Altinkum Beach

4.4
(25213)
Altinkum Beach is a well-liked tourist destination with a long, sandy shoreline that is ideal for swimming. The beach is accompanied by a lively promenade filled with various restaurants and bars. Visitors can relax on the clean, public beach while enjoying water sports like jet skiing and banana boat rides or opt to go on boat trips for the day. In addition, Altinkum Beach boasts unspoilt scenery and plenty of options for dining, shopping, and entertainment all at reasonable prices.
I always love to walk barefoot on the soft golden sand in the summer and colder months. Sometimes in winter I paddle a while in the sea. The view is amazing when it's a clear day and at night it's beautiful with the coloured lights shining on the ocean. Swimming is very safe for everyone, children, non-swimmers as well as beginners. There's even an area specialy created for disabled beach goers. Plenty of restaurants nearby and WC facitities on the beach in summer as well as Sea Sports. 🏖☀️🏊🏄‍♀️🤽‍♀️

Pretty place with a lot of restaurants, pubs and tattoo parlors. Very fun place. People are walking, playing with their dogs, swimming and having fun. Good place to chill, eat and have fun.
Derya D — Google review
Quite busy, sandy and shallow though, great for swimming. Some litter. Loads of cafes, shops, some public toilets, showers/ taps for cleaning off sand. Boat trips and inflatables for hire. Loads of loungers and parasols to rent.
Musselbed — Google review
An excellent beachfront, absolutely huge so you can find somewhere to rest and relax, they even have access accessible ramps and toilets. There is a wonderful long promenade for you to roll and stroll along, plenty of bench style seating, literally hundreds of restaurants bars, shops and clubs for you to choose from. Whatever you are into, I assure you, you can find it here!
Paul H — Google review
One of the best and most-liked beaches in Turkey. Affordable with 35TL (2022) for two long chairs plus umbrella as one of the businesses is run by the local municipality. The bottom is mostly fine sand, dotted by some rock and seaweed. Good for families with children and couples but try to come early as the place is very popular and can be overcrowded in the afternoon. Water is mostly clean in the morning but gets choppy and murky as more people join. As a quick hint: Bring your own chair and portable low table to the western end (right end if you are facing the sea) of the beach and enjoy the evening calm and coolness. You do not see the sunset but as the crowds disappear the water is incredibly beautiful. Swim as much as you like as it slowly gets darker. The place is safe and peaceful. There are other nearby beaches but with the exception of one, all are either rocky, littered or too isolated. This one is metres away from the restaurants. Visit at the right time and see for yourself.

very lively beach, soft sand and the promanade is bustling with shops bars and restaurants
MATHEW H — Google review
Altinkum Beach in Didim truly lives up to its name. The sand is fine, golden, and the sea is almost glass-like in its clarity. Due to its shallow nature, the beach is highly suitable for families with children, and even non-swimmers can easily enter the water. It's quieter in the mornings, out even as it gets a bit crowded in the afternoons, the atmosphere remains pleasant and vibrant. Strolling along the beach, enjoying an ice cream, or sitting in one of the seaside cafes was all a lovely experience. In the evenings, the beach strip becomes a lively, bustling place. Watching the sunset was a perfect moment of tranquility.

Amusement park
Kurt Lunapark is a vibrant amusement park located in the heart of the city. It offers a wide range of thrilling rides and attractions for visitors of all ages. The park features exciting roller coasters, spinning teacup rides, and a colorful carousel. In addition to the adrenaline-pumping activities, Kurt Lunapark also has various food stalls offering delicious snacks and refreshing beverages.
Nice place for family. You can buy some snacks, drinks there. Not so big place, but enough to have fun.
Crazy M — Google review
We loved it. The most scary attractions are for 13 yr and up. Make sure to check the “zero-gravity” one - you are in a centrifuge get stuck to the wall when the floor goes down. If you open your mouth - you can’t get it shut. Not for people who are claustrophobic or have medical conditions though… one ride on any one of the attractions is 150 TRY, can be paid with a card, or 10 rides for 1,200 TRY. Best visited when it’s dark.
Yasha — Google review
I Got charged double (paid on my card and paid cash). Cashier didn't inform me that payment had been taken from my card and in the end I paid cash for more tokens. Be careful when paying with card.
Riaz L — Google review
The rides are poorly maintained, and the staff are extremely unfriendly—almost like they're looking for a fight. They show favoritism and operate the rides however they like. Last time on the gondola ride, it didn’t even last two minutes—just went up and down four times and stopped. The operator was even laughing about it. I strongly advise against going, and I’m telling all my tourist and foreign friends the same: do not come here. People like this shouldn't be making money. There's absolutely no sense of safety, and if anything goes wrong, the staff might even pose a danger to you.
Phoenix — Google review
Generally good. Some rides after sunset get fairly busy. Prices this year felt quite dear at 100TL per ride.

Amazing Lunapark walking distance from my resort. There are attractions for everyone, starting from small kids to adults. Nice and friendly environment. Highly recommend to visit at least once Kurt Lunapark

Went for a walk down there from our hotel park was small friendly rides reasonable with a couple of rides for elder kids and some for smaller kids just outside of the town worth a visit pass a hr

Ideal evening fun for tourist families. Lots of tame rides and activities for little ones and a few scary rides for the daring. Stunning views along the coast if you visit while there's still some daylight.

Didyma

4.7
(1998)
Historical place
Museum
Didyma is an ancient Greek temple complex located in the northwest side of Didim, on the Aegean coast in the Aydn Province. It was once a significant sanctuary with a temple and oracle of Apollo. The ruins of the Temple of Apollo and other ancient cities can be explored here, offering a glimpse into history. The impressive scale and safety of the temple make it a must-visit attraction for those interested in ancient architecture.
Didyma, the ancient city nestled along Turkiye's scenic Aegean coast, is a breathtaking site that every history lover should experience. This incredible destination, famed for its ancient Temple of Apollo, is not only a wonder of Turkish heritage but also a treasure of global importance. Walking through the ruins feels like stepping back in time. The Temple of Apollo, one of the most impressive remnants of ancient Greek architecture, is awe-inspiring with its towering columns and intricate carvings that have withstood millennia. As you gaze up at these colossal pillars, you can almost feel the presence of ancient civilizations who once gathered here, seeking oracles and marveling at the grandeur of their surroundings. The energy of Didyma is palpable and humbling. It's a place where myth and history converge, as Didyma was one of the most significant centers of prophecy in the ancient world, second only to Delphi. This adds an almost mystical quality to the experience, making you feel connected to the world’s ancient cultures. The site is also an archaeologist’s dream. Ongoing research and preservation efforts mean that every visit offers something new to discover, whether it’s a hidden relief, a new artifact, or deeper insights into ancient rituals. The importance of Didyma reaches beyond Turkiye, reminding us of the global interconnectedness of ancient civilizations and their shared legacies. The city's proximity to other ancient landmarks makes it easy to include in a cultural tour, and the peaceful surroundings allow visitors to explore at a relaxed pace. If you're planning a trip to Turkiye, Didyma is a must-visit, not just for its beauty but for its profound historical significance. A true gem of world heritage!
Sermin S — Google review
This ancient Greek temple remains are beautiful, the way the weathered column bases have worn down over time looks amazing. I didn't go in but walked around the outside but could still see most of it. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area!
Emmanuel H — Google review
On out way back from put holiday in Bodrum we decided to visit some historic place and googled a few options, not really knowing what to expect. We had already seen all the really well-known ones such as Ephesos, Aspendos, Troy, Pergamon etc. So we didn’t really have high expectations. What was my surprise when after driving basically to the end of town, amongst small houses, where the roads were kind of narrow we saw this beauty. It was magnificent from the first second and we couldn’t have been more in awe. It is an absolute gem, very well preserved and definitely worth visiting. One of the most important Apollo-Temples in the world, in the Antiquity it used to be visited by various people before they had to make an important decision. The architecture is impressive, the columns are symmetrically built. As we were visiting there was an event being prepared. Couldn’t think of a more beautiful location. Absolutely recommend visiting it.
Janny E — Google review
One of the most impressive ancient Greek temples - the temple of Apollo in Didyma, impresses with its safety and its scale! Highly recommend to visit it if you are going to stay for vacation somewhere nearby. Convenient access, located in the historical center of the city, there are many cafes nearby with a view of the temple. Entrance fee is 50TL. Parking right near the temple is very difficult, so I recommend to park a car in a special parking for tourists about 200m far from the temple.

Didyma history Hidden among rolling hills only a few miles from the scenic coast of southeastern Turkey, the ancient site of Didyma is famous from legendary times. Here was a natural spring where the beautiful Leto is supposed to have spent an hour of love with Zeus, then giving birth to the twins Artemis and Apollo (didymoi in Greek). The most important oracle site in Asia Minor, its pronouncements to Croesus, Alexander the Great and other great kings altered the course of human history. Didyma was originally a pre-Greek cult sanctuary centered around a sacred grove and holy spring. The remains of the earliest temples, which lie within and beneath the later buildings, have been dated to the 8th and 7th centuries BC. These consist of a walled enclosure measuring approximately 24 x 10 m, an open-air sanctuary, a portico 16 m in length, a sacred well and a votive altar. By the 7th century BC, the Ionian Greeks had adopted the site, dedicated it to the worship of Apollo, and the fame of its oracle had spread across the eastern Mediterranean and into Egypt. The earliest temple of Apollo at the site was an unroofed Ionic building enclosing the sacred spring, laurel trees and a small inner temple. These structures were completed about 560-550 BC when the site was in charge of a family of priests known as the Branchids, the descendants of Bronchos, a youth beloved of Apollo. The cult statue in the Didyma temple dated from 500 BC, was made of bronze and depicted Apollo Philesios seizing a deer. The temple was located approximately 10 kilometers south of the city of Miletus, inland from the small port of Panormos. In the Archaic period, when the first temple of Apollo was constructed, a Sacred Way, lined with sculptures, sarcophagi and statues of lions and sphinxes, led from Panormos to the sanctuary. Pilgrims arriving by sea would disembark at the port of Panormos and walk the Sacred Way to the oracle of Apollo. The Persians destroyed a second and larger temple at the same site in 494 BC. while it was still under construction. Little is known about activities at Didyma during the 5th and 4th centuries BC. and it seems to have suffered a decline. After his capture of the city of Miletus in 334 BC, Alexander the Great placed the administration of the oracle in the hands of the city. The sanctuary of the oracle was revived in 331 BC when the sacred spring was rediscovered on the occasion of a visit from Alexander (during which time the oracle proclaimed him “the son of Zeus”). In the following decades Seleucus embellished the sanctuary and commissioned the new Hellenistic Temple of Apollo (about 300 BC the cult statue of Apollo that had been stolen by the Persians was returned to Didyma). The sanctuary grew in fame, attracting thousands of pilgrims from throughout the Hellenistic world, and work on the temple continued for the next 200 years. This temple, measuring 51 by 110 meters, was the third largest structure of the Greek world, being exceeded in size only by those at Ephesus and Samos. Although the Hellenistic Didymaion was of greater dimensions than the archaic temple, it was merely an adaptation of the original plan. The massive temple had a total of 124 columns (many of which were never erected) and was embellished with the most wonderful sculptures of Greek artistry. One particularly enormous column weighs 70 tons. In 278 BC the sanctuary suffered under the raids of Gauls, but construction work on the temple was resumed. In 70 BC pirates sacked the sanctuary and work on the temple was terminated. The

The site is relatively small, but rich with ruins. When we visited there has been some construction work on going, nevertheless you can wonder around the site. The site has two door ways with long long ancient looby, with inscriptions all along the walls and wonderful marbled floor that lead to an open space. Visiting the whole site will not take more than 15 minutes including taking some photos.

It's a really magnificent place. It's charming and you can feel the history. It's in a region of Didim where you can see the real Turkish atmosphere away from the resort. It's actually really hot so be ready for that. Outside there are real coffee places which I absolutely needed 😂 the entrance fee is 15 liras. I liked it more than Ephesus.

Ancient Ruins
The Temple of Apollo in Didim is a significant historical site, once home to an important oracle and a major center of worship for the ancient Greeks. The temple's impressive ruins showcase its former grandeur, with towering columns and bases that hint at its colossal size. Visitors can explore the site and immerse themselves in its rich history, imagining the craftsmanship and dedication that went into building it centuries ago.
The Temple of Apollo at Didyma (now in Turkey) was one of the largest and most influential oracular centers in the ancient Greek world. It is recognized as the second most important oracle, after the Temple of Apollo at Delphi (Greece). Both sites were sacred places, attracting thousands of people seeking prophecies from the god Apollo The sacred spring, as described in ancient oracular activities, no longer exists as a naturally flowing stream. What remains are the archaeological traces of where that sacred spring once was, and it's a crucial part of understanding the temple's operations. The temple was never completed. Now, whenever you visit the temple, you'll always find a few archaeologists from around the world conducting field investigations.
Thuong N — Google review
The site is closed indeed, as they are actively building a new entrance pavilion (I have seen no restoration being done on the site itself). Still you can get a good view from behind the fence and you can also walk around the temple behind the fence - there is a paved path, getting views from several angles - it still gives an unforgettable grandeur impression. The security cameras on the perimeter make sure nobody scales the fence. The temple is so massive it’s surprising it has suffered such severe damage, but apparently a powerful earthquake has destroyed it in 7th century A.D.
Yasha — Google review
I visited the Temple of Apollo in early September on a weekday, and it was a great, with hardly any other tourists. The quiet made it easy to take in the atmosphere. We skipped the headphone guide since there are plenty of well-written boards around the site. You’re free to walk right up the temple steps and wander around at your own pace, which I loved. The inner sanctum, where the oracle once spoke, still carries a strong presence. The acoustics there are striking; even a soft voice carries. If you’re after an authentic ancient site that hasn’t been overrun by crowds, this is a place I’d highly recommend. It feels both accessible and special.

Beautiful ruins. Little tip... Admission is only 6 euros per person so save yourself some money and dont buy a tour. It a 12 minute walk off the No.4 bus route. The same bus will take you to the Mavisehir Market. The bus is 25 lira each which is a bargain but it can get very very crammed.

It is a very very great historical place and it is in quite good situation and well preserved… Definitely recommend to visit it… We visited the Temple of Apollo and it was really really great due to the fact first of all that the facade lightings were very lovely and second it was marvellous to run away from day heat so by the evening visit you really can enjoy the the site in a more different way because the evening hours provides more cooler temperature and on the other hand it has also less crowded environment…

The Temple of Apollo in Didim is an absolute gem! From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by the awe-inspiring ruins. It wasn’t just a temple; it was home to one of the most famous oracles of the ancient Greek world, second only to Delphi. Pilgrims from across the Mediterranean traveled there to consult the oracle, making it a major spiritual and cultural hub. You should definitely visit this historical place.

Manastır Koyu, also known as Cennet Koy Plaji, is a serene ocean retreat with gentle bay waters and a wide sandy beach. Named after an ancient monastery, it offers warm, clear and shallow waters perfect for families with children. The fine white sand beach provides a beautiful setting for relaxation. This easygoing destination features lounge chair and umbrella rentals, a cafe serving simple but satisfying refreshments, and various activities to enjoy.
Super nice beach and sea. The water got great colors.Good prices and relaxed mood.

Actually the beach wasn’t so clean, maybe that’s because of the strong wind. Nevertheless the sea is great, it really doesn’t get deep for a very long distance, it is little rocky but that doesn’t bother, it is mostly sandy. We paid 60 TL for two places. My 3 yo baby didn’t like it )) but I was impressed with this place. Not as crowds as Altynkun

Really good beach, right side where the rocks are is populated with sea urchins. It's not deep even you go further away. It is a bit crowded at 3-4 o'clock but nearly everyone leaves at 5-6 o'clock so you can enjoy an empty sea. I suggest bringing your own food because the little cafe is a bit pricey (a sandwich with cheese is 40 TL or a bit more than 2 dolars). Btw you have to pay for the umbrella and 2 seats, the price for them is 60 TL (little more than 3 dolars). Other than that it is really good.

The mostly sandy beach is managed and with its shallow water well suited for families with children. Not very scenic, usually quite crowded, easy to reach by car.

A nice bay, out of the way from the crowded beach of Altinkum in Didim. You need a taxi ride or a car to get here. The water is nice and the beach is sandy. However, some parts of the beach is rocky as you go into the water. They have one cafe on one side of the bay/beach.

Had two wonderful meals here. In fact this was definitely my favourite place for food. First time I had fillet steak. I'm fussy with my steak but this was cooked to perfection. Second time I went I ordered chicken shish kebab. Again another lovely meal and very tasty. The staff are very welcoming and can't do enough for you. I would recommend anyone try this place if they are looking for a nice meal on Altinkum front.

Have been coming here for over 20 years. The best restaurant in Altinkum, food is amazing. The staff are very friendly, they will help you if you need anything. Never any hassle from them ti try and get you in the restaurant. Will come back for the next 20 years!

Very friendly staff and professional. It's a little pricey but expected for the location. I would definitely be going again before returning back home. They don't drag you from the street and force you to buy something unlike many others on that road. If you're from the UK I would recommend the Adana and lamb şiş. The chicken was great however the lamb was better than back home. When it comes to the Adana, OMG. I have it in London quite often but the flavour was so much better. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice meal with their family

Very welcoming from a smart dressed waiter in trousers and shirt (not looking like he's going to be dancing on the tables within the hour , you know what I mean) excellent chicken fajitas with homemade cheesecake, if you want wall to wall football while eating this isn't for you, there was a TV with football highlights on but the music created the atmosphere not the sport .. nice decor would definitely visit again..

If you're on the lookout for a delightful dining experience in Didim, look no further than Family Door Restoran. This charming eatery truly embodies a homey atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for families and friends alike. The restaurant specializes in traditional Turkish cuisine, serving up dishes crafted from cherished recipes that reflect the essence of authentic home cooking. Guests rave about the attentive service and cleanliness of the establishment, which is complemented by stunning sea views that enhance your meal.
Hands down the best restaurant I visited during both trips to Altinkum. The service was impeccable, and the staff were so friendly, thoughtful, welcoming and ready to help with any reccommendations. All of the food was immaculate, delicious, fresh and perfectly seasoned. I would highly suggest the Tomahawk steak if you are a fan of meat, enjoy having food cooked right in front of you and want to have one of the best steaks in the town! It was divine!! Prices were super reasonable too, especially for such a beautiful meal! For 3 people (2 adults, 1 child) to have starters, mains (including most expensive steak on the menu) multiple soft drinks - the entire bill came to around £75.

Mavi Kitchen & Bar is a delightful spot in Didim that has captured the hearts of both locals and travelers alike. Renowned for its exceptional food, warm hospitality, and inviting ambiance, this establishment is perfect for those looking to unwind by the pool during summer days or enjoy a lively dinner with live entertainment in the evenings. The owners and staff are known for their excellent English skills, making it an easy choice for international visitors.
This is a gem of a place in Didim, the food and drinks are top quality and you always get a warm welcome from Yusef and his family who look after you so well. The all round customer service is superb particularly from Jamal who is always so friendly. Highly recommended establishment and well worth a visit

I only stayed here briefly for 1 night on my drive to Antalya. The room was beautiful, and the hotel had a nice pool. The on site restaurant was very good. The server, Doga (not sure how to spell his name) gave excellent food recommendations. Although I wasn't here very long, the service was very generous and welcoming, and I can see this would be a great family vacation spot.

We chose this to be close to the Temple of Apollo ruins, and it is 4 min away by car. Nice pool and adequate restaurant. The facilities and our room need help. No wheelchair ramp to the rooms and pool. Our toilet ran constantly (a cheap thing to fix) and weak AC - it took 3 hours for our room to cool down and there is no way to keep the AC on while you are out, so ANOTHER 3 hrs when you return. Not recommended.

This place is highly recommended by myself and many others, since we return time and time again. The food, staff, service and actual place are super great. In the summer season it's a very popular place, even for locals, to spend the whole day around the pool and evening for dinner and live entertainment. The owners and some staff speak English very well so that helps many foreigners. Even locals enjoy staying in their rooms for a few days due to the service and value they receive. Although it's not so close to the beach there's a sea view from here and amazing sunsets!! 🥰👌

Nestled in a cozy corner, Çamlık Mangal is a delightful restaurant that specializes in mouthwatering BBQ dishes and traditional Turkish soups. Known for its inviting atmosphere, this eatery has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. The standout offerings include Kellepaca (head and foot) and Iskembe (tripe), both of which are slow-cooked to perfection, allowing the flavors to meld beautifully.
Çamlık mangal is a friendly, relaxed restaurant specialising in BBQ food & traditional Turkish soups including Kellepaça (Head & foot) and İşkembe (Tripe). A restaurant we happily return to again and again. The soups have been recommended to me several times by a number of friends and even for the most avid soup fan they will not disappoint, the meat cooked very slowly in its own juices. Should you wish you can eat the soups all day and if you're looking for a hangover cure this is the place to discover it. The bbq grilled meat is everything I could ask for. Tender, tasty, expertly cooked and served along flatbreads, tomatoes, sumac infused onions and chillies. My son loves their meatballs (köfte) & chips and so do we. The mezes selection varies based on the season and too full of taste. This last meal we enjoyed, purslane in yoghurt (yoğutlı semizotu) cucumber with yoghurt, (cacik) borlotti beans (barbunya pilaki) & char grilled aubergine salad (patlıcan salatası). The menu us in Turkish but easily tranlsatable especially as the staff speak English. Highly recommended place to eat.

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Mavişehir Market, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Pamukkale Tourism. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Flea & Street Markets
Mavişehir Market, located on the outskirts of Didim, is an evening market open from May to September. Visitors can easily reach it by bus or taxi. The market offers a variety of goods including food, clothing, and household items. It's known for its relaxed atmosphere where visitors can stroll around without feeling pressured to make purchases. The market is particularly popular in the evening when the weather is cooler and less crowded than during the day.
Great prices on replica shirts (if you're prepared to haggle). Linen, footwear, and handbags etc. Fresh seasonal produce and deli products are fantastic. There are little cafes too (not restaurants) used by locals for that genuine Turkish snack.

Been a few times before. In my opinion, now there are too many T-Shirt, sweat tops, Sports clothes, Shorts, Jeans, Trainers, and not enough hand crafted items. Some nice bags, crystals, stones and jewellery, but was surprised not one salt lamp did I see. Last year there were at least 3 stalls but the other day there were none and that was what I went there for. Very disappointed. 😒 Visited again on 16/5/24 in the evening. Wasn't busy. I was looking for a particular kind of bag which I found for a reasonable price. One particular bag store offered me a price of 1,000 lira more for the same bag in another store. Needeless to say, I didn't purchase it. There wasn't anyone hassling me, all was good even though there were very few shoppers which is why I prefer buying at this Bazaar. 👍🏻😊
Travelz L — Google review
Be aware market is not fully opened until May. We were in Didim in April and there were roughly 10 stalls opened clothes only. Unfortunately neither taxi drivers or resort reception were able to let us know that this is a case. Based on that not a great experience; stall owners were friendly.
Marcin M — Google review
Last 2 shops at the end clothes shops as you walk in from the main entrance as it bends to the left. are racist thought I didn’t understand what was said after asking me about my culture, please be careful -and don’t take with it as it’s unacceptable. I was with my family
ATTER U — Google review
There are much bigger and better fruits and vegetable markets in Didim. And the sellers attitude is horrible. You want to gave back a watermelon because it was not good, they want to give half of your money back not full 🙄
Burcin P — Google review
We used the evening market as its cooler and not as busy as daytime got there around six,the veg is cheap n fresh and the traders like to haggle, short walk 2 mins to the waterfront to watch the sunset and a bite to eat finishs a great evening out

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Didim, Golden Dragon Restaurant is a delightful escape for those craving an authentic Asian dining experience. This gem specializes in Chinese and Thai cuisine, offering a diverse menu that features beloved classics such as sweet and sour chicken, kung pao shrimp, and Szechuan beef. Each dish is crafted to deliver genuine flavors from the Far East, making it a must-visit for food enthusiasts.
We were looking for a Chinese restaurant ever since we moved to Didim. Golden Dragon has Chinese, Indian and International cuisines. We tried steamed dumplings, rolls, noodles, sweet&sour chicken, California sushi, fried rice with beef, chicken and shrimp and chef’s special beef. Best was sweet&sour chicken. Sushi was a bit dry but food was good overall. The staff is very polite and good humored. Most of the customers were foreigners. The prices are really good and affordable. The parking is a problem but busses go right next to it and they have a taxi station right across.

Their sushi was the worst we ever had in our life. Mochitto was quite good. They should remove positions from the menu which they don't know how to properly make as manu was Indian and Asian food, but I don't think that they have an itamae.

Great little place, been here twice now, food is tasty, albeit, very expensive for the small portions (rice, noodles) they serve compared to UK, the small bowl servings of rice and noodles are not enough to fill one adult. Manager is friendly and staff are very polite, will be coming again, but chef needs to plate up bigger portions of carbs to fill everyone up!

Pamukkale, also known as the "cotton castle," is a must-see destination in Turkey. The white calcium pools cascading down the hillside are a breathtaking sight and worth the journey inland. Visitors can relax in the thermal pools and explore Hierapolis while enjoying stunning views. Tour packages often include amenities like lunch and convenient access to the site, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking a unique and memorable experience.
I traveled with a small group of others to Pamukkale & Hierapolis from Didim in June with a Travel Agent called Avesta Travel. I had a fabulous time there relaxing in the thermal pools and took loads of photos & videos. Lunch was included in the Tour and wasn't expecting 3 courses. It was amazing! We drove up to the car park at the top entrance and we didn't have to que up to enter. I'd love to go again next year and recommend it to those who are looking for Holiday Tours.

After 5:00 PM, no tea is served so that customers don’t linger and free up space for the next guests. The service is extremely poor. The staff just stand around playing on their phones. The food is okay slightly better than average but unfortunately the portions are very small. There were three of us. My father received his meal, but I didn’t get mine until he had already finished eating. As for the service, we were often ignored. The prices are high, and a tip is simply added to the bill without asking. Our table was cleared without a word, and I had to finish my dinner without a knife. We couldn’t even order drinks because the menus were taken away immediately no one even asked if we wanted something to drink. Just because the staff are under pressure doesn’t mean they should ignore their guests like this. We didn’t even receive wet wipes after the meal. Overall, I can say the food was okay, but I’d rather spend my money at a fast-food restaurant. I’d get more for the same amount and it would actually taste better too.

I decided to have a sit here when they let me use their bathroom. We ate delicious food here. We ordered pide (pita); one with minced meat, one with kashar and one with cubed meat, some sauted chicken with mushrooms and some bulgur on top of it some chickpeas of course. You can find a wide range of slops, several kind of kebabs, pide and lahmacun. They were all quite tasty but I must say that pide portions were a bit small. So you may not feel full after eating so if you eat too much I recommend you to order 1.5 portions of them. Service and attendants are kind and helpful. Some beautiful decorations are needed inside and tables are too close to each other.

We were welcomed with a nice touch of salad and dips as starters, which I appreciated. For my main, I ordered the lamb shish, served with rice and bread, and also tried the lahmacun. Everything was freshly prepared, which was great, but I personally felt that the taste and quality of the meat could have been better. Overall, it was a decent experience, but with a little improvement in flavor, it could be excellent.

+ Good food. + Very affordable prices. - Staf uninterested. Although we visited the restaurant over the years sometimes several times a week, the bearded stafmember never recognized, welcomed us or said thank you and goodbye. Rest of staf changes almost on monthly base. We just came for the food, but we decided not to go anymore because it bothered us more and more.

Cool place! Optimal value for money, liked their burgers (though cutlet was a bit dry, everything else was great!). Perfect location with spectacular Altinkum Beach view.

Pretty nice atmosphere with great pizzas on traditional Turkish lavash bread! Prices are reasonable, dishes are delicious and the staff is quite kind and hospitable! If you are hanging around Didim and not sure where to have a dinner or some pints, just give it a try and you will not be disappointed!

Worst experience ever. The waiters haven’t any idea of how to treat customers. They are rude and don’t care about giving a good service.

Yasins is one of our locals. Always great for entertainment. Took out grandchildren to the children's party games night. None stop entertainment for them. Thanks to Frankie. They throughly enjoyed it so much that asked to go the following week which we promptly booked. We ourselves have seen the bands there which have been good. Well worth a visit.

Food is “Mums been to Iceland” style. However, the atmosphere is brilliant, always something on. Beer is good. Service is good. Shame about the cat pissing in the corner 🤮
Ed L — Google review
Pub atmosphere. Lively music. The Sunday lunch was excellent, reported my friends, except for the supposed apple crumble, which took 30 minutes after the meal to arrive, and was disgusting with hardly any apple. The "Chinese" sweet and sour chicken I had, disappointed. It was a slab of chicken breast with sweet and sour sauce and 3 cubes of pineapple. Service was SOOO slow and waitstaff hardly ever looked our way. They had plenty of time to chat among themselves, though. Overall, if you want British Sunday Lunch in a pub atmosphere, this place is just fine. Otherwise, steer clear of it!

This restaurant is now known as Yas Inn. My first visit and will definetly be going again. My choice of food was fabulous and it has a substantial menu. We also had live music and that was fabulous great performer. Well done to this restaurant and bar the tables were all full so it would be a good idea to book first. A lovely place to visit setting excellent and chairs very comfortable to eat or drink.

Day 3

Off the beaten path
For day 3, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Didim marina. Not quite as popular as Temple of Apollo, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 8 hours.

Marina
Didim Marina, located near the third beach area, has put Altinkum on the international map and led to a rise in property prices. It is a popular spot for locals and expats to spend their afternoons. The marina offers serene and chilled surroundings with a gorgeous beach, warm sea, and daily boat trips. Visitors can enjoy excellent facilities such as a pool, gym, spa, sauna, tennis courts at reasonable prices.
Lovely marina we ate at the Key-f which was brilliant

We went to bodrum with ferry.Everything is good but toilets are disgusting and the flush is broken 🤢 They need to check and clean them!!!

D-Marin Didim Marina which named in this review as Didim Marina is a well-equipped can say marina facility with marina shopping mall (, super market, shops, restaurants, barber, beauty center, apparel and shoes etc…) marina hotel, marina beach, fuelling, berthing, boat services etc… You can easily find all your needs in here without going to Didim… We usually visit Didim Marina for Macrocenter’s groceries; vegetables/fruits i.e. papaya, mango, passion fruit etc. because its difficult to find them in other places and for Marina Beach Club, Onyx, Marina Hotel’s pool, Marina Fitness Club, Upstairs Restaurant etc… It is really a gem to have a such Marina with good facility options in Didim… Hotel staff can be moody when you come to use the facilities by daily paying as it seems like they do not want any quests from outside rather than sailors etc…

Gorgeous, serene and chilled. Perfect to spend the day here, cost like £5 for towel and bed for the day. The pool is cold but refreshing. Prices are quite high but it is a nice resort so that would be expected. Service is great and responsive. Bar Food is also delicious. In all, A lovely day out

Mocha Beach Club is the perfect getaway for those seeking a blend of relaxation and fun by the sea. For a modest entry fee, guests can enjoy an array of fantastic amenities including shaded decking areas, showers, and changing rooms. The attentive waitstaff are on hand to serve delicious food and refreshing drinks right to your sunbed, enhancing your beach day experience.
A perfect break after a heavy week, perfect location, countless sea sports (diving, jet-ski, snorkeling and surfing) you may be a guest at the hotel or coming from outside, staff are very friendly.

Very clear water, and very nice place to bath. Funny with the fishes. Not to loud music. Okenos diving is located next to mocha beach if you would like to try scuba diving 🤿 Entrance cost 300TL. Expensive soft drinks, 50TL for a Ice tea on a can.
Fredrik E — Google review
Beğendim, i like it, nice staff, friendly and cosy place for swimming eating rest, i recommend it
Duygu O — Google review
Overpriced for limited service. Place has potential with its view but is not attractive with current fee policy of 250 TL per person and only one "menu": 1 hamburger, 2 sodas, 1 beer. That s all. No carte from which you can choose how to consume your 250 TL. For 250 TL outside I can eat and drink much more. This makes the price per seat / longchair very expensive for an old infrastructure.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful location with a lovely view and comfortable cabanas. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately, the food is disappointing: small portions and little flavor. Furthermore, the prices are exorbitant (€22 for a cocktail, €10 for a beer, €5 for an espresso). It's a nice experience, but not good value for money.

(Translated by Google) It was wonderful. Lying down for two inside the pergolas, the freedom to take in the sun or lie in the shade whenever you wanted, and the tranquility felt so good. Since we didn't make a reservation, we were next to the speaker; it was a bit loud, and there was a lot of wind, but nothing spoiled our enjoyment. Food and drink prices were expensive (a bag of chips was 300₺, because they're priced in Euros???), but there was a 20% discount. The staff were very helpful and nice. I will go again.

(Translated by Google) Updated for 2025: 800 TL per person on weekdays and 1000 TL on weekends. Water is provided free of charge upon arrival. Showers, sinks, and a restaurant area are now also available, and the entrance has been newly constructed. Parking is 100 TL per day on the third bay side. I have two humble suggestions: the wooden sun loungers need maintenance, and those who aren't good swimmers should definitely bring water shoes. There are rocks and rocks between them. Thanks again to the business for their service. The business has changed its name to Mocha Beach Club. For 2020, admission is 70 TL during busy times like holidays and 50 TL during normal times. You can leave your car at the municipal parking lot at the entrance of the third beach for 10 TL and access the beach via the wooden path. It's not too crowded, and most importantly, it's located within a designated Blue Flag area, making it an excellent swimming area. If you're coming for a few days, this is definitely the place to choose just for the swim. You don't need to go anywhere else. The showers are warm and there are snacks available. The price is slightly above average.

I have trust issues with any form of trips on holiday due to a bad experience abroad. The safari quad bike tour was such a great experience with IMX. Really exceeded my expectations and they were really friendly. Good price too - £35 each for a quad bike for approx 2 hours (5% charge when using card to pay but worth it if you’re low on actual cash). I had so much fun and they even took us to a little beach which had lovely wee shells too. You go a variety of different speeds over different terrain and see gorgeous landscapes. They even drop you off and pick you up - pick up was in a roofless jeep which was class in the sun! Would recommend. Thanks so much.
Kirsty W — Google review
Horse riding was really bad. Each person has played 45 euros and only 2 hours of walking on the horse. The guide was not even on a horse himself. Never the intention to really ride.

Siesta Boat Trip Altinkum Didim offers a fantastic 6-hour boat trip with exceptional service and great value for money. The crew, led by Gabi and her husband, ensures a welcoming atmosphere without being intrusive. Guests can enjoy a choice of shady sunbeds or bask in the sun while being served snacks, drinks, and a faultless lunch. The boat stops at 5 bays for swimming opportunities with provided flippers and life vests.
I cannot speak highly enough of Gabi and Eyup’s Siesta boat trip. This particular trip was for my sister’s 50th and Gabi and crew mate Sky were wonderful. A stunning cake was provided by Gabi after a lovely lunch. The whole family enjoyed the day trip and have great memories. My previous trips (day and sunset) have all been just as fabulous. Good value for a full day with lunch and very reasonable drinks and food list. I will continue to frequent Siesta boat trip for a long time coming.

Excellent boat trip with an attentive crew to make your experience on their boat one to remember. The food is the best. Drinks are available with very good cocktails within the menu. The daytime trip consists of 5 stops with plenty of time to swim around the bays in the cooling sea. The sunset cruise is 3 hours stopping at 3 bays with time to swim and enjoy the sights with a meal included also. Siesta chill out boat is the best for relaxing - not to be missed while holidaying in the area.

Truly excellent from start to Finish 100% fabulous 😌

Absolutely an amazing boat trip. I’ve been going on the Siesta since they first started sailing. Very friendly crew and great food for lunch. AMAZING drinks prices. You won’t find a better chill out boat at the harbour like the Siesta, everyone is do friendly and you really don’t feel judged at all. Went on it twice while I was there in June. Love it, Ayup & Gabi are amazing 🥰🥰

I have been using Siesta for over 10 years now and I cannot recommend Eyüp, Gabj and the team highly enough. Fantastic value for money, nothing is ever too much trouble for any of the staff, you are really looked after from the moment you step on the boat to the moment you leave, drink prices are very reasonable and the food is always lovely. I look forward to many, many more boat trips in the future
Nicola L — Google review
Have been on several boat trips over the years and always go on Siesta. Very friendly owners and staff, great value for money and the most relaxing day. Food great, big portions and drinks are a great price. A day out for £15 inc lunch, great hospitality and attentive staff, you can’t not go.

An absolutely Fabulous day out! The crew are brilliant and can’t do enough for you! Gabby and her husband work tirelessly throughout the season to make sure we have a great time on their Boat, I must of been going on it the last 15 years 😁 won’t go on any other boat now. Really can’t rate it highly enough. A day out with lunch for under £20 couldn’t do that in the UK. If you haven’t tried it yet then I urge you to do so, No loud banging music just brill tunes and a fantastic chilled out day! Bloody Love it! ❤️❤️❤️

The menu features traditional Turkish dishes like kebabs and mezes, as well as an assortment of seafood options due to its coastal location. Situated along the shores of Didim, diners can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Aegean Sea while savoring their meals. Visitors have praised the restaurant for its exceptional service, lively atmosphere, and delicious food.
Absolutely great place, all of the staff were absolutely amazing. This restaurant offers transportation from/back to local hotels which is an added bonus. Once there the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was very good at a price well worth paying for the quality! The entertainment when i was there was a real life dancing transformer (!) followed by a magic act that were very good. My only complaint is that my son got too tired and I had to leave early!! Great place, highly recommend 👍🏻

Great restaurant with friendly staff, lively vibes, and good food. We were staying at an all inclusive hotel which was fabulous but its nice to get out as well so we came here twice. Beautiful fillet steaks and butter prawns. Then chocolate fondant which was yummy! Our grandson and friends son had food off the kids menu which looked great. They loved the atmosphere, suitable for all ages, we danced lots and entertainment was good too. All round venue to suit everyone of any age. Nice setting too, right opposite the beach.

Fantastic service from Ergun and his team. Firstly he helped my little boy by picking us up this morning from our hotel and took us to a pharmacy to get what we needed at no cost what so ever. We then went for a meal to his amazing restaurant this evening. Him and his staff were very attentive and the food was amazing. Picked us up from our hotel and dropped us off free of charge. Great atmosphere here also. Highly recommended

Was invited here by the owner I believe. The food was good but wasn't too impressed with the chicken wrap and the food took ages to arrive and also there being no power which affected the kitchen as I was told but the drinks were very good. But they were kind enough to pick us up and returned us back to our hotel which was very helpful.

Came here for the first time the service was very bad and the woman who helped us did not want to understand that our chicken was raw. The inside was pink and the way we were helped was not OK. For a country like Turkey, It’s very dangerous to eat raw chicken, you could end up in the hospital
Desdina A — Google review
Truly the most embarrassing fast (slow) food restaurant I have ever had the misfortune of eating in. Ordered 2 doner meat and the woman staff member was polite and took our order, however it then took them 20 minutes to get already cooked doner on to a plate. When food arrived it was a good temperature HOWEVER, what I saw on my plate was a very small portion of doner meat, small portion of chips, rice and half a plate of salad! Honestly I'm from England and we are notorious for putting more salad than meat but this made england look generous on the doner meat! And then when eating this mediocre food I compared it to the worst doner from England. This was not what I expected as I have been told that Turkey has the best doner in the world. And then to finish off I went to the counter with my money of £20 and was greeted (if I can say greeted) by this grumpy male staff member and was then told it was £21 which I was annoyed at. The food on the menu said it was under £10 each at just over 300 lira each. For turkish or European reviewers £1 is 40 lira. However this place charged me £1 for every 36 lira. I would not recommend this place. They can not make a simple meal and they are certainly crooks! 0/5

Food Prices are very expensive We paid 1560 TL = £38.77 for a 1 burger 2 chicken wraps 2 cans 3 very tiny portion of chips(which is a meal deal ) 3 scoop of ice cream and 3 glasses of pressed orange juice. You'd expect to pay the same or les in Uk for the same product. Turkey is a very nice place to visit but the main problem still the overcharging side from many places Please carefully read or ask prices before ordering.

Server was quite rude like he didn't want to be there. Gave me kebab neat not chicken like I asked...he said he didn't hear! When I asked for a drink that wasn't available he went to walk away rather than ask if I would like something else. Shocking service, won't be back, sorry.

Istanbul Restaurant is a delightful gem that truly enhances your holiday experience. With its fresh and delicious food, including highly recommended steaks and frozen daiquiris, it’s no wonder visitors keep coming back for more. The friendly and attentive staff ensure you feel right at home while enjoying stunning beach views—perfect for those Instagram moments! The atmosphere is lively, especially during special events like Motown nights where guests can dance the night away.
Have been here for drinks a few times. Really wanted a casserole tonight and wow they didn't dissapoint. Food was delicious. I dont even have space for dessert. Huge portions great value for money and the staff are just lovely. Very friendly. Highly recommend paying a visit. Great selection of cocktails too. Even watched the rugby game on Saturday... perfect location right on the beach front.. Enjoyed the shisah also.

We went to the Istanbul restaurant for the Motown and northern soul night, which was brilliant. Lots of people up dancing and having a great time. We have not eaten here, so can't comment on it, but the drinks were good and reasonably priced. The staff worked hard getting people's food and drinks to the customer's. You have good views over the beach too.

It was so amazing I visited twice during my holiday! The food was so fresh, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious!! I 100 percent recommend one of their steaks and frozen Daquiri's. Also the waiters are super friendly, polite and quick to take your order/ bring you anything you need. You have a perfect view of the beach, for those insta shots and amazing free wifi so you can post there and then. An added bonus is the music being awesome, and them doing soul nights!! They even provide a lift service to take you back to your hotel - which helps after their big portions.

Only went as there an indoor kids play. We went twice in one wk. Our kids and grandchildren visited us as we're on an extended holiday. First time I asked for the menu as the kids wanted to eat. I had 2 beers and 7up and was charged 90tl for the can which is a bit much but hey its on the sea front. We went again the night before the kids went home and ordered 3 cans and a water along with other things. This time we were charged 120tl per can and 50tl for water (twice as much as most places we go). Might be an honest mistake but we queried/joked it saying it was dearer than Yacht Club at 115tl. We've told all our expats mates. And if we can be bothered to go that way again will mention it and get a menu.

Fantastic food I had the mixed grill and everything was cooked to perfection, kids had baked potato with cheese and beans loved it all, wife had burger was very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful fresh lemonade was very nice. Definitely recommend and will be going back soon. 👌

We had a fantastic experience at Food Mood! The jacket potatoes were absolutely delicious — large, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. Cem, who served us, was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He even showed us some brilliant magic tricks, which kept the children entertained and made the whole visit even more special. The prices were very reasonable, and the location is great too. Highly recommend if you're looking for a relaxed, family-friendly spot with great food and even better service!

We took our breakfast coffee here every morning (midday). Best coffee in town. We allowed to smell the fresh beans.cafe americano and also Turkish coffee. the Künefe is not to sweet, that's how we prefer it. Limonata is hand made . delicious. Very attentive people. We didn't take the breakfast, couse we can't eat in the morning (midday), but it looks delicious. a place you should visit.
