Le Jardin de la Montagne, also known as the Mountain Garden by Babo, is a lush and adventurous botanical paradise located in the beautiful mountains of Martinique. The garden, designed by a passionate horticulturist, boasts an impressive collection of over 230 plant species including cordylines, reines de Malaisie, balisiers pendulas, and more.
Amazing visit !! Don't get discouraged by the steep and twisty access road, the visit is absolutely worth it ! The owners are passionate and you'll get to see plenty of mountain plants and flowers, the visit was enchanting ☺️

Exceptional. Worth every meter of this steep road to the garden. Owner is really informative and even though we didn't speak Franch he made it understandable and interesting. Don't think - go!
Uroš K — Google review
Le Jardin de la Montagne chez Babo (Mountain garden by Babo) is one of the most beautiful places in Martinique. It's hidden in the beautiful mountains in height about 400 m above the sea. When you have a small car like we had, be careful, the road will be a bit difficult for you. We stopped under the Coq road and made short walk to the garden. The nature around is simply amazing! True paradise. Monsieur Babo is very passionate about his flowers and fruits. He or his co-workers will give you a guided tour around. It's in French but we could understand some names and usages of the plants. They have many plants that we have seen before but also many that were new for us and that are typical for this part of the world. You just have to visit this beautiful place, just amazing! (Fee is 5 eur.)
Martina J — Google review
A wonderful and magic place ! The guide could tell many hours about the plants of Martinique, we were fascinated ! And the prize is very fair ! You must visit it !!
F G — Google review
It's a perfect little spot to visit - the guide was super nice and explained about the Flora and Fauna on the island. The garden itself is wonderfully well kept and it's wondrous to wander through it. It's a bit hard to reach by car but that should not keep you!
Florian K — Google review
Spectacular. Has bridges in the treetops. Paths are well maintained.
Kali — Google review
Amazing garden and présentation from one of the caretakers. You'll learn a lot about the plants and could even taste some items along the way. The visit will take you roughly one hour

Mountain peak
Montagne du Vauclin offers a picturesque hike along the Atlantic coast, passing through mangrove forests and offering stunning views of the turquoise waters and Caravelle peninsula. The well-marked trail is best enjoyed in sunny weather to avoid muddy conditions. The intensity of the hike varies, with some steep and potentially slippery sections, but it rewards hikers with beautiful panoramic views.
(Translated by Google) Very beautiful view over the entire Atlantic coast and the Caravelle peninsula. The hike is quite difficult in intensity. It took me about 1 hour 20 minutes round trip. All along you can see a Stations of the Cross and after the walk, it is possible to go to the mountain garden which is located right next to it. Ps: the road to get there is very steep I recommend!

Grew up there. Probably one of the best view in the South of Martinique 🇲🇶 You can have a 360 views of the island when the sky is clear ! Every time I go back to Martinique I have to climb there and stay couple of hours to enjoy the view

(Translated by Google) A super nice walk to do with family or friends. However, it's very slippery in the rain, with lots of mud, so bring hiking/sports shoes. During Lent, you can also do it as a Way of the Cross; there's a small chapel at the summit for repentance. Hiking area
Sommet de la montagne du Vauclin offers a beautiful hike with steep paths and panoramic views of the Vauclin. The trail provides splendid viewpoints of the coast and is relatively easy to access. Visitors recommend wearing good hiking shoes for this superb walk, which also features Stations of the Cross. This 360-degree view makes it a very nice walk for nature enthusiasts.

(Translated by Google) Good. Where to start? Already for this parking it is not easy. Then, we went there around 11:00 a.m. but it's the tropics and its rains which leave a muddy path which is aptly named Du Calvaire! It's steep. It slips. It's hard. It slips. You hesitate to continue, thinking about the descent. So, you focus on your steps, the rope which runs along a part and the vegetation so as not to find yourself with all 4 irons in the air. There are crosses that show you the way. I, II, III, IV... until XIV and you arrive at the Chapel of the 7 sorrows (personally, I counted more!) and its redeeming Chist. ...and there you discover the view! A view that makes you forget the ordeal of the climb and you enjoy this moment. Then comes the descent which makes an Olympic ice rink look like a Paris-Dakar track! Oh yes. Advice. Go up equipped with good shoes and if it's muddy (like for us) shoes and a change of clothes! Market sticks are welcome too. (Original) Bon.

In a small group in the middle of the white sands or with a little aperitif on a small beach in the mangrove. We were pampered and blessed to enjoy this incredible nature. Nestled beside the beach, Chez Marie-Alice is a charming Creole restaurant run by a local family that offers an authentic taste of Martinique. While the ambiance may not be particularly striking, the culinary experience is truly exceptional. Diners rave about dishes like the grilled red snapper and chicken Colombo, both showcasing fresh ingredients and traditional flavors. The homemade coconut pudding drizzled with cinnamon syrup is a delightful way to end your meal.
We were there for 2 dinners on 15th and 16th July. This is a simple Creole restaurant beside the beach run by a local family. The environment is not very inviting. BUT, the food is absultely GOOD and tasty. The fish of the day was grilled red snapper, very fresh. In the side dish there is Breadfruit, new for me. The dessert homemade coconut pudding with cinnamon syrup tasted wonderful. The price is very reasonable.

Plage de Pointe Faula is a family-friendly beach located in the east of Martinique. One of its main attractions is the slow slope of the water, making it safe for small children. The beach features a long sand reef that extends 400 meters into the ocean, with shallow waters throughout, creating a unique experience where visitors can feel like they are both on land and in water simultaneously.
Beautiful beach, very many places where the water is shallow. There is a kite surfing center and several restaurants.
Maciej B — Google review
Could be a very enjoyable beach, especially with the cozy bars around and the kite-surfing possibilities offered. Unfortunately, the recurring presence of the sargassum seaweed makes it a horrendous sight to see, but especially smell. The 'infestation' goes on for miles and miles in both directions and a few kilometers into the Atlantic. Make sure you inform yourself before booking accommodation around it, to be aware of the presence of the rotting seaweed as it truly is a holiday breaker.

While the service may take a bit longer during peak times, guests are rewarded with generous portions and flavorful dishes that defy typical beach fare. The menu features delicious options like crispy fries and homemade ice cream, alongside an impressive selection of local beers, including the highly praised BAM.
The staff was really nice, we had pancakes that were giant and delicious. The local juices were also tasty and unique.

(Translated by Google) Disappointed by the impression of a forced sale to children. Our girls asked for a scoop of ice cream for 2 euros and ended up with a cup which is supposed to contain two scoops and which is charged 2.5€. Not only did we have the feeling that our children were being cheated, but above all doing it to children is particularly sad and disappointing. It’s not for the price difference of course, it’s for the way it’s done. And when the children present a €20 bill, the waitress surprisingly doesn't have the change... What bad luck. In short, take a few dozen steps further and enjoy peace of mind with your children in another establishment.

(Translated by Google) Where to begin? First of all, the service was terrible. We waited over an hour for three merguez sandwiches, one merguez and fries, and one sausage with fries. What did we learn after an hour of waiting? That there were no more merguez! Couldn't they have warned us sooner? Then, the quality of the food was poor. Dry bread, tasteless, mushy meat. The sandwiches contained an insane amount of sauce, disgusting. Finally, after enjoying this "delicious" meal, when we came to pay and pointed out that the prices charged weren't the same as those displayed, we were told, "It's nothing, there's not much difference." In short, catastrophic from start to finish. There are plenty of small restaurants or snack bars nearby that you should consider! Hiking area
Trou Cochon is a popular hiking spot located on the Vauclin peninsula in Martinique. The trail is well-maintained and suitable for hikers of all levels, including families with children. The area is known for its beautiful mangrove swamp, offering a serene and picturesque setting for nature enthusiasts. Visitors can follow the marked "sentier du Vauclin" path from the UCPA car park to explore the wild landscapes along the southeast coast of Pointe Vauclin.

If you're looking for an unforgettable kitesurfing experience, look no further than Blue Lagoon Kitesurf in Martinique. This fantastic school offers a unique opportunity to learn wingfoil and kitesurf in a serene environment, away from the crowds. With expert guidance from Guillaume, who is not only highly skilled but also incredibly personable, students can progress at their own pace while enjoying tailored lessons.
We spent 4 days learning to kitesurf at Blue Lagoon Kitesurf and had an amazing time! Guillaume was very considerate and flexible, making sure we never drove to the school if there was no wind and offering other times to kite if the wind was inconsistent. Iva was our coach and she was amazing!! She spoke English for me which was very appreciated and always gave the best advice, encouragement and examples. We had a lesson or two prior to coming to Blue Lagoon and once we were here, we were up on the board in our first lesson. We had a blast and the whole team was so welcoming and friendly, it was a very enjoyable vibe! Thank you guys so much!!

Fantastic kite school with amazing people. We spent 4 days in Martinique learning to kitesurf and chose this school because of their reviews, the responsiveness of Guillaume and the fact they could teach in english. We were not disappointed with our choice! The spot is accessible only by boat so there are no other kite schools in the area which meant there were times we had the whole spot to the 2 of us, this is very different to what you'd get at Pointe Faula! Guillaume and Iva were extremely flexible and communicated well, informing us in advance of when the wind was weak so that we didn't waste time or money getting to the school if the lesson couldn't go ahead. If the wind improved, they gave the opportunity to have the lesson last minute but there was no expectation/requirement, it all depended on whether we were able to make it. All in all, we really enjoyed our time, can now ride upwind and would 100% recommend people use Blue Lagoon to learn how to kitesurf! Merci Iva et Guillaume!

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Fleurdo Eco-Excursion. Not quite as popular as Pointe Faula, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 5 hours.

We have had such a beautiful time and lovely lunch after our horse race in Vauclin; from starter to deserts, there's nothing much to say than you should definitely pay them a visit. We went there just before their EPC's event, a week earlier but i guess it must be a great night!!

Restaurant
Nestled near Pointe Faula, Restaurant Le K'bana is a delightful spot that exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. The charming owners, Beatrice and Claude, create an experience that's both friendly and fun. Diners can indulge in a variety of delicious options, from mouthwatering grillades to homemade pizzas—there's something for everyone! Don't miss out on Beatrice's fantastic Caipirinha cocktail; it's a must-try!
Wonderful restaurant beside Pointe Faula. The atmosphere is genial and mellow. The owners (Beatrice & Claude) are so welcoming, kind and fun. The food is great too of course! Our favorites are the grillades and the home made pizzas - so many choices to choose from. By the way, Beatrice makes an awesome Caipirinha cocktail . Try it! We heartily recommend K’bana!!

They enjoy a wonderful location reserved for kitesurf and windsurf lovers. We went for a drink and the service wasn't very good. We were requested to take a seat out on the terrace despite the fact that it was raining because we were going to have just drinks. (There were plenty of free tables inside) The drinks took ages to come, and it wouldn't had mind if they would had been apologetic, but they couldn't care less. So no stars for service.

Great local place that has a daily menu. Everything was fresh. I had the pork ribs which were simply prepared and excellent. There is a pizza menu and we also has a veggie pizza that was excellent. Dont panicked when you drive in. There are cars everywhere and limited parking.
