What can I not say about The Tug? we had read about this place before we came and were very excited to try it out! From the food to the views. It sounded like this was going to be a great spot and it did NOT disappoint.
it is a little more expensive than other things in Swakopmund but it is worth the splurge. The oysters were phenomenal, as almost all are in this area. The seafood was made to perfection, and dessert? Heavily!
Our waiter Prince was also extremely accommodating and when we asked him for menu recommendations, he spoke with much certainty which we liked! He did not disappoint on his suggestions. Overall definitely recommend. Oh and Camembert cheese starter? Some of the best Camembert I’ve ever had.

We had a wonderful diner with a sunset view. I had one of the best grilled sole fish in my life and my husband the catch of the day the Kabeljou, that was perfectly cooked. Our waitress Sonia was lovely, professional and charming.
We can only recommend this unique restaurant in an old tug boat. The atmosphere is very lively and great to gather with friends.
The best meal we had in Namibia! We ordered the monkfish and the kabeljou — both were absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. The portions are quite generous, so keep that in mind — we wanted to try dessert but were just too full! On top of that, our waiter was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. Highly recommended!
The Tug is located on the ocean, next to the Swakopmund jetty, so it’s the best place in town for seafood, and it is wonderful. The atmosphere is vibrant but not too noisy, the wine list is great and the service is professional but friendly. Stanley was a great waiter, very knowledgeable and very good in understanding what we want. All in all, a great dining experience in Swakopmund.
After several nights of Camping, we were so happy to have a great meal. The Tug was fantastic, we both ordered the local fish and it was delicious. And our waiter, Sonia was wonderful. If you are in need of a great, fresh meal, couldn't recommend the Tug enough.
They even offer a shuttle back to your hotel. And when my husband left his backpack they turned around and went back for it. Truly door to door service.
Great seafood dinner with nice views. The fish, sides and sauces were all of excellent quality. Super friendly service and reasonably prices. The transfer back to the hotel worked well too.

amazing service!!!! went here with our tour group for our first night here in swakopmund. we had neville as our server and wow! he was amazing. handled a group of 20 people with such ease and class. super friendly and was always ready to help us when needed.

We had dinner last night at Jetty 1905 in Swakopmund and were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. Our waiter Marshall was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm—he made us feel right at home. Levi, the manager, ensured everything ran smoothly and even helped us arrange a taxi at the end of the evening, walking us all the way to the car door. That level of care and hospitality is rare and deeply appreciated.
The food was fantastic—every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. The wine recommendation was spot-on. The atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed, with stunning views that added to the evening.
Jetty 1905 is a true gem in Swakopmund. We’ll definitely be back - must go if in the area.
I had such a beautiful experience here — truly a 5 out of 5 for me! The service, food, and atmosphere were absolutely stellar. I was honestly in awe of how beautiful the place is; it’s one of those spots that immediately puts you in a good mood. The staff were so kind and accommodating — we didn’t have a reservation but got lucky, and they seated us right away with the warmest smiles. Still, I’d recommend making a booking, just in case.

A unique restaurant to experience at the end of a pier in Swakopmund, Namibia. At your table, you are surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and, if timed right, a beautiful sunset. The staff were welcoming and the service was professional throughout our experience. We enjoyed a deliciously prepared seafood platter and sole with buttery green beans. I recommend this spot for your next visit.

After a long drive from Gobabis to Swakopmund, the weather was rainy and cozy. (Not conducive for setting up camp)
We walked to the Jetty 1905 restaurant which is a classy restaurant, off shore and on the Jetty. My wife and I had the most amazing meal being served by a professional and friendly waiter Levi.
A fantastic way to wind down after a scenic drive through Namibia.
Definitely recommend!
The food is definitely worth the many recommendations but you have to make a reservation. For atmosphere I can say that it's a little cold in there so definitely pack a light jacket. When it's fully booked it's kind of loud and you only have 1h 45mins time to spend there. Service was good.

The value proposition in the actual meal were not there.If I want to spend N$400 on a portion of fish I do expect it to be the finest.Firstly the Kabeljou were not available so I settled for Kingklip.the dish were really average with prawns a bit dry .Jetty 1905 you need to up your game.the waitron seemed rushed and inattentive disinterest. I were also asked to pay the gratuity in cash by the cashier,waitron not to be seen anywhere.so go here for sundowners and or oysters and you'd be fine.But dont think that paying more means you getting a better product.
Atmosphere is great very relaxing though the music only came on as we finished our meal.as if to say ok its home time now.🤣

Just an all around great pub! I’m a solo traveler so this was a great place to dine. I ended up eating dinner here three nights in a row. Yes I could have gone elsewhere but the food here is reasonably priced, an extensive selection, very fresh and a friendly staff and conveniently located.

We had a great experience at Kücki’s Pub. The garlic butter steak was absolutely delicious – cooked perfectly and full of flavor. We also tried the mixed plate with hake and fried calamari, which was nicely done and satisfying. The tomato and basil soup was a comforting starter, light yet flavorful. Overall, the food was well-prepared and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Definitely a place worth visiting!
Went here twice! Had their special garlicky beef steak on one night & the oryx steak the next night! Reasonable prices, cozy vibe & a director who greets you & makes sure you’re taken care of as soon as you enter! The waiter guy was a pretty cool dude too! Thanks guys
Nothing fancy, Pub grub in a basic pub environment. Very basic dining amenities, worn out wooden chairs and tables.
Oysters were good but very small, and the steak was large but chewy.
Stopped in for a chilled evening and had two Hunter’s Gold ciders and the crumbed calamari – simple but so good!
The calamari was crispy on the outside, tender inside, and came with a tasty dip. The portion was just right for a light bite.
Hunter’s was ice cold – exactly what we needed after a hot day on the road.
Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and good vibes all around. Definitely the kind of place where you feel at home fast.
Would absolutely come back for a full dinner next time!

Very tasty and nice restaurant in Swakopmund!
We enjoyed the food and variety in options on the menu, that we even decided to come for dinner twice! The dishes are not too oily but very well balanced. Portions are a bit large compared to European standards but quite common for Namibia.
The sushi was really fresh and great flavor. The pasta and fish curry were very full of flavor and tasted absolutely delicious.
Also the wines and sparkling wines were great. Only the chocolate mouse, could be improved as the chocolate flavor was not very pure or strong, it just missed that feeling you get from eating good chocolate.

We very very pleasantly surprised by the quality of food here. Oysters were the best I’ve had on a 3 week trip around Southern Africa. Grilled fish was fresh and full of flavour. Seafood curry was an excellent option with a more local twist. Great prices for the quality you get.
The oysters here are incredibly plump and delicious, and the abalone risotto is absolutely amazing, the sauce is so rich and flavorful! It was so good that I ended up coming back every night during my two days in Swakopmund. Can’t wait for the next opportunity to visit Namibia and eat here again!
My husband and I came in for a quick dinner. Upon entering the building, the first thing we noticed was the very pleasant and clean interior. The atmosphere is calm and the staff is very pleasant and polite.
We were a bit upset about the food, my husband is a chef and we were expecting high hopes for such pleasant atmosphere upon entering. I got the pumpkin pasta and my husband ordered the salmon linguine. Both dishes were lacking salt, and some of the flavors in the dishes were interesting. As a garnish in the salmon linguine there were dried beets? Unusual. And there were dried beets in my pumpkin pasta as well (which worked well with the flavors so no problem) I’m not sure if the kitchen just uses the same garnishes on a lot of their dishes and that’s why two vastly different plates had the same garnishes? Not sure.
Besides that we had a pleasant experience!
this place was so great, we came back twice! the servers were wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious. we especially loved the swakopmunders curry -- so flavorful and the fish was excellently cooked! and sitting outside on the water was beautiful. would highly recommend!

Star off for service. We ordered sparking water, they brought still and when we realized it they didn’t offer to replace it. Also, no one came to ask if we wanted desert once we had finished our meal - it was like the staff lost interest in us for some reason.

Gorgeous interior, not as fancy feeling as I thought which I liked, as I often find places like these a little uptight. Sat outside and watched the sunset. Had a Hawaiian Burger which I always love and is hard to find in the part of the world in my experience- that was a huge plus. But some of the pricing and the menu selection brought this down to a 4 for me. Still great place though.
Located next to Strand hotel. Outdoor and indoor seating and very spacious. We had a few pasta dishes and all were fresh but overcooked. They had nice flavors. Their pizza margherita was very soft reasonable as a family style appetizer. The wines were good. Service was good. I would recommend and ask for pasta to be Al Dente. My experience is all the places over cooked the pastas so may be a local way of cooking.
We were having dinner at the restaurant and we got a table very last minute which was great. Unfortunately the cesar salat did not taste fresh and the „croutons“ were dry, like old bread… the T-Bonesteak was excellent and we enjoyed the fungo linguine.

The breakfast buffet at Farmhouse Deli is amazing. The freshest and best quality salmon I have eaten in a long time. Very thoughtful staff with amazing voices which resonated in song amazingly. Thank you to all for making my day a great experience!
We had incredible good freshly home made pasta and a fish that was also very delicious. Lydia our servant was super friendly and also the rest of the team was super helpful giving us blankets and fulfilling all our wishes. The wait for the food wasn’t too long and the fresh oysters were a perfect starter. Can recommend this place a lot and also the hotel looked beautiful with an amazing view on the ocean.
Certainly the best place along this little pier for good food and great service. It felt way fancier than the name suggests. That's not a Deli place!! Staff was super nice and food amazingly good. A must do.
Ambience is beautiful, beautiful inside and outside, it offers a great outdoor area with sea views. I imagine best time to eat there would be sunset time. Service is also great. Only down was the food. I've enjoyed all the restaurants I've been in Namibia so far, this was just ok. Too many a la "MasterChef" inventions. Starter oryx pastrami came on a salad that was just too many things going on (peppers, blue cheese, popcorn with caramel, lettuce, tomatoes on a strawberry jam, weird combination), Kabeljou came with lots of fishbone but veggies and the sauce were delicious and oryx fillet was good with Spätzle (big portion) and the sauce for the meat had a sweet flavor that made the spatzle not very tasty. Ambience is the plus, dessert looked appetizing but we didn't try as we were full. Overall beautiful place for the ambience and outdoor area.

Lovely place, and supremely tempting, with an wide variety of bakery items and drinks. Located right on the pier that goes out to the lookout point on the sea, gorgeous views on both sides. Inviting menu and friendly staff. Very attractive decor and furniture, not to mention, offers the opportunity to dine al fresco by the sea or indoors with views of the sea.
Definitely a must visit. Tried just the basic bakery items for now, will be back to try more.

A breathtaking view with a refreshing wind passing through the shop ideal for a lunchtime retreat. I loved the place a lot but did not like the doghnut I ordered, it was a blueberry one. We also ordered ice coffee which was nicely done!
My friend tried the cheesecake, which was a much better option than the doghnut.
The donut bar was exceptional; the donuts were out of this world, and the cheesecake was mouthwatering. The service was impeccable. I only wish we could have stayed longer, but we had to grab takeaways as we were heading back to the airport.

The baked goods here are excellent - really top quality cakes and donuts. But the experience of eating here was disappointing.
The woman working the till (possibly the owner) seemed completely flustered and overwhelmed, which made us feel unwelcome.
The space is tiny, so you’re constantly in other customers’ way.
The service system doesn’t work well either. You have to get your food first, then your tea, then go back for milk - it’s awkward when there are several people trying to order at once. They need to figure out a better way to handle multiple customers.
For the prices they charge, you’d expect better service and a more comfortable experience. The bakes are worth it, but the overall experience isn’t great.
Would I go back? Maybe for takeaway only.
Extremely disappointed. Visiting from Ireland, even for swakop their prices are extreme. Manager was friendly enough but specifically asked if the cake on show was a german cheesecake.. He said yes a few times... Being german, I can't say I have ever had a sponge cake being sold as german cheesecake. Donuts had by the rest of the family were very dry. Maybe a bad day, we all have them.
When in Swakopmund, the Doughnut Bar is a must visit. Lovely Doughnuts!

This has been our favourite place to go with kids! The staff is so friendly. The play area staff are the absolute best. They play with kids and absolutely go out of their way to keep kids busy for adults to have a meal.
This place have the most amazing waitresses they attended to our every need plus ➕️ the food was awesome, n the cocktails were mouthwatering 🤤 😀 😄 😍 nicely, clean restrooms 🚻 😀
I really enjoyed it because it’s very kid-friendly. The indoor playground is beautiful and suitable for children of all ages, with minders available to watch over them. However, on two separate visits the food was served cold — this definitely needs improvement, as food is best enjoyed warm or hot.
I always enjoy Spur no matter where! Service was good, drinks were cold and food was proper Spur standard. Still a very good restaurant to visit and can be recommended for a good experience. I also chose to first have a quiet drink and not rush the experience.
This spur has the most insane kiddies area. Our waiter, Rae-Luck was amazing! so patient with my two small boys. He was great! Quick service and very helpful. Highly recommend if you need a break, food was good. Will be back when mom-hood gets a bit much and I need to chill.
I walked in and sat for over 10 minutes with no one attending to me.
The waiters didn't care what I was doing there. I didn't have a drink or food in front of me, but no one approached to enquire anything.
It felt like sitting on a bench at a public park minding my business. My be people came to hang out there.

Booked telephonically yesterday and came in this morning to make sure my booking was correct, found out we weren’t booked at all and booking wasn’t even written in the book. We then personally made the booking this morning showing them the specific booth we want as we wanted to watch the rugby at 17:00. When we got there this afternoon lo and behold someone was sitting in our booth, employees are baffled and no one is taking accountability(mind you restaurant is packed). After 10 minutes manager comes and suggests that we will have wait and settle for a different table.
Safe to say our night was ruined.

Platz Am Meer is an absolutely stunning shopping centre with the most beautiful ocean views! A great variety of shops including Dis-Chem, Checkers, Edgars, Clicks and many more, so you can find almost everything you need in one place. There’s also a nice mix of fast food outlets and lovely sit-down restaurants, perfect for enjoying a meal while overlooking the ocean. Truly a must-visit when in Swakopmund!
Platz Am Meer is a modern, clean and well-maintained shopping center with a variety of stores and restaurants. It has a nice play area for kids outside and offers some ocean views as well. However, it is located quite far from the tourist center of Swakopmund. This makes it a very convenient option for locals to do their everyday shopping, rather than for tourists who are looking for unique experiences and souvenirs. Overall, Platz Am Meer is a decent shopping center and a practical place for daily essentials, but it is not a must-visit for tourists.
Best Mall ever in the coastal region of Namibia 🇳🇦
I took one star off because the wifi doesn't work, kept getting network security issues. Other than that nice mall, great mix of stores and places to eat.
I absolutely love this little mall. All of the necessary stores are there, like Checkers, Clicks, Truworths and cellphone shops. We ended our shopping day at Mugg & Bean which was absolutely fantastic. The views from the restaurant are beautiful. Most stores accept South African Rands however they will give change in Namibian dollars.

Kristall Galerie in Swakopmund, Namibia is a must-visit attraction for anyone interested in crystals and gemstones. The gallery features an impressive collection of crystals and gemstones from around the world, including a massive 220,000-pound quartz cluster that took five years to excavate. Visitors can explore a crystal cave, browse through a gem shop offering jewelry and art pieces, or simply wander through the exhibits.

In a dainty city, lays a treasure titled Kristall Galerie. I’ve been fantasising of visiting this place for eons.
The Genesis of the exhibition is a short walking path with tiny stones coated in several colours. Next, enter the crystal cave which is bedazzled and decorated with physically attractive crystals, with a claustrophobia inducing pathway as narrow as the path to salvation. Crystal cave was the highlight of my exploration. I would re-visit this place for the sole reason of re-visiting the cave. After, enter the main gallery, with the largest crystal quartz on display. Next, you can branch the jewellery store and head to upstairs to admire more crystals in glass cases. In the jewellery on display, the gems are cut to precision. The display cases posses several gems with informative boards. From one of the display boards, I learnt amethyst is an anti-drunkenness gem. The crystals are gorgeous and colourful, for example the bright yellow sulfur, purple amethyst and a stone (*i cannot recall its name), however it is coated in several colours in an alluring pattern. Every gem is unique and led me to reflect on how the LAMB carefully curated and designed all of them. If you’re intrigued by crystals and seeking a calming, plus educational activity, I recommend the experience. It was a delightful and peaceful experience. I may have left without any crystals, however I left with a non-physical treasure of a memory.

We drove past this building and it looked interesting.They should have better signs outside to welcome the public.Definitely a must to do in Swakopmund.After the tour we bought some very nice souvenirs for the family and I bought myself a beautiful set of mineral bookends
Pretty cool. Gorgeous stones on display, as well as the largest clear quartz in the world.
Visited for the second time since 2017 and I was still impressed. This is a really great gallery for showcasing the mineral well if Namibia from the perspective of quality mineral crystals.

The staff are very friendly and helpful.
This is a shop masquerading as a some kind of museum. The intention is to bring in visitors and hope that they buy expensive jewellery. The information displays are occasionally interesting, but there aren't many of them and it is clearly not the purpose of the place. There are rules about not taking photos of the jewellery, but some of the exhibits are in the same cabinets. Guards and shop assistants telling you not to take photos make the place feel awkward and oppressive. Fine to be a shop selling what are genuinely lovely pieces, but don't pretend it is something else.
Visit to this exceptional Gallery showcasing the gems and minerals of this part of the world - South West Africa in Swakopmund was amazing though I forgot to obey the rule of not taking photos and was gently reminded by the security peeps!! Hush hush..as a former Science teacher I found my knowledge expanding and we went as a team with one purchasing a piece of jewellery! Staff in the shop kindly identified my bracelet as Red Tigers Eye and my labrodite ring was admired!! I bought a poster to identify the gems and its a handy tool for me for identification of my collection over the years!! My colleague at Classic City High School in Athens, Ga (2004-7) would go with his grandson to dig out amber, quartz, amethyst which he gifted me and I have to the day in my collection in my EYE !! In deep gratitude to the one who initiated this gallery and I was humbled to visit during my stay in Swakop..unforgettable eye candy!!
For someone that loves precious stones and wants to learn about them, and perhaps purchase some stones, Kristall Galerie is the perfect destination. The choice is ample, and the exhibits are impressive. They’ve even got a piece of meteorite on display.

We wanted to try out the beach front restaurants in Swakopmund and little did we know that reservation was key, particularly, the Strand Hotel restaurants, which were fully-booked except for the Brewer and Butcher Restaurant. We had wished on getting a sea-view table but couldn't get one due to prior reservations other people had made. Therefore, it is recommended that you book a table in advance.
We thoroughly enjoyed the food and ambiance. Due to cold weather, gas heaters were setup which made the place extra warm and cozy. I had a vegetarian option and loved it.

Located in Strand hotel. Had a very nice vibe and craft beer on draft was fresh. I had the tasting menu all four beers. We did not order food. The vibe was excellent. The service was very good at the bar. Highly recommend
For great meat and wonderful wine selection you must try B&B in Swakopmund. The place is beautifully decorated, with a large closed porch overlooking the sea The food is great and our waiter, Rodnei, was very professional. We had a great evening. Highly recommended.
My colleague and I enjoyed an early dinner here. The location on the promenade is very central and makes sense for tourists. The decor treads the line between traditional and modern, with brewing paraphernalia visible in the dining room.
The service was courteous and knowledgeable. I’d recommend booking if you’re going at a busy time.
My colleague lamb shank was sublime, very juicy and tender with an excellent gravy.
My T-bone was a little too rare and lacked any serious or interesting tasting notes, this could certainly be improved.

This turned out to be a pretty solid experience overall. I didn’t expect to find a proper oxtail dish by the beach, but they delivered — it was rich, tender, and surprisingly well-executed for a spot that feels more like a casual coastal hangout than a fine dining venue.
They also serve fresh, hot desserts straight from the kitchen — the kind that arrive warm and feel more like a second course than an afterthought. I can’t remember the name of the one I had, but it came with a really good sweet warm sauce — definitely worth asking the staff for a recommendation on that.
The restaurant is beachfront with a spacious outdoor seating area, which I much preferred, and it doesn't feel on the walking side. However open and breezy, with a relaxed vibe and smoking area. The indoor space felt a lot more crowded and noisy, and lacked the same level of comfort or privacy — so if you're after a quieter meal, sit outside if you can.
One thing to flag: the service can be a bit slow, especially during busy hours. Not sure if that’s a regular thing or just bad timing on my visit, but it’s something to be aware of.
All in all, good food, great location, and worth a visit — just don’t expect things to move fast when it’s packed.
If you are in Swakopmund do yourself a favor and visit this lovely situated restaurant. Atmosphere great....food very delicious and service amazing. Oysters and beer on tap was the highlight for me. Their burgers are to die for! And the view with dolphins swimming in the bay.
Food was ok but nothing incredible. The place is nicely decorated. Good selection of beers (served very cold which is good in Namibia where they have the bad German-traditional style of drinking beer quite warm…).

Swakopmund Mole, the main beach in Swakopmund, may not be ideal for sunbathing or swimming due to its small size and chilly waters. However, it offers a picturesque setting for leisurely activities such as enjoying ice cream on colorful benches overlooking the beach, watching children and dogs play, and dining at some of the best restaurants with ocean views. Despite unpredictable weather conditions, visitors appreciate the clean surroundings and ample parking.

When I visited the Swakopmund Mole, the weather wasn't great, and I couldn't spend as much time as I would have liked. However, I'm glad I made the effort to visit. The area was clean with plenty of parking close by. There were also a few restaurants nearby, including a craft brewery, which was great. The main attraction of the mole is the views. It's a great place to get photos of the ocean, beach and town of Swakopmund. Overall, I had a good time and would definitely recommend it to others. It's a great place to go for a walk, take some photos and enjoy the views; weather permitting.

It was our school kid's first time in a museum. They could not understand how dead animals still looked like they were still alive. One of our teachers, Mr Madhera took time to explain about taxidermy. This is a great place for school Kids as they get to see and learn a lot.
Without a doubt, the best museum in Namibia. The Swakopmund Museum is a true hidden gem that every visitor should see. It covers an incredible variety: an antique pharmacy, traditional kitchens and dining rooms, wildlife, geology, German maritime and war history, old printing techniques, and moving exhibits about Namibian culture and native peoples.

Lighthouse Restaurant Swakopmund offers a stunning location and great food, making it the perfect spot for an evening out. The menu features a variety of options to choose from, including pizza and burgers. The atmosphere is amazing with both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy views of the beach and ocean during the daytime. While some patrons found the portions to be small and experienced minor issues with their orders, many praised the excellent service provided by friendly staff.
Good, well rounded restaurant with nice menu of american style bar food. Burgers, nachos, tapas, pizzas etc. Has a lovely interior as well as a nice patio to sit outside at and watch the sunset. Also quite affordable compared to some of the other restaurants on the beach. Recommend the kingclip.

Great Food and Friendly Service
We recently visited this restaurant as a large group and had a wonderful dining experience. Although the wait for our food was slightly longer than expected, it was understandable given our group size. When the food arrived, it was served around the same time, ensuring everyone could enjoy their meal together. The quality of the food was excellent, and both the adults and children were highly satisfied.
The service was friendly, polite, and accommodating. The staff promptly responded to our requests, including adjusting the music volume and closing windows when it got colder, all with a great attitude. Overall, we had an enjoyable meal in a welcoming atmosphere. We appreciate the attentive service and would definitely recommend this restaurant for both small and large gatherings.
Lighthouse was a pleasant surprise. It’s beachfront, but what makes it stand out is how it's slightly hidden on the corner under trees and greenery, while still giving a great view. That bit of separation gives it more privacy and a calmer vibe compared to the other restaurants along the Corniche, which are usually wide open and right in the middle of the foot traffic.
I tried their grilled calamari “Lighthouse Dish” and it was genuinely excellent. Probably one of the best I’ve had anywhere. Nicely charred, tender, and seasoned just right, for the first time I had a grilled calamari which is not chewy and sticky. It didn’t feel overdone or gimmicky, just solid cooking that lets the seafood speak for itself.
Service was decent and professional, and the menu leans seafood-heavy, and from what I saw, the other dishes looked well-prepared too.
That said, prices are a bit on the higher side. Not outrageous, but you’ll definitely notice it, especially if you’re used to more casual spots. However, I noticed this all across Nam good restaurants, but the food quality and the setting justifies it — but it’s something to keep in mind.
I’d differently go back if I'm back in the city.
The food was great and the service was also really good. The only problem was the food took a bit long to arrive, but it’s ok as the vibe was great.
The place is nice and has friendly staff. The food is coming in massive portions, way beyond whAt could be considered a regular meal. Beware that it will likely be "heavy" food. Even the fish that was the healthiest on the menu was huge. A couple of our group took the Green Lasagna which looked delicious but came with about half a pound of melted cheese on top. We had to scoop it out to avoid a heart attack later in the day ;-). But if you are into it, I can see the attraction.

I was looking for a light dinner, a decent beer and a pleasant rustic atmosphere. The Old Sailor met all these. Good service accompanied Andy’s Bratwurst and the draught Hansa. A real log fire 🔥 made for a cosy early evening dinner. The toilets were clean and the environment conducive to unwinding at the end of a busy day.
I have never been treated with such unnecessary disrespect at a restaurant. My friends and I came in for drinks and dinner, only to be singled out and humiliated.
Before I even entered, the owner stopped me in the parking lot and told me to “go wash my hands” at the shop across the road — simply because I had eaten a small snack outside. Once inside, he again sent a waiter to tell me the same thing. As if that wasn’t enough, I was handed a mop and told to clean a supposed “mess” in the bathroom that I hadn’t made. Out of sheer dignity, I mopped the entire bathroom just to avoid escalating hostility.
Finally, his bouncer was sent to stand over me and order me to finish my drink and leave immediately. This was not just condescending — it was degrading. I came to support this business and instead was treated like an inconvenience. I left shocked, humiliated, and with no intention of ever returning.
Really good food, staff is nice and the place is great. You might have to wait a bit for your food to be served, but it's great and fantastic. I had the prawns, maybe a bit overcooked but tasted good. The meat was served just as ordered, one wanted it well done and another mid rare, and both were spot on and very juicy.
For starters we had katfish, wow! And snails, with cheese, the taste was great but if you are really snail lover, it might be too much cheese. Taste is good, though.
Walked in to be greeted by friendly staff, order beers and it arrived ice cold in a flash! After ordering my meal the turnover time was alot faster than I expected and the steak was made precisely to my request. Serving staff are very vigualant and ensure that youre dinning experience is going well. Overall a good and warm experience from a restaurant that undoubtedly strives to succeed in a small town.
I visited this restaurant with my friend on my first night in Swakop. We just googled restaurants close to our hotel and the name came up. The service was good, as we were attended to by a lovely lady. The drinks were good too, and the starter (bbq chicken wings) was good. We ordered prawns and curry pasta. The orawns were okay. They were spicy, but the pasta was not good at all. It was bland and all I could literally taste was curry. We left very dissapointed because we came in very hungry and we couldn’t even finish the pasta. Please work on improving the taste and presentation of the food. Maybe do a stir fry version of it. Ultimately, I give this restaurant a 2/5, with all due respect.

This was a nice, well located hotel to explore the surrounding area. The hotel in Sept 2024 was starting to show its age but we enjoyed our stay nonetheless. We didn’t take any pictures of the hotel as it was pretty basic and non-descriptive but the surrounding area was captivating.

The room is huge, well maintained, full amenities, clean with two beautiful fireplaces and plenty of space in the walking closet.
Definitely a beautiful room! We booked also another room that was category Luxury and was the same beautiful despite smaller in size same clean and very comfortable. Definitely Strand Hotel is the best hotel in Swakopmund. Common area are also very pleasant, staff is attentive, nice breakfast buffet and plenty of option for dinner. Walking distance to everything. A special mention to the brewery where we tried the best “champus” beer and we took 2 liter with us!

We Americans spent 10 nights in Namibia. We had been to Southern Africa back in 1985 and 2015. We planned this trip entirely ourselves as Namibia was my 63rd sovereign country to visit. Our primary intent was to self-drive to visit Etosha National Park. Swakopmund was a most pleasant surprise for us! We spent two nights (1 & 2 July 2025) at the Strand Hotel. The front desk reception people were world-class friendly! That is NOT an exaggeration. Every time we walked in the hotel they recognised us and treated us like long-lost family. Genuine greetings EVERY TIME! They were eager to help with suggestions. Staff was wonderful helping with luggage and vehicle security. Kitchen staff for breakfast was wonderful. Housekeeping was outstanding! Our room was looking north directly over the beach where the waves were about to hit the sand. The location of the hotel is supreme. We walked to downtown shopping. We could practically roll out of bed and into the city museum. Parking was free and guarded all of the time. Restaurants are in the hotel and also a short (20 minutes) walk to other outstanding restaurants. Local artisans were literally 1 block away and there were almost endless varieties of souvenirs to haggle for. If you are visiting Swakopmund this is THE hotel to stay in. Of all of the cities I have visited in Africa I would rate Swakopmund in the top 5 for all around enjoyment. If we get back to Namibia we will definitely stay here again!

This is the best Mugg & Bean in recent times. My wife and I don't order food from any other Mugg & Bean in Namibia or South Africa anymore since we feel that the quality and portion sizes have declined considerably since we enjoyed eating there regularly 4 or 5 years ago.
But this Mugg & Bean surprised us nicely when we visited it with family this year and we have since had a few pleasant light lunches and breakfasts there.
We mainly go there for the location. Right by the ocean and in the mall so perfectly placed if you have some necessities to grab in the mall and then want a quick bite to eat before continuing with the rest of your day.
Wanted to enjoy a breakfast with a sea view. What a disappointment. Seriously not up to the M&B standard we're used to. Waited too long for everything. Even our beverages took too long. When we finally received our order everything was cold and not even as the menu described. Ordered a toasted bagel with herb cream cheese, smoked salmon, red onion & cucumber salad. Bagel was soggy, onions wasn't fresh or red and when I sent it back the manager himself brought it back and said there's nothing wrong. The place wasn't even busy. Wouldn't recommend
My recent visit to Mugg & Bean Swakopmund left a distinctly unpleasant taste in my mouth, and unfortunately, not in a good way.
This particular branch seems to be a significant letdown compared to the Mugg & Bean experiences I've had elsewhere.
The service was, to put it mildly, abysmal. We were seated promptly enough, but then seemed to become invisible to the waitstaff. It took an unreasonably long time for our order to be taken, and even longer for our drinks and food to finally appear. The staff seemed disinterested and lacked any sense of urgency or attentiveness.
When the food eventually arrived, the quality was far from satisfactory. My coffee was served lukewarm and tasted bitter, as if it had been sitting around for a while. The meal I ordered was equally disappointing – the garlic butter sauce recommended for the steak was a disaster!! Where do you find that they use the low grade oily garlic from a bottle and just add a bit of molten butter to it? This was sloppy and unappetizing. It certainly didn't reflect the standards I associate with the Mugg & Bean brand.
The ambiance of the place also left much to be desired. The restaurant felt neglected, with tables that weren't properly cleaned and a general air of shabbiness. It lacked the usual inviting and comfortable atmosphere I've come to expect from Mugg & Bean.
The wifi was poor!
To add insult to injury, the billing process was also slow and inefficient. It felt like every step of the dining experience was a struggle.
Overall, my experience at Mugg & Bean was thoroughly disappointing.
The combination of sluggish and inattentive service, subpar food quality, and a lackluster atmosphere makes it a place I would actively avoid in the future. There are certainly better options available in Windhoek for a decent meal and coffee. This branch needs a serious overhaul to bring it up to the expected Mugg & Bean standards.
Sevice is great, food is good music, albeit relaxing cafe music is a tad too loud to be suitable for a meeting or that requires you to have a low volume conversation.
Wow... and then they complain about business... breakfast was just as bad. No garnish or presentation. Sandwich had little cheese .dry no butter on bread . No seasoning. burnt on edges and when mentioned. The server didn't understand...

Food was a bit slow but Grace is a wonderful server, it's a different vibe than what I'm used to... Lots of kids, feet in sand... Fried calamari is really good, rice seems from a box, oysters were a bit small but the taste was there.
The bar is in a perfect location, but the useless wooden walkway should be removed as it spoils the view of the ocean and serves no purpose i could see.
The food is okay.. portions small and rather pricey, but i guess it's aimed at the tourists..
I visited once and found it too expensive for what you get, so I won't return. The calamari was soggy and overpriced and the mussels small.
Oh yes and like everything else in Swakopmund it only opens at 3pm
Great food, friendly staff and unbeatable view while eating. The prices are very reasonable and the have a good selection of dishes. There is also a dedicate play area with a jumping castle for smaller kids. The sunsets from here are also incredible and make for great photo opportunities while dining with your feet in the sand.

Tiger Reef Campsite in Swakopmund, Namibia is a well-sheltered camping site located by the sea. The campsite offers large showers and free WiFi, but the downside is that men and women share one toilet. Despite shared facilities, it's reasonably priced and conveniently close to the city center and a nearby bar. The stands are shielded from the wind, making it an ideal spot for those looking to escape windy conditions.
We stayed at Tiger Reef Campsite for 2 nights. Great location, walking distance from the beach and restaurants. The bathrooms were top notch, very clean and there were enough toilets & showers. There was warm water and shower pressure was amazing! Would definitely recommend!

Perfect placement just off the beach, the breaking waves sothed us right through the night. Private, clean campsites that are cleaned daily, a pleasure to camp here on our tour through Namibia.
We only stayed 1 night, but the camping was very nice to be. Toilets and showers are VERY clean, perfect water pressure and temperature is yours to arrange. The lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful with booking some daytrips. I would recommend this place if you stay 1-2 nights in Swakopmund!
Campsites are very small. No privacy. Neighbours too close. Friendly cleaning staff although they were most of the time on their cell phones. Same toilets for both males and females horrible.
We were a bit disappointed as the campsite for the car had not a single light bulb, only one electric plug, no water onsite : you have to go to the main public area to wash your dishes. There is a kind of place to cook, but no Brai like in the other campsites. The shower and toilets are clean, but could as well get a bit more light in the sink area.
The location is fine as it's in front of the beach and walking distance from downtown. Probably ok if you olan to eat in restaurants all the time.
We shortened our stay and moved to another place for the second night in Swapkomund.
Beautiful setting and sleeping next to the ocean was delightful, very cold at this time of year, but that was to be expected. The staff were all super polite and kind. Maintenance was going on in the centre space and the barbed wire fence did take away from our view of the ocean.

I was shocked! The terrariums are way too small and only filled with sand and stones. And no! That’s not what the desert looks like! Snakes need fresh air or at least a small plant for oxygen. They can’t hide which is something snakes need to do to feel safe. I’m not a snake expert but I’m sure putting 4 pythons each of 3-4 meters length in a terrarium of 4,5 square meters is definitely too crowded! All of the snakes are hitting their heads at the glass trying to get out! This is animal cruelty! My advice: upgrade this place ASAP! But mostly: get species that are about to extinct and help them to propagate. Once they do, set them free. That’s the only reason why humans should capture wild animals. Also hang up information sheets about the drastic extinction to make sure people learn something when they leave. If you visit this snake park now, especially children will have an understanding of wild animals that is completely wrong!
This place is really worth a visit, they rehouse 'nuicance' snakes and are sympathetic to their perception to locals and people in general. Excellent selection of stunning snakes form the south. Truly brilliant.
The place is very nice, has a very nice variety of snakes and some reptiles. The owner was super friendly and gave us alot of useful information. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
My kids and I love going to this snake park. There are so many species and they are well taken care of. The staff as fantastic too.

The snake park is a must see to learn more about the reptiles in Namibia. The main attraction is the large variety of venomous snakes including different cobras, black mamba, vipers and pythons. Not for the faint-hearted, however very educational and garners better understanding and respect for these reptiles.

Lovely restaurant / wine bar in Swakop. Funky vibey interior. We went for snack and had « Namibian sushi » - like a cross between beef tartare and carpaccio, mixed with herbs. It was amazing. Proper drinks were served properly! I had a « Grown up Pudding » - it was divine! Ginger crunch with rum soaked (and I mean soaked) raisins, with vanilla ice cream and chocolate mousse. I was in heaven. Great selection of sensibly priced SA wines. Friendly team. Well worth a visit.

Cute little restaurant with delicious food and good drinks from the own bar right at the corner of a nice arcade street. Service is very attentive and also kid friendly. While all good was delicious, I would especially recommend the beef tartar and the beef fillet. Even the fries are good ( which is not that easy in Namibia)

A buffet is normally not great. This one is terrible. Someone tolf the chef that garlic works on everything. They even serve barbecue lamb tjops with a garlic sauce. The pork spare ribs was also covered in garlic. If you do not like garlic you might want to skip this place.

We visited Old Steamer Restaurant while on a road trip through Namibia, and staying over in Swakopmund. It is situated on the premises of Alte Brücke Resort, where we camped for 2 evenings. The dinner consists of an all you can eat buffet, while drinks are extra. The decor is very authentic, and the food of very good quality. We had a very good time, staff was also very friendly.

Village Cafe is one of my favorite spots in Swakopmund. From my first visit more than 15 years not a lot has changed. Every time I go there the food is great and the staff is super friendly.

Hotel Prinzessin Rupprecht B&B in Swakopmund, Namibia, is a unique establishment housed in a former German Colonial hospital. The building has been repurposed into a hotel and a nursing home. With rustic rooms available for as low as $29, it offers great value for money. The staff is known for their friendliness and helpfulness, and the garden shared with the nursing home adds to the charm of the place.
I recently had the pleasure of re-discovering this complex which on reflection has played a major role within our family over the last 60+ years.
My older sister and myself were born at the Prinzessin Rupprecht Heim maternity ward.
Many family friends have been visited at the Old Age facility over the years. My last memory of our father is right here, where he spent his last few weeks on this earth. His funeral reception was held in dignity in the dining room of the hotel.
More recently I was exploring an option for accommodation for our mom.
The staff here were awesome in their approach to all enquiries.
Access was granted to the available unit for measuring up, the communications were faultless, with prompt answers supplied to all questions, there was only support, helpfulness, openness & grace.
I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the staff who assisted us with our requests.
We were also provided access to the room where babies were delivered in the sixties. Without any expectations or recognition and being a rather cynical creature, I actually felt something in that room which I can only describe as envelopment / safety / comfort.
The entire complex makes for a very pleasant environment. The hotel and reception areas are welcoming and augment the mix of accommodation on offer.
The planted courtyard with all it’s nooks and crannies, birdlife, water features, pathways to explore and the dining room for residents looks homely and intimate.
The beach and shops are close by which adds to the charm as a temporary or permanent home.
It's a unique and special place steeped in history.

A beautiful hotel from the colonial era at the center with huge potential but unfortunently poorly managed. Rooms are basic but in need a shapeup. The biggest drawback however is management with lost bookings, lack of staff and info and a breakfast so disorganized that we went after finalilly got a table went halfthrough. Management need to deside a clear path here, is it a hotel, a retirement home or a dodgy art center, now a mix of it all
Booked and confirmed in October for me, my wife, kids and a close family for the New Year but no room availabe when I arrived. I complained, they tried to get me rooms in other hotels. So my stay was going from one hotel to another until I ended up staying in diferent hotels around 1 km apart from one another. A disgusting and stressful experience in a country where everything runs so well!!

The building is an old German hospital built at the beginning of the 20th century. It is not only a hotel but in the back is a home for elderly. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. After two weeks of camping this felt like staying in paradise. Enormous and clean rooms. Breakfast was ok. Don't expect too much.
Room is nothing to write home about but clean and functional. The garden is very beautiful and shared with the elders home on the grounds. Staff is helpful and friendly. WiFi is a bit weak in the room but fast and stable when moving a bit closer (and sitting in the garden is nicer anyway).

Every meal was absolutely delicious along with the fresh juices and hot drinks. The green, red & orange juices were so tasty. My friends and I just about ate here every day either for breakfast or lunch during our 5 day visit to Swakopmund and much preferred this cafe to the others we tried in the area. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this place!

My oh my what a fabulous discovery! We walked in shortly prior to lunch and bagged the last available table for two. They were FULLY booked for lunch. Inside and outside were all reserved with actual arrival times of patrons. Service was on point, quick and friendly, but when the food was presented we were blown away by the presentation and taste.

We took a combo tour (living desert in the morning and sandwiche harbour in the afternoon), and I don't regret a dollar spent. We had a WONDERFUL DAY!
During a living desert trip, you get to know creatures living in the desert that normal people can't see. The guide could find even very small animals. He gave a lot of information but in a very easy way. I loved it.
There were snacks and drinks available during that tour.
Sandwich Harbour ride was my main pointbof interest in Namibia. Our driver was great. The views were amazing.
5 cars were driving together, and all of got lovely lunch at the desert. With a sparkling wine for those who wanted.

During my last visit to Swakopmund, I explored the desert with Tommy's Living Desert Tours, which was an amazing experience! It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn about and experience the unique desert ecosystem firsthand. The tour starts with an exciting 4x4 ride into the desert, where you get to stop intermittently to explore the remarkable fauna and flora of the region. We saw snakes, chameleons, geckos, and various different insects and plants. Our hosts, Duan and Andrew, were incredibly knowledgeable about the desert and were able to answer all of our questions. The drives through the dunes were exhilarating, and we were even able to climb up one of the dunes during the trip. The desert offers endless photo opportunities, and you'll walk away with some spectacular photos and memories to cherish. We also had a rest stop where we were provided with snacks and drinks. It's worth mentioning that at the rest stop there were also toilets available. This tour has given me a new found respect and awe for the desert. It is truly a remarkable place, and I am so grateful for the opportunity to have experienced it with Tommy's Living Desert Tours. If you are looking for a unique and unforgettable experience in Namibia, this is a tour you don't want to miss and something you will never forget!
our tour guide Marc was incredible. not only did he impart amazing knowledge about Namibia's desert wildlife in a very entertaining way, but he also enthused the children as well as the adults, drifted dunes, collected rubbish and caught all small animals in a sustainable way. book him! We did a Living Desert Tour with Tommy's in August 2025 and it was amazing. Johannes and Andrew were great guides and you could see their passion for the animals and nature. We saw a gecko, lizard, desert chameleon and a sand viper, plus great landscapes and got lots of info on the animals and area. It was especially nice to see how considerate the guides were with the animals, always making sure no harm is done to animals and flora. We would highly recommend this tour.

We did the 3 hour Adventure Desert Tour and it was fantastic, a real highlight of our trip. Our guide Hanjo was particularly great, friendly, knowledgable, fun. We saw almost no one else in the dunes which was a real welcome change from the previous day when we went to Sandwich Harbour - if you hate crowds I’d say do this instead.

We’re used to cycling quite a lot, but we wanted to try something different — and this fatbike tour through the sand dunes turned out to be an amazing experience! Riding over the soft dunes was both exciting and fun, and the scenery was absolutely stunning.
What made the tour even more special was how informative it was — our guide shared so many interesting details about the desert plants, the local wildlife, and how people adapt to living in such a unique environment.
Our guide,Mark, was extremely professional, yet very friendly and easy-going, which made the whole experience relaxed and enjoyable. You could really feel their passion and deep knowledge of the area.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a mix of adventure, nature, and local insight — it’s a perfect way to explore the desert from a different perspective!
An unforgettable experience! We did the Up Close Tour with the amazing Hanjo in July and were lucky to have the tour to ourselves. As well as having a ton of fun on the bikes, Hanjo found some cool minibeasts for us to meet - a horned adder, shovel-snouted lizard, fog catching beetle and FitzSimon's burrowing skink. This was a great tour, especially with kids. Our son is 9 and this was a real highlight for him during our tour of Namibia. Thanks Hanjo!
Absolutely epic time on my 2 hour tour of the dunes with Hanjo! He gave detailed insight on the dunes, Swakopmund, and Namibia in general. I walked away learning so much and it was hands down my favorite activity so far in Namibia! If you’re debating doing this, just do it, you won’t regret it!
Highly recommend the up close four hour bike tour. Hanjo was very knowledgeable and patient every time I fell off the bike. We saw lots of animals, learned a lot about tracking them, learned so much about the dunes and the flora, and biking the sand dunes was an amazing experience.

I never felt welcome with the two guys at the bar but she successfully managed to improve our evening with her awesomeness, smile, speed and efficiency! I came back for the beef tartar but it was subpar and definitely not at the right temperature. Also I found the cocktails to be inconsistent. But if you go make sure you have the best server in town to ensure you have a great time at Zonder Naam (Bar with no name is the name)

However they were bit slow with the service, I had to call their number for them to come which they were rude about after 30 minutes of waiting.

Bar Zonder Naam is a quaint bar close to the center of Swakopmund, which although easy to find, is definitely a hidden gem. They have a big selection of gins available, but also a nice selection of wines and craft beers ensuring there is something for everyone's taste. Although we only visited for drinks, food platters are available for those feeling a bit hungry. Our host, Siggie, was very friendly and welcoming and his knowledge of gin and flavour profiles is impressive. Based on our flavor profiles, he guided us through their large selection of gins and helped us pick some to try, which we really enjoyed. What made our experience even more special, was that they also have Namibian gins available, which I highly recommend you try. Overall, Bar Zonder Naam is a trendy and fun spot to relax at close to the center of town and was one of the best experiences we had in Swakopmund. Definitely a must visit!

12/10! We were a group of six and we had the best time ever! The was delicious, took us all back to Rome. The homemade pasta and pesto were a dream. The pizza delicious, this is by far the best Italian in Namibia. Worth a visit. The staff was amazing too, everyone was happy and in a really good mood. Thanks so much for hosting us, we had a blast.
My family and I had an amazing time. The chef was actually Italian!! He let my two kids make their own pizza, they were thrilled. The food was also amazing. My wife had the gnocchi and it was the best. Definitely recommend this place. The bathroom was amazing too...
I spied this tiny pizzeria from a nearby eatery and knew I had to check it out. Two nights later a group of 6 or 7 of us decided to try it out. We took up most of the available seating, but they still managed to find more space for us when a couple more friends showed up. I can say that none of us were disappointed. This is some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. How is that even possible??? It was exactly what we (I?) wanted and needed after a busy few days in Swakopmund. Give this place a try. It’s even better than it smells from the outside!

Good, not great. I got the Regina pizza and my wife got a Caesar salad. The salad was pretty good, the pizza was good. The restaurant was not full, but it felt as if the staff were elsewhere mentally at times. Again, good but not great. It's worth a stop if you are on the main street and are hungry.

Friendly staff. The food was delicious, however, my pizza arrived much later than the rest of the food. The burgers are quite substantial. The pizza was satisfactory and the rack of ribs just needed a bit more sauce.
I am a fan of their homemade chilli sauces on offer.

I can definitely recommend it to anyone really. They have been offering a very good quality of food consistently over the years and the staff feels friendly.

Located just outside Swakopmund, Two Beards Coffee Roastery on Einstein Street in Unit 6 Eastern Concepts is a trendy coffee house that boasts the finest coffee in Namibia. The roastery stands out for its unique decor and can be found in the industrial area rather than the town center or seaside. It offers both indoor and outdoor seating options, with a beautifully adorned second level inside. Notably, Two Beards Coffee Roasters caters to families by providing ample space for children.
One of the best coffees I have ever had at a coffee shop and that includes Cape Town coffee shops. Ranks on the Top Tier. Excellent and delicious oat milk latte. Have visited three times so far and it has been perfect every time. Excellent location and appropriately and comfortable furnished. Spacious indoor seating on large comfortable couches and armchairs with their own coffee table in the centre. They also sell quality coffee making equipment. The service was exceptionally friendly. They don't have a food menu as such, though they do serve food. May still see whether they can offer something to eat for vegans, before going back to Cape Town. The location is in the industrial area, but it is in amongst a number of high end furniture and other stores, so it's doesn't feel isilated. It's so close to the centre of Swakopmund, litteraly a few kilometres, that going there for outstanding coffee in an excellent atmosphere, is a nibbrainer. Highly recommend.

Although they are a roastery, what also sets them apart from just grabbing a coffee at a café in Swakopmund is their impressive selection of coffee. From unique blends to a wide variety of styles, they have something to cater to every coffee enthusiast's taste. I particularly loved their offering of specialized brewing techniques, which added a whole new dimension to our coffee-drinking experience. The staff here are not only friendly but also knowledgeable about their products and brewing techniques. They were more than happy to guide us through the choices and even shared some fascinating coffee insights. The roastery inside is trendy and relaxed. You even have a view of the roasting equipment, so you can see your coffee being made fresh. There's also a nice outside garden area where you can relax and sip on your coffee. If you aren't able to get to the roastery, they do have some popups where you can sample their coffee, such as one located at Trendhaus in the center of Swakopmund. Overall, I had a great experience at Two Beards Coffee Roastery. The coffee was excellent, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves coffee.
I love their decorations! And their coffee is the best of the best. They are not *in the town centre, or sea erea* of Swakopmund town - but almost in the industrial area. They have *individual seatings outside and inside* - they also have a second level inside, which is so stunning decorated. There are enough space for the kids as well. I am sorry I only found them on my last day in Swakopmund.
This is a must for anyone traveling through Swakopmund. They have great home feel meals with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. Then we have the coffee’s, a full menu of different coffee’s all with different ingredients and even different methods to making them! Great atmosphere and excellent service!

They took care of everyone no matter if you are a snowboard pro or having board on your feet for the first time. They make sure that despite your skills you feel comfortable, safe and satisfied.
We did snowboarding & lie down ... both are great experience and definitely worth trying it.
Everything was recorded by a professional camera man that made sure everyone had their videos and shoots done... whole trip ends with lunch, drinks and huge smile on your face 😁

Had a great time with Karl and Endem (I may be misspelling it). Both super helpful during our stand up sand boarding and the lie down flying down the dune adventure. Tried sand boarding before but not with an instructor, and without the straps. This was definitely a step up. The guides were super motivating when I was doubting that I could do the jump, really helped me!! Lunch was simple and delicious, drinks were cold after, exactly what we needed. Walking up the dune is not a zero effort task, and it’s so worth it, the views are amazing and the experience quite special. I absolutely recommend this. Thank you team!!
I emailed this group late on night when I arrived in town, and Beth replied first thing in the morning. By 9:30 am, I was on my way to the dunes.
They pick up and drop off, and provide lunch which includes beer and soft drinks for a very reasonable price.
I had six runs; far more than expected.

They stock an incredible variety of African artifacts and items from the time of German rule as well as pre-independence Namibia. The staff is passionate about history, knowledgeable about their products, and friendly to customers. It is recommended that visitors budget ample time for exploring this unique shopping experience.
Nothing I love more than a good antique shop. This place has a great selection of bric a brac, local antiques, books, curiousa and decoratives. A little bit of everything and when you’re done shopping go to Kuckis Pub next door for a burger and cold drink!

Wow, only go here when you have lots time to spare. It will take a long time to have a look at everything they have to offer. There are things from long before Namibian independence as well as from the time of German rule. They also stock the most amazing variety of African artifacts.
The store contains a lot of arfefacts from indigenous African tribes as well as old coins and medals
It is rather expensive in comparison to the other places I've visited and bought old cutlery so I ended up buying only a very small little angel

The Woermannhaus, a historic building in Swakopmund, was constructed in 1905 as the main office for a German trading company. Today, it houses an art gallery and library. For a small fee, visitors can explore the interior and climb the tower for panoramic views of the ocean and desert. The building has served various purposes over the years, including as a school dormitory and shelter for sailors. It is easily accessible and offers plenty of photo opportunities.

The Woermannhaus is one of the most recognizable buildings in the center of Swakopmund. While I was exploring Swakopmund, I saw the Woermannhaus from the outside, and although I didn't go inside, it was still a beautiful building to look at. It is easy to find, the surrounding area is safe, and there are plenty of photo opportunities. I have seen other reviewers mention that you can climb the tower for amazing views, but I didn't do so myself, so I can't confirm if this is still possible. Overall, definitely worth a visit, even just for a quick stop.

We had such a great time here. The owner, Russell I believe is his name, is very nice and keeps the place very well. Its just a short walk across the street to the beach. Absolutely beautiful place to stay!
Update, our rental was in 2022 and whoever is managing it now makes it sound as if our rental was not with them so I don’t know if the management is the same in 2024.
Beautiful Guesthouse short walk from Swakopmund. Very friendly staff and delicious breakfast - they were great about accommodating our vegan dietary requirements. Nice walk along the beach to Mole and Swakopmund centre. Note that you have to drive to restaurants for lunch/dinner. Rooms are beautiful though bit noisy (from pipes?). Recommend!

The rooms look amazing, the breakfast is exceptional, I would definitely come back.
The only negative things were useless heating in the room and during the night gets really cold (had to take extra blanket) and in the evening (around 6pm) there was no one on the reception any more.

Apart from Napolutana you don't get any better pizza than Wurstbude. Just the best. The menu on the other goods is a bit limited. Also very pricy wine. Good all around atmosphere and lovely staff.
We popped in for a quick bite to eat. The table we sat at was baking in the sun. We ordered drinks and food. Children were playing on the playground. The beer was ice cold! The sun was making us lazy. Then the food came.... It was very nice! We really enjoyed our meal. The building maybe needs a little tlc, but the overall rustic atmosphere was spot on. And the staff was very helpful.

I enjoyed a delightful platter for one full of perfectly cooked seafood. We shared a sushi platter for 1 as a starter and it was really good. The service here is very good.

Responce ;you can just drive 60 km than we wil help you the service is 15 min we wate 45 min for food ,and only 1 table was ocupide at time
Everything was good. I was somewhat impressed by the sushi... I didn't expect it to be good. The sashimi was frozen and then defrosted so that wasn't good... but i ate it lol
The Ocean Basket is situated in a beautiful part of Swakopmund with a view of some of the old buildings. The service is top class and the food is amazing as always! I would 100% recommend getting some seafood here while you are in Swakopmund.

Very poor service, unfriendly staff. Hot chocolate and veggies was cold. The cheese cake dessert was watery with too much syrup on. Not a pleasant experience. The sushi and the starter bread was good though.
Very disappointed in the take away platter for two. Not the same as when you eat in the restaurant self. They give you less. Had to buy extra chips.
Thought the second time will be better, but unfortunately not. Will not order take away from ocean basket again 😢

Served by a friendly staff member. Food came out really quickly and portions were a good size. Reasonably priced and a real picturesque German style pub. Schnitzel was good too.

The best schnitzel and cold beer you could ask for in this part of the world! Awesome staff and very cool location! Service was fast and good not only large portions but affordable price! Unfortunately they don’t open on a Sunday or I would be back again! Highly recommended!

We enjoyed our visit to Swakopmund Brauhaus. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere had a nice local charm—great for soaking in the town’s vibe. The food was okay, not particularly memorable, but still satisfying. Overall, a pleasant experience and worth a stop if you're in the area.

I really enjoyed my visit to Brauhaus Swakopmund. The atmosphere is fantastic — lively, authentic, and very welcoming. The service was excellent; staff were friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable.
The food, while decent, didn’t quite reach the same level as the service and atmosphere. Still worth a visit if you’re looking for a great vibe and warm hospitality in Swakopmund.
Difficult to peg... Ok-ish wine list, decent food. Not the best, but flavourful enough and sufficient in quantity. Service was nice, but I've had better. Atmosphere was OK, though it felt a bit workman-like, for lack of a better word.

Very nice bar, the waitress was very nice. I had the grilled Zebra steak with garlic butter. I was amazing. 10 weeks in 10 countries in Africa and it was without a doubt the best the I ate.

Move over Brau Haus, we have a new favorite German restaurant in Swakop! We'd been wanting to give this place a try because, from the outside, it looks a fun spot. It's self-service, so you go up to the window and tell them what you want, and you order drinks at the bar. We had an absolutely delicious pork dish with sauerkraut, plus beer and pretzels. Everything was well-priced and service was fast and friendly. There's a seating area in the back with a sand pit for kids. Highly recommended!

A real gem tucked away, cosy and elegant with warm, attentive service. The curated menu caters for meat lovers, vegetarians and everything in between. I had the rare rump steak with hot vegetables and did not manage a photo—it was simply too delicious to pause. The beer garden is spacious and inviting, ideal for long, relaxed afternoons. A refreshing find.
Below average experience unfortunately for me. Service: took 15 minutes to get a menu on a not busy Sunday afternoon. Food: ordered the prawns and fries and received shrimp instead. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she mentioned that they look smaller because the cook already peeled them from the shell... What was received was itty bitty shrimp, 100% not prawns.
Was on holiday recently in Namibia and this restaurant was definitely my favourite. Friendly staff, great food and the interior is stunning. Definitely worth it!
