Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park is a serene park renowned for its picturesque bay views and proximity to local boutiques and eateries. It offers an ideal location for families with numerous stores and souvenir shops available on the island, although it can get quite crowded during peak tourist season when cruise ships are docked. The park features an ATM, while the surrounding area boasts several friendly locals who are always ready to offer assistance or recommendations.
Clean bathrooms, a lot of shops plus hidden near the docks are food trucks...delicious food trucks. ADA wheelchair accessible. Chickens have the right of way so follow a chicken. Walkable from beaches and town square.

First time visiting. Nice and quiet. No crowds as no cruise ships were at port. We loved the pedestrian only walkways, clean bathrooms and the ambiance is very chill. Definitely check out the BVI art and take a photo. We at the coconut lounge, the service was a little slow but the food was amazing 10/10 worth the wait! The jumbo shrimp was divine!! The kids loved the ice cream at ManJack creamery! We def recommend the Oreo and key lime ice cream 🍦

Good spot for boat tourists. Easy to navigate with unique shops and friendly people! Plenty of places to eat and drink as well
Kory R — Google review
The day we were there, there were no shops open because there were no cruise ships and there were plenty of people there. It's a shame because we went there to spend money.
Rick W — Google review
Great area for some duty free shopping. Plenty of food options. Can get busy when the cruise ships dock.

Shopping mall
Tortola Pier Park is a charming open-air colonial-style mall located on the waterfront, just a short walk from the Moorings Marina. With over 70 retail outlets, visitors can shop for everything from clothing to local rum. After shopping, visitors can refuel at Camdem Gourmet Market with delicious options like baked chicken and potato wedges.
Visiting Road Town today from the NCL Norwegian Prima. We discovered that the town is not very mobility scooter friendly right outside of the cruise port shopping area. There are several good places to eat or get a cold drink. Island Sizzle is one of the stands that we had some really good food in the port area near the water.
Dave B — Google review
Big pier park where there is live music, shops, food stalls and restaurants by the really blue waters of Tortola. Nice place to hang out for a bit.
Aleina A — Google review
The Tortola pier is really cool. What I really enjoyed isthe dock side- there is a marina view/Ocean view, where there are individual small huts, offering different cuisines. There were local options, Asian cuisine, African cuisine, Jamaican cuisine – all of it being super affordable. So you can have your local cuisine and drinks all overlooking the ocean. There was also a a live performer. He was singing some great Caribbean music as well as spoke about the different stores available on the pier and their promotions. This is drastically different to Antigua, and a positive way.
Kimberley H — Google review
Cute little town, few nice shops, few nice places on beach to eat, beach and hotels cute and very nice, rum distillery down street was really cool to visit. Highly recommend to go and check out area!!
Brenna G — Google review
Beautiful place, from your cruise ship it’s around 2-5 minutes (approx.. 175 m) walking to the end of the pier. You’ll find good option for shopping, several bars and Restaurant with good food/drinks and their toilets are well maintained. Taxi’s are available right after the shopping area and they have fixed pricing so you don’t have to bargain. Helpful staff at the information booth are also available to give you information about the Island and how to get to another Islands like Jost Van Dyke and Virgin Gorda and they can also provide you a local map. If you’re on a cruise, make sure to talk to your Port Shopping Consultant to give you more information about shopping on the ports and they can also provide you a VIP Card and coupons. I also suggest to book your Shore Excursions before your cruise as most of the Tours gets sold out easily.
Jane V — Google review
Ate at D’s Kitchen and it was delicious! Oxtail and Jerk Chicken with rice, avocado and plantains. The pineapple and ginger fresh juice was a great pairing with our meal.

John M — Google review
Only big dock for cruise ships, the pier; depending on the length of the ships, could take some time depending on your speed, for people without walking difficulties at a normal step, not going slow, can take from 3 to 5 minutes waking, however, if they do have walking difficulties, be aware to arrange wheelchair assistance from your ships normally dialing 00 from your staterooms/cabins, if you have an organize shore excursion, at least 30 minutes from your meeting time on your ticket, call guest services to arrange a wheelchair assistance for you, so you can be on time for your tour, they will drop you just where the meeting point of your tour is, with any cruise line. At the end of the pier, you will be able to find shops and restaurants, as well taxis will be available at the location. Taxi fares are flat and can vary (cheaper) depending on the number of passengers (1, 2, 3 or more paying per person).

The Folk Museum, located in the Penn House near the old Post Office, is a small but fascinating museum showcasing artifacts from the Arawak and Carib peoples, including pottery, stone tools, and decorated spindles. It also features items from The Rhone and H.M.S. Nymph wrecks, plantation relics, and information on reef conservation. Sunny Caribbee Spice Shop & Art Gallery is a must-visit spot in the main area of BVI, whether you're on a cruise or staying in the area. With over 40 years of history, it offers an array of spices and souvenirs that capture the essence of the Caribbean. Visitors rave about their hot sauce and jerk seasoning, as well as their collection of local artwork.
I love this shop every time I am in Tortola we load up On their spices teas and other products. You definitely won’t regret shopping here. Can’t wait For our next trip to stop in. Excellent customer service !!!!
Alyssa O — Google review
While there are some spices in this shop, they are almost all something you could order on the internet. There’s not a lot of variety either- maybe 10-15 different spices and most made in India not the Virgin Islands. We were disappointed, and based on other reviews, expected something different. If you’re in the Virgin Islands, there is a fabulous spice shop on St John, would recommend visiting there instead if you’re looking for local spices.

Crafts Alive Village in Road Town offers a unique shopping experience with vibrant markets where local artisans showcase their craftsmanship. The market is the perfect place to find souvenirs such as handmade jewelry, pottery, artwork, and traditional Caribbean spices. The market space consists of bright wooden buildings with terracotta roofs and offers a variety of items including homemade hot sauce, woven baskets, and bags.
There's a lot to see by just walking a few minutes inland, so don't just stay on the wharf! While there are several good shopping choices on the pier for the start or end of your tour (look around the outside stores for sunscreen and pharmacy), veer a little further left and walk a minute more to this excellent group of nearby shops for a great selection of crafts and uncommon finds. (Gracious thanks to the Tortola Police for doing a good job of keeping us from getting mobbed by hustlers and taxi tours.)
Emm C — Google review
There is much that could be done to improve this place. Starting with a focus on selling more authentic local products such as bazz's smoothies. Most of the other stalls all seem to be selling the same cheap clothing that you can find for better prices elsewhere. Another suggestion I would make is to always have a local band playing to help set a welcoming mood, most days it looks and feels pretty dull. I would also give the shop keepers a course in customer service, to better make the customers feel like spending their money.

Pusser's, located across from the Road Town Ferry Terminal, offers a convenient and ideal stop for travelers beginning or ending their journeys. Described as Tortola's version of an English pub, it exudes a cozy atmosphere with its adorned walls, vintage photos, and Victorian chandeliers. Visitors rave about the enjoyable experience they had at Pusser's, praising the delicious food and refreshing cold beverages. The key lime pie is highly recommended.
This has been on my Go To list for years!! The best Painkillers and Conch Fritters!! Check them out if you're vacationing in Tortola or have a ferry layover!!
J B — Google review
We stopped in at an iconic Pusser's after a short tour of the island. We were seated immediately. After a short scan we decided on the tourist favorites... Conch chowder, conch fritters, Painkiller #2 (low alcohol), jerk chicken wrap and chicken wings. Add to that a strawberry smoothie and bottled water. The chowder was well prepared and tasted delicious. The fritters were good with the supplied jelly style dip. They were piping hot. I like them, but have eaten better (fresh cooked in a parking lot in the Bahamas by a very kind lady). The jerk chicken wrap was also quite good. My daughter did not care for the flavor, I thought it great. The chicken wings, described as buffalo turned out to be a spicy hot, not buffalo, but served hot. They also were good. My son has two of the strawberry smoothie's. Must have been good! The Painkiller was also good, I am glad we chose #2. All in all a pleasent experience at tourist prices, $113 plus tip.

The food was tasty. The chef was accommodating in creating a vegetarian roti for me which was not even an item on the menu. The food came out in quick time. Our server gave good service.

Pusser’s Pub in Tortola is a beloved staple, offering a unique blend of local history, maritime charm, and delicious food. Located in Road Town, this lively pub and restaurant provides a quintessential British Virgin Islands experience for both locals and visitors. My visit to Pusser’s was memorable for its inviting atmosphere and flavorful dishes. The decor is maritime-themed, paying homage to the island’s rich nautical history and the famed Pusser’s Rum, a significant part of the British Navy’s tradition. The wood-paneled walls and naval memorabilia create a cozy yet vibrant ambiance that immediately sets the tone for a casual and enjoyable dining experience. The open-air setting also offers great views of the harbor, adding to the charm. The menu features a mix of Caribbean and British pub fare. During my visit, I tried the famous “Pusser’s Painkiller” cocktail, a creamy, rum-based drink that has become synonymous with the establishment. It’s a must-try for any visitor! As for the food, the fish and chips were perfectly cooked with a crisp batter, and the conch fritters added a delicious local touch to the meal. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, especially considering the prime location. Service at Pusser’s was friendly, though slightly slow during peak hours. Despite this, the staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered great recommendations. The laid-back island pace adds to the relaxed vibe, which is a nice change from the hustle of more commercialized restaurants. Overall, Pusser’s Pub is a must-visit when in Tortola. With its historical charm, scenic setting, and tasty food, it offers an authentic taste of the British Virgin Islands. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink or a full meal, the experience at Pusser’s won’t disappoint.

Myself and aunt Lisa had the most amazing time with the manager and the bartender Jeffrey !!!Staging area to be established I used to work for Windjammer barefoot cruises. The last time she was here was approximately 30 years ago. This was the highlight of her vacation. She has been waiting to return to the island and visit Pusser’s because it made such an impact on her life. Don’t miss the opportunity too stop in and have a painkiller !! level 4 is awesome ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Cathy T — Google review
Came in here waiting for a friend that was busy. Tried the famous painkiller drink. <- This is great! Made witha rum from Guyana, with pineapple, orange and nutmeg. I liked it better than the piña colada tbh... don't tell my fellow borikuas. The Garden Pizza was good. A bit over-priced everything, but definitely good.

Nestled on the east end of Tortola, Bamboushay Restaurant & Lounge is a delightful gem that promises an unforgettable dining experience. The menu features an array of mouthwatering dishes crafted from the freshest local ingredients, including island classics like conch chowder, grilled lobster, and mahi-mahi tacos.
Great local pub with savvy food and tasty cocktails. The music by MJ was entertaining and capturing. Great place to stop for a quick snack upon arrival or before your departure. The coconut mojito was excellent.

We only stopped for drinks on our way back to the cruise terminal which is about ten minutes away, after spending the day at Cane Garden Bay. We didn't eat, hence four stars, but there is a pretty good looking menu. We'd wanted to spend our day on the nearby island of Jost Van Dijk but sadly due to a cancelled boat trip we weren't able to go which in turn meant that we weren't able to go to the Soggy Dollar bar and taste their legendary cocktail, the Painkiller. So I was pleasantly surprised to see a Painkiler on the Bamboushay restaurant & bar menu. My wife had a cocktail, I forget which, but she enjoyed it. So I had a Painkiller, which was lovely. I really enjoyed it, once I'd given it a quick stir. I've not seen one in the UK but I can easily imagine having one if I see it on the menu back home. The staff are really friendly and polite. The bar is right in the centre, there's music playing and the bar had a really good atmosphere. The bar was also very comfortable, plenty of seating, a nice bit of space and with clean restrooms. It wasn't cheap but it was a nice place to sit, in the shade and watch the world go by. We didn't stay long but if, and when we return to Tortola, we'll definitely return. Tortola was definitely our favourite island on our recent Carribean cruise. Food was definitely great here. The reason I gave four stars was I ordered the scallops and they were a little bit small compared to what I was expecting. Outside of that The drinks were cold and the music and atmosphere were amazing. This is a The best spot to get out of the sun and get a cold beverage with local band beach vibe music.

I just had a FANTASTIC experience in this place. I was walking for some inspiration to eat, the smell of the place got me and I decided to go in. Definitively has a Mediterranean vibe, and it’s an Oasis to cover from the heat and the sun. Good drinks and AMAZING food. Service was kind and with good recommendations. Beautiful place an absolute delight! Service can improve, was a bit slow and just one person to take care of all the place

The food seems to come in a good portion. We came in at 2:42pm and food came in at 3:41!!!! Servers were not attentive at all. If we tried to flag them down, they wouldn't even stop to say something like 'let me call your server' or 'yes, what can I do?', etc. There was a waitress, we thought either she was the owner or manager and there were 2 or 3 other people working. Even people at the next table got up and went to the kitchen asking for their food. Finally, we asked our how long until our food arrived, the young guy said our food will come within 5-10 minutes but it took much longer than that. The time we visited wasn't crowded at all. The presentation was sloppy and was not consistent compared to the two same dishes. We were skeptical of ordering a dessert but since they said it would come out right away, we gave it a try. The gelato had freezer burns and ice chips!!!! And they served them in a cup just like that!!!? Can't believe it is $7/ea which added about another $100 to our bill?!

Going early in the day might not be the best idea. The matron running the shop was clearly not in the mood for us, working or dealing with sunlight. I wanted seafood pizza. I got it. Maybe coming back later would be better. Or maybe not.

OMG this is one of the best meals I've had in my entire life seriously! I've eaten at 5star restaurants many times but this was authentic. The owners are actually Italian. The food is imported from Italy per the owner. Wife makes all the desserts in house. Sasha was our server. She was so attentive and pleasant during our entire stay. The bartender was amazing and made great drinks. We ordered the cheesy bread, Capri salad, meatballs for appetizers. Nothing disappointing. For our entrees we ordered the grouper piccata, a 14-in pizza, chicken marsala spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken schnitzel. When I tell you the garlic, olive oil sauce was amazing... It was so good! Fresh garlic and olive oil with a few pepper flakes within the pomodori offered with the grouper piccata...heaven. light and flavorful with fresh capers. The grouper filet spanned the dinner plate. Amazing 😍. Everything was fresh. Service was great. No long wait times. Dessert was also rewarding with many options. The creme brulee was just fantastic with fresh lemon zest..creamy and satisfying. All in all, a wonderful restaurant with five star service.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this charming small Italian restaurant in Road Town, Tortola, and I can't sing its praises enough! From the moment I stepped through the door, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The food was simply exquisite, bursting with authentic Italian flavors and made with the freshest ingredients. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, and it's clear that the chefs here are truly passionate about their craft. But what truly set this restaurant apart was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcomed and well taken care of. I had the pleasure of spending some time at the bar, where I met Alicia and Lilly, two phenomenal bartenders who not only make the best drinks in town but also create a friendly and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner for two or a lively evening with friends, this restaurant has it all. I can't recommend it highly enough and can't wait to return for another unforgettable dining experience. Grazie mille to the entire team for a truly magical evening!

Food and drinks were decent for the price. Contrary to some reviews, we experienced pretty bad service. It took about 20 min after we were seated to be seen by our server. That was the only time she interacted with us the whole time over an hour and a half. Had to flag her down to get our check in order to leave.

Expensive $42 for 2 desserts. We were seated immediately but barely got service & we sat at the bar area. It took forever to get our check. The banana split & chocolate cake were good not worth $42.

Absolutely incredible food. Service was phenomenal. Staff is amazing. The lasagna is one of the best I've ever had in my life. Easily in my Top 2 of all time. The chicken parm is spectacular. The tiramisu is incredible. You can't go wrong here. It's pricey, but so is everything on the island. The difference here is that it's worth every penny.

Nestled in a serene spot along the waterfront of Road Town, The Watering Hole provides a tranquil escape from the bustling city atmosphere. This popular establishment offers an array of South African wines, local and imported beers, as well as coffee and light meals such as pizza, sandwiches, wraps, and tacos. It's a favored lunch venue for both professionals and charter-yacht crews in Road Town. Additionally, it attracts an after-work crowd with its enticing weeknight specials.
What a great little find in Roadtown. We had a Cobb and Quinoa salad 🥗 that were both delicious and served with the tastiest hot sauce 🥵 if you like to add some kick (sweet but spicy enough it made me sweat)! Washed down with a very good IPA on tap from a brewery in St John USVI 🍻. The place has lots of space and comfortable seating 🛋 and the staff were super kind 🤸🏾‍♀️💃🏾! We really enjoyed this place as somewhere to eat and drink after visiting the Baths and before getting back on our ship 🤩

Weirdly bad service in a bar with sport on the box everywhere. Food was quite good. Local expat favourite haunt.

This establishment offers a convenient option for beverages and meals during operating hours. The menu presents a diverse selection, making it a preferred destination for relaxed dining and drinks.

The food & drinks were amazing. I’m from America and want to open the watering hole here. Very impressed with the food. The service is great and the people are kind. If you’re looking for a good beer the “Carib” is the way to go.

If you’re looking for a quick speedy place for lunch this is not the spot for you. They take their time making your food and you can definitely tell! While we were waiting for our food, we only saw locals coming and grabbing their to-go orders so you know it’s good!

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast at The Watering Hole, and it was an experience worth sharing. The highlight of my meal was the Egg McMuffin - a simple yet perfectly executed dish that left a lasting impression. The ingredients were fresh, the flavours well-balanced, and each bite was a delight. The cozy atmosphere of the restaurant, combined with its friendly staff, added to the overall charm of the morning. It’s a rare find to have such a tasty meal at a very reasonable price. Definitely a must-visit for anyone in Road Town looking for a hearty and delicious breakfast!

Stopped here for lunch at the recommendation of our snorkeling tour guide. We were told by the hostess to sit wherever we wanted but some guy outside told us the only empty tables in the shade were his, so we went inside. No one brought us a menu, so we eventually got up to get a menu from the bartender. We saw a couple of servers running around outside and coming in to get drinks, but they didn’t come to our table. The tables we tried to sit at outside that we were told were taken sat empty the entire time we were there. After 20 minutes of waiting, we got up and ordered from the bartender. We arrived just after 12:30, and our ship was leaving at 2 pm, but at 1:15, we still did not have food or the drinks we ordered and a server had never been to our table. Back to the bartender we went to tell them we were going to have to leave to make it back to the ship on time. We were told our food would be out soon, and handed us our drinks. We didn’t get food till after 1:30, since you are not allowed to bring unpackaged food on board, we just had to eat what we could before rushing back to the ship. We were there for over an hour, and none of the servers came to our table, only someone from the kitchen who brought our food over. Terrible experience, we should have just walked around town and eaten on the ship instead of wasting all the time we had here.

DEFINITELY try the pizza, it's smokey. First class ambience if you ljke laid-back and temperate. You can find a reasonably mixed patronage or balanced I should say, Ex-Pats, Yuppies and Movers n Shakers but no Keyboard Warriors. Coffee available all day long because... Is Tortola. Menu is great, amicable catering to vegan consumptions as well. Nuff said. Happy travels

Island
Tortola is a vibrant island in the British Virgin Islands, known for its stunning white-sand beaches and water sports. It is also home to the picturesque Sage Mountain National Park. The island offers a diverse culinary scene with local restaurants and food trucks serving specialties like conch, spiny lobster, roti, and pate. Visitors can embark on a food tour starting at popular spots such as J Blakx Jerk BBQ and Marias by the Sea in Road Town.
Perfect little island to travel to. We came in by NCL Cruise lines and took an island expedition. The people are amazing and so friendly! The beaches are beautiful and the island is very lush with trees. So much to see. Take a Rum tour too.

Had the most beautiful views from the top of the mountains. Locals were super friendly. Princess cruise line was the only one in port that day so it was not crowded.

One of my favorite islands I have been to. If you get the chance to go, don't miss out! We did a guided boat and bus tour, and got to see some beautiful spots. Will hopefully be going again!
Austin — Google review
We spent a week here and it was a real getaway. I recommend that you find a great place to stay, like Villa Almondeen, and then immerse yourself in the local culture. Tortola has been protected from mass development and franchising that strips the character of the location. Tortola is not Florida. So if you’re looking to ride go karts and play putt putt this isn’t your place. It is a refreshing change of pace in a beautiful setting.
Jeremy R — Google review
Tortola is a lovely, verdant island which has been able to maintain its rustic charm without being over-commercialized. I recommend finding a nice rental property on the north side of the island and staying for awhile to immerse yourself in the island culture. If you arrive by cruise ship you will likely miss out on the warm, friendly people and the stunning beaches. I should mention that the island is volcanic and quite steep, so if you have a concern about driving on fairly narrow roads with steep inclines/declines, this may not be the place for you. I might also add that the cars are US-designed*, meaning that the steering is on the left; however, they drive in the British-style on the left side of the road, making it interesting for the passenger to be seated on the yellow line and the driver on the road's edge. A curious combination. We stayed for 10 days and didn't want to leave when our time was up. Highlights of our trip include: - Smuggler's Bay beach and Patricia's Beach Bar (see separate review) - Lunch at Brandywine (see separate review) - Lunch at Marche at Trellis Bay (see separate review) - Day trip to Virgin Gorda/The Baths (see separate review) - The French Deli - Relish gourmet foods - Steakation butcher/gourmet foods My husband and I enjoy touring around the island by day, with a lunch destination in mind, and then finding a beach spot for the afternoon. Because of the tricky road situation, we choose to stay in and cook dinner at home every night. That's where The French Deli, Relish and Steakation come into play. The local grocers (Rite-Way, One Mart and Bobby's) are OK for pantry items and some fresh goods, but tend to be very limited in anything resembling gourmet products. Also, I like to support local purveyors who are making an effort to offer quality ingredients. Remember that it is an island, so EVERYTHING has to be shipped in from somewhere or produced locally. We spoke to the guy at Relish, where some of the shelves were bare, and he explained that they had been waiting on a shipment from South Africa for several weeks. The container ship had been held up somewhere, and then when it finally arrived, it got caught up in Customs, often for a week or two. This is the kind of thing these retailers are dealing with. Makes you appreciate them even more! The only thing that was missing for me on Tortola was a distinct British presence. In fact, Tortola is really British in name only. Other than a couple of Union Jacks flying, there were no signs that it is a British territory at all (unlike Antigua and Bermuda which both have a more distinct British feel.) Regardless, it is a special place and I look forward to returning soon! * Oddly, the currency and the electrical outlets are also US compatible

Nestled in the heart of Road Town, Tortola, the Old Government House Museum stands as a testament to the rich history of the British Virgin Islands. Once home to governors appointed by the Queen until 1987, this beautifully refurbished landmark now serves as a public museum. Visitors can explore its elegantly restored rooms filled with period furniture and unique artifacts, including hand-signed books from Queen Elizabeth II's visits in 1966 and 1977.

This is a neat little museum with lots of royal family memorabilia. The stamp collection is no longer there (was moved elsewhere for safety after hurricane). There is also a lovely garden area you can tour. The museum is an easy walk from the Port of Tortola. Admission currently is $5. The museum is across the street from a park. I very much enjoyed our visit.

Lovely well-maintained garden. So much plants grown here and it is a place that is vibrant of colour. You'll see a few chickens roaming about as well as a lot of lizards! We loved seeing and holding the red legged turtoises.

A delightful small garden and a quiet oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Road Town. The gardens are well maintained with good paths. We saw many exotic species endemic to the British Virgin Islands as well as from elsewhere. Well worth a visit and we would definitely like to go back one day.

nice little garden. has some cool plants and a neat overturned tree you can climb on. lots of wildlife wanders around too. saw a mother hen with chicks while i was there! takes about 30 minutes to see
Gordon W — Google review
This was a relatively short walk from the cruise port (maybe 20 minutes). Admission was $3 per adult when we went. It was a nice place to walk around and enjoy the beautiful plants. NOTE: The walking directions Google Maps provided at the time I was planning this trip indicated a different route than what you actually have to take. When I looked at the walking route from the port, it indicated I should continue past the police station on Pickenin Road. The entrance is actually on Station Avenue (left turn before you pass the police station). There is a sign at the corner of Pickenin and Station Avenue (see photos) to point you in the right direction.
K R — Google review
This is a lovely garden in the center of Road Town. Dozens and dozens of beautiful flowers and trees. Many were identified by signage, but unfortunately most were not. There were plenty of benches and also a number of large shady trellises to get out of the sun for a bit. Chickens and roosters wandered around, but a pleasant surprise was seeing maybe 20 turtles in, and around, a pond of lily pads.
Carol H — Google review
An Incredible wonder to behold, after the hurricane the botanical garden still thrives today with the loss of royal palms, and the curators house. After seeing the destruction I was utterly shocked and I was also amazed that so much still survived the storm. The plants here still thrive and animals still ran everywhere. The garden is truly a wonder to behold, the beautiful trees and wildlife is an amazing spectacle knowing how much destruction was caused. Bless the staff and people working to restore the garden.

The Original Virgin Canopy Tours offer a thrilling and safe adventure through the jungle canopy, providing stunning views of the island interior, ocean, and harbor area. Located just a short drive from Road Town, this high ropes course is suitable for adventurers of all ages and includes 7 zip lines. The professional and friendly staff ensure a fun and safe experience as you soar through the treetops surrounded by exotic birds and lush flora.
Super great experience!! Recommend a morning slot, as the heat was building around 10am. Drive up was informative, and the driver had a great balance of info and keeping us moving toward the objective. 7 zip lines with amazing views!! BIGGEST PLUS: This was a well trained, professional staff. As a retired Army Airborne Jumpmaster, I totally appreciated their hookup sequence - every staff member did it the same way. They clearly know how people stop thinking when off the ground, and their directive command voices were appropriate and needed to keep people safe. Great job!!! Strongly recommend this as one of your stops, then enjoy another experience or some shopping.

My boys (17 & 14) absolutely LOVED the rides. They were escorted by two people. And Waggi was especially kind to take our iPhone to get amazing footage of the kids riding from station to station, especially with such beautiful scenery. I highly recommend. As others have noted There might be only 6 or 7 lines. So the experience will likely be less than 30 minutes. Everyone was very friendly and it felt safe.

Village Cay Marina is a premier marina located in the heart of Road Town, British Virgin Islands. It comprises three jetties with 106 berthing slips, most of which have 40-foot finger piers and can accommodate vessels up to 180 feet in length. The marina is a popular spot for locals and visitors, offering well-equipped rooms with powerful AC and on-site laundry facilities.
Village Cay provided a clean and comfortable room during our stay in Road Town. The real highlight was the unbeatable location - central to everything Road Town has to offer. Having visited Tortola twice before, we can confidently say this is where we'll stay again on our next trip based on the location alone. Great choice for convenient access to local shops and restaurants and a short walk to the ferry terminal!

The condos could stand a little updating, but overall a very pleasant stay. Private entrance and patio space out back with a beautiful garden and views of the mountains of Tortola. Waterfront dining. Great location, walking distance to everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Mikeysmom87 — Google review
The rooms are fine but could use some updating. The main reason for the low rating is the insanely loud DJ music blaring for 4.5 hours from 6-10:30pm. Our requests to kindly stop the music or at least turn down the volume were declined. The next night (Saturday) was Karaoke Night with all manner of bad, drunk singing late into the evening. It wasn’t nearly as bad as the club music the night before. Also we had no access to the pool on Saturday afternoon —the one day we could have used it— because it was rented out for a private birthday party. Perhaps this property manager thinks he’s managing an entertainment venue rather than a hotel? Be forewarned.

A quiet harbour side, marina. Wonderful staff and well cooked delicious food, we had the fried chicken. Located close to the cruise terminal yet just off the beaten track, a local sense of place for slow, pleasurable sipping.

It was hard to find a place to park at first but we finally found the parking lot for the Administration bldg which allows public parking. The walk from there was not long at all, maybe 5 mins. We almost missed the entrance because of the direction we were coming from. Someone who works at the marina asked us if we needed any help and then told us we could sit at the picnic table and wait for our boat. They were very nice. There are bathrooms nearby, and a restaurant and bar very close.
Christine C — Google review
Located right on the front overlooking the marina. Good service and a great location for a couple of drinks. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food orthe hotel. Free WiFi.

Booked the executive suite which has a great view of the marina. Check-in was great and people lovely. Was disappointed at the bar, ordering 2 short glass cocktails which came to $26+tip. Spoke to some locals who said that was a crazy price even for BVI. Rooms are what you would expect for BVI which is a little dated and worn. Did wake up in the middle of the night to hear music blasting like it was in our room. So if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to find another hotel. Overall location is great with easy access to shopping.

I work in the hospitality industry and trust me I know people are very hard to please. Although I’m a local, the staff is very inviting from the front desk to the restaurant everyone that I came access was nice. The rooms are not bad for the price. You get a view either of the city or the ocean, very spacious and comfortable bedding. My only issue was, at 9am one of the housekeepers knocked on my door at 9am and proceeded to enter after no answer saying that she thought I already checked out.(assuming was miscommunication) The restaurant is very breezy at times which is good for a covered, open aired restaurant. Food and drinks never disappointed me. Conference rooms are very spacious and can be altered to your needs. My wedding reception was there and from Ms. Christopher, both mother and daughter, to the cooks and wait staff, everyone was great. 4/5 overall as there are always room for improvements I do Recommend

Rooms are comfortable but there is no way to really control temp, even when you put what you want, the system will change it to whatever it wants. No ice machines in the building, have to get ice from the bar which closes at 10. Location is very good. Had lots of trouble with the bathroom, low water pressure, barely warm water and toilet not flushing. They were able to fix pressure in the sink and the toilet issues, but not the water temp. Parking available on site but with very limited spaces.

Remarkable. An marketplace oasis of top-shelf pantry and international food items. The deli sandwiches and pastries are worth every penny. Impressive cheese and olive oil selections. One of the few places in BVI to offer a good variety of teas. When the temperatures hit 90F, it's nice to be able to duck in and buy cold Italian sodas, and cartons of mango sorbet and strawberry ice cream bars. Friendly and courteous service. No complaints.

Employees at the market had no idea of what was available or not. Said they had nothing available with eggs (they had quiche), asked about water with gas, said only had still (perrier bottles in front of my face). Ordered coffee, said only had normal sugar and ordered a tomato soup… guess what? They didn’t had any spoons!!!

C'est parfait!! All that's missing is a french accent! We stumbled across this place on Google. We were pleasantly surprised by the nice indoor aesthetic. Inside was clean and well organized. Lovely authentic french treats(pain au Chocolat, croissants), french baguettes 🥖 , a very large selection of french cheeses and wines , desserts like ice cream, eclairs and yogurts and lots of snacks for the kids (kinder chocolate, Nutella biscuits and haribo gummy treats) We got ourselves a tarte au framboise (strawberry tart) 🍓 , it was 10/10 and those ham and cheese croissants were a big hit among my kids (who are the pickiest of eaters) The outdoor seating area was quaint, quiet and relaxing. The service was very nice, friendly, welcoming and quick! I'd def recommend the orangina blood orange soda-it was really good! We'll definately be back...and we'll bring some friends too!

Amazing pastries, amazing coffee, but staff not very friendly, especially person making my coffee. Made snide comments with how looked. Sorry if I looked scruffy. I just got off a 9 day charter. Still would go back if i was here longer for the pastries, but it made me feel pretty insignificant. I guess they expect high-end clients only.

This became our 'go-to' place for quality food items for our dinner while my family was on the island. A great place to buy prepared foods as well for quick, simple meals. We also enjoyed the coffee choices and pastries.

Cane Garden Bay, located on the northern coast of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, is a popular destination known for its picturesque sandy beaches, vibrant beachfront bars and restaurants, and a bustling marina. Despite being a well-visited spot for cruise ships and yachts, the bay offers ample space for visitors to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings. The area boasts beautiful views of Jost van Dyke and is surrounded by impressive mountains.
Nice beach with a lot of chairs with umbrellas ($25 for pair of chairs and umbrella). Some of vendors are offering free WiFi. Taxi price from the cruise port is $24 round trip per person.
Tatiana S — Google review
On the island of Tortola, we experienced an excellent beach and the amenities including WiFi that allowed us to stay connected which was a great plus. The water was magnificent and the drinks were great from the Miami Vice, the Painkiller and the like. The heat was intense and the swimming helped so powerfully and the transportation through the mountains was an added feature from the pier. So definitely come visit Cane Garden Bay and create an excellent experience.

Nice beach in Tortola. Not much for snorkeling. You can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas and get food and drinks.
Mitch G — Google review
Very "touristy" but also beautiful. Great water, lots to do, fun ride over the mountains to get there. $20 gets you 2 chairs and a umbrella + a private shower $24 gets you round trip transport from cruise $10 gets you all day on the water trampoline $7 gets a good drink $5 a good snack $45+ jet ski rental
Bruce M — Google review
Beautiful beach and waters. About 20 minutes from the cruise port. Plenty of taxes that charge $10 each way, we had an open aired taxi. If you suffer from motion sickness just fyi it’s a bumpy ride with hills.. beach was packed. Knocking off 2 stars because you don’t really have the option of choosing your own set up. The beach is covered in vendors beach chairs and umbrellas. We brought beach blankets but weren’t able to use them because the vendors don’t want you in their area unless you purchase from them. There was also an argument between two vendors trying to sell us chairs and it left us feeling a little uncomfortable. There’s plenty of options for food and drinks and a gift shop. Return taxi runs every hour. Overall felt safe but be prepared for the vendors.
Angela C — Google review
Pretty little beach in Tortola. We ate at Rhymers, one of several restaurants right on the beach. The food was really good, as was the service. There are severs who walk the beach if you want food or drinks without getting up from your Chairs and- umbrellas (which cost us $20). There are bathrooms, but they are small and worn out looking. Getting there is pretty scary if you're not used to narrow, twisting roads with steep drops and fast drivers. We were not bothered here by any vendors, so that was a big plus.
Dennis S — Google review
This is on of the most beautiful beaches we’ve ever cruised too! It’s much bigger than it looks in pictures. Lots space for you to spread out. We had an awesome server from Rhymers who always made sure we had plenty to drink and eat.
Roxanne B — Google review
This was a great time! Ask for the taxi driver named Cupid Her customer service and driving was fantastic got us from port to the beach, picked us up when we asked excellent way to and from the beach. While at the beach, most definitely take snorkeling gear and rent a paddle board! It’s a great way to check out the local ship wreck and see tons of sea life. It’s 100% worth the trip!

Step back in time and experience the rich history of rum production at Callwood Rum Distillery. This centuries-old sugar plantation and distillery offers a fascinating glimpse into the Caribbean's past, with vintage equipment, museum displays, and tastings. As the oldest continuously operating rum distillery in the region, it has preserved its original methods from the 18th century. Visitors can witness antique boilers and original stills while sampling aged rum or purchasing modern-day versions.
The Callwood Distillery is a real find. This place has been making rum for over 400 years. They still use the same original still and a press that’s over 200 years old. It is $5 per person for a tour that is about 10-15 minutes, it’s well done and worth it. You can get a taste of all four of their rums for $1 afterwards. If you are there while they are making rum you can see the still at work. The sugarcane used is all grown on Tortola. I wouldn’t expect to spend more that 20 minutes here if it’s isn’t crowded. It’s a short walk from Cane Garden beach. Definitely stop in.

Excellent tour and excellent rum. This hidden gem is close to a gorgeous beach and is full of charm. Our guide mark was poised and knowledgeable and fun. 20 minute cab ride over hill from cruise port. We highly recommend!
Kari C — Google review
I was disappointed we visited the distillery on September 9th, 2025, today and it was closed because it’s slow season. Lots of bars and restaurants are close on the beach for repairs. We were recommended to rhythms and sands restaurants and th b server Alexandria took great care of us. Check-in it out
Out O — Google review
Wonderful story of the 400 years of production and still using most of the old machines and boilers. Very impressive and very tasty Rum at a great price
Darren B — Google review
A must see on the island, this unique small and truly rustic distillery was fully functional and dated back to the 1600’s, original building, very interesting. Sample the rum… very fun labels.
Jack S — Google review
The Rum made at this family owned 400yr old distillery is very good. Wonderful to learn the history of the place and the tasting of 5 rums for a $1. Bottles are reasonable priced.
TG — Google review
I had an amazing time there last week. The rum line-up was a lot of fun I was taken back by the facility that was 400 years old and yet it still produces rum the same way all on the same site. Our nation was discover 400 years ago and this little rum producer was there producing rum for as long as we existed!!!
Gregory V — Google review
Fun stop when in Cane Garden Bay. This distillery is over 400 years old. Don’t expect a lot, but it is fun to see how they make the rum and you get to do 5 tastings with your tour! We loved a couple of the rums and bought to take home.

Queen Elizabeth II National Park

National park
Queen Elizabeth II National Park, established in 1974, is a historic park featuring a diverse range of indigenous and exotic flora such as white cedar. The park offers a children's playground and boasts a picturesque green landscape with traditional British Virgin Islands history and art displayed on unique signs. Visitors can enjoy the scenic view of Road Harbour while taking advantage of well-maintained facilities including bathrooms and shaded areas for relaxation.
Very nice park area with reasonably maintained bathrooms, a great playground area and a picturesque view of your cruise ship and the boats in Road Harbour. Covered areas to get some shade and lots of room to run for those with energy to burn! About a 15-20 minute 1 km walk westward along Waterfront Drive at the pace of an 6 year old!
Gnosia E — Google review
Great little park for a walk from the cruise port. Public bathrooms, nice views and paved paths. Playground was closed when we visited, possible maintenance work.
Allison L — Google review
Since we had to wait a while for our excursion, we decided to explore a bit and go check out this park. However I apart from the Tortola sign, the park seems a abandoned and not well kept. There is construction going on nearby, so the access to the park is awful, and the park itself doesn't have any interest. That's a shame...
André M — Google review
The Queen Elizabeth II Park has a light green scenery, and it seems to have a very unique and highly decorated sign filled with the traditional history and arts of the British Virgin Islands, the park itself is close to shore and it has a few trees in the main park. There are only a few shelters that can prevent persons from being wet in the rain, and that is where they can like take pictures of themselves. (specifically like selfies) The next part of the park has it's own playground. I have never been to that area, but it seems to look charming and filled with enough joy to make kids under 7 years old have fun without any consequences. These are my pictures with myself and my classmates and teachers. I will rate this park an 8.4/10

Nice park off the beaten path over looking the docks

There nothing to really see here as far as a tourist goes. There were locals running the track and doing yoga. There was a nice view of the cruise ships, but other than that there's nothing to see.

Great experience! Dolphins are well looked after. We did the royal package and booked online. Cheaper than thomson excursion. Only $5US Dollars in a taxi from the port.
Jord N — Google review
Our Dolphin Discovery experience was the highlight of our cruise!!! We arrived early and one of the trainers took us on a tour of the facility. We lucked out and were the only 2 in our group, so we wound up getting to spend extra time with the dolphins. We started off with the "baby" dolphin, helping to "train" him. Then we moved over to the alpha male for the real fun. Hands down a once in a lifetime experience. Well worth every penny spent. The dolphins were AWESOME!!! The staff was courteous and knowledgeable.
DJ P — Google review
An exceptionall experience! The best shore excursions on this cruise. Our trainer was so knowledgeable and patient. A memory for a lifetime! Great staff and, of course, the dolphins were awesome! Such beautiful creatures!
Joyce W — Google review
We were there in March 2016. It is a well run setup. If you have observer tickets (about 28 bucks), take your camcorder/camera with you. There is no restrictions on taking pictures or videos. Their professional photographs are pretty good too (about 99 bucks for the first set. cheaper per person if you have multiple people doing the Dolphin swim). Our kids loved it. The shuttle ride is about 10 mins from the dock.
S I — Google review
I was instantly turned off when entering Dolphin Descovery. I felt guilty for even being there. Their habitats were small and dirty. The water was so green you couldn't see anything. There didn't seem to be any organization and they were 30 minutes late getting us into the water. To top it off 2 of my 4 boys were stung by jelly fish multiple times. My 7 year old and 17 month old were crying and their legs were covered in welts. Especially my 7 year old. I asked what would cause this to happen and they played dumb saying it was probably just the salt water and that they had a spray upstairs we could apply. When applying it I realized the spray was vinegar. When we shared our experience with our cab driver he told us it was jelly fish. He stated that they are horrible this time of year. It was a horrible experience and I ashamed to have given this facility my financial support. DO NOT make the same mistake we did. Stay clear of that place!!!
Christy P — Google review
It was very fun, the trainer was great. The dolphins were very well trained and it was wonderful. They dolphins had plenty of room to stay in and they were treated well. I would recommend this to anyone.
Gray H — Google review
Alberto (trainer/handler), Coco, & Desiree (dolphins) were phenomenal. Blew us out of the water (both figuratively and literally). The four of us got the premier package, nice to have a full lunch afterwords (anything on the menu). Beautiful setting. You knew they treated their wildlife with the utmost respect. Kudos.

DON'T MAKE A RESERVATION - THEY ARE NOT HONEST PEOPLE - 10% penalty if you cancel and they don't give you your refunds! I made a reservation for my family to do the Dolphin Adventure. I was on a Carnival Cruise docking St. Thomas and was trying to figure out what ferry services we can take from St. Thomas to Tortola. I emailed them for some guidance and NO REPLY. So, I didn't want to risk it and decided to cancel. They do have a cancellation policy where they penalize you 10% if you cancel. I was willing to accept the penalty BUT they didn't process my refund (even now - one month later). They gave me the run-around saying it will be on my paypal account instead of back on my credit card because it's "faster". They told me that the representative that I was dealing with has left the company. They told me to call back an hour later when their supervisors are "in". I have wasted so much time with over 10 emails and 3 phone calls so far and it hasn't ended yet.

Quitos Gazebo & Luxury Inn is a vibrant and lively property located near Tortola's Cane Bay Beach. The inn offers 21 rooms, each named after a song by local reggae legend Quito Rymer. From the 400-square-foot Deluxe Suites to the spacious Cool Water Suite, accommodations are decorated in contemporary Caribbean style with bright white and blue tones. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a small spa, pool, nightly happy hours, and live music at the Gazebo.
We anchored here for the night. There is a Regatta going on, on the other side of the island so not so crowded. We were told we didn’t need reservations and were able to walk in and be seated right away. The atmosphere was nice and our servers were friendly. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, BBQ ribs and a beet salad. The beet salad was more of a green salad and lacking when it comes to beets. The Marsala was a good size breast and not cutlets as I make it. It was tender and favorable. The ribs were fall of the bone goodness. just a little to much sauce but some like it that way. we finished off the evening with a slice of pecan pie and glad we tried it and split it. some have commented on the music negatively. it appears it changes nightly. tonight we enjoyed it. one guy on a keyboard playing and singing reggae. we really enjoyed him.

Great Hotel! Booked a room for the night after an extended yacht tour throughout BVI and was greeted by Nicole at the front desk. Nicole was so genuine in her deliverance and hospitality which made every asked question seem as though it was never a bother. Highly recommend you stay here! Excellent hospitality, luxurious rooms and very well maintained. Thanks Nicole for all of your help and booking us a great massage and excellent dinner reservations!! -Texas

What a great gem. From the taxi ride to the moment we arrived at Quito’s, we were so well taken take care of. They had the best margaritas…too good actually 😂🥴 This beach is sooo beautiful. We came for a day on NCL Encore. Would highly recommend Quito’s on Cane Garden beach. You can use the chairs for free when you order from their bar/ restaurant.

We had a wonderful time at Quito’s! The staff were all warm and welcoming. Dave was so friendly and attentive to the beach and taught us a lot about the beach and the island. We were the VERY last guests of the season and Sherika made us feel so special, provided amazing service and was so much fun! We loved the food and drinks and the live music was really amazing.

This place is a NO GO!! Terrible experience. Server was not informed of menu. Manager scared to talk to us. Appetizers below par quality. Could not stay for the whole meal and had to cancel our food order. Went right over to Paradise bar with phenomenal food and service. Taco Bell could have been better. The only good thing was the musician.
Trygve W — Google review
This review is only for the restaurant. Appetizers were great,.views were great... and the place is new looking and nice. That's the end of the.good stuff. The entres took over an hour to show up at the table (over 90 minutes from our arrival) and when they finally did the food was lukewarm. Furthermore, the food flavor was pretty bland. The muscles were inedible as they had clearly been sitting out so long before coming to the table... The place was not even that busy (we were one of four tables). The service staff apologized and took some money off our bill, but this was the worst food I've had in a while.
David S — Google review
Restaurant only review. We were a largeish party of 10 and they were able to seat us without a reservation. Easy to get to by dingy as there is a dingy dock at the restaurant. This is a new structure since Irma and everything had a nice CGB feel to it. The sunset views are priceless and everything we ordered came out quickly, was warm and certainly met our taste expectations. Would come here again.
Lisa W — Google review
At the restaurant the conch and jerk chicken wings are a must (big shout out to chef for making that addicting jerk wing sauce). We ate these every day at the beach bar and once for dinner we liked the wings that much. Great drinks, the jerk chicken pasta was also pretty good. Super friendly people and pretty decent happy hour at the bar
