SplashDown Beach is a popular water park in Fishkill, known as 'America's Biggest Little Water Park.' It offers a variety of attractions including slides, rides, a wave pool, and play areas. Some of the highlights include the Humunga Half-Pipe and the Arctic Mammoth. While it can get crowded on weekends, getting season passes is recommended as they quickly pay off. However, keep in mind that weather conditions like rain can affect your plans since it's an outdoor park.
Ive been coming here since I was a kid! To see it turn into this amazing water park is awesome. The amount of new rides plus the original ones is awesome. The wait times are not crazy (we went during the week) the areas are kept clean. There are many food stands bath rooms and sitting areas. Id highly recommend this water park to friends and family

Came here for the first time today. Arrived at 2 and left at 6 on a Sunday afternoon. There was enough time for us to try all the rides. Very impressed by this waterpark. Despite its smaller size, the park was well designed with no feeling of overcrowdedness. Some line coming in but it was not a long wait. There’s also a line for the rides but they generally move fairly quickly. Not a concern in being able to do them all with the time we had. Food was good, and the rides were a good mix of varieties of different levels. We appreciate the cleanness, multiple parking lots and plenty of tables and chairs to chill. Even though the park closes at 6, the rides continue to operate until probably 7. No one is kicking you out! We had a really good time. Recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

Had an awesome time at SplashDown Beach! The park was super clean, well organized, and had something fun for everyone whether you’re into thrill slides or just want to chill in the lazy river. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the lines moved pretty quickly. Definitely recommend buying tickets in advance to skip the wait and get right in. Perfect spot for a summer day with friends or family!

This place is an oasis. The park is beautiful and very well-maintained. I don't think I saw one piece of garbage laying around anywhere. It is extremely family friendly oriented and I picked a perfect day to go as it is clear skies with a high of 84 🌞 Adults and kids will love this place.

We had a great experience with my family. The lifeguards were very professional, responsible, and respectful of each other. We felt very welcome. It’s truly one of the best parks!”

Great hidden Gem in Fishkill. Everything is fresh. Amazing Red sauce.. Gio was an amazing server. So sweet & attentive. The focaccia bread was lovely and I highly recommend the personal pizzas to start or share as It's actually very large for one person. Just Perfect. Everything else was wonderful as well. Ty Gio. You made my visit fun with my Adult children.

If you haven't been here before, you need to stop in. I was greeted by a very friendly server. He was excellent. Very attentive, stopping by at just the right pace to make sure I didn't need anything, but not to the point where i felt I was being rushed. Menu has a lot to select from. I decided to order the Cafe BLT Sandwich... was not disappointed, it was excellent!

We had a great experience. Service was very friendly and responsive. Food was great, cooked just right. They have half portion prices, which is very nice. We were traveling through, and we're very pleased. We had shrimp special, salmon entree, and steak salad. If you like spicy food, ask for their chili sauce that comes with the salmon. Thank you!

A very nice place to stop and grab a bite in downtown Fishkill. The Tomato cafe serves some fantastic sandwiches and pasta in a cozy little cafe setting. The service was fantastic and the setting was relaxed. The side salads and the bread were delicious. My wife absolutely loved her pasta primavera dish and the ability to get it in a smaller half portion was appreciated as we were traveling and unfortunately couldn’t take left overs with us!

Lovely cozy place in downtown Fish, not expensive and lovely food. Also good customer service, very pleasant and food did not take long. I would definitely recommend the Philly cheesesteak with pepper jack cheese. Fresh and delicious. Would go back :)

I had a delicious hamburger with an equally exceptional side garden salad - the house dressing was superb. The burger was so huge that I brought half back to my friend's house. The service was very good until our waiter made us wait 20 minutes to pay after giving us the bill. In any case, the next time I visit my friend in Beacon, I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again.

The Dutchess Biercafe is a beloved spot in the region, known for its cozy and unassuming atmosphere. It has won awards for its Best Burger and Outdoor Dining. The restaurant offers a Belgian-inspired vibe with a rotating beer menu that includes Belgian and local beers.
Traditional "Pub" feeling. Regular customers and friendly welcoming staff. Excellent service. Amazing tap selection. (As a customer of a great many regionally themed taverns I was able to try beers I had never seen on tap!). The menu was nicely varied and had a few unique items. One of those being Bacon Apple Lentil soup. Freaking awesome. Smallish bar area. Two dining areas and a huge patio when the weather cooperates. Well worth a visit!

Wonderful restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining. Food was absolutely delicious. Beers were tasty. And the staff was excellent. I definitely want to come back and try more of the menu.
Kevin F — Google review
Our apps were good, but entrees left much to be desired. The cheese curds (my personal fav) were a perfect combination of crunchy and cheesy, and the everything pretzels paired well with their accompanying dips. The chicken was OK, but the waffles were more dense and crumbly than I expected (like a biscuit). Paired with the extremely thick and sticky maple bacon jam, it was impossible to keep it from sticking to the plate and crumbling apart. Eating this as a sandwich as intended would not have worked. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was loaded with slaw and chipotle mayo, so it was messy, but tasted fine. Fair warning though, it typically comes with a spicy glaze, which we luckily asked for on the side. It was insanely hot! I couldn’t imagine making it through more than a few bites had it been on the sandwich, and we usually like hot & spicy! We added on their mac & cheese for an up charge, and it wasn’t worth it - it lacked in flavor and cheesiness, and the “Cheeto topping” didn’t add anything. Perhaps a good spot for beers and some plates to share, but wasn’t our cup of tea.

Decided to try this restaurant for lunch while in the area based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. Food, service and atmosphere was great! We had the pleasure of being taken care of by Amanda. Good came out, hot, fresh and fast. Great spot, check them out.

What a wonderful place for really well done pub food. Belgian beer list and food but there are rotating pub favorites as well. The Irish Bangers with house made pierogi and peas was so flavorful. Service is wonderful as well
Daniel H — Google review
I tend to really like this place. I’ve been coming here since they were just a little shack. The last few times I was here I’ve been underwhelmed. Roasted Brussels sprouts are soggy served in a bowl with a hefty layer of maybe butter, oil, and water that it expels from being cooked too fast and in a crowded pan. I think my problem with this is that the whole reason people order roasted Brussels sprouts is for that signature charred leaf and caramelized flesh. It’s just disappointing. This is just a boiled mess. Greek salad is good. Chicken is overcooked. Kids meals are always good.
David C — Google review
When the chicken sandwich came, I started to doubt my life. Is it really necessary? No. Should you order it? At least once in your life? Absolutely yes.

Dutchess Biercafe feels like Fishkill’s own MacLaren’s Pub or Central Perk—a place you keep coming back to, not just for the endless beer list and great food, but because it’s got that “this could be our spot” vibe.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful Greek dining experience, look no further than Athena Gyro. This charming eatery offers an array of fresh and flavorful dishes that are perfect for those who want to indulge without feeling weighed down. The Greek salad is a standout, featuring home-style preparation with dill and fresh feta served alongside a tangy dressing. Their lentil soup is beautifully crafted with a tomato base that tantalizes the taste buds.
Athena Gyro is truly a hidden gem in Fishkill area. I travel all the way from Middletown to eat quality Greek food since there is non near us. I highly recommend the Gyro Platter with the salad. The lamb is tender and succulent and seasoned amazingly. The Greek salad dressing refreshing and has an amazing zest! If you are looking for amazing Mediterranean food from great people and large portions you got to try Athena Gyro.

My hubby and I were visiting and were told to try another diner for dinner. We were not impressed at all!! The next day we drove around and found this wonderful gem of a restaurant! 10/10!!! EVERYTHING we ordered was fresh, portions were huge and the atmosphere was great!! He got the lamb burger w/greek fries and I ordered the Mediterranean chickpea salad (added gyro meat). So much so that we decided to eat here for the remainder of our stay!! I mean, IYKYK!! Why chance being disappointed when you can eat good, not break the bank and receive excellent service?!! Win! Win!!

We’ve eaten in once and get take out every couple of months or so since moving to Fishkill in September 2022. Consistently delicious food and friendly service. Fair prices with generous portions. You will leave here full and with leftovers. Have yet to get dessert, but their desserts look amazing.
Shan W — Google review
I got the spanakopita (spinach pie), Greek salad, papoutsaki (half of an eggplant stuffed) which is not veg friendly because it has ground meat, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), mushroom barley soup and cheesecake baklava. The spinach pie was dry and felt stale, I loved the dolmades and came with a sour cream dip. The cheesecake was good but the baklava layer was so hard couldn't cut it with a knife so only ate the top. I gave away the spanakopita because it had meat which I didn't know. And the mushroom soup tastes like it's from a can. There is free parking directly behind. Overall I feel like some of the food is over priced considering it doesn't feel homemade. They give you a pack of pita bread with your order so that's nice.

We recently returned from Crete and were looking to travel by mouth back to Greece. Athena was a tasty, fresh return to the Mediterranean. The salad was a classic big chunk bowl of joy. The real delight was the generous portion of salmon. We left full and satisfied. My new go-to place for clean food.

SANGRIA & GREEK FRIES FANS THIS IS YOUR PLACE I’ve already been twice and I’m so late in my review this place is one of the best Greek food I’ve had starting from the service ! The waiter and waitresses give you that fancy restaurant treatment very accommodating chill and also the outdoor seating when is nice it’s just perfect I know they have live music sometimes and the inside feels very inviting but I have not seat inside…now the food! Must have the Greek fries!! The hummus they’re going to change your life also I had the chicken gyro! 🥙 loved it and my ultimate favorite was their sangria ! It’s one of the best I’ve had in a long time as well! You can taste wine and it’s just perfectly balanced 🍷

I always love a good Greek place, so while my boyfriend and I were driving down from beacon, I started to Google search for Greek places on the way down. I happened to come across Athena Gyro and thought the pictures looked pretty good. We drove slightly back in the other direction to give it a try. We were not disappointed. The interior is so cute, clean and comfortable. Our server was great and checked on us a few times even though we were annoying and indecisive. We settled on a gyro platter with rice for me and a gyro on a pita for him. Since he's a chicken tendies kind of city boy, he got that too, just because. Everything was amazing. The portions are huge and the food is tasty not oily. The salad dressing is yummy I finished my entire side salad and could barely finish my full meal. George, the owner, is so kind and also checked on us throughout our meal. Although we're not from the area, we drive up north often and will definitely be back to share more meals and conversation with George. If you haven't eaten in here yet, please do yourself a favor and give it a shot.

Super cute ambiance. They greeted us as we walked in, “sit wherever you like.” We ordered a bunch of food, obv we were super hungry. We got the falafel appetizer first, it could’ve and should’ve been cooked more and definitely more hot, they were warm, not even. We then got our entrees, my rice was cold not even semi warm and the chicken skewers as well. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be eaten that way but it would’ve been nice to know if so. The gyro my husband ordered was cold as well, the meat included was very little as it was mainly lettuce and tomato, super cheap with the onions. We ordered a Pepsi and it was like a bad fountain soda, I think it’s important to share that fact with customers, that it isn’t bottled or in a can. It’s okay though, when I use my microwave and air fryer tomorrow, best believe I’m going to devour all these leftovers. 😂 forgot to mention I had a coupon (good promotion) however the waitress was like “oh everyone has a coupon.”

Trattoria Locanda is a charming gem nestled in the heart of Fishkill, NY, where Southern Italian cuisine takes center stage. With its cozy atmosphere featuring exposed brick walls, this eatery is perfect for family gatherings or intimate dinners with friends. The owner, Heather, goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel welcome and relaxed. Diners rave about the made-to-order dishes that never leave you hungry; favorites include their delectable chicken pie paired with a fresh salad.
This is the second time our family visit this Italian restaurant. made a reservation for 4, The service was great Very attentive. The food was amazing large Portions. Dessert was delicious. Best tiramisu. Our favorite place.

Huge shoutout to DoorDash for canceling my order after an hour, truly the hero of this story. (My girlfriend went full hangry at this point… think plotting vengeance on innocent appliances.) Luckily, Trattoria Locanda swooped in like the REAL superheroes: let us pick up anyway, gave a discount, AND threw in two slices of cheesecake like a peace treaty. 🍰 Penne alla Vodka: perfection. Cheese ravioli: cheesy pillows of deliciousness. Salads: crisp enough to slap you awake. Pumpkin cheesecake: Could end wars if it wanted to… OBSESSED. Girlfriend happy, I survived, food is insane. 10/10, so good they reversed the emotional damage DoorDash caused. Therapy through pasta. 🖤

We were out of town from MD to visit family in NY. Found this gem when looking for restaurants near our hotel. Main St Fishkill was decorated so pretty for the season as was the restaurant. Service was wonderful and meals delicious. Pricing and portion size gracious as well. Wish near our home because so many menu choices and daily specials. We enjoyed calarmari, bruchetta, came with fresh bread, a lg side salad, side pasta, veal franchese and zuppa seafood were main entrees and finished with tiramisu.🎄❣

Beautiful little spot for delicious Italian food. We went on a Thursday night and it was understandably quiet which worked out well for us as we didn't have a reservation. I hear the weekends get very busy. The food was very flavorful and cooked well. The seasonings were on point, not too salty, or strongly flavored, just right. Bread served before dinner was delicious and it came with an authentic sun dried tomato in olive oil accoutrement. Wow, loved that. Tasted like the stuff my family puts out at holidays and gatherings. Salad was perfectly dressed in a light Caesar dressing that was so tasty. We had some pasta dishes and a chicken dish and everything was perfection. Mashed potatoes were my fav, just right in flavor and texture. Our server was super sweet, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel like we were having dinner at a family members house. This place is an authentic Italian comfort food gem. We found our new favorite spot. :)

While the food was very good the experience was unbelievably bad. My family and I went there because it looked promising. It took 15 minutes just to get a menu ( because we had to ask) then waited an hour. Finally we asked about the status of our food and they said the salads would be coming shortly… we asked to skip the salads because we needed to get out of there and finally got our meals after 1.5 hours. They never brought out our pasta and my wife had to leave with our child and got hers to go (they didn’t include utensils). While the food was good, I’d never go back. They comped our bottle of wine but this was unacceptable.
Stuart D — Google review
Nice location, beautiful atmosphere, great service, what could go wrong? The food! We stopped in near end of a long road trip for dinner. It’s really quite nice inside. Our meal however was sub par. Salad just didn’t do it. The eggplant parmesan was so tough I had to use a knife to cut it. Pasta was adequate but it tasted like canned sauce. Good dinner rolls with garlic and the house red wine was ok also. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing? Probably not. Tragic.
Michael P — Google review
Had a 645 reservation, we were asked to have a drink at the bar while our table got ready. We watched as the table was set, and finally asked if we should sit since no one came to get us. We waited another 15 minutes before the waiter came and we had to ask if there were any specials as she didn’t offer them. We got our salad at 8pm. Table next to us sat at the same time but were clearly friends of the owner, who sat with them the entire time enjoying their meal . Had to pick up our kid at 9 so didn’t have time for dessert. Will spend our anniversary elsewhere next time.

Came here on a Friday with no reservations and sat outside, which was fine because it was nice outside. The only issue was that it was threatening to rain at anytime. The owner /manager assured us not to worry about anything and just enjoy ourselves. We felt instantly relaxed. About 20 minutes into our evening there outside it started to rain. They came outside with us immediately and helped us take everything inside. They found a small table for us and set us up. It was perfect! The inside ambience was so cozy with the bricks, the wine, and the soft lighting. Some people here on Google complained about the noise, but we kind of liked it. It added to feel and vibe of the place. During our meals, which were amazing by the way, the owner /manager stopped by multiple times to see if everything was OK which impressed us. The entire staff was attentive, kind, and happy. When we got up to leave the owner/manager saw us from the back of the restaurant and made his way up to us to formally say goodbye. Now that's how you run a restaurant!!!! Thanks, we will be back often....

I just don't understand how a pizza place can be this successful with a red sauce that is bland. Yes it's red. I think it has tomatoes in it and that's about it. I don't detect any spices. Garlic is nonexistent!! This pizzeria reminds me of those startup pizzerias that last for six months and then die off because their pizza is bland & overpriced.. this restaurant in Fishkill / Beacon I would rank 12th in pizzerias for the area. Their 'A la Vodka sauce' is also a joke.

The specialty slices are good if not really good, and the individual slices (3.95) are much larger than you get in even the large cheese pie ($18.95) 👀 (and the slices were small in the large pie). I know inflation is hurting everyone right now, but I feel $27.50 for a large plain pie and an order of garlic knots is a little on the high end?

The prime rib is just as good as it used to be. The staff was very friendly and attention to detail. We to eat here on a Friday night at 830 and there was only 2 other tables seated. They did however take the new England clam chowder off the menu. The pop overs were a little dryer then I remember and the strawberry butter wasn't as sweet. But over all was a very good dinning experience. They had a grilled bacon slab that was excellent

Was here for Restaurant Week and while service was very good, the food was solid, but not great. We did order of the special menu and would order off the regular menu next time. Was given a popover to start, then ordered the corn and cream chowder (a bit too thick), sirloin steak and apple strudel (top was to sugary) with vanilla ice cream.

Tonight at around 9pm I ate the worst baby back ribs I have ever eaten in my life. Dry and stuff, with an awful sauce that tasted like ketchup. At 2:30am tonight I threw it all up. Everything else was fine. Won't be returning.

Food was excellent as always and was able to enjoy an early birthday dinner with my friends. I enjoyed the lobster bisque soup and the stuffed salmon. Jillian our waitress was a sweetheart and very professional. Can't wait to go back again and oh yeah don't forget the popovers.

Terrific food and now after a six year hiatus live music is back! The Ang n' Ed Acoustic Duo are so proud to have had the honor of bringing it back... check this place out. You won't be disappointed.

Sad to hear this place is closing so we visited one more time! I used to work here years ago and was excited to be back inside. We ordered prime rib and duck breast. It was all really, really good. The vegetables were flavorful, the mashed potatoes creamy, and the proteins were cooked perfectly. The popovers were a bit dry and hard, but otherwise we were quite happy. I hope with an internal update to the restaurant, it will be able to regain some of its past charm.

The restaurant provides lunch, dinner, and kids menus with gluten-free options available. Customers have praised the delicious salad bar and friendly staff members. Some diners have enjoyed perfectly cooked N.Y.
I’ve dined here 4 separate occasions while on business . All but one have been excellent . Staff is good but can be on the slow side. Food is great . Salad bar (unlimited) is awesome . If you desire spinach instead of lettuce head to the end of the salad bar first!

DIRTY fan(hadn’t been cleaned in months with clumps of dust) blowing straight at the salad bar from the floor up, so any dust, dirt, or hair being kicked up by people’s feet goes right in your food. These people are clueless!! Im guessing their KITCHEN is just as dirty. Even if they remove the fan cause of this review. Just ask yourself, If they are careless about a simple thing like this, what else is behind the door? I just got the salad bar. It was ok. It looked like things were staring to get dried out. The Cottage cheese starting to get hard. The cheese was getting rubbery. Some of the items in the middle of the bar were hard to get to and I imagined someone dragging an article of clothing through the food. It would be easy to do. SERVICE was ok. The server came by to take our order and drop off the food. Never asked how everything was or offered any refills for our drinks. Had to get his attention for the check.

Great salad bar, good salmon and a few really handsome staff members! The last time we were here, we were greeted and seated by a very handsome young man who graciously moved us after noticing that our rowdy neighbors (other restaurant guests) were making us uncomfortable. The salad bar is yummy and atmosphere homey. I have had a few entrees that could be better, but if we stick with the basics its usually an enjoyable meal. We had one bad experience with a grumpy older lady server and poor food quality recently but I am going to overlook that and hope it was an anomaly. I will recommend skipping dessert, they seem to buy low quality desserts.

Very excited to see it busy. Last few times it was very empty. Waitress never gave me my lemon in my diet soda. Salad bar had a lot of empty buckets. 15 minutes after we ordered.. we were informed they ran out of garlic mashed potatoes that comes with the meal. The frizzled onions were scraps. Digging to the bottom of the barrel. The steaks were so loaded with salt; it's disgusting! My honey said the men's room was filthy. The service was not great. My favorite part - the raisin nut bread. I guess new management. A nice time with my honey.... Wrong choice of restaurant! Very disappointing.

We went to celebrate my mother's birthday and we had a great time. Me and my wife ordered the N.Y. strip and it was perfectly cooked, and got hand cut French fries with it. The salad bar was very good, especially the fresh baked bread. We would definitely come back again, well worth the trip.

Just tried this place out for the first time and it was great! The food and service were very good. Between all of us at our table we had the chicken, pork, and squash boat and they were all delicious. The service was great as well. We went to see the Abbott and Costello show and that was very well done too! I really have no complaints about the entire evening. Also, we felt very comfortable with all of the precautions they are taking for covid-19. There is no one at the table next to you and there is plexi glass up between tables, it was all very thorough. So happy we tried this place out and we will definitely be going back!

This year I attended four events at Clover Creek. The shows were entertaining, funny and the actors were quite professional. It is a small venue but they have done a wonderful job with set design. The dinner were excellent although the entree choices remain the same for a season, but the quality and quantity were fine. Service at the show was great too. Everyone is friendly and outgoing. Check out the new shows for the spring!! I'll be going for sure! Finally, an intimate dinner theater experience in the Hudson Valley!!

Wonderful show with great actors.the food was another story. My niece's mother in law got the shrimp and told the owner it wasn't good.it was dry and rubbery.she basically was dismissed and as the women walked away all she said was "ill let them know". After the show she didn't feel well and had to be taken home.the courteous thing would have been to offer s replacement meal or at least an apology over the quality.it really wasn't good.my mother never got her dessert and shared instead and the whoopie pie was filled with a cream made of confectioners sugar and water.it was really awful. The show was fabulous but the dinner not so much at least for one person at the table

This was our second time here. I found myself once again surprised at the quality of the food. For some reason, I never expect dinner theater to have delicious food, but again I stuffed myself, and the value was great. We saw a show that our friend directed, so of course I'm biased. It was wonderful, and made for great discussion on the drive home. Worth the drive in from New Jersey, and made for a great date night (not to mention a lot less hassle than seeing something on Broadway). Looking forward to our next visit!

Food was OK and the show was fine. There were four dinner options (steak, shrimp, chicken, and veg), three of which were gluten free. I wouldn't recommend it for a date night as you sit at communal tables so not very private but if it would be good if you went in a group. The show/acting was middle of the road.... But it was fun to watch.

Having read some of the poor reviews I was really concerned as to what we would find. Much to my surprise, it turned out to be excellent. Felicia (sp) was super helpful and informative with making reservations The food was okay. Large portions. Tasty. Don’t expect fine dining, it isn’t that. More like catering hall. Service was pleasant, again not high level yet certainly accommodating The acting was superb. We were impressed w the entire cast and with out question Lauren Silverman ( corie). Was a stand out in barefoot in the part. She was bubbly, adorable and carried the part w perfection. As did the entire cast. We Look forward to another visit!

History Museums
Step back in time at the Van Wyck Homestead Museum, a historic Dutch colonial house dating back to 1732. During the Revolutionary War, it served as officers' quarters for the Continental Army and was a key location for the Fishkill Supply Depot. Today, the Fishkill Historical Society manages the property and offers self-guided tours from dawn to dusk, with guided tours available on select dates. The museum showcases exhibits and artifacts related to Fishkill's role in the American Revolution.
Very nice old house with a lot of history. I was there for a paranormal investigation. Which was great. Had a very good time and meet a lot of nice people. The house which is a Museum is completely interesting, also well kept. The staff is wonderful and know their history. I recommend going.

Historic home with very knowledgeable guide, the museum is completely self supporting and and for donations, no set admission. We have $20 and joined the historical society that oversees the museum. They're only open weekends so check to be sure before you go
For A — Google review
The man working/ volunteering at the museum was not kind. When I arrived, he welcomed me warmly. He asked if I was there for a tour and I told him I was not interested because I had limited time; my family was in the car and it was hot outside. They have no interest in the revolutionary war. He informed me that they had air conditioning jokingly. I thanked him but said my family wasn't interested, may I look around? He told me I could not. Then I asked if I could look in the foyer where several paintings were hanging. He told me I could not. He stated I could only be where I was standing (in the entrance) and I was not allowed to enter without accepting a tour. I would normally never leave a review like this but he was so rude and detrimental to the cause of revolutionary war knowledge, I just had to. I said nothing inflammatory and stamped my daughter's national park passport before leaving. It looked like a nice place to visit, but unfortunately I may never know.

Another revolutionary war site with an interesting history. Self guided tour of the grounds. House tours available on the weekend.
Vincent N — Google review
Great well preserved historical site. It's very peaceful to go for a self guided tour of the grounds. Even though it's right near major roads it's still quiet and peaceful. It's an excellent stop for kids to stretch their legs if you're getting off 84 for gas or a snack nearby.
Matthew — Google review
Great experience when they're open for tours, great experience when they're not as well. You're able to walk around the grounds. The Fishkill Historical Society has made self-guided touring easy; signs with details about the areas of the homestead, as well as sites around the property are a help to understand the true value of preservation of this important historic place. A must-see for any history buff, and their family days are a blast for the kids, featuring period accurate games and character actors.

Nice paved path around the entire park for walking/jogging. Unfortunately no pets allowed. There's a nice sized pavilion towards the back of the park right next to the playground. I was disappointed with the playground. It's small and there are large rocks protruding from the ground right under the swing set.

Martial arts school
Located in Fishkill, NY, the Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts Institute has been offering training since 1994. It is the sole facility in town that specializes in teaching Jeet Kune Do. The institute is highly regarded for its instructors, led by Sifu Richard Torres, who are dedicated to helping students reach their full potential. Students of various ages and backgrounds have found a welcoming and supportive environment at the institute.
Hands down the best. Skills I learned from falling properly saved me from a serious concussion after slipping on an icey walkway. Chin tuck and side slap was instinctual. The lessons, quality of instruction and the care Sifu Torres teaches are lessons you’ll keep with you for the rest of your life. Take a couple classes and see for yourself.
William A — Google review
Enrolled my son's there 30 years ago. It has had a lasting effect on their lives. This is not a silly karate school that awards belts every month. This is the real deal, belt awards take about a year each, only after the student masters each level. There are no give aways, either you master the level,or no advancement. The instructors are black belts in JKD,patient and tolerant, never bullying. When my granddaughter is old enough,I'm bringing her there for training. Also,at 68,I'm signing up for training. Never too young or old to develop the excellent skills imparted at this school.
Billy B — Google review
I sat in and watched the class about 4 years ago but felt at 46 and just starting I wouldn't be able to handle the physical requirements. Joined last year at 50 and have had an excellent experience as the instructors under Sifu Torres push you to do your best but also know everyone's capabilities vary depending on when they start, past experience, etc. Has been almost a year now and its one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life. As another reviewer noted, its a more practical approach to self-defense than I've ever seen, the instructors are down-to-earth and do a great job of ensuring you continue to learn, the rigorous exercises help get you into shape in order to effectively use the skills they teach you, and the atmosphere is much more of a family than a sterile school environment. Again, I've visited a few schools throughout the years with various styles, and here, the combination of a direct, effective, practical style, unbelievably skilled yet approachable instructors (all with a great sense of humor), and the leadership of Sifu Richard Torres, this is a true gem excelling in the style made famous by Bruce Lee like no other school I've ever seen!
D. C — Google review
I have been part of this school since 1998. I may be biased however, prior to joining I had experience in tai chi and classic karate. Sifu Richard Torres is by far the best instructor for training in JKD. He is able to cultivate each student individually bringing out your personal best.
James S — Google review
Im coming up on two years this summer training at the JKD MIA. And i can proudly say it has been two of the greatest physical and mental years of training of my life. I didnt begin taking martial arts til i was 27 and choosing this school was easily one of the best decisions i have ever made! Sifu Richard Torres and his instructors are second to none when it comes to Jeet Kune Do. The school will quickly embrace you as all the students and instructors become family! Anyone looking to start or embark in a journey in martial arts shouldnt look anywhere else but this school. Will not find a more efficient martial art than this anywhere!
Chris B — Google review
I've trained in several styles of Martial Arts since i was young and continued for many years until a work load and time consuming employment in Law enforcement and several injuries optained while working hindered my training and continuance with a Martial Arts school. After my retirement i was in search of a Martial Arts school but not any Martial Arts school, i was looking to train in Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do. I came upon The Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts Institute in Fishkill, NY last year and attended a viewing of the beginners class.......i was sold immediatley!!!!!!!! In May of 2012 i started training under owner Sifu Richard Torres and instructers Christopher J LaFalce and Jesse Ohliger. This by far has been one of the BEST decisions i've made in my life. The training there is second to none. It's a no nonsence approach to realistic street defense as developed by Bruce Lee. Sifu Torres' approach to training shows the years of research, intensive training and detication to the Art and Philosophy of Jeet Kune Do. My only wish is that i would have been here since the begining at the opening of this school, but it's never too late, at age 50 i'm begining to get my life back and feeling alive again thanks to Sifu Torres and The Jeet Kune Do Martial Arts Institute!!!!!

My cousin sam works out alot, story short he had to go a medical program for 2 months because of a problem, fast forward a few weeks after he got out. my parents were terraforming and cutting tree branches with a chainsaw, next thing you know and the internet cable goes down and you can't even watch YouTube. Me and sam have a realm on minecraft and with no internet I couldn't play with him. I started to cry and I said I hated my life. Course I didn't meant the but then I got the idea to go to the libary. Fast forward to when I get there I walked in the door and I already got a good vibe. 2 floors and a basement. Wifi. Every book that's ever existed. Art. Happiness. I brought my nintendo switch to play with sam. The internet worked great, and I was able to play for a long time. not only can you read books, but it also has computers, charging outlets, the most chill able tables & chairs, and even a TV with a Nintendo hooked up to it. If you live in fishkill and need to go to a libary, this is THE one to go to. 10/10

Good selection of reference books, local area books, general library books and they're very children-friendly: definitely encouraging to all families. Library itself is very homely, not cold like some libraries, like going into someone's house (and it even looks the part too!).

This pandemic caught us all off guard! I had been taking my granddaughters to the library each week for storytime. They LOVED it. But then, no storytime. Then I found out that there was a wonderful program to encourage kids to keep reading and encouraging them to read different genres. Each week or two we pick up a bag with a craft project that matches a genre- fairy tales, animal stories, etc. They LOVE it! Thank you SO MUCH for doing such a spectacular job of encouraging the little ones to keep listening to stories!!! Mrs. Lopez

The experience allows you to select fresh ingredients tailored to your taste, making each visit a unique culinary adventure. This location has become so disappointing, I don’t know what happened. It used to be great. Lately I feel like I’ve had nothing but bad experiences between no chips most of the time, getting the completely wrong order, now the portions. Like there’s a good chunk of my chicken bowl just missing? Staff is always nice but management is clearly lacking here. Do better.
Elizabeth — Google review
Truly a terrible, awful Chipotle. I don't exaggerate when I say 80% of the time my order is wrong. If you order fajita veggies you are highly likely not to get them. Today is my final straw -- tacos were missing not only fajita veggies but also missing beans, had hardly any lettuce at all, the corn salsa was not salsa but just a few corn kernels. So sad and so incredibly disappointing. Oh, and anytime you report it on the app, the 1st time they might give you a credit for an entree, but after reporting again (when they inevitably mess up again) they will just give you a credit for a free drink even if your entree was completely wrong. Not to mention you can only use the credit as part of another order, so even when they royally mess up (almost always) they are finding a way to get more of your money. Infuriating. A disgrace. The world would be better if this Chipotle went out of business. Avoid at all costs.

Absolutely HORRIBLE. I found a piece of plastic in my food. Unsanitary and outright hazardous/disgusting. I had an online order and when I said they did not include my chips I got brushed off and told they didn’t have any. Don’t you think you should inform you customers instead of them having to go back and ask. SO unprofessional. The girl who I spoke to was nothing but nasty as well. POOR POOR POOR establishment.
Allison B — Google review
ordered online asked for extra veggies (there were none), napkins and utensils (none either), there’s barely any lettuce or cheese and the bowl wasn’t full (forgot to take a pic right when i opened it). after reading the other reviews i’m surprised it wasn’t worse than that…

The food was pretty good but the place was filthy. This particular Chipotle is always crowded i guess due to the location. It's close to Walmart and route 9. We usually enjoy the food the service is sometimes ok depending on who you get to serve you. The place is always dirty, food is on the floor and the chairs. I dont think they have enough employees and I think it's because the employees are younger. We visited recently cause that's what my nephew wanted and there was no ice in the ice machine so I brought it to the attention of one of the employees and she stated oh yeah they know that someone has to put ice in the machine so I asked her when will that be she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away, really? They have to do better.
Jackie M — Google review
Went there twice within a week when visiting the area. They seem to give smaller portions, a lot of the food isn't fresh, and they are not very attentive for the most part, as I did encounter one employee who was friendly.
Heather — Google review
im not even sure how this location is still up and running its always so filthy and slow. on two different occasions ive found stickers from avocados in my bowls and another random piece of plastic. that just goes to show that ingredients are probably never prepped correctly.
Mimi — Google review
GO TO SALSA FRESCO JUST ACROSS THE ROAD. This place gets worse and worse. They are always out of something, often vegetables but also chicken. Today it was chicken - but they told us it would be 10 minutes, so we decided to wait for the chicken (we didn't want beef/steak). As people arrived we asked them if they didn't want chicken to go to the front but some people also decided to wait for chicken. The cook was turning over the chicken, you could see it was almost done. After 10 minutes he took it off, chopped it up and even though there were now 8+ people waiting for chicken, took the chicken and gave it to the servers doing online orders. So we were still without chicken!! It was so customer unfriendly! The cook should have at least given enough chicken for the 8 people waiting in line and the rest could have gone for the online orders. It just reinforced that this chipotle is REALLY BADLY MANAGED!!! Go to salsa fresco instead since it's just across the street.

Wow, what an absolute gem this place is! We visited the area for a hiking trip, and decided to check out Gymkhana based on their amazing reviews. I see what all the hype is about now. This is the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Each dish was SO flavorful. The portions were big, and prices were very reasonable. If you love great food, good prices and leftovers to take home with you to enjoy for later.. don’t hesitate. We will definitely be back!

Gymkhana Cuisine of India turned out to be a great spot for a casual yet flavorful Indian dining experience. The ambiance is minimal—not too fancy, but clean and comfortable, which worked perfectly for our group. We ordered a mix of vegetarian dishes for those who prefer veg, along with chicken and fish options for the rest—and honestly, everyone enjoyed their meal. The flavors were rich, the portions were generous, and everything felt freshly made. Service was quick and efficient—we didn’t have to wait long at all after placing our order, which was a big plus. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely come back if I’m in the area and craving Indian food.

They offer buffet style daily and also a large variety menu of Indian dishes. Food is good, I like the mango lassi and lamb curry the best.

Stopped by for a quick dinner. One of the best indian food I've ever had. We are going to stop by again on our way back. Service was fast, place has great variety of food, we didn't have to wait to get seated during peak dinner time, and the bathrooms are nice and clean. Best of all, the curry is amazing. The portioning was very generous me and my husband shared one curry (we both had mango lassi though.) Definitely recommend.

I started with the lamb samosa, they were large, perfectly crisp, and absolutely delectable. For my main course, I had the Kori Salan with a side of garlic naan, and I can honestly say I haven’t enjoyed food this much in a very long time. I only wish I lived closer. The service exceeded expectations, warm and attentive without being overbearing. Even more telling was the atmosphere: the customers seemed like regulars, greeted by name with genuine smiles as they walked in. A true hidden gem.

The aromas as you enter are incredibly appealing. The restaurant has a modern look and vibe but serves up very traditional Indian cuisine. Each dish was delicious! The portions were generous as well and the value for your money is excellent. We will definitely return.

🔥 Restaurant Review: Gymkhana Grill – Albany, NY 🔥 As a foodie travel chef, I explore restaurants and cuisines across the country—and Gymkhana Cuisine of India absolutely delivered! 🙌 I was warmly greeted and accommodated for takeout. The Gymkhana Mixed Grill? A sizzling, smoky masterpiece! 🍖🔥 Juicy, bold, and cooked to perfection. The Dal Makhani was rich and flavorful (though I’d prefer a little less tomato). Staff were super friendly, and the vibe was warm and welcoming. If you love Indian food, this place is a must. 😋💯 👉 Question for you: What’s your go-to Indian dish when you eat out? Let me know—I’m always looking for new favorites to try! 🍛👇 ________________________________________ 📌 Hashtags: #DocRaffino #FoodieFinds #IndianCuisine #MixedGrillMagic #TandooriLove #SpicyEats #GlutenFreeEats #TravelChef #AlbanyEats #RestaurantReview #CulinaryJourney

Pizza restaurant
If you're on the hunt for a delightful pizza experience, look no further than Pizza & Stuff. This charming, family-run establishment offers a cozy counter service where you can indulge in an array of Italian-American favorites like pizza, subs, and pasta. Their thin crust pizzas are consistently praised for their deliciousness; one standout is the Grandma pizza topped with sausage, pepperoni, and bacon. Other crowd-pleasers include the creamy white pizza and the mouthwatering lasagna pie.
Pizza & Stuff is a great place to grab dinner after a long day at work. Their delivery service is typically fast as well. The pizza is great, and the Italian meals are another good option as well. Try the boneless wings or garlic balls if you're looking for a good appetizer.

I wrote an email to Dave Portnoy from Barstool Sports suggesting he do a review of Pizza N Stuff because their pizza is so consistently delicious (thin crust style) I've had most of their different kinds of pizza, and all are equally good and I've been a long-time customer. Today I had a Grandma pizza with sausage, pepperoni, and bacon. Other favorites are the white pizza, and the lasagna pie in particular is just killer. Also love their philly cheesesteaks and strombolis. The owner Robert D is a great guy, and Pizza N Stuff is my "go to" place. I also feel compared to other pizza places their prices are very reasonable. If you are live in Fishkill or are visiting Fishkill, I highly recommend Pizza N Stuff. Best pizza in the area.

We've been to a good portion of pizza places in the area and this is a solid top 5. Service: excellent; personable, polite, and courteous. That level of service that the chain stores lack. Speed: fast; i can't attest to the extended menu but for some slices and a pizza roll <5. Cost: reasonable; avg around $20 for a family of 3. Quality: good; we got exactly what we expected. Overall: fast, reasonably priced, great service. We'll be back.

Ordered pizza with bacon and noted gluten allergy from the Fishkill location. Pizza arrived with NO BACON and when store was contacted, they confirmed that the crust was NOT gluten free. When manager came to the phone, he was immediately defensive, stating “haven’t you ever made a mistake?” and blaming the crust on customer error. Manager stated “people put allergies all the time and don’t mean it”. Manager refusing to fix mistake, stating “I suggest you call Uber Eats yourself and get it fixed with them.” No apology was given, only excuses. Additionally, the fried dough contained a hair baked into it.

Wanted the “New York” style pizza experience without the New York traffic, this place did not disappoint. The pizza is FANTASTIC, the people were nice and quick, and the prices were more than fair. The chicken bacon ranch pizza is delicious, will definitely stop here every time we’re out this way.

Nestled in the heart of East Fishkill, Beast is a delightful barbecue joint that has quickly become a local favorite. Located just a stone's throw away from other culinary gems on Main Street, this eatery offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for meat lovers. The menu features an array of smoked meats and classic barbecue dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
We stopped here for dinner cause we were craving ribs. We sat outside (bring bug spray) and we were surprised to hear about dollar wings! We ordered beast dry rub wings, plain wings, and beast BBQ sauce and they were all delicious. We ordered a full rack of ribs to share. They were fantastic! The meat fell right off the bone. I highly recommend getting these!

First time visit! Great little place. My server Morgan was attentive and friendly. They have over 300 types of bourbons and a Bourbon Bible which is amazing (went with Macallan). I had the bao buns (no chiles), which were delicious. The vibe was really nice, the place was buzzing but not overly loud or anything, especially for being a smaller space. There are several seats at the bar and a decent amount of tables. I took the pork belly sandwich (no carrots or chiles) and curly fries to go to share with a friend. It was actually really good. I'm not sure what category of food to put this place in because there are Vietnamese dishes, BBQ, burgers, and Spanish food; it's a nice mix. I would recommend trying it out.

We were in new York for pleasure and decided to go out. We found Beast wow!!! Loved the place my wife got the pulled pork sandwich and I got the smoked Peruvian chicken. We both loved our choices. In addition to the great food the Beast restaurant offers a great selection of bourbons. Highly recommend this place.

Honestly, this was a big disappointment. I’m not sure if they actually reheated my wings and brisket but they were dry as hell. Being from Texas, this was not even close to brisket. There was barely a smoke line. The bark was so-so. The wings… sad. They said that they’re smoked but I didn’t taste anything smoked. They were just so dry. It tasted a bit like they were refried. Maybe my standards are too high? I’m dunno but I wouldn’t spend $40 again on it.

Went apple picking and a worker recommended us to eat there. Was blown away by the food and service. I was expecting bar food, I ordered the half Peruvian chicken and was absolutely impressed. Tender Smokey chicken and the ribs were best I’ve ever had. Will be eating there every time I’m in the area. Service was excellent very friendly

Went for dinner recently and sat at the bar. The food was absolutely delicious with great BBQ selections. They have a massive whiskey list if you’re looking for something to sip on. I’m looking forward to trying brunch here next.
