Privoz Market, also known as the "Supply Place" in Russian, is a historic market dating back to 1827 in Odessa. It offers a wide range of products including fresh produce, secondhand goods, and affordable clothing. Despite its historical significance during the Communist era for ensuring ample food supply, it continues to be a must-see due to its massive size and diverse offerings.

during the war there were fewer sellers, but it's still a magical place where you can buy anything from North Face knockoffs to good fish and rennet cheese. Those are strangely cheaper than in a super market. I recommend beef there on Saturday, fresh slaughter on site. cheap
Absolute heaven on earth for people looking for authentic and organic foods. The market is huge, crowded and hard to maneuver before you get accustomed. It is part of the charm. Here you will find all fruits, vegetables, berries, meets, fish, milk products etc that Ukraine has to offer. They also have product from neighboring countries like Georgia, Moldova and Turkey.
When I stumbled unexpectedly the first time I flipped a lid. This place is brimming with life, spices and buildings separate to each other for different markets.There is a building for dried meats,one for seafood with fish jumping waiting to be purchased, it's endless and you need a full day to just walk and look before you would even consider buying anything it's that overwhelming. I since found out that this market is famous throughout the whole Soviet Union.It is an absolute must.!!!

they are very organized and have separate areas for different type of products; beef, pork, lamb, chicken, dairy, cured goods, honey.

I was able to get some fresh from the cow milk here for 50 cents a liter, it was great.
Huge market. From food to clothing items can be purchased here. Most of the food items from various sellers were found to be fairly fresh with sometimes price differences for the same item depending on the seller. If you are not in a hurry you can save a bunch by taking time to look all over the market before making a purchase. Inside the market was fairly clean however, some of the streets surrounding the market were littered with refuse that definitely was an eye sore with attention quite needed. In all it was a decent market with different boutiques and restaurants in the surroundings.
Update July 30th, 2021:
As an update to my earlier review, a lot has changed in terms of surroundings and stalls added to this market. The changes are remarkable and actually beautify the market! The Tram tracks and stops had been replaced and now it's like night and day compared to what it was when I first wrote my review. Kudos!
An absolutely must see and must be in Odessa. This place is full of people - locals and tourists (you can chat with locals, since they are talkative). You can buy here absolutely everything - exotic fruit, spices, seafood, as well as local ones- fresh watermelons, grapes, tomatoes.
What is not nice about this place is the smell in the place where meat is.
And the worst thing is the fact that majority of stalls closes around 5PM, and there's information that it's working till 7PM.
Anything you need, you can find at this market for an affordable price. It's a confluence between different coulinaire cultures. From fresh first to brand new clothes, from different meat types to all types of cheeses.

A big local market in the heart of the city with chipset prices. Can be very crowded, traffic jam in the rush hours. Tricks, cheats and thieves are present.

The Monument to Ilf and Petrov, located in the City Park on Deribassovska Street, is a bronze sculpture commemorating the Soviet authors of 'The Twelve Chairs.' This beloved monument features a small chair placed on a marble pedestal, accompanied by a suitcase that belonged to Ostap Bender. It has become a favorite spot for both locals and visitors alike.

I can't believe it. I saw the Russian movie 12 Chairs. It was funny. Mel Brooks, Dom DeLuise in it. Now I stumble on a statue in City Garden Park of the chair Kisa Vorobyaninov (Ron Moody) and character Ostap Bender (Frank A. Langella Jr.) looked for.

The monument to the 12th Chair, dedicated to Ilf and Petrov, famous authors of the novel “Twelve Chairs”, is located in the center of Southern Palmira, in the City Park on Deribassovska Street.
The monument was opened on April 1, 1999. This monument is one of the favorite places of citizens and guests in the whole city. The monument is a little chair that is placed on the marble pedestal. Ear the chair there is a suitcase that belongs to Ostap Beder. On the back of the chair you can read the most famous expressions from the novel: “How much for opium for the people?”, “Kissia and Ossia were here”, “All the contraband is produced in Odessa on the Mala Arnautska Street” etc. There is also a phrase written on the pedestal “Citizens of Odessa – Ilf and Petrov”.
The chair is famous for the fact that visitors can sit on it and take beautiful pictures. One of the local citizens also thought of a great way to make profit: he is offering to take picture on the chair with the hat and the scarf.

This place is just majestic. Absolutely beautiful and astounding work of architecture. The surrounding location and water fountain are also magnificent. I saw Carmen and the tickets were extremely affordable for the masterful performance. This was my first Opera viewing and it was absolutely delightful. I felt very dapper for that evening. This is a must-see in Odessa and I urge you to see an opera while you visit, the acoustics and seating were phenomenal. I would do this again as a first-time goer to the Opera.
Spectacular architecture with very nice outside settings not far from the beach.
I visited it in October 2022, and finally, watched Opera Turandot in March 2025. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

My wife and I were there watching the opera Carmen. We had the pleasure of sitting in a box.
An incredible atmosphere, an architecturally very interesting building. In the breaks between the files you can have a good look at the inside of the opera and take photos.
The staff were very helpful in finding the right place.
Took a guided tour but unfortunately it was in Russian and not in English. However, I still enjoyed the tour because of the fascinating interior architecture designs of the theatre. Was built in the 1800s making it one of the oldest opera theatres in the world and it is the most famous landmark of Odessa that you definitely want to visit. The Swan Lake was being preformed in the theatre when I was in Odessa but unfortunately tickets were sold out!

Taras Shevchenko Park is a beautifully landscaped park in Odessa, featuring monuments to Taras Shevchenko and Alexander II, as well as sports facilities. The park is located between the historical center and the seafront, offering a huge area for leisurely strolls and relaxation. It also houses various attractions such as the ruins of the Turkish fortress, Church of St. Mary Magdalene, and a complex of underground excavations known as the Odessa Metro.
Good park, with its unique atmosphere.
You can still have a walk, in there and feel it's post glory and magnificence.
One of most underrated things in this park is Odessa observatory! You should definitely pay them a visit!

Great park for walking around. Several fountains, monuments and benches looking like open books make it a nice park to both chill and stroll. There are several stands selling drinks and snacks so you won't go hungry either.
The park is big, you can see the port, also you can take the cabin to the hill above. A little dangerous to ride the cabin, but the view is nice. A lot of flowers and cats. There are lots of benches, and street stores. Very nice!

It has the Chornomorets football stadium in the center, which is the main football team representing the city.
The park is neatly maintained and as clean as it can get. It even has several fountains around it, and pretty benches shaped like open books(which contains details about the famous ukranian writers) near the monument of Shevchenko.
There's also an open air theatre inside which is a must visit during summer days.

Very educational for children... and for adults it reminds you how science is an interesting part of ones common sense and knowledge...i enjoyed it very much.
I am really like this place but other time I'd like to visit it with my kids. It was spontaneous decision to visit something different than I can find in my city. One of the best scientific museums I have seen. Many different experiments physics, optics, mechanics, acustica and other interesting staff. Unfortunately no translation in english so find some locals for you to translate. Very good for kids and thous who in love with science.
I was there with my son of age 11. He said that it was his best experience in Odessa. And he has seen several science museums around the world. So the museum can be proud of such a high level of interactivity and novel approach to science teaching

Cozy hangout place with nice romantic European atmosphere. You can experience a glimpse of Lviv without being in Lviv. There is a whole array of chocolates in varying shapes and flavors along with drinks. I had a dark chocolate latte and it was great. A tad over sweetened but dark chocolates bitterness helped it to balance. You can also get a table service here by the way. English menu is available and the pricing is very reasonable as well. I would recommend the Lviv style cheesecake.

There isn’t any English talking personal. It is hard to communicate. Also it is harder to make an order cause they don’t care nor follow customers. Hot chocolate is made with powder and water. It was a big disappointment.

Nice park view. Food is good, but I've had much better in Odessa. Skip the meze platter. Tasty soups & caviar, though! 3 stars for food, an extra star for the park view. My favourite thing about this place was the vibe dining al fresco when musicians started playing in the park. Lovely experience of Odessa in summer.
We had a wonderful experience here. The meze set was nice and pork chops were excellent. My only recommendation for the is to stop serving the quinoa salad hot, the flavors just don't blend well.
We really enjoyed this restaurant: first of all it's very romantic (even with our 18 month old joining us), and the food was beyond tasty. The salads were amazing, the mussels and steak super tasty, and the Napoleon is a unique take on a dessert classic that is worth coming here on its own. We'll definitely return again if we come back to Odessa.

I liked this restaurant the best of all the ones we tried in Odessa on this trip. My American fiance tried borscht at 3 different restaurants in Odessa and said this was best... and I will admit that my own borscht is not as good as theirs :) Our server was a real pro, and when we were there there was a performer singing in French. The live music was perfect - not too loud and created a very pleasant atmosphere. They even had a great odorless bug spray that was truly odorless and worked. Food all around was good and presented beautifully. Thank you!
Very, very nice place to visit. The main dinning room is divided into several areas, which makes it nice to talk with friends. I take my Russian lessons there with a friend twice a week. One time I was there and wanted breakfast, scrambled eggs with mushrooms, peppers , onions and cheese, it was not on the menu, but they were happy to make it that way for me and was excellent! The outside glass covered terrace is awesome looking out into City Park. I really enjoyed the fire place they had going when I was there. Will be going there many times.

Not the cheapest place to eat but the service, location and atmosphere are great. You get to eat outside in Opera's garden if you wish. When it's hot, they create share and a breeze to make their outdoor seating wonderful. Also the serving of food is very pretty. You need at least 200 gvn per person.
Very good atmosphere, relaxed place, good salad, Kachapuri and the mussels with curry were delicious and perfect for our taste, but be aware a little bit spicy.

The Potemkin Stairs is a famous landmark in Odessa, known for its appearance in the silent film Battleship Potemkin. Built in the 19th century, this formal entrance to the city from the sea consists of 192 steps that create an illusion of greater length. One of the important places you must see in Odessa, don’t forget walking near forest, it is also near sea side, harbour, check around and take more pics, it is really suggested to visit. And there is a funicular train near stairs who doesn’t want to climb.
Newly remodeled stairs are great! The area surrounding the stairs is a new park with lots of benches and sites to see. Pleasant experience for sure. There is also a children's playground that's clean and new!
I love Potemkin Stairs day and night always busy always there is music or activities. Nice views one side you can see the sea other side nice city view. If you are in Central Odessa must go and see the stairs.
Definitely one of the must see places in Odessa! The sheer size of these monumental steps is amazing! And after the recent renovation they look even more beautiful. Also surrounded by new parks, right by the city center and also right by the Port. Perfect place to be!

Personally, I thought they will be bigger and most impressive. But anyway the way upstairs is tiring. Beautiful view at the harbor. The stairs- a bit messy. I recommand to take the picture of them from the other side- there's a platform in the harbor.
Very scenic. Also very helpful information centre here that speaks good English. Walk down the stairs and catch the Funicular back up.

Tioschin Bridge, also known as Mother-In-Law Bridge, is a pedestrian bridge in Odessa that offers stunning views and unique attractions. Couples often visit to clip symbolic padlocks onto a heart sculpture, adding to the romantic ambiance of the area. The bridge spans a ravine near the port and was once adorned with love locks until they had to be removed due to concerns about its structural integrity.

The striking place of this bridge makes it a must visit. If you are walking down the way to see the Collonade and the Palace, you will surely take this bridge to go ahead to Shah's Palace. People jump on this bridge to feel it vibrating. Also, there are a few locks on this bridge like various other bridges in Europe.

The Odesa Fine Arts Museum, housed in the elegant Potocki Palace since 1899, showcases an extensive collection of mainly Ukrainian and Russian artworks. The museum features paintings, graphics, sculptures, and decorative art pieces. Visitors can admire valuable iconography from the 16th-18th centuries as well as works by renowned artists such as Aivazovsky, Shishkin, Repin, Levitan, Vrubel and many others.
In the current situation, I understand why you can only see these works. But at least it is open, and I saw works of art and interesting things that made it worth going to the museum. I also thank the kindness of several employees there, who tried to tell me everything they knew, but the language barrier got in the way. But in the end, we made it!

Delightful and compact with a lot of pleasant surprises and really interesting local insights. We managed both floors in about 75 minutes. No queue or crowds. We missed the grotto, so make sure you're there before 13:00 if you would like to visit it
The museum is nice , entrance tickets are not expensive at all. The only thing I didn’t like was the lighting, I think they have to change to location of the lights. But overall definitely I’d recommend to visit.

Fantastic architecture although the living conditions behind the facade are very poor. Several students sharing one room. The shops are rather old fashioned in appearance. There are clothing shops for both men and women, souvenir shops, barber saloons, coffee shop. Its a nice place to visit.

Stunning performance. Incredibly well done. The trainers are acrobatic and the dolphins are just so smart! And man they can jump so ridiculously high! Like 3 body lengths high.
It is a must go attraction and really, my favourite place in Odessa.

Nice show, dolphins are well trained. The only bad thing is the lack of space for dolphins but they still have better living condition than most Ukrainians.
Wonderful experience, wonderful creatures and a lovely atmosphere. The show i enjoyed had appearances of fur seals, sea lions and a handful of dolphins. The trainers are exceptionally well prepared. The show had a wonderful theme and was very exciting. Only thing i did not enjoy was the fact that the show is largely spoken in Russian, even though there were enough foreign people present. If you love dolphins, don't miss out on this incredible experience.

They have an aquarium and dolphin show both with separate entry. The aquarium was only 100 so I entered it. It's pretty small with 1 small room for aquatic animals and another room for lizards, butterflies and insects. It was worth the 100 I think. Staff was friendly and it was something different to do in ukraine. Just keep in mind it's only 2 small rooms. For 100 they can let you hold some of the lizards or snake and have your picture taken with them which was pretty fun.
Animal cruelty in a "5" star hotel. Horrible. Things like that should be prohibited. Why is nobody doing anything against that? How can people visit that place to support such a cruelty on animals 4 dolphins in a mini pool, full with tourists. Government should act. I cannot understand how people can support that. This is inhuman.

This establishment is on track for a long lasting future. From the moment you walk in, you feel like you just travelled into another world. The service staff were extremely professional and made you feel like a real guest. Compliments to our server and especially the bartender for making me a pisco sour which was an off menu drink. It was awesome and tasted better than my own at home. The menu has a wide variety of options to choose from and does a great job of showcasing the level of skill the culinary team possesses. The Chef here is clearly skilled. The food was not only delicious but comforting. Thank you for an amazing experience.

I think this might have actually been the best food I’ve ever eaten.
Just wow. If you look for local produce kitchens, here is the one. Dinner was top at each dish. Make sure you check out QR code with daily supply menu, as there some great options there (see photos). The food is so good! The chef must be one of the best. The food is not only amazingly tasty and beautiful, but the flavours are combined in ways that are new but somehow feel like you’ve always loved them this way. It is like high cuisine and home cooked food at the same time. We were pleasantly surprised with the service, especially with our three noisy kids and the large stroller. We felt very welcome and the kids enjoyed their modified custom meals. The special of the week, the pike was just out of this world. The greens in the salads were all super fresh. The kids loved the freshly made lemonades. The Napoleon cake is very tender and soft with a perfectly moderated sweetness.

Good place! it was a rainy day so we went there because it was close to our appartment. Anyway food was good, original made and the environment was cozy, inside and outside. There was a simpatic black cat with us as well ;).
We ordered dishes we only saw in that place so because of that we enjoyed it. Service was very kind so is recommended to go and try by yourself!
weirdly expensive (in comparison with the normal cafes in Odesa) and kinda meaningless as a memorial of Gogol. It's more like an ordinary teahouse with nothing special but a cafe based on Gogol's house.
Delicious food, very lovely patio design, good portions and great overall value for money! Would definitely come back here when we are visiting Osessa next time.

Odessa is a great place to eat. But out of the 3 excellent restaurants we've gone to in Odessa, Gogol Mogol takes the palm: fresh, clean authentic tastes, very hearty dishes that all seems straight out from the books of different Grand-mas who would have shared their own special secret recipes to create the epitomy of Eastern cuisine.
Even better: our waitress Tatiana was just... Perfect. Kind and extremely effective, good recommendation in English and very patient with our kind, the touristy "what's this what's that" kind.

Lanzheron Beach is a vibrant spot that truly captures the essence of summer in Odessa. Located conveniently near Shevchenko Park and Nemo Club, it’s just a stone's throw from the city center, making it an ideal destination for both locals and tourists. While the beach can get quite crowded during peak summer days, especially with families enjoying their time off school, its lively atmosphere is part of its charm.
Super packed on any day of the week nowadays with it being summer and kids off school. Not many sandy areas to lay on but a completely convenient place having many cafes close by and various vendors walking around selling berries prawns drinks and sweets. Sea water temperature around 15 20 celcius :) refreshing ;) beer at just over 1 dollar a litre !!!

Good place to visit, it is the first beach near Shevchenko Park and Nemo Club. It is closest to the centre of Odessa.In summer it is overcrowded and the best time to visit it is winter, late autumn or the beginning of spring. Water is very clean then. So, if you can't imagine your life without sea side like I do, the place is worth seeing😉
This beach was the highlight of our trip. Lanzheron was clean, picturesque, easily accessible from the center of town and to restaurants and cafes. In the middle of September it was not crowded but the water was still warm enough to swim in. We spent hours here on Sunday and will return on Monday!
Public beach, with good location , close to the aqua park. There are some good food places around. Crowded at the summer, people are everywhere, and water is not such crystal.
This place is crowded and dirty. Trash is everywhere. In the sand, in the water, and anywhere else you could put trash.
It would take much to clean it up. The chairs were old. They were also kind of expensive. Parking was outrageous. It was more to park than it was to rent three chairs! The pads were old but weren't worn.
If you're a guy its worth the effort just to see the women there. If you're a woman, not worth the effort.

Pleasant touch of one day glory, nowadays building requires renovation.
Entry costs to the museum with the temporary excibition costs 100 uah.
Not big but nice museum with paintings of european painters. I haven't seen the art pieces of Scandinavian painters before, but here you can see them and they are beautiful!
But sadly, many of the museum's halls are in really bad condition. The museum is in great need of restoration.
Very cheap and beautiful pictures, the building is a wonderful palace. but no air condition and direct sun light on the pictures. The statues are mostly replicas.
The museum has an interesting collection and for sure worth visiting if you happen to be in Odessa but I think it is not the kind of museum you would make a trip to Odessa to visit it. The bulding of the museum is so old and I think renovations is much needed!
It's small but everything in there is 1500_1600 and there's some real gems and also not so great but authentic pieces.Its well worth the visit.
Good museum. A lot of pictures from 15 to 20 century (not replicas) from western europe, beautiful interior of 18 century. And I found cool snickers on the picture about ancient Egypt written in 1884
A couple of roads down from the Opera House, on Pushkins’ka Sreet is a compelling art museum in a noble sky-blue mansion from 1858. The museum was founded in 1923 and its art comes from a mix of private collections and pieces assembled by Odessa’s university.
The name is a little misleading, as apart from a some porcelain, weapons and pieces of furniture nearly all the art is from western Europe, mainly the Netherlands and Italy.
There are paintings by Caravaggio, Rubens, Francesco Guardi, Gerard David and Abraham Bloemart.
Maybe the standouts are the two “tronies” of the evangelists St Luke and St Matthew by the Dutch Baroque master Frans Hals

The first monument to Alexander Pushkin in Ukraine and the second in the Russian Empire was opened in Odessa on the Primorsky Boulevard in 1889 Zh.Polonskaya was a sculptor, and A. Vasiliev – an architect. The bust is made of bronze. Pedestal – granite. This monument is considered one of the best in portrait likeness.
Pushkin spent 13 months in 1823-1824in Odessa. He sang his poems in Odessa. The street on which he lived during some time was called the Italian (now Pushkinskaya). He died in 1837 in a duel.

This is worth a visit, despite being less decorated than many Orthodox churches and cathedrals. I have been many times and it's always interesting to see new decorations and improvements. This is not completed and probably several more years of work needed to complete all murals and so on.

It's just Magnificent! The architecture and the design inside the church is surely to witness. Shining gold in peaceful white background colour just keeps you gazing at the structure. Truly a peaceful and holy place.

Permission was granted to build this new cathedral on a on a small rise to accommodate the city’s Orthodox congregation that outgrew the Saviour-Ascension Church.
Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral is a revival of the Ukrainian Baroque style from the 18th century and has nine domes and a bell tower 50 metres in height.
This contains 22 bells cast in Novovolynsk, the heaviest weighing 1,200 kg.
If you can get in, there are icons of St George and Matrona Nikonova and four altars to admire.

We came to Odessa for a day and were looking for a place to stay on the beach to kill time before the train. We found sun loungers next to this restaurant, so we decided to stay. No regrets at all. The food, the service, the cocktails and the atmosphere were amazing. I had an avocado salmon toast, which was good enough, but the cheese sauce saved it. My son had chicken sausage, which he liked a lot. For dinner we had very tasty pork shashlik and beef medallions with roasted vegetables. Exceptionally good and the sauces in this place are fantastic. Highly recommend Pina Colada👌 the only thing I found the prices for drinks are a bit expensive.
I totally LOVEDA this place! It never closes and it is right by the beach. You can have dinner or drinks and go right to take a swim and come back just to find the waiter have a nice blanket ready for you to warm up and keep eating or drinking 😊. Will def come back!

Took almost 1 hour to get the food. The food itself was ok, a bit tasteless. But the bill was sick. And their menu is so confusing. Definitely one of the most expensive restaurants in Odessa. And with that said the food should at least be better than this. I live in on of the most expensive countries in the world. And for the same price there I could get a super fancy dinner. The limit was reached when they asked us if we wanted to pay the tipping in cash or card. At least they could give us a bread or something while waiting for the food - or say sorry for waiting. I tip if the service is great. Not if I'm forced.
We had a post wedding party for eighteen guests. The meal and service were at the highest level. We liked traditional dishes with modern twist to please our foreign and local guests. We were delighted to see that their expectations were met. Special thanks to Larisa, Katerina, Alexander and Alina for making our celebration special and memorable!

They have special offer everyday, ordered veg pita from that but the waiter assumed that we don't speak Russian and didn't gave the discount.. however on requesting another cheque and asking about it, he soon realized that we are familiar with their techniques. Nice place for breakfast, good and fresh assortment, and menu flexibility, but we faced not pleasant staff who reacted to our claim quite arrogantly. Last our visit (on Fri evening), the waiter showed the box where we can get paper and pencils for drawing by ourselves; this time we came again and took pencils again by ourselves, but got an aggressive reaction from the staff without any explanations.
The administration managed the case effectively, but the morning vibe was spoiled.

A fantastic place for breakfast (and more). The food is very tasty, well-served and the portions are relatively big. Very good value fo money. The sofas and chairs are comfortable, the desing is niceand cosy - you want to stay there a little bit more. Service is excellent
Place with a nice idea, cozy design and tasty food. Unfortunately my eggs in Odessa breakfast were pretty cold and a bread which they served instead a pita bread (they ran out of it) with shakshuka wasn’t a ciabatta as they called it. Despite this moments I can recommend this place and it’s worth to try if you are in Odessa.
Very pleasant place for breakfast. You can choose typical breakfast from different countries - USA, Germany Azerbaijan and lot more. There is very nice and helpful service and reasonable prices. Good coffee and tee.
Big various tasty breakfasts. If you like eggs - it’s definitely a place to start your day. Not so many options for vegans.
Had a really lovely time with my partner here. Both French (croque madame) and American (chicken bagel with fries) breakfast were delicious. Service was nice as well. Average to high prices (actually lower than in a similar place in Kiev). If you're looking for a 24/7 breakfast place that isn't your home this is the place for you.
