This mall is very well maintained with great views and easy accessibility. Directional signs are clear, and even during construction, safety measures are well in place, which is impressive. Cleanliness is top-notch — hats off to the cleaning staff! The food court is kept neat, and tables are sanitized after each use. There's also a wide variety of restaurants offering different cuisines. Families will appreciate the kids' play area, and there are occasional shows and events too. Parking is spacious, but it can still be hard to find a spot during busy hours. The only downside is the unpleasant smell that appears in the evenings or at night — it happens regularly and can be uncomfortable. Hopefully, this can be resolved soon. Overall, a great place to shop, dine, and spend time with family.

My favourite mall in Mauritius. Easy to go to, to navigate and have unique set ups for the food court! The integration with older architecture gives it a sophisticated edge and it superior internal comfort makes it a must go mall for both locals and visitors. Easy to go to go both by private and public transportation!

Bagatelle mall was our favourite mall to visit and shop. It’s very easy to located and parking spaces are plenty. The foods in the area were really great and for shopping it was ideal as well. They have so many varieties of products. Highly recommended for visiting with friends and family.

Bagatelle Mall of Mauritius is a beautiful and relaxing mall. It offers a wide variety of shopping options and plenty of restaurants. Inside, you’ll find delicious Lebanese and Moroccan restaurants, along with popular choices like Nando’s, sushi spots, KFC, and many more. There’s also a nice outdoor seating area. Definitely worth a visit!

This mall has a lovely, cheerful, and inexpensive food court with Chinese, Indian, and Mauritian food. Smartly dressed office ladies come here to enjoy Rs100 lunches (that’s £1.75!). Great views of the local mosque against the mountain backdrop.

Here is a local market located in Quatre Bornes. A range of things are sold here in this market. Fresh fruits and vegetables on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Clothes every other day except Thursdays. You can also buy beef, goat, lamb, pork, cow and chicken meat here mostly on Saturday. Fresh fish market is only on Saturdays. Buying here is cheaper and fresh compared to supermarkets.

Great spot to get your veggies or clothes. Extremely crowded but the best spot to get all your groceries.

Went to the Caudan Arts Center for a show. Plenty of parking. Parking ticketing machine wasn't working but there was assistance at the entrance making it a very smooth process. Beautiful building with good facilities.

We have our monthly BNI meeting there. We meet here every 1st Tuesday of the month. BNI stands for Business Network International We choose it for its parking facility, proximity and affordability. The after meeting's finger food buffet is very good with a nice variety. We also have a welcoming tea or coffee prior to our meeting. We chose the Caudan Arts Center after trying some other conference centers.

Cosy and nice theatre. Seats are on reservation. There is nice bar as well. I would recommended people there who love live shows and live theatres. Some shows are for kids as well.

Very lovely place, really enjoyed the concert. The venue is very modern. Easy parking great experience.

Good place to enjoy a play. The way it's been designed makes you feel close to the stage. Location is easily accessible via Metro Express and there are dining options nearby within the waterfront.

The fort holds a lot of history, but sadly, there’s no information inside to educate visitors about it. There isn’t much to explore within the fort itself - you simply stroll around, enjoy the elevated views, and take pictures. The city of Port Louis looks stunning from up here, offering great photo opportunities of both the city and the fort. Entry is free, and you can park your car right outside before heading in.

The entrance is free, you can walk around the walls of this fortress, but there is not much to do when you arrive. Only the views on Port Louis city and nearby hills are amazing. There is no pernament exhibition and just several cannons show historic importance of this place which now serves only as a viewpoint or parking place. Parking is possible inside/outside of the fortress and It’s also feee.

Named after the wife of King William IV, Queen Adelaide, it offers panoramic views of the city, harbor, and surrounding mountains. We visited Citadelle Fort (Fort Adelaide) on Oct 03 as part of our Port Louis city itinerary, and it was definitely worth the stop! 🏰 Perched atop a hill overlooking the capital city, this 19th-century British fortress offers breathtaking panoramic views of Port Louis, the harbor, and the surrounding mountains ⛰️🌊. The fort, built from black basalt rocks in a Moorish style, has been beautifully preserved and gives a glimpse into Mauritius’ colonial history 🇲🇺. Walking around the fort was a pleasant experience — we admired the old cannons, explored the courtyard, and even checked out the small boutique shops now housed in the former barracks 🛍️. The place has a peaceful vibe, and it’s easy to spend time soaking in the views and taking pictures 📸. Highly recommend visiting in the late afternoon to enjoy the cool breeze and possibly catch a gorgeous sunset over Port Louis 🌅.

The Fort is still intact and, looks majestic. From the roof of the fort one can have 360-degree view of the Port Louis along with the mountains

Overpriced market but still nice to experience and to visit. Port Louis is the home of the largest market, where you can find fresh food items, local dishes, and various handcrafted goods that are useful to locals and serve as souvenirs for tourists. It is always crowded, even during weekdays, as many locals working in Port Louis stop by for a cheap snack. You can find fresh meat, poultry, fish and seafood, as well as veggies, fruits and spices. You can also buy many handcrafted souvenirs and gifts, but keep in mind you must bargain all the time. It's also one of the best places for local street food.

If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of a classic market, you've come to the right place. You'll find fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, and you'll definitely get a good price for your holiday souvenirs. And even shopaholics will find something to their liking here.

Prices are reasonable, and the produce is fresh. Upstairs, there are souvenirs, clothes, and local crafts — some handmade, some more commercial. It’s a good spot to pick up gifts or try local snacks. Expect a bit of noise and hustle, but that’s part of the experience. Vendors are friendly, and a little bargaining is normal. Worth a visit if you want to see everyday Mauritian life up close. Go early to avoid the heat and crowds.

Worth a visit to experience and good variety. Fruit, veg, clothes, food hall, souvenir tat. Winds down from about 4pm. Easy parking across the road by the sea, but can be busy traffic to get there. Be sure to get some alouda and rotis. Also interesting around the bus station

Quite interesting, but really not much different from other large markets. You get the feeling you're being ripped off everywhere. Souvenirs are sometimes offered here for two to three times the price of other sales locations, for example, in Gorges National Park (Gorges Viewpoint) or near Cristal Rock. Additionally it is loud and dirty...but still, if you want to see Port Louis and it is on your way. Do a quick stop and have a view.

The Sea Folks offers a lovely setting with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The environment is calm and pleasant—ideal for a casual outing. The staff were very attentive and caring, which really made the experience more enjoyable. In terms of food, we’d give it a 7 out of 10. It’s not exceptional, but fair and decent overall. A few dishes could use a bit more refinement to match the quality of the service and ambiance. All in all, a nice place if you’re in the area and looking for a comfortable spot to unwind over a meal. With a few improvements to the menu, this could become a real favorite.

Very bad experience with pizza inn st pierre. First of all the cashier was very rude,not even a smile on her face as we have disturbed her by ordering our menu. Staff is not welcoming. Not even a smile nor a greeting. Worst pizza I've eaten in my life. Even Pizza Hut is better. Ordered a chicken & mayo pizza with thin crust. It was horrible. Crust was elastic and partially uncooked. The mayo was almost non-existent. The chicken (i'm not sure if that was really chicken) was not good. Some pieces were uncooked in the middle and burnt outside. I wonder how one can achieve this cuisson. I also witnessed a mix-up in other customers' orders, and they did not even realise their mistake. Very bad, or should I say, a very tasteless experience.

We wanted a 'curry like home: for an evening and found Sitar. The live music was a nice touch, the food was pretty good although the Jalfrezi was more sweet than spicy. I recently had dinner at sitar restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walk in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was flavorful but a little bit salty as per our taste and served in generous portions. Overall, Sitar provided a memorable evening with food food and excellent service and inviting highly recommend it for a date night or any special celebration.

The slowest McDonald's I've ever visited. The staff seemed disengaged, spending more time arguing among themselves than assisting customers. The food was just slightly above average, below the usual McDonald's standard.

Big upgrage in atmosphere with a huge drop in food quality and for some reason.......I was not very welcomed to eat upstairs as a lady approached me to tell me I can't eat after 3pm upstairs.......there was nothing to support this argument besides her words.....I ordered a grand chicken meal with sprite....and got a cold burger with cold fries and for the cherry on top....got seven up instead of sprite with no carbonation even after returning and changing the drink....still got the same results....very disappointing....to see mcdonalds going downhill like that......I hope the company recovers.....otherwise this would be a one way road trip with no possible comeback.....PEACE..✌️🫳

Lovely shopping district. We really enjoyed the indoor craft market, though shop around first, we noticed the same things were 100-200 rupees more in some places than others . Not cheap shopping, but some lovely souvenirs. The umbrellas lining the street are very cool and there are some nice shops. Definitely worth a visit.

A beautiful place to hang out during the day and eat at cafés but for outside tourists just a one time visit for a couple of hours is enough. Apravasi ghat and slavery museum are walking distance , so is the aquarium

Must see if you are in Port Louis. Small but very nice museum about history of Mauritius. There is also the famous stamps Blue Penny and Red Penny. These stamps are lit for 10 minutes every hour. Very interesting things about post history. Highly recommend if you are in Mauricius.

Take the time to go around at least twice as you'll miss things worth seeing on the first circuit. The Malcolm de Chazal exhibition was worth seeing if you like that sort of thing and included in the entrance fee. Not really my taste.

Very little museum about the history of Mauritius and the famous postmarks. These did not impress me, but could be interesting for philatelists.

Very beautiful location with a lot of history showcased. Lots of art and history about Mauritius 🇲🇺 Definitely learnt a lot about Mauritius and it’s history. The arts works are very impress and you will really appreciate it if you are into art 🖼️ There’s also postage stamps on display with loads of information about the Mauritius postal system. Lots of fantastic sculptures to admire as well. You aren’t allowed to take photos so please be aware of this. It’s open from Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays/public holidays. Try to plan your visit for the early part of the day. Entrance is about Rs245 as a tourist.

Great museum to visit even if you are not a stamps guy. Beside the world famous blue and red Mauritius stamp you can visit a nice exhibition on the history of Mauritius. Keep in mind, that the blue Mauritius stamp is only visible for 5 minutes per hour because of conservative reasons. At our visit it was from xx:20 pm to xx:25 pm

Review: Visit one of the last stamps of the Blue penny and seed penny. What makes it so special? The misprint in 1847 includes Post Office on the stamps and was soon changed to Post Paid. For conservation, the originals are illuminated only temporarily. So make sure to inquire about the time, when the stamps are illuminated. Super happy to see the stamps that were a synonymous with the rarest things. I didn't know what I was doing, but was having a blast as a young kid collecting hundreds of stamps. Also, great to learn more about Mauritian history. Foreigners pay almost 6x Mauritian prices

Aapravasi Ghat is seriously something else. It is like stepping back in time to this place where so many people, about half a million, first arrived as indentured laborers. It is fascinating to think that this one spot in Mauritius was the first for the British, and that it totally changed the country. Even though you only see parts of the old buildings, you can just feel the history there. If you are in Mauritius, you absolutely have to go there.

Significant, place to learn about Mauritius & how culture has been shaped due to Slavery in the past. Lots of details photographs & historical articles that anyone can take a look. Located on the bay of Trou Fanfaron, in the capital of Port-Louis, the Aapravasi Ghat is the remains of an immigration depot, the site from where modern indentured labour Diaspora emerged.

Really well done exhibit to accompany the heritage site. It tells the story of the "great experiment" to use indentured labour after slavery was abolished and the conditions that these labours worked under. Would recommend anyone to visit for an hour, but especially Mauritians. Plus, it's free entry.

It's world heritage site at Port Luis in Mauritius. It's in the memory of people taken for the agricultural work from many countries by britishers, wherever they were ruling in early 1800. These workers are responsible for today's prosperous country due to their hard work. Today 4th/ 5th generation of them are well educated, prominent citizens reaching to the posts of even Prime Minister. This memorial is good efforts to show their sacrifices and leading a hard life.

A quiet place for reflection and pondering upon history and our ancestors who came so far in search of work on the sugarcane fields, a unesco world heritage site - it’s maintained very well

Very well maintained museum. One can understand the history of the place and also good old stuff to view there.

Very important part of Mauritian history. The museum explains how the British "Great Experiment" was planned and under which condition indentured labour force, mainly from India, was brought to the island. Well designed exhibition, interesting pictures and maps, a ship model and good descriptions; the visit is definitely worth it!

Nice place to visit. An elegant mosque in the Moorish and Mogolian style with a tomb, in which the remains of Jamal Shah rest.

A beautiful mosque showcases a mixture of Indian, Creole and Islamic architecture. It’s close to Chinatown and is a must visit.

Nice panoramic view Port Louis from that place, there is place for parking as well near there. No place for the snack or water so you have to buy and go there if you want to spend a time there but 30 minute max i can prefer. There is a walking track as well if you want to go

Hundreds of locals and tourists daily visit the Marie Reine de la Paix church to pray and enjoy the beautiful greenery around. The premises of the church are an ideal place from which to enjoy the view of Port Louis. You have to climb seven terraces and 82 rock-cut steps in order to reach the monument. Each of the terraces has beautiful patches of flowers of a variety of colours. The garden surrounding the church is one of the best maintained in Mauritius. You can enjoy a day here with your family, have picnics with friends, or relax while overlooking the city and the sea. Tourists visit the place to have a glimpse of the picturesque serene environment. The garden is usually very well maintained with patches of colorful flowers throughout the terraces. For the little history lesson: The constructions started in May 1940 and was inaugurated in August of the following year. The 3m white marble statue represents Mary holding a world globe When mass is celebrated here, it usually attracts a fair amount of people from lots of different places. The place is closely associated with important moments of the Catholic Church. At night, you will experience Port-Louis all lights on which is quite beautiful too, although I would still be careful not to go there alone in the evenings though.

Very peaceful place. Some goes to pray, some for some photoshoot but also to find inner peace, take some new resolution in their life. The walking trail itself is a pilgrimage, get enough time to think and other think. That feelings to be away from civilization is just a great relief. The only problem is that the burning sun will exhaust all your energy. Better go well prepared with few litters of water.

The view from up there is amazing 😍. However, when I went it was locked probably due to covid 19. Buy the scenery was wonderful.
