Krugersdorp in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Krugersdorp, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Krugersdorp appeals to visitors for its access to the Cradle of Humankind, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for important hominid fossil discoveries and attractions like the Sterkfontein Caves and Maropeng Visitor Centre. Nearby nature reserves, including the Rhino and Lion Nature Reserve and the Wonder Cave, offer game viewing, dramatic limestone formations and classic Highveld scenery. In town, you’ll find remnants of its gold-mining past, historic churches and civic buildings that reflect late-19th- and early-20th-century architecture. Its location on the western edge of Johannesburg also makes it a practical base for exploring the wider Gauteng region.
With favorites like Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden, Silverstar Casino, and Saddlewoods Steak Ranch, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Café Vigour Silverstar and Saddlewoods Steak Ranch so you can get the best taste of Krugersdorp while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden offers a tranquil natural setting with picnic areas, birdwatching opportunities, and scenic trails surrounded by indigenous plants and wildlife. During winter, visitors can marvel at the towering aloe species and the blooming Hypoestes Aristata. The garden features a Geological trail showcasing stunning proteas like Protea roupelliae and Silver Mountain Sugarbush.
We visited today, a Thursday. It was so quiet and peaceful. The gardens are immaculate and so well tended. The cafe served good food, reasonably priced, and the toilets were very clean. We saw the Black eagles and other birds and thoroughly enjoyed our day. Next time, we will come in a Tuesday when it's free for pensioners. A great day. Highly recommended for walking, birding and gentle relaxation.

This has to be one of the best national parks in Gauteng. It's very scenic and has a diverse array of flowers and indigenous trees and shrubs. Awesome place for walks and picnics with friends and family. I was fortunate to visit during the Rose Fest concert and I loved the atmosphere here. Will be visiting again soon :)
Sibusiso S — Google review
Great place to visit to escape from the hustle and busy lifestyle in joburg. People enjoyed themselves; having picnics on the grass areas. Waterfall was breathtaking. We had cheesecake and coffee at the restaurant. I would recommend this place without any reservation.
Ulric J — Google review
We followed the paths through the lawns and aloes and then the waterfall just appeared, clean white water dropping into the gorge with that steady, soothing roar. We found a patch of shade, kicked off our shoes, and let the afternoon drift. Every few minutes someone would point out something small: sunbirds in the flowers, dragonflies over the stream, a glimpse of the Verreaux’s eagles circling the cliff. It’s an easy place to slow down. Short trails for a leg-stretch, benches where you actually want to sit, and space for kids to run without feeling crowded. We shared a simple picnic, took a few photos by the falls, and left feeling like we’d been out of the city for hours—calmer, lighter, and already planning the next visit.
Bradley S — Google review
Went hiking at Walter Sisulu with my friends and it was amazing! The trail was fun, the views were beautiful, and the whole place felt so peaceful. Definitely a great spot to unwind and enjoy nature!
Mpho — Google review
Very beautiful and clean garden, that is peaceful and tranquil nature. Wheelchair friendly, paved path ways also allow disabled people to be part of nature. Very interesting and variety of bird life. Perfect for family picnic. Thanks for awesome family Sunday.
Gerhardus V — Google review
Lovely place to visit. Although one must take away your own litter as there no bins, sadly there are always people who leave litter behind. There were one or two places amongst the plants that had papers lying there and it hadn’t been removed. Restaurant was okay, our meal wasn’t bad but nothing much to rave about. Overall a great place for a day visit
Lorraine S — Google review
What an absolutely splendid natural park—a must-visit for nature lovers. Artworks throughout the well-maintained landscape highligh the loving energy of this place, with a majestic waterfall. The grounds are very well maintained and exceptionally beautiful, clean.

Fun & Games
Silverstar Casino in Krugersdorp, South Africa is a luxurious entertainment venue that offers traditional gambling games, live shows, eateries, and a day spa. The Soulstice Day Spa provides a range of pampering treatments including facials, massages, hand and foot care, as well as relaxing packages like the Pure Bliss treatment. The casino's impressive design and architecture create an inviting atmosphere for visitors to enjoy gaming options, live shows, restaurants with diverse dining choices catering to various tastes.
The only casino in the west of Johannesburg, situated in Krugersdorp. Not only is a casino but there’s a couple of stores and restaurants that make it somewhat a shopping centre. Great outdoor dining area with water fountain. There’s a huge indoor gaming area and bowling
Lesego M — Google review
Silver Star Casino is not great. You pay 20 Rabd for parking but its a massive waste because the casino as a whole is really not great. While it offers an array of restaurants the service at most restaurants is poor and not the best standard. Its crowd climate is rather dry because there isnt much happening at this Casino. The casino as a whole feels outdated and filthy! The air smells like a smoking lounge- this is all you smell when walking from the strangely built food court to the exit. The only kids entertainment would Spur and the water fountains but really not a family centered space. I don't think we would visit this casino again. [Pictures attached are of the elevator-which looks like it has not been cleaned or maintained in a while]
Rosslinda V — Google review
The Hotel is great for conferencing and accommodation. The food needs improvement 3/5 and the staff are not friendly or helpful. The venue is safe and clean. there is the Casino for entertainment. Small and quiet environment. Overall good venue but can do better on meals.
Diana R — Google review
A good place to go when you need to get away from everyday life. It was a pleasant experience with a variety of activities to keep you busy. There are smokers and non-smoker areas. It may be hard to decide where to get your meal from as there are a lot of options to choose from including an all you can eat buffet. Opening times of some of the shops depends on the season and you can get a rewards card for free. Having this gives you access to covered parking.
Michael S — Google review
Great and in a great environment, I went there for the one night with Zonke , Ntando and David Mashabela. I found a hidden gem that we are not used to. Great and lovely place with all in one. Those who love casino slots can find them there, food outlets are there with great food types to choose from. Then the hotel and great water fountains help relax the mind.
Jabulane M — Google review
Looks like it could be pumping, but it's very quite when we went. Be aware that the Magic Company and 10 pin bowling are being renovated and are not available. We only found this out when we were already there (went there for this) and there is nothing on the website. Silverstar marketing, take note to update your site.

Not bad casino. I love the choices of restaurants especially Hussar Grill. I love the 10 pin bowling. And feel like a kid again at the arcade. Very nice for a day out with things to do.

Cafe
Nestled at the entrance of a hotel and casino, Café Vigour Silverstar offers a delightful bistro-style dining experience that is hard to resist. With an open-plan kitchen, diners can enjoy the spectacle of their meals being crafted right before their eyes. The menu boasts an array of mouthwatering dishes, from succulent lamb shanks and tender fillet steak to vibrant salads and unique butter-infused options.
Good service, started off a bit rough but the waiter eventually came through. Food was very good, fresh, hot and good flavour. Value for money as well.
Jason M — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious—we had the chicken schnitzel and crumbed chicken wings, and both were cooked to perfection. The flavors were rich, the seasoning was spot on, and the presentation was beautiful. A special mention goes to the chips—thick, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside, making them the perfect side to an already amazing meal. The atmosphere was great, and the service was friendly and efficient, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable.
Patsy K — Google review
Went there on Sunday for a family lunch. We were about 10 people and the only people in the restaurant at the time. The service was terrible. We ordered 2 standard milkshakes and they brought 1 in a normal glass and 1 in a kiddies glass insisting that they were both standard even though you could clearly see that the one was almost double the size of the other. The menu's are in horrible condition, dirty, old and broken. They brought the food all at different times. I waited 45 minutes for my food after the first person at our table received theirs. Most people had finished eating their meals when my food arrived. They got my order wrong as well. Their food are generally nice and good value for money, but after this experience, we will never eat there again.
Annelize K — Google review
Saturday 2 Aug approximately 11h30. Waited at door to be seated, no one came. Found a table, between other tables with dirty dishes and leftover food. Sat down. No one came. Got up, asked one of the waiters if the restaurant is open. We left . Poor poor service. Not sure where the manager on duty and other waiters were. Not worth visiting.
Anemarie S — Google review
Place was nice. The staff great. The food tasted delicious. They just need to change their butcher. The meat was so tuff I swear the animal died of old age.
Garth H — Google review
Absolute pathetic service. Waited over an hour for my food. My entire party finished their meal and mine still hasn't arrived. Only arrived after I made an issue of it. Sun international should get rid of this pathetic place
AndreJ B — Google review
FOOD amazing / SERVICE slow ... Delicious cheese burger would highly recommend. Nice variety of dishes on the menu and they have daily specials. However don’t go hunger because the wait for food is long. The location isn’t ideal as I would go more often if it wasn’t in a casino. The cleanliness could be improved as you could see the tables was sticky from previous guests
Leani S — Google review
We went for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon. Restaurant was empty, our table and one other. Service was appalling. We all had fish and chips. Food was fair in taste, quantity and price. Based on terrible service we won't return neither recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting Silverstar Casino.

Restaurant
Saddlewoods Steak Ranch is a top-notch eatery that offers the best steak, expertly cooked to your liking, and provides great value for your money. This go-to restaurant ensures a delightful dining experience with its delicious menu options. It is praised for its homely ambiance, tucked away from bustling shops. The food served here is of outstanding quality and reasonably priced. The friendly waiter named David delivers excellent service.
Pro: Like the concept of choosing your own piece of meat. Gets busy but can still have a conversation. Price compare to other restuarants are well priced. Cons: waiters could make more often turns at the tabel especially if drinks are finnished.
Andrew M — Google review
It's not as if this place is bad, it was actually the contrary, just sadly there was no wow factor, everything was.... OK Having said that the price for steak was extremely cost effective, almost to say anyone could go there and enjoy a steak and not stress that their card would decline. And to be fair I would definitely go back. But it's not one of those elite steak houses with speciality dishes.
Steven M — Google review
They have a good atmosphere. When they get busy, the service is slow but our waiter was friendly and helpful. The food was really good. Unfortunately the steaks were not great. They were chewy and tough. The onion rings are AMAZING!
Nicolette S — Google review
Awesome place to chill and have a decent, affordable meal. Choose your cut of meat and your side. Burgers are good too. Bar. Wall mounted TV playing the latest or live sports. My only gripe is that there are NO condiments exept tomato sauce on the tables. "Some Tabasco or Chilli would be nice"...or should I bring my own next time. Staff are friendly and helpful, just a tad bit slow when it's busy. Other than that I will highly recommend and return.
Joziphoto_za — Google review
If you going to eat steak then good restaurant to go to. I had the chicken R175 and that does not include any sides so with chips and onion rings was over R200 chicken was very dry did not enjoy it. Milk shakes were not cold I dont know how you do that if using ice cream. Otherwise Steaks were good and reasonably priced. Service was good
Clint C — Google review
We had lunch today and the service was very good. I chose my piece of meat and it was juicy and flavourful. The salad was larger than expected and the beer ice cold. My wifes chicken schnitzel was generous and tasty. We decided to try this restaurant for the first time and had a good time.
Duwayne P — Google review
Had heard a lot of good things about this restaurant, but I was a little disappointed with the experience. Service was very slow, despite it being fairly quiet and the steaks were ok, but not great. They have good lunch specials, but perhaps at those prices there is no other way than to compromise quality.
Thomas M — Google review
Had so many great meals there but my last steak (300g Rump) was almost inedible. It was also not the steak i picked. Maybe picking your own steak is just a gimmick...not sure. Told the waiter who promised to speak to the manager but nobody ever attended to us ....disappointed to say the least.

A awesome un crowded mall with ample parking and facilities. A beautiful park like front that is peaceful.
Brian H — Google review
The mall offers a great variety of shops and is perfect for general shopping needs. However, it could really use more restaurants or food outlets to enhance the overall experience, especially for those wanting to grab a meal or snack while shopping.
Jacques C — Google review
Great shopping centre to use. Ample parking. Access to public transport as well as e-hailing. It has a gym and an amphitheatre where there are occasional sports viewings. Great selection of shops from various categories, including restaurants, banks and an foreign exchange bureau. All round practicality! Aesthetics on 100!
David B — Google review
keywest shopping mall is a great spot for families - the kids' play park is a hit with my son. The mall's size is just right, and it's clean. Good range of stores, WiFi, and helpful security and car guards. Bathroom facilities are good too. However, the skatepark area can attract some rough crowds, and the beggars can be a bit much. Also, a shame about the dam area - it's pretty but not safe to walk around due to the state it's in. Overall, it's a good mall, but could use some extra attention in certain areas

It was amazing. Did the rope park first, The instructor was so nice and helpful. He understood that you have fear of heights and encourages you the whole way through. One of the slides I recommend that females be careful of as you can get hurt by your swim suit. A giant swimming pool that is 1 meter deep is a great place to chill. Plenty of braai areas and seating areas. Great bathroom where you have a changing area and toilets.

Really enjoyed my time there. Definitely would recommend buying tickets in advance to reduce the frustration of waiting in lines. Arrive as early as possible so that you can enjoy everything there is to try.

Great slides and rides with friendly staff. However, from dilapidated buildings and pools to burning (smoking) rubbish, this is unfortunately not a place I would recommend. See pictures for reference. Management, if you want this place busy and booming, clean the entire park, plant, and maintain a beautiful lawn where people can sit. Ensure all your pools are in working condition. Clean all the tables at least at the beginning of each day. Don't burn rubbish, rather clear all the rubbish. Demolish old buildings as it's an eye sore and safety concern.

Most definitely delivers... So far I'd rate it the best Waterpark in the country, different slides and forever improving facilities, can't wait for an opening this Saturday. Tickets are available online and on the gate but opt for buying them online.
Jafta M — Google review
We had the great experience with my family. The over seers are always at our disposal. There are a lot of stations that accommodate toddlers and adults. No injuries because the people advices us how to operate each slide. I loved it so much and would recommend for a family getaway.
Clara M — Google review
This place has so much potential. Great water rides and amazing facilities. Only problem is that not enough people come here to support all the potential rides and businesses. HR lady at the gate was also rude when we entered and very little direction on how the park works. The kids loved the rides that worked and had a blast. Price was a bit steep at R250 a person. Maybe a R150 per person and annual cards available so you can go regularly
Anthony M — Google review
Lovely, mostly water activities. There are a lot of slides. It was clean and neat. It also have plenty of restaurants to eat from. I love how they sell african food: hard body chicken, tripe and cow head with all other different preferences. We had a great day and it was not busy so kids could repeat the rides as many times as they wanted.
Olga M — Google review
Enjoyed our time Wasn't our first so we knew what to expect. Just was disappointed becos the wave pool only worked at the set times, we couldn't stay there even the waves weren't on. We were asked to leave each time the waves intervals happened.
Pinkz P — Google review
All in all it was a great experience, especially for the children. We went on a day when it wasn't too full, which was perfect. However, there aren't enough tubes to accommodate everyone. The venue was not even full, yet there was a shortage of tubes. The queue for the slides that takes 4 people per tube was so long and so slow, just to find out at the top that there were only 4 tubes available for both slides. The experience would be considerably better if there were more than enough tubes to go around for everyone.

Nestled in the heart of Mogale City, Cradlestone Mall is a stunning architectural gem that offers an exciting shopping experience. Conveniently located at the intersection of Hendrik Potgieter and the N14/R28 highways, this vibrant mall boasts around 160 diverse stores and eateries. We went to this Mall on a Monday afternoon, so you will see it is not busy at all, the Mall itself has a wonderful variety of shops and a very good atmosphere. I do believe that it gets very busy during the weekend's . The photos that I am posting with this review are only a very small sample of the magnitude of shops in this Mall. It is huge. Definitely worth a visit.

The Sterkfontein Caves, located an hour from Johannesburg, are a significant part of the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site and have yielded remarkable fossil finds. These caves have been the site of major discoveries in paleoanthropology, including the famous Mrs. Ples and Little Foot skeletons. The fossils found here date back to 1.5 to 3.5 million years ago, providing valuable insights into human evolution.
We drove there hungry... Bad idea. The restaurant advertised on Google Maps is still in development. Instead of steak, we were given a hard hat and a scientifically cool cave guide. He talked a lot, but unfortunately, the acoustics were more suited to a small group; there were thirty of us standing in the semi-darkness. At least the caves made up for it. Vast subterranean chambers, ancient waterways, all full of mysterious crevices. Among the remains found here was Australopithecus africanus, one of the first to dare to explore the area upright. After an hour and a half through narrow passages and small and large caves, we stood outside covered in dust and at least knew why you should never complain about not having enough space in your own home. My daughter was with us and was surprisingly quiet, which in itself is a miracle of nature. All in all, a worthwhile journey into the history of the earth.

There’s quite a bit of walking and stairs, but it’s absolutely worth it — the caves are rich in history and very interesting to explore. The guided tour lasts about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes, and the guides are excellent: knowledgeable, professional, and with just the right touch of humour to keep everyone engaged. The premises are well organised, with plenty of parking and a strong focus on safety. There’s also a small shop for coffee, tea, and snacks, as well as a museum to explore before or after your tour. Tickets can be purchased at the entrance, but it’s best to book online in advance, especially over weekends when slots fill quickly. Group sizes are limited, which makes for a more personal and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended for a family outing or anyone interested in South Africa’s incredible natural and archaeological heritage.

I visited the caves today with my Grade 5 robotics group as part of a research project and WOW, we were blown away. The staff and management were fantastic and so accommodating, they went above and beyond to make our experience super special and memorable. I would like to thank Job, Boiki, Thobeka and Andrew for this amazing experience. If I could give you 100 stars I would! Proudly South African! P.S. the tour and facilities are of the highest quality!

A very cool experience walking into the depths of an ancient cave and old limestone mine, with the expertise of a guide. Be mindful there are stretches with uneven grounds and crawl spaces. I really enjoyed the visit with an underground lake, grottos, and bits of nature and history in the Cradle of Humankind.

Tour was a blast. There should be better information regarding cave tour as we had elderly people in the group. Some battled during exit of cave. Be prepared to squat, bend, drag on your bottom, don't go with your party suit as not going to be same color when you're done. Hard hats was a blessing. Also should you be an asthma patient please carry your inhaler. Air and steep inclines are what you look forward to. All in all, great experience.

Amazing tour and experience. Gift was an amazing tour guide with a lot of knowledge and information. Definitely recommend this to anyone l who likes to do unique experiences but bare in mind it would be a 5 in activity rating as there are a lot of stairs and small spaces but definitely going to book the extended tour

Very educational. Requires a bit of crouching and squatting, even a short bear crawl for me during a segment of the tour.. but doable if you have some level of basic fitness. if you are not mobile or flexible dont do it.

The University of Witwatersrand, a Top University in SA, took over the management of this important world heritage site. Since then the displays have improved a lot but still have errors and mistakes (eg. black algae for cyanobacteria, which are prokaryotes and thus not algae, and are blue - green, "cyan" and not black!). Our guide through the cave had no clue what he was talking about, gave hardly any information. No word about the rocks themselves, their age or their important role in Earth history! There are many geological features in and outside the cave that laymen can see and understand easily but he did not point out any of them. When I tried to teach him, he was not interested. A typical behaviour of poorly educated local guides in South Africa. We saw a small rinkhals cobra (scientific name: Hemachatus haemachatus) at the exit of the cave, he insisted on it to be a pofadder! This world's famous place for human history, but also geology, was nearly deserted and on top of it, it had no water, toiletts and coffeeshop, disfunctional!

If I could give this Steers 0 stars I would ESPECIALLY FOR THE STAFF & QUALITY!!! Their service is the absolute worst!!! They are rude and disagree with the customer!! The quality and quantity is dependent on the staff on the day!! I WILL NEVER IN MY LIFE STEP FOOT NEAR THAT STEERS AGAIN!! I WOULD RATHER DIE OF HUNGER!!! We've supported this Steers for years but today that ends!! We ordered a large bacon & cheesy chips which we've ordered 100 times before but tonight we got a medium and if the cheese on the chips is equivalent to a single sachet then it's ALOT!! So goodbye steers!! I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS STEERS AGAIN!! DESPICABLE!!!!!!!

Ordered the Panda for 4… burgers were okay. Except that 2 burgers had 2 patties and 2 only one. Not sure what it is supposed to be. This comes with s large portion of chips. Large? I can’t consider this as large… also the chips were cooked in old oil. Not lekker at all.

Nestled in the picturesque surroundings of Krugersdorp, Makiti Family Restaurant & Waffle House is a delightful destination that you won't want to overlook. This inviting eatery greets visitors with its charming wooden decor and serene water feature, creating a cozy ambiance perfect for enjoying meals with loved ones. The menu offers an array of delicious options, including standout veggie and beef burgers that have garnered rave reviews. Don't miss out on their famous Malva Waffle—ideal for sharing among friends!
One of the best veggie burgers I’ve ever had, and there were no complaints about the beef burger from the table. Price wasn’t too bad and splitting the delicious Malva Waffle between three people was perfect. There is a very big play area if you have kids and nice indoor and outdoor service. It wasn’t a super busy day but still very nice when service is quick and the food doesn’t take long to arrive. Would definitely recommend as a stop of the way home from Sterkfontein Caves or Maropeng.

Wonderful place, I loved how unpretentious it is. Even the staff are easygoing and genuine. It feels like going back to the early 2000s. The menu is simple, the portions are filling. Great place to go to if you want a delicious meal that tastes like it could be made at home, at a good price and you feel like you could come here every day. It's family-friendly, and the bathrooms are clean, with original furniture. Coming here was just so relaxing. I loved it. They host small events at the restaurant as well. There's lots of parking and sitting space.

We stopped for a quick lunch as we had a kids party to attend. The place wasn't as busy as expected and quickly found a seat. It has a very nice play area close to where we were seated. We also had another stop, so I ordered a plain waffle and my wife the waffle stick. The waffle didn't taste fresh and almost as if it was frozen and just reheated in a microwave. It's not crispy and fresh at all. The waffle stick was covered in caramel but also stale in taste. Also, although they weren't busy, the waiter was also absent for a long time at an end, and we waited very long between drinks and food. Really need to pick up on a lot of areas to improve.

We really enjoyed our visit here. The food was delicious, and prices are affordable. Great playground for younger children. The restaurant is located within beautiful nature and surrounded by trees. It's really a beautiful sight.

We went on a Monday but on Google maps it shows that it's closed on Monday. Not sure why. We almost missed the opportunity to have some delicious waffles. My husband ordered a pizza which he thoroughly enjoyed and I had some savory waffles. My only problem was that the Waffle itself was sweet and I feel like maybe the batter could have been a bit more savory as well. If you into sweet and savory, this won't be a problem for you. We also has a sweet Waffle, the malva Waffle. It was my first time tasting this but oh my goodness. It was sweet, creamy, delicious. I'd go back again just to have that Waffle. The restaurant was quite empty tho so hard to comment on the atmosphere. I did like that they have a big play area for kids. That's a bonus.
Haseena C — Google review
Attended for a function, but this place has some seriously delicious waffles. I had the "bacon and egg" waffle stack, which is like a sandwich, but only with waffles. I also had a plain full waffle with ice cream, caramel sauce and peppermint crisp. They also have a play area for the kids and a big cage where they have some budgies and bunnies. My only complaint would be that there was a mix up with the bill and ended up waiting a while, before I went to them to rectify the mistake, we are all human and mistakes can be made, but a nice place overall.

Bad Experience at Suzieq's Krugersdorp We went to SuzieQ's for what was supposed to be a rare, fun night out — something we only get to do once a year if we’re lucky. My husband is a friendly, loveable person who always jokes around, compliments people, and gives them a buddy hug. While he was chatting with people, I noticed a man pointing at him from the pool table, talking to others and gesturing in a way that didn’t seem friendly. Moments later, that same man grabbed my friend by the throat (who did absolutely nothing wrong). I immediately stepped in to stop the situation — because if you care about your husband, friends, or family, you protect them!! The rest of the night was ruined. When I approached the bouncers, shocked by what had happened, they told me, “This happens every weekend - same guy.”I couldn’t believe it. If this is a regular occurrence, why is nothing being done? Warnings clearly don’t work — it only takes one wrong move for something tragic to happen or land up in hospital or not alive. Later, I found out that the man involved is apparently friends with the owner and a regular at the venue. I spoke to the owner directly and explained what had happened. His response was dismissive, blaming alcohol and saying that’s why they have bouncers. But the bouncers did nothing when my friend was assaulted!!!! Even more concerning, the man who caused the trouble was removed for only 10 minutes before being allowed back in. If the staff and management know this behavior is recurring, why is it being tolerated???? This is exactly how businesses develop bad reputations and lose customers and close down!!!! We paid to be here like everyone else, and we expected a safe environment where management takes action to protect all patrons — not just their friends. Sadly, we won’t be back, and I hope the owner reconsiders how these situations are handled before something far worse happens. (step 1)

A nice little place to play pool at. There are decent drink specials and a good selection of music gets played. It can, however, sometimes be a bit crowded, especially during weekends. I do want to add that the managers are quick with fixing pool tables when balls get stuck, etc. which is great :)

Disrespectful staff!! Between 19:30 to 23:00 I was served once. If you are a biker you are not welcome , as if they have something against bikers. This place should be shut down and the owners should not be allowed to open a bar again!

Disgraceful Customer Treatment - Will Never Return I am absolutely appalled by the treatment we received at SuzieQ's Restaurant and Music Bar on March 28, 2025, during Dirk van der Westhuizen's performance. Initially, the night was going well-we were enjoying our time, ordering food and drinks, and minding our own business. However, just before 11 PM, the power was cut, leaving the venue in complete darkness. Rather than letting this ruin our evening, my friends and I decided to make the most of it, singing along and keeping the atmosphere lively. Unfortunately, this is when Cindy, the owner, completely lost control. A glass was accidentally broken at a nearby table, and instead of handling the situation professionally, Cindy began aggressively throwing and shoving chairs to make space for cleanup. Her reaction was completely disproportionate, making a scene and visibly lashing out in frustration. As the night continued, Cindy's behavior became even more unhinged. One of my friends, who happens to be a close friend of her son, was joking around (as people do in a bar setting). The noise level in the venue was already high, meaning we had to raise our voices just to hear one another. Cindy then stormed over, screamed at her own child in front of everyone, and proceeded to grab my friend by the arm, shouting profanities in her face. At first, we genuinely thought she was joking, but it quickly became evident that this was a full-blown outburst. Cindy continued to curse, scream, and berate us for "disrespecting" her-while ironically being the most unprofessional and disrespectful person in the room. Then, in an absolutely humiliating display, she shined a light directly in my face and started shouting at me as well, accusing me of laughing at her and "screaming." The irony? She was the only one screaming. Let me be clear: We are regulars at this establishment. For the past three years, we have brought new customers, supported the staff, and treated this venue like a second home. To be treated this way-**as if we were some kind of nuisance, simply for existing in a public space-**is beyond insulting. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Whether Cindy was drunk, in a foul mood, or simply incapable of managing her own establishment professionally, it does not justify verbally abusing paying customers, physically grabbing people, and publicly humiliating guests. I will never return to this venue, nor will I recommend it to anyone else. If this is how SuzieQ's values its loyal customers -by treating them like dirt the moment something doesn't go their way-then it is clear that customer service, loyalty, and basic human decency mean absolutely nothing to them.I will never return to this venue, nor will I recommend it to anyone else. If this is how SuzieQ's values its loyal customers -by treating them like dirt the moment something doesn't go their way-then it is clear that customer service, loyalty, and basic human decency mean absolutely nothing to them. This was, without question, the most degrading, disrespectful, and embarrassing experience I have ever had in a public setting. Avoid this place at all costs.
