Paracas in 5 days

If you only have 5 days to spend in Paracas, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Paracas draws visitors with its dramatic desert-meets-ocean scenery and access to the protected Paracas National Reserve. Boat tours to the nearby Ballestas Islands offer close-up views of sea lions, Humboldt penguins and numerous seabirds. The area is also known for the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph etched into a coastal hillside and for its connection to pre-Inca Paracas culture, showcased in local museums. Calm bays, beaches and coastal viewpoints make it a popular spot for water sports, wildlife watching and sunset views.
With favorites like Embarcadero Islas Ballestas, Yakupark Adventure, and Restaurant Paracas, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Waiki pizza bar and Lobo Fino so you can get the best taste of Paracas while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

I think this is the proper time to tell how beautiful this place is but also to be worried about the impact is been through beacuse of the private industry. I’m an artist and I will fight for the rights of the reserve.
Harold M — Google review
The reserve is beautiful. The process of purchasing tickets and boarding the boat for travel is confusing. Thankfully the tour guide was able to the information in both English and Spanish. Visitors should be prepared for about a 15 minute boat ride through open water which can be windy, wet and cold.
Joelle M — Google review
Such a raw, beautiful place. Explored the reserve by bike and spotted condors and so many sea birds. Love the La Mina beach to take an ocean dip and enjoy the afternoon in the last part of the bike route!
Scarlett C — Google review
Absolute must see when in Paracas and should be on the Peru's must see lists. Beautiful views on every view point. Easily accessible on a day trip by bicycle, scooter or car. Just skip the Lagunillas restaurants, they are mostly tourists traps and you can eat much better food for the same price in Paracas.
Tomek B — Google review
La mina is such beautiful beach!! The water is light blue and clean. The water is cold but so worth it! They have a snack shop upstairs and bathrooms. Would definitely recommend this beach to anyone who wants to be around natures beauty and a friendly crowd
Sabrina — Google review
Beautiful beach against a huge rock wall that is located 30 kilometers from the Panamericana Sur within the Paracas National Reserve. Crowdy if you go during holidays, otherwise is peaceful and enjoyable. Beautiful azure water. if you don't have your own car you have to hire a tour. I recommend going by car so you can manage your own time and enjoy the trip at your own pace

What an incredible adventure! We weren’t ready to see what was in store for us while we drove through this massive desert. Beautiful beaches, lots of history and majestic scenery.

Beautiful beach in the Paracas protected area. You can only arrive by car and the water is not warm but if you are lucky and there is sun it is beautiful.

✨This place is just amazing...I am at a complete loss for words at the pure beauty of this place. Also a word of advice, take a picture of the map in the entrance and you can find your way easier. There are some places that literally have no cell service (it's part of a true nature experience right) 😁 ✨If you have the extra time, do visit here. Of course, since the part that made it look like a cathedral broke in 2007 but you can still see the cliffs and the animals around. It's so peaceful and the breeze is so great! Even as you look around all the different mountains have different colored sand over them. I haven't ever seen anything like it in my life! You look around and it's like waking up in a dream...it all looks like a huge painting and it's hard to believe it's real! Also the staff around were very nice and courteous, only problem we had was the entrance fee they take only soles, plus they do not accept cards. (We were scrambling for change in our car lol) Any of the bathrooms we visited were all clean and well stocked. Overall, I absolutely LOVED this experience!! I want to go back so badly!
Apocalyptian T — Google review
Part of our tour - a pyramid/ "cathedral" shaped rock in the sea, near the coast. Unusual and beautiful. Views of the yellow sea- cliffs make for good photos too.
Vincent O — Google review
Lovely place. Other worldly in appearance in the desert. From the high places you can see both bays. Food in the fishing village is amazing... The sea tour from the Hacienda Hotel was well worth getting up early.
Victor G — Google review
If you haven’t been to the moon yet, this might be very close! Epic sceneries where you could stage your version of mad max 👍 don’t rent a bike cause will eat dust all day long and the hills are steep and the temperature is killing! There are some restaurants in the park and the deliver great food...
Rudi R — Google review
La cattedrale itself isn't very stunning in my opinion, but the view of the coastline is quite something. Rent a taxi and tell the driver to bring you to the scenic spots, it's quite cheap and you can move at your own pace. Expect to be done in 2-3 hours.
Dennis E — Google review
It may simply be land, water and air, however, the vastness makes you feel insignificant. Interesting place to visit. I would have wanted to spend more time here. Travelled with Peru Hop. Apparently this area plays a significant role in stabilising the ecosystem. The area is also rich in lithium. Well done to the government for protecting it.
Shame N — Google review
Caught by surprise by how beautiful this reserve is! Went by taxi from Huacachina in the afternoon instead of with the tours in the morning and it was a good decision. Less people and beautiful sunset.
Phuong D — Google review
Lots of birds and interesting landscapes, worth a visit. We did a bus tour for 25 soles. There's restaurants that serve fresh fish but it's more expensive than the town. The red beach is interesting. Unfortunately you can't get close enough to the flamingos for s decent photo but I suppose it is a nature reserve.

Peruvian restaurant
Art gallery
Nestled a bit off the bustling malecon, Pukasoncco is a charming gem that offers an authentic taste of Peru. This cozy eatery features just two tables and is run by a family who infuses their culinary creations with artistic flair. The menu boasts a variety of traditional Peruvian dishes beyond the usual seafood offerings, making it perfect for those looking to explore different flavors.
I had a great experience in this restaurant! If you are looking for an authentic Peruvian culinary experience, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is very friendly, as the owners are a family, and the family’s original art is displayed all around. We ordered the fish with tomato, onion and rice and it was delicious. The flavour and freshness of the food was incredible and I was left wanting more. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the Paracas area.
Ana — Google review
Homemade freshly prepared delicious dishes (the chef and owner showed us the fresh catch of the day!). Best ceviche we’ve had travelling Peru and the owner is running the restaurant by himself so the price is well worth it. Amazing unique experience would totally recommend if you want to escape the touristy spots, enjoy delicious homemade food and support a local business.
Emma J — Google review
A beautiful little spot for dinner in amongst the owner’s art studio. The fish was perfectly cooked and lovingly prepared, and we felt like we were eating at a friends place. If you’re stopping in Paracas you have to eat here, you won’t be disappointed!

First time in Paracas, Perú saw the reviews of this place and had to check it out! Authentic as it gets! I would give it 10 stars if I could! Amazing!!

Amazing food with huge portions! A bit difficult to find but worth it. There were only three small tables, apparently the larger restaurant got downsized because of the pandemic. Very friendly chef/manager, would recommend coming somewhere here rather than the tourist traps by the beach. The “vegetarian ceviche” was a delicious and hearty salad
Tyler H — Google review
Yum! We enjoyed a great lunch here. The vegetarian chaufa was delicious (ask for chilli if you are so inclined, the fresh stuff was awesome) and so was the rice with seafood. The plates are very large, we ate at midday and were full until late! The stand out though was the freshly squeezed passionfruit juice… so good, you’ll definitely want the jug! Humble little restaurant located in a house but the owner certainly knows how to cook.
Giorgia P — Google review
Loved our meal, the chef gave us an extra large portion. Great carne dish and great ceviche, would go back if we were staying longer and try other dishes. Very fresh food and drinks (we also had pineapple juice). Bring cash though his card machine wasn’t working . Thank you!!!
Liz — Google review
Highly recommend going to this down to earth, feel at home kind of restaurant. The chef/owner was very sweet along with his daughter who kept us company and entertained. The chef is also an amazing artist and craftsman. The food is very delicious, options that span to not only those who want meat based dishes but also vegetarian and vegan options as well! My Girlfriend saw a necklace he crafted himself and ended up getting it for herself.

Great fun water park. Needed to buy some anti-slippery socks at the entrance. Some climbs are quite challenging but all in all it‘s doable. Really fun experience, especially the slippery football. Would go again.
Hyntie C — Google review
It is fun. You have to be in good shape and be able to swim well. But it is good for the kids that likes adventure. I would say it is a bit expensive for just 45 min. Try finding a package to save 10 soles
Juan O — Google review
It looks much better than it is. There are a lot of hidden rules. First of all kids under 13 need a paying adult to enter - and inside the park there are several attractions requiring a minimum of 16 years of age. You also are required to use non-slip socks, which can be purchased at an extra price. The park is especially focused on race tracks - 2 identical tracks next to each other so you and your friend can race each other. But if you’re not into that it’s much smaller than it appears. Finally, some of the large slides were not properly watered so you risk rashes when going down them.
Jonas B — Google review
DO NOT COME WITH ANYTHING VALUABLES. STAFF MAY "LOSE" YOUR VALUABLES We were told that we had to take off all jewelery for safety including rings and earrings. We put our $10 rings in our backpack and handed it to the locker attendant. Later that night we discovered that all 3 small pieces of gold looking jewelry were taken, everything else in the pocket, including all the keys, medicine, receipts were still there. We wanted to chalk it up to an accident but the more we thought about it, the more sus it became. If it had been an accident and things fell out, you would expect other things to have fallen, or maybe only 1 or 2 pieces of jewelry. But the fact that all 3 were gone and everything was exactly where it was was very strange. We contacted the owners as we were pretty sure a rogue employee took them but only asked if they found anything that maybe "fell out" to give them an out. They said they'd look but never responded to further messages. The park itself is quite fun. But pretty dangerous as others have pointed out. A lot of the features are pretty high and super difficult to climb, even as someone who boulders and rock climbed quite a bit. The part that is pretty lame is that they charge extra for renting non slip socks. The risk of slipping is extremely high. Honestly the socks should be mandatory and provided to everyone, instead of profiting off a safety item. All in all I got the sense that the owners just don't really care to much about their customers and one day someone will get seriously concussed from falling or getting trapped in the slots between platforms and I'm sure they'll show just as much care and caution for a $10 set of rings.
Micky — Google review
My wife and I went with our kids since we couldn’t send them on their own. So glad we did! It was much more fun than it looked and we laughed the entire time. It’s possibly the largest and best maintained floating water park I’ve ever seen and who I’m guessing was the owner seemed genuinely passionate about what he created and talked about his recent trips to see other similar parks to get ideas. Definitely worth checking out if you have some time in Paracas.

The Embarcadero Islas Ballestas is an outstanding destination that offers a remarkable encounter with diverse wildlife. The experience it provides is truly exceptional and highly valuable. From the magnificent penguins and seals to various species of birds, there is an abundance of different types of fauna to behold. The site itself boasts excellent management with well-organized facilities and top-notch staff members.
It is amazing, we could see lots of animals. The ride to the Islas is around 30 min and it is really worth it

Good company. Only 40 soles for adults and 20 for kids. Have to pay an additional 12 for adults and 8 for kids for the entrance to the reserve. Picked up at our hotel and walked us over to the entrance. There was a bathroom at the location to go before boarding the boat.

Amazing experience with them. Very responsive on Whatsapp. We were able to reserve through Whatsapp and then pay on the day of the tour. The pier is closeby so you are picked from your hotel in a car and brought to the office (2 min drive), then you walk to the pier. The tour lasted an hour or so and we saw penguins and sealions and lots of birds. The rock formation and the colonies are amazing! Carlos also gave us a small souvenier at the end!! He also checked-in to see how the tour was going. Amazing service and tour worth taking with them!

Waiki pizza bar is a top-notch dining spot in Parasca, renowned for its excellent food and helpful, friendly staff. It's worth noting that happy hour availability might vary and may not meet your expectations, so it's advisable to consult your server for accurate information. The papa frites y queso dish is exceptional, while the pollo & bacon burrito is enjoyable. Portions can be quite generous, so bear that in mind when ordering.
Fantastic spot in paracas! The pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had! And the pina colada was just amazing. Great vibes and very speedy service. Definitely would recommend!
Jessica E — Google review
In this little town there is nothing special but the Waiki pizza bar offers a nice vibe despite cracker crust pizza and sub par burgers. The menu is cute with a cloth print presentation. The house cat isn’t friendly and neither are the staff and owners who happened to enjoy laughing at us for speaking the native tongue. One bright spot outside of atmosphere was that they carry craft beer.
Will G — Google review
It's a fun place in Paracas, from what we've seen, the most fun so far! Staff is friendly, but not eager to help you with new drinks. Cocktails are good and at a good price!
Lars J — Google review
The service was good and the actual restaurant was really cool so it’s such a shame it didn’t live up to the hype on the reviews as the pizza was really bad like the worse I’ve had in a long time (since Argentina)
420 J — Google review
The atmosphere was really nice. Loved the reggae music. But unfortunately I wouldn't recommend people to go there. The food was alright. Not great, not bad. Didn't like the staff. They didn't pay that much attention. Were talking a lot
Mandy R — Google review
Cmon, who doesnt like the best pizza spot in town. This joint had the best atmosphere, service, food, and drinks that anyone could want. It is definitely not a cheap place to eat but the time you spend there and the food you eat is well over the few extra dollars you may spend. The different pizzas are incredible and the selection to choose from is different then anywhere else in the world. Expect a line, and expect to spend a few hours enjoying good company and good pizza.

Good food and amazing service. We had takeaway here twice, the second time we were on a strict time limit with a bus to catch to Lima with only 10 minutes free to collect. We ordered via WhatsApp and they had the food ready for us! All three lemonade flavours we very tasty! Many thanks!

Lobo Fino is a popular dining spot in Paracas, offering a satisfying culinary experience. The Peruvian black lager served with a toasted corn snack is highly recommended, and the service is top-notch. While the lack of wifi may be disappointing for some, the ambiance is pleasant. The menu features dishes like dorado a la plancha, which comes with French fries, plain rice, and salad. However, some patrons found that their dish tasted more like bluefish than dorado.
Super good food, beautifully prepared - one of our best meals in Peru. Definitely higher quality than many other places around town!
Kikki G — Google review
The waiter didn't want to response my questions abouth the menu, he only was talking with my husband or any other in the group, the bathroom was a mess; we had to accommodate the table for the group, bring the chairs and everything, the didn't even say hello, and throw a large amount of menus at the tables, i will not recommend the place
Giuliana M — Google review
Unfair rated… the place has been recommended by our guide. We didn’t wait too long for the dishes to be served. Many locals were there for a late lunch in the afternoon. The food was tasty and the portions big. All dishes were served with vegetables/salad/fries and between 7$ and 10$ (for fish). Just the French fries weren’t good…
Clémence — Google review
I don’t know what the few bad reviews are about. Service was prompt, portions are large, presentation is positively gourmet and the flavour is abundant.

Paracas doesn’t offer a great variety of options in terms of food but this one is a good choice if you are there. They have a daily dish plus different specialties. I really suggest you to try the Ceviche.

Nothing special here, despite Lonely Planet's rec. Fish was very good, service slow and indifferent, price a bit high by Peru standards. The row of Ceviche stands nearby has better food at a better price for a bit of noise.

Nestled in a bustling tourist area, Restaurante EL CHE offers a delightful escape for seafood lovers. While the atmosphere is casual and the service can be hit or miss due to the busy environment, diners will find generous portions of fresh fish dishes that are sure to satisfy. The ceviche is a must-try, especially for those looking for gluten-free options, as the staff is accommodating and eager to help guests navigate their dietary needs.

Overpriced and medium food. We came there only because our guide brought us there. The dishes are super expensive (most of them cost at least 40 sol), and are really not that good. Seems to be they are using the situation where people are hungry after the tour and there are barely other options to eat. The rice with fish was ok, fish soup didn't taste good. Only good thing was the pisco maracuya wich was also overpriced. We paid 90 sol for the couple and didn't finish the food because it wasn't good :(
Shahar Y — Google review
The place is okay considering the area where it’s located (very touristy, busy and far from the food supplies). I can recommend their fish soup- the portion and amount seafood is generous. Taste is ok, but don’t expect extraordinarily flavour. Service, as in any hectic place, is so-so. Atmosphere is also ok.

Amazing fresh seafood. Very reasonable price for the lunch special. Coffee was good too. Service was very good. Highlight was eating lunch with the pelicans!

Really good dishes, especially the bbq of the daily fresh fish. It doesn’t have 5 stars because of the price: it’s a little more expensive than tje avarage price here

Food was good. Came with free corn nuts, which was really great. Service was fast and reasonable prices. And I didn’t feel pressured to eat here like I did for other places. Would recommend!

Typical spot to enjoy fish and other seafood dishes. Do not expect too much, but the staff is working very hard to serve you good food. The area is also used for fishermen. So the fish is definitely fresh.

Perched on the top level of a building with stunning beach views, Restaurant Paracas offers traditional Peruvian cuisine. While it may be a bit pricey, they have an excellent menu del dia and delightful happy hour pisco sours. The restaurant prides itself on providing top-notch service and a fusion of coastal and Andean flavors. With a focus on fresh seafood, the outdoor seating area provides sweeping sea views from the 4th floor.
Absolutely loved this place! They have a full vegan menu and options for vegan/gluten free. The portions were huge and everything we tried was tasted incredible. Our server Fran was amazing – super friendly, gave us great recommendations. Free Wi-Fi is a nice bonus. I’ll definitely be back and will be recommending this spot to everyone!
Peta S — Google review
The tour guide recommended this spot as a part of the trip and we went with it. It’s buffet style but probably our least favourite food we’ve tried in Peru since it just didn’t taste good. There’s a lot of other options nearby that won’t be expensive like this place.
Maria — Google review
Unfortunately the worst food we have had in 8 months of travelling Latin America. They have a big vegan menu but I definitely do not recommend. Texture of the meat substitutes was like play dough, chips tasted like they were microwaved, and overall everything just tasted bad. Not cheap either. The service was good, but the atmosphere completely dead.
Hannah S — Google review
We were part of the Peru Hop group and in the bus our tour guide asked us if we wanted to have lunch buffet at this place. We signed up to do it and it was just 49 soles per person. When we got to the restaurant, we actually picked a plate for the buffet and soon realized we didn’t like the food included in the buffet, because we really wanted to try the ceviche. So, we told the waitress if it’s possible that we just buy off the menu since we really wanted to try the ceviche. She happily helped us to our seats, took our plates from the buffet (we actually already started to take some food from the buffet table) and gave us the a la carte menu. We had the classic/traditional corvina ceviche(forgot to take a photo) and the panko ceviche(as pictured). Both had the “tiger’s milk” ceviche sauce which was so good. The dishes came with side sweet potatoes and corn. The food rating is 5 because of the ceviche and not the buffet since we didn’t try the buffet. The view from this rooftop restaurant was really nice to see the port and all the boats. Teresa was our server and she was very kind about our confusion with the buffet. If it wasn’t for her, we would’ve gone to another restaurant.

Great spot in paracas for lunch! This was one of the lunch stops on my peru hop tour - lunch was buffet style with some great Peruvian options. Loved the causas! Lovely views of the ocean and town from the balcony.

Good value for the AYCE lunch we had. Many different options and good flavor. Not enough desserts for everyone to have a try, but overall I would dine again. My favorite dish was the seafood fried rice.

Playa Roja Tours in Peru offers a basic tour that takes visitors to several natural wonders, including the La Catedral arch, Playa Roja (Red Beach), and Bahia Lagunillas. The La Catedral arch is a massive rock formation off the coast that was unfortunately destroyed in a 2007 earthquake but remains a beautiful sight. At Playa Roja, visitors can admire the maroon-colored sand and stunning desert, beach, and sea views.
Did two different tours with Player Rojo tours! One to multiple stops at the beaches and viewpoints and the other was the golden sunset tour. Our guide was fantastic and at only 19 years old she was super knowledgeable and friendly! We enjoyed ourselves so much and recommend others to join! Thanks a bunch!

We had a lovely sunset tour with this company. The young lady tour host was very pleasant and took many photos for the group. She had lots of knowledge about the area and was always smiling which was so nice .Great way to spend the afternoon seeing many cliff lines and rock sculptures. Coffee shop
Arena Cafe in Paracas offers a nice and quiet environment with good food variety, including some vegetarian options for breakfast and lunch. The cafe has a friendly staff, great WiFi, and clean facilities. While prices are slightly higher than average, the overall experience is worth it. Visitors can enjoy delicious drinks at fair prices in a comfortable environment with excellent WiFi. The cafe also opens earlier than other restaurants, making it a convenient choice for breakfast.
The waffles and hotcakes were amazing and the coffee was tasty too. The brownie with nuts and dulce de leche was by far the best dessert in Perú. Also friendly staff and a chill quiet place.

Great variety of coffee in Paracas area. The bathroom was clean. However, there was a little misunderstanding with the payment in our group. It could have been handled better from their part.
Paulina — Google review
The staff at Arena cafe were absolutely outstanding. My partner and I came here 3 days in a row just because the waitress was so kind. The atmosphere was highly welcoming, the food was great and the waitress even made sure my partner's dietary restrictions (gluten free) were adhered to every step of the way. This was also the first coffee I have had and enjoyed in South America! I had the Nutella cappucino and it was amazing. The waitress was also kind to me after I got food poisoning from another vendor and brought me something small and simple to cater for my needs. I highly recommend this place.
Kylie N — Google review
My go-to breakfast spot. Tasty food, comfortable seating/atmosphere, and biggest thing is the friendly staff. Whenever they see me walk in, they just give me a smile and thumbs up and bring me my usual breakfast. Definitely recommend
Will S — Google review
Both the food and the service need significant improvement. The breakfast options are very basic. I ordered the American breakfast and specifically requested it without ham. What did I receive? Scrambled eggs with ham. I asked the staff to remake it without ham. They returned with the same eggs, just with the ham partially removed. I asked again for a fresh dish. The second time, I was still served eggs with traces of ham left in. Only after asking a fourth time did I finally receive properly made scrambled eggs without ham. I’m genuinely unsure whether this was due to carelessness, ignorance, or a lack of respect for dietary requests—but in any case, it’s unacceptable. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

I was happy with the service and food. I had a coffee and cookie one day and breakfast the next day. Excellent healthy breakfast and they open earlier than other restaurants. (I was there with only a few other patrons.)

Emotion Tour Peru in Paracas offers a variety of tours and rental services, including bicycles and scooters. Customers have had positive experiences with the agency, praising their professionalism, reasonable prices, and excellent customer service. The buggy tour through Paracas National Reserve was particularly enjoyable, with enthusiastic guides and easy-to-drive buggies. Additionally, the agency provides personalized and accommodating services for various tours in the area, making it highly recommended by satisfied customers.
Charlie organised a day trip for our family to a lical winery, Ica, and Huacachina. Very professional, very responsive and helpful! Once we got stuck on our own trip in Pisco and he quickly organized a taxi back to the hotel for us. On the trip itself we had a nice van and great driver and tour guide: Yuri: very knowledgeable, he shared a lot of information with us on our many questions… highly recommend to use this company for sightseeing trips in this region! Huacachina itself in my view is over-tourised: too many visitors for a small place, wish we would have explored the dessert differently. Sad to see how much waste is left in this nice place, should be better taken care of to have sustainable tourism!

Thank you to emotion tour Peru for the wonderful private and personalised tour provided! It was an unforgettable experience, starting from an early personal transportation from Lima to Puno to take the Nazca lines flight followed by the trip to Huacachina for the incredible experience at the sand dunes! Everything was arranged and organised perfectly, ranging from the drives to the individual trips to Nazca lines and Huacachina, to the bus ride back to Lima and finally the personal transportation arranged back to our accommodation. Thank you for the unforgettable experience! It is really rare to find a tour operator who can take us from Lima as most commence in Puno (due to the long drive) but emotion tour Peru really catered to our logistical needs and provided us with wonderful memories ;) Shout out to our friendly, patient and resilient driver Carlos who helped to drive us between destinations (to the lunch place etc and rushing us to the bus terminal as we were almost late, ensuring we reached on time!). Thank you for your help and also to the organiser, Alexander! :) Highly recommend emotion tour Peru for future curated tours!

Please do yourself a favour and do not book a tour with this company! We had a horrible experience and we felt that we were scammed. We were picked-up at the agreed upon time for the Palomino Islands tour, the schedule on their website said that the trip would leave at 10:40AM. When we arrived there was nobody present, when we tried to contact them we were told lies about the schedule and they said the tour would start in a few minutes. We were told to go wait in a cafe. This waiting turned into 2,5 hours. At the docks we were approached multiple times by a different company telling us that we were part of their tour. We thought we were being scammed but after pressuring Emotion Tours they admitted that we were planned to go with a different company. When we showed the booking to their guides and they saw the price we paid they laughed. We were joining their tour while other people joined us who only paid half the price. The boat is also a lot older and less luxurious than you would expect for such a exorbitant price. Their toilets at the docks are one of the dirtiest I have ever seen. The tour was not fun as well, when you get easily seasick don’t join this tour as multiple people were vomiting. The water was also ice cold. The worst came after the tour. When we gave feedback about the whole tour to the company we were first ignored. We asked for a (partial) refund. There was a representative who only started aggressively defending the company and did not offer a single apology once. After multiple emails to management they responded. It was a joke, their whole customer service is laughable. We can only hope some people will be warned by this and book through another touroperator. Reaction to owner: the response of this company further shows their unprofessionalism. Their response to every bad review is that they can not find a booking with that corresponding name and therefore it can’t be true. Instead of trying to improve service they just want to make money. Our booking was under a different name but as you can see in our pictures we definitely went. It is not their boat because, as I said, they sold our booking to a different company. They still offer this tour on their own website. I still have all the confirmation emails so I’m 100% sure it was your company.

Fresco Open Kitchen is a contemporary Peruvian restaurant located in Paracas, Peru. It offers a variety of fresh and delicious dishes from Peruvian and contemporary cuisine. The restaurant caters to vegetarians and provides takeout service, reservations, and table service. Visitors have praised the attentive staff and wide-ranging menu with intriguing flavor profiles. The calamari dish was particularly enjoyed, while the sushi received mixed reviews for its unconventional flavors.
We had a big lunch here and it was amazing. Cocktails are top notch, foods are super delicious and served in an excellent way. Horiana has helped us a lot and served us quite well. Lots of options for protein & vegetarian so it's absolutely a great option in this area for food!

There are few places in the world that truly stay with you — this is one of them. After traveling to more than 50 countries, I’ve learned to be thoughtful about where I choose to eat. I’m particular about what I put on my plate, often preferring to cook for myself to ensure the highest quality and care. But here, I feel at home. The service, from the kind and attentive staff to the talented chef, is nothing short of exceptional. Every visit is a reminder of how food can nourish not just the body, but the soul. The price is fair, but the experience is priceless. The flavors are unlike anything else — unforgettable, and worth returning for time and again.

had a very nice dinner in Paracas at this restaurant! staff were attentive and the menu has a wide range of options with very interesting flavour profiles. I had the calamari which I really enjoyed and my boyfriend had the sushi, which unfortunately was not our favourite as the flavour combination was a bit strange. we also received our dishes at very different times, which was a bit disappointing. the desserts looked lovely and I wish I had room after dinner to try one!

We started the evening with two classic Pisco Sours. The food was delicious. I had a Curry duck with rice. My wife had the fried fish with fried rice. We had chocolate cake with Lucuma moose and two cappuccinos for dessert. Jesus was our waiter. He was extremely friendly and was patient enough to help us choose our dinner. He listened to our cravings and suggested our plates.

Had an amazing time at Fresco! The food was amazing, and had fresh seafood and large portions for a great price. Hellerleen was an amazing waitress. Would definitely recommend coming here!
Emily W — Google review
Mixed feelings… I had the dressed crab starter as a light dinner - at 55 soles it’s very expensive for a starter. The prepared part in sauce was delicious, but they also gave a whole boiled crab, unprepared, and without the proper tools to eat it (claw cracker but no claw fork). So it was pretty impossible to eat, and not that tasty. They also played the entire Justin Bieber album… urgh.
Lucie P — Google review
Food selection good and nicely presented. One or two items we didn't find elsewhere. Great atmosphere. Amber lighting and clean furniture and clean menu as opposed to sticky or greasy furniture and menus that you might find elsewhere makes for a pleasing experience. Only issue is very slow with drinks for some reason. Didn't matter, but it's just what you expect that you order drinks and they turn up reasonably soon. I wish them well as they've got it mostly right.

This restaurant is quite clean, located right by the beach, and very easy to find. It's a family-style restaurant, very friendly, and the food is delicious. I've heard many comments about how some restaurants in this area serve ceviche that can cause food poisoning, but I can confidently say that the food here is very fresh. The soup is also good, and the fried rice with chicken is especially tasty and well-seasoned. While the drink options are not extensive, they do have Chilean and Argentine wines. I highly recommend this place; the prices are reasonable and fair.

Came here because it was one of the best rated places in the town, I don’t know why it is. We both ordered pasta dishes which were full of water and so the food was just soggy. Only ate it as we were both hungry after a big day. Flavourless and way way overpriced for what it was.

What an amazing place to eat! Nice little family owned restaurant in Paracas! The waitress was really nice and caring about our experience at the restaurant, also the food (we both had soup) was succulent, you can definitely know that the chef knows how to cook! The drinks prepared by the owner of the restaurant were delicious also! Would recommend to anyone who pass by Paracas!

My wife and I had dinner here in September 2025. We both had pasta - she had vegetarian ravioli with a pesto verde and I had the linguine with prawns. Both dishes were very tasty. The service was very attentive and friendly. The prices are fair (for Paracas standards, where everything seems to be much more expensive than anywhere else in the country). The location itself is nothing special, but absolutely fine for a casual dinner/lunch.

Highly recommend eating here if you’re in Paracas. By far the best pancakes I’ve had in Peru. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating; there wasn’t the option for omelettes on the menu, but at my request the kitchen prepared one for me anyways. The omelette was delicious as well. Only feedback I would add would be to add an omelette to the menu please!

Very friendly, staff was quick with taking and serving our order, the juices were massive and the sandwiches were really well prepared. Also, not unimportant, they serve nice, crispy, fries instead of the normal soggy ones that are common in the rest of South-America and Peru.

Proximity is everything
For day 3, we bundled attractions like Candelabro de Paracas (Candelabra of Paracas) and Il Covo and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Candelabro de Paracas, also known as the Candelabra Geoglyph, is a massive ancient figure etched into the sand on Isla Ballestas in Peru. Believed to date back to around 200 BCE, its origins are shrouded in mystery and myth. This 150m high and 50m wide geoglyph resembles a cactus plant or tree and has remained remarkably intact over the centuries.
The Holland America Oosterdam stopped for a good long time so anyone who wanted to take photos could take them. The captain pointed the stern towards the candelabra and hung around there for almost an hour. They candelabra is absolutely gorgeous! It is so tall and so visible from far away.
Helen E — Google review
We saw the impressive picture during our boat tour to Ballestas Island. There seems no way to reach here by land. The symbol is similar to Nasca lines but the guide said they are not related.
Yung-chin C — Google review
A great boat ride! The Candelabra was outstanding, as were the islands! We got to see penguins and many other bird species! We loved it! It was a highlight of our time in Peru!
Mark M — Google review
Mysterious. Anyone who takes a boat trip to the Islas Ballestas will also pass one of the most mysterious sites on the Peruvian coast: the Candelabro de Paracas. This 180-meter geoglyph on the Paracas Peninsula is only visible from the sea (up to a distance of about 20 km!). The geoglyph, dug 60 cm deep in the salt-solidified sand, may be clearly visible, but the who, when and why remains a mystery. The famous German-Peruvian archaeologist Maria Reiche has done extensive research on the Candelabro and has found pottery that has been dated to 200 BCE and can thus be linked to the Paracas culture. The geoglyph is aligned to the south and therefore connected to the Southern Cross, the constellation that was used by many sailors to navigate. Whoever created the Candelabro, it is a cool and impressive geoglyph!
Koen — Google review
In order to see it, you go to Paracas and take the ferry. It’s not expensive, but may be a crowd and could be a good hour wait. On the ferry, there will be a guide, presenting native birds and animals - you will see some penguins somewhere far away, on the rocks, too. “ Candelabro” it’s like a giant drawing on the side of a mountain, like 2000 years old. Expect the ferry to be on the water for a good hour and a half. Nice views of the shore.

Magnificent! The only way to experience this sight is by boat so you will need to find yourself a boat tour; check with the hotel you’re staying at as they can help you find a tour. Its amazing to see this “monument” and realize how long it’s been here.

If you're in Paracas and craving authentic Italian cuisine, look no further than Il Covo. This charming restaurant, established by the Badinotti family in the 1960s, is a beloved local gem that showcases traditional Italian flavors. With two wood-burning ovens at its heart, Il Covo specializes in crafting mouthwatering pizzas and freshly baked bread that transport you straight to Italy.
Visited for dinner while staying close by at the Doubletree resort. Surprisingly good pizza and seafood linguine. One of the best places to dine in town; far better that the raft of waterfront restaurants.

One of the best places to eat in Paracas. (Warning) Italian but they only speak Spanish. Wine list was good. Follow me on IG @wine.

It’s a great place of traditional Italian cuisine. From the beginning you feel taste of Italy. We ordered the Pizza Margherita and carpaccio. Nobody expected that we can finish it in 10 minutes. It was the best dinner of our vacation. And not to forget the coffee!
James B — Google review
Wow! After exploring Peru for the last two weeks we have noticed there are so many pizza places! Must of them don’t look very good, however Il Covo was delicious authentic pizza! I can confidently say that it is one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! Their sauce was great and the crust was that perfect combination of puffy and crispy! The inside is beautifully decorated and the staff are friendly and attentive.

Decent pizzas - service friendly if a little slow. Not the cheapest but then nowhere in Paracas really is.

Carpaccio was a desaster and the pizza mediocre..nice place though but I came for the food....disappointing.

Marina Turistica de Paracas

Marina Turistica de Paracas is the gateway to Paracas National Reserve and offers boat tours to Ballestas Islands. The 4-hour tour takes you through more than 200 natural water gates, showcasing diverse wildlife like birds, fish, and sea lions. Due to government regulations, the ride is exclusively on a boat with no access to land. While the terminal provides necessary services for the trip, it's recommended to book through hostels or tour operators along the main road.
The boat tour to Ballestas Islands is awesome! It takes several hours and you get to see amazing landscapes and diverse species of various animals, such as birds, fish, and sea lions. Make sure to bring sunblock and things that you don't mind getting wet - it can get a little rough out there!

Well organized place. Good for trips. Food and drinks inside are overpriced. Better to buy outside along the coastline.

Be aware when taxi stops on the entry of the port Marina Turística official entrence )Alberto representative of Marina Turística de Paracas will try to escort you to the “Only English speacking boat” he charges more than double for the exact trip to the Ballestas island with Spanish and English that costs only 30 soles per person ( he charged 72 soles more than double) he brings a real bad name to Peru touristm and Peru people trying to rip off tourists .

Gateway to paracas national reserve. Inside national Reserve awesome spots to see. The ride will be completely on boat, no access to land as per government law. More than 200 natural water gates, must visit soon, those are getting destroyed by nature and will not last long. Good service and nature at it's best. Near the beach several shops are there to eat and buy souvenir. Ride in boat will be safe and with life jacket.

It's beautiful, but as you walk along the marina you will constantly be hounded by all the restaurant owners to come for their happy hour that lasts all day.

The launching point to your Ballestas Islands Tour The area is clean and has cutout for picture taking and some people selling their wares and food. This is really just the area where you get on and off your boat for the Ballestas Islands tours. There isn't anything else to see here.

Restaurant
Sol de Paracas is a fantastic restaurant with fresh food and kind waitstaff. The upstairs offers a great view, making it an amazing place to dine. While the bathroom needs improvement due to bugs and flies, the mixed grilled seafood and traditional ceviche are highly recommended dishes. The seafood rice and sushi are also incredible dinner options, along with the pisco sour being a standout drink choice.
Lovely restaurant, the waitress was very friendly and nice, she explained everything that I wanted to know. We othered mostly sea food and all was delicious, the steak poor style was so tender and yummy. They gave us complementary corn and pisco sours. Prices are reasonable, nice view to the beach, you can pay with card and cash. Highly recommend to try this restaurant.

Highly recommend this place! I was a bit hesitant with seeing that it only had 4.1 stars, but the place was consistently packed with both tourists and locals so I decided to check it out. It turned out to be SO good! Amazing dishes. Had the Tiradito Sol de Paracas, flavors and quality of fish were incredible. Also saw other people order dishes, one with a ring of clam shells and a middle shell with fire on it, looked so good. As well as others topped with egg. Service was also top notch. Go here!
Ryan C — Google review
Good people watching spot on the harbor and the Malecon. And several interesting street performers and living statues were encountered along the way. Unfortunately, the walking dead of the cruise ship streamed in coughing and hacking and sat all through the restaurant, transforming the otherwise peaceful restobar into a geriatrics clinic. Beer was cold, service was slow, but I wasn't in a hurry until I was surrounded by bubonic plaque cruise ship passengers. Fortunately, they left quickly after gulping down their complimentary pisco sour and I resumed Peruvian chill mode. Prices are tourist town high, dogs and cats are walking among the tables, but the place is clean and in good repair. None of the servers I encountered spoke a lick of English and there seemed to be a lot of complicated questions when I was trying to place simple orders. But I eventually received the ceviche mixto, which was very good and seemed fresh. I'd come here again.

nice beachfront restaurant, fast and friendly service and fair prices considering location. tries chicken soup which was very large and exactly what i wanted. Only negative was the flies around the food but nothing they can do about that
Daniel D — Google review
The fish was tasty, but what I received did not match the menu description. I was able to add sweet potato after delivery. I didn't bother trying for the seaweed post-delivery. Unluckily, I consumed the one large dose of chilli near the end of the meal. I was the only person at the restaurant, thus easy service!

This is an amazing restaurant the food is fresh, the waitresses are so kind, and they have a great view upstairs. I honestly love this place. The bathroom they need to work on there are dead bugs on the floor and there are a bunch of flies. There is also a hole where bugs are coming out from.

Fantastic for dinner. The seafood rice and sushi were incredible. The pisco sour was also the best I've yet had and a hearty portion too. Highly recommended

Karamba Resto-Bar is a popular spot located on the malecon, offering delicious and sizable cerviche made with grouper. The dish comes with fresh corn and sweet potato, creating a perfect combination. Visitors can also enjoy Pisco Sour, which pairs well with the food. The restaurant offers good pricing and large portions, making it an ideal choice in an expensive area like Paracas. In addition to cerviche, their lomo saltado and mixed seafood platter are highly recommended.
This is the best vegan food I have eaten in Peru and I have had two other very good dishes, the causa stuffed with vegetales is my favourite. My wife enjoyed a fish dish which also she has had in Peru. Really good craft ales as well, in bottles and on draft. God music playing as well!!

What we liked the most was the food of course, but also the service. Our waitress accommodated a table outside to satisfy our wishes. We had a grilled fish, cooked also outside. I think this is a good experience and attracts people very much. We also had a combination plate of 4 different food. Great taste, great atmosphere outside.

Judith M — Google review
This place left me very disappointed. Although the drinks are passable, the quality of the food is extremely poor. My dish was supposed to be crispy fried, but they had pre-fried it and then just reheated it in the microwave. As a result, the food lost its crispiness and tasted awful. With this experience, I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I hope the restaurant will improve its service quality and pay more attention to customer satisfaction.

Restaurant
Trattoria de Paracas is possibly one of the finest dining establishments. The cuisine offered is simply outstanding and exquisitely presented, resembling a work of art. The restaurant boasts an extensive selection of dishes, and the staff provides attentive service. Unfortunately, due to indulging in three courses, there was no room left to sample their enticing desserts. Despite being slightly pricey, the experience is well worth it.
Excellenet experience, 5-star standard, all of our food were cooked just perfectly, and our drinks were tasty too. The vibe, the servers were working just right! I read a low score review saying they didn't clean the bread scrumb from the table, but our server did do that, I don't know if they read the reviews and improved the service, or it was just our luck. In general we were very satisfied with everything, nothing to complain, this restaurant deserves its higher price.
Purplexsu X — Google review
My sisters and I were so excited to come for dinner here since we read all the great reviews. I have to say this was by far the worst dinning experience during our trip in Peru. I still gave it a 2 stars because it wasn’t terrible but definitely the worst in Peru. To start the complimentary bread and butter were amazing! We loved it. Bread creates a lot of crumbs, in a nice restaurant like this it is expected for the servers to come around and clear/ clean the table between courses however this was not the case. We ordered a couple of dishes to share among us, tell me why they brought it out ALL at the same time. The table didn’t even have space for all the dishes, on top of this they placed the dishes on top of all the crumbs which made the table extremely crowded and messy. Secondly, due to them bringing all the dishes at once, the main pasta dish was warm/cold. The food in general was very mid. However we really did not like the crab dish which tasted like cheap imitation crab, after the first bite we asked to send it back. They took the dish back 90% untouched but later on they still charged for that dish on the bill for a dish we didn’t even eat. Thirdly, there was a guest that came in and clearly you could tell that he was probably someone important because the juxtaposition of the service given to him compared to us was like night and day. My sisters and I were honestly so disappointed and had our vibe completely killed from the overall experience. Lastly, they STILL did not clean the table once they brought out dessert. We still had crumbs of the bread from the first course on the table, I had to call over someone to do it. Restaurants like this have that small tool and small dustpan for a reason. Forgot to mention earlier that the tables around us were not cleaned after people left, so essentially at the end of our meal we were surrounded by dirty tables including our own. I have rarely written bad reviews but this one is deserved. Left hungry, annoyed and disappointed.

Excellent food and presentations. The octopus anticuchos were amazing. One of the most tender pieces of pulpo I have ever had. The dishes were very well balanced with flavor and tastes. The unique and different cocktails that have some local ingredients are a must try.

An incredible surprise on our way to Ica! We stumbled upon Restaurante Ballestas, and couldn't have been happier. The food was absolutely amazing. I strongly suggest the Lomo Anticuchero and the Hierba Luisa Pisco sou. And our waiter, Oscar, was the kindest, most attentive waiter we've ever had. A truly perfect experience—we'll be back!

Perhaps THE best restaurant ever. The food was spectacular, tasteful, it's like art of course. They have a wide variety of plates and the service was very attentive. We had 3 plates and so sad we couldn't try any desserts because we were already full. But I would definitely return! Drinks were so good too!! A little bit expensive but worth it!!!

Google maps is wrong, it's across the street inside the resort! I walked here from the downtown area. Had me knocking on 3 doors to find it. Alas well worth the adventure this food was amazing and the server was great too!

The appetizers were creative and delicious. The entrees were also presented beautifully. Service could have been more attentive. 2 times we just sat there waiting for our server to move the meal forward. 1 plate was delivered 12 minutes before the other three. The manager was so kind and apologized. Overall wonderful experience.

Destinos Restaurant Paracas offers a delightful dining experience with friendly service and an impressive seafood selection. The appetizers and main dishes, including stuffed squid and scallops topped with Parmesan cheese, are described as incredible. El mejor! We came for happy hour (2 pisco 18sol) and ended up with three cocktails each and a really nice barbecue menu later (ceviche, octopus and pisco sour for 25 sol?!!!) it was perfect, really sweet and good service. Thanks!! No bad words for Destinos. Muchas gracias para la mejor comida de Paracas!!

Excellent! Nobody haggling you at the street, just a friendly smile to approach. Their selection of seafood was displayed right in front of the grill. Chose an appetizer and a main fish and it was incredible. Squid came delicately stuffed with tomato and cheese (likely mozzarella). Scallops came topped with a lightly crisped Parmesan type cheese, again excellent. The main fish was perfectly cooked and very fresh. Also, the salad dressing on the small salad was something special too. Pisco sour was their best, Chilcano was decent, and Mojito was good but maybe a tad sweet. Honestly, an exquisite spot. Did I mention S/ for all of that? Okay, just one drink for 25 but still

Some of the best food in Peru. So fresh and tasty. They have a special menu for 25 soles. Consists of a drink (get the papaya + Pina jugo!!!) Absolutely amazing. Also, appetizer (I got the ceviche) and MUST try the picante mariscos. Incredible. Plus you get the view of the beach, great outdoor seating! Happy hour all day, 2 for 18 soles :)

Lovely food that hit the spot and a great view. There is an a la carte menu and two fixed price menus, 25 soles and 35 soles. The 35 soles menu is very generous so you need an apetite and stomach to match! The food was fresh and freshly prepared and thwre is a complementary appetiser of corn. The restaurant is open fronted and faces out to the beach, harbour and sea. The staff are helpful and friendly, with great English.

The barmaid was very nice but you had to call her over every time you wanted a drink. There is false advertising. It’s not 2 for 1 as indicated, it’s 25 Sol for 2 or 15 Sol for 1. Bathroom has toilet seat and toilet paper.

Crazy how a place like this survives (even thrives) in Paracas. 1. We had to put pressure on them for them to finally give us a legal invoice. 2. They tried to charge us for ice (!?). 3. Food was supposed to be enough for 2-3 people. Yeah, 2-3 children at best. 4. Very poor service. Worst experience of the year. It’s clearly a tourist trap. They barely pay taxes and overcharge people. SUNAT will be paying them a visit soon.

No one said that it would take 20 minutes to deliver my juice or 55 minutes to deliver the grilled scallops. AND that 5 of the 12 would be ice cold. Sorry, I cannot recommend this place. Only after they charged me the whole amount, I said "and you couldn't even comp the drink?". And they did. After 5 weeks in Peru, this was the worst meal I had and sadly, the most expensive.

If you find yourself in Paracas, make sure to stop by Pizzeria Venezia, an Italian gem that truly stands out for its wood-fired pizzas and stunning ocean views. Run by Luca, an Italian chef with a deep passion for his craft, this family-owned eatery offers a delightful experience where the focus is on authentic flavors and quality ingredients. The pizza crust is perfectly crafted—not too thick—allowing the simple yet delicious toppings to shine without overwhelming the palate.

BEST PIZZA! Absolutely delicious and prepared in a big tradiotional pizza oven. Base was not too thick and tasted homemade, toppings were simple not overdone and perfect ratios, not stingy on the ingredients or overboard on the cheese/grease. Menu has English descriptions on it too. Pizzas were between 30-40sol each, which we happily paid for the quality. The chef and waiter were both really lovely, great service. Restaurant overlooks the harbour which makes it a beautiful place to watch the sunset. Would definitely come back.

Easily the best pizza I have had in both Peru and Colombia. Luca is Italian and lives here 8 years now, and you see his passion for the Italian cuisine in the way he and his wife run the restaurant. Amazing toppings and amazing crust, truly a good experience. The restaurant is not the prettiest, but it serves as a place where without too much distraction people can enjoy the Italian masterpieces Luca produces. If you visit Paracas, treat yourself on some true Italian pizza.

Zoe — Google review
Really amazing pizza ran by an Italian. I am vegan and the owners had a firm understanding of what that meant and it really easy to take off cheese and add veg etc. the quality of the dough and ingredients meant that I wasn’t too bothered about having no vegan cheese on the pizza - it was still the best pizza I’ve had in Peru and we went back 2x during our stay in Paracas. The restaurant isn’t very well signposted, so it’s not very clear that they serve amazing proper pizza which is something they should sort out. Also even though I removed the cheese from my pizza the price was still the same as the normal pizzas which I thought was a bit unfair - however we ordered some drinks too (alcoholic drinks (beers) were the cheapest we found in paracas) and so the price was always 90 something soles so we just left a 100 soles note which we would have done whether the price of the vegan pizza was reduced by 5 soles or not so I guess it doesn’t matter. Also great place to watch the sunset!

Exceptional service, incredible food, and a fantastic atmosphere, is what Chalana Restaurant has to offer. First and foremost, the service was impeccable, thanks to Nahomi. Her attentiveness and food recommendations were spot on, elevating our experience from great to unforgettable. The food? Absolutely exceptional. We tried the Ceviche de Pescado, Chalaca de Conchas, and the Causa de Pulpo, which was an awesome and unexpected surprise. But the real standout was the Causa de Pescado Escabechado—fresh, light, and bursting with flavor. Every bite was an absolute delight, and it’s a dish I’ll be thinking about for a long time. To top it off, the atmosphere and setting of Chalana are amazing, creating the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable meal. Thank you, Nahomi again for the amazing service!

Chalana is a great little seafood restaurant on the pier at Hotel Paracas. Awesome food, vibes, and it doesn’t get fresher! Only 4 food items on the menu. Ceviche, Scallops, Sashimi, and Causas (potatoe, avocado, mayonnaise, and carrots). Drink menu is beer, wine, and a few cocktails. Very special setting for a perfect meal or afternoon snack.

Note that this restaurant is through Hotel Paracas! The location noted on google was wrong, we walked down the wrong road for a good 20 mins until a taxi driver stopped us and took us to the right place. The restaurant was really good, beautiful and serene. Would definitely recommend.

If you're looking for a dining experience that combines stunning views and delectable cuisine, look no further than La Negra y el Blanco. Nestled above the main marina, this beachfront gem offers breathtaking vistas of the docks and is particularly enchanting at sunset. With two spacious floors, it’s perfect for enjoying a meal while soaking in the scenery. The highlight of their menu is undoubtedly the fettuccine topped with lobster—a dish that seafood lovers will rave about!
This restaurant is amazing! My wife and I had dinner here and it was one of the best food experiences of our lives! The sea food was delicious, the service was excellent and the prices fair for what is offered. The restaurant offers beautiful views of the bay and the sunset. Muchas Gracias to the chef and our server Vilma for this awesome evening!

we were here February and it was 9pm on Sunday. i had the fish and it was tasty so no problem with mine it was yummy. My friend had soup which lacked taste, a dash of chilli sauce would have helped.we were the only people in the restaurant. great pisco sour. over priced food for what you get.

Great ambiance and because it’s on the second floor it has a great view of the ocean. We went when it wasn’t busy, had a couple of cocktails and some food. Service was good and it was a good place to relax. WiFi available. Would definitely recommend.

Decent food with decent price and that’s about it. The ceviche is not the freshest but then again you pay for the view.

Excellent food and very good for the price. It was not busy when we went but all the dishes were very fresh and large portions. The staff were friendly and attentive without being too overbearing. For what you pay for in the area this place is definitely a must and the best value for money. Thumbs up!!

The service was a 3 stars. The food at lunch was 2 stars. Over priced and not very tasty as compared to the many other Peruvian meals I've had. I ordered a vegetable soup that was really carrot puree and a veggie dish that turned out to be octopus stuffed bell pepper. Sounds good, but lacking flavors. Presentation and waitress were nice too. The location is on the second floor and a nice view. I wouldn't eat here again nor recommend it.
T J — Google review
Best restaurant in town. Excellent value for money very big portion excellent service. Often not busy as the little restaurants by the beach but don't get discouraged, the place is very big. amazing view. Clean and tidy. Strongly recommended
Fabio S — Google review
Maybe because it was at night and maybe because it was during a colder month, but this restaurant was not enjoyable. Two small 'Fish of the Day' morsels for 75 soles ($25) - without sides. Ceviche for 45 soles that was not fresh, zesty, or flavorful. Any seafood from the hole-in-the-wall place in Lima would be better. This is not a value meal. Especially, for being in a small beach town. Tourists are better off eating in their hostel or hotel for the night. The view isn't grand either and worthless to go post sunset. It may be more lively during the summer months but in low season the ambiance is quiet and desolate. Coming from the gastronomic capital of Lima, one's expectations will be lower, but not this low.

Museum
Museo Histórico De Paracas, along with Museo de Sitio Julio C. Tello de Paracas, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of the Paracas region. The museums house a diverse collection of artifacts, including pottery, stoneware, and notably elongated skulls that reflect Peru's tradition of head binding. Despite its small size, the museum holds significant pieces that are essential for anyone interested in Peruvian history to explore.

Playa Chaco

Beach
Playa Chaco is a beautiful beach where you can swim and enjoy the sun. You can also take boat rides to the Guano Islands for an incredible experience. It's a nice place to watch the sunset, and from the docks, you can take trips to the Ballestas Islands. The beach is popular among tourists and locals, although some find it disturbed by boats and with a lot of algae.
(Translated by Google) This beach is located in the Paracas district. Tours depart from here to visit the Ballesta Islands. Here you can find a series of marine restaurants among others. The place has improved a lot, but if you are looking for a quiet place to swim in the sea, I would prefer other beaches in Paracas. (Original) Esta playa que se encuentra en el distrito de Paracas. (Translated by Google) Nice place to watch the sunset, trips to the Ballestas Islands leave from the docks, there are a variety of agencies with varying prices, so it is advisable to consult several and go with the one that offers the most comfortable one. Some tourists and locals bathe on this beach but in my opinion it is not crystal clear, rather disturbed by the boats that abound there, and it also has a lot of algae but it is a matter of taste. Its boardwalk is quite wide and you can spend a pleasant time with the freshness of the sea breeze. On this beach there is also the Yakupark water park for the whole family to enjoy. (Translated by Google) Nice place, but a terrible experience. The places to eat, enter the museum, or visit Paracas Island are annoying; you can't enjoy the scenery anymore because it's become a business. The restaurants near the beach offer very good breakfasts, except for the street breakfasts: 4 soles for a loaf of bread that, exaggerating, costs 2 soles. Terrible experience. National or international tourists should only visit Paracas in passing, as it's not a place to stay or enjoy. (Original) Bonito lugar, pero pésima experiencia. When visiting Islas Ballestas, you have the option to explore both the island and the National Reserve. Spending a night allows you to enjoy a sunset hike in the reserve, offering a unique experience. Additionally, take time to wander through the charming fishing town and savor various dining options and cafes for a delightful culinary adventure.
Maribel and I had the most amazing experience exploring the Paracas reserves. Albert was the most unexpected guide with a vast knowledge and history of the place. He was very kind and gracious and took his time to make sure we saw as much as we wanted before taking us back to our hotel. This was one of my highlights of Paracas. Thank you, Albert. Emmanuel

We did a private tour of the nature reserve and a boat cruise of Islas Ballestas with Albert Tours, both were excellent. The guides were extremely knowledgeable, informative and friendly. On the private tour, Albert bought binoculars and a bird book, allowing us to see and identify so many more birds! On the boat cruise, the guide was very good at spotting wildlife (lots of penguins, sea lions, birds and dolphins) and took us to some great spots. I couldn’t fault Albert at all - the perfect tour company!

As a single dad with two kids, we made our first international trip to Peru. I had been to Peru before, but not Paracas. We arrived in Paracas by bus and went into town for lunch first and then grocery shopping since we stayed in an Airbnb about 10 minutes from town. At the restaurant, me and the kids were eating lunch I came across Albert. Our Airbnb host had also recommended Albert earlier prior to our arrival. Both Albert and his son Nelson, were kind and patient with me and my kids. They were honest, and fair. Explained to us how everything works. After our lunch, Albert took us to the local market for groceries. Dropped us off at the Airbnb. We did all our tours with him and every step of the way he sent above and beyond to take care of us. My kids still reminisce about Albert and his son.

We can 100% recomend the tour of Alberto and his crew to Islas Ballestas. It is very well organised, all of the guides are very friendly, helpful and happy to answer any questions one may have about the Islas Bellestas, the national reserve, etc. The tour was magnificent, we saw such beautiful nature and wildlife. Alberto and his crew are also very responsive via whatsapp which was very much appreciated. Thank you for this experience!

We had a great experience with Albert. We were not in Paracas long enough to be able to tour the National Reserve with him but he guided us on the must-see attractions in the park including the Laguna Rosa and an exceptional view of the flamingos within the reserve. He and his team are very friendly and responsive to your needs! I would highly recommend going through this agency when you find yourself in Paracas.

Vegan restaurant
Vegano Peruano is a delightful culinary gem that offers an impressive menu featuring vegan interpretations of traditional Peruvian dishes. Nestled on the fifth floor, this restaurant provides a fantastic value for its daily menu, especially with its stunning seaside views. Diners can indulge in hearty portions of classic favorites like Chaufa rice and even a plant-based version of Ceviche.
This is in the same restaurant as Paracas Skyview Buffet - they have a separate vegan menu. The vegan menu is great with vegan versions of traditional Peruvian dishes including the main dish, Ceviche. Food was really good with big portion sizes. Went back again the following day as it was so good. Would definitely recommend! Particularly the Chaufa rice or the vegan Ceviche.

This has a vegan part of the menu and the vegan food is ok. However, the experience wasn’t that amazing. A workman was doing very loud work with grinders, they ruined a pisco sour cocktail, and the atmosphere was dead

The vegan versions of traditional Peruvian dishes were super tasty! We went here first for a lunch, but returned later for drinks and dinner. The view is great (4th floor) and in the evening you can watch sunset. Service was fast and friendly. Overall very good place 🍽

We had a great time here. We ordered food but two tour groups ordered before us so our food took longer than expected. This being said the staff was super attentive and apologetic. They kept on updating on the situation and even offered us complimentary drinks. The owner was super funny and entertaining. The food was great, especially the Taku Taku which was bomb! The address is correct but you can easily miss the restaurant, you have to take the lift to the 5th floor. Also the place is great as it caters to vegan and non vegans

The vegan food was just not tasty. And we came for the vegan menu especially. The service was very kind and attentive though, and my son who eats meat enjoyed his dish.

Popped in just for a quick snack. The yucca chips with lima bean hummus are amazing. Never had hummus like that before. Incredible homemade lemonades also, the lemonada de coco is so so fresh I still dream of it. Staff are kind and attentive. And great views of Paracas bay from the rooftop!
Greta M — Google review
Service was ok. What I wanted was not available and there were no accommodations made to remedy that situation beside choosing something else. What I eventually choose was actually pretty delicious. The vegan meat was a tad bit tough. It seemed like it was made a while ago but was just being served. But then again, vegan meat is always a bit tricky. But the sauce and rice was good. Overall I was happy with my meal.

Transportation service
Cruz del Sur is known for its upscale amenities such as on-board service and personal TV screens. While it was once considered a pricier option, the introduction of a staggered pricing system has made it more accessible. The closer you sit to the toilets on the top row, the cheaper the tickets become, with seats at the back being significantly more affordable compared to other bus services like PeruBus.

El Arizal is a popular restaurant located on the embarcadero, offering delicious seafood and a pleasant dining experience. The restaurant is known for its efficient and professional service, with friendly staff members who accommodate special requests. Visitors also appreciate the reasonable prices considering its touristy location.
They were the ones that had the best approach while we were looking for a restaurant next to the beach. It's located right next to the beach. It has a huge variety of meals. Warning: Scam Alert Dishonest agency – we tried to buy our PeruBus tickets, and as we arrived at the entrance of the agency, a woman offered us the tickets, so we bought them. But the next day, we discovered that the bus we were taking wasn’t PeruBus at all, but Jakso, departing from outside the city. The man from the agency saw us with her and said nothing. Absolutely unacceptable. Buy your tickets with Cruz del Sur or online!

(Translated by Google) I hated my trip from Paracas to Lima because there are films playing at full blast on the bus, Why impose this on travelers when there are TVs on every seat? The sound is so loud that I can hear it through my headphones! 4 hours like that is horrible. Knowing that everyone is trying to sleep and wants peace and quiet. I asked the driver and the lady who takes care of the tickets to mute the film or the sound but apparently it is impossible. Too bad the seats are comfortable, but I don't recommend it. The Paracas History Museum is a compact and interesting place to experience a bit of Peruvian history. It's located in a stretch with cevicheria stalls, eateries, ice cream vendors, and souvenir shops. The museum offers impressive stories about the beautiful Ballestas Islands and provides historical information in a modern and pretty setting. Although some visitors feel that it has become neglected over the years, it's still worth taking your time to explore all the information inside. Admission is s/.

This is a private museum collection. the information that gives talks about the own theories of the collector , some of them about UFO's. It is confusing because the other museum, the archaeological one, is passing by the Reserve checkpoint. I say this because I found that most of the tourist think that they are going to that one and instead the go to this one. I am not gonna take part of saying which is better but I think that people should know the difference.

Golden Shadows Trek

Experience the Golden Shadows Trek in Paracas for an unforgettable evening adventure. This organized hike takes you to the lesser-visited parts of Paracas National Reserve, allowing you to walk through the incredible landscape and witness a spectacular sunset from Mendieta beach. The trek offers a unique opportunity to explore the desert and coastline, with knowledgeable guides ensuring an enjoyable experience. It's a highly recommended activity that provides a perfect way to conclude your visit to Paracas.
The BEST tour! Amazing views and a very unique experience. Naudy is an exceptional guide who found the perfect balance between entertaining the group and explaining the geography and at the same time giving everyone enough time and space to just enjoy the views and take pictures. Yet he made sure that we had the perfect timing for the golden shadows & sunset. Above all he was great at communicating about how to stay safe around the edges of the cliffs and came prepared with anything anyone might need during the tour (sunscreen, powerbank, extra jacket... you name ist). I really enjoyed this tour and would do it again anytime.
Gwendolyn F — Google review
We did the Golden Shadows Tour as part of an add on activity with the Peru Hop Bus Company. We prepaid for the tour with through Peru Hop but still has to pay the entrance fee to the park on the bus. We were lucky the credit card machine had signal because we did not have Soles yet to pay cash. It was a long bumpy road to get to the start of our trek. Once we got up to the top of the cliffs it was very windy. The sand definitely got in the eyes. We stopped at a couple locations to take pictures. Once at the final stop we waited for sunset. Our guide, Miki, took artsy group photos on his phone with the setting sun. He was willing to then take individual pictures with out on phone. The view was very pretty. We are glad we did it. We went in the beginning of April 2025.
Karen B — Google review
Good but the guide asked us to tip him 4 times despite paying $27 USD pp. bus very bumpy and loud to the hike. Spectacular views, even if we were asked to board the bus early Would still recommend
Chris T — Google review
The Golden Shadows Tour at Paracas I booked through the Peru Hop Bus was one of the highlight near Lima. The sloping sand dune and commanding cliff top view, the mesmerizing sunset, the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean, and the sea birds that covers the sky near shoreline are all breathtaking. Micky, our tour guide who was humerus, artistic and fun.The sand definitely got in the eyes. He took very stunning photos for each of us and as a group while we were appreciating the sunset. I has such wonderful time to say the least.
Julianne L — Google review
The view is stunning, the tour itself not really. The ride to get to the trek is through a very bumpy dirt road and the van you take is not appropriate for that type of road. Our driver was the main concern though. He was speeding all the time and constantly driving close to the edge of the road. Absolutely dangerous and reckless driving. As if that wasn't enough, I was told afterwards by one of the other passengers they did not have safety belts (I was riding in the front so I had mine). The tour guide was ok but didn't really add much to the whole experience. I also really disliked being asked for tips with the argument "we mostly make a living out of tips" considering we'd paid 27USD each + the entrance to the natural reserve which is not cheap for a 3 hour tour
Tiago R — Google review
Had a wonderful time with some amazing views. The walk wasn't too hard and would recommend for an evening in Paracas. Well worth the effort
Peter B — Google review
What a gorgeous trek! Our guide, Naudy, was great about communicating with us about what we were seeing and also how to be safe on the cliff edges. He was funny, friendly, and had perfect timing when it came to sunset views and pictures. Note that this is a moderate trek with come steep hills and strong winds. Perfectly fine for most people but just be aware if you have difficulty with balance or any knee/ankle mobility concerns.

Best tour in Paracas. I am so grateful I did this tour. The terrains are rough and windy , however the scenary was so amazingly beautiful!!! We saw beutiful lagoons and amazing lock formation along the shore. The guide Naudy was great! I would recommend this tour anybody who loves nature.

Restaurant
Sumac is a seafood restaurant that offers locally sourced and recently caught fish, along with generous portions and tables overlooking the beautiful Paracas bay. The service is exceptional, allowing customers to personalize their meals if they have any dietary restrictions. Additionally, they mention the presence of a nearby catamaran for sailing enthusiasts. Sumac stands out as an authentic establishment with delectable cuisine and welcoming staff. Notably, both the arroz dishes and fresh fish are outstanding in terms of taste and quality.
Gorgeous place on the seafront in Paracas. We walked past and couldn't help but be tempted in by the delicious-smelling barbecue. Take your pick of fresh octopus, scallops, fish, chicken, anticucho. Our meal was delicious, washed down by a cold beer, and great value to boot. Highly recommended.

The cow meat amazing the hotdog with the French fries was nasty . Very small place not good place for a 5 person. If you’re getting stuff offf the grill is the only thing I recommend not anything else. Also it’s only room for two people.
Yurbatman L — Google review
While we went to this location for a restaurant next door, their chef was not ready but this restaurant had their BBQ pit ready and the chef “Sate” was already grilling some seafood. Daisy helped us as we wanted slightly grilled octopus (in the menu) with tigers milk (not in the menu with this dish). Also, we ordered char grilled Lenguado ( Flounder) which was served with Salad and some amazing hot sauce (just right heat!). I would recommend this place and try to explain to them how you wish it cooked, they are creative and can accommodate different styles of seafood.
MANY M — Google review
Like many others have mentioned, we spotted the BBQ setup at night and decided to give it a try. We ordered their “goat fish” to take back to our hotel, communicating with the friendly and attentive staff through Google Translate. The kids loved the fish so much that I had to go back and order a second one! The smoky flavor from the charcoal grilling made it absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

I originally gave 5 stars because I loved the food, taste was so good. But then I got food poisoning the next morning. Can I say for sure it was this restaurant? No. Would I eat here again? Also no.

Nestled along the stunning coastline, Restaurant Bahia is a delightful gem that captures the essence of seaside dining. With breathtaking views of the ocean and sandy beaches, this charming eatery offers a cozy atmosphere that feels like home. The menu features an array of delectable seafood dishes, including a standout seafood soup brimming with squid and shrimp. After exploring the nearby Islas Ballestas, stopping by Bahia is a perfect way to satisfy your hunger while creating lasting memories of your Paracas adventure.

Very good soup with seafood, squid, shrimp. After a trip to Islas Ballestas, if you are hungry, visit Bahia. It will complement the memory of your visit to Paracas. Had both the ceviche and mushrooms sauteed with garlic. (Translated by Google) The food is not so delicious, prices: corvina ceviche 45 soles, pork rinds 45 soles. The flavor of the ceviche was 6/10... it had parsley, the corn with everything and head (for that price it should be an impeccable dish), a camotito and a dry lettuce. The chicharron was 7/10 but it looked like they had added oregano but the worst thing was that it was served with fries!!! When you have seen, terrible where the fried yucca was... nothing happens! (Translated by Google) Excuse me. But unpleasant from the moment of entry, the young lady reluctantly attended. The ceviche couldn't even feel the lemon. It was fish kept with water or prepared with some acid but it had no flavor, the rice with seafood... it's good that they prepare it with separate rice but this rice was clearly too much saved. It is noted that their inputs are artificial and no price goes below 40 soles for that price. A ceviche at that price is an insult, even if it is a duo. I leave in the description the photo of ceviche with water and rice saved with seafood. The only good attention is the pulling (Original) Me disculpa. Se nota que sus insumos son artificiales y ningún precio baja de 40 soles para ese precio. Es un insulto un ceviche a ese precio así sea un duo. Cevichería Rustikarreta - Parrillas is a highly recommended spot with excellent service and exquisite food. The Tamarind juice and Leche De Tigre are delightful, while the grilled octopus is cooked to perfection. The restaurant offers quality food, cocktails, and a beautiful view of the beach, boats, and sunset. It's an ideal sea-view restaurant in Paracas with generous portions and a great selection of drinks to complement the menu.
The food is delicious and quite reasonably priced. In a great location where you can sit back, relax and see the people pass on the Paracas waterfront. There is also free WiFi if needed just ask your host. Highly recommend a visit.

Additionally, the chef's passion for cooking shines through in every dish. Don't miss out on their incredible Happy Hour deals!
We had a great pizza today. We ordered a pizza and asked specifically for only a little bit of cheese (because we can't eat much lactose). Our perspective of little cheese was different from the kitchen and in our view it was still a lot. The owner was very understanding and prepared a new one for us [and checked if the quantity was fine). We enjoyed our pizza and left happy :)

It had been a long day and I wanted to grab a quick bite. From someplace that was close. I decided to try Nick & Nates. They had tables but were fairly crowded. I figured that was a good sign. I was wrong. I should have gone with my gut and visited the other restaurant I had in mind. Instead of not wanting to walk the distance. Service was good. Considering as with most places there was 1 person taking orders, making drinks, serving food, etc. I had their Pisco Sour and Chilca(?). They were the worst I have had in Peru. They were kind of okay but I would not order one again from here. The papa frites came out perfectly cooked and were very good. The first couple of bites of the Carne Asada Burrito were good but then went downhill. It was not bad but again just okay. The atmosphere & decorations are cold, sterile, and boring. Not a horrible place but there are better options.

Had a customised pizza and the pulled pork sandwich. Food was good but not exceptionally great. The cocktails tasted delicious! Pulled pork was kind of cold, the mushrooms on the pizza tasted bad. There was a hair in our pizza dough. We let them know, and they handled it very well and were very nice about it. Luis (our server) was very friendly! Would not necessarily recommend the place, but had a good enough time.
