Sainte-Anne in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Sainte-Anne, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Sainte-Anne is known for its calm, shallow lagoons and white-sand beaches such as Plage de la Caravelle, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. The beachfront promenade hosts open-air markets, food stalls, and cafés where you can sample Creole specialties and local rum. Nearby, you can explore coastal hiking trails and visit other parts of Grande-Terre, including scenic viewpoints and additional beaches. Its central location and laid-back atmosphere make it a popular base for day trips around Guadeloupe.
With favorites like Koté Sud, Chez nicole, and Geograines, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Chez nicole and pizza 2000 so you can get the best taste of Sainte-Anne while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Beaches
Plage du Bourg - Sainte-Anne is a stunning beach that perfectly combines relaxation and adventure in Guadeloupe. Nestled close to the vibrant town, this beach boasts soft white sands and gentle waves, making it an ideal spot for families and novice snorkelers alike. The shallow waters are teeming with colorful marine life like grunt fish, jewel damselfish, and butterflyfish, easily visible just off the shore.
Saint Anne Beach is undoubtedly the most popular in Guadeloupe. With its deep turquoise blue and calm water, it is the perfect place to relax after an island tour. Nearby you‘ll find the local market, traditional restaurants with caribbean meals and different bars. All you need.
Repi N — Google review
A very busy beach and parking is very difficult to find so I can advise you to look around town for free parking and walk a little to the beach. The sand is very white and the water clear however you do need to walk a bit further into the water before you can swim. On the beach you can get the artisan made coco ice cream , that is really worth it! Bring some cash. If you want to sit down for a coffee or some ice cream you can also visit Gelato & Cappuccino Maitre Glacier Italien which is a great place.
Marcel M — Google review
Presumably the best beach on the island. You can get the Bus Orange S01 from Pointe-a-Pitre for EUR 3,- one way to St. Anne. Leaves about every 20 minutes. On your way back walk to the church/townhall and look for the orange pole. Busses tend to get crowded in St. Anne, so people get left standing in the bus stops towards Pointe-a-Pitre. It is a paradise for families, yet can get packed, of course. Beautiful beach, still water and palm trees. Also some iguanas-in-residence. Enough natural shade and fine white sand, so no need for renting sunbeds ATM and supermarket near bus stop, if you care for the occassional coconut drink, buy it at the market stalls at the bus stop.

Love it Restaurant right there Respectful crowd, mix Young and old Family and single Transat rental for great price
Natalie C — Google review
Beautiful beach, clear sea and white sands. Some shade is available under the trees and there's lots of market stalls and restaurants and bars on the beach front to stop at.
Briony — Google review
Popular beach with beautiful sea. A little shelter under trees. Restaurants and shops nearby.
Leaburn — Google review
Don’t waist your time and go there. We went on a Saturday in march and the beach is fuller than Côte d’Azur in August. TOTALLY overcrowded. The beach is nice, but if it is so full that you can’t put your towel somewhere….! We left after 10 minutes.
Michael P — Google review
There's a long stretch of sand here with places for everyone. Towards the restaurants there's less shade, but there are sunbeds. In the area with more shade, the water is also deeper, there are ropes to protect against sargassum, but the beach is narrower. Lots of food trucks if you want to try the local food. In the weekend it does get quite busy. All in all, it's a must visit in this part of Grande Terre

Karaib Rider's Park offers an exhilarating inflatable structure that floats above the serene, turquoise waters of Sainte-Anne beach's lagoon. Le Village Artisanal is a fantastic destination to acquire your mementos and access restroom facilities. It boasts an exceptional shoreline situated opposite, featuring several bars. It's important to note that this particular location exclusively accepts Euro currency. With over 30 boutiques available, both indoors and outdoors, the prices are truly reasonable. A diverse selection of stores can be found, some even equipped with air conditioning.
Great place to get your souvenirs and use the toilet. Great beach across the road with a few bars don't forget you will need Euro's here

Every store sell similar items, nothing surprising, can walk through the place in 10 minutes. Get a little bar here if you don’t want to move. Toilet is nice though ~ can cross the street and walk to the beach, much nicer.

It's not very artisanal. The same things are for sale, just some vendors are nice and inviting and others aren't.

Pretty must just mass produced plastic stuff. Traditional souvenirs. But you CAN find a few nice things. 😉 It’s not local sellers/producers. It’s a lot of shops with all the same bags with “Guadeloupe” printed on. Guess I was a bit disappointed.

I really appreciated this place. It's perfect if you want to buy some souvenirs for family and friends. Little tip : go to the other shops before buying an item you can sometimes find better for cheaper just next door.

Parking plage de Caravelle is your gateway to one of Guadeloupe's most stunning beaches, Plage de la Caravelle, located in the charming town of Sainte-Anne. This picturesque stretch features soft white sands and swaying coconut palms that frame a serene turquoise bay, perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The calm waters are particularly family-friendly, making it an ideal spot for those traveling with children.
(Translated by Google) Parking costs €3 per day, it is also the access road allowing access to Caravelle beach without staying at Club Med. Cars park for free along the way. We didn't dare because there was a sign prohibiting parking. We preferred to pay. At 5 p.m. there was no one left to manage the parking lot. Access to the parking lot was therefore free. The path to the beach along the sea is about 5 minutes on foot. Caravelle beach is public, although adjacent to Club Med. The setting is very beautiful, in June not excessively busy. The beach is quite narrow, with coastal erosion the sand goes away. You have to find it elsewhere, without unbalancing the extraction environment... We came across an iguana there, not shy of humans. There are quite a few snack bars along the beach. Possibility of resting in the shade of coconut trees, there are generally no coconuts. On a préféré payer.

If you're looking for a delightful dining experience after a day at the beach, Pizza 2000 is an absolute gem! Nestled near the illuminated Sainte Anne beach, this pizzeria serves up delicious wood-fired pizzas that are sure to satisfy your cravings. The service is impressively quick, and the friendly staff make you feel right at home. Whether you're indulging in their classic offerings or requesting a vegan option without cheese, each pizza boasts a thin crust and generous toppings that elevate its flavor.
A fabulous pizzeria with some of the finest staff working there. The open fire oven makes all the difference to the tastes. I shall return before flying back to Ireland 🇮🇪

(Translated by Google) Apart from the fact that for once the pizzas were on time (because yes before posting a review we tried several times... you'd think we like to suffer), the politeness and quality of the pizzas are absolutely catastrophic. The two pizza chefs at the back are extremely unpleasant. You can come in and say hello, they won't answer you, the same goes for goodbye 👋. Really disappointing also in terms of taste, dry cardboard with mediocre toppings. Really this time after three attempts and really goodwill and politeness on our part, we will spend our money elsewhere.

(Translated by Google) Poor. I had pizza and I wonder if the pizza maker understood that I wanted pizza. I found myself with pizzas that were lifeless, without charm, that is to say bland, without spices and with missing tomato sauce. It's not enough just to put cheese and be cheap on the tomato sauce. I hate pizza like this. A pizza that left its mark on me: the boucané. The chicken was off with the tomato sauce??? How dare you call your pizza boucané with supposedly smoked chicken and you put chicken breast??? Are you in pain??? I don't recommend this place at all.

I went to Le Baholi last night and had some reservations after reading certain reviews. Although it's a bit pricier compared to other places nearby, the atmosphere, welcoming staff, and delectable small plates make up for the difference in cost. It's a wonderfully intimate spot that's perfect for a romantic evening or hanging out with friends. I plan on returning before my vacation ends.
We tried Le Bahöli last night and I was a bit apprehensive considering some of the reviews. Whilst a little more expensive than other places on the strip, the ambiance, friendly staff and delicious tapas compensate for the price difference. Super cosy and perfect for an evening for a couple or with friends. Will be going back before the end of the holiday. Also the drinks are very strong so don’t know why the other reviews state otherwise - and we’re Irish so we’re qualified to say 😂

Restaurant
Koté Sud is a high-quality gastronomic experience located in the town of Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe. The restaurant offers a discreet yet professional welcome and serves delicious fine cuisine that blends Antillean and French flavors. Situated just a few steps from Caravelle Beach, it provides the perfect setting for a family or couple's outing.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at a wonderful restaurant, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a perfect balance of creativity and authenticity, with every dish beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. One of the highlights was a dish that stood out for its impeccable preparation and taste—it was simply exquisite. The attention to detail in both the food and the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring an enjoyable dining experience. This was more than just a meal; it was a celebration of flavors and a testament to culinary excellence. I can’t wait to return and discover more of their offerings. Highly recommended!

Koté Sud is a dining experience that stands out as exceptional in Guadeloupe. From start to finish, it showcases a dedication to freshness, creativity, and quality that is hard to match. The restaurant is close to the Plage de la Caravelle and has a lovely shady garden ambiance. The menu offers unique and imaginative dishes that are beautifully plated. Everything is made in-house, and the freshness of the ingredients is evident. We even saw the owner bringing in live lobsters from a local supplier—an impressive touch that highlights the restaurant’s commitment to quality. For our meal, we started with scallops draped in a cucumber-coconut sauce. The flavors were perfectly balanced, light yet rich, and genuinely memorable. For the main course, we chose the mahi mahi (“dorade”)—the fish of the day—glazed with passion fruit and served over an apple-potato mash. Every bite was a delightful blend of textures and flavors, showcasing the chef’s skill and creativity. The restaurant also offers an excellent wine list and seasonal cocktails that pair beautifully with the food. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience. Koté Sud combines impeccable food, thoughtful service, and a welcoming atmosphere. While Guadeloupe has many great dining options, this was, without a doubt, the highlight of our culinary experiences on the island. If you’re looking for a meal that’s both sophisticated and satisfying, this is the place to go.

Very unfortunate experience we had at this restaurant. We ordered La côte de boeuf, but it was not eatable, full with veins. For a €89 dish we couldn’t eat even two peace’s per person… We asked if there was a possibility to make a new one, but the answer was no and according the chef cook the meat was just fine. The wine was good though.

Trust reviews. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten track. You will find choices of fishes and meats, well executed. With techniques and balance. Friendly waiters and carribean musical atmosphere will complete the decor. No Seaview but, hey, you came for food.

Coup de cœur of a restaurant. Really recommend la ronde des entrées, the grilled chatrou and the assortment of desserts. An interesting fusion cuisine with exceptional flavours and perfectly cooked food. Service was really good as well.

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Plage de Bois Jolan, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Geograines. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Outdoor Activities
Plage de Bois Jolan, located near Sainte-Anne in Guadeloupe, is a serene and beautiful beach that offers a peaceful atmosphere and clear, calm waters. Visitors can enjoy lounging under the shade of palm trees and appreciate the lack of overcrowding. The shallow and sheltered waters make it ideal for families with children, while also being suitable for water sports like windsurfing and kitesurfing.
Nice unattended beach in a lagoon, riff not far away. A lot of trash and leftovers on the side. Pristine waters but not very clean on land. Free access with huge parking space. You can walk along the waterfront, partially inside the water.
Karl S — Google review
Lovely beach which I recommend. There is enough parking there.
Michael T — Google review
Perfect beach for relaxing. Lots of shade. Water was calm and great for floating or just sitting in the water. We got there at 9:30 and the parking lot was almost full.
Susan W — Google review
Excellent beach. Little waves which allows you to wade in the water. Great for families with little kids. Plenty of area that is full shade or full sun depending on what you are looking for. You can bring floats to just hang in the water. There is a full service restaurant at this beach. Great food/ desserts/drinks (full bar). Water is crystal clear with areas of sea grass. White sand and very fine. Perfect spot to spend the day.
Matthew F — Google review
Giving 5 stars because it is gorgeous but my kids did not like this beach. The water is very shallow and full of sea grass so it was not easy to swim/snorkel for my tweens/teens but this would be good for little kids who stay close to the shore. Beware the current is very strong further out where it is slightly deeper so they could not swim there. This is the PERFECT lay out/rest beach as there were so many amazing shade trees and private areas to rest. It is wild and beautiful to look at. There was quite a lot of sargassum but it was not too much as we were able to avoid it and it did not smell strong like in some places. The sand area is smaller and right next to the water but that I think adds to the charm. We found many perfect hammock spots. There weren’t too many people. There was one restaurant but it looked closed throughout the afternoon. Not sure if it was or not. No bathrooms that we could see. But this was a nice quiet place after the crazy busyness of Saint Anne beach.
Alissa S — Google review
One of our favourite beaches on Guadeloupe. The vegetation grows close to the water, so there are plenty of shaded places. A good long walk along the seashore is possible. The water is a little shallow but you can swim there. Glorious!
Peter J — Google review
Lovely long beach, easy to access and pretty empty as it's so long. Not very wide, but perfect to stop by the road and jump in the water. Also good to spend longer time there - has plenty of trees to hide from the sun.
Mari — Google review
A great place to relax and have a bbq (or a birthday party). Waves are not big, but it’s not broad as all the sand has been washed away due to Sargassum and Tornadoes.

Hesitant to visit the park after reading the mixed reviews. We decide to go, family of 4, 2 kids aged 3 and 6. After entering the park and seeing the kids farm setup I was expecting the worst as the setup is quite old and the animals are just caged doing nothing at all, however this was the only section of the park that was weathered and in a poor condition. The rest of the attractions were perfect, clean and the staff was by far a pleasure to deal with, they helped in every way and were very happy to see the kids have a great time. The kids had a blast at the water park and we even go to run the bigger water slides with the kids on our laps. We even had the luck of being in mango season and having fresh mango fall off their mango tree, some of the best mango I’ve ever had. The crepe at the bar was pretty good and only 5 euros. The eating area was spotless, large, shaded and many other shaded and well equipped lounging areas for the parents as the kids play. The bathrooms were clean and there was staff supervision at every pool area, not a very busy Sunday with many people but the afternoon was a bit more exciting with more kids around the water park. Most likely the highlight for our kids during our trip. Many exotic birds also parading around the grounds which entertained the kids. All the other kids around us also looked like they were having a blast, Glad we decided to go.

Action packed adventure. Very friendly staff, willing to assist even with a language barrier.
Lashorn C — Google review
Weird experience. The park was supposed to open at 10am, we arrived at 11am and nobody was in the reception. After some time waiting for someone to come, we got in and we noticed that we were the only ones in the park! My son loved to have all the water slides and the swimming pool to ourselves. But despite the water slides and the mini-jurassic park, everything else was either closed or in an abandoned state (walking dead style). Sad to see such a nice place in such a deprecated state, with so poor maintenance. Maybe we visited it at the wrong time of the year...
Mário C — Google review
My husband and I went with our 4 year old and 6 month old. We thought it was a charming, relaxed park with a variety of activities included in the entrance price (animals, mini golf, archery, trampolining, harness trampolines, a deep pool, a kids pool, 4 fun slides, a mini wheel fairground ride, a walk with moving dinosaur statues with sounds) run by friendly staff. The cafe has reasonably priced drinks and snacks (crêpes, paninis, fries) if you don't want the meal of the day.

Nestled along the picturesque coastline on Rue de Rotabas, Le Cabanon is a delightful seaside restaurant that captures the essence of laid-back dining. Known for its authentic Creole cuisine, this charming spot invites you to customize your meal with fresh salads, sandwiches, and refreshing smoothies. Families will find joy in their offerings like paninis and hot dogs, while everyone raves about the mouthwatering homemade fries.

The cuisine at La terrasse de Bois Jolan is top-notch, with a fantastic selection of dishes. The restaurant's placement is outstanding, and the staff, while occasionally tardy, are always pleasant. Booking ahead may be necessary to secure a table. The prices are fair, especially considering the opportunity to dine right by the beach.
The food is very good. Excellent location. The service is expectedly slow, but friendly. You may need to make a reservation to get a seat. Prices are reasonable especially for on-the-beach dining.

The “restaurant” is in a very good spot. Unfortunately, the menu is very limited (only 5 items, all with the same sides) and they should change the chef. I ordered a chicken skewer and it was undercook, basically raw!! I realized that half way through my meal - instead of changing the dish they cooked the left over and brought me the dish back. I brought to their attention the fact to change my dish instead of recooking it and so I got the tataki which was nothing special, and it was always with the same side of the chicken. Raw chicken is probably the worst thing you can have, it is very dangerous for your health. Plus, it is so expensive for what you get anyways. P.s. the picture is the full dish for 23€!!! I’m from Milan, I know what pricey is - this is a rip off.!
Sara D — Google review
We really enjoyed the food here. All the dishes had a lot of flavour and really stood out compared to some of the other local spots. Also the best menu enfant I’ve seen in Guadeloupe. I’d suggest booking as busy at lunch time.
Justin Z — Google review
After waiting 25 minutes for someone we had to unfortunately flag down to order food we were informed that the kitchen was closed. It was 3:25pm. Not 10 minutes after we saw a table of four receive their food. A waitress came up to us to ask if we were able to order and we informed her of what we were told. She looked visibly confused and went to speak with said waitress. We were told nothing else the entire time we were there. When we went up to the bar to pay for our drinks (as we weren't able to order food) the bartender was also confused as to why we weren't able to have a meal. I'm unsure of the motivation for not allowing us to eat, perhaps because we only spoke fluent English and Spanish, but we left with a very frustrating experience. Unfortunately we will not return and cannot suggest to others that they attempt to dine here either.
Krystal F — Google review
Excellent food and service. I was the only customer but to be honest I think the restaurant may have been closed. I visited several days before and it was closed but the chef did sell me beer. I came back again and it was the same situation but the chef didn't want me to leave disappointed and believe me, I wasn't. I will definitely return earlier in the day before I leave the island.
IRMA C — Google review
Nice spot. Difficult job holding a restaurant I guess. The chef chould keep the fish and revisit or remove the meat and the chichen. The side dish was the same for all and unfortunatly the rise was dry and badly cook. Could be more freindly but it seems not to be the worth point: The ratio quality prive was reallu bad but the price may pay more the place than the service and the food.

Restaurant
Chez Momo is a delightful culinary gem nestled in the serene surroundings of Saint Anne, where guests are welcomed with warmth and hospitality. The restaurant offers an impressive array of local dishes and mouthwatering barbecued options, all served in generous portions that are prepared to order. While this may lead to a bit of a wait during busy times, the experience is well worth it. Diners rave about the delicious flavors, particularly highlighting the maxi skewer—a hearty dish perfect for sharing.

(Translated by Google) A strange restaurant that apparently doesn't want customers. I wanted to accompany some friends who were coming for lunch by ordering juice and dessert. I was told I wasn't allowed, that I had to order either a main course or two starters ❌ It had already started badly, since if you wanted chicken (a friend's request), you apparently had to order the full menu, and the server didn't know what fruit juices were in stock or what flavors of ice cream they had. A restaurant that pushes you to start and doesn't know its products. We decided to leave.
