Parks
Storm King Art Center is a sprawling 500-acre sculpture park that is open seasonally to the public. Visitors can enjoy tram tours, bike rentals and a cafe while taking in the beauty of the grounds and sculptures. It's recommended to wear comfortable shoes as there are inclines and walks through woods like a casual hike. Bundle up on cooler days as it gets chilly fast once the sun sets, but make sure not to leave before seeing all of the art on display.
As someone who is both an art and nature lover, visiting the Storm King Art Center was an unforgettable experience. Exploring the grounds as well as the special indoor art exhibition were truly a magical experiences. The park was incredibly easy to navigate, peaceful, and full of so many different artworks that are absolutely delightful to experience. There is something here for every art lover. There are also little carts available for people to ride on throughout the park in order to get to different parts of the area quickly and efficiently, which is great. I personally walked the entire time and would recommend wearing comfy, weather appropriate shoes and clothing, as well as bringing a water bottle and a snack (they permit picnics in the park as far as I know) The bathrooms were accessible and widely available and there were tons of areas and benches to sit at. I don’t regret visiting at all and will definitely be returning.

I had a fabulous time at Storm King Art Center. Upon entering, one of the funniest realizations I had about the energy of the space was actually while using the entrance bathroom. You're washing your hands in outdoor sinks, overlooking the foliage and trees. It was in that instant I knew I was going to enjoy my visit. You could say that the art of Storm King is within the contents of its very own landscape as sculptures and nature collide. I intentionally chose to visit during autumn when the tress started to change colors in the leaves, having been told that the change in color affects the interpretation and experience of the sculpture. It's true! I can imagine that visiting at different times throughout the year yields unique experiences. I had so much fun walking along the path; you can also rent a bike or take a tram while you're there as well if you decide. It was nice to see the park accessible to everyone, showing consideration for the visitors who were there. I also really enjoyed basking in the colossal sculptures, but was most excited to see one of Noguchi's work near the museum. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this open air museum at least once. It's a unique experience, and as a NYC native, I appreciated being able to see large works in that capacity. I've seen many galleries and museums, but this was just something special.
Jasmine — Google review
Absolutely breathtaking place — part outdoor museum, part nature escape. The massive sculptures scattered across open fields, hills, and trees make you feel like you’re walking through a dream landscape. Every turn gives you a new perspective — some pieces look completely different depending on where you stand. I went on a clear autumn day, and the colors of the trees mixed with the giant metal and stone sculptures were just stunning. It’s quiet, peaceful, and incredibly inspiring. You do need to walk a lot (or rent bikes or use the tram), so wear comfy shoes and bring water. The park is huge — easily a half-day or full-day visit if you want to see everything. Tickets are a bit pricey, but totally worth it for the experience. Perfect for art lovers, photographers, or anyone who just wants to be surrounded by beauty and space. Tip: Go early in the day, bring a hat and water, and take your time — it’s not about rushing, it’s about letting the art and landscape unfold around you.
Ada K — Google review
Amazing location! Gorgeous in the fall with the changing leaves and mountains. Lots of walking including hills and gravel paths. It took me almost four hours of nonstop walking to see everything. Definitely take the map offered with you. The scultures were hit or miss. Some winners and some "meh." I like Grounds for Sculpture outside Newark, NJ much better. Definitely worth a stop on a beautiful day and you want to get your steps in. They do offer trams throughout the park but you will miss half the sculptures if you stick to the trams. They offer bike rentals but you have to walk them on the gravel paths which are about half of the network. There are picnic tables in one area of the park and a small cafe.
K L — Google review
I spent 6 hours here and I barely got to look through everything. This place is very cool, even without the art, the nature and the picturesque views already makes this a top tier park to bring your kids to. The art adds a striking contrast that just looks really cool. Getting around the park is pretty easy. It's a huge park, but you don't need to walk it. There is a tram that comes around and brings you to all the different locations around the park. The tram is on time pretty much down to the minute. You can also ride around on a rented bike. I personally don't recommend this. It's really expensive and you can use up a lot of time if you want to stop and look at the art. Not to mention some of the paths where bikes aren't allowed and you need to walk your bike several hundred meters. Overall, this is an amazing place. I came here twice and it still blows my mind.

Lovely grounds to spend a few hours. Recommend during foliage! $25 entry per person. Can picnic on the grounds on the grass or at the picnic tables. The Maya Lin installment can be accessed inside each month from 15th to end of the month. Very special place to visit in Hudson Valley! Lots of parking on site available.
Maria Y — Google review
I went there for a field trip when I was a child and decided to bring my teen who’s interested in art. She loved it. She didn’t love all the walking. This is great if you want to spend the day hiking up steep hills. But, also good because if you choose not to walk they offer free trams to locations throughout the property. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy or dirty if you decide to walk to each installation. We had so much fun! Now for a well deserved nap. 😂

It was something unique to do. The place is huge with lots of artworks around. One of the best days because I got engaged. There is also an option to rent bikes if you are interested, if not waking is fine. The weather was great and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Park
Hudson Highlands State Park is a breathtaking expanse of over 8,000 acres nestled along the picturesque Hudson River. This stunning park boasts a variety of trails that cater to all fitness levels, making it an ideal destination for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers alike. Whether you're seeking serene vistas or challenging hikes, Hudson Highlands has something for everyone to enjoy amidst its natural beauty.
Great hiking trails and very convenient if you live in NYC. It’s only about an hour or so away, making it a perfect day trip. The park offers a variety of trails for all levels, from easy riverside walks to challenging hikes like Breakneck Ridge with stunning views of the Hudson River. The scenery is beautiful year-round, especially in the fall when the foliage is vibrant. It’s also accessible by train, which makes it hassle-free if you don’t want to drive. A must-visit spot for nature lovers, hikers, and anyone looking for a quick escape from the city.

We visited the state park in Cold Spring, NY. The park was okay, but the Bull Hill trail we took was a little disappointing. There was no view at the top, and the trail signs were not clear, which made it a bit confusing. Still, it was nice to walk in nature and get some fresh air. It’s better than nothing if you just want some outdoor time. But I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a great hiking experience or nice views.
Ainur T — Google review
I visited Hudson Highlands State Park for the first time to hike the Blue Trail, also known as the Cornish Trail. It was only my third time hiking, and that’s when I realized how much I love it, I definitely plan to hike more often. Although the Blue Trail is considered beginner-friendly, I found parts of it a bit challenging because of the incline. Still, the effort was worth it and the view of South Beacon Mountain was absolutely beautiful. The hike itself was a great experience, especially with friends. Near the train station, there are small shops where you can grab food, drinks, or any last-minute supplies. There are also restrooms by the station and a portable toilet near the trail. I would absolutely hike here again!

Hudson Highlands State Park is a fantastic place for a hike. The variety of trails makes it perfect for everyone, from beginners to experienced hikers, and you can choose a route that fits your schedule. The view from the viewpoint is simply breathtaking. The park's proximity to Cold Spring and the train station is a huge plus, making it very accessible for those without a vehicle

There are several trails in the area, and it is well-maintained and clean. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash. You can take a train that takes about 25 minutes to reach the start of the trail, and parking is also available. The views are incredible!

A beautiful place. Fresh air, lots of gorgeous trees, and you’ll find the cutest local squirrels. Heads up — if you like walking, this is a great spot! Just keep in mind that, like many big parks, there are a few risks: you might come across snakes, and there are ticks that can carry Lyme disease (there are signs warning about it). It’s best not to go alone since the park is quite large. During our visit, we saw three men drinking near the edge of the trail. Other than that, the park rangers are excellent — very kind to tourists. The local people aren’t particularly warm, but nature never loses its beauty. That’s the most important part. I hope this helps make your visit even better. 🌲✨

The best and breathtaking hike not far from NJ or NYC. Short hike trails (white) up to bull hill - Mt Taurus in challenging but enjoyable.

Andy's is a nearby establishment that offers a wide variety of breakfast options, burgers, and traditional American dishes in a laid-back setting. It caters to the energetic atmosphere of West Point with satisfying meals that are both generous in size and rich in taste. Start your day off right with their substantial omelets or indulge in delightful Nutella pancakes and waffles topped with ice cream. The portions at Andy's are notably large, attracting many locals who enjoy dining there multiple times.
Always a pleasure eating at Andy’s and the food is delicious! My photo shows the trucker special with egg whites and bacon. Portion is the perfect size and satisfies most individuals hunger. I also had an orange juice and enjoyed the cozy indoor atmosphere.

Yep! Yes, I did eat the whole thing and I want another one! Andy's was recommended by a wonderful person who works on the West Point campus. Thank you to you... We all found our happy, joy, joy food and were so glad we did. The folks working there were very friendly and food was so good. If we make it back to the area we will definitely stop in again.

*Great Food* *Hot Fresh Food Sometimes* *Slow under staffed Service* *Not Recommend if they're busy* The 1st visit I we were very pleased with the food & they actually brought it to us HOT thank you, they have a pretty decent size menu with plenty of options. Our only complaints would be the under staffed servers. I would love to rate a 5 star but the water was just way to undrinkable, is a reverse osmosis to expensive for restaurants since they do not charge for water? Seems like they'd have some type of water filtration so the water isn't so disgusting. The restaurant was packed when we came on a Sunday at 12:30pm it's strange they didn't have more than one server tending to customers. They have really great tasting food and the biscuits and gravey is amazing & we can't wait to have them again, hopefully they have bottled water next time or we will just bring our own water. We will definitely be returning to this location again in the future. Came back two more times the second visit was the best, this last time was absolutely terrible, the biscuits and gravey were cold and the bacon was rubbery, I even asked for the bacon to be well done & extra crispy I also asked fmto please make sure that my biscuits and gravey are HOT! I know she heard me but she didn't care apparently, we will never come back unless it's not busy. **Updated Review** Yes It's perfect when they're not busy! Our food today was absolutely perfect and HOT 🔥 we came on Wednesday when they were not busy, they have very good food.

Arenas & Stadiums
Michie Stadium is a medium-sized sports venue located at the United States Military Academy. It hosts various sporting events, including NCAA Division 1 football games and baseball matches. The stadium offers a great view of the field with plenty of seating for spectators. Visitors can also explore the rich history and cultural significance of the academy, as well as enjoy breathtaking views of the Hudson River. The energetic atmosphere during game days makes it an exciting experience for military personnel, families, and friends alike.
Michie Stadium is one of the best college football stadium's in the US! Here is an experience like no other. The setting for the stadium is the beautiful and historic West Point campus. On a nice day you can see many of the buildings on the campus, and the surrounding Hudson Highlands. The stadium is home to the Army Black Knights. Currently, the stadium is undergoing renovations, but it doesn't take much away from the viewing experience. Most games start with a paratrooper delivering the game ball to the referee at center field. If the weather is not right for that a helicopter flyover is still a part of the game experience. It also easy to spot the Army Cadets inside the stadium in uniform, as most come to the games. When Army scores be ready for some cannon booms from the lake behind the stadium. Most of the seats in the stadium are metal bleachers. Sightlines to the field are very good. There are concession stands in the stadiums and they serve the standard football game food staples. For a stadium prices are fair. Lines to some of the concession stands can be long during the game. The fan experience here is very good. You will not see too many rowdy fans. Instead, there is a nice laid back experience for most in the crowd. Pregame tailgating is popular here. The cadets do take the field before the game and line in up in formation. No other place delivers on as much history and pageantry as West Point. Be sure to get your tickets online. Do to renovations there are a few less seats than usual this year. Michie Stadium delivers a great and memorable experience for all.
Ryan M — Google review
Michie Stadium was well-organized and the staff was friendly. The women's bathroom line was incredibly fast. They sold beer, although I had heard it was a dry stadium. The history and tradition is really fun to experience.
Kristen R — Google review
What a beautiful stadium, unfortunately its not finished with renovations, but still a great atmosphere! Beautifully placed with great views of field as well as surrounding landscape.the sound of the canons echoing throughout the stadium is incredible.I will definitely visit again.
M P — Google review
All good things must come to an end. Michie Stadium, once home to one of the legendary views in all of sports has inexplicably given in to capitalism, and blocked off the view of the Hudson River. Across from the bleachers The Military Academy is building another set of stands. While the construction isn't complete, it looks like this will be nothing but luxury boxes and suites, ensuring that the wealthiest donors and most connected politicians see the beautiful Hudson. Meanwhile, the parents of the cadets, who will one day, defend our nation, can stand in 10 minute lines for limited concessions and a view of suited corporate fat cats, pressing the flesh for a new defense contract. The joy is supposed to be in the pageantry of the USMA. However, interminable lines for tickets and concessions limit your enjoyment, as you are guaranteed to miss a significant portion of the game. There is a Fenway quality to Michie- the architectural quirks are part of its charm. But a creative mind could do a lot to enhance its charm. Regrettably, no one creative seems to be on staff, and they are simply building the appalling monstrosity on the visitors side.
Matthew M — Google review
Whats to say, we love the stadium, facilities, area, and in general West Point grounds. The stadium is well staffed, easy parking with ample shuttle service from lots to the stadium. The restrooms are clean, food service is quick and fresh food choices. Typical stadium food choices, which is preferable. The only snag today (Sept 20th, 2025), was the entrance to the stadium. Security check point was overwhelmed with the amount of persons gaining access and we waited over 30 minutes to get to the scanner, missing the kick off and firstb4 minutes of play as well as the parachute jump. We attend yearly for the last 12 seasons, never encountered this issue, always arriving early enough not to rush, so I will write it off as a one-time snag, not a snafu.

We went for my nephew's graduation from west point 5/26/24. The staff is very helpful. So are peeps from the community that are repeat visitors. It was a hot sunny day. We much enjoyed President Biden's speech and the band. The bus and shuttle service cater to the elderly and handicapped, allowing them to enjoy the day as well.

Medium size stadium, lots of seats and great view of field. Cadets football is played here . A long outstanding History and very old Academy. Many historical and cultural events and things to see. The Hudson River is breathtakingly awesome to see. Many places to go. Plaques and signs describe all things. Great millitary, families and friends to learn and spend a day. Great food with long tradition. Tasty desserts and wide selection of drinks hot and cold. Present, energetic environment. Helpful people and kind staff.

American restaurant
Riverview is a charming riverside venue in Cold Spring, offering a mix of classic bistro fare and innovative American dishes with a focus on seasonal ingredients. The restaurant provides panoramic views of the Hudson River, creating a delightful dining experience. With its cozy ambiance and neighborhood feel, it's an ideal spot to indulge in wood-fired pizzas, pastas, seafood, and fusion cuisine. The separate bar area adds to the charm, while the menu features a variety of specials alongside its regular offerings.
A few things worth a 5 star review. They serve a local beer from my favorite Upward brewing company in Woodstock. They are dog friendly and were very kind and attentive to my dog, she was very thirsty after a hike and was given some water, even before I got one, she’s got some treats too :) Food was delicious (beyond meat burger with cutest skinny French fries and today’s special - cucumber gazpacho, divine). I enjoyed cozy and classy atmosphere and the restaurant wasn’t busy during lunch time on Wednesday. The staff is extremely friendly, caring and i enjoyed chatting with Trisha. They take Venmo.

It’s cash only. We ordered from the daily special menu plus the pizzas for the kids. The mussels were just so so, and I had better in a place just a short distance away for less. I did not care about the pasta at the bottom of my dish. The pork dish was delicious. The kids liked the cheese pizza. The dinner bread had good flavors. Yet, at the end of our meal, the dishes seemed to be collected in a rush, and I felt rushed to finish. And we left without ordering dessert. If I did not carry enough cash with me, I won’t go there.

Our first visit as a family - including our happy pup - all out on the patio under a golden fall sunset. I visited in 2023 with my mom and it was just as amazing then as it was tonight. In fact she still remembered it when I texted her photos and she reminded me they had the best key lime pie ever (not on the menu this eve.) I have probably eaten at thousands of restaurants of all kinds and classes and this spot stands out. My son summed it up precisely when he opined that Riverview is what the aspiration of casual fine dining looks like. I can’t agree more. Go.

This past Saturday night, we had such a wonderful dining experience! Our waitress was absolutely fantastic—she anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made the evening flow seamlessly. The food was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. The ambiance was nice and welcoming, with just the right amount of energy in the room. It was busy but never felt overwhelming. The only downside was that the temperature was a bit warm—improving the air conditioning would make the experience even better. Aside from that, everything else was fantastic, and we would definitely return!

After a great day in Cold Spring I really tried to give this restaurant the benefit of a doubt. When walking in, the hostess, a women with blonde hair, stared at us. I didn’t mind it, but I was confused on where to sit and if we were even in the right entrance. After eventually being seated and after about 15 minutes of having our meal, my friend spotted at least 2 MICE running back and forth past the entrance to the main seating area. My friend let the waitress and hostess know, but the waitress looked at us, sighed, and said “ I apologize for the inconvenience,” while the hostess just seemed to walk away. We already felt unwelcome upon our first interaction so we tried to be polite and even said it’s not your fault. After this, I then saw a mouse jump by a woman’s foot by the table next to us and they obviously began getting nervous as well. The four of us including the two other guests at the neighboring table, tried to tell the hostess, but the hostess really didn’t have a response. The whole dining experience felt really uncomfortable, unfortunately, almost like I was intruding in someone’s house the way that the hostess would look at us when walking by our table…on top of this, we asked for two boxes, the waitress looked very confused and upset- I didn’t want to inconvenience her when I realized this was possibly an odd request by her reaction, but this is how our food was wrapped. Still gave a generous tip because I know how difficult serving can be, but was very disheartened by this entire experience. I’m honest so I will say the food was great and the bus staff was excellent (the waitress and hostess were very upsetting) Will never be giving this resturant my money again and will be notifying the health department.
Alyssa P — Google review
Solidly mediocre food. Overall, the service was fine, but our server was passive aggressive and a bit rude. We didn’t take it personally because they were clearly over run with visitors. We waited about 45 minutes for our meal (3 salads and 1 cheese pizza, 1 burger, and 1 salmon), didn’t get bread until after our meal was served, and when we asked for the check because we needed to catch a train, our waitress said she would wait until we had finished (so she could offer us coffee and dessert, is my best guess). I will probably eat somewhere else the next time I’m in Cold Spring.

Can't say enough great things about this spot. The service was awesome, our waitress was so sweet and made the night extra special. The food was delicious and the place was just right- beautiful view, quiet, soft lighting and perfect ambience for a lovely evening. We came here after a hike on Bear Mountain and were very hungry. Didn't want to eat at the Restaurant at The Inn and looked elsewhere and really glad we found this place. Highly recommend.

Fast food restaurant
Burger King is a popular fast-food establishment known for its flame-grilled burgers, crispy fries, and delectable milkshakes. Contrary to some negative reviews, this eatery offers a pleasant dining experience. Many patrons have fond memories of visiting with friends after long weeks of studying or training as cadets. Returning recently, one customer ordered the deluxe Chicking sandwich and found it to be moist and flavorful.
I legitimately got the nicest most well-made burgers and wrap that I've gotten from any of the mainstream fast food restaurants in a very long time. The gal behind the counter made our sandwiches nicely and not the usual fast and sloppy. It may have been because it was after the lunch rush and they weren't very busy, but they were made very nicely nonetheless. She also added some extra spicy sauce to my wrap when I asked.

It’s pretty much the worst BK I’ve been to. The young kids that work there don’t give a damn, the one older lady is doing the best she can but 1 person making all the food is not a recipe for success.
Nicholas T — Google review
I love Burger King, but this one is the worst. You’d expect better simply because it’s a West Point establishment, but it’s not just Burger King that comes up short on that logic. Polite, but incompetent staff. I get about an hour for my lunch break, and the one time I chose this place for food, I spent almost a half hour waiting for it. And that’s if they haven’t closed ridiculously early on you.
Nomarjj — Google review
This place is not as bad as what some of the reviews saying. I had great memories with friends coming here after a long academic week or training when I was a cadet. It felt like a treat back then. I recently came back to visit and ordered the deluxe Chicking sandwich. It was juicy and delicious. 😋 😁

The biggest cheapskates in prices. This place is the Mr. Crabs of Burger King. They dont accept online coupons such as the 37 cent whopper and are really annoying with charging for ranch and condiments. Always a stressful annoying experience going here.
Andrew W — Google review
I made the mistake of eating at tacobell but in this place you can hear everything... the manager knew his stuff! He took the time to explain each item to the customer and treated them like he was happy to have them! There was almost never a line do only to the quickness of their service!
Jeremiah H — Google review
Not to talk bad about nowhere but everytime I’m here the fries are soggy from leaving them in the heat and i get a stomachache no matter what i eat. Mind you this i been to other burger kings and im all right.

Poorly run took 20 mins to get food food called all out of order when people had same one. Worst bk I have ever been to. Will not return to this one!

The West Point Museum is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, offering a deep dive into the history of the U.S. military. The museum houses an impressive collection of artifacts and documents, providing detailed exhibits that shed light on the past exploits and endeavors of American servicemen and women. It is dedicated to preserving the rich history of West Point and offers educational programs for cadets, service members, and the general public.
My dad and I just came here to tour the museum. We didn't get to look at the grounds but we visited the museum. The building was under restoration so we had to use the bathrooms in another building. To just see the museum there were no entry requirements. There is no cost either. But the exhibits were very well done. Lots of good stuff to see from different time periods in American history. We really like to look at stuff so it took us about 3 hours to go through both floors that were open. There were exhibits on military history in general, the US Army and of West Point itself. Enjoyed our visit.

Amazing museum full of artifacts! It was fun and informative too. My friends and I went from one level to another and we were blown away by how great the masterpieces and all its historical interests. As this was a late review, I remember vividly that the museum was well kept and the staff there were incredIbly friendly. Best of all, the admission was free.

Excellent tour. Buy your tickets in advance as they sell out. Our tour guide Melanie was great lots of interesting and fun information. Some of the tour is on a bus but there are a couple places to get out and look around. Arrive early or stay longer so you have time to check out the museum and visitors center.

Being from Bastogne, Belgium. West Point has always been a place to visit on my list. Not only because Gen. Patton but because of the stories, the courage and I have to say...watching the movie " The Long Gray Line" movie seen many times with grandparents, father and then my own children. It was truly an honor for me to be there. I will come back while visiting family and friends. There is so much more I want to see. Thank you for making me feel welcome and listening to my family stories of their experiences during WWI and WWII. I shall return 😉☺️❤️

The Frederic V. Malek West Point Visitors Center is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the rich history of the U.S. Army and the prestigious West Point Academy. This free museum offers an engaging experience, featuring a captivating video that delves into the academy's past and provides insights into cadet life. Visitors can also enjoy stunning views of the Hudson River from its lobby. Many guests have found themselves pleasantly surprised by the wealth of information and beauty housed within this center.
Where you get bus tours or asks information, they accept cash only! They instruct you where the atm is. Clean restroom, spacious lobby, beautiful vista on hudson lake. See images for reference.

Definitely, a place to visit. While it is the United States Military Academy, it is full of history and a very scenic place sitting above the. Hudson River. The museum is free, and you can walk around, but they do offer a bus tour.
Neil Y — Google review
Loved the Visitor's Center. I came after booking a bus tour. While waiting for the tour to start, I started walking through the visitor's center but only got a few rooms in and I had noticed 30 minutes had flown by. I returned later after the tour and finished the visitor's center, which took me about an hour to complete. The visitor's center has a ton of modern and interesting exhibits about West Point, its history and the academy's 4-year curriculum, which I found very interesting. I was thrilled to learn of what the cadets go through, from their first day through graduation. There are a few interactive exhibits including two movie rooms. I also found out that the visitor's center and neighboring museum are both completely free! You do not need to book any tour or obtain a pass to visit these buildings. Currently, masks are required in both buildings at all time. I highly recommend the visitor's center, museum and bus tour ($18 ish) to everyone of all ages.
Jemlnlx — Google review
The Visitors Center is lovely, with clean restrooms and an extensive gift shop. The highlight for us was "The West Point Experience." It was an impressive exhibit. It started with a short movie covering the history of West Point and an overview of its mission and focus. We then walked through the interactive, multi-media section which again touched on the history of the institution, and then went into detail about the 47 month long journey of a cadet at West Point. Well worth the time, and it's free!
David S — Google review

Eisenhower Hall Theatre, also known as Ike Hall, is a prominent venue located at West Point campus. It hosts a variety of performances including Broadway shows, concerts, ballets, and off-Broadway productions. The theater offers a spacious setting with seating that provides good views from different vantage points. Visitors can enjoy the elegant atmosphere and unique experience of being on the West Point campus while attending events at this grand theater.
It was good to see Eisenhower Hall full again for Come From Away. Great performance and our meal at Ike Cafe was delicious.
Arthur J — Google review
Very nice and clean. Air conditioning kept it very comfortable. The only problem was the positioning of the seats for such a large theater. They could’ve stacked each row higher or offset the seats. Having someone even your own height, sitting in front of you somewhat obstructed your view. Overall very nice place.
Randy C — Google review
Great venue for concerts. Easy to get there, cafe restaurant on site, orderly seating, restrooms plentiful.
Suzie Q — Google review
Wow this place is BIG! We went here to see Stomp! and had a great time. The experience of being on base at West Point is always fun and the atmosphere at Ike Hall is unique. When getting tickets be aware that it's a huge space and not like the theaters on Broadway where every seat seems close. We sat in Row W seats 101-102 (left orchestra on the aisle) but wish we were closer. It was a great value and I'm not complaining, but I would jump on the purchase sooner next time.to be close to the stage. Another big plus is that the drinks at the bar before the show are very reasonable ($5-6 for beer/wine/spirits). Just be aware that you can't bring drinks or food into the show. If you live within 45 min or so of West Point you'd be crazy not to see a show or concert here. Finally, getting onto base is not hard at all but parking requires some walking so be prepared for that.
Tristan W — Google review
Attended a Ballet performance of the Dance Theater of Harlem at this wonderful theater. It's a beautiful venue, a very spacious theater, located at West Point, and offers beautiful views of the Hudson Valley. The seating is very accommodating, and the view from Balcony 1 wasn't terrible for the price of the tickets. There are a couple of restaurants inside the theater building, a casual dining area, offering cafeteria style dining, as well as more a upscale dining room. There is a cash bar set up with beverages and light snacks - chips, etc. as well. There's also a few fast food options located on the base, Burger King, Subway, Taco Bell. Overall a very nice experience

The Russel Wright Design Center, also known as Manitoga, is a historical landmark with 75 acres of beautiful landscape. It offers three hiking trails to choose from, including the .75-mile Wickopee Trail Loop that features a Log Bridge stream crossing. The preserve is open daily during daylight hours and requires tickets for house tours. Designed by maverick designer Russel Wright, the house showcases unique designs and architectural elements.
Fascinating, beautiful and entertaining tour! The guide and shop workers were very knowledgeable and informative and really made it a lovely day! The picnic area is secluded and quiet. We highly recommend this "hidden gem" in Garrison!!! One note: wear sturdy shoes because the trails and interior floors are uneven and can be tricky to navigate.

Grounds and trails are free, but I highly recommend paying for the tour of the home and study. Stunning views and design sense. The tour winds through the woods up around the quarry/water and ends at the house. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and interesting.

I attended the Design - Art - Nature Tour of Manitoga as an introduction to this special place and look forward to more exploration of the property and event attendance in the future. I respect Wright for what he created and all of the folks who serve to protect it to this day.

I didn't tour the house, only hiked the woodland trails. About 4 miles which feature several scenic overlook points with seasonal views. Highest point is about 600' at the Lost Pond. Other points of interest include the mossy overlook, fern meadow & the laurel field. There are lots of stepping stones & bridges to keep you out of the mud & make it easier going up & down the hills. Really enjoyed.

I only walked around the grounds. The view of the river is extraordinary. I also saw a flock of wild turkeys. You can apples picked from their orchard. I got there too late to do the house tour. I did use the trail on the property to walk over to the Audubon Society's marsh boardwalk which ended up taking 45 minutes to get there and some steep rocky hills at the end.

I remember visiting this wonderful house and gardens before covid and when my wife and I just started dating. I don't remember what date this was but it was memorable . We arrived by train from nyc to a very nice town of cold springs. there is tour guides and the guide we had was very knowledgeable. There was about 10 of us on the tour. As we walked through the mansion the guide took his time explaining the history of the house. We ended outside . The grounds were magical and well kept and some member's of the family is buried there. The town the house and the gardens are all a must see.

Really disappointing. It is one of two AAFES restaurants on post, and it fails to serve our community’s needs on a regular basis. Closing hours before advertised, putting ONE slice of roast beef on a 6-inch sub, always running out of condiments. I understand that many of the employees are young, but it seems like some of the issues are out of their control. West Point deserves better. A restaurant operated this poorly would never remain open off post.

We ordered a salmon cake, chicken burger, broccoli rabe, corn salad and a pretzel stick to share. It came up to $40. Everything is sold by weight. Every single thing we ordered was absolutely delicious, fresh and very flavorful. My husband and I were both very happy with our meal that we enjoyed al fresco by the Hudson. 5 solid stars; highly recommended!

Wow! So happy I found this place. My husband and I came up from the city to hike yesterday and stopped by here on our way to the trailhead to grab some sandwiches to eat along our hike. Both of our sandwiches were fresh and delicious. When we saw the baked goods, we both had to get one and they were incredible. I'm still dreaming about that berry scone. Will definitely be stopping by here before all of our hikes moving forward. On a side note: you all should make little take away bags/picnic kits for hikers! I loved eating my yummy sandwich with a view at the top and I'm sure others would too!

Bear Mountain was a wonderful mini family getaway. If you love the outdoors this is a great place to spend a few days. We stayed in the Overlook Lodge because it was pet friendly. The grounds are beautiful and there are many hiking options. The walkway all around Hessian Lake was wonderful and the Zoo was fun. We had a great stay with our Golden Retriever although $60 a day is a bit steep. We would definitely stay here again though!

I attended a training conference with several of my colleagues. The Staff is friendly and professional. The Room is nice ,spacious ,clean and the Bed is comfortable. Its over looking a lake. Lots of activities for the entire family with a beautiful pool. Will definitely be coming back with my family.

Loretta, the host at the Bear Mountain Inn, was incredibly warm and hospitable genuinely welcoming and sincere. The food at both the restaurant and café was surprisingly good. We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Rooms were well kept and clean. The inn is within walking distance to the zoo, public pool, carousel, and hiking trails, which made exploring the area easy and enjoyable.
Wendy L — Google review
The area surrounding the Inn is great. It’s absolutely beautiful and would be great for hiking. However the Inn itself (we stayed in a lodge queen room) was horrible for the price we paid. The room was tiny, especially the bathroom. You couldn’t open the door all the way because it would hit the sink and my husband (6ft 2in tall) had a hard time. His knees hit the wall when using the toilet. The room was clean but beat up. Do not eat at 19/15 restaurant. The service was horrible as was the food. A couple who ordered before us never got their food after 2 hours. We told them it was for the better because the food was lukewarm and tasteless. If you like risking food poisoning, spending a lot of money, and wasting time, you’ll love the restaurant. I do not suggest this Inn or restaurant. I’d fine somewhere else to stay.

We had such a nice family getaway here at Bear Mountain. The grounds, being in the Bear Mountain State Park, have so many activities for all to enjoy. We walked about five miles a day on the beautiful trails around the lake, into the zoo, to the carousel etc. Great view of mountain and lake. Pedal Boat rentals were a family favorite. This location was so easy to get to from NYC. We will be back.

Not thrilled with the restaurant. Very overpriced and not that great food. The good thing is that its in the hotel that’s been there since the early 1900’s. It wasn’t the big restaurant it was on the second floor next to the tea brunch. It had a smaller menu. We sat outside which was very nice. My receipt said it was the 1915 restaurant but it wasn’t the one with the better menu. Just wanted to clarify that.

Located just beyond the entrance of West Point, South Gate Tavern is a popular local pub that offers an extensive collection of Irish memorabilia. This authentic establishment is known for its delicious Irish cuisine and wide selection of drinks. For a classic and satisfying meal, it is recommended to indulge in one of their hearty sandwiches paired with a perfectly poured pint of Guinness. In addition to its charming atmosphere, South Gate Tavern also boasts entertainment options such as a Led Zeppelin pinball machine and a jukebox.
We were in from out of town and had a great time here for St.Paddys day. They have a Led Zeppelin pinball machine, a jukebox and an awesome bar. They are cash only so bring lots of cash if you plan on drinking for a while!

Just okay. The place has a through back ambiance. The barkeep was not very attentive. My pizza order took a road trip. I should have been offered a free beer for the mishap. The pizza was sub par and pricey. The bathroom could use some attention. Definitely a locals joint.

Lots of good memories at the South Gate Tavern. My other favorite was The Radio Bar; which has a speaker at the entrance....playing music to those walking along Main Street.

They charge $6 for chips and salsa, bar tender changes prices whenever she wants. They don't care for construction workers, cash only, wonder why? Ask for a drink a certain way and they ask you if you really need it that way. My crew used to go there and spend $300 every time! Better places to go than here! The quality of the food is as cheap as it comes!

Restaurant
My husband and I visited MacArthur's Riverview Restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The staff warmly welcomed us upon arrival, with the hostess being friendly and the waiter Jeff providing excellent service. Jeff was not only kind but also knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu which featured exceptional dishes. We enjoyed everything from the spinach dip with waffle fries to the steak with garlic butter and mouthwatering butternut squash ravioli.
We went to the Thayer over the July 4 (2025) weekend. My scoring on food (dinner, Zulu lounge, and Sunday Brunch) is based on the entire experience not a niggling thing here or there. It was either exceptional or not - nothing in between. It has been about 25 years since my last visit and happy to report the experience from food to service and everything in between - was exceptional. Our server Monica was terrific and took special care of not only us but all of the patrons she cared for. She was awesome so was this total experience dining at the Thayer. Can hardly wait to get back there. Highly recommend visiting this great and historic Hotel.

Went for Sunday brunch and it was decently good. Multiple options such as stuffed shells, waffles, potatoes, scrambled eggs, etc but was not blown away. Dessert section was quite large but nothing too insane or unique other than the chocolate fountain. It wasn’t that busy either for a Sunday. They don’t accept Amex which is surprising but you do get a military discount with ID. Overall wouldn’t go back since it didn’t wow me for the price of $52 per person (before tax/tips)

Overall glad I went. Be prepared to spend $100 per person for dinner without drinks. Great for the historic building, River view and visiting West Point. The night I went there was a strong musty smell upon entering the restaurant but it seemed confined to the entrance. It’s a huge space and no one else was there so I thought it was a bizarre choice when they seated a couple with a baby literally within arms reach of my table. I have nothing against babies but they’re bound to make a fuss, and since COVID we shouldn’t be breathing down each others necks. Maybe they were seated there for a good view of the Hudson or some good reason. In any case it’s an honor to visit West Point - my cousin was a colonel and was recently buried there. Bottom line the food is decent but not your first reason to go.

This restauraunt has amazing food! Don't let the look of the seafiod risotto fool you! It exploded with taste and every bite was savory and delicous! Salad was a decent portion and fresh! The atmosphere is amazing! The view of the Hudson River from the balcony is breathtaking and relaxing. There is a quaint little garden below the restauraunt overlooking the river with all sorts of flowers. The daisies and black-eyed susans really set it off! I took a photo with Sandy who has been a server at the restaurant for over 20 years. She said she was the first to receive her 5-star pin! Her and the rest of the staff were awesome and friendly! The inside has a victorian feel that is relaxing as well. Wonderfully designed! A must try if you are in the area or staying at the hotel!

Service was terrible. Head waitress had a condescending attitude. Drink orders were never taken. We each had to ask for our drinks after we received our appetizers, she still forgot my son’s drink. After about 10 min we tried to grab her attention and she put her finger up at us, motioning to wait and kept walking. The food was bland and overpriced. The seafood risotto was water and the actual risotto was still hard, did not have any flavor. Prime rib was ordered medium well, it came rare, and didn’t even have salt and pepper on it. The best dish served were the biscuits off of the app menu. An empty dining room and poor online ratings, management should be more involved in the day to day operations.
Bianca S — Google review
The food was excellent but the service was terrible. Upon entering the restaurant, we were taken outside and asked to select a table that we would like to sit at. I picked one that had a great view of the river, but there was another party that had just left so they needed to clear the table. They seated us before the table was cleared and all they did was take away the remaining food and utensils, etc. The white tablecloth was covered in crumbs and they left that there. They gave us some menus. I had asked them if they can replace the tablecloth and give us a clean one. My server’s name was Talia. We ordered two lemon waters and one Coke with grenadine because they didn’t have a cherry Coke to start. We were brought two lemon waters and a Sprite with grenadine. I told her I did not order that and would like a Coke with grenadine. She said she would bring it right out and we never saw her Because she either forgot or just didn’t feel the need to do it. So I had to ask again when she came to order our food. She took my order and then took the order of the second person in our party and then turned back to me and asked me what I would like to order. I told her that she already took my order And then went on to take our third person in our parties order. At this point, we finished our waters and we’re looking around and other people had carafes on their table so that they can refill their water glasses. Our server was nowhere to be found. I went inside and spoke with a manager about this whole situation And so she ended up, bringing out us a carafe of water and apologizing and bringing out my daughters Coke with grenadine. Our food finally arrives and it looks delicious. But there’s one problem because we have no silverware or napkins and the server Talia was no longer to be found again. So I had to go back inside and ask for Silverware and napkins. We ate our lunch and there was another party sitting at the table next to us and their son somehow ended up leaning on top of their table and it collapsed and the glasses fell off and broke. It was such a fiasco. They ended up giving us a 20% discount on our bill.

We had an amazing guide GLENN for our West Point tour. It was a natural to make a reservation at The Thayer for lunch. We walked in to an almost completely empty, huge restaurant that resembled the dining room in a nursing home and smelled like a room deodorizer. They were accommodating when we asked to sit out on the patio overlooking the beautiful view of the Hudson. Every table had oversized dirty tablecloths that looked so unappealing and left from a decade ago. Our server was nice enough to put on a fresh cloth before seating us. Three of the four asked if it would be possible to order the Caesar Salad with a scoop of their chicken salad, rather than the grilled chicken add on. Initially the server said the kitchen wouldn’t do it, but we all begged, and she returned with the good news that they would accommodate us. Boy, we didn’t know what we were in for. When our lunch arrived we had a Caesar Salad with something that resembled a lump of puréed food in the shape of a chicken breast all patted together. It was dry, inedible and just pathetic. Do chefs taste the food they serve beforehand? Or for that matter see how a plate looks before sending it out to the guest? This place had needed a complete overhaul for at least 10 years!! That was the last time we were there and had a very similar experience. I was sure it had to have improved. For such a prestigious institution WEST POINT should hold their restaurant to the same standards they do their Cadets!! Don’t go, McDonalds is a way better choice!

We went on June 29th 2025. Had been here many years ago. The atmosphere is nice great views of the Hudson River. They have a piano player which added to the atmosphere. They had a great verity of foods from waffles to carving station, but I personally did feel the food was high end food. The pice was 58 per person there were 5 in our party. Our server was not very attentive, I actually had to put our used plates on the serving tray when we were done, after she walked by a few time, and it wasn’t just our table. I would not recommend it.

Located on the rooftop of The Thayer Hotel, Zulu Time Rooftop Bar & Lounge is a delightful retreat for those seeking relaxation on campus. This hidden gem in the Hudson Valley offers stunning views and a welcoming atmosphere. Open seasonally, visitors can enjoy an ever-changing selection of cocktail specials and recommended wines from the friendly bartenders. With its great food, including Reuben sandwiches and burgers, Zulu Time is a perfect spot to unwind after a busy day.
My visit to Zulu Time Rooftop Bar and Lounge was an absolute delight from start to finish. If you're looking for a laid-back, scenic place to enjoy great food, drinks, and company, this spot checks all the boxes. First of all, the location and atmosphere are unbeatable. Perched right on the rooftop, the bar offers a stunning view overlooking the Hudson River — it's especially beautiful during sunset. There’s ample seating, including both tables and comfy lounge chairs, so you can really relax and take in the vibe. It never felt overcrowded or cramped, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Now let’s talk about the food — wow! We ordered the buffalo wings, Caesar salad, and pretzel bites, and every dish exceeded expectations. The wings were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of heat, the Caesar salad was fresh and well-dressed, and the pretzel bites were soft, warm, and paired with a fig mustard dipping sauce that was honestly out of this world. It added such a unique twist and was one of the highlights of the night. Our server, Caitlin, was another standout. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly attentive without ever being intrusive. She anticipated our needs, made great menu recommendations, and genuinely added to the positive atmosphere. And let’s not forget — she makes an amazing margarita. Perfectly balanced and so refreshing, it was hands-down one of the best I’ve had in a long time. Overall, Zulu Time offers a wonderful mix of chill rooftop vibes, quality service, and flavorful food and drinks. Whether you're meeting up with friends, going on a casual date, or just looking for a cool place to unwind after work, this spot is a solid choice. I highly recommend Zulu Time to anyone in the area or visiting — you won’t be disappointed. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Nice outdoor lounge, good drink specials, regular prices are higher than to be expected. The food was well prepared and presented, prices for food was good. The views of the Hudson River are great, especially on the August evening we were there. Our server was not the sharpest knife in the drawer, several items came wrong, some corrected and some not bothered with.

Was very excited to try this place out but very disappointed. We ordered queso and chips as an appetizer and a Philly cheese steak hoagie for our dinner around 6pm. It took almost 2 hours to get our order. Once the food finally arrived, it was very cold and not edible. We experienced long wait times on drinks as well. Multiple customers were complaining to the wait staff and having to go to the bar to order drinks and pay their tabs. The bar manager was standing around and looked very confused on what to do. SAVE YOUR MONEY, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!

They are off to a great start! They implemented a new ordering system through your phone with food to be delivered directly your table, and I believe this is a huge improvement! Still need to work the kinks with making drink timing work in this system, but overall it was a vast improvement from the past service experience. The new cocktails in food on the menu are awesome! Spicy margarita was great and Tina poke was delicious. The new servers were great! I’m excited for the rest of summer at Zulu!

Buffalo Soldier Field at the Military Academy at West Point is a tribute to the 9th and 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiments, featuring a memorial rock and a monument honoring the Buffalo Soldiers. The field offers beautiful views of the Hudson River and Thayer Hotel, making it an ideal spot for visitors. While not always accessible for recreational use, it provides an inspiring statue of a Buffalo Soldier. Additionally, it serves as a parking area during football games with convenient shuttle services available.
The Buffalo Soldier Monument makes a nice touch to Buffalo Soldier Field. Its location directly across from the Bowling Center makes it worth checking out. The field itself is no different than any other field, but it is a beautiful area under the right conditions and time of day. You get a nice view of the Hudson River and Thayer Hotel.

The Hudson House River Inn is a historic 19th-century hotel that offers charming, updated rooms and suites, some with water views. The staff is known for being incredibly friendly and accommodating, making guests feel comfortable and welcomed. The restaurant serves tasty and creative drinks, though some have noted that the drink special may be watered down. The patio seating by the river provides a great dining environment away from downtown's hustle and bustle.
My family and I visited the restaurant this past weekend to celebrate my birthday. What a beautiful place! It’s located in a picture perfect location, place is cleaned, beautifully decorated, and the staff makes you feel like you are family! Their freshly made bread with their tomatoes and chickpeas are a great way to start a special meal. We all order different things and everything was good, specially the salmon (one of the best salmon I’ve had). Our waitress Amy was amazing and I cannot wait to go back for breakfast to taste her recommended popovers! 10/10 experience!

I never do reviews but this place needs one. We had lunch over the weekend. Food was OK. Shrimp was good. However my wife got up to use the restroom, when she came back she said it was so filthy she could not use it. She took photos and showed our waitress. Our waitress proceeded to shrug her shoulders, giggle at the photos and said "oh well, it's not my job". The rudest response ever. Employees need a lesson on team work. Nice views.

Quaint historic hotel built in 1830, amazing views, (picture is from the balcony of our room- highly recommend getting a balcony room!), wonderful and welcoming staff, very nice restaurant right on premises. Great place to stay as a home base for visiting Hudson Valley, with dedicated free parking for the hotel and a convenient walk to town. And Cold Spring is a beautiful small town with a lot of shops and restaurants yet is small and walkable. Some things about the hotel are old, so need to understand it as having the charm of a period piece not a glass and marble modern sterility.
John C — Google review
This review is just for the restaurant at Hudson House River Inn, not the hotel. The setting is beautiful—right on the river with great views. It’s a really peaceful spot to sit and eat, and the space itself has strong "country club, sweater vest" energy (if that's your vibe). Clean, quiet, and a bit formal. The brunch menu looked promising, but the food was pretty underwhelming. The hollandaise sauce on the eggs tasted more like Caesar or French dressing—not what you expect. The fruit parfait martini was mostly just some fruit in a glass with barely any yogurt or granola. It didn’t look very appealing and didn’t taste like much either. The kids' pizza was fine, just very small. Service overall was good and the staff was friendly. But one weird moment: I went to the bathroom and while I was gone, my server cleared my lobster bisque—even though it was only half-eaten. Would’ve appreciated being asked first. It’s a nice spot for the views and calm atmosphere, but the food needs work, especially at those prices.

We didn’t stay at the inn this time, but we’re already planning to come back and book a room—the property is beautiful, right on the river, and feels like the perfect peaceful getaway. We had dinner at their restaurant, which offers scenic views of the Hudson and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. There’s a charming outdoor patio that feels like a living room, but we chose to sit inside at a white-linen table that felt bright, cozy, and a bit more formal—perfect for a relaxed but special meal. We started with the Crab Cakes and Fried Chicken Dumplings. The dumplings is ok nothing special , and couldn’t taste the lemongrass base on the describe on the menu. But the lobster bisque is so yummy 🤤 but the crab cakes came in small portions (three petite pieces), but delicious and we hoped for just a bit more. For the main, we had the stuffed cod and shrimp with crab meat—very flavorful and well cooked, but the portion of the cod itself could have been a bit more generous. On the other hand, the side dishes were plentiful and nicely balanced the plate. The wine selection was good, and the overall setting—especially the view—was truly romantic and peaceful. Just 1.5 hours from Manhattan, it’s an ideal day trip or overnight escape. Next time, we’ll definitely stay longer and enjoy the full inn experience.

Took my daughter there tonight for her birthday. The food was amazing! The salmon melted in your mouth and the sashimi was excellent. We almost ordered a second order of steamed clams. Service was wonderful as well. Food came at our pace...no rushing. Wonderful experience!

We got the Bolognese and it was too sweet and way too creamy. Then we got the harvest salad and asked for the cranberries on the side along with the vinaigrette, but that was not done. We didn’t send it back. We are easy people. On top of that, the waitress was extremely rude and very short with us. The only good thing about this place was the view.

I have had the pleasure of playing several top 100 in the U.S. courses. West Point is now in my top 5 after playing a few weeks ago! One of the most fun layouts i've ever played. The routing was exceptional, the condition matched that of any private club, the clubhouse is fantastic also. All in all it's a 10/10 and a must play if you're coming from near or far. Also, Jesse, the GM is an absolutely fantastic guy and it's nice knowing the course is in such good hands. I will be making the drive from Long Island to come up and play for many years to come.

Played here on Sunday 8/25/2025. Let me tell you, this course is a monster (challenging)!!! And it was amazing. You really had to play your shot. Utilize the terrain and the greens ran pretty fast so patience/finesse were needed. I am in no way a great golfer, but for me it was soo much fun. Runs about 6000 give or take at the tips, but again each hole brings some sort of difficulty. The pro shop had some great merch and the staff was courteous and helpful with some tips on each hole. The restaurant had some great food and vibes. I highly recommend the Sun Bum (Mango Cart + Kona). A bit far for this Jersey guy (1.5 hrs) but still worth the trip in my opinion. Would 100% come back for more rounds.

The location provides beautiful views and is close to the border of Massachusetts and New York. The area offers a relaxed atmosphere for snowshoeing and is described as a hidden gem in Orange County, NY.
I can’t speak highly enough about there ski lessons. Signed my daughter up and she couldn’t have been more comfortable and her confidence has sky rocketed. Where to eat

Under a 29-minute drive from Victor Constant Ski Area at West Point, here are a few close by recommendations for when you get hungry exploring around.

Cold Spring Depot

4.3
(1542)
$$$$affordable
American restaurant
Cold Spring Depot is a charming eatery located in an 1893 train depot, offering American comfort food in a rustic tavern setting with a patio. Despite initial hesitation due to its popularity, the wait time was surprisingly short and the service efficient. The outdoor seating provides an entertaining experience as trains pass by occasionally. The menu features dishes like Kale Salad and Hummus with Pita, although some felt that the salad could use more flavor.
stopped by here after a nice hike. great service and nice facility! i enjoyed the food. some good sandwiches, burgers, and fries. can’t go wrong with that after a hike!
Kianna D — Google review
After a long hike to Anthony’s Nose and soaking in the fall views and breeze we were super hungry and ended up at this restaurant. We googled it and this place had the best reviews. Trust us those reviews were genuine since the food here was mouth watering, tasty and in good quantity for the price. Their cocktails were good too. The bread onion soup was delicious and so were the Brussels sprouts. Burgers were filling and came with truffle fries. Overall an amazing outdoor sitting experience. Loved it!
Ankita G — Google review
This is a nice place in Cold Spring. I really enjoyed the restaurant environment and their beer selection. However, I am giving it 3 stars for their food. I ordered crispy chicken sandwich and my husband had Truffle burger. Both were very average. Their truffle fries are great though.
Indre K — Google review
Very impressed with everything! The double double burger was outstandingly flavorful, fries crispy, the buffalo wings were saucy, and the salted watermelon cider was refreshing. The atmosphere was relaxing and dimmed while offering a cozy feeling. It was also cool to see the trains go by.
Quintin S — Google review
I can have a burger every day of the week, so I know a thing or two about burgers. The Roasted Poblano Burger was amazing highly recommend. The restaurant is rustic which was nice but I much rather sit outside right next to the Metro North passing at about 3 arms length from you at full speed, nice experience.
Benny G — Google review
This was a cool find on our way up to Lake George. We had our dog with us and this place is very dog friendly! They provided my girl with a water bowl and she sat outside with us. My son got the pasta, I got the pretzel and chicken wings. Wings were medicore, we got the Anchor Cherry BBQ. Everything else was delicious. My husband got the steak and said it was absolutely delicious. He’s a food snob. Definitely get the warm apple cider!! Be aware, the train is loud so if your dog is sensitive you might not want to come here.
Mrs. V — Google review
Excellent out door terrace in cold spring! Their French onion soup was really good - would totally recommend in the fall. Salads were delicious and hearty, the truffle burger and the pretzel was really good.
Peter P — Google review
Spray experience ever they told is to seat they did not have is menus besides that table was with water glasses and the check from mast customer. The waiter Never showed up to give water or to ask of we were helped. Spoke to the manager and explained what happened he just said “sorry about that”. Do not go here !!! Worst service ever i uploaded pictures because i love to speak with proof

Day 5

Keep it simple
For day 5, these 7 places should be enough to fill your day with something exciting to do in West Point. Start the day with The Plain and make your way through the city to get to Lichtenberg Tennis Center. This should take about 8 hours of your day.

The Plain

4.7

Park
The Plain, also known as the Parade Field, is a significant area at West Point Military Academy. It was once home to the entire academy and now serves as the venue for ceremonial parades and events. Situated about 150 feet above the Hudson River, it offers stunning views and is particularly captivating when the Corps of Cadets takes the field. Visitors often describe West Point as a nostalgic and beautiful place with its rich history, tradition, and breathtaking grounds in Orange County.
If you ever have the opportunity to view a parade of the cadets, you should. The traditions of the US Military Academy and the scenic views and history at West Point are worth the visit.

Attended the West Point Band Labor Day concert. It took my breath away. The venue was stunning, stage & lightening amazing but the performance was heavenly. What talented, remarkable musicians & conductor. The best evening. I heard the fireworks was incomparable.

Kosciuszko's Garden, located at West Point, is a hidden gem offering stunning views of the drill fields and the Hudson River. Despite recent construction causing some neglect, it remains a serene and historically rich spot. Visitors describe it as a beautiful and quiet place with a magical atmosphere that is worth exploring during a tour of West Point.
I think they use the word ‘garden’ pretty liberally at West Point. This place is as dead as my youth and the only thing that grows here is my disdain for the naming policy on this base.
Christopher C — Google review
A true hidden gem at West Point. A beautiful view and wonderfully quiet place. 9 years later I get to revisit WP. Due to recent construction, K's garden appears rundown and a bit neglected. I hope it gets a little love after construction.

Kosciuszko strategically orchestrated a significant British defeat at Saratoga and supervised the construction of military fortifications at West Point.
A renovated Statue should be back sometime later this year. The Statue was taken down in Sep. 2021 for repairs. They are well underway.

The Battle Monument, located at Trophy Point in the United States Military Academy at West Point, offers breathtaking views of the Hudson River and is a tribute to those who have served in the military. Visitors can enjoy free Sunday concerts and explore American Revolutionary history through plaques and guided tours by cadets. The monument stands as an impressive tribute to officers and men lost in the war of the revolution.
Impressive monument to the officers and men lost in the war of the revolution, IF you can gain access to the USMA.

Trophy Point at the United States Military Academy at West Point is one of the perfect places in the world. Great entertainment by the West point bands. An absolutely astonishing view. And a feeling of gratitude for being an American. Among people who have volunteered to put themselves on the line to secure our way of life that is unique in the world. My hat is always off to them. And this venue is a fitting and historic tribute to them.

Trophy Point, located at the West Point military academy, is a historic site featuring the impressive Battle Monument, designed by architect Stanford White and dedicated in 1897. The area gets its name from the array of captured artillery pieces on display, dating back to various American conflicts. With the stunning backdrop of the Hudson Highlands and river, visitors can admire the scenic overlook and take photos with the cannons that once saw wartime action.

Clearly the scenic view budget for the entire military is spent here - which explains why the other bases look so rustic. Emphasis on the ‘rust’.

Church
The Cadet Chapel at West Point Academy is a stunning and meticulously designed place of worship. It is rich in history and boasts an impressive array of features. Built in 1910, this grand chapel showcases exquisite stained glass windows, gracefully hanging flags, and the world's largest pipe organ with a staggering 23,000 pipes. Throughout its existence, only four different organists have had the privilege to play in this remarkable sanctuary.
Beautiful chapel! Everything inside and out is so well thought out and elegant. There's so much history with it as well. Visited during a tour of WP. During my visit we couldn't walk down the isle as the organist was there practicing. Our guide told us this chapel has the largest organ by number of pipes in the world, which was so amazing. Would love to come back and hear it "on full blast" for a show or a service.
Toni S — Google review
Did the West Point Academy tour today and it was great! The chapel was worth the tour in itself. The chapel was built in 1910 and is massive, with beautiful stain glass, the largest pipe organ in the world with 23,000 pipes, and gracefully draped flags. The guide said that since 1910 they have only had 4 different organists. I thought the chapel was stunning.

The Lichtenberg Tennis Center is a remarkable facility that sets ablaze with its exceptional amenities. Unlike the lackluster tennis team they were competing against, this place radiates greatness. The venue's splendor evokes nostalgic reminiscences of youthful days spent playing tennis, and one can only dream of having such a magnificent facility during those times. The Foundry Rose

Restaurant
The Foundry Rose is a charming cafe that serves hearty American dishes and housemade desserts. Visitors can enjoy their meals at sidewalk tables, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Despite being warned about potential wait times, the service was quick and attentive, with delicious offerings such as ricotta plates, fried pickles, seasonal ciders, fluffy pancakes, breakfast burritos, and burgers. The staff were friendly and efficient even during busy periods.
Lovely little restaurant in Cold springs. Had the biscuits and gravy, apple pie pancakes, and a ricotta board to share. All of the food was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for brunch spot.
James P — Google review
was seated very quickly and service was friendly! ambience inside is cute. menu descriptions felt like they didn't quite match what we were served (both mine and my girlfriends' meals was mostly home fries) and my eggs were undercooked :( my meal here was far from the best brunch I've ever had, but you know what it gets the job done - fuel for hiking in the area!
Maya L — Google review
Really enjoyed the hash dish and pancakes!! Staff was attentive and friendly. Had breakfast two days in a row!
Raquel C — Google review
Very slow service, which is surprising given the number of wait staff they had and that the restaurant wasn't even crowded. They had a number of younger workers, probably because of the summer season, but they were all a lot more efficient and diligent than the older lady, who seemed to be doing as little as she could and moving at a glacial speed. We were seated immediately, but it took maybe 10-15 minutes to even get glasses of water let alone our order taken. The wait staff were tending other tables, and when we made eye contact with the older lady saying we were ready to order, she said to give her a minute as she took her time to check on a table outside. Another wait staff eventually was able to give us water and take our order. The food also came out slowly. We ordered a hummus platter, the fruit bowl side, and the eggs and hash. The eggs and hash was not bad -- the hash was a bit on the oily side. The hummus platter was just alright -- the pita bread was dry and stale. The lady was nice, but didn't seem to have proper customer service / restaurant etiquette. She just wasn't attentive, didn't have a good second nature for tending customers, and when we were heading out the door after our meal she kind of motioned to give her the right of way as she was coming in, which is a small thing but it surprised us because we thought usually the workers would give their customers right of way. Overall, the food was just average, but given the pace of this place, I wouldn't return here. The younger workers really were apt though, and they were great with refilling our water when they saw it was empty. All the workers seemed to be tending all table without much coordination.
Celena C — Google review
CHARMING PLACE; SLOW SERVING. Every time we visit Cold Spring we have brunch here. The price has gone up over the years but what hasn't. The pancakes always good ($17+) and Salmond cesaer salad ($23) was also very good. But once the order was taken it took a little over 20 min to get the food. The place was almost packed with diners so we tried to understand it but an update or two would have helped us not getting frustrated. "Is our order In?" But the portion of the dish, kind smiles from the host made forget all that. Enjoyed our meal.
Thomas L — Google review
Great casual spot. Excellent food and service! No matter what you order, you’ll be sure to enjoy every morsel. I ordered the Mediterranean salad for lunch and it was delicious! I’ve eaten there 3 times over the weekend and each time is better than the previous. GO! Did not waste your time anywhere else on Main St in Cold Spring. This is the hot spot in town.
Pamela W — Google review
This place was as fantastic breakfast spot definitely worth more like 4.5 stars than the 3.9 it has, in a very cute town, with patio seating, great and friendly staff, and a solid and delicious breakfast menu. We had breakfast there back to back days, and had both chefs omelette and the regular omelette (would recommend chefs omelette of the two, but both good!), good breakfast potatoes and bacon and sausage was great too, pancakes, and breakfast sandwich. Pancakes were huge and very fluffy and delicious, breakfast sandwich wasn't as great and avocado wasn't ripe. French toast looked really good but we didn't try it. Staff were able to accomodate a birthday by putting a candle in the toast and even helped sing happy birthday!
Chris B — Google review
I have had really positive experiences here - both in a time when I needed a place to land and fill out some unexpected paperwork [and they were kind enough to let me linger], as well as with my pup & partner & being served outside. Contrary to some of the other reviews, the service has been prompt, friendly & warm [even brought some complimentary bacon for pup] - and the food is delicious & well-sourced. Highly recommend the Storm King sammie & as a place to take in Main St happenings. Will be back!
