Outdoor Activities
Magens Bay Beach is a renowned destination, consistently ranked among the world's best beaches. Its expansive white sands and clear aquamarine waters are complemented by a backdrop of lush greenery, creating an idyllic setting for various water activities like swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. The beach also features amenities such as concessions, equipment rentals, lifeguards, picnic areas, and a nature trail through coconut groves.
Heaven on earth. Most beautiful place ever. So clean. Great parking. Great food. So relaxing. You can rent just about any water activity. Paddle boarding, chairs, snorkeling. Seen so many turtles, stingray, so many colorful fish and sharks. Seriously heaven on earth. With sand sent from a higher power for sure.

Beautiful beads, clean ,water is calm, not too deep. Changing Rooms clean bars, you can rent chairs but the food is a little pricey entrance fee is also pricey $7 per person for none residence and you’re not allowed to leave and returned same day, you have to pay every time you return.

It depends on what you are looking for. If you want nasty water, tons of boats, big crowd, and trashy beaches, this place sucks. But if you want a beautiful beach with clear water, peace, and a place for the family, Magens beach is amazing!!
Charles H — Google review
Beautiful beach, water is so clear ,ez to get to.U have to pay to enter ,for 3 of us little over $20.There is a souvenir shop, pizza and sandwich shop. This may be the most beautiful beach at Saint Thomas.I was only at 3 of Saint Thomas beaches.
Bill S — Google review
Magens Bay Beach is absolutely beautiful. We were there during off season so it wasn't very crowded which made both parking and finding a great spot on beach to drop our stuff easy. Definitely park or head way down to the left on the beach away from the restaurant. That first area is where all the cruise ship people get dropped off and stay and that gets crowded fast. Water and sand are perfect and lots of sea turtles eating sea grass if you snorkel out towards the markers
KJ E — Google review
Water was cool and clear and teaming with fish and other water animals. Beach was beautiful and well maintained with fine white sand. There is a bar and food options on the beach. Also you can rent all kinds of beach equipment including chairs, masks, water floats, etc. It also has a place to rinse off and change before leaving the beach. It was a little crowded with 3 cruise ships in port but that wasn't that bad as the beach is very long. Highly recommended for a dip for a few hours.
Patrick T — Google review
This is one of our favorite beaches in St. Thomas. It has a beautiful white sand beach that is spacious enough to provide seating for large crowds, along with crystal blue waters. We usually attend on days when cruise ships are not in, which makes it nice and peaceful without crowds. The shallow sandy beach does not require water shoes, as there are few rocks or coral in the wading areas. They have public bathrooms, a gift shop, and a place to get drinks and food. We had plenty of space to lay towels out in the shade of the nearby trees, but they also provide seats and umbrellas for a charge. Also, there is a charge for adults visiting the beach plus they charge for parking. I think our party of 5 with parking was around $40. For those who think the snorkeling is not great, I think they may have missed where the action is. I’d recommend walking to the end of the beach on the northern part and swim along the rocky coastline to see some great aquatic life. The south rocky coastline also has good snorkeling. The sandy beaches make the visibility not the best at times, but we saw some turtles and a good variety of fish. Definitely worth the visit next time you’re in St. Thomas!
Mike M — Google review
Costs around 30 dollars for a group of 4 to get in, and there's sewage runoff that goes directly into the area you swim (you can actually watch the brown water dispense into the clearer water) on the other hand, when there's not actual human feces being dispensed into the water the beach is very clear and nice. The food is also good.

Drake's Seat is a must-visit lookout point on St. Thomas, renowned for its breathtaking panoramic views of Magens Bay and the surrounding U.S. and British Virgin Islands. Named after the infamous Sir Francis Drake, who allegedly kept watch over the harbor from this spot, it offers a fascinating blend of history and stunning scenery.
Great view of Magen's Bay. Very beautiful even on a rainy day. Here's info about spot from TripAdvisor... "The vantage point where Sir Francis Drake was supposed to have looked for enemy ships of the Spanish fleet, this lookout includes a panoramic view of the Virgin Islands where the Atlantic Ocean joins the Caribbean Sea"
Anthony S — Google review
Great spot to stop off on your drive around St. Thomas! We stopped here on our way to Magens Bay, and we’d recommend you do the same. The overlook has fantastic views of the bay and the BVI’s. There is a pull-off on the side of the road with parking for a few vehicles, and people don’t seem to stay for more than 5-10 minutes, so the parking opens up pretty quickly. After parking, you need to cross the street via a crosswalk to get to the actual seat, but be careful as sight distance isn’t great around the curve, and drivers can be flying through the area. Definitely worth the visit!

🌅 Drake’s Seat – The View You’ll Never Forget 👤 By alexvane1 – Google Local Guide Perched high above Magens Bay, Drake’s Seat is one of the most iconic scenic overlooks in St. Thomas — and it absolutely lives up to the hype. Legend says this is where the infamous Sir Francis Drake would watch for enemy ships sailing through the Caribbean. Today, it’s where travelers come to take in breathtaking panoramic views of the bay, the Atlantic Ocean, and surrounding islands. 📸 I stopped here just before sunset, and the sky painted the horizon with pinks, oranges, and deep blues. Whether you’re into photography, nature, or history, this spot delivers. ✅ What to Know: Easy roadside pull-off — no hiking required Great for sunrise or sunset Bring water, and stay a while — the view is worth it Best paired with a trip down to Magens Bay Beach below If you’re visiting St. Thomas, don’t miss this stop. It’s a quick detour with a lifetime of views. — alexvane1 📍 St. Thomas | Local Guide Level [X] #LocalGuides #DrakesSeat #StThomasViews #MagensBay #IslandOverlook #GoogleMaps

Stunning and breathtaking view. The first thing you'll say getting out of the car is "man this is beautiful." There's the official drake seat behind you up on a little hill. Both views are stunning. We went when it was overcast and had rained and then came back the next day when the sun was out. It's a stunning view under both conditions, but way better when the sun is dancing off the water. You can see down to magan's bay and you can see the houses in the hills. Then magan's bay is a 10 minute drive down the hill. $7 per adult to get in and $2 parking but the water is a beautiful indigo blue and they have beach chairs for rent, life guard on duty, outdoor restrooms, food trucks. White sand.
DB ( — Google review
The view from Drake seat is absolutely spectacular. And if you can go on a day with no cruise ships in port or maybe early in the morning or late in the evening, it could be peaceful and spectacular. Otherwise the cruise ship bring lots of people in in the traffic and everything is a little bit disconcerting, but you still get to see an amazing view.
J W — Google review
Great view! Definitely worth stopping for.

The view is breathtaking! Definitely worth the short drive. We did intend to watch the sunset there, I wouldn't recommend to try to see it there. Still an amazing spot to sit and relax though. My pictures don't do it justice.

This was our first time ziplining and we could not have had a better experience!! Adam and Dilani were AMAZING!!! They were so knowledgeable, funny and made sure we were safe at all times! They were definitely hyping us up and made the experience one for the books. They pointed out the iguanas chilling in the trees and the views were stunning! We will definitely be doing this again!! Thank you guys!

Tree Limin Extreme Zip Lines was the highlight of our stop in St Thomas! Our guides were Gabby and Adam! They were awesome! So professional and kept our safety their top priority while also keeping it super fun- and Gabby had a terrific sense of humor! Adam and Gabby made it exceptional. I would highly recommend!

I do NOT like heights! Our guides Francis and DaLonnie did a great job at making it such a fun experience! We had a blast doing the six lines and the two bridges. We had a party of 10 and several of us were afraid of heights. They did a great job of helping us face our fears. I definitely recommend adding this to your must do list!

A fun experience, definitely worth doing. The thrill and the charm make it highly unique, every zipline has its own story to tell. Mountain Top is a must-visit attraction in St. Thomas, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the island and its surroundings. Perched atop St. Peter Mountain, this iconic spot provides stunning vistas of Magens Bay, St. John, and the British Virgin Islands from its expansive observation deck. It's one of the first attractions on the island and is renowned for its world-famous banana daiquiri and duty-free shopping options. The gift shop offers a wide array of items including liquor and cigars.
Great place to check out! Awesome views, cool gift shop, and the best Banana Daiquiris! Only negative was an employee who griped at my wife for bumping a clothing rack with our son's wheelchair. But she got her an ear full, so I'll keep the 5 star.
Jakeb K — Google review
The banana daiquiri's here are definitely the BEST that you will ever have! The view from the top of the mountain is really great too, you can see the surrounding USVI and BVI. The gift shop here has the largest selection of everything for less $ than the places in town. Put this on your must do list!
Todd A — Google review
Gift shop with a great view and "world famous banana daiquiri" that they make fresh as you order. It was refreshing, and a great view. Of course, we bought some souvenirs too.
Cortney S — Google review
A tourist trap with great views. There is a large deck on the back of the building with amazing views. They sell Banana Daiquiri, other snacks and beverages, and all the shirts and souvenirs you could want
Dawn F — Google review
Must go place to visit for beautiful views of the island and indulging in their iconic banana daiquiri!! Famous photo and souvenir stop where the souvenirs weren’t that bad in price and there were a ton of options to choose from. Food options could be better, they really only sold hotdogs, chips and drinks.
Tiffany Z — Google review
I saw some people say it was expensive but I’m not sure if we went at different times because they had shirts 9.99, keychains 10 for 5.00 and a great banana daiquiri. This was the best store/lookout I’ve been to here.
Maria H — Google review
Beautiful scenery and the best gift shop on my whole trip. They had everything, a look out deck, and a tiki bar.
Julie M — Google review
The view is why you go to Mountain Top, the banana daquiri is a bonus! It's surprisingly affordable with a souvenir cup! The only regret was that we didn't wait to buy our gifts for back home beforehand, I would have waited if I knew how big the shop was and the variety of souvenirs! Taxi was the more expensive part of the trip, coming from Coki Beach area resort.

Nestled in the scenic Northside of St. Thomas, Sib's on the Mountain is a must-visit destination for food lovers and night owls alike. This vibrant bar and restaurant offers an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy everything from brunch with breathtaking views to candlelit dinners steeped in history. As the sun sets, it transforms into a lively spot featuring live entertainment and delicious late-night bites that will keep you coming back for more—after all, one drink just isn't enough!
After climbing up an almost vertical mountain road with windy switchbacks, we somehow landed at Sib's. Let me tell you this... don't leave the trying Sib's Ribs. Those were sweet and tangy. Paired really well with some salt and peppery fries. Doesn't feel like a tourist trap at all. 10/10 will be back if I can figure out how we got here.

Outstanding restaurant in the cool location. You can tell that they take pride in everything that they do. The barbecue ribs Coconut Rice, New York steak drinks and dessert were all amazing. The service was also top notch. I would recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a great meal at a reasonable price.

Good restaurant with local vibes, affordable prices for the island and great servers and bartenders. The food is always good and the drinks spot on. Plenty of TVs for football season and nice covered porches with fans for warmer days. Huge cocktail and beer menu. Blackened mahi sandwich, burger and ahi tuna sandwich are some of our favorites.

Straight up local hidden gem. My apologies to the locals but I haveto do the review, because they have one of the best rib I’ve ever had. The coconut rice with that rib is heavenly.

We love Sibs! The service is great and they have live music. Very clean and plenty of parking. The food is amazing! I highly recommend the Greek salad.
Anna B — Google review
Food was great, service was not. We placed our appetizer, entree, and dessert order all at the same time. The waitress never came back to check on us until we were ready for the bill. At that point, we didn’t have dessert and we were ready to go. Bill took a while to receive while our drinks were still empty. At least she didn’t try to charge us for dessert. The hostess was super friendly. We saw him more than our waitress. Would try again, just would hope for better service.

Sib's - best local hangout on St. Thomas October 2025 Sib's on the Mountain is probably the best local hangout on St. Thomas. It's been at its location for over 100 years, which tells one that the food, drinks, service and ambiance have been a draw for a century. Had dinner there last Sunday night (October 26th) while I watched Sunday Night Football on NBC. Earlier in the evening, a solo pan (steel drum) player entertained patrons with tunes that accentuated the atmosphere without overpowering conversations. I am familiar with Sib's, having grown up on the island. Coaches and teammates used to go there to celebrate victories after high school football games. Decades later, I can attest Sib's still delivers local hospitality, all highlighted by welcoming Sibley family owners/members like Monique.
Bill S — Google review
Had a great dinner with my wife here. I had Chicken and she had ribs. Service was polite, prompt, correct, and downright friendly. We arrived a bit late around 9, and were still seated and made some dinner. The prices are reasonable. I foolishly left behind my credit card. It was safely stored, so we happily returned for dinner again at 1700 the next day. This time I got the ribs, and apparently the great experience was no accident.

If you find yourself near Magen's Bay, make sure to swing by Udder Delights Ice Cream Parlor for a delightful treat! This charming spot is known for its incredible selection of ice cream and milkshakes, including unique options infused with rum. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. Locals rave about their signature shakes like the Rum Runner and Banana Foster—each sip bursting with flavor and just the right amount of kick.
I've been coming here for over 20 years, and they've expanded their venue and menu with more delicious options while keeping and maintaining the great taste of the old favorites. Staff has changed over the years, but the service has always been consistently great.

The best shake I’ve ever tasted and must have when visiting St. Thomas! I found this spot on the way to Magens Bay beach. It was located off of a turn as your driving down the hill to the entrance of the beach. We were immediately greeted with a smile and a “Hello, welcome to udder delights” as we walked unto the deck. The shake choices are exotic, fun, and really captures the culture of the island. There are lots of choices so we asked for help deciding. The owner who was there at the time recommended the banana foster. I ordered the Banana Foster and my husband ordered the Choco-Mocho. OMG they were literally the best shakes we ever tasted! We also ordered the burger and fries for lunch which was fantastic! The burgers were moist and well seasoned and the fries and coleslaw were great as well. We were literally addicted and wished we found this spot much sooner on our trip. We insisted on stopping by for lunch again before our trip ended and it was well worth it again! That time we both enjoyed the Banana Foster which was just as delicious! We had burgers and fries again and a side of wings- all delicious! Can’t wait to visit again on our next trip!

Worth every minute of waiting in line in the heat. You should go here. Yummmm! Lots of great combinations of boozy milkshakes. You can also have them hold the booze. 12.2023 The milkshake shack made it through the hurricane! Still worth stopping. If you don't know where to look, it is easy to miss. As you take the last bend in the road to get to Megan's Bay, you turn to the left and the milkshake shack is on your right. It's quite unassuming. The sign is old and small, keep an eye out and you can't miss it. Obviously, that's a lie, you can miss it. Pay attention.

It's one of the best milkshakes on the island, located at Megan's Bay, perfect for a refreshing stop after a long day at the beach. Menu is if of mouth watering shakes, you can add some of your favorite alcohol or even can get it custom-made. Make your shake, spike it with your favorite alcohol, and add your desired candy toppings, smother it with a chocolate syrup, caramel, or whip cream, and call it a day.

This place was recommended by a local islander and I’m so glad they recommended this spot for lunch! I stopped by with my wife for a taste of their shakes which can be ordered with liquor! The staff member serving us was very pleasant and attentive! The place was clean and had a great selection of shakes and food. We ordered 2 shakes- the Rum Runner and the Banana Foster. The shakes were insane and out of this world! The flavors in the shake came together so well with the perfect amount of “kick”. I can say it was the best shake I ever tasted and my wife felt the same! My wife and I also tried an order of buffalo wings and fries. The food was great and complemented the shakes well! Glad I tried this spot!

Fine dining restaurant
Nestled in the picturesque hills above Charlotte Amalie, the Old Stone Farmhouse is a must-visit dining destination for anyone looking to indulge in an unforgettable culinary experience. Housed in a beautifully restored 18th-century plantation stable, this upscale restaurant offers market-driven American cuisine that perfectly complements its historic ambiance. The intimate setting features candlelight and massive stone walls, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere ideal for celebrating special occasions or impressing new friends met on the beach.
If you’re on the fence because of some recent poor reviews I’d urge you to go anyway. We ate here last night and had a wonderful meal and excellent service. The atmosphere is soothing and elegant. Our service was well paced, so we could relax and really enjoy our food and surroundings. Not rushed and not slow. My fluke feature was fabulous, wonderfully balanced creative flavors. The wine selection is very nice with a wide range of price points. Desserts are made in house. Overall fabulous dining experience and we would absolutely go back again!

This isn't a meal. This is a culinary experience. One of the best restaurants on St. Thomas. Every detail is well thought out and amazing. The appetizers, the cocktails, the main courses, as well as dessert were all over the top. The location is also great and feels both historic and laid back. If you come to St Thomas, you owe it to yourself to try this place.

From start to finish, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. Aaron, our server, was professional, attentive, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The food? Absolutely out of this world! Every course – from appetizers to main dishes to desserts – was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We were especially impressed when the chef personally came to our table to ask for feedback. It’s clear they care deeply about the quality of their food and guest satisfaction. Highly recommend a visit – this place is a gem!

This is a nice upscale restaurant to eat at while in St. Thomas. Very cool history behind the place. The food was phenomenal. I have no complaints. It was the best dinner we had the entire time on the island. They’re often changing their menu.

We reserved a spot for dinner after our wedding. We unfortunately got lost on the way there and weee super late. The staff was amazing and allowed us to still have dinner. We didn’t feel rushed at all and everyone was so kind. Such a beautiful way to end our wedding night.

Old Stone Farmhouse is hands down amazing!! Sin our waitress was so helpful and very accomodating! We went for my newphews graduation dinner and she gave a cute congratulations card from the staff at the end! They say reservations were needed but it wasnt terribly busy. Valet is around the back of the building.

Dined 07/17/25 Service was PAINFULLY slow. We almost left before the appetizers came out. Water was never refilled, I ended up grabbing water from a service station myself. Wine did not come out until after our appetizers were already finished. Was not worth the $700 we spent on dinner. Nor was it a great enough experience to take 3 hours for a meal. Lights kept flickering over us and changing in brightness. Took way too long to get seated/greeted. Such a shame because the food was actually great but the overall experience did not match the expectation and price point. Feel like we wasted a whole night for a subpar experience.

Day 2

Southeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the southeast side side of town. Start the day off with Havensight Mall, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to St Thomas. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Shopping mall
Store
Havensight Mall is a popular shopping destination located near Bluebeards, offering a wide array of duty-free items such as jewelry, electronics, and souvenirs. Situated within walking distance from Downtown Charlotte Amalie and Yacht Haven Grande, the mall provides an opportunity to witness majestic cruise ships docking at the nearby port.
Extremely close to the cruise dock, just the length of your ship and you ready to eat, drink and explore. Wonderful There are many options to get around the island or just stay local. There's a great array of shops including a fantastic local supermarket which has excellent produce, alcohol and medication. Decent prices, no gouging tourists which is very refreshing. The shops can supply everything you want for swimming, hats, lovely clothes for men and women and souvenirs. Bit pricey but so lovely, treat yourself you might not come here again, but I bet you will. Charlotte Amelie is a beautiful town and is probably a great base if you have time to venture out. There are masses of restaurants and bars, shops and great places to stroll. The sand taxis are roomy, open air and great fun. Bit like a converted truck meets the tourist land trains. I've never seen them anywhere else, they are plentiful and take you all over. This is a gorgeous port stop only spoiled by an early departure and being stuck onboard by US customs and immigration which has to be done onboard. We still had half a day and it is worth it even for a couple of hours.
Maya A — Google review
Cool shops, but not a very authentic or unique experience. Cruise port shopping centers are so commercialized. I'd rather get off the beaten path and spend my money somewhere more authentic.
Jakeb K — Google review
Lively, Fun, and Full of Options! We visited Havensight Mall a couple of times during our trip—both with and without our cherished company—and it was a great experience each time. While it was definitely more crowded when the cruise ships were in, the energy was still enjoyable and never overwhelming. The area is lively and full of things to do, from shopping and dining to just strolling around and soaking in the local vibe. There are plenty of shops, both tourist-friendly and local, and a few great spots to grab a bite or a drink. It’s a good idea to go with a plan or a few destinations in mind, just because there’s so much packed into the area. Can’t wait to go back—definitely one of those places where every visit can be a little different depending on what you’re in the mood for! Highly recommend adding it to your St. Thomas itinerary.

There's a variety of shops, restaurants, and even a grocery store we've grown to like. We will go out of our way to eat and shop here because the area is kid friendly and easy to maneuver. Parking is available, and the food is delicious no matter where you eat.

Nice collection of shops right off the ships! Everything you would find tin town you can find right here and more as unfortunately many of the shops in Charlotte Amalie have closed, likely due to the pandemic!

This mall is just like the other shopping areas in Charlotte Amalie. Friendly people (except at the Pandora store, and I'm serious about that). Lots of jewelery as with everywhere else. Some boutique shops too. Tap & Still is always the right choice for lunch.

I enjoyed this shopping experience and purchased a cotton sleep shirt, that was 9.99 us dollars. I wish I knew the number because the number mentioned didn't work and I would like to purchased the rest of colors long sleeve and short sleeves. It's hard to find 100% cotton sleep shirts here in the U.S.

The Pirates Treasure Museum is a captivating two-story museum that offers an immersive experience into the world of pirates. Visitors can explore authentic treasures recovered from deep-ocean shipwrecks by Odyssey Marine Exploration, and learn about the technology and submarines used in these daring expeditions. The museum features interactive exhibits, including a virtual pirate ship helm for kids to try their hand at navigating through a storm.
It was a rainy day while in port, so we opted to come to this museum instead of the sky ride. The museum is on the smaller side but we still spent a good hour here walking around all the exhibits. I really liked the history timeline of the islands and it made me look for books on the history and the various shipwrecks.

My family and I had a fantastic time at Pirates Treasure: A Shipwreck Museum in St. Thomas! It was the perfect mix of fun, history, and hands-on exhibits for all ages. A special shoutout to docent Issa Evans — he was absolutely wonderful! Funny, witty, and incredibly patient with our curious 3-year-old. His enthusiasm really made the experience memorable for all of us. We learned so much and truly enjoyed every part of our visit. Highly recommend this gem for families visiting the island!

This museum was very interesting and fun. Highly suggest visiting. Allowed to take pictures. Fun to dress up as pirates at any age. Even a hurricane simulation. Had our own guide as there were no ships in port and it was quiet at the time. He isvery knowledgeable and went out of his way to share. One of our best experiences on the island.

Fantastic little museum about sunken treasure and pirates. List of information about the history, recovery, and artifacts from the Caribbean. Lots of info about pirates I didn’t know, especially in St. Thomas. Even had several photo opts. I would recommend while going through the shopping area. But they close the Museum at 4:00 because it takes about an hour to go through the museum. The gift shop closes at 5:00. The Museum was $20 per person.

They have wonderful artifacts, history, and the staff is phenomenal. Issa Evans was funny, knowledgeable, and made our experience wonderful. There is also an interactive area where you can dress up as a pirate, take photos, and go the Brig. They also have a gift shop where you can buy actual treasure. Definitely worth a visit, and then head across the street to the Rum Hut for a bushwacker.

Our family visited this museum while at port.we really like the museum and learned a lot. They had some displays and interactive things to do as well. The highlight was from the museum curator, Issa Evans. He was fun and very knowledgeable and shared interesting facts with us. We would highly recommend. It is walkable from the port.

Isa, the gentleman working at the museum is a real gem and very kind. He made my husband and our two daughters feel very welcome. His colleague (pictured), on the other hand, followed us around, yelling at my daughters about 5-6 times, twice for being too loud even though the museum has a hurricane machine! What a shame. She seems way too nervous to be around children in a museum clearly marketed to kids.

The Skyride to Paradise Point is a popular attraction in the Caribbean, located just a short walk from the Havensight Pier. This gondola ride takes passengers 700 feet above the port, offering breathtaking views of St. Thomas harbor and the surrounding islands. The aerial tramway provides a quick seven-minute journey to Paradise Point, where visitors can enjoy panoramic vistas of Charlotte Amalie and beyond.
Paradise Point was a gorgeous spot — I only wish I had gone during sunset or on a clearer day! Even with some clouds, the view was breathtaking, and the ride up (though a little bumpy and loud) added to the experience. The bar has a relaxed vibe, definitely more suited for an older crowd looking to unwind. I tried a few drinks for the first time and they were so good. The spot is also perfect for cute pictures, and the souvenir shop has some cool finds — especially the crystal necklaces sold by a lovely woman inside. There’s also a scenic walk up there, including a short rail path that really immerses you in the view. Just a heads-up: the day we went was really hot and sunny, so I’d recommend checking the weather first to make the most of it. If you’re into unique views, a chill bar vibe, and fun little shops, it’s worth the trip!

Taking the skyline cable ride was both thrilling and beautiful. The staff were friendly. Starting from the ground level and rising all the way to the top of the mountain offered breathtaking views, a bit scary at times, but totally worth it. At the summit, there’s a scenic walk that includes a short rail path, perfect for taking photos or simply soaking in the peaceful landscape. There’s also a restaurant and a gift shop at the top, making it a great spot to relax and take in the surroundings before heading back down. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area!

99 Steps

4.3
(377)
The 99 Steps in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, is a historic brick staircase built in the 1700s by the Danish colony using bricks brought from Denmark on sailing ships. It leads up a hill to Blackbeard's Castle and offers stunning views of the harbor and surrounding islands. The area is known for its hilly landscape, and these steep streets and staircases were constructed to facilitate navigation.
GPS is slightly off on this location, but not by much. In the area there are 3 sets of steps, but the 99 steps is marked as such and all the steps are in a row, no gaps and no breaks. Anyhow very beautiful area and it's definitely worth seeing. But if you need some exercise find the other two big sections of steps in the area, as both are more than 99 if I counted right.
Slim S — Google review
Worth visting to get a sense of history and how the town is laid out. Takes only a few mins to walk up to the top, so you can say you did it :) Whoever is building the new house at the top will have a wonderful view of the port, so go now while it is still under construction.
Patrick S — Google review
It is only a short walk from the Charlotte Amalie Historic District (interesting, but tons of jewelry dealers), Fort Christian, the local vendor's plaza, and Emancipation Garden. Definitely worth a quick hop skip and jump to walk over and up them. I counted 102 total steps and 66 of the old stone. The remaining steps were concrete. All in all, a very cool sense of the history from the natives of the Ciboney tribes, the Taino or Arawak tribe and the Caribs to the Spanish, Danish, and British. Quite the few hundred years for this attractive little waterfront...
Timothy M — Google review
Sometimes it was easier to build steps up a mountain than a sidewalk. This is a step side walk. It has a ton of history around it, such as the buildings and ruins; and lovely flowers along the way. It would be an interesting place for a photographer. There are some cool shots to capture. When you reach the top, there is a stunning view of the bay. Go early in the morning, it gets a tad warm.
Ali B — Google review
99 Steps offers a captivating journey through history that every visitor to St. Thomas should experience. As you ascend these well-worn steps, flanked by charming historic buildings, you can't help but feel transported back in time. The cobblestone path and aged facades evoke a sense of nostalgia that is both charming and enchanting. Reaching the summit, one is greeted by the crowning jewel of this climb – Blackbeard's Castle. This iconic structure stands tall, a testament to the rich maritime history of the Caribbean. The panoramic views from this vantage point are nothing short of breathtaking. The lush greenery and azure waters stretching out in every direction create a scene straight from a postcard. For any tourist, this excursion is an absolute must. 99 Steps not only provides a physical journey but also a voyage through time and culture. It's a chance to immerse oneself in the stories of the past while enjoying the stunning beauty of the present. Don't miss out on this unique and unforgettable experience when visiting St. Thomas
Buz D — Google review
A nice stroll along the steps. Not too hard to climb. Great views for looking around and being a tourist. Also a great area for photo ops. Steps are historic and old, but beautiful nonetheless and leads to different parts like a restaurant, black beard's castle, or a rum store.
Arianne — Google review
One of the hidden gems in St. Thomas’s capital city of Charlotte Amalie are the 99 steps located on Kongens Gade, just east of Hotel 1829. Walking through this historic landmark can provide a time for meditation, reflection and reverence whether alone or with family and/or friends. If you are up for the challenge (there are actually 106 steps) the climb is a bit of a workout. Once at the top, the views are spectacular and you can use your imagination to think of all the pirates, town folks, and royalty that ascended those stairs on their way to Blackbeard’s Castle. (Due to damages from the 2017 hurricanes, the castle is now closed to the public). Nevertheless, the rewards for climbing the steps are many including the native flowers and plants along both sides of the stairs and it’s FREE! As it is told, the original bricks were constructed from ships that came from Denmark and used to make travel around the island much easier. Enjoy your visit 👣.
Tanya G — Google review

St. Thomas is a renowned destination famous for its picturesque beaches, snorkeling opportunities, and historical landmarks. It's a popular spot for luxury Caribbean vacations, attracting numerous cruise ships and affluent travelers seeking oceanfront villa rentals with stunning views of the turquoise sea. The island offers a blend of cosmopolitan scenes and traditional island charm, making it an ideal getaway for families as well. Additionally, investing in real estate on St. Thomas provides similar processes to purchasing property in the U.S.
I Love St Thomas. The Island is so Beautiful and lush. The waters are magnificent and bright blue. Mountain Top Banana Daiquiri is highly recommended with the view of Meagan's Bay below.

the locals drive like it's Pakistan. Beware the sea weed in the summer. bring at least $300.00 a day for food... duty-free stores are a joke , they say no tax , however, everything you buy is at least 3x more expensive than anywhere else. Just price some booze... aside from the horrible drivers and way extra priced everything the views are great the water is super clear ,and if you get away from the cruise area it's better. I did not cruise had a car so I did see entire island.

If we ever make it back to the island I would stay here in a second. We stayed here for half of our honeymoon, after fleeing St. John to st Thomas right before Hurricane Irma hit. No one would take us in. I begged them at the desk while my wife sat in the rental about to cry. They took us in and boarded us up in a concrete villa. Hurricane shutters and all. After the complete destruction we all became a family and took care of each other and waited for rescue. The cooks there made us our first hot meal maybe days later down by the water. We ate MRE meals from the military throughout and had saved water in our bathtub and all the bowls in the villa. A lot of the lower buildings were destroyed and roofs ripped off. It was terrifying. The aftermath was almost more terrifying than the storm as the island was so destroyed no one could get food or buy anything let alone drive anywhere with phone poles blocking roads and electrical wires everywhere. This is but a short description of the ordeal. We were eventually rescued by a ln old cruise ship. I believe we might have written a thanks shortly after but with Hurricane season starting it made me remember how wonderful the people at this place were to us. Truly like saved our lives. We had nowhere else to stay and time was running out. Thank you again from Buffalo NY. We stayed in B-15. I have tons of professional photos of the damage and trip 😞

The U.S. Virgin Islands are so much fun and there are so many fun things to do! I highly recommend St Thomas! The U.S. Virgin Islands are truly a tropical paradise, and St. Thomas is no exception! From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the island's stunning beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant culture. There's so much to see and do in St. Thomas. I spent my days lounging on the beach, snorkeling in the turquoise waters, and exploring the charming town of Charlotte Amalie. I also had the opportunity to hike through lush rainforests and visit historical sites like Blackbeard's Castle. The locals were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The food was delicious, with a variety of fresh seafood and Caribbean flavors. If you're looking for a fun and relaxing vacation, I highly recommend visiting St. Thomas. It's a truly unforgettable destination that has something to offer everyone.

Before my visit to the island, I had never heard of Cravin' Crabs. However, the driver, Mr. Philmore, highly recommended it and ensured me that I would not be disappointed. And he was absolutely right! The food at this restaurant is incredibly flavorful and delicious. It is expertly seasoned and pairs perfectly with their drinks. The ox tails I had for lunch were exceptional even though I don't usually eat them.
Cravin’ Crab is hands down the best seafood restaurant I’ve ever been to! I had their seafood boil, and it was so incredible that I had to go back a second time, even though I’m only on the island for five days! Everything was perfectly steamed, the corn was juicy, the food well-seasoned, and it tasted so fresh. I’ve had seafood boils before, but this was by far the best. The service was outstanding both times. Our first server, Rex, was super kind and took the time to explain everything to us. The second time, Mica was just as wonderful, very polite and helpful. The entire staff is friendly, and the restaurant is spotless. Not only was the seafood amazing, but the chicken Alfredo was probably the best we’ve ever had too! If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. If you’re in the U.S. Virgin Islands, this place is a must-visit!

I ordered the fried lobster and shrimp. It came out hot and fresh. My husband had the seafood pasta and he enjoyed it. That is saying a lot because he is extremely picky. We did not take pictures of the food, we just dove right in as soon as the food arrived. Service was great and the restaurant was clean. I recommend!

Found this gem in St. Thomas. We were cravin’ for seafood boil. Seafood boil is excellent. There’s Filipino influence. Tasty sauce. Service is attentive and friendly. Atmosphere is a good vibe. We sat outside in the terrace. Nice sunset.

I ordered the fried snapper, it was not hot. The fish was dry. The mac and cheese was also dry. It was as if the food was old. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wished I would have requested a refund because I feel cheated out of my money. I ate here on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at approximately 1:42 pm, I state this in order to provide more context for visitors to St. Thomas like myself. There was no toilet paper and no paper towel in the restroom. I had to ask for napkins in order to use their restroom.

Visited St Thomas, asked around "what's the best place for seafood?", everyone mentioned Cravin' Crabs, checked it out, food was amazing, you can definitely taste the island fresh difference, service was wonderful, thank you Rex for taking such good care of us, atmosphere was great considering the location but the inside was a bit stuffy and lackluster to say the least, overall, literally the talk of the island! I love you Jacqueline ❤️ thank you for the absolutely wonderful time on St Thomas! 🏝️🍻

Cafeteria style food is an understatement. Shocked at how many people think this is good food. Stopped in because of the reviews as was surprised at how awful the food was. $40 for salmon that's been sitting under a food lamp drying out? No amount of butter could save it.

Tap & Still SXM is a solid spot if you’re looking for a casual, no-frills bar with great drinks and a relaxed atmosphere. The open-air setup gives it a fun island feel, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The drinks are definitely the highlight—well-made cocktails, ice-cold beers, and strong pours at good prices. The service is friendly and efficient, adding to the easygoing vibe. The food, while simple, is decent for bar bites, with burgers and fries being the go-to options. It’s not a fancy spot, but if you’re after a chill place with good drinks and a fun crowd, Tap & Still delivers.

We have eaten and relaxed here several times (family of four). Their burgers are devine. Eating outside is relaxing and it's so easy to watch the kids play. Eating inside is nice as well, especially when watching sports. They have a DJ regularly (I think) and usually have or can get the sports games you want to watch. They are in a prime location as well.

It's a Five Guys with alcohol, they serve everything in bags just like FG with fries in the bottom. Burgers were good for the price. The funnel cake is really good I didn't try a shake. The servers were uncoordinated and we got asked multiple times from different people our order.

I just had the most bestest chicken sandwich here at Tap and Still! Tammy at the grill out back was on fire! I hoovered that sandwich in short time. Delicious! And I was supremely taken care of by the ever effervescent Vanessa rocking it behind the bar. This place is crushing it!

I would definitely like to make another trip to get a cheeseburger, very tasty, a little weird having chickens walk through the bar, but comical. Recommend stopping in if you're in St. Thomas.

This place was really good. We really enjoyed ourselves. The food was fabulous. The atmosphere was fabulous and the service was great. Vanessa Jackson and Derek did an awesome job with service. The drinks was good. Vanessa did an awesome job. She made me some strong islands as we say, I would highly recommend this place at a few places on the island, but this will have to be one of the best.

Bar
Nestled in the vibrant Havensight area of St. Thomas, The Dog House Pub is a must-visit for anyone seeking delicious comfort food during their island adventure. This cozy eatery offers a delightful selection of burgers and burritos that are sure to satisfy your cravings. With just five tables inside, it exudes an intimate charm, while its spacious patio invites you to enjoy your meal outdoors amidst the stunning Caribbean backdrop.
AMAZING Nachos and even better service. Popped in here after our excursion. So glad we did! Nachos were so good, beers were cold, service was amazing and very reasonably priced! Shout out to Tracey & Deseree, our servers. We will definitely be back next time were in STT.

DHP is a great bar and restaurant, with several TVs to watch the game, plenty of tables and bar stools, a solid beer selection, and so many fans. The staff are friendly and on top of their game, and the kitchen is banging it out snd getting it done. This is also a good spot after you go diving with Admiralty. Award winning 🏆
Scott K — Google review
This was a nice reprieve from typical cruise terminal priced food and quality. It has a dive bar feel to it and is tucked nicely into a little corner. Our waitress was wonderful and expedient. The food was standard bar food and the quality was pretty decent. Our total was $60 for 2 adults a child and an alcoholic beverage. I would definitely suggest a visit. Location is a very short walk from the cruise terminal.
Stephen ( — Google review
We made DHP into "our" hangout while on the island after it was recommended by a bartender at the airport. We ate and drank here several times, and watched the NFL on one of their several TV's. The food was good, and wait staff was great every time. It is largely open-air, with large fans above you and most tables had table fans, which was great during those heat-advisory days. There is also some inside seating that is sort of air conditioned, plus has a few gambling/slot machines. Parking is pretty limited, but I always found a spot behind the neighboring bar.
Duane H — Google review
If you're looking for a place where the locals go to eat and watch the game while still in the heart of the action, this is your spot. The very affordable and delicious food kept us coming back and the friendly staff and great drinks made us feel welcomed while we were there. This was our favorite spot while on the island and we'll be back when we're here next time!
Bob T — Google review
This spot hits the mark for bar fare. The juicy burger and the nachos loaded with shaved ribeye were both excellent. Highly recommend!

Great spot! The nachos with ground beef are so good—definitely a must-try. We liked it so much, we came twice during our vacation. The place is clean, and the service is excellent. Highly recommend!!!

Nachos, fries, and wings what’s not to like. Had the sweet and spicy sausage sub with a side of fries, nachos and wings. It wasn’t super busy when we went but they had a bunch of to go orders so the wait was about 25 minutes, but the atmosphere was nice so time flew by. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.

Blue Eleven

Restaurant
Blue Eleven offers a remarkable fine dining experience in the Virgin Islands, with an intimate ambience and spectacular food. Guests can indulge in a 7-course dinner featuring dishes like King Fish Tartar, cassava foam with passion fruit puree Halibut, and Wagu beef with tamarin sauce and local sweet potato. The attentive waitstaff provides excellent service, enhancing the overall dining experience.
First off, please don’t pick this restaurant if you are expecting large portions! This place is about the flavor profile! The beauty of combining various flavor profiles in to a delectable dish. It’s a tasting menu, not a let’s feed our child nuggets and give us large portions of fish or beef. This place is low key eclectic with its own quirks. I would say from a flavor profile it was almost on par with French Laundry Caribbean style, again low key fine dining. It allowed you to taste the delicacies of what the island offers from cassava, plantains, wahoo, among other items. Yes, it’s expensive! Yes it’s worth the price if you enjoy experimenting with your flavor pallet! We had decent service! Again, you’re on an island, it’s laid back and respectful. It saddens me to read reviews when patrons complain about price and size of dish but no one actually made comments if they even understood what was put in front of them. How much time and effort it took to mix that one dish in to what it is. We also really enjoyed a great conversation with the head chef at the end. We did not have any issues with the wait staff or timing of our meals or service.
Ling B — Google review
Lovely chef’s tasting menu. Each dish was infused with Caribbean flavors and ingredients. Everything was exceptional, including the service. One person in our party has a severe fish and seafood allergy and they adapted the tasting menu to accommodate. Such a great find!
Sanyukta M — Google review
Really love what Chef Benji and his team are doing at Blue Eleven. We opted for the 7-course menu sitting at the Chefs table to watch each meal being prepped. The staff were wonderful! We asked a lot of questions about each course and how it was prepped you could tell the team took pride in perfectly plating each course. Chef Benji is elevating local cuisine with amazing sauces and unique ways to present their local food. Sooo many favorites from the evening .. the cheesy lobster with coconut biscuit, the green banana mash (SO delicious), the doughnut at the end but the boiled Halibut with passion fruit sauce (oh my!!) in a cassava foam may have been my favorite. Thank you for such a wonderful and unique evening!!! Bravo!!!!

This was probably the best meal we had in St Thomas. The service was great, the food was delicious. Just a great experience overall. It salvaged some of our dinner experiences on island as good food felt hard to find.

If I could give this restaurant 10 stars, I would! From the amazing waitstaff, to the delicious dinner, everything about this experience was top of the line. The space itself is unassuming but be prepared to be taken on a culinary journey which each course better than the last!

Incredible food, service & atmosphere! The vibes and energy were great. It was fun watching them cook (if you choose to sit at high top). We got 7-course with a drink each, and it was perfect. My fiancé and I ate here to celebrate our 5 years, and because of the great reviews, I chose Blue 11. They won’t disappoint, and we’re excited to try Indigo4 (sister restaurant) for brunch on Sunday before we head home :) Thanks for a great experience…and Chef Elroy, if you’re reading this, we’re the couple that talked about hollandaise sauce and risotto lol! You’re a great man, don’t ever change and also keep on singing! It’s good for the soul.. and so is good food ;)

Update July 2025 We overnighted on St. Thomas to be able to dine at Blue 11 on our way to St. John and the BVIs. It was THAT good last year! It was THAT good again this year! As noted in my last review, our plan going in was to not eat all day so we could enjoy the 11-course chefs tasting menu. So glad we did! 11 perfectly executed small plates, each one fantastic on its own, but as an almost two-hour presentation, heaven on a plate! The restaurant itself is very nice, cool bar area in the back. Nice dining area. But, counter seating is where it's at for a front row seat into the kitchen. Staff is first rate, fun, happy, on the ball! IGNORE reviews complaining about prices and portion sizes! Those are simply IGNORant folks who didn't check out the place before dining there. Blue 11 is foodie, gastro perfection. Pricey yes, small portions yes, but for those who truly appreciate fine dining and expecting a chef's talent, this is a must do in St. Thomas. Easily one of the top two or three restaurants in the USVIs! Simply outstanding! Highly recommend! March 2024 We dined at Blue 11 in St. Thomas, USVI, before a recent sailing adventure. It surpassed all expectations. We arrived when they opened and were the first to be seated. We chose to sit at the "Chef's Counter" so we could watch all the action in the kitchen first-hand. We had eaten earlier in the day, so we opted for the 7-course chef's tasting menu. What a gastro experience! If 10 stars were possible, Blue 11 would earn all 10!!! (Next time we won't eat all day to allow for the 11-course extravaganza! LOL). The service was awesome, the staff super friendly, and the chef and his staff interacted with us all evening. We started the evening with cocktails. A sorrel margherita (the Virgin Islands have their own version of this cultivated spice) and a cosmopolitan. When the drinks were finished, we opted for Eroica Reisling as a good pairing of what we understood the menu for the evening would be. It turned out to be a good choice. After dinner, we capped the evening with a Bushwacker frozen cocktail which was delicious as well. The courses served were as follows: tuna tartare atop a habanero-cucumber sauce; poached Caribbean lobster on an herb-cheese sauce with a coconut biscuit; deconstructed calaloo soup; NY steak with green banana-white cheddar cheese puree, tamarind glaze, and sweet pepper jam; poached halibut with a passion fruit sauce, served on a casaba foam; jerked chicken with plantain gnocchi, sour cream sauce, basil oil, and spicy annato aioli; and, homemade donut with whipped cream, powered sugar, espresso ice cream and guava sauce. The couple seated next to us opted for the 9-course meal, and the wife could eat her 8th course, so we also were able to taste a combination of conch, king mackerel, and onion sauce. If it all sounds delicious, it was! It was a fantastic meal, great setting, and a wonderful time! We will definitely return to Blue 11! Highly recommend Blue 11 on St. Thomas!

Excellent local fine dining restaurant serving delicious modern interpretations of Caribbean favorites using regional ingredients. Excellent service by Jerry & Moses and delicious food cooked by Chef Elroy. We had the 7 course menu and wine pairing: 1. Tuna tartare, cucumber & habanero couli. 2. Lobster with butter sauce and biscuit. / lentils halibut dumb bread. 3. Scallop, fish, callaloo deconstruction. 4. New York steak, green banana cheddar mash, tamarind. 5. halibut , passion fruit, cassava. 6. Jerk chicken, plantain gnocchi, annatto sauce. 7. Doughnut, guava sauce, espresso ice cream. + Creme Brulee birthday gift. My wife has a shellfish allergy which was accommodated smoothly with some tasty substitutions. There was no a la carte option during our visit; 7, 9 or 11 course tasting menu with wine pairing. Wines were very nice with a couple of exceptional and the rest familiar but reasonable names. Highly recommend for regularly treating yourself to a nice meal and also for special occasions. Andy June 2025

Day 3

Proximity is everything
For day 3, we bundled attractions like Crown Bay Center and Lindbergh Bay Beach and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 7 hours.

Crown Bay Center is a charming shopping destination, perfect for tourists looking to pick up local goods and souvenirs. The area offers a variety of shops with options ranging from leisurewear to formal attire, as well as trinkets ideal for gifts or keepsakes. Visitors can also enjoy the warm island atmosphere at the marina's restaurant just west of the center.
Very nice place only open when cruise ships are in port. Lots of things to sell and buy...

Not a ton of shops, it’s a fairly small area, but it was still nice to walk around. Be prepared for high prices. The Sassy SnowCo place was the highlight of this stop. Fair price, and 100% the most friendly service we received in The area. If there were a couple more restaurant options or a few things that were less touristy, I would have given more stars.

Great little shopping center. Multiple shops open early most food isn't open until 11am. The shops carry a wide array of merchandise. There are also some street carts in the middle that are jam packed with products. We found magnets, stickers and shot glasses. Along with two small figurines. Plenty of seating and live music as well.

Not bad overall, though not a lot to choose from either. There are a few souvenir stands and shops, as well as your standard jewelry and liquor store. Not enough event activities though.

Really beautiful Port of Call, the market right by the port had plenty of vendors who unlike quite a few other ports in the Caribbean we're not pushy at all and we're very polite to deal with, shopped with several of the vendors while there, picked up several small souvenirs and some Caribbean coffee which I have enjoyed greatly and still have.

Nestled conveniently next to the airport, Lindbergh Bay Beach is a delightful spot for sun-seekers and families alike. This picturesque beach, often referred to as Emerald Beach due to its stunning turquoise waters, offers a welcoming atmosphere with lifeguard services and essential amenities like restrooms and a bathhouse. Just a short taxi ride from downtown Charlotte Amalie, it’s easily accessible for both locals and visitors.
This beach is right next to the airport. Free to park. You just pull right up and walk to the beach. There's also emerald resort nearby for you to get some food. There is also a small bar on the beach with music and fun toys to rent.

About the play area: The park is in pretty bad shape. Fence has been knocked down around the playground and the grounds need some loving care. Most of the parking is completely consumed by airport folks so even finding a place to park is tough. During my visit, the shelters were being used by a couple folks smoking pot. Skip it...nicer places to visit.

Walking distance from the airport. Can kill a little time if you find yourself with hours of flight delays…. Certainly not “special” in comparison to other area beaches. Just a place for killing time since there are zero options near airport.

Came to St. Thomas via a cruise ship. Been here numerous times and decided this time to change things up and visit Lindbergh Bay. Great decision. Beautiful beach. We had a nice relaxing day.
Cindy H — Google review
This beach is amazing with clear waters and soft sand. Whether you are alone or planning a family beach day, this beach is one if the most visited beaches in St. Thomas. During the weekdays, the beach is pretty much empty so if you are looking for a peaceful and meditative spot during your lunch break, look no further. If you are okay with a crowd and a little loud music the weekends are usually packed.
TeAhnnie L — Google review
Be carefully with the ones offering you beverages at the beach, some are taking advantage of tourists, they ask for money to go for drinks but then they disappear. Beach is beautiful, location is worth it, just be careful of locals.
Francisco P — Google review
Perfect for personal, couples and FAMILIES experiences! 1. The shorelines are super shallow, as parents your mind can be at ease knowing that your child could be about 3-5 yards out and still be able to stand (experiment for yourself for different heights will apply). 2. There is a jet ski company on the far right of the beach accessible for your adrenaline fun! 3. It’s a CLEAR & CLEAN beach, which makes it so beautiful to see at any time of the day Unless your willing to spend money on a chair, I do advise you to BRING YOUR OWN SEATINGS. Please do enjoy your stay! #Local

Points of Interest & Landmarks
The Hebrew Congregation of St. Thomas, the second-oldest synagogue in the Western Hemisphere, holds a rich history dating back to its establishment in 1833. Despite enduring several fires, this resilient symbol of Sephardic Jewish heritage features sand-covered floors representing ancestral courage. The Weibel Memorial Museum within showcases artifacts and images chronicling the island's Jewish community history.
My family and I went here on a vacation a while back, and it was so beautiful. The architecture is just magnificent, and the sand floor was such a beautiful touch. I remember also seeing an iguana, and it was extravagant. I definitely recommend visiting this place because it was such a wonderful experience for me and my family.

Certainly worth the visit to see the 2nd oldest Synagogue in the hemisphere. Sand floors are amazing. Only about 2 blocks off the beat and path of the main shops. Free to go in and take photos. Even if you not Jewish it's worth the trip if you appreciate such things.

Pretty awesome place. The second oldest Synagogue in the western hemisphere! The Synagogue floor is covered with sand. You'd think it's because the of the tropical location but actually it's just to make the service quite. The guide your is amazing. They are open for tourists again since the October 2020. Must see.

Pretty cool synagogue. We had a private tour that lasted about 20 minutes. It was free and informative. Worth the quick trip to see it.

Step back in time, not only when the chosen people were being persecuted by the nazies, but even further back as a surging nation gathering to worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

What a beautiful synagogue!! It was worth the trip up the steep hill. We went in because we were hot and tired and this was one of the few places on our self-guided historic walking tour that allowed you to go in. Inside we found a beautiful facility filled with so much history. There's a museum with lots of information and photos that tell the synagogue's story. The rabbi was there and actually greeted us and answered questions. The sand floor and why it has a sand floor was fascinating information. We stayed for quite awhile to take it all in.

I talked to the warden in my visit right after it opened at 9:30 am (on Dec. 27, 2023). The formal tour requires a minimum of 4 when there was only me. So, I was not really given a formal tour though the nice warden talked with me quite a bit on and off. But it seemed to me that he was worried about the security of the Congregation, presumably due to what had happened in Israel and Gaza. He told me quite a few things. When I asked him whether the sand on the floor was really symbolic for the Exodus of Egypt, he said that there might be 5 stories which are all true, including the fact that the sand wouldn't create much noise when the fishermen stepped in with their heavy boots 😀

Blackbeard's Castle, a hilltop watchtower built in 1679, offers visitors a unique experience with its 14-ft. Blackbeard sculpture and walking tours. While some attractions on the island remain closed, this Danish lookout tower provides an excellent 360-degree view of Charlotte Amalie and features a swimming pool for visitors to cool off. The property includes several houses and requires climbing numerous stairs, but the breathtaking views from the top make it worth the effort.
The castle and the stories were really awesome. Blackboard would twist gun powder in his beard and light it before going into battle to scare his opponent. Nice view of the harbor. Going down the hill were museum s and more stuff to look at.
Tom R — Google review
It is not really fair to rate this at all. Hurricane Irma had damaged it and it was closed when we climbed the "99 steps" and beyond. Even so the views were amazing as was the glimpses of the tower that dates to the 1600s. It appears the site is still closed, I"m sure due to the Hurricanes of 2018. I hope the tower is not too damaged and that they can open once again.
Davis J — Google review
Went here as part of a tour excursion on a cruise. Interesting. Not sure how tied to pirates the area is but the tower is very cool to climb and the they was great! All the way through the tour the guides were very knowledgeable about the buildings and their. History. They have a pool there that you can use if you want to.
Jeff M — Google review
Really loved view from the top of the castle and the backstory on Black Beard and the materials the castle is made out of. Loved the self-guided tours through the different houses and the Rum Tasting Tour is excellent. 70 different types of rum you can try, some available in the U.S. some limited to the Virgin Islands some available only in surrounding like Trinidad and Tobago, and Barbados. I myself was able to get through 32 rums before the liquor took over, you can really taste and feel the difference between the Sweet stuff and the very well aged rum. I will definitely make sure this tour is on my list the next time I come to St. Thomas.
Michael R — Google review
Probably one of the best things you can visit while you're here. $15 to get into the lot, and the panorama you can get at the top of the tower is worth it. The price also includes access to the historical buildings on the west side of 99-steps as well, which they don't tell you. The only room for improvement they have would just be increasing the quality of the guided tours, and of course letting you know what everything you're paying for includes.
Malcolm B — Google review
Best attraction in the island! $10 per adult and children free! They even have free wifi. The property has several houses and you will need to walk a lot of stairs, but if you're not going back up, all you need to do is let gravity do the work (we had a rental car we needed to go back to, so I felt the anger of the "99 steps"🙂). The view at the top of the tower is beautiful and a must-see (see pic attached). Even though it is a self-guided tour, each stop included a friendly employee that explained part of the history of what we were seeing. There's the tower, a few houses, and three pools you can even use! There's also some gardens and a statue of the "Three Queens of the Virgin Islands" (you'll need to visit to know the full story!) Definitely got our money's worth and would go every time I'd go back again!

The eco-attraction offers winding pathways with benches and gazebos, along with informative signs about the plants. Visitors can spot butterflies, hummingbirds, parrots, tortoises, and peacocks as they explore the 2-acre garden.
Beautiful quiet place with lots of shade and blooming orchids. 3 parking spaces right at the entrance. The lady was very friendly and informative, sharing compassion for local fauna and flora. Expect to see a lot of lizards, they also have a caged parrot and some tortoises. Lots of stairs so be prepared for a little workout. Beautiful!!!

This place is a quiet little paradise on the busy island of St. Thomas. Our family had a great time here. The flowers and other plants were beautiful and the birds and lizards were fun to watch. We met a small gecko from Madagascar that the very nice woman working told us hitchhiked in a delivery and had been hanging out. The lady working was very kind and so knowledgeable about the plants. Highly recommend for a nice quiet stroll away from the crowds!

Beautiful botanical garden on St. Thomas, USVI. The gardens are beautiful and filled with amazing plants, insects, and amphibians. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. Italian restaurant
Virgilio's is a charming Italian restaurant located on a shady backstreet in Charlotte Amalie. The restaurant offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, making it a favorite dining spot for many visitors. Additionally, the area around Virgilio's is home to other culinary gems such as Spanish-focused Amalia Cafe and Surf & Turf, which offers vegan options alongside its surf and turf menu. For those seeking stunning views and delicious seafood dishes, Fish Bar near Hull Bay is highly recommended.
Wow! 🤩 Incredible restaurant with equal parts Italian authenticity and genuine hospitality. Made from scratch Caesar salad for two 🤌🏼*chef’s kiss*. I had the salmon with dill cream sauce. My husband had the eggplant Parmigiana. The cheesecake- oh so creamy- and the flan was delicious as well. Would definitely recommend and we’ll definitely return. Thank you, Virgilio’s!

This is how great this place is, first of all I don’t do a lot of reviews and I usually wait until I am done. The ciopinno is absolutely amazing and I have had many cioppinos, from the birthplace of cioppino in San Francisco and other parts of the country. The flavors of the sauce is wonderful, spicy but not too spicy, not over savory. The seafood was cooked to perfection. My husband is currently eating the osso bucco and it is very very good. We have had our share of both of these dishes and so far this is the best. 5 stars all around, food, service and atmosphere. The only things we didn’t really like is when we received the bill, we were automatically charged a credit card fee and gratuity, they didn’t give us the option to pay cash or add the gratuity:(

Birthdays and anniversaries are a fun event, with songs that get the whole restaurant singing! Caesar salad 100% authentic with tableside service! (But min. 2 people—it serves 4 easily). Tables are cramped and even with reservations (must have) be prepared to wait. But well worth it. Excellent wine list. Yum!!!

Staff is very professional, they were also prepared for the power outage. Excellent food, soup served from an old school pot which was a nice touch. The restaurant is overwhelmed with paintings of different styles. A little pricey but the experience is worth it!

Very cute and nostalgic place. Drinks were amazing, I had a cosmo. Unfortunately we found a long string of hair in our appetizer that wasn’t ours so we cancelled the actual dinner food. My partner no longer wanted to eat there. I’m sure it was probably good but that dampened the experience for us. Also wait staff is very serious and not as warm. But maybe that’s the norm there.

Consistently delicious with incredible service and an intimate atmosphere. We return for girl’s nights, date nights, birthdays, and just an excuse to eat delicious Italian food. The table-side Caesar is delicious and fun to watch, the pastas and entrees are always delicious, and the espresso martinis and tiramisu are my favorite after dinner treats on island. They also make you feel super special for birthdays, with a big sparkler and music, the whole restaurant seems to chime in to celebrate with you. We’ll definitely return, it’s one of our favorite places, and

The Alfredo dish is from a graduation lunch I went to on the 23rd of May, and a week later, I went back on the 30th for my birthday, and had the Red Sauce dish!! Both dishes were delectable!! The garlic bread was good also, but I learned on my birthday that you must eat it right away because if you don't, it loses its crispness and becomes soft. However, when you take it home and reheat it, it gains its crispness back!! That part is a good thing so because if it wasn't like that and you reheated it, it would be way too hard to eat... Will I go back again, DEFINITELY SO!! They also have a walk-up window in the back, outside (on Back Street), so that if you can't dine in, you can order out or order ahead and pick-up!!!
Roni C — Google review
We were sent here on the recommendation from a bartender and I am so glad we listened. This place is amazing. From the attentive staff, to the fresh food, the art pieces and table side bananas foster. It was all perfect. Yes, it’s pricey but you get what you pay for and it was worth every penny. The restaurant was filled with large parties but we never felt neglected because there was only two of us. The food was to die for. We started with the table side Cesar salad, hands down best I have ever had. We will definitely be eating here again when we return to the island.

Gladys Café is a hidden gem located in the bustling tourist area of Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas. Tucked away in the Royal Dane Mall, this charming eatery offers refined Caribbean specialties within 18th-century native stone walls. Guests can savor dishes like conch fritters, jerk fish, and avocado stuffed with lobster salad while enjoying Gladys' homemade hot sauce and occasional impromptu singing performances.
Getting to this restaurant down an alley was a little sketchy but kind of fun, once you get inside you’ll be pleasantly surprised. Food was great, service was even better. Ms. Pauline was the sweetest, I would definitely recommend this gem.

Gladys’ Cafe is a cozy, family-owned spot tucked off Main Street. We stopped in for a quick breakfast while waiting for nearby stores to open. I had the 2-egg breakfast plate along with a Bahama Mama—simple, tasty, and reasonably priced. The next day, we originally planned to try a different restaurant, but it was closed—so back to Gladys’ we went. This time, I ordered the Oxtail Special. It was definitely good, but at $36 (as you’ll see in the photo below), it felt a bit overpriced. Overall, the food and atmosphere were enjoyable. It’s a great local option in a central location. Will I be back? Yes good food, solid vibes.
SAJ U — Google review
Gladys’ is our go-to breakfast spot whenever we’re in the VI! Unfortunately, we missed breakfast this time (island time got us 😅), but the food was still absolutely delicious. The only small letdown was the “spicy wings” — they were well-seasoned but definitely milder than expected. I was hoping for a real kick, but they seemed more tailored to the American palate. That said, everything else we ordered was fantastic. It always feels like an adventure heading into Gladys — the walkway lined with lush plants is just beautiful and sets the perfect island vibe. Still one of our favorite spots on the island!

Cute spot and opened on Sundays! Waitress wasn’t too familiar with the menu or food but he was great and had a positive attitude. Food came quick. I ordered the Cesar salad and it was delicious! The soups were blah. Had better and this taste canned. Coffee wasn’t good either.
Cya V — Google review
Unfortunately, I did not read the reviews until after my experience at the restaurant. I must say that the path leading to the restaurant is beautiful, absolutely picturesque. Seeing the atmosphere and walking through the alleyway on Sunday morning, I had high hopes for brunch at Gladys'. Yet, my hopes were quickly dashed due to the long wait for order taking, extremely rude Server, and nonexistent customer service. The server notified us that they were short staffed and she was performing multiple job responsibilities. She told us to hurry up and order and looked annoyed when we asked questions about the menu options. She asked us to be patient about the wait, but had no patience whatsoever for us. When our drinks were brought to the table, she informed us that one person's order wasn't available-no cranberry juice. We still felt the disregard and disrespect from earlier and decided to pay for our drinks, cancel our food order and leave. It's a shame they have someone so mean, rude and severely lacking in proper etiquette to represent this restaurant. I hope the owner reads this or someone who cares about that business reads it so they can make a positive change. The offender is near the beverage machine wearing all black clothes and pink crocs. I don't pay people to treat me poorly and we quickly left and went to Indigo 4 for a fantastic brunch and excellent customer service with a smile .
Rose M — Google review
I was so excited to try Glady's Cafe but it was not what I expected after the hype. The protein (curry chicken and steak) were good. The other items on our plate was just ok.. the sides lacked flavor.I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had. The service was ordinary as was the atmosphere.
Sherika S — Google review
The food was not worth it. Minimal seasoning and taste. I’ve had better curry and oxtails in the states. They closed at 3:30pm and we were waiting on our ride which came at 3:32 and they kicked us out and the lady was very mean and nonchalant about it. I would not recommend this place and for $36 I’m extremely disappointed in the oxtails. The curry goat did not taste authentic… everything was an extreme disappointment.
Kha'Breah R — Google review
Location and atmosphere are island in this cool, brick building. We had conch fritters, jerked chicken wings, stewed chicken, curry chicken, oxtail special, plantains, mahi mahi sandwich. We also sampled a few cocktails that were ok: pina colada, painkiller, and banana bailey coconut.

Pizza restaurant
Pie Whole Pizza, located in St. Thomas' Frenchtown suburb, offers excellent thin-crust brick-oven pies and a wide selection of premium brews. Their 13-inch pizzas come with various toppings made from fresh and house-made ingredients, including homemade sausage. The restaurant also serves a delicious freschetta, which is their take on bruschetta served on flatbread. Customers have praised the delicious pizza and generous portion sizes of dishes like the Chicken Parmesan.
We were totally shocked at how good the food was! Their marinara sauce is honestly the best I’ve ever tried. Very kind and friendly staff and owners. Highly recommend
Kaydee D — Google review
With most restaurants closed on Sunday, this place was a godsend. The Hurricane pizza may not be their best-selling item, but as their supreme option, it was good value for us at $29 for a large (14-inch) pizza (a decent price by USVI standards). The toppings slid off the slices, so we just piled them on and folded them up. Thin-crust pizza is easy to devour without feeling you’re going to burst. I also liked the 90s hip-hop playing on the jukebox. However, I’m knocking off a star because they seated us in a booth so cramped that my wife and I literally couldn’t sit across from each other. It was a kiddie-sized arrangement that shouldn’t be offered to adults without fair warning.

We absolutely loved the food here—every bite was delicious! The pizzas were fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. On top of that, the servers were incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience even better. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in St. Thomas!
Ruchi D — Google review
The food was pretty good. However, the service was completely lack luster. We were the only customers in there and it took about 5+ minutes for us to be greeted by anyone. The two women working were just talking behind the bar. We had to look over at them to finally get our order in. They also had a younger child in there that was one of the workers daughters that was playing on her tablet on full blast. It really hurt our experience. We couldn’t even have a conversation it was so loud. Overall based on sole experience I am giving this 3 stars but the food was a 4. Took a little long to get the food for being the only people but we are pleased with the quality.

Great little whole in the wall pizza shop! Has a good brick over pizza selection and service was excellent and friendly. Perfect place to stop on your way in or out of the St. Thomas airport.
Brett M — Google review
This restaurant was walking distance from our hotel and was listed on the map provided by the management. We selected this place for lunch and ordered the hurricane pizza (cooked in a real brick oven) . It was absolutely delicious!... more so than a lot of the dedicated pizza joints in Austin Texas (where we're from) and a lot of other places/cities for that matter. We will be back for dinner as they have several pasta dishes including fettuccine alfredo , stromboli, chicken parmesan, beef or shrimp tacos, wings, and much more. They have a full bar also. The very friendly wait person was personable and attentive. If we lived nearby, we would be regulars here. Prices were very reasonable...more so than some other nearby restaurants. But, MAN!...was that pizza good! [UPDATE] We returned for dinner. I had the stromboli and the wife had the penne arrabbiata. Both were delicious and HUGE portions. We each took half our order home. Sharing is recommended for small to medium appetites. We had a nice Argentinian Malbec along with our entrée. This is a small, low-keyed restaurant well worth your time (and money).

Went last night, husband got pizza and said it was great, didn’t take long to get. I ordered Chicken Parmesan at the same time as the pizza but it took much longer to get and since we were ready to go I boxed it up as soon as it got to the table. Today I reheated and the sauce is great , the chicken… no wonder it took so long to cook, this is the largest chicken breast I have ever gotten at a restaurant! This thing could feed three people, recommend getting this if you are a big eater or want a meal later. Excellent service and friendly staff.

Just recently relocated to St. Thomas found this small place, and it has become "that place" for me. It's great food. The pizza is THE best I've had. Service is perfect. And the people who work and hang out here are pretty damn cool people. I asked the pizza chef, Al, if he could make me a pizza with an Alfredo based sauce, chicken and veggies and cheese! This is it. . . Omg perfect!

If you're looking for a slice of paradise in St. Thomas, make sure to visit Dinghy's Beach Bar & Grill at Honeymoon Beach. This gem is not just a restaurant; it's an all-day adventure waiting to unfold! After a scenic 10-minute ferry ride from Crown Bay Marina, you'll find yourself on Water Island, ready to soak up the sun and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
Dinghy’s Beach Bar on Water Island was such a fun experience! We spent a few hours enjoying the beautiful surroundings, and it was a perfect day. The food was fantastic—we tried some appetizers and drinks, and everything was delicious. The kids had a blast playing in the water while we relaxed and soaked in the sun. The water ferry ride over added to the adventure, making the whole experience feel like a mini escape. The vibe at Dinghy’s is laid-back and welcoming, making it a must-visit spot for families and anyone looking to have a great time by the beach. Highly recommend!

Look up "perfect beach bar," and you probably find a picture of Dinghy's! This is one of my favorite spots in the USVI. Delicious food (esp the poke), ice-cold beers, perfectly-comcocted Painkillers, friendly staff, and toes-in-the-sand dining, all right on beautiful Honeymoon Beach on Water Island. A must-do while spending any amount of time in St Thomas, even if you are only in for a port day. The Water Island Ferry is a short walk from the Cruise Port at Charlotte or a short cab ride from the Havensight Cruise Pier. The ferry leaves every hour on the hour and only takes about 10 minutes. Once at the Water Island pier, a free shuttle (tip the driver, please!) takes you right to Dinghy's! Stop debating and go!

Quick ferry ride over from St Thomas. Had a great time and saw plenty of sea turtles. Bang bang shrimp is phenomenal! Fairly inexpensive to rent a beach chair and umbrella

Visited Water Island, Honeymoon Beach and Dinghy's Beach Bar & Grill on my first full day in St. Thomas. Dinghy's is brilliant, they offer a shuttle from the ferry directly to their slice of heaven. You can rent beach chairs, umbrellas, grab a drink and some of the best bang bang shrimp and fish tacos all from Dinghy's! The live music is perfect, as a solo traveler I felt very safe, and the bartenders are friendly. Service can be a bit disorganized and slow but on an island, where do you really need to be? Follow my growing youtube channel for more videos and reviews! Love and will return, GoCoCoGoxoxo

I am rating this beach as The Best in Water Island and St Thomas! The beachside restaurant was ok. Not outstanding but ok. We ordered several drinks including their classic creamy dinghy 🍹 and the bartender was very generous with those 😉😂 we also ordered the fries, chicken strips and bang bang shrimp but The star of the show was the crystal clear beach 🏝️ Oh my Gosh 😍

What a great bar restaurant.not cheap but really reasonable and the food was really good. The fried fish sandwich was excellent. The beach is so clean and calm. Just a great day at a quiet beautiful beach. 20$ water taxi rd trip to Water island and a free shuttle to Dinghys. The owner is the driver 😎 . Our favorite private beach in all the Caribbean. Plenty to do. Snorkleing w the turtles , kayaks or just chill.

Hull Bay Beach is a charming and laid-back destination with a large bar and food spot known as the Hideaway. Visitors are welcome to bring their own supplies but are encouraged to keep the area clean. The beach offers various amenities, including outdoor grills, bars, and music for entertainment. It's also an ideal spot for witnessing pelicans diving for fish and observing local fishermen at work during sunset.
This quiet, unassuming beach has amazing snorkeling. We saw turtles, cuttlefish, huge stingrays and tons of fish. The Shack restaurant is also right there, with excellent food and stiff, original drinks.

No problem navigating there. We arrived around 6 pm and it was packed! Not the beach but parking. Majority of people were at the bar - no wonder since they have excellent food and great cocktails! Beach is clean. We enjoyed a beautiful sunset there.

Great place for snorkeling. Found this beach to be less crowded than others. No cost to visit. Saw sea turtles, various fish, jellyfish, sea urchins, squid or octopus, or cuddle fish(?). Sand beach transitions to rocks before water's edge. Bring water shoes or flippers.

Beautiful beach! It seemed like more of a local spot! No chairs or umbrellas up! Lots of boats parked in the water! Very quiet and relaxing! The water is so clear! There’s a boat ramp and even a place to get drinks and food (The Shack) just right past the parking lot, which has plenty of parking.

We very much enjoyed Hull Bay Beach. Of you want to snorkel, go over to the west side. Tons of fish and the coral formations are cool. Plantation Crown and Hawk Botanical Garden is a stunning attraction in St. Thomas that has left many visitors pleasantly surprised. Despite being a bit out of the way, the meticulously maintained grounds and variety of exotic orchards, flowering plants, and trees make it a memorable stop. Visitors are advised to wear good shoes and be mindful of bugs, but the panoramic views and beautiful flora make it worth the visit.
My friend got married there recently. The views are amazing, the grounds are well kept and staff was friendly and helpful. I definitely would visit there again. It’s a great wedding location once you can afford to shuttle your guests in. Parking is very limited.

I am an island resident of 1+ year. If you're looking for a way to waste your money and time, this is it. This is by far the most disappointing experience on the island. I understand that this facility has been closed for about 2 years due to covid and lack of cruise ships, but they could have at least made SOME effort to spruce everything up before reopening. The walkways are clear, but many areas are closed or inaccessible. Almost every planter was empty. NOTHING was labeled and the leftover labels that do exist are almost fully illegible. The enclosures for the animals are pathetic and sad, which is the part that was the most upsetting about the whole experience. The gift shop was obviously an afterthought - dark, nothing was labeled, just kinda slapped in there. TL:DR: Go to the other botanical garden.
Mariah K — Google review
Sadly during the Covid pandemic this botanic garden has fallen on hard times. Grounds are poorly kept and signs identifying plants are faced out or none existent. Trails are poorly marked and what animals are present do not appear well cared for. Hopefully when more tourists return to the area upkeep will improve.

Magens Bay Trailhead

4.6
(115)
Hiking area
Nestled within the stunning landscape of St. Thomas, the Magens Bay Trailhead offers an adventurous escape into nature. This trail is part of the 319-acre Magens Bay Watershed, a protected area that showcases diverse ecosystems thanks to a collaboration between the Nature Conservancy and local government. Opened in 2004, this scenic route leads you through lush surroundings with plenty of shade, making it a pleasant trek despite its moderate difficulty level.
Great hike directly off Magens Beach. From the start of the trailhead to the top, it's approx 1 mile. Lots of roots, rocks, steep and uneven terrain, so wear sensible shoes. Go for a dip in the bay afterwards!
Vanessa G — Google review
Nice views from uphill, I saw a rather large iguana which was cool to see up close. Very windy at the end of December which made for good walking temps. It was also rainy but overall nice experience.

Great hike. Harder than expected. Best view from hard-to-find deck. Look for well worn spur 1/4 of way down on the right. Great view of our boat at anchor.
Dane C — Google review
All Trails listed this hike down to the beach as easy, but it's certainly a moderate. Steep most of the way but at least mostly shaded. We took a 7 year old and she had no issues. On the way back up with my 17 year old, only, we pushed hard and made it, soaked with sweat, in 22 minutes.
John R — Google review
Moderate hike. Steep hill in places. Rocky. Can be muddy and slippery after rain. There are a lot of crabs and lizards.
Brandi H — Google review
If you enjoy rocky, muddy, uncomfortable slogs through the jungle - especially with no payoff or satisfying view at the end - then this is definitely the trail for you. This trail, which ostensibly takes you to some sort of breathtaking Caribbean vista, does not, in fact, end at said vista. It goes from the parking lot at Magens Bay Beach, through some low swampy mangroves, followed by a rocky, ankle-twisting meander up steep hills and sweaty jungle lined with angry plants and resentful lizards, only to have it end in a quasi-parking lot at the top of the mountain. (No view from the parking lot, either.) Somewhere in the jungle, presumably, is a beautiful vista that is either moldering from having its access trail severed by hurricanes; or there is a secret access route known only to locals, and my non-native feet couldn't find it. Two stars because it is a perfectly traversable trail. Minus three stars because I don't enjoy hiking for hiking's sake, and I need some sort of beautiful vista destination to distract me from my throbbing joints and dripping sweat. If you're a granola-noshing trail-trotter who loves angry trees and embittered lizards, you may find this to be more to your liking. Good luck. Video is a poor Hermie crossing the trail whose mobility and joint issues resonated with me.

Not as good as other beaches in the Caribbean, when we were there lots of seaweed about $5 to enter the park, $40 for 2 loungers, parts of the beach not very safe especially in front of lifeguard Station, he advised us to go to the left to get into the sea as much safer. Public rest rooms were disgusting a small child with his father were in front of me and the child said the smell stinks father replied son you have to go others are waiting to use hold your breath and be quick. Little Magens Beach

Little Magens Beach is a secluded and quiet sandy extension of Magens Bay, offering a more intimate experience. To reach this spot, visitors can take a short walk from Magens Bay and head to the end of the beach where they will find a rocky shoreline. While it may be challenging to access, the beach offers a serene atmosphere with pristine sands. Amenities include lounge chairs, umbrellas for rent, picnic tables, decent bathrooms, and a bar and grille.
Beautiful. Easy snorkel or walk from Magens bay. Just be careful, nude sunbathing is allowed on this beach. Brought my kids and found that out the hard way. But very private and worth the trip.

Gorgeous! A must visit if you're in St. Thomas. $5 entrance free... But because of that the beach is spotless. Definitely need more bathrooms though! The only thing that was really annoying was that there was a big group event taking place while we were there and they were priority we felt like we were literally getting stepped on by the group and staff. Even though we were on the beach first, we got a little pushed out of the way for the group. We we're clearly in a bad spot, by we didn't know that when we laid down & we are still paying customers that deserve to be treated as such.

Magen’s Bay is hands-down one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever been to! The water is crystal clear and calm, perfect for swimming or just floating and relaxing. The white sand is super soft and clean, and the whole beach is incredibly well-maintained. There are great amenities like restrooms, showers, and a snack bar that actually has solid food and drinks. You can rent chairs, paddleboards, and even kayaks. The vibe is super chill—perfect for families, couples, or solo travelers. It was only a short drive from the cruise port, and well worth the small entrance fee. If you’re in St. Thomas and skip Magen’s Bay, you’re missing out big time. Can’t wait to go back!

Nice beach, semi private, nestled in the hills. Have to pay for lounge chairs, umbrellas, etc. Picnic tables are free. Decent bathrooms, and bar, and grille.

Gorgeous beach! We stayed for hours to enjoy the sand, surf and sunshine!

Very private and beautiful But be aware that it is a clothing optional beach, and for the most part, nude bathing is what you will find. Strongly recommend it.

Follow the cruise ship schedule and go during the week to avoid large crowds, the beach is gorgeous and the water is always perfect! It’s my home away from home, we come any chance we get.

Tillett Gardens

Art center
Tillett Gardens is a vibrant hub of creativity and local craftsmanship, originally established in 1959 by silk-screen artist Jim Tillett and his wife. This artsy enclave has blossomed into a diverse center where visitors can explore an array of handmade goods, including pottery, candles, jewelry, and artisanal foods. As you wander through the gardens, you'll have the unique opportunity to observe talented artisans at work on-site or even participate in workshops to create your own masterpieces.
It was fantastic. I was there for a week in July. I was in a four person bunk bed room, but lucky enough to be mostly alone most of my stay. It's clean, there's a reasonably well equipped kitchen, batbroom, AC both in the room and the common area. Everything is well taken care of by a great housekeeping person. There is a local restaurant, bar, a trinket shop, a few other amenities, great company, and cats. There's a parking area if you arrive by car, and it's also very close to the hub of the Island's local bus transit, the Safari buses. I really recommend riding one at least once, it's a fun experience. Nearby, there's the Tutu Park Mall, with lots of shops and a laundromat.

Depending on what you are looking for you might find it all here. Great new bar and restaurant, local shops and items you cannot find elsewhere. Good service in an outdoor open air garden setting. And depending on the night the entertainment can be the best on island. Looking forward to new stuff offered by the new restaurant team. The Margarita competition was perfect on National Margarita Day!

Restaurants are tasty, but the DJs they bring in are obnoxiously loud. Bro, it’s Wednesday evening, people are just trying to eat and you’re blowing ear drums out. Totally unnecessary…

Tillet is great. I love to go there and sit outside enjoying the gardens. There are a collection of great businesses there providing a variety of food options, a hair salon, art experience for all ages, an event space, & more.

Very cute hostel community, safe and centered great in between charolette Amalie and red hook for your st thomas stay! Staff is so friendly and if you're into an artsy /garden feel you'll fall in love with it too.

Love what they did with the place, however the restaurant is way overpriced for what you get unfortunately. However, the servers are lovely and accommodating despite the high prices

Amalia Café Restaurant is a charming open-air eatery in Charlotte Amalie, offering a delightful selection of tapas and classic Spanish dishes. The restaurant provides a sunny and atmospheric dining experience, making it an ideal spot to enjoy delicious food and wine. With its sophisticated yet affordable dining options, Amalia Café Restaurant stands out as a must-visit destination in the area. Additionally, the restaurant's sister-owned establishment, Surf and Turf, offers an inclusive menu featuring both meat-based and vegan options.
Manuel (Manny) was the perfect host for our wonderful dinner! He was very informative of not only the menu but also the local area. We started with red sangria— very good! The specials were so tempting, I didn’t even look closely at the menu; I knew exactly what I wanted. The grilled red snapper served over gnocchi and spinach was perfection. A friend ordered the paella while my husband had the snapper, as well. We made sure to save room for dessert which did not disappoint. I had the mango cheesecake, my husband had the bread pudding, our dinner mate ordered the sorbet. Can’t wait to go again to tackle the other yummy sounding dishes on the menu. Truly an incredible combination of originality (food) and friendliness (servers).

Food and service were both great. We sat outside where our waiter greeted us with a great big smile. Only wish it was tapas style because the entries portions where to big to order for lunch time of day.

We walked in without a reservation but our greeter kindly fixed up a side table for us immediately. It was not an ideal spot But, the food and service were really Outstanding! We ordered the grilled Octopus which I will never ever forget how good it was. We also ordered the stuffed lobster along with the Spanish Paella Valenciana and an amazing house salad. Excellent place! ✌🏼🤩❤️🦞

We had Cara as our waitress and omg we cannot say enough good things about her. She was knowledgeable in not only the food choices but also the wine selection. She recommended dishes to us but was never pushy and overall just a great listener. She was enthusiastic in the food they serve. It’s so hard now days to meet wait staff who care and are thrilled for you in trying their food. She made the meal even more enjoyable.

CARA IS AMAZING! We ordered so much food and all of it was delicious! The stuffed lobster was beautiful. The lamb chops were scrumptious. The paella was perfection. The serve the freshest sangria I’ve ever tasted. Fresh bread, great salad. The perfect experience

The food and atmosphere are great, service was amazing as well. We went for a special date night and I thoroughly enjoyed the romantic atmosphere. My boyfriend and I split a handful of tapas including the escargot, octopus, mussels, and got a nice Caesar salad as well. The affogato and espresso martinis were great for dessert. We will definitely be back!

This is our second time coming here, and we have never been disappointed by the food or service. The wife had the seafood pasta, which, by the way, is not on the menu, but the chef will make it if you ask nicely, and I had the ribeye steak. Both meals were very satisfying and a treat. Our waitress was excellent and very attentive. We never had to ask for more water or wine in our glass. This place has some of the best food and service I've ever experienced and will always visit when in St. Thomas.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful dining experience in St. Thomas, look no further than Sabroso Restaurant. This gem is celebrated for its exceptional and reasonably priced local cuisine that truly captures the essence of Caribbean flavors. Guests rave about their pot fish dish, crafted from freshly caught local fish, and the signature blackened salmon that has garnered quite a following among locals and visitors alike. The atmosphere at Sabroso is warm and inviting, with friendly waitstaff who make you feel right at home.
Sabroso is one of my favorite restaurants on the island (St. Thomas, U S Virgin Islands) where we can find local food for dinner. Tonight we all had the Fried Red Snapper (that was seasoned to perfection) with various sides. Although, I have been here several times tonight was the first time trying dessert and the Carrot Cake was moist and delicious. The birthday girl truly enjoyed her meal. Sabroso is located on the Waterfront with inside and outdoor dining.

Food was great!!! It was my wife and I first time there. Seating was great and the air conditioning was set at a comfortable degree. There was a big group that slowed down the progress in the kitchen smh we waited about an hour for our food to come out. Wife food was cold so they had to take it back to reheat it. No military discount offered at this establishment :(...

The food was delicious, plentiful, and affordable The music was comfortable and, plenty of free parking. So conveniently located near an ATM, Safari (public transportation), hotel, across from the waterfront, with shoppinh near by, and next to the campaign headquarter's of Molito Smith, governor hopeful. Our waiter was superb. He was patient and polite, and attentive to our party of 8. I will defiantly return.

This was absolutely the best meal I (we - my Wife and I) had on the Island! If you are very hungry, go light on the appetizers and save your surprise for the entre! I had the stuffed lobster and it was a true delight! I don't want to say too mush and ruin it for you, so just go be pleasantly surprised! Food and service with a smile!

The food was good and the staff and owner was great! The only problem I really had was that I had reserved for a large party and was hoping to get a server for the 2 tables. The waitress did her best but we did have to wait longer for everything.

Came to st thomas for 4th of july weekend, we ate at a few different spots but Sabroso was the best. The food , service and ambiance exceeded my expectations. Will definitely go back, mussels and chicken wings for appetizers ,lobster as main course was so appetizing I started eating before I could take a pic...the mac and cheese is a must !

Sea La Vie is a charming and cozy restaurant located in Frenchtown, offering an intimate dining experience with limited seating. The staff is known for their exceptional service, creating a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. The menu features a well-curated selection of American cuisine with global influences, complemented by an impressive wine list. Reservations are highly recommended due to the restaurant's popularity and delightful ambiance overlooking Cruz Bay.
This is such a great restaurant! My husband and I dined here twice during our vacation in St. Thomas. All the servers (Amy, Cara, Courtney and Denise ) were incredibly friendly! And the food is absolutely delicious! Best appetizer is the diver scallops so we had it on both visits.

Lovely evening at Sea La Vie. Not pictured are the delicious cocktails and appetizer of apple braised pork belly. I enjoyed the best dirty martini I’ve had in a long time (thanks Matt!). They have an impressive wine selection, we were happy to find one of our favorite bottles on the menu. As for our entrees, we tried one of the specials which was veal chops with a peppercorn sauce and fried onions, and one of their regular menu items, the frutti di mare. The veal was perfectly tender. Per our server’s recommendation, we added half a lobster tail to the frutti di mare. The dish had such a light, buttery flavor and their house made fettuccine was the perfect thing to soak up all the goodness. While it might not seem possible, we did save room for the dessert- I suggest you try and do the same. The passion fruit key lime pie was just the thing to finish off the evening! This is a beautiful, intimate restaurant with limited seating, I would recommend calling ahead for a reservation. Or you could always try for a spot at the bar. Every single member of the team at Sea La Vie are absolutely delightful. They did not skip a beat. You can really tell when the staff believes that the food they’re serving is of high quality and truly delicious. Our server, Kara, was so kind and helpful and really made the whole experience so wonderful.

❤️❤️❤️ this place!! Cody and Courtney are the perfect hosts, runs a great restaurant. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! We had calamari and bread for appetizers, difference is the sauce they give you. We had the Gorgonzola which can top anything! On to entree and I had the special of the day which was grouper with rice and veggies, the boys had steaks (juicy tender perfection ) and salmon. Everything was good. If you’re looking for a. Place to become your special whenever you visit USVI, make sure to check out Sea la Vie. Hook line and sinker is great and real tourist place, but Sea la Vie is one of those gems that are special. Great food, great ambience, local feeling, great wine selection, and great cocktails!!

We enjoyed Sea La Vie as the last restaurant we visited while on our family vacation. They don’t normally allow kids, but they allowed us to bring our tweens and older teens this time, since it was in the off season. There’s no kids menu, but our kids were cool with sharing the larger adult menu items. I loved my half lobster with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the vegetarians in my family had a salad and Brussels Sprouts. Extended family enjoyed their beef entrees with baked potatoes and fish & chips. Crème Brûlée was yummy, as well as cheesecake and brownie soufflé with ice cream. Our martinis were fabulous. It was nice to see Chef come out to acknowledge us, as well as the owners, who were very kind. This is a small restaurant with great food, wonderful atmosphere, and all kinds of heart! From one restaurant owner to another, I appreciate seeing the “mom & pops” engaging. Will definitely return.

The service and atmosphere were superb. The dishes were interesting and sophisticated. I was not blown away by the food, but I can’t deny that it was expertly prepared. I would highly recommend this place for an elegant and cozy dinner.

If I could give this restaurant 6 out of 5 stars, I 100% would! It. Was. AMAZING. Vibe was great, owner seated and waited on us at the bar and was SO pleasant and nice, and service was fast too-admist having a huge party seated in restaurant at same time. But the FOOD was possibly the best meal I have had in my entire life. We started with the calamari, which was so fresh, then for main courses the porkchop is TO DIE FOR and the filet was able to be cut WITH A FORK. Sides were all perfect, delicious and nothing was over-seasoned. And don’t get me started on the passionfruit keylime pie…delectable!!! I can’t say enough about this little gem of a restaurant!!

Virgin Islands Coffee Roasters is a small-scale coffee roaster located on St. Thomas, offering freshly roasted and packaged beans for an authentic caffeine fix. Visitors can enjoy their coffee at the cafe near the cruise port, where they also serve ice cream, Belgian waffles, fruit teas, and locally brewed coffee beers. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, ready to assist with recommendations or answer any questions about their excellent selection of whole bean varieties.
My partner and I always buy these coffee beans whenever we visit the island. This is honestly some of the best coffee beans I have ever purchased. If you love fresh dark roast coffee, I recommend the Sumatra Mandheling.

Away from home and our favorite coffee house in Sacramento, California, Sana’a Cafe, we are enjoying the best coffee house in St. Thomas, Virginia Islands Coffee Roasters. This unique flavor of Rock City Medium Roast, has the taste of smooth milk chocolate and stone fruit. They have many other unique flavors to try. Bottom line is they only do one thing and they do it right! Their expertise and passion for coffee is realized in the first sip. Preston is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and really enjoys working here. If you’re looking for good coffee, this is a no brainer. I highly recommend this place. I just wish our resort, Wyndham Limetree Beach Resort or all Wyndam resorts, would offer this coffee in their rooms. But nonetheless, it’s only a skip and a hop from the resort. My husband and I enjoyed the coffee. We will definitely be here every day to support this local Coffee Roaster. ❤️❤️❤️
Deanna M — Google review
Whenever I travel, I make it a custom to bring home fresh local roasted coffee to help support those providing fresh roasted coffee options to the local businesses. Not only do I find it cheaper, but also it allows me to bring home coffee as gifts, grind it to my process preference, and have a subtle reminder of enjoying a very nice smooth cup of coffee over a memorable atmosphere. Thank you for having a knowledgeable staff, samples available, lots of coffee bean options (fair trade and single origin) at a very affordable price for the quality of bean and roast, and easy access from the cruise port. I was honestly worried I wasn't going to find coffee to bring back home as all the other locales were either pre-ground, not freshly roasted, and double the price. Double bonus, they offered pour-over travel coffee packs, so I can enjoy an upgraded cup of coffee on the boat if I choose not to hit the onboard espresso bar. That being said, a stop here is a very niche experience and for those who are strictly looking to feed their personal need for coffee in their home setting or as gifts, but making a $10 purchase allowed me to walk away with a free iced coffee that was amazingly smooth that I just sipped in the harbour enjoying the soft breeze and view. Looking forward to stopping here again if I ever make it back to St. Thomas.

What a phenomenal roaster! Hubby got a cup of the “sweet, sweet Java juice” and said it is the “best brewed coffee” he’s ever had. We left with lots of beans and a few yummies too! We can even order once we get home. p.s. We found the actual coffee shop in St Croix and OMGOSH my espresso was soooo good!
Clara N — Google review
Very good service and a nice selection of coffee and merchandise. The prices were reasonable and what I would expect at any coffee shop. The outdoor seating created a pleasant way to start the day and enjoy some coffee before heading off to spend time with family and friends.

We did this our last day in St. Thomas and what a way to end the trip!! We’re huge fans of escape rooms and this was next level! We had wanted a pirate theme, but I’m so glad this was all that was available because it was super fun and immersive with the augmented reality. Our guide “Agent Schultz” was awesome and made the whole experience so much fun! It was a really great way to see so much of the island and experience some fantastic local spots as well as learn a little history along the way. I can’t wait to come back and try the rest of their hunts and highly recommend anyone who loves some good fun and puzzle solving to sign up!

We did this today and had a great time. Rich did a great job with us and was great. We kept moving at a good pace, while learning knowledge and seeing some great views. We had a couple of drinks and a free appetizer along the way. We saw some great views but was fun and very interesting. McDonald our taxi driver was very polite and filled us with even more knowledge about the island. I would definitely recommend this activity as all the costs were included in the one price so you didn’t have to pay as you go for entry into each site.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had the most incredible time with Tropical Treasures Hunt Co, and our guide Anthony truly made the experience unforgettable! From start to finish, Anthony was friendly, knowledgeable, and full of energy. He made every moment engaging—sharing fascinating facts, pointing out hidden gems, and making sure everyone felt included and comfortable. His enthusiasm was contagious, and you could tell he genuinely cared about making our adventure special. The route was well-planned, the challenges were so much fun, and we left with great memories and even better smiles. Highly recommend booking with them—especially if you’re lucky enough to get Anthony as your guide!

Our tour guide was Jess, she was amazing and fun. She interacted well with the kids and adults. She set us on the path and we took it from there. The Golden Age Of Piracy Treasure hunt we went on was fun and good for young kids. Nothing too difficult, but it gavs the ability to check out some history along with the Pirates Museum. Jess went above and beyond for us and made this day very special. I had Jess place a message in bottle in the final treasure chest which was found at the end of trip. The letter was a proposal letter to my amazing girlfriend. She said yes, which is good. Jess hid nearby and took some great photos for us. She went above and beyond for us. Would defintely recommend to others.

Anthony has created something special here! The Tropical Treasure Hunt was so fun! Our family of 12 (Ages 2 to 65) had a blast searching for treasure. Aunt Bonnie was such a fun addition!! Everyone in our group loved her. My nephew talked for awhile about her parrot and how he only likes kids. 😁 The drinks were great, the chicken wings were tasty, and we all would do it again in a heartbeat. Thanks Anthony for being a great highlight to our trip!!

We booked the Golden Age of Piracy treasure hunt for our day in St. Thomas over the March Break. It was fantastic. Anthony was so easy to work with and was super accommodating when our numbers changed, and the treasure hunt itself was great. My son absolutely loved digging up the treasure at the end, and it was an awesome way to learn a bit about piracy in the Caribbean in an engaging and fun way. We will absolutely be booking another treasure hunt when we return to St. Thomas next year!

We live on the island and had a large group of people come on island for our wedding. We decided that Tropical Treasure Hunt would be the perfect group to entertain our wedding guests and show them a good time on the island. They were wonderful! They were in constant communication with my husband whenever we had any questions or needed to make changes. They accommodated my disability and were just lovely people. It was an absolute blast! They took care of transportation for our group, the actual treasure hunt was fun and informing about the island's history which I just love. The kayaking was amazing. It was at night and there is just no light pollution in the area we were so it was nothing but starts. It was beautiful. I was so stressed from the wedding and coordinating that many people on an island but with Tropical, I was able to breathe and completely enjoy the day and relax. I recommend them to anyone who wants a fun filled day on the island. They offer several different treasure hunts and I can't wait to try different ones.

We brought our 2yr old here and he LOVED it. So many great toys for multiple ages. They have a cute farm stand pretend play station, train table, science section, soft room for littles, huge water table, and an indoor play gym! This is my new favorite place to take children. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They speak with the children and help them to become curious about the exhibits. It is ac. The water table is my favorite and then the colored pegs and the dance room. All children should go visit!!

We just happened to stumble upon this wonderful childrens museum. My mother, son, and I spent 2 hours there and my son didn't want to leave. It's air conditioned and steered towards smaller children. We had a blast!

Very cool place for local art while visiting St. Thomas. Great souvenirs at any price range. If you are on island last Saturday of the month, be sure to attend their "Party in the Parking Lot" featuring FREE live music, appetizers, wine, fun, friendship & fine art.

There is tons of art to see and buy, from cards and jewelry to wall paintings and home decor pieces. The owner was friendly and knowledgeable. Great variety of pieces and prices. The gallery was cute and small, a little dusty, and smelled of cigarette smoke. I loved seeing pieces from Africa, especially the masks.

Friendly and unpretentious with an interesting selection of local artists. They have originals and prints and you can probably find something to make you happy no matter what your budget. They also carry many Caribbean style decorations like baskets and tin ware.

Jane is absolutely delightful. She is genuinely friendly and knowledgeable in the stories behind each piece of art. We left with more than we imagined we would, but no worries because Jane shipped everything to us. Will go back on our next visit to St. Thomas.
