Nestled in the serene rainforest of Morne Trois Piton National Park, Emerald Pool is a tranquil natural pool adorned with a rocky ledge and a small waterfall. The allure of this hidden gem lies in the adventure of tracking through the jungle to stumble upon its captivating beauty. Visitors can also explore nearby attractions such as Rosalie, Coco Cascades, Flocky Falls, and Morgan River Falls.
Stunning place. We got there as it opened and had the place to ourselves. Lovely swimming pond and access to the waterfall and a short circular walk. Lots of stalls outside for souvenirs etc and a cafe changing rooms at the entrance. Helpful national park staff. Covered by the National park Entrance ticket. As we left it was heaving with tour groups from Cruise ships and wouldn't have been anywhere near as good so avoid these days or get there early as we did.

Emerald Pool is one of the island’s true natural treasures. The site is absolutely beautiful, with lush surroundings and crystal-clear water that make the short hike totally worth it. It’s well maintained, and the path is designed for a self-guided tour, with informative signs that make the experience smooth and enjoyable. That said, it’s a bit bittersweet to know that such a national beauty has been privatized. Places like this should ideally benefit the government and the local people directly, not just private companies. Still, the care taken to preserve and showcase the site is undeniable. The water is stunning!! though definitely on the cold side! At the end of the visit, you’ll find several small shops, but most of them offer the same limited selection of items, and prices are on the higher end! something to keep in mind if you’re hoping to shop for souvenirs.

Emerald Pool in Dominica is a big Cruise Excursion destination for the Big 3 (Norwegian, Carnival and Royal Caribbean). I came here on a carnival cruise and enjoyed the drive from the cruise port , the walk through rainforest scenery to get to the pool and then the waterfall and emerald pool destination. I hope your time here is a positive experience and I am sure Dominica has lots of spots like this all over the island :)
DavPru — Google review
Amazing site in Dominica. You can enter with a day pass or 7-day pass which is valid at other sites (like the Indian River). The water is cool and fresh. The path to the pool has been made way more accessible than in prior years but those with mobility issues might struggle.

The Emerald Pool is absolutely magical! What a beautiful waterfall and such a peaceful spot. I visited at the beginning of October, during the off-season, and it was perfect — hardly any tourists around and no cruise ships in port. I actually had the entire place to myself, which made it even more special. The walk to the pool takes about 10 minutes. The path is well-paved with steps, so it’s not difficult at all. There are restrooms located near the entrance where you get your ticket. Definitely a must-do when visiting Dominica!

Excepcional! Thea road is'ts perfect! And the environment is just amazing, the view points are worthy!! I'll come back

What a beautiful experience! Not to mention the Banana Leaf restaurant serving up great local bites! But back to Emerald Pool... I wish I could visit everyday! The water is a clear bluish green and the waterfall is breath taking. The cove next to the deeper pool is spectacular. One thing I thought was cool were the orange crabs seemingly hiding and basking in the sun. The short hike to the falls and pool was perfection because of the canopy coverage. This was just a spectacular moment of our trip. Emerald Pool is a must see in DA

Jacko Falls is a stunning waterfall located near Pont Casse in Dominica. The journey to reach the falls involves navigating through the jungle, adding an element of adventure to the experience. The road leading to the falls is long and winding, but the breathtaking natural beauty makes it worth the trip. Visitors are advised to wear water shoes and comfortable clothing for a safe and enjoyable time at this wheelchair-friendly attraction.
Beautiful waterfall! The journey there from Roseau isnt too long but the roads are very bendy as you go up in the hills but it's totally worth it. The water is quite cold but not freezing. You get use to it once you're in. The rocks inside can be quite sharpish but it's cool if you take your time. I felt energized after visiting
Martell C — Google review
It's worth the entry fee if you plan on spending a longer time swimming here. It's a very short walk to the falls, with several steps. Minimal roadside parking
Kris W — Google review
Beautiful. Concrete steps and railings...about 76 steps down to falls. Large flat uneven rocks from bottom of stairs about 25' to the falls. You can swim. Not an easy ingress or egress, but refreshing. Worth the effort! Recommended.
Kent B — Google review
Very beautiful waterfall just a few minutes walk from the roadside. The falls are private so you must pay a fee to enter, believe it was EC$7. Follow a set of steep steps down to the falls, super easy and quick. A bit rocky at the bottom but clear gorgeous water.
Jessica K — Google review
Beautiful falls area to visit. This was part of an organized tour we took through a cruise line, the falls are great, but I kind of question the distance and time it takes to get there and back. It severely cut into other things we might have been able to do. The road there is very long and zig zags up the mountain. It can be fun, but it is a long drive. The falls area is touted as wheelchair friendly (and we had a WC user in our group) and it is to an extent. We were able to wheel over to an observation deck far above the falls, but could not go down the long stairs that lead to the falls directly. We could visit the "bar" also, it offered rum punch, fruit juice and fresh fruit.
Edward Z — Google review
Was amazing place. It's very safe place. Take your water shoes and your comfortable clothes to enjoy it.
Maribel P — Google review
Beautiful spot, it’s secluded but free for everyone to go to. A lot of steps to go down, but at the end it is stunning, you can swim there, we saw young school kids chilling with music that was good to see.

Middleham Falls is a stunning 200-ft waterfall located in Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Dominica. It is easily accessible through a moderate hike that takes you through lush rainforest vegetation. The trail leads to the magnificent falls where water cascades into a refreshing pool below, inviting visitors for a swim. This hidden gem is one of the best-kept secrets on the island and offers an exhilarating experience as you cross rivers and hike through jungle terrain to reach it.
About a 45 min hike from the parking area. I would not say this is an easy hike but it is definitely not extremely difficult if you are slightly active. The hike is well worth it once you reach the falls!
Joe H — Google review
Incredible hike! Easy for regular hikers, a good beginner climb for new hikers tjay are looking got a mini challenge. It takes anywhere from 1.5hrs to 2.5hrs total. When wet, the climb down to the falls is a bit precarious, so it is recommended to wear good hiking shoes. The view of the falls is well worth the trip!
Carissa S — Google review
Very beautiful trail. The water fall is the tallest we saw in the island. However, you can only view it from a platform.
JD T — Google review
Nice hike in, roughly 45mins but not difficult. If you have knee/ankle issues take it slowly as the ground is muddy/slippy and with lots of steps. The bird songs are beautiful as you hike and there are crabs and lizards around. The waterfall itself is beautiful,.one to the nicest we have ever seen with a nice pool you can swim in.
Ciara W — Google review
Wow, what an incredible hike and reward at the end. Even though I'm pretty fit, I found this hike fairly tough. I was able to get my rental car all the way up to the lot but the roads are bumpy and under construction. I presented my weekly site pass, as well. Almost immediately, you cross a small stream with a few others along the way. For me, it was about 45 minutes straight up through rocks, logs, mud and roots. Then, about five minutes of flat walking where you’ll come to a head. Stay to the left and start your descent. About 15-20 minutes down, and it's very steep. At one point, after the wooden steps you'll hit a steam with large rocks. I almost couldn't tell where to go but you have to cross over all the large rocks and continue straight down, using your hands in some spots. Use caution on rocks near the waterfall, they're super slippery. Also, wasn't able to go down to swim. I wasn't clear which way and I was the only one there so I wanted to be safe. I wore regular tennis shoes but hiking shoes would've helped tremendously. Waterfall is stunning and the nature is so peaceful!
Jessica K — Google review
The hike in to the falls is moderate, but the last descent down to the falls is very slippery. Use caution and wear good hiking shoes. The falls are beautiful! Definitely worth the effort.
Brad W — Google review
Well maintained trail through mature rainforest with impressive buttress roots on huge kapok trees. Many birds including Jaco parrots, also saw land crabs and lizards. Note: at gazebo trail junction turn left to go down to falls.
Julie E — Google review
The Middleham Falls are really a magic place! It's not just the Falls, it's the way to get there. It's amazing to step up the hill and having all these stunning and different views over the jungle. You got to be a bit trained to do the way with the countless wooden steps, but it's worth it!

Titou Gorge is a narrow and picturesque swimming destination located at the edge of Morne Trois Pitons National Park in Laudat, which serves as the gateway to the park. The gorge features high cliff walls through which light filters down, creating a stunning atmosphere. It is nestled in the Dominican rainforest, an area known for its cool and misty environment due to heavy rainfall.
Titou Gorge is a natural wonder. Just beware that the only chance to see the waterfall, is to plunge into the cold water and swim upriver through the Gorge!

A great land excursion while visiting Dominica. The water is quite chilly, but not too cold. The whole experience was fabulous
Matt G — Google review
Titou Gorge was a highlight in Dominica! The water is cold but refreshing, and swimming through the narrow gorge surrounded by lush greenery is unforgettable. Not too crowded, fun, and the waterfall at the end makes it worth the trip. Dominica truly surprised me in the best way!
Marta S — Google review
I stopped at Titou Gorge after visiting Trafalgar Falls, and I’m so glad I did — it’s absolutely breathtaking! The water is cold and crystal clear. We didn’t go all the way to the waterfall, but we went far enough back to see it deep in the canyon. Fun fact: a scene from Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed here! They charge you for a life vest that is required but it's only like $5 us and there was no charge to actually get into the gorge, just the rental of the Life fest. There are warm water fountains coming out as you walk in so if you're coming out of the gorge and you're cold you can go under there and warm up. It’s such a unique and amazing spot. I visited during the off-season at the beginning of October, and there was only one other person there besides me, so I basically had the whole place to myself. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in Dominica!
Nichole P — Google review
Very nice excursion...they gave u lifejacket for extra pay...everytime they are taking care of u. They can take pictures...water is not cold and they have fitting room if need it. You can see very nice places all the way.
Lourdes C — Google review
So so incredible. Amazing water attraction. Be sure to get a guide to traverse this attraction, it is beautiful but can be dangerous. Tube rentals and life jackets costed 10EC each and rental of a waterproof phone case was 10 EC. The tour guide is tipped at your discretion but they work hard so please leave a tip !
Arnelle A — Google review
Really cool experience! Safer with a guide if you struggle with balance in rough waters. Doable without the guide. The guide provides a better experience with some history and fun facts along with tons of photos and videos of your experience.
Carissa S — Google review
Great fun for everyone. They have everything you need. Yes, you need your own swimsuit. Short swim in to see the falls. It is not a cave, nothing to freak out about, the kids will love it. 100% safe.

Freshwater Lake is a picturesque destination located in Morne Trois Pitons National Park, accessible from Laudat village. The lake is surrounded by a scenic trail that takes about half an hour to complete and offers stunning views of tropical flora such as bromeliads, orchids, mountain palms, and ferns. Legend has it that the lake is home to a mythical monster adding an air of mystery to the area.
One of the best place of the island to visit. Simple access, short hike (about one hour) , and amazing landscapes and scenic views. Make a pause at the facility and chill (!) out. Often cloudy but really worth it

(Translated by Google) Great hike full of adventure at Fresh Water Lake! Located about 40 minutes from Roseau, the lake is easily accessible by car with ample parking available. Little advice: bring warm clothes, a waterproof windbreaker and good hiking shoes. The higher you go, the colder it gets, with wind and sometimes rain. The hike takes about 2 hours and the ground can be very slippery due to the mud. There are a few sections where you have to hold on to a rope to move forward, but with soil erosion, some poles have fallen, making these sections a little more technical. It is better to be used to hiking to fully enjoy it. But the effort is worth it! The scenery is magnificent, with lush vegetation all along the trail. We pass through a dense tropical forest where you can hear frogs and observe superb tree ferns, various palm trees and a great diversity of endemic plants. The view of the lake from above is impressive. A must-see hike for nature and adventure lovers 🥾! ‐---------------------------- Great adventure hike at Fresh Water Lake! Freshwater Lake Trail

Hiking area
Freshwater Lake Trail is a popular hiking spot in Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Dominica. The trail offers a unique experience of a cloud forest with distinct flora and fauna. The area receives abundant rainfall, creating a spongy ground and lush vegetation. Visitors can encounter the critically endangered mountain chicken frog along the well-maintained road leading to the trailhead. The trail surrounds a beautiful rainforest lake, providing a cooler escape from coastal heat.
Extremely muddy following rains with good elevation gains and some more challenging stretches with the need for the provided ropes. Serene and amazing views. Made a half day of it by hiking up to Boeri Lake after finishing the Freshwater Lake Trail. Site passes were pre-purchased but looked to possibly be available at the visitor center (which has some great information as well).

Lovely 1.6 (ish) mile trail around the freshwater lake. It is VERY steep in parts, but very doable. Takes around an hour depending on the pace of your group. The views are amazing. Recommend doing this hike to see all angles of the lake
Adrian S — Google review
Easiest spot on island to experience a cloud forest which had unique flora and fauna compared to the other environments. It gets considerably more rain than the rainforest and in many spots the ground had a unique "spongy" feeling. On the drive up we went from blue skies to overcast and rain. Even spotted a critically endangered mountain chicken frog! Though wasnt quick enough to snap a photo. Road is very well maintained, with a large parking area.
Anthony K — Google review
Good hike. We did both lakes on a misty day pretty much alone. Good experience. Wear good shoes which can deal with water and mud. Be careful as trails can be very slippery when its raining.
Michael F — Google review
The Freshwater Lake Trail around the lake of that name in Morne Trois Pitons National Park, Dominica, has lots of ups and downs. The upper portion of the trail is along the rim of an inactive volcano. The views and vegetation make it an unforgettable experience.
David S — Google review
Beautiful rainforest lake where you can almost always escape the heat of the coastline - it is usually about 10 degrees cooler here. You can swim and even kayak in the small lake, part of the Dominica hydroelectric system. The trail is very subject to the weather; if it is or has recently rained it will be very muddy and the many log steps slippery. While I had to rate the trail as moderate, it is extremely steep for many stretches, with clay and log steps as deep as 2 1/2 to 3 feet high and shaky rope railings. If you are afraid of heights, this is probably not your trail. We hiked it when it was misting and encased in clouds, so we had to come back another day to appreciate the spectacular mountain and ocean views.

Trafalgar Falls, located in Dominica, is a stunning natural attraction featuring twin waterfalls. The 125ft 'Father' fall and the 75ft 'Mother' fall can be viewed from a platform near Papillote Wilderness Retreat. A short, easy trail leads to the falls, making it accessible for visitors. The area offers a cold-water pool by one waterfall and hot spring water by the other.
Easy and short hike to Mother and Father falls. Astonishingly beautiful. There is a thermal spring up near the base of the Father. You do not need a guide but they are available on the viewing platform if you wish. Amazing place.

Beautiful space. I couldn't climb up because I didn't have water shoes and I couldn't get through the rocks. Bought the most amazing cookies I've ever had and a guava cherry juice. Delicious

It’s a pretty good waterfall with an easy enough hike (15-20 minutes) but they changed the price to $20 USD per person, for only one site. You can only pay in cash on site and they are very misleading about what the passes apply to. I’ve been to better waterfalls for free

Trafalgar Falls is absolutely beautiful! I visited during the off-season, and there was only one other person there — it was so peaceful. The scenery is incredible, and it’s the perfect place to just sit and watch the waterfalls. It honestly feels like you’ve stepped into another world… almost like Jurassic Park! It was only like $5 USD. The view is stunning and definitely a great spot for photos. The walk from the entrance is super easy — only about 5 minutes on a well-maintained path. There are restrooms near the front where you purchase your ticket. A must-see while visiting Dominica!

Fun short walk through the jungle with a bunch of lizards. You can boulder your way to the base of the falls, but it isn't easy. Great view of the falls for those not wanting to climb. We were there for 45 mins and enjoyed climbing around and playing in the river. $5 entry fee.
