Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk

Nature preserve
The Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk is a thrilling treetop walk that takes you through the lush rainforest canopy of Mount Tamborine. This 1.5km adventure includes about 300m of steel bridges and a 40m-long cantilever that soars 30m above the creek below, offering a unique perspective on the forest and its inhabitants.
A wonderful walk in the rainforest seeing the rich fauna and wildlife. An easy walk that offers stunning views but also great educational opportunities for the family and students of nature. The reception team were friendly and even on a Sunday afternoon there was good parking. Overall good value and a joy to see how the money spent is well invested in protecting nature. Enjoy the walk…

Walking through a rain forest was a great experience. The signage was good. Some of the ground walk was uneven, so wear suitable walking shoes. Saw one water dragon, heard lots of birds but didn't see any. There was another visitor who was playing a flute while he was walking around, sounded great and fitted into the environment. Staff were friendly and helpful. Walk takes about 40 mins at a nice leisurely pace.
J N — Google review
Took visiting tourists on a lovely outing. A couple who arrived before us was visibly distressed by the movement of the promontory point. It's not enjoyable for people easily distressed by heights or swaying caused by simple foot falls. We didn't spot any wildlife aside from a few water dragons and common birds but the trail is so interesting as it weaves through the layers of the canopy I think it's worth it. We only saw one or two orchids in bloom too so it's probably better when it's not early spring.
Kathryn K — Google review
This place is fantastic ❤️ A small entry fee is totally worth the views to walk along the treetops. Great views all the way to the creek. Totally worth the stop
Monica M — Google review
We loved the skywalk and we appreciate the care that has gone into making it a safe and educational experience. We learned a lot about the rainforests in southern Queensland and saw some amazing landscapes. The butterfly observation point was not as prolific in the spring as it was last summer, but still caught a glimpse of a few birdwings. It's definitely a place you want to check out if you're visiting Tambourine.
Craig C — Google review
What an unforgettable adventure at Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk! My partner and I visited this stunning eco-attraction on a crisp spring morning, and from the moment we arrived at the beautifully maintained entrance in Tamborine Mountain National Park, we were blown away. The 1.5 km elevated walkway meanders through the lush canopy of ancient rainforest, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Gold Coast hinterland, cascading waterfalls, and the distant Pacific Ocean on clear days. We spotted vibrant birdlife—like rainbow lorikeets and whipbirds—fluttering just meters away, and the informative plaques along the path educated us on the unique subtropical flora, including towering strangler figs and rare orchids. The highlight was the 40-meter-high cantilever bridge that sways gently over Cedar Creek, giving a thrilling yet safe adrenaline rush without disturbing the ecosystem below. The entire experience is wheelchair and pram-accessible with smooth boardwalks, and the knowledgeable guides at the start provided fascinating insights into the Gondwana rainforest's 100-million-year history. it's incredible value for a 45-60 minute self-guided walk that feels like stepping into a Jurassic paradise. The on-site café serves delicious local coffee and scones with views of the valley, and the gift shop has eco-friendly souvenirs. Clean facilities, ample parking, and zero crowds mid-week made it perfect. Tamborine Rainforest Skywalk is a must-do for nature lovers, families, or anyone seeking serene beauty in Queensland—highly recommend! Very nice place, we love it. We'll be back soon.
Stan — Google review
The skywalk was very good. It was well kept and a lovely walk through the rain forest at different heights and outlooks. The walk was easy and at a leisurely pace it was probably less than an hour. There's a nice gift shop and cafe. Staff were lovely and helpful.

Short Nature Trail and Skywalk that is privately owned. Good for beginners and those who want to experience walking high up along the top of the trees. Trail should not take more than an hour including all the stops at lookouts and photo taking moments.

Thunderbird Park is a sprawling 112-hectare tourist destination that offers a variety of activities set in a picturesque natural environment. Visitors can enjoy fossicking for gem-filled thunder eggs, embark on the Tree Top Challenge - Australia's longest and highest adventure ropes course, go horse trail riding, bushwalking, or engage in laser skirmish in an authentic rainforest battlefield. The park also provides accommodation options such as caravans, camping, and bunkhouses.
We just spent a lovely family long weekend here. I highly recommend for all the different activity options. We played mini golf, played with the mini diggers at dig it and fossicked for thundereggs. My 11yo girl and 13 yo boy loved every minute. Free wood and kindling for use in the firepit at our room and free family movie night were lovely touches. Most importantly for a young coeliac, they had Gluten-free options and separate fryer! 🎉 Can't forget to mention ALL the lovely, friendly staff, we did not have a lukewarm interaction with anyone. With special mention going to the lovely Kim who was warm, friendly and welcoming. So many more things to do, we're going to have to come back to do the other activities!
Roselyn B — Google review
Fossicking was a great activity for the kids - very dusty and hot in the sun (make sure you take a hat and bottle of water). A suggestion - it would be nice if a few staff were up in the dig site to help kids identify areas to dig or rocks that 'might' be worth taking down to be cut. Whilst some parts of the park are looking a little tired it was still a fun day out overall.
Sawyer S — Google review
Kids had an absolute ball at the high ropes course. Was a little disappointed that there was no public seating/BBQ areas to have a picnic lunch while waiting. I understand that there is a cafe for people to enjoy but when the cost of the activities is quite high we wanted to do our own lunch. Thankfully there was a grassy patch of grass and we took some gas BBQs of our own. A really relaxed enjoyable afternoon.
Danielles O — Google review
Overall the park is great! Beautiful and very peaceful. We went for a work conference here and did the high ropes course, this was very challenging and exciting. The rooms were lovely, just a bit older. The service from the restaurant staff was the only thing I could say needs improvement, it's quite slow and staff are not very friendly, felt like a burden asking for a coffee, which also took very long. Regardless this won't deter me from going again to do the activities or stay.
Elke B — Google review
An amazing park for the family. Not overcrowded and plenty of activities to do. Unfortunately we found all the activities to be quite overpriced though. Bird feeding is NOT what it’s made out to be in pics or by influencers. The young staff at the Jnr Treetops were all very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend spending the day there (with pockets full).
Fleury — Google review
We did the Tree Top challenge here and had a blast. For us, Lily made the experience. She kept us engaged from when she was instructing us on safety, to encouraging us as we attempted their difficult rope challenges. She was so confident and personable that we were feeling like friends, and were surprised to hear that she had only been there for less than a year. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Stayed a couple of nights in Frog Lodge as part of a wedding group — peaceful, scenic, and beautifully designed up on the hillside near the pickleball court. Staff were lovely and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was next level! After many average hotel buffets over the years, this one really stood out — fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. Thank you for an awesome experience!

We went camping and it was really nice , there's a creek to swim but it's not a huge waterhole so may get packed with two families there. Amenities were really nice and close to cam site, very shady. Mini golf was good and was a nice location

A must stop on Tambourine!! The gardens are absolutely gorgeous, even when we went in winter. Flowers were blooming, everything was green and lush!! Each themed area in the park was fabulous and kids areas were really maintained. Put this on your list!!

Scenic spot
Hang Glider Launch and Lookout, situated along the Main Western Road in Tamborine Mountain, is a popular spot offering uninterrupted views and serving as a launch site for energetic hang gliders. Visitors can enjoy picnics while watching the festivities or witness an amazing sunset from the plateau. The lookout provides a serene atmosphere with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding scenery, making it perfect for nature enthusiasts and hang glider enthusiasts alike.
Being a picnic and a blanket and jumper and sit at one of the most beautiful spots for a sunset! It’s stunning seen proposals to artist in their element to families with dog and the takeaway pizza boxes to girl dinner. Beautiful spot.

Pulled up not expecting much on a Sunday but I was pleasantly surprised by the location and North Tamborine as a whole. The location was packed and we arrived whilst a large contingent of paragliders were launching. The view was hazy due to the fires at springbrook but I will definitely be paying another visit to the area.
Carlos N — Google review
We were incredibly lucky to witness the most breathtaking sunset ,a true masterpiece of nature. The sky was full of amazing colours. It was a perfect moment
Mahesh G — Google review
Not a hang glider in sight, but still a top spot. The view is absolutely cooked - in the best way. You can see for miles. Great place to pretend you’ve got your life together while taking deep, reflective breaths and ignoring your unread emails. Bit windy though, so if you’ve got a fringe, it’s now gone. Bring a jacket unless you enjoy being personally attacked by the breeze. No shops, no toilets, just vibes, nature, and your thoughts slowly getting louder. Perfect spot for a sneaky picnic, a deep convo, or just sitting there like a majestic mountain goat staring into the abyss. 5 stars for the view, minus 1 for the lack of snacks… but I gave it back because the sky looked pretty. Would recommend if you like peace, quiet, and pretending you’re in a tourism ad🤭😂

We had missed the hang gliders as they were packing up when we got there. It would have been lovely to see them take off. Scenery was very picturesque.

Nestled in a lush rainforest, Songbirds Rainforest Retreat offers modern villas with charming verandahs. The resort boasts a gourmet restaurant where guests can indulge in an innovative menu crafted by the Michelin-starred executive chef, Meyjitte Boughenout. Using hand-picked ingredients from their garden and local suppliers, the restaurant provides a unique dining experience.
Stayed up at Songbirds for a friday getaway and unwind. Cabin 6 is amazing, tucked up on the hill. Large comfy bed, great gas fireplace, private and large spa and shower. The extra touches of candles ect really set the atmosphere. coffee on the balcony listening to the whip birds was a relaxing start to the day with zero noise other then rustling of leaves The hot plate of mixed chicken grill was great as a relaxed dinner and an easy wander down from the rooms!! Thanks Deb and Team
Craig N — Google review
We had a really enjoyable stay at Songbirds. The fireplace was lovely and it was so nice to see the light coming through the trees in the morning. It’s very comfortable, and while it’s pretty low key (not super luxurious), we couldn’t have asked for anything more. Having the heater on when we arrived was a really nice touch and service was friendly. The outdoor furniture was too dusty and dirty to use (due to being truly immersed in nature), however we didn’t need to, but it’s worth noting if that’s your plans - you’d need to wipe it down. There’s also plenty of seating options in the room.
Jessie D — Google review
Rooms are nice and spacious, clean and comfortable. Host was lovely, easy going. The grounds and restaurant (closed entirely) are quite run down at the moment, though some of that would be thanks to the horrendous weather they've had this year. Wonder if there are any plans to revamp it as we will likely choose somewhere else next time.
Rosie C — Google review
Appalling. We went to stay here recently and the the mould smell was horrendous as soon as we walked into the villa. We had to drop our stuff off and rush off to a dinner booking. During this time I had to phone around at 7.30pm at night to find somewhere else to stay. I had to keep going out for air when I went to pick our stuff up from the cabin. Payed $350 for one night and couldn't even sleep in the place. Owners are refusing to refund as well. I tried to see if the owner could find another cabin that night but he never got back to us. The place hasnt been cleaned properly in years.
Laurie H — Google review
Absolutely stunning. Booked on a whim, the last room. The staff are exceptional and the cabins are really comfortable. We went in the rain which made the stay even more magic. The only regret is we didn't explore the huge property. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was amazing. From all the previous bad reviews I had mixed feelings and went with no expectations but this is by the far, the best rainforest cabin I have stayed in across Mount Tamborine. I should of stayed 2 nights. It would be a fantastic place if you need to recharge
Donna F — Google review
Our second stay at Songbirds, always tranquillity and the real rainforest experience, Debbie at reception was very knowledgeable about Songbirds and very helpful re letting us know about the mountain, what a asset employee, she spent the time to make our stay lovely, Thanks Debbie 😊 😀 👍
Susan K — Google review
There is a steep narrow road with many pot holes. Bathroom very unclean. Kitchen no cooking facilities and very limited cutlery. Bathroom has floor to ceiling tiles is very unfriendly with freezing cold floor and no bath mats. No cushions on hard lounge, could make the place more comfy and welcoming. Quite a walk from the villa to the alpacas, have a young child but wasn’t informed about feeding them so missed this opportunity, restaurant was closed which we didn’t know when booking. No wifi or internet tv. Positive is the spa bath but overall it was overpriced for what it is.
Bel W — Google review
The Villa was great with spa on balcony. The food was sensational. But the staff really set Songbirds apart from the rest. Amazing service, so helpful. So accommodating. Chef Deb and Manager Deb were genuinely caring people that made our wedding reception and stay something so special it could not have been any better. Thank you so much from the Wilson's ❤️🙏🏻

The Monkey Tree Bar & Restaurant is a family-friendly dining spot with an extensive kids menu. The attentive staff ensures a warm welcome all year round. Located at 106 Long Road, it's a great find for those looking to relax on the deck or groove to the vibrant atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a variety of dishes made with passion, including avo on sourdough and a unique veggie burger served on bright green (spinach) buns.
This place is incredible!! The venue is beautiful, so much outside seating. The staff were all so friendly and the coffee and food was delicious! Best breakfast we have had out in a long time. Thank you
Dean S — Google review
If you are looking for a friendly and helpful staff, don't dine here. The bartender was outright rude and obviously does not like working here the way he talks to customers. My husband asked where he could order but he answered abruptly and even drilled my husband what is our table number, that he cannot order without knowing the table number. There are ways to let customers know what they need without making them feel like they are being harassed and make them feel stupid for not knowing what the table number was. Even the waitresses aren't helpful. We ask about where to sit and the menu but we are just answered impatiently literally to find our way to what we need. We waited for nearly 40 minutes for our food to be served. Thankfully the young waitress who served our food was nice and friendly. The food made up for the lack of good service. Our meal was warm, crisp and delicious. The price though is ridiculously expensive. For just a small serving of a typical bacon and egg roll, it costs $15. The restaurant setup was homily and depicts nature harmony. But will we go back there again? No.

Great coffee, deliciously creamy too. Even my almond milk. The service was warm and helpful even finding us the coolest seats on a warm spring afternoon. Looking forward to eating here in the future 😋

We ate here Saturday afternoon and it was lovely. The food was delicious and the service was friendly. We had tried to call during the week to make a reservation and only got a recorded message but, when we arrived (all 11 of us) we were able to be seated comfortably. The food is a little on the expensive side but isn’t everything lately?! Some menu items were well worth it, some not so much. In saying that we didn’t order anything we thought was “not so much” and it could well be phenomenal, everyone has their own opinions. We were impressed with what we were served.
Kellyanne S — Google review
I wanted to share some feedback on our recent visit. Let me start by saying that the food was great, and the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. However, we were disappointed with how the kitchen/management handled our experience. We dined at your café with two kids and ordered two kids’ meals along with other main dishes. The food was delicious—especially the Salmon Tuscan, which was fantastic. When we ordered soup and it was sold out, the waitress promptly informed us and suggested alternatives, which we appreciated. The service at that point was excellent. However, during our meal, we noticed that one of the kids’ meals—lasagna—was still missing. We understood that lasagna might take longer, so we waited. But when the rest of our table had already eaten about 70% of their meals and it still hadn’t arrived, we asked a waiter to check. He assured us it would be ready soon, so we waited. For those who have kids, they would understand that waiting this long for a child’s meal is extremely difficult. We had to start sharing our food with them. When most of our meals were nearly finished (around 90%), we asked the waitress again. She quickly apologized, said the kitchen was preparing it, and kindly offered us a free hot coffee. Unfortunately, by the time the hot coffee became lukewarm —the lasagna was still not ready. At this point, our table was empty, and we were just sitting there waiting. My brother went inside to check, and the response from the kitchen staff was shockingly rude. We were told, “It is ready now, and someone is bringing it to your table!” followed by “What do you want? We already gave you a free coffee!” We never want to be difficult customers, but this response was completely unacceptable. After waiting 80 minutes for a kids’ meal—while being spoken to in such a disrespectful way—we felt extremely frustrated and disappointed. No one even offered a refund or any proper resolution. This restaurant truly expected us to stay and have a child eat their meal after everyone else had already finished and after we had been insulted by the staff. In the end, we simply left, disappointed, with two very unhappy children. What started as a wonderful dining experience turned into a truly frustrating one. It’s such a shame because the food and waitstaff were great, but the way this situation was handled left us feeling incredibly let down. I sincerely hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves the way such issues are handled in the future.
Andrew K — Google review
As many people have already commented, the service is a little slow, and I certainly agree. We needed to get the menu ourselves and ask the waitress to order. I believe the issue is that the venue is pretty large and the staff hasnt got a clear overview who actually enters the premises. On the other hand, the food was very good, and outside on the patio between the trees was nice and relaxing. I would still recommend this place, but you will need to be a little patient being served.
Christian B — Google review
Good Food. Great Service. A warm environment to spend some time on a cool Tamborine day. Food was really good, we ordered Beef Burger, chips and Salmon with tropical salad. It was amazing. We look forward to visiting again!!
Steve M — Google review
We are locals on the mountain and thought we’d try the money trees new location after not loving it previously. We arrived around 9am on the Saturday and there was only about two other small groups seated. First thing we noticed was no drink menu but we just ordered some coffees and 3 meals. Basic hospitality tips would be to either bring cutlery with meals, or, tell people after paying where it is. Rather than make people walk all the way back into the cafe once food is at the table. It took over 15 minutes for coffee to arrive and well over half an hour for food to come out. It was not busy at all either. You get bugger all pancakes for $20 and it looks cheap, The other food bought out was missing ingredients, then took a further 10 minutes to rectify it. There’s better options on the mountain for a lot better money and value. Look elsewhere.

The Bavarian Grill Haus & Red Baron Brewery is a charming spot that offers traditional German cuisine and a wide selection of German beers in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The venue features lederhosen-clad staff, folk music, and a rustic ambiance, creating an authentic experience for visitors. Additionally, the establishment includes wedding facilities with a beautiful chapel and reception area, as well as a lovely restaurant with uniformed staff in traditional German dress.
We stopped as we drove through Mount Tambourine as I saw they advertised traditional German food. WEDDING FACILITIES Beautiful wedding chapel and reception area. I loved how the Gazebo floated on water, very romantic. RESTAURANT A gorgeous little bridge led you to a small restaurant with uniformed staff in German traditional dress. The interior was very well decorated and we were greeted warmly upon arrival. MENU I was visiting from Brisbane with me daughter for the day. While I well know the time and preparation that goes into German food (Family German) I could not justify $32+ each for a main meal at lunchtime. An older couple stopped debating over the menu for over 5 minutes and then left. A group of 10 friends with German backpackers arrived after us. They waited to be seated. They sat for 5 minutes and after viewing the prices all left at the same time we did. SUGGESTION FROM A BUSINESS WOMAN The prices for lunch are too expensive. Management/owners really need a reality check, you have so much going for you with location, atmosphere and look. Yet, you LOST 14 people due to your excessive pricing in the space of 10 minutes. Seriously take stock of your lunch menu and change it to accommodate a more budget conscious clientelle.

Only giving 2 stars as the lemon lime and bitters was the only good thing about the meal and the gardens were nice! 2 of the main beers were not available. The two meals we wanted weren't available so we ended up having the pork belly which was soggy and you could tell was thrown in the deep fryer to heat up. Was dry on the bottom and still very fatty and unpleasant to eat on the top. At $38 a plate you would expect a high standard of food! Ridiculous. They did accommodate us though which was nice as they only had one kids meal of sausages and Chips for $17 (which is a lot for a kids meal) but I asked if they could do a chicken schnitzel which they agreed. It came out non crumbed (like they took the crumb off it) and unappealing. Sauerkraut tasted like it was canned. Mashed potato was dry, bland and cold. Save your money and go somewhere else!! I wish I read the reviews. This place has so much potential and it's so neglected and obviously the chef is lacking the creative passion. Disappointed to spend $120 on half eaten meals that were rubbish! Shame!

A really pretty restaurant but too bad the Brewery is closed due to the pandemic. We had their home draft beer which tasted pretty good in my opinion as it was fresh from a new keg with lots of bubbles. I would love to try out their lunch menu but the place is only open from 11-4pm. It is manned by a pretty, friendly and helpful girl and a little kitty named Punni. The location is just across the street from Rotary lookout.

Overall good first experience here, food portions were large, beer was tasty, service was tailored and the use of typical German music created good atmosphere. Only thing is the establishment seems a little run down, could do with a major face lift/clean up both inside and out.

Beer hall setting with average food. The pork knuckle is enough for 2 or 3 people, so make sure to share. I've had much better ones, however! The buzzing flies were a real nuisance, detracting from my enjoyment. The beer was good.

We went to this place for lunch on Saturday, with hesitation, as we had read bad reviews. We thought that that couldn’t possibly be that bad and that we should give it a try. We were probably the first customers so our orders were taken right away and drinks came out quickly. When the food came out shortly thereafter, we realized why this place got many bad reviews. I ordered a schnitzel but what was presented in front of me in less than 7 mins from ordering looked nothing like ones I knew. It resembled KFC’s tenders, only that they are more crispy and tastier. The so-called schnitzel looked and tasted like cheap frozen microwave food, and I’m sure it was just heated up in a microwave. It wasn’t soggy but the thick crust had no texture. My partner’s pie was the same. Frozen microwave food, except the four twenty frozen pies from supermarkets had a more authentic pie crust. They were $29 each. Overpriced for what they were. Mushed potato and juice were the highlight of the lunch. Staff were friendly and trying their best.

I hate rating negatively, but in this case you need to know. The pond at the back was lovely with ducks and local cockatoos drank water from the fountain at the front. Dunkel was sublime. "Here for beer" resonated with me. That's the positives. The music is a bit too much, it's okay for 20 minutes, then ugh. The waiter wasn't friendly nor accommodating. It's expensive! Now, the majority of people eating here aren't here for the chips and salad. So when I asked if they could possibly cater for vegan the answer was "salad". Everything else, mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce is made in butter, no negotiation. I eagerly awaited the salad which consisted of 4 kinds of lettuce, a bit of red onion, tiny olives, strips of capsicum and some tomatoes. It was huge but not cut to eat. My gripe is that the chef made his point. He thinks vegans only eat grass or something and will not deviate from his menu at any cost. Well, that's your choice. Mine is not to support nor recommend this restaurant to anyone else. My husband, non-vegan, also made a negative review. Places like this can change their business to be inclusive, if they choose. Perhaps the next person will have a better experience. You decide.
