Villa General Belgrano in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Villa General Belgrano, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Villa General Belgrano is known for its alpine-style architecture and strong German, Swiss and Central European heritage, visible in its bakeries, breweries and local festivals. The town is especially famous for its National Beer Festival (Fiesta Nacional de la Cerveza), one of Argentina’s largest Oktoberfest-style events. Set in the Calamuchita Valley in the Sierras de Córdoba, it offers easy access to hiking, rivers and nearby lakes. Its walkable center, craft markets and regional cuisine make it a popular stop on road trips through Córdoba province.
With favorites like El Ciervo Rojo, Viejo Munich, and El Balcón VGB, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Blackstone Restó and El Balcón VGB so you can get the best taste of Villa General Belgrano while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Brewpub
The brewpub Viejo Munich offers exceptional homemade beer and an authentic German dining experience. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the brewery, led by a friendly and knowledgeable guide who shares intriguing insights into the beer-making process. The establishment also boasts a wide selection of dark beers that are sure to impress. In addition to their impressive brews, Viejo Munich serves delicious German cuisine with good service (though it may be slower during peak hours).
I wouldn’t have thought to be this delighted! I’m coming from Germany and entered the Viejo Munich just to fill my tummy, without any expectation, except the thought “well another restaurant that tries to imitate something that doesn’t exist anymore in Germany” (there, the traditions don’t get the attention like here which I find a pity). I was the only guest because it was 4pm - another plus: you can eat whenever you want! I was immediately getting in the mood for bratwurst and sauerkraut (which I hadn’t had for ages in Germany) through the traditional Bavarian music - not too loud or intrusive - and all the wooden decoration and souvenirs as decoration. Looking at the menu I couldn’t decide because there were so many authentic dishes, also Schwarzbrot (black bread) with Leberwurst (spreadable liver sausage). I enjoyed my meal called “Salchicha Berna” (in german „Berner Würstchen“) and especially the beer! Afterwards I got told by the nice waitress that they produce their own sausages and beer. I don’t exaggerate but this beer was the best I had for a long time. Such a Great, slightly fruity but not too fruity like in an ipa taste. You can buy their products in their boutique too. I’m definitely coming back today for getting some bottles of this delicious beer. Enjoy! Greetings from Hamburg, Germany ⚓️

Best beer I could find in Argentina. I appreciate the German food, slightly curious about the history here.... Part of me doesn't dare to ask, though.
Reed K — Google review
Excellent homemade beer. We did not eat in just visited the brewery and had a couple of drinks. The guy in charge of the visit was very friendly and knowledgeable. I actually learn a couple of very interesting facts about the process of making beer. Then we had a tasting. The dark beer will not disappoint you!
Nicolás P — Google review
The restaurant itself looks classy & vintage. The food is pretty good. You have typical German dishes with many of them including sauerkraut. The service tends to be slow and the waiters not very outgoing. Other than that, it’s pretty good place overall.
David O — Google review
Very authentic German food. Good service as long as the place isn’t too busy. Go as early as possible to get a good table, otherwise the place gets very busy.
Kortney O — Google review
We enjoyed that. Food was good, beer really German /Czech Pilsner style. The only missing was german volksmusik 😎.
Tomas K — Google review
The burgers are clearly store bought. Overpriced tourist trap. If you want a good burger, head across the street. The old building, and the history of it, is pretty cool though.
Gregorious M — Google review
Expensive given the bad quality of the food. A kids burger was 10K pesos which included a single frozen patty and some smashed potato. No bun/bread or anything else (it was "al plato"). Imagine that , a burger without bun for a kid. A tabla of embutidos, all bad quality was 35K pesos or around 30USD. Skip this place.

(Translated by Google) TERRIBLE! Truly, from the service to the after-service. Last week I bought two sheets of "ricotta and ham ravioli" with sauces and cheese. I got home, cooked them, and they were turkey. We didn't eat them because we didn't like them. I told them via WhatsApp, and they apologized, offering me the money or an exchange. I went back yesterday and asked to pay the difference and take some sorrentinos. They refused and offered me the ricotta ravioli again. I bought the sauce and cheese again since "the refund was only for the ravioli." Well, trust me. The girl who served me said, "You come with the sheets and we'll exchange them for you." LIKE, if the register isn't even marked, I'll find out when I'm about to eat. ANYWAY. I'm going back because it's human beings who stumble over the same thing a thousand times. Yesterday they gave me turkey ravioli again. I sent them the photo, already thinking that Listorti was going to emerge from among my pots with a hidden camera, and they asked me what the problem was. I called them, and they told me they'd give me my money back. I'd already spent $27,000. In the meantime, the person who helped me blamed the employees when they weren't capable of something as simple as checking the options on the register. That solves everything. Long story short, today I'm back for my money, and they wanted to give me ravioli again. I asked for my money, and they were giving me $3,500. And the sauces and cheese I'd already thrown away twice? No, the mistake was with the ravioli boxes, they told me. They finally gave me $7,000 amidst a bad mood. Something as simple as admitting the mistake and returning the money I spent. I left with no desire to fight or get into a disagreement. BUT not only are they losing a customer, but not only do I no longer recommend them to tourists, I'm telling anyone reading this not to even go. Frozen pasta, frozen sauce, and dirty cheese. On top of that, terrible service and disposition from the people who serve you. If you can go somewhere else, go. There are two super-recommended places in Santa Rosa; they're not always open, but THEY NEVER FAIL. (Original) TERRIBLE! Buen, a confiar. Pasta congelada, salsa congelada, queso no seco.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant and we were glad they did. We went after the Cerro de La Virgen hike and enjoyed beer and goulash with spaetzle. We had dinner here this evening. The platform is nice, offering shade and some distance from the street. Service was fast to welcome us in but then very slow between courses and we actively had to get their attention each time, despite many staff being on shift and it wasn't very busy. The offer which enticed us in off the street said gnocci and dessert for a set price, but in reality, the dessert is only bread and raising pudding or tea or coffee which was very misleading. The gnocci was ok but the tomato sauce was so plain - I think it was only seasoned with pepper and nothing else. There was no salt on the table or any other seasoning to help give it more flavour. The worst part of the evening was when the waiter said he was surprised that we had eaten all of the dessert. This sounded judgmental and rude. I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

This is a review for the breakfast only. Only basically supermarket toast and just okay coffee. The butter was completely frozen so couldn't spread it. No juice. Didnt check on me to ask if I'd like anything else or bring me the check so I had to go inside to say I wanted to pay. Very disappointing. Went to Zula across the street the following morning and their breakfast is far better.

(Translated by Google) Excellent food and service too. The prices, in line with the service, are worth every peso. Go and enjoy a good meal. I highly recommend the lasagna.

(Translated by Google) The service was excellent, the location beautiful. The food arrived cold, and the portions weren't generous. While there are special offers, they aren't the best. The lamb ravioli didn't taste like it. The lasagna was very small and not filling, nor was it affordable.

(Translated by Google) I was in Córdoba in June. We were a group of six. We ordered different dishes, and everything was delicious. I particularly like the goulash, which was exquisite. The place is very nice, and the staff is attentive.
