Architectural Buildings
Parque Serafín Sánchez, located in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, is a bustling public square surrounded by a mix of colonial and modern buildings. The plaza features the Biblioteca Provincial Ruben Martinez, resembling a local opera house. It is also home to an eclectic mix of 18th- and 19th-century architecture, including the town library and a museum showcasing the province's history. As the sun sets, locals gather at the park to socialize.
Being the province capital, Sancti Spiritus is not that popular than its sister city Trinidad due to the fame of World Heritage of Trinidad. However this city is a hidden gem in Cuba that you can slowly enjoy its colonial charm without much hassle and in a less tourist ambience. Also found in 1514, Sancti Spiritus is also one of the earliest cities founded by the Spanish and it just celebrates its 500 birthday in 2014. Thus, the oldest church and bridge can be found in this city. At its centre, Parque Serafin Sanchez may be one of the most beautiful colonial plaza in Cuba where handsome neoclassical mansions stood around the park. It is not a off beaten destination and worth a day to stroll inside the old quarter and enjoy the friendly and shy smile of the local.

Al Medio is a hidden gem that may go unnoticed at first glance, with its unassuming grilled door leading to a spacious interior reminiscent of a European tavern. While the ambiance and layout may seem familiar, the food served here is distinctly local and surpasses typical state restaurant fare. The cocktails are highly recommended, and the surrounding guests' meals look equally enticing.
Excellent place, the decoration of the restaurant is beautiful and the service is very good, very quiet place to enjoy with the family and friends, I recommend this restaurant.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the north side side of town. Start the day off with National Museum of the Struggle Against Bandits, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Museo de Arte Colonial. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

The National Museum of the Struggle Against Bandits offers a fascinating glimpse into Cuba's tumultuous past, particularly focusing on the conflict with counterrevolutionaries during the 1960s. Visitors can explore an array of photographs and military artifacts that vividly depict this historical struggle. For those looking to enhance their experience, a free walking tour is available daily at 5:30 pm in multiple languages, starting from a nearby park marked by the iconic yellow bell tower.
A lovely old building in an equally lovely old part of the city which includes a lot of UNESCO sights. It now houses the Museum of the Fight against Bandits (Museo de la Lucha contra Bandidos), which chronicles the Escambray Revolt (1959–1965) against counter-revolutionary bands.

Eddy T — Google review
It was worth walking up the stairs to the tallest structure within Trinidad for some great vantage points and pictures.
Sunny M — Google review
Why are there 5 star reviews? If travelling from resort areas; visit Sancti Spíritus no need to go to Trinidad. Entrance to “museum” is poorly managed and it just gets worse. Stairs are dangerous with loose steps and left hand railing ready to break with slight push at one point. The access to top of the tower was closed off; Poor signage and angry staff if you don’t understand Spanish. Mass produced “Souvenirs”; again visit Sancti Spíritus beautiful downtown great places to eat, amazing library building super friendly people. What is UNESCO responsibility post world heritage designation? There needs to be obligations of maintenance;upkeep and especially safety in preserving important landmarks.
Dave M — Google review
Views from the top of the belltower are what is most important, the museum itself also worth a visit to feel the revolutionary flair...

Restaurant
La Taberna is a popular spot in the old Quinta de Santa Elena by the Yayabo river, offering a refreshing mojito or local beer accompanied by live music. Despite its tourist appeal, it's frequented by locals and offers fair prices, good staff, and a great view. The place is known for having an extensive selection of Serrano Hams. It's an ideal stop to relax and enjoy some drinks while taking in the lively atmosphere.
Dined here three days running. Bit of a risk as they appeared reluctant to offer a menu except on my last visit. The food was great; service a little eclectic; this is Cuba, but worthwhile in the end. The bill for my first appearance came to 1200 ₱ for a pork dinner and a glass of decent sauvignon blanc. My (ahem) exchange rate at the time was 330 ₱ to US$1.
Stevie J — Google review
They had only one choice for dinner with three different options pork, chicken or chrimps. Ask for the prices before you order because they don't give you the menu so they can charge what ever they want. So of course they robbed us. 24$ for 2 dishes and 2 beers. Double price for this small town.
Yiannis R — Google review
Our restaurant friend from Trinidad recommended here to us. We just had half day tour in the town and were in the rush to go back to Trinidad. So we couldn't sit down and have a meal. Their prosciutto looked so appealing and hard to resist. We bought some and had it as our snack on the way back to Trinidad. Their outdoor sitting by the river looked so nice. And the staffs were friendly and professional. We would like to go there if we come back Cuba next time.
Eagleridge H — Google review
We discovered the restaurant by chance while strolling through the city and went in for a drink. The restaurant is very nicely located and impresses with the possibility to sit on a terrace or balconies overlooking the bridge. Unfortunately, the staff was not very friendly to us. We didn't get a menu despite asking several times, so we didn't know what the drinks cost or what was available to choose from. We ended up getting two small cans of beer and paying 500 CUP for them. Although we first considered coming back in the evening to eat, we then decided against it after the experience. You can sit nice but the overall atmosphere is not very inviting. Too bad.
Chris T — Google review
Always ask for a menu first, trust me:) I didn't get scammed but heard from many that they like to scam people. Also they act so suspicious when you ask for menu.. they said it's not available until I said I am influencer and I want to film it. Yesterday they told me that the prices changes here when I asked about it😅 So just be careful when coming here!😄😄

A real island of normality in the bizarre restaurant experience that is Cuba. The fish is fresh, the meats tasty, the service is good and they even have cheese. They have a wine cellar which you can go down into to choose a bottle, with reasonably priced bottles. Both tourists and locals go here so it feels a little like being in a non tourist place, mixing with locals, which is a sadly rare experience in Cuba.

The Fundacion de La Naturaleza y El Hombre, also known as the Nature and Mankind Foundation, is a Cuban non-profit organization established by biologist and writer Antonio Nunez Jimenez in 1994. (Translated by Google) On our trip to Cuba certainly the best museum visited. The gentleman who acted as our guide spoke excellent Italian (self-taught) and tried to answer all our questions. The recommended price (but free of charge) is two cuc per person, I highly recommend you give him more, he deserves them all.

Restaurant
Located in Vedado, Paladar Los Amigos is positioned off the main road. Predominantly frequented by locals, although recently making efforts to attract tourists. This establishment has garnered praise for its cuisine and attentive service. While some patrons have expressed concerns about the prices, with entrees averaging $10, they have found solace in trying the picadillo dish for the first time which was deemed worth it.
Amazing restaurat! Excelent food. We had “Lamb of the house” and damn it was good! Fruit juice also amazing! Flan as a desert very recomended! The service was very nice even though there was no electricity at the time of our visit.
