Zoo
Outdoor Activities
Zoo de Guadeloupe au Parc des Mamelles is a charming zoo located in the heart of the Parc National de Guadeloupe. It features 85 species from the Caribbean and Guyana, set on 4 acres of lush tropical grounds. The zoo is situated in Basse-Terre, within the commune of Bouillante, and can be reached via the scenic Route de la Traversee.
What a wonderful place. The flora and fauna were stunning. So lush. Shame to see animals penned in but for many, they'd never get the chance to see what, for example, a red toed tortoise would look like. The canopy walk was great fun and not too strenuous, just a little wobbly. We had a great time there and would highly recommend a visit.
Peter R — Google review
One of the most beautiful zoo’s I’ve been to. The zoo is embedded in a rainforest and the you make a nice loop around the property seeing all kinds of different types of animals. The story behind the start up of the zoo is very nice and must watch the short movie during your visit. We also did the canopy walk which was very cool to walk above the zoo from tree to tree. The kids really enjoyed it!
Rosalyn H — Google review
Absolutely beautiful zoo park with a wide range of animals. If it weren’t a zoo, it would be a botanical garden. Most displayed information is in both French and English; unfortunately, this not so for placards describing the flora. Going early seemed to help us avoid the large groups that make the overhead walkway up in the trees clogged with delays (as only two persons are allowed on each suspended walkway). The gift shop has nice items, but unfortunately we did not see any locally made.
Michael P — Google review
The visitor experience is great, but the animal welfare standards seem seriously outdated. The zoo is laid out as a one-way system snaking through beautiful woodland and over enclosures via elaborate suspended walkways. It's a memorable and original approach. Some of the signage is in English and French, but most is in french only. The experience for the residents is a different story: the enclosures are sometimes comically small, especially for the birds and primates. You need to be good on your feet: all paths are often steep, sometimes uneven or slippery and occasionally wobbly on the suspension bridges. Under 8s are not permitted on the overhead walkway, but a similarly designed playground is provided instead. Over a third of the circuit is spent on the treetop walkways - around 30 minutes - so they are to be avoided if you have vertigo.
Graham B — Google review
Excellent zoo. Very unique setting especially with the canopy bridges. Lemur exhibit was quite fun. Nice break from the full sun. Decent restaurant across the street as well. Very well priced.
Brian L — Google review
It's a great place to visit, the walkway is a good idea, but don't get stuck behind a large group! Some of the animal enclosures aren't big enough. I feel immensely grateful to have seen the jaguars, especially the very rare black panther. However, it is very sad to see them and the other big cats in such small spaces. It also looks like the netting isn't that secure in some places. I hope they were saved from a fate worse than being gawped at by us.
Hazza — Google review
Very nice. You can feed the racoons for 50 cents. They also have a red panda. Cutest little thing.
The S — Google review
First visit it rained heavily so a lot of the animals were hiding or asleep, which is fair. The second visit was more successful, we got to see almost every animal. We did the canopy walk, which I felt very brave doing having both a fear of heights and vertigo. I would recommend everyone who visits the island to take the time to visit and support the zoo.

Randonnée Guadeloupe : Mamelle de Pigeon

4.3
(63)
Hiking area
Randonnée Guadeloupe: Mamelle de Pigeon is a captivating hike on Basse-Terre Island, leading through lush tropical rainforest to the summit of a volcanic peak. Situated in Guadeloupe National Park, this trail offers an immersive experience in a rich ecosystem with diverse flora and local wildlife like colorful birds and lizards.
Very similar to the neighbouring Petit Bourg trail, it’s quite fun, goes up up up, and is also muddy, albeit less than its neighbour. Very few people to cope with, and some nice views. At the top there’s a platform allowing views past the thick vegetation, a significant difference from Petit Bourg. The trailhead offers a paved set of stairs to start the climb, but not to worry, it turns into a regular mud trail shortly after.
Tomasz J — Google review
Was driving through, and I saw people pulled over near the entrance of this path. It starts with a stsir path right along the highway. "Easy" by Guadeloupe standards in that the trail is relatively maintained. Muddy, but not terribly so. Up hill climb for 30 minutes for a decent view point over the island. There is a small tower at the top of the climb in order to take photos. A nice way to fill up some time if passing through the middle of the island, and it's not an epic or intense hike. Yes, you will get a little sweaty, and be careful not to slip on the muddy rocks. But compared to other trails on the island, it could be way way more difficult.
Adam G — Google review
A feasable hike (~ 30‘); however it‘s all uphill and some parts are really muddy, so proper shoes are recommended. The view is pretty stunning.

(Translated by Google) Disappointing at the top. Visibility is obstructed by trees and plants that are not pruned. There is a better view of the valley at the parking lot than at the top. Climbing there is fun, take good shoes and be prepared for the fact that you have to walk through the mud and that it can be slippery.

(Translated by Google) Trail entirely made up of steps, guaranteed to work your thighs! The climb is steep but quick (allow half an hour if you are in good physical shape), shaded path with already beautiful landscapes and the panorama at the finish is really nice. Good shoes are required, the path is slippery in places!! (Original) Sentier entièrement composé de marches, travail des cuisses assuré! Hiking in Guadeloupe : Les Mamelles of Petit-Bourg

4.3
(23)
Hiking area
Hiking in Guadeloupe at Les Mamelles of Petit-Bourg offers a pleasant walk through lush vegetation with well-developed paths. The trail provides shade, making it comfortable even in the heat, and culminates in beautiful panoramic views. However, hikers should be cautious of mud after rainfall due to the slow drying of the ground caused by abundant vegetation. The ascent takes about 45 minutes and the descent around 30 minutes.
Les Mamelles de Pigeon offers a unique and breathtaking view of Guadeloupe. The hike to the top is rewarding, with stunning panoramic views of the island’s lush landscape. A must-see for nature lovers and anyone looking to experience the beauty of Guadeloupe’s terrain! Bring waterproof boots and mosqito repellent!
Adriana B — Google review
Very fun hike. Good climb, lots of mud and steep sides. All the way up you’ll be breathing in lettuce air, it’s literally like eating the forest with your lungs. Some nice views on the way, not much to see at the summit itself. Still well worth it in my opinion. This is a much wilder trail than, for example, the Souffriere hike. Consequently there’s a lot less people, which is a good thing.
Tomasz J — Google review
Great views of Baie-Mahault / Gosier / PTP near the top. This one was a bit muddy, but pretty short and fairly easy.

(Translated by Google) The hiking trail is rated easy (F). In fact, it's not a walk if it rained beforehand. In between you get a good view of the national park. Unfortunately, until then you can always hear the road, especially on Sundays when there are so many motorcycles on the road. The small peak is okay, but not a real highlight, in my opinion. There are much nicer destinations here in the national park.

Certainly one of my most beautiful life experiences. Swimming with turtles in this exceptional environment while respecting the fauna and flora! Stunning!!!

We spent nice time here. Is a beach with black sand. The water is not that clear for snorkeling, but there is the posibility to go on a boat trip till Pigeon Island to see the underwater marine life. There are couple of resturants on the beach.
Lavinia F — Google review
We stayed in Guadeloupe for one month and went to many beaches. This one was one of our top ones. We went many times. There are a few things you should know. It is a very crowded beach. The parking is a major issue and we had difficulty finding parking in the afternoon. Best to go early. There are not any public trash cans so there was quite a bit of trash around. We would get ice cream on the beach and have to bring our cups home with us to throw away so bring a trash bag. There are public bathrooms that were never open the whole month. There were portable toilets but they were usually out of toilet paper. We started bringing our own. They do have showers to rinse off. The reason this was our favorite beach was because of the snorkeling. Although not turquoise blue, this water was the clearest of all the beaches we went to (over 10) and the water is calm. We swam next to numerous sea turtles. The first day, we swam in the middle of hundreds of bone fish which was incredible. It didn’t happen again but such a special memory. The north side has a small beach that is really fun with amazing snorkeling out by the rocks. If you go around the corner behind the north rocks, I thought this area was even more lovely than the snorkeling by pigeon island. One day we took kayaks to the Pigeon islands from the beach and loved exploring that. We used Caraibe Kayak to rent and they were very kind and were able to give us the instructions in English. There are many places to eat on the beach. We tried two different places and we were disappointed both times and it took soooo long so we decided not to eat there anymore but brought our own lunch. We loved our days on this beach and will treasure them always!
Alissa S — Google review
This is a lovely spot to spend the day in the water to explore Cousteau Reserve. The coral and underwater life is top notch. By heading to the north side to Petite Malendure, you can explore the sea life by the rocks finding an abundance of life including all types of coral, fish, eels and octopi. We spent hours in the water. The white sand is soft and few rocks. The water was not rough and little current. Swimming with the turtles that eat the grass off Petite Malendure was amazing. Plage de Malendure has good facilities including a decent restroom, restaurants, and shops. A number of dive shops are set up on the beach making it easy to catch a ride out to Pigeon Island for more underwater exploring. We spent 5 days here and could have spent more.
Heather T — Google review
Brilliant beach, loved the boat trip especially. Saw loads of colourful fish and turtles. Didn't manage to catch a turtle on camera though 🤣
Mo — Google review
This beach was lovely but very touristy and crowded. The sand is black from volcanic ash and that’s pretty neat. The water is clear and really calm for swimming. There were food trucks and restaurants all around - lots of options to get food and drinks!
Katrina F — Google review
It’s a nice beach with lot of things to do, like snorkeling, kayaking, swimming. It is also possible to go to another small island by renting a kayak or taking a ferry. But on the other hand, this place is really crowded, it is difficult to find a parking lot and sometimes the music and the cars on the street are really loud.
MyView — Google review
Wonderful little beach, actually the beach isn’t the best thing, but underwater is where the magic happen!!! Jus by snorkeling I’ve seen tons of beautiful fish, if you got lucky you also see turtles and dolphins (I was one of the lucky one).

At Nouveau coucher du soleil, one must possess a sense of patience as the culinary creations take quite a while to be prepared. However, the wait is undoubtedly worthwhile! This establishment boasts the most exceptional chicken wings ever tasted. Additionally, their Ti Punch and Planteur beverages are highly recommended for their delightful flavors. Although it may require some time, patrons are encouraged to relax and fully indulge in both the scenic views and delectable fare provided by this barbecue restaurant.
You have to be patient, food takes a long time to be ready. However worth the wait! Best chicken wings we ever had & the Ti Punch and Planteur are really good. We recommend greatly.

Slow service and only average food, but nice location on the beach, and the draft beer is cold. Neither of our dishes arrived fully hot, and I suspect that's because they are understaffed and the cooked dishes wait on the counter a long time before being delivered to the table.

Le Rocher de Malendure is a popular spot in Guadeloupe known for its stunning views of dive boats heading to Pigeon Island. Visitors are drawn not only by the beautiful scenery but also by the delicious food served at this location. The restaurant features an open, multilevel deck where diners can enjoy fresh fish and other delightful dishes while taking in the picturesque panorama.
Good food, great view. Unfortunately, it was raining and where we were seated we had a bit of water at the end of the service. I will recommend highly to book in advance to make sure that you have a seat that is interesting. We’ll definitely come back to try something else from the Chef cuisine.

Great location, stunning view. The fish and chips weren't a favorite... the breading was thick and a bit too damp. But everything else was delicious, including the marlin à coco. The trio of sides (mashed potatoes, sweet potato gratin, and carrot puree) were spectacular! We appreciated the waitress for trying her best English (way better than our French!)

We celebrated my birthday here at Le Rocher with friends that live on the island and picked the restaurant - the food was delicious and the view beautiful. The owner suggested we try a pina colada to start - and even though I wouldn’t normally order one I am glad we did. Dinner was fish - swordfish, tuna, both very well prepared. Dessert was a sampling of different items and fun way to try new things. It was off season so the restaurant was not crowded. We arrived early to see the sunset ( it’s one of the few nice places on the water and one of the only to open in time for sunset ). We all enjoyed our evening and will visit again.

Décent place for a lunch / dinner type event. Pros: 1. The marlin was freshly caught and beautifully prepared Cons: 1. Bread was offered but when asked for butter was told “butter melts in this climate so we don’t offer it”. I guess the other restaurants on this island have figured something out and it was a bizarre explanation for a lack of something basic 2. The accra fritters were absolutely awful. I had to grab a few napkins to soak up the oil. They had clearly been left out too long in the oil, the bottoms were dark brown (around the point where they would have been submerged). Truly shameful as this is one of the defining dishes in the region.

It's a very good idea that this bar offers concerts to these customers who come to drink a ti'punch or sip a cocktail. The concerts take place every Sunday evening, we loved attending them, the locals mingle with tourists, the musicians are very talented, the children dance... A superb atmosphere which allows you to discover Creole musical culture. With the sunset in the background, it was magnificent! Outdoor Activities
Nestled along the picturesque northwest coast of Guadeloupe on Basse Terre, Plage de Petite Anse is a hidden gem that beckons beach lovers and nature enthusiasts alike. This charming beach spans approximately 100 yards, bordered by lush greenery and rocky formations, leading to a serene cove with stunning turquoise waters.
If you can get a parking spot (there‘s maybe 20 of them?) you should go here! Bring your snorkeling gear, the rocks harbor an amazing variety of animals. We‘ve seen baby squids, large ones, octopuses, sea serpents, lots of fishes. Due to the lack of parking it never feels crowded.

Good for family swimming because it's an inlay with not too heave waves. At times stil challenging due to high waves and underwater stones at the waterfront. Free parking available on site, with steep decline, or on the street nearby. Some palm trees carry hefty fruits that are potentially dangerous, so watch out.
Karl S — Google review
The beach is calm and good to relax. There are almost no rocks or dangerous spots. It’s very chill and there is a small vendor of drinks and local products. The parking is small but not that busy.

We have been to 8 beaches so far in Guadeloupe and this has been one of our favorite as it is quiet and beautiful. The water was calm with no large waves. There were only a few people there. No bathrooms. No restaurants (there was a small cart that was closed on this day- I do think it is open some days). There are some lovely areas on each side to snorkel and we saw many beautiful fish. The sand was a lovely gold and on the north side of this small beach, the creek flows into the ocean and there is black sand mixed with the gold and it is soooo pretty. My kids liked playing in the river area in the sand. There was some trash and we found a few pieces of glass but this is pretty much every beach we’ve been on in Guadeloupe as there are no public trash cans. UPDATE! We went back one month later (so end of July) and the parking lot was completely full and impossible to park (we parked on the side of the highway along with others). The beach itself was not super crowded but more than it was early July. The river that had flowed into the ocean was dried up and the upper area of the river stagnant and dirty- I saw people using it as a restroom so I don’t recommend exploring up there. We still love the beach but it was MUCH busier for some reason. Snorkeling was still incredible and the sand marbled gold/black towards the north. So pretty!
Alissa S — Google review
Beautiful sheltered small dark sand beach in small cove. Some trees for shade but the shade does fill up, still it wasn't crowded. Rocks on right good for snorkeling, sand as you enter water then rocks.
Sue N — Google review
What a wonderful little beach very few people lots of trees and wonderful company everybody should come to this beach to enjoy the freedom and space. Very small car park and only one bar but after a few rums who cares. Clean and gentle sea ideal for the smaller ones amongst you the avid readers🤪
Francis H — Google review
Great little plage. The ocean's floor here for some reason is littered with huge boulders (unlike nearby Leroux or Grande Anse, that have pure sandy floors without single large rock under water), but that makes for fantastic snorkeling! Bring your diving masks and be amazed!
* A — Google review
Very nice and calm beach. Not too many people, so you can fully enjoy the beach. The road to the left is quite close, but mostly unnoticeable most of the time. Make sure to watch out as to where you put down your towels, especially to not sit under the palm trees that carry coconuts, they do fall down occasionally.

The diving and snorkling around pigeon Island is really nice by Caribbean standards However the national park, extends a lot further north and south than just the island, and there appeared to be a lot of fishing activity within this area. To point arriving on a yacht require high vigilance. I'm not completely sure on the park rules but felt for a national park, fishing shouldn't be allowed at all.

Plage Anse à Sable is a hidden gem that beckons those seeking relaxation and adventure. Nestled in front of the picturesque Ilet Pigeon, this charming beach, often referred to as "bain du cure," offers visitors the unique opportunity to explore natural hot springs nearby. Really beautiful beach to spend the day. Good for snorkeling&interesting fish. Spectacular sunset
Rebecca P — Google review
This is a cool and quiet little beach with a nice sandy patch, nice boats in the bay, and beautiful views especially closer to sunset. There's a trailhead which is the entry point to the hills south of there. This allows to expand the beautiful views experience even more. Snorkelling is certainly an option here, with the usual suspects visible under the surface, becoming more interesting around the corner closer to the rock face. The few times where we visited this beach, it was not particularly busy, something that is appreciated when compared to the madness of the other nearby places. There's a restaurant right off the beach, but I would not recommend it beyond buying bottles beverages, when/if it's open. At least you have that.

We visited in the evening before sunset. Accessable through a small free public parking lot. Then turn to the left and on a 300 m footpath that is easily identifiable walk to a pond with very hot water. Nice to lay down at the small canal that interfaces with the cool water of the ocean. Gets mixed if the waves are big enough to go into the hot water pool. Reminds me of NZs hot water beach at Coromandel.

Franko Grill - Grillades is a must-visit spot in Guadeloupe, especially for those who appreciate delicious grilled dishes. This charming eatery specializes in an array of grilled options, including fish, chicken, and sausages, all served with fantastic homemade fries. Guests can enjoy their meals under a cozy arbor while soaking up the vibrant Caribbean music that fills the air. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting; it's not uncommon to see patrons playing dominoes as they savor their food.
I’d give another 5 stars for both the service and atmosphere, and the food deserves its own full set. It’s a very simple menu. Beyond food, you’ll find punch and beer. I fully agree with the consensus: it looks bare, but it’s a jewel. Service is spectacular, the smile on that girl was a game changer.

It's a very simple place but don't let the appearance fool you. We tried smoked ribs and chicken in many other places but it was nowhere near the taste and tenderness you'd find at Franko Grillades. The owner loves his job and makes sure every piece of meat is cooked to perfection. Prices are very low too! Enjoy!
Timur B — Google review
Amazing local place, Franko does definitely grill well! Generous amounts of food and amazing taste, especially the chicken. The cocktails are great too, as long as you don't mind them being a little heavy-handed in alcohol. Come for the local music and the smell of grillrd chicken, stay for Franko and his grill.

One of the best restaurants that we found in the all island. We really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere in front of the sea. The waitress is very nice and speaks English, Spanish and French 🙂. The entrecôte it was perfectly cooked and the ceviche it’s delicious. Highly recommend, the best restaurant that we find so far.

Loved this place! We went there twice, the first time we didn't have a reservation (which we learned would not typically work anywhere there) but they managed to accommodate us, and offered to sit us at the bar for a meal, which that was perfect. Food is good, service is friendly (rarity in Guadeloupe as per our experience) and professional, and the restaurant is fun to be in. Would go back any day.

A cool restaurant, you have to reserve to get a nice view of course. Order a 1 kg Lobster ( 75 Euros ) a salad ( 15 Euros ) and a Tipunch ( the guadeloupe speciality RUM ) ( 3 Euros ) and a Bottle of Water ( 3 Euros ) A sum of 99 Euros for 2 person. paid 7.5 Euros for each 100g for the Lobster. The Lobster was good but not special and the Salad was fine also. Quality/Price not really equal. A bit of a Ripoff.

O Z'Épices, located in Bouillante, is a gastronomic restaurant owned by chef Jimmy Bibrac. The restaurant offers a custom catering service and is known for its Creole specialties. The ambiance of O Z'Épices is described as convivial and warm, much like the cuisine it serves.
What a fantastic taste explosion experience. Michelin star quality. The chef won several awards and he prepares the dishes with love, which comes back in the fantastic flavors. Go here if you are not in a rush. A 3 course dinner with amuse easily takes 3 hours but you do not only get the food but the whole culinary experience. It is definitely worth the time and money spent. If you are in Basse -Terre a must go to.

We went for New Year's Eve. It was delicious. I highly recommend trying their normal menu and some of their lunch specials if you can. They do carry out sometimes.

Stopped as we drove by. So didn’t know what to expect. It was a Sunday lunch/afternoon and we hadn’t booked. A family of 6 were turned away! 4 course meal with about 3 choices for each course. I had the octopus and the wife had fish. Food was excellent, service great - if a little slow to our liking between courses. Took us about 2 hrs in total to eat our food.
Darren L — Google review
Excellent food and unique personalized service by the chef. I’ve read the one star reviews and it’s from people complaining about the length of time. This is ridiculous as the chef clearly prepares every meal himself and comes table side to deliver. Just relax, take in the sights and treat yourself to some world class gastronomy!
Jeff — Google review
Overall great gastronomic experience, but the service was suffering a bit perhaps because of lack of personnel or more customers than expected. We were warmly welcomed and the atmosphere is relaxed but chic. Menu choices very interesting and the food was indeed excellent. Timing on the food delivery was a bit off and our main dishes were received a bit cold, probably because we took time eating our appetizers and the main dishes had been prepared too early and had to sit a bit in the kitchen. The staff were always accommodating and smiling, but you could tell they were struggling to keep up with things. They did their best and that's all we could expect, but given the price point you could expect nearly flawless service. If we return to Guadeloupe, I would definitely try this restaurant again. Probably the best gastronomic meal we had during our ten-day stay.

Went there this evening. No air con and although trying hard to be a “fine dining” establishment (and charging the prices of one) the food was average, the service less than perfect and overall it was poor value for money. Don’t bother. €90 Euro for the Langoustine main was not worth it.

Great food and so well displayed in the plates. Each unique, even the desserts. We went for lunch and the service was also excellent. Highly recommend

Amazing tasting food. The local fish and the cheeses were my favorites. The passion fruit tart with meringue was fantastic. This is a great place for a fancy meal. They provide menus in English or in French. They have a large selection of beverages both alcoholic and not alcoholic. Bonus is that they are open for dinner during the week which was difficult to find otherwise as a tourist

Excellent food. Fresh fish. We also had some piña coladas that were very good . The service was courteous and fast. Make sure to reserve. We noticed that people were turned away. We had a very good time.

The food was very tasty, presentation well done and fun atmosphere (had a live band in the afternoon the day we ate there). English menu. Approximately $15-$25 for a meal plate if memory serves me correctly.

Local food with high quality and great fantasy in presentation! Service was very attentive too, delivering a great experience!

The food was fresh and tasty, however service was inattentive. There were only 3 tables occupied that night and they still turned down walk-ins..go figure.

Park
Located on the heights of Pigeon in Bouillante, with a stunning view of the Cousteau Marine Reserve, Parc de la Source offers a unique relaxation spot in Guadeloupe. This magical place allows visitors to feel completely in harmony with nature. In the midst of a mesophilic forest, guests can explore the beauty of tropical flora and fauna along the Cote-Sous-le Vent.
A really lovely visit. The road up is steep, but perfectly manageable, there are a couple of rough sections, but similar to most of back roads on the island. Take it easy and you’ll be fine. Large free car park at the top. The staff in the welcome centre/cafe were amazing and so helpful. They greeted us in English, explained the path system and the key points to see. Because the tour of the vanilla plants was in French the lady on the desk did an impromptu English extensive explanation for us, which was fantastic. The cafe was great and can be used without paying the admission charge and was a real highlight. They had gluten free cake for me, which is harder to come by on Guadeloupe. The menu is extensive and you can sit on the outside verandah and enjoy the amazing views. Paths down to the waterfall are very steep, but manageable if you take your time. There are a vanilla, coffee and cocoa plantations to view, plus lovely views of the sea and the forest. It is not a botanic garden, but wonderful to walk amongst the trees and plants. The waterfall and river were worth the walk up and down and if don’t fancy the walk back up they will collect you in a vehicle for a small fee. The on site shop stocks lots of lovely things from Guadeloupe, it was our favourite gift/souvenir shop of our island trip. The vanilla from the on site plantation was a particular favourite. Overall a really good visit, something nice to see, supported by great customer service and a lovely cafe and shop.

This is a very well maintained park with some great views. The paths in the park are very steep so you need good shoes. There is lots of cover from the sun on most of the paths. It's worth seeing the water fall at the bottom, but there is a ladder you need to climb down (you need to be in reasonable shape and confidence to do it). Get back to the top on foot can be challenging if you are not fit, but for 2 EUR per person you can get a lift. We tried the blue trail in the woods to get back to the entrance and it was extremely difficult (don't do it if you are not fit). It was like a goat path with steep ascent, loose rocks and danger of slipping. Also there was nothing worth seeing on those trails so avoid them unless you are an enthusiast (you've been warned). Getting to the park you have to drive a very steep and poorly maintained road that is only wide enough for one car (our car actually bottomed out in one place). While climbing we met a car going the other way at one of the steepest parts. They just got by us by driving half their car off the road. I stalled our small rental car and it was very difficult to finish the climb (I thought the car was going to die). STEEP! The welcome centre is very nice with food and drinks and some local art. There is a vanilla garden but no explanation or signs so a missed opportunity. There are pavilions throughout the park where you can picnic, hang a hammock and make a BBQ, but not sure what tourists would actually do it? I would recommend the visit (we spent 3 hours), but we were all exhausted from the trip.

Parc de la Source was a great place to visit. It was fantastic to see the waterfall and it was nice to wander around the various paths and explore the surroundings. Brilliant view from the viewpoint too! Very helpful staff on arrival and departure. Perhaps the only improvement I could suggest would be the addition of some interpretation boards for the rainforest crops so you know what to look for and a bit of background info when following the various paths around the site. Nonetheless, a brilliant place and I highly recommend a visit

On a recent sailing trip we rented a car to drive around Guadalupe. We stumbled upon “The Source” one of the nice things we were greeted by two friendly staff members Edlene &Marine. They were both fluent in English and explained everything about the park. We were on a time constraint and we weren’t able to spend time hiking down to the waterfalls. The staff explained that we could purchase a ticket and have someone drive us down to the falls and then only a short walk and a ladder down where we actually went swimming. It was beautiful and there was no one there for most of our time and then after only two or three people . It felt like we had a private park. We arranged for the driver to come pick us up in one hour and they were there on time and really helped with our trip and allowed us to see more of the island. Definitely would recommend this as a stop in Guadalupe.

This park is a farm situated on the side of a mountain, with well maintained paths leading down to a stream and waterfall. Picnic pavilions throughout, and several alternative paths to return to the entrance. Principal crops are coffee, cocoa, and vanilla. The gift shop and cafe at the top offers excellent snacks, and has a wide selection of art and crafts from local artisans. Staff was very friendly and spoke good english. We spent 2 hours here on a rainy day, got a nice hike in, and had an all around great afternoon here. Requires a rental car to get to.
Jay P — Google review
Unimpressed. Over priced and poorly setup. We were advised to take our swimming trunks and towels with our 5 and 7 year olds; but upon reaching the waterfall it was way to dangerous to take them in. We believer the waterfall and river are accessible without going through the park; so we’re not really sure what it offers. The main road is also used by buggies and you need to be careful of them hurtling past. We would definitely recommend saving your money One star for clean toilets

Beautiful park. The hike down to the waterfall takes just 25 minutes for a couple nearing 70 years old. I could spend much time in the park as it is very pretty. The young ladies at the entrance were lovely and friendly and gave us great information. We chose the cart ride back which is a very nice option. Many thanks to whomever came up with that feature!!

Nestled away in a charming corner, AUX DEUX COQUILLES offers a delightful dining experience that feels like a hidden gem. With its serene ocean views and welcoming staff, this restaurant is perfect for those seeking both relaxation and delicious cuisine. The menu features an array of fresh seafood, including the standout Chatrou fricassee (octopus), which is expertly prepared and served in generous portions.
I had a very good gluten free meal here!

Just don't go there. We paid 24€ for this (see pic) .... It was tasteless potato gratin and one serving of bananas, plus a beer and a water. The choices for lunch are a joke and the price is simply ridiculous. There is no menu so you can't really know what's waiting for you. Basically everything (potatos, fish, some sort of meat and bananas) is just being kept warm under a lamp, which means that we couldn't even tell how old that stuff was. Absolutely terrible experience.

One of the only places open in the area on a Monday. The server was really lovely with recommendations and explaining the dishes, though she was mostly the only one serving so it took a wee while to get our order in and get our drinks. Food was quite tasty and lots of gluten free options. I had the Colombo and my husband had the grilled seabream. Good portion sizes too.

(Translated by Google) So we were in Bouillante for a week, and so we went there to eat. It was a shame that the view of the sea was cut off by the railings. But otherwise we ate very well there and what's more, this restaurant offers a catering service. Well, a little more expensive than other places.

By far the best restaurant on the island we’ve been too. Total surprise. The service was fantastic and…wow!

We went for lunch and found the food to be mediocre and overpriced for what you got. I ordered the seafood trilogy- it had 1 scallop, 3 shrimp and a fillet of fish, for 28 euros. My husband ordered the a pork dish, as you can see in the picture, most of the dish is a tick slab of pork gristle- chewy, inedible pork fat. The dishes have a lovely presentation, but we weren’t impressed with the quality, taste nor the price.

The drinks and seafood were good, the entree and dessert not that great. Great atmosphere, and attentive service.

Highly recommend this restaurant if you are near Bouillante, Guadeloupe. The food and service were both on point. I had the Mariage of the Sea, seared marlin with shrimps in a creamy curry sauce. The sautéed vegetables over purreed bananas were also delicious. It was spectacular. Very good accras and a fantastic flan coco for dessert.
