Restaurant
The Bavarian Restaurant is a charming alpine-themed inn located at the bottom of lift four, offering three suites and a dining room serving authentic German cuisine and beer. The restaurant exudes Bavarian hospitality with its wait staff dressed in traditional attire, creating an atmosphere of pure Gemutlichkeit. Guests can enjoy the warm ambience accentuated by wooden beams and a Bavarian tile stove while dining on German specialties. Additionally, the sunny deck equipped with warming lamps allows for outdoor dining in most weather conditions.
What an awesome place and at a perfect location at the bottom of lift 4! Whether winter or summer, no matter what activity stirs up an appetite, it’s easy to come straight here and get a decent meal! Better yet, by the time we ordered to when we got our food, it was maybe 15 minutes? Even if you do have to wait, there is a large drink selection of local ciders and beers, as well as non alcoholic drinks. The menu has something for everyone, and the dessert menu has variety, too! Our food was delicious, and there was a thing that tasted off or poor to us. The portions are large and the appetizers especially could do well for a family if you wanted to try a few different things! Everything was so flavorful and delicious, and the view wasn’t half bad, either!! The winter time I’m sure is beautiful, and I can only imagine how amazing that time is after a ski with some hot chocolate or cider. We will definitely be back!!

The Bavarian Restaurant in Taos is a must-visit for a delicious mountain-side meal. I arrived at 11:30 AM and only had a short wait with 3-4 people ahead of me, but by noon, the line had grown to about 25 people—so get there early! I ordered the Wiener Schnitzel sampler, which was the perfect hearty snack after a morning on the slopes. The food was excellent, the service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch or après-ski, this spot delivers on all fronts.
Carli B — Google review
You order at the bar and they bring you your food, so really no service, but the food was quick. You drive up a 2 mi gravel road for the atmosphere and the Bavarian food. The sausage/bratwursts and the sauerkraut, mustard, and German potato salad are top notch. The apple strudel is just like my German grandmother would have made. Great choices of German beer. The weather and scenery are also worth the trip. I went in Aug. 86F in Taos, 74F at the restaurant.
Rob L — Google review
Great little restaurant with the Barvarian theme...I had sampler of sausage over curry fries which was quite delicious.... I also had the Trout 🥗 but it was pretty plain Jane!!!!
Adolf R — Google review
Bless their hearts!!! The make the food the best way they can. We had the vegan bratwursts and the side of cabbage, the squash soups and the side of fries. I wish I could say I like any of it. But I didn’t. It is not the restaurants fault. I just did not Like the food at all. Beautiful setting!!! Phenomenal waitstaff!!!! Wonderful cold water to drink and free.
Lori N — Google review
I felt like I stepped into a scene from Virgin River. After a long day of hiking, this hit the spot. Good food with local cider was the perfect way to wind the day down. Outdoor seating with an outdoor bar allows you to really enjoy being in Taos. We are already talking about another trip back!
Bailey E — Google review
A surprisingly delicious food. Everything I tasted was amazing! Service was great, you order at the counter and they will bring it out to you (at least during summer months) Price point was great considering the location! Owner was so helpful and sweet! We came back daily during our Taos visit.
Elle B — Google review
What a fabulous place to eat and enjoy the views! The German Sausage Sampler was fantastic with three types of sausage, 2 types of mustards, German potato salad, sauerkraut, and red cabbage! The server was great; she was very nice and helpful. The weather was trying to decide if it would rain, and the cashier assured us we could move inside if it did. I'd highly recommend - if only for the views. But, you add in great food, a relaxed atmosphere, pleasant people, and you've got a winner!

Whether you're looking for a quick caffeine fix or a hearty breakfast, Black Diamond Espresso has you covered with their two convenient locations at the base and on the mountain. Additionally, they provide dairy-free milk options for your hot beverages.
What a wonderful surprise after running my bike up from Taos! The breakfast burrito was yummy. I asked for an Arnold Palmer and the barista made it no problem even though it wasn’t on the menu.
Amy K — Google review
Beautiful spot for a coffee shop, and compared to coffee shops in other “ski-towns” (where usually a lattee has a huge up-charge), the prices here are median and not shocking. They give dog treats and are very friendly, and make a very nice macchiato (traditional macchiato, not “Starbucks macchiato”) as well!
Taylor F — Google review
Perfect stop for your morning coffee. The ppl that work there are so friendly too. You can bring your own reusable cup if you like. I will be back every day of my trip
Katie P — Google review
Perfectly located by lift 1. Always going here for an espresso. Thank you Taos!
Nick K — Google review
Great little Pagoda type Coffee shop. Super friendly barista. The coffee and espresso menu was dot on for a late November weather with temps in single digits. The Mexicana Mocha was awesome.
Rahul P — Google review
Best coffee in Taos ski area! Highly recommend their mocha with orange zest. Their hours are not too reliable though with the worker shortage. So show up early for coffee!
Pim K — Google review
this place is awesome and and institution. as old Taos crumbles aways it nice to have some consistently coffee and good OG familiar faces. this is NOT starbucks!! it 1000 times better!
Gerhardt A — Google review
The perfect stop after you drop your kids off at ski school and before the lifts open. Expect a line during the peak time I just mentioned. My small (8 oz) Americano was made with TWO shots for $2.75, which is just the sort of pick-me-up you need when your kids wake up earlier than you'd like during vacation. My wife was a fan of the specialty drinks, especially the Mexicana.

Eis Haus & Ice Rink

Ice skating rink
Eis Haus & Ice Rink is a delightful winter destination nestled in the lower plaza of Taos Ski Valley, where visitors can enjoy ice skating daily during the colder months. The rink at the Taos Youth and Family Center also provides skate rentals, making it accessible for everyone to join in on the fun. During my visit, I was warmly welcomed by a friendly staff member with a red beard and shaved head—his hospitality truly made me feel at home as a first-time visitor.
The guy with the red beard and shaved head (I think his name is James) was super friendly, making me feel welcome to the area for my first visit to Taos Ski Valley!
Ben S — Google review
Once again, Taos ski valley ALMOST does something in the base right. I've said for years that they need to provide more activities for people to do at the base so that folks who aren't skiing/snowboarding have something to do other than sit in restaurants or their room. The ice rink is a great idea, even if it is a bit small, but almost always completely empty because it costs TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS to go skating (don't worry though, it's only $20 for children and seniors)... Good job *eyeroll*. Make your money on the expensive lift tickets and lodging and let people have some fun at the base for once.
Brendan H — Google review
The rink is $25!! But we never get to ice skate, so we paid it. However once on the ice it was so rough we couldn't skate. After one time around the rink I asked for our money back and they refused to give it. The guy was super rude. Don't throw away your time or your money on this place.
Sarah — Google review
Unlike other ski resorts this rink is not free. Not worth the $25 to skate (even with your own gear)

Visitors have praised the store's diverse selection and helpful staff even during off-peak seasons. Customers have also appreciated the efficient rental process for high-quality skis and other equipment.
Super helpful staff! Wanted to test drive the Burton Step On's and they were the only ones in the TSV and in Taos village proper that had them. They even set them up on our board! Great price too! Had a friend rent skis and boots and helmet there. They were awesome in helping him get set up.

Came here to browse while visiting, but the selection was great and had to go home with a few shirts and some bike gear. Staff was engaged despite it being their slow season. The Taos Ski Valley overall is top notch.

Condominium complex
Ski resort
Snakedance Condominiums is the perfect blend of homey comfort and charming old-world ambiance, making it an ideal retreat for couples, families, or small groups. With its inviting rooms adorned in bright and eclectic decor, guests can unwind after a day of adventure in this stunning mountain locale. Located conveniently at the base of the mountain, Snakedance offers easy access to skiing with a dedicated ski room for gear storage just steps away from the lifts.
I had only been to the Snakedance for skiing before this fall when I got married here. It was so unbelievably beautiful and everyone was so amazing, I would recommend it to anyone. The large rooms with full kitchens and fireplaces are some of the best I have ever stayed in. There is so much to do from hiking, to hot air ballooning, to rafting in the summer. I will likely still aim more for the am I season, but I will definitely make more summer and fall trips to this magical place.
Amanda L — Google review
Stayed here for a week of skiing and it doesn't get more convenient than this. The condos are at the base of the mountain, have a ski room that you can pick-up and drop off your skiis, boots and poles everyday. Has a mini grocery store so don't worry if you forgot anything. The condo also has a restaurant, but I did not eat their, so can't comment on the food. The rooms are fine and have full kitchens. The staff is super polite and helpful. I would absolutely stay here again.
Michael R — Google review
Best location, right next to the lifts! Nice condos. Lots of space in Condos. Nice amenities. Great price for a ski in Condo
Blake J — Google review
This was an awesome weekend of camping. Snakedance upgraded my accommodations at no extra cost and I made it to the top of wheeler peak ♥️🧡💛
Tyson M — Google review
It’s ok. For the price, a decent mattress would be nice. Furniture needs updating/ cleaning. Kitchen was well stocked if intended on cooking most meals. No one at the front desk in the mornings is strange. Glad we did a lot of research before we came. Location is very close and was the best feature for new skiing families like us.
Mike M — Google review
The essential accommodations when spending any amount of time in the Taos ski Valley. Grab your skis from the guest storage, walk out the door and get on the lift that's about 17 feet away. The bar in the St. Bernard 20 steps up the hill is always a blast. It's just the perfect location to ski an amazing mountain.

My wife and I own a hotel, and we are very picky when it comes to the cleanliness of places we stay on our own vacations. Snakedance was perfect. The room was spotless, the location was beautiful, and we had everything we needed and then some. If I'm ever in Taos again, I know where I'll stay.

This woman-owned establishment takes pride in its locally sourced ingredients, including botanicals and water from the stunning Sangre de Cristo mountains. Whether you're unwinding after a day on the slopes or simply enjoying time with friends, the cozy lounge and inviting outdoor fire pit provide an ideal setting to savor craft cocktails that reflect the local landscape.
Amazing experience!!! Cute ambiance, delicious drinks and great company! We basically sampled the entire drink menu and can't wait to come back and do it again! Blake is a fantastic bartender who made us feel right at home! You can't go wrong with any of the cocktails. Every single one was amazing! Thanks so much!!!
Nicole B — Google review
Tasted through a flight of their vodkas and Ponderosa Pecan Reserve Whiskey. Enjoyed the green chile vodka the most, but I thought the plain vodka quite exceptional as a base liquor. The Ponderosa Whiskey felt a touch too sweet for me, but would be good mixed in a lot of cocktails. My sister had a virgin hot chocolate - what a marshmallow!

Convenience store
Nestled in the heart of Taos Ski Valley, Cid’s Mountain Market is a charming sister store to the well-known Cid’s Food Store and The Cellar. This delightful market has been serving the community since 1986, offering an impressive array of fresh and organic foods alongside convenient grab-and-go meals.
Perfect spot for quick meal or snacks or wines if your visiting taos ski valley. My fiance and I were staying at Blakes and went here 3 times during our visit. First for some Philly cheese steaks in between our ski runs. We went back later in the afternoon to grab some snacks and drinks. They do close at 6:00 p.m. so just keep that in mind! They have a great variety of healthy drinks, juices, protein shakes, wine, healthy snacks, cold and hot meals to go.

Love this place, nice and clean and friendly. Just wanted to let the owners know, please update your hours on Google. We drove up from Taos, because your listing said you were open. You’re not. Thank you!
Sean T — Google review
[UPDATE] Our original bad experience and 1* review is below. However, we’ve updated our review based on management’s response. We traveled miles down into Taos proper and ended up speaking with the owner at the main store there. She was incredibly kind and friendly. Mistakes happen but if someone genuinely wants to make it right, then they deserve a good review, not a bad one. Thank you to CIDs for caring to make it right and we ended up going to their store next door called the Cellar and spending $90 there because of our conversation with her. Nice recovery CIDs - we appreciate you! [original review] We stayed in Taos for a week, stopping by this market several times and spending money there. However, today my wife purchased a small bag of granola from a brand she’s purchased before. However when she opened and tasted it she realized that it had sunflower seeds which she’s allergic to. We had literally just walked out of the store and when we mentioned the problem to the clerk and asked if she could exchange it, she said no because it had been opened. While that might be a technicality, they had an opportunity to express sympathy for the medical complication and do a minor act that would have resulted in a fantastic experience vs a very bad one. It would also have led to additional sales. Now, we will not be buying anything else from them…over a bag of granola. Great job CIDs Mountain Market.

The best food in TSV for a quick lunch. Nice grocery items for charcuterie boards, prices are on par with most mtn stores
Justin B — Google review
I’ve been up here for most the winter. At times I walk to Cids Market for a coffee and to work a bit. I shop here, buy snacks/coffee while I work. Some employees are great. They have a WiFi broadcasting an SSID. I’ve used it before with no issue. Until today, the less than pleasant employee simply stated “we don’t have wifi”. I said yes you do, I’ve used it and I see the network.. to which the reply was “not for the public”. Ok.. I’ll spend $ elsewhere. You have cafe tables, sell coffee, quick meals. Seems like WiFi would align with the space and offering.

192 at The Blake is a modern New Mexican restaurant located in Taos Ski Valley. Attached to the newest hotel in town, it features museum-quality artwork including pieces by Georgia O'Keeffe and the Taos Society of Artists. The stylish eatery offers dishes like boar rib chop with green-chile polenta and apricot-poblano chutney, as well as poutine made with green chile and pork belly.
We ate here twice on our recent visit to Taos (Feb 2025). The food, drinks, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional! The Sunshine Daydream Pizza, the burger, and the Hummus were all excellent. Will definitely go back!

Stopped at the bar for a beer and a snack. Great hotel. Wonderful staff. Looking forward to coming back. Photos from lobby and hotel bar/restaurant are great.

Lovely location, on the mountain. Cocktails were excellent and the service was so friendly and personable. We had pizza, which was relatively good. Overall, the experience was great, not entirely sure why the restaurant has a 3.9 star rating at the time of writing this. We did visit in the off-season, however, which might make a difference.
Aditya K — Google review
This hotel restaurant is attempting to find its identity and is a hot & cold with its overall performance. We ate there two times during our last trip to Taos Ski Valley. The first time, we had a good experience with good service and food. The rosemary fries and margarita pizza are good. The second time, we were treated like an annoyance because we asked for the kids pasta that is on the menu. I guess the chef did not want to make pasta that day for kiddos. It is one of the nicer and certainly the most expensive restaurant on the mountain.
Hunter — Google review
Though the food and atmosphere are good and the staff is great, attentive and friendly, the value proposition for what the food or the place is just isn't there. I get the whole "upscale" attitude in a ski valley and the food is well done, it is just not that special to justify that mark-up.
Alex K — Google review
One of the best food options at the Taos Ski Valley base. We had great service and delicious food. The place had the perfect ski-lodge feel, without seeming contrived. Overall, a great experience. Would very happy to dine here again.
Joel K — Google review
Great place to wait for traffic to die down after skiing. Amanda was a great server. The food was good...very nice presentation and flavor was decent. To be honest some of the food looked better than it tasted. We had charred brussel sprouts, which was a bit too charred and bitter for us, carrot and ginger soup, sea scallops and ribeye. They initially overcooked our steak and didn’t hesitate to cook us a different one. They even comped us dessert which really shows that customer satisfaction was top notch.
Annie — Google review
Had the breakfast buffet at 192 within the Blake. It's summer time so the restaurant is only open a few hours in the morning but the buffet was great and all of the food was fresh. The restaurant is beautifully done by the way, I'm sure this place gets packed during ski season, it's definitely the highest end resturant within Taos Village.

The property features one and two-bedroom suites named after Ernie Blake, the founder of Taos Ski Valley.
We really enjoyed our stay here. Mike, Kevin, and Linda Lee were delightful people who took excellent care of us. The ski valet was a great service—super convenient and as close as you can get to the lift so you don’t have to carry skis far. We never had to wait more than 15 seconds for valet service or ski valet service. The room was very nice, very clean, and had a great shower. Really nothing to dislike—we will be back.

I’m mostly leaving a review about the spa. Do not go. I have been coming here yearly, it’s great because it is near the slopes and they allow dogs. The service is really good, people are very friendly here…with exception of the spa. I had booked a 90 facial yesterday, and the esthetician ended 8 minutes early…no biggie. I decided to overlook it. However today I had a massage booked and they called me 10 minutes prior to cancel. I had come in early from skiing because of the appointment. If I canceled last minute, I would be charged.

Our family recently stayed at the Blake for the first time and were extremely impressed. The property is beautiful! Staying steps away form the primary lift is a luxury, but not as luxurious as the rooms. Ample space, especially for winter activites and the pool/spa/exercise facility is so nice. Truly had an amazing family stay and can't wait to return. Thank You!

Very disappointing.. we walked into the bar at 5:15pm on September 5. I give the date and time because if I was the owner I would want to know how bad my staff was and who was working at that time. The bartender promptly seated us. We waited about 10 minutes as several wait staff milled about doing nothing because the place only had a few guests. Finally a dirty blonde female wait staff came up to us to tell the Josh would be our server. We waited 15 more minutes as she passed us several times and it was obvious that we hadn’t been waited on but made no attempt to serve us. Finally we got up and left. Walked by the bartender who said nothing to us and went and had fabulous drinks at the Rolling Still Lounge for half the price. We highly recommend the Rolling Still. Unfortunately, we won’t be hack at the Blake.

Had an amazing stay here, clean rooms, walls and floors are solid and can’t hear anyone in halls or above you, very well built. The pool was always clean and taken care of, clean gym and the gift shop was awesome! The location is amazing! A dream in my opinion. Will return in the winter to ski.

It's always a good time at The Blake. It's a lesser known gem. Usually go to Breckinridge with the boys but several years ago took them to Taos at a recommendation of a buddy. Been coming back every season since then. Everything is walkable and not a terrible drive from the PHX valley.
