Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is a music and arts complex located at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival. Managed by a non-profit organization, it encompasses an amphitheater, a museum, and the preserved Bindy Bazaar Trails that once served as a bustling marketplace during the festival. The center hosts various events including concerts, family programs, and food festivals against the backdrop of stunning scenery.
Our first show at Bethel Woods and all I can say is WOW!! This is a FABULOUS venue!! It feels more like a festival than a concert! Beautiful park like grounds. Excellent parking. The friendliest staff ever. And the cleanest bathrooms I've even seen at a concert venue!! A+
Michelle F — Google review
Bethel Woods is truly a stunning and historic concert venue, nestled in a scenic setting that brings a special energy to any show. The sound quality was excellent, and the staff inside the venue seemed well-trained and efficient, especially when it came to accommodating guests with mobility challenges. We were impressed by how seamlessly they rearranged seating to make space for wheelchairs — it felt like a well-oiled machine in that regard. However, there are a few things to be aware of before planning your visit. The venue requires a considerable amount of walking from the parking areas to the entrance, which may be difficult for guests with limited mobility or for families with young children. We parked in a field and had to navigate through two separate parking lots, which was manageable but not clearly directed. Unfortunately, we also witnessed a vehicle stuck in a hole in the field, highlighting the need for better maintenance and more active guidance from parking staff. Our seats were in Section 10, Row B — great views, but our experience was marred by an unfortunate incident. Someone in the row ahead of us vomited, which splashed onto us and our 7-year-old. Rather than removing the disruptive group, staff relocated them to better seats up front. It was incredibly frustrating to deal with the smell of alcohol and the mess with a child in tow, and we felt this situation was mishandled. Overall, Bethel Woods has a lot of potential and charm, and for healthy, mobile adults and kids who don’t mind a long walk, it’s a beautiful place to enjoy live music. With a few improvements in parking management and guest response protocol, it could offer a top-tier concert experience.

Love it here! The location is historic, the venue perfect, and the employees are so nice. Very family friendly - my now 5 year old has been coming here since he was a baby and loves the lawn. They also host kids concerts & fun festivals. Great variety of concerts all year round and excellent beer selection.

The Woodstock Bethel Center for the Arts is truly a gem! The moment you arrive, you're struck by the beauty of the grounds—peaceful, scenic, and thoughtfully maintained. The venue itself blends history, art, and nature in the most inspiring way. Whether you're attending a concert at the Pavilion, exploring the museum, or just soaking in the rich legacy of Woodstock, the entire experience feels magical. The staff is welcoming and professional, and everything is organized with care and attention to detail. The sound quality at the performances is outstanding, and the atmosphere is both relaxed and electric—a rare combination that makes every event feel special. It's not just a venue; it's a destination filled with culture, soul, and a deep sense of place. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area or looking to experience the arts in a truly iconic setting
Meir B — Google review
One of the best organized museums I have ever visited. Taking you through the decade before Woodstock, the back story of the music, the planning, and enveloping you in the whole experience. So much inside information and the guides were very knowledgeable and loved to share stories!
Lynn P — Google review
Great venue! They definitely know what they're doing. Parking was a breeze, signage was easy to follow to the venue and the scenery was fantastic for a venue of this size. Staff was helpful and the food/drink options were plentiful. Reserve lawn chairs ahead of time I saved at least 10 minutes waiting in line. Lawn is spacious with great views of the stage. Acoustics are great. Clean bathrooms too! Overall a great experience at a no nonsense/well run venue
Daniel — Google review
Everyone here was very nice, the event was well organized, and I felt very safe. It didn't even take that long to exit the parking at the end of the show. The museum was also really nice, with paid and free exhibits. Pays to arrive early, but they move you through security quickly and ticketing is all electronic. Beautiful setting...I would definitely come see a show here again.
Maggie D — Google review
I’ve been going to concerts at Bethel Woods for a few years, the staff is very accommodating, polite and professional. Bathrooms are maintained nicely and there are multiple locations, if you see a line move on to the next location and you’ll be in and out. Prices for the concert souvenirs is about the same wherever you go,and they have decent food and nice selection of beverages with and without alcohol. Worth the visit. No pets allowed.

Museum
The Historic Site of the 1969 Woodstock Festival is a place of pilgrimage for music lovers and history enthusiasts alike. This National Register Historic Site witnessed an iconic event that drew nearly half a million people for three days of peace, love, and music. The festival's legendary lineup included renowned artists like Janis Joplin, the Grateful Dead, Santana, and The Who.
We didn't even realize we were so close to this until a waitress told us, and we are SO HAPPY she did. We had such a great time exploring the museum. There is so much to read, videos to watch, and memorabilia. The history of this even is unreal to imagine how many people attended and this was before social media, cell phones, and great roads. Definitely a great stop on your vacation.

You can still feel the love at the monument! Even meeting total strangers! Kevin, thanks for the henna!

The ride out around the area was beautiful. I only had a couple hours to spend in the museum but could have easily used four hours. Lots to see and read. I'll be back!

There’s a cool museum nearby (two minute drive) but even just stopping to see the monument is cool. Not much to see so it only takes a few minutes to take it in.

Small but meaningful landmark marking where the Woodstock Festival was first planned in 1969. The plaque itself is simple, yet it carries huge cultural weight—a reminder of the movement that defined a generation before it all shifted to Bethel.

Woodstock Oasis is a charming little store not far from the Woodstock Museum. The owner, known for his great cooking, offers delicious food including pizza, sandwiches, and fresh hoagie rolls. Visitors can also find unique items in the store. While they mainly sell pizza on weekends, their deli menu offers a variety of options such as burgers and cheesesteaks. The food is consistently good and customizable to suit individual preferences.
Awesome fine on our road trip to Woodstock. Owner is a great guy and does all the cooking. Prices are awesome and food is delicious. Great pizza and sandwiches. Hoagie rolls are super fresh too. You can find some cute unique things in this little store too. This is a perfect place to stop and get a bite to eat before or after you check out Woodstock Museum which was an awesome place too. So much great history here and grateful we found this little gem of a place.

It was my first time ordering from there and it may be my last. I ordered some products on their website. When I got there the man told me the price was wrong. A couple of items were $20 (70%) more than their website stated. It took over 25 minutes and several phone calls for him to be able to work the cash register to ring the correct price up. I had planned to spend a certain amount and ordering online in advance should’ve cut down on the wait time. I was their only customer. Plus he seemed annoyed that I brought my dog in to the shop. He said I could tie him up outside. Yeah right. Between the long wait, being charged more at the store the man made no attempt to compensate me for the inconvenience. It was false advertising on their website I was hoping he’d cut me a little slack but he did not. Between the long wait, being charged 70% above their website price and the cold nonchalant attitude, I guess they don’t care whether the customers return or not. He didn’t even offer me a free lighter!

Stopped by this hidden gem last week. I Knew what I wanted when I walked in so it was a very fast visit, no wait. Homey feel, assisted by a nice gentleman. Offers flower, vapes, and more. Reasonably priced. Will definitely return!

Great experience here with the owner before a concert at Bethel Woods. My friend stopped in afterwards and also found everything he needed at a great price. Thanks Mark! See ya at the next concert!

My mom and i stopped here before our alanis Morissette concert, the service was AMAZING and the owner is so sweet, patient ,and caring. I got the Philly cheese steak with onion, and my mom got the mozzarella sticks (only like 20 bucks for both of our food and drinks!), personally that was the best Philly cheese steak I've ever had, it was so flavorful and hit the spot perfectly. The store is so cute and is very well decorated. If I'm ever in bethel again, I'll definitely be returning here. Thank you so much.

Tiny country store not far from the site of Woodstock, selling everything from deli to fresh burgers to T-shirts. It's billed as a pizzeria here, but as of September 15, 2023 only sells pizza on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We thoroughly enjoyed the cheesesteaks we got, which we ate on one of picnic tables out front.

Nestled in a charming setting with outdoor seating and artistic sculptures, Dancing Cat Saloon offers a delightful experience. This spot serves delectable New American cuisine and hosts occasional live music, adding to its allure. The owners, Jessica and Ian, are praised for their warm hospitality and attentiveness to special requests such as vegetarian options. Visitors rave about the perfectly seasoned dishes like Red Snapper and Rib Eye that are cooked to perfection.
We had our rehearsal dinner at the Dancing Cat Saloon and they exceeded our expectations in every way possible. Jessica and Ian, the owners of the Saloon, were absolutely wonderful. From the moment I reached out about having a dinner at the Saloon, I received an immediate response which was warm and eager to help us throw the best dinner for our family and friends. They also were quick to accommodate our request for a vegetarian dinner, and gave us a sample menu within a day. We booked with them right away as we could tell they were going to be lovely to work with. Well, it couldn't have been a better decision. Jessica and Ian were in constant contact with us, they even arranged for flowers for the night of the dinner with our wedding color theme (the flowers were beautiful) and made sure to play music we loved. We didn't have to think twice about decorating which was a relief with the wedding planning. The Saloon itself has so much charm, our guests were in love! The night of the actual rehearsal, everything went smoothly and perfectly. We felt at home at the Dancing Cat Saloon. Oh, and the food, it was incredible!! Every dish was perfect and our guests ate it all up. The night of our dinner, they even posted a sweet message on their website about our wedding. Honestly, you just don't come by this kind of service. It was A++++ We feel so lucky that in years to come we can come back and support Jessica and Ian at the Dancing Cat Saloon and relive our incredible rehearsal dinner.

The food was pretty good and the service friendly but it took nearly 45 minutes to get our food. We ordered a salad and 2 of their toasts. A couple other parties who arrived after us received their food long before we did.

Serendipity... stumbled on this place while on vacation and loved it, my wife had the Red Snapper and I had the Rib Eye, both were seasoned and cooked to perfection. Definitely one of the stars of the area. P.S. 2 years later... almost to the day... we're back... we liked it so much this time we brought 30 clients... Loved it again, food was delicious and everyone did an awesome job.

Wonderful visit to one of the most sacred grounds for american music. The museum is very detailed. Plan on a couple of hours to go through. Many, many artifacts from the event. Well worth the 8 hr drive for me.

This place is fabulous. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and really care about sharing this experience positively. The museum is stacked with history, short documentaries, and listening stations. Great visit, anytime. We happened to be going to a concert there and really made the most of our time in Bethel.

My wife and I grew up in the Woodstock generation. We weren't in the crowd of over 450,000 hippies but in the movies and music that came from those historic 3 days, we finally got there to see hallowed grounds and a great museum. Go there and understand the times and the music that brought so many people together in peace. Special thanks to Duke Devlin.
J K — Google review
A gem of a stop. Step back in history, and learn about iconic Woodstock. The exhibits are well planned and capture the magnitude of cultural impact this music festival had. We were in a time crunch, so we had to rush through. I would plan and give yourself at least two hours to fully enjoy. Price for entry very reasonable.

This was such an awesome experience! I was too young to go to the original Woodstock, but I’ve always fantasized about being there as an adult. It took me a while, but I finally made it — and wow, it gave me chills! The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and full of history. You can almost feel the energy of those 450,000 people who came together for peace, love, and music. The museum is fantastic — filled with stories, photos, and memories from that legendary time. If you ever get the chance, go! It’s not just a place, it’s a feeling. A walk through history that still radiates good vibes. ✌️💛🎶

Beautiful building and grounds. We had sandwiches at the Cafe before touring the museum. There was so much to read, and see. We watched some videos, viewed the memorabilia, listened to music, visited the gift shop. Came back later in the evening for the last night of the Peace, Love and Pumpkins Festival. What a great event! There were local vendors, a drone show, a very nicely decorated path, fire pits, food options. All the staff was terrific.
Kathy H — Google review
The building is nice. The grounds are nice BUT the Woodstock Exhibit leaves a lot to be desired. Basically its frames of the movie documentary blown up in parts and spread out throughout the Hall and its extremely grainy to booth. Maybe the younger generation might enjoy it because I doubt they've seen the movie. For everyone else from that ERA its a bust. Not to mention your paying a pretty penny to get in lol. Took me all of 5 minutes and $23.00. Decide for yourself :)
Delia — Google review
Awesome museum and grounds. Very knowledgeable staff, a few of them actually attended Woodstock in 1969. Movies were informative, lots of photos of bands that played at Woodstock. We also went to a peace, Love & Pumpkins. It was a Halloween experience of lighted up trails over 400 carved pumpkins and ghosts and ghouls. It is advertised as scary but it wasn’t. Still had a great time there was a band playing in enclosed pavilion, lots of vendors, food and drinks available for purchase. We spent the night on site in their campground. We stayed in the glamping area. Would love to come back next year for some of their summer concerts.

Decent coffee. They are not bad, sometimes nice sometimes kinda mid. My friend & their family wont go back because of their prices / portions, but I do - just much more rarely than I would if it was a bit more thoughtful on the balance. They were extremely nice the first time I went in happy to explain **all the baked goods though there was no expression of interest.. but fair enough! On subsequent visits, it was more of an indifferent demeanor by the same matron. They are a little weird with some pricing, they weigh some of their ingredients non generously… (be prepared for 3oz or 3.5oz portions of chicken in your sandwiches etc.) - not everything has to be huge but there is a hollowness to many of their offerings that fall underneath a normal smaller portion like you would make at home for example. Just good to know.

Absolutely wonderful spot with delicious food. Friendly service, and I love all the art and fresh baked goods. Historical building, cozy ambiance. We had several vegetarians in our party and we were all able to find great choices. Highly recommend.

Great local place to get breakfast and lunches, Has home baked goods like pies and cakes (carrot cake is my fav) I got the “farmers plate “ with sourdough toast and subbed the home fries for a side salad …
