Nestled in the heart of Pune, the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir stands as a beacon of devotion and artistry. This iconic temple, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, boasts stunning marble interiors and a magnificent golden idol that captivates visitors from all walks of life. Established in 1893 by Shri Dagdusheth Halwai and his wife Lakshmibai following a personal tragedy, this sacred site has become one of India's most revered places for worship.
Visiting Dagdusheth Ganpati was a truly divine experience. The moment I reached the temple, the atmosphere was filled with chants of “Ganpati Bappa Morya” and the fragrance of flowers and incense. The magnificent idol of Lord Ganesha, beautifully adorned with gold ornaments, instantly filled my heart with peace and devotion. Even amidst the crowd, darshan was smooth because of the temple’s unique design that allows everyone to see Bappa clearly. The positive energy, the devotion of people, and the feeling of being in the presence of Lord Ganesha made the visit unforgettable. I left with a calm mind, a grateful heart, and a sense of blessings that will stay with me forever. 🙏✨ Truly, Dagdusheth is Navsala Pavnara Ganpati ✨🙏

Visiting the Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple is always a divine and soul-soothing experience. Located in the heart of Pune, this temple is not just a place of worship but a symbol of devotion, culture, and tradition. The moment you step inside, you can feel an aura of peace, positivity, and spiritual energy surrounding you. The Ganpati idol here is truly magnificent — beautifully adorned with gold and intricate ornaments. The eyes of Lord Ganesha seem so lively and compassionate that one instantly feels connected and blessed. The temple management ensures that everything is well organized, from darshan queues to cleanliness and safety measures. Despite being one of the most popular temples in Maharashtra, the darshan moves smoothly thanks to the systematic arrangement and polite volunteers who guide devotees with patience and warmth. The surrounding area is also well maintained, and facilities like shoe counters and prasad distribution are handled efficiently. During festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, the entire place transforms into a vibrant celebration with lights, music, and devotion — yet the sense of discipline and organization remains intact. It’s heartwarming to see how the temple also engages in various charitable activities, helping the needy and supporting social causes throughout the year. Overall, visiting Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple is a must for anyone in Pune — whether for spiritual solace, cultural significance, or simply to experience the deep devotion of countless devotees. A truly divine place that fills your heart with peace and gratitude.

I had wanted to visit Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir for a long time, and finally got the chance. Even though it was Diwali, the crowd was well-managed, and devotees were able to move around comfortably thanks to the efficient security personnel. One small improvement could be providing a tap or facility to wash hands, as we place our chappals on the stand with bare hands. Overall, the temple is well-organized, spiritually uplifting, and a must-visit for anyone coming to Pune.

SHREE DAGDUSHETH HALWAI GANPATI – PUNE’S ICONIC GANESH TEMPLE We visited the famed Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati—Pune’s answer to Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja—and were truly amazed by the authentic and wholesome vibe of the festivities. The idol is majestic, with a traditional Puneri crown that’s instantly recognizable. The temple interiors are adorned with chandeliers, and despite the crowd, the pandits are calm, making the darshan peaceful. You can even stay back for the aarti, which adds a spiritual depth to the visit. A thoughtful feature is the glass viewing section on the front wall, allowing devotees to seek blessings even from the road during rush hours. During Ganeshotsav, the idol is ceremoniously moved to a temporary mandap at the end of the road, accompanied by traditional dhol-tasha groups and grand processions full of energy and devotion. It’s not just a temple—it’s a cultural experience. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Dagdusheth Ganpati offers a glimpse into Pune’s soul, wrapped in devotion, tradition, and celebration.

“Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir is one of the most divine and peaceful places in Pune. The beautifully decorated idol of Lord Ganesha is truly mesmerizing — one glimpse fills your heart with calm and positivity. The temple is well-maintained, clean, and the darshan is usually smooth thanks to the organized management. The surrounding area is lively, yet the moment you enter the mandir, you feel a deep sense of devotion and peace. A must-visit for anyone seeking blessings and a serene spiritual experience. Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir is a must-visit landmark in Pune. The idol is grand and beautifully adorned, especially during festivals. The temple is centrally located, very clean, and perfect for tourists, photographers, and devotees alike. A great blend of culture, tradition, and devotion. Every visit to Dagdusheth Ganpati Mandir feels like a moment of pure blessing. The divine aura, calming chants, and the beautifully decorated Bappa instantly lift your mood and give you fresh energy. It’s a place where devotion truly comes alive.”
Arpita S — Google review
One of the most beautiful temples in Pune. Visiting this temple is truly a divine experience. The moment you see Lord Ganesh, so beautifully adorned, you can instantly feel the spiritual aura and positive energy around you. Despite being crowded most of the time, the temple is managed exceptionally well, no matter when you visit, you’ll always get a peaceful darshan of Ganesh ji. There’s also a Shiva temple within the same premises, adding to the sacred atmosphere. The poojari are humble and ensure everyone receives aarti and prasad with warmth. During Ganesh Chaturthi, the temple looks absolutely magnificent. Ganesh ji is decorated in gold, and the sight is truly something else. Spending time here fills you with calmness and devotion. I am genuinely a fan of this temple, it’s a place that never fails to bring peace and positivity.

Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Mandir is one of the most iconic and spiritually uplifting places in Pune. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha and is known for its stunning idol, beautifully adorned with gold ornaments and an aura of divine serenity. The idol itself is a sight to behold — tall, majestic, and radiating peace. The temple is very well-maintained, with smooth arrangements for darshan, even during peak hours or festivals. The area around the temple is always bustling with devotees, yet the atmosphere inside remains calm and devotional. The staff and volunteers are courteous and manage the crowd efficiently. It’s not just a place of worship but also a symbol of Pune’s rich culture and devotion. Whether you're a local or a visitor, a visit to Dagdusheth Mandir leaves you feeling spiritually refreshed and at peace. A must-visit for anyone seeking blessings or simply wanting to experience the divine energy of this sacred place.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Visiting the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Temple was a beautiful and divine experience. The temple is filled with positive energy and devotion, and the darshan feels truly special. For first-time visitors, here are a few useful tips to make your visit smooth: • Avoid taking your car directly into the temple lane. The lane is extremely congested, one-way, and located in a busy market area. You won’t find parking nearby. It’s best to park your vehicle 500 meters to 1 km away and take a rickshaw to the temple. • You can choose a fast-track darshan pass for around ₹100 to directly go for darshan. There is also a regular darshan queue behind the temple where you can go without a pass. • Photography is not allowed inside the temple. If you wish to take pictures, you must visit the temple office and get proper permission first. • There is a shoe rack facility available where you can safely keep your footwear and get a token. Overall, a wonderful and peaceful darshan experience. Just be mindful about the approach road and parking, and everything else will be absolutely blissful. Must-visit for everyone seeking blessings in Pune!

The Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is a hidden gem in Pune that takes you on a fascinating journey through India’s art, culture, and traditions. What makes it special is the sheer variety of artifacts over thousands of everyday objects, musical instruments, weapons, and beautiful household items collected by the passionate Dr. D.G. Kelkar in memory of his son. Each room feels like a treasure chest, offering something unique to admire, from intricate carvings to traditional paintings and rare ornaments. Walking through the museum is like stepping into different eras of Indian life, and it’s both educational and deeply engaging. The atmosphere inside is calm, and the stories behind the collections make the visit memorable. A must-visit for anyone who wants to see India’s heritage up close.

This museum is located in the most unexpected part of Pune; in the middle of a market. It is worth a visit. The ticket chargers are 120rs per adult, and 50rs per child. Mobile photos have extra charges of 100rs. They have Indian artefacts, mostly from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu etc. One must follow the direct on the walls, otherwise it is easy to miss the Mastani Mahal. The vibe is calm, and peaceful. If you are an interested in ancient Indian culture and history, this is a must visit.
Sharon G — Google review
It is privately managed so a bit ticket price is higher side. Even for taking photos from mobile there is seperate ticket. But 100% value for money in terms of knowledge, experience what you get once you visit there. So many things you will find you haven't heard or explored before. Also hard to keep them in same condition so good collection of old age things. If you are in Pune, you must visit once for sure there. 1-3 hrs can take. Parking might be an issue we came here by using rickshaw as we travelled by it in Pune to visit different places. It was very convenient. This museum collection is very big, as I remember it has 3 floors. Ticket prices: Adults: ₹100 Children (under 12): ₹30 Photography: ₹100 (for mobile/camera) - they issue a band to be worn on wrist which shows you have taken ticket for photography. (Remember they keep on observing if somebody is taking photo without ticket then they stop it)

Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum is a fascinating destination that offers a deep dive into the cultural heritage and history of India. Located in Shukrawar Peth, Bajirao road which is @ 4km from Pune Station. We have visited this place after our visit to Okayama Friendship Garden. From there also it is situated at a distance of 4km. Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum contains the collections of Dr. Dinkar G Kelkar, dedicated to the memory of his only son Raja who died at the age of seven. This museum is displayed in three store building in two different wings called as Wing A & Wing B. In Wing A, the ground floor had objects of beauty and culture. The first floor contains utensils used in olden days. The second floor inhabited the textile Gallery. The third floor has special exhibition with mixed items. In B wing, the Ivory gallery is on the ground floor. The first floor has musical instruments and decor from famous Mastani Mahal. The second floor has the lamps gallery. Interesting Facts about Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum: 1. Kelkar Museum welcomes tourists with a huge decorative door, locally known as Dindi Darwaja. A number of small intricately curved windows and an open courtyard at the center give a feel of a characteristic Marathi atmosphere. Don't miss to see the same as most of the people rush inside without seeing such beautiful Dindi Darwaja. 2. This Museum is started in 1962. Collection started in the year 1920, and by 1984 total 15,000 objects were collected. Today total collection reached up to 22,000 objects. The Museum was initially named as Raja Sangraha, later as Raha Kelkar Historical Collections and finally named as Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum. 3. Dinkar Kelkar Ji Spent 60 years of his life travelling across India including remote places to collect and purchase rare and relic objects. Dr. Kelkar donated this museum to Maharashtra government in 1975. 4. Major attraction of this museum is the Mastani Mahal. Dr. Kelkar with the help of technicians dismantled a section of Mastani Mahal that was lying abandoned in the forests of Kothrud and shifted it to present location of the Museum. 5. Today total collection of Museum reached up to 22,000 objects, but due to space constraints 85% of the objects are not displayed and remain in shadows. Shaniwar Wada

4.3
(126403)
Historical landmark
Shaniwar Wada, a historic fortification in Pune, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Built in 1732, it was the seat of the Peshwas and played a significant role in Maratha Empire's history. The grand entrance, Dilli Darwaza, and intricate woodwork inside the palace offer a glimpse into centuries of history. The architecture reflects an emphasis on security while the affordable ticket prices make it accessible to all.
Here’s a polished review combining history + present experience + ticket info, still short and reader-friendly: Shaniwar Wada, built in 1732 by Bajirao I, was once the seat of the mighty Peshwas. Though much of it was lost to fire, the grand gates, lawns, and ruins still reflect Maratha pride. Today it’s a peaceful spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy the heritage in the heart of Pune. Entry tickets cost just ₹20 and can be easily booked online.
Deepak E — Google review
Shaniwar Wada has a unique charm and is one of the most popular heritage sites in Pune. Entry ticket is ₹20, and online booking is compulsory. Although only the ground structures remain today, the original architecture and concept must have been magnificent. For accessing the upper floor, there are only two options: one right beside the main entrance and another directly opposite, which is a bit far. The room above the main entrance has a distinct and unforgettable appearance — it still seems to hold a soul from the past. The peripheral boundary allows you to walk around and enjoy a scenic view of Shaniwar Wada, making it a memorable experience for history and architecture enthusiasts.
Janhavi R — Google review
I visited Shaniwar Wada and really liked the place. The fort has beautiful old architecture and big gateways that show the history of the Peshwa era. The garden inside is peaceful and well-maintained. Walking around the fort, you can imagine how grand it must have been in the past. The light and sound show in the evening is also a good way to learn more about its history. Overall, Shaniwar Wada is a nice place to visit if you enjoy history, heritage, and calm surroundings.
Ashwini R — Google review
Shaniwar Wada is a historical place. Whenever I think of Shaniwar Wada, I am reminded of Bajirao Peshwa. I can only imagine the grandeur this fort must have had in those times. Even today, this stone structure feels like it has something to say. You must definitely visit this fort. It is extremely beautiful and well maintained. Its history still stands tall with pride.
Dipti S — Google review
Shaniwar Wada is a colossal historical fortification in the heart of Pune, Maharashtra, India. Once the magnificent seat of the Peshwas of the Maratha Empire, this 18th-century structure is a testament to the power, architectural brilliance, and dramatic history of one of India's most significant ruling dynasties. Despite being largely in ruins due to a devastating fire in 1828, the remaining structure continues to captivate visitors, making it a must-visit historical landmark. Historical Significance and Background The Seat of Power: Built by Peshwa Bajirao I starting in 1732 (the name literally means "Saturday Residence," as the foundation stone was laid on a Saturday), Shaniwar Wada served as the administrative and residential headquarters of the Peshwas until 1818. It was the nerve centre of the Maratha Empire during its rise to prominence. The Seven-Story Marvel: Originally, the Wada was planned as a colossal seven-story stone palace. However, due to opposition from locals and other political reasons, much of the construction above the stone plinth was completed using brick and wood, which tragically made it vulnerable to fire. Tragedy and Legend: The Wada is steeped in tales of political intrigue and tragedy. Most famously, it is associated with the assassination of the young fifth Peshwa, Narayanrao, in 1773. Legend says his dying cry, "Kaka mala wachawa" (Uncle, save me!), can still be heard on full moon nights, contributing to its reputation as one of the most haunted places in India. Architectural Highlights Though largely destroyed, the surviving elements of Shaniwar Wada brilliantly showcase a blend of Maratha and Mughal architectural styles, emphasizing both grandeur and security. * Massive Gates: The five magnificent entry gates are the most intact parts of the fort. * Dilli Darwaza (Delhi Gate): The primary and most imposing entrance, facing north (towards Delhi). It features gigantic wooden doors fortified with 72 sharp, twelve-inch steel spikes to deter elephant charges. * Other gates include the Mastani Darwaja (or Alibahadur Darwaja), Ganesh Darwaja, Jambhal Darwaja, and Khidki Darwaja. * Fortified Walls and Bastions: The strong, high fortification walls and nine bastion towers surrounding the complex attest to its strategic military importance. * Intricate Woodwork (Remains): Historical records indicate that the original seven-story palace featured exquisitely carved teak pillars and arches, polished marble floors, and ceilings adorned with tracery and glass chandeliers. While most of this was lost in the fire, the surviving structure hints at the past magnificence. * Hazari Karanje (Fountain of a Thousand Jets): The impressive lotus-shaped fountain, built for the pleasure of the infant Peshwa Sawai Madhavrao, remains a point of architectural interest. Its remnants suggest a complex water system. Visitor Experience Shaniwar Wada is an essential stop for any history enthusiast visiting Pune. * Exploring the Ruins and Gardens: Visitors spend an average of 1 to 3 hours exploring the vast courtyard, the surrounding fortified walls, and the well-maintained lawns. Walking along the walls provides a good perspective of the structure's scale. * The Light and Sound Show: Held in the evening, the light and sound show is highly recommended. It vividly narrates the history of the Peshwas, the construction of the Wada, and the dramatic events that unfolded within its walls, bringing the ruins to life. * Photography: The gates, especially the Dilli Darwaza, and the sprawling gardens offer excellent photography opportunities. It’s an excellent place for those interested in Indian military architecture, history, and the dramatic legends of the Peshwa era. The evening light and sound show is the key that unlocks the full historical and emotional experience, making a visit to Shaniwar Wada an unforgettable journey back in time.

This is a historical place located at Mid Pune. It is beside Lal Mahal and Dagduseth Ganpati Temple. Shaniwar Wada was built by Peshwa's. The surrounding is good. Now only the remains of this place is left. It was also excavated by Archaelogical Survey of India (ASI).

Visited this place on 16 Nov 2025. Timing is 9am to 5:30pm. It is well connected by road. But many near by roads are one way only. You have to buy ticket for this place, for adult 20₹/person is the price. You can buy ticket online, you can search on google. There is free parking available for two and four wheelers, since it’s a very much crowded place and heavy traffic. Place is very good and has the historical importance. But not maintained at all by the authorities.

South Indian restaurant
Vaishali Restaurant is a beloved establishment in Pune, known for its South Indian classics and outdoor garden seating. It's highly recommended for first-time visitors due to its traditional yet locally adjusted recipes, such as the slightly sweeter sambhar. Despite its confusing name, Vaishali stands out as a humble and popular dining spot, especially among students. The restaurant also excels in Maharashtrian dishes.
Vaishali is truly one of Pune’s iconic and most popular restaurants – always buzzing with people! The food quality here is top-notch and absolutely worth coming for. I personally loved it – every dish feels fresh and delicious. Ambience is decent (nothing fancy, but comfortable) and service is okay. It can get really busy, so expect a little wait time, but the food makes up for it. Prices are slightly on the higher side compared to small eateries, but honestly, the taste and quality justify it completely. One downside is parking – it’s either not available or a huge struggle. I’d strongly recommend coming by bike, cab, or bus instead of trying to bring your car. Overall, a must-visit place in Pune if you’re a foodie! 👌

Red flag 🚩 : They do not serve grilled sandwich, all sandwich without grill. They add sugar in dosa , coconut chutney, sambar, very high in coffee too. So all this taste sweet. Mostly crowded but their service is fast so will get table in 5 min .

📍I recently visited Vaishali Restaurant on FC Road, and it completely lived up to its legendary reputation! The atmosphere is vibrant and nostalgic — it feels like one of those timeless Pune spots where everyone has a memory. 📍I ordered the Mysore Masala Dosa and Filter Coffee, and both were absolutely delicious. The dosa was crisp and flavorful, and the coffee had that perfect South Indian aroma. The staff were polite and the service was quick, even though the place was quite crowded. 📍It’s a bit tough to find seating during peak hours, but the taste and experience make it totally worth the wait. Definitely one of my favorite places in Pune for authentic South Indian food and a relaxed outing with friends

On my wife’s recommendation, I decided to revisit Vaishali after almost a decade—and I was pleasantly surprised by how good it is! We tried the Idli Wada and Mysore Masala Dosa, and I must say, it’s the best I’ve had in Pune so far. Luckily, I went in the morning, so finding a seat was easy and I could enjoy my breakfast peacefully. A special mention to Mr. Jayant Poojari, who served us with great warmth and a welcoming smile. The only small drawback was that the sambhar quantity felt a bit less for one person, so I’m deducting a star for that. Otherwise, absolutely worth the visit!

One of Pune's most iconic places. A true gem 💎. Never disappoints you. Popular for (Must try); 1) Veg Cutlet (fully loaded with beetroot and carrot 🥕) 2) Tomato Omelette (100% vegetarian) 3) Ghee Mysore Cheese Masala Dosa Many people like their coffee ☕ but I personally don't like it (it's bitter). Usually crowded throughout the day and gets even busier in the evenings. For every core पुणेरी (Puneri), Vaishali is not a vibe, it's an emotion!! If you are going for the first time, you must take someone who has been here many times!!! Remember it's a snacking South Indian restaurant and you don't get Punjabi Sabji and Roti here, so don't dare to ask such silly question to waiter and avoid making fun of yourself in a public place!!! Advantages: 1. Super-fast service! 2. Supreme Quality 3. Ideal for snacking Yeah, there are a few drawbacks like: 1) Longer waiting time (but it's worth waiting) 2) Noisy due to the crowd! (Can't help).
Atharv W — Google review
Very pathetic. It's an overhyped place. Because of the hype I went there but it's not at all worth it. There is always about half n hour waiting. I am even OK with it if food and ambience is good. But reality was very bad. 1. Food was not wow taste. You can get thsi taste in any average place. 2.tea was horrible. Tasted like it was reheated and no taste. 3. For sambar they charge extra amount! Can you believe that? Also things are overpriced. 4. Ambience is waste. Top is covered with plastic sheets. Table was broken at corner. 5. It was not hygienic. The spoons kept on table were dirty
GAURAV K — Google review
Good food with nice taste. The chutney was just okay, not like the authentic South Indian ones we’ve had in Bangalore. But the Mysore dosa was really good, and the mango shake was also refreshing. Worth a try!✅
Satish H — Google review
Visited the iconic Vaishali on FC Road — the place definitely has a nostalgic vibe and is always buzzing with crowds. The ambience is lively and great for casual hangouts. Food quality is decent, but honestly, it's more about the experience than exceptional taste. Tried some South Indian dishes — dosa and vada were average, and the sambar was on the sweeter side. Filter coffee was good though! Prices are slightly on the higher side compared to the taste and portions. You’re paying more for the brand and location than the food itself. Service is quick, but could be more attentive. Great for one-time visits or to show someone around Pune, but there are better options nearby if you’re looking purely for taste or value.🤌❤️

The National War Memorial Southern Command in Pune is a tribute to the fallen soldiers of India's post-independence era. The museum showcases various achievements of the Indian Army, featuring guns, models, rockets, tanks, and a MIG 23 Plane Prototype. Visitors can also explore historical references related to the brave defenders of the nation during times of war. Additionally, the museum delves into the history of Maratha Kings.
Unforgettable Experience – A Place Every Indian Must Visit Visiting the National War Memorial, Southern Command – Pune was one of the most heart-touching and proud moments I've experienced. This isn’t just a place with monuments — it’s a living tribute to the bravery, sacrifice, and spirit of the Indian Armed Forces. The layout is thoughtfully designed, and the exhibits — including real tanks, fighter jets, and war weapons — truly bring our military history to life. Each section tells a powerful story, and walking through the memorial feels like walking through the very soul of our nation. The Amar Jawan Jyoti, the names of martyrs, the visuals, and the detailed information about various battles moved me deeply. There’s a calm yet commanding atmosphere that fills you with a mix of respect, awe, and gratitude. I also bought some amazing souvenirs from their merchandise section — including an Army cap, a t-shirt, and a few other items. They are not just mementos but symbols of pride that I’ll cherish forever. It’s great to see that they offer these items so visitors can take a piece of this powerful experience home. I took plenty of photos too — from the war vehicles to the well-maintained garden areas and memorial plaques. But honestly, no camera can do justice to the emotion you feel when you're actually there. Whether you’re in Pune or just visiting, this place deserves a spot at the top of your list. Bring your kids, your family, or come alone — and you’ll walk away with a deep sense of respect for the heroes who protect our nation. Highly recommended. Jai Hind!

Dedicated to all Indian soldiers who have sacrificed their lives since the country's independence Each and Every Indian Must visit National War Memorial of any state. Detail of all the Wars with all Param Vir Chakra, Maha Vir Chakra and Vir Chakra holder statue and their sacrifice for the Nation beautifully explain. Since-Independence, more than 26,000 soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces have made the supreme sacrifice to defend the sovereignty and integrity of the country. A peaceful and patriotic spot dedicated to the brave soldiers of our country. The entry ticket is just Rs. 20 per person for civilians, and it's open till 8 PM. The place has a setup with historical displays, tanks, war-related equipment, and lots of information about the Indian Army. The scanners available at every point gives u all the information on your phone if you want to learn information after coming back home also. It’s both educational and inspiring. Perfect for families, students, and anyone who wants to know more about our armed forces. Highly recommended!

I recently visited this Museum and it was an incredibly moving and educational experience. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, blending historical artifacts, personal stories, and multimedia presentations to bring history to life. What stood out most was how the museum not only honors the sacrifices made by soldiers but also sheds light on the impact of war on civilians and society as a whole. Whether you’re a history buff or just someone wanting to understand the past better, this museum is a must-visit. It’s not just a collection of objects — it’s a place that invites reflection and remembrance.

Roopali Hotel is a popular spot in Pune, known for its South Indian cuisine and global fare. It's a spacious venue with both indoor and garden seating, making it an ideal place to enjoy breakfast or hang out with friends. The restaurant is famous for its delicious dosas, vadas, sambhar, and filter coffee. Many travelers visit Roopali to start their day with a hearty breakfast before heading out for sightseeing in Pune.
Roopali Hotel on FC Road is a fantastic place for a delicious and satisfying meal. The food here is truly impressive, with great taste and authentic flavors that make every dish enjoyable. Been coming here for years. Roopali’s onion uttapam is probably the best I have ever had, and it has consistently stayed the same thru the years! Amazing chilli cheese toast and cold coffee as well. Always come here when I am in Pune, and I highly recommend it! Gets crowded, so go early

Taste is good. You have to wait for some time to get the seat, but once you get the seat the taste of Roopali's food gives you a more pleasure. I tried podi dosa and chole bhature. Chole bhature was good and perfectly flavoured. Podi dosa was also good. I ordered coffee here, taste was good but not that much hot as I expected. Ambience is always good. Service is good.

Only downside is that you have to wait for your turn apart from that food service and cleanliness of the place is pretty good. I order the most famous SPDP and mysore masala dosa along with lemon soda. Everything tasted delicious along with the fizz of the soda. Puri Thali and Tea of this place is also famous as I observed the same on many tables. Food cost is also not high which makes people revisit this place very often.

Fergusson College Road, Pune offers an array of options to eat, new and old alike. The favourite for me is always Roopali! For the simple reason that there are no surprises…your food will have the same, delicious taste and the service will be quick. If you go around lunch time do try the Sumptuous Thali. Piping hot puris and tasty veggies are the highlights.Their set dosas are worth a mention. Pick any item on the menu and you’ll not be disappointed. To honour one of their long time customer, they have a special coffee, which is not on the menu, ask the service staff for it! my most favourite coffee…aromatic, earthy, strong.

Sujata Mastani in Sadashiv Peth is a legendary ice-cream destination known for its high-quality ice creams. The place offers a wide variety of flavors, with the locals swearing by their quality. The must-haves include Mango Ice Cream, Sitafal Mastani, Kesar Pista, Pista Mastani, Thick Shakes, Custard Apple and Thick Milkshake.
Tried the Mango Mastani at Sujata Mastani – and it definitely lived up to the hype! Rich, creamy, and full of authentic mango flavor, it was absolutely delicious. No wonder it’s one of the most famous items on their menu. A must-try if you’re in Pune and craving something refreshing and indulgent. Rating: 5/5

Just visited Sujata Mastani and it was a sweet surprise! I tried the special Mango Pista Dry Fruits Mastani – oh my, so yummy! The mango was rich and fresh, like summer in a glass. Pista added a lovely crunch, and dry fruits made it royal. It was thick, creamy, and full of flavor in every sip. The presentation was neat and tempting too. Each spoon made me smile a little more. Perfect treat for mango and ice cream lovers! Sujata never disappoints – always a joy to visit. Already dreaming of my next Mastani moment!

Heard a lot about this place, but for me, it felt a bit overhyped. Maybe it’s my Gujarati taste buds not syncing with Pune’s idea of “Mastani” – which basically felt like an overly sweet lassi. Tried the Mango Mastani – found it way too sweet and not something I’d try again. On the other hand, Pista Mastani got a thumbs up from others in my group. Prices are fair for the portion you get. One thing to keep in mind: they only accept cash, so plan accordingly.

European restaurant
Le Plaisir is a chic European bistro located on Prabhat Road in Pune, known for its monochrome interior and blackboard menus featuring a variety of European dishes. Established in 2012 by Siddharth Mahadik, a Le Cordon Bleu-trained chef, the bistro quickly gained popularity for bringing authentic French cuisine to the city. The café offers an elegant and sophisticated ambiance with subtle French influences.
I recently visited Le Plaisir Cafe, and it exceeded my expectations! The atmosphere and ambiance were fantastic, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy good food. Roasted Chicken-Absolutely delicious! The chicken was juicy, fresh, and full of flavor. A great choice for those who love roasted chicken. Half and Half Pizza-A unique offering that I was excited to try. The non-veg side (wood-fired chicken) was a hit, but the veg side (vegetable and feta) was a bit disappointing due to the overwhelming amount of onions and tomatoes. However, the pizza overall was tasty. The service was top-notch, adding to the overall positive experience.

Great place to dine with friends and family. The ambience of the place is excellent. The background music is pleasant and adds to the charm. The lights and decor are on point too. The service is prompt. The food is amazing - they have a unique variety of European dishes which are worth a try. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes were delicious. The desserts and beverages were amazing as well. Would definitely recommend!

The ambience is awesome. The staff is friendly, could be quick and they will be. The overall food experience was good. The price is premium but the quality and quantity of food is pretty good. The sandwich was a standout. Americano was just correct. The cappuccino was more milk less cream, this has to improve. The pasta was too tangy for my taste. Hence I preferred the pulled pork, which was ok, the bread got soggy, marks for the taste though. We Will be visiting again to try the pizza and burnt burgers. I Hope they fix the cappuccino by then. All the best.

Le Plasir is another one of those cafes that just gets everything right — from the food to the vibe. It’s a beautiful place, but be prepared for a bit of a wait because there’s always a crowd eager to taste the goodness here. That said, the wait is totally worth it. The moment you walk in, the atmosphere pulls you in — cozy, lively, and full of great energy. You can literally order almost anything from the menu and you’ll love it. We tried the Pink Sauce Spaghetti, the Three Cheese Garlic Crust Wood-Fired Pizza, and for dessert, the absolute star — the Espresso Panna Cotta. Every single dish was a 10/10. The spaghetti was perfectly creamy, the pizza had the right crunch and flavor, and that panna cotta — pure heaven. You just cannot miss it. Overall, Le Plasir is one of those places you keep going back to because everything — from the ambiance to the food — feels just right

I went with my friend. I had chicken lasagne, my friend had Lemon Butter Garlic Herbs Spaghetti pasta, and Potato Wedges. We also had dessert and drinks. The food was quite good to be honest, but it was not as great (or out of the world) as some other comments mention. The portion size did not really justify the price, because we have had better portion size, at more fancier restaurant at lesser price.

Le Plaisir in Pune is truly a gem for anyone who loves authentic and delicious European dishes. The dishes are prepared with great attention to detail, and every bite reflects freshness and quality. Their menu offers a wonderful balance of flavors, making it a perfect spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The ambience is warm and inviting, complemented by excellent service that enhances the overall experience.

If you're craving delicious, authentic North Indian food in Pune, Shahji's Parantha House on Laxmi Road is the perfect place! I recently visited and had an amazing experience that I must share. Food: The menu is packed with a variety of stuffed parathas, Amritsari naan, chaats, and thalis, all made with authentic flavors. I ordered the Chur Chur Amritsari Naan Thali, and it was absolutely fantastic! The naan was crispy on the outside, soft inside, and loaded with flavors. The thali came with Dal Makhani, Chole, Boondi Raita, and salad, all of which were perfectly spiced and complemented each other well. Another highlight was their Dahi Bhalla Papdi Chaat—it was fresh, flavorful, and had the right balance of sweetness and tanginess. If you love North Indian food, you must try their Lassi as well; it’s thick, creamy, and refreshing! Ambiance & Hygiene: The restaurant has a simple yet cozy ambiance, perfect for a casual dining experience. It’s a small place, so it can get crowded, especially during peak hours. However, the cleanliness and hygiene standards are well-maintained, and the staff ensures a comfortable experience for diners. Service: The service was quick and efficient, even though the place was busy. The staff is friendly, polite, and always ready to assist with recommendations. They serve the food fresh and hot, which adds to the overall experience. Location & Accessibility: Parking: Since the restaurant is located in a bustling market area, parking can be a challenge, especially for four-wheelers. I’d recommend using a two-wheeler or public transport if possible. Overall Experience: Delicious & authentic North Indian food Great variety of stuffed parathas & chaats Fast service & polite staff Good portion sizes at reasonable prices If you’re in Pune and looking for a place to enjoy wholesome and flavorful North Indian food, Shahji’s Parantha House is a must-visit! Highly recommended for paratha lovers, families, and foodies who want a taste of Punjab in Pune!

Had the best Parantha till date. Ordered Aaloo Banarasi Parantha- highly recommend and Dal Lasooni Paratha- for those who like subtle flavours. Even the side dishes they serve along are very tasty. The place has a down to earth, calm vibe, because they let their parantha do all the talking. But sometimes you might have to wait for a table.

One of the best places in Pune for paranthas! Shahji’s is a must-visit if you love authentic North Indian flavors. The focus here is all on the taste, not the ambience—it’s an old-school setup with simple seating, but the food speaks for itself. Their chur chur naan is a must-try—crispy, stuffed, and full of flavor. They also serve a variety of sabjis along with the paranthas, which are equally delicious and complement the meal perfectly. If you’re looking for a no-frills, pure taste experience, this is the place to go. Highly recommended for parantha lovers!

It really serves authentic Delhi/Panjabi food. Delicious Chole Well cooked Dal Makhani Crispy and layered parataas Overall it's worth trying. Though cost wise it's kind of costly. Parataas are above 250 Must try Chur Chur Thali Shahjis special Thali

This Paratha house is serving really tasty and authentic north Indian Tandoori Parathas, various chaats and sweets. I first ordered Dahi Bhalle Papdi Chaat which is their best and I really love it and always order it. Also, we ordered Chur Chur Naan Thali in which we got Dal Makhani, Boondi Raita, Kachumber salad, Chole and 2 Chur Chur Naans. The only problem is with their Naans which are not really Crispy as Chur Chur naan should have to be. They have a variety of Pickles placed on each table to enjoy with your meals like Mirchi, mixed pickles, green Chutney, etc. The taste was epic with all the flavours and lots of butter. I went to their other branch a year back, and that experience was really good. I highly recommend this Paratha house. Their service is also really fast and they take care of hygiene really well. Will definitely go to visit this place for other dishes as well.
