Park
Fundidora Park is a public park located in Monterrey, known as the Museum of Industrial Archeology. It offers various amenities such as play areas, walking trails, an arena, and Sesame Street Park for family entertainment. The park also features modern architecture with the Santa Lucia River Walk, a 3km navigable artificial river connecting to Macroplaza by boat.
This is a fantastic place to take a stroll while getting away from the metropolis for a bit. We walked a lot and felt Very safe the entire time. This very large open space park has multiple entrance points. We walked here all the way from the starting of the Rio Santa Lucia, back at the downtown area of Monterrey. It was a long walk but didn’t seem so. Here, you’ll find plenty of shaded places to sit and relax. They have good clean restrooms, as well as places to buy typical street food snacks. They do have a high end restaurant that requires reservations and a lookout point. We didn’t do either of these. We walked all the way to the Puente Verde which is a pedestrian bridge over the main highway.

Super great park to go as a family, ride bike, or go for a run. An artificial lake goes through a portion of the park making it a very pretty scene while walking by, towards the largest land mass of the park you’ll find a big track and within it many entertainment and cuisine options to match your desires.
Marino E — Google review
Awesome third space in Monterrey. Serene mornings with birds chirping, squirrels playing and pure greenery. Great break from the bustling cityscape. Also hosts fun activities and is absolute must visit for cyclists, joggers and skaters on the weekends. Having been converted from an erstwhile Fundidora (Foundry), there's industrial museum inside and there are other industrial artifacts that can be seen without entry fees. An artificial canal gives ferry tours to Santa Lucia. Makes for great weekend morning walks especially due to potable water and clean restrooms always close by.
Pratik P — Google review
Really enjoyed visiting Fundidora Park! Neat to see the old steelworks and industrial buildings repurposed into a public space. The park is exceptionally clean and well maintained, with plenty of vending machines and spotless playground equipment for families. The outdoor workout stations were a nice bonus, and it’s a great place for a stroll around the museums. Lots to see and do while still feeling peaceful and open.
Paul D — Google review
This park is beautiful, quiet, safe, and open terrific hours. I was in Monterrey on a business trip and walked and ran in the park daily, it was an amazing location, well used by so many for relaxation and exercise alike.
Kristofer A — Google review
This is a nice place to take a long walk and grab a bite on a food cart. It is common for Fundidora Park to have special one-time or short-running events (exposition, conventions, plays, etc) which are worth checking. Price Warning: Food carts here have high prices given its popularity. Parking Warning: There are lots of parking space and it is still not enough. Disclaimer: I am not a fan of the expositions' prices, and considering I live far from here adding transportation (traffic being a factor) I rated it three stars. If you don't consider these reasons to be a big factor, this could be a four star spot. Traffic Warning: If you are arriving or exiting late at night, be ready to feel "parked in traffic". It is that bad on at least a three block radius.
Miguel A — Google review
Definitely a place you want to check out. The park is very vast with a bunch of food options. And it really stands out from the city center in terms of atmosphere. The mix of mountains and factories and greenery is quite unreal.

Interesting history of the area, were was a huge steel foundry in the past. Rebuild to a park for the citizens with several attractions and amusements.

Paseo Santa Lucía is a modern riverside promenade in Monterrey, Mexico, stretching for about 2.5 kilometers along the Santa Lucia River. Built in 2007 as part of a city celebration, it meanders through downtown up to Parque Fundidora. The area is filled with bars, restaurants, and nightlife spots and also houses the Catedral Metropolitana de Monterrey and the Museo de Historia Mexicana.
Nice experience at Monterrey. It would be good experience in Monterry City, and you can enjoy walking inside Fundidora Park with nice view.

Beautiful scenery and rich culture. Boat tour tickets open at 10AM and first boat ride is at 1030. It costs $120 pesos or about $6.50 USD for adults. Plenty of room, bring hat and sunscreen. You can get off at the end point and come back later on another boat or you can ride round trip.
Amanda G — Google review
Definitely a spot, local and Intl. tourists shall visit. Unfortunately, the boats tour only had a spanish speaking captain. So I couldn't understand most of the explanations. But my Mexican companions explained a bit about the history of this area.

I was in Monterrey for a business trip and stayed close to Parque Fundidora and Paseo Santa Lucia, I walked here every day. It is a beautiful place to relax and exercise. It's very clean, safe, and has a lot to offer someone who wants to enjoy being outside. I would highly recommend walking through if you have the chance.

Cute little boat ride. They describe what you see along the way. The wait time was about 30min which wasn't bad. They have senior citizens price. My daughter was free, and kids under a certain age are half price

Beautiful place! Went on the boat ride for less than $10 USD. We got off at the Macroplaza and were able to explore. Lots of local clothing and candy to take back home! Got back on the boat to head back to Parque Fundidora. Definitely recommend!

Amazing place. It’s a must visit both during the day and night it transforms. Very safe. It takes a full day to really enjoy it. Take walking shoes minimum 10000 steps. Lots of great restaurants rich in history, very nice locals. Great safe vibe. Rent a bike , take the barge ride

Macroplaza, located in the heart of Monterrey, Mexico, is a massive public square covering 99 acres and surrounded by iconic landmarks. The plaza features monuments, fountains, and gardens and is flanked by museums and other significant buildings. One of its main attractions is the Faro del Comercio tower which emits a striking green light into the sky at intervals.
Nice place to relax and experience the local natives in their environment. Plenty of street food vendors, e entertainment & Parks for the children. Not to mention the beautiful river walk that can take you on a tour and sightsee in style.
Sal G — Google review
A very good place to be with people, family and friends. One thing I noticed there's no restrooms around, a lot of trash around the place, overall, this place is a good place eat and have fun.
EL T — Google review
This is one of the most iconic places to visit in town. Here you will find some important buildings and government offices, the municipal palace, the old municipal palace (now a museum), the state government palace (that also includes a museum section), the commerce lighthouse with its powerful laser ray on top (it can only be seen at night), the Neptune fountain and mamy, many other cultural attractions to spend a whole weekend wandering around one of the oldest part of town, the so called "barrio antiguo". There are plenty of parking lots around, no problem with that.
Mafm71 — Google review
Reportedly the fifth largest city plaza in the world, this is indeed a wonderful walking area, diverse in what it has, with especially my favorite the Neptune water fountain. This plaza adds a great atmosphere to the experience and wonderfulness of Monterrey. This public space is about 400k square meters (~100 acres), with the Government Palace on the southern end (closer to the Rio Santa Catarina) as well as the Metropolitan Museum of Monterrey, and stretching to the north with the LABNL Lab Cultural Ciudadano and the Museum del Palacio / Palacio de Gobierno del Estado Nuevo León (which is absolutely gorgeous especially at night). There are a number of statues, with my favorite being the Monumento al Trabajo (Monument to Workers), as my degree is metallurgical engineering, and also as a director / manager, I’ve much appreciation for those that labor in the front lines. Of course the before mentioned Fuente de Neptuno is inspiring, and also lol refreshing as its mist helps take some of the heat away on the downwind side. There are dozens of street vendors, food to handmade crafts, all selling their products. You will also hopefully catch various performers such as fire dancers, and guitar or saxophone musicians. I was also able to see dancers performing outside part of the Teatro de la Ciudad one evening. The library Biblioteca Central Estado Fray Servando Teresa De Mier is also nearby, but sadly I was not able to visit it. Many athletic events have their start / finish here too, including a major triathlon along with a 5k/10k event, the former being a significant undertaking with participants coming from many other countries, and the latter likewise large organized by the nearby gorgeous Catedral Metropolitana de Nuestta Senora de Monterrey. To the east of the northern area is a large walkway with neat street lamps that takes you to the interesting Museum of Mexican History, along with the western end of the stunning and cool Canal de Santa Lucia, which is itself an awesome walkway. To the east on the southern area is the likewise wonderful area of Barrio Antiguo, which has awesome tasty restaurants and many nightclubs and cool theater. To the west on the southern area is the walking only pathway José Maria Morelo, which has its own flavor of vendors snd shops too. I am so jealous and sad that my hometown of St. Louis, Missouri doesn’t have anything close to what this amazing city public area has… so vibrant, full of life and culture and wonderful people.
Rob T — Google review
Definitely a spot to visit in Monterrey as it shows the modern side of cultural city.
Andy E — Google review
We paid for parking only to discover this is not wheelchair accessible from the parking lot. We ended up leaving as a result. I came back on a separate day and it had a church service... But other than that it's full of street vendors and walkable

The menu offers a variety of options including barbacoa, crispy or soft tortillas made from corn or flour, and fillings such as cabeza, pierna, chicharron, picadillo, and more.
Really great and tasty morning breakfast style tacos. The chile relleno was my favorite. It’s directly across a cemetery and parking is a bit tight. Great service and taste.

They say Michelin star recognized place but in my opinion nothing special about these tacos... My favorite was the Chile relleno with cheese otherwise pretty standard tacos... Wouldn't make a special trip to find this place.

I went there to order the guy that pretend he speak English confused the bell out of me and brought me the wrong order twice and they he started to be sarcastic and tried to be funny with with cashier and the workers if there was no like I won’t be able to eat the taco my mistake I followed the guy on your tube who recommended the place not a good choice I advice them to learn how to use translator rather than try to be smart and talk English also to respect the customer and not laugh at them.

I'm so impressed with their marketing. But what's even better is the flavorful meats. The Chicharrón is my favorite. Then the crunch of the tacos tops it all it off.

One of the best red-meat restaurants in Monterrey, without question! Ask for the 3/4" Rib-Eye medium well. It is spectacular! And also ask for siders of Guacale Artichoke and Fresh Panela cheese crust on the grill! (Picture below) Awesome!!!!
Luis M — Google review
Excellent food. Best mojitos I've had in a while. The salad did have too much dressing, so I'd order the dressing on the side. Also the tequila based cocktails had a bit too much salt for our taste. The rest of the meal was great enough to overlook these minor issues.

I loved the decoration of the seats for the Addams family show in the attention of the staff. Overall, it was a nice venue with good seating and it was easy to view the show. Sometimes the sound was a bit off, like the theater didn’t have surround sound or something? Everything sounded like it was coming from the stage. And while yes, the performance is on the stage, something felt off like I wasn’t getting the full impact of the music.

Rufino Tamayo Park is a green oasis in Monterrey, offering a variety of activities for the whole family throughout the year. The park features benches, cafes, mature trees, and a popular loop trail. It promotes wellness and provides opportunities to connect with nature and experience art and culture. Visitors can adopt a tree through the park's program to attract more fauna species. Additionally, there's an organic market called El Huerto de Rufino where locally made products are available.
Beautiful little park for short walks with the family. The views are nice and there is free parking available. There is a disc golf course at the park, but there were a lot of people sitting in the middle of the holes picnicking/hanging out. If it were me, I would not play here due to random people all over the course.

Lovely park! Great place to walk the dogs and the vibe is dog lovers. There is a fenced in dog park and some let there dogs of the lead in the park in general. In the eve there is a coffee shop and you will see dancing classes and an variety of eclectic experiences throughout the week. Very safe with a police on site and cameras...this park is in the wealthy side of Monterrey, well maintained with clean bathrooms. Enjoy!!!
Seth D — Google review
Very nice park for a walk, work out, a dog-walk, coffe, picnic or just chill out and relax. Park is overall very well maintained, green grass, well maintained walk paths, clean and well maintained restrooms. It has a couple of core work-out stations, disc-golf, a fenced dog-park area for unleashed dogs, large green open spaces, a nice coffee shop, etc. The only down side was that there were many people with unleashed dogs in the non-dog-park area and not picking up after their dogs, park staff doesn't really enforce that at all and there are just a very few signs around the park. All in all a great option to stop by if you live around the area or if you are just visiting the town.
H G — Google review
I usually enjoy spending time at this park. Although not very large, it has adequate areas to sit and relax, lawn spaces to play outdoor games, and a fenced area where dogs can roam freely. Personally, I prefer to walk or run along the outer loop which is a bit under one mile. A couple of laps should provide a good workout. You could visit for activities alone or with family and friends.

The Basílica de Nuestra Señora del Roble is a significant basilica in Monterrey with a notable bell tower and an intricately designed interior of marble and stained-glass windows. It is admired for its attention to detail, exemplified by the large bronze doors that depict the church's origin story. Although a wedding prevented further exploration, the basilica remains a beautiful and well-preserved historical site.
Love visiting the basilicas. There’s so much pride and attention to the smallest details. Walked through the church, the doors were huge, made of bronze, & depict the story of how the church came to be.

Absolutely beautiful, especially when the skies are clear, without smog or such. The diversity of flora and fauna here is wonderful. Have hiked a couple times from the bottom to the level with the hotel / restaurant and playground, and also hiked around the level 3 & 4 trails by themselves too on other occasions after we have driven partially up and parked. My goal is to hike to one of the paths to the very top areas, but need some extra time (and of course the extra fee permit). This is a special gem for the cities and the people. I would be hiking here so often if I lived in the area. Lol but I’m not sure if I’d have the stamina and energy to ride my bike up nor even down. Nevertheless, a gorgeous mountain park with spectacular views.

Very beautiful Park. The views are incredible. There are a series of paths with different effort levels. I totally recommend visiting it. Preferably arrive early in the morning to expend the whole day here.
Enrique Z — Google review
Nice park, recommend to purchase ticket before arrive. Many trail to select. Many great view and animal.
Tangmo S — Google review
Astonishing views, trails for all hiker levels, a bunch of nature and nature sounds is what you can expect. My experience there was amazing, we hiked for a total of ~6 hours (4 to get to the top of El Final and 2 getting back down)... Choose wisely the trails you'll hike the "scenery" one are less inclined but way longer whereas the "Express" ones are shorter but high inclination. My tips: - Buy entrance tickets in advance (~$70mxn) on the website - Bring water and/or water bottles. You don't need tons of water, bring one and then refill as you progress on your adventure from the water fountains - Bring bug repellent (this is nature so expect mosquitos) - Bring sunscreen : wear some before you start but as you'll be (most likely) sweating, you might need to apply a second or third time - Bring lunch / snacks : there are no stores wo you'll be able to eat ONLY what you bring. If your hike lasts more then be prepared with some food/snacks

Well worth it! It's was a 9 minute drive to the park entrance from our hotel, Autentico. We paid online 70 pesos each, uber dripped us at the entrance and we did a beautiful hike. We did the express route which is about 5k up and down, it is well marked and impossible to miss. There is also the easier route which is longer but much less steep. This is great for a morning hike or evening, stellar views, pine trees, woodsy feel, clean trail, and a hotel at the tip if you want to eat or have a drink. Will do a again

Amazing. You can walk, ride or run with an incredible view. Take your time to rest amd enjoy the nature. One of the best views of Monterrey, just less than 20 min far from downtown. There is a hotel and restaurant.

Breath-taking views. Bring a good camera. Also the Chipinque hotel is at the very top at the end of the road. Lots of rest stops for pictures, restrooms, picnic areas and play areas for the kids. Good hiking and biking trails all for less that $5 American.

Restaurant
La Embajada, a high-end establishment with an outdoor patio, offers unique and imaginative interpretations of steak, seafood, and tacos. The venue's homemade salsa is customizable to one's desired level of spiciness. Patrons can relish in the cool breeze while enjoying cold beers alongside delectable dishes such as octopus that is flawlessly cooked and seasoned. The appetizers showcase a range of options including guacamole with crickets, ceviche, salmon, and tuna.
Rib eye tacos are fine, your plate will come with 4. I always ask for water bottle closed and they bottle that arrive to may table as not closed, it was not purified water, customera know when you give them the wrong thing; so ask always for closed bottle water, and do no accept them wrong, ok!! They have good service, and food is fine.

It is a restaurant with great mood and service. But the food tastes normal.

Wow wow wow. Stunning views, beautiful atmosphere and attentive staff. Loved loved loved all the food we tried. It was amazing! My Tio and Tia brought me here while we visited from California. We loved every bite and truly enjoyed our experience. I will definitely be back when I'm in Monterrey. ❤️

Really enjoyed all of the appetizers, cervesa to the point we did not order dinners. Salsa was home made to desired heat level on the spot. Many different types of appetizers from guacamole with crickets to tacos, ceviche, salmon, tuna, it was all good.
John M — Google review
Had a wonderful work dinner on the outdoor patio. Nice cool breeze with cold beers and delicious food. I even tried the crickets…which surprisingly wasn’t too bad. Just a little salty but packed with protein. I ordered the octopus as my main and it was a whole octopus. Sorry the picture is only part of the octopus! I got too excited to eat it when it arrived. Was so tender and perfectly cooked and seasoned. All the tacos were delicious as well.

Came here for lunch with coworkers. The food was very good. The salsa for the chips was amazing. I want to buy a bottle. Service was okay.

Italian restaurant
Cenacolo San Pedro, located in the exclusive area of San Pedro Garza Garcia, Monterrey, is a renowned Italian restaurant with over 30 years of experience. It has been honored with the Ospitalita Italiana award for three consecutive years, making it an ambassador of authentic Italian cuisine. The menu features a wide array of dishes including handmade organic pasta, flavorful salads, soups, various types of pizzas, risottos, meats and seafood.
Excellent Italian food! We ordered several different pastas and every single one was absolutely delicious. The restaurant has a nice interior and service was good. Highly recommend.
Nadia T — Google review
Well I’m not sure about any of the negative reviews because this is really great Italian food! The pizza and homemade pasta are incredible. In Italy a dish with simple ingredients made with love is the best thing you’ll find and outside of Italy this is the only place I’ve found it! Francisco is amazing and I look forward to bringing friends and family to eat here!
K C — Google review
Would not recommend this place. The service was okay, but the main waiter did not know what he was doing. The wine list was outdated and they didn’t know which wines they had or which year they were. I had to ask him about four times to check it correctly. The food was fine but nothing out of the ordinary. The artichokes were cumbersome to eat and bland. The squid was good and interesting. Both pastas were a bit dull and lacking flavor. The pizza was okay though.

I've been searching for good Italian restaurant in Monterrey for a year. This place is so amazing. Great, delicious and fresh food with authentic Italian flavors. Excellent service and ambient atmosphere. Coming from Europe where we have lot of good Italian restaurant I had high expectations on food and this place simply met all my wishes. Great place to eat!
Viliam B — Google review
One of the best restaurants I've ever been to! Our table agreed we had the best wait staff any of us had experienced in years! Excellent wine selection. Highly recommend any of the pastas finished tableside. And the truffles for dessert!

Incredible food. Authentic Italian doesn’t get bette than this in Mexico. This was our 2nd visit. 4 years ago it was amazing and after 2 trips to Italy it is still just as good.
Michael N — Google review
Excellent food and service. We began with a glass of Prosecco. It was very nice and it paired great with the salmon carpaccio with caviar. We ordered a bottle of Chianti. It was also very good, a little overpriced. For main dish my wife ordered the pasta ali oli. I got the Pedro Verde filet. It was delicious. My daughters got the lasagna, the spaghetti bolognese and the spinach raviolis (these were very tasty). I truly recommend this place fir the great food, good service and nice ambiance. A walking distance from Quinta Real Hotel and Safi Luxury Valle hotel.

The restaurant's interior decor exudes a rustic traditional local style. Guests can expect exceptional service and an array of delectable dishes that cater to both meat lovers and vegetarians alike.
One of the very best meals I have had while in Monterrey. Regional food, excellent presentation, spot-on flavors, all done with excellent service, Charming ambiance and great attention to all of the details. We had beef, lamb, pork, calabeza with arugula, melted cheese, savory rice with sweet raisins, and a few other things. Cocktails were fantastic too!
Suchil C — Google review
While staying in Monterrey for the Pal Norte music festival, my two friends and I randomly chose to eat at Vernáculo. The lamb dish I ordered was tender and tasty. One of us ordered the black pork, which we all tried and agreed it melted in our mouths. The third dish was fish, and my friend enjoyed it very much. The appetizer of tortillas was so flavorful! The waitstaff was very kind and helped us because our Spanish is not very good. We sat outside, and the atmosphere was so charming! There were outdoor air conditioners, which would be great in the heat of the day.
Lisa W — Google review
An unforgettable dining experience. The lamb was absolutely delicious — tender, flavorful, and beautifully cooked. Every dish was creative and full of soul, from the puffed tortilla with roasted onion broth to the fresh fish and the unique dessert. Amazing local wine (Bodega Los Cedros) and excellent service. A must-visit in San Miguel de Allende!

What a great find. This is a truly memorable restaurant. Quite pricey but great for date night. I would Certainly return if I am ever in Monterrey again. Every dish was beautiful in presentation and exquisite on the palate. Great service too. And I got to meet the chef!!

Michelin rated restaurant. Delicious meals and service was top notch. If you do not speak spanish review menu in english. Impressed with their service. Truly an experience. We sat right by their kitchen and got to see the chef and his staff work their magic.

Fenómemo. This place has everything to be a 5 plus star.....amazing and unique beautiful kitchen area. The staff was incredible and attentive. They have some unique mixed drinks that were tasty. The food was such an incredible experience. The flavours are so unique ... they pull from the noreste cuisine with local ingredients and then add a unique touch. We went with a small group and couldn't stop ordering. The lamb empanadas had a nice arabic touch to pay homage to some of NL heritage and good. The arroz de boda was the only time I loved arroz de boda... It was accompanied by a nice cortadillo. The rib eye we had was cooked just as should be. The handmade tortilla were so tasty and full of flavour that we couldn't help but eat them as if they were a meal on its own. The flor de palma tostado with a pepita sauce was so refreshing. The star of the show was the lamb ribs.....WOW...Full out flavour and the sauce it had was perfectly matched. This is upto date one of the best food experiences I've had , and probably the best I've had up to date in Monterrey
Gaetano M — Google review
I think it’s a unique experience, definitely some plates and drinks you won’t find in other comparable restaurants in MTY. The food is very good. The asado de boda: amazing imo. Been a couple of times and my only comment is that it can be hard to get a hold of the waiter. But besides that, try it.

Taco restaurant
Breakfast restaurant
Tacos Doña Mary La Gritona offers an authentic street taco experience with freshly made flour and corn tortillas. While it may not have the typical restaurant setup, the quality of the tacos is exceptional. Located in Monterrey, it's known for serving some of the best tacos in town. There's a seating area available across the street where you can savor these delicious street-style tacos.
An unbelievable Michelin star restaurant. Located in the heart of old town Monterrey the place is exactly what is portrayed. The tacos are just delicious and Doña Mary is just a fantastic host. There are tables to dine in just across the street.
Manuel P — Google review
Went here as I read that they received a Michelin star when I arrived thought really...They had many stews but I suggest the rajas con queso, liver and Chile relleno with the flour tortillas....salsas were excellent...Not sure how they received a Michelin star?... Dona Mary actually does the work....Good but not sure if I would make a special trip was expecting more and better hygiene....Men's bathroom.is through the kitchen and needed to be cleaned not good.
David B — Google review
Amazing street tacos. Chorizo and barbacoa were my favorite.
Pat D — Google review
Not the best tacos mañaneros... The flour tortillas are way better than the corn.
Damien G — Google review
BEST morning tacos in Monterrey. It took me a while to find a great spot and this was it. Doña Mary appears rough, but actually has a great sense of humor. Be ready to order, don't hold up the line.
Frogtrainer — Google review
The owner is very sweet and the food was good. I think it’s time they invested in their building as it’s not being kept up. And the food is served outside. Maybe this is how they want it but it seems for a place that has such high expectations they need to rise to meet them.
Nikos L — Google review
The corn and flour tacos are amazing, the flour tortillas are hand made! Very well served, there are plenty of options to put on the tacos, the asado and chicharrón were the best in my opinion you can also add shredded melted cheese to enhance the flavor even more if you like. These are great street tacos there is an indoor place to eat with about 12 tables.
Alejandro G — Google review
Good tacos of the type of street ones... not bearely the restaurant + table + waiters and soo on... this are street tacos but they are really good!!
