This mall is very well maintained with great views and easy accessibility. Directional signs are clear, and even during construction, safety measures are well in place, which is impressive. Cleanliness is top-notch — hats off to the cleaning staff! The food court is kept neat, and tables are sanitized after each use. There's also a wide variety of restaurants offering different cuisines. Families will appreciate the kids' play area, and there are occasional shows and events too. Parking is spacious, but it can still be hard to find a spot during busy hours. The only downside is the unpleasant smell that appears in the evenings or at night — it happens regularly and can be uncomfortable. Hopefully, this can be resolved soon. Overall, a great place to shop, dine, and spend time with family.
Kun R — Google review
My favourite mall in Mauritius. Easy to go to, to navigate and have unique set ups for the food court! The integration with older architecture gives it a sophisticated edge and it superior internal comfort makes it a must go mall for both locals and visitors. Easy to go to go both by private and public transportation!

Kendra by Ascencia

3.9

Shopping mall
Nestled in the heart of Saint Pierre, Kendra by Ascencia is a delightful shopping destination that caters to all your needs. This charming mall may be small, but it boasts an impressive array of stores and a welcoming atmosphere perfect for family outings. With convenient parking and easy access to public transport, it's an ideal spot for both locals and visitors. At Kendra, you’ll find everything from clothing boutiques to essential services like pharmacies.
Small shopping mall but which in my opinion is a very convenient shopping place as it is found in the crowded village of St Pierre where parking facilities is a necessity and you've got enough here. It is situated in the centre of the village, easily accessible and near to bus terminus. Even it is small but he has a Winner's supermarket which got all you need for daily use including fresh vegetables, bread and pastries. Limited place but all shops were well selected by the owner of the mall by including a sports shop, electronics store, kids shop, shoes and bags, household shop like manjoo, frozen foods shop, a ladies shoes shop, B&S, Island Haze and others which make your shopping convenient in only one place. The foodcourt also can accommodate enough people and has some nice restaurants including KFC and Pizza Inn. A small and safe kids park is available where kids can play while shopping. There's a small corner for ATM as well. Washrooms are modern and clean. Overall it's a nice shopping mall. The only problem, which is not the mall fault, is the exit from the parking to the traffic lights. The 'whom it may concern dept' shall be more flexible about that problem and mostly during end of month.

You can also buy beef, goat, lamb, pork, cow and chicken meat here mostly on Saturday. Fresh fish market is only on Saturdays. Buying here is cheaper and fresh compared to supermarkets.

Caudan Arts Centre is a charming store offering a variety of items such as clothing, books, and handcrafted goods, including merchandise from the center itself. It serves as a platform for local brands to showcase and sell their products. The venue also hosts monthly BNI meetings due to its convenient location, parking facilities, and affordability. Additionally, it provides an excellent buffet with diverse finger foods and complimentary tea or coffee for attendees.
Well kept and easily accessible via Metro, plenty of car parking as well. Toilets are clean, the auditorium is spacious with comfy seats. Restaurant attached is pricy but good quantity. Photos are view from.

The after meeting's finger food buffet is very good with a nice variety. We also have a welcoming tea or coffee prior to our meeting. We chose the Caudan Arts Center after trying some other conference centers.

When exploring the vibrant island of Mauritius, one cannot overlook the historical gem known as Champ de Mars. Nestled in the heart of Port Louis, this iconic racecourse is steeped in rich heritage and has been a significant part of Mauritian culture since its inauguration in 1812. As the oldest racecourse in the Southern Hemisphere and second oldest globally, it offers an exhilarating experience for both avid horse racing fans and curious visitors alike.
I had an amazing time at the Champ de Mars horse races in Mauritius! The atmosphere was electric, with a lively crowd and the thrill of the races keeping everyone on the edge of their seats. The location itself is beautiful, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and a vibrant, festive vibe. The races were exciting, and the horses looked absolutely majestic. It was a fantastic experience with a great mix of sport, excitement, and local culture. Whether you're a horse racing fan or just looking for a fun day out, I highly recommend visiting Champ de Mars!

Historic Sites
Perched high on a hill overlooking the harbor in Port Louis, Fort Adelaide, also known as La Citadelle, is a 19th-century military fortress built by the British. This sturdy black basalt structure was constructed to counter a potential invasion by the French and control local opposition to the abolition of slavery. Today, it offers panoramic views of the capital, Moka mountain range, Champs de Mar horse racing track, and the harbor.
It is not the forte. It is another historical place at Port Louis. It is free admission and plenty of parking space available. You can see the whole Port Louis from this place with 360 view!
Ir S — Google review
The fort holds a lot of history, but sadly, there’s no information inside to educate visitors about it. There isn’t much to explore within the fort itself - you simply stroll around, enjoy the elevated views, and take pictures. The city of Port Louis looks stunning from up here, offering great photo opportunities of both the city and the fort. Entry is free, and you can park your car right outside before heading in.
Paulomi R — Google review
The entrance is free, you can walk around the walls of this fortress, but there is not much to do when you arrive. Only the views on Port Louis city and nearby hills are amazing. There is no pernament exhibition and just several cannons show historic importance of this place which now serves only as a viewpoint or parking place. Parking is possible inside/outside of the fortress and It’s also feee.
Tomáš J — Google review
Perched on a hill overlooking Port Louis, Citadelle (Fort Adelaide) is a 19th-century fortress built by the British. Named after the wife of King William IV, Queen Adelaide, it offers panoramic views of the city, harbor, and surrounding mountains. Constructed from black basalt rocks in a Moorish style, the fort was intended to protect the port and quell potential local unrest but was never used for military purposes. Today, it stands as a historical landmark offering insights into the colonial era. Visitors can explore the well-preserved grounds, view old cannons, and enjoy the 360-degree vistas. The former barracks have been transformed into **boutique shops**. The fort is also becoming a cultural hub, hosting events and performances. A visit to Citadelle provides a blend of history and stunning scenery, making it a worthwhile stop in Port Louis. It's recommended to visit in the late afternoon to enjoy cooler temperatures and potentially a beautiful sunset over the city.
Samir S — Google review
We visited Citadelle Fort (Fort Adelaide) on Oct 03 as part of our Port Louis city itinerary, and it was definitely worth the stop! 🏰 Perched atop a hill overlooking the capital city, this 19th-century British fortress offers breathtaking panoramic views of Port Louis, the harbor, and the surrounding mountains ⛰️🌊. The fort, built from black basalt rocks in a Moorish style, has been beautifully preserved and gives a glimpse into Mauritius’ colonial history 🇲🇺. Walking around the fort was a pleasant experience — we admired the old cannons, explored the courtyard, and even checked out the small boutique shops now housed in the former barracks 🛍️. The place has a peaceful vibe, and it’s easy to spend time soaking in the views and taking pictures 📸. Highly recommend visiting in the late afternoon to enjoy the cool breeze and possibly catch a gorgeous sunset over Port Louis 🌅.
Shashank A — Google review
Honestly a very boring place , the city views from the top are better than the fort itself , the cannons seem so out of place . Anyways don’t waste much time here it’s not worth it
Dipanjan R — Google review
Entry is free, no need to pay. Free parking up on top near the entrance. Bathrooms aren't open currently so be careful. Under construction. Good view from on top but very worn down and really not much to see.

Citadel Fort, also known as Fort Adelaide, was built from 1830 to 1840. The Fort was originally built to protect Port Louis but was never used for that reason. The Fort is still intact and, looks majestic. From the roof of the fort one can have 360-degree view of the Port Louis along with the mountains

Flea & Street Markets
Central Market, located in Port Louis near Chinatown, is a vibrant and bustling traditional market offering a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, souvenirs, Chinese herbal medicines, and aphrodisiacs. The market was established in 1839 during the Victorian era and remains a popular shopping destination for locals. Visitors can immerse themselves in the lively atmosphere as they explore the colorful stalls and interact with enthusiastic stallholders.
A vibrant spot to soak in local life, the Port Louis Central Market is a must-visit when in the capital. On the ground floor, you’ll find a colorful, bustling space where locals buy their daily fruits, vegetables, and herbs — a great place to observe the rhythm of Mauritian everyday life. Head up to the second level for clothes, textiles, and a wide selection of souvenirs. Wearing your “tourist lens,” the market is both fun and eye-opening. It’s not just a place to shop, but a way to experience the heart of the city — loud, lively, and full of character.
Wei L — Google review
Overpriced market but still nice to experience and to visit. Port Louis is the home of the largest market, where you can find fresh food items, local dishes, and various handcrafted goods that are useful to locals and serve as souvenirs for tourists. It is always crowded, even during weekdays, as many locals working in Port Louis stop by for a cheap snack. You can find fresh meat, poultry, fish and seafood, as well as veggies, fruits and spices. You can also buy many handcrafted souvenirs and gifts, but keep in mind you must bargain all the time. It's also one of the best places for local street food.
Ntht N — Google review
If you want to enjoy the atmosphere of a classic market, you've come to the right place. You'll find fresh fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, and you'll definitely get a good price for your holiday souvenirs. And even shopaholics will find something to their liking here.
Zaneta S — Google review
Central Market in Port Louis is lively, crowded, and full of local color. You’ll find fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, and street food on the ground floor. Prices are reasonable, and the produce is fresh. Upstairs, there are souvenirs, clothes, and local crafts — some handmade, some more commercial. It’s a good spot to pick up gifts or try local snacks. Expect a bit of noise and hustle, but that’s part of the experience. Vendors are friendly, and a little bargaining is normal. Worth a visit if you want to see everyday Mauritian life up close. Go early to avoid the heat and crowds.
FatGoose — Google review
Worth a visit to experience and good variety. Fruit, veg, clothes, food hall, souvenir tat. Winds down from about 4pm. Easy parking across the road by the sea, but can be busy traffic to get there. Be sure to get some alouda and rotis. Also interesting around the bus station
Duncan A — Google review
Quite interesting, but really not much different from other large markets. You get the feeling you're being ripped off everywhere. Souvenirs are sometimes offered here for two to three times the price of other sales locations, for example, in Gorges National Park (Gorges Viewpoint) or near Cristal Rock. Additionally it is loud and dirty...but still, if you want to see Port Louis and it is on your way. Do a quick stop and have a view.
Kristina D — Google review
Loved the food here good place to buy your souvenirs please try Alouda Pillay refer to the pic to find the correct stall. Again when you speak English you get charged more try your best to speak French or check the prices so you know when they robbing you

The Sea Folks offers a lovely setting with a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The environment is calm and pleasant—ideal for a casual outing. The staff were very attentive and caring, which really made the experience more enjoyable. In terms of food, we’d give it a 7 out of 10. It’s not exceptional, but fair and decent overall. A few dishes could use a bit more refinement to match the quality of the service and ambiance. All in all, a nice place if you’re in the area and looking for a comfortable spot to unwind over a meal. With a few improvements to the menu, this could become a real favorite.

Pizza Inn Kendra is a delightful spot to grab a bite, especially if you're in the mood for some delicious pizza. However, it's important to note that Kendra Mall tends to quiet down significantly after 8:00 PM, with most shops and boutiques closing around 7:00 PM. If you plan on visiting, aim to arrive before then for a livelier atmosphere. The food court may feel somewhat deserted later in the evening, leaving Pizza Inn and KFC as your main dining options.
Kendra mall is not anymore alive after 8h00 pm. So avoid to move there after 7h00 pm. All shops and boutique closes at about 7h00. The foodcourt quite empty, mostly pizza Inn or KFC are left as options. Not really animated or people around.

Very bad experience with pizza inn st pierre. First of all the cashier was very rude, not even a smile on her face as we have disturbed her by ordering our menu. Secondly our order arrived after more than 60 mins late because they forgot to prepare it. Lastly the pizza was very hard to eat it its like a cardboard. I will never buy there again.

Subject: Concern About Unavailable Service on Saturday Night Dear Manager, I tried calling around 7 PM on Saturday night to place an order for three pizzas, but there was no answer. It appears the phone was switched off, which is quite surprising—especially on a busy weekend evening. I kindly suggest checking in with your staff to ensure this isn’t a recurring issue. Many of the comments in your reviews seem to point to staff-related concerns, and situations like this could lead to lost customers and harm your brand’s reputation. Thank you for your attention to this matter
Rohanish R — Google review
Staff is not welcoming. Not even a smile nor a greeting. Worst pizza I've eaten in my life. Even Pizza Hut is better. Ordered a chicken & mayo pizza with thin crust. It was horrible. Crust was elastic and partially uncooked. The mayo was almost non-existent. The chicken (i'm not sure if that was really chicken) was not good. Some pieces were uncooked in the middle and burnt outside. I wonder how one can achieve this cuisson. I also witnessed a mix-up in other customers' orders, and they did not even realise their mistake. Very bad, or should I say, a very tasteless experience.

Sitar Indian Restaurant is located in the heart of the Bagatelle Mall, nestled in Moka, Mauritius. The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious Indian dishes prepared by an Indian chef. With its lively ambiance and delectable food, Sitar has garnered praise from happy customers. The restaurant's iconic status is maintained through continuous innovation in its offerings.
Our experience is so good with Sitar restaurant. We reached near closing time still they manage to have us our lunch. Lunch was super fresh and at the same time delicious. Manager and staff member “Giri” both have attended us so nicely.

Dinner last Friday 🥰 📍 The location is very nice and easy to reach using common transport. If you're planning to go on a Friday or weekend, better make a reservation! Seperate with mall food court which make it less crowed or noisy. 🤵 The staff were polite and helpful. A special thanks to them for handling the birthday cake and champagne so well. 🍽️ While the snacks were quite dry, a little sauce would’ve made a big difference. But the main dishes were delicious and definitely worth the price. 🍹 Great variety of drinks, most were tasty except the salty nimbu, which had too much salt compared to the sugar. 🎶 The décor is beautiful and the atmosphere was so nice with live music. If you sit upstairs, you get a nice view of the live band. The restroom is clean but is also located upstairs, which may not be easy for everyone to access. All in all, a lovely spot with good vibes and some room for improvement on the snacks and accessibility 🫡 nice points system, QR available in their menu. We wanted a 'curry like home: for an evening and found Sitar. The live music was a nice touch, the food was pretty good although the Jalfrezi was more sweet than spicy. The service was good, but we only got one menu for the three of us and they were probably running equally lean on staff to table ratio. Will consider going again, but not in a rush

Very good customer service, from taking reservation on the phone, welcoming us at entry, making sure to ask every time if we needed anything else than what we ordered until we finished. Very good food and drinks as well. Very clean and beautiful place to have dinner with friends, colleagues or family. Thank you, Kushal Awatarsing

⭐ If disappointment had a Michelin star, Sitar would win it. ⭐ Where do I even begin? Maybe with the dirty glasses they proudly handed us — because nothing says “bon appétit” like spotting smudges before your first sip. Then came the main act: I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala, but apparently the chef heard “Surprise me with something that tastes like coriander and regret.” When I pointed it out, the staff decided the best way to handle it was to argue — because clearly, I don’t know what I ordered at my own table. The whole experience was like a masterclass in how to ruin dinner. Service: hostile. Food: wrong. Ambience: dirty glass chic. Honestly, if you’re ever wondering what the worst dinner of your life might feel like… book a table here.

I recently had dinner at sitar restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walk in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our server was attentive and friendly. The food was flavorful but a little bit salty as per our taste and served in generous portions. Overall, Sitar provided a memorable evening with food food and excellent service and inviting highly recommend it for a date night or any special celebration.

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's Port Louis is a renowned and enduring fast-food chain recognized for its hamburgers and fries. The ambiance in this branch, like other McDonald's establishments in Port Louis, the capital city of Mauritius, is pleasant and enjoyable. While their vegetarian options are limited to only the McVeggie burger, it may take slightly longer than usual (around 15-20 minutes) to receive your order due to potential lower demand for these products at most McDonald's outlets.
The customer service here is absolutely unacceptable. Prices displayed are incorrect, and customers end up being charged more. When I questioned the discrepancy, the staff shifted the blame onto me, implying it was my fault for not checking the price first. The manager’s communication skills and attitude were extremely poor, showing no professionalism or respect. The only decent part of my experience was the service from an Indian staff member working here — they were far more polite, ethical, and professional than the Mauritian staff I dealt with.

Waiting since 15 mins no one is here to serve. No cash in registry, no staff. Need to shut it down. Nothing close to mcdo. Worst and worst since it was sold. Manager and front staff were smoking outside while cleaners struggling to try to serve customers waiting.

The slowest McDonald's I've ever visited. The staff seemed disengaged, spending more time arguing among themselves than assisting customers. The food was just slightly above average, below the usual McDonald's standard.
Pavel M — Google review
The food was as if it was prepared like awhile go. The nuggets was hard as if it was trying to copy the shell of a turtle lol. I was only sitting there for like five to ten mins max. It was very disappointing. If you needed more time to prepare fresh food I would have waited.

Big upgrage in atmosphere with a huge drop in food quality and for some reason.......I was not very welcomed to eat upstairs as a lady approached me to tell me I can't eat after 3pm upstairs.......there was nothing to support this argument besides her words.....I ordered a grand chicken meal with sprite....and got a cold burger with cold fries and for the cherry on top....got seven up instead of sprite with no carbonation even after returning and changing the drink....still got the same results....very disappointing....to see mcdonalds going downhill like that......I hope the company recovers.....otherwise this would be a one way road trip with no possible comeback.....PEACE..✌️🫳

Live performances and art installations in the open areas add to the vibrant atmosphere enjoyed by visitors of all ages.
Vibrant Spot with Beautiful Views and Great Shopping! Caudan Waterfront in Port Louis is definitely one of the must-visit spots in Mauritius. The location is stunning — right on the water with lovely views of the harbor and mountains. It has a great mix of local boutiques, international brands, restaurants, and a lively atmosphere. The craft market and souvenir shops are perfect for picking up gifts or local handmade items. I especially enjoyed the open-air vibe and the street performances that give the area a fun, cultural touch. The food court and cafes offer a decent variety, though prices are slightly on the higher side. Parking is available but can be a bit crowded during weekends or holidays. Overall, it's a fantastic place to shop, eat, and relax by the water. A bit more local cultural representation and better maintenance in certain areas would make it a 5-star destination.

Lovely shopping district. We really enjoyed the indoor craft market, though shop around first, we noticed the same things were 100-200 rupees more in some places than others . Not cheap shopping, but some lovely souvenirs. The umbrellas lining the street are very cool and there are some nice shops. Definitely worth a visit.

Nestled at the picturesque Caudan Waterfront, the Blue Penny Museum is a delightful gem that showcases the rich cultural heritage of Mauritius. Housed in a historic building that once served as the headquarters for the New Mauritius Docks Company, this charming museum offers visitors an engaging journey through time. It features an impressive collection of stamps and coins, including one of only four pristine copies of the iconic 1847 two-pence indigo blue stamp—an absolute must-see for philatelists!
History of Mauritius and their famous stamps. Blue and Red Penny. You can see the originals which were bought back to Mauritius in 1993, but only few minutes every hour (the light turns on), not to destroy the stamps. It is only about "Post Office" versus "Post Paid" :-)

Must see if you are in Port Louis. Small but very nice museum about history of Mauritius. There is also the famous stamps Blue Penny and Red Penny. These stamps are lit for 10 minutes every hour. Very interesting things about post history. Highly recommend if you are in Mauricius.

Take the time to go around at least twice as you'll miss things worth seeing on the first circuit. The Malcolm de Chazal exhibition was worth seeing if you like that sort of thing and included in the entrance fee. Not really my taste.

Very beautiful location with a lot of history showcased. Lots of art and history about Mauritius 🇲🇺 Definitely learnt a lot about Mauritius and it’s history. The arts works are very impress and you will really appreciate it if you are into art 🖼️ There’s also postage stamps on display with loads of information about the Mauritius postal system. Lots of fantastic sculptures to admire as well. You aren’t allowed to take photos so please be aware of this. It’s open from Monday to Saturday and closed on Sundays/public holidays. Try to plan your visit for the early part of the day. Entrance is about Rs245 as a tourist.

Great museum to visit even if you are not a stamps guy. Beside the world famous blue and red Mauritius stamp you can visit a nice exhibition on the history of Mauritius. Keep in mind, that the blue Mauritius stamp is only visible for 5 minutes per hour because of conservative reasons. At our visit it was from xx:20 pm to xx:25 pm
Felix B — Google review
Review: Visit one of the last stamps of the Blue penny and seed penny. What makes it so special? The misprint in 1847 includes Post Office on the stamps and was soon changed to Post Paid. For conservation, the originals are illuminated only temporarily. So make sure to inquire about the time, when the stamps are illuminated. Parking: non-free parking slot of the waterfront shopping mall

Super happy to see the stamps that were a synonymous with the rarest things. I didn't know what I was doing, but was having a blast as a young kid collecting hundreds of stamps. Also, great to learn more about Mauritian history. Foreigners pay almost 6x Mauritian prices

The Aapravasi Ghat in Port Louis is a former immigration depot for paid Indian laborers brought by the British Empire after slavery was abolished. It has now been converted into an interpretation center and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The arrival of these laborers shaped the culture of Mauritius, with over 65% of its current population linked to their ancestry.
This place is a must-visit for anyone, tourists or locals alike, as it holds deep historical significance for Mauritius. There’s no entrance fee, and you learn so much about the immigrants from India and other parts of Asia who came to this island. However, it’s important to understand that the so-called “free” or “indentured” labor wasn’t what it seemed. Migrants were brought here under false promises and endured harsh working conditions. The museum also highlights the hero who played a pivotal role in addressing these injustices. It’s an emotional experience, I had tears in my eyes by the end of the tour.
Paulomi R — Google review
Aapravasi Ghat is seriously something else. It is like stepping back in time to this place where so many people, about half a million, first arrived as indentured laborers. It is fascinating to think that this one spot in Mauritius was the first for the British, and that it totally changed the country. Even though you only see parts of the old buildings, you can just feel the history there. If you are in Mauritius, you absolutely have to go there.
Ranjan B — Google review
Significant, place to learn about Mauritius & how culture has been shaped due to Slavery in the past. Lots of details photographs & historical articles that anyone can take a look. Located on the bay of Trou Fanfaron, in the capital of Port-Louis, the Aapravasi Ghat is the remains of an immigration depot, the site from where modern indentured labour Diaspora emerged.
Ameya G — Google review
Really well done exhibit to accompany the heritage site. It tells the story of the "great experiment" to use indentured labour after slavery was abolished and the conditions that these labours worked under. Would recommend anyone to visit for an hour, but especially Mauritians. Plus, it's free entry.
Kyras S — Google review
It's world heritage site at Port Luis in Mauritius. It's in the memory of people taken for the agricultural work from many countries by britishers, wherever they were ruling in early 1800. These workers are responsible for today's prosperous country due to their hard work. Today 4th/ 5th generation of them are well educated, prominent citizens reaching to the posts of even Prime Minister. This memorial is good efforts to show their sacrifices and leading a hard life.

Jummah Masjid is a significant landmark in Port Louis, Mauritius. The mosque showcases an elegant blend of Moorish and Mughal architectural styles and houses the tomb of Jamal Shah. Visitors can spend a couple of hours exploring nearby attractions such as Aapravasi Ghat, Central Market, Blue Penny Museum, and Chinatown. The mosque's construction began in 1878 with a combination of Indian, Creole, and Islamic influences.
Was fortunate to find parking in the road adjacent to the Jummah masjid for our trip to Central Market. Decided to pray Jummah salah there. Ample toilet facilities there. They have ladies section on the opposite side to the main entrance. It was cool inside with all the fans. Urdu khutba before the actual Arabic khutba. Most people wouldn't have understood the khutba at all if they don't understand Arabic. Masjid is nice and well maintained.

Marie Reine de la Paix, also known as the 'Mary Queen of Peace Church,' is a significant religious site in Port Louis, Mauritius. Built in 1942, this modern chapel and shrine attract both locals and tourists who admire its stunning architecture. Notably, Pope John Paul II officiated his first mass here during his visit to Mauritius in 1989.

Nice panoramic view Port Louis from that place, there is place for parking as well near there. No place for the snack or water so you have to buy and go there if you want to spend a time there but 30 minute max i can prefer. There is a walking track as well if you want to go
Era I — Google review
Hundreds of locals and tourists daily visit the Marie Reine de la Paix church to pray and enjoy the beautiful greenery around. The premises of the church are an ideal place from which to enjoy the view of Port Louis. You have to climb seven terraces and 82 rock-cut steps in order to reach the monument. Each of the terraces has beautiful patches of flowers of a variety of colours. The garden surrounding the church is one of the best maintained in Mauritius. You can enjoy a day here with your family, have picnics with friends, or relax while overlooking the city and the sea. Tourists visit the place to have a glimpse of the picturesque serene environment. The garden is usually very well maintained with patches of colorful flowers throughout the terraces. For the little history lesson: The constructions started in May 1940 and was inaugurated in August of the following year. The 3m white marble statue represents Mary holding a world globe When mass is celebrated here, it usually attracts a fair amount of people from lots of different places. The place is closely associated with important moments of the Catholic Church. At night, you will experience Port-Louis all lights on which is quite beautiful too, although I would still be careful not to go there alone in the evenings though.

Very peaceful place. Some goes to pray, some for some photoshoot but also to find inner peace, take some new resolution in their life. The walking trail itself is a pilgrimage, get enough time to think and other think. That feelings to be away from civilization is just a great relief. The only problem is that the burning sun will exhaust all your energy. Better go well prepared with few litters of water.
