Great place! Puts the campgrounds in Ontario to shame. Beautiful hikes, nice visitor center, clean. And only a half hour or so away from Quebec City! What a gem. Will definitely be back. I camped there for three nights in October
David J — Google review
What a beautiful place. Truly, nature has blessed Quebec in general, but this park is surreal. Great options for hiking, skiing, biking etc. We came when the temperature was around -15, and will definitely make another round in summers/falls when it apparently is equally mind-blowing!! The staff is equally courteous. Hats off to them as well.
Rohan — Google review
Big variety of activities in jaw dropping scenery that can be dampened at times by too many people on narrow paths and small viewing areas. A gem of a National park, just be strategic to avoid letting your experience be ruined by the many loud or inconsiderate hikers and crowded spaces.
Marcel B — Google review
Breathtaking views during the fall! We visited the park on the first weekend of October and had an amazing experience! Good facilities with washrooms and a small snack bar. We had no problems parking (we arrived around 10:30 AM).
Nayane — Google review
I hiked at this spot and found it to be a refreshing escape from the city. The breathtaking views along the trail make it worth every step, and there are plenty of viewpoints to stop and take in the scenery. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking for a pleasant outing, this hike is definitely worth it!
Elsaid E — Google review
Visited the park over the mid October weekend to observe some fall foliage and enjoy nature. The park gets quite busy so make sure to purchase your tickets online for ~$10 per adult. There are other purchase options. Admittedly, Parks Canada manages parks better than Sepaq. Roads are not maintained as well, narrow roads, signage not so clear etc. The people that work at the park make up for this, as they are friendly and helpful! Highly recommend the Les Cascades trail! Peaceful, relatively easy hike with some nice spots to enjoy fall foliage.
The T — Google review
This is a great National Park right beside Québec City that I highly recommend! The facilities and camping grounds are well maintained, and there is plenty of stuff to do here! You can bike, hike, kayak and even easy levels of rafting that you can book through SEPAQ. The views of the valley are also gorgeous! We really enjoyed our time here and disconnected with nature!
Generalarry — Google review
We booked a kayaking tour through the park which started/ended at the visitors center. The prices were very affordable and there were many options (single kayak, double kayak, inflatable canoe, canoe and raft). You do not need prior experience to book this tour but do go through Class I & II rapids (this basically means that there’s running water and it would be pretty hard to injure yourself). You do not get any technical advice for maneuvering your watercraft but they shuttle you to the drop in point upstream and point out some of the rapids. You will most likely be rafting with a lot of people, so you will rarely feel alone with no one to help you if you need help. The river also follows the road almost the whole time, so you are not in a remote area, although it still is very scenic. Our trip began with many frustrations as we got stuck on rocks a lot in the beginning. We were in the two person inflatable canoe which would just sit on the top the rocks and not budge (unlike a plastic kayak….) however the inflatable canoe sits higher and my mom who is scared of water felt more comfortable. We were also told water does not get into them and this proved to be true. I ended up having to get out and pull our raft off the rocks. The water is very shallow where most of the rapids are so this was easy to do but I’m sure you want to avoid this as much as possible to not hurt yourself. We also never tipped over nor did I see anyone else tip over. My mom initially wanted to portage all the rapids but after we went down the first rapid (because it is very near the drop in and as others have stated is very tricky) she was fine with the others. There is one rapid you have to portage if you are renting a vessel from the park. The portage is maybe 1/4 of a mile. Many people took breaks carrying their rafts/kayaks. With that all being said it was very scenic and the rapids are really fun once you get the hang of it! It is easier to maneuver a kayak by yourself…and always try to paddle in the “V” between rocks. My mom who is deathly scared of water had a fun time. There are little beaches where you can stop and eat snacks. They have dry bags that are first come at the visitors center.

Parks
Mount Wright Ancient Forest Park is a sanctuary of ancient trees, offering hiking trails suitable for all levels. The conservatory preserves some of the oldest trees in the province, providing a beautiful natural setting to explore. The park features easy, intermediate, and challenging trails with lookout points offering stunning views. Visitors can bring their dogs on leash and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. In winter, hikers may encounter some challenges due to unclear paths but are rewarded with breathtaking scenery at the summit.
Great for cardio 😅. Be prepare to pay a fee ! If you are not a Stoneham's resident it's 8$ per person to access the park (but parking is free). There is a payment station similar to a parking one at the entrance. If you are from Stoneham you need to have a proof of residence on you just in case. I didnt get controlled during my hike though. pretty forest

We hiked in a beautiful snowfall but did not go too far because the rocks were slippery. Beautiful hike I want to go again!
Brian E — Google review
This was my first visit here. I loved the hike to the top! Idid all trails including "sentier vailla nt" which is considered very difficult. I would not take kids up this particular trail but, I did not find it extremely difficult. I highly recommend this hike to all nature lovers! This is a little gem in stoneham!
Irma — Google review
It is a relatively easy hike, 1.5 hours up and 1 hour down. The rock formation is interesting to look at. Great place for rock climbing. The view from the top is nice.

Loved this place. We took a walk around 2 hours. Had a nice viewpoint. Although it rained the whole time we walked very peaceful over there. Not many people on a Monday

Beautiful path. If you like some challenges, harder path has parts which resembles rock climbing involving frozen surface. You need to be careful but a very satisfying feeling when you climb up!

Beautiful view from the summit. In the winter the path wasn't marked as clearly so I took a wrong turn or two based on footprints. But I loved it. Bring some peanuts to feed the chipmunks at the top!

We brought our kids here for a long weekend getaway. The trails are very well maintained, there were no line-ups at the lift and the there was terrain for all levels. The staff were all so friendly and accommodating, the food at the chalet was great and the overall feel was quaint and relaxed. I would definitely come back, we had a great time.

Place is really good. When I turn my car into resort parking, I really excited because of resort location. It’s very clean and staff is also helpful. I would highly recommend this place to stay. And for sure I’ll come back

Stoneham Ski Resort is a great spot for beginners. The slopes are easy to navigate, and the staff is very supportive, making it a perfect place to learn and practice skiing. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the facilities are well-maintained. A solid choice for those starting out on the slopes!

We stayed her in the summer it was super quiet the hotel room was nice and cheap . Re: the mountain we are skiers and would not come here in the winter as it’s known to be super cold. We prefer skiing lake placid as the runs are much longer and has the best vertical drop that we have skied in the east
Robert B — Google review
The green line here was more difficult than the blue line in Tahoe. It’s fun and after the snow storm, there was a lot of snow and not much ice. It wasn’t a big ski resort, but it was good. The restaurant in the resort was good and they have Starbucks.
Flora C — Google review
Great ski mountain. Lots of trails and equipment and parking. They also have lockers for rent. They do skiing and snowboarding lessons. We tried this and were disappointed with the English skills of our guide. I would have rather been told that there were just no lessons in English instead. But I would come back here for anything outside of getting lessons in English.

Great place to ski...it's a zoo on weekends though. This mountain offers many challenging trails within a 15-20 drive from Quebec city. It's a great location and its a well kept secret local mountain! Definitely one of the hills to try while in Quebec. The cafeteria food is also very good, especially the poutine and fries and gravy!
Gordon N — Google review
Great mountain near the heart of QC City! Plenty of family-friendly slopes as well as more challenging ones. Lots of fun underwood slopes. I recommend going early as the waiting time for chairlifts are short and there are a lot of people who come for evening passes.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's is a classic fast-food chain that has stood the test of time, renowned for its delicious burgers and crispy fries. If you're looking for a quick breakfast before work or need to refuel during a long drive, this location is an excellent choice. Many visitors appreciate the cleanliness and spaciousness of the restaurant, along with friendly staff who ensure your meal is served hot and fresh. With ample parking and various seating options available, it’s perfect for both dine-in or takeout experiences.
Very clean store ..our food was hot 🔥 .. lots of parking Very nice staff ...our good was fantastic 👏

Fries were cold. Had to ask for new ones even at the counter a bunch of homeless people outside and inside the restaurant not a great place to bring the family.

Hi all, I am visiting Quebec, and particularly staying near to this location of McDonalds. I placed an order on Skip The Dishes (Order Number: 441735650). Order was: 3 - Junior Chicken Burger 3 - Habanero Chicken Burger Meal 1 - Habanero Chicken Burger (Burger Only) All the Habaneros came with only Habanero Sauce in the boxes, please see the photo attached. Ridiculous and absolutely pathetic behaviour the workers who worked on this order. What pleasure and happiness did this give to them is what something only they know. After seeing this, I immediately started a chat with Skip the Dishes support, they refunded for the missing items but that doesn’t solve my purpose. That did not fulfil my hunger at all. What an absolute worst experience!! PLEASE DO NOT VISIT And ORDER FROM THIS LOCATION.

I visit this location about once every two months for breakfast around 6-7 AM. The food is excellent, the staff is generally quick. Its not too loud. Great place to grab a bite to eat before going to work, or if you need a breather and a bite before a long drive. Far superior to other McDonald's I've been to.

Day 2

Northwest side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northwest side side of town. Start the day off with Marais du Nord (Les), then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Stoneham Golf Club. All together, your day would be filled with about 4 hours of non-stop fun.

With 8 kilometers of well-marked hiking trails that cater to all levels, visitors can immerse themselves in the stunning landscapes overlooking Lac Saint-Charles and Riviere des Hurons.
For $6, I had the best afternoon hiking here. It is absolutely beautiful. The trails are easy to follow and are well marked. There are lots of great Lookout spots to take photos.

This is a marsh with many walking trails that are accessible all year. It is dog friendly. It has picnic tables. The restrooms are accessible on open hours. There is a wheelchair that can be loaned. Canoes and kayaks can be rented. The lake is home to many bird species. There are many signs explaining the fauna and wildlife.

Beautiful place for a walk all seasons. Mostly flat easy trails with many beautiful wooden bridges. Many animal tracks and birds to observe along the way. Very family friendly. Dogs are allowed on leash. Small entrance fee.

We enjoyed walking this park, despite the rainy day. The trails were clearly marked and there were lots of boardwalk observation areas. A special thanks to the staff at the visitor center for the helpful recommendations.
Raelynn R — Google review
Great place to go for a walk with my old dog and small child. There are many options of trails from wide and flat to something a little more full of roots and incline and benches a little everywhere along with a lot of look out points. I love the wooden bridges that are found throughout and the wildlife you can spot at any time of year. There is enough to keep you occupied for the day or just to get a quick walk in somewhere that is not the suburbs. With an annual pass it's totally worth it. Around Christmas they even have a lot of decorations in the trees (my kids called it the Magical forest).

During my recent trip to Quebec, I discovered the Stoneham Golf Club, just a quick 20-minute Uber ride from where I was staying. Booking a solo tee time on a Saturday morning was seamless thanks to Helen's warm assistance. The experience turned out to be fantastic as I was paired with two friendly locals who made the day even more enjoyable. The course itself is beautifully maintained, featuring smooth greens and stunning scenery that truly enhances the golfing experience.

Greens ran really smooth. Nice scenery also. Clubhouse people are friendly also. Thank you for letting me enjoy golf for the day while on vacation. I'll be back!

La Souche - Microbrasserie & Restaurant is a popular spot with a mix of reviews. While some visitors were disappointed by the spotty service and kitchen mistakes, others raved about the outstanding ambiance and delicious food, particularly the unique pizzas and impressive poutine. The variety of available beers was also a pleasant surprise for many. However, it's worth noting that there are limited vegan options on the menu.
Very good atmosphere. The burgers were good with a pretty large portion of fries. Amazing and friendly staff!

I was pretty excited to go here. Food and beer was pretty good. Service was pretty spotty. More than half the table didn't get any food. "Mistake in the kitchen". But it was a struggle to even get a hold of a server. Came out 45 minutes after other food. Usually something is free, or at least discounted when the service/kitchen just screws up and server never comes by to check. Almost would want to go again. To see if they can have some redemption, but hard to get over, even the lack of apologies. Edited: went back again. Had a better time and better service the second time. It is a nice place food is good. Beer is great.

Amazing hangout place with friends or family. We visited this restaurant for dinner during our trip to Quebec and Tadoussac. They have their own brewery and quite a variety of beers. Superb ambience and great service, though the place was crowded and busy. All the dishes we ordered were really good. Take a look at the menu shared in this review. Overall an excellent experience!!!

WOW! What a find! I drove over from a three night stay in Montreal for two nights at an AirBnB off the beaten path and wasn’t sure what I would find for good eats. Well a google maps search and La Souche came up as the # 1 place for restaurants. I made the 22 minute drive and am so happy I did. Being from the states and in the heart of Quebecois and not speaking french I was not sure. Well right from the start with the Hostess seating me to my awesome server Jeremy (hope I’m spelling that right) all that apprehension went away. I asked for a menu in English and Jeremy immediately started speaking English! The beers are amazing and the cheeseburger with fries were so I damn good! I am already thinking I’ll be going back tomorrow 04 Jul 25. This is one of those must go places for sure!!

Initially wasn't feeling up for the drive from Lac Beauport even though it wasn't far at all - but I'm really happy we went! Visiting from New Brunswick and we were looking for somewhere we could bring our dog as well. Dogs are allowed on the terrace/patio area with no problem and they even brought a dog bowl with water for him! I'm terrible at French but my wife can get by, it was no problem at all, everyone was able to communicate in English (seriously Quebec does bilingual right, other provinces should learn but I digress). Staff was wonderful and super friendly. Food was great! I saw another review saying the burgers don't come with fries - that's no longer the case. The burgers do come with fries although you probably won't be able to finish them as the burgers are large and absolutely delicious. Perfect buns! The right density to absorb the juices of the burger without falling apart but not too dense that you can't get a good bite. And the outer crust has the perfect crisp to it. Meat was perfectly cooked and juicy as well. I had the blue cheese burger and my wife had the cheese burger. Both were super satisfying and honestly the perfectly constructed burgers. Give this place a shot, you won't regret it!

If you find yourself in Stoneham, make sure to stop by Pizzeria Stoneham for a delightful dining experience. This charming pizza spot is perfect for those seeking a quick takeout option after a long day. The menu features an array of delicious pizzas, including unique toppings like smoked meat and jalapeno peppers that pack a spicy punch. Many visitors rave about the New York-style thin crust, which is both crispy and flavorful—truly one of the best in Quebec!
best pizza in stoneham!!! best service. family owned 🫶🏻
Shikha A — Google review
We ordered a 16-inch pizza, half and half . While the flavours sounded great, the overall experience was disappointing. First, we were charged the price of the expensive one, which was the more expensive of the two halves. Not really a big deal. We had mentioned to the hostess that the pizza was for two people, not realizing how thick the crust would be—it ended up being over 2 inches thick.😕 That might have been on us for not checking reviews. Also we did specifically ask for it to be made crispy, and unfortunately, it was still undercooked in the center.(maybe) 🤔 The crust was soggy and doughy, with the bottom soaking through the cardboard. so when we tried to pull slices apart, the dough separated from the toppings, making it hard to eat.😞 To make things worse, they forgot to cut the pizza, 🙁Unfortunately, this wasn’t the experience we were hoping for. Hopefully the restaurant can take this feedback to improve on consistency and attention to detail.

This pizza was horrible and terribly over priced ! We bought three 12 inch pizzas, medium, and it was 70$....the crust was almost like card board. Definitely cannot understand all the great reviews. Maybe it was a bad day ? It also took very long for the prep. Over an hour. I would not buy this pizza again.
