I booked the combo package with the full river rafting trip and horseback riding—and it was absolutely worth every penny. Our group had the raft to ourselves, and our guide Parrot made the entire experience exciting, fun, and super memorable. The rafting lasted around 6 hours with a break for lunch. The lunch wasn’t anything special, but it was decent. The best part? There was never a dull moment. The rapids were thrilling, the scenery was beautiful, and the energy from the guide really made the day. It felt like a full adventure start to finish. I also appreciated that their storefront was fairly priced—no tourist markups. Drinks, snacks, and ice cream were all reasonably priced, which is rare at places like this. They also give you a free sticker if you follow them on social media, which was a nice touch—although I wish it was a better quality one. The free sticker felt a bit cheap. Overall, I had a blast and would 100% recommend this place if you’re looking for a fun and exciting day outdoors!

RaftOne went Above and Beyond with our experience! They took us Jumping off Rocks on to a Slide, we jumped into The Cats Pajamas Rapid which is 7 different currents converging into one that shoots you down the river - absolutely exhilarating! They also took us on a quick hike to a waterfall midway thru the trip which was beautiful! JB our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable he made this one of the best experiences hands down! He kept the whole family entertained and educated us about the river while giving us confidence on the water. We did the upper and middle sections and they did not disappoint. This was our second time coming here. We did the full rafting (upper and middle) package. Our guide Kitten was amazing! He was very knowledgeable about the area. We had a history lesson and rafting lesson in the form of a stand up comedy. There are a lot of places around that will take you rafting, but I promise you if you want to have a blast, chose Raft1!!! These folks are super passionate about what they do, and they all are hilarious. That’s what sets them above the rest.

Our family had a fantastic experience rafting the middle Ocoee river with Raft1. The number of rafters in our time slot was small (4 rafts), making the experience more personal. Our guide, Toast, tailored the experience to our level of adventure (high adventure) which we appreciated greatly! The guides added some additional activities along the way to include a water slide and waterfall hike mid trip, again adding to the unique experience that sets Raft1 apart from the other companies. Its outpost location is just upriver from the put-in making the shuttle ride brief. The souvenir t-shirt selection and Canopy Cafe provided quality options; the pizza was very tasty and made to order post-trip. I highly recommend using Raft1 for your Ocoee Rafting adventure.

We had an amazing rafting experience with Bucky! He was patient, encouraging knowledgeable, and just a genuinely nice guy. His calm demeanor instantly eased any anxiety I had as a first time rafter. Additionally, the booking experience was a breeze! We will definitely be going back to do the full river experience and I can only hope that we get Bucky again.

Donte and Khalil were absolutely stellar guides. Loved how they kept me safe on the course but still let us have fun. Probably the best zip guides I've ever had. Great place to go to definitely will be coming back. 12/10

Amy & Kalil were amazing zip line guides!! They were very knowledgeable, not only about zip line, but also about the history and flora/fauna of the area. We could tell they truly enjoyed their job and passed on their enthusiasm to us! Highly recommend this activity and we will definitely be doing this again!!

Mike and Kalil were AMAZING guides on this zip line canopy tour! We all (group of 5) had no experience and they went through each step to have fun and be safe. This old lady (41) had a BLAST!

Our group of four had a wonderful ziplining experience here. We were put with another group of three, so seven was a nice number with not much waiting. The guides, Kalil and Amy, were funny, interesting, and enjoyable to be around. They always followed "safety first" to make for a great adventure. Before we started, we all had to step on a scale as you have to be over #60 and under #250. The safety harnesses were in very good condition and we felt secure the entire time. I like that they made an effort to learn our names right away and referred to us by name the entire time. I highly recommend this business and especially Kalil and Amy. Great job!

Had an amazing time with Mike and Ryan at the zip line course. It was my first time zip lining, everyone in my family has done it before. These guys ensured our safety while also telling light-hearted jokes when appropriate. We also learned some cool historical facts about the town and its terrain, and about a few local trees. We are white water rafting tomorrow and hoping we have one of the same guys as our guide!

I had my first zipline experience yesterday and couldn’t have had a better time!! Mike and Dante did an amazing job with safety and spacing of time So that we all got to enjoy each zipline. I will definitely be back!

My son and I took a half-day whitewater rafting trip on the Middle Ocoee using Carolina Ocoee in August 2022. It was a great adventure well organized with a great guide and bus driver. Inexpensive concentrated fun for a few hours! There are many guiding services for the Ocoee and they are all fairly even in pricing. We may have been fortunate that due to our starting location near Morganton, Carolina Ocoee’s base of operations was one of the closest to us so it meant less driving than other guide services located further downriver. We arrived early so had plenty of time to browse around the well stocked shop at Carolina Ocoee which has stuff like water shoes and t-shirts of course including a great adaptation of Hokusai’s Under the Wave off Kanagawa. The rafts were shortly loaded onto the top of a re-purposed school bus and we headed downriver to the takeoff point at Ocoee #2 dam. At this point we picked our guide, Bundy, and along with another couple and Bundy’s instruction, we practiced the commands we would hear from Bundy and how to paddle accordingly in the pool above the dam. We portaged around the dam and started the adventure which is pretty much non-stop rapid after rapid. The rafts are self bailing so even when water comes flooding in from a wave, it quickly clears. Whoever sits in the front gets the brunt of the water and the possibly the most thrill so my son and I swapped positions in the raft with the couple so we could each experience the bow. Bundy provided running commentary on the names of the rapids and the history of the river and several times navigated the raft to ‘surf’ a wave which is kind of crazy that the raft sort of holds steady on the wave while the river rushes on by. At about the mid-pint of the trip there is a quiet water section and it felt really good to hop out of the raft and just float along in the river buoyed up by our life vests. Due to the experience of our guides, the river condition and luck perhaps, none of the rafts in our group flipped or got wrapped on an obstacle. All the while we were rafting down the river, the bus driver advanced the bus down the road in order to capture pictures of the group as we floated past (and to pick us up eventually of course!). About four hours after we left the Carolina Ocoee base of operations we were back safe. The photos taken by the bus driver during the trip were played back on a video monitor and there was the option to buy the set of photos for a memory on a USB stick but it was almost as much as the cost of the trip itself.

I definitely recommend Carolina Ocoee for White Water Rafting! Not only is EVERYONE there extremely friendly, but they are very well trained in what they do. I felt safe and trusted my guide Toni. She was very knowledgeable of our trip, and made everyone feel safe. She is friendly, and had a genuine concern for all her riders. The ALL Day trip is extremely affordable, it was so much fun. The lunch was also very good. Can't wait to go back again soon. You've got to experience adventure aleast once.

Having been on over 15 different rafting trips of the years, this was the best trip, request Les as your guard, we surfed multiple times. Les was able to guide us without wearing us out, land each rapid and dip into the Eddie with professional skill. The best rafting company is Carolina Ocoee so go, and treat yourself to an amazing adventure. Staff was amazing and friendly, family/customer oriented they made us feel special, not just another river floater, asked questions, we gave answers and they delivered 10 fold, if you say you want to surf, get ready, you will surf!

We absolutely had the best time ever! We were 1st time rafters and our guide "Cheese" not only made us feel comfortable but brought allot of comedy to our trip as well. Best guide ever! Everyone at Carolina Ocoee Rafting is, without a doubt, the best. These guides are king/queens on the river. Greg, our tour guide, has a ton of experience of the area around us. I liked how he would give us the name of the forthcoming run and give us rowing instructions to get us ready. Another thing I liked about our guide was how we pulled over to the side to observe others go through a challenging run and did tricks to make all of us passengers laugh. pure delight. Well maintained campground. Beautiful scenery. Large power plant next to it which I don’t love but other than that very pretty. Not extremely crowded but decent amount of threw traffic. And the highway is right on the other side of the river.

Campgrounds were nice, but you can hear the highway from all the campsites which kinda defeats the purpose of camping. They have showers, and there was a river nearby but it had a very strong current so I wouldn't recommend swimming. It rained for our duration here and the lightning forced us to sleep in our car, but that's just chance, not the campground's fault.

Great place for camping. Not too crowded with spaces. I camped there early spring in a tent right on the river. Sites include a very sturdy lantern post, fire ring with built in grill, and picnic table. Tent pads are crushed gravel as are most National Forest Campsites in the area

I camped at Thunder Rock during a swiftwater training weekend and it's a great campground if you either want to be right on the river or have a camper. I do not recommend it for tent camping as they require all tents stay on the crushed gravel pads (no camping on the grass). Beside this rediculous rule, the facilities are great. The restrooms are fairly nice for a campground . Running hot water sinks and showers. Toilet paper, but no soap. The campsites have a picnic table, fire ring with built in metal grill, and metal posts with lantern hooks that are sturdy enough to use for stringing up a tarp. The campground entrance is not obvious, especially if you're driving down river. Look for the power station and a one lane bridge spanning the river. There are signs, but they are rather small and easy to miss.

Well maintained Forest Service campground. Most convenient to the Ocoee. No alcohol permitted. Spacious campsites. Hot showers. Can get loud with rafters on busy weekends. Camp hosts usually very friendly.

Most camping spaces have a nice spacing so a person don't feel cramped in. Just wish they had a dump station there. My wife &I love it there & have for many years.

Good sites next to water, pretty clean bathrooms. Careful with alcohol, most just hide anything in cups but I've heard of people getting kicked out just for having beer visible in their car

We did the full trip with Ocoee Rafting last weekend and had an incredible time! The outpost was clean, well-maintained, and had plenty of changing rooms, showers, and bathrooms. Our guide, Landon, was fantastic. He gave clear instructions before we hit the river and kept things fun throughout. I was on a boat with all guys — they were up for a wild ride, but I really didn’t want to fall out. Landon managed to flip everyone but me and himself out of the boat — it was crazy how he pulled that off in such fast-moving rapids! The Ocoee was absolutely beautiful and by far the most adventurous whitewater trip I’ve done — lots of rapids and nonstop action. If you're looking for a thrilling ride, this is it. Ask for Landon. Your heart will race, the adrenaline will be pumping — and it’s totally worth it!

Great time on the Ocoee rafting the full river. Kinda got swallowed by Godzilla on the upper, but the whole experience was awesome. Thank you to Cheese our guide who amazingly stayed in the raft!

Can’t say enough about our trip! We did the middle river and our guide Josey was amazing! We had a blast, our 12(girl) 17 (boy) and wife and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience, from booking online to them calling ahead to let us know there was a small delay due to how busy the river was that day. Check in was a breeze, and quick safety brief, loaded busses and met our guide down on the river at the launch spot. Went through safety brief with guide and then straight to the adventure. If you’re on the fence about going just do it, promise you won’t be disappointed!

We had such a blast doing the Full Ocoee with guide Cheese!! Such a fun guy, but on the river highly focused and very precise commands. We got the thrill ride our boat wanted, but never felt unsafe. Also, he gave us lots of interesting information on the river and the area. Overall company: Great team, highly organized getting ready and wrapping up after the event, great teamwork among the guides on the river. Very nice outpost location and equipment, booking process easy.

Took the family down the Ocoee River with Quest. Did the middle trip and had a blast. Big John was our guide, and that Tennessee stump jumper is a raftin boat Captain! Highly recommended.

10/10 recommended!! I did the full river trip last weekend with friends and it was SOOO fun! Our guide Bode was excellent! He was very knowledgeable, gave clear instructions and was playful enough to make the trip down the river unforgettable. The entire trip was great but my favorite rapid was the Cat’s Pajamas. Bode gave us the option to take the more calm route or the more adventurous. (we choose the more adventurous route) He warned us that there was a high chance we all would end up out of the raft and sure enough we did BUT it was FUN!! I highly recommend you request Bode if you want a fun, knowledgeable, and personable guide who has a great sense of humor and a way of making you feel safe. The entire process from booking the trip, check in, rafting and returning to the outpost was smooth and easy. The restrooms/changing areas are clean and dry. The outpost/check in area was very cozy with rocking chairs, and plenty of shaded areas to wait until you load the bus. The buses are clean and the driver was very friendly. You could tell the different rafting companies based on the color of their raft. The blue rafts (Ocoee Rafting co) appeared to be having more fun than the other colored rafts and just seemed to be better organized and more put together.

We had the best experience! Our guide, Shawn, was so knowledgeable—he explained everything clearly and made everyone feel comfortable. The rapids were challenging in the best way, and the views from the raft were absolutely beautiful. The facilities were spotless and welcoming. Honestly, none of us wanted it to end—I wish we could’ve done the longer trip! This was a memory I’ll never forget. If you’re planning a trip, do it—you won’t regret it.

This is such a good museum! They have a short video, and many, many artifacts and pictures telling the story of mining in the copper basin. The guides were very informative and showed a passion for telling this area's history. As a bonus, the museum has beautiful mountain views for 360 degrees.

Really educating about the mining, and the history of the area. There’s a great collection of different things related to the mining, and the miners. There’s a film they screen for you before you tour the museum. It’s really a lovely place to visit.

Very interesting. I was impressed with all they had to teach me. Guides are knowledgeable & friendly. The minute they made to tell about the area is nominated for an Emmy. It’s the best museum info movie I’ve ever seen. This place doesn’t look like much, but it will surprise you.

This was a great place to visit to understand the history and economy of the local area. The employees are happy to let you browse or to walk you through. We chose the latter, and it really added a lot of context and was very interesting. It's a great value too! I highly recommend visiting to anyone visiting the area!

Very informative description of the copper mining and sulphuric acid production in the area, and later reclamation of the the mined areas. I had assumed it was strip mined, but it was mainly deep shafts thousands of feet down. After leaving the museum so many remains were obvious when going to Copperhill. I took some time to visit after whitewater paddling. Very knowledgeable museum guide. There's outside exhibits, inside exhibits and a movie.

Was there in 1995 when it was just an abandon copper mine. It was amazing. Looked like the workers just walked away one day and never came back. All these years later, we still talk about that day. Would like to go back one day and see the museum.

Stumbled upon this place after my car broke down in Copperhill. It was so awesome! The history behind it was fascinating and the scenery was gorgeous. There were a couple of exhibits that were no longer accessible and that was somewhat disappointing but it's definitely still worth visiting as there are lots of other exhibits to see. This is a great place for families, but most of the exhibits are outdoors so go on a nice day.

20/10 on everything here! I was just taking a little day trip on the train and got to stop for lunch. After shopping around a bit I noticed this place was pretty busy so I figured it must be good! I was not mistaken, or disappointed!! This was fast friendly walk up service and the menu was simple enough to decide quickly. I did not want to get a big lunch since I had limited time so I went with chicken soup and a Cuban pork tamale with some green sauce and of course a rum cake to take home. THIS TAMALE WAS LIKE NO OTHER IVE EVER HAD! The flavor of the pork, and tamale was moist and just delicious I had to tell her I never had such a good tamale and I can’t wait to make another special trip to visit again!! Also a side note they have gluten free rum cakes and tamales are gluten free as well as a few other options.

I tried the beef empanada and limoncello rum cake. The rum cake is EXTREMELY moist and perfect to share. The beef empanada was a yummy snack. If you come here for lunch I would get more than a single empanada! If you’re wanting to hop from place to place to snack, this place is perfect :) Cool chill vibes.

We love this spot. We come here when ever we have a craving for an authentic Cuban sandwich. I recommend the midnight sandwich. The sweet plantains are absolutely delicious. Of course the rum cake is amazing but they have so many other desserts as well. This time we had the dulce de Leche cheesecake. Can't forget to mention the black beans and rice. Run dont walk to rum cake lady!

Authentic Cuban and Excellent! We are fans of Cuban food and were delighted to find this gem in Copper Hill TN / McCaysville GA. I had Ropa Vieja Beef with black beans and rice with flan for dessert. My wife got chicken empanadas, papa rellena and ham croquetas. My dad had a turkey Cubano sandwich. All were excellent quality and authentic Cuban.

I LOVE this place! The Cuban sandwich was delicious and so were the yuca fries, tostones and rum cake! My friend was even able to get a Cuban sandwich with gluten free bread and a gluten free rum cake. Will definitely be going back any time I’m in the area.

Had lunch here on a busy Saturday afternoon. The service was friendly and efficient and the restaurant was very clean. The food was hot and tasty. We sampled several items and were happy with everything. The beef empanada was our favorite, although not pictured!

My family of four visited The Rum Cake Lady in McCaysville, and we absolutely loved it! I had a burger, my wife ordered the Ropa Vieja bowl, and our kids enjoyed cheese pastries and mac & cheese. Of course, we couldn’t leave without sharing some of their famous rum cake — it was delicious! Liz took great care of us and made us feel right at home. Even though the place was busy, the service was warm and attentive. The atmosphere made us feel like we were right in Cuba. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for great food and an authentic, welcoming experience!

This is definitely a locals hangout spot. Service is meh. They serve typical diner breakfast fare. Omelettes, pancakes, eggs, sausage, ect. The bacon omelette I had was good. My fiancee had grits and toast, and they were ok. Just not a memorable place.

Hubby and I were passing through and came across this little gem. The food was excellent and I was pleasantly surprised how the cook/owner came out to greet her regular guests. Something you never see in a big city or even a chain restaurant. When traveling, wherever we go, we always seek out the local small businesses.

Don't waste your time searching, you have found the place. Best breakfast in town, shoot, even the Blue Ridge area. Come support small business, you won't be disappointed. Come hungry, leave extremely satisfied and happy!

Took my wife thir after going to dr appt. We both had a omelette. Service was good but our omelets was over cooked. Seemed like they were more into taking care of their reagurals . We both grew up in that area. Not recommended for sure.! Hardies is what I recommend if you are in Ducktown

Very eclectic and very much a hometown crowd. The ladies couldn't be nicer but our food was pretty mediocre. They were pretty busy so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt. My husband's eggs were not quite cooked through while my omelet was very dry.

This cafe is hidden away in a quiet little town in the Appalachian mountains. Don't let it fool you, as it has great food and character as well. The philly steak and cheese was delicious, and very reasonably priced. A lot of the items on the menu were under $10. I will certainly be wanting some more as I pass through the area in the future.

Had a great local feel and food was very good. Waffle was good, grits were good, it was all very tasty. My one issue was, and I understand inflation is getting bad, but they added a $4 upcharge for some country ham that I added to a $5.75 western omelet, which I've never heard of a western omelet NOT having ham in it already. If it's just vegetables, then it's a vegetarian omelet, am I mistaken?

A ton of fun! Even my wife loved it, though he expression says otherwise... We will definitely do it again! Alexander (who looks, sounds and acts like Jack Black) was a treat and very experienced getting us into the scariest of places 😳 🤔. Loved every minute

This is our second time using this Rolling Thunder River Co. First time white water rafting. What an incredible experience! The boys were entertained by playing basketball while we waited. They provided bubbles and chalk for the kiddos. The bus ride was even fun! Our guide, Bret was super cool and chill. 🤙🏼We definitely had the best from the rest.😎 Bret, you rock! 10/10 Thank you for such an awesome experience and memories to last a lifetime! This was my first time for my friend and I to go kayaking down the Toccoa River. We appreciated such great customer service! Also, a thank you to Richard for helping us to get our kayak in the river and giving us instructions on how to kayak. He was great!

Hands down the best river rafting trip we've ever had! Barbie (like the doll she says 🤣) was a totally awesome river guide! She's been a river guide in the Grand Canyon, Alaska and Africa and is totally badass and awesome! Everyone at Rolling Thunder in McCaysville were fantastic crew including the blind bus driver! 🤣

It was a fun experience! We went at 2:30, so we only did about 30 mins of tubing due to fast waters. (But we knew this beforehand.) Everyone was nice and it was a smooth, easy process.

Relaxing time floating down the river. There are always some loud and obnoxious groups that can ruin the peace. Water temperature was pleasant in early August. There were a couple places to stop off to collect some rocks, especially the sparkling kind (doesn't show well on pictures). Definitely would like to go once a year.

Had a wonderful experience tubing down the river. No wait for the shuttle or the tubes. Got safety vests and robes to connect the tubes. Affordable and friendly staff! So much laughter and relaxation- do it! Clean river.

I recommend calling ahead before coming here to make sure the time you plan to come isn’t during high water. The high water (I guess they open up a dam or something and this raises the water level) makes the ride not only very short, but hard to navigate and uncomfortably deep.

We loved this experience so much! We tubbed on one day during our vacation and immediately knew we had to come back. Before we left to go home, we came back to enjoy the river. Toccoa River company at one point in the day allows a second a second trip in the same day for half price! So we took advantage of that and enjoyed our adventure. The tubes were clean, the bus transportation was perfect, and everyone was so nice. Very accommodating and definitely recommend getting a cooler tube! We will be back on our next vacation!

My friends and I went tubing on yesterday August 31st at 1:30 pm. The actual tubing on the river was wonderful. The staff is awful. We were given no instruction on what we needed to do to get out of the river. We were tied together and the staff allowed us to continue to float pass the exit point. No assistance was provided. We were forced to swim back and bring the tubes with us to the bank. The staff had all climbed back up the hill. Another family asked the staff why they didn’t assist us and they were told we shouldn’t been where we were. Don’t recommend!!

Lots of nice shops. I do not recommend the Christmas shop. Beautiful things but each customer is hovered over. Very uncomfortable. Loved the guy at Sweets shops. Was so nice. I need get him send me some more banana candy sticks

Totally worth the drive up from Kennesaw Atlanta or down from the mountains wherever you may be. We went here for the Christmas shopping experience having rode the train, unbelievable opportunity and day to spend in the mountains of Tennessee in Georgia. Blue Ridge mountains are absolutely beautiful a fun drive up and multiple things to do around the community. The beautiful Toccoa river And the Ocoee river are in this region. So many different shops to pop in and things to buy for everyone. 🇺🇸👏🏽🐺

First time to go to Copperhill TN. We went on a Wednesday and the restaurants didn't open until 4PM which was disappointing. However we kept walking around the town and found a fabulous Mexican restaurant and had a great lunch. We really liked the town and will go back.

The River Walk Shops are a charming little gem in this small town. Each shop has its own unique style and personality—perfect for browsing and finding something special. There’s also an eatery right on the river with a beautiful view overlooking the bridge. It’s peaceful, scenic, and a great place to relax while enjoying a meal. Definitely worth a visit!

This was a very nice place to visit, nd relax away from home a good place to just come out to walk around and have fun, I walked into a cute store and pick up some nice trinkets here, some earrings bracelets nd some rock, I had posted this message on the wrong post, but it was for this little store, but the Walmart was also very nice cus I am a Walmart queen, I live at Walmart, but back to this place it was a must visit place, so nice.

I ordered a double Frisco burger, but the patties were overcooked on one side and the bread had a burnt, almost charred taste that really took away from it. At the counter, it seemed like a new employee was running the register—she was very slow, got mixed up with bagging, and didn’t come across as personable, which made the service feel a bit disorganized. While the burger was edible, the overall experience left a lot to be desired, and this particular location wouldn’t be my first choice for a return visit.

Ordered an Omelette Biscuit, got a sausage and egg. Four cars in the driveway through and three people at the counter, I counted seven employees behind the counter. Why are there ten minute ticket times? The dining room was COLD, it was 60° and foggy outside which was warmer than in here. It's good for them that I'm from out of town, if I where a local I'd never come back.

Great place to grab a bite before or after playing in the river. Always great service as well as hot food. Great location and the employee's there always move the line fast. Might be a little slower during breakfast time but that is because they are making your food fresh. Thank you!

Fast and easy to understand drive thru. Forgot the fries to our combo order but rectified without hassle right away so no big deal. Love hardees.

One of the best Hardee's I've ate at! The staff is always fun, polite, kind and helpful. The order is always presented quickly, correctly and the quality us always on point! The staff makes sure the facility and grounds are clean and well maintained! Our Ducktown Hardee's is a local favorite!

Great food always comes out with fresh Greens on it no ends of tomatoes so the best part fresh fries no cold ones and I am sorry the shakes we know they are a treat so glad they are in ducktown best Hardee's around.

Don't get the lunch bag special. The double cheeseburger was dried out,even the bun was hard. Ham and cheese had tiny bit of ham on it. I was very disappointed.
