Vicente Lopez in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Vicente Lopez, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Vicente López, just north of central Buenos Aires, offers a quieter, residential alternative to the capital while keeping you close to its main attractions. The waterfront Paseo de la Costa along the Río de la Plata is popular for walking, cycling, picnics, and river views. Tree-lined streets, neighborhood cafés, and local shops give the area a laid-back, everyday-Argentina feel. Easy public transport links, including trains and buses, make it a convenient base for exploring greater Buenos Aires.
With favorites like Centro Cultural Municipal Munro, Vicente López Ecological Preserve, and La Farola, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Vicente López Café & Brunch and Parador Antares Vicente Lopez so you can get the best taste of Vicente Lopez while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Libraries
Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays is a serene oasis in the heart of bustling Buenos Aires, offering a peaceful escape surrounded by lush greenery and colorful flora. Spanning 7 hectares, this botanical garden boasts over 6,000 species of plants from around the world. Visitors can enjoy guided tours through the verdant landscape, featuring a rare continental plant collection and an art nouveau greenhouse imported from France in the 1800s.
When it's time for some quiet calm in the middle of the city, head to the Botanical Gardens. Very well maintained and full of a diverse selection of trees and plants from around the world laid out geographically. Plenty of shaded benches for relaxing contemplation.
Lou K — Google review
Incredibly beautiful park. Free. Stunning birds. It is next to (part of?) a zoo however, so once I accidentally lapsed into the side of the gardens, it completely took away from the experience and felt pretty bleak. 4 stars with the hope the two are owned somewhat separately
Lucie P — Google review
A guitarist playing harmoniously under the trees. A quiet fountain that held my son’s full attention. That’s the kind of beauty we found at the Jardín Botánico Carlos Thays. We arrived late morning, just as the city started to slow down. It was easy to get there by bus, and once inside, it felt like the pace of the day shifted. No crowds, no noise. The gardens aren’t overly sculpted or dramatic. They’re subtle, almost restrained. We learned a bit about native Argentine plants like Yerba Mate. It’s a short walk from there to the Japanese Gardens, which made for a lovely, quiet rhythm to the afternoon. This isn’t a destination built to impress in loud ways. But it left a memorable impression.
Candace L — Google review
Beautiful garden with places to sit and enjoy the plantings, water features, and sunlight. The sculpture throughout is stunning and thoughtfully placed in surroundings that echo the shape and mood of the art. This garden is a true gem and it is free so there's no reason not to go!
Joanna G — Google review
A very nice park in Buenos Aires — it’s incredibly spacious and almost feels like a maze with all its winding paths and hidden corners. It’s the perfect place to escape the busy city for a while. There are plenty of pretty views, lots of greenery, and a really peaceful atmosphere considering you’re right in the middle of an urban area. Whether you’re going for a walk, relaxing with a book, or just enjoying nature, it’s a lovely spot to spend some time.
Jennifer C — Google review
This garden is a truly enchanting place, offering a tranquil escape from the city's hustle and bustle. The diverse collection of plants is beautifully arranged, showcasing the wonders of the natural world. It's a perfect spot for a relaxing stroll or simply soaking up the peaceful atmosphere. The entrance is free, but make sure to check the working hours.
Argenrussky — Google review
Free entry and you can do picnic in the park. The explanation inside the main building are very interesting for kids and for adults !
Alice C — Google review
This is such a beautiful place to walk around, take pictures or even unwind reading a book. But keep in mind the the ground will leave your shoes orangish, so don't wear your favourite white ones.

Brunch and coffee was really good. It seems I got lucky and also had a good service, in my case the food did not take long. The eggs were amaaaazing!!! One thing I do not recommend is dessert... Brewery
The music at Parador Antares Vicente Lopez is enjoyable, especially when the Panceta group performs live. The beer is of high quality and always satisfies customers. The service is exceptional, being efficient and extremely attentive to patrons' needs. However, it can be difficult to find adequate seating in this establishment. Overall, the brewery consistently offers delicious beer and a pleasant atmosphere for its visitors.
Great beer has arrived in Zona Norte! The place was crowded and they had an employee walking around with free samples of their Octoberfest beer for those waiting in line to pay. Great Barley Wine and IPA.

The beer is good, but everything is overpeiced and the food is kind of terrible. Service was good although they became more and more rude the more we stayed (We were here for an hour or so, and we kept ordering so I don't know what the problem was). There are much better breweries in the area.

My husband and I have been there at Saturday night, it was really awful. The bad mood attention, eating with cuttlery but no plates, right from the roasting pan really wired. The food not tasty. This is not our first time at Antares but to this branch definetely not coming back!

Bistro
Nestled in the charming Palermo neighborhood, Las Pizarras Bistro offers a delightful dining experience that captures the essence of bistro culture. The restaurant's name, which translates to "the blackboards," reflects its unique approach—both the food and wine menus are creatively displayed on chalkboards adorning the walls. This ever-evolving menu is a testament to chef-owner Rodrigo Castillas' commitment to a market-to-table philosophy, ensuring that local ingredients shine through in every dish.
The lamb sausage appetizer was our favourite. The service was excellent, with our waitress explaining everything in English. Extensive wine list with something for all budgets. They use black boards for me as they buy fresh daily. A very enjoyable meal.
Dany G — Google review
Las Pizarras Bistro “the chalkboards bistro” is a rustic restaurant in Palermo with a cozy atmosphere. The restaurants name is derived from the chalkboards on the wall which show the menu currently available. Of note, the menu changes regularly. The calf of venison was cooked to perfection with the meat sliding off the bone very easily. The ravioli were large and very tasty. The appetizer was chunks of grilled corn covered with a sweet and sour glaze and cheese. The atmosphere was very calm and pleasant and service was friendly and timely.
Michele D — Google review
I have been in BA for 10 days and this is, by far, the best local restaurant I have been to!! Better than any of the steakhouses in the area! Went to the famous Don Julio too and I would prefer this restaurant!! Very friendly staff too! My Spanish is not so good and they were very helpful with the menu.
Christopher F — Google review
It was really good to pass time at this restaurant. People are so friendly and dishes are excelente. Since most of restaurants in Buenos Aires have almost same menu like Carne, milanesa, pastas,, but here you can find something different and enjoy dinner !!

Had an absolutely fantastic meal here last night. Top quality food and ideal if you're looking for something a bit more varied than the typical parillas in Buenos Aires. We had three courses and they were all excellent, the service was great and the owner recommended a delicious Malbec from Salta. The place had a lovely relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Would come back if we had more time!
Tony H — Google review
Interesting restaurant, great option for a night out with a break from eating meat. The grilled fish was excellent and paired with creative sides. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was delicious. The staff are really kind and welcoming, especially Ángel, a standout waiter! Cosy atmosphere.
Christina C — Google review
Fine restaurant, simple decoration, focused on the dishes. We've ordered several appetizers and some main dishes. Overall it was a good experience. Prices are just fare but options are maybe too short. At the end, a glass of wine asked separately was very cold in order to deceive the vinegar flavor it had. For a bill that overcomes easily 15k pesos 2/3 people I though they could have been more thoughtful about it. Don't recomend ordering a single glass wine. The bottle of pinot noir was good though.
Luan B — Google review
Excellent place, you see that outside and inside doesn't have a very good looking image.. but the chef is what makes that place OUTSTANDING !!!! All the food dishes were amazing. Even the desserts were awesome. The waiters were very kind and help you with the selection you have doubts. Very good knowledge about which wines do you choose depending your dish selection 100% I will recommend this place to visit if you are near the neighborhood.

La Farola is a pleasant establishment that offers delicious cuisine and provides excellent service. It is an ideal place to dine, although it's preferable to avoid using credit cards for payment. The restaurant has consistently served great food during multiple visits, and the service staff is particularly friendly, especially when accompanied by local patrons. Their pizzanesa and breakfast options are highly recommended. The ingredients used in their dishes are of good quality, including the Caesar salad which was enjoyed by one customer.
Very nice place if you don't have to pay with a credit card. We stopped there a few times during our visit and the food was always great. An Armed Robbery!! Used to have great food but quality went drastically down. Paying $800 for a mediocre milanesa Napolitana (December 2018) is literally an armed robbery.

An Olivos classic. Menu might look overpriced, but you have to consider the size of the meal would feed a family for a week in some places (sadly). Place has been around forever and a couple of year ago had a facelift from shabby-neon light to a more posh place. Not too much else in Olivos, unfortunately. There are parking garages around the corner. There is a whole discussion about which Pizza Fugazzeta (Pizza with muzarella and onions) is the best in Buenos Aires. Personally, I think that the Farolas individual portion of Fugazetta is one of the best.

We call it reserve (reserva) Never preserve, I think the name is wrong even in English Nice place to visit and relax. In the Rio b de la Plata great view of Buenos Aires from the northern costal suburbs, the best cardinal point. In Buenos Aires you should almost always aim to the north

(Translated by Google) Munro Municipal Cultural Center I had a super nice experience at the Munro Municipal Cultural Center watching Bourbon Sweethearts, a female jazz and R&B band that gave an intimate, lively and very special show. The artists interacted a lot with the audience, which generated a unique and close connection throughout the show. The room was impeccable: clean, well maintained and with excellent acoustics. Everything was heard very clearly. One detail to keep in mind is that the use of the telephone with sound or the flash is not allowed during the function. It is something that undoubtedly helps to enjoy the show more, although I think the indication could have been communicated in a slightly more friendly way. Beyond that, it was a very good experience. Without a doubt I would enjoy another cultural proposal in this space again.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful square to spend some time with the family, it has a carousel that is open until late, it is spacious and tree-lined, for the only reason I lower it one point, is that it has little grass and therefore there is a lot of dirt that the wind picks up and in rainy days generate mud. And another con is that they don't sell candy or drinks either. The rest is very nice. Mexican restaurant
5ta Esencia Restaurante Mexicano, located in Olivos just off the main street, offers an authentic and cozy dining experience. The staff is friendly and helpful, creating a relaxed atmosphere. They are known for their delicious Mexican cuisine, including homemade sour cream and spicy chili sauce. The restaurant has a small bar area, outdoor seating, and multiple dining sections upstairs and in the back. Each table provides a private space for diners to enjoy their meal with friends.
We had a great experience at this restaurant! The burritos were delicious and HUGE, the guacamole tasted authentic, and the margaritas were refreshing. Our waitress was friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely be back!

Cool location, just off the main street in Olivos. Best Mexican we've found so far, and they even make their own sour cream! Staff is super nice and everything feels very authentic. There's a tiny bar, tiny outdoor area with a few tables, upstairs dining I think and a back section. Every table feels like your own little area, which is difficult for a restaurant to pull off.

(Translated by Google) We visited The El Captain Deli Theatre, located on the top floor of Showcase Munro 🎬✨, and the experience was truly amazing. This themed restaurant combines the elegance of a theater 🎭 with a luxurious and well-crafted atmosphere, which dazzles from the first moment. My daughter and I sat at the gladiator table ⚔️, a detail that reflects the care and creativity with which the place is decorated. We also enjoyed some excellent blended teas 🫖🍃, which rounded out the experience perfectly. Every corner is designed to amaze 💎: unique decor, impeccable service, and a gastronomic offering that perfectly complements it. In short, The Captain Deli Theatre in Munro is much more than a restaurant: it's a gastronomic setting worth experiencing 💫.

(Translated by Google) Excellent service and atmosphere. They also have very good dishes, well-made and varied, catering to all tastes. The comfort of the place and the atmosphere are very nice and noteworthy, as I haven't seen many places with a retro movie theater theme. It's worth noting the speed with which they serve and always deliver the dishes very early (and the warm bread with its dip). Every time we come to the theater, we stop by the Captain's to eat and have a good time. If I had to highlight a weak point, it's that to go to the bathroom, you have to go outside and use the restrooms in the shopping center. It's truly a wonderful experience that you should try.

Pizza restaurant
ORNO PIZZERIA offers excellent pizza options such as Margarita and Desayunera (with spinach and bacon), which are both delicious. The crust is superb, with a delightful chewiness. Although the preparation time may be longer, the restaurant's ambiance remains inviting even when it is not crowded. On Thursday nights, patrons can enjoy drag bingo while savoring the pizzas; this event adds an exciting element to the overall experience.

Very good pizza! Tried Margarita and Desayunera (spinach, bacon) and they were really good. The dough is great, super chewy. It took a while to make it though the place was not full.
Matias F — Google review
I'm not one to rave about pizza places, especially as I'm from Chicago, lived in New York and worked in an American outpost of Eataly, but this place is terrific. They offer sandwiches, which we didn't have, and three styles of pizza: Detroit, Neapolitan and Porteno (which we had). The lunch special: a drink and a Porteno (ham and roasted red bell pepper or cheese with onion and olives, personal size). Both pizzas were terrific. The dough was chewy, light and tremendously flavorful. I understand they have a few locations so if you want a quick bite don't hesitate to give them a try.

I’m not sure why this place has such a low rating - the food is DELICIOUS, the pizza is super good with an amazing dough, they have strachiatella (!!) and affordable aperol spritzs ❤️ the staff is great too!
