Supermarket
Jumbo in La Romana, Dominican Republic is a popular supermarket among locals and visitors alike. It offers a wide selection of groceries and everyday items at great prices. The store features a full food court, bank, cellular store, and ample parking. Customers can find fresh fruits and vegetables at the beginning of each month. The supermarket also houses fast-food restaurants for post-shopping meals. Jumbo is known for its cleanliness, well-stocked shelves, and friendly staff.
It's a very good grocery store. It's clean with a good variety of items. There are also other stores inside of it from restaurants to Western Union
Jay P — Google review
This was I really busy place. It was hard to find parking and even harder to get out of the parking lot. I was actually a little nervous with how crowd it was. Once you get into the store the employees were very polite. You can find just about anything you’re looking for.
Veronica E — Google review
As far as I am concerned Jumbo offers the best level of service with international level of merchandise and business understanding - it’s not perfect but certainly the best in La Romana. Additionally, they do have pretty good range of foreign goods which you will not find in Higuey or San Pedro de Macoris.

Wonderful supermarket, great prices, selection that rivals anything in the USA, full food court, bank, cellular store, everything you could ask for. Their fruits and vegetables arrive fresh at the beginning of the month so make sure you're there on time!

They had 10 containers of this yogurt on the shelf but when I tried to check out they said it wasn’t for sale. They sent an associate like they were going to figure something out then 15 minutes later still said they couldn’t sell it to me. Complete idiots.

Park
Nature & Parks
Duarte Central Park, located in La Romana, is a popular spot for both locals and tourists. Despite its relatively small size, the park offers a pleasant environment with shaded benches and well-maintained greenery. Visitors can admire statues of baseball players and Padre de la Patria while enjoying the surrounding restaurants and souvenir stores. The park is known for its relaxed atmosphere, attracting families, friends, and even the LGBTQ community.
Central Park is the place to be, with food trucks conveniently lined up on the south side of the park, offering a variety of tasty options. For the best pasteles de yuca and plátanos, head to the small food truck right on the corner—you won’t be disappointed! The food is fantastic, and I highly recommend visiting after 6 pm when everything is in full swing. While the park is generally quiet, it’s best to go with a friend or group, especially at night, for added safety. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and some of the best street food La Romana has to offer!

Just a small park
Shirley — Google review
It's a small park that seems more like a plaza to me. There are many benches with trees that provide shade, so you can have a seat and relax. Around the park are bus stops and stations, adding to its importance. I'd suggest not going there at night though (especially if you're a tourist) because you might get robbed.
Jerry R — Google review
Love the park, has a nice plaza in the center. During holidays this place is packed with all sorts of touristic attractions showing off their country culture. No need to worry about being mugged, cause there is a police officer at every corner of the park at almost all times.

Mediterranean restaurant

Dominican restaurant
Shish Kabab is a delightful restaurant located in La Romana, offering a diverse selection of traditional Middle Eastern cuisine. Despite being in the Caribbean, this eatery provides an alternative dining experience with its Mediterranean delicacies. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, along with private parking and attentive security. It's a great option for vegetarians, providing a variety of flavorful dishes such as falafel, tabbouleh, hummus, and shish kebab.
Beginning with parking, always available. Then you have the choice of outside in a very nice shaded area or inside. The environment is friendly, spacious. I have been there several times therefore I can make a good review. The Palestinians, Libaneses and typical Dominican food are so delicious with the dessert and natural juices. It is a must place to visit. It is a restaurant that I bring my families, friends and relatives in addition to speak about this great place.

Food was amazing, service was very slow. Took almost 45 minutes from placing order til receiving our food
Rob W — Google review
It is a good place; the location is good, but it is a little loud because of the traffic. However, if you eat inside, everything will be perfect. The food is amazing, but the service is a little strange. I have been here twice, and the service is the same. I am talking about the waiters; sometimes they disappear, and sometimes they do not bring the things you have ordered. Otherwise, everything is good.
Angel T — Google review
Everything was perfect, the food, the wine, the service all excellent. Great to have a vegan selection also in DR which is rare to find. It was raining on departure but complimentary umbrellas were produced for the short trip to the dedicated car park and to the car. They even had my favourite wine - Protos. Well worth the price.

Stadium
Estadio Francisco A. Micheli, located in the La Romana area of the Dominican Republic, is a beautiful baseball stadium where you can catch a game and experience the local passion for their national sport. Home to the team Los Toros (The Bulls), it offers a picturesque setting and an opportunity to immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere during baseball season from October to January. The well-groomed field and small seating capacity create an intimate experience, with easy access to concessions and restrooms.
This stadium is gorgeous. It is in the, La Romana area of the Dominican Republic where there are beautiful tourist areas. This stadium did not disappoint. I did a Dominican Republic baseball stadium tour and this was my first stadium. It was a beautiful site. I bought all the baseball caps from each team and this cap is beautiful. It reminds me of Tennessee Volunteers then looks like a bull. The name of the team is, Los Toros (The Bulls). Highly recommend you come during the winter months to catch a great baseball game.
Wilson R — Google review
In April, it's not baseball season in the Dominican Republic, but it's their national sport, and they love their fans so much that the stadium is open to visitors for a look. A seniorita from the office even opened the shop so we could pick up bright orange Toros gear. By U.S. standards, the field is well groomed, but seating capacity is kinda small. They pack these places during their Nov-Feb season. Worth the time!
Don R — Google review
I went there with a medium group and we manage to get some balls for the children. It was amazing for them.
Saladin J — Google review
We visited the stadium with our two young boys to catch a game. We felt safe the entire time and enjoyed the atmosphere very much! There is a gift shop with jerseys, hats, and other small items. We ordered fried chicken and a couple sodas. We did not know that you order and wait to pay till after the game. Leaving the game some locals tried to sell us some foul balls for $7 a ball.

Playa Caleta La Romana is a small, remote beach that offers a local experience away from the tourist areas. It's a public beach frequented by locals, featuring sandy shores and rock outcrops for jumping into the sea. Visitors can witness how locals have fun and savor authentic cuisine. The Malecon Caleta provides beautiful views of Isla Catalina, offering opportunities for scuba diving and snorkeling while enjoying the white sand beach.
This small beach is located in the Malecon. We really enjoyed this spot. It had bars and restaurants.

VERY small public beach with a strong smell of fish. A lot of rocks too. This is basically the only free attraction to visit in La Romana. There is literally nothing else to do other than staying in Casa de Campo.
Ludwig — Google review
Not a good beach. Extremely disappointed. Too many rocks and no place to swim. People are friendly and accommodating. Lacks good restaurants.
Abhi S — Google review
Nice beach and restaurants. Good music.
Legault L — Google review
There is no entry fee, but there is a guy with a long sick that will charge you about $RD 50 for parking if you're not careful. There's only a small section of the beach to actually swim in, the rest is very rocky and has spiky sea urchins. But, even if you don't swim, the beach is very peaceful and not littered with tourists although there were buildings being built while I was there so that may change soon. A nice place to have a meal and enjoy the sea.

Nola was such a great find in La Romana! We went in with a group of 5 adults and 2 babies. The menu had lots of variety and options and the food was easily some of the best food I've had on the island. We tried lots of things on the menu and every single thing was SO GOOD and extremely well priced. The wait staff and owner were so patient with us and checked in often to make sure everything was great during our meal. We will definitely be back!

Chicken restaurant
KFC, the iconic restaurant chain famous for its mouthwatering buckets of fried chicken, has recently opened a new location that’s already buzzing with excitement. While the staff is still getting accustomed to their roles, they are dedicated to providing excellent service and delicious meals. The menu features fixed combo sets along with tasty sides, but customers should note that there isn’t an option for custom orders just yet.
Amazing people working there and the food was delicious too😍
Yolifer M — Google review
Went there for a pop corn chicken with mashed potatoes. They didn't have mashed potatoes ready, so I had to wait like 10 minutes for that. They almost charged me more money for changing my soda flavor. Thankfully, I asked why it was like 2 more dollars, and she said because I changed from cup to plastic bottle soda. I replied, I only asked for a different flavor, not a different presentation. The worst part of this place is the smell. It would seem like the Kitchen Extractor fans are not working, and there is a very nasty smell of grease. Also, as I came in, 2 employees were going out, they didn't even greet or kept the door open for me. 2 employees inside were on their phones and also didn't greet. The cashier never looked at me in the eyes. Management should revise why employees are not happy.

Ordered on line for delivery exactly 9 pieces of fried chicken mixed, 4 mashed potatoes,1 water and 1grape soda. INSTEAD, I got 9 drumsticks, 4 french fries, and 2 red sodas. COMPLETELY WRONG the whole order. All cold and relly not fit for cunsumption. I called the store and I was told that they would make it right but no, i was given just one bottle of water and the mashed potatoes tasted horrible. Needless to say I was very dissapointed. Ido not reccomend this store.
Miguel G — Google review
They were washing and cleaning the floor right next to our food being prepared. The roof panels were off. The lady mopping the floor in the kitchen , begrudgingly (after changing gloves -thank God ) went and picked up our food after a super long wait. Also was able to see them marinate the raw chicken in the background which appeared a tad unhygienic as they were mopping and cleaning out the oven next to it so unless you have a very resistant gut , don't recommend .
Sabeer M — Google review
Food is ok, service is terrible. Got charged twice on my card for 1 transaction. During the transaction the woman said, "rayos", long story short is that I was charged almost 700PRD for my meal of 350PrD and the manager refuse to do anything. Making me go back to the bank to get the money. I told him they lost a 300+ lbs client and I have not returned. I would rather go anywhere else than here. Some good places right around the corner.

With a menu that boasts classic favorites like pasta and pizza alongside delectable seafood options, there's something for every palate. Punto Italia is particularly renowned for its mouthwatering dishes; the seafood pasta has garnered quite a following among regulars who can't resist returning for more.
We went for dinner and we loved it! From the service to the food and ambiance-it was great. We shared a rucula and parmesan salad as a starter which was delicious. My husband chose pasta marinara with cream sauce and i had a pizza: half four cheeses and the other half prosciutto, rucula and cherry tomatoes. Both dishes were delicious! For desert we shared a coconut flan which was a good choice - great flavor and not too sweet. Totally recommend this place!!

Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, La Caña Bar and Lounge draws its name from the surrounding sugar cane fields that have been a vital part of La Romana's economy for over a century. This establishment showcases local ingredients in its French-inspired cuisine. The bar and lounge area is a popular spot for guests to unwind with live music, hand-rolled cigars, and an extensive selection of Dominican rums.
A French delight! We had a wonderful experience dining here. First, we got a pair of servers, and they were beyond 5 stars. Highly informative from each dish to every wine my wife quizzed them about. We got a couple of appetizers before our meals. Steak tartar, truffle fries, French onion soup, butternut soup, steak, and mushroom risotto. All was out of this world. Steak Tartar is probably the best I've ever had. They even made me a Limeade since I don't drink, but I wanted something a little different than ice tea. Then we got some delicious dessert. Afterward we went to their outside bar and hung with some friends. Would highly recommend having a dining experience here, I can't see how you would be disappointed.
Anthony C — Google review
I really wanted to like La Caña Bar, but overall the experience left a lot to be desired. The staff didn’t come across as friendly—in fact, they often seemed annoyed or inconvenienced when I ordered food or drinks. Even though I made sure to tip, their attitude didn’t improve, which was disappointing. The all-inclusive aspect was a nice perk, but it felt like the service didn’t match the value. As for the entertainment, the music was underwhelming. It was billed as a live band, but it honestly sounded more like a pre-recorded set, and it wasn’t clear if the performers were actually playing. I get that working in hospitality can be draining, especially at an all-inclusive spot, but a little warmth and enthusiasm would’ve gone a long way.
Chris E — Google review
Service is phenomenal and the food is tasty. Wonderful food options for gluten free. They asked about food allergies when seated. Gluten free bread for the table available upon request. The gluten free bread is sliced baguette, so not able to be used for the burgers as a bun. We ate here for dinner one night and then came back for lunch today. Both times the food and service was above and beyond.

This restaurant is also open all day, but their menu doesn’t get very interesting until lunchtime. It is very centrally located so convenience is a plus, and it’s also right next to the pool with a swim-up bar. As with every other on-property restaurant here, service is superb.

Located in the heart of Casa de Campo, La Caña delivers a dining experience that blends elegant Caribbean ambiance with genuinely attentive service. From the moment we were seated on the terrace, overlooking the main pool and surrounded by soft candlelight and the sound of gentle conversation, the atmosphere felt refined yet comfortably relaxed. Service was excellent throughout. Our server was thoughtful and engaging, offering suggestions without being pushy, and timing each course to perfection. I started with the goat cheese salad, which came beautifully plated and well-balanced: peppery arugula, sweet cherry tomatoes, and candied walnuts over soft, creamy cheese that brought the whole dish together. Fresh, vibrant, and generous in portion, it was one of the best starters I’ve had in a resort setting. For my main course, I ordered the rack of lamb, one of the highlights of the menu. It arrived perfectly pink at the center, with a lightly crisp crust and a jus that enhanced without overwhelming. Each bite was tender and flavorful. My daughter chose the grilled steak with fries, which was sliced and served with a dark, savory sauce and a side of golden, crispy fries presented in a silver tin , a simple dish done impeccably well. To drink, I had a glass of Malbec, which was smooth, dark-fruited, and paired wonderfully with the lamb. Their wine list includes quality options by the glass, and the servers are happy to guide you if you’re unsure what to choose. For dessert, we couldn’t resist the molten chocolate cake, served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was rich, gooey at the center, with just the right balance of sweetness and bitterness , and a light dusting of powdered sugar that made it look as good as it tasted. The contrast of hot chocolate and cold, creamy ice cream was as satisfying as it gets. Though La Caña sits within one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious resorts, it avoids the generic, overly formal tone that sometimes comes with that. Here, the elegance feels effortless, and the food speaks for itself. They often feature live music on weekends and there’s a happy hour in the adjacent lounge area, usually from 5 to 7 PM , perfect for enjoying a cocktail before dinner. Casa de Campo has long attracted celebrities, dignitaries, and athletes, and La Caña is one of those places where you wouldn’t be surprised to see someone famous dining a few tables away , though the real star here is the consistency of the kitchen and the genuine warmth of the staff. La Caña is an excellent choice whether you’re staying at the resort or coming in for a special evening. It’s polished without being stiff, flavorful without being showy , a restaurant that delivers exactly what a resort like Casa de Campo promises, with style and substance. The food is excellent. Drinks are top quality as well. I believe is the best restaurant in the incluvise package at Casa de Campo resort. In lunch, our favorites dishes were: Shrimp ceviche, Truffle burguer, NY steak and the salads. In dinner our favorites were: Filet mignon, Cajun chicken and Rack of Lamb. For dessert, you must try the Coulant de Chocolate; it is excellent.

We had the best experience at La Caña. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere made every meal unforgettable at the restaurant. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Casa de Campo. Our waiter by the pool, R. Robison, was fantastic, very knowledgeable about the food and drinks, attentive, and truly professional.

Altos de Chavón is a recreated 16th-century Mediterranean village situated on the Chavon River in La Romana, Dominican Republic. This cultural center features an archeological museum showcasing Taino artifacts and a Grecian-style amphitheater that has hosted renowned musicians since its opening in 1982. The village boasts cobblestone streets, restaurants, bars, shops, art galleries, and craft workshops.
Need to prepare passport and sign documents before buying tickets to enter the area. The architecture is so interesting here. Every few steps is a cute angle or view of the houses. So pleasant to walk around. There are a lot of stores and restaurants. The village is very small but very interesting. Super cute place.

Historic charm and spectacular views. We spent the day walking around, visiting shops, and tasting food and drink. You may catch a wedding or a concert on any day.

This is a place you have to visit once in your lifetime. An amphitheatre that is carved in the stone, just look at the pictures and judge for yourself, also if you like golf you can enjoy the best golf course in the Caribbean and possibly all Latinoamérica in Casa De Campo as well.

This place is an oasis. If you are interested in craftsmanship, history and supporting local artisans, this is the place. We absolutely loved the church, the amphitheater, and the museum was the highlight for us. Learning about the local indigenous culture and seeing original artifacts. If you want an experience that’s a little more special… and to find a souvenir that really means something, this is the place. There are small boutiques, and artists studios to visit. We didn’t eat there, but there are restaurants as well.

Beautiful Mediterranean inspired church and village perched on the cliffs overlooking the Chavon River. Even after finding out it was a real estate development project in the 80s, the stone work, landscape, and charm of this spot transports you in time.

What an amazing place! It is such a romantic and magical place! Had the opportunity to celebrate our wedding anniversary and had the most delicious dinner with an out of this world view!!
Crismarlyn J — Google review
A Hidden Mediterranean Village in the Heart of the Caribbean. Perched above the winding Chavón River, Altos de Chavón feels like stepping into another world where time slows down and stone-paved streets tell stories of art, music, and culture. Designed in the late 1970s as a tribute to 16th-century Mediterranean villages, this one-of-a-kind place was brought to life by Dominican architect José Antonio Caro and Italian designer Roberto Coppa. Built entirely by local artisans using limestone, handcrafted wood, and wrought iron, every corner of the village carries the warmth and pride of its makers. Visitors enter through the gates of Casa de Campo, the private resort that surrounds Altos de Chavón. Guests of the resort can access the village freely, while outside visitors pay an entry fee that typically ranges from 25 to 50 dollars per person, depending on what’s included. Once inside, you’ll find narrow cobblestone streets lined with artisan shops, galleries, and cafés, along with stunning views of the river valley below. One of the most visited spots is the small but beautiful St. Stanislaus Church, where a relic from the saint himself, ashes sent by Pope John Paul II, rests behind the altar. At the heart of the village is the amphitheater, a 5,000-seat open-air venue carved into the hillside. Since its grand opening concert in 1982 featuring Frank Sinatra, the stage has welcomed some of the world’s biggest performers including Elton John, Andrea Bocelli, Juan Luis Guerra, Sting, Plácido Domingo, Luis Miguel, and Marc Anthony. With its impressive acoustics and dramatic backdrop, the amphitheater offers a unique concert experience under the stars. Altos de Chavón also offers several excellent dining options. Alegría serves a varied menu with breathtaking views of the river, with favorites like lobster rice, croquetas, and perfectly grilled churrasco. Onno’s Café, just steps from the amphitheater, is a laid-back spot popular for cocktails and quick bites. Other notable places include Chilango Taquería for tacos, La Piazzetta for Italian dishes, and Dye Fore Bar for drinks with a panoramic view. It’s important to note that after 5 p.m., non-resort guests are not allowed to dine in the village unless invited by someone staying in Casa de Campo, so plan accordingly if you’re visiting for the day. Parking is simple and close to the entrance, especially near Onno’s. The village is best explored on foot, but wear comfortable shoes, as the cobblestone paths can be uneven. Arriving early in the day allows for a quieter visit and the best photo opportunities, while sunset brings a magical glow over the river valley that’s hard to forget. Altos de Chavón also houses a fascinating archaeological museum with thousands of artifacts from pre-Columbian cultures. For those interested in hands-on experiences, there are art studios offering pottery, weaving, and silkscreen workshops. The village is home to a prestigious design school affiliated with Parsons, making it a creative hub where you’re just as likely to meet students sketching as tourists exploring. On certain weekends, you might stumble upon a local artisan market, with live music and handcrafts adding even more charm to an already special visit. Concert nights bring the village to life, and if you plan ahead, attending a show at the amphitheater is an unforgettable highlight. Altos de Chavón isn’t just a tourist attraction. It’s a carefully crafted escape filled with beauty, history, and inspiration. Whether you’re drawn by the architecture, the art, the music, or the peaceful atmosphere, this hilltop village offers a glimpse into something truly timeless in the heart of the Dominican Republic.

Amphitheater
Altos de Chavón Amphitheatre is a unique 5,000-seat venue located in the Dominican Republic. It offers a picturesque setting for various events, including corporate gatherings and weddings. The amphitheater's design resembles that of a charming Italian village, with modern buildings housing shops and restaurants. Additionally, the area provides opportunities for activities such as team-building exercises and beach Olympics.
Tickets cost 50 dollars each and it is worth it. The ticket covers the grounds, theatre etc, visitors to the marine and beach. My comments are doing justice it's worth a visit. Loads of places to eat as well. Beach towels are covered in the cost. The only con is the constant checks at security and reception. They took copies of our passport and driving licences, why must we keep showing this.
Mandy W — Google review
Beautiful amphitheater. Free to visit when there’s no event taking place. Many concerts and movies filmed here, including Alicia Keys music video for karma.

It’s beautiful. The 50 dollar per person to see it may not make it worth it unless you also visit the casa de campo facilities( marina and beach are included in the price )that day.

Breathtakingly gorgeous place to visit within Alto de Chavon at Casa de Campo. It inspires the feeling of visiting the ancient Roman Empire. Spectacular spot for a short rest and meditation. As a bonus, the amphitheater has the cleanest restrooms of all the Alto village.

Altos de Chavon is a super cool amphitheatre in the Dominican Republic. It's the perfect place for a photoshoot, especially wedding photoshoot, and it feels like you're in a little Italian village. It looks old, but in fact buildings are quite new. There are tons of shops and restaurants around, so you can have a fun day out. Check it out if you're in the area!

Tobacco shop
Tobacco supplier
Cigar Country, located in La Romana, is a premier cigar shop in the Dominican Republic. Whether you're new to cigars or a seasoned aficionado, this is the place to purchase boxes online or buy stogies directly from their source. The tour provides insight into their process as a leader and major exporter of tobacco leaf and cigars. Visitors can observe the cigar rolling process and even try rolling their own.
If you’re into cigars, Cigar Country by Tabacalera La Romana is an absolute gem. The experience was outstanding from start to finish – and a huge shout-out goes to Emilio, who made it exceptional. His knowledge, passion, and professionalism were top-tier. He took the time to understand my preferences and recommended cigars that were spot on – both for personal enjoyment and as gifts. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does and knows his craft inside out. The cigar selection is fantastic, the store is beautifully presented, and the entire atmosphere is welcoming and premium. Bottom line: If you value quality service, expert advice, and a first-class selection, ask for Emilio – he’ll make sure you walk out with exactly what you need. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Entirely handmade in the Dominican Republic, VegaFina cigars Hecho a Mano have unquestionably become a global bestseller. These cigars' excellence is due to a long, meticulous process where only the best tobaccos are combined, following the centuries-old tradition of tobacco rolling artisans. With no frills and no gimmicks, VF is undeniably a fine cigar brand and a delight to smoke! These extraordinarily consistent yet affordable VegaFina cigars Hecho a Mano have become one of the most sought-after cigars in Europe. Now you can enjoy these cigars without a passport.

Jose was an incredible tour guide. He spoke very good English, knew his products, processes, and store very well. He answered all my questions and was very informative. We got to watch employees make a few cigars. The tour and cigar making area was small and maybe 20 mins long. The $20 or $25 cost is given to you as a credit in the store. The prices were great and the selection was incredible. You can buy fresh $10 sticks or a box of 10 Davidoff Royal Release for $1500. Definitely a must see if you are interested in cigars!

Cigar Country in La Romana is a true paradise for cigar lovers. The selection is simply outstanding you’ll find something for every taste, from rare and hard-to-find cigars to the classic lines that knowledgeable smokers keep coming back to for their perfect balance of quality and price. What makes the experience even better is the atmosphere: relaxed, elegant, and welcoming. The staff really stand out for their professionalism and passion; they take the time to understand your preferences and guide you patiently toward the cigar that best fits your profile. It’s not just a purchase, but a learning experience and a real pleasure to spend time here. A must-visit in La Romana, whether you are a seasoned aficionado or just beginning your cigar journey.

I recently visited the VegaFina facilities, and the first thing I noticed was their warmth and friendliness. Every person working there was truly delightful. They explained the cigar-making process in detail, shared the history, and even showed us the physical process, with people working on the tobacco right in front of us. It was both highly educational and fun. The store offers a wide variety of options, and the staff kindly answered all of our questions. Without a doubt, it was an experience full of learning and enjoyment.

Minitas Beach is a picturesque stretch of sand located at Casa de Campo Resort and Villas, covering 7000 acres of Dominican seaside. The resort offers an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere with a replica Mediterranean Village and Grecian Amphitheater. Visitors can enjoy Mediterranean cuisine in a luxurious yacht club environment with sweeping views of the beach. While the food options may be lacking for some, others find delight in the Spanish cuisine and flavors like paella and Arepas appetizer.
The food was so fresh and yummy! I got the Salmon! The coconut custard and cheesecake were my favorite desserts at the resort! They have vegetarian options which is always a plus! My husband had the pizza and my son had the whole fried fish! Everything was scrumptious!

One of the freshest most delicious calamari I have ever had. Not your regular frozen calamari. You can tell they make it there, and it comes with an amazing black aioli. Signature drinks were unique and different from others as well. Very fair priced with excellent service. Will return.

Minitas Beach Club & Restaurant was delicious! The food was incredible. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was memorable. Highly recommend eating here.
Scott G — Google review
Minitas Beach Club, located within the exclusive Casa de Campo resort in La Romana, is far more than a beachfront restaurant. From the moment you arrive, you’re welcomed into a relaxed yet refined atmosphere where every detail feels intentional. Few places have made me feel as genuinely cared for. The service is one of the restaurant’s strongest assets, led with grace and professionalism by maître d’ Yosary Sánchez, alongside Service Manager José Doroteo and a remarkable team that includes Yorbel, Natanael, and Yensi. Their attentiveness feels natural, never rehearsed, and their warmth elevates the entire experience. The setting is stunning. With open-air seating just steps from the Caribbean, the space is designed with light woods, neutral tones, and clean lines that blend seamlessly with the natural surroundings. Whether you’re visiting for lunch under the sun or dinner beneath the stars, the atmosphere is consistently serene. If you’re with an adults-only group, I highly recommend spending time at the oceanfront infinity pool. Reserved exclusively for adults, it offers a calm, elegant space with full service and unobstructed views of the sea. The food reflects a thoughtful blend of international and Caribbean flavors. The tuna tartare with Dominican avocado and citrus emulsion is a standout starter—fresh, vibrant, and well-balanced. The grilled dorado over coconut risotto is perfectly executed, both delicate and flavorful. For a heartier option, the Caribbean-spiced lamb rack is rich and tender, cooked with precision and full of character. The drinks menu also deserves praise. The wine list includes labels from Europe and the Americas, while the cocktails are creative and well-crafted. The Ron Fashioned, made with aged Dominican rum, cinnamon, and cacao bitters, is particularly memorable. Happy hour is offered daily from 5 to 7 p.m., with select cocktails at half price, making it the perfect moment to enjoy the view and a carefully mixed drink. Nearby, several other venues complete the experience. Minitas Market, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., sells artisanal gifts, beachwear, and local gourmet items. Minitas Deli & Pizza offers wood-fired pizzas and sandwiches from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., with its own happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. Palmita Café is ideal for breakfast or a light snack and is open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. On the beach, you’ll also find casual options like Brasa and Massa food trucks, the Squeeze Juice Bar, and Cinco Ice Cream Shop. A little-known fact about Minitas Beach Club is that its current culinary and design direction was inspired by the visit of a well-known Catalan chef in 2018, who encouraged a complete reimagining of the space. Since then, the restaurant has hosted international artists, designers, and celebrities during private events at Casa de Campo, earning a reputation for discretion and quality. Minitas Beach Club is open daily from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m., with bar service starting at 10 a.m. The infinity pool operates from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is reserved for adults. Sunday brunch, from 12 to 4 p.m., features live cooking stations, ambient music, and off-menu specials. Reservations are recommended, especially on weekends, and dress codes apply: casual by day and resort casual by night. Swimwear is allowed in lounge areas but not in the main dining room. Minitas Beach Club is not just a place to eat. It’s a place to savor the moment, appreciate the setting, and enjoy genuine hospitality at every level. Whether you’re here for a romantic evening, a long lunch with friends, or a peaceful solo escape, it delivers a consistently memorable experience. If you found this review helpful, please consider leaving a like and follow me. 😉❤️

We came here for lunch every day and could not get enough of the food. There are so many amazing bits of Spanish cuisine to try out, including a couple flavors of paella which is traditionally a popular choice. Highly recommend the Arepas appetizer. The main seating area also has a direct ocean view, which makes for a relaxing and scenic atmosphere. The neighboring pool is adults-only, and also has its own bar right next to it.

Beautiful private beach/beach club, a little expensive but its clean and you have all you need. After you pay an entrance fee you can spend as much time as you want there. Food and drinks are of course additionally charged. Calm water and overall enjoyable.

Vibes. Views. Service. Food. This place has it all. Besides the seafood platter and other amazing options, the zucchini fritters are absolutely superb - could have eaten a full meal of just those. A must have snack or starter.
Mikefitzgerald — Google review
The view was great and so is the beach. Relaxing and friendly. It’s a quiet beach, perfect for families. However the only thing that let me down was the food. The choices were not the best and quite lacking and it also took quite a long time for the food to come. I expected from a place like this for the standard to be higher but maybe my standards were too high. Although i would definitely recommend going to the beach for the great views.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was due to a lengthy wait (we were basically the only others dining at the time) and the pasta meal could have had more chicken. Otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our meal! Beautiful area within the Altos de Chavón. They even use spices from Alessi bakery in Tampa, Florida!

La Piazzetta is a charming Mediterranean-inspired restaurant located in Casa de Campo. Originally designed by the renowned Oscar de La Renta, this eatery offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere with warm lighting and rustic decor. The menu features a selection of Italian classics that evolve with the seasons, as well as Italian-inspired dishes including fresh, handmade pastas prepared in-house. This is a restaurant that has elevated service above the level of most restaurants and takes caring for its patrons seriously. The staff is terrific and seems to notice every detail such as if a piece of flatware is absent from the next course. Job well done! Carpaccio (beef) was particularly excellent.

Very nice place to eat. My second best choice for the all inclusive restaurants offered by Casa de Campo’s resort package. La Casita is number one. The ribeye was by far the best meal based on our group of nine people. Other plates were good also. Service was very slow with drink refills. The coffee was very late arriving for dessert, we had to take it to go.

Enchanting Ambiance and Delicious Flavors at La Piazzetta - A True Taste of Italy in Casa de Campo! Dining at La Piazzetta was an absolutely delightful experience! The location above Casa de Campo offers a truly enchanting atmosphere, perfect for a romantic evening or a special gathering. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making you feel instantly transported to a charming Italian piazza. The food was also a highlight! Every dish we sampled was bursting with authentic Italian flavors, expertly prepared and beautifully presented. The pasta dishes were particularly outstanding, and the aromas wafting from the kitchen were simply divine. The service was attentive and friendly, further enhancing our enjoyment. If there was one minor note, as an Italian restaurant, we were a little surprised not to find any pizza options on the menu. However, this in no way detracted from the overall exceptional quality of the other dishes and the wonderful dining experience. We highly recommend La Piazzetta for a truly memorable Italian meal in a beautiful setting within Casa de Campo. It's a culinary gem that shouldn't be missed!

Great food. Portions could’ve been slightly bigger. Atmosphere was nice, it would’ve been nice to experience the live music closer but they played the majority of their songs at the tables of the two large groups while we were there. La Tiendita by ABS Foods is a charming little restaurant located in La Romana, Dominican Republic, that has quickly become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Known for its outstanding food quality and attentive service, this hidden gem offers an array of delicious dishes. While the space may be cozy, they are expanding to accommodate more guests eager to enjoy their culinary delights. During my recent visit, I was captivated by the tender octopus that burst with flavor—though it was on the smaller side.
Good food, nice service and very good place.

We recently visited this roadside restaurant and store, and overall, the experience was positive. The food was excellent. I tried the octopus, which was incredibly tender and flavorful, though the portion was on the smaller side. On the other hand, the burger was exquisite and definitely a must-try! The service was friendly and attentive, but the wait for the food was quite long. So, even though it’s a highway stop, it’s not a quick one. If you have the time, it's worth the visit for the quality of the food.

Great deal for the best ribeye steak I ate! You can choose the piece of meat you prefer and in a short time they bring it to you cooked as you wish with the preferred side dish. Perfect cooking for a so tender and juicy steak! Don't miss fried yuca sticks! Congratulations to the cooks and the service. Pleasant place for this small restaurant. It is only open for lunch.

I Went to purchase meat, fish and discover delicacies on offer. Unfortunately none of the 2 employees were interested to assist me in my choice. The guy sitting as a cashier on the right hand side ignored my request and forwarded me to the lazy cashier on the left hand side! I had to request several times to help me. But she was soooo busy WhatsApping! Never saw such a incompetent person. Anyway, it’s a management problem. Wish them good luck!

The food tastes very good. But the mixed parrillada for four should be for max 2pp. The portion size is not adequate.

I’ve had a very good experience visiting this place. Especially when I’m traveling from Santiago or Santo Domingo and I’m hungry. The food is very well prepared and the service is great. However the prices are a bit too high for something that’s on the highway and the choices are limited. Also the bathrooms are way too small. But I’m still giving it 5 stars ⭐️ because i believe that you do get what you pay for.

Restaurant
SBG Casa de Campo is a luxurious waterfront restaurant located at the marina, offering an exquisite international menu with Mediterranean and fusion influences. The ambiance is exclusive and upscale, with unique corners and intimate spaces filled with art and marine details. The restaurant provides a chic setting for a memorable dining experience, featuring eclectic upscale casual atmosphere. Patrons can enjoy the large infinity pool adjacent to the dining area, adding to the Caribbean feel.
High end restaurant located in the marina of Casa de Campo. Food was excellent, service was top tier, and the ambience is what stole the show. We sat outside, they had a dj that played mellowed dance music. It was a great night. Prices were what you’d expect for a high end restaurant. Ribeye was properly prepared with the mashed yuca. The chocolate cookie dessert was A1. Definitely try the fried octopus.

This might have been the worst service and most disappointing food I've had in my life. Was left entirely unattended for 45+ minutes and literally pulled on the sleeve of a walter to get service. I was going to order more decided against after so much time had passed. The food was thick and gross. How can any human consume the entire goat cheese and truffle focaccia pizza? It's a shame because the location is nice. 👎

My fav restaurant in the world!! Every time we go to Casa we go at least twice. The food is amazing! We’ve made it our goal to try all the plates in the menu and they never miss. We have tried the ceviche, tuna carpaccio, popcorn tiradito, ossobucco risotto, shibuya rice, mercer steak, churrasco, and more. The cheese wheel pasta is spectacular and comes with great presentation. The crispy rice tuna is to DIE FOR and so is the coconut affair (dessert). On to the service, the service is amazing and the waiters are always there if you need anything. The atmosphere is also very nice. If you can, ask for seating outside (reservation recommended) because they have an amazing infinity pool / ocean view. 10000/10 Will keep coming back everytime.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant! Food was delicious! I had the miso glazed Chilean sea bass and bluefin tuna tartar for my meal. Everything was prepared perfectly and was visually appealing to the eye. I dined outside in the evening right next to the water and it was a fabulous experience.

Came here with a big group of friends during our visit to Casa de Campo. The place is pretty spacious featuring both inside and outside seating, with the outside area being waterfront facing, which was nice. The restaurant was empty on the date that we visited. We were originally seated outside, however, due to the heat we Asked if we could seat inside instead and they were pretty accommodating to that request. Ordered food and most of it was pretty tasty, however, we had an unpleasant experience when we accidentally knocked over a soy sauce bottle and a dead fly came out of it that had been swimming around for who knows how long. Additionally, the server got some of our orders wrong implying that we had ordered something after we had confirmed multiple times what we wanted. Overall, it was okay but probably wouldn’t come back.

The experience of having dinner at SBG in la Romana is truly unique. Parking is far but they have courtesy transportation to the door of the restaurant or you can enjoy a lovely stroll as the restaurant is strategically at the end of the marina. The quality of food was outstanding. Each dish was prepared to perfection. Drinks were delicious. View was great. Ambiance depends on the area you are seating. Great experience!

SBG is a must when vacationing in the extremely beautiful resort of Casa De Campo, La Romana, Dominican Republic. Excellent, top quality service and incredible food selections. Bring $$$$ because this place has all the bells and whistles so not very cheap. A lot of wealthy folks dining and also many celebrities. Make early reservations and enjoy.

Beautiful setting, great service but extremely expensive, dinner for 2 cost around $400USD with two cocktails each. Espresso martinis are $30.00 each. Many items are as expensive or more as a restaurant in Miami. Even though is good, it’s overpriced, specially in local currency.

Cave of Wonders, a cave museum discovered in 1926, is a popular tourist attraction located on the way to the capital. It boasts ancient Taino cave paintings and offers guided tours. Visitors can also enjoy the historic buildings and delicious food in La Zona Colonial after their visit to the cave. The site has shaded parking, a free mini-museum, and an inexpensive entrance fee. Tour guides who speak English are available and provide insightful information about the cave's history.
Wonderful spot to spend about an hour and a half with a very cool cave and fun little maze. Good for kids 6 and up! Does involve stairs and walking ~1 hour. The iguanas are also cool to see though you only stop by them for like 5 minutes.
Caleb C — Google review
First of all, I don’t like the fact that $ paying guests pay $10 for admission, while guests paying with DOP pay around $3. That’s discrimination. Other than that, the caves are amazing—very big and beautiful. The guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. Make sure to wear non-slip shoes if you’re visiting, as the stairs can be quite slippery. The iguanas are kept in a large enclosure, but they seem to fight a lot, which makes me question whether keeping them together for tourists' sake is a good idea. Overall, I can recommend this place.
M O — Google review
We've been to a few of the caves around here and this one is really made up for visitors. You can see the sign from the highway easily, and there is plenty of parking (even in shade). For two of us it cost about USD $8 And that includes the guided tour. They take you on a stone walkway through some lovely landscaped gardens (watch out for iguanas) and then down into the cave which is a very large chamber. The path isn't steep and it's relatively smooth and easy to walk. The lights are well timed and there are bags in the holes in the ceiling. One section has Taino petroglyphs and there is one section with a pool. It's not the most impressive cave system I've seen but they've set it up nicely for visitors and it's a good tour. The acoustics are impressive and towards the end of the tour you are taken into one section that literally has marble floors--they used to hold concerts and have weddings there--which kind of blows your mind (what do they do when it rains and floods??) you aren't down too deep but there's a flight of stairs (maybe 50 steps?) to get out. They finish with a tour of the iguana exhibits and there are a lot of them. We liked it and thought it was a good deal for the money, definitely something fun to see.

I see why they call it La Cueva de las Maravillas.... this place truly lives up to its name! The cave is absolutely beautiful, and the history behind it and how it was discovered makes the visit even more fascinating. I definitely need to go back to explore El Laberinto (the maze) and try the Paseo a Caballo (horseback riding). Highly recommended for nature and history lovers!
Ey.M.O — Google review
This place is amazing. Not only the caves are marvelous but you can ride horses and go into a built-in in tree maze on sight. Several iguanas which give the place a jungle Caribbean vibe adequate for it's purpose.

The Cueva de las Maravillas (Cave of Wonders) is a remarkable historical site and a highlight for any nature lover. The journey to the cave is a beautiful trek through a rocky, tropical landscape perfect for spotting iguanas. To enter, you descend a long flight of stairs into the massive and impressive cavern. Inside, you'll find incredible Taino pictograms, making it one of the most significant examples of Taino culture. The cave, which is believed to be over one million years old, was a vital part of Taino life, used for protection from hurricanes and as a place for burial rituals. While the cave is immense, only about 25% has been uncovered to avoid disturbing the native fauna, including the bats that have long called it home. Initially, locals illegally harvested bat guano from the cave to sell as a powerful fertilizer. The tour guide person was excellent, offering a detailed and fascinating look into the history and culture of the Taino people. This tour is highly recommended and an excellent value.

Very large cave system, lots of steps to get underground which are a tough climb back out. Paths underground dimly lit but with handrails. Wet underfoot. Impressive stalagmites/stalactites. Small lake in cave. Drawings well lit. Definitely well worth a visit. Iguanas in enclosure above ground but also wild. Guide was good but did walk around quickly. Spoke in English and Spanish.
Mel O — Google review
The cave entrance is well maintained. You can pay 300 Pesos per person or pay a lot more as a tour. There is a guide that leads you through the cave anyway. The guide speaks Enlish and Spanish. The cave is not very deep. The tour is about an hour with a lot of little stops. The path is smooth concrete with little steps. The cave is nowhere narrow and sports several larger cavernous areas. The drip stones grow through old coral reefs, hence, the drip stones are more gray than the typical cream colour. There are black cave drawings that look a bit like spray painted. The downside of the cave is that it is not well lit. This is probably to avoid algae and moss growth. Drip stones, well, drip water. The tour ends at a iguana (lizard) den. Water is available at a store at the entrance.

Teeth of the Dog Golf Course, Casa de Campo Resort & Villas

Golf course
The Teeth of the Dog Golf Course, situated in the picturesque Caribbean, is a renowned 18-hole golf course located by the mesmerizing waterfront. It is often regarded as a must-play course in the region and stands out with its stunning ocean-hugging holes that resemble jagged canine teeth. Designed by esteemed golf architect Peter Dye, this championship course is one of three distinct courses within Casa de Campo luxury resort spread across 7,000 acres in La Romana.
AMAZING golf course and experience!! Had a wonderful time, views are spectacular!! I've played Pebble Beach twice and this is more scenic. Course was in great condition. My caddie Javier was also excellent. Will definitely be back.
J. A — Google review
Some golf courses are played with clubs. Others are lived and remembered long after the final putt. Teeth of the Dog, the legendary Pete Dye design at Casa de Campo in La Romana, belongs firmly in that second category. It is not just the top-ranked course in the Caribbean. It is an experience that demands respect and rewards precision, offering one of the most memorable rounds of golf anywhere in the Western Hemisphere. Carved out of coral rock and Dominican coastline in 1971, this course was Pete Dye’s personal favorite. Seven of its holes run so close to the Caribbean Sea that ocean spray sometimes reaches the green. But it is not just about the scenery. Teeth of the Dog is a test of strategy, discipline, and creativity. The layout moves effortlessly between coastal spectacle and quieter inland moments, creating a rhythm that keeps players alert and engaged from the first tee to the eighteenth green. From holes 5 to 8, the course bares its teeth. Hole 5, a par 3 perched beside the waves, punishes indecision. Hole 7 dares players to cut the corner of a dogleg wrapped around the sea. Later in the round, hole 16 presents one of the toughest challenges. It is a long par 4 framed by the ocean on the left and wind that shifts direction without warning. On a breezy afternoon, a par here feels like a small triumph. Course conditions are superb. Fairways are tightly mown and offer excellent roll. Greens are quick, true, and subtly contoured. The bunkers are sharp-edged, clean, and never placed randomly. Every hazard matters. The rough is playable but penal enough to encourage discipline off the tee. Drainage is excellent, even after heavy tropical rain, and signage throughout the course is discreet and clear. Support facilities meet the standards of elite private clubs. The clubhouse has sea views and a relaxed but refined setting for lunch or a drink after the round. The pro shop is well-stocked with top-tier brands and offers excellent service. Practice facilities include a full driving range with natural grass, short-game area, and large putting greens that accurately reflect the speed and texture of the course. Locker rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Caddies are knowledgeable and offer the right balance between guidance and discretion. Currently, the course is undergoing a full restoration led by Jerry Pate Design, scheduled from January through December 2025. The work includes re-grassing the entire course with Dynasty Paspalum, rebuilding bunkers, restoring original green contours, improving drainage with sand-capping, and renewing cart paths with concrete curbing. The project honors Pete Dye’s original design while enhancing long-term playability. Though closed for play as of July 2025, the anticipation for its reopening is high, and deserved. Teeth of the Dog has hosted the Latin America Amateur Championship and other major regional tournaments. Green fees for resort guests are approximately $395, including cart and practice balls. Early tee times are recommended to enjoy calmer winds and a quieter atmosphere. Non-golfers can relax at the Beach Club or explore nearby Altos de Chavón, a replica Mediterranean village offering panoramic views and cultural experiences. The course suits low to mid-handicap players best, though forward tees provide access to the design’s beauty without overwhelming less experienced golfers. From December to April, conditions are ideal. Year-round play is viable thanks to excellent maintenance and thoughtful course engineering. Once your round ends, stop by the 19th Hole Bar for something light and refreshing. It’s the perfect closing ritual, quiet, shaded, and steps from the final green. If you found this review helpful, please consider follow & leaving a like. 😉❤️

Immaculately maintained course with breathtaking views of the sea. It was designed by Pete Dye and it is the only course in the world with seven holes bordering on the Caribbean Sea. They are collectively known as the “holes created by god”. For the most part, the caddies were knowledgeable and helpful with few exceptions. The only real downside is the absolutely outrageous price. For a single who is a hotel guest the cost is $575 Canadian including the $100US mandatory cash tip for caddy service. Club rental adds about $100 on top of that plus 18% mandatory taxes. It all adds up to about $800 Canadian per game. This makes for a crazy expensive golf week on top of the huge accommodations costs. The only other thing worth mentioning is the Pro Shop. We shopped here during the afternoon when it was quiet and although there were few shoppers and three sales clerks, no one was interested in selling anything to us. The women all chatted away to each other in Spanish and basically ignored us. Not cool by any standards let alone at a luxury golf establishment. Given the prices, a little service would have been appreciated.

Honestly, I came to the Dominican Republic for Teeth of the Dog. Maybe my expectations were too high, because I felt slightly—just slightly—disappointed. It’s a good course, no doubt, but with so many great options here, I’m not sure it’s top 100 worthy. Still glad I played it.

Wonderful experience! Well designed beautiful course and breathtaking ocean views. I've played Pebble Beach and this is right up there or better. That's why I played this course often. I never got tired of it. Staff was friendly and cordial. The 19th green with all the free drinks was a great after event to gather all of our scores to wrap up a great day of golf.
Rafael S — Google review
It's one of the most beautiful courses you can play. With spectacular views, challenging holes, and ocean breezes, you can have a round to remember. Course is kept in immaculate shade. Everything is pressed, cut, and groomed to perfection. No wonder it's in the world's top courts. Staff is knowledgeable, polite, and very helpful. You'll pay a little more to play here, but you should have a blast.

Great food. We had just gotten off of the coach from Punta Plata and wanted decent internet and something to eat and this was a good choice. La Entradita is a charming bar and grill with stunning scenery, excellent beverages, delectable cuisine, and lively music. It is rumored that Pitbull, the famous artist, is the owner and occasionally visits. He seems to have developed a fondness for La Caleta as he has also made investments here.
This was exactly what we were looking for... a nice upscale spot on the shores of La Romana with chill vibes and views of the water. This place has it all. First off it's almost empty because most folks are busy a few feet down at the many other popping spots. I noticed almost everyone that came here either had a date or where in a group. There is a lower and upper deck and beach side seating. The music is jumping (staff managed Playlist so they took requests from us all night) The food is outrageously delicious... my favorite being the fish with fried plantains and the shrimp mufongo. Omg... delicious! Note the later you arrive the longer it takes the food to come out for some reason. We stayed within walking distance and they deliver. The drinks weren't strong but the Piña colada was good... didn't even realize when I was on my 3rd one... again... not strong but good. Oh... we were able to smoke our hookah while sitting beach side. Views are perfect with daylight... can't really see much of the water at night.. but you can still hear the waves crashing... even over the music. The people are friendly... if you love people watching... you will get an eye full of candy! I am still perplexed as to how this place is empty... but the vibes are undeniable. We came to La Romana to be amongst the locals and this place (and the surrounding strip... all along distance... provides just that). We literally say out there for hours and loved every minute of it... especially when they would play our song requests periodically. It's perfect!

This place is fantastic! Great meats on a stick(pinchos) and the music is great as well. You should eat upstairs and go down and dance a little after the decadent meal. If you want to impress a date this is the place. Families and their babies are welcome here. Lay back and drink a little because the kitchen is slow.... everything is made fresh at your request. Ask for Francisco Garcia, best server at Playa Caleta. My wife andI love him. The sense of team work lives at this place, from the kitchen to servers and parking attendants. They all work hard to make it a memorable experience. Do not order dessert yet. No sweet liqueurs either, otherwise it will be perfect! Check out La Grasa too.... same owners, great seafood pizza! Way to go Cheche!!!

The place looks nice from the outside and i was anxious to find out how it was. Its a nice casual elegsnt place. I related it to Paneras in the US. Portions are small as in continental style breakfast not too expensive. Next time I will go grab and go. Pastries are awesome as well as the cakes.

We stopped here because I like trying out new bakeries...but we were disappointed. I went in and ordered bakery and food items. We got the nutella croissant, which had very little nutella in it-not good, the passionfruit cheesecake had a tangy, delicious taste to it, rolls were good and fluffy, and the guava pastry was good, but needed more paste in it! The wait was crazy! I ordered a few things from the bakery which took a while. I don't speak Spanish well and she wasn't thrilled about it. The person behind the register was more helpful and I ordered food. Pasta- was good, sauce was flavorful and my son liked it. Dominican breakfast- was okay- mangu wasn't seasoned well and eggs were overcooked. hamburger- was uncooked! We left and my husband started to eat it and it was sooo red! We got a refund and, of course, they were very nice when he went in there. Overall, we would never go back.

Im only giving 3 stars because of the baker is amazing the baked goods and breads are delicious. But the customer service is horrible. The cashier doesn’t want to speak or look at you and to get a server to speak its like pulling teeth. If you ask a question about the food or menu you get an eye roll and a sigh. I have been there a couple times and it’s always the same. My recommendation is get the baked goods, coffee, and go. The sourdough is awesome, but the sour service is not. Skip the food and stick to the baked goods you won’t regret it.

Crema is really a lovely place to hangout and have a good Chinola Cheesecake and a good cup of coffee. They serve breakfast and lunch along with other things on their menu. Their menu is not offer a big variety as if you were going out to a dinning restaurant. The menu does have some traditional Dominican food. The prices is good. Its not crazy. If you want to have breakfast and a quick lunch here's the place to go.

came here a million times because the cakes are so good and the frappes are better than Starbucks 😆 the only downside is that the wifi has a 1 hour time limit. PLEASE change that I would come here for hours and just keep trying new things, plus it’s the only spot with reliable wifi for people coming to DR while working remote.

Restaurant
Limoncello is a delightful culinary gem that brings the essence of Italian and Mediterranean cuisine to life. With an inviting atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional trattoria, it features charming artisan tableware sourced from the Amalfi coast. Guests can indulge in homemade pasta, fresh seafood, and their standout dish: wood-fired pizza. The menu also boasts delectable options like seafood linguine and artichoke risotto, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Love the food here. The best baked fish and sashimi.

Not great… food took way too long which is fine if it’s delicious… but it wasn’t that great. Most dishes were fairly bland or light in flavor. We had a group of 10 people so we tried a decent amount of food on the menu and only one person in the group loved what they got.

Weird that the reviews are either horrible, like mine, or great. Perhaps the good ones are fake (as they mostly sound the same)? Impossible that anyone would like the food. We ordered pizzas, salads, pastas, and appetizers. All horrendous except one salad. Worst ingredients in everything. Cheap pasta, cheap sauce, cheap everything. Skip it, it’s just plain bad. Read the bd reviews, they’re all spot on.

Very good food! We had a baby lobster which was amazing! I was very surprised by the attention of the staff. I 100% recommend. Wonderful and fresh pasta, sgropino and a very tasty focaccia for starters.

Food is average at best. Cesar salad basically horrible. Argued with staff about currency exchange which we were charged $11 US dollars more because they chose the exchange rate which was not current. Would be acceptable if staff & service were exceptional which it was not. Atmosphere is nice but goes downhill fast after that.

Day 4

Off the beaten path
For day 4, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Bayahibe Beach. Not quite as popular as Altos de Chavón, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Outdoor Activities
Bayahibe Beach is a popular destination known for its palm-lined white sand and clear aqua waters, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. There are various accommodation options within walking distance of the beach, offering comfort and tranquility in this charming seaside town. The area also boasts all-inclusive hotels with amenities like outdoor swimming pools, fitness centers, and concierge services.
Excellent beach and town. I was there for one month in June 2024 and a few days of July exploring the country, so I want to share my photos of Bayahibe. I liked the food, drinks and deserts, especially cake. It gets a bit crowded on the weekends but you will never be bored with Dominican people if you speak good Spanish, and even if you don't.
Lejla V — Google review
It's a nice beach but don't recommend on Saturday and Sunday as it gets really busy with locals and there is little space. A lot of shops nearby.
Radek Z — Google review
We love this beach I think it’s beautiful and the water cristal clear. We visited with friends and family and had a great time in the water with literally no waves and warm water and soft sand on the beach. If you are going to eat they will set you a table with chairs and will be included with your purchase. Note: This it’s Bayahibe Beach this doesn’t have the Bayahibe lighthouse very mistaken by others and also it’s one wrong picture posted that doesn’t belong to this part of the beach. The lighthouse it’s located on Dominicus beach!

Beautiful beach with restaurants along it. I wish they had dominican prices instead of American. It's definitely a tourist trap with people bothering you the entire time. We did eat from the restaurant so we didn't get harassed as much and the food was good. The water was gorgeous and warm

Great Public Beach, But Beware of Hilton Security Lovely beach with calm water and a relaxed vibe. However, if you walk toward the Hilton resort area, be aware that security will block your path along the shoreline, falsely claiming it's private property. All beaches in the Dominican Republic are public up to 60 meters from the waterline, including in front of resorts. If you're stopped, you can politely ask to speak to a manager.

A nice sandy beach with clear waters 15 min drive from La Romana. I found the place primarily visited by locals, only a few tourists. There were many locals with picnics or just enjoying with families. There's a large car park close by that charges 200 pesos for the day. However, be aware that it's a rip off for tourists. The touts just flock you from all sides. I was charged US $5 just to use a chair at the beach (though I doubt it was his chair at all) and then US $25 for each pound of fish! So, we just gave up after 30mins and left.

Dye Fore Golf Course of Casa de Campo

Golf
Nestled within the Casa de Campo Resort & Villas in the Dominican Republic, Dye Fore Golf Course is a stunning 27-hole oceanside course designed by Pete Dye. The course offers a range of yardage to accommodate golfers of all levels, with twisting trails through the mountains and substantial elevation changes on the front nine leading towards the marina.
Knowledgeable caddies, spectacular views, great golf course to play with a number of challenging holes.
Shane B — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous venue for a superbly maintained golf course. Some very challenging holes but most of the caddies are genuinely invested in helping you score well. The only negative thing about Dye Fore is the extraordinary pricing. All in, one round per person will set you back over $700 Canadian , with club rental, mandatory cash caddy fees, 18 percent taxes, service charges, currency exchange. This makes for a very expensive golf week. Overall, Dye Fore rivals Teeth of the Dog as a golfers’ delight.
Juliet M — Google review
Dye Fore is absolutely stunning! The golf course is an example of detailed craftsmanship and perfection. The staff is extremely talented and kind. What an honor to play here.
Scott G — Google review
This is one of the top courses I’ve ever played. Infinity greens, looks like you can putt your ball off a cliff. The food is limited, just hot dogs. But the course is very well kept.
Marco C — Google review
It is a stunning golf course overlooking Altos de Chavon, and it was an experience I won't soon forget. From start to finish, this course exceeded all my expectations. First and foremost, the breathtaking views from this course are nothing short of spectacular. As I teed off, I couldn't help but be captivated by the panoramic vistas of Altos de Chavon and the surrounding landscape. The combination of lush fairways, rolling hills, and the picturesque Altos de Chavon village in the distance made every moment on the course a visual treat. The fairways themselves were in impeccable condition. They were meticulously manicured, providing a smooth and enjoyable surface to play on. The course layout was both challenging and fair, with a mix of long and short holes that required precision and strategy. Golfers of all skill levels will find something to appreciate here. What truly sets this course apart, though, is its ability to seamlessly blend the game of golf with the natural beauty of the Altos de Chavon region. Each hole seemed to offer a new perspective, whether it was the river running alongside one fairway or the elevation changes that added an extra layer of excitement to the round. In the end, my visit to this golf course was more than just a game of golf—it was a captivating journey through some of the Dominican Republic's most scenic landscapes. I can confidently say that if you're seeking a golfing experience that combines great sightseeing, well-maintained fairways, a touch of difficulty, and breathtaking views of Altos de Chavon, this course is an absolute must-play. It's a true gem that will leave you with memories to cherish long after you've left the 18th green.

Amazing sea views, amazing food and just all round amazing!. Villa rentals are a must-do with some fabulous deals to be had. Be mindful of AirBnb, as many fake accounts on there and definitely insist on viewing the property before booing if you do use AirBnb. Alternatively use VRBO, but if you get stuck hit me up on here as I have so many amazing contacts across the DR Definitely visit the below Altos De Chavon La Palmila Catalina Island

This is not a marina for foreign. visiting yachts. The staff were very disinterested, unknowledgeable, and rude, telling us to look on their website in reply to our questions about long-term berthing fees, availability and facilities, etc.. Demanding $50 USD per person to even allow us to see the pantalans & facilities for 5 minutes. I asked, "Did we waste our time driving here?" and the answer was a simple "yes" without even asking what kind of yacht or dates etc. Vote with your Dollars and go where you're treated best. Not here!

Minitas Beach

Beach
Minitas Beach is a stunning resort beach with golden sand, sun loungers, and palm trees. It offers various activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, swimming, and snorkeling thanks to the protection of a reef that keeps big waves at bay. The beach features amenities like a restaurant with varied food options and recreational facilities including ping pong tables and a small playground. Additionally, there's an on-site pool for those who prefer not to swim in the ocean.
This beach is stunning! There are some rocks that break the waves, making it a calm swimming and snorkeling experience. The coral reef there is dead, but there are still fish to see. The staff are extremely attentive, and the lounge chairs make the experience a lot more relaxing. The drinks at the bar are delicious, and Angel the bartender is super sweet. It does take some time to pay, sometimes up to 7 minutes. The food trucks there, Brassa and Massa, were pretty lackluster unfortunately. The food was dry and not seasoned enough, and takes about half and hour to actually receive. There is some shopping to be done there, but it is extremely expensive (think high-end boutique prices).
Mia T — Google review
Gorgeous luxury beach area. The only downside is that it is not onsite at the hotel. It is about 2km away which will take about 10 minutes by golf cart or 25 minutes to walk. So you have to plan your visit and bring everything you need. Also it is quite busy because it is shared with over 2000 residences and the hotel guests. There is good public washrooms and an outdoor shower. There are two food trucks which are part of the “all inclusive “. It’s a good place to watch the sunset over the Caribbean Sea. There are also two pools here with one designated for children.
Juliet M — Google review
Beautiful private beach in Casa de Campo resort. Very child friendly. Beach is protected by rocks in the water, so no waves and currents. Great bar service and free towel service. Even during high season it never feels busy. Many options for lunch and dinner including food trucks for snacks, juice bar, ice cream shop, and fine dining beach club. Playa Minitas has 3 pools; baby pool, main pool and adult-only pool in the beach club area.
Richard L — Google review
A beautiful beach perfect for swimming and snorkeling because it is protected by a reef that doesn’t allow big waves to come through. They have a nice playground along with a pool and kiddie pool if you don’t want to go in the ocean. I highly recommend catching a sunset here. It isn’t too crowded and the sun sets over the ocean which is a nice touch.

Beautiful beach with palm trees and lounge chairs lining the beach for your enjoyment. Food offerings range from quick bites at the food trucks to a fine dining experience with gorgeous captivating beach decor. For those who enjoy a good sunset, this is one of the best I've seen.

I’ve had plenty of tacos while traveling throughout the Americas. Was pleasantly surprised at the tacos served here. We had steak, birria, pastor, shrimp tacos and all were very good. In addition, the guacamole, pico de gallo, chips served as an appetizer were devoured. Drinks and desserts were great as well. Service was friendly and quick. Would definitely return if ever in the area.

David K — Google review
The food is mediocre. Not very authentic Mexican. The guacamole was very watery and not the quality you would expect from a traditional Mexican restaurant. The food came out so fast that we felt they were rushing us to turn over the table and it was a slow night. The margaritas were watered down. This is more of a touristy type of Mexican and not one to consider high quality.

I genuinely expected much better from Chilango Taqueria located in Casa de Campo, but this was easily one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Let’s start with the service: completely apathetic. Our server looked like he would rather be anywhere else. No greeting, no energy, no interest in actually serving us. His attitude was so off-putting that it set a bad tone for the entire meal. It felt like we were bothering him just by being there. We ordered a strawberry juice, hoping for something fresh and natural like the delicious ones you find all over the Dominican Republic. What we got instead tasted like cheap, artificial syrup more like children’s medicine than juice. Then came the food. I ordered a quesadilla a dish so simple, it's usually hard to mess up. But somehow, they did. It was completely bland, lacking flavor, seasoning, or any kind of care. Even my 4-year-old nephew who normally loves chicken quesadillas, refused to eat it because of how bad it tasted. When a kid turns away, chicken, melted cheese and a tortilla, you know something's wrong. Honestly, being in Casa de Campo, I expected at least a basic level of quality and professionalism. What I got was a poorly made meal, terrible service, and a frustrating experience I wouldn’t wish on anyone. Save your time, money, and appetite and go literally anywhere else.

The drinks were also tasty and hit the spot. Perfect for large groups on a nice evening to catch up. Would highly recommend if you’re thinking about coming here!

One of the best meals I had while staying at Casa de Campo. Loved all of the small plates - gyozas, ceviche, shrimp tempura, chicken/avocado, eel roll. Our servers, Hairo and Billy, were welcoming, very attentive to our needs, stopping by to check on us frequently even on a busy Friday night.

Amazing spot in Casa de Campo! CAUSA serves authentic Peruvian flavors with a modern twist. The ceviche , Gyozas, tempura shrimp are outstanding, and the Pisco Sour is a must-try. Great service, nice vibe, and perfect for a special night .

We visited twice in 2020 and 2024. It is now part of the hotel’s “all inclusive “ program and it is not as good as it used to be. It is almost totally served outdoors with the inside showcasing an open viewing cooking display with an abundance of chefs scurrying around. The washroom was disgusting. The chairs were super cheap patio chair which are real back killers. The food is mediocre and not served hot especially with any size group. Wild cats everywhere under foot begging for food. Not open for lunch.

It is a very nice restaurant, the waitresses are friendly and willing to accommodate your food combination request. The environment is awesome, looking at the marina, in a fresh sunny day is priceless. The price is typical of the casa de Campo, Gourmet ( small amount of foods) for a luxurious price plus a 28% ( 18 government+10 services) plus the CC services is added to the bill. So if money is not an issue you are okay. It is a very nice place.

What an amazing experience! Carlos M. and Mary made it wonderful. Their expertise and warm charm were great. We ordered a number of different items and shared amongst the table. Carlos explained what everything was in great detail. Mary was a savant with her wine service. She presented and poured like a Master. The food was udderly delicious. There wasn't one thing we got we didn't care for. The restaurant itself.is located down by the Marina. It's in a large outdoor square between the shops. We had a beautiful night and enjoyed our outdoor seating. I can't recommend this place enough, we'll worth everything!

CAUSA has some amazing Japanese fusion cuisine to choose from. I’d personally recommend ordering some rolls and nigiri to share and try out multiple flavors, rather than just getting one main dish per person. There’s a lot of variety and all of it is very good.

Delish!! From the perfect combination of sweet, salty AND spicy to the great service. The waiter recommended the prawn rolls with spicy mayo and it was definitely the way to go. We also ordered the ceviche and the amazónico rice. All very good, just like the service. Definitely going back!

Saona Café is a popular spot located on the main street in Bayahibe, Dominican Republic. Situated right in front of the beach, it offers stunning views and a great ambiance. This restaurant and bar is known for its international cuisine, refreshing drinks, and lively music. It's a perfect place to mingle with people from around the globe while enjoying delicious cocktails and cold beers.
Very laid back restaurant right across the Marina. Staff is extremely friendly. One of the best and BIGGEST fries fish I ever had. Was definitely worth it.

My partner and I visited Saona Café at least 3 or 4 times during our week long stay in Bayahibe. The food was always fresh and delicious but our favorite drinks were the cappuccino's and the all natural fruit juices (passion fruit for me and mango for him). The view of the marina and the smell of the ocean breeze were absolutely breathtaking. We also had the same waitress whenever we visited, her name was Janet and she was friendly, sweet and super professional. We can't say enough nice things about Saona Café, it would be a sin not to visit them during your stay in Bayahibe.

Such a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere! The prices are a bit expensive! Their beverages are a must-try, especially the Piña Colada—it’s absolutely delightful! They accept visa carde. 🤑

They are nice at first but made errors with our order and even though we refused a drink because it was wrong TWICE, they insisted on charging for it. Really, I had 3 problems while visiting this town and definitely will not waste money here ever again.

Ordered a grilled fish fillet sandwich. It was juicy end, so tasty easily the best meal I’ve had in Bayahíbe. The Mojito was so good and very strong, 2 ounces of rum! The music was fun too, some people were dancing. fun vibe! Will return!

Went in on Christmas Eve, no reservation, not crowded at 7:30 pm, no wait time to be seated. Fantastic central location with a view of the pier, cozy and familiar ambience, friendly staff. Asked what their fish specialty was, they explained they are the only ones in the region to prepare the lion fish (due to the spikes which are a pain to deal with). True or not, the fish in its orange/ginger sauce was delicious. The salad on the side was seasoned with a perfectly fresh light dressing. Rice and tostones were superb too. Ah and not to mention the mojito! Fresh, not too sweet, not too heavy on liquor... everything I tried was perfect! Congrats and thanks!

Very expensive, got 3 things wrong out Ran out of pita and didn’t tell us but still charge us the full price of the meal. They just served us cheese with tomato and didn’t even tell us there was no pita until we asked.

The Greek salad 🥗 was really good. Meatballs for kids and burger 🍔 with homemade fries 🍟 Big tapas menu. Nice atmosphere. Idyllic small marina village. Can be improved by food and more cosy atmosphere in such a lovely place. And please upgrade from plastic straws to more eco friendly or no straws at all 🌳😊

Nestled in the heart of La Romana, Dominican Republic, the CORNELIO CIGARS FACTORY is a must-visit destination for cigar lovers and curious travelers alike. This renowned tobacco shop and factory is celebrated for its dedication to crafting premium cigars using traditional methods and top-notch tobacco. Visitors are treated to an engaging experience that delves into the rich history of Dominican cigars while witnessing firsthand the meticulous manufacturing process.
This place is absolutely incredible! I AM CANADIAN, visiting the beautiful Romana city with my wife! The community here treated us with so much respect and appreciation! Mr Cornelio has some really, really incredible cigars, and many in-house made beautiful cigars. They have a great setup in the back where they roll them self. Juan took time and offered me his favorite cigar to sit, smoke, and chat with him. He made us feel very comfortable and accepted! These people take a great deal of pride in their shop, and I'm very happy we visited this place. You have to visit here if you really like trying out some of the best cigars! What and experience. ( That's what it's all about) Thank you very much, Andrew!

Great boutique cigar roller with incredible cigars. We had a great tour of the cigar rolling area and were provided a cigar to enjoy. I took several boxes home and am still enjoying them. I even put up one of their cigar boxes on our lounge wall. Definitely going back to purchase more cigars when I return this November.
G L — Google review
Highly recommend a stop here. Excellent cigars but even better people. We stopped during one of the employees birthdays and were offered cake and beer along with our cigar. The tour was interesting and we learned a lot about how their cigars are made and the pride that goes into it.

We had a really great tour of the small factory and took a few of these delicious cigars home with us afterwards. The guide took a lot of time for us and we were even allowed to have a go at making the cigars ourselves. Thank you for this great experience. (5 + 1 star if this selection were possible) The tours are offered in different languages. We had a tour in German.

Best cigar factory in the DR! Super friendly, they even let me roll my own cigar! Must visit cigar factory
Ryan J — Google review
I can echo all the positive comments from other reviews regarding Cornelio Cigars and Juan's hospitality. I visited one week ago based on research I did online and only wish I had more time to spend there. Juan was very welcoming and offered me a tour of the factory area. He is highly knowledgeable and explained in detail the history of the company and how they developed the tobacco seeds and worked with local farms to produce their products. Very interesting story. Juan also offered me a cigar and time to sit with me, but unfortunately did not have the time to do this. He did take the time to ask questions about my cigar preferences and offered me several options. I've only been able to smoke one of the cigars, an ESCIPION, and it tasted/smoked exactly the way Juan said it would. Prices are very reasonable and selection was excellent. I would highly recommend anyone visiting the La Romana area looking for high quality cigars from a highly knowledgeable owner, to take the time to visit Cornelio Cigars Factory. Whether you are a novice or an aficionado, you will not be disappointed.
Dan — Google review
I arranged to have Cornelio Cigars come to our house and roll cigars for us. It was a great experience and I highly recommend Cornelio Cigars. They brought a master blender to come roll cigars and teach us how it is done. They also brough many cigars for us to smoke and taught the whole group a lot about cigars, how they are made and the history behind them. It is obvious they are passionate about cigars and enjoy sharing their knowledge and great cigars.

Passion Paradise Adventures offers unique snorkeling and diving experiences around Catalina Island near La Romana, Dominican Republic. The company provides marine tours to explore the island's hidden treasures. Customers have praised the clear instructions from the instructor, excellent staff assistance with equipment, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere on both the boat and beach. Visitors have also enjoyed snorkeling in crystal-clear waters teeming with fish and relaxing on pristine beaches. The friendly and helpful staff ensure an unforgettable experience for all guests.
Great Experience! I called and spoke with a real person to reserve the trip. The woman spoke English and gave me great details for my family of 5. We have 4 scuba divers and 1 snorkler. We arrived and were able to park near the dock. Two different dive sites and 1 snorkling site. While some of us did the second scuba dive, the snorklers went to the beach for lunch, drinks and beach play. Joel was a wonderful scuba guide. Definitely recommend!
Adam S — Google review
The dive instructors were great and the staff was super friendly. I had Jose as my dive master and he showed took us to some great spots. My wife only did snorkeling and that's where one star gets removed because she said the clarity was poor. On the beach was fun, the food was great and the location was beautiful
Mark T — Google review
Everything went well until pick-up day… day before the trip I’ve confirmed all the details and still, the very next day I was waiting for 45 minutes, without any information about delay or answers to my messages. Waisted my day as rest of my family took another trip (with different company - thank god) and now I’m left alone in hotel instead of diving or sightseeing. Don’t recommend anyone.
Jakub K — Google review
BAD, don't go with them. Boat was loaded up like a public bus, super crowded. There were no explanations, poor equipment, old life jackets, my breathing tube was broken. The ocean was rough and there were a few fish, nothing exotic. Food at the island was cooked in precarious conditions and they charged you for seafood. Overall a very poor experience. The transportation from Punta Cana was another horror story.
Rosario B — Google review
I would not book here again. We were recommended this tour for husband and I by the tour agents in the lobby of our resort when we wanted to go diving. The transportation to and from the excursion was awful. We were shuffled between a couple different busses both ways and no one explained anything to us. When we got to the boat, it was the most unorganized thing I have ever seen. While the staff were all very kind, it was complete chaos. There were people doing snorkeling and diving but no order to anything. People were trying to come down from the top level where all the divers were getting ready. The divers need to be seated together near the back of the boat next time so the process to get the equipment and get into the water goes smoother. When it came time to actually go diving, the "refresher" for new divers was about 1 minute long. I had dived before but am not certified so I knew what I was doing, but it still didn't really feel safe, so I can't imagine how it was for the people who had never dived before, like the people who jumped in the water and panicked and came right back out. There were 2 instructors for about 7 or 8 of us. It took about half an hour before I even got my gear and into the water, where I only got to dive for about 15 minutes. Overall I would not recommend this tour group to anyone, and we have let the person at our resort know how we felt about this group as well. I feel like they recommended it to us because they know the people running it, but as divers it wasn't a good experience and it didn't feel very safe. It was so unorganized that it took away from the whole experience.

Terrible! I booked a cruise with them , they cancelled it on their end offering another random day when i wouldnt even be in punta cana, and i had to follow up with multiple emails all throughout my trip And they finally replied on the day that I Would need now ,to go to hello ticket(their ticket supplier) for cancellation ! Obviously too late to do that! They wont reply anymore ! Money gone! No excursion which we were really looking forward to ! And a lot of time wasted

A bit disappointed with this restaurant. The food looked good but the taste was not great. We eat a lot of Mexican food and this was not it... Overall the chimichanga was not great and I asked without cheese in my burrito (I saw him write it down) and it still came with cheese. They also have extremely bright lights and the shadow of the fan turning made us dizzy. We won't go back...

I think this is the only Mexican restaurant in La Romana. That being said, the service is for the most part top notch and the food is very good. It's located right in the heart of town and is easy to get to. There is off street parking and the place is tastefully decorated in Mexican fashion. This is a sit down restaurant with table service and a full bar but you can order to go as well. On the pricey for the area.

This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life. We had to walk out of the restaurant. They sat us in a dirty table. We sat on that table for 40 minutes and no food. The AC wasn't working and the bathrooms were dirty.

I've ate their pizzas for months, and wasn't really expecting this: their pizza "locanda" made me wake up to be sick at 1:30am and continued this way until almost 5pm next day. I will never again eat anything coming from their kitchen and advice anyone who values their health to do the same.

They have amazing poke bowls, wonderful sushi, a great selection of artisanal beers and wines. It's the best place I've been to. The best restaurant I've been to in all of la romana

Very good salads and sushi. It is a cozy place in the center of the city with very low prices compared with what is normally charged in Santo Domingo. Very good place to go with family, friends, or dates.

Pizza restaurant
Restaurante Pizzeria El Castillo is a charming venue with turrets adorning its exterior, creating a great setting for any special occasion. The restaurant offers fantastic Italian cuisine, including delicious pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. While some have praised the ambiance and selection of pizzas, others have noted the need for improvement in service ethics. Despite this, many visitors appreciate the good atmosphere and quality food offered at El Castillo.
Pretty nice italian food Big pizza for big size pizza Pizza Grande es muy grande, verdad.

This place closed down. I'm sorry I can't remember the new name it opened under. All I can say is that I'm not surprised by its closure. High priced for the local area and low to medium quality pizza and food. Service was lacking as well and the few times I went the restaurant was empty so it wasn't from overwork.

Last minute walk in with over 15 people. Handled it like professionals. Delicious pizzas!

(Translated by Google) Impressed with the pizzeria, which is on par with the best in New York or Europe. We will definitely return to the restaurant. The staff is super attentive and friendly. The place is super clean and elegant. We had sangria, and it wasn't the best, but it was still drinkable. You have to go, no matter what; you won't regret it.

(Translated by Google) The service leaves much to be desired. We ordered a salmon carpaccio that had a very bad taste due to too much lemon. We mentioned this, and they told us there was nothing they could do because the dish would be charged for, and they couldn't even exchange it for another dish. The other grilled meat dish looked more like it had been boiled than grilled. Not recommended. No recomendado.
