Puerto Escondido in 3 days

If you only have 3 days to spend in Puerto Escondido, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Puerto Escondido is a laid-back Pacific beach town known for its powerful surf at Playa Zicatela, one of Mexico’s top spots for experienced surfers and international competitions. Quieter beaches like Carrizalillo and Manzanillo offer calmer waters for swimming, snorkeling, and learning to surf. The town has a relaxed, low-rise atmosphere with casual seafood eateries, markets, and small bars rather than large-scale resorts. Nearby bioluminescent lagoons, mangroves, and coastal wetlands add easy day-trip options for nature and wildlife watching.
With favorites like Mercado Benito Juárez, Puerto Mezcal Tours, and Espadín Restaurante, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Non Solo Pizza and Cocofam so you can get the best taste of Puerto Escondido while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Outdoor Activities
Puerto Angelito is a small, sheltered beach with calm waters that make it perfect for activities like snorkeling and paddle boarding. It is located in a crescent-shaped bay near the town center and offers a relaxed and laid-back atmosphere. The beach, along with its neighboring Playa Manzanillo, stretches for about 120 meters and features beautiful white sand, clear aquamarine waters, and rocks at either end.
Good for swimming and super chill. Busier on the weekends but great atmosphere
Florence E — Google review
Excellent beach for affordable food and relaxed swimming. The water was clean and fresh. We loved how this beach was not too busy and had lots of happy families.
Isabelle P — Google review
Small pretty bay, but over crowded and with loads of boats mooring. The water wasn't clean because of the boats. No shade unless you want to pay for the sunbeds
Elena * — Google review
Beautiful local beach. Not much room on the sand, due to boats. Crystal clear water and many vendors. Can get busy, but worth checking out. Can book boat tours here very easily.
Errol L — Google review
Spent a few hours here. Although it is a small beach the water is beautiful! I can see how it can get crowded fast since it’s a hot spot for the locals. There’s not much room for sun bathing but if you dine at the restaurant you’re able to leave your stuff there to swim about in the water.
Carol-Marie — Google review
It’s a lovely bay but very very busy at the weekends. At one point there was 5 rows of people in the shallows making almost impossible to enter the water. You can see some fish in the rocks if you are early in the morning and there are many many bars and restaurants to grab food or drink, most are more expensive than the other local beaches. It is nice but go early and on a weekday.
Henry H — Google review
Great for snorkeling, I have only been snorkeling twice before and I didn't need a life vest because the water is very buoyant there. There were a lot of locals there but everyone was friendly. No one minded that I put up my beach tent and flew my drone.
IBFLYN2 — Google review
Puerto Angelito is an excellent beach for families with kids and older adults. No big waves, lots of floaties for rent and boat rides. Occasionally you will come across ice cream sellers. 20 pesos is what I paid for and it was well worth it. Very good!! Make sure you throw out your garbage. Puerto Manzanillo is connected to Puerto Angelito via walkway in between and is less crowded. Waves are a little bigger here. Crystal blue waters. There are rocks separating both beaches if you want to explore and collect rocks and shells.

Supermarket
ATM
Chedraui Puerto Escondido is a popular supermarket located in the town center, offering a wide range of products including fresh produce, meats, household items, and even scooters and motorbikes for sale. It attracts both locals and tourists with its convenient location and underground parking for bikes and cars. Visitors can also enjoy good coffee at the cafe while exploring the big supermarket that offers an excellent wine selection and sometimes even vegan cheese. Additionally, there are ATMs available inside for added convenience.
I thought it was like any other Chedraui. Has everything I needed at decent prices. Wasn’t as nice as the one in Cancún but that’s ok. ATMs/cajeros in the back work well. HSBC was the cheapest rate for us at this time of posting (81 pesos). It was safe.
B E — Google review
Easy access from playa principal beaches. Good variety; however, prices were often higher than convenience store. Would have liked to see their bakery items in an enclosed cabinet rather than being exposed. General store cleanliness could be improved.
George C — Google review
Scammers charge way more than on the pricetags. 20 euros for a glass of mexican beans! Price tag for almonds says 43 pesos, the receipt suddenly 93! And they charge a charity donation without any consent. Always control your receipt!
M. P — Google review
It's relatively big supermarket in the center of Puerto Escondido, has many choices but expensive. Mostly big packages, harder if you look for smaller products as a traveller. It is really disorganized and the prices announced don't match the products, I struggled for long time to understand the price of staff and still I was surprised while paying (they don't care at all as it seems to put an order on the price labels of the products). Open until 22.00. If you want to pay by card it has to be a physical card (no NFC), they don't charge commission in that case.
Arriana M — Google review
Expensive prices, super lazy and rude employees. The butcher didn’t cut the meat, the guy from the bread said he wouldn’t use the machine to make slices . The supermarket didn’t had bags, not even for sell. Asked for boxes to transport the items and they said they didn’t had although they had empty boxes just next to me. I will be in Puerto escondido for 2 weeks and this was the first and last time I will go to this supermarket.
Afonso B — Google review
Has everything you need also cash machines good here
G. W — Google review
Good coffee at the café. Big supermarket with all the odd little things you're used to from home and an excellent wine selection. Sometimes they have vegan cheese too

Playa Principal

Public beach
Playa Principal is the bustling main beach in Puerto Escondido, where local fishermen launch their colorful boats each morning to harvest the ocean's bounty. Visitors can observe traditional fishing practices, participate in beach soccer games, or simply relax and watch the daily lives of the locals. While not ideal for surfing, it offers calm waters for swimming and bodyboarding. The familial atmosphere and convenient speedboat connections to other beaches make it a popular spot among locals.
Very nice beach during december/january. It is not that busy, full of local people I love it. The beaches are kind of clean, there are a lot of waves in this time of the year! There are also a lot of people offering food, drinks, ice cream etc. On the left there is an parachuting landing zone, so it is incredible to watch them land. 100% recommend this beach to visit!
Janse — Google review
This area was so fun to explore! We stumbled on the 2025 Marlin Fest, which offered a cash prize for the fisherman with the largest Marlin catch. There were tons of vendors and families enjoying the water. Such a picturesque area to walk around. We enjoyed local ice cream and explored the neighboring street vendors. Highly recommend to visitors.
Isabelle P — Google review
The older part of Puerto Escondido and the fishing port area. Charming street. Lots of shops and places for coffee and food. Swimming beach as well.
David M — Google review
Beautiful beach with restaurants, there are usually waves - fun to swim, but I'd advance do not leave your children without supervision - waves can be stronger than you'd think.
Ilona T — Google review
Amazing clear water the waves here are calm and there is a pier for fishing
Iguana M — Google review
Very crowded on the weekends w locals. Good food and drinks as well as gift shops on the streets above.
VR S — Google review
Large beach with free shade close by, lots of locals come here but it's not too crowded. You can buy fresh fruits and eat on the beach and also there are restaurants.
Oxana — Google review
Because of covid the beach was very quiet. Swimming areas and places to surf. 4km beach to run everday. Good swimmin

Fresh food market
Mercado Benito Juárez in Puerto Escondido is a must-visit for food enthusiasts. This bustling market offers an authentic taste of Mexican cuisine, featuring a variety of dishes such as chilaquiles verdes, enchiladas, fish tacos, tlayudas, and cactus salads. Visitors can explore the diverse stalls offering fresh produce, meats, and vegetables alongside souvenirs and clothing.
Decent sized market offering everything from clothing to housewares to food to souvenirs. There is also a large selection of restaurants. Prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking when we arrived on a late Thursday morning.
Amy V — Google review
Absolutely the best market I have been to in any country. The place is huge with everything divided into sections. Flowers, fruit/vegetables,Meat, cheese, fish, bakery, spices, and souvenirs. It also had about 50 stalls to eat food. Found some unusual items. A pigs head and a 30lb bags of Cheetos. ( cheecho's )
Jeff S — Google review
Visited Puerto for a little while over the holidays and I have to say; the vendors are quite competitive but the freshly made food, fresh sweet bread and fresh fruit waters are such a Delicious reason as why to go visit.
Sintya G — Google review
I bought fruit, 🍌 and 🍅, among other things because I was getting leg cramps 🙃 😫.
Be R — Google review
Is THE MARKET where you can find from beautiful dresses to exquisite food and fresh groceries. Also the ceramics and souvenirs are amazing and super affordable. I highly recommend the market and the experience where you can mix with the locals!
Milva R — Google review
A good time filler when in the town centre. Had multiple sections from food/ stalls at the far end to flowers, clothes, fresh meat and fresh veg. There is also a section for souvenirs and even toilets if required. Some mural art but limited amounts. Nice for a look around.
Travelling D — Google review
100% awesome, 110% big vibes. This mercado is great. You’ll find everything from souvenirs and street snacks to quirky gifts and hidden gems. Smack in the heart of Centro, it’s buzzing with color, character, and real-deal Mexican flavor. Don’t be shy—lean into the chaos, soak up the culture, and enjoy the ride.

Not only did we enjoy looking around, but also had one of our favourite meals. The Mole at one of the restaurants was incredible.

Bodies of Water
Mangrove-lined coastal lagoon, home to ibises, ospreys & herons, plus luminescent plankton.
Chill place to paddle in boat 🚣‍♀️ around. We came here part of a tour package. After sunset, the mosquitoes 🦟 are brutal out here... it’s happy hour and our block is the mosquitos favorite cocktail.
David Z — Google review
Very easy walk in this park. You will be pressured to get guild, not necessary. buy Tickets ONLINE. If monkeys or sloth spotted there will enough looking up to know where they are. The guides will have telescope for you to see animals better and find the snakes and small creatures so not a bad idea to hire. They have closed restaurant in park so white faced monkeys not hanging out there. You can bring sandwich and water but NO plastic water bottles.
Eden W — Google review
Amazing experience swimming in the Bioluminescence, one of a kind.
Bobby N — Google review
It’s cool for a few minutes but gets old pretty quick. The light is dimmer than anything you see in pictures - looks like a faint white. Still a cool experience.
Cat C — Google review
Beautiful location. We rented a kayak and paddled around the area for 2 hours. We could have easily spent longer. This is definitely a place for bird watchers to visit. We went early (8am) and by 10am it was getting pretty hot. There was not much wildlife to be seen other than birds, but the trees were gorgeous.
Karaline — Google review
Very impressive almost unreal what goes on the water at night. This time around seen the bioluminescence white 🤍 and was able to swim in the water for about 30 minutes under a floating 🎪 tent... Once in a lifetime experience....
Jose R — Google review
The birdwatching tour in the lagoon was a highlight of our trip to Puerto Escondido. We used Manglar Tours. This is a special place
Patricia S — Google review
Fake listing. Don’t pay these inflated prices. The laguna/lake is found 20 minutes west of Puerto Escondido, you can see it on the map. Just drive there between sunset and 9:30pm and you’ll only pay 150 pesos to have a tour.
Bingsu — Google review
MAGICAL!!! Tips that I think would be helpful to know: We booked a lagoon tour via WhatsApp with Restaurant La Rosa de Monterrubia, a lovely chap named Antonio. We spent a little extra on a private tour so we could go later when it was fully dark (very important - light and full moons are no bueno). Antonio gave us a price much lower than the larger group tours we were trying to book from the bigger places. We got a taxi from PE which took about 20 min each way. Arrived 8:15pm, well after sunset. It was a little spooky pulling up to the restaurant when it was dark, after all the other tourists have left. But Antonio greeted us straight away and walked us down a wooden walkway to the dock. A 20 min boat ride along the lagoon takes you to the swimming area where the luminescence is indescribable. That would’ve been more than enough value for our money. But we then cruised another 15 min or so to where the river meets the lagoon, and that is where I won’t spoil the magical display that awaits you. You CANNOT swim in this area, which has crocodiles, but if you’re lucky you’ll see their red eyes in the light and get a thrill. The stars were incredible to gaze during the serene drive back on the calmest waters you’ve ever seen (sit up front). Highly recommend!

Non Solo Pizza is a local favorite with delicious pizza and pasta options. The waitstaff is friendly and accommodating, even setting up extra tables outside to avoid waiting. The complimentary bread, balsamic, olive oil, mixed vegetables, and drinks add to the overall dining experience. While the restaurant may not look like much from the outside, it offers an excellent value for its quality food. It's advisable to make a reservation in advance due to its popularity among locals and visitors alike.
Always great quality salad, pasta and pizza. Comfortable setting (ask to sit in the back room as it is cooler). Staff are always approachable and helpful. We take out their pizza as well. Highly recommend if you crave Italian food.
Debra — Google review
Best pizza I have had in Mexico, hands down. It definitely gets busy, so don't plan on walking up and getting a table immediately. I haven't tried any of the pastas, but have eaten a lot of their pizza and look forward to going back every time.
Lucas S — Google review
It seems like it is a very popular pizza place, just be aware that they have pizzas starting at 5:00 pm which I didn't know but I didn't mind waiting. The soup, the pasta and the pizza were great. It is not the style of pizza I like but still good, it is more italy realistic pizza type 😅 prices are reasonable, and service is good and attentive. I recommend if you are in the area and want to try something good. I also have to mention that the music was great.
Mine J — Google review
This is (by far) the best pizza I’ve had in Mexico. Authentic Italian food made with a lot of love (you can taste it). We will make sure to stop by each time we come to Puerto Escondido!
Elise P — Google review
Super friendly & personable staff. Bolognese spaghetti with handmade pasta was divine. For appetizer, you are served bread with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and salt. Cash only
Beverly M — Google review
Recommended to us by a friend. Best pizza we’ve had in Puerto, nice selection of red wines by the glass. Awesome bruschetta. I hear the pasta is great, too. Tip- doesn’t look much from outside but the back patio is pretty. Make a reservation though or you risk being disappointed!

New Review a year later (2025). The lasagna SLAPS. We come back to Non Solo year after year and I can't even express the magic of this place. Do yourself a favour and order the lasagna. It is the BEST. The only inconvenience is that I find it hard to order anything else (I'm right hooked!), and I want to eat EVERYTHING on this menu! This time around we got the 4 stagionne pizza (Superb!) My dad got the meat ravioli with parmesan, my partner got the spinach ravioli with Bolognese... And we all wished we could eat more. But we were so full, full and HAPPY. Wonderful staff, great music, and just try the food. It speaks for itself 👌👌👌 100/10 Review 2024 This place is perfection. The ravioli! Wow. Real authentic delicious food. We tried the Bolognese sauce, which even my nonna would have approved. The tomato sauce is simple and so delicious. We had two pizzas, both exceptional. The math is just right, exquisite ratio of a perfect crust, with a savoury simple tomato sauce, generous toppings and fresh cheese. Like I mentioned earlier, perfection. I haven't had a chance to try the rest of their delicious menu yet, but I am excited for it! I have no doubt anything you order here will delight you, a slice of Italy in Puerto Escondido!

Nestled in the vibrant town of Puerto Escondido, Cocofam is a delightful haven for those seeking delicious vegan and vegetarian Mexican cuisine. Highly recommend - great vegan food at a really reasonable price, and super friendly owners! The restaurant forms part of the owners’ house but it’s still got a lovely feel to it and the courtyard garden is especially nice. The food is so yummy and healthy (recommend the tacos), and the drinks are especially good! The prices are extremely good compared to other vegan spots in Puerto. Owners are so friendly and welcoming, and always have a smile on their face :)

Unique, authentic food and drinks with a modern twist. This place is ahead of its time but absolutely worth experiencing. We got a tasting of their different special drinks made from local ingredients. The server was super nice too! Explained the concept and menu very well. 10/10.

Great little vegan spot in what seems like someone's home. The menu options are not too extensive and the focus seems to be more on vegetables than mock meats. However the food was fresh, reasonably priced, and the service was good. Would recommend checking it out after checking out the market.

We came here when our flight was massively delayed and had THE best meal we ate in puerto Escondido. Loved everything about it, everything was beyond delicious and the service was so warm and kind. Definitely visit if you are in puerto Escondido!

Loveeeee this place. The vegan tacos and the oat/seed drink were PHENOMENAL 😍 I will definitely be back! The restaurant is located in the same place as before but now is inside the building on the parallel street, for those who are looking for it. The service is also really great, very kind humans and we can feel the love they put into the food. The inside seating area is nice and quiet, you just gotta ask to sit inside!

This place is amazing. The food has so much taste and is really fresh. I have been here two times and planned to come back. They are close on Sundays. The service is so nice and welcoming. The vegetables are from the rigion and the service has so much knowledge about the región where the vegetales and I gradiente come from. The place is small so do not expect a big restaurant. There are only two tables out in the front. Not a lot of space. Waters are made of Cacaco, and they are amazing. 👍👍👍🌄🌄🌄🌅🌅🌅

Taco restaurant
Mexican restaurant
Pepe's Fish Tacos is a popular spot in Puerto Escondido, known for its great vibe and delicious food. It's a favorite among locals and tourists who enjoy sipping drinks, indulging in tacos, and taking in the beautiful view. The place has a rustic charm with basic furnishings and no table service, but the food is exceptional. The fish and shrimp tacos are described as crunchy, juicy, and flavorful with a tropical twist and Mexican hints.
If you’re in Puerto Escondido and you love tacos, Pepe’s Fish Taco is an absolute must. Yes, it’s a bit out of the way and the setting isn’t postcard-perfect – but trust me, it’s worth every minute of the trip. Pepe is the heart and soul of this place. He’s incredibly kind, always taking the time to chat with his customers and share his story. In the past ten years, he’s had to move thirteen times. He once had a spot on the main street, but as gentrification drove rents up, he could no longer afford it. Then, a hurricane hit, forcing him to start over yet again. Today, he cooks with the same passion in a more modest location, without ever compromising on quality. And the quality is outstanding. The tacos are absolutely delicious – flavorful, generous, perfectly seasoned – and very affordable. Special mention goes to the peanut sauce, created by a chef from the Czech Republic, which adds a unique, addictive touch to every bite. You can taste the heart and dedication in every dish. Tip: take a taxi or scooter to get here, as the way can be a little tricky. But once your plate is in front of you, you’ll completely forget the journey. In short, Pepe’s Fish Taco is a slice of authenticity and warmth in a fast-changing Puerto Escondido. You’ll come for the flavor, but you’ll return for Pepe himself.

This is the REAL DEAL Easily the best thing we have eaten in 3 weeks in Mexico. Huge portions, amazing flavours, great service (a rarity in PE), nice vibes. We both enjoyed a shrimp taco and a fish taco. Both were so good! Seriously, you can't go wrong here. Far far better than other "viral" fish taco place in La Punta (pretty much everything we ate on the main drag in La Punta was "meh"!) Feel free to check my honest reviews of the other one for clarity! Thanks again for a fab meal!

Hands down the best tacos I’ve had in Mexico. Delicious crispy batter and I love the coconut nibs. Everything tasted so fresh and lovely. The portions are also so generous. The live music is super great and the owner is such a great guy. Thanks Pepe!

There is real love and care taken in this place to produce a truly amazing product. From the perfectly soft handmade tortillas to the complex sauces. I’d never experienced Hawaiian style tacos like this before. After an epic hangover I popped in to grab some takeaway which they informed me they don’t do and honestly so glad I sat in and had a chat with Pepe who is a wonderful host and obviously cares so much about what he does. Sit in, grab a cold beer, have a chat to the staff and enjoy this simple but wonderful place for what it is.. beautiful hospitality and stunning food. A must visit if you’re in puerto.

Hands down the some of the best tacos of my life, thus far. These tacos are so unique and made with fresh ingredients. The coconut batter is slightly sweet and the shrimp and fish are so fresh, along with the toppings. The salsas are delicious and have a good kick to them. We went the first time and couldn’t believe how good they were. We ended up ordering more. The next day we had to stop by again before leaving town. They were that good. The owner was there but had to close because he didn’t have help for the day and didn’t want to compromise the taste and experience, however, he let us stay since we had been there before and offered to wait. They are totally worth the wait. He was so kind and wanted to make sure we had another great experience. If you are in the area, make sure to stop and try his tacos. They really are something special. I’ll be dreaming about them until next time.

This is a great local spot away from the tourist trap restaurants in La Punta. Portions were super generous and the coconut battered fish tacos are top notch. Great array of condiments to go with it. We enjoyed it so much we went back twice and we’re glad we did. $80 peso per fish taco.

I loved this place so much the first time I visited in 2023, that I flew all the way from Toronto to have Pepe’s coconut shrimp tacos again. These are the best tacos you’ll have in Puerto Escondido, and likely all of Mexico. The coconut shrimp tacos and fish tacos are tear jerkingly good and I know I will dream about them until I’m back in Mexico again. The tacos are an absolute flavour explosion, are freshly made to order and are made with an undeniable amount of heart and soul. Pepe’s tacos are unreal and definitely worth a visit! We got the pescado and camaron tacos - they were both delicious and massive portions. The sauces are super unique and add a really nice flavour - will definitely be coming back

Espadín Restaurante is a must-visit spot in Puerto Escondido, perched atop the cliffs overlooking Playa Carrizalillo. The restaurant offers unparalleled sunset views over the Pacific Ocean, making it an ideal place to unwind and enjoy quality comfort food as the sun sinks into the horizon.
i can’t say enough about how much i love this place! the location, food and service could not be more perfect.i had the chicken mole, beet salad, and we shared the chocolate lava cake dessert. i would recommend arriving just before or after sunset so you get some amazing views of the ocean and colorful sky. beautiful and stunning! 😊

We enjoyed a beautiful view of the sunset and ocean, and the drinks were great! The food was a little basic for the price, and the service could improve a little. We felt a bit rushed to get our orders in before two big tables. It's nice for what it is, which is obviously the view, but I agree with other reviewers that it could be a great restaurant with some tweaks.

Espadín Restaurante By Chef Adolfo Jiménez Villas Carrizalillo Hotel, Puerto Escondido Perched atop the scenic cliffs of Puerto Escondido, Espadín Restaurante delivers a dining experience that seamlessly blends refined Oaxacan flavors with stunning coastal views. Helmed by Chef Adolfo Jiménez, the restaurant offers both culinary precision and atmosphere in equal measure. Food Camarones al Ajillo Succulent shrimp sautéed in a fragrant garlic mojo with chile guajillo, served alongside crispy potatoes. This dish is a bold yet balanced play on classic flavors — the shrimp are tender, and the guajillo-infused garlic sauce adds just the right amount of smoky heat. The potatoes provide a satisfying crunch that rounds out the plate beautifully. 9/10 Camarones al Coco Crispy coconut shrimp paired with sweet and sour mango sauce, pineapple-habanero mashed potatoes, and a marinated vegetable salad dressed with sesame. A vibrant dish that excels in contrast and harmony. The crisp texture of the shrimp pairs exquisitely with the tropical sweetness of mango and the subtle heat of the mashed potatoes. The salad adds freshness and balance. 9/10 Pulpo a la Parrilla Grilled octopus marinated in chimichurri, served over roasted chambray potatoes, grilled asparagus, and finished with a roasted garlic dressing. This was the standout of the evening. The octopus was masterfully grilled — tender, charred, and flavorful. The herbaceous chimichurri and the mellow garlic dressing tied the dish together with finesse. 10/10 Drinks Menta Limonada & Frappuccino Moka Both beverages were delightful. The mint lemonade was refreshing and aromatic, while the mocha frappuccino offered a creamy, indulgent contrast — an ideal pairing for the warm coastal setting. 9/10 Service Service was warm and attentive throughout. A minor error in food delivery was handled with professionalism and a sincere apology, reflecting the staff’s genuine commitment to guest satisfaction. 8/10 Ambiance Espadín boasts a breathtaking location, set atop a cliffside overlooking the ocean. The interior is elegant and serene, with a tasteful mix of natural textures and local design elements. The ambiance alone makes it worth a visit. 9/10 Price Considering the exceptional quality of ingredients, presentation, and overall experience, pricing is more than fair. This is fine dining without pretension. Verdict Espadín Restaurante is a gem in Puerto Escondido’s culinary landscape. With its thoughtful menu, polished execution, and stunning setting, it easily earns a spot among the top dining destinations in the region. Highly recommended for both visitors and locals seeking a memorable gastronomic experience.

This restaurant is situated down a dirt track in a very underwhelming area but once you go up the steps and see the view - wow. It was beautiful. Get there for 5.30pm to see the full sunset. We had prawns, guacamole, mahi fish and sea bass and a gorgeous table right on the terrace. Nice to have food that wasn’t just tacos.

This is a foreigner tourist focused restaurant as many in Puerto. The prices are high but the view is amazing. The view leads to Carrizalillo beach. The Best time to go is before sunset to watch it there. You should make a reservation if you want to go around 5 pm. At that time it could be an hour queue or even more in high season. The bathroom is small for the restaurant but enough. The food is not that well served, the size is smaller in comparison with other restaurants. The drinks are tasty and cute. The restaurant is inside a hotel but with its own entrance. I think is a good place to go once for the view or in a special ocassion. It's a familiar environment.
Javier M — Google review
Nice restaurant with an amazing view, but the food didn’t taste Mexican at all - it felt more like a European restaurant. Strangely, the salsa they served was way too spicy, which made the experience a bit odd overall. Maybe this place is better suited for drinks rather than a full meal. We were the only visitors. So not much vibe

Lovely place for dinner. Great views. Great food. Not that easy to find since it's off the main road, but wasn't too bad.

A good place to relax and drink some beers and mixed cocktails, they also serve seafood. You're allowed to smoke outside the place. The beer prices are between $65 and $70 pesos for a single regular bottle, the beachfront lounge chairs are $500 for two people ($250 ea) and you can use them pretty much all day.

What a gorgeous place to spend the day. You will have to take HWY 200 or also know as La Costera towards Rio Grande. It is 1hr from puerto escondido. You will have to pass Río Grande an take a left on Chacagua. Down the road You will get into the lagoon and there will be different Lancheros that will offer You their service to take You to the nacional park. The amount berries between 1500 to 2000 MX pesos. It is worth going to chacagua. An amazing place to stay or go for One day.

Transportation from Puerto Escondido: any Collectivo Shared Van service direction Rio Grande- tell the driver you are going to Chacahua National Park and need to exit at El Zapotalito. The stop or "parada" is on the main highway at a dirt road intersection. Cross the highway and wait at the small wooden Collectivo stand. A Collectivo Taxi will cost $25 Mxn for 10 min drive to the lancha /boat docks. Here is the tricky part! Make sure you use the far LEFT docks for the "local" lanchas. Google Maps "Lancha Collectivo" in El Zapotalito. This is where the lanchas are reasonable in price. The local captains are kind and fair. Direct non stop from El Zapotalito to Chacahua $200mxn per person. Or in Collective lancha to the Collective Camionetta to Chacahua is $50Mxn per person. Find Felipe he owns his own small lancha and is very kind for a Direct ride without Camionetta. WhatsApp +529541479971. **CAUTION: DO NOT use the Lanchas at the far right side from where the Collectivo Taxi stops- they have a large colour sign with prices showing ..Tour of Mangroves $3,500 total trip and $2,500 direct nonstop to Chacahua total trip. THIS IS RIDICULOUS AND A COMPLETE SCAM!! Walk to the far left and use the "local" lancha Captains. We had no idea and were 3 people to share the cost..$830 per person from these "sharks"! The beach and cabanas: Beautiful- Spectacular!! Stay on the Ocean side as the Lagoon side is less expensive but is run down and swimming is among the lancha boats going back and forth. The Centre square has tiendas and restaurants- Chacahua Wings is very good, the Guacamole served at the place to the right of Wings is amazing, the Barbacoa Burritos are so good across the square from Wings! The centre square is where the Collectivo Camionetta drops off and picks up passengers for El Zapotalito. Go visit Miguel at the restaurant beside Cabanas El Paraiso fir amazing, delicious Enchiladas Verde! We loved our private room with toilet and shower and mosquito nets at Cabanas El Paraiso...right on the ocean beach..with hammocks and bar.

We visited at night for the bioluminescence lagoon, and oh my gosh. It was pure magic. The ride to the lagoon itself was so much fun, zipping around the mangrove canals in the dark, avoiding fishing nets with all kinds of birds and bats flapping over head. And the bioluminescence? Bright, magical, and a one of a kind experience. Definitely a must see and well worth the hour drive from Puerto Escondido.

It's a bit if an adventure getting here but well worth it. To get here from Huatulco you need to take at least 2 buses, a taxi, boat and then a truck it's a fun trip but you're looking at about 5-6 hours of travel (at least). Once you are there you have a boatload of restaurants to choose from, plenty of cabanas to rent and access to beach camp grounds. The natives are incredibly sweet and welcoming. The views are breathtaking and the waves are a surfers delight.

The nature and the birds are beautiful. Go there if that's what you want to experience. There is one very cool bar run by Pedro who's happy to talk to you and serve you his specialty, frozen mescal recipe with milk. I haven't really liked that there seems to be 2 restaurant per outsider/tourists (beginning of March). It gave the place an empty feel.

Puerto Escondido International Airport

International airport
Puerto Escondido International Airport is a small airport with only one gate area, making it easy to navigate. The airport offers quick security checks, free wifi, and electrical outlets for convenience. While the AC may not be great, the airport provides a clean and efficient travel experience. Visitors can enjoy the nearby resort town's clean beaches and various activities such as shopping at the evening market or dining at affordable restaurants. However, travelers should be mindful of their belongings due to the airport's compact size.
Navigating the super small airport is a breeze, offering a stress-free experience for all travelers. Its compact size makes it exceptionally easy to find your way around, saving valuable time and energy. The security process at this airport is remarkably quick and efficient, ensuring a smooth transition to your gate. You can expect to move through the airport with minimal delays, making it ideal for those with tight schedules. Overall, the super small airport provides a pleasant and convenient travel experience.

Waiting for 20 minutes in the hot sun on the tarmac to board. When I asked the security team to wait in the shade I was told NO. While the same security staff was waiting in the shade under the aircraft wing. We have board zones... Why do we force everyone waiting in this heat and jet fuel fumes for so long????
John T — Google review
Worst security experience ever. Incapable of speaking basic English and understanding that a solid is not a liquid. What a joke. To add: speaker announcements are insanely loud (90 dB measured on the Apple Watch) and announcements take place way too often.
Laurens J — Google review
The airport security staff is extremely rude, telling me that my fishing rod which fit into my backpack was not "within regulations". I looked it up online previous to flying here to see whether there were any regulations on fishing equipment, there were none. The staff made up their own rules and made me pay for check in baggage, which costed me 90 USD for a regular backpack. I thought it would end there. I came back to Mexico City and discovered that the rod and reel which they had stopped me to check in, HAD BEEN STOLEN BY THE STAFF! So, not only did I pay 90 USD to check these items in, but they were then stolen during the check in process (the equipment stolen from me is worth about 400 USD). Moral of this story: Do not trust what the security says, they make up their own rules to make extra funds.
Magnus L — Google review
600 people packed into a tiny waiting area with only 60 seats. It was 83* inside and not much if any AC. Looks like they just started a new terminal but that's years away. Shame, because Puerto Escondido is such a cool place. I guess we just have to deal with it.
Jeff S — Google review
This airport SUCKS. 30 mins of free WiFi then they charge you. No AC and the Viva front desk service was 30 minutes late so we were all packed like sardines in this hot airport waiting to check in, then there’s not enough seating so lots of people on the floor. Also their bathroom reeks like warm sewage because there’s no AC. Overall crappy place the least you can do is have free WiFi for everyone suffering here lol
S — Google review
Pro tip: Skip the overpriced airport taxis—walk five minutes past the parking lot and grab an authorized cab for half the price. I’ve flown in and out of this airport for years. It’s tiny, always packed, but slowly improving. New cafés have popped up on both sides of security, which helps. Only two gates, so if you miss your boarding call that’s on you. Delays? Prepare for chaos. The place turns into a sardine can full of wide-eyed tourists who’ve clearly never flown before. Travel etiquette… it goes right out the window. Drop this airport in Oaxaca City and it’s a 2-star mess. But for Puerto, it’s a solid win. If you need more amenities—or better flight deals—grab an ADO bus and fly out of Oaxaca instead.
Lucas S — Google review
The airport is very tiny. There's only one gate area. Apparently about one flight goes out at a time. There was only 1 flight that went out prior to our departure. So you pretty much only have 1 flight of passengers waiting (for your same fight) with you at the gate at a time (if that makes sense). Security check was very quick. There is a very pricey snack store inside. The AC isn't that great. They do offer free wifi & electrical outlets. You will board your plane by stairs. Overall, since the airport was so small it was a quick and very easy experience.

Playa Bacocho is a hidden gem in Puerto Escondido, known for its long stretch of golden sand and as an important turtle-nesting site. Unlike the more popular Instagrammable bays, this beach offers a quiet and uncrowded atmosphere, making it perfect for those seeking relaxation and romance. With only a turtle sanctuary and two exclusive beach clubs, Playa Bacocho is ideal for a day trip.
Releasing the turtles was so fun! We went the day after Christmas so the lines were really longs we waited around 45 mins in lines. The staff were great and gave us a ton of information about the turtles and their organization. The price is now 200 MXN instead of the 100, which is still pretty fair.
Jacob D — Google review
Really beautiful beach, such a great scenery. Gets busy by sunset time, almost empty during midday. No shadow so bring umbrella. Difficult to enter the sea if you are not experienced because of big waves. At 5pm there is the turtle release by the organisation (didn't participate, felt really touristic and not that environmental friendly). Beautiful sunset.
Arriana M — Google review
Nice beach. The waves are quite tall. Not that suitable for swimming. On the plus side there's almost no one. It's a bit further out though.

Playa Bacocho is a beautiful beach located in Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Visitors can enjoy the soft sand, clear waters, and breathtaking sunsets. Additionally, the experience of releasing baby turtles into the sea is emotional and unforgettable, making it a must-do activity for anyone visiting the area.
Sebastian F — Google review
Wow, is all I can say. Such a nice beach. Release the baby turtles, then stay for the sunset! Only downside is that there are no food vendors there and the waves are a bit rough. Must do for all Puerto visitors imo. Bring umbrella as there is no shade. Price for turtle release has increased to 150mx
Errol L — Google review
Great beach to see the baby turtle release, if you want to release them you need to pay 150 pesos. The sun down on this beach has the best views!!!! You need to be very careful to swim. Go at 18:00 +- to enjoy the above.
Jose P — Google review
The beach itself is lovely and sandy but the highlight by far and away is going at 5pm and releasing baby turtles into the sea. You pay 100 pesos per turtle but this goes toward the conservation and is incredibly worth it. Once you release the turtles be on the look out for crabs and gulls as there is nothing more upsetting than seeing your turtle getting pulled into a crab hole or whisked away by a hungry gull!
Max H — Google review

Playa Coral, located near Playa Bachocho in Puerto Escondido, offers a serene escape from the bustling main beaches. The Pacific waves are relatively calm here, making it perfect for swimming and snorkeling. Visitors can explore an abandoned hotel that was left overgrown after a hurricane hit the seafront several years ago. While there are no vendors on the beach, it is known for its cleanliness and peaceful atmosphere during the week.
My favorite beach in the area. Not busy, not crowded, there is natural shade. Waves as in all of the beaches but you can enter the sea carefully. Nice scenery. I walked there through playa Bacocho and didn't have to pay to the hotel. There are umbrellas you can rent (unsure about the price) and vendors pass by with water / beverages/ seafood. Recommended.
Arriana M — Google review
50 peso entry, 80 pesos with a drink. Amazing beach with a 5 minute walk down to the beach, some shady spots to lay in the sand. You have access to the hotel pool as well. Absolutely worth it. Beach has a lot of shells and different colored rocks
Leo L — Google review
This beach is pretty quiet during the week and has many spots in the shade. There are cute dogs running around, playing with the waves. The waves can be strong, don't swim with glasses. To reach the beach directly from the road, you can either pay a $50 fee to go through the hotel or go through a pretty adventurous path on the side. It's fine if you're fit and don't have vertigo
Jadwiga — Google review
Beautiful beach with rough waves, entrance was through Villa Mexicana. $50/person to enter and $100/per person if you want a hamburger included. The ramp leading down to the beach is pretty steep, so anyone with mobility issues might have a problem going down/getting back up from the beach.
Saba B — Google review
To access the beach for free you must walk from Bacocho beach which could be a little dangerous due to slippery rocks formation. Or you can pay 80 pesos to enter through Hotel Villas Mexicana which we did. They give you a voucher for a beer and water or a hamburger, not a bad deal and nice scenery. The Hotel is run down and in need of complete repair. The bathrooms facility by the beach is horrendous. The beach itself is nice but rocky and the water cloudy probably due to the recent Hurricane. Also it has strong undertow and big waves only for experience swimmers.
Javier C — Google review
Super nice beach, fairly calm, palms to get some shade, bar with drinks is available. $50 are due for the entry via the Hotel on the hill. The rundown parts (old slides, buildings etc) give this beach a nice and special touch too.
Joccolin — Google review
You have to pay to get in here through the hotel (we paid $100 for two at 7am one morning), but it was worth it for sure. The old creepy abandoned water park is amazing and the beach was perfect for swimming. There’s some rocks and bits to walk around on the right too, which was nice.
Trevor C — Google review
Would not recommend. You must enter through the Villa Mexicana which is in disrepair and active construction. From there it's a steep descent to get to the beach that is rough. There is very little shade. The beach is not family friendly although it is pretty empty

Playa Carrizalillo in Puerto Escondido is a top choice for travelers seeking sun, surf, and sandy beaches. This beautiful bay is surrounded by palm trees and boasts stunning turquoise waters. It's conveniently located near the town center with its restaurants and shops, making it an ideal base for exploring nearby spots like Playa Angelito and Playa Manzanillo. While it may require a steep trek down steps to reach the beach, the effort is well worth it for this secluded paradise.
The most beautiful beach in all of Puerto Escondido. We enjoyed relaxed swimming in the water and surfing the turquoise waves. This is the perfect spot for beginner surfers. Also a great location for snorkeling— we saw lots of fish and turtles in the water. Highly recommend for any visitors!

You have to walk down around 100 stairs and then back up. Best beach to swim in Puerto Escondido. Food and drinks. You can rent a lounge chair for about $15 US.
Julie V — Google review
Good place to chill, strong waves, but heard that other places you can't even get in the water. Be ready to spend some money for everything, even to throw your trash away. Overall, great place to visit for sure, even getting surf lessons.
Edgar C — Google review
Beautiful place to relax. Good wave action but tame enough for a lot of people to swim in. I think I counted about 160 steps or so from the parking area above, so it's a workout. A little pricey to sit under a palapa. A lot of surfers come here.
Duncan M — Google review
Spending the entire day here felt like a dream. The water was warm, the waves were gentle, and everyone around the beach was respectful. There were plenty of beach chairs to rent and open spots to lay out your blanket. Plus, lots of spots to grab food and drinks if you didn’t bring any. This place is an absolute must-visit in Puerto Escondido. Just watch out for the stairs — going down is “fine”, but the climb back up is definitely a workout!

Playa Manzanillo is a secluded and less developed beach in Puerto Escondido, nestled between Playa Carazillo and Playa Principal. Accessible via stairs or a coastal walk from Playa Principal, this sandy beach offers fine white sand and crystal clear waters for swimming and surfing. The area is family-friendly with shallow waters perfect for kids to play in. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery, rock formations, and shade from trees before noon.
Beautiful beach, but keep in mind it’s only accessible by stairs, so not ideal for those with mobility issues. Go early and on a weekday for the best experience. I went on a Wednesday at 7AM and had the place practically to myself until around noon, when the crowds started rolling in.
Ariel L — Google review
Small pretty bay, but over crowded and with loads of boats mooring. The water wasn't clean because of the boats. No shade unless you want to pay for the sunbeds
Elena * — Google review
This is a beautiful place. I went during the week and it was crowded, but didn’t have issues finding a spot to post up. It’s accessible by taking the stairs down. The only sad thing about this place is that the coral is very close to shore so people have damaged them. I don’t know if it’s also due to warmer water and sunblock, but a lot of the coral is dead. A lot of pieces of it wash up on shore too. If you are a long distance swimmer, or just a swimmer, this is a very popular beach for swim groups early morning around 6:30am.

You have to climb a few stairs to get there but not too many. Good beach to hang out and spent the day. Rent some chairs and chill. Not completely sheltered from the waves but sheltered enough that you can easily swim without getting smashed 😉

Much better than Puerto Angelito in front (full of boats). 200 pesos to consume (a lot of good choice) to get a nice chair. Basic tools on the back of the restaurants. You can swim and relax, we really enjoyed it.
Jose P — Google review
Beach was fine, very steep incline from the shore so watch that if you're not a strong swimmer. The palapas are abusive in what they charge. And sometimes just abusive. We got a bait-and-switch on us with the prices they charge to use their facilities. Left a sour taste. I'll never go back, which is a shame for them as I'm here for much longer. My custom goes elsewhere now.

Almazul is a seafood restaurant located in Puerto Escondido, hidden below the main street in Rinconada. The restaurant offers a unique and exceptional dining experience with high-quality food and fantastic service. The ambiance is inviting, with wooden tables, light-colored woven chairs, and tropical plants creating a chic and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is well thought out, featuring delicious dishes such as pulpo and shrimp risotto, accompanied by fabulous cocktails like hibiscus mezcalitas.
This was the best meal we had in Puerto Escondido! If you're looking for the freshest fish prepared in the best way, look no further. Get the Catch of the Day Sushi plate. Trust me! But leave room for dessert because the Coconut Creme Brulee was insanely good. The space is beautiful and breezy and the staff was so welcoming and kind (including Lugo the dog).

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Manu, Ikki and Loco, (excuse my spelling please) Almazul was without a doubt, one of the most exceptional dining experiences I’ve ever had, not just in Puerto Escondido, but anywhere. From the moment we stepped in, we could feel the love and intention behind every detail. The atmosphere is effortlessly elegant yet relaxed, perfectly mirroring the coastal charm of Oaxaca with a modern and refined touch. Each dish we ate was a masterpiece. Beautifully plated, deeply flavorful, and clearly crafted with some of the freshest local ingredients as confirmed by the lovely Manu. The seafood is incredibly fresh and taken from the fishermen each day. The flavours are both complex yet balanced, risotto and a fish dish was our main, and the banana crumble with wasabi ice cream dessert was simply divine. It has been many years since I can remember being able to shut my eyes whilst eating and feeling every flavour, Chef Ikki has unimaginable talent in the kitchen. The service deserves special mention. Warm, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced. The team take the time to explain each dish and ingredients, adding depth to the experience without ever feeling pretentious. You can feel their pride and crazy talent and skills of chef Ikki in what they do. If you’re in Puerto Escondido, Almazul is an absolute must. It’s more than just dinner it’s an unforgettable evening that engages all the senses. I would give it six stars if I could. It’s worth every peso!! Thank you for such a special and memorable time in both flavour and experience.

A place to relax, enjoy and eat properly. Be prepared to be delighted by the owner/chef delicacies and his wife at the bar preparing interesting cocktails. Nikkei restaurant in a typical open space Mexican palapa and beautiful garden. Since you arrive you feel comfortable because the dim warm light, the nicely selected music, the space between tables, the vibe. Nikkei and fusion, with first quality ingredients and live for the kitchen. Interesting selection of wines also available

Beautiful French restaurant set in gorgeous gardens ( and adjoining the excellent breakfast venue El ToloLote). The food was outstanding - in terms of flavour and taste . The service was fab and it is a must in Puerto. The food , ambience and service far exceeds that of the local Michelin restaurant . It’s a must visit!

WOW. If I could give more than 5 ⭐️ I would. The experience of Alamazul is unique, exceptional & delicious. The venue is a beautiful outdoor garden set under a lovely cabaña style roof with chic decor and a welcoming, but luxe vibe. Then the duo who run it are both beautiful, and you can tell they put their heart into everything they offer. The cocktails were fresh & tasty (we had hibiscus mezcalitas), and the food was stunning in presentation and incredibly flavorful, fresh, and thoughtful. We had the shrimp adventure for starter, sushi platter (was one of the best pieces of sushi I’ve ever eaten), the shrimp rice (sensational) and cheesecake dessert. I think I’ll dream of this food for years to come. The only slight downside was that the restaurant was quite busy, so the drinks and food took a bit of time but the hostess was really gracious and apologetic, offering us a complimentary starter as we waited. To be honest we really didn’t mind and it was definitely worth the wait. If you go, just give yourself plenty of time to not rush and slow down to enjoy a perfect meal cooked with love and shared by this beautiful couple in their space. Can’t recommend it highly enough 🙏✨

Very welcoming and friendly couple…run by an Argentinian chef and his French partner. These very kind people really know what they’re doing. Food presentation was an 11 on a scale of 1-10 and the food was a 12. This octopus was the most tender and flavorful I ever had. Apparently, this is a slow cooked dish that involves 2 hrs of boiling before it gets sautéed and grilled. Highly recommended!

Our favorite spot in Puerto! Super friendly folks crafting some amazing dishes and cocktails with a lot of attention to detail in presentation and flavor. The pulpo zarandeado and arroz de Camaron were the standouts in my book. So good I didn’t stop to take a photo. Love everything about this place!

Oaxaca Grill Rinconada is located on the coast of Oaxaca, known for its stunning beaches and as a popular surfing destination. The restaurant offers amazing burgers with a variety of delicious fillings such as bacon, arrachera, cheese, and grilled onions. Despite some slow service, the flavorful burgers are worth the wait. Visitors praise the friendly staff who are accommodating to special requests like extra avocado or plates of veggies for kids.
Great relaxed "Food Court" arrangement where you place your order and pay first, then you're served at a table by a gracious lady with a smile, under an open sky. Generous portions, reasonably priced, right at the corner of B Juarez + Delfines in Rinconada, Puerto Escondido. Provecho!

This is one of our favorite dinner/grill places in Puerto. Best burgers, tacos with shrimp, guacamole, and beef, vegetarian tacos. My favorites are guacamole plate and French fries.

These burgers are AMAZING!!! I saw the reviews before coming and was a bit skeptical about the burgers being as good as people say, but wow. Yum! One of the best burgers ever. So tasty with the burger, bacon, arrachera, cheese, the grilled onions, and everything else inside the soft tasty buns. Flavor explosion. I can't believe I inhaled the entire thing. Worth it. Service can be a bit slow, but just get some beers and chill because it's worth the wait. 🍔🤤🍔

Overall food was great. The burgers are pretty big and had great taste. The spot is kind of hidden since there are other restaurants close by. Live music after 7pm.

The burgers here are huge for the price, and tasty. I like the food court design, so that you can go with a group of friends, and eat completely different meals if you want. Plaza Chepil has some great options, and for carnivores Oaxaca Grill is the place to be!

Best (and biggest?) burgers in Puerto. The chef and staff are great. We came to this plaza a lot during our two month stay—it was a 10 minute walk from our place and it was reliably good when most of the food in Rinconada was so-so. Our baby girl loved the guys at Oaxaca Grill and they were so nice to her. We would ask for extra avocado on the side and they make her big plates of veggies thin enough for her to eat. Highly recommend.

I've been here three times now. Everything I have eaten has been mind blowing delicious. The burger was seriously the best in my life! French fries were too! Wings amazing! Tony the waiter is friendly and speaks English which is helpful. I'll be back again!! Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Probably the best tacos I've had. I dont usually like tacos but the shrimp, steak and guac was a great mix. The burger was yummy. And especially good if you get the pineapple added into it! The atmosphere was good they usually have music playing. Only thing was there's 2 cats that live at the same property snd sometimes the cats jump up on the seat beside you if you don't really like cats lol

Restaurante Pez Gallo is located on a wooden pier over Playa Bacocho, offering a stunning setting for enjoying margaritas at any time, especially during sunset. It's popular among digital nomads due to its excellent broadband. The beach club offers access to a lovely pool, lounge chairs, and waiter services for a fee that can be offset by ordering food and drinks.
They serve an absolutely amazing food of beautiful taste and presentation. If I were a food tester I would awarded their meals with the Michelin stars…

This is a lovely beach front restaurant to go for breakfast or brunch. They have oatmeal, pan cakes, waffles, avocado toast, smoothies, freshly squeezed juices and more. It’s opens at 8am (the beach club opens at 10am). The sound of the ocean and the vibes add to the experience.

Restaurante El Curandero is a popular seafood eatery in Puerto Escondido, known for its bustling atmosphere and authentic Mexican seafood dishes. The menu features a variety of ceviches, seafood cocktails, grilled and fried fish, and oversized micheladas. Visitors rave about the tiritas de pescado, raw fish marinated in lime and a special brown sauce. The restaurant offers fresh seafood showcased by the owner before cooking.
This is best and freshest seafood we had in Puerto Escondido. Amazing value as well, nice staff and a great atmosphere. The locals eat here and the seafood is extremely fresh. Couldn't recommend the ceviche more.

For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like La Punta Zicatela. A charming market conveniently located off the main highway. The main dining area overlooks the ocean. We enjoyed wandering through the long hallways and buying souvenirs from the friendly vendors. Highly recommend to any visitors!

A decent sized market that is just off the highway. Half of the shops were closed at around 9:30 am on a Wednesday morning, but started to open up while we were there. Plenty of different food options including an amazing juice spot that I would recommend you try (Jugueria y Antojitos Vanessita) Shop selling souvenirs, fruits and vegetables and also restaurants that look out over the ocean

A great market with everything you might need—from bakeries and coffee shops to fruit and veg stalls, health shops, local souvenirs, and beautiful clay ceramics. A lively spot full of character, definitely worth a visit when in Puerto Escondido.

This is a tourist-oriented market with higher-than-typical prices, including at the produce vendors. It’s very well-maintained and includes a pay-to-use bathroom on the far side. The strip of exterior restaurants boasts an ocean view, though you’ll quickly be accosted with menus and busking musicians in that area. There are also some expat-owned businesses, including a sourdough bakery and Argentine restaurant.

Wowwwweeee now this is what I call a beach. So gorgeous! Big big waves but that’s how I like them. Exhilarating to be in there. Lots of surf action going on to get amongst or to watch. And the sunset wow. Can’t beat it.
Macy “ — Google review
Gorgeous setting, the sunsets were spectacular. Some beach clubs leave something to be desired, we tried a few and got varying quality, from amazing food and reasonably clean facilities to contact dermatitis off the sunbeds, even through our towels. Note that this is a dog-friendly beach!
Nadine H — Google review
The beach is nice, but for surfing, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it. The spot is tiny and it’s full of students with local instructors who act like they own the beach and constantly yell at you to give space and even pushing their students right into your line. There’s no proper surfing etiquette like I’m used to at other spots...
Michal L — Google review
Beautiful beach, amazing waves… beautiful sunset. Came to spend some time at punta Zicatela, we loved it. Beach gets very nice waves for surfing, or Swimming if you are not afraid of big waves. Sand gets hot during the day, so if you are not used to it, your feet will burn. Sunsets are beautiful and a lot of people come to watch the sunset at the beach.

Its large beach with a relax atmosphere. Experienced surfers will love it. You have many bars and restaurants nearby Con: the dogs on the beach can something be very annoying (peeing on shoes, trying to grab a drone etc... )

Great beach, giant waves. Watch the surfers and birds. Plenty of food options around. Bring an umbrella if you want to sit closer to the water as it gets pretty hot. Some areas can be dangerous to get in the water, so pay attention to the flags that mark these areas.

Discover the essence of mezcal with Puerto Mezcal Tours in Puerto Escondido, where you can immerse yourself in the captivating history and culture surrounding this beloved Mexican spirit. Led by knowledgeable guides like Arely and Antoine, you'll explore an ancestral distillery while savoring a curated tasting of 10 exquisite mezcals. This engaging experience caters to both seasoned enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
Absolutely incredible experience! My family of 9 all came along and everyone loved it! Antoine was an incredible guide as he started the company himself with his girlfriend so he was super passionate about his tour. We all learned a lot and will absolutely recommend to anyone looking to learn about and taste some great mezcal.
Eric G — Google review
This was a very fun and educational experience, led by Rodolfo and Jasmine. I was already a fan of mezcal prior to this tour, but this experience really illuminated the craft and history of mezcal. It gave me a much better sense of what makes mezcal so special. I learned a ton from the presentation and tour of the facilities. The tasting experience was very fun and interactive. I liked the fact that we also got the chance to try some Oaxacan foods like chapulinas, gusanos, and nanches. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn more about mezcal, or just as a fun excursion within Puerto Escondido.
Daniel P — Google review
This tour surpassed all our expectations! We learned and experienced the entire process of creating mezcal, as well as its history. The tasting itself was wonderful, and it gave us the opportunity to develop our own personal taste for different types of mezcal that we were able to use during the rest of our trip to Puerto Escondido. It's so amazing that we didn't have to make the 6+ hour trek to Oaxaca to have this experience. Thank you, Thomas, Adele, and the entire team. This tour was an unforgettable part of our trip!
Ashley Z — Google review
This tour was awesome! I learned a lot about the history, making, and cultural significance of Mezcal. Our guides, Rodolfo and Tamara made the experience comfortable, fun, and educational! We tasted I think 10? unique mezcals. They all rated a little differently on the strong/smoky/sweet/fruity rating. Our tour with Ruu Piiil - which has been in the same family for generations - offered some tastings of mezcal only available in the area. Mezcal, much like champagne, can only be labeled as such when it is produced in a certain region. We were provided with a rating chart for our own use to help us better distinguish the flavor, discuss the mezcals, and keep track of our favorites. My personal favorite was the Especial! During the tour of the distillery, we were offered the opportunity to use some of the traditional tools to break up the agave plant. We were able to taste the agave/mezcal at different stages in the process which was pretty cool and helped inform the rest of the tasting. Learning the more authentic ways to drink mezcal, the traditional pairings, and the lore behind the common “cheers” special to mezcal has made me excited to pass that knowledge on to my friends and family back home! Our guide Rodolfo was a delight! He was a great teacher and companion for the tour! Very knowledgeable, personable, and easy to talk to. He was able to match our energy and be fun while also staying professional and informative. He was happy to answer our questions and offer his insight on both the mezcal and the area overall. Tamara was friendly, sweet, and made sure we were all comfortable and taken care of. There were fans available - both electric and handheld. She was the one pouring the mezcal and bringing our pairings like the sal de gusano, salt, citrus, nuts, etc. Tamara also made the guacamole for the table which - just as an aside - was absolutely delicious! We were picked up and dropped off at the place we are staying in Puerto Escondido. It was very nice not having to worry about transportation - especially after the tour. My group booked online ahead of time for our friend’s birthday. Their communication following the booking was enthusiastic and consistent which helped us relax and get excited for the tour. All of this made it even easier to have fun and enjoy the experience. A delightful surprise to me was the lack of hangover! Our guide said that because of the purity of the mezcal and its distillation, our bodies are able to process the alcohol in it more easily than in other drinks. I was skeptical at first but still felt great the next day! I am new to drinking mezcal and this tour was perfect for me. I absolutely recommend the experience!
Anne K — Google review
Antoine is a natural teacher who really connects with his students 😉. I appreciated being able to walk through the process of creating the mezcal. And then Antoine nicely presented each of the variety of mezcals providing insights on what distinguished each version.
David C — Google review
We had an incredible time with both Antoine and Marian on this mezcal tour. It was very educational and great to see each step of the process in real life! All of the mezcal were so interesting and I really enjoyed rating and discussing them. The entire tour from pickup to drop off was also very smooth and we didn’t have any issues. Thank you for one of the best highlights of our trip!
Ashley E — Google review
An incredible experience that I would recommend to anyone traveling to Puerto Escondido! Our guide, Adèle, was wonderful - very knowledgeable and provided an in depth understanding of the history of Mezcal. Witnessing a multi-generational mezcal production in person provided a fulfilling education that I’ll never forget. It gave me a whole new understanding and appreciation of Mezcal! Thank you to Tomas and his family for hosting us at RuuPiiil!

I Started sober and ended up drunk ! So … can’t recommend enough!!! Thanks for this amazing experience !!!

Our family of three had an amazing time and learned so much about Mezcal (our 20 year old son really appreciated being able to participate!). We highly recommend this tour if you're in or near Puerto! Antoine did an excellent job teaching about Mezcal with great visuals and enthusiasm! He walks you through the process and then finishes the tour with a tasting of 10 types of Mezcals. I wasn’t a fan of Mezcal before the tour and left with a new taste and appreciation for it!
Christina C — Google review
this was a highlight of our trip to Huatulco, and we highly recommend it to anyone in area looking for a fun, informative and delicious activity to do. unless you do a lot of research before getting to Huatulco.... there aren't any Mezcal distilleries within a couple of hrs. drive to visit. a lot of tastings but no where to actually see and experience the making of mezcal ( unless you want to drive 6 hrs. +) Antoine was a perfect blend of enthusiasm, knowledge, humor and turned out to be the secret weapon. as you can see from all the 5 star reviews, this is a must do. affordable, entertaining and flexible.... a vacationers dream! I dare you to go on the tour and NOT buy a bottle afterwards!

Mirador Las Tortugas is a small outcrop offering stunning views of the ocean and Puerto Escondido's coastline, making it the top scenic spot in the area. It's a perfect place to capture dramatic photos and enjoy beautiful sunsets. Although there are no set paths or stairs, reaching the mirador is relatively easy. Visitors are advised to arrive early to secure a good spot and be prepared for a slightly steep sandy climb.
Great sunset spot but also worth visiting in the day as no one else seems to go there apart from sunset - we had it all to ourselves. Is a bit tricky getting up and down but all part of the fun!

Not much access I saw to get to beach. The climb down I was a little worried with a baby but we did it. It was a nice time sit with family for a little bit. It is beautiful 😍. I would just be careful with kids . A lot of places to drop or fall.

Lovely place to watch the sunset. Calm during the day, pretty crowded at sunset time but you can walk a bit further (be careful, it is sandy and slippery) to enjoy it “on your own”.

A beautiful sunset place. Come a little early to enjiy the scenery and make pick the best spot. It is a bit of a steep sandy climb, so best to consider your shoes (might need to take off those sandals!). A close walk from the street otherwise.

I’d have to consider this to be the top scenic spot in Puerto Escondido. If you’re trying to find the best place for a dramatic pic, this is the spot. I’ve stopped by a couple times and it also tends to be very quiet without anyone else around. There are not stairs or a set path, but getting back and forth is quite easy - it’s not nearly as intimidating as it first appears.

Almoraduz Cocina de Autor is a small yet casual restaurant in Puerto Escondido, known for its fine dining experience. The husband and wife chef team behind this hidden gem offers both degustation and a la carte options with a focus on light dishes. The menu features unique offerings like smoked grilled oysters and beef ravioli with black truffle and cheese sauce. Guests are treated to an exceptional dining experience, from the cocktails and wine selection to the impeccable service.
I really recommend sharing because all the dishes are big and also to try more of the Mexican/Oaxaca’s cuisine. Mixology was good but everything had mezcal and there was no other option (not a big fan tho). Food was very good, we shared lots of dishes, our table was a party of 9. Our table was not comfortable for so many people because it was too long and too wide so we couldn’t hear what others were saying. When we got to the place it was empty and we asked for a table change but they couldn’t set another table for us (although the place was not full) I guess they are not that flexible.
Marissa B — Google review
I was very surprised to learn this is a Michelin starred restaurant . The food, ambience and service is at best average . The restaurant is exactly like every other restaurant in the strip with dark oak tables . There is no particular ambience and nothing which distinguishes it, inside . The waitresses are dressed well in blue trouser suits . They are friendly and can speak English but the waitress who served me was somewhat strange . See my comments below. To start with I was furnished with an amous bouche which was delicious ( a watery pea soup). I was then provided with traditional local fayre of tortilla crackers and 3 dips . This is served in every restaurant . What was odd and off about the service however, is that despite the fact I was eating the Tortilla and holding it , she took my plate away stating my main course was ready. This was not only impolite but also surprising because I had only ordered 10 minutes previously . At every other restaurant visited in Puerto , the food was freshly prepared , hot and there was always a good delay between ordering and eating . I would say around 20-25 minutes . Here it was less than 10 minutes ,from the moment I ordered. The pork was cold , uninspiring but edible . The sweet potato mash was cold . The best most flavoursome item on the plate was the cucumber salad. There is a good wine menu but again they filled the glass with less than a quarter of it, if ordering by the glass. It was also expensive at 310 per glass. At any restaurant , one wants to savour the food and enjoy the experience . At a Michelin starred , you would expect this even more. At this restaurant , I was out within 40 mins . All in all a disappointing and uninspiring experience . Given the cost ( 1200 peso) , I would have expected a more enjoyable experience in terms of food and ambience . I am really not surprised that in peak season only 3 tables were occupied.
Minnie L — Google review
Very disappointing for a michelin experience. Our group was very excited to try a tasting menu from a Michelin star rated restaurant while here. We were disappointed by every aspect of our visit. First, the reservation forced you to pay up front, and add a gratuity before even going to the restaurant. When we got there, the staff was pretty friendly in seating us, but never brought waters or even asked for drink orders. We had to ask to see a drink menu and asked for water. We were going to order wine, but even the local wine was nearly $100 USD per bottle. The drinks were very slow to come and the water did not, we had to ask again. I also had to ask to have the water filled 3 times. There was a cleansing ceremony where they burned resin and surrounded each person in smoke, but didn't give a warning or option. This was fine, but I could see it potentially being an issue. We didn't see the menu when reserving, but it was mexican street food. While the plating was nice, there was nothing exceptional about any of the flavors. And street food being typically extremely cheap, this was kind of disappointing. We actually expected more seafood being in puerto escondito. Our friends from Mexico City didn't think the dishes were better than actual street food short of the eggplant taco, and I would agree. They also had to translate for us as the waiters explained everything pretty quickly in spanish. Even though they asked if we wanted english at the start. Our one guest had ordered a beer, and he was asked if he wanted something else and said not at that time. They never asked anyone else again if they wanted a drink. For a place that required a tip up front, and is has a Michelin star, the service was the most disappointing part. We also asked for more tortillas with the salsa. They stopped preparing dishes until these were finished. For the food, I also thought the shrimp was overcooked as it was rubbery, the crab didn't taste super fresh as it was fishy, and 2 of the dishes were basically just corn, i.e. the street corn and the corn desert. The desert itself was somewhat inventive as it was also corn ice cream, but it didn't actually taste great. There were also people smoking directly outside the restaurant ,and as it was quite hot, they had fans blowing the smoke right towards our table.

This spot came highly recommended by our Airbnb host in Oaxaca and honestly, he was right by saying that Every bite is an experience. RISOTTO NEGRO – Hands down the star of the night. Rich, smoky huitlacoche paired with tender, perfectly seasoned squid. The texture? Silky, creamy perfection. PESCA DEL DÍA – Incredibly fresh and surprisingly filling. The seasoning was unlike anything I’ve had before—bright, unexpected, and absolutely delicious. ENCHILADAS RELLENAS DE PATO CONFITADO – That mole? Divine. Rich and complex. The duck did take a backseat though. HIBISCUS CHAI – Just what we needed for the heat. The pairing of hibiscus and guava was genius. Service? Impeccable. Prices? More than fair. Would I go back? In a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

A wonderful experience from start to finish. For me, this is the perfect fine dining atmosphere - the menu was thoughtful and creative, the service attentive but not overbearing, and the food and drinks were delicious. Highly recommend the tomato salad, the curried carrots, and the opera cake. The portions are a little larger than most similar restaurants, so we left very full! Our waitress was excellent, friendly and kind even though we only spoke English. Id come back to Puerto just to eat here.
Melissa L — Google review
We got appetizers, main course, dessert, and drinks, every single thing we tasted was out of this world amazing! Dreaming about the food here every day, it was so interesting the combinations they would use for certain dishes, but yet they were insanely good!

What an amazing meal! Best meal on this trip to Mexico. This place did a fusion on some Asian and Mexican flavours and they did it just right. The mole were deep and rich. Each dish was beautifully plated (see pictures)! The contrast of a cold soup to the different levels of spicy was a beautiful symphony in our mouths. Highly recommend and will definitely come back if I ever go back to Puerto Escondido.

The tasting menu is absolutely amazing. It's very easily worth the money for the quality & presentation. Numerous delicious dishes that each blend together flavors to make some really spectacular flavors. The cocktails are all high quality with an infusion of complementing flavors. The service is top notch with an explanation of all the different dishes and the origins of the ingredients. If you are in PE I would highly recommend trying it out. Best meal I've had in Mexico and rivals a lot of the best American resturants.

Seafood restaurant
Restaurant El Nene is a popular Mexican eatery known for its tasty cocktails and authentic local cuisine. The menu features delectable options such as tacos, seafood tostadas, and filet mignon. The ambiance exudes a laid-back surfista vibe, complemented by friendly staff and a charming atmosphere. While the homemade tortilla chips could be improved, the overall dining experience is top-notch with quick service and an extensive drink selection including passion fruit and lemon margaritas.
Best place in Puerto Escondido. The food was fantastic and the service even better! Surf and Turf and the Dorado were really good. Great drinks!! Gin-Ger drink one of the best! Thank to the service team.., you rock!

Great atmosphere. Food a little bland for my taste and staff rushing to get us out taking dishes before we finished etc. Would have stayed for pudding but … Tuna on the specials was excellent. My husband says it’s the best he’s ever had!

Really nice place and I think one of the best rated places in this town. They had really good service and the food was served quick. The food and drinks were very good. It's definitely a must try.

I've visited El Nene twice during my stay in Puerto Escondido and both of these times the experience was lovely. The food is delicious and the service is exceptional. Thank you!

Good food. I personally wouldn’t get the sauce on the surface and turf, I feel like the sauce ruined the steak in my opinion. Overall good though. Make sure to ask for hot sauce on the side, really spicy!

Truly worth trying fish of a day. We tried tuna, and cod. They were delicious, fresh, and served fast. Recommend to visit

Great restaurant with very friendly staff and an amazing selection of food! My friends and I had a great time frequenting El Nene, the staff treated us with the kindness and generosity of old friends. Specifically, Andres and Francisco provided us with excellent service and gave us travel tips for Puerto. The restaurant offers a delicious selection of dips to pair with chips that they serve with every meal. The octopus tacos are excellent. El Nene is great for a casual drink with friends or a special occasion. The servers sing to customers celebrating their birthday. The restaurant is a necessary destination for tourists coming to Puerto, it definitely enhanced my two-week stay.

We came here twice during our stay, and both times were excellent! There's a good selection of pizza, pasta, and some other dishes. The drinks menu has some different cocktails on, which is very nice to see - not just your usual fare. Only downside is they forgot to bring one of our drinks, but it wasn't on the bill either.
Leo S — Google review
We came here because we fancied a pizza, and the reviews generally indicated good quality. Here is an honest overview of what to expect. Firstly, we had to queue to get in, then once sat it took well over an hour to get any food, and it really wasn’t very busy. Looking at the kitchen, there isn’t any visible cohesive stations and there is a lot of standing around. It didn’t seem like there was much multitasking, which is strange for a place that primarily cooks two things, pizzas and pasta. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Drinks were also incredibly slow, and the cocktails are pre-mix out of a jug. It took me about 20 mins to get a corona I ordered. The pizza is okay, the dough is actually quite decent with a solid prove, and cooked in a brick oven at a good temperature giving it a nice crispy bottom. The issue with the pizza is the cheese, which is cheap, dehydrated mozzarella, and tastes like string cheese. It really lets it down, and has an odd, artificial flavour and plasticky texture. The pasta was okay. We had spaghetti bolognaise and we enjoyed it. It has a nostalgic flavour, reminding me of a cafe or school, but it was undeniably tasty. The Parmesan is the synthetic powder type which probably adds to making it taste like school. The spaghetti was certainly overcooked, but generally we actually quite enjoyed it, the sauce was flavourful and it scratched an itch. Overall, we waited a long time for everything, and the food was okay. But it’s actually okay value as the prices aren’t too high. If it wasn’t for the crazy slow service it would likely be 2 stars.

Lovely pizza and cocktail restaurant with a chilled, welcoming vibe. We had the Neapolitana and Spinach Ricotta pizzas—both super tasty. The passion fruit mocktail was amazing. Warm, friendly service made it an even better experience.

Amazing pizza and tiramisu. Vegetarian friendly. Very friendly staff. The house special cocktails are must try.

Great place - went to dine in once and the food was amazing. I went back a second day and order to go and watched the sunset while eating my pizza - recommended!

Avoid this place. I ate here with a friend this week. Service: Our server was an aloof young woman who approached our table with a dismissive attitude. she forgot my order for water and i had to remind her. She brought our appetizer AFTER she brought our main courses. She then essentially ignored us for the rest of our meal. she didn’t ask if we wanted dessert and had to be told twice to bring the bill. she ruined my experience at this place. Food: we ordered BBQ wings which had an overly thick sauce. Very unappetizing. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, and was served a plate of spaghetti noodles with alfredo sauce and bacon bits. in other words, it was not at all spaghetti carbonara. my friend’s burger was good, i think. Atmosphere: the space is cute, but they kept allowing stray dogs from outside to wander the restaurant and beg for food from customers. That is beyond disgusting. Update: i am updating my review after reading the the owner’s response. the condescending tone and dismissive attitude is exactly in line with the overall unwelcome persona and ambience of this place. The snide response from the owner that i should have read the description of their non-spaghetti carbonara ignores the fact that real spaghetti carbonara does not have any cream in it! They should call the dish something else, but it is definitely NOT spaghetti carbonara. The owner then proceeds to say that dogs are more educated than people??! What?! Beyond hilarious. And then he also proceeds to tell me that the restaurant is “pet friendly” and I should vacation in places without animals since his staff allows stray dogs to beg for food. Again…um, what??! If you’re “pet friendly” fine, but if you also allow stray dogs to beg for food, you should add that your restaurant is “stray dogs that beg for food friendly.” The owner’s habit of responding to every negative review with defensive quips and insulting “advice” just exemplifies how bad the management of this establishment is. If you are an owner of a restaurant and cannot graciously accept criticism from customers, and instead feel the need to get defensive AND insult them, then you should not be in the restaurant business.
Cameron S — Google review
The food was okay, nothing special but decent. What really ruined the experience was the music situation. There was a live band playing next door — and they were great! Unfortunately, the owner decided to keep their own music blasting at the same time. Instead of enjoying the live performance, all the guests were forced to endure two competing soundtracks. It was unbearable and made it hard to stay. Even after pointing this out to the staff, nothing changed. They seemed either unwilling or unable to handle the situation — ignorant, maybe just incapable, but in any case very disappointing. Such a pity, because with a bit more awareness, the atmosphere could have been so much better.

After a terrible dinner at Punta Madre, we walked over to Mundaka and it was like night and day. At Punta Madre we had soggy fries, bland tacos, and rude service. At Mundaka, the pizza came out hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Where Punta Madre blasted music so loud we couldn’t hear each other, Mundaka had a relaxed vibe that made it easy to talk. Where Punta Madre took forever to bring out bad food, Mundaka’s service was fast and friendly. Honestly, the contrast made Mundaka feel even better. After the mess of Punta Madre, enjoying great pizza with good service felt like a total win.

On my quest for the ultimate fish tacos, I stumbled upon Pinches Tacos, a charming eatery that specializes in Sonoran-style tacos from northern Mexico. While it may not have topped my list, it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The laid-back atmosphere features alfresco dining with sandy floors and a salsa bar where you can customize your toppings to your heart's content. The garlic grilled tacos were particularly delightful, leaving me craving more!
Best Tacos on the strip! We got great service from one of the gals there! Their salsa is on the side along with their other toppings so you can grab how ever much you want! Which is the traditional way to do it. The garlic grilled tacos were undeniably tasty. Had me wanting more!
Adriana C — Google review
Great LOW KEY spot; alfresco dining, sandy floors, with a salsa bar. Cameron (shrimp) & arranchera (skirt steak) tacos were great & their margaritas were spot on. Don't expect much & think SIMPLE!
Jim S — Google review
I hardly write bad reviews but these were not the best tacos I’ve eaten in Mexico. The steak tacos in particular. From the appearance of the meat (not grilled) to the bland taste, nothing was good about the steak taco here. On the bright side, the service was great and the offer an extensive salsa bar.
BLS — Google review
We were excited to go here from the reviews but sadly had a bad experience. We had to wait an hour for tacos without any explanation. While the food is apparently fresh it still doesnt take an hour to cook up a few tacos. The salsa bowls were also completely empty as well which could have easily been filled up while we were waiting but the staff were all sitting inside chatting. Maybe we got unlucky as the food did taste ok when it finally came but the experience was very poor.

This was the place closest to where I was staying so I'd looked it up before arriving. I walked by it twice using Google Maps. The landscaping needs to be done on the bushes. When sitting inside the space was dark because if overgrowth. Notice the low lighting in the taco picture. I went 23 Dec. I gave a slightly better than average review because the cashier helped me when they could not make change. It took over a half hour to provide shrimp tacos and about half of them were O's instead of C's. The tortillas were think and had no flavor. There was no signage for the salsas and toppings bar. No cabbage, cheese, or creama, did have lechuga and I saw seeded cucumbers but they looked unappealing and bigger than the shrimp.

One of the very best tacos we ever had! Ambiance is great, vibe is good! You can add your own toppings for your taco. Really nice! But the best thing we had here were the chimichangas! To die for!!!

Probably the best meal we've had in the past 7 days - unique take on standard dishes, artfully prepared and most importantly delicious! Surprisingly we were the only folks there from 5:00 till we left at 7:30.

I only had a salad tonight, but it was awesome. The portion was abundant, didn't need anything else. Great presentation as well. Neat building and small art gallery at relative good prices.

Showed up right at opening so we were the only ones there. The staff were quick to serve us and friendly. Didn’t speak the best English, but we don’t speak great Spanish either and they were very patient with us. The atmosphere was really neat! Very comfortable and clean. We ordered margaritas (fantastic), the potato wedges (a little under done, not crispy), fish tacos and sashimi. Fish tacos came with pickled cabbage and extra sauce on the side and the sashimi was sliced super thin but came with sliced avocado which we ended up putting on our tacos. Overall very good and would recommend!

Really nice Restaurant. The food is exquisite and very well presented. We especially liked the spicy-marinated shrimps with roasted peanuts and watermelon. The waiter was very attentive and friendly, also we felt that our child was very welcome as he brought a game for her to play with.

This place is special… the server Nacho is outstanding, gave us a whole Mezcal tutorial tasting… above and beyond kindness and mindfulness service that is rare in Mexico! Awesome happy hour special, sashimi/cerveza… is irresistible!
