Nature & Parks
Dingmans Falls is a stunning 130-foot waterfall located in the woods, accessible via various family-friendly trails. The Dingmans Creek Trail, less than a mile long and mostly stroller and wheelchair accessible, leads to this natural wonder. Visitors can also reach the falls from Doodle Hollow Road, though the trail may be challenging to follow. Once there, well-maintained viewing areas provide excellent vantage points for capturing the beauty of the falls.
Very accessible. The boardwalk run all the way past the Silver Thread Falls into Dingmans Falls. There is stair near the end of the boardwalk that brings you to the to of Dingmans Falls.

Beautiful I went when it was off season I suppose because the gift shop was closed but the bathroom was open! It’s very walkable and wheelchair friendly! Easy hike if you want to call it that. The waterfall is beautiful
Allison M — Google review
beautiful free hike with really nice views. Finally found the national park passport and saw little kids getting sword in to protect and love Mother Earth. It was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen. There was no wait and the trail was easy to do from top to bottom.
Tatiana — Google review
Visited: 4/19/2025 Amazing waterfalls. Easily accessible. Boardwalk trail from the parking lot leads to the falls. On the way you will see another waterfall called Silverthread water falls, aptly named.
Vijay C — Google review
Good park, good place… Good for walking, observing nature and spending a different time alone or with others.
Angel M — Google review
Quick, beautiful, and free hike with nice views. Although the stairs aren’t wheelchair accessible most of the rest of the trail is somewhat. There was no wait when we visited. For reference it was around 1pm on May Wednesday. When we left more people were arriving.
Mig D — Google review
It was a great experience both water falls are super fantastic views you gonna love it we enjoyed a lot
Jakka A — Google review
An amazing falls with well maintained area by NPS, with easily accessible location. Trails to falls are wheelchair accessible and neatly maintained. Wheel chair accessible trail leads to bottom of the falls for an amazing viewpoint. From there you have bit of steep stairs to access top of the falls to have a view. Personally the best view is from the bottom , sound of water fall was amazing with surreal feel. Parking area is enough for about 60 cars and the welcome center is closed on off season. There were mobile toilets about 4 in location. No water accessible to take a dip. Rest benches are located all along the trail and about 3 benches bottom of the falls to experience the fall view. Trash cans are available on parking. Not sure about the refreshments availability but surely bring water. Trail itself is easy to do and kids friendly. Along the trail you will see silver thread falls which is about 150 feet from parking lot. Did not find any picnic benches though. All in all a well worth place to visit with friends and family. Cellphone signals is off in many spots but from parking you might get signals based on your provider.

Kittatinny Canoes - Dingman's Base

Kayaking & Canoeing
Kittatinny Canoes - Dingman's Base is a fantastic destination for those looking to explore the beautiful Delaware River. Whether you're a novice or an experienced paddler, this outfitter offers various trips, including a five-hour paddle from River Beach to Dingman's Base and a shorter three-hour option that suits many adventurers. The check-in process is seamless, with professional shuttling services ensuring you get to your starting point without hassle.
We went with a group of 21 people and had a great time. All were novices in kayaks for the five-hour paddle trip from River Beach to Dingman's Base (bridge pictured below). There is also a three-hour trip, which would have been fine for most. We met at Dingman's base, and the check-in and shuttling from Base to River Beach was smooth and professional. Make sure to stop several times along your paddle at sunny, rocky "beaches" along the way. That's where the kids enjoyed finding wildlife like frogs, tadpoles, snails and crayfish. We also saw a bald eagle and great blue heron. Another exciting aspect of this trip (mid-June) was the shad run. These 18" long fish were heading in from the ocean, up the river by the hundreds, and you could see them swimming up in groups, and spawning by the dozens, and then swimming slowly around afterwards (even bumping into the boat once), and eventually dying naturally (and giving the water new nutrients) - the cycle of life. This is my family's third time with Kittatinny Canoes and each time has been great.
Joseph B — Google review
The kayak were great. We were a group of 30+ people they had no problems transporting and keeping our reservation. We did have one kayak that was a lemon, one party member had a hole in her kayak, kinda dangerous if your going down 12 miles of river. Protip check your kayak before you head out.
Philip L — Google review
You lost out on $900 this season, and annually. Agree with the recent reviews. Take the Dingman's parking option and route off your website entirely. Emails and calls for months, constantly got the run around and was told on the phone I need a group of 30 in order to park there and be taken to River Beach and float down, instead of the 14 that I was bringing to your company. Gladly chose Adventure Sports for $200 less and canoeing the lower river. Will actively use other outfitters going forward for our annual reunion trips. You tried to undo last years trip and sorry I gave the benefit of the doubt that a group would be honored this year.

Awesome rafting trip each time... I've enjoyed this establishment for decades .. it's always a great time to get out with a group of people on the Delaware river... Kittatinny is the perfect place to go & the service is professional and prompt. I highly recommend these outfitters for your recreational plans... Check it out !! 5 big stars
ELP E — Google review
Wait times were intolerable, was forced to wait 2 hours at the site while waiting for booking. In itself, that would have been fine. The end of the trip was much crazier. Once we got to the pick up site we saw other companies with many vans and trips constantly ferrying people and boats to and from the site. We asked about this company, and without fail, every single other company said "Those guys are notorious for making their boaters wait." How right the competition turned out to be. My father-in-law waited with our canoes for pick up, while the rest of us got a separate ride home. We were told someone was on their way at 4:00 PM. The ride itself is only 30 minutes. My father in law didn't get back until 8:45 PM! It take them nearly 5 hours to get him and to drop him off. We worried something happened but couldn't reach anyone at the company, and after a long overnight trip his cell phone battery had died. Would not go with this company again, it isn't worth the massive wait times and lack of communication.
Rajen P — Google review
If I could leave zero stars, I would do that. This place is terrible. Do not use them. We reserved two kayaks for an overnight trip on 6/29/19. After we ran into thunderstorms and lightning, we were unable to stay on the river. Their employees informed us that they would issue a rain check for the second day if we called the reservation number the next day. After calling the reservation number, they said they would not issue a rain check because we did not ask for it before we left. This seems like strange logic, as we clearly are not able to predict the weather before leaving. Just plain terrible customer service. There are many other outfits on the river. I would definitely use one of them. We learned our lesson.
Casey S — Google review
I paid for my trip last year. It happened to rain on that day so I postponed it. On the day when I was supposed to go, I didn’t want to have it postponed again so I asked for a refund. Instead I was told that I can I keep my reservation for next year (2019). So I called Kittatinny a week ago only to find out that my reservation no longer exists. After a long phone call, speaking to a very rude worker who had no intentions of caring for costumer service - I was offered only half of what I paid as a voucher. I would not recommend booking with this company, as they may offer you one thing and fail to keep their promises. Be careful with how you spend your money.

I never give anyone a bad review. However, I would be remiss if I didn't give the review deserved. I am a single father with two adult children. No kayak experience. I specifically asked if the water was moving faster than usual and they response "not too bad." We were driven to the drop site with another family, a father with a 10 year old and 15 year old. They were going to take a canoe and a kayak. Once in the water my son's Kayak was leaking very badly, , the river was swollen to the gill from heavy rain and deceptively strong. With the flimsy life vests there is no way any of us would have come out if we went in the water. I am certain we would have drown. God and luck were on our side because we made it. No other boats , people or a place to stop except one kayak 1/2 mile from the boat launch. Sign the waiver and take your chances!! I asked both my kids if they in good conscious could have pushed us or the family behind us in the water. They both said No!!!! I hope to god the people behind us changed their mind because I never saw them on the river and I looked for them several times. The ocean puts up red flags when there is a rip tide. However, if you sign the waiver anyone can take a canoe or kayak. Final instructions, stay to the right, be back by 6, park you kayak after the bridge and walk to your car. They wouldn't even refund the money for the leaking kayak number 7 if you want a miserable time. Sincerely, Michael

Dingmans Ferry Bridge

4.5

Historical landmark
Dingmans Ferry Bridge is a charming and historic landmark, known as one of America's last private toll bridges. The bridge is operated by a friendly team of veterans and their family members who ensure a pleasant crossing experience. With its picturesque views, the bridge offers stunning scenery, especially in the morning. It costs $1 to cross the narrow, wrought iron bridge, and payment must be made in cash to the toll collector standing under the canopy at the toll plaza.
Great family spot and great for a motorcycle ride. We rode up last weekend. Went to the falls and had a blast - the falls are an easy 5min walk. Great places to eat around there also. Keep $2 cash handy for the toll lol.
Rutvik P — Google review
I have adored this bridge for decades ever since crossing over her as a Boy Scout in the early 1980s. She is a stout, wrought-iron girl built from the components of a train bridge that once crossed the Susquehana River. Her massive iron pier guards no doubt allowed her to survive severe flooding in 1903, 1955, 2005, and 2006. She is, I believe, the fourth bridge to span this spot over the Delaware. The former bridges lacked her fortitude and resilience. She is the last privately-owned toll bridge over the Delaware River, owned by the Dingman family. Interestingly, no toll is charged for those traveling to church or a funeral.
Shelly — Google review
I love this bridge, the style, and the old fashioned, pay with cash, not ezpass. The view from the bridge is great!
Justin H — Google review
Nice stop! You can have a picnic here since they have table and benches. This park have a boat launch area. Perfect for a rest stop but the bathrooms are closed when we stopped by.The toll on the bridge is $2 cash.

Frank Z — Google review
First review: Very narrow bridge so cross slowly with your mirrors folded. View on the bridge is amazing. Be prepared to have dollar change with you because as you can see in the picture, no ezpass, cash toll collected by employee who stands between two lanes. 😀 2nd review: I crossed this bridge 2nd time on 4th of July, 2019 and had a bad experience. On the bridge, before toll collector, three volunteers were wearing same color clothing as toll collector and standing in line very close to bridge, I thought they are toll collectors so gave one dollar toll and moved on. At the starting of the bridge, saw miserable lady standing so I thought I gave toll already so kept driving passed her and next thing is, she started screaming loudly this is a toll bridge, like I was going to run off for $1.00 toll, I stopped and told her that I gave toll to one of the gentleman already, she says those are volunteers like I knew. These volunteers were wearing same vest as toll collector and no sign of name of their charity. Her attitude was disgusting and unprofessional. We pay $19 toll on verrazano bridge in NYC sometimes twice a day so $1.00 toll is not an end of the world for us. This senior citizen lady needs a serious attitude adjustment and needs to come out from cocoon of small town world. It was a genuine mistake and never seen volunteers standing so close to toll booth and never seen toll collector collecting toll out in open. This bridge needs Ezpass toll collection very soon so employee like her do not spread misery on an Independence day.

I've been bringing my 7th graders here for a few years for their annual overnight trip. Every time we go it is a fantastic experience and the students really love it. The instructors and staff are super friendly; it's a great place!

Very cool place with some interesting exhibits, and great nature trails. Tons of great activities for the kids. Be sure to check it out when you're in the area!
Brian W — Google review
The trails at PEEC are very nice and well-marked, which made hiking easy to enjoy. I understand there hasn’t been much rain recently, so conditions were a bit dry, but that’s no fault of anyone. The area itself is beautiful and definitely worth exploring. What fell a little short for me was the information building — there really wasn’t much there, and it felt like it could offer more for visitors. The staff also didn’t come across as particularly welcoming, which made the experience less inviting. Overall, the trails are great if you’re looking to hike, but the facilities and staff experience could use some improvement.

Beautiful, clean trails and waterfall. We did the three mile Tumbling Waters loop. We were pressed for time but we will come back to finish the other trails.

Pretty much closed inside. But the trails are great. Wear good hiking shoes, bring a hiking pole or stick and get ready to work out those legs. Flat to rooted to rocky trail. But the view was amazing. Moderate to difficult hike
Sunni M — Google review
We started hike with our dog on easy Two Ponds trail, then branched off onto Tumbling Waters trail to the falls, listed as a moderate 3.3 mile. Made for a nice hour and half workout on nicely maintained and marked trails. Will be returning to try out the Ridgeline Trail loop in the near future.
Thomas K — Google review
This place is both beautiful and Old School Cool! As a kid of the 80s I fondly remember visits to Environmental centers chock full of static displays, info graphics, maps focused on education. This place does not disappoint in that respect. We hiked the Tumbling Waters trail, marked orange and about 3 miles. All said and done it was about 4 miles including visiting the falls and walking around the center. The falls were beautiful and well worth the hike to get there. Also of special note were the trail maps, with points of interest labeled and marked on trees which tell you the history of the area. Being a new part time resident of the Poconos I found the info very educational about the general area, flora, etc. I’ll definitely recommend this to all I visitors as a great place to visit and hike!

Chris and Gina's Café is a top-notch American restaurant that offers a wide range of delicious dishes. They serve fresh salad greens and custom-made entrees, ensuring that nothing is frozen. Unlike many other restaurants, they don't rush their customers out; instead, you can relax, chat with your companions, and take your time to digest the scrumptious food.
FRESH salad greens and made-to-order entres. Gina is Full Blooded Italian this means for all those in the cheap seats, all orders will be made as you order: nothing frozen! You will NOT be rushed out either. You and your guests can relax, talk, digest and repeat. Entres were hot and out of the oven. Excellent salmon with a lemon, dill sauce with risotto and three veggies that were crisp! The pics are what's in the process of being eaten. 1/2 chick Parm sandwich. You WILL need a to-go box. Chicken ceaser wrap. HUGE portions. Excellent value. 5 stars. We'll be back. This was an excellent first visit.

Excellent small-town restaurant. Courteous staff and fantastic food. The portions are generous for the price. The food is cooked to order, so don't expect a quick meal, but that's part of why we love to eat here.

You will be so glad you did! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Thank you Chris and Gina's!!! We'll be back! Definitely!!!

I was very pleasantly surprised the dining area has about 8 tables for dining in. Since this is my first time here and can't make a comparison I will rate it on today's experience. The service was very good and the prices are reasonable, my salad was a nice mix of baby greens, grape tomatoes, cucumbers and onion, very fresh and tasty. I ordered the chicken franchise and it was exceptional, it was very tender and tasty and the abundant amount of pasta and house vegetables made for a wonderful dish. I most certainly will be back here at this gem in Dingman's Ferry, I look forward to trying another entree here, and to coin a phrase " make this my go to place". Great job to all involved!

We found this place on Google while driving and stopped for some lunch, I’m so glad that we did because the food was delicious. We had the BLT and it was the best I’ve ever had hands down. The lettuce and tomato were fresh and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is nice and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely come here again.

Never had a bad meal. Ordered catering for New Years. Food was done exactly on time so it wasn’t sitting around all day. May have been the best Chicken Cordon Blue I ever had. The vodka penne and Stuffed Sol were great as well. Prices were no higher than any other place I checked out and that staff is always pleasant to deal with. Will be having them cater everything I do now.
