Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform

4.6
(1932)
Scenic spot
Logans Beach Whale Watching Platform, located in Warrnambool, Australia, is a wooden deck by the beach that offers stunning views of Southern right whale activity from May to October. This platform provides an unparalleled view of the coastline and the migrating whales. It's also a great spot to see other marine life such as dolphins, seals, and penguins. The purpose-built platform at Logans Beach allows visitors to witness Southern Right whales calving in Warrnambool Bay between June and September.
Incredible Experience! Amazing spot to see Southern Right Whales up close during winter. The viewing platform is well-designed with great ocean views. We were lucky to spot a mother and calf—unforgettable! Don’t miss it if you're in the area.
Iral N — Google review
This is a viewing platform that is quite known in the area. In whale season apparently you can spot whales right from this viewing platform. We were not in the right season but we took a shot anyway, without any luck though. Nevertheless it was peaceful and beautiful!
Fan — Google review
Annually between June and September, Southern Right whales return to the waters of this beach to calve. The whales often swim within a hundred metres of the shore. They can be viewed from a specially constructed platform in the sand dunes or from the beach. The waters are much lower than the platform, thus offering excellent whale spotting opportunity. We didn't see any whales during our visit here. Popular with tourists. Wear comfy shoes, take water, wear hat, sunscreen. Parking is easy on the access road. Beautiful place. Lots to see. Great place for photography. Free entry. Uneven terrain, lot of walking
S V — Google review
Waited to spot whales but we were not so fortunate. But view was stunning. 180 deg of sea and horizon. Waves and waves crashing into white "sea". Just awesome. Sounds of the waves, gives you a sense of the power of water. Overcast sky but still beautiful. Must not miss this stop. Has public toilets, very clean, very hygienic. Kudos to the people maintaining them.
CH — Google review
Incredible view, didn't see any whales but the pipers are in breeding season and there were some sparrows flitting about below me on the beach. Incredible view and worth a visit anyway, especially for a quiet moment with the winter waves. Look out for a sign on the deck that directs you to the whale watching facebook page.
Alexcia M — Google review
Great views, you are more than likely to see a whale during the seasons they are there. Wonderful atmosphere when busy and food carts also are available. Would suggest having toilets close by, so you can spend the day down there to wait and watch for the Whales. Lovely spot and a must go to location in Warnambool.
Tanita H — Google review
Plenty of carpark. Less than 100 metres walk to the viewing platform. It’s entirely up to your luck to spot whales as I didn’t see anything except for packs of tourists. Sunset is spectacular though.
Dennis L — Google review
Great spot to visit day or night. Beautiful ocean views from a very large viewing deck. Clever construction blocks out most of the wind and there are 2 viewing levels. If you plan to go down to the beach there is a shower to clean up and easy wheelchair access to viewing platforms The best spot the hear waves breaking as it echoes Amazing spot to be on a dark night to watch the Aurora

Nestled in the heart of Warrnambool, The Flying Horse Bar & Brewery has been a beloved local destination since its inception in 2008. This expansive venue boasts a modern design with ample outdoor seating and even a dedicated kids' room, making it an ideal spot for families. Guests can indulge in a delightful array of pub classics infused with unique twists, from locally sourced fish and chips to succulent pork belly and sesame chicken.
We attended the flying horse for their woodfire kitchen experience. The food was wonderful and very generous size portions. The fish was well cooked. Highly recommend. Huge outdoor space. Very clean and inviting. Nice friendly staff.

Attended on a Friday night with a short notice booking for 8 people. Staff were happy to accommodate us. Great atmosphere with very friendly and professional staff. Kids loved the playground while us parents could chat and relax and still keep an eye on them. Table service is a great plus instead of having to line up and order. Food was amazing and fresh with generous portion size. Best meal I have had at a restraint in a long time, thoroughly impressed and will be back!
Dougie L — Google review
First time here- staying at the local caravan park! The meal was outstanding and served very quickly. We both opted for the roast pork loin on the seniors menu - only $20, and it was delicious! The atmosphere was also wonderful, with young families enjoying their evening meal. Will go again before we move on!
John K — Google review
Lured in by the unique food fired kitchen, we were not disappointed. On an extremely busy night with multiple functions and birthdays we were greeted with a smile and shown our table. We were told wait times were a little longer but they were working hard, we appreciated the honesty and were happy to wait. Food arrived within 30 minutes, nachos were a hit! The pizza was also divine! Generous sizing, thin crust, great crunch, it left you feeling full but not sick, the perfect main. A huge 18th in the same area meant it was loud, but most of them headed out to the beer garden which reduced the noise, can’t help when people have large bookings. The other bistro area was also packed to the max. If you were after a quiet, intimate date night, I would recommend somewhere else. This place is great for groups of friends. We would definitely visit again!
Emily C — Google review
Four of us came for dinner last week and I cannot fault our experience. Two of us are very picky eaters and we were both incredibly happy. The cheese and garlic pizza was nice, if I had to nitpick I’d say maybe a little more garlic, but still really nice. Two of us got well done steaks that were actually cooked well done which is hard to get - this alone makes a returning customer out of me. Everyone’s food was great, nice clean and quiet place. Can’t wait to come back!
Nakita A — Google review
Visited from Adelaide, will visit again in the future. Not only was the schnitzels perfect, says a lot about a place when their chips are yummy as well. Very friendly staff. Thank you Flying Horse
Eva — Google review
Several issues with our meals. Lamb medallion was more like mutton overcooked and lukewarm. Got refunded for this meal. One ordered veges with fish and had to remind wait to bring vegetables. Meal was only warm. As wait staff took empty plates reminded 2 deserts had been ordered. After 15mins asks about deserts. Told by wait staff would check with kitchen. After half an hour still no desert. Eating companions left. Staff that served us did with an attitude that felt like we were a nuisance.

Sorry to say, but possibly the worst meal I've had in Warrnambool, the chicken was dry but sauce was nice. Bones in the Salmon. Sauce on the barramundi tasted like custard, not the worst meal I've had but.

We had a blast looking at everything. Got a few goodies. The staff are so nice and good for a chat. I'd need a truck and to win the lottery for all the amazing things I wanted to take home.

Fletcher Jones Market is a multi-story featuring different vendors with a range of unique items. Lots of cool things to look at, however some items are quite pricey. Staff who work there are friendly and helped me have a look at an item in a cupboard. Great place to browse through the Knick knacks..

There is soo much to explore here and things for just about everyone. You could spend hours roaming and exploring and only touch the surface. Defently worth a visit to if your in the area and make sure you allow some time!

Wow! So many great sites! I could spend hours here and I actually have… So many different items, there really is something for everyone!

Our weekday visit was brief but could have been longer to this huge 2 level former apparel warehouse factory containing a range of at least 200 plus “stalls and mini bazaars “ containing collectables, clothing, footwear ,homewares , art and artifacts. With a visit!
Joe S — Google review
Lots of treasure pieces are found here including jewelery, home decoration, shoes, antiques, clothing etc. Staff is also very helpful
Amna K — Google review
Lots of individual little stalls. Never know what is round that next corner there. And staff always very helpful. The gardens are beautiful and worth a visit for that itself.

Not quite Antiques Roadshow but the market houses lots of old and not so old stuff under one roof and over a couple of floors. My kid spotted an out-of-print handbag and thought it was a good deal. The hit to the wallet was compensated by a visit to the lovely, well-manicured gardens.

Simon's Waterfront is a popular dining spot located at the Warrnambool Surf Lifesaving Club, offering stunning ocean views and a relaxed atmosphere. The venue features large windows and a beer garden, providing an ideal setting to enjoy a meal while taking in the picturesque surroundings. The modern decor and floor-to-ceiling windows create a trendy ambiance, perfect for savoring high-quality dishes made with fresh ingredients.
Came for small lunch as going out for dinner. We opted for 3 entrees. They were superb, each was an absolute taste sensation and beautifully presented. First photo, the dumplings, we had already had two before I took the photo. Second, the spring rolls, the same, I had eaten more than half. Finally the beautiful tacos I remembered to take a photo before we ate them! Had a glass of wine each also. Beautiful spot to eat looking over the gorgeous coastline. Will be back for sure when in Warrnambool!

Nice restaurant, dog friendly on a large terrace. Unfortunately, you are also exposed to a pretty strong, gusty wind. The seafood chowder in a bun was phenomenal! Feeding en entire family if you eat the bun as well - justifying the price ;-) The garlic prawns were nice as well. The prawn tacos were OK. Add a cold beer and enjoy the view.
Andreas L — Google review
Great views of the coastline, great service and the food was good! Unfortunately sold out of prawns by 3pm! But the calamari, prawn tacos and garlic chilli pizza was great! The garlic chilli pizza isn’t spicy at all, but really tasty.
Darcy M — Google review
What more can one ask for than window seats at a beachfront restaurant. What a beautiful view. Food wasn’t too bad either. Just a short lunch stop at Warrnambool on my way to Adelaide. Good place to stretch the tired legs after a 5 hour trip from eastern suburbs of Melbourne. 😌 Food is a bit costly but worth the view!!!
Shena D — Google review
We ordered the fish of the day and the seafood chowder. 1. Seafood chowder - good amount of seafood and the Cobb loaf was good. But the sauce was lacking a lot of flavour and for $40+ we expected better. 2. Fish and chips - The fish was ok but the batter tasted like it was cooked in old oil. The salad looked and tasted like one of the Asian salad mix packets you get from Woolworths. Ultimately, it was too expensive for the experience received, in my opinion. The service was slow from my experience and it didn’t look very busy. Another table had to walk up to the bar to order as they were waiting for a bit too long. Maybe understaffed or they were having a bad day? Great atmosphere though.
FlavourFiend — Google review
Food was delicious. Perfect location. Kinf enough to accomadate us the last minute. We were told about longer waiting time before we ordered. It was worth the wait.
Hazel D — Google review
This meal was a letdown from start to finish. The calamari was the tiniest I’ve ever seen in Australia—barely a mouthful, overwhelmed by batter, and completely lacking in squid flavour. It felt more like eating fried crumbs than seafood. The chowder was even worse. Over $40 AUD for a bread bowl that couldn’t even hold a full serving? It was more of a tasting portion than a proper meal. For that price, I expected generous portions and standout taste. Sadly, it missed the mark on both. Overall, the experience felt like style over substance. Small portions, underwhelming flavour, and poor value.
Rocielle B — Google review
Had a lovely meal experience at Simons Waterfront restaurant in the Warrnambool RSL. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was fabulous, in particular the prawn birdnests. And the view is uninterrupted and pretty spectacular. Loved it

Fast food restaurant
McDonald's, a well-established and enduring fast-food franchise recognized for its hamburgers and French fries, stands out as the sole establishment open for business on Christmas day. It is a testament to the belief that life should not come to a halt during the festive season. We extend our gratitude to both male and female employees for their diligent efforts in keeping things running smoothly. Cheers!
I think that the open twenty four hours is a great idea . People coming from night shifts and early morning jobs and travelers passing through , and even those who wake up needing to access some fast food ; the option is there . It is nice and quiet . Some prefer that than daytime crowds. It is such a great convenience for providing that access eatery service . Very pleased about it .
Maree C — Google review
Staff on coffee machine teaching others how to make coffee while making lukewarm hot chocolates instead of mochas, not wiping the milk wand between using almond milk and normal milk, and just taking ages in general. Food also poorly put together and took even longer
Hez G — Google review
Appalling state of food and service. The burger meal we received was like it was weeks old including the ingredients in it. Cardboard chicken burger barely there and the additional bacon was rock hard. The fries were also cold and old. Tried to call by phone to rectify and no answer even after 6 tries. We were travelling to a weekend away and so to find this in the bag after we left the drive thru was disappointing enough, no answer on contact number a double whammy. Won’t bother with McDonalds again. Tired and disappointed.
Debbie M — Google review
food is absolutely disappointing. ordered two choc thick shakes and gave us a vanilla soft serve and chocolate soft serve?? toilets are very disgusting. wet clumps of toilet paper clogging the sinks, and the smell is foul. food overall was very dry and did not satisfy us. very bad dont come here
Isaac P — Google review
Drive thru was backed up and not moving. Decided to go in store. OMG So slow, staff appeared to stop for a meeting while people were waiting for their order. Then stood and witnessed staff member argue with people over a families ice cream order. Someone got something wrong and instead of just fixing it argued over $1.10 what has happened to the good old days of MACCAS
Anita ( — Google review
Ordered 2 chocolate Sundays and paid for extra sauce to get 2 Sundays with the sauce all over the cups and spoons and not even one full pump of sauce in either of them! Cold chips in the meals and trying to call the restaurant for 45 minutes with no answer! Very poor service, pathetic presentation will not be going back to east, will go to central from now on at least they answer the phone!
Kimmy M — Google review
Standing outside talking to my friend I noticed the condition of the maccas delivery car. Drivers side had the space saver tyre on it (fair enough, it happens) but what I saw next was the passengers side tyre was completely bald. So bald the canvas is showing through. I'm convinced these cars do not get serviced. Bald tyres is poor form on maccas east behalf especially since young p platers are the main drivers. With the rain we've had lately this is putting drivers at risk. Lift your game Maccas East. It's bad enough you sell crap food but to put young inexperienced drivers in unroadworthy cars is dangerous.
Nicole R — Google review
I ordered a soft serve at 8:45pm and we watched the server drop the serviette on the ground then pick it back up, look at us, and continue to make my ice cream. I told the blonde girl with glasses at the window we watched her drop it and would like a fresh one and all she said was “no I didn’t”, I refused to take the ice cream till it was remade. Absolutely disgusting service, having worked at McDonald’s before, I know what can touch those floors and don’t want that touching my mouth. Would not recommend.

Quickly stopped over during the long weekend. The girls were wonderful and managed to fit us in. The food was good too. Decent portion. Bread was a bit tough and struggled to cut into but the taste made up for it. It was a but warm in the restaurant, probably the AC didn’t work but overall Would recommend. I would recommend the Ice chocolate over the ice coffee.

Very greesy, tasty like old cooking oil. Fish was ok but far from perfect. $45 for the family meal was rather over priced I though, for the quality of food. Small serving of chips for a family feed. It's ya basic run of the mill fish and chips nothing special. Went here for a change because of the convenience as it was on the way to the beach. 97% chance I won't be going here again.

Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village and Museum in Warrnambool is a historic port village spread across 10 hectares, offering a captivating glimpse into the maritime history of the area. The museum features costumed interpreters and showcases shipwreck artifacts and vessels, shedding light on the perilous Shipwreck Coast. Visitors can explore stories of sailors and travelers who met their fate in these treacherous waters, including the heroic rescue tale of Tom Pearce during the Loch Ard shipwreck.
Worth the visit. The history was very interesting. We were there for the wool festival and it was enjoyable. The staff and volunteers there are knowledgeable and friendly. I enjoyed reading about the cultural significance of the village. My husband particularly enjoyed the cannon firing, and I agree it was pretty cool. Your ticket is also good for 7 days - you can visit multiple times in that period. Interesting for adults and kids, but fun too.

Flagstaff Maritime Village in Warrnambool is an absolute hidden gem, especially for those who are into ships and maritime history. The entry ticket lasts for 7 days, which makes it incredibly worth it if you’re staying in the area. Though it’s not a large village, it has a magical way of making you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Your visit starts with a museum showcasing the tragic shipwrecks along the coast, filled with fascinating artefacts and stories that really pull you in. I spent half a day wandering through the site, and every corner felt like a picture-perfect moment with something new to learn. Whether you’re a history buff or just looking for a scenic, educational stop, this place is a must-visit in Warrnambool.

In Warrnambool, the Flagstaff Hill Marine Village is well recommended as a visit if you are local or touring. Our Entry Tickets for Seniors were $15 each - well worth it. Highly recommend to take one of the regular Tours with a local well-informed Guide. This will take you through the inside museum. The story of the Loch-Ard ship is the most interesting! About 40 minutes inside. You are then free to walk the outside Village. This Village id beautifully set out representing the past. Shops, workshops, Bank, School, Printer, etc., free to enter and walk through each. This is very informative, and well set out, built from goods and materials from the time. Allow about 45 mins outside. Total, need about 2 hours there. Yes, well recommended.

It was very much worthwhile to visit and give you a view into the past. Great exhibition matched only by the very friendly and supportive staff. The old buildings and displays are wonderful. Take your time to travel back in time, when things were not as easy as today. We had a wonderful time, thank you.

This is a place that transports you back to the past. Give yourself the time and attention to understand their lives and their stories of their times. It was a learning and eye-opening experience and journey and marvelled how real and true the preserved artifacts are. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my thanks for the team's hardwork, commitment and dedication in preserving and taking great care of them. I have a better understanding of Australia and it's history. Highly recommend to anyone to have a insight into their history.

I absolutely loved my visit to Flagstaff Hill Maritime Village in Warrnambool! This beautifully recreated 19th-century maritime village feels like stepping into a charming European hamlet with historic buildings that transport you back in time.

Very well presented historical village highlighting the early Settlers (whalers, fisherman). It's position increases the visitors ability to imagine life in this era. Very good presentations about the shipwreck prone coastline and early whaling craft. You can spend a good part of the day exploring this village. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Only stayed 1 day but was offered a stamp on the ticket which permitted entry again for 3 days (this was during a school holiday period). Reasonably priced. Cafe on site.

Simple cabins with kitchens, decks and flat-screen TVs, plus BBQ and picnic areas.
We had a great time at Surfside, it was my first time staying at a campsite. We stayed on a powered site during Easter weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful, it was super easy to get hooked up to the power. The facilities were nice and clean and the showers were nice and hot and right in front of the beach. The price was also very reasonable at $80 a night, I will definitely be staying Again.

Great staff, it was my first time camping in Australia and I wasn't sure of a few things but they sorted me out. I arrived by bicycle and set my tent up no worries. They did advise that there had been cases of stolen bicycles and offered to lock it up inside the office. Some people in the reviews had said that was a concern. Kitchen was great, and bathrooms were clean too. The heater in the dining area didn't work though, so you might want to look into that. Great location and again very friendly front desk. Thank you!

The rooms here were great. Spacious, clean and had everything we could need. The only drawback was a noisy air conditioner right above the main bed. Cold without it running, hard to sleep with the noise when it was. Great location and really friendly service.

Nice clean park and well-kept amenities. You couldn’t really hear the ocean from our site, but we saw wild animals around and even a little bunny, which was a fun surprise for Ted! Overall a peaceful stop close to everything we needed. 🐇🌾

Amazing caravan park, very large, LOTS of amenities. Pricing is great for powered site. Service from staff is amazing, they managed to fit us in on very short notice with very polite and easy going attitude. Close to the beach & parks, really good if you have kids! Very close to hot springs and other things in area. There’s also a little takeaway at reception.

Camping here in a Saturday night is very very noisy with cars doing burn outs and engine heads speeding up and down the road all night & I mean all night! It was terrible. The site itself is immaculate! The showers & camp kitchen is perfect. The staff were friendly & helpful.

Lake Pertobe is a lovely place to spend some time with the family. There are plenty of things to do and see. There are multiple playgrounds for the kids, a maze, flying foxes, water features and walking tracks. Bird life is also very abundant throughout the park. Onsite motorboat and pedal bike hire is available for those brave enough to navigate around the waterway. Motorboats are $20 for 15 minutes which will get you 3 laps of one of the smaller lakes or $30 for 30 minutes. There is lots of room to move and play, plenty of BBQ and toilet facilities and some onsite parking.

Cannon Hill Lookout at Warrnabool Visited on 20/6/2019 Cannon Hill Lookout is located at the top of Cannon Hill or Mt Cannon. What a fantastic view of Lake Pertobe just directly ahead below. Around the lorokout is lustrous green field. At the roundabout stands a monument wth an Angel on top of it. This monument is known as the Dirty Angel. Not far from it is a cannon. Cannon Hill is so named for the artillery installed there during the mid-1800s due to preparations for possible Russian invasion.

The Whalers Hotel is a popular pub in Warrnambool, known for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse offerings. With a rooftop courtyard, sports bar, and bistro menu, it caters to various preferences. The venue hosts live bands and DJs, making it a go-to spot for entertainment. The establishment has a rich history dating back to the 1940s when it was known as the Commercial Hotel before rebranding.
The Whalers Hotel – Eye Fillet Heaven ★★★★★ Had the eye fillet steak and the eye fillet salad at The Whalers Hotel and both were absolutely spot on! The steak was perfectly cooked, super juicy, and full of flavour. The salad was fresh, well-balanced, and the tender pieces of eye fillet made it a standout. The person at the counter (possibly the manager) seemed a bit tired or maybe just having a long day, but honestly, the quality and taste of the food made up for it completely. Sometimes, the food speaks louder than the vibe—and this was one of those times. Would definitely go back for another round. Highly recommend it if you’re a steak lover! Thank you 😊

Stopped in for a quiet, solo lunch today. I was simply looking for somewhere with decent food and cold beer - I was not disappointed. As soon as I walked in, I received a warm and friendly greeting. Ordered the Wagu Sandwich and it was brilliant! Perfectly cooked, medium rare steak (you dan choose med well), a light and fluffy, toasted Turkish roll and condiments that didn't overpower the steak flavour. Service was fast - but not "too fast". As it was 2pm on a Saturday, it was relatively quiet, so difficult to assess the atmosphere. I will definitely be back another time for dinner.

We tried our luck tonight for a last minute family dinner. There were 6 of us coming and there were no tables big enough, however they rearranged some for us last minute and we so appreciate this effort. The staff were all so accomodating and hospitable. Even when I was a terrible patron and spilled a beer all over the table. The food was incredible, if you don’t order the rib eye you’re missing out! Cooked to absolute perfection with duck fat roasted potato. ❤️ A special mention to Sammy (I hope that’s his name) who was more than accomodating and helpful. From the bar staff to the wait staff and manager, you are amazing. It was under sad circumstances we ended up in Warrnambool today, but this experience really impressed us and lifted our spirits. I will be recommending it to everyone!

We recently dined at the Whalers Hotel and had a positive experience overall. The majority of our group was very happy with their meals; the steak and chicken dishes were delicious. Unfortunately, one of our party found their pancetta pork loin to be a bit dry and the accompanying risotto was quite salty. Despite this, the service was excellent—the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. We'd still recommend the Whalers Hotel for a reliable and enjoyable pub meal."

Was staying in Warrnambool from Melbourne. Reviews look good but don’t be fooled by them. I experienced good fast service. Food was ready in 10 mins which should have been the red flag. Was with some mates, we ordered a few pizzas (the lot) polli fungi pasta, calamari. Pasta had as much flavour as a cracker. I don’t think it had a single pinch of salt nor pepper. It had no complexity, empty taste just plain fettuccine with sauce. Lacked any noticeable flavour 1/5 ⭐️ This was less of a ‘The Lot’ pizza and more of a BBQ sauce and prawn overload. First off, the BBQ sauce completely drowned out any other flavors, making everything taste the same—sweet and overpowering. On top of that, the prawns were so massive that every bite was just a mouthful of prawn, completely overshadowing the other toppings (not that you could taste them over the BBQ sauce anyway). To make things worse, the whole pizza was sloppy and fell apart while eating. If they balanced the ingredients properly and used a traditional tomato base, this could have been decent. Instead, it was just a mess 2/5 ⭐️ Calamari actually not bad. Only issue it was over priced for the small handful that you got. And it was complimented with guacamole. WTH serves calamari with avocado lol. Where’s the tartar sauce? Herbed mayo?? Cmonnn man 2/5⭐️ Don’t waste your time. Not worth the reviews

Took mum here for dinner and we had the baked brie, wings, pasta and steak. Warm atmosphere and the service staff so polite and attentive. Akin to what you’d expect from a three hat restaurant. Recommended if you’re in Warrnambool.

Local pizza restaurant , the pizza was amazing ! Pizza was better than pasta though. Very thin and crispy layer. Recommend ‘The Lot ( Everything but the kitchen Sink )’ had it for take away but forgot to take a photo. My third time in Warrnambool this year and I’ve taken different friends and family here. Very nice place to dine in after deep blue hot spring. Better to order first over the phone for take away because they are very busy and popular on Friday night !

Bojangles is a truly wonderful restaurant! The service was exceptional, attentive and thoughtful. For example, when we accidentally dropped a fork, staff promptly brought us fresh utensils. They were also very mindful of my son’s nut allergy, which made us feel completely at ease. The ambience is fantastic. I loved the paintings throughout the restaurant, and the fit-out was spacious and inviting. But the real star was the food! We had The Lot and Meat Lovers pizzas, the ingredients were high quality, and the base was perfectly crisp and thin, just how I like it. We usually skip dessert, but couldn’t resist the Death by Chocolate and Tiramisu. Both were outstanding and well worth it. Thank you, Bojangles, for a beautiful evening — highly recommendif you're in Warrnambool!

Nestled in the picturesque Warrnambool, "Pippies By The Bay" is a delightful seafood restaurant that offers an unforgettable dining experience with breathtaking views of the ocean and Flagstaff Maritime Village. This award-winning establishment specializes in Modern Australian cuisine, showcasing seasonal ingredients that highlight the region's culinary treasures.
I booked this place on a whim, purely because it was next to where we were staying... It was so good! Their seafood dishes are amazing, as are their deserts. The kids also loved their meals (there is a kids menu)! If you let the staff know you have children on advance, they will cater with drawing paper and pencils etc to keep them engaged. The cray fish is one of the best we've ever had. Very fresh, definitely not frozen or chewy. There's lots of passion put into the dishes here. And you'll know it when you feel a high with no alcohol, just from enjoying the foods with great energy.

Mostly amazing : entree of cheese & wine garlic pizza was tasty (and gluten free), rib eye steak was delicious and dessert reminded my husband of childhood but the citrus/basil/parmesan crayfish risotto I took a chance on, believing that the chef did this combination for a reason but was met with so much white onion and contrasting flavours. Not great. Wine was delicious, service delightful and setting was nice too.

Lovely dinner with one of the best views in Warrnambool. Very reasonably priced for such nice food. I had the barramundi and my partner had the snapper. Beware the snapper if you don't like bones in your fish - but otherwise was great. I didn't have any wine but they have an extensive list if that's your thing. Definitely worth a visit.

WOW This restaurant was beyond my expectations. The atmosphere is fresh clean and modern with indoor and out door seating. The freindly staff were very professional and on point with their service. The scenery looking out over the ocean breathtaking and the food OMG amazing flavours that just melted with every bite. A great menu variety and price range is very reasonable. Very nice staff, and decent food that will fill you up. Got the Pippie’s seafood platter as well as the whole fried flounder. The platter is a teensy bit on the pricey side but the calamari was melt-in-the-mouth and the salad was well-dressed. The flounder was a bit bland to me, but my partner liked it, so maybe that’s just a me-issue. The ambience itself is alright. It’s a little dark, but they do offer to turn a little light on for you if you can’t see the menu. We came on a night where there was a huge party of about 20 people. They were very very understaffed when we arrived (not their fault), which did cause a bit of a delay with ordering and food arriving. I actually felt bad for the staff as many of the other guests were very demanding, and clearly intoxicated. One of the waitresses said that if it was too loud, they were happy to move us to a different space. My point is that even though they were understaffed and getting bombarded by a single table of guests, they still tried to be as accomodating as possible. Bookings are essential and you can tell they want pretty much everyone who walks through those doors to have one, so email or ring up to do so. I would recommend it for anyone in the area, and hopefully there won’t be a huge party going on to taint the experience! The food and the service save this place from a lower rating (:

Had dinner here after exploring Warrnambool. Ooooo, I got to admit, I simply loveeee the Turkish bread! It was just soooo delicious. Soft, crunchy and with the butter, yummylicous and when add with cheese, mouth watering! 😋 Pumpkin soup was soooo smooth. Ribeye was perfectly cooked and loved every single bite. Zucchini Pasta was flavoursome for a vegetarian dish. Barramundi was delicately cooked and was delicious. Dessert was light and fulfilling. During COVID, the setup was rearranged and looks clean and uncluttered - minimalism at its best - very COVID safe. I dined here a few times while staying in Warrnambool. I was informed that they just changed their menu, and any feedback was appreciated. The Chefs Johnny and Bryce, accompanied by apprentice chef Mario will surprise you with their plating, food combinations and tasty selections. The entrees/firsts/starters - were enough to keep me pleasantly happy for most of my stay. Prices varied from $10 - $16, which is very reasonable; servings are on the generous side. Recommendations: [Favs - 2, 4 & 6] 1. Garlic Cheese Sourdough - reminded me of a toastie. It goes great with beer! 2. Charcuterie Board - not boring, or same as others you receive - the beetroot chutney and chicken pate were the standouts. The cured meats - some not to my liking, but overall nice. The dried fruits went well with the chutney and dip - especially the apple. 3. Lamb Cutlets - interesting, modern presentation, with roasted cherry tomatoes, minted yoghurt and dukkah. Cutlets cooked to perfection. 4. Stuffed Mushrooms - yummy goodness - beetroot chutney, roasted pumpkin, garlic, pine nuts, thyme and spinach. [Perfect meal the night before driving long distances - not heavy]. 5. Bao Buns - soft buns, not dry, thinly sliced pork belly [easier to bite], sticky sauce and amply dressed slaw - went well with the mushrooms [no.4] and a beer. 6. Seared Scallops - tried as a main, but this version was better - sweet potato mash, asparagus spears with small pieces of crunchy onion, feta and lime dressing. This was so tasty and my meal of the Warrnambool trip. Honourable mentions - the pannacotta - give it it a try - perfect wobble accompanied with cream, but not sure about the sugar shard...Flavours change - be surprised! The churros were good, but the pannacotta was better. Book a table [highly recommended, as they were booked out when I was there] and try and get the window seat to watch the incredible sunsets. It is one of the best 'on-the-road dining experiences I have had in a while. YUM!

Classic little restaurant right on the corner, also a part of Best Western here in Warrnambool, Australia. Good service, scrumptious fodder, adequately priced. Across the street from the Visitors Center so it’s impossible to miss. Must try are the ribs!

Stayed in a room here and went to dinner in the restaurant. The restaurant can stand on its own with great food and staff that are friendly and helpful. We had Lamb backstrap and a Ribeye. Lamb backstrap was cooked perfectly with lots of flavour. Large piece of lamb that is sure to fill anyone! The Ribeye (450g) was huge and was cooked exactly the way requested. Lovely char flavour with great crust, tender quality meat! The spuds that came with steak were sensational! Next time we are in Warrnambool we will not hesitate in going here for dinner again!

Beautiful place with a great menu. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was enjoyable, but it was quite expensive for the portion size, and all of the dishes were a little on the cold side. Other than that, it was very good. I probably wouldn't go again but if those things don't bother you, then you'll love it.

The cafe is known for its delicious seasonal breakfast and lunch dishes, including classics like beer-battered local Portland flake and chips and seasonal grazing platters. The venue also boasts an excellent selection of local craft beers.
We walked in and got seated right away. Food arrived at a good time, perfectly cooked eggs. Very yummy. Portions looked smaller than expected. Coffee was great. Freshly squeezed orange juice was tasty! Great views.

My husband and I had the pleasure of enjoying yesterday's breakfast at Pavilion Café & Bar, and it was nothing short of outstanding. I had the avocado toast paired with a chai latte, and my husband had eggs Benedict; both were absolutely delicious—honestly worthy of a Michelin star. The presentation, flavours, and quality were all top-tier. The café itself was spotless, and the atmosphere was incredibly inviting. The view is simply to die for—easily one of the most scenic breakfast spots we've experienced. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. Service was quick and efficient, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this gem to anyone looking for exceptional food, stunning views, and a truly memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be back!

The Pavilion is a Warrnambool Icon, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy the view no matter the weather. We just happened to chance a pod of dolphins in the bay which was amazing. Sorry no photos of the dolphins. Atmosphere and service was great, didn’t have a meal but the bowl of chips were great. A nice aioli or side sauce other than just tomato would have been great. Worth a coffee stop or lunch if you’re in the area. They don’t do a dinner service, only breakfast and lunch.

Came here for a breakfast on Wednesday morning. Had ‘The Pavilion’, a delicious and large breakfast meal with sourdough toast, poached eggs, bacon, mushrooms, pork sausage and tomato. Reasonably priced and the view was amazing from the seat. The ocean was a beautiful visual accompaniment to a culinary experience of a lifetime. Although, I would have preferred a window view down to the civic green as this is the main attraction of the Warrnambool area. Great place to propose, eat unhealthy amounts of bacon or share a classic yarn with the locals.

Spectacular and attentive service from the moment you arrive ! This is how cafes should be run - customer service, quick and perfect coffee, food on point and not over complicated. Well done team, you should be proud. Views over the bay add to the atmosphere and calmness.

What to Expect: A Picturesque Entry: The journey begins with a wooden bridge, which serves as a perfect introduction to the bay. Breathtaking Views: As you cross the bridge, you’re greeted by the stunning sight of the ocean meeting the shore, with waves crashing against the rocks. Tim — an adult man — actually relaxed. 🙌 I’ve been asking him to come here forever, and finally on our 10-year wedding anniversary trip he said yes. We brought our 5-year-old son, and I’ll admit I was anxious he’d be too loud… but both of them completely relaxed and enjoyed themselves. That meant I finally got to relax too. 🩵 The atmosphere was beautiful, the staff were welcoming, and the pools were pure magic ✨ warm, clean, and calming. 10/10 experience. If you’re doing the Great Ocean Road, make this a must-stop. Aesthetically stunning and so worth it. 💦✨

A very calm and relaxed environment, the evening session was amazing. Hopping for pool to pool & cold plunge in-between. I loved the sardine tin's, cold plunge & the flower oils pool the most. Can not wait to come back, I'm honest going to quit drinking and spend the money here instead. Heath.

Such a great way to wind down, recharge, and relax. Though it was a public holiday, it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. There were quite a few times when we didn't have anyone else in our pool. 100% recommend! I'll definitely be coming back!

TL;DR overhyped rude and an overpriced tourist trap. We stayed here for one night, it was ok but I was a bit disappointed, it's the type of place that nicles and dimes you fro everything. I was immediately disappointed at check in when they told me I had to pay extra for parking which was not advertised on the booking system it implied parking was free. Yes there is technically free stree parking about 5 minute walk from the hotel. Late check out is also $25 per hour was hoping to actually book the spa services and asked if there was any chance I could check out slightly later so I could. You would think me wanting to spend money on the spa services they would be happy for a slightly later check out. Nope you must pay for that! Wellp you lost my business. I found that the check in guy was quite indifferent and a little on the rude /short side. It's not the level of service I would expect for the price tag of this place After looking at some of the more disappointed reviews over the last few years looks like others have had a similar experience, what's more disappointing is that the hotel does replay with lip service saying they will take on the feedback but I guess they never do. They will probably respond to this review with something like were sorry you had a disappointing experience we will pass your feedback on. That's won't really achieve anything see that others in the past have also had similar experiences. The rooms was clean and nice the mattress was comfortable. Would not return particularly given the disappointing checkin experience.

This was amazingly beautiful and relaxing place to recharge and heal. So relaxing and beautiful especially at night, lots of different pools to try and experience. So clean and staff always walking around checking to see if we were ok. If I lived here I'd be going every week for sure. I've never been more relaxed. Love love loved it!!
Jordyn A — Google review
We stayed here for the last few days of our holiday in Australia and it was worth it. After a good 2 weeks of AO tennis, Sidney… this was a good place to discover the Great Ocean Road & unwind before heading back home! It was my first time experiencing hot springs and it did not disappoint. I surprised my mom with this experience & the Salt Therapy and she loved it. We were already staying at the hotel & it made access that much more easy. The facilities are clean and easily accessible. I lost count on how many baths they had… 6+. It was Australia Day ‘weekend’@ there was quite a bit of traffic but with the number of springs it went unnoticed & I think there’s capacity, so it’s important to book ahead of time. The space is clean and well maintained and the service was exceptional. If you can, take the package and experience the Salt Therapy… great place for complete relaxation. *also, don’t forget to wear black bathing suits as the spring water minerals may ruin that new bikini and you wouldn’t want that 😉

Saw some whales coming in on our first visit. Very beautiful coast line.
Jordyn A — Google review
You'll want to be here at higher tide for the best splashes. Nice views up and down the coast. Wheelchair accessible boarwalk to the lookout, Decent sized car park, but could imagine it getting busy during peak season.

This spot is a must for sunset and thunderstorm photos. It is also picturesque all the time but when waves are crashing against the rocks and splashing up in a storm it is just beautiful. There is a sturdy lookout platform to take good photos of the rough rocks and waves. You can also sit in your car and watch the waves from the carpark.
Leigh S — Google review
Thunder Point totally surprised me. I wasn't expecting much, just another scenic stop along the coast. But man, this place packs a punch. The walk itself was easy, a nice leg-stretcher with some ups and downs to keep it interesting. But the views! As soon as you round the corner and the ocean unfolds before you, it takes your breath away. The water was this incredible turquoise, crashing against the rugged coastline. There were even a couple of surfers bobbing around, waiting for the perfect wave. I spent ages just standing at Pickering Point Lookout, soaking it all in. The wind whipped through my hair, and I could smell the salty spray. It felt incredibly calming, a world away from the city noise I was used to. The walk itself wasn't crowded, and there were plenty of spots to just pull over and enjoy the scenery. I even saw a few families with young kids exploring the rock pools at low tide. The only downside was the last bit of the walk. The terrain got a little uneven, with some loose rocks underfoot. Not a major issue, but definitely something to keep in mind if you're not the most sure-footed. Overall, though, Thunder Point was a hidden gem. If you're ever in Warrnambool, definitely take the time to check it out. You won't regret the walk (or the amazing views)!

Went in to buy clothes and paid for someone else’s stuff as well. I was then told after I had paid that she could not do a refund and had to go to the customer service desk and could not call someone to the front counter to do it. I went to the service desk where there was 10 teenage kids hanging around with the staff member making a mess, opening and using products, going behind the counter, and the staff member did not do anything. It was completely unprofessional and does not make me want to go back to the store

Decent sized store with plenty of parking nearby. It looks neat and well designed with plenty of checkouts even though only 2 are manned they sure do look nice and pretty sitting there. Prices are typical target, being half way between Myer and Kmart. Like most stores you get served based on what you're wearing. Wear something nice and you'll have excellent customer service especially from the older staff that have been there a while. Review based on personal experience only and individual results may vary.

Rude service continuously with the older female staff. I am a local and this just one of the places that surprise with their shocking service every damn time. Even today, I bet my sister $5 that the lady who served me would be rude. I won $5! She did not, I repeat DID NOT say a word through the whole transaction, until she walked away yelling out to her colleague. Rude rude rude. NB. I should add that this is referring to the older ladies who are always at the front of the store - the younger kids that work at the store have always been lovely!

Fantastic cafe! We had breakfast here recently and absolutely loved it! We ordered the Corn Fritter Stack and the Boho Omelette and both were really delicious! Friendly, kind, atmosphere, with a big heart. We were greeted at the door as old friends would be, quickly seated and provided with water, reading material and menu's. The breakfast tacos are a must; fresh ingredients, vibrant colours and fantastic flavour profile will have you begging for more. Easily the best coffee in town regardless if you sit in or take-away, (or if you're me, both). My biggest take away from this place was how honest and kind the owner was. We chatted while waiting for my coffee to go, it's easy to see why this place is always so busy. Integrity is not something that can be taught but, it's easy to see this woman has it in spades. We can't wait to return for the tacos, and to see them continue to flourish.

LOVE!!!!!! The food really stood out. 9am in the morning but we gobbled every bit down. The breakfast tacos had layers of flavour and tons of ingredients that came together so well you may struggle to pinpoint what ingredients you're even eating in a bite. Eggs ben was possibly the best ive had in my memory and may have restored my faith in eggs ben.

We had breakfast and coffees, husband had eggs Benedict and the hollandaise sauce had split before could eat it and the ham was very thin and cold, but the thick cut bread was great and overall still tasted good. I had scrambled eggs on toast and the bread was delicious and eggs nice and fluffy, smashed avocado was quite brown so not the freshest avocado. But overall an ok meal.

Absolutely brilliant theatre experience! Lighthouse Theatre in Warrnambool is a real gem. The seating is super comfy, and you’ve got a cracking view of the stage from just about anywhere. The sound and lighting were spot on during the show, couldn’t fault it. The staff were lovely and laid-back, making you feel right at home from the get-go. The theatre’s got a charming vibe, and the building itself has a bit of character. If you’re ever in Warrnambool and keen for a top-notch night out, I’d definitely give this place a go.

Came here to watch Belle Theatre’s, Romeo and Juliet. A fantastic show. Theatre staff were friendly and helpful. Best aspect of this wonderful place is its proximity to the famous civic green. To walk out after a fantastic performance and be greeted by the vibrant green of the civic green is truly an extraordinary experience.

We visited the Lighthouse theatre to see Spamalot and had a delightful evening. The comedy show was everything it promised and more. This evening at the theatre was one of the highlights of our stay in Warrnambool.

Have had the pleasure of attending a number of outstanding shows at Lighthouse Theatre and it is an amazing venue. There’s not a bad seat in the house! Great views from everywhere and the new sound system provides great sound regardless of where you are sitting. I have also had the privilege of putting on shows here for a number of years and the staff and crew are always happy and helpful and facilitate an excellent production. The facilities are outstanding. I can’t wait for our next production here!

Only about 4km from Warnambool city area, this is a beautiful place for a visit or a picnic. There are restaurants and takeaway food outlets, along with seating areas and plenty of free parking available here. Lots of people also spend some time trying their luck with fishing around here.

Warrnambool’s Breakwater Rock Pier makes for a pleasant evening hike. The setting sun adds a cinematic feel to the seascape. My favourite spot is the old aquarium domes. It has a sci fi like atmosphere. Do not miss!
Z L — Google review
The Breakwater is a long stretch of wall that forms a barrier against the rugged ocean waves. I thought it looked mighty impressive and have not quite seen one like this before. The pier and anglers are protected behind the Breakwater, and the calm waters provide a contrast to the adjacent breaking waves.
Zeph — Google review
This old break water pier is excellent it is over a 100 years old and once was used for trains onto ships ‘ these days you can only walk up it’ if your lucky you may see a whale or a seal.At the start of the jetty is the old aquarium you can only see the roof domes now’ there are views of the ocean in every direction, if your lucky you will get to see the waves breaking over the wall

Nature & Parks
Gardens
Warrnambool Botanical Gardens, designed by William Guilfoyle, offer a serene and timeless setting for various activities such as weddings, picnics, and guided tours. Spanning 20 acres of lush parkland with native and exotic trees, ferns, and flowers, the gardens also house historic structures like the original sandstone shed used by the first curator.
Great small gardens in the middle of town. Easy parking and several entrances around the fence. Neat and well kept. Nice wide paths meandering around.
Matt B — Google review
The garden was one of the attractions in Warnambool on the drive up to Halls Gap recently in late March. The park is not big but good for a short walk and have lunch outdoors on a beautiful day.
Google L — Google review
During our stay in Warrnambool we decided to take a stroll through the Warrnambool Botanical Gardens, and it was a very pleasant way to spend some time outdoors. While these gardens aren’t as large as the ones you might find in capital cities, they are beautifully designed and well maintained, with plenty to enjoy at a leisurely pace. The gardens feature a number of themed areas with a wide variety of plants, from tall palms and shady gums to flowering garden beds. A picturesque lake sits at the centre, supporting local birdlife including ducks, waterbirds, and even a heron that we spotted during our visit. The lawns are spacious and open, making it easy to relax or enjoy a picnic, and there are benches scattered around for those who just want to sit and take in the scenery. There is a fernery on site, though it was closed for repairs when we visited. Other highlights included a historic band rotunda, heritage-style buildings, and wide pathways perfect for a gentle walk. It took us around 30 minutes to wander through at a relaxed pace, with plenty of opportunities for photography along the way. Set just across the Princes Highway in a quieter part of town and bordered by schools, the gardens feel calm and peaceful. A hidden find well worth visiting if you’re in Warrnambool.
John W — Google review
These botanical gardens are an amazing place to take children to, have a picnic, even hold a birthday party or wedding (yes, I know someone that was married here). Lot's of cool plants with several information signs and maps placed throughout the park. Probably the coolest part is the old well up the top, 18 metres deep. One thing that could be improved are the toilets, they're smelly at best and aren't the nicest experience.
Ladderus — Google review
Beautiful Botanical Gardens with a nice pond with a small mason bridge, rotunda, and a fern house. Sadly, the fern house is closed but can have a look through the doors.
Praloyjit D — Google review
The Botanic Gardens is well-kept and clean. There are a lot of bats! The Gardens is relatively small and has a limited collection of plants. Apart from the bats, the Gardens is a peaceful green, open space away from crowds at the beaches.
Zeph — Google review
I can’t believe this place is real. So beautiful, so peaceful and very well maintained. I’ve never actually used the word ‘tranquil’ before but it’s the only word that describes this place. Nice picnic areas and benches and very clean restrooms. There are fish, ducks and we even saw a little turtle in the pond, and the trees have plaques explaining their origin and purpose.
Jas M — Google review
This is a small garden, very well laid out and maintained, with large, significant trees and sweeping lawns. The path winds past a fountain, historic well, sundial, fernery, rotunda and lake with a bridge. For us, the large, noisey bat colony was particularly fascinating. There is a nature based play space for kids. Public toilets are also available in the fenced garden area. Well worth a visit.

Thank you to Mel and the team for their exceptional service during our stay. We are staying in the brand new 3 bedroom deluxe cabin, which are the nicest I’ve ever been in (and I’ve stayed at a lot of cabins!)! The layout, amenities and park are great. We will definitely return here.

Stayed in the economy pet friendly cabin, was clean however it did not state on website when booking that the bathroom was separate. Shower was so tiny, I'm only 5'2, 50kg and I struggled for room. Pool was absolutely beautiful but spa and sauna didn't work. Reception was so lovely and accommodating.

We had a fantastic stay at BIG4 Tasman Holiday Park! It was perfect for our family getaway. The cabin was clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable, exactly what we needed. The park grounds were tidy and well maintained, and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Our daughter especially loved the heated pool / playground, and we really appreciated how family-friendly the whole place is. There were plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. The location is also ideal, close to the beach, shops, and local attractions. Everything was easy to access, and it felt safe and relaxed throughout our stay. Highly recommend for families looking for a clean, convenient, and fun holiday park. We’ll definitely be back!

Went to this motel thinking a luxury room was good, I was mistaken, when we arrived we were had seen photos of an excellent basketball but we were wrong it had one ring and was not exciting, afterwards the pool area was full of mold. Rust and because the filters weren't working lots of skin flakes, now the rooms where not modern and up to date at all, when I went to the bathroom it felt like I was living in the 1980s shower took me back in time, lastly the beds were uncomfortable and the couch hadn't been cleaned in quite sometime and was stained although area was good with a short walk to shops.

We had a cabin overlooking a rubbish tip next door (see photos). The front door didn't close properly and the wall covering was peeling. We complained but were told they couldn't do anything about it. Basically, we paid a premium ("pet friendly") for substandard accommodation

Proudfoots By The River is a historic dining venue located in an 1885 boathouse by the Hopkins River, offering picturesque river views. The restaurant serves a diverse menu featuring fish, steak, pub classics, and weekend breakfast options. With its heritage charm and unique setting, it provides a memorable dining experience for visitors to Warrnambool.
I was starving so I ordered the Calamari as a entree but it was so good that I regret not getting it as a main. I had the lamb as a main and it was beautiful. It had peas in it which I usually hate but the way they did it with a vinaigrette and fish kick back was amazing. I'm hard to please but this place gets my approval, it's a shame I'll probably never come back as I'm travelling though but I highly recommend anyone with a taste for fine dining try this place out .

Had dinner here recently while in Warrnambool and the staff were very friendly, seating us inside. We ordered the Pan Seared Scallops, Cauliflower Rice and Prosciutto as an entree, the King Prawn Fettuccine and the Market Fish (Barramundi) with Beetroot Blanc - Potato & Beetroot Rosti, Cauliflower Rice and Spinach. The restaurant itself was extremely quiet inside (with no music playing at all) and the tables had paper table cloths so the atmosphere felt odd and a bit awkward for such a restaurant. So after we shared the entree we switched tables to outside and it was a much more pleasant experience. By this stage the mains had arrived and they were absolutely delicious! Amazing produce used and the unique pairing of ingredients shows you that the chef here knows their stuff. Would definitely recommend this restaurant but maybe grab a table outdoors if you can!

Stopped in for lunch after the cold shoulder from my usual stop. Best decision i ever made. Had the garlic bread first then the scollops with burnt butter sauce and cauliflower puree. And omg melt in ur mouth scollops. Wonderful customer service, so polite and considerate of my needs. I can’t wait to drop in to try other stuff on the menu. Thanks for an awesome experience. Was not a huge fan of the dessert I ordered but personal taste. Lovely warm day out on the deck. So relaxing.

Spectacular views of the Hopkins river, sit outside if you can! The food was excellent : the gnocchi and the fish, I'd drive up there from Melbourne just to eat there and soak in the views! The service was great too, and they have a good Merlot. I certainly recommend this place!

Went for a fantastic meal, and got great service. The owner was great with the kids, super flexible, and we had a great time Whilst the BBQ Parma was on the smaller side, they had great portion sizes for the gnocchi, barramundi pie and sticky date pudding. Moyjil, also known as Point Ritchie, is a renowned viewpoint at the mouth of the Hopkins River in Warrnambool. Offering breathtaking views of the Southern Ocean, this site holds significant historical and cultural importance as Moyjil Aboriginal Place. Beautiful spot to soak in the beauty that nature has to offer. A sacred spot to the aboriginal people of the area and I can see why absolutely stunning. It was rainy winter afternoon when I visited but it was still beautiful and then when the sun broke through it illuminated both the river and the ocean waves. Great place to relax and unwind after work

Logans Cafe Restaurant is a popular spot in Warrnambool known for its delicious seafood pasta and chili sauce. The menu caters to dietary restrictions, ensuring that everyone can enjoy their meal. The calamari dishes are particularly noteworthy for being huge, tasty, and filling. Additionally, the restaurant offers a variety of options including crispy southern fried chicken and craft beers. Customers appreciate the efficient service and friendly staff who provide great customer service.
Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. Good quality steak, large entree prawn and mango salad, and an awesome kids pizza for my four year old. I also inhaled the death by chocolate so couldn't take a photo. Thank you very much.

One of my go to eats when in town. Salmon was great, letdown by the prawns. Didn’t seem as fresh as the salmon. More mash, rather than sauce would have been better too. Just returned from Japan…so my expectations are super high. But an overall still a great dish. 😋
Jai L — Google review
We had a great overall experience. We ordered the salmon and Big Boy pasta—both were incredibly delicious with generous portions. The calamari was a bit oily and the mud cake was average, but we really enjoyed the dinner and the ambiance.
Nat O — Google review
Went for a night away with the wife. She chose Logans as the dinner spot. Had been sipping beers and gins since 12 o'clock. Decided to turn Logans into a Tapas bar and just order Entrees, this is the right call. The Entrees are large, tasty and good value. We had the prosciutto pizza, dips, chicken tacos and butter milk chicken as well as 2 delightful cocktails and bought some candles they had on display. The service was great all night, the meals came out quickly and were delightful. Should have looked at the dessert menu but we had too many pints thought out the afternoon. Will go again.

A little pricey for what you get. Stay completely away from the Logan Seafood Catch, you would get better at a takeaway seafood shop in the middle of Australia. The fish, prawn cutlets and scallops were over-battered and I’m talking about the wet kind of batter that’s slimy inside - I thought those days were gone. The oddity of crumbed calamari (the only thing I ate most of), and batter for everything else, just doesn’t work. I left over half of my meal on the plate. The (tartare?!?) sauce was really, just strange, almost like it was just made out of some mayo and mustard and other ingredients - did they run out of tartare? Wasn’t bad, wasn’t good, but was definitely strange in flavour. Maybe I should have went for the steak- it looked better, however that was a little over-done, according to the in-law Prosciutto Pizza was tasty, but only because the tomato-based sauce was fresh. Was the Prosciutto even Prosciutto? Prosciutto should be broken up, not resembling diced up ham strips that you would normally get on a Dominoes pizza. The base of the pizzas was okay, but we all agreed that it could have been brought in a store ready to throw toppings on. Service was efficient, but the waitresses seemed like they were more or less in a hurry and didn’t want to be there. As the bro in-law said; “they could at least smile a bit more”. This is not fine dining if that’s what it’s trying to achieve. There is nothing special about this place. The menu sounds interesting, but you will be disappointed. Over-reaching is an understatement in this case. Much like a discontinued Ford Taurus, wanting to be a 2022 Ford Mustang GT. Not letting the Bro in-law choose where we eating next time. He’s banned 😉

We had a lovely evening on Wednesday night! The food was amazing . The service was fantastic friendly, attentive, and made us feel so welcome. Overall, it was a great evening, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

The cocktails, food, and desserts at this restaurant are all delicious. However, the female server repeatedly approached our table with an unsettling frequency to ask if we needed more drinks—even though I still had half a glass left. At one point, she almost took away my plate while there was still food on it—she had already stacked another plate on top of mine. Although the food is great and this was my second visit, I've been made uncomfortable by the same female server on both occasions, and it might be enough to make me hesitate on a third visit. Aside from this one server, the rest of the staff were all very pleasant and professional.
Jocelyn Y — Google review
Can never go wrong with their seafood pasta. It's what I always order with a side of the chili sauce. The king prawns were not included in the dish. But they forgot one of the orders for the salmon to exclude the prawns so I took them instead. Also loved the dips entree. Have tried the pacific chicken but they were just too plain and too little for the price. There was nothing special. The dipping sauce was just a watered down Indonesian sweet soy sauce (kecap manis). All the cocktails we have tried were great. My fave would be the peppermint crisp.

Fishtales Cafe in Warrnambool is a popular spot known for its all-day breakfast menu, opening as early as 5:30 am. The cafe offers a wide variety of breakfast options, from avocado and muesli to sausages and hashbrowns. The head chef, Mr Bundara, started as a dishwasher at the cafe and later trained there as an apprentice. Visitors praise the delicious food, friendly staff, and great location.
We stopped here for breakfast and we knew we must have been on a winner when we saw how busy it was. Plenty of seating, so no problem there. The servers greeted us straight away, directed us to a table and brought complimentary table water. Our coffees came out in no time, hot and delicious. Our meals were so big we thought we might have to consider taking some away with us. My husband had the monster breakfast and I had pancakes with bacon ,scrambled eggs and maple syrup. My bacon was slightly charred but that didn't detract from how amazing the meals were. There was a real buzz of activity and everyone around us seemed to be enjoying their meals too. The breakfast wraps at the table next us also looked incredible. To top it off the prices were great, we had a meal in Port Campbell that cost almost double and the meals were no where near as good. Good job Fishtales Cafe!!

Extremely disappointed!!! Lunch with my daughter. I ordered flake and chips she ordered double cheeseburger with a side of chips. Meals were average. Chips were almost non existent. See photos. It looked like they were at the bottom of the chip barrel and split what was left between us, instead of cooking more. Photo 2: lifted fish to look for chips. Photo 3: daughter had just picked up burger. Only when we went to pay did we read on a small sign stuck to the counter that we had to pay an extra 15% due to it being a public holiday (they never verbally mentioned this at any stage before ordering, while ordering or at checkout). 😡😡

Had my breakfast here during my visit to Warrnambool, Victoria, and it was such a great experience! I ordered pancakes, a milkshake, and one battered fish — everything was absolutely delicious and full of flavour. 😋 The place has plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors, with options at the front and back. Inside, the vintage vibes really stood out — the peeling walls actually add to the aesthetic, giving it a cozy, nostalgic charm. A lovely spot to relax and enjoy a meal!

Fishtales was a fabulous find for a meal at any time of the day. Cooked to perfection, big country serves, happy staff, tables outside, inside and further inside. But a suggestion to the owner, make it more appealing to the passing trade. Add a big “Cafe” sign to the front door and/or windows and do something to the empty front space, left of the front door. Maybe add a pretty table and chairs there but definitely add “Cafe” to that window. Otherwise, most definitely recommend for the food, staff and atmosphere.

Great Cafe, clean with indoor, rear courtyard and front footpath tables (which is a good pet friendly option). Service was fast & friendly, food (fish) cooked to perfection. Chips were well drained and golden brown in a side serve bowl. Beaut iced coffee and coke was in a glass bottle!! Only get plastic in NSW. Really reasonable prices - would recommend. Thanks Fishtales.

We had a great meal at the Bowls Club. Food was excellent with plenty of choices. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

I recently attended an event at this venue with my surf club, and I couldn’t be more impressed! We had a group of 88 people, and the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure everyone felt at home. We also noticed another event happening in a separate room for an 18th birthday, and it was great to see how well the team managed both occasions seamlessly. The meals were absolutely fantastic! Not only were they delicious, but they were also well-priced, making it easy to enjoy without breaking the bank. I highly recommend this place for any gathering or event.

I order VEGETARIAN wrap and there was training girl who start making my order and she was doing good but the girl who was giving training to new staff, she used same gloves which she used to touch beef for prior order and mine veg order, which i really dont like it and this is called cross contamination if they know. If she dont know the kitchen rules how can she train someone. They should change the gloves specially non veg to veg. Really disappointed.

Seems like employees here are not get paid, I was calling for 2-3 times at 8:30 pm today to order over call, but they didn’t even pickup the call. I wanted to pickup at 8:55. When I reached there that time they already closed.

No point using the app to order ahead. Every time I have arrived at the stated pick up time I have been told that my order has either not even been started or only just started. The whole idea of ordering ahead is to skip the 5-10 minute wait in store. Staff need to get better at monitoring the online orders but I think there is a distinct lack of supervision & lots of 15-17 year olds working here who honestly probably don’t get paid enough to care.

I ordered a foot long and it came to not even rapped properly and there usually wrapped with a white sheet as-well. It was just sat in the wrapping and folded over that’s it.

Just want to say what a delight it was purchasing at this store just a few minutes ago. It was extremely clean and I was served by Johnno. I was very impressed with his attention to detail, customer service, and food handling skill. He expertly greeted me when I entered the store and was able to build a rapport with me as a customer while maintaining a professional practice. This was a mood lifting experience which is something I appreciate as a customer with a busy an stressful life. Definitely an asset to the company. He also informed me of how good his employers were and I responded by saying that it shows because of how friendly all of the staff are at this store and the level of cleanliness that is always present at this location.
