Utorda in 1 day

If you only have 1 day to spend in Utorda, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Utorda is known for its wide, relatively quiet stretch of golden sand, shallow waters, and palm-fringed dunes along the Arabian Sea, offering a more relaxed alternative to Goa’s busier beaches. It’s a good base for low-key swimming, sunbathing, and long walks, with simple beach shacks serving Goan seafood alongside a few mid- to high-end resorts. The village setting and nearby churches give a glimpse of Goa’s Indo-Portuguese heritage, while Margao and other South Goa beaches are an easy drive away for additional dining and sightseeing options.
With favorites like Poseidon's Cove Beach Grill - Planet Hollywood Goa, Balton's The Reggae Shack, and Martin's Corner, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Balton's The Reggae Shack and Poseidon's Cove Beach Grill - Planet Hollywood Goa so you can get the best taste of Utorda while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Majorda Beach, located in South Goa, is renowned for its crystal clear turquoise water, soft sand, and lush green surroundings. It's a popular destination for water sports and relaxation with rentable loungers and food shacks selling Goan fare. The beach is known for its tranquil environment, beachside shops, restaurants, and water sports activities.
Majorda Beach is one of the most famous beaches in South Goa. Lovely beach shacks. White sands. Pristine waters. Less crowd. Wonderful sunset views. What more can one ask for. Water activities are plenty. Quite reasonable as well. Great crowd and wonderful service. Ample parking space. Lifeguards at the beach. Great place for a family outing.

Beautiful and relaxing place! The beach was clean, peaceful, and perfect for spending time with friends or family. Great atmosphere and amazing view. Truly a refreshing experience — highly recommended to visit.
Vihar G — Google review
If you're chasing the perfect Goan sunset on a genuinely clean beach, Majorda is the answer. This crescent-shaped bay is simply stunning. The sand is golden, the water is calm, and the local vendors and shacks respect the environment, keeping the area pristine. The evening view as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in vibrant orange and purple hues, is nothing short of magical. It's less crowded than North Goa, making the experience tranquil and memorable. Highly recommended for couples and families looking for the best that Goa has to offer!
Akshay B — Google review
Peaceful and less crowded than other beaches. Perfect for sunset view. There are 2-3 cafés too that offers good food with shacks.
Saumya V — Google review
Nice beach of the Goa near to madgao, clean and usually less crowded, so you can enjoy your trip. To reach there you can hire a scooter and go through the road parallel to sea. You can go any time of the day between October to February month, but evening is specially butiful.
Nagesh S — Google review
Beautiful sunset. Clean beach. A couple of shacks with mostly foreign tourists.
Mayank A — Google review
Went there on an evening. It's very relaxing beach. But the thing is if u want to go to the beach you have a cross a very minute stream of water. The sand is usually soft. Since it was monsoon it was okay-ish. The water is clear. Dosen't have the fishy odour. The fun fact is there are people who braid your hair on a charge of 100₹ it's quite expensive. First they say it's 150₹ but I would suggest to bargain a bit. Not much of parking available.

Utorda Beach is a picturesque stretch of white sand and clear blue waters, offering a serene environment for visitors. The beach is dotted with charming shacks selling delicious food, making it an ideal spot to relax and enjoy the coastal atmosphere. Additionally, the area boasts various North Indian restaurants in its vicinity. For families traveling with young children, a visit to the nearby Water World: Froggyland, Goa's largest water park, is highly recommended.
Beautiful calm beach with less people. Clean shallow water. First time I'm seeing so many star fishes in my life. So was a memorable experience.

I live here so I obviously love this place but this is what it looks like during the early monsoons. This is how much the local municipality cares about the beaches it earns from throughout the year This is what tourists and the locals do. This is the result of disposing of trash improperly.
Vibhooti T — Google review
One of my favorite beaches in Goa! It's so relaxing and peaceful. Catch the sunset, go for a walk, or just hang out with friends and family.
Sagarika B — Google review
Clean, Calm and peaceful. Go for sunrise and sunset walk. Lots of crabs, Jelly fish(dead) and sea-star can be seen at beach. There are 2-3 beach shacks with plenty of options in their menu.

Balton's The Reggae Shack is a seasonal beach shack located near Planet Hollywood Beach Resort at Utorda beach. The menu offers reasonably priced and delicious food, including a special seafood selection. In addition to serving hard liquor and delightful cocktails, the shack provides beach recliners under thatched umbrellas for relaxation and tanning. The flat, clean beach with nearby water sports activities attracts a sizable tourist crowd during the day, while evenings offer a pleasant and romantic atmosphere.
We stumbled upon Balton’s Beach Shack while exploring Utorda Beach and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip. The staff was super friendly, cocktails were refreshing, and the music gave us real Goan vibes. Perfect spot for couples and friends – way better than the crowded places in North Goa.

We spent our whole day at the cabana, the food, vibe, beach, watching the tides and sunset everything was just perfect! We liked it so much that we cancelled our other plans and went there the next day too ❤️
Rujuta S — Google review
The place is at Utorda beach. Since it's the first shack on the beach it's quite crowded in the evening. Food is good but not so exceptional. Servers are quite friendly and polite. Order was taken very promptly and delivered soon. It has a swing and sofa facing beach which is quite interesting and unique. Its near to Planet Hollywood resort and so the prices are little on the higher side.

We had pork ribs that we're very tough to eat taste was okay. The Vegetables along with it we're done well. The Tandoori was nice could have been improved it's taste by adding a little butter to it. Over all services was good. To place is to Bright and loosing it's touch of being cozy by the beach. Also must be aware they charge you extra if you use your Card.

The fell in love with this place, it was bright and glittery with all the LEDs and in house live singers were excellent. They just make your mood. Go for the ambience and good alchohol. Food was good not great. The service was nice just as required.

"Absolutely loved this place! The seafood platter was out of this world – fresh prawns, grilled fish, and crab curry that tasted truly Goan. The shack is right on Utorda Beach, so we enjoyed our dinner while watching one of the best sunsets in Goa. A must-visit if you’re looking for happening beach shacks in South Goa!"

The food is amazing at this place. Reasonably priced for a shack by the beach. We ordered the Goan Fish curry rice and Fillet Mignon. Since it's in South Goa, it's very calm and not crowded. Great place to have a candle lit dinner by the beach with just the ocean around you.

Nestled along the pristine shores of South Goa, Poseidon's Cove Beach Grill at Planet Hollywood is a delightful culinary gem that perfectly marries relaxation with exquisite dining. This chic beachside eatery offers stunning ocean views and a laid-back atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind while savoring delicious dishes like sushi, grilled seafood, and gourmet burgers. The menu features standout items such as the unique Poseidon Plank and Prawn Shumai, all crafted from the freshest seasonal ingredients.
During my stay at Planet Hollywood Resort, I visited Poseidon's Cove Beach Grill three times over four days. The location, overlooking the beach, was fantastic, providing a perfect ambiance for a relaxing meal. The food and service were consistently excellent, meeting the high standards expected of a 5-star establishment. We celebrated our kids birthday there and they made all efforts to give us a great experience. However, I was disappointed with the very limited menu choices. While everything we tried was delicious, the lack of variety was noticeable, especially after multiple visits. Additionally, the prices were quite high, even considering the 5-star setting. Overall, Poseidon's Cove Beach Grill offers a great dining experience in terms of location, food, and service, but it would benefit from a more extensive menu, cleaner toilet and slightly more reasonable pricing.

Small restaurant and right next to a huge and clean beach. Food is really good and prepared fresh in front of you. Service is top notch and they don't hesitate to shower you with extra's. We tasted some unique breads and the taste was fresh and good. The place has some unique food options but the price may seem a little bit on the premium side however definitely worth it. Please try their various drink options they are good too. The restaurant is attached to a resort and we visited the restaurant only. Easy access to the beach, shower place with towel and clean toilet is a plus. If you like quiet and premium places, please do visit this restaurant Zomato has dine in discounts Parking is in an open space and the road up to the restaurant can be slightly confusing however once you reach the beach you can clearly see the restaurant.

We had a good time on weekday. This is part of the beach facing shack of a five star hotel Planet Hollywood, so it’s going to be expensive. It’s a non AC restaurant with few tables indoor and few on the beach, wet due to monsoon. To reach the restaurant, we had to walk across the Resort, so our car was valet parked. However, they also have a direct walking beach access. They are also Pet Friendly. The Menu has a bunch of starters, a few Goan dishes, Punjabi grills and tandoor, Sizzlers, wraps, rices items, etc. No Chinese. Our servers Jordan & Senti were amazing and helped us pick a fantastic order. We had a couple of drinks and light dinner. We ordered locals favourite Goan boiled rice, Veg Xacuti as well as a Chicken Sizzler, fries and a Chicken wrap along with Jim Beams and fresh ginger ale. It was quiet filing for a table of five. They even give complimentary papads and breads as sides. They have an open air kitchen and you can make out it’s a clean affair. Good job done, Shawn, Kaushal, Subho and Rohit. They even helped out with an online food discount scheme. It was a very memorable monsoon evening.

A very beautiful restaurant, had a beautiful view of beach. It’s best to enjoy sunsets there. Food was amazing , mocktails are highly recommended, starters were amazing. Parking space is huge, staff were great, we had quick service. Overall taste, and ambience were too good. A must visit for a Goa trip.

The food was too good and the ambiance at the beach is wow! The server Darius was very courteous. Elroy the sushi chef gets a 5 star for making amazing sushi/sashimi. My kids wiped out the plates in no time. The squid was fresh and huge and the masala was done just right. The prawn curry and rice was also to die for. Will surely recommend this place to anyone who loves sushi and Goan food. The charges are a bit high but it is located in a good resort with an splendid view!

A spectacular view with some amazing food is all we are craving today!! Poseidon's cove was such an awesome place to spend time at, we went there all 3 days during our stay at Planet Hollywood! The restaurant is a part of the resort and they allow walk in guests as well! The view is definitely something to look forward to! We tried their Cottage Cheese & Green Pea Burger served with a portion of fries and the Hot Chocolate fudge cake!! Due to ongoing pandemic they were serving a limited menu and vegetarian options were very less!! This is definitely a must visit place during your next Goa adventure!! . . North Indian restaurant
Martin's Corner is a renowned Goan restaurant that offers a mix of Indian and Chinese cuisine, with a focus on seafood. The vibrant open-air pavilion creates an inviting atmosphere for diners to enjoy their meals. Known for its fresh catches prepared in local flavors, this restaurant also features live music and a wide selection of spirits. The establishment has been popular among both locals and tourists for decades, offering an authentic Goan dining experience amidst interiors adorned with Mario Miranda's artwork.
A Must-Visit Culinary Gem in South Goa – Martin’s Corner During our recent stay at Club Mahindra Varca Beach Resort, one name kept coming up in every recommendation — Martin’s Corner. Though this wasn’t my first visit, the experience once again lived up to its stellar reputation. Martin’s Corner is undoubtedly one of the most iconic and beloved seafood restaurants in South Goa. Despite its popularity and high standards, the pricing is surprisingly competitive — often matching, if not beating, smaller local eateries in both cost and quality. What truly sets Martin’s apart is its consistent excellence: from the freshest seafood to the warmth in service and the unmistakable Goan charm in the air. We indulged in a delightful spread — Lobsters, Red Snapper, Squid, Prawns, and a variety of snacks that paired beautifully with our drinks. The seafood was cooked to perfection, each dish bursting with flavour and freshness. Their bar menu is extensive, and even the drinks are reasonably priced, making it an ideal place for a leisurely evening. What adds to the magic is the live music that fills the air as the sun sets, creating an atmosphere that’s both vibrant and relaxing. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of a Bollywood celebrity or television star, as Martin’s Corner is a popular haunt for visiting actors and artists. In short, if you’re in South Goa and skip Martin’s Corner, you’re truly missing out on an essential part of the Goan experience. Whether it’s your first time or a repeat visit, this place never disappoints.

This place had been on my bucket list ever since I read about it in the book ‘Secret Sauce’ which covers iconic restaurants from across India. So now when we were in Goa, I didn’t want to miss it. We visited the place around lunch time and went in a bit early to avoid the rush. We got a nice table in the middle of the restaurant and the staff were very friendly and helpful in helping us place the right order. We ordered the Goan Sausage Chilli Fry, Chonok Masala Rava Fry, Tandoori Prawns and Surmai Masala Fry. The Sausage Chilli Fry was quite nice with its inherent Smokey flavour going well with the chilli and onions. The Masala Rava Fry and Masala Fry preparations were a bit on the sweeter side owing to the use of Recheado masala. The taste was even more stronger in the Surmai Masala Fry whereas in the Rava Fry it was toned down a bit. This turned out to be a little disappointing. What stood out was the Tandoori Kong Prawns, well cooked and spicy!! A good recommendation from our server. All of this paired well with some Beer and we ended our meal with a Bebinca with Ice Cream. A good way to wrap it all up! Overall, it was a nice dining experience and it’s a place to visit at least once when you’re in Goa.
Nikhil K — Google review
Bit costly, but as my host sponsored it no issue in that. Exotic food, seradura is best in goa, my host told and is correct. Starters are fantastic and sunfish curry-rice is real tasty. Dinner becore and vibe was too good. But the luch also could me equally great with Goan landscape and fish-lunch.

Martins Corner Review: A Goan Culinary Masterpiece (5/5 Stars!) This place is pure magic! Martins Corner is an absolute, non-negotiable must-visit for anyone looking for the authentic heart and soul of Goan cuisine. Giving them 5/5 stars across the board feels right—they truly excel in every single area. Food (5/5): The food here is simply wonderful. Every dish we tried was bursting with classic Goan flavors, cooked to absolute perfection. This isn't just a meal; it's a culinary experience that showcases why Goan food is so revered. It’s an essential part of the Goa experience. Atmosphere (5/5): The vibe is fantastic—lively, welcoming, and perfectly balances a friendly local feel with a top-tier dining experience. It feels like a celebration every time you walk in. Service (5/5): The service was flawless. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely warm, the staff makes you feel valued from the moment you arrive until you leave. Martins Corner is a true classic of Goa, delivering excellence in every aspect. If you want the best Goan food, fantastic service, and a memorable atmosphere, this is the place. Highly, highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience at Martin’s Corner! The food was absolutely delicious — we tried the batter-fried calamari, beef chili fry, tongue roast, Goan pork sausage chili fry, chicken stroganoff, chicken cafreal, and chicken xacuti with Goan pao — every dish was full of authentic Goan flavor and perfectly cooked. The vibe was lively and relaxed, made even better with great live music that perfectly matched the Goan spirit. The staff was warm and attentive, and the overall ambiance made for a memorable dining experience. Definitely a must-visit in South Goa for anyone who loves good food, good music, and a true Goan vibe! 🌴🎶

Had an amazing experience here. There is a lot of waiting at the restaurant but service is pretty fast and you are well attended. Coming to the food, its just amazing. i tried mutton xacuti, prawn balchao( prawn was overcooked but gravy made for it) , poe breads, naan, butter garlic naan, king fish masala fry( too spicy but very tasty) and tender coconut soufflé which tasted light with tender coconut chunks in it. The live music band was good and engaged well with old and new Bollywood hits. Its a family place for good music and good food. Its just that its noisy coz of the rush in there. Ample of parking space available.
Sweta S — Google review
This place is always buzzing always crowded with tourists, food is good, ambiance is very minimalistic and have a good goan vibe. That I found disappointing is there was no Goan waiters like they used to have before, being a local I felt like a tourist myself trying to ask for what's fresh and what's not( the staff is all out of state) the comfort level or home feel sitting at this place doesn't exist any more. All their dishes were scrumptious and full of flavours. Lobster thermidor is must try Prawns stuff papad was crumb fried ( not how the authentic one is supposed to be) more like spring rolls. Their chill garlic naan is a must try. Note to the owner : This place is not air-conditioned so they should revise their food pricing or invest in coolers or mist fans to make the ambient/indoor temperature lesser by atleast 5 degrees. Ordering a lobster will eat 50 percent of your bill. ( 4500 rs per kg) They levy additional staff welfare charges which is 5 percent. So you don't need to tip seperately or can ask them to take it off the bill. Overall good experience

Goan restaurant
Ritz Classic Margao is a culinary gem that truly embodies the spirit of Goan cuisine. Nestled in a bustling area, this restaurant may not boast extravagant decor, but it more than makes up for it with its vibrant atmosphere and delectable offerings. Renowned for its fish thali, which features an array of flavorful fish curries, crispy fried fish, and traditional accompaniments like sol kadhi and rice, Ritz Classic captures the essence of coastal dining.
Ritz Classic offers a wonderful dining experience with its spacious and warm ambiance. The restaurant has plenty of seating, but it fills up quickly, which speaks volumes about its popularity. The decor is elegant, and the atmosphere is peaceful yet lively, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. We started with the Sweet Corn Chicken Soup, which was thick, flavorful, and had a good portion size—perfect for setting the mood for the meal. For drinks, we had Gin with Coke and Sangria, both of which were served chilled and refreshing. For the main course, we tried Kung Pao Chicken, Honey Chilli Chicken, and Squids Batter Fry, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were well-balanced, and the food was freshly prepared. Service was quick and efficient, and the staff were friendly and hospitable, making the experience even better. If you're looking for authentic Goan food at reasonable prices with great ambiance and service, this place is highly recommended. Overall, a fantastic experience—great food, great service, and a great vibe! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The goan fish thali is the star of the show The king fish rechado was equally good and for the first time ever I had a very tasty chicken vindaloo which normally is prepared with pork in other places
Joel W — Google review
Awaiting the Thali: An "Okay" Experience at Ritz Classic ★★★ (3/5 Stars) We visited Ritz Classic in Margao with high expectations, having heard rave reviews, especially about their Goan Fish Curry Thali. This was the primary reason for our trip, as we were eager to experience what so many locals and tourists highly recommend. Unfortunately, we learned upon arrival that the famous Fish Curry Thali is strictly a lunchtime offering. Since we were visiting in the evening, we had to pivot our order. We opted for the King Fish Curry with plain rice and a Tandoori Chicken Salad. While the food was certainly edible and the service was efficient, nothing truly stood out. The King Fish Curry was decent, but it lacked that rich, complex flavor that defines truly great Goan cuisine. The Tandoori Chicken Salad was also just an "ok ok" dish—it did the job but offered no sparkling factor or memorable flavour profile that would make us rush back immediately. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation, we left feeling a bit underwhelmed by the standard à la carte fare. However, I still firmly believe the fault may lie with our timing. Our 3-star rating reflects the average experience we had, but we are definitely planning another visit during lunch hours. We still want to try that thali once to see if it lives up to the hype!
Varun K — Google review
We came across the restaurant on our way back after a light early dinner and decided to check it out. I have tried their Panjim branch before, which was pretty decent. We chose a seat with a nice road view and ordered tiger prawns special in reshado masala and fish curry rice. The food was excellent—flavorful and satisfying. My only feedback is that the prawn shells weren’t fully removed, making them a bit messy to eat. The fish curry was authentic and delicious. We left with full stomachs and needed a long walk afterward. Overall, a great dining experience with a lovely view.

What a lovely lunch date we had here. Best food and vibe. Beautiful ambience and lively people. The staff was so quick and hardworking. I loved the kaju tomato curry and naan.
Apurva W — Google review
Extremely disappointed with the service at Ritz Classic. We had to wait far too long just for my son’s French fries, and the garlic cheese naan was served only after we had already finished our main course — and even then it was cold. On top of that, our thali didn’t even come with papadum, which is a basic expectation. When we asked, the waiter seemed nervous and unsure, which only made the experience more frustrating. For a restaurant with such a big name, the service really fell short. I much prefer going to the Panjim branch, where the food is hot, timely, and the staff are far more attenti

If you are in South Goa and craving authentic, delicious seafood, look no further. Ritz Classic in Margao is a culinary institution for a reason. I came here with high expectations, and they were completely blown away. The star of the show is, without a doubt, their legendary Seafood Thali. It's an absolute symphony of Goan flavours on one plate – the tangy fish curry, the perfectly fried fish, the fresh vegetables, and all the accompaniments are just perfect. It offers incredible value and a true taste of Goa. But don't stop at the thali! We ventured into their à la carte menu and were rewarded handsomely. The Squid Butter Garlic was divine; cooked to tender perfection and coated in a rich, aromatic sauce that was simply addictive. We also tried their crab preparation, which was incredibly fresh and flavourful, showcasing the quality of the seafood they use. Every dish that came to our table was a testament to their mastery of seafood. This is, without a doubt, my go-to place for seafood in Margao. The focus here is purely on fresh ingredients and phenomenal taste. Highly, highly recommended!
