Excellent Rehabilitation centre. Caring and helpful towards animals in need and an eye opener about nature and the impact we as humans have on nature and wildlife. My guests always loves the tours and I can highly recommend a tour at Moholoholo. Been supporting them for many many years.

This was my first time doing a full day tour with one of our student groups, and I absolutely loved it! As a biologist I have worked with an visited many rehab centres and sanctuaries, and seen many guided experiences. Ethan our guide was fabulous, definitely one of the best I have seen, giving good factual knowledge, knowing his stuff, and interacting with the group really well! Becky also gave us an excellent tour of the current rehab cases and discussed the important work they do!

This place gave a great up close experience to see the animals that have been rehabilitated. I also like the fact that their goal is to release the ones that are able, back into the wild.

This centre does a wonderful job in educating the public, including school children, about conservation and poaching. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable, and there is a range of beautiful animals here to learn about, from dassies to black leopards. Such a great experience!

We went to Moholoholo to visit Stoffel the Honey badger. But we got so much more. Moholoholo is dedicated to animal conservation, education, and rehabilitation. The work they do is vital in preserving the jewels of Africa, their beautiful wildlife. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and funny. Shout out to Moses, who was brilliant and making us all laugh while still emphasising the seriousness of the effects of poaching. The animals you can visit there are the animals that could not be released back into the wild due to injury or because they had had too much human contact for various reasons. Moholoholo does NOT show animals currently in rehab to the public to prevent them from being unable to be released back into the wild. The work they do is important. The animals in their care are well looked after, and we will definitely return. My only complaint is that the gift shop was closed after the tour so I never did get my Stoffel Teeshirt. Sucks to be me. It does not suck to support the Moholoholo rehab facility. Amazing.

This rehabilitation centre is very well run. The animals are very well cared for, the facility is very neat, clean and tidy as are the bathrooms. The shop is well kitted and the food kiosk has ample food selection. Nathan was extremely informative and had answers to the many questions. This facility is well worth a visit, they can't continue their excellent work without our support. Please give them your support.

Loved that this was part of our safari with Viva Safari’s. You get to see the animals up close and they are even given snacks.

Wow. They are doing incredible work to ensure that our endangered Wildlife continues to exist. The facilities are great. Educational and interactive. Excellent service and value for money. Nice restaurant with yummy food on site, freshly made.

We did this outing a few years back so it was lovely to see how it’s changed since. There was less animals than I remembered but the facilities are first class. My teens loved the Leopard and yes the King Cheetah is gorgeous! We had a lovely guide - Ruhan I think - who was very knowledgable, informative and friendly. It’s not cheap for domestic tourists but definitely worth it as you can see what the money is used for.

Really enjoyed seeing the different animals. They do a great job in taking care of the animals. Very knowledgeable guides. Would definitely be back.

A favorite family stop over place for lunch or drinks when we travel in the area. Beautiful facilities that are normally very quiet during the off season and we'll worth the visit. There are 2 tours with open safari vehicles at 9 and 11am to see certain big 5 animals in enclosed camps. The ambience and relax nature are inviting but note they close at 14h00 pm.

Great experience! It is amaizing to see how passionate these people are about their animals and the fantastic work they are doing! We got to drive into a cheetah camp on an open vehicle, which was a thrilling experience! Also got to see the vultures being fed which is magnificent! The guide was informed and very friendly. The animals are in very good shape and cared for. Well worth the time and money spend.

Lots of small stores catering to tourists, you can find lots of gifts here if you can afford it. Nice atmosphere ...but stores closes early (about 13h00) on Saturdays, only few restaurants still open.

Lovely place to shop clothing and curios, restuarants to eat, printing to be done and pasport photos to be taken. Need something spescial to wear, natural vibre clothing, go to Fern Boutique. Good jewelery shops, a barber, money exchange, out door clothing by IZIT

Great place and fantastic atmosphere. The shops are great and the food is delicious. Play area for the kids. And a fantastic ice cream shop. Definitely the place to visit.

Good assortment of shops (tourist, clothing, jewelry, bookshop, hairdresser, estate agent) and restaurants as well as a car wash and plant nursery. Parking available (some shady spots) and good public toilet facilities. Wheelchair access.

The best place in town with the information centre which is so helpful especially to the visitors. I like the the way Hoedspruit information centre is being set up in the centre as you are able to book shuttle services operating between O.R.Tambo and Hoedspruit.

Beautiful center with lots of shops and restaurants. We will definitely stop there again on our way through Hoedspruit. Some shop are mind blowing. A must when you close by.

Having a playground is a major plus, as this convinced us to try out the venue. The meat platter, springbok carpaccio and macaroni's are very good. One negative is the staff apathy. Twice I had to look for a waitron to order, then ask a question about desserts. When I wanted to pay I had to approach the bar as the waitron disappeared and nobody else was around.

The restaurant offers a wide variety of different dishes. The main specialty is grilled and focuses on beef fillet. Beef fillet with Roquefort and figs is a perfect dish in every way

Hat and Creek has really good food — everything tastes fresh and well-prepared. Unfortunately, the service completely ruins the experience. The waitresses are not kind or helpful at all, and it feels like they don’t care about the customers. It’s a pity because the place has potential, but the staff’s attitude makes it hard to enjoy the meal.

We came on a busy night, and I can only assume that's the reason we waited more than an hour for our food. As for the food, it was delicious. I ordered my steak medium, and in my opinion it was slightly over but close enough, and it was tender and delicious. The french fries were amazing, unfortunately they only gave me a very little bit. I think a total of 10 french fries and I'm not even exagerating. The plate was half empty and they only gave me 10 french fries. They were so good however, that I ordered an extra side of fries. My girlfriend had a beef dish that was also delicious. I will definitely be back, but if they skimp on the fries again I'll complain to the server about it, cause that was just weird and unnecessary.

Comes over as a smart upmarket venue but has a couple of flaws. The toilet area is the worst I have experienced in SA. A hand towel…really ?? Err…hygiene… Shambolic service. There was 13 in our party. 6 of us arrived at 6.30pm and we got our drinks AFTER THE other 7 had arrived, ordered and had their drinks. We waited almost 45 minutes for our drinks despite repeated requests. Food was fine. There is a lot of competition in the town and the H&C won’t get our custom the next time we visit.

It was my second time here, first time food was slow despite it not being busy. The fire outside was lovely. Tonight my daughter's food had the longest hair wrapped all around and through it. Our steaks are rare instead of medium and you will miss all of this if you are sitting outside due to the minimal light. I just happened to shine the lamp directly on the food.

Wonderful restaurant. Arguably best in Hoedspruit. Food is always delicious and well presented, whatever you order from their wide array. Unfortunately you'll hardly ever see management, let alone the owner/s, which makes it impersonal. Should you leave as one of the "last", you'll find the staff on their phones, or chatting. A little more attention to detail required

I would just like to give a big shout out to Given Ndlovu from Hoedspruit Reptile park. Given really went the extra mile allowing my daughter to feed the chameleon some worms. He also allowed her to hold the snake around her neck and even took a few photos for us. All the animals there are really well taken care off. There is safety procedures in place as well so children can't fall into the crocodile enclosures. Thank you very much Sharlene Collins and Given Ndlovu for making my daughter birthday so special. We will definitely be visiting again.

I would 100% recommend Hoedspruit Reptile Centre to anyone who wants to learn more about Reptiles. We love to go and we learn something new every time.

Got up close and personal with some amazing wildlife, including snakes galore and the biggest iguana I’ve ever seen in my life. Definitely worth an hour or two.

We visit regularly. Improvements have been done on enclosures and you can really see a difference. The reptiles are cared for well. Also a great venue for birthday parties. The kids loved the interactions and live handling which was so informative. Small restaurant and tuckshop on premises.

Wonderful place. Beautiful, and very clean enclosures. Healthy animals and friendly staff. An over all wonderful experience at a very good cost. Can highly recommend for people who like reptiles as well as those that may not - you may just be pleasantly surprised!

I took the self guided tour and it was quite straight forward, I saw all types of different reptiles from around the world. The self guided tour is just the basic. You can do more here and the staff is always ready to answer your questions.

Had an amazing experience, very informative and educational. Reptiles are well kept. We loved every moment of it, the best part was taking pictures with a snake. There's also a Deli that sells yummy sandwiches and chips(fries).

The service is not good at all. Was sat down by a waiter, then waited just over 15 minutes just to get a menu. I had to stand up and ask the waiter if I could please get a menu and order drinks. Not a good first impression. Another waiter then later took my order by leaning on the table just to write down the order. Also has seemed like she had no clue about the menu. Had to repeat myself, and eventually just showed her in the menu what I wanted to order. Was honestly looking forward to dining here, but sadly I'm highly disappointed. 0 stars for service. On the other hand the food was absolutely amazing! Spot on! What a good Indian dish! Authentic, spicy, and flavoursome! Compliments to the chef!!! 5 stars for food!

Sat at the Dine (Restaurant) Food is good and service from Tebogo was amazing. Starters were so filing I couldn't eat mains 🤭 Even got some guide on Things to do in the area. Thank You Ladies! Horrific Experience!!!! On arrival(10min early ) we were given a table and no one attended to us after that. We waited for 30min and still no one attend to as until we stopped a waiter that was busy with another table, we ordered drinks and starters which only arrived after an hour at that time we had already decided to just get the mains ourselves which was the buffet. We even had to get cutlery off an empty table as our table had only a white dirty table cloth and once we got our drinks they didnt even come with straws that was another 30min wait just for straws. The manager only checked on tables of customers he clearly knew as he would also have seats at those tables every few minutes and completely ignored us. The seafood buffet was not too bad, food was fresh i would however suggest you go during the day if you want to have a meal peaceful. We went in the evening and the place is plagued with bugs that are attracted by light and will go in your food i suppose it is the bush but it really does worsen an already bad expirience

After reading the other reviews, here is my take.If you cant find the restaurant with the abundance of parking and.the thatch entrance with a sign of the daily specials you may need binoculars for glasses. The staff where welcoming, the service well lets be honest its laid back as is the environment its not poor. As the picture above displays I had the chicken and salad well presented and tasty.

Our reservation was set for 17h00, it is now 19h15, still no order coming out of the kitchen. Will keep you posted. So we decided to leave at 19h36, requested our drinks bill and canceled our food order. The waiter called the boss who apologized, offered us the evening on the house. Six kids under the age of two were becoming restless, and there was no guarantee as to when the food was coming out the kitchen. That was why we decided to go elsewhere. The boss through the staff under the bus saying they dropped the ball. Not true, they did their best with what they had. The boss must always be on top of things. Other than that, great venue, good music, lovely views, comfy chairs, front house staff, the few that were on duty, did a good job. No idea what was happening in the kitchen, maybe a boss was missing. When I am in the area again I would like to have a meal here, but would first make sure they are stocked with everything on the menu.

Delicious food with a great atmosphere! Especially the fried calamari. We saw the restaurant at a Dutch television show and wanted to go there by ourselfs. Beautiful views!

Had a mixed experience. Initially, we struggled to find the restaurant due to confusing signage, which set a frustrating tone for our evening. However, our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, making up for the initial hiccup. Unfortunately, it took longer than expected to receive our orders, which was a bit disappointing. The food was a letdown, despite its delicious flavors. Our steaks were slightly burnt and over-salted, which was a shame given our high expectations. It's a pity, as the dishes showed promise but fell short in terms of execution. We also tried the Virgin Mojitos, which, unfortunately, didn't impress. Having had Virgin Mojitos before, we wouldn't say this was the best version we've had. On a positive note, the restaurant itself is stunning, offering breathtaking views that made our dining experience worthwhile.

Restaurant has a decently priced menu, loved the Thursday seafood buffet. The romantic atmosphere in the evening is to die for. Bar and big screen TV also available for game nights.

What a wonderful place for a meal. Beautiful establishment set in an ideal environment. Fantastic views of the mountains. Interesting to get to but once you’re there you can’t beat it.but the pizza was not nice.

We stayed for a week in Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, and we had a lovely time .The place is close to shops which is very convenient in case you need anything.we were surrounded by animals, we had warthog,zebras kudus and many more right outside our lodge.

A very nice estate we've never been before. There is a nice park were you can walk, cycle of drive and we've seen many giraffes, warthogs and grysbok. We stayed at a nice place in 'The Village'. Cathy is a very friendly host who told us a lot about things to do in Hoedspruit.

Beautiful and peaceful! Some yards have fencing around so you don't worry about animals coming to close - Ndoto cottage is where we stayed,it had a fence. I love how there are neighbours around but you hardly notice them because they are not right next door. I'd love to visit this place again.

The SPAR Hoedspruit is a great option for stocking up or re-stocking on essentials, especially if you're staying at one of the central Kruger National Park rest camps. The store offers a wide range of products, catering to various needs. It was clean and efficient, making the shopping experience pleasant. A bonus is the pharmacy just around the corner, adding convenience to your shopping trip. Definitely a good grocery store option in the area.

The teller wearing a red top n Afro pony was very rude in how she speaks and with a temper, asked for a pin aggressively as if there’s something I did to her, speaking in a language I don’t understand. 1. I don’t speak Sesotho or Tsonga 2. It was my first time withdrawing instant money I didn’t know that I must give the pin to her instead of punching it myself.

The access control personnel will rather make you open your own package that you bought at the entrance so they can see before entering the store while other ppl are walking past with hand bags and plastic bags. The manager she is very friendly, she assisted with the special request at the Deli

Everything was lekker! I needed a last minute place for the night before tavelling back to Gauteng and this is a stunning little stop over. I would definitely recommend it if you need an affordable place to stay over if you are going to explore the hoedspruit area or if you are looking to stay the night. 10/10 for Mr. Johan and team!

Stunning little bnb the rooms we were in were single beds, comfortable. Aircon was amazing but eskom loadshedding made it switch off which wasnt great. We were there when it was very hot.

My lunch box is missing bexauze we share fridge and microwave ...no mixrowave and fridge in the rooms

Two of us stayed here on a business trip. Place is neat and cozy. Breakfast was fantastic. Really enjoyed the massive amount of bonsai plants on display. We will definately stay over again.

We love our local restaurant, The Hoedspruit Cafe! They have stunning food and the best milkshakes in town, love bringing family here when they visit from other provinces/ countries. It’s a great place to take the kids as they have an awesome playground for the little ones!

Amazing atmosphere, coffee was super, but the Portuguese Custard tart was a bit disappointing. Paying R50 for such a small tart is unthinkable, but the taste was so yummy. I would suggest baking it a bit bigger to get more value for your money and maybe add a bit more detail to plate and garnish the dessert. The Milktart muffin was delicious and also a bit expensive 😋. We will visit again!

Best French toast I’ve had. Fruit and muesli was delicious. Avo on toast was also very good! Milkshakes were super tasty. Coffee was also very good.

Great atmosphere! Best place to go to if you want your kids entertained and you can relax for a good meal and a glass of wine! I would recommend Hoedpsruit Cafe to anyone. Also great for kids parties. you don't have to do anything yourself and the cake options are endless!

Stopped here for a quick lunch, I had the chicken pie and my wife had the chicken mayo., both dishes were delicious. The service was good and there was something on the menu for everyone. The cakes looked delicious pity I never had any space for that...

I stayed in Room 5 which is extremely spacious with a private outdoor shower and view into the bush. The owners were very accomodating when I wanted to add more nights to my stay and even offered me a ride to town when I didn't have my own transport. The airconditioning works wonderfully but does switch off during load shedding hours and wi-fi was a bit spotty. There weren't any lampshades for the bedside table lights so they are too bright at night. The rest of my stay was great with friendly helpful staff, a tasty simple breakfast, lovely pool and attentive owners who were very responsive and helpful. Would stay here again every time I return to Hoedspruit as it's such great value for money!

I can't recommend Ujabule lodge enough. Liezel is such a lovely person who made me feel so welcome the moment I arrived. The room was immaculately clean, air conditioned and has a choice of both indoor and outdoor showering. Only a 15 minute walk from all the shops but still far enough to feel lost in nature within the wildlife reserve. Would definitely return 😁👍

If you want to reflect , refresh, enjoy a serene environment this is the place to be . Beautiful lodge in a wildlife estate. Was on a business trip it was wonderful. Definitely coming back for holidays I enjoyed my stay highly recommend

Incredible little lodge in a gorgeous estate. For new owner Liezel, nothing was too much trouble!! Next time we will book the whole place just because it's so lovely, although sharing was not an imposition at all, the rooms are well enough apart.

Property was very comfortable. Room had everything I needed (hot water pot, mini fridge, very comfortable bed, TV etc) Open kitchen area with microwave and dishes. Host was very nice and responsive. She gave me a lot of info about area. I would highly recommend a stay.

Amazing space to relax and enjoy the wildlife on your doorstep. A hop away from the airport and the centre of Hoedspruit. A great base camp for Kruger and the surrounds. Sue and Deon have an exceptional knowledge of the area and their recommendation list is endless. Call of the Wild has a special place in my heart!

Beautifull place to stay in Hoedspruit. We were very well welcomed by Deon and Sue in their place. In fact when I made the reservation I did not even know what was the location of their lodge. It is on the spot that we discovered that we are staying in an estate with wild animals around. Arriving after the sunset we could spot many of them close to our lodge. The place is very well and nicely maintained. Big rooms, big beds with nets. The outdoor facilities are nice and you can see animals around. Deon and Sue prepared us a very good and big breakfast as we left very early. We want to thank you for your kindness and that we would have loved to stay more if we could at your place. hope to come back again. thank you.

This place is really beautiful. Located right in a private reserve, you wake up with the birds and are served an amazing breakfast while watching the animals. The hosts Sue and Deon are wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. They recommended places, we wouldn't have known about and we're really glad that they did. I asked for a room with two separate beds but instead Sue went ahead and right away upgraded us to the suite with two separate bedrooms. The beds are very comfortable and the AC is just a bliss. I'll definitely stay here again when I'm in the area and can only highly recommend this place to anyone.

The food is good and always up to standard. You do not wait too long for your food. The service is quick and easy to order. With the friendly staff it makes it even easier to order. You can order online and they deliver in Hoedspruit town. Their opening and closing hours may differ sometimes. The ice cream machine is always working! Its just as easy to call them and order on the telephone as well. The garage kiosk is also very well stocked with softdrinks, juices, pies and sweets. They also keep some braai grids and stands. They sell wood and charcoal. You can also get some gas while you wait for your food.

We placed an order yesterday specifically asking for no sauce to be added and received the correct order and hour later in horrible condition. Placed an order this morning again stating no sauce and the packaging says no sauce but there's sauce on the toaster burger sandwich. Called to confirm and the manager was extremely rude. Worst service ever.

Not very busy, yet the wait was very long(would have gotten my cheese burger and fries quicker at Spur). Chips slightly undercooked and not up to the Steers standard.

What a wonderful experience in the most unlikely of places. Wonderful food and incredible atmosphere. Would definitely stop by again.

Extremely rude and unprofessional business owner. I called to confirm there was no gluten in my tuna poké takeaway. I had mentioned my intolerance to gluten when I first reached out on WhatsApp. I only realized there was seasoning on the poké when I got home. I never expected that because poké is supposed to be just raw fish. Anyway, at first, he alleged I was saying they use poor-quality soy sauce. I explained that I wasn’t saying that at all. Even high-quality soy sauce has wheat in it. Then he showed me on WhatsApp videos *in Chinese* of the soy sauce bottles they use. I don’t read Chinese and asked if he did. Turned out he didn’t either. He said his supplier “guarantees” it. I asked if he could send me pictures of the labels so I could use google translate to check if there was wheat. Being gluten-intolerant, I know that only Japanese Tamari soy sauce is gluten-free but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He said he couldn’t do it right away even though he was showing me the bottles in the video. Then he accused me of only mentioning gluten “after the fact” when it was literally the message on WhatsApp that I opened with. The irony is that we were talking on WhatsApp. He repeatedly talked over me throughout the call. The cherry on the top was the statement that “you’re just taking the piss. I have a business to run,” at which point I hung up. I was professional throughout our interaction and was taken aback by such rudeness. I own a business myself and would never address a customer like this.

I was thoroughly impressed by their Moroccan chickpea phyllo pastry—flaky, flavourful, and surprisingly wholesome. It’s rare to find something so delicious that also feels like a healthy choice. Their menu strikes that perfect balance: diverse without being overwhelming, offering something for every palate while keeping things approachable. And the service? Sisie, our waitress, was an absolute star—pleasant, attentive, and warm, making the whole experience feel even more special. Without a doubt, this is the best restaurant in Hoedspruit, and I already can’t wait to return.

As a longtime Hoedspruit resident, Fig & Bean remains my go-to spot for meetings and coffee dates. The welcoming atmosphere has always been part of its charm, and the longstanding staff truly make the experience special. The team's warmth and care shine through with every interaction I've had with them. The menu is full of delicious choices, but I especially love their wraps and sandwiches. Their sweet potato fries are an absolute standout, and as a red cappuccino fan, I can confidently say they serve one of the best in town. Another highlight is their location in the Rock Fig Centre, where you’ll also find a variety of shops to explore from art and design goods to unique curios and specialty services. I highly recommend this beautiful establishment, whether you’re a local or a visitor passing through our AMAZING town!!!

Best café in town! I recently dined at The Fig and Bean cafe and had a delightful experience. The food was truly delicious and presented with great care. It was evident that the chefs take pride in their craft, as every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The staff at were very friendly and attentive, making my dining experience even more enjoyable. The service was prompt and the team went out of their way to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. One of the highlights of my visit was the outdoor play area. It was a great addition to the restaurant, providing a fun and safe space for kids to play while adults enjoyed their meals. It added a special touch to the overall ambiance of the restaurant and made my dining experience more enjoyable, especially as a family. Overall, I highly recommend The Fig and Bean for a memorable dining experience. Patricia is definetly the right person at the right place.She has deep knowledge of the hippos , knows exactly how to behave with them and especially she loves them and is very attentive to their wellbeeing. That’s why we had such a true experience with her and Jessica and her baby. I will no longer see the hippos as killers as I often read they are. Truly a once in a lifetime experience! I joined the tours and also stayed overnight at the accommodation, which I highly recommend. Staying over offers a more relaxed, personal atmosphere, where you get to quietly observe the hippos throughout the day whenever they’re around. An unforgettable way to connect with nature.

Drakensig is a beautiful course from a scenic point of view, but unfortunately the groundskeeping is disappointing, compared to other small town courses. It's sad to see, as it seems like it was once upon a time a very nice course. Considering the current state of the course, the relatively high green fees (R250 for a non-member 9 holes) is questionable. Nevertheless, it's a fairly easy and enjoyable course to play.

booked and paid a day in advance and told them we needed 2 golf carts,got to the golf course and then we were told all the golf carts were taken and had to wait another 2 hours to play

I am no golf player but this place is not one of your big, famous golf courses that we have in South Aftica, but it's nice suited inside the bushveld surrounded by hard wood and mountains. Quite a distance to walk especially in the local heat so I suggest to rent a Golf Car or to bring your own. Also be very careful for the local wildlife. The Impales wouldn't really bother you but the baboon and warthogs and definitely the snakes could.

The Golf Club is situated in Hoedspruit. Great out door activity for family. A great golfing experience and beautiful scenery whilst playing. Sportsbar available where players and family can get together and mingle. Ensure to book to gain entery to the Golf Club.

Good golfing area with good area around the hole although between the t off point and the hole the grass is a bit rough! Good overall experience though!

We recently stayed in Hoedspruit at Maya Manor for a half marathon run and this accommodation exceeded our expectations. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the place was spotless and well-maintained. What really made our stay special was the warm welcome and cosy atmosphere - it truly felt like home. The owner was super friendly and always willing to lend a hand. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming place to rest!

We were fortunate enough to spend Easter weekend at Muunga. It was outstanding in all areas and the hosts are so lovely, they felt like family by the end. I cannot praise this lodge enough, it's beautiful,clean, the service exceptional and attention to detail is amazing. Bonus is the best coffee around. The food is delicious, no matter what you have, an amazing chef. We will most definitely be back.

Staying at Muunga was an absolute joy, Ruan and Jenny are incredible hosts and their hospitality is truly unmatched, I cannot recommend this lodge enough! The rooms are spacious and incredibly comfortable, the beds are large, the mattress and bedding made for an incredibly good few nights sleep. The bathrooms are spacious and well equipped, the double shower and large mirror felt a big luxury. The private garden was also absolutely gorgeous. The space both the main lodge and the rooms themselves are beautifully decorated and we quickly felt very at home. The breakfast is delicious and made to order, the bar is very well equipped with an impressive selection of wines and whiskeys. We saw a variety of animals while lounging by the pool which is always a bonus! We also booked massages which were deeply relaxing. What really sets this lodge apart from other places we've stayed was the company and hospitality of Ruan and Jenny, they did absolutely everything to make our stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible, even ordering and picking us up dinner to have at the lodge, and lighting many fires for us to enjoy our evening drinks with. We will definitely be returning and bring friends with us in the future! Thank you so much for such a lovely and memorable stay!

Muunga Lodge provided a totally restorative experience. It offered us peace, a beautiful aesthetic, comfort and a kind of warmth rarely experienced on our travels. Lodge owners Ruan and Jenny provide another level of care, which is evidenced by the thought, design and individual touches they have given to the property. As you walk into the lodge you are greeted with a phenomenal view of the Drakensberg mountains, polished concrete floors warmed up with earthen colours, individual furnishings and stunning photography. Through stunning glass doors, a fire pit with seating for cosy nights under the stars and a gorgeous pool which abbuts the natural world of the reserve with Warthogs, Waterbuck and Kudu wondering by. The rooms were outstanding and comfortable with a huge bath, outdoor shower and cosy terrace looking out to the bush, mountains and pool. There are bicycles to borrow from the lodge if you want to discover the local wildlife and a spa with a menu of massages if you just want to chill. Muunga Bush Lodge provides the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure for a group of friends/family and an unbeatable level of service. We will be back!!

My Sister and I had an amazing time at Muunga Bush Lodge and Spa. Jenny and Ruan are such amazing hosts. We appreciate the warm and friendly welcome we received. They definitely love having people around and they make sure that they give their 100% best in taking care of their guests. What a relaxed weekend we had! The rooms are so cozy and beautiful. The environment and atmosphere is so peaceful and super clean, oooh not forgetting their delicious meals. We got at opportunity to get a massage from Muunga Spa, this was definitely one of the highlights of the getaway, the massage was the best I've ever had. It really made my stay unforgettable. We also went for a game drive. What an amazing time we had. The Ranger was very intentional in making our game drive the best. We saw almost all the animals one could think off including a Leopard, Cheetahs, Rhinos etc. It was overall an amazing getaway. The lodge and the hosts exceeded my expectations. The view is amazing when you are having your meals. The lodge is so clean and well maintained. The interior designing is out of this world. I would definitely recommend this lodge if you want to have an amazing and peaceful getaway with the assurance that you will be taken care of. I repeat, Jenny and Ruan you are the best. We appreciate everything you did for us.

Very warm welcome, beautiful decoration. Spacious room and bathroom, comfortable bed, everything is clean, well thought out, even the small details, exp small towel for removing make-up and another for cleaning shoes. Our family recently stayed with the owners Carine and Josef for 12 days and they were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The guest house is very spacious, exceptionally clean and the rooms are decorated to a high standard. The breakfast was also of high standard and different each day. We were sad to say goodbye. I would highly recommend this guest house.

Had an awesome stay at the Belgium Inn, nice rooms and a super breakfast. It's fun to go for a walk on the guinea fowl loop and discover the animals on foot. Jos, the owner, is very kind and there is Stella in the fridge.... Feels like home.

Lovely cottages, private, clean, well equipped kitchen, great location inside the Estate with animals walking around. Highly recommended for a weekend away or when visiting KNP as a day visitor and returning to this lodge for the night.

We had a fantastic stay in the Lodge. The Villa including the outside area with pool and fireplace was just amazing and Vicky and Henro were wonderful hosts! In the wildlife estate you can drive around with your own car, you can even go for a night drive in the evenings. Or just have a walk or go by bicycle to encounter the nature in a different way. Maybe it was just by coincidence or our stay there brought us luck. When we left the lodge and went to Kruger, we found a small pack of wild dogs! :-)

We stayed at Sable Cottage at Wild Dog Inn for a week - and I would love to go back right now! There is everything you need to make yourself comfortable and feel at home. Everything was super clean and tidy. The hosts are wonderful - give all kind of information. We did a half-day bike tour through the Wildlife Estate with the bikes of Wild Dog Inn. The bikes are really good and we had a lovely time on the estate. Being located on the greenbelt you can see quite some animals from your terrace like duiker, Impala, Warthogs and even a giraffe. The hornbills are curious and watch you having breakfast. Thanks for a great stay - we will be back!

Staying in the Sable Cottage. The accommodation is very well presented. Its clean and tidy. Very well decorated as well as homely. The host is very welcoming, friendly and accommodating! It is situated very well, being on the green strip with animals passing by, one feels as if they are out in nature. Would definitely recommend the Wild Dog Guest Lodge.

It was my first trip to South Africa and we had a long journey to get to the lodge. We asked the hosts if it is possible to have a late check in around 11pm. It was no problem. Our stay was perfect, the lodge was beautiful and the exploring the surrounding was very exciting. The hosts were very helpful by making fire, giving needful informations to get to our second stopp at the Kruger Gate and our very early check out. We can highly recommend this beautiful place!

In our opinion, the best Hoedspruit has to offer. Maybe not the poshest in the town, but a great vibe, lovely staff, excellent food (I had the best T-bone I've had in a long time) and incredible value. Maroela is under new management now, and they plan to put on a cocktail list - one of the new barmen is a mixologist - so we cannot wait to see how it looks when we return next year.

This is definitely the place to go for an outing! We were a group of 16 today and our waiter, Tinashe, didn't miss a beat. Got every single order correct, waiting time was good, he even managed to separate our orders from the mail bill. Will be back for sure!!

We had breakfast here during our stay, best flat bread breakfast I have ever had and my husband said his bagel was also the best bagel he has ever had, not overly bready and very tasty! The owners are friendly, everything is made fresh, the wait staff are attentive! To account for shortage in supply they have a grown a lot of their own herbs and veg. Really can recommend!

An absolute gem of a restaurant - the food is incredible; deliciously plated, cooked to perfection, a treat for your tastebuds! Try the aubergine open sandwich and litchi fro-yo - phenomenal. The setting is lovely, with greenery everywhere and the winter sun warming your back. The staff are friendly and helpful, willing to go the extra mile for your dietary requirements. We stopped here for lunch and everything was delicious. My family loved the spaghetti bolognese, danni burger, smoked salmon salad, and mac and cheese balls. I had the falafel bowl with an iced rooibos tea—so good. Sitting outside was great, and the atmosphere really added to the experience.

Loved my dinner here so much I came back for lunch as well! I am a vegetarian, and there was enough interesting choices. I loved the aubergine open sandwich with home made bread and the falafel bowl. Nice vibe, good staff and owners came by to have a chat.

Ordered the delicious well know bacon, chicken and mushroom salad was always a big bowl and delicious salad sadly salad was much smaller and lots of lettuce on bottom and less of the rest on top Waiter was friendly and helpful. Avos was a bit brown on bottom not very tasteful.

18 04 2025 Cold Food, Incomplete Order, Missing Ingredients & Inconsistency We dined at Spur in Hoedspruit on 18 April 2025 as a group of eight. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, our experience was far from satisfactory. We decided to try the new **Nachos Quesadilla**, which is described as a tortilla filled with nacho chips, salsa, sticky cheese, chunky cottage cheese, and guacamole. Seven of us ordered it hot, while one opted for mild, along with an additional starter. When the food arrived, seven quesadillas were served along with the starter. Five minutes later, when we pointed out that one was missing, the waitress initially hesitated, claiming all had been delivered. After physically counting, she realized the mistake and placed a new order. Upon comparison, the mild quesadilla appeared to have a generous filling, while the others were noticeably thin. Additionally, the nacho chips in all of them were soft rather than crunchy, which was disappointing. Mine was missing cheese, and when I informed the waitress, she took it back, only to return the same quesadilla with cheese added instead of preparing a fresh one. The tortilla was in poor condition and looked unappetizing. A few minutes later, the manager came to apologize. When I pointed out that merely adding cheese and reheating the same quesadilla was not a proper solution, he initially laughed it off but changed his tone when he realized I was serious. He offered to make a new one, but I declined. Beyond this, there was noticeable inconsistency in the appearance of all the starters, and the fillings varied significantly. Most disappointing, the nachos inside lacked the expected crunch. While we paid the full bill and left, this experience was far from what one expects from Spur. I visit a lot of Spurs. In every one of them the staff sings Happy Birthday to customers. At Silver wings they got a boombox, on full volume. It really feel like eardrums want to pop when they switch it on with birthday song for client.

Great place with nice vibe succulent meals and with a very rich menu and a variety to choose from,you choose your fish and the portion that you want,friendly staff but prepare to spend deeply in your pocket coz they are pricey...the down part was the toilet 🚻 I was shocked they were too tiny and dirty...

Waited 5mins then left. All open tables were still dirty, only 1 waiter available that we saw in that time, having words with the person cleaning. Spur, do better please

This was an absolutely abysmal experience! The ice cream tasted pretty bad, the chocolate sauce was old and congealed and the nuts tasted so old and disgusting I could not get the taste out my mouth...it lingered. The service was terrible and the cleanliness was not up to scratch! I think I paid nearly R200 for a coffee and two ice creams, I believe it was the extra concealed chocolate sauce that brought the price up... Thoroughly disappointing!

Waitress was friendly and announced the specials, then came back and said it was no longer on special. Vegetables were cold but did not send it back for obvious reasons

The location is very good if you are searching for a place to have a peaceful rest. The rooms are beautiful and clean. The staff is very friendly.

I want to add another “L” to the Lazy Leopard Lodge…Luxury! We had a lovely stay at LLL. The estate is open to wildlife that walk around freely through the garden. The sounds of the bushveld at night…amazing! With all the luxuries you would expect, it is a lovely way to experience the bush.

Stayed at the LLL in 2021. Love the area! An amazing stay with friendly hosts. Luxury lodges are 'a Pound a dozen' but the Lazy Leopard Lodge takes this a step further by offering more than just luxury. If you love books, great conversations, the african bush LITERALLY on your doorstep a stones throw from Kruger then this is THE place for you.

A Great escape from the "Rat Race"! Totally kitted out with every convenience that one could think of. From a private pool and Lapa with Firepit, to air conditioning throughout, a real bonus, in an area that can often see temperatures soaring above 40 degrees Celcius, as was the case yesterday! The lodge has 3 bedrooms, one of which is en-suite with a full bath room and the bonus of having a double (His and Hers) outdoor shower. Something my Wife and I had heard about, but never experienced firsthand till this morning! Wow! Fantastic! The other two rooms share a bathroom with a toilet and an indoor as well as a singe outdoor shower as well! Jenny is also a fantastic hands-on host, despite living far away, is always very responsive to queries. Thank you!

Mawusi Bush Lodge was the perfect getaway for our family of four. If you are looking for a place to unwind and connect with nature, this is the place for you. Nestled in the heart of South Africa's bushveld, Mawusi Bush Lodge is a tranquil retreat that offers both luxury and relaxation. The lodge is situated in a private game reserve, which offers a unique and unforgettable experience. The complete immersion in nature, combined with the lodge's top-notch amenities, makes for an unforgettable stay. The lodge offers various accommodations such as the Luxury Suites, Executive Suites, and the self-catering Villa. We stayed in one of the self-catering Villas, which was perfect for us. Our villa was clean, spacious, and had a stunning view of the bushveld. The villa had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, including a fully equipped kitchen, a lounge area with a fireplace, a dining area, and a private deck with a braai. This was great because we could have a family braai while taking in the beauty of our surroundings. The villa also had two bedrooms, each with their bathroom en suite, making it perfect for a family of four. The lodge's facilities were impressive. The pool area was our favorite, with a large pool and a beautiful deck. This was the perfect spot for us to relax and enjoy the African sun. The lodge also had a beautiful garden area with a boma, where we enjoyed our dinners under the stars. The lodge also had a game room that was perfect for our girls to play during the hot afternoons. Cathy and Rodney, the hosts, were absolutely amazing. They made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived until the day we left. They were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay. They were always available to answer our questions and gave us some great recommendations on things to do and places to visit in the area. We felt like we were part of their family, and this made our stay even more special. During our stay, we took part in some of the amazing activities that the lodge offers. One of our favorites was the game drive. We got to see some of the amazing creatures that call the reserve home, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. We also went on a fantastic bushwalk where we got up close and personal with some of the smaller creatures, such as insects and reptiles. The lodge also offers birdwatching, fishing, and spa treatments, which we didn't have time to try out, but I am sure they are equally great. Overall, Mawusi Bush Lodge exceeded our expectations in every way possible. It was the perfect family getaway, and we had an unforgettable time. This was all thanks to Cathy and Rodney, who made our stay incredibly special. Their hospitality and warmth were unparalleled and made our stay that much better. We can't wait to come back to Mawusi Bush Lodge and experience all the lodge and the area have to offer. The place was absolutely clean , refreshing had soo much fun when we stayed there (5-9 Aug 2022).. it will most be our new holiday spot every year. The owners have really expressed their love for this property and their passion to provide their guests with a clean and comfortable accommodation be it overnight or longer. The view from the room in the morning is gorgeous. We had a lovely warm shower and restful sleep. The kitchen facilities are what you would normally expect in your own home. A great place to spend a relaxing few days.

Rod and Cathy were such great hosts, we received a warm welcome with wine and snacks prepared for us. The place is so clean and very beautiful, the atmosphere is very calming and one would wish to stay there a little longer... From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the sheer beauty of the house and its outstanding location. The lodge itself is an absolute masterpiece—beautifully decorated, luxurious, and designed to blend seamlessly with its natural surroundings. One of the highlights was the incredible wildlife that visited the garden daily. Watching dwarf mongooses scurry around while relaxing by the pool was an experience in itself. The lodge is set within a wildlife estate where you can walk or cycle freely, encountering giraffes, zebras, duikers, and an array of other wildlife—a truly unique and immersive experience. The owners, Dennis and Anouk, have another property nearby and couldn’t have been more welcoming or helpful, ensuring our stay was perfect from start to finish. Jackie, our host, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay special. She also arranged a private chef experience that was absolutely to die for! The lodge’s location is ideal, being close enough to Kruger National Park for unforgettable day trips where we saw hippos, rhinos, and elephants. Hoedspruit itself has a fantastic selection of restaurants and bars, set in charming shopping areas, offering plenty of dining and entertainment options. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay, and without a doubt, we will be returning. What an AMAZING place to stay while in Hoedspruit!!! The Villa is just as beautiful as the pictures and videos we’ve seen before we booked. You’ll have a wonderful stay in this luxury, beautiful, well equipped, and extremely comfortable villa. Anouk and Dennis do a perfect job on making sure the guests enjoy their time, very responsive, organized and always whiling to make great recommendations – we had two magnificent experiences referred from them (a perfect Safari tour and a wonderful diner at the villa) You’ll never forget your Ubuntu experience, the sunsets, the animals that come to the property while you’re in the pool, the coffee on the observation deck and specially the bike rides around the estate surrounded by zebras, giraffes, wildebeest and plenty of other wild animals. One of those once in a lifetime experience is waiting for you. We made Ububtu our home for a few nights and we will never forget how special our experience was. Looking forward to comeback!

I want to shout wow wow wow from the rooftops!! I don’t even know where to start with this amazing Villa, so I suppose I will start from the start. The message I got from Anouk (host) when she read on my Instagram that my luggage hadn’t made it. The message read “what size are you? We will go and get you some toiletries, underwear and a t-shirt so you are comfortable until your luggage arrives”. That set the tone for the rest of the trip. No detail too small, always going above and beyond and as a result I had a fantastic stay. The villa is everything you could want and more. Anouk and Denis have thought of every detail. It is beautiful, it is comfortable and best of all wildlife is always walking past the window! I enjoyed sitting on the deck working and being visited by duiker and warthog and mongoose. The town of Hoedspruit is also great. So much to do, really friendly locals and great restaurants. I’m genuinely considering making it my home one day! Thank you so much for such a lovely stay!

I stayed at the Villa for 4 nights and fully enjoyed it. It’s a magnificent place where you can do plenty of nice activities including horse riding, walking safaris, drive to Kruger for a day visit or go on a game drive at close by reserves. It really is the perfect place to unwind or even to work from (remotely) if needed and possible. I had a little grey duiker visiting me at the pool and could watch plenty of birds taking their bath from the Terrasse. If you go for a walk on the estate you will probably spot plenty of game, such as giraffes, zebras, waterbucks, impala, warthogs, tortoises, kudus, duikers and a wide variety of beautiful birds. You can walk around in the wilderness area on your own if you are comfortable enough. During the night you shouldn’t miss to look into the dark sky with plenty of its stars from the deck next to the Villa, it’s offering gorgeous views. The Villa is fully equipped with all what’s needed and the decoration is very unique and quite amazing! I surely didn’t want to leave this place after 4 nights and hope to be able to come back! Thanks a lot Dennis & Anouk for all your help, guidance and the delicious dinner, it was all a fabulous experience and I hope to meet you two soon again. Send you much love, Janine

What can I say, Probably the most beautiful place we've ever stayed in and peaceful is an understatement. I struggling to share this place with anyone as it's beyond stunning and I really want to keep it a secret! You'll realise you won't want to be playing music or watching TV but to simply relax, chill, read books whilst watching and listening to the wildlife around you. Ubuntu has a Super King bed, aircon (in bedrooms), stunning bathrooms, outdoor shower also! The kitchen is fully kitted, Laundry room, swimming pool, sun loungers and towels etc etc. I could bore you to tears with 'incredible this and incredible that'. The viewing deck has a lovely breeze and we spent many hours up there with binoculars or having dinner in the evening. DO hire a car as you need one. Anouk & Dennis were absolutely incredible Hosts. The love that's been put into this incredible place is second to none and to be able to stay here, was an honour. Please look after Ubuntu with the love it deserves. This was the best holiday I've ever had but please don't tell anyone :) Clare and Glenn (50's and now totally at one with nature)

I highly recommend Ubuntu Luxury Villa. The spacious design, viewing deck, swimming pool and outdoor showers are an exceptional value add. The property is well equipped and we loved the comfortable furniture, in particular on the veranda. The surrounding wilderness meant we had lovely bird and animal sightings, it is the perfect spot to zone out, relax and enjoy the African tranquility.

Vanuit Bushglam zijn zeer veel diverse tours/safari’s te ondernemen.Er ligt een mapin het huis die meer dan volledig alles beschrijft wat er te zien en te doen is in de omgeving. Dit is een huis wat wij iedereen kunnen aanraden als men in Hoedspuit wil verblijven. Voor jong en oud. Anita en Gerrie maken de vakantie onvergetelijk.

Great place to enjoy a few drinks or have a meal to eat. The food was tasty, service was great and a wonderful atmosphere under big trees. The sound of the trains passing by also seems to add to the atmosphere.

Great place to have lunch on the terrace under the shade of a beautiful mahogany tree. Food is very good, lots of different options to please everyone. Service is a bit long but food is well.worth the wait.

Most of Hoedspruit shut down by 6pm, so we found ourselves just hoping for something, anything, to eat. We set our bar low as we stumbled upon a very simple sign. Sleepers surprised us! The oxtail and pap hit the spot. The Gorgonzola pear avo pizza was amazing. Our kids loved the chicken burger, and our picky toddler devoured the Mac and cheese penne. The wait staff were helpful and attentive. The old train station atmosphere was quaint, and the fireplace was welcoming. We will tell everyone we know!

I went tocthe drive through, but I had to wait again at parking for my order. Other than That, they explained they having issues and order eventually came. Food is good and good service.

I made an order of 22 meals for a group of schools learners. The food handler gave us 18 meals on purpose 😤 It took them 2 full weeks to refund us when they were dishonest with our order in a matter of minutes..... Highly disappointed in their service and how they protected the person who was handling our order; they made it look like we were the ones at fault... I would not recommend this KFC store to anyone. They value their customers for nothing!!!!!!!

They really need competition when it comes to 24 hour service. Most people buy from here because of lack of options similar to kfc. Even after the revamp the service has remained at the lowest. Some workers provide a professional service and sometimes is up to standard by the overall experience is very bad.

Decent KFC. The Ice cream was not working when i was there. Workers are friendly. I was there around 4-5pm on a sunday, and not busy at all.

By FAR the best milkshakes in Hoedspruit! Treat yourself and order a coffee one - absolutely delicious. The food is all great too and the staff are lovely. Definitely worth popping in for a post-game drive breakfast or lunch. Really lovely spot.

Best breakfast ive ever had. The toast, bacon and egg were made to perfection. The berry smoothie was made fresh. It was truly delicious and the service was also a great feature. 10/10 absolutely recommend.

Anne’s Cotton Club consistently delivers superb food. We have had many breakfasts and lunch, and I have never been served a meal that is not really good. Today we had lamb bredie with mash or polenta.

Sublime food in a serene setting. Focused seasonal menu offers enough choice. The Sunday rare roast beef was a traditional plate prepared by a clearly expert hand and the chicken and ham pie as pretty as it was delicious.

Breakfast at most lodges in the area are fairly common so we decided to try Anne's Colton Club for something different. We ordered the corn fritters with crispy bacon and the mushroom bruschette. Highly reccomended.
