Sights & Landmarks
Historic Sites
Castel Sismondo is a 15th-century fortress located in piazza Malatesta, named after Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, the lord of Rimini at that time. The castle has been revitalized to become a cultural hub and hosts a semi-weekly market, exhibitions, and events.
A very small castle that you can walk in the gardens which we did. Due to our short time we haven't been in the Fellini museum, but we got to walk around it and you can walk through the main door in the garden of the castle. The castle it belonged to Malatesta family, one of the richest in Rimini. When we went we were pleased to see the fountains were on with mist spray.

Castel Sismondo is a beautiful Renaissance-era fortress located in the heart of Rimini. It was built in the 15th century by Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta, one of the most powerful lords of the region, both as a residence and a stronghold. The castle’s design reflects both military strength and artistic ambition, blending defensive features with elegant architectural details. Today, it stands as a cultural landmark, hosting exhibitions and events, while preserving the legacy of Rimini's noble past. A stunning site that’s definitely worth visiting for its history, atmosphere, and beauty.
Carlos J — Google review
Unfortunately, Castel Sismondo is closing in the noon time, I assume for siesta and I didn’t make it to see it inside. Hopefully next time. Outside is beautiful though with the water in front of it.
Maria A — Google review
I'm speechless. The castle is unique, the way they exposed Fellini's art is really amazing and worth visiting. I love art of all kinds and this place fullfield my soul.
Stela P — Google review
Nice building but the expectation of the castle , the inside was all about the filmmaker fellini. My bad. But if you like the history of film a must visit. Within the ticket there is 1 extra museum included.
Ducati D — Google review
We got there around 3pm about a hour and a half before closing, there is a Federico Fillini Museum exhibition on at the moment which is stunning, there didn't seem to be access to see any other parts of the castle and restricted to the exhibition areas inside, still worth a visit. Tickets included another venue.
Dave M — Google review
Nice but not all building for visiting. There is now museum Fellini.
Magdalena Ć — Google review
Didn’t pay to go in. This is based only on the facade and going through the castle to the other exit: superb, well maintained, buggy-friendly, it is a unique sight of Rimini. Highly recommended.

Ponte di Tiberio e di Augusto

Bridge
Ponte di Tiberio is a 2,000-year-old bridge in Rimini that stands as a remarkable relic of Roman architecture. It is located at the end of a canal running from the beach through to Parco XXV Aprile. The bridge, also known as the Bridge of Augustus, was constructed in 20 BC and remains in excellent condition. Nearby attractions include the Renaissance cathedral of Tempio Malatestiano and Borgo San Giuliano.
Old Roman Bridge still in excellent condition. Currently just for pedestrians. No entrance fee. Great views from just down either side the canal. Definitely a must see when visiting Rimini.
Paul H — Google review
A good old architecture bridge. Good for a walk. Some nice restaurants are nearby. You can see a lot of locals doing yoga in the garden nearby. At night when lights are on it looks more beautiful. Not a top place to visit but if you are Rimini then it's good for a short walking tour towards this bridge.
Ashi — Google review
This bridge was completed in 12AD, that is OLD and it's history through the ages is remarkable. It is an easy walk from downtown and worth 30 minutes to stroll across and say you walked where so much history has taken place.
Lisa W — Google review
Worth seeing when in Rimini. When walking there be sure to walk with someone as there are some homeless people sleeping under the small bridges walking distance from this Historic Bridge. They sleep close by.
Dalene B — Google review
One of the highlights of a walking tour of the Roman sights of Rimini - it is amazing to think that this bridge has stood for over 2000 years. The surroundings are well landscaped, and it is worth crossing over to see the murals in the Borgo San Giuliano.
David W — Google review
Beautiful place, worth a visit with all the surrounding streets. 🙂
Gabriel Á — Google review
Ponte di Tiberio. Gifted to Ariminum by two emperors, Augustus and Tiberius, this enduring bridge was completed around 20 CE. Its five arches of luminous Istrian stone stride across the former river Ariminus, linking the lively fishermen’s quarter of San Giuliano with Rimini’s historic heart. Nearly two thousand years on, the bridge still carries daily life across its span, glowing with elegant dignity at dusk when its reflection shimmers in the waters below.
Loo Y — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous bridge: to see it and the views from it. Also, it is accesible with a double buggy and it is pedestrian only, so it is a great spot to visit with small children. Still, watch out for the bikes.

The City Museum in Rimini is a treasure trove of historical artifacts and artworks. The museum showcases ancient surgical tools, medieval art, fashion illustrations, and more. Visitors can explore the new archaeological section featuring exceptional surgical instruments found in the House. The Art Gallery within the museum displays an array of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, tapestries, and jewelry including masterpieces from the Rimini school of the fourteenth century.
It was nice to visit the museum after the visiting the Surgeons house as we have seen the reconstruction house of the ancient site, and the original objects including the medical instruments. The museum houses a lot of mosaics, art paintings, tapestries and frescoes from early Middle Ages to 15th century. Is located in the old Jesuit monastery, and is on 4 floors. There's a lift too, on all floors. Opening times: From Tuesday to Sunday and holiday: 10.00 am - 1.00 pm and 4 pm - 7 pm Closed on working Mondays On July and August also on Wednesday and Friday evening: from 9 am to 11 pm

Fantastic museum and much larger than expected so leave yourself plenty of time. I loved how detailed the displays were and very much appreciated the English translations! The docents were very friendly and chatty- telling us about their favourite pieces.

Really worth visiting. Museum has artifacts ranging from ancient to current times. It took us three hours to see it all. Temporary exhibition was stunning too. People working there are really friendly and helpful, even if not all of them speak English. If you plan to visit, be aware of the siesta from 1 PM till 4 PM and get yourself lunch in one of nearby restaurants

The State Museum of San Marino, or Museo di Stato, can be a worthwhile visit for those interested in the history, culture, and art of San Marino. The museum provides insights into San Marino's rich heritage, covering archaeological finds, historical artifacts, and artworks that span various periods. It offers a cultural experience, showcasing the artistic and historical aspects of this small and unique republic. If you have an interest in archaeology, the museum features artifacts from prehistoric and Roman times, giving you a glimpse into the early history of the region. The ethnographic section provides a look into the daily life, traditions, and customs of the people of San Marino. If you have an interest in coins and currency, the numismatic section displays historical currencies used in San Marino.
Teodor B — Google review
Really a museum not to be missed and perfectly complements the Surgeon's House that is included in the price. For a city museum, even allowing the rich history that Rimini and so many Italian cities have, i was struck by the depth and breadth of the exhibits which are carefully and thoughtfully curated to dig into and tell the story of Rimini's history. Even being in there for nearly 2 hours we ran out of time and missed out on one level and some of the archealogy we had to do at pace. There are some truly spectacular mosaics here, its great to see the recreations of the Surgeon's house, but as a British tourist its always great to see and understand more about Italy's rich and less covered medieval history.
Nathan L — Google review
A very decent place, 4 floors of history of the area and an unbelievable archeological site. Highly recommended

Dalla Lella is a renowned historical Piadineria in Rimini, known for serving authentic Romagnola piadina. With multiple locations in Rimini and even one in New York, it's a must-visit for those craving an authentic taste of Rimini. The menu offers a wide variety of piadinas and "cassoni" with different fillings, from classic options like prosciutto, arugula, and squacquerone to more gourmet choices.
Went to grab a local flat bread and it was truly amazing. They gave me the favourite: a classic piada - prosciutto, rocket/arugula and squacquerone (similar to cream cheese). Yummy, highly recommend, made fresh to order

Jeanette C — Google review
According to Simone Ruggiati's opinion, is the best piadina in Rimini. I do not have the knowledge to vouch for that, but the piadina we tasted (classic crudo e squacquerone), was the best I ever had. Excellent ingredient, perfect piadina, nice service and no queue (weekend in early April). Whenever I'll be round and looking for a bite, I'll be back...

The Arco d'Augusto, situated at the end of Rimini's main street, is a significant historical landmark dating back to 27 BC. It was constructed in honor of Emperor Caesar Augustus and originally featured his statue atop the gateway. Despite enduring various weather conditions over time, including rain, this ancient arch has remained standing tall. With its wide opening symbolizing an era of peace following conflicts, it stands as the oldest Roman triumphal arch in northern Italy.

Murales del borgo San Giuliano

4.6
(144)
Nestled near the ancient Tiberius Bridge lies one of Rimini's most enchanting spots: Borgo San Giuliano. This historic neighborhood, once home to fishermen and artisans, is a delightful maze of narrow streets and charming squares that exude an old-world charm reminiscent of Federico Fellini’s films like "Clowns" and "Amarcord." While the area has evolved from its humble beginnings—no longer featuring crumbling walls but instead adorned with vibrant pastel colors—the essence remains intact.
Must see place in Rimini! Beautiful tiny streets that are full of colors, decorations and murals. Great place for a walk, photo session and a food and wine break in one of cute little restaurants spread around the area

Consigliatissimo per passare un po' di tempo approfondendo la storia e le tradizioni pescherecce.

I thank Ruggero, who, with sacrifice and great expertise, explained many things to us about the sea, the world of fishing, and especially the world of shells from all over the world. Here you will find an incredible variety of shells, all catalogued, and Ruggero will explain many interesting things to you. Furthermore, the cost of maintaining the artifacts is only €2 per person. The staff is extremely helpful and both the beach, sunbeds and umbrellas are kept in excellent condition, I had more to do with a tattooed boy whose name I don't remember who was always kind and available even to have a chat. There is also a beautiful children's area with outdoor games, 2 five-a-side football/tennis/beach volleyball courts and a small pitch with a basketball hoop, all free. The beach is very well maintained. We go there almost every day and we are satisfied. The boys take care from morning to evening. They clean the sunbeds in the morning, rake the sand. Every day there are animation programs for children. We are pleasantly surprised. A beautiful foam party. Do I recommend.

We booked by mail and went to pay in the morning. As we had planned for other visits, we arrived at the beach at almost 6pm and my daughter had a great swim in the sea. The beach is wonderful and very clean. The staff is very welcoming, helpful and friendly. You can feel the great atmosphere between the colleagues and that for me is very important! I recommend this beach and will certainly go back. The sunset was beautiful 😍

Nestled in the heart of Rimini, Osteria Pappa e Ciccia is a true gem that has captured my heart, prompting multiple visits within just a week. This charming eatery embraces authenticity, steering clear of touristy compromises with its exclusively Italian menu. Here, you won't find pizza or seafood; instead, the focus is on delightful homemade pasta and generous starters that are sure to satisfy your cravings.
One of the best pasta i eat in my whole life. Home made, best quality, good price. 👏👏👏

I feel we were treated unfairly as they assumed we were English. Yes, i am but i am also Italian and conversed with them the whole time in Italian. The food was superb, if i was here longer i would return if it wasnt for the owner. He came over to the party of maybe 10, and offered them Limoncello, as well as the 2 (German i think) right next to us but we got nothing. 2 drinks each, starter to share, 2 mains, 2 desserts and we dont warrant a complimentary drink? Definitely subjective to either the owner or your suspected heritage.

Bar Ristorante Salsedine is a delightful dining spot that boasts stunning views of the beach, making it an ideal location for a memorable meal. During my visits, I enjoyed a two-course dinner featuring a delicious cheese and meat platter followed by lasagna and cold fish—both dishes were expertly prepared. The food was really good and the staff was also very nice and welcoming. The restaurant is directly on the beach allowing for a great atmosphere. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up eating there multiple times and it was a good experience every time.

Lovely food and drinks, the waiters were kind and helpful. However, the atmosphere was frustrating.. Loud and obnoxious music in the background (you can hear the music loud and clear from afar). We asked the waiters to turn it down, which they did, but turned it up shortly after. We would rate it a 5 star place if it weren’t for the music, which is quite unfortunate..

A good restaurant with a nice view of the beach. We (my girlfriend and I) had a two course meal the evening we ate there. We started with some standard cheese and meat mix, which was delicous. After that my girlfriend had Lasagna and I took some cold fish (it itentionally is served cold) meal. We enjoyed both of the courses. Sadly the restaurant seems a little bit pricy which is obviously due to the nice view. However the food was good and the service nice so 4/5 it is!

An interesting place on Viserbella's culinary map. Restaurant located right in the tourist centre of the town, on the main pedestrian street. Food very good: we ate sea bass and pasta with salmon. Everything excellently seasoned and served. Very friendly service. The place is very popular - it's best to make a reservation if you are thinking of having dinner in the evening.

The service was nice and they are very kind, but food looks better than it tastes. I got mine food 10 minutes or more before my husband and I have to start eating without him or I would have cold food (I ordered pasta he ate pizza). Pizza was okay but still not great, not terible. But they have good and very cold beer! :)

This beachside restaurant offers a pleasant atmosphere, perfect for those looking to enjoy a meal with a view. However, the experience could be enhanced if the service were quicker and more attentive. The food was good, making it a decent option for beachgoers seeking quality meals. A little improvement in service could make this place outstanding.

The food is very tasty, we have been there several times and have always eaten well and the price is great. The conditions are not friendly, except for two people, the little blonde is conceited and ignorant. But for the good food it is really worth it.

Pizza was a bit burnt, but if it wasn't would be tasty, and fried seafood hmm very small portion and mostly calamari rings only two shrimps few sticks of carrot and courgette good for starter not for main dish. Pasta with clams-tasty, as well as tagliatelle.

We stumbled across Ristorante La Tavernetta sul Mare in Rimini and were so glad we did. I went for the pizza salame piccante — the base was just perfect, light yet crisp, and the salami had just the right amount of heat. I couldn’t resist adding a drizzle of chilli oil for that extra kick. The capricciosa pizza was equally impressive, with fresh, vibrant ingredients that really made each bite a pleasure. Although we didn’t order any fish this time, the seafood dishes we saw heading to other tables looked absolutely sensational. We’ll definitely be coming back — next time, the fish is top of our list.

The food was great! Great taste, reasonable price, and great portion sizes. Service was mixed; while they were helpful with recommendations and generally friendly, as well as accommodating for the fact we spoke English, the service was rather slow and we often had to wait a while to place orders. The atmosphere was certainly very hectic. But overall the experience was enjoyable as the food was great and it's right by the beach.
Sharo S — Google review
The stress! My god, the stress! It's easy to trick yourself into thinking that this is a busy and popular restaurant at summertime... The waitresses are overworked, the mistakes are constant, the food is OK when it arrives (if it arrives). But I really have no idea why it is as popular as it is given the number of better restaurants around that have a far more chilled atmosphere. If i were to offer advice, it would be: You have tried to grow beyond your means. You have too many tables for both your staff size and kitchen. We tried to eat at your place multiple times, and even though there were only two of us, our food never arrived at the same time, and often went mixing entirely. The people working there were nice, but overworked. I would like to say I will try again, but based on what I've seen I think it's possibly unlikely.
Adam J — Google review
Great food, nice portion! I know that staff might be very specific... if you come during them lunch you probably won't be serve and you have to wait about 20minutes, as they have food all together like family, so I forgive them and personally I don't care, food is the winner!
