Golf Hotel Punta Ala is an upscale property located in Castiglione della Pescaia, offering a range of amenities including an airy restaurant, spa, and an 18-hole golf course. Situated on the waterfront with stunning views of the Tuscan coast, it provides a timeless and elegant retreat for guests seeking to immerse themselves in the natural beauty of the area.
I’m sitting by the gorgeous pool as I write this. The grounds are beautiful, the staff is extremely helpful and responsive, and the remodeled rooms are very comfortable. Georgia and the other front desk staff have gone above and beyond the norm to make our stay comfortable and easy. My suitcase was destroyed by the airlines and Georgia helped me make a claim and told me exactly where to go to purchase a replacement, which made the task much faster than it could have been without her help. My only desire would be to have some air circulation in my room, either with a table fan or central air system.

Room was good for a family of 5 & met our needs although we struggled with the lack of EU plug sockets. Breakfast was poor, no menu no explanation of what was available to order in addition to the very plain buffet which was very underwhelming. The older staff members acted like we were a nuisance to ask questions or for help which was actually quite shocking and made us feel uncomfortable. The beach was great this is where you get your value from, it was easy to access via the shuttle & enjoy a full day there with kids. Reception were very helpful.

Hotel is at super location. We booked on short notice and our room wasn’t ready till after 4-5pm. Rooms are decently decorated and renovated. According to hotel rating, this is 4* hotel, not 5* like mentioned on booking.com Front desk personell is very friendly and helpful. We got price discount for the problems with the delayed checkin.
Zlatko S — Google review
The location is just beautiful. However the service has to be improved. Room service and reception are good. Yet the restaurant service and quality of food is by far not what you can expect in a four star hotel. Also the “ambiente” in the restaurant is somehow poor.
Thomas H — Google review
Very expensive in relation to value. €600 for one night for a double room with a sofa bed. Personnel was very service minded and did their best. Beach was ok. Main building looks like something in Russia and needs restoration as does the beach buildings.

Nestled just steps from the sandy shores, La Spiaggia offers a delightful culinary experience in an elegant pavilion at Cala del Porto. This beach club is not only known for its stunning views of the Tuscan Archipelago but also for its exquisite menu featuring local delicacies. Diners can indulge in dishes like parma ham paired with sweet melon, spaghetti adorned with fresh seafood, and succulent lamb cutlets complemented by peppery rocket salad.
A restaurant in the only 5 star hotel in Punto Ala. Distant place from crowd with a nice view on the marina and the sea

(Translated by Google) Unpleasant Dishes… [MID Column] Nothing wrong with the place, the establishment or the service… Unfortunately there is a lot to complain about the food, especially at this level/price (even more so for a 5 hotel property 🌟) The menu offers typical seafood dishes, and I had the opportunity to try the cuisine several times, with always different dishes. My latest experience confirms my opinion… After tasting: - Octopus salad (little, a lot of potato, little octopus and a little aseptic in appearance) - Raw tuna steak (Very Good) - First course with clams (cold, bitter, unpleasant to the taste and smell) - Eggplant croquette (a useless and tasteless dish, to be removed from the menu) - First course with Burrata and octopus (Good) - Pasta with tomato sauce (They could have deigned to use quality cherry tomatoes or at least put some basil in it) The dishes are generally well presented, the problem is that they are tasteless or unpleasant, on many occasions served completely cold. (Original) Piatti Sgradevoli…

(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, quantity doesn't equal price. The portions are good, but the portions are small, so it's fine for those on a diet or those who don't understand authentic Italian cuisine. I was here two weeks ago, and after lunch I went for a pizza at Vela!

Golf club
Golf Club Punta Ala, established in 1964, offers a stunning 18-hole par 72 course designed by Giulio Cavalsani. The course spans over 6,000 meters and provides breathtaking sea views from every hole as it winds through a dense forest. The club house features a panoramic restaurant/bar and a meeting room. Additionally, the club boasts real grass driving range with sheltered mats and picturesque views of the sea.
I can only estimate the golf course, which has a beautiful layout, quite hilly and not easy to walk. Challenging holes and quite long, more for better hcp players, greens in good condition. 90.— and 40.— for a buggy
M H — Google review
If you want a wonderful golf experience of 18 holes in the untouched Tuscan nature, the smell of pine trees, carpets of flowers, a view of the sapphire blue sea and an unforgettable pampering for your taste buds with exquisite, culinary specialties, I can recommend the Golf Club Punta Ala. The course is hilly, well maintained, the golf carts are impeccable. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The restaurant staff and the owner of the course family deserve special praise. They really try hard and unobtrusively give you a feeling of being welcome in a homely atmosphere. The parking lot is large, has a few covered spaces and a charging station for electric vehicles. The golf course is open all year round.
Mateja Ž — Google review
The course may be fine for exceptional golfers. But for mere mortals with handicaps in the high teens to the 20s it is a nightmare: big trees in the middle of the fairways, inconsistent sand in the bunkers. Shortest Ts are 5500 yards! No drinking water on the course, no toilets. On the other hand the T boxes are perfect; the fairways are well maintained and the greens are in great shape and roll true. Would I play it again? Probably not. Too tough. Not much fun. Oh, my hc is 15.9.
Joseph D — Google review
After having played Punta Ala, i have to grade two different things. First the course: It's not the most challenging but considering that it is not an area rich in courses, it is absolutely recommendable. The design is varied and modeled nicely into the landscape, producing quite a few interesting looks. The sight from the seventh tee is breathtaking. The fact that the fairways and greens won't ever be in their best shape must probably be attributed to the climate and the fact there just aren't enough members or green fees sold to keep up. It is still absolutely playable (beginning of august). 4 stars for the course! Second the manager: I went to take a look at things with my girlfriend, who is from Italiy, two days before actually playing. The manager then told her in Italian, that the fee would be 70 Euro. When i arrived for my round two days later, alone, he appeared to have changed his mind and wanted 90, explaining hastily that the fee had increased to summer prices since, without being able to produce any evidence of that (there is none...). It's dishonest and i find it shameful. 1 Star for the treatment!
Yves S — Google review
Went to practice here.....13 euros to use the practice ground plus 2 euros for 25 balls. So 19 euros to hit 75 very poor quality golf balls. Will not be returning.....
Chris F — Google review
Good golf course. Well maitained and beautiful surroundings. I really enjoyed my 18 holes golf.

Bagno Belmare is a popular kid-friendly beach in Punta Ala, Tuscany. It is well sheltered and delimited by rocks, offering crystal-clear waters and stunning views of the Tuscan Archipelago. This beach is entirely occupied by a bathing establishment, so visitors can access it by renting umbrellas and deck chairs. It's known for its private fine sandy beach and lush natural surroundings.
A great restaurant with amazing food and great vines. The seating near the sea and the great view make the atmosphere so nice and relaxed even on the hot days. The stuff is also very nice, calm and friendly. Visited a few times already and will definitely return again for the food and the nice experience.

Beautiful restaurant by the beach. The starters are very good. We ate pasta alle vongole and caeser salad. Both very well served. Just a recommendation: add garlic to pasta alle vongole to increase flavour.
Catarina M — Google review
This review is just for the restaurant: + Fantastic view, amazing sunsets, table with a view; tasty caponata (vegetable stew); tasty fried complimentary antipasto. - Waiter spoke to us at only 30 cm distance with the face mask resting under his chin; whole grilled seabass a bit dry and not cleaned properly by the waiter; potatoes oily; waiting time too long.
Elena P — Google review
Elegant, excellent restaurant and professional staff. Environment suitable for families with children, but also young adults. Very comfortable beach beds with a nice thick mattress and very clean. The restaurant is open for both lunch and dinner, it is also possible to have a light lunch to be consumed in the dedicated areas as well as children menu. The aperitif accompanied by a platter of snacks is also top quality. Relaxing atmosphere. The parking reserved for customers is very close (4 minutes walk), but there is a golf car that makes a shuttle service; well organized. I take this opportunity to thank the owner, who is very careful about everything, kind and helpful. I will definitely be back next year too!
Federica — Google review
We have always gone here for the past 6 years and enjoyed every year as it has all the facilities which are kept clean, this year we didn't manage to get there the first week of our holidays as it has had reduced capacity due to covid, but today we went and could see what a fantastic job they had done on social distancing on the beach... Well worth a visit

La Vela - Punta Ala, Tuscany is a beach club with a contemporary building shaped like a sail. It consists of two levels, including a ground floor bar and small spa, as well as a rooftop restaurant that offers stunning ocean panoramas. The club provides enough space between the umbrellas and sun beds for comfort. However, the only downside is that drinks are served at the small bar which can become overcrowded.
Nice beach club. Enough distance between the umbrellas and the sun beds. The negative point is they only serve drinks at the small bar which can get very crowded. The restaurant is good and offers a good lunch and dinner menu. We had Tuna POke for lunch. The parking is available for free. Toilets and showers are also available. Beach is nice, maybe no the best but good for swimming and kids. Make sure to make reservation for beach, and restaurants.
Cesar R — Google review
Nice beach club. 50€ for 2 sun beds and 2 chairs. Restaurant pretty expensive. You can't order drinks at the beach
Katarzyna Z — Google review
Very friendly staff at the beach, all umbrellas have 2 Sun-beds and 2 beach chairs, and reasonable amount of space. Great with the possibility to book via website. The restaurant is on a terrace overlooking the sea 🌊. Good selection of food and fast service. The staff though seems stressed and tired. Pricing generally very high like most places at Punta Ala but they offer a larghe variety services.
Sabine L — Google review
We were in their restaurant in the evening for the dinner. The atmosphere was very good and the sunset was perfect. But the restaurant food and service disappointed us very much! The waiters looked very professional from the first look, but we ordered wine and no one ever brought it to us! They just forgot about it, but of course they didn’t forget to put the price of eine into our check. The food was also not very tasty. Especially we didn’t like the spaghetti which the waiter recommended us! Even our son who loves spaghetti couldn’t eat it! However the price for it was enormous (26 euro!!!) . This dish was not in the menu so we didn’t know the price before. And I couldn’t imagine that spaghetti could be the most expensive dish. In general our dinner was a disappointment
Olesia R — Google review
Ideal lounge for an aperitive on the beach. Comfy sofas leaning on the sand, good music in the background, good cocktails, rich and tasty buffet (in fact a real "apericena"). The price is a bit dear (10 € for a spritz), but you couldn't expect less by a lounge around Punta Ala Last but not least, La Vela is a perfect place to admire the sunset over the Follonica gulf and the Elba Island.
Lorenzo P — Google review
Perfect servis,very good food

Great beach with good facilities and reasonable distance between the umbreallas. Very friendly staff, nice gym and beach bar allow to enjoy a full day at the beach! Restaurant located on a terrace offers a stunning view and tasty food (gluten free pasta available!)

I read some of others reviews and have to say that the La Vela changed management in 2023. Poor reviews before are not coherent with what is today the service and the food at the restaurant, the beach. I travel allot and seldom have found such a great place Bravo

Pizzeria 3P is a renowned establishment with 50 years of history, offering freshly baked flatbread and delightful pizza options like the cheese pizza. It's considered a must-visit spot in Punta Ala, Italy. Visitors praise the fast food atmosphere and perfect taste of the pizzas, highlighting the excellent price-performance ratio. The dough is described as perfectly crunchy yet soft, topped with high-quality mozzarella by polite pizzaiolos.
Very good Pizza. Its no neapolitan pizza but the dough is just perfect. Very crunchy yet soft, high quality mozzarella and polite pizzaiolo. You can either order just a slice, a whole baking tray (9 pieces, up to 3 different toppings) or a round pizza. If you are in/near punta ala then try this pizza!
