The Pioneer Woman Mercantile, located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, is a popular destination created by Ree and Ladd Drummond. Housed in the renovated Osage Mercantile building on Main Street, it offers a restaurant serving country dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The establishment also features a deli, bakery, and store where visitors can enjoy comfort food and shop for treats and gifts.
This place is incredible! The food was delicious. Extremely large portions so keep that in mind when you order. I am gluten intolerant and picked up a gluten free pound cake upstairs before breakfast( I read they often run out). It was seriously the best thing I have eaten since being gluten free. It is huge and lasted me several days, even traveling well back to Florida with no decline in taste or appearance. It has a few blueberries which are nice and don’t make the cake wet and sloppy. The crumb topping is heavenly. I will fly back to OK for more of this cake! It is that good!! I had the cheesy grits for breakfast and others in my party had the French toast and chicken fried steak. Everyone enjoyed their meals and they said the complimentary biscuits were amazing. I would highly recommend this place. The town is also very cute and the shop is paradise.

We stopped in to browse the store and have some lunch at the restaurant. I ordered the ranch hand sandwich, my husband ordered the biscuits & gravy, and we also took an order of french toast to go so we could eat it for dinner at our hotel. They also bring out biscuits with butter and jam before the meal. All of the food was absolutely delicious! Destiny was our server and she was amazing. I'd definitely ask for her again if we go back. Fun little stop as we travel through the northern part of the state!

First visit and it's a day long road trip from OKC. Parking is a bit tight but not hard to find. Checked in a little after 1pm and told up to a 90 minute wait, took right at an hour to get seated. Service is fine and friendly and today's choices were the chicken fried steak and turkey club with house made chips. Both are OK but not enough for a return trip. Might be just me, but I think this place is more about the hype than "great food". Again both meals were OK but not enough to make another road trip just to eat here. I am not saying don't make the trip as you may love the food, but for us this was a 1 and done. The staff are all great and very friendly and the place itself is very nice. My one major complaint is all the flies in the waiting and restaurant area. There were 5 alone on the window next to where we were seated

Oh dear Lord above, this was a fantastic experience. My wife and I ventured here while we were staying at the Pioneer Woman Boardinghouse, and the food and levels of service we utterly fantastic. First off, need to give a shout out to our servers for our different meals - Justin and Michelle. They were the very definition of what a server is, and were completely on point with our dining experience. So, to start off, before each meal, we were fed a biscuit with butter and blueberry cream cheese (yes, that sounded weird). I've always thought butter is butter, but this was hands-down the best butter I have ever tasted. The blueberry cream cheese was not to my fancy, but tasted good nevertheless. Now, onward to breakfast.....what kind of trip would it be to the Pioneer Woman Mercantile without chicken fried steak? To say the portions are gigantic would be an understatement. Eggs were eggs, and had the cheesy grits as a side. It was definitely more food than I was able to finish (and I am fat guy who can eat a lot). Later (much later as we were stuffed from breakfast) in the afternoon it was time for lunch......I had the Ranch Hand Melt, and my wife had the Turkey Bacon Club. The BBQ sauce on the Ranch Hand Melt was a bit too sweet for my liking, but the portions were EXTREMELY generous and a ton of food. The turkey on the Club was sliced to perfection and generous as well. In conclusion, Pawhuska is a pretty long drive, but was definitely worth it.......

Welcome to my review. I am a Godly Man and Navy Veteran who loves great food and service. I give a fair review and my view of the experience. This is only one side and my experience. Your experience maybe different, so share it. This place was so amazing and awesome and wonderful and delicious food. We are first. Country Scramble and pancakes. The pancakes had 3 different butters and syrups. Not going to tell you because you need to try them! The store is in the same building and the bakery is upstairs. Yes we got treats for the road!!!!

Came around 8 am. No lines. Decided to go all in and get the Sweet Stuff Breakfast. They gave me a biscuit with jam and butter while I was waiting. Let me just say, my breakfast was huge, but delicious! Took most in a “to go” box. Came back later to take some bakery items back home with me. They all look wonderful! Staff were super nice and helpful. Checked out the merchandise at the Mercantile. Did not disappoint. So many cute items.

Food was just OK. I travel everywhere & love trying out all kinds restaurants. The complimentary biscuits & jam were delicious & definitely the best part of the meal. I also enjoyed Blackberry Tea. The service & atmosphere made our experience much better!
Chloee P — Google review
The Pioneer Woman Mercantile in Pawhuska has undoubtedly the best biscuits and gravy I’ve ever had — and I’d consider myself a biscuits-and-gravy connoisseur. I’ve tried them just about everywhere they’re offered, and nothing comes close. The biscuits alone, served during brunch, were incredible. The jam was spot-on, and even the cookies from the upstairs bakery were fantastic. Usually when you go to a place tied to a TV show or celebrity, the food doesn’t live up to the hype. That was absolutely not the case here. Everything was excellent, the service was friendly, and even the manager came by to chat with us for a few minutes. You could tell the staff genuinely enjoy what they do, and it shows in both the food and the experience. We all enjoyed our meals, I’ll be highly recommending this place, and I will definitely be back!

The Mercantile(Drummond C Ranch)

Ranch
The Mercantile, also known as Drummond C Ranch, is a charming destination located on a gravel road surrounded by the scenic Drummond Ranch grounds. The ranch house exudes warmth and hospitality, with friendly volunteers eager to connect with visitors. Guests can savor delectable meals at the establishment, including mouthwatering biscuits and chicken fried steak that are hailed as some of the best ever tasted.
To see the joy on my wife's face as she enjoyed her time there was worth it! The dinner was ABSOLUTELY amazing! The biscuits were the greatest I ever had and the chicken fried steak was the best EVER! The staff was so thoughtful and caring. My wife's steak was a little overcooked and THEY made her send it back. Just 5 star service from the young black lady who handled our meal! Thanks for all of the excellent memories and we will be back. If your wife or yourself are a fan of Ree, you will LOVE this place!

The portions are huge. We shared the meatballs and Lad’s Chicken sandwich. Both were yummy! I loved the little sprouts sprinkled on the meatballs a very nice touch. The pickles with the sandwich were crunchy sweet. Loved the hand cut fries they were the size of steak fries. There was a 45 minute wait for the table for lunch.
Suzy B — Google review
Our first time eating here. We heard about this place from all the locals and thought we would drive up and try it. The wait was 5 minutes to get a table; we heard the line is usually out the door. We tried the pot pie, country fried steak, chicken parmesan, and beet salad. We also had biscuits (delicious with homemade jam) and side salads. The food was delicious and Amber, our waitress was extremely attentive. There is also a nicely stocked store attached with various shirts, books, kitchenware, etc. The upstair area offers desserts- we were full and passed on that.

I enjoyed shopping & lunch. Be prepared to wait to be seated at the restaurant. It was an hour and a half wait & we arrived at 11. I got the chicken sandwich, pretty good. My husband got the Dr Pepper Pork Belly & Grits *$17.)... man was that great! I'll probably order that next time around. I don't even like grits. Upstairs I got the Cowboy Coffee drink $3.50, it had a kick...a little spicy going down the throat, but I liked it. I thought all the store items were very overpriced, but that tourist shopping for you.
Regina T — Google review
Disappointed in the total experience. We arrived about 11:15 and was told 2 1/2 wait. We went upstairs to bakery to get a snack while waiting. We waited in line to order about 25 minutes. My son in law ordered a crepe which took an hour to prepare. When we finally got seated after the long wait, the food was good but not what you would expect for a place with the Pioneer Woman's name associated with it. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It came with mashed potatoes & gravy but no other veggies. Not a good value for the price. Best part was the visit to the Lodge at the Drummond Ranch.
David B — Google review
A real treat! We got the chicken pot pie(which is made with their biscuit dough) and it was rich and creamy, so delicious. Also got the pork belly which was amazing, could really taste the Dr Pepper and Chipotle. Now....the garlic parmesan fries....those need a warning on the menu! It was about 3lbs of french fries absolutely covered in garlic and cheese. It was enough to feed 6 people as an app. Highly recommend the fires!

If you visit Pawtuska, OK make sure to stop in. Awesome food! Quart of sweet tea for 25 cents! The retail area has all of the current Pioneer Woman merchandise you are looking for.

Mercantile in Pawhuska Oklahoma: This place belongs to one of my wife's cooking heros, Ree Drummond, also known as the Pioneer woman. The store portion is packed full of things designed for those that enjoy cooking. If you don't (like me) you will find little joy in wondering around here. But all is not lost! There is an amazing bakery upstairs full of things to make your blood sugar go off the charts! Along with that back on the bottom floor is a restaurant that we are in and the food was fantastic and reasonably priced.

The Pioneer Woman Boarding House

Inn
Experience the charm of The Pioneer Woman Boarding House in Pawhuska, a rustic-chic boutique inn with eight "cowboy luxury" suites. Renovated by Ree and Ladd Drummond, this 1920s structure offers top-notch amenities such as claw foot tubs, Tempur-Pedic mattresses, and barn-style bathroom doors. With free evening socials and a bakery on-site, it's the perfect place to stay while exploring Pawhuska.
We planned our visit almost a year ago. We were there for 3 beautiful nights.4/27/25-4/30/25 This place definitely has that “southern” charm. From the beautiful rooms, to the great hospitality and so much more. Every evening is happy hour with wine, beer and charcuterie board. Turn down service is offered along with a yummy delicious cookie served at turn down service and the morning coffee and pastries delivered to your room. All top notch! All the ladies who took care of us while we were there were absolutely AMAZING! However, we really want to tip our hats off to Becky! She worked the overnight shifts while we were there. She was an absolute DELIGHT! She was knowledgeable with where to go and what to do in the area. She carried wonderful conversations with us in the early morning (we are both early risers) and she was such a joy! She went above and beyond to make our stay even more enjoyable! So thank you Becky and all the wonderful staff who worked so hard from the front desk, to the room cleaners, to the baristas and everyone in between.

The rooms and service were excellent! It was the perfect birthday gift for my wife. Our stay was relaxing, and everything she wanted to do during this visit was in walking distance (The Mercantile, P Town (pizza place), and Charlie's Sweet Shop (for awesome ice cream)). There are a lot of fun cool shops in this area, so plenty to look at. The boarding house is unbelievable and they did an awesome job at restoring/building it. I absolutely love the high ceilings and large doorways. We plan on staying again (book early as reservations fill up months ahead!).
Christian U — Google review
We have stayed at the Boarding House several times over the years and it never disappoints. The staff is so sweet and accommodating. The complimentary turndown service (and cookies) is a favorite, but the coffee service in the morning is the icing on the cake. We stayed in the Drug Store room this weekend and it was one of our favorite suites to date. Such a nice weekend getaway for my cowboy and me!!

We had a great experience. Everything is done with extra care to providing the best service. Tamika, the Manager is a true professional. She was friendly, informative about the area and truly is a people person. It was fun to visit the area and see some of the sights we see on the Pioneer Woman television show. It was wonderful to hear everyone speak very highly of the Drummond family. It was also truly an experience to get to eat the food at the Mercantile and P Town pizza. I own all of Ree Drummond’s cookbooks and I plan to get them out and try to re-create some of the dishes that we had. We drove out to see the Bison at the tall grass prairie preserve and I highly recommend this to everyone. Do your research and plan your trip, you won’t regret it. My husband says the biscuits were the best he ever had!

My husband and I were gifted a two night stay this week in the Boudoir room by our daughter and family. Everything was top of the line perfect. Great service, good food and over the top friendly staff. We were given help with our luggage up flights of stairs. A public elevator is not available but I was accompanied in the freight elevator when I had to go up or down. Special place and people.
Paula V — Google review
The Pioneer Woman Boarding House did not disappoint. They called us a week prior to see if needed anything special in the room when we arrived. The staff was helpful & so nice! Our room was lovely, clean and filled with so many fun touches. We were served the best tasting complementary coffee & scones to our room!! If you're a Pioneer Woman fan you must go to Pawhuska and stay at The Boarding House, visit the lodge and eat at P-Town or The Mercantile!
Dave L — Google review
My gf and I had stayed here for her birthday and what an amazing experience this was! Highly recommend as the service is out of this world. We received cookies before bed delivered, her husband set up a delivery for some of their baked goods to be delivered too. Breakfast in bed via room service - DELISH. Having everything (shoping, Italian, a pizza spot, ice cream etc) so close in proximity for walking was also super convenient. Of course we did the tour of the compound and had to visit with the puppers. I will say, the Emerald room we chose allowed me one of the most relaxing tub experiences I could ask for. Plus, the bathroom and shower layout are unique and stunning! I do have one down side…and that was when we arrived so late it must have been perfect timing for when the sewer roaches come out. We had to hop around in our sandals at the entrance with our luggage to avoid them getting on us! A hysterical memory might I add. But, we did not see a single roach inside of the hotel. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. Hopefully we’ll be back again someday soon.

P-Town Pizza, owned by the Drummond family, offers a taste of authentic Italian brick oven pizza perfected with the Pioneer Woman's touch. The top specialty pizzas include Pizza-Ree-A and the Steakhouse pizza. On Friday and Saturday nights, they also serve steaks on the patio upon request. The pizzeria provides a rustic ambiance with wood floors, exposed brick walls, and TVs for entertainment.
What a great place to enjoy the best dinner! The Not Knots were the best bite all weekend! Served with delicious shredded cheese, marinara, and ranch. We shared a medium pizza - which we wisely added steak. Blackberry sweet tea was amazing! The service was fantastic! Definitely put this place in your Pawhuska must go to list!!

We were driving through town and on our last visit we never got pizza so we decided to stop and place an order to go. Very cute place with a nice balcony where you can also eat. Everyone was very friendly and my pizza was done very quickly. I ordered the meat pizza and it was definitely full of meat and was very good! We plan to go back again when we have more time and are able to sit down and eat there.

Our group got seated quickly for a Friday evening. The garlic knots are delicious. The Caesar salad is huge and can be shared by 3-4 people easily! My husband loved everything about the Steakhouse Pizza. The lasagna is also large and delicious. It could also be shared. They also have the best sweet tea, just like The Mercantile.
Jennie K — Google review
Fabulous pizza restaurant in the heart of Pawhuska OK. located on the second floor of a rehabbed older building, it has lots of charm. We stopped in for dinner and ate on the balcony. The steakhouse pizza was phenomenal. Also ordered a ranch water - which was purported to be a favorite of Ree’s. It was very refreshing. Service was friendly.

Went with the family. Pizza was pretty good. The place was busy as soon as it opened. Waited around 30 minutes for pizza but it wasn't a big deal. Atmosphere was good. Everyone is a tourist and happy to be there. Brick oven pizza was cool.
TheWayIDoIt — Google review
The pizza was great, especially the margarita and steak house pizzas. The staff was very nice and even offered a little toy for the kids to play with while we waited for food. Highly recommend.
Juliet A — Google review
I usually love the pizza here, especially the crust, which is a big deal cause nobody ever likes the crust, but the last time was just disappointing. Ordered for pick up, never got the phone call to pick it up, went in figuring it had to be done after 50 minutes from order time. Everything was overcooked, 2 pizzas and an order of cinnamon knots ( that I was really looking forward to) that were missing the extra white chocolate I had asked for. Luckily the manager on duty asked while I was paying, double checked for me and grabbed an extra for me before I left. Over $50 and time wasted for travel ( 28 miles out of the way) for burnt pizza with bubbles in it. SMH I know that’s not the normal standard. This was just sad.

Great local place for breakfast. About 1/2 the price of the main draw in town. Less than $15.00, including tip, for the two of us. I got breakfast #3 - 2 eggs, 2 sausage patties and 1 pancake. Cooked fresh and served hot! My wife got two pancakes and a side of bacon. The two pancakes were too much for my wife to finish. The only downside was the weak coffee.

My mom and I stopped in here when we were in town. We were both pleased with our lunch. I got a salad and she got the fried shrimp. The ranch was amazing. I seriously considered stealing the bottle (I didn't). Glad we stopped here. If I ever find myself in town again I will return.

Grill 125 is a popular spot in historic Pawhuska known for its fresh and delicious food. The build-your-own style burgers are made with thick, made-to-order patties, and even the kid's burger is substantial. The fries are also highly praised. The atmosphere is neat and the service is great. Visitors appreciate the prompt seating and feeding, especially compared to other nearby establishments with long waits.
We really enjoyed Grill 125. We both had a side salad and it was very fresh. Mrs. Flip Out had the mushroom Swiss burger and really enjoyed it. I had the Grill 125 burger and it was a build-your-own style burger. The burger patties were made to order and very thick meat patties. Even Little Flip Out’s kid burger was a large burger. The fries were very, very good as well. As you can see from the pictures, it’s located in historic Pawhuska and it was neat atmosphere. Service was great and the food terrific! Stop in for a meal if you are in Pawhuska.

So glad we came here to eat! Super friendly staff, delicious food, very well priced and love the saloon look decor. Even found parking right in front of The Grill! Bonus! I was wrong ordering my order and they had no problem changing it. The pie was delicious!

Maybe the best thing about this restaurant is the location. We tried to go to the slightly more famous restaurant in Pawhuska, but had no intention of waiting 90 minutes to eat. We found the 125 just down the road. It had character and really good fried mushrooms. The key thing to note about 125 was the number of locals that seemed to be there. Always a good sign. Our group had chicken clubs, BLT's, chicken fried steak and food like that. Everyone left full and happy. They seemed a little slow, not sure if it is hard to judge how much business they will get due to overflow from the Mercantile. I would go back if I lived closer than 600 miles away.

Awesome food. One of the best burgers I had in a long time. Yuge! Prices are too low. They really should bump them up a bit. Even their large draft beer were only $5.

I never write reviews but had to for this place. Instead of waiting an hour to eat at the Mercantile, we walked down the street a block and tried Grill 125. Pretty nice store with good selections. I was not happy about the butcher or the lack of steaks. The ribeyes are $17.99 and looked horrible. Butcher was just standing at the door... not doing anything. When asked about more steaks, he mumbled, but not coherently. Oh well...
Cindi M — Google review
It used to be better when it was IGA. They have stopped serving the breakfast. It wasn't very clean and the overhead music was too loud. I also noticed they have an electronic menu at the deli now and new cash registers again. Must have cost a fortune, maybe that's why the quality has gone down.
Jeff N — Google review
We love to shop at Pawhuska Hometown Foods. The meat selection is great. So many choices at great prices even in these days. Having butchers there too. Also love the "hot food deli for lunch and dinner, from the best fried chicken to the Indian fried bread to the cobblers" so fresh it is always good. The service is great too. Always a pleasure to shop there and we drive 45 miles to come there.

Oh my goodness, what a GORGEOUS place! The trails are absolutely stunning. So many random rocks and rivers everywhere. The water areas are really fun, with lots of fish and other random creatures. Super family friendly and the campsites are really clean and secure.

Beautiful park with some of the cleanest restrooms! I only gave 4 stars because small and some of the roads were worn. It had rained a lot lately, so the trails were very wet and the creek was so brown! Small park but great for a half day or a little camping trip.

A Wonderful Stay with One Bizarre Exception ★★★★☆ (4/5 Stars) We just finished a fantastic stay in the RV loop at Osage Hills State Park and would absolutely return. The sites are well laid out with nice shade trees and great views. While some sites are closer together, they aren't all like that. We highly recommend trying to book Site 1 if you can—it's practically by itself with a very spacious and beautiful green belt behind it, offering plenty of privacy. The facilities were great. There are plenty of bathrooms and showers. The park has the original units, which are clean but show their age, and two fantastic new air-conditioned units. A heads-up for the showers: the water runs warm and the temperature isn't adjustable, but we found them to be extremely clean. The hiking trails are a major highlight, offering gorgeous views both along the way and at the endpoints. Our dog loved exploring with us. As with all state parks, remember your pup must be leashed and under control at all times. We were particularly impressed with the park rangers. They came around the loop several times a day, which was reassuring. They were also very attentive, making eye contact and acknowledging us, making it clear they were available if we needed anything. I would have given this park a solid 5-star rating without hesitation. However, as we were leaving, I stopped by the office to purchase a park sticker. The office lady felt it was appropriate to tell me that my dog was overweight. It was an unprofessional, unsolicited, and frankly strange comment that left a sour taste on an otherwise perfect trip. Despite that one negative interaction, the beauty of the park, the excellent facilities, and the professionalism of the rangers far outweigh it. We highly recommend Osage Hills and look forward to visiting again

Tucked into a forested and hilly canyon, Osage Hills State Park is beautiful. Narrow, winding roads kiss the trees as you can see the native past played out on the rimrocks. Park has an office, seasonal pool, volleyball and tennis courts, cabins, tent cabins, R.V. sites with dump station, day-use areas, and group camping. There is a lovely, secluded lake with canoes and kayaks that can be rented at the park office. Life jackets are complimentary at the lake. Many hiking trails with maps are spread throughout the park. One trail leads to a river. There are also bike trails. Toilets/showers are spread through the park as well. It is a beautiful park, that you will enjoy.

This was the cleanest camp we’ve ever visited! The tent sites were super clean, and the restrooms were the nicest we’ve had at a camp. The view from our spot was sweet, and the only challenge are people wanting to look off of the overlook (site’s parking connects to the overlook’s parking). In December parking was not a problem, and the wildfire was still around to be seen.
Matt C — Google review
Campsites are well maintained. Pool was wonderful, and the camp office staff was very accommodating.

We came to the area because of the Pioneer Woman stores. We looked online and found this state park. Had no idea it was something special. Absolutely beautiful area. Our guest thought was we need to come back here in the fall. It was a short 3 hour drive. The pad was level. The only draw backs were site 15. On site 15, there was both 50 & 30 amp. Only the 30 amp worked. So I had to use a converter. Also site 16 the water is really close. Site 15 the water is 75’ from the pad. So that was challenging. But most sites had plenty of shade. No bugs. The other areas of the park was kept up. The showers were clean and had hot water Picnic area had plenty of shade and clean. When we arrived on Friday, it said that the office was open till five and it was 430 and we had just missed them. Definitely will be back.
Michael G — Google review
This park is very peaceful and quiet. It is a perfect location for small children as we camped with three children under five. The trails are accessible, the campgrounds beautiful with restrooms/showers placed in several places throughout the park. The restrooms themselves were handicap, accessible, very clean, and heated. Two playgrounds, several water features, a swimming pool, picnic areas, historical rock overlooks and facilities. The park ranger and office staff are very friendly and professional, and we can tell they take a lot of pride in maintaining this Osage State Park. We will come back soon to try out the fishing and swimming!

Food was great! Best Chimichanga I've had. Waiter, not so great. Had to ask for more chips, only refilled one glass even though everyone needed refills. Never came back to see how we were doing. 1:45 pm, so not really busy.

Mandy (our server) knows her business! She made excellent recommendations. She kept our glasses full. And she brought our food right on time! The cook staff understands high quality preparation and appetizing presentation. The place inside is clean and beautifully decorated. We highly recommend El Jalisco and will definitely return.

I normally like this place, but it was very slow this time around. Our waiter would leave and wouldn't come back for long periods of time, long enough for us to talk about just leaving and eating some where else. I hope it was just a bad day because it's normally a great place to eat.

History Museums
Nestled in the charming town of Pawhuska, the Osage County Historical Society Museum is a delightful gem that invites visitors to explore the rich tapestry of local heritage and culture. Housed in a historic Santa Fe depot, this compact museum features an array of fascinating exhibits that delve into various aspects of life in Osage County. From displays on western and pioneer life to insights into the early oil industry and Native American history, there's something for everyone.
We thought we would spent a few minutes at the museum but we were so wrong! We spent an hour here because there is so much to see -- tons of historical and native artifacts, from Maria Tallchief's ballet shoes to photos from the filming of Killers of the Flower Moon. The gentleman who was there that day was so friendly and helpful. He even put old 78 rpm records from the 1920s on the old Victrola to play music and an old advertisement for us. It's the down-home, personal attention you get that makes this museum so special!
Debra K — Google review
Out of all the museums I’ve visited, this one is my favorite so far. So much random information and artifacts. Loved the story about Mr Stink!
Jessica M — Google review
Nice little museum and worth an hour for sure. Entry by donation. A stone monument out front commemorates the first Boy Scout troop in America established here in 1909. Plenty of local treasures preserved on display. I was touched by some post-it notes giving names to a few the Osage members so proud of their new community in Osage County. For the kids on display an early television made by National circa 1947, yep only one channel on for just two hours per day!

This is a must see/visit place. Admission is based on a donation and the history you will learn here is great. From the first Boys Scout Troup in America to the most current events of Pawhuska and everything in between. We would definitely go back again.

Place was great very cool exhibits with some interesting items there so I donated some and then helped support them by buying some of their coins. One seems to be legit and uncirculated but I'm not exactly a pro in the field but the other I noticed that there were gouges all over the edges and under closer inspection noticed there's also scratches all over the face so great place very educational and the coin was probably a one time accidental kinda thing but I'd suggest checking them out before you buy them.

Handy Grocery is a family-owned convenience store that has been serving the Pawhuska community with dedication. The friendly and welcoming owners, Martha and Maggie, along with their staff, provide excellent service to visitors. The store offers a variety of Pepsi and Coke products, including shaved ice options. Customers praise the quality of the fountain drinks and the affordability during happy hour. Despite being busy, the service is efficient and friendly. Visitors also appreciate the helpful recommendations from staff for places to visit in town.
The best soft drinks! During our stay, its the only place we went for our drinks! I was blessed to meet the twin sisters, Martha and Maggie? I think. Two elderly women that run the store and super kind and hard working! All the staff was friendly. I was a little sad the shaved ice machine was broken, but the ice they had was great too.

I must be missing something. I read online reviews, saw various Tik-Toks and maybe my expectations were too high. However upon arriving there were no cars. The employee was outside smoking and when we pulled up and exited she ran inside. I walked in and this is what I would describe as a small town eclectically full convenience store. There were lots of random displays of stuff. There was an isle of snacks and a fountain area. But not like the ones I've seen displayed online. This was just a typical junkie little convenience store with NO gas and NO public restroom.

Ordered a simple burger with just mayo and cheese on it. Got home with the burger and it had everything you can get on a burger and no mayo. Sadly this isn’t the first time this has happened at this sonic. The car hop even read my order back to me and she read it back right but the order definitely was not right.

I ordered a smashburger for the 1st time and an unsweetened iced tea. My burger was literally a Salt lick and I got a Sweet Tea which I couldn't drink. I also ordered a water which was correct. The shame is, it was on the ticket. I couldn't eat the burger it was so bad.. I live out of town to top it off so I went home just as hungry as I was ..

The flavor was good, but dang. I had to dig like I was digging for gold to find the bacon I had added to my cheeseburger. Like, really, guys. That's it? And it took forever. Order consisted of 2 medium fountain drinks, a cheeseburger (add bacon), and a chicken strip dinner. 20 minutes
Myra D — Google review
Love the app… Love being able to get half-price drinks anytime of the day! Love the cherry limeade… Love the quick snacks and milkshakes….What I don’t necessarily love is trying to squeeze my giant truck into the little parking spots, and when I finally get into one, realizing that the dang speaker doesn’t work. It seems to be about a 50-50 shot… Too many speakers not working and not properly marked to let people know that they’re not working.
Leeanna B — Google review
Food was good. Not too expensive and it was quick. Staff was very nice too.

Okay so I've gone to a lot of sonics before. This one really took the cake. I even told the server that I've never seen a burger that actually looked like the commercial. Everything was lined up perfectly the lettuce was spread out the onions are spread out the pickles are spread out. The burger patties looked even larger than the ones in Kansas City. But I can honestly say I've never seen a burger look and taste so good at Sonic. I plan on stopping here each time I head down to Jennings Oklahoma.

Terrible food. It used to be good but has seriously gone down hill. No alpine sauce on the alpine sticks. Pizza was old & tough with very little sauce or toppings. $31.00 & I could have had a frozen pizza that was better.
Karee K — Google review
We placed an order for Stromboli to go. We have ordered from this Simple Simon's several times before. This time our food was overcooked and the crust was hard to bite and chew. We were their first customers of the day so being busy was not an excuse. I usually check my to go orders, but I didn't this time because we had never had an issue before.
Deb B — Google review
Sunday afternoon, only one other customer in store. Took more than half an hour to bring a pizza and a calizone. I understand delays can happen if under-staffed, but an apology for the delay would have been nice. The person who finally brought it to our table didn’t seem to care that the order was late. Certainly seems like a management and training issue.

Now charging $1.99 for water from fountain machine. Lettuce was warm and cheese melted. Also it was HOT in there. The bathrooms were cooler than the dining areas felt like 100 degrees.

Vast expanse of prairie home to grazing bison, with lookouts along a walking trail & scenic road.
Beautiful area. Unfortunately we mostly came to see bison but did not see any. There was some in the bison loop, but they were too far away to get a good look. If you're got binoculars, they would be helpful. Once on the preserve the road is all gravel. Your car will get dirty. The folks in the visitors center were extremely nice and knowledgeable. We did see some birds and a deer. Definitely coming back, hopefully see those bison next time around.

Beautiful drives. Lots of Bison to see. Stay in your car as the Bison are great to look at but can be very dangerous! Do not get near them. Spring is a great time to see the calves. They are cinnamon color and much lighter than the adults.

Amazing place to drive through and see the bison. Took a short hike with amazing views. Chuck at the visitor center was super friendly and told me where to go see the baby bison along with tons of facts. Was also fun taking the unpaved roads out in my SUV.

Amazing place! Many herds with their babies. Definitely be alert. When they want to cross, they will cross. Went on Sunday afternoon. Gravel roads. (You will need a car wash. If you have an SUV or pickup, definitely would be helpful)

Always love going here. Hit or miss on seeing bison close up, but we were lucky and saw some. Also saw a baby rattlesnake on the road.

It's always such a pretty place. The roads are well maintained so you don't have to dodge major holes. The white-tailed deer we're out in abundance today! The bison are about to be released after their fall checkups. The hiking is fantastic! Be snake aware though!
Sara T — Google review
This was an excellent experience, they had 1700 adult Buffalo with around 400 calves. The visitor center said they have 24,000 acres and it certainly seemed large enough to fit that. We got very close to the active herds from the road, and the visitor center had quite a few things for the kids to do and look at including real buffalo skulls and bones that they could touch and explore. The visitor center does not sell any souvenirs but they have very nice bathrooms, and the lady who was working at the visitor center was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the area.

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, located in Pawhuska, is a stunning historic church dating back to 1910. These unique windows were handcrafted in Germany and required special permission from the Vatican to begin their creation. The church offers free guided tours on Thursdays and Fridays, allowing visitors to marvel at its architectural beauty and learn about its rich history.
What a stunning piece of the local history. The stained glass is amazing and the detail for each station of the cross was great to see. Very beautiful and worth seeing!

Museum
The Osage Nation Museum, located in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, is a significant destination for experiencing the rich history, art, and culture of the Osage people. Established in 1938, it is the oldest tribally-owned museum in the United States. The museum features a large stone chapel that houses exhibits and artifacts showcasing the customs and history of the Osage Indians.
Such a great space inside and out. The grounds are well done with the statue and memorial for veterans. Inside, you can see artifacts, pictures of those that had allotments, and more about the Osage language. Loved this!!
Kathy C — Google review
Incredible experience for someone with Osage ancestry or connections. Important for me to have a place that acknowledges my ties to the history and people in Osage County. The Allotment photo and stories project is visionary and well executed. Julia Lookout spent several hours with me and my dad to help find our relatives and to share stories with us. It is places and people like her that make me proud to be Osage. Thank you Osage Nation Museum staff for the warm welcome and guiding information. 🤗

I'm a little biased because I work for the Osage Nation. This is a very beautiful and quiet museum that holds the history of a great Nation of Native Americans. There is a lady who works at the museum named Julia. She can tell you the most amazing and heartbreaking stories of the Osage people. I encourage you to visit the museum and have Julia tell you about the history of the Osage people. You won't regret it. There are amazing exhibits and artifacts that are meticulously preserved by some very dedicated employees. The ladies and gentlemen at the Osage Museum work hard to give everyone the ability to see and hear the history of the Osage people. It is a place you should visit if you happen to come to Pawhuska.

Checked the hours online. Open until 5. Arrived at 4:15 - LOCKED. Hours on the door confirmed the ones online. No other explanation for why they weren't open when they should have been. Good thing we didn't drive ALL THE WAY FROM TULSA TO GET HERE. My son was super disappointed, which made it even worse. Luckily there are other things to do in the area.

Osage National Museum Pawhuska Oklahoma: This free and fantastic facility is just dripping with history and knowledge.  It's not large but what a wonderful way to spend an hour or two and learn about the Osage tribe and their amazing and resilient culture. Unfortunately, you can not take photos or video inside the building, but it is just loaded with historical artifacts that will open your eyes and affect your soul.  It was founded in 1938 and is the oldest tribally owned museum in America. Outside there is a beautiful and moving memorial to those who lost their lives fighting for a country that took almost everything from them.  The happy note in all of this is that they ended up on land that is  oil rich and have prospered regardless of the hardships placed upon them!

What a gem of a museum! May daughter and I thought we would spend 10 minutes here but once we went to the exhibit room behind the glass door, we were greeted by Mrs. Julia Lookout, great-granddaughter of Chief Fred Lookout. She spent nearly an hour talking to us about her culture and answering all of our questions. It was such a pleasure meeting Mrs. Lookout. She is such an asset to the museum!

Beautiful space. Not much to see but, they are planning to expand so that they can have more exhibits. You cannot take pictures inside.

Amazing AUTHENTIC Historical Items and an absolutely Wonderfully knowledgeable guide who we didnt have the opportunity to tour with directly and still overheard a wealth of information about the local tribes. Would recommend over the Woolaroc anyday for ACTUAL Tribal history.

Ice cream shop
Charlie's Sweet Shop is a charming addition to the dining options in Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Named after one of the Pioneer Woman's beloved Basset Hounds, this sweet shop offers delicious Tillamook ice cream with a variety of homemade toppings. The sundaes are generously sized and reasonably priced, perfect for sharing. Despite occasional shortages of specialty flavors, visitors can enjoy classic treats like waffle bowls and banana splits.
There's a sweet little gift and candy area in this ice cream shop. Their sundaes are simply delicious and amazing. We can't wait to go back again!

First time trying Charlie's Sweet Shop and boy was it sweet. I had the strawberry one scoop which is more like 3 big scoops. Not bad, too sugary sweet they use real strawberries (no artificial flavoring) but phew too much!! My family liked there's, my mom said she should have had what my sister got. Hers was supposed to have almonds but was pecans instead. The gal working was so friendly and kind. Very helpful with ordering. Cute ice cream sweet shop. Not busy only one other family inside went on a Thursday afternoon. We parked over at the Mercantile and walked over but they have street parking too.

We just discovered this ice cream shop and we're delighted with our find! The young ladies are super helpful and the portions are generous. The caramel, pecan type ice cream was amazing and the homemade rolled cone was the best we've ever had, thin and delicious! We will make this one of our stops when we are up this way. Prices are reasonable as well.

The employee was very polite and went above and beyond. After finishing our delicious treats she even gave me paper towel to clean up the little kids, I never had to ask. Highly recommend.

Cute little Sweet Shop in Pawhuska! Stopped here after having pizza at P-Town (that was AMAZING!) and just wanted a little something sweet. Ordered a single scoop and Marina gave me an awesome helping of two delicious flavors: Coffee Almond and Toffee Salted Caramel! I’m sure this place is packed in warmer weather but loved the cozy quiet that it was tonight.

Was just the ticket on a hot afternoon. The Black Cherry was sweet and good!

Great ice cream! You will get your money's worth and then some. Bring your appetite or a buddy to share, or both! They have unusual flavors as well. Tried the huckleberry which was delicious but went with the chocolate/peanut butter. Daughter ordered a sundae which would feed 3! You have to try if your in the area.

This is the official sweet shop of the pioneer woman. However the ice cream is a generic brand ice cream that can be found all over the country, including in the Six Flags theme parks. It is nothing special. The only pioneer woman item in the store is the homemade sauces, Rich are only hot fudge and caramel. I recommend saving your money and appetite and ordering dessert at the mercantile instead.

Located in Pawhuska, The Dirty Laundry Saloon - Bar & Grill is a must-visit spot for locals and tourists alike. The warm and inviting ambiance, along with beautifully designed interiors and comfortable seating, sets the stage for a wonderful experience with friends and family. This hidden gem offers delicious food, including homemade chicken salad on field greens, strawberries, and avocado. Additionally, they serve outstanding coffee alongside a variety of cocktails.
The Dirty Laundry is my favorite coffee spot in town. I love their brunch on the weekend and meet with friends here often. The coffee is just as good as you’d hope—rich, bold, and made to perfection. Plus, they have some fun specialty lattes that change with the seasons. And don’t even get me started on the cocktails—they’re creative, smooth, and surprisingly refined for a cozy spot like this. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic mimosa or something craftier like an espresso martini, they’ve got it covered. The vibe is warm, welcoming, and just cozy enough to make you want to stay awhile. It’s the kind of place that makes you proud to call this town home. Highly recommend!

Ventured in around 7 on a Saturday evening and had plenty of open tables. Service was good and kept distance when we ate to not be too intrusive. The atmosphere was comfort eclectic and didn't look like they would have a bad spot to sit. We got an app that wasn't on the menu but was delish! Wings fried up with dipping sauce, but honestly the coating was awesome and crunchy on its own. The hubs got the pan fried chicken dinner and said it could've been cooked for a minute longer but otherwise good. I got the goat cheese and beet salad with chicken. I should've skipped on the chicken (it was just fine just a personal preference) I would say they could have a bit more beets and less oranges than what was in it. Place is worth a visit. Go try it out.

Vibe here is unique and chill. I like a good watering hole and this one does fine if you are nearby. I ordered the corn ribs. Yummy. I think this is the owners "take" of Mexican street corn. Not too bad. I'm impressed by its flavor and sauce. The staff was rather young amd not great conversationalist. They got to sharpen that a bit to obtain repeat business, especially a tourist like myself. I still would recommend dropping by though. I absolutely love the decor here!

The food is fresh. Like farm to table fresh. It was truly amazing. The server was really nice, and informative. But don't be in a hurry if you come here. This is definitely a laid back, country environment. Chill out and be patient if you're city folk. The decor was cute. But the place needs a good cleaning, and some updates. I don't like the seating. The banquettes are difficult to get in and out of.

We were in town on a Tuesday night, and we popped in around 6:30 PM. Even though they are one of the very few restaurants open on Tuesday nights, you cannot order from the dinner menu. I found this to be odd. I had the chicken strips which worked good, except for the crust was a little too crispy. It was a cut establishment, and we would eat there again.

The food was absolutely delicious! We loved it. The decor is so cute and I loved the plates and cups! We had the brunch and it was so good! The gravy was perfect 👌

One of the best burgers 🍔 and home fries I've had in Oklahoma! Don't sleep on the fried pickles and bone-in chicken wing appetizers too! The pickles have a nice crunch and the perfect amount of dill flavor. The buffalo wings are crunchy fried perfection 👌 AND the ranch dressing... 😋 Washed it all down with a Sweet Tea! Will be back!

A hidden gem of a place! We just happened across it as we were passing through, and we are so glad we stopped in. The place is super unique with all kinds of little extras like a chilled bottle of water for our table and really nice, thick paper napkins stamped with their logo. The food we ate was delicious! We had the Dirty Laundry Burger which was super flavorful and crisp, hand cut onion rings. Karlie was a wonderful server, ensuring everything was good with fast service. Check this place out!

If you're on the hunt for a mouthwatering BBQ experience, look no further than Trigger's BBQ. This charming spot offers a delightful array of slow-smoked meats, including tender brisket and juicy pulled pork, paired with scrumptious sides like baked beans, corn, and coleslaw. Guests rave about the inviting atmosphere created by the friendly owners who are eager to share their passion for food.
My family and I were in pawhuska for the day and decided to try out this small bbq place and I'm so happy we did. Their food was uniquely delicious. It's unlike any bbq I've ever tried. We tried the brisket, pulled pork, chicken sandwich, cheesy potatoes, beans, and rice. Everything was great. The bbq sauce was unlike any ive ever tried sweet, tangy, and kinda sour but delicious. Will definitely be coming back here if we are ever in pawhuska again.

My wife and I ate there today for the first time. The owners were very inviting, made great conversation and told us all about the menu. The food was really good. I had the ribs, hot sausages and the cheesy potatoes and also this really tasty rice with hamburger and other spices cooked. My wife had the pulled pork and the cheesy potatoes. We were absolutely stuffed, the meats were great, large quantity and the pulled pork was actually juicy and pulled apart. I can’t wait to go there again.

Extremely wonderful folks run this restaurant. It is a small building with limited seating but our group of ten did not have any issues. Personally, I enjoy everything on their menus and the owners are attentive to their guests. Every restaurant allows you the opportunity to taste a different family's favorite recipes - and this one was enjoyed by 9 guys and myself. Thank you for an excellent meal! Those giving poor reviews of this place were probably Hangry from waiting in line at an establishment which is worth several million dollars and expected the same experience at a separate establishment but took their frustrations out in the review column... .

The food was amazing and the staff was awesome, but we sat outside and the ground was soggy from the air conditioner, there was a puddle on our table, and we were waving flies away for the whole meal. If they'd clean up the outside seating area I'd give them five stars. We had our dog with us so we had no choice but to eat outside. Like I said, the food was amazing though, the BBQ sauce was tangy but not too spicy and the brisket fell apart in your mouth. I could eat a bucket of that cheesy potato side, it was awesome.

Genuinely the best beans I've ever had. I can't even think of a time where I had beans and actually enjoyed them. The ribs and brisket were really juicy and tender and the sauce that went with it was just on a whole new level.

My husband and I took a motorcycle ride out to pawhuska on Sunday afternoon. Almost whole town was closed, except for this little joint tucked in behind main street. The food was amazing! The ribs and pulled pork was amazing! It was a good ride and good food!

We love supporting locally owned businesses & hearing their stories! Best hot links this side of the Red River! Don’t miss out on the cheesy potatoes & buy a quart of sauce to go! You won’t be disappointed! Cool vibe & decor is an ode to servicemen, first responders & the pit master is all of the above!
Marci L — Google review
It may not look like much but everything we ordered was delicious. The ribs were fall off the bone tender and portions were large. Just across Main Street from the Mercantile behind the parking area. They were one of the only places to eat on Sunday evening in this small tourist town .
