This is truly a natural wonder, and my family was amazed by the incredible formations found within the cave. It’s definitely worth a one-time visit, especially for kids, they’ll likely be fascinated by the cave’s dome-like structure, which feels like it was carefully crafted by nature itself. Personally, I come from a place where I’ve explored both small and large natural caves, so I didn’t find it particularly exciting. It was nice, but not a “wow” experience for me, maybe it’s just a matter of personal taste. Still, the rest of my family absolutely loved it. The place was busy but not overly crowded, even on a summer weekend. • Ticket prices: $36 for adults and $18 for kids aged 6 to 12. • It’s a good idea to purchase tickets online in advance. • Parking is plentiful. • Cameras are allowed inside the cave, so you can capture some memorable shots. • Besides Luray Caverns, there are other attractions nearby worth exploring as well. Overall, while it wasn’t a standout for me personally, it was a great experience for the family.

This was my first time going to Laurel caverns cave. And it won’t be the last. We explored the deep depths parts of the cave Approximately 50 stories below where we entered, it was amazing. Made me feel like a kid again, climbing around down there. What a blast! But if I had to pick the one thing that set this trip over the top, it was definitely Mike our tour guide, Thanks Mike, you were amazing, We greatly appreciate it. You are the man and you made that a very memorable experience for each and every one of us. I will see you in the spring when I bring my family back. We met up with friends at Ohiopyle and came out to the caverns. Due to the sandstone mixed with the limestone there are no crystal formations, but they do have a metallic looking bacteria that indicates a healthy environment. They also had a stop in the middle of the guided tour (Maddie was great!) where they had light cued up to Appalachian Spring by Copland. Following the guided tour, there is a self guided tour that goes down to the deeper sections. It was slick in spots and there were a few steep ramps, but even the three year old made it through with little complaint. The property with lookouts off the mountain is gorgeous as well! My husband and I talked about coming back some time to do one of the crawling tours. I also noticed online that they have some cool programs for kids.

Took my son on the intro to caving program and it was great! We got to do some crawling through some tight tunnels, see some underwater rivers and waterfalls. Highly recommend going and ask for PJ as your guide! He was great!

Two hour drive was worth the experience. Would recommend not to bring small children. Good pair of shoes as well. Guide was great. Spoke briefly at every stop and let everyone explore thoroughly. Dark at times but to be expected. Also some tight passageway for us big guys. Our families favorite part was the temperature. It was 95 outside but always 52° down in the caves. Also, if you’re afraid of bats, I believe April through September there are none in the caves. They were all out in the bat boxes outside. They don’t hibernate till winter time.

Always a 'cool' place to visit. I've been going to Laurel Caverns ever since I was a child, and this time I was able to experience it with my daughter and granddaughters. Now, following the guided tour, you are allowed to tour the cave on your own, which I think is a great idea. You can walk at your own pace and enjoy the beauty inside the cave.was definitely a good place to visit on a hot su.mer day.

I took a few minutes to explore this small little park after we ate nearby. I thought I knew General Braddock's story, but I learned a lot more here. History nerds will love this place!

It was definitely an informative site. I feel like it's more telling about George Washington 's character. George Washington had Braddock buried right on the road so that Braddock's grave wouldn't be desecrated by the enemies and he read the funeral service himself.

You should make a quick stop to see Braddocks Grave. As you leave the Fort entrance, go left. It is a short drive and it will be on your right side. The entrance to the monument is just past Braddock's Restaurant. After parking there are two ways to get to the monument. You can take the side walk around or take the steps. The monument is where he was moved to which is near his original unmarked grave. You can see that marker on the Braddock Road Trace which is in the ravine. This is also at the bottom of the steps on your right if coming from the parking lot. You will actually see the sign before you get to it.

This was a nice little quick stop. They did a good job on clearing out, adding pathways, the monument and a little parking lot. Very easy to access. If you are into history then you will want to stop here if you are near by. Perfect place to stop on your way to or from Fort Necessity battlefield.

Braddock’s Grave is a site administered by the Fort Necessity Battlefield Park. The site consists of Braddock’s Gravesite, the place where Braddock was initially interred, and traces of the original National Road. The placards at the park were very informative of the actions that took place here after Braddock’s defeat to the French near Fort Duquesne.

About a miles west of Fort Necessity on the north side of Highway 40 (The National Road) is the grave of General Edward Braddock. In 1755 General Braddock was the commander of British Forces who were enroute to remover the French from Fort Duquesne at the confluence of the three Rivers at Present day Pittsburgh. The French received word of Braddock’s intentions and met him near here. General Braddock died during the battle and his troops including a young George Washington buried him in the middle of the original National Road to keep the French and Indians from disturbing the grave. Traffic along the Road quickly hid the grave. General Braddock rested in the original grave until about 1802 when his remains were discovered and moved to its current location. Today he is resting beneath the large monument along side U. S. Highway 40. There is a small parking lot here where storyboards detail the history of Braddock’s Grave. As you walk from the parking lot be sure to walk down to General Braddock’s Original Grave site. The Braddock Grave Site is part of the Fort Necessity National Battlefield. If you are a history buff this site is well worth a stop. Plan on spending about 30 minutes here.

Nice piece of history to check out

Before heading to the Visitor Center, we stopped at Mt Washington Tavern. There was parking above and below for plenty of vehicles. If you want, you can take the path back to the Visitor Center instead of driving. It is a self guided tour and it opens at 10:00am for visitors. There are plenty of rooms to take a look at on the 2 floors. Very well staged dioramas to give you an idea how it was used. This was a stop along the National Road for weary travelers. There is a wagon replica for you to check out. The land it is on was originally purchased by George Washington. It isn’t part of the history of Fort Necessity but still linked to a part of our history.

Self guided. Don’t hesitate to pull on the front door. There are no employees inside but you can walk through and view what the tavern use to look like.

After visiting Fort Necessity, I made the short drive from the Visitor’s Center up to the Historic Mount Washington Tavern. The is a separate parking area for the tavern and visitors can either take the stairs or the ramp up to the tavern. The Tavern dates to the 1830’s and became a popular stopping place for travelers along the National Road. The lower floor features a parlor where women could gather while the men enjoyed strong drink and game and the bar across the hall. The lower floor also featured a dining room where guests could enjoy hot meals. Overnight guests could stay in rooms on the upper floor of the tavern. Room for travelers went for 25 cents a night. Each Room is furnished with period pieces. Today’s tours are self-guided, and visitors are free to spend as much time as they like. I enjoyed reading the informative storyboards, so it took me about 30 minutes to complete my tour.

It's a great place to know American history. Well maintained and well preserved artifacts from the history. Its easy to explore on a self guided tour. If I'm not wrong, this Tavern played an important role during construction of Natioal Rod.

Amazingly restored old tavern. We have drove by this location a few times and decided it was time to stop and see if we could get a tour inside the building. After stopping at the visitor's center and the fort, we drove up to the tavern to find that it was open to walk right in and look around. This building is very well taken of by the park and we highly recommend anyone who is into the history of the region to stop and take a look. Makes the stop at Fort Necessity a little bit more worth wile. They had already locked the door by the time we got there, not sure why they close earlier than the visitor center, but I would have liked to go inside and check it out.

Mt Washington Tavern is a short walk from Fort Necessity. If you like history, you will enjoy both places.

We really enjoyed getting to walk the grounds and stand where history was made. The grounds are peaceful and well marked with historical plaques. We definitely recommend seeing Mt. Washington Tavern, Braddock's grave and Jumonville Glenn as well. They are all close by. Unfortunately, the government shut down kept us from being able to access the visitor's center or the tavern but we made the most of it and would recommend it to others interested in history.

We always try an stop at any major historical location while in an area. This fort/battlefield is very well presented and preserved. We stopped here while the gov't was shut-down so no guides or rangers. The phone narration by location was very cool and effective. Be aware that picnic area at the top of the property is not for the faint of heart driver. It is on a gravel road loop that frankly I am surprised they let the public drive on. Be careful!

Fort Necessity National Battlefield is an awesome place to visit for those that love early American history! The park encompasses several sites including Fort Necessity itself, traces of the National Road, Braddock’s Grave, and Jumonville Glen. All of these locations are within 10 miles of the Visitor’s Center. The museum at Fort Necessity was great and had many displays pertaining to the opening campaigns of the French and Indian War. The videos and ranger programs were interesting and informative. Allow at least 3 hours to visit all of these locations sites and partake in the ranger programs.

The visitor's center was not open the day I went (Friday, October 3). However, I enjoyed looking at the reconstruction of the fort. There are signs indicating where the French were in the woods, clearly showing how French and their Indigenous allies surrounded George Washington and the British. The weather was perfect for such a trip. I recommend anybody who is interested in this history to come and see the fort, and hopefully the visitor center will be open in the future for people to learn more about how a young man started a world war.

We visited on a late Saturday afternoon in mid-April 2025. Unfortunately we only had about an hour in the visitor center and that was just enough time to watch the film and for the kids to complete their junior rangers and see all the exhibits. We were definitely rushing through everything and didn't even get to go out to the fort. The parking lot was huge for the site. Over 50 parking spots for sure. There were less than 10 cars there when we arrived. We kind of ran inside to get our National Park Cancellation Stamps which were located on the information desk right inside the doors to the left. There was only 1 stamp for the site. The gift shop itself was a decent size with a good selection of merch. The restrooms and theater were right adjacent to this area. We quickly rushed into the theater to watch the last showing of the film for the day. We then explored the exhibit area which was actually amazingly well done. It was super cool how it had audio surround sound which I believe was motion triggered. So you walk into the beginning and its gun shots to the left and right. The whole exhibit area must've been renovated recently. I wish Friendship Hill had something like this. It's like they pooled all their funding together and put it all into one of the sites. The exhibits here were bright and colorful and dynamic and themed like a Disney park. There was also a small playground for younger kids right outside the visitor center as well with picnic tables. The rangers we talked to were very nice and swore my kids in for their Junior Ranger badges. I felt bad as we rushed through everything and didn't even walk out to the fort. We will definitely have to visit this Fort Necessity National Battlefield again and actually go out to the fort and read more of the indoor exhibits. I would say you need at least 90 mins to 2 hours to really see everything here. The grounds don't close until sunset so we could've probably walked down to the fort still but we were on a road trip and needed to meet with family for dinner a couple hours away.

Fort Necessity and Washington's defeat, there is a story in history I have heard of my whole life. I knew the fort was small, and the location wasn't great from the things I have learned over the years. But when we walked into the meadow and then into the fort, I was amazed by what we saw. It must have been terrifying for the soldiers and Washington waiting for the French and Native Americans to just tear the pace apart. But as we know, that's not how it ended. Besides the fort, the National Battlefield has a museum, which has exhibits about the French and Indian War as well as the history of the national road. Also, there is a good little gift shop to find a souvenir of your visit. And don't forget to get your park passport stamp when there. Great place to visit with so much history to learn!!

Coming to the Fort Necessity National Park you will discover this was a very historic step for the US. It was a kind of domino effect if you took a look at the whole time period. The French and Indian War caused heavy monetary loss for Britain. Due to that, they taxed the Colonies heavily. That of course led to the Revolutionary War and our independence. There wasn’t anything left of the Fort as part of the surrender was that it had to be torn down and the logs burned. What you see today is a representation of what it would have looked like. Use the NPS app for the numbered stops to hear more about the battle. There are also walking trails in the park too.

Such a beautiful resort, I played Mystic Rock for the 2nd time and it never disappoints. Elite conditions, excellent practice area, best golf carts I've ever seen and very pleasant and helpful staff. I highly encourage anyone to check out Nemacolin Woodlands.

Absolutely beautiful golf course!

First (and last) time playing this course. Was a "bucket list" place for me, until I played. MILLIONS of gnats! Hard to believe it was voted a "best course", I doubt it's legitimate. Even low priced local courses are kind enough to spray for bugs. I reached out to them afterwards and ZERO response! This convinced me to write a review being that they didn't have the good business sense to even politely respond to an email (sent to several members of staff). Do yourself a favor, play another course that's bug free. I have never encountered such a bug problem anywhere else in the U.S.

This is actually my third time playing Mystic Rock and I would have to say very disappointed. I've never seen as many bugs on the course that I experienced today. It felt like we were playing a low grade public course. With the rate of $145 I would think they would spray to control bugs. While when waiting to hit you have 30 or 40 bugs flying around your head and legs. I'm very disappointed also in the staff. Neither the starter or pro shop mentioned it being cart path only.

Overall a great dinner! Delicious food including great extras like the bread, amuse bouche and petit four. Bertram, our waiter, made it even more enjoyable with awesome service and a few extras too!

Nice location and atmosphere. The food is good, but my meal selection wasn’t excellent and could simply be what I ordered as others in our party enjoyed their meals. It is pricey but as previously stated a very nice atmosphere with very friendly and attentive staff. If you are looking to celebrate a special occasion and are in the Farmington area I would recommend visiting.

We spent dinner here to celebrate our engagement with my partners parents. The staff was very accommodating to our plant-based needs. There was one option in each section that was already vegan except for a cheese or sauce that they could easily remove. We ordered the starter and small plate to share and each got the main plate and we’re definitely full at the end. The wine was delicious and our food was very good. I would give 5 stars if I felt like it was something I completely could not have made at home, but the only thing we felt was very different was the way the tofu was shaped and cooked. For the price, I had to go with a strong 4 stars. We also got to celebrate with a little champagne at the end. Pictures to see how the presentation was! And the setting is truly gorgeous. Thank you for having us!

Aqueous was an absolute delightful and delicious breakfast stop on our Nemacolin adventure. With its gorgeous views of the golf course and prime setting outside near the bar and pool, you will not be disappointed. I got the falling rock classic and could not finish it because it was so much food. We even went back a another time before we left. Will be back again. The wait staff were PHENOMENAL!!!

We didn't go to every restaurant in the Woodlands but Aqueous was a standout. Great service, fantastic food, solid drink and wine selection and a nice business casual setting. Breakfast there was ok, not great. But dinner is worth it's weight.

If you ever eat at this place, please have the local Sheriff with you because the food they serve you here, is against the law. Lol. All kidding aside, the food here is top 3 I have ever tasted. I have traveled to alot of places on this 3rd rock from the sun, and I have to honestly admit that the service, presentation, taste, portion size are absolutely to die for. I also must give a huge shout out to my bartenders Michelle and Jeremy for their outstanding service.

I wanted to love this but it was really disappointing. I ordered the pricey $75 filet mignon and they served it cut in half. Who does that? It ruined it for me and my Mom’s filet was fatty. The vegetables served with the steaks were all exotic like white carrots and black potatoes and would have been fun to try had they been cooked properly. My Dad didn’t care for the scallops. The sauces that came with the scallops were too over the top for him or gourmet and he got his plain and still didn’t like it.

Enjoyed a nice family dinner on a Thursday night in the dining room. Nice local beer and cider selections. Our family of 6 all enjoyed our meals and appetizers. Western décor and atmosphere was fun. A hopping scene at the bar and lots of big TVs on the walls. This was also a Bike & BBQ night outside on the lawn, so there was live music on a stage and lots of snazzy motorbikes as well as cars. After dinner inside, we grabbed lawn chairs out of our car and listened to the band play until they ended at 9 pm. A great evening.

Waited about 20 minutes to get seated which was fine and outdoor waiting area was nice. Food was very good. Cheese logs was really good. Chili was okay, meatloaf was very dense but really good. Having it wrapped in bacon didn't seem to do much but I love bacon so it was a plus. All the sides were tasty. The standard Old Fashion was solid. Steak was cooked perfectly as requested and flavorful.

The Ruben was well half of it had plenty of corned beef and sour kraut with a touch of thousand Island, the other half had hardly any. The "fresh made" potato chips weren't very fresh-very hard and crispy. We were there during Braddock's flee market next door and always wanted to try it, well with a big event you would think there would be staff=NO. 35 minutes to wait for a table plenty of them open, and waitress only checked on us once before bring bill and asking for boxes. Glad I tried it but will not be back!

Good food. Very busy. There was an even going on the day I stopped. I had no reservation, under 25 min wait, see 📸, 3 ppl, sweet tea & 2 cocktails....app & entrée

The atmosphere in the place reminded me of an old log cabin. It had a very welcoming presence. The service was great, and the lady who served us talked to us and made us feel right at home. The pulled pork is smoked in house and with cheddar, it was one of the best pork sandwiches I have eaten. I substituted fries for a baked potato, and the baked potato was cooked to perfection with lots of butter being offered. They also offer handmade jewelry at the entrance of the restaurant. Overall, this place should be on one's stop going down historic US 40.

Atmosphere- 5 stars- we just happened upon this gem of a restaurant while exploring Rt# 40 just east of Uniontown PA. Beautifully decorated for Halloween. Plenty of indoor seating and very clean. Loved the rustic old house feel with wood floors. Had a full bar and a separate area to order ice cream. Outside there is a pavilion with tons of picnic tables. An old caboose as well for the kids to explore. Service- 5 stars- our waitress Sheri was on top of things. She made sure we had everything and kept our drinks filled. It was busy and it took a little while to get our food but I promise it was worth the wait!! Food- 5 stars- I got the French Onion soup to start and it was very good but when I got my main course- the OG Chicken Wrap- it was amazing!! Probably the best chicken wrap I had ever had. It had this sriracha ranch dressing on it with mushrooms cheese and onions- it was Soooo good. We also got the Dirty Bird- a grilled chicken sandwich with pepper jack cheese, bacon and bbq sauce and again it was awesome!! The chicken was quality with a great flavor. Definitely want to come back here again someday and try something else but it may be hard because I loved what we ordered!! Oh I almost forgot- the fries were fresh cut and perfect!!!

Cool place, low key!

Great outdoor type bar...under roof with open sides. Great service. Did not eat this time...but in the past, pizza was very good. This is just a fun, different place you must see to appreciate. Drink selection is excellent...and there are always plenty of wait staff with little to no waiting.

Drove up for lunch and it was my first time here. Very nice outdoor seating. The the staff was really nice and tentative. I had a hamburger and my friend had a chicken salad. Both were super good. The burger looked amazing!! We also had the hot pepper cheese balls and they were very addicting

Headed from MO to DC and came across this lil road side pizza place and bar. Family was starting so we stopped. Bar tenders were super friendly! Came over and talked to us about our dog and even gave him ice water. Place has a nice laid back country feel. Lots of picnic tables and tvs, looks like they might have bands or used to have bands. We ordered pizza, mozzarella sticks and cheese steak sub. The mozzarella sticks and sub are really good, the pizza was just OK. The dough was hand made daily and it tasted fine, just didn't have a big robust flavor.

We called to request pizza at a specific time (90 minutes from the call) and specifically confirmed that we’d be there at 6:15 to pick it up. What did they do? Made it and let it sit for 45 minutes. Looked horrible. Tasted like cardboard. Do yourself a favor - pick up a pizza for. Costco and bake it yourself. It will be a better experience. Gross. No thanks.

The pizza is amazing 😍 but after visiting multiple times and ordering sweet tea at $2.50 with free refills it suddenly turned to $2.50 no free refills (using a 16oz glass filled with ice). When we inquired we were told no we never provided free refills and the drink cost $2.00, then why have you charged me $2.50 for the three I just had? questionable business practices I think.

It's been a good few years since the last time I ate or even drank here. A lot has changed and considering the nice weather during our visit it was outside my husband and I had the pleasure to enjoy. The bartenders were very helpful and polite. Considering it was our first night out alone in over a year, it was a wonderful time. We played the jukebox which costs yettttt they always do anywhere you go. I must say, they made the absolutely best white Russian alcoholic beverage that I'd ever tasted! The food (wings & fries) was really good and was more than enough, yet we always enjoy taking some home. Thank you for a great experience!
