FAR exceeded my expectations!! Had a gorgeous oyster mornay starter followed by a deliciously addictive prawn ravioli, both from the specials list… the sauce was so good I almost licked the plate clean!!

Beautiful meal and warm service. The restaurant overlooks the river and there is an amazing war memorial museum which is full of history. Both levels are wheelchair accessible, parking available on-site and in surrounding area. Keep an eye on their website for upcoming live music events!

What a fantastic dinner we had with the atmosphere and the live music. The staff from the start to finish were the best and the food some of the best food that we have had in a long time. I highly recommend dining here.

Great venue food very good.had mothers day there and the club was full,we didn't wait to long for our meals so we'll done to the chefs and staff.staff very helpful and friendly. Prices very good as well.would recommend.

Haven't been here in a long time. Staff at the front desk extremely friendly and welcoming and also the staff in the restaurant. Fishermen's Basket was enjoyed by the family that had it. My sirloin steak was cooked perfectly most of the vegies was great except for the potato. What a disappointment being Deb potato it was horrible if you are serving vegies you can at least use real potato. For a club of this size the menu selection is very poor no kids menu and only couple of seniors meals to pick from menu. For us as a family we won't be back and won't recommend this club. Thank you for the staff being super at everything they do.

Absolutely not for veterans or their families — more like a small casino with an ANZAC logo out front. No ramp from the car park for a pram. No parents’ room. No sense of purpose. Just pokie lights, noise, and money changing hands. Membership isn’t free for veterans — even those of us who served, were injured, and live with permanent disabilities because of that service. You’d think the least they could do is acknowledge the people this organisation was founded for. When I went in with my family for lunch, the staff at the front counter made us feel like we were in the way — like we didn’t belong there. That moment summed up the whole experience. There was no recognition, no gratitude, and no connection to the spirit of service this place is supposed to represent. Just profit, poker machines, and a forgotten purpose. As a veteran, it honestly breaks my heart to see what the RSL has become. A brand built on the backs of those who served, now completely detached from its meaning and its name.

Great customer service, very friendly & overall great experience. If they make a mistake, they’re always happy to fix. Great food, yummy chocolate milkshakes, yummy hot chocolate drinks & great raffles. Nice river view.

Travelling through the Northern Rivers region and exploring various establishments for food and drinks, the Henry Rous Tavern stood out as a remarkable pub. The meals offered here surpassed all expectations, with delectable dishes such as BBQ ribs accompanied by chips and salad, as well as a mouth-watering rump steak. These culinary creations truly ranked among some of the best pub meals ever tasted. Credit must be given to the talented chef behind these delightful experiences.
Steve Smith the head chef delivered me and my partner the best seafood platter we have ever eaten, amazing flavours, amazing presentation, food made with actual pride, highest quality of seafood and the staff to match, will be back every holiday.

Delicious meals here every time . We had dinner twice and a lunch while staying in Ballina and it is the first place we go to when we get there. The steaks were bang on med rare , the pepper sauce is really good! Had the Australian seafood cocktail for Easter ( not religious but always a good excuse!) I would leave the cave and reappear to have this ! Great specials and value for money on certain days , wish we had a Henry’s in WA .

We had just driven up from Coffs Harbour and checked into our hotel. We quickly decided to head out and have something to eat. With the time we headed out, we decided on a pub meal and Henry's was it. I ordered my meal and the wife only wanted a coffee and dessert. My chicken Parma was nice but the chips were not the best. The oil should have been changed to make these chips crunchy as they were a bit dry. It was bingo night so it was good to hear all the questions that were being asked. We would have gotten quite a few questions correct if we played.
Nick Z — Google review
Good food good wait times usual for being the only ones in there just above average pub experience

Had a fantastic experience when visiting from Adelaide for a family birthday/ reunion. This is mostly because of the customer service of Katy-7/8/2025. Every other bar attendant in the town needs to take a lesson from Katy on how Customer Service is done. 👌Above and beyond service, smiles laughs and work attitude that’s hard to find these days. The food also hard to beat with a very good steak and squid that was superbly tender. Great staff- food- atmosphere. 10/10

Incredible pub dining experience. The meals were a step above Melbourne pub meals in quality and flavour and options.

Cafe
The Wharf Bar & Restaurant in Ballina is a versatile establishment that transforms from a cozy riverfront cafe during the day to a stunning sunset restaurant at night. Its open-plan dining area takes full advantage of the breathtaking Richmond River backdrop, offering one of Australia's most spectacular sunsets. The restaurant prides itself on using locally sourced seafood and fresh farmed vegetables, making it a popular choice for both visitors and locals alike.
We walked past Wharf Bar on Sunday afternoon when we first arrived in Ballina. The place was absolutely buzzing, not surprising given it was the Easter long weekend, so we decided to come back another night as there was no space for us and our five-month-old baby. Fast forward to tonight, and we finally got to try it out. It was still busy, which is always a good sign, and while the food took a little longer than expected to arrive, that is totally understandable with the crowd. When you have a bub who is getting tired and ready for bed, a few extra minutes can feel like forever, but honestly, it was well worth the wait. We ordered two dishes from their Tuesday specials, the mussels and the fish and chips, and both were absolutely spot on. The mussels were fresh and flavourful with a generous portion of bread to soak up the broth, and the fish and chips were solid. The portion sizes were generous, especially considering the price. Great value for money. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming, with stunning views over the water and a relaxed vibe that made it easy to unwind, even with a baby in tow. The staff were friendly and accommodating, especially the maître d’, who really went out of his way to give us a nice seat with a view of the sunset. Overall, we really enjoyed our night out at Wharf Bar. It is a great spot for couples, families, or anyone looking to enjoy a solid meal with a beautiful view and good service. We will definitely be back for a drink next time we’re in town!

We are a family of 3 travelling from Bengaluru, India with our local friends (9 no.s in total). We stopped for lunch on the way from Bexhill, Killen Falls and Sharpes Beach before heading back to Bexhill. · 7 Mile Beer Battered Fish & Chips – the fish was fresh and crispy to perfection. · Asahi beer – The schooner was served cold and was most welcome and delicious on a hot day! · Vegetariana pizza – the wood-fired pizza was served hot and straight from the oven, and the taste didn’t disappoint. It had generous amounts of olive oil. · Hot chocolate – was not that hot; could have been served even hotter. · Marinated Spring Lamb Cutlets – the lamb was cooked to perfection. · Kids Pasta with Napoli Sauce & Cheese – the kids loved the taste. · Potato Chips with aioli sauce – the aioli dip sauce was fresh with a just the right hint of garlic and tasted great. Overall, excellent taste and generous amounts. We will definitely come again someday soon.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ballina Wharf, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was stunning, with breathtaking views of the river that made the experience even more special. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend trying their seafood platter and wood-fired pizza. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a night out with friends. Overall, I give Ballina Wharf 5 stars – it's a must-visit spot in Ballina!

Lovely restaurant on the river in Ballina town. Lots of tables inside and out and of a generous size, this is a very comfortable place. This is my first time since it changed hands. We were greeted with another customers pizzas passing us as we were sitting so knew we'd have to try one! (You can watch the pizza chef in action too). Fabulous menu with lots of seafood dishes. Staff were lovely and friendly and the food came out all hot and smelling amazing! The waitress topped up our water while we were there and checked if we wanted anything else making it a seamless experience.

We had the Autumn special to share - a 5 course meal that was the best of the best seafood - local, fresh, cooked to perfection. All of the food was outstanding. Incredible value for money. The service was wonderful - staff friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Thanks for finishing off an awesome whale watching day for us 🙏and special sunset included

Great open space bar/restaurant overlooking Ballina river. Best time to visit is around sunset for beautiful outlook on the water. The seafood grill platter was great and highly recommended. The burger was just average. Nice place to spend an evening in great ambience and casual dining.

Their kids pizza bigger than we expected it would be. We ordered another 2 fish and chips. Been given someone else's orders, and waited quite awhile for the food to be ready. But the food tasted good and also good portion so it was worth it. Great location and atmosphere.

Stunning food, staff and setting. We came back a 2nd night. Best fish and pizza we've had. The seafood mixed grill and seafood linguine were so fresh and succulent. The kids loved the cocktails too. Absolutely recommend. We'll be back...

Great atmosphere on a Saturday night with a band playing live music and lots of people getting into the dancing! There is a huge selection of food, including all the pub classics, that are warming and tasty;. The kitchen was accommodating to modifications, allowing chips to be changed to salad with the burger.

We were in a large group, so our seating was outside, I don’t recall there being heating. Our meals were prepared for us. Basic chicken, steak, coleslaw, vegetables. Our meal was served on paper plates and disposable cutlery which could not cut up the steak with the knife!! I had an allergy and they accommodated me with a separate salad. The food was OK, but wasn’t of the same standard as people who ordered off the menu (who we stole their knifes from!).

Just now dinning for lunch. The flavour of the 3 pizzas was very nice but the pizza dough could be cooked a bit longer very doughy. Very disappointed. On the pepperoni could of had more onion on it ham and pineapple pizza was good. BBQ chicken meat lovers was ok. Will come back but definitely not ordering the pizzas.

I found this place rough, being in a large group, we sat out the back, our meals were all sorted and prepared for us. Basic chicken, steak, coleslaw, roasted capsicum, pumpkin bits and pasta.Served on paper plates and disposable cutlery, could not cut up the steak with the knife. Not a place I would choose to hold a group gathering, catering was terrible. My dog would not eat that food.

On the day I was there for dinner, I found my meal was a bit stuff, my wife had the same problem. Other than that the staff were great. I did notice the two poor bar staff were trying to serve everyone while three other staff members were standing looking at the two trying to serve the ever growing number in the line and having a good laugh

Absolutely fantastic steak. Lost a star because our table was near the kitchen and the noise was over the top. I'm sure they were throwing the cookware about.

Noodles in the laksa a tad undercooked and the serve is too big! Number of prawns is perfect but the bowl and noodles are too plentiful. Prices for beer ok but wine and sparkling a bit over the top unless you pay members price. Steak was good! Cooked to expectation.

Movie theater
If you're looking for a fantastic movie experience, look no further than the Palace - Ballina Fair Cinemas. This contemporary theater offers the latest 2D and 3D blockbuster films, all set in a surround-sound environment that enhances your viewing pleasure. Located conveniently next to Ballina Fair's outdoor food piazza, you can easily enjoy a delicious meal before or after your film.
I just wanted to say to the staff here I am so sorry that a rude lady yelled your team in cinema one today when you had to pause the adds for a moment while processing the customers on an extremely busy Saturday session. We went to watch Lilo and Stitch. Your team were calmly explaining that the movie would still start at 12.40 pm and that you were just pausing while trying to seat people in the cinema. Your team then had to cop and earful of abuse from this lady. The cinema was clearly pretty full, we had to wriggle up to fit everone in. This was not your teams fault. If you are the owner of this cinema you should be proud of your staff, the rude customer was absolutely out of line horribly impatient and entitled. Your staff did not deserve her awful behaviour and to the young person she yelled at I am so sorry. You handled the situation so well and did not deserve her abuse. We will come back and support you. My Daughter and I had a great experience at your cinema. That angry lady can go suck on a bag of lemons. I was appauled by her rudeness. I have rated you 5 stars. Check in on your team that were on the midday shift 31.05.25 and tell them that they did amazing well under the circumstances and that I am really proud of them for all their hard work and pleasant customer service. Kind regards
Rachael S — Google review
Bit pricey, cinema seats are old school and no buttery popcorn. I asked for butter with popcorn as it was dry and tasteless , staff mentioned they don't do buttery popcorn. Only offer as is or option of drizzle of olive oil with salt. Please bring back buttery popcorn! I enjoy the convenience of having Ballina cinema close by as Lismore isn't yet open but when I'm able to purchase tickets for a family of 4 with kids cheaper at Tweed with more comfortable seating and buttery popcorn I'm happy to drive there instead

Rang them up to see if they where going to have the 50 year anniversary of Jaws, the lady said, no because they only have two screens. That's a big fat lie. I know they have three. The main one and two smaller ones to the left as you walk in. With that attitude, I want be in a hurry to go back to spend money. They will be at least be losing around 30 to 35 dollars from me.
Yellow S — Google review
First experience in this Cinema was a quiet one, walked in as the first people there with at most 10 others walking in. The movie theatre was massive, however the chairs were far too cramped. Being a little above average in weight, i found i had to actually squeeze in to fit the chair, not to mention there is absolutely no breathing room if someone sits right next to you. The chairs themselves werent uncomfortable per say but i wouldnt say they were incredibly comfortable either. In an age where reclining chairs and more space are becoming the norm, this cinema needs to get with the times. The best thing about this cinema is the audio, it boast a directional surround sound audio that fooled me into thinking there were people talking next to me however it was ambient chatter in the film, very well done! Popcorn is different to most cinema, they pride themselves on the "cooked in olive oil" niche. Does it make a difference? Yes: the popcorn gives a better feeling when you eat, almost a healthy feeling. Whilst lacking in salt and butter it grew on me very quickly and very strongly. At this point im almost considering driving the extra 40 minutes to see a movie at Hoyts in tweed city next time.
Robert V — Google review
Amazing screening of A Minecraft Movie. We went to see the Minecraft Movie, prefect. 👍 This was a great movie opportunity. The Movie theatre didn’t go crazy when it said “Chicken Jocky” unlike other places. And the police didn’t need to be called. This is not the first time that this 5 Star experience happened.

I have been going to Ballina Fair Cinema since it opened and have never had a bad experience until I went to see Priscilla on Australia Day. I had bought my tickets online and on arrival at the 4:10pm session, I lined up at Cinema 2 in order to get a good seat. Cinema 2 is just near where the female toilets are, and from where I was standing - fifth in line - the toilets reeked of urine. I had my phone ready to show the usher our tickets, but not one person was checked for tickets. I think I will tell all my friends now not to bother paying for a ticket because the staff do not bother to check. Once the doors opened to the cinema at the advertised time of 4:10 pm, there followed 20 minutes of advertising with only 2 movie previews. I do not pay $20 a ticket to watch 20 minutes of advertisements! Furthermore, the session was constantly interrupted by people who weren’t even meant to be in that cinema, opening the door and then realising it was the wrong cinema and then walking out, noisily shutting the doors. One mother and her 3 children walked in 15 minutes before the movie finished, sat down the front and after the credits rolled and people were leaving she’d moved herself and her children to better seats at the back - clearly waiting for the next movie - Mean Girls - to play. I paid good money to see a film for the cinema experience. Clearly, this was not a cinema experience with constant interruptions by poorly managed patrons. I believe the management needed to provide a more professional service. It was very disappointing to see the decline in standards and management, and I do hope that somebody rectifies it.

The Big Prawn, a 33-foot-tall fiberglass sculpture, has been an iconic roadside attraction in Ballina since its construction in 1989. This beloved Aussie landmark is a popular spot for selfies and offers visitors the chance to grab a bite at the on-site cafe and pick up souvenirs at the gift shop.
Don't come with any expectations and you will not be disappointed. It's a big shrimp off a DIY store car park. There is no sea food store there. Just the big fibreglass crustacean- like a scene out of MiB. We spent more time contemplating why it is there than the 4 min to take the obligatory selfie. Is it because Ballina has nothing to draw people off the highway? Is it because the shrimp in Ballina are huge? (Check out the fisherman's coop 2 min drive down the road for best cooked giant shrimp). Or is it to ward off evil oceanic spirits? More questions than answers. Finally, the door within the shrimp- what lurks behind there?

This is definitely worth a visit if you are driving along the pacific highway/east coast. We stopped by here during our road trip from QLD to Melbourne and took some pictures. This attraction would be great fun especially for the kids. There is plenty of free parking available at bunnings car park.

We stopped by the Big Prawn in Ballina for some classic touristy photos. There’s no specific parking, but we just pulled into the Bunnings car park (no tickets required). We rode past on the weekend but it was packed, so we came back early Monday morning when it was quiet and managed to get a great spot for photos.
Tarlie B — Google review
Easy parking. My eldest asked if they have a "Big BBQ" to go with the prawn, you could just pop in to bunnings to grab one while you're there.
Eichelle A — Google review
Biggest prawn I've seen (so far). While standing in the Bunnings parking lot admiring the craftsmanship of this large crustacean, it began to thunder. That quickly, our admiration became tinged with fear. What other weather events might the Big Prawn conjure? Flash floods? Acid rain? Stop and see Him if you're in the neighborhood, but do so with the respect and appreciation He deserves. Only 4 stars because it could be bigger.
K J — Google review
Big and funny prawn that is worth a quick stop if you are driving by or during a long road trip. Lots of free parking at Bunnings and you can go for a toilet break nearby at Faulks Reserve (the toilet opens from 6am-6pm). Definitely drop by if you get the chance and snap a pic or get a good laugh. Just make sure you don't get run over by cars while you are admiring this comically large prawn!

Not much to say other than I’m blown away. The big prawn thoroughly exceeds expectations both in size and grandeur.

The first time we went to this place was so great experience, the food was lovely and tasty and because we usually ask our order to be mildl hot only they accomodate it and my wife was really happy and so we went back this evening and order the same dish and requested to be mild. Dish comes in but not the same as last time. It was on a different plate and no garnished cream unlike the first time we went. We taste it, it was very hot and my wife have to drink water after every spoon she will have, I even ask for a coconut cream to lessen the chilli hot taste of the dish but still very hot for her so I ask her to have the stir fry noodle that I ordered. It looks like this is the last time that we will dine in this restaurant. I think they have to be consistent on their dish. I have attached the difference of the first time and tonight’s dish that we order.
Jayson L — Google review
First time coming here today and I ordered the stir-fried seafood with rice very disappointed. The rice was so tough I couldn’t even swallow it. I had to call them and ask for a replacement with freshly cooked rice, which they brought quickly, but I still felt disrespected. Why serve such rice in the first place? It felt like leftover rice from the fridge, reheated in the microwave, and they thought it was acceptable to serve to customers. Honestly, it was disappointing and disrespectful.

Believe it or not I’m a local who hasn’t ever been to this restaurant, in fact I’m not a huge Thai fan…until now. Omg this food was amazing and I mean amazing. Cooked very well, vegetables not over or under cooked, prawns tender & the sauce was so tasty. The staff were so friendly & even though it was busy we got our food quickly. I will definitely be going back to this restaurant 😊

My partner and I are here in Ballina for a little camping get away. We eat Thai food every weekend, we decided to try Thai By Night as their reviews were incredible. My partner ordered the crispy pork and chilli jam. I ordered the beef basil stir fry (medium spicy). We got a coconut rice to share. Our meal costed $56. The young man that took our order didn’t look super stoked to be there and the customer service wasn’t epic. After he took our payment he let us know “there will be a little bit of a wait”. The venue wasn’t booked out, but they did have a few phone orders placed. A table of 4 ordered right before us. We didn’t mind waiting, but we mistook “little bit of a wait” quite literally. We waited for 55 minutes for our food. We sat waiting outside for about 30 minutes but realised the names weren’t getting called out so we sat inside just to make sure we wouldn’t miss our food. We realised after about 40 minutes the table that had ordered just before us had received their food, eaten and already left… We didn’t want to feel like we were rushing the staff but after 50 minutes we were starting to feel as if our food might’ve been misplaced as there was no communication on how much longer or how long exactly the wait was going to be. I walked up after 55 minutes of waiting trying to be as kind as possible to see how much longer our food was going to be and the young man who served us handed me our food. We got our food takeaway. We both felt our food wasn’t amazing. The basil beef stir fry “medium-hot spicy” had no spice at all. The beef was extremely fatty. The flavour of the meal was overall extremely average. The crispy pork texture of the vegetables was rubbery. The pork was soggy (not crispy at all). The chilli “jam” was more of a liquid/sauce rather than a jam, which made the pork soggy. Flavour of the meal however was nice. Coconut rice The coconut rice was soggy, more of a porridge consistency rather than rice. Flavour wasn’t poor, slightly a bit too sweet. The overall portion sizes however were great! The kitchen staff looked really happy and were lovely to the customers whenever they came out through the venue. We don’t like being rude customers so we tried to be as lovely and respectful as possible regardless of the wait time. Our food was a little bit of a letdown for the price, we probably wouldn’t be as harsh if the food didn’t cost so much, but for premium prices and great reviews it was a let down.

From hand-made corn and flour tortillas to vibrant salads and succulent seafood, every bite bursts with flavor. The best Mexican tacos we have had in Australia :) The food was fresh and homemade, with incredible flavors in every bite. Bob is fantastic—he helped us pick dishes, offered df/gf options and recommended the perfect level of spiciness for each taco. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this spot for anyone craving authentic tacos!

100% satisfation! On our very first dining experience at Bob's Tacos on Saturday 10th May 2025 I was very impressed with the quaint little Taco store that cooks fresh delicious healthy meals.I noted there was an eclectic mix of diners from families with children, couples or people by themselves and it felt so cute and cosy. As I was in Ballina (I dont live in Ballina I live an hour away) for a Naturopath/Nutritionist appointment and I wasn't well and needed to eat and it was after 2pm and most of the other healthier option cafes I normally dine at were closed and my Naturopath said go to TACO BOB and I was like who? She said BOBS and I was like never heard of it and she gave me directions to find it and she prescribed for my ill health at the time to go see Bob tell him to make you a fish taco and I will be honest I have NEVER had a fish taco in my life the mere thought was GROSS and I did as I was told for my ill health and WOW!!! Not only was the professional young man on the counter so friendly, efficient and professional but Bob and his front counter young man went out of their way to ensure Bob made my taco correct to meet my medical requirements and this BLEW MY MIND! Bob didnt have to care about my health but he did and this has made a lasting impact on me I WILL BE BACK my husband and I WILL BE BACK! For the record Bob made me a flat head fish taco and I LOVED IT!!! So there you go never say never to trying something you have never had before. Bob's Tacos is a little hidden gem hiding down an arcade alleyway off River St Ballina GO CHECK IT OUT! We sat outside in the cool breeze so I dont know if this would fall under DOG friendly cafes? as the seating was outside ? Just a thought for those travelling or visiting Ballina with dogs? See you next time Bob and your very friendly young gentleman on the front counter!

Walked in as the only people in the restaurant (should of been way busier) food was ready in "fast food time" good portions fair price excellent atmosphere and service everyone had a wonderful experience staff so welcoming it should of been packed 10/5 if I could

Probably one of the best burritos I have ever had. The thing was huge and tasted amazing! My only criticism of this place is that they serve the food on disposable plates with that crappy disposable cutlery which I find hard to cut a burrito with. I was going to give 4 stars because of this factor however, the lovely female staff member found me a proper set of cutlery to use from out the back. I raised this fact with owner ‘Bob’ and was told that it wasn’t possible. I’d suggest a sink with dishwashing liquid and a dish rack? Other than that I can’t fault this place!!!

Pizza restaurant
If you find yourself in Ballina, make sure to stop by Raamons Pizza for a delightful culinary experience. This charming pizzeria is known for its exceptional service and mouthwatering pizzas that will leave you craving more. One customer shared a story of how they received the wrong order but were pleasantly surprised when the driver promptly returned with the correct pizza at no extra charge—now that's what we call old-fashioned hospitality!
How do they get that crust so fresh and crispy!?! Yum. Had a large meatlovers and a garlic pizza bread, so so good. And super friendly service - great music too! Will definitely be back here for my next pizza fix.
Lisa — Google review
After a long drive and setting up camp, we ended up here after sifting through local reviews. We ordered a small garlic and cheese pizza, and a family-sized half 'n half. We didn't really do anything to deserve it, but this pizza felt like a reward for some noble deed. Once we started, we couldn't stop. No photos - the pizza was so good we forgot anything else existed.

Im lucky enough to live in Ballina, were you can get the best pizza. It may be twice the price as the popular commercial shops, but its actually 3 times the weight thats not full of dough but real product and actually use REAL cheese All locals know were to go. So this is for visiting people to Ballina

The boys here are amazing. Their service is amazing and making amazing pizzas. Myself and some mates came as they were closing and they still stayed open after washing up to make us our pizzas. 10/10 would recommend
Samuel G — Google review
Very helpful, friendly, efficient staff. The large Super Special came with ample tasty fresh toppings, with small prawns plentiful. The thin base had a very subtle sauce that added deliciousness without being " in your face." Small parts of the mostly crisp base became a little soggy due to the amount of fresh toppings, but this wasn't unpleasant because the flavours had soaked in. Gluten-free bases are available, and ALL ingredients are also. Care is taken when making GF to ensure there's no cross contamination. There's 3 sizes. With Large being 12" and in the middle. The Super Special was $33 which is at the top end, but this isn't your "small black blocks with white dots " franchise pizza either. Prices vary with each pizza and toppings can be added or left off, so you can design your own if you wish. It's definitely my choice of pizza in Ballina.

My friend and I got pizza last night for our night out and were served by Chris. He promised us it would be the pizza we ever had and he did not disappoint! 🤤 10/10! Best pizza, best service and best backflips 🤩

Finally decided to try a pizza from here after seeing it recommended all over fb. Loved it. Pizzas are made in front of you by the person taking your order. Pizza was not oily, good crisp on crust & base without being soggy, able to hold it in one hand and not have it slop everywhere. Tasted almost like a sourdough base. Really happy with it and would get again. ☺️

Fried chicken takeaway
KFC Ballina is a standout location along the eastern seaboard, renowned for its delicious buckets of fried chicken and combo meals. This restaurant consistently impresses with its quick and friendly service, ensuring that every order is prepared to perfection. The staff here take great pride in their work, creating a welcoming atmosphere where customers can enjoy fresh and crispy chicken. The drive-thru operates efficiently, making it an ideal stop for those on the go.
Amazing refurb, this place had a lot of nature inside, a better place than the previous design. We used the ordering machines today. The Original Crispy Burger was delicious. My new favourite KFC.
LW — Google review
KFC Ballina has really impressed me. The team here are always upbeat and provide quick, friendly service. My order is prepared correctly every time and the chicken is always crispy and fresh. The drive-thru moves faster than most other stores I’ve been to, and the restaurant itself is tidy and well looked after. It’s clear the staff take pride in what they do, definitely my go-to spot whenever I’m passing through Ballina.

Always a great experience at KFC Ballina. The food is consistently fresh, hot, and comes out quickly even when it’s busy. Staff are friendly, polite, and keep the place running smoothly. The store is clean and well presented, and I’ve never had an issue with my order. Easily one of the better KFC stores I’ve been to, definitely worth stopping in if you’re in the area.

Walked in and the place was disgusting. Rubbish bags on the floor, food smeared across the floor and the rubbish bins were over flowing. When someone spoke to staff about this the staff member shook his head and giggled then walked away. While standing and waiting for my food we could hear staff complaining/yelling at each other about cleaning the restaurant. At least three staff members were wearing AirPods while working as well. Overall a very disappointing experience I hope KFC Ballina can improve its quality

I love a bit of dirty bird. But the Ballina one is next level bad. The oil must be about 2 years old because the food is inedible. We drive the extra distance to Lismore because it’s so much better. Thought i’d give it another go tonight. Filthy old oil. Had to throw the chips out they were that bad.
Casey B — Google review
I've only ever used the drive thru service, it is what it is, service is quick and efficient. I have not as yet had any issues or reason to complain.

Worst KFC I’ve been too Staff arguing loud in back and swearing at each other and people on serving orders having no idea what they are doing. I ordered 20 minutes ago and I’m still here. Completely unorganised
Daniel P — Google review
Possibly the finest KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN establishment on the eastern seaboard. Quite frankly, give this franchise a bonus! Food is consistently served hot and the kids who are on chip salting duty are earning reaching stretch targets with flair…PERFECTAMUNDO! Our burgers look like advertisement burgers- none of the expected millenial/alpha disregard for tradition and hard work. I taste zero entitlement and I am grateful for the excellent service here. Management should be genuinely proud and congratulated. Keep doing you KFC BALLINA!

Nice little shopping complex with everything you might need. Only thing I'd ask the managment to consider is more parking for parents with prams. There's 3 spots near Big W/IGA but nothing near Coles/Kmart or Woolworths side.

Very neat Ballina Fair with considerable undercover parking outside sun shade style. Excellent Woolworths Supermarketg that has never let me down along with a couple of good coffee shop outlets and good mix of specialty shops as well

Just another shopping mall really. Nothing to write home about. I checked out TK Maxx just bcoz it sounded like TJ Maxx in America (where i grew up) which was a great store with cool clothing at awesome prices. Well this one granted had coll clothing but the prices were ridiculous. Oh well , nevermind.
Jonny L — Google review
Followed signs to try to find a taxi rank - ended up using the Woolworths click and collect, after asking 3 different centre staff. There was a Wizarding area but it was not active on a school holiday when I checked in the morning, just before midday and then at 3:30pm, with numerous children in the centre. Guess I just missed it. No attractive art installations, lighting or colour to speak of. Very bland white and cream. Quite good indoor/outdoor space under cover with “outdoor” shops and restaurants. Nice feel to it! Gloria Jeans and Thai restaurant (outside) staff both very friendly and accommodating. Witnessed inclusive attitudes and behaviours and allowances for mobility and different levels of proprioception.

Fawcett Park is a fantastic location to witness the mesmerizing sunsets. Indulging in the delectable fish and chips from the exceptional "a fish shop called dory" is highly recommended. As you await the setting sun, enjoy a delightful afternoon snack. Although not overly picturesque during daylight hours, it transforms into a pleasant sight at sunset. This charming park offers all the necessary amenities including a playground, barbecue area, and restrooms.
Great place to watch the sun set. We got some fish and chips from the amazing "a fish shop called dory" (you must go) and ate our afternoon snack whilst waiting for the sun to set. Not very scenic during the day, but nice at sunset

The Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum, situated in Regatta Avenue behind the Visitor Information Centre, is renowned for its main exhibit - Las Balsas, a 12-meter long balsa wood raft that completed a remarkable 178-day journey across the Pacific from Ecuador to Ballina.
Loved this naval museum. It's full of great little to big things, mostly boats and ships. I had a good read of the Ballina history, and it's very interesting. My little family enjoyed our weekend visit here.

We visited in the school holidays with our 3 kids. Ranging from 12yo-1yo. So much to see and look at. Also some interactive exhibits from scavenger hunts, knot tying and ship steering wheels and horns. You could easily spend an entire day in there just reading and learning but the bonus is it kept my kids captivated looking at all the model ships and a torpedo. So much history - we loved it.

An amazing and well curated museum. Well worth the $5 entry. Kept us busy on a rainy day. We will definately be going back again.

What a fabulous place! Even if you aren't into maritime, you will find it fascinating and learn lots. They cater for kids too, with a fact finding mission. So much history, displayed so well. You could easily spend several hours there, as there is so much to read and see. Congratulations to the volunteers who keep this place running. It's a credit to you.

Was just circling around the town and realised there is a museum around. 5 dollar entry... It's better to have cash in hand... They have a great collection of naval vessels models and useful trivia about it. A lot of captured vessels and their info too. It's definitely worth a visit.

Wow! What an amazing place to take kids to learn about all kinds of floating sea and river going vessels. My three year old grandson ate this place up! Needs repeat visits to fully absorb all there is to see. We lived all the boat models and pirate info. We will be back and at $3 entry fee it’s a great place to go on a rainy day. Some very cool & reasonably priced souvenirs are also available to buy to remember your visit. 5 stars!!
Jeanne G — Google review
We have a great time at the museum. The staff were so welcoming and friendly, and the scavenger hunt was really fun. There were loads to look at and the boats were very detailed. We got to hold different shells and seahorses for finishing the scavenger hunt. I would definitely recommend this place. We didn't even have to wait, and the entrance fee was very cheap. It was quite cool in the museum, and we could see the ship's cabin in the olden days. It was really fun, and we hope to come back.

Whether you're looking to purchase fresh seafood or indulge in ready-to-eat dishes like fish and chips or seafood platters from their takeaway shop, this co-op has got you covered with the freshest catch of the day.
I went this place yesterday to try medium sized fresh king prawns and calamari, calamari was okay, they have amazing prawns, I could feel the freshness while chewing them. This morning I had to go back to this place to have more fresh king prawns before my trip ends. I ordered fisherman's basket and fresh prawns this time, loved their food! Don't miss their super fresh king prawns, you will love it Thanks for good foods!

This is the first stop after you take your selfie with the big prawn. We got cooked large prawns and bugs that were as cheap as chips literally. Get with hot chips, aoili sauce and lemon wedges and head to the riverside for a picnic. Honestly the best bugs you can get anywhere along the coast.

SO Disappointed !! Was Very Much looking forward to having a Seafood Lunch. Ballina Fishermen’s Co-Op is Located on Cnr River and Keppel Streets Ballina. Not to be confused with the other Fish and Chippery, Close by on River Street. Visited Saturday 4th October. The young lad really needs to either get his ears checked / cleaned Or learn to Actively Listen !! Had to repeat my Oyster order Numerous Times !! And he Kept getting it Wrong !! What is So Difficult about registering “Pacific Oysters” in your Brain-Box !! Was also wanting a Fishermen’s Basket. But, NOT all the Ingredients were available 🤪 Should have paid More Attention to the Fact, this place was Almost Empty. While the Competition around the corner was Very Busy !

This is a very good seafood/ hot fish and chips joint. The prawn cutlets are home made onsite and are that fresh! The chips were sensational. The fresh prawns were yum as well. Price was what you would expect for fresh seafood. The staff were excellent. Recommend you come here for a salty seafood bite to eat!

First time here and unfortunately it was very disappointing. Only got the local pack which has Whiting, prawn cutlets and chips. It feels like they loaded up on the chips to make up for the lack of fish and the ordinary prawn cutlets. The salt in the crumbs is also overwhelming and the cutlets were tasteless. I do see some good reviews for here so maybe it is about consistency...
Daniel R — Google review
I’ve been a regular customer of their prawn rolls, but today I’m not so sure I will be returning. Normally the prawns are great quality and deveined however today this was not the case and I only realised they were not deveined when a couple of prawns fell from the roll, then I started looking through all of them. Gross and unacceptable. To be fair they said they had some young guy had recently started. It’s time to revise their training plan or I will not be back.

The Ballina Byron Islander Resort is a laid-back hotel with unfussy quarters, a restaurant, and bar. The resort offers spacious apartments set in tropical gardens and features a salt-water pool. Guests have praised the friendly staff, comfortable beds, and clean accommodations. Some minor issues were reported with TV reception and hot water availability. The resort also received positive feedback for hosting private functions, with guests highlighting the accommodating managers, excellent food, and professional venue.
Recently stayed at Ballina Byron Islander Resort in a king room. Room was good size and had everything we need. Bed was comfortable. Parking was designated to each room which is brilliant. Staff friendly and happy to help. They also encourage feedback. I would definitely stay there again.

This is a lovely place to stay. The rooms are well presented. The only issue I would highlight was the grouting needs redoing in the bathroom in the room I was in. See photos The restaurant is well worth a visit as it presents lovely meals. I had the chilli prawns and strawberry milkshake and left well satisfied. Also has a bar and pool facilities. I was very happy with the stay.

Went to the restaurant there and had a great meal for a reasonable price. My friends had the all you can eat, which is a selection of pasta's and pizza, but there was a tasty pumpkin soup and garlic bread. There was also dessert, they had the apple crumble and custard. I had a starter of BBQ chicken wings in a spicy sauce and then had the seafood marinara for main. It was all very good and I couldn't fit it all in, so good was the helping. We'll be going back, so that says it all really.

I stayed at the Ballina Byron Islander Resort for four nights while on a business trip around Northern NSW and absolutely loved it. The staff were awesome very friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. The food was great too and I highly recommend the seafood marinara! I’ve travelled to more than 20 countries and all over Australia, and I have to say this was the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Perfect after long days on the road. Great value for money, super comfortable, and just an all-round fantastic place to stay. Highly recommend!

We recently spent the weekend at your resort to celebrate my mum’s milestone birthday, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. We were hoping for something really special, and that’s exactly what we got. From start to finish, the experience was incredible. Chef Jason went above and beyond creating a beautiful cake, and every meal we had was five-star quality and fantastic value. We’ll definitely be back for future celebrations. The staff were all so welcoming and kind. Liam was amazing on our first night, and Natalia and Karime made us feel so at home on the second night, even with a busy restaurant to manage. Trudy, the manager, was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. The rooms were clean and spacious, and Darren from housekeeping was great too. Thank you to everyone who made our weekend so memorable. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

We had to find a last minute stay in Ballina and so grateful we found this hidden gem. The staff was incredible: Catalina and mother and daughter Liza and Ebony made us feel like home and went above and beyond. The food was excellent - from both the individual menu to the all you can eat buffet. Loved our experience here! Thank you for making our stay a terrific one!
Ana P — Google review
Went for the “all you can eat buffet”. Was definitely not worth $29 per person. There was about 8 small pizzas, with minimal topping and poor choices, at least they were homemade. The pasta was a small crockpot of pasta and two small crockpots of alfredo sauce and bolognese sauce. The desert was a small cup of orange jelly or chocolate mousse. I could make a better bolognese at home using store brought mince and sauce from woolies. The food was gone after about 10 people going through and had to wait to be restocked constantly. My family of 5 had to wait after 3 times of food being delivered out to even have some pasta between the 5 of us. The lady at the reception however was friendly and helped us throughout our visit. would not call it an all you can eat buffet. Needs some improvement and would consider going again.
Laycie H — Google review
Firstly, the room looked nothing like the photos on the website. What was shown as a modern, well-furnished room turned out to be tired, basic, and poorly maintained. There wasn’t even a proper bedside table — just a random stool placed beside the bed. Speaking of the bed, it was so soft and unsupportive that it felt like sleeping on a worn-out sponge. Cleanliness was clearly not a priority. I found a mouldy, stained pillowcase, and the room was dusty overall. The fridge area hadn’t been checked — I discovered an already opened milk carton inside when I tried to make a coffee in the morning. To make it worse, the tea supplies hadn’t been replenished either. Basic housekeeping seems to be overlooked entirely. And then there’s the "complimentary breakfast," which they boldly advertise as the “best breakfast in town.” That couldn’t be further from the truth. It was literally just milk, cereal, and juice — absolutely no variety, no fresh options, nothing cooked. Honestly, it was pathetic. To make matters worse, we discovered unauthorized charges on our credit card after the stay. We reached out via email to enquire about the charges — and were completely ignored. No response, no explanation, no accountability. Overall, this place is a prime example of false advertising and poor management. I would strongly advise others to stay elsewhere. The condition of the room, lack of cleanliness, and unprofessional handling of our payment concerns made this one of the worst accommodation experiences we’ve had.

If you find yourself in Ballina, make sure to stop by Chicken Mania Ballina for a delightful dining experience. This charming eatery offers a relaxed atmosphere that instantly makes you feel at home. The service is exceptional, with friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure your visit is enjoyable. Guests rave about the delicious food, particularly the fried chicken, which comes highly recommended.
Not sure if there is new owners or Management but the guy who served us on Friday lunch time was nothing short of amazing with his customer service. As a business owner myself this is one 1 priority and this guy topped it 👏🏻. He even gave my husband and I a sample of the fried chicken while we waited for our order The food was delicious 😋 Well done 👍🏻 10/10 from me

Only took one star away because of the pricing (probably 10% above my expectation) but utterly enjoyed the services by the two teenagers today. Friendly, work hard, totally switched on. Hard to see good workers like that these days. Well done boss!

We were visiting from Brisbane and had the pleasure of being the first customers of the day at Chicken Mania Ballina. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—friendly, prompt, and genuinely welcoming. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere had a relaxed, inviting vibe that made us feel right at home. A wonderful experience overall—highly recommended! Dr R.

I met the owner and u could see he was a proud business owner with personality, even added a few chips just to complete my experience. Food was tasty and enjoyable. If you want fresh chicken feed this is the spot

Chicken shop with great fish and chips, great potato scallops, but unfortunately had run out of pineapple fritters. I'll give it to them I didn't get there until 15 minutes before closing on a public holiday.
Chris P — Google review
Asked if deal comes with small gravy, Ballina manager called me a liar - just asking as other store did last order... Nope - she was then rude and aggro said she'll call her boss to get other store in trouble - then went outback and did! Probably just a new teenager simple mistake gave away a free small gravy in a deal :( Goonellabah store is always super nice people... but wow the owner creating a super toxic and nasty workplace

Nestled among a vibrant array of dining options, Red Wok Thai stands out as a delightful destination for lovers of authentic Thai cuisine. This charming restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere with stunning river views that enhance your dining experience. Guests rave about the generous portions and fresh ingredients, ensuring every meal is both satisfying and delicious. The menu features enticing choices like Fish Cakes and Spring Rolls to start, followed by favorites such as Sweet and Sour Fish or Roast Duck Curry.
Loved the menu, try the Fish Cakes or Spring Rolls for an entree then either Sweet and Sour Fish with Mixed Vegetables or the Roast Duck Curry. Very relaxed and comfortable setting with friendly, attentive staff. Plenty of off street parking.

The food here is consistently good. So far, I've always had a positive experience. Staff are accommodating and friendly. Good meal size. Worth a visit, and with views of the river.
Karen M — Google review
Dined in on a Tuesday night, service was good but the food was below average. Lacked flavour and the portion sizes were small.
Austen W — Google review
The food was tasty and the staff were friendly but unfortunately I found it to be very unlike authentic Thai food. It was much more like a commercial franchise of Australian food masquerading as what people expect to be Thai. Unfortunately likewise were the prices that were charged - it was certainly not financially unreasonable as far as a restaurant goes in Ballina but it was definitely not what I would consider to be paying for what you get. To sum it up it was certainly not an unpleasant experience and I am glad I tried it but I hesitantly say that I doubt that I would return.

Bondies at The Bay

Takeout Restaurant
Bondies at The Bay is a charming takeaway spot that has garnered attention for its delicious fish and chips, often hailed as some of the best in Ballina. With an inviting atmosphere and friendly staff, this old-school eatery offers generous portions at wallet-friendly prices. Their "snack box" is a standout, featuring an assortment of seafood like fish, scallops, prawn cutlets, crab sticks, and squid—all perfectly cooked with a light and crispy batter.
I researched the best fish n chips in Ballina, and Bondies was listed with a few others. When I saw that their fish n chips was only around $7.30, I knew it could be something special. So I drove to their shop, I decided instead on "snack box", and boy, this meal was anything but a snack. Its was more than my appetite could handle. I am so pleased they placed the chips under the seafood. Well, snack box contained a variety like fish, scllops, prawn cutlet, crab stick, squid. The batter was light and crispy. Knew the seafood was very fresh and cooked to perfection. Honestly, Sydney fish n chips could not compare unless you paid $30+. But snack box only cost $14, and I almost could not finish the chips. This is top fish n chips I have eaten, and.other places would be.mich more expensive for less tasty ot small proportions. Also, the tartare sauce came included!! Well done everyone at Bondies at the Bay.

Bacon & egg roll with salad (I added extra cheese, onion & beetroot), & a small chips with chicken salt. Yum!!! Great food, close walk over to the beach nearby to eat it. Only took 10mins to be ready. Great family business to support.
Mi C — Google review
It was quite busy given the first week of school holidays but we waited 30 minutes for a simple order. The highlight and why it wasn't scored one star was the calamari was nice and had nice seasoning and the food came out hot. We both got sick that night as the food was so oily. We certainly have had better seafood and especially with the price we would have expected better.
Amy S — Google review
Paid $8 for fish and chips. Family business, doesn’t have good service but what do you expect from a takeaway store? Food was not bad, too much salt but all good. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Outdoor gets breezy as it’s close to the waters. Street parking- plenty.
C — Google review
Great burger at a great price! Forget the main road, this is the real deal. And if you go to McDonald's instead of here, there is seriously something wrong with you.

So this morning we went to Ballina, and after some suggestions from local awesome followers we visited Bondies At The Bay. Let me tell you, this old school style shop didn't disappoint!! We will definitely be back. If you are in the area, do yourself a favour and call in!
5 B — Google review
An old school takeaway with a mixture of furniture seating around 20 people, it was clean and the staff were polite. The prices are very reasonable, it was only 35 dollars for 2 "works" burgers, 3 dim sims and 2 x 600ml drinks. Overall the food was good, with all the necessities of a burger with the lot, including egg, pineapple and beetroot, with good size burger. The taste was okay too. The only things that could be improved were a new menu on the wall covering all the options rather than the 7 menus dotted around and being asked if you wanted meat or vegetable dim sims. We had assumed they were meat dim sims, but apparently not😊 Lastly, they also have a slushy machine and a selection of icecreams.

Fast food restaurant
If you're in Ballina, a visit to McDonald's Ballina Central is a must for any fast-food enthusiast. This iconic chain has been serving up its beloved burgers and fries for years, and it truly stands out for its speed and efficiency. During my time delivering food in the area, I was impressed by the young staff who work here; they are not only quick but also incredibly respectful towards delivery drivers, treating them with the same courtesy as customers.
This is the fastest fast food place I’ve been to. I’ve been doing delivery for a few months (April-June) in Ballina and later in different cities while travelling, and I haven’t seen young staff working as well as they do here. They’re switched on, deliver orders quickly, and treat delivery drivers with the same respect as customers. The team is always attentive and efficient, and the store is consistently clean and well organised.
Soledad F — Google review
Stopped on the way for a meal from travelling. Now I know why I don't have McDonalds. Awful. Cold chips, barely wrapped burger. Wrong order, but it was to our benefit. Staff were rude and had no idea about products or service. Place was messy and not clean. No soap in toilets. Id be ashamed to own this franchise.
Karen — Google review
Ballina McDonald’s must be the most dirty, unhygienic restaurant. The food and barista made coffee was cold, the service was very poor the staff not interested in serving. Front line staff were using their mobile phones in the kitchen not to mention front line staff throwing food at each other.. that restaurant is so grotty. The toilets were dirty. The floors were sticky and not washed for days. I feel head office needs to be informed.
Rodney B — Google review
This particular McDonalds is a disgrace to the franchise! They never get anything right, every time I go through the drive-through I now have to check my order BEFORE I drive off! I asked for a ham, cheese & tomato toastie, a small orange juice & a receipt since they constantly stuff up. I got handed a ham & cheese toastie, no tomato. No receipt. So I handed it back saying it needed tomato. Then was put in the waiting bay. Staff came out with a paper bag half-arsed folded over with juice dripping in it. Drove 5 mins home to find this disgrace of an example of a toastie. Not cut in half properly through to the bottom, & some smart arse thought they'd slap my tomato ON TOP of the bread! Pathetic, I'd sack the lot including any manager.
Mi C — Google review
Honestly the worst McDonald’s I’ve ever been to… Always incredibly slow to handle just a few orders, and when the food finally comes, half of it is missing. The food is cold, dry, and honestly disgusting. On top of that, the music is blasting way too loud, and the staff spend more time on their phones than serving customers. With prices going up all the time, you’d think McDonald’s could at least make an effort with quality, service, and staff… Definitely nothing works in this place…
P. E — Google review
Stopped for a much needed break on a long trip. I'm not adept with the self order system but managed to get through it only for the machine to tell me that I had no receipt and to do a screenshot of the order number. I quickly got my phone out only to find that the page had disappeared. I went to the counter, waited uncertainly about which was my order. The girl placing the in-house orders out screeched out the numbers without any confirmation of which order was which. It was poor experience. I don't necessarily blame the staff. It's a matter of training and supervision. My recent experiences of MacDonalds here and other franchises have been second rate at best.
Neil P — Google review
Passing through this morning We ordered breakfast I got 2 sausage and cheese McGriddles add bacon (extra $4 keep in mind) I got a sausage cheese and egg? Maybe? It was what ever looked like it had been thrown across the room. Then a sausage and bacon, first bite of that one tasted suss as binned that one Coffee tasted like warmed up puddle water Wife’s pancakes she said they’ll somewhat tough like they’ll burnt somehow. Manager/shift manager seemed to be too busy having a party then anything else They definitely had someone’s phone playing through the speakers which again is what ever, but kind of ties it all together. $51 worth of absolute rubbish if I wasn’t so hung over I would have just asked my wife to drive back and asked for a refund.
Dan — Google review
Staff don't listen to what you order then get annoyed when you ask for what you ordered. The dark haired young female then threatened to deny the order I had paid for and refused to make the correct drink. 2nd staff member backed her up. Unbelievably rude and unpleasant experience. I will never be back.
