A hugely disappointing visit compared to our visit in January and February this year. This used to be a favourite spot when we were in the Underberg area. Sadly the brilliant previous menu which had delicious options has disappeared and a new but limited pricier menu has taken The food is now average to say the least. Sadly the place has lost its charm and what made it special unfortunately. Pictures show what the offering was in our feb visit compared to what it is now in the first pic. Please new owners you had a gem there Don’t lose it.

I've been coming here on our way home from underberg since I was a kid. Love this place. Service was a little slow but the Salted Caramel milkshake was tbe best I've had in a long time and the sandwich was alright.

They have good wifi if you need to have a meeting while being on the road. Tasty milkshakes, beautiful decor and a little deli/shop.

Very popular with locals and tourists. Situated in a small complex with its own parking. Lots of little shops in the complex to browse. They claim to have the best capuccino in town for 3 years running. Had the mince on toast which was a large portion and very nice. Lots of seating.

We visited on a late June afternoon during load shedding, but the place was warm and cosy. After some lentil soup, we shared a bunny chow, which was quite good, and ended the meal with a delicious brownie with ice cream. Nice place.

Loved this quaint place, the food was awesome, the service was exceptional, it was during loadshedding, and we were informed and given a choice as to where we could sit, service was always with a smile and always willing to assist us. It's one place one must visit, when in underberg. The trout was the highlight, the best by far.

I asked to buy a cake and was refused. . The place was empty mid morning on a Saturday and couldn't sell me an cake.. I spoke to a white gentleman behind the counter. There was a chocolate cake with whispers and barone(i think) slices on top. This is the store next to the jacket shop. It is definitely the place I went to. I asked if I could buy the whole cake as we were having a birthday and I was told flatly no.

We had the pleasure of joining the Sani Pass Tour, and what truly made the experience exceptional was our incredible tour guide, Patrick. His deep knowledge of the region’s history, geography, and culture turned what could have been just a scenic drive into an unforgettable, educational journey. From the moment we began the ascent, he shared fascinating insights about the Drakensberg Mountains, the local communities, and the historical significance of the pass itself. Every stop along the way was brought to life with stories, facts, and thought-provoking commentary that gave us a much richer understanding of the area. His passion for the region was infectious, and he had a unique ability to engage our entire family—whetherit were about the flora and fauna or discussing the impact of colonial trade routes. It was clear that he wasn't just guiding a tour—he was sharing a piece of history with us. Stopping for us to play in the snow was our highlight. If you’re looking for more than just beautiful views and want to walk away feeling inspired and informed, I highly recommend this tour and especially Patrick.

I cannot recommend Major Adventures enough! I reached out to Major Adventures asking them for some advice in helping plan an itinerary for me to visit Lesotho but under some complicated logistics. Donna from the front desk sent me a voice note going over the options available for me and I knew they were the right people to work with! We finalized on a plan and a reasonable price and today I had an incredible Lesotho and Sani Pass tour with them. Their driver and guide Warren was excellent, very good amount of knowledge about Lesotho and its citizens and their customs along with the natural flora and fauna of the country. Very happy that I did the tour with them today.

We had to most wonderful, amazing experience with Allen from Major Adventures. This trip exceeded my expectations and more. Allen was a very cautious, experienced driver, that would put the most anxious passenger at ease. Allen had fast knowledge about the area and the history surrounding the Sani Pass. The trip was filled with nonstop gorgeous views of the mountains. With many stops along the way to take pictures of the breathtaking views. As we entered Lesotho it took as long as a stamp in the passport to get through border control. As it is winter, Lesotho’s mountains were filled with snow. When we reached the highest point in Lesotho at 3240 meters, Allen kindly took our picture in front of the sign. Me and my dad had a short snowball fight. We had the privilege of visiting a village in Lesotho. We learned more about the culture and history of the village and were offered a piece of delicious bread that was baked for us. I bought as well a key chain of the Lesotho flag and a braided bowl, and we had to buy to slices of bread to take home with us to share with the rest of the family. As we returned home down the rocky path which Allen referred to as the African massage with the car driving over the rocks. This was an extraordinary experience that I would highly recommend. And I know that it is something I will be dreaming about for a long time.

We recently went on the Sani Pass Day Trip. Our guide, Patrick was very professional and informative. He drove as carefully as possible with us both up and down Sani Pass. We really enjoyed all the stories and facts he had to share and he was able to answer any additional questions we had. Would definitely recommend this tour to family and friends.

Ellias was the best guide! We did the overnight trip into Lesotho, the views were incredible. I also cannot thank the Major team enough for the incredible vegan options they either made or had arranged for us! Lunch, dinner, and breakfast were all divine!! We felt safe along the Sani pass, the accommodations were very comfortable. We learned and saw so much I truly loved every part of this trip. Thank you also to the local Basotho women for the wonderful bread, beer, and teaching us how to dance and grind wheat.

We had the most incredible experience with Elias from Major Adventures! Elias really is the best tour guide we’ve had. He took us up the Sani Pass, games a picnic in the most picturesque hills and into Lesotho for an overnight stay. We explored, ate, met the local beautiful Basotho ladies and Mapa, a local guide, rode ponies and even attended an initiation ceremony! By the end it we were happily exhausted. Thank you to Elias and the team!

Amazing trip! Our driver was great. It is bumpy but worth it for the views and the culture.

Lovely 9 hole course. Course is in great condition... Nice bar and kitchen... food is country style homemade so its yummy. Affordable and worth a visit. Definitely coming back

It's a nice golf course with nine greens and 18 tee boxes. So the 2nd nine a quite a bit different from the 1st one. The greens could be a bit shorter and quicker. But it was nice to play there. Look at the pictures, beautiful.

Old school country club maintained well and popular under the locals for a round of golf, cricket, swim at the pool or just enjoying the pub life and food that is on offer. Braai facilities available and kids playground as well.

No table service which is a bit odd. Meals were tasty, but not cooked to order, we all ordered steaks; medium was well done and medium rare was medium well

Good atmosphere. Food was ok. But the waiting time is more.

The service was absolutely appalling. The line was out the door to order food with only one cashier who spent half the time talking to her colleagues and couldn’t figure out the card machine whilst all of the other staff stood around not assisting anyone. They never have burgers and informed us they had no chicken pieces either, after ordering other food they then said oh we do have chicken pieces. When going to collect food the lady asked if we had paid even though she gave us our slip after ordering. I am truly disgusted at the service and behaviour of the staff.

Staff was super friendly and helpful. We got some takeaway pizza to enjoy with the lovely views that the Midlands offer. The pizza was really good 😄

They serve the best food. The steak was cooked to perfection. The calamari was tender and the spinach was divine. Always a great spot to eat at anytime of the day

We visited here for a late lunch as we were staying in Himeville. I ordered a spicy burger with a side of chips. It tasted so good, and the flavours blended in really nicely, maybe that's why they took so long to prepare it. It was a nice kick the burger gave. I also ordered a Coke, but a Coke is a Coke wherever you are! We also ordered a pizza for takeaway and it tasted very good, it is just that it had a bit too much sauces for my liking even though we asked for not too much sauce. The views of the mountains looked so surreal and magical as we climbed there the day before! It's a nice, little corner that you can visit if you're staying nearby..

Awesome spot!.. only when you walk in you see how big that place is!! Had a plain burger & chips.. was really good!! They have a pizza oven.. that's next on my list.. and the coffee is amazing!! Definitely going back there...

Absolutely love the Food and setting here.We came the first time and had the T-Bone steak and chips with some wine which was very affordable and saying the meal was amazing would be an understatement,From the moment we walked in,the service and the food everything was absolutely amazing.Came back for a takeaway pizza and it was nothing short of Amazing with generous portions definitely worth the price.We definitely will be visiting again

Can't say anything negative. Great & chill atmosphere, lovely staff and tasty affordable food! We were 3 days in Underberg and had dinner in The Grind Cafe 3 times in a row.🤭

Had chicken and it came out tender but the lemon sauce was not tasty. Also had chicken and prawn curry and the chef forgot to put prawns in so the brought the prawns out separately and just left it there. Not mixed or cooked in the curry, just cooked prawns with nothing on them on the side.
