Grayton Beach in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Grayton Beach, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Grayton Beach is a laid-back Gulf Coast town known for its sugar-white sand, emerald waters, and walkable, old-Florida feel. Adjacent Grayton Beach State Park offers protected dunes, nature trails, camping, and access to Western Lake, one of the area’s rare coastal dune lakes popular for paddling and wildlife viewing. Visitors find a mix of historic cottages, local art galleries, and casual eateries rather than high-rise development, giving the area a quieter, village-like atmosphere. It’s also conveniently located along Scenic Highway 30A, making it easy to explore other beaches and towns in South Walton.
With favorites like Fish Out of Water, Black Bear Bread Co., and AJ's Grayton Beach, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Nanbu Noodle Bar and Grace Pizza and Shakes 30A so you can get the best taste of Grayton Beach while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Grayton Beach State Park is a sprawling 2,000-acre park that offers a variety of activities such as ocean swimming, boating on the lake, hiking and biking trails, and camping. Recently named the Third Most Beautiful Beach in America by Forbes Magazine, it boasts natural beauty, clean sand, pleasant weather, and an array of wildlife. The park surrounds the neighborhood on three sides and is home to art galleries and a famous dive bar.
We had a wonderful time at Grayton Beach State Park. We were able to find a great spot on the beach and enjoy time to relax as well a wonderful time in the water. The sand is very fine and welcoming. I would highly recommend getting there mid morning to get the best parking and location on the beach. The restrooms were clean and nearby. Bring something to provide shade, as it gets hot in the direct sun. Enjoy your time in Florida on the beach.

Grayton Beach State Park is an exceptional location! It costs $5 per car for admission. However, be sure to get there early. Once the park reaches capacity, they will close the entrance for a while. We arrived mid-afternoon to take the one mile hike through the white sand dunes. It was an easy walk with amazing views. The sand can get hot though. So, be sure to have appropriate footwear. After the hike, we went to the beach for a quick swim. The water was clear, blue, and cool. We enjoyed it so much that we didn’t want to leave. We highly recommend exploring nature at this location.

Another beautiful Florida Beach State Park. Gate staff were friendly and helpful. Nice paved roads and parking lots throughout. Nice restroom facilities near the beach. Beaches were beautiful and as untouched as you can find. The sand dunes are roped off and very cool. Great place for family photos. Lots of photographers utilize this location.

Excellent state park with fantastic camping. Each site is large and has a nice large area with a picnic table and fire pit. Most sites are shaded. All sites have 30/50amp, water, and sewer. The bathrooms are nice and air conditioned and air to be well kept. The staff is extremely nice. The park is approximately 1.5-2 miles from Watercolor and Seaside. Will definitely be staying here whenever we’re lucky enough to obtain a spot. The campground is just under a mile from the beach access.

Grayton Beach State Park is an absolute gem along the Emerald Coast. Not only do you get the gorgeous sugar-white sand and emerald waters, but there’s so much more. You can have a lovely picnic, take a relaxing nature walk on the trails, and even rent a kayak or paddleboard to explore the coastal dune lake. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy a little piece of Florida’s natural beauty

This is a great State Beach. There is a Turtle Reef you can swim out to and snorkeling to see all of the marine life. There is also an RV camp ground. There is some construction taking place so when you visit, follow the ling mat and don't go on the boardwalk because it's closed off. It's laid back and most of the people are family, boomers and Gen X.

Grayton Beach State Park is truly one of Florida’s finest treasures—and we feel lucky to have it right in our backyard. As longtime locals, we’ve done it all here over the years: hiked the scenic trails, paddled across Western Lake, camped under the stars, and stayed in the cozy cabins during the 30A Songwriters Festival in January. The cabins are one of our favorite ways to enjoy the park—perfectly positioned along 30A, simple but comfortable, and a short walk to the beach. You get everything you need without the high price tag of nearby rentals, making it a fantastic and affordable way to enjoy the area. The beach itself is world-class—literally. With its powdery white sand and emerald waters, Grayton Beach has been ranked among the top beaches in the U.S. by Dr. Beach and others multiple times. It’s the kind of place that takes your breath away, whether it’s your first visit or your fiftieth. We’ve brought family from out of state here just to experience it—it’s that special. On calm days, we love to paddleboard along the shoreline, and for those into diving, the Underwater Museum of Art (UMA) just offshore adds a truly unique experience you won’t find at most state parks. Sculptures become reef habitat, and diving there combines art, conservation, and adventure all in one. Whether you’re here for recreation or relaxation, Grayton Beach State Park offers a rare mix of natural beauty, peace, and accessibility. It’s one of the most unforgettable spots on the Gulf Coast—and a place we’ll keep coming back to for years to come.

We came to Grayton Beach State Park for Beach access on this trip. It is perfect for that. We had to wait a little while for parking one of the days but were lucky to get in not long after we got there. The beaches are close to the parking area, clean, and aren't as crowded as most other public beach areas. Even though we didn't go on any trails this year, some of the trails at this park are awesome. Western Lake is beautiful. My only complaint is with the online reservation system for Florida State Parks. I purchased a day pass, but that did NOT guarantee us entry into the park (unlike with Texas State Parks.... day passes are like gold on busy or holiday weekends!). I wasted $5 buying it, thinking it was truly like a reservation.

Black Bear Bread Co. is a charming cafe located in Grayton Beach, founded by friends Dave Rauschkolb and Chef Phil McDonald. The cozy cottage exudes the pleasant aroma of freshly baked breads, pastries, and savory dishes. With a menu featuring items like Jambon de Paris and smoked salmon toast, this spot offers a variety of delicious options for breakfast and lunch.
We love coming to this amazing bakery! I’ve been all over the world and this place is one of the best ever. Their sourdough is out of this world, fresh pastries, croissants, morning buns and homemade pop tarts. The breakfast is incredible, salmon tartine and bacon egg and cheese croissant is a must try! Make a point to support this business if you are in the area!

Awesome shop, wonderful pastries. Fast, clean and friendly - Stumptown beans in use and for purchase. Love the 12oz size offered for iced drinks. I'd pick 30A coffee shop coffee over here just based on coffee flavor preference..this seemed like more of a dark roast flavor. Ordered an iced Mocha and an iced Vanilla Latte.
Natalie L — Google review
Their coffee lineup is straight fire—whatever you order, it'll hit the spot. The food? Solid, nothing revolutionary, but hey, it's got charm. Expect a queue that snakes out the door; this joint's buzz is real, and the vibe inside is pure, welcoming energy.

We drove by the Seaside location. Line out the door. Over an hour wait. We drove down 30A to the Grayton location and there was a short line PTL. Amazing bakery. Good choices. Hot breakfast options. We asked for a pump of French vanilla for our coffee. No flavor 😢. Seating available inside and out. And next door. Lots of shops in the area. Parking is limited but there is a $5 (first 4 hours) lot less than 50 yds from location. Atmosphere is nice but a little uppity. Love the glass shop 2 doors down!!!

Really great place to stop and grab coffee or meet your friends. The selection of pastries is wonderful. I had a little Ham and Cheese pastry with a small hot latte. Place is usually busy, but worth the wait. We managed to stop by on a quiet Friday morning. Totally recommend this awesome place!

Had to make 2 trips during our vacation because it was that good! Even as busy as they were, the food and coffee came out at a decent speed, and everything was hot and delicious. They had a fabulous array of pastries and food. I only wish they had sugar free syrups for coffee!

Black Bear Bread Co. in Grayton Beach is undefeated. My son refuses to order anything but the French toast, and honestly, I cannot blame him. I usually go for the turkey bacon and cheese, then balance out my masculinity with a jasmine honeysuckle tea. The coffee is perfect every time, strong and smooth with that roasted flavor that hits just right. You can smell the fresh bread when you walk in, the staff is always chill, and the food stays consistent every single visit. One of the best breakfast and lunch spots on 30A, casual, local, and never lets you down.
Andrew F — Google review
This bakery was a go-to spot for my friends and I during our trip to Seaside! Our recommendations from the menu would be the Green Goddess, Cereal Milk, Arnold Palmer, and the Lemonade. The breakfast sandwiches are very yummy but also come in really hefty portions. The only thing I would stray away from is the everything bagel - it was extremely salty :( Besides that, everything else was great!

Chanticleer Eatery is a cozy spot in Grayton Beach that offers a laid-back atmosphere and outdoor patio dining. The restaurant, now under the management of the team behind Local Catch, aims to cater to both locals and tourists. The menu features delectable burgers, steaks, chops, and fresh salads like the summer salad loaded with fruit, nuts, and feta. Diners rave about the flavorful raspberry citrus vinaigrette dressing and delicious tomato basil soup.
Excellent place. Awesome friendly service with truly great food. Side salads were hefty with perfect ingredient proportion and taste. The shrimp and grits and the jambalaya were both delish. Not over-seasoned and not under-seasoned. The chanticleer art and relaxed vibe is also plus. A thank you to Kimberly- our server.

Decent place to eat. Our waitress Kimberly was fantastic. She's great management material and was a fantastic host during our visit. Food wasn't too bad. Not the best quality for the price but still tasty. Good one time visit type of place. Make sure you have Kimberly as your server!

This is a really great spot to get something to eat. I really can't wait to come back and try some more items on the menu because what we had was amazing. The place is very easy to find and there is plenty of parking. We sat outside which was a lovely place to sit and talk. It wasn't too loud. I had the grilled cheese. My partner had the biggest Ruben sandwich that I've ever seen in my life. The sweet potato fries were very tasty and some of the best that I've had recently. The food really was very good. And the service was also very good. We'll definitely be back. Thank you

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here! This is a great little local restaurant with delicious food, charming decor, and great service. The hostess was very friendly and made us feel like we were old friends. Our server was the same, very personable and genuine. The bruschetta flatbread is delicious. The sweet potato fries are thick and tasty. Everything we ordered was great. We will definitely be back again soon.

My family and I were searching for a place to eat when we stumbled upon Chanticleer. We briefly looked at the menu online and decided to give it a try. The hostess sat us immediately and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. He informed us that the restaurant was previously a bakery and the cookies were amazing. Another waiter had informed us that the lunch menu was entirely different. He also told us that the restaurant makes all its own breads and the Reuben, in particular, was amazing. The restaurant had a bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available. The tables were decorated with hand-painted art. The walls were adorned with wonderful pictures of the local landscape. The bathrooms were very clean and they also had a family-friendly restroom. We started with a couple of appetizers: Calamari: The calamari appeared to be hand breaded and was very tender. The aioli dipping sauce was tasty and bright. I wish the portion was a tad larger given the price. Lobster Bisque: The portion was generous and the soup had a very good flavor. It was silky and rich. I felt it could have used a few large chunks of lobster meat. For our dinners, we ordered the following: Catch with Shrimp: The fish of the day was grouper. It came in a garlic butter sauce. The sauce was divine. The two does we chose were creamed spinach and cheese grits. The creamed spinach was our favorite. It was rich and flavorful. The cheese grits could have used a tad bit of cream or something to loosen them. By the time they arrived at our table, they had seized up a bit. They were very cheesy and tasty. Caprese Salad: This dish was very good. The nut less pesto and balsamic reduction were very tasty. The only issues I had with the dish were as follows: The tomato slices needed to be about half as thick and needed salt and pepper. Also, ditch the lettuce. I found myself rummaging through the lettuce to get more of those wonderful sauces. Side of Collard Greens: The greens were very tender and well-seasoned. Krioyo Pasta: The pasta, shrimp, and sausage were cooked perfectly. The pasta wasn't over-sauced. The flavor of the rich and creamy sauce was amazing. Tomato Basil Soup: The soup was a generous portion and very tasty, but I'm not sure it was worth the price. Admittedly, I'm not a fan of tomato Basil soups. For dessert, we decided to try both varieties of cookies available. The first was a chocolate chip cookie. It was a chewy and delicious melty goodness. The second was a white chocolate and coconut cookie. Man, this was easily my favorite. The coconut flavor was strong and the cookie was chewy and moist on the inside. It was absolutely delicious! The one thing that really disappointed me was seeing the almost $8 credit card fee. We come to visit this area once a year and this restaurant is definitely on our list to revisit. I'm still trying to twist my wife's arm into allowing us to come for lunch before we depart!

We absolutely love Chanticleer. We go atleast once, if not twice during our stay every year. Our favorite dishes are the crab cakes and the shrimp & grits. I would definitely recommend!

Great food, my dad said the reuben was the best he's ever had. The tuna was fresh and the bread sides were really good too. The inside atmosphere is nothing special but the patio is really cute.

We hosted my daughter’s bridesmaid’s luncheon at Chanticleer this past weekend. Meg and her staff did an amazing job. She set up a mimosa station and we were able to use the back room for the bridesmaids. We were able to decorate and make it really cute. We ordered off the lunch menu and everything we ordered was phenomenal. It was a great spot to host a luncheon! Highly, highly recommend.

Chiringo is a vibrant and laid-back restaurant located in Grayton Beach, offering a taste of Spanish-inspired dishes in a colorful setting with outdoor seating and water views. The name "Chiringo" was inspired by the partners' visit to special places along the Spanish coast, where they experienced casual beachside settings serving bar drinks and tasty tapas.
What a great place to stop for lunch on a bike ride! We had an ahi tuna & avocado appetizer, followed by tacos (shrimp, pork, and red snapper). Everything was nicely presented and delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. it can be tricky to find reasonably priced restaurants in this area with such great food and service! We will be back.

We stumbled upon Chiringo randomly while driving around on vacation, and it was the best find! The drinks were beach perfection, the food was delicious and the service top notch. Relaxing vibes- we found a treasure!

Had a fly in the first drink that was made, the bar staff fixed quickly. We were hoping the DJ that setup outside was for the rest of us, but for a private party and we walked over to the Red Bar for dinner. They really need a better solution for flies, they are very thick at the this restaurant and seem to get into everything.
Jack — Google review
Great experience eating dinner at this restaurant! We ordered 2 kids meals, a blackened mahi sandwich and a lobster roll. The lobster roll was delicious with good portion of lobster and fair price! Highly recommend the good crispy fries as a side. Quick service too for a beach casual restaurant. Good area for kids to play and roam and explore safely away from our outdoor table. Construction nearby so you can’t see the beach from the bottom level of the restaurant so beach-front but only with a view of the oven from the second level of the restaurant.
Flynn P — Google review
The food and drinks are good! The service is good, but don’t expect it to be a quicker meal. I was by myself and it wasn’t busy…and it still took 45 minutes to get my food after ordering. But it was delicious and I wasn’t in a hurry, so no complaints here. I had the ahi tuna bowl and mojito.

Park at the Grayton Beach central lot and ride free quick shuttle. Or drop off and ride shuttle recommend, very little if any parking. Lots of choices, fish tacos and shrimp were excellent. Highly recommend.

Always great food & drinks here. Outside seating and close to the beach. This is a Grayton staple for my wife and I every time we visit Grayton. Recommend the Billy Ocean!!!

What a hidden gem 💎 located at Grayton Beach. Found this place looking for a band (12Eleven) I liked and wanted to see again. It was a bit of a drive from Destin. We'll worth it. Be aware of the lack of parking on-site. But no worries, they have an awesome shuttle service. You park at a lot up the road, and the shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the front of the Bar. This place was such an awesome experience. The staff was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and tasty. We got out food in a timely manner. The beer was cold and the drinks were delicious. Definitely coming back when I am back in town. Just a great place to hang out and party.

Nestled in Grayton Beach, The Red Bar is a laid-back hangout housed in an old general store. It's renowned for its Southern-inspired dishes and live music, making it a must-visit spot for both locals and tourists. The area exudes a relaxed beach lifestyle with traditions like to-go-cup wine sunsets and treating tourists like family. The restaurant's simple yet perfect taste and unique style have made it iconic, even earning a place on famous Red Bar t-shirts.
This place was absolutely hopping, and the wait times are long, but it's worth the wait. I had the manicotti, which was delicious. Another person at my table got the grouper, which was also fabulous. The live music was nice too. We took the free shuttle, since parking would be pretty impossible. They do have a nice outdoor patio with plenty of chairs for people who are waiting on a table. My only wish is that they fully covered it. The umbrellas are hit or miss, and many folks were sitting in the sun, in July.

The RedBar is legendary in the gulf. They have handled parking limitations with a free shuttle and long waits with a nice seating area outdoors. The wait is pretty long but it’s a great spot for live music and a good food. The menu is limited though they do everything extremely well. Lots of stories about this place.. for one, Sheryl Crow once popped in for an impromptu set.

Awesome place, if it were not for our friend, we wouldn't have found this gem. We stopped here for lunch, the menu is small and simple but what we had was great. I had the fish & chips, this day it was grouper, I'm not sure if it changes depending on what's freshly available. It was one of the best fish & chips I've had, the fish had a very light crisp coating, maybe like a simple egg wash, not the typical heavy bread batter. Whatever they did was excellent. My wife had the fried fish sandwich, with mahimahi, wow that looked great and she enjoyed it. I definitely recommend both the fish & chips and fried fish sandwich. We also had our first taste of keylime pie, wow, I had no idea how good that was. I've always heard the Florida had great keylime pie, and now I believe it. I heard this place burned down a few years ago and was rebuilt like the Original. It's also near the beach, so we had a great walk down to the beach to enjoy the view and fresh air. I do recommend you make the trip out to Grayton Beach to try this gem. Also recommend using the free shuttle service to get down to the beach as there are only a few spots to park.

I have always loved the red bar. It burned down and they built it back just the same. We had 2 lunches there and bloody Mary's in the bar. Some of the same great people are keeping things going down there! Don't miss out on the shrimp and grits!!

We've been enjoying REDBAR on Greyton Beach for 30 years! It's a wonderful experience, fun and beachy casual! The decor is early bordello and unique in every way. Fabulous food! Hard working waitstaff. Music most evenings is fun, but means the line will be long so outdoor waiting is colorful, and hopefully you beat the rush if you need a large table. Can't resist coming back. Today is our first lunch and voila! NO WAIT! Can I get a hallelujah???? This is where you bring first timers to 30A....... it's exactly why we love REDNECK RIVIERA!!!!

The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff make for an enjoyable dining experience. Wayne(host/waiter) was our guy on this food adventure. 5 ⭐ for him on this visit . My 16 year old son discovered this place while on vacation and had to take us there. Needless to say, it was a HIT! This is a cozy place with a great atmosphere. The menu has too many great things to choose from for one trip. We feel good about our selections. The 🍶 sake flight was wonderful...I really enjoyed the chance to try the different flavor profiles in one sitting. Oh, the food was delicious and shared by all. We loved this place!!

Man I don't know what happened. Been coming here since 2020 and the last 3 times I've went were just plain weird. This is my tuna roll that they rolled for me. $17. Also why are they so big now? Used to be my favorite "cheap" place to eat on 30A after working all day. Wayne if you're reading this, you're great. This is nothing against you our family has loved the staff but I'm just sick of the inconsistency. From undercooked pork dumplings to poorly made sushi rolls.

Quaint shopping center and eatery. Service was wonderful and attentive. We enjoyed the appetizers very much. My favorite appetizer was the pork belly buns, they come in two per plate. I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl. It was a bit dry. My husband ordered the beef bento and thought it was ok too, not something he would order again.

Good Food and Amazing service. We brought our 5yo and baby with plenty of options for kids to eat. Parking can be tight depending on the time and day. The portions are larger than expected. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys Asian cuisine. We ordered from lunch menu, sushi isn't served till dinner.

My review got removed accidentally 😢 I really enjoyed my meal at Nanbu Noodle Bar. The food was great, highly recommend the Ramen. My only comment is the broth was a little sweet for my taste, I tend to prefer a more traditional salty broth. The décor was fun and well done. Even when busy there was plenty of places to sit and get a bite to eat. They served a nice variety of Sake and Japanese drinks. For those who prefer there was also high quality bottled sodas. I loved this place and would happily go back if I am in the area again.

Nanbu's location along 30A near Grayton Beach was a welcome sight for us after having American-style food for a couple of days. The change to Asian-style meals and seafood was both refreshing and comforting. I thoroughly enjoyed the ramen dish with its various options, authentic and savory broth, hearty noodles, tasty veggies, and fresh herb garnish. The poke bowl was equally impressive with its presentation, delicious flavors, and high-quality tuna/salmon. The highlight of our visit, however, was the exceptional service from the staff, who greeted everyone with big smiles and made our experience even more enjoyable. I also appreciated the Caribbean twist in the upbeat music playing during our visit. Overall, I would definitely recommend Nanbu for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience.

Restaurant
Grace Pizza & Shakes 30A is a restaurant that was established by Adrian Hembree and Vincent VJ Nandlal after their long-standing passion for pizza and the essential ingredient of grace. Hembree, an accomplished restaurateur with previous ventures, finally fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a pizzeria. Nandlal, on the other hand, saw this as an opportunity to enter the restaurant industry for the first time.
Hands down the best pizza I’ve had on 30A. The crust was perfection, the toppings were super fresh, and don’t even get me started on those over-the-top shakes… absolutely unreal. If you’re anywhere near Grayton Beach – this place is a MUST. Can’t wait to come back!

Absolutely Disappointed — False Advertising and Flavor Failures We spent $94 at Grace Pizza tonight expecting something special—three pizzas, a salad, and garlic knots. After reviewing several local spots, we chose Grace based on the mouthwatering photos on their website. Big mistake. What we received looked nothing like what’s advertised. It felt like we were duped. The Yardbird Pizza was a complete disaster—smothered (top and bottom) in an overpowering, tangy barbecue sauce that drowned out every other ingredient. Key toppings were missing, and there was zero cilantro, despite it being listed. The gluten-free pizza was laughably bad—look at the photos attached 😂. As for the garlic knots? No garlic. Not even a whisper of it none, Nada, zilch. Dry, bland, and uninspired. We’re not picky eaters—Grace Pizza, if you’re going to charge premium prices, please deliver what you promise. This was not just disappointing—it was infuriating.

The finished product and their ability to execute large orders was poor. We ordered 12 pizzas and agreed to a pickup time, giving Grace at least a half a day to get ready. When we showed up they told us they forgot the order, but that it would only take 25 minutes. That was not the case and the pizzas were, of course, rushed. We had guests leave our tailgate party hungry, as Grace failed in the timely delivery of our food. they also offered us nothing for our inconvenience.

My wife and I stopped in as we were passing through Grayton Beach. This place is a gem. It's small but accommodating. Each table is already set with real silverware and the decor is casual but classy and fun. They have a small bar serving limited beer and wine but great for a quick stop in. Now for the food, I would have ordered many things on the menu but ended up with Adrian's Art hot sandwich. Literally one of the best things I've eaten. My wife got a cheese pizza she says was really good and looked great. The staff were also super friendly and accommodating. We will definitely come back here when we are in the area.

For starters, we’re regulars here and local. We love the pizza. However, this is the third recent visit today that the soda machine was broken (over 2 weeks). The a/c was still out, and there was no running water (and the bathroom was closed). How does a restaurant operate like this? I was afraid to ask how they cleaned cooking and serving items or what the health department is thinking. As much as we love the place, we won’t be back until everything is repaired. It should be noted that the staff was fantastic in dealing with adversity. 8/8/25 update: We called first and everything that was previously out of commission is again working. Really enjoyed Grace’s this evening!

This has got to be one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! We got the sweet perfection pizza (mozzarella, ricotta, meatballs, hot honey, roasted garlic) and it was absolutely perfection, true to its name. The crust is the best I’ve ever tasted and had the perfect texture. Staff is super friendly! I would highly recommend :)

Seafood restaurant
AJ's Grayton Beach is a lively American seafood spot with a vibrant atmosphere and a full bar. The restaurant has recently reopened to continue its legacy that began in 1984 as AJ's Seafood and Oyster House. Known for fresh oysters, Gulf seafood, tasty drinks, live music, and dancing every day of the year, it offers an unforgettable experience. With its waterfront deck topped by a large Tiki Hut, the restaurant provides great outdoor seating and excellent service.
Such a neat experience! Very quiet and felt very rustic. The bartender was very pleasant and the food was great. The other patrons were kinds and seems to be having a nice time. We will definitely go back.

We went in knowing there were some bad reviews, but decided to give it a try anyway. The free shots given to us when we walked in should have been a red flag! We came in, group of 8, no wait for bigger table. Got drink service right away! However, our bucket of beer had three cans that were literally WATER! We witnessed a Reverse Jesus moment 😂 And one of the replacement cans came with a splinter that hurt my friends lip! The environment was soooo loud. Two groups came in next to us and left without getting served. We couldn’t split the bill more than three ways. My Wagyu smash sliders were not smash burgers. Very thick and I could only get one down. My friend couldn’t wat more than one bite of her grouper sandwich, it was drenched in oil. Another sandwich was served cold. The scallops were dime sized. One beer was served in a cup that was lopsided and I’m shocked it didn’t spill over when served. Won’t recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Hostest is keeping this place afloat! He was so fun and whimsical! Outlr waiter just wanted us to rush through the meal. We had just gotten our food and he wanted to give us the check... idk food was fine.

Fried shrimp was good. The lobster rolls were coated with cayenne pepper so too spicy for me and did not like and french fries were with it instead of potato salad. Service started at good then waitress busy with too large a party so didn’t see her for quite a while. Outside good seating with dog.

Go for the atmosphere and not the food. Great staff. Cute, fun pirate theme which was perfect for a beach vibe. Awful food. Oyster sandwich was actually terrible. The oysters were so overcooked they were more like jerky. The pork Benedict was awful. The shredded pork tasted old and the hollandaise sauce was more like a southwestern mayo aioli. The biscuit was dry. The fries were good and the child liked her fried shrimp meal. Sadly, we did not like the alcoholic drinks either. The mimosa wasn’t even cold. But outside was a cute little area and a fun vibe with the band. So maybe if you drink enough, you wouldn’t notice the food. Or maybe they are better with regular bar food like a hamburger. The atmosphere was cute enough that I might try again with much simpler food choices. However, some members of my family said it isn’t worth it and they wouldn’t go back

AJ’s rulz!! Great live music and food. Fun atmosphere and great bartenders. Red fish was delicious.

The service was good except she came over way too much. My bushwacker was awful it was watered down like it sat out too long like a coke drink. It was very weak. It tasted like water. They used to be very good here. It's not my first time coming here. Two years ago it was awesome. I couldn't read my menu becsuse it was too dark. No lighting to see the menu I had to use my phone flashlight. The food was good. The music too loud I guess because I'm older now but the band sucked to me. A female singing all men songs. Nope not good. I gave it a four due to lighting and bushwacker. They need a new bartender. That was a wasted 14 dollars. I don't drink either but once a year on this trip to Florida we take yearly too. I can get a bushwacker in Kenwood, Louisiana better than this for 6 bucks. That was wasted money. Even my husband said it wasn't worth it and watered down. He's the one who got me into liking bushwackers bc I don't like alcohol beverages besides a few. The tables are sticky bc of the humidity and women with long hair like mine should wear it up here bc your right on the water and very windy and you don't want your hair in your food. I would go back but it'll be next year. Maybe they'll have a new bartender then. If you like live bands they have one that actually don't sing," Sweet Caroline," daily. Try it out for yourself. It could be their so busy that the service on drinks weren't great due to fast pace environment

We had an amazing experience! There was no weight when we arrived, although I would highly recommend you calling ahead. The restaurant sits right on the water and has beautiful views of the Gulf. I am gluten free and I love that they had a gluten-free option for me. Our server, Jennifer, was awesome. The atmosphere was peaceful. The food was delicious. Highly recommend!

David was a phenomenal waiter. Very kind, quick, and knowledgeable! Food was really good and the view was gorgeous! Our party of 7 was seated outside immediately. Love that they had a little kid area if you were to have to wait.

Dinner was delicious! I had the coconut crusted halabet and my husband had the herb crusted chicken. Both were absolutely delicious! Our families had the red snapper, the shrimp and crab cake plate and the Mediterranean salad. They all raved about the dishes! Key lime pie was amazing! Try with a sweet vanilla wafer crust and vanilla bean whipped cream - delicious!

Fish Out of Water is one of the best spots on 30A for an upscale yet relaxed meal. The views of the Gulf are incredible and the atmosphere feels both refined and welcoming. The staff is attentive and professional and the service matches the quality of the food. Post church Sunday brunch here is the best with fresh dishes beautifully prepared and served with genuine hospitality. It draws a high clientele that appreciates great food great views and an easy coastal vibe that never feels pretentious.

My husband and I stayed at the Watercolor Inn resort. It was absolutely amazing. My husband and I celebrated are honeymoon here. And I'm thankful. My husband is going through what no one should have to go through. He was in the Navy for 5 years and obtained a brain tumor. And we're fighting right now. If you're reading this and you pray please pray for the Warren's in Jesus name 🙏

Our server Galina was fantastic! She helped me choose gf/df foods and they were all mouth-watering delicious. We even ordered some food to go! I would reorder all of the foods I ate and then some.

This place is beautiful and the view itself is worth some of the food not being that good. I had the shrimp and grits and it was very weird. It wasn’t bad, but also wasn’t amazing - S&G have to be amazing. It was tomatoy and had some pieces of meat, not what I’m used to, specially compared to what you get in NOLA. Our waiter was a little bad too. She would disappear at times and we had to wait a looong time to ask for something. The bartender was great. The rest of the food my group ordered was very good-hush puppies were super tasty. I recommend this place. The service and the food not being what I expected I think is a minor thing that just needs some adjustments. Thank you for your attention to this matter TFP
