Green Gables Heritage Place is a charming and historic site that served as the inspiration for the beloved book 'Anne of Green Gables.' This UNESCO World Heritage Site in Prince Edward Island offers tours of the quaint farmhouse, lush gardens, and rolling hills that transport visitors back to the 19th century world of Anne. The farmhouse has been transformed into a museum with period furnishings and artifacts, creating an immersive experience for fans of Lucy Maud Montgomery's work.
Really enjoyed our morning exploring all things Anne. The museum is lovely and engaging. The house and staff were great. We were there a day when actors were around dressed as characters. We loved this treat! We did the haunted woods walk with my two young kids and the length/sights were perfect. They were really engaged in the scavenger hunt. Def a highlight of a visit to the island.

A Place That Truly Feels Like Magic 👒🧺✨ Visiting Green Gables Heritage Place was an absolute dream come true. If you’ve ever read Anne of Green Gables or just love stepping into a storybook, this place makes you feel like you’re walking straight into the pages. The house is beautifully kept, full of charming little details that bring Anne’s world to life. Every room feels like it has a story to tell, and it’s so easy to imagine Anne running down the stairs or gazing out the window. The grounds are just as magical. Walking the paths, breathing in that fresh PEI air, and seeing the gardens and landscapes that inspired L.M. Montgomery—it all feels surreal. The staff were welcoming and knowledgeable, and the whole place carries this sense of nostalgia and wonder. Whether you’re a lifelong fan of Anne or just someone who enjoys history and beautiful places, this is an absolute must-visit. I left with a full heart, a camera roll full of memories, and a new appreciation for the simple magic of storytelling. P.S. I hid a painted rock outside the house—happy hunting! 🎨🪨
Cain R — Google review
Beautiful museum with a nice and easy trail around the house. However, the visit was quite short since I’m not a fan and didn’t know about the story. You can read all the descriptive texts in the exhibition in less than 20 minutes, and the house visit was also short and super packed with other tourists.
Sophie L — Google review
Yes. If you’ve read the books, it’s worth it. It is “delightful when your imaginations come alive.” Walk through the house that inspired the setting of the story, Lovers Lane and the Haunted Wood. The visitors center was also lovely and had a LMM signature ink stamp that I put in my book. This Cherry Cordial can be found all over the island but we tried it here of course! When I got home I turned the bottle-cap into a fridge magnet. And although not in the book, the beavertails were worth the wait

A Truly Charming Family Experience! Our family had such a wonderful time visiting Green Gables Heritage Place! From the moment we arrived, everything was well organized — even the parking area was easy to access, with helpful staff guiding visitors and making sure everything went smoothly. It truly felt like stepping right into Anne of Green Gables — the house, the gardens, and the trails were all beautiful and peaceful. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happily answering questions and sharing stories that made the place come alive. If you’re someone who loves novels, especially Lucy Maud Montgomery’s works, this place is absolutely worth your precious time. It’s a must-visit attraction filled with history, beauty, and heartwarming charm for the whole family. ❤️
Nort — Google review
Our group had a lovely time. A beautiful home with quite a few artifacts from the late 1800s/early 1900s. Now it is quite a short visit but make sure to make the walk over to the site where she lived through the haunted woods (not really haunted). There is a bookstore and when you purchase your Anne books you get a stamped signature of Lucy M. Montgomery, a nice added tough you don’t get anywhere else.
Monique D — Google review
If you're a fan of Anne of Green Gables and L.M. Montgomery, this will check the box — but there’s not much beyond that. The indoor displays offer a bit of background, and the house itself is charming, though the tour is quick. We found ourselves in a single-file line with people ahead and behind, which didn’t leave much time to linger or appreciate the details. The gardens outside are pleasant and well-kept, offering a quiet spot after the brief house visit. Worth a stop for fans, but likely underwhelming if you're expecting a full historical experience.
Jeff W — Google review
Compared to other sites on the island this one felt less connected to L.M Montgomery and much more like just a tourist location. Being able to walk Lucy's Lovers Lane that inspired Anne's lovers lane was super interesting as well as walking up through the hunted woods to her grandparents house were L.M Montgomery spent most of her child really solidified the land marks of Anne's life. The small museum at the beginning is really interesting with reviews from the year the boom came out at a time line of L.M Montgomerys life and writing career I really enjoyed reading all of that but all in all compared to other Anne and L.M.M Sites on PEI it lacks magic.

Ripley's Believe It or Not! is a museum showcasing an array of quirky and unusual artifacts, from shrunken human heads to rare animal skeletons. Visitors can also explore the nearby wax museum and enjoy iconic Canadian treats. The attraction offers a mix of fascinating exhibits for both kids and adults, including limited-time displays such as Luke Skywalker's original lightsaber. While some visitors found the experience enjoyable, others wished for more modern technology.
Super fun and neat collection of exhibits. The museum is really cool, and includes items that will amaze both children and adults. In addition to the museum, I also attended the wax museum which was a suprisingly large collection, as well as sifting for treasure. I highly recommend all 3, and if you’re looking for more to do there is a paintball course a stones throw away (I mean that literally). Super fun, highly recommended experience with lots to do and see
Zack L — Google review
This is a fun little place to go. You learn a lot about different things that are very interesting and they have a lot of big items that you're just like, wow, someone actually used a bunch of random metal and made a robot or the machine that can move. You also find different things that have been passed down through the years and you're like, how the heck did someone make this? The place is pretty awesome and I think about halfway through or closer to the end. There's a giant sandbox that you can play with. When you build land or sea it a spawns dinosaurs, using a projector so the kids really love it. I think the only thing that I would like is that there should be a hand sanitizer that was close by, because again, a lot of hands are going in the sand. The other thing is, once you have gone through it and seen everything, it's kind of hard to go back through it again unless you take people who have never been.

Very cool stuff just like other Ridley believe It or not but this one is very small took me and my husband only 30mins to walk through while taking our time and looking over things.

Great for mini golf. We have never done the other stuff.

Not the first time I was here but first time with my family. Was a decent experience for the kids. The layout and the flow made sense in order to avoid bottlenecks or build up of people. We’re a few displays that allowed for interaction and a reset from fact based displays. Certainly a bit pricey when looking at the time spent inside. Overall great experience, seen it, may not need to return.

Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Avonlea Village is a charming destination that pays homage to the author of 'Anne of Green Gables.' Once described as a mini theme park, it has transformed into a free outdoor shopping area with various restaurants and tourist shops. While the costumed characters are no longer present, visitors can still explore the streets of Anne's fictional village.
A beautiful little village that's easy to walk around and grab a bite at several of its restaurants. It also has the Cows outlet and several art and craft stores, as well as the Anne of Green Gables store. The sign at the entrance rightfully brags that Avonlea Village has the best places to eat in PEI, and they're right. Moo Moo BBQ and Cows are definitely one of the best BBQ and ice-cream you can find anywhere, let alone on an island such as PEI. With plenty of free parking, a wonderful atmosphere and a great selection of shops and restaurants, Avonlea Village is a must visit spot in PEI.
Sam J — Google review
Lots of great food options - Lone Oak brewery (check out my review), Piatto pizza, Turkey Tavern, etc. There is also a Cows ice cream. Plenty of free parking. The buildings are rustic and interesting. Nice to walk around.
Christopher P — Google review
As the name suggests wonderful meals of different types of prepared turkey. I had the hot turkey sandwich and my wife ordered the turkey salad sandwich. Both orders were delicious. One of the best meals we've had in PEI. If you're in the area it's a must stop for a meal.
Edward D — Google review
A very nice place for lunch, but very small if you are going just to walk around and see the village. Only a handful of restaurants and gift shops here. Beautiful flowers 🌹
Zoe N — Google review
Just a tourist trap. No real history. Pretty much closed after the main season (closed in September). Basically a collection of restaurants in building made to look like a historic village. The exception is the Turkey Tavern which was still open and served up excellent turkey options.
Simon T — Google review
It was a lovely mock town of Avonlea, would have been so much better if it was open! Next time we’ll travel during summer months.
Monique D — Google review
Honestly was pretty disappointed. I know it’s end of the season for PEI, however we were there the second busiest weekend on PEI and pretty much everything besides 2 restaurants were closed. Which is crazy to me considering it was still hot and had a ton of tourists there that weekend. A lot of which were going to the grounds directly beside Avonlea village, so you think they’d stay open for all that traffic. There was also only one gift shop open and the prices were exorbitant. I’m sure this is better during peak season but I won’t be returning, honestly not really even worth it. There are much better things on pei to see.
Natalie C — Google review
Very touristy area but lots to eat and do some shopping! The brewery was where we were going but it was packed! So get there early or try to make a reservation! Got some ice cream and it was pretty good!

Very delicious ice cream!! But fair warning though, COWS ice cream is a tad thicker than the usual ice cream you’d find elsewhere. I had two scoops and it already made me full. Otherwise, I’d totally recommend!

We had a fantastic experience at this ice cream place! The service was friendly and efficient, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked up to the counter. They offer a large variety of ice cream flavours and plenty of menu options to choose from. Our favourites were the milkshake with PEI strawberry and blueberry ice cream, as well as the PEI strawberry and blueberry ice cream itself. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to satisfy their sweet tooth!

Just Johnny's is a casual dining spot with a great patio where you can enjoy burgers, fish and chips, and finger food. You can either order online or walk up to the counter to place your order for food and drinks. The restaurant has a clean and modern atmosphere but lacks table service. Some visitors felt that the prices were high considering the lack of table service, but they enjoyed the good quality of the lobster roll and friendly staff.
We got here at around 7 PM and even though there were several people, we were served quickly, and let me tell you, the food did not disappoint! Classic fish and chips with homemade french fries straight from PEI! Being from Shediac NB, I suppose I would be considered a “Local Tourist”, but would not mind having a “Just Johnny’s” back home to enjoy as a local. Big thumbs up to the team!
Mark C — Google review
We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday before heading to mini golf. The service was excellent - very friendly and welcoming. The food was great, especially the fish and chips. The kids really appreciated the free ice cream with their kids meals.
Amanda — Google review
Atlantic haddock hit all the right check marks. Great crispy coating, and the fish perfect, moist, great texture and light flavour. Burger was pretty good, cooked right. Pretty good fries with light seasoning. Down fall is the gravy which I do not recommend, and I'm a big gravey and sauce guy. Thick but flavour not for me or my wife.
Robert P — Google review
If you’re in PEI and you’re not going to Just Johnny’s, What are you doing Exactly? Definitely try the crispy chicken club and the grand slam. Secrets about the island are shared here 😉. Milkshakes, shots and their wine … just wowwww. And the Service —— No comments. When you visit ask the service their greatest dish 😉. Fell in love with this place and the atmosphere. Dorette. 😊
Soh D — Google review
I've only had the chicken club burger with fries and gravy. Food is really good. I gave 4 stars only because I dislike the mvp sauce they add and I had requested it not be put on and it was still added. Other than that, food and service is good. A little on the pricey side.
Courtney P — Google review
Take out or sit down quick meal option in Cavendish PEI....one of the best lobster rolls...nothing but lobster excellent mix of tail and claw meat with a bit of mayo....fantastic toasted buttery bun. Fries were crisp and cooked to perfection. We chose to eat in our car due to having our dog with us but they have tables outside and inside. Menu appears to have great options other than lobster.

We had the Champion Burger with onion rings, fries & queso (omg yum!!) and a side of fish. Everything was hot & delicious. I especially liked that I could get a glass of wine in a real glass. Fantastic meal all around!

Despite occasional staffing challenges during the pandemic, the staff does their best to serve customers efficiently. Visitors appreciate the quick service and good taste of their offerings.

Y'all need to train your staff better because what on earth is this. Ordered a wrap and this is how it was given to me. I had to rewrap this food myself because it was open in the back and my hands were absolutely covered in sauce

Ordered a hot chocolate and instead got a cup of boiling water. No mix, no flavor, just liquid fire in a cup. Nearly burned my mouth before realizing there wasn’t even a hint of chocolate. If I wanted to sip plain water from a kettle, I could’ve done that at home for free. Easily the worst Tim Hortons experience I’ve had.

Cavendish Beach, located within Prince Edward Island National Park, is an 8km-long stretch of white-gold sand and tranquil Gulf of St. Lawrence waters. Visitors can relax on the shoreline, explore sand dunes, or hike scenic trails in the park. The area also offers iconic landmarks related to Anne of Green Gables and opportunities for activities like golfing and fishing.
Cavendish Beach is stunning combination of white sand, dramatic red cliffs, and a long, scenic boardwalk makes it one of the most picturesque beaches. The long boardwalk is perfect for a leisurely walk, offering incredible views of the dunes and ocean. There’s huge parking area, clean washrooms, lot of picnic benches. Whether you're there for a peaceful stroll or a day of relaxation, Cavendish Beach is a must-visit on Prince Edward Island. Truly a slice of paradise!

OMG! The first thing impressing is jellyfish in the ocean close to the coast. It is not that deep or warm you can swim, but you can walk by jellyfish. Somebody showed me how to pick them up by hand, and I did. No danger, it is new experience, DO IT : ) I liked there was shower and changing room after getting wet in the ocean, which they were clean and organized. Coastal sand was soft, and some folk using it for sunbathing. Overall, picturesque environment also due to red sandstone cliffs. There is lifeguard during the summer time for swimming (July & August). Finally, strongly recommended!
Nima M — Google review
Stunning beach! Large parking, facilities (bathroom, changing rooms, showers, outdoors showers and small cafe). Fee but well worth it. Boardwalk that also leads you to beach, accessible to wheelchair. Lifeguards. It gets a bit crowded, but you can easily walk away to have a more peaceful space. Bring your shade tent and picnic and you will have a great time! Beautiful scenery. be sure to visit even if for just a stroll on beach.
P B — Google review
This beach was nice and clean, with unique red sands. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and though it was quite busy, there was still plenty of space for us. The water was clean, shallow, and warm—perfect for a family outing with kids. There were showers on-site to wash off on the way back, which was convenient, and free parking was available as well. I enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this beach.
Shora D — Google review
The entrance to the beach is paid, and there is ample parking. There are changing rooms, WC, a clean wooden pier to the beach, and a foot shower. The beach is sandy, but the entrance to the water is rocky and sometimes slippery due to algae. There is a kelp smell. The water seemed cool, and the water was clear. Overall, it was a great, clean place to stay! I recommend it!
Natalya K — Google review
Beautiful sand beach lined with large sand dunes with with distinct red sandstone cliffs. Well maintained boardwalks with natural pond areas and wildflower meadows, we were visiting as Hurricane Lee arrived so the were lots of dramatic crashing waves and strong winds… still beautiful though. The shower / washrooms were well maintained and incredibly clean. The only downside was that a few areas were tapped off due to walkways being broken and broken information signs.
Jamie H — Google review
Had a really enjoyable time here. Nice facilities that were clean when we were there. I think a 4.5 is a better rating as the beach is quite rocky and hard to enjoy for swimming. That said the sandcastle making was lots of fun. Overall beautiful views, just keep in mind the trees in the area show evidence of the hurricanes that have come through. Also, check out the Sunset and Stars hike put on by Canada Parks.
Nick K — Google review
We came here on a cruise ship excursion in early April, none of the buildings were open (no bathrooms either) so we just walked on the boardwalk and down to the shore, it was picturesque with the sand dunes and views of the ocean.

$40 per person got you entrance into 4 attractions; Ripley's Believe it or Not, which was the family favourite attraction. Be sure to take your time and read things as you go through. Maze which was simple but a nice activity for kids. The Wax Museum which wasn't terrific but okay as part of the package. The mini putt was very disappointing. Each hole was essentially the same. Nothing interesting, sandpit on every one. There are no benches to sit or rest on and there is no edging so the kids frequently shot off the green. Greco and Beavertails had good food at a reasonable price.
Karen E — Google review
I liked it as everything is close by, but the tables and floor on the dining room where dirty the whole day. I understand that most of it is customers but a cleaning once in a while would be awesome

Gift shops, food places, an amusement park and two museums. It's a pretty nice spot for goods, entertainment and activities.

Mariner's Cove is a bit of a tourist trap, but it does have fun activities (mini golf, a maze, a mining game) and good food (Beavertails and PEO Handpie Co.). The coolest thing IMHO was the huge Autobot/Mech statue the have.

Tourist information center
The Cavendish Visitor Information Centre is a great starting point for exploring the area, with its convenient location near various attractions like Green Gables House, Olde Cavendish Post Office, and Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish Homestead. The center offers plenty of information on local activities and attractions, making it useful for both visitors and locals. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful Island art on display while seeking assistance from the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
We were able to pick up a good amount of information that we were searching for. Very friendly staff and everyone seemed eager to help us. Maps on hand for the areas we wanted to explore. Plenty of room for a big rig to turn around in at the end of the parking lot, but do a Google Earth view first just to make sure this works for you.

The staff were so kind!! They helped us by calling taxi. I appreciate them. I strongly recommend visiting this place.
M T — Google review
They have a great knowledgeable staff that knows the area and can really help you find what would interest you. They have maps of the area and have many ideas and suggestions to help. There is currently a photo exhibit there from the late 1800's by the author of Anne of Green Gables, Lucy Maud Montgomery.

Been a few times, the absolute sweetest staff you could ever want! Very knowledgeable and lovely.

Very thankful for this information center. Lots of brochures and booklets to help you decide where to go and what you want to do? Staff to answer your questions and clean bathrooms.

Great place to stop for information from helpful staff and guide books, WiFi or just rest. Clean washrooms too!

Perfect spot to park & go for a long walk on the long boardwalk! If you peek to the right of the info building you can also head towards the ‘Dunelands’ trails and the cavendish beach East lookout!

Amusement park
Water & Amusement Parks
Theme Parks
Nestled in the heart of Prince Edward Island, Sandspit Cavendish Beach is a delightful amusement park that promises endless fun for families. With an impressive lineup of attractions, including the Cyclone Roller Coaster—Atlantic Canada's largest—thrill-seekers will find their adrenaline fix here. The park features a variety of rides such as go-karts, bumper boats, and classic favorites like the Tilt-a-Whirl and Scrambler.
Sandspit in Cavendish is the perfect mix of fun and nostalgia! 🎢 It’s not huge, but it packs in just the right amount of thrills with the Cyclone coaster, bumper boats, and plenty of classic rides for younger kids. The vibe is super relaxed, the staff are friendly, and it’s easy to spend a whole afternoon laughing and making memories. Pro tip: pack your own snacks and go for the unlimited ride bracelet — totally worth it!
Dr. D — Google review
Good park for younger children and inexperienced theme park people. Small park with rides good for most novices. Did really enjoy the bumper boats and bumper cars and the go cats looked fun but I didn't pay the extra to go on them.
Nathaniel M — Google review
PEI was a bucket list trip for my family and I. I work at a theme park, which also celebrated their 40th anniversary (Dollywood). So I had to check out Sandspit! The park is a cute place to check out. Sandspit has that classic carnival feel to it. Admission was free! Ride packages are offered at the entrance of the park, which range from one single ride to the unlimited rides for the day. We ended up riding Cyclone and purchased a t-shirt for the memory of the trip.
Jared — Google review
We had a fun time at Sandspit. The roller coaster was the biggest hit with my kids. They also enjoyed the Ferris wheel, tilt-a-whirl, paratroopers, the scrambler, and the bumper boats. It would be nice if there were more shady areas to rest/wait in.
Amanda — Google review
This place is a delight. It’s small, but there are enough rides to keep young kids entertained for most of the day, and its size is part of the charm. We went on a summer weekday and there was no wait to buy wrist bands and we didn’t wait more than 5 minutes for most rides. Because it’s small you can easily pop out to your car for sunscreen or water or snacks for the kids. It wasn’t crowded at all. I found it really charming - a fun day and good value for money. You can come and go all day with the wrist bands - it was nice to go in the morning, spend the afternoon at the beach and return after dinner to go on our favourite rides again.
Jessica D — Google review
Came here for the day with a 4 year old who unfortunately wasn't quite tall enough for many of the rides. Very important to check the requirements online. If you buy early online you can save some money. It's an ok spot, a bit of a tourist trap. We had a lot of adults flat out butt in front of us in line which made for extremely long wait for our toddler and no staff around to intervene aside from the person running the ride. You will quickly go through tickets if you go that route and your kids aren't tall enough, as you'll need to be in the rides with them that they can go on. Lots of parking
Stephanie N — Google review
Just a fun time for the kids. It has been revamped and made better in my opinion. Go karts were still fun, a newer water cannon ride and a new 360 ride. All in all, a good value for the money. Food is a little expensive but that is expected. Not a lot of shade so bring sunblock and hats! We will be coming back!! A great place for kids!
Mike M — Google review
Great Amusement Park! Easy to access, easy to park. We saved on ticket price by purchasing online for 6pm to 10pm. What a great idea to go at that time - busy but able to do rides quickly and not too warm outside. Great rides for adults and kids - we had a 3yr old, 41 inch tall in our party, and he was able to do many rides either alone or with an adult that kept him happy and busy. Park is clean, rides are well maintained. Park staff are safety oriented which is great! Bonus - on the ferris wheel, you can see the ocean while on top - stunning view!

Restaurant
The Lost Anchor is a seafood restaurant with local dishes and a patio. It offers fish and chips, sandwiches, and scallops. The food is excellent, and the cocktails are great too.
I'm not a seafood lover but...they have really good tacos :) The fries are really good too! We sat in their outdoor seating area. It was nice. They also had a cute sign up in the girls bathroom that I liked. Although I didn't dine inside. I like the layout of the dinning area.
Courtney P — Google review
Let's start with the food. The lobster was exquisite and the fish (in the fish and chips) was excellent. The reason for the 3/5 rating is because the calamari was so over-breaded, that you can't even taste the calamari, and the fries are so salty that we couldn't even finish them. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming, but the space is crowded and the seating not very comfortable. We left telling each other that this is not a restaurant we'd come back to, but I would still recommend it for the lobster and just ask that your fries be less seasoned.
Sam J — Google review
After a fun day at the beach in Cavendish 🏖️, we stopped by The Lost Anchor. Luckily, there was no waiting list 🙌, though the food took about 35 minutes to arrive ⏳. We ordered the shrimp plate 🍤, 2x fish & chips for the kids 🐟🍟, and a salad with truffle fries 🍟🥗 for my wife (wish there were a few more vegan options 🌱). The food was absolutely delicious 😋 and the service was wonderful 👏. Big shoutout to the staff for making our visit enjoyable! 💙
Clement K — Google review
Very nice place to eat. The staff are friendly and the food is great. Great place to eat with the fam after going to the beach and the Green Gables house. We all had lobster something so it brought up the price a lot but it was worth it. Very large portions. Classic seafood taste and smells.
Jonathan F — Google review
We returned to The Lost Anchor this season, drawn back by great memories and from a double visit last year—safe to say expectations were high. The place was buzzing when we arrived. We were seated quickly despite being busy, but food and drinks took longer than expected. Staff were managing a busy evening and mentioned a new chef stepping in—something we appreciated, even though the change brought some noticeable hiccups. Drinks were slow, and meals arrived without cutlery, forcing us to wait before we could dig in. Ordered a Caesar and the flavor hit all the right notes—but the rim and garnishes felt a little off. Still satisfying, but not quite the full experience I was hoping for. That said, the food held up: - Kid #1 and Kid #2 both had burgers and fries—no complaints, just clean plates (and a little sisterly rivalry over who got served first). - I went for the fish & chips. Visually impressive, flavor was decent, though the fries taste didn’t quite match their look. - My wife opted for the burrito bowl and was satisfied—though like me, had to spend some extra minutes eyeing her meal before eating it. All in all, we got food, we got drinks, and we’ll chalk this one up as a busy-day bump and chef transition timing. Still planning to give it another shot next year—we know what it can be when it hits its stride.
Andrew W — Google review
Seafood chowder, mussels and the lobster Mac and cheese were excellent. Chowder was full of flavour and Mac had enough lobster to have many bites. Must also call out the mash - was so flavourful - ate every morsel. Nice pic opportunity to take one with an anchor from the sunken Marco Polo. Highly recommended and will definitely go back again. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Was a big HIT on my Hit or Miss Vacation Spots List
Sundesh B — Google review
We stopped here for lunch at the recommendation of some of the locals. They were pleasant, friendly, and efficient in making our visit great. The salad and fish chowder were just what we needed. We would eat there often if we lived close by, which is what the locals said they do.
John T — Google review
What a great spot! Food was delicious! Lobster roll was so fresh and the summer salad that was recommended by the server was wonderful. Truffle fries weren’t great, very oily. Services was good but the restaurant was incredibly hot.

Seafood restaurant
On Prince Edward Island, there's a family-run restaurant that stands out as a favorite among visitors. The establishment is known for its fresh seafood and homemade fries, offering an authentic taste of island hospitality. Despite being small on staff, the restaurant provides excellent customer service and delicious food. Guests rave about the mussels, lobster rolls, and poutine, with particular praise for the hot and flavorful lobster rolls. The warm atmosphere and friendly service make it a must-visit spot for those exploring the area.
I had a Deck Hand Lobster Roll with the potato salad. The service is 10/10, Brooklyn is amazing. They ran out of potato salad but made more just for us. It was all so delicious that we ordered 2 more to go that night! We went back the next day for lunch for takeout and I got the Lobster Grill Cheese with fries (which were perfectly seasoned). The others in our group got the other Lobster Rolls and Mussels.
Stephanie L — Google review
Very good food and generous portions, do not miss this place. The lobster rolls are huge and the fish & chips is very good. They just need better air conditioning and maybe renew/improve the decor.
Jonathan C — Google review
Amazing food and great service. This little gem doesn’t look like much from the outside but here is where I had the best lobster roll in my life! The fries were the best too, although I ordered the potato salad. Kids menu at $9. My husband had the fish burger and was pleasantly surprised.
Adriana M — Google review
Food was delicious and reasonably priced and our waitress was so so kind. She was so sweet and patient with our kids and went out of her way to find recommendations for us when I asked. Got my son a to-go cup and a refill when he wanted to take his lemonade with him. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back next time we’re on the island!

Food was great, both our sandwiches were loaded with lobster. Our server was so friendly as well. Definitely a must try.
Amélie B — Google review
My husband and I are STILL talking about how amazing the potato salad was served with my lobster roll. My lobster roll was excellent, loved the warmed butter served on the side that could be added at will, but the potato salad is the best we have ever had!! My husband's fish and chips were properly prepared, tasty, but we both were fighting over the potato salad! FYI: do not pass up their pina colada! Best blended refreshing cocktail we had in our 17 days of traveling 😋

Seated us quick Got our small order in before a big table so we would not have to wait. Food was exceptional. I'm not a seafood guy but the Seafood Chowder and the the fish was outstanding. Totally recommend

Pizza restaurant
Piatto Pizzeria is a place that offers thin-crust pizza cooked in a wood fire, creating a unique and delicious flavor. It is recommended for those seeking high-quality pizzas. Another option is Buono Mangia, an Italian-style restaurant known for its homemade pasta, breads, cheese, and desserts. For those looking for something different from the typical fish and chips in Cavendish, this place is a great alternative.
We had a wonderful dinning experience this afternoon while exploring Cavendish. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. Pizza was delicious and the patio picnic table around was gorgeous.
Kate S — Google review
Stopped here for dinner on our travels. It was a very busy night for the restaurant. The pizza they make was delicious. Crust was fabulous and the variety of pizza was perfect. Some with red sauce and some with white sauce. We had the Sicilian and the Americana. We started with a caprese salad which was beautiful (just a little too salty was my only complaint). What made our night was our wonderful server Caroline! She was attentive, relatable and incredible with customer service. Given how busy they were she was impressive! Sadly, it was her last night before heading to France for 4months.
Mary K — Google review
Our family of four really enjoyed Piatto. The pizza was delicious - thin light crust and great flavour. Our server was lovely and attentive.

Am visiting and specifically looking for wood fired pizza and this did. not. disappoint. Fresh ingredients, rich in flavor, farm to plate, perfectly fired! Highly recommend!!

Surprised! It's the most delicious pizza I've eaten in a long time. I'm a vegetarian but I also came with a friend who eats meat and we were all fascinated with this delight. If salad is also amazing, the atmosphere is nice and not to mention the staff. Charismatic with very good attitude in the service Britney very attentive. Congratulations to the people who are part of this project. They have a great place. Very good job 👏🏼

This was our second time eating at Piatto Pizzeria. The food was amazing again. The dough is light and fluffy and the flavors are outstanding. Alyssa was amazing, yet again. She has been the best waitress/waiter we’ve had this vacation. Super friendly, very attentive, and is really good at her job. She made this a very positive dining experience. Highly recommend this restaurant and if you can, ask for Alyssa!!!!
Adrienne M — Google review
Piatto Pizzeria was delicious! As a family that has been to Naples, no other pizza has compared until theirs. Our party of 6 rated every meal a 10/10, which does not happen often. Our server was very sweet and excellent at her job. Highly recommend this restaurant!!
Jillian M — Google review
Was excited to go here as the other locations are not open anymore. It could have been an off day but the pizza was terrible. It came out barley warm and soggy. Pretty disappointed. Also pretty much all the beers we sold out. The waitress was great and apologetic but I'm not sure I'll go back, right around $50 for a cold soggy pizza and a beer I didn't want. My wife's line oak Selzer was great though. I'm hoping it was an off day but I'm not so sure as it is Cavendish and they are more interested in taking you money out there then anything else.

The MOO MOO BBQ Grilled Cheesery in Avonlea Village offers delicious food and efficient service. Customers can enjoy quick counter service with pre-made items, making it a convenient stop for those in a hurry. It is also family-friendly, making it an easy choice for parents looking to dine with their children. The mac and cheese was described as overly creamy, but overall the food receives high praise. The staff is friendly and approachable, providing excellent customer service.
Very delicious! We ordered grilled cheese with pulled pork, tomatoes soup and Mac n cheese. 😋 It was just enough to share with my wife for a quick pick me up. Washed it down with a Raspberry Cordial of course! Love the whole concept.
Jude C — Google review
Excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere, but this place is all about the food, it hits a spot. Spend all morning at Cavendish beach, then drop by Moo Moo for a sandwich and you'll know exactly what I mean. Every item we tried was so delicious. The mix of the sauces and coleslaw/pickles with the meet, be it brisket or sausage, it exquisite. As for the grilled cheese sandwich, made with local Cows cheese, that is both decadent and memorable, because it will be the best grilled cheese sandwich you'll ever have. We left this place telling each other we must come back again before our trip to Cavendish ends. I highly recommend it.
Sam J — Google review
Incredible! A bit expensive, but worth it! delicious, made to order, and did not take long! Good quality grilled cheese sandwiches. Just what we wanted for lunch! Not to much indoor seating, but plenty of outdoor seating available. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They did a food job making the sandwiches. I would definetly go to this place again!
Morgan B — Google review
Tried this place out as well as a couple others in the village. Cool concept to smoke the meat outside it sure smells good. The flavour was good however this was the toughest brisket we have ever eaten and brisket is known to be tender so not sure how this can be cooked this way. BBQ sauce was good though and the Mac and cheese. Pulled pork OK
Kenneth C — Google review
Too much money for too little food. $49 for half a pound of ribs, half a pound of pulled pork and a small mac and cheese. Staff were nice, restaurant was cute. Left hungry.
Russell F — Google review
came here on recommendation. Wouldn’t recommend this place at all - tried the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs and only the ribs were juicy. Flavour is alright - the bbq sauce does all the work. it wasn’t served that warm since it’s all cooked and wrapped in aluminum foil before serving. 1/2 LB is not a lot of meat but soooo pricy. The Mac and cheese is good but not very cheesy despite having awards for their cheese. Beans were pretty good, wish we had better meat to go with it. Better spending your money elsewhere
Alanna T — Google review
This used to be an amazing place, but our trip this year was horrible. Over $10 for a grilled cheese sandwich. Regular white loaf bread. No chips on the side or anything. End piece of bread as well. My son was really disappointed, and I couldn’t believe that was all there was for the price. We understand things have gone up in price, but his was ridiculous.

What a fabulous day we had. Kids 3,5,7,9 perfect ages for getting your moneys worth. Loved the variety this venue offered. Young people working were very engaging, this company should be proud of this youth. Safe and well maintained aside from the beverage machines not working. We r from out of province so we were actually at the end of the day pleased with our value for our money and something different to do for the kids. Perhaps a map of the grounds could be offered as we really didn’t know all that was offered and where it was in the park. Aside from that well done Shining Family Fun Park

We had such a wonderful day at Shining Waters! The park is perfect for families — there’s something for everyone, from thrilling waterslides to the relaxing splash pad and fun rides for the little ones. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole place was clean and well-kept. It’s clear they take pride in making it a safe, welcoming spot. We left with big smiles and lots of great memories. Aside from all the above, it would be great to see more shaded areas installed, as it can get quite hot on those sunny summer days. A few healthier food options would also be a wonderful addition. Otherwise, a fantastic spot we highly recommend for a carefree, joy-filled day!
Dr. D — Google review
Very basic park. Rides thrill level is very low. Good for kids under the age of 12. Rides are sparse and few, but included in the fee. There is a roller coaster but it's very mediocre. Good for small kids too. The water park is very basic as well. You have 3 tall slides that are fun but that's literally where everyone is at all times (come early). There's a kids section and a semi adult section on the other side. Paddle boats in two areas (small ponds though). There's some food on site but if you're hoping gluten-free or peanut allgery then you're not in luck, pack your own snacks or take off for lunch and return lkle half the locals do. There's plenty of area to setup A picnic and they have chairs too. Nice trails. This place tried. I feel more investment is needed. There's lots of empty spaces and some rides could use upgrades and maybe even a few more rides. Not ripping on them at all. Just felt like there's way more potential. If you ever want to visit, this place sits right in cottage inns and such. Easy to drive to from anywhere though.
Christopher R — Google review
If you buy tickets 24 hours in advance online, you will save money. I also recommend packing food and snacks as the food there is a little pricey. My family and I had a great time (age range 43-34-10-3 months old) something for everyone (minus the baby, of course)
Kristy B — Google review
Smallish waterpark/amusement park. But plenty for small kids. Ample shade. Stroller friendly for the most part. $75 for adult and child same day tickets. It may be cheaper online a day before. Not sure. Thankful for something different to do other than the beach every day lol. Warm showers when your done.

Lovely amusement park and water combo Good for the price and lovely that you can do both water ans amusement park rides from one entry 😀 😉
Vickynssien J — Google review
We visit PEI every summer, and Shining Waters has been a favourite stop for our family for the past four years. My boys (now 6 and 9) have always loved the park — it’s fun, family-friendly, and great for younger kids. That said, my oldest is starting to outgrow many of the rides, as they’re geared more toward the younger crowd. The water slides are always a highlight, but on hot days the wait for a tube can be 45 minutes or more, and the pavement gets really hot on bare feet. The park has so much potential — a few upgrades like more slides or more tubes would go a long way.

I wish the wax statues were more accurate and that there was more to see. Some of the wax statues looked like they may have needed repair. Overall it was an alright experience.
Hailey P — Google review
Many of the sculptures do not seem to scale and don't look anything like those whom they represent. We didn't recognize any of the blondes in the one of the first rooms. There was no signage indicating who they were. How hard or costly could it be to put up a plaque? Ripleys is worth it. This place is not. Save your money.
Jonathan S — Google review
I don’t recommend this to anyone. I have no idea even the wax figures were retired from more reputable wax museums or maybe were people who were learning to make them. There were a few that were impressive but most showed zero likeness to the celebrities or characters. There is no rhyme or reason to the layout. You have basketball players mixed with Disney characters, Harry Potter mixed in with the avengers. It honestly felt like an odd fever dream. But if you are very interested in a baseball that Pamela Anderson signed then this might be the way museum for you! Do NOT waste your money or time here.

Overpriced, dated and tackey You can go through the entire exhibit in 25 minutes. Most items are dated and unless you grew up in the 70s(or early) won’t hold have significance for you. This place is long long long overdue for a refresh. The biggest waste of money on our vacation. The most enjoyable part about it was laughing about how bad it was after the fact.
Matthew H — Google review
In all honesty this place is pretty low rent . By far the best figures are in the lobby. At best inside they look like maniquins with bad hair. If anything its a one time and never go back in kind of place. Just so you can say you went. Save your money.
Jim J — Google review
Not as much wax items as I was expecting. Thebprice was low so that was great for the kids.
Corey L — Google review
It was my first time visiting a wax figure museum so I enjoyed my experience. But the figures are very dated but it was a fun time!

Nice store with a good selection of Cows apparel and other items at outlet prices. The service is exceptional, their staff are genuinely friendly and very helpful.
Sam J — Google review
I was really looking forward to scoring some discounted T-shirts, but unfortunately, the store was a letdown. All of the clothing is made up of discontinued models — essentially leftover stock — and the size selection was extremely limited. Everything was either XS, Small, or Medium, across both T-shirts and sweatshirts. If you’re looking for larger sizes or a decent variety, this isn’t the place. Unless you're shopping for a sun visor or happen to wear very small sizes, you're better off checking out one of the other Cows store locations.

La Rose Bistro is an upscale restaurant that prioritizes using fresh, local ingredients to put a refined twist on classic dishes. The bistro offers a full lunch and dinner menu, sourcing authentic, local ingredients to create an excellent dining experience. Customers have raved about the delicious meals and friendly service at La Rose Bistro, with highlights including the Mussels starter and Chicken Alfredo dish. Additionally, visitors have praised the Pork Belly BLT and the chef's special dessert.
Hidden gem of PEI or all of the coast I would say. I cannot describe the freshness and the quality of the food and the taste. The chef is just a gem. We were so tired of all the typical fish&chips and fried seafood all over the area and after finding this place, I felt in heaven. I cannot recommend this place enough, all the small touches, the serves and the FOOD! Halibut and scallops were out of this world!
Malim — Google review
We had a very nice family dinner here with excellent food. I had the chowder and salmon dinner. Both were delicious. Others had the mussels, pasta and crab dip. There were no complaints on the food. The service was very slow and the food came out at different times. Our drinks were empty for some time before refill. However, overall it is a great spot to try.

Every time I come to PEI, I always make the effort to drive down to Cavendish for this restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. The dishes were presented beautifully, you can tell the Chef takes pride in his craft. I had a couple things on their lunch and dinner menus and they did not disappoint! Staff was attentive and kind. The mocktails are great too! It’s a great local spot.

We went in mid June when tourist season was just beginning. The owner opened early to accommodate us and soon others joined us. Lovely outdoor seating. The food was excellent.

What a gem of a restaurant. Nice decor, good service and delicious food. We ordered the lobster pot pie, the salmon, and scallops; every dish was excellent. Would love to come back to try the other items on the menu!
Sajjid H — Google review
I had the best lobster pot pie of my life in Prince Edward Island it was absolutely unforgettable. Perfectly flaky crust, tender local lobster, and a creamy, flavorful filling that felt like pure comfort. What made it even more special was sharing it with my family of five. Great food, amazing company, and the charm of PEI made it one of the best experiences I've ever had.
Ash C — Google review
This was a recommended spot to eat, however it was not ideal for families. The menu for the kids was very minimal and when travelling with kids they need to happy. My husband and I both enjoyed our food. I had the Seared Scallops and Blueberry Lemonade and my husband had the Scallop Fettuccine.
Patricia L — Google review
Had the vegan mushroom wellington and substituted the salad for some roasted potatoes. Would have loved to have more of the sauce, it really made the dish. If you're visiting the Anne of Green Gables House, this place is just a few minutes away and definitely worth stopping by. There are also a few other restaurants within the same location if you're unable to get a table.

Chez Yvonne's is a cozy, unpretentious restaurant serving up steaks, seafood and breakfast fare in unassuming digs since 1969. The food is excellent, and the staff are friendly and attentive.
Had a lovely lobster dinner here with my family! There is a dedicated gluten free menu for those who have gluten needs. I suggest making a reservation if you are a large group or wanting to meet past 5pm as the place gets busy!
Brett M — Google review
A tourist trap restaurant. Higher prices and a dated building. Staff were great, service was great. Food was not good. I had a crispy chicken burger and it's basically a premade patty from a bulk food supplier. The menu makes you believe it's a nice chicken breast with an in-house breading which is not the reality. Won't be going back. Wendy's chicken burger is better which is just sad. Visit one of the many food trucks instead and most likely get better food.

Had dinner here on a short trip to PEI on a vacation. Service was excellent, as was the food. Thanks for taking care of us. Lots of choices on the menu, good straight forward food with a local touch.
Simon T — Google review
Visited as a tourist and believe or not they were out of baked potato’s! Ordered: Mussels - were awesome !!!! Surf and turf - I wouldn’t recommend. Seafood platter with baked potato ( we didn’t get potato bc there were out ) - was great but super small potion and too price (over $40 for a plate) Kids cheeseburger with French Fries - was ok but FF looked like frozen from the store.
Agnes R — Google review
Great local restaurant. Indoor and outdoor seating. Casual food. Be sure to leave room for pie.

My Sister and I took a road trip to PEI from Ottawa. We had several meals at Chez Yvonne's and the food was delicious and the staff was so welcoming!!
Leza B — Google review
Really enjoyed our lovely, casual dinner here. We went for dinner on a Sunday night, arriving early, about 5. No waiting, walked right in, but the restaurant filled up quickly. Delicious down home cooking, in a nice atmosphere. Wait staff attentive and very nice. My husband loved the turkey dinner, and I loved the Seafood Chowder and Turkey Club sandwich. Servings were large and the prices were very reasonable. The only negative - when the restaurant gets full, it's very LOUD. Definitely recommended!

Drove from ON to NB, then over to PEI! Had some food over at the Cavendish Boardwalk but it was very pricey for what you got compared to the full plate that you get here! Service was great and the food was wonderful. We had a variety of fresh sea food, variety of drinks and they accommodated our large group! I would go back for sure, muscles were perfect and the lobster dinner was 10+!
