The place is clean, the animals are taken well cared; you can see that by the size of the places where they are kept and we were able to see the workers feeding, cleaning...
I would suggest going later in the afternoon or early morning because of the hot weather.

Really cool zoo. Small but a good variety of animals. Very clean and well maintained. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a fun outing in this part of Santa Catarina. Don't miss the maned wolf exhibit!
A beautiful place, well organized, had a nice diversity of animals and are beautiful and health animals.
We visited here in July 2023, it was fantastic. The animals looked happy and healthy. You get a very intimate experience and view of them all. I got to see a few animals from South America and Brazil that I hadn't seen before, or knew existed. There are lots of lovely trees around the zoo itself, the staff were exceptionally kind and friendly. A perfect zoo experience!
I was also offered a teacher's discount (I am a school teacher in New Zealand), if I provided proof/ID, so educators - be sure to bring your ID with you!
Nice zoo but a bit small. The dinosaurs are falling apart and need to be fixed.

This was a nice small zoo but it was well laid out and there were plenty of cool zoo animals for adults and kids to enjoy seeing. Highly recommend visiting this zoo if you are in the area.

Absolutely loved the place. You can do a small tour a prepared party where the two you about the history of the factory and you get to get a taste of the chocolate. Also you can take pictures in an area they have with decorations. I went with some friends and had a blast. The chocolate is delicious and the prices are good.
I’d add English subtitles to the video that tells the history of the factory. I had some hard time understanding it completely, since I do not speak Portuguese.

5 years after, I'm back. Tuesday. Place almost empty. The service is excellent. Dishes amazing. Beer from Bierbaum is very nice. I recommend this again.

From the outside, the ambiance and decor suggested an authentic German experience, with a large German flag at the entrance and staff dressed in traditional Bavarian attire.
However, we were surprised to find that the menu was only available in Portuguese, with no options in German or English. Additionally, we couldn’t spot any traditional German dishes for individual portions or even German beer on the menu.
In the end, we opted for a pizza, which felt a bit out of place given the theme of the restaurant.
Another thing to mention is that the outdoor seating area felt more like a playground due to the large number of small children. While this might appeal to families, it didn’t match the atmosphere we were expecting.
Unfortunately, our visit fell short of expectations, as we were hoping for a more authentic and immersive German dining experience in Pomerode with the slogan: “Nossa pequena Alemanha/ Our Little Germany”.
People were very friendly and the pizza mix was sooooooo good. We also got the chocolate inside the crust and it melted so nicely. Very impressed and I loved the atmosphere. Many staff available and quick service.

This traditional German restaurant in Pomerode is perfect for families, friends, and couples alike. They provide a diverse menu featuring authentic German cuisine, accompanied by live music and excellent service.
There is a waiting list we came at 1:30pm, but it is worthy, it is so much fun the music, and the competitions they invite the costumers to play (holding a 2L mug of Chope male and female). The food it is delicious.

AVOID! Complete tourist trap. I'm local but was my first time there, I have only regrets. Extremely overpriced and overhyped, took forever to find a table in a beer garden, when they finally sat us, it was a terrible place, near the kitchen exhaust. We asked to be seated elsewhere but they gave preference to a couple that got there much later. The food is below average to be very generous and for someone who lived in Germany for 5 years, they are really very far away of make the food authentic and properly. Also they served me only 30 min after my wife, which is absolutely unacceptable. The music was terrible, loud and clearly fake, the guitarist/singer was barely even touching his instrument.
Overall a big disappointment as the town offers much better places but for some reason this place gets lots of attention. I feel sorry for the tourists who don't know that german food and the overall beer garden atmosphere is actually much nicer than this restaurant tries (not so hard) to convey.
It's a nice restaurant overall: live german folk music, kids place, good beer options. We ordered two dishes: Pork Schnitzel with Fries and Eisbein with Cabbage and Spätzle. The Schnitzel was delicious, one of the best I've ever had. The Eisbein was not good at all, too hard and you could barely carve any meat from the bone. A shame this seems to be the main dish of the restaurant, featured in most pictures.
Sampled the beers and had the house special sausage appetizer both were very good. Everyone who works here is very friendly band accommodating even with a little language barrier.

The place is very overpriced and overrated. It is the only place both in Pomerode and Blumenau i didn’t like the food. Even the sausages were bad! And on the top of all - you have to show the check to leave the restaurant. You feel like leaving the prison. You can not treat clients like thieves! Definitely not the place we will return

The Schornstein restaurant offers delicious food and beer. Ask for the beer tasting menu. The Weissbier and Witbier are my favourites. Highly recommended. The beer is right out of the tap from the nearby brewery. Also drop by at the nearby shop to stock up on more beer for home.
The whole staff of Schornstein need urgent training in customer service. When I was checking the digital menu and there was an image of a green beer in a special glass in celebrations of St. Patrick's Day. I called the waiter and asked for that beer, which the waiter said it was gone. Then I asked about the ingredient that made the beer green, which he answered "they add something to make this colour". I asked the very same question again, and he gave me the same question, which was lame. Then I asked if I could buy the St. Patrick's themed glass that they had on the digital menu, and the same waiter told me "we don't have it here because that glass was only for display on the digital menu, but you can check at our shop". I asked the waiter to please check if they had in the shop, and again he gave me the same answer that I should check in the shop, instead of going the extra mile for the customer and check himself. I then asked the waiter to please call the shop and check for me, he said "ok", but I believe he never checked and never came back to my table to let me know, even though he was walking around the bar. I thought his attitude was obnoxious and careless for his customers. This is not the first time I have a bad customer experience at Schornstein. You are a reputable company, your food and drinks are of great quality, but your customer service is appalling.
The craft beer was good but the service looked a bit messy.
We ordered the fries and they brought fries with cheese and bacon for mistake, and instead of asking for a new order for us, they did the "favor" to remove the bacon since we mentioned that we don't eat meat or cheese. After asking 3 times for the check, we noticed that they were charging for the fries with bacon and cheese anyway, so we complained and they fixed the bill for us. The staff was very polite but I think that there are better ways to fix a wrong order when it happens.

This was a fun attraction to visit. We visited this place during the Christmas holidays in which they offered a live Christmas show with live singers dressed up in holiday attire. Well worth the visit. Recommend going in the late afternoon, early evening for steeply discounted tickets to enter.

Big place and German beer! Great entertainment.
Nice festival. Similar to Oktoberfest but with better local beer. My Huge complaint though is the fact that despite buying the branded beer mug and lanyard, they still insist on giving you a disposable plastic cup. Which you then immediately empty into your mug (5 seconds of use) . I asked to have my mug filled directly, and was refused. In this day and age with all the science about plastic pollution, and being a person who doesn't use disposable plastic whenever possible, for the good of everyone on the planet it annoys me that I am forced to join the crowd of ignorants. In Munich they use traditional glass beer mugs. Massive fail at emulating your ancestors. Wake up Brazil. Review must went down to 2 stars since they won't even tell the same plastic glass. Thanks for feeding everyone plastic and killing thousands of marine creatures.

There are many wonderful places along this route for eating. Go on an empty stomach. You are going to want to enjoy all the fantastic food along the route.
The signs give us an idea we're going to see a route full of Timber framing construction examples. However, it is disappointing when you see that are just two or three of them. The landscape is cool, but I don't think that you need to lost your time going there.
Great place to visit for a few hours. We stopped at three places and it was unforgettable.

Housed in a quaint colonial-style building, this cozy eatery features warm wooden lighting and exposed brick interiors that create an inviting atmosphere. The lush lawn out front adds to its charm, making it a perfect spot for dining.
The Seidlertal restaurant is located in Pomerode, Brazil which is in German ancestry and odten has various German festival. So if one like German cuisine then one will be quite pleased with their meal at the Seidlertal. When I was in the military and on several temporary assignment in Germany I grew quite fond of German cuisine. When eating at the Seidlertal restaurant it is like one steps out of Brazil into Germany when one crosses the threshold of the doorway. The management and staff are very cordial and try to maje your dining experience one to remember. The only words of caution I will say is call ahead for the restaurant's hours of operations and get their early or you will find yourself waiting in a long line because the Seidlertal is a VERY POPULAR restaurant. However, should you find that you have to take a waiting line ticket and wait, a few tables and chairs along with couple of benches are provided outside so you can relax and perhaps enjoy a good beer. My favorite is a nice cold Zinke Hefe-Weisen beer. Es ist gut!
