Trinity Leeds is a vibrant shopping destination that offers an impressive array of lifestyle and designer fashion stores, making it a must-visit for any fashion enthusiast. Beyond shopping, this expansive mall features a delightful selection of restaurants to satisfy your culinary cravings and even boasts a three-screen arthouse cinema for those looking to catch an indie film. Nestled in the heart of Leeds city centre, Trinity Leeds stands out as part of the city's rich cultural landscape, surrounded by attractions like museums, galleries, and theaters.
Wayfinding needs to be improved. So many entrances and small routes which you can take more efficiently, if you know your way around. If not you will be walking around in circles and realising that there are small entrances from the back alley, say Albion street. Entrances should be marked as entrances or something to inform people. Overall mall is filled with lots of essential shops, not much branded, very hearty place. I guess because it is on a hill, some floors appear as first floor while others are like second floor to first. Mostly clothing on the first floor and eating on the third floors. I like the seasonal decorations and nice dome shape clear class which allows you to have a breathtaking view

On our trip to Leeds for an event, we got here slightly early, and decided to have a wonder around this mall. Got here at 6pm so quite a few places had closed. One thing we were desperate for was the loo! Nice enough toilets and quite easy to find, however my toilet did not flush! Clearly didn’t flush for the few users before me either. Slightly mortifying. We had planned to come back here for food after our event (either Five Guys, Tortilla, That Ziki) but we were quite tired and decided to head straight home! I’d love to come back here and properly explore/shop one day!

Washrooms could be a lot better. But a wide range of restaurants, tech centres, clothing. Really busy on weekends. A one stop destination to do all your shopping

Trinity Leeds is a fantastic one-stop destination located in the heart of Leeds City Centre, just a short walk from both the train station and bus station. We have all top brands in one place, making it incredibly convenient to find everything you need without travelling far. The complex also features a well-organized food court with plenty of dining options, a cinema theatre for entertainment, and clean, accessible toilets. A great place to spend time with family or friends!

Amazing service! (Trinity Leeds Customer services.) About three weeks ago, I was having an issue online with an order from 'Zara'. I called 'Leeds Trinity's, in the hope that they could put me through. Unfortunately, Zara don't have a customer service number that I could get them on, which makes any number superfluous. I was trying to get to know where an order that was a week late was. Fortunately, my hero 'Lorella' from customer services, went above and beyond. She not only tried to contact them for me, but took my number to call me back, as I was on the school run. After waiting a while to get hold of someone, she finally did & found out that what I ordered was no longer in stock. This wasn't good customer service from them, as I hadn't received any email notifying me, or that I would be getting a refund. I was very thankful to Lorella, for taking the time to help me out, as she was very empathetic & showed exactly what good customer service is. She got nothing in the way of a sale or anything else, it was just to help me, & she re affirmed that some companies employ people who will go above & beyond to deliver that great standard! Thank you again Lorella, you're a credit to 'Trinity Leeds'.

Good place to shop in Leeds, Bradford, or the Huddersfield area. There are plenty of options with big and small brands. Good food court options and the general atmosphere is comfortable and cool.

I love visiting the Trinity, mainly for the Apple store but there are a lot of great stores available, M&S right on the edge of the centre is really convenient and so is the Boots store, there’s lots of restaurants too where you can bob in for lunch or an evening meal. There’s a cinema too but I haven’t made use of this. They have a nice and helpful customer service point that you can find on the maps which are situated on each floor. Even just for walking around and grabbing a bite and a coffee it’s generally a nice please to visit.

Victoria Leeds is a stunning shopping destination that showcases the elegance of Victorian architecture with its ornate, glass-roofed arcades. This retail haven spans over 650,000 square feet and features two main sections: Victoria Quarter and Victoria Gate. Here, you can explore an impressive selection of luxury brands that rival those found in London, including renowned names like Paul Smith and Estee Lauder.
Victoria Leeds is a true gem in the heart of the city, offering a shopping experience that’s both elegant and exciting. The architecture alone is stunning—beautiful arcades with intricate details and modern touches make it a joy just to walk around. The mix of high-end brands, unique boutiques, and popular stores ensures there’s something for everyone, whether you’re just browsing or on a shopping spree. Beyond the shopping, there’s a fantastic selection of cafes and restaurants where you can take a break and enjoy a bite to eat or a coffee. The entire space is always clean, well-maintained, and feels very upscale, with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The staff in the shops and around the area are always welcoming and happy to help, which adds to the overall experience. Victoria Leeds is a perfect blend of luxury, style, and convenience—highly recommended for anyone visiting Leeds or locals looking for a top-notch shopping destination!

A great space, filled with shops and a restaurant. Sad to see empty spaces to rent. There is a great Alice in Wonderland set up for the kids. I didn’t see the staff this time around but have seen them previously, all dressed up in theme interacting with the kids.
Glam N — Google review
Compared with last year’s Monopoly themed event, this year is clearly much weaker! Although the installations are grand and dazzling, very attractive for photo taking and social media, the activity of searching for hidden playing cards within the installations is just a decent parent-child activity. However, the staff merely stood around chatting, offering no guidance or introductions, and some landmarks didn’t even have staff present. The main character, Alice, was nowhere to be seen; the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit just rushed past laughing, with no intention of stopping to take photos with participants. Last year, staff were dressed in gorgeous costumes, but this year they only wore printed t-shirts. In the end, the art installations became nothing more than photo backdrops.

You can find many shops next to the entrance and then at the far end is the entrance to the John Lewis store. Great selection of stores. A great place for a quick snack or coffee for lunch break after work or even on a day out with the family. Absolutely loved the place, very modern and quiet. Loved the modern open ceiling design. Huge John Lewis department store inside. Fantastic, would definitely go back when I’m in Leeds again. A great shopping centre really well laid out and very clean pretty much every major shop that you would need including some lovely independents too.

A shopping centre with luxury shops. There are a couple of restaurants, nova. It's a small shopping centre in general, unless you consider Leeds Market and Victoria Quarter. I understand it's all separate, or just different buildings but one shopping centre

I recently visited Victoria Leeds, and it was a fantastic shopping experience! The centre beautifully combines historic charm with modern design, highlighted by its stunning stained-glass canopy and elegant arcades. It offers a wide variety of shops, from luxury brands like Louis Vuitton and Mulberry to popular high-street stores such as John Lewis. The dining options are excellent, with places like The Ivy providing a perfect spot to relax after shopping. The staff across the centre were friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere felt lively yet welcoming. Whether you’re looking to shop, dine, or just enjoy the architecture, Victoria Leeds is definitely worth a visit.

Used to be a secure reasonable car park, they now charge you £10 for 30 mins, incorrectly stating that is ‘lost my ticket’ I’d suggest using the Light instead. Security no help, business manager can’t be bothered to return calls either. What a shame I have to resort to reviews for £6.50!

The interactive displays in 'Boom' allow guests to explore sound waves' journeys while learning about their impact on our lives.
This is an excellent museum. Free of charge, although donations encouraged. Lots to see and do, very well thought out displays. I've been coming since my first school trip, which helped fuel my lifelong passion for film and television.

We had a great time visiting the Bradford Science and Media Museum. The exhibits are engaging, interactive, and perfect for visitors of all ages. I especially loved the hands-on science displays and the fascinating film and TV history sections. The staff were friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. The gentleman giving the talk about the planets was fun and engaging. The museum offers a great mix of education and fun, with plenty of opportunities to explore and learn in a lively environment. Whether you’re interested in science, technology, or media, this museum is definitely worth a visit.

100% worth a visit. Free entry for most but a fee exhibits you pay extra to go in. The video game floor is by far the best £3 and you can play loads of retro and classic video games. (Also makes me feel old that video games are in a museum 😢)

Garden
Fountains Abbey, located in the Yorkshire Dales, is a National Trust property that offers a captivating blend of history and natural beauty. Nestled in a secluded valley, this UNESCO World Heritage Site features the impressive ruins of a Cistercian Abbey alongside an 18th-century landscaped garden. Visitors can explore the grand abbey ruins with its hidden staircases and alcoves before venturing to the Cisterian Mill built by the monks.
What an incredible place, if you are like myself you will need multiple trips to take in everything. We spent the entire day basically going around the ruins and didn't even get chance to go in the Hall or the deer park. Stunning place and it is lovely to see it busy as well, and not to mention how well maintained it is. English heritage and National Trust free entry which is a bonus. Highly recommended place to go and like I said maybe two days to explore the entire site properly but wow you won't regret it.
Damien S — Google review
Wow, what a place! Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Gardens completely blew me away. The abbey ruins are absolutely stunning – huge, dramatic, and full of atmosphere. You can just wander around and lose yourself in the history. The gardens are gorgeous too – so beautifully designed with lakes, statues, little follies, and surprise viewpoints. Catching a glimpse of the abbey from across the water is like something out of a painting. We also spotted deer in the park which was a bit of a treat! Loads of walking routes to choose from, so you can do a quick wander or spend the whole day exploring. There’s also two good on-site cafes, one at the visitor centre, and one lakeside venue. There are also plenty of picnic spots if you bring your own. The whole place is spotless and really well looked after. This was one of the best days out I’ve had in ages – peaceful, scenic, and full of history. It is also a World Heritage Site to boot, so you are in for a treat!

We attends an evening event with a male voice choir which was just lovely. To explore the ruins in the dark/by torchlight gave it a very different feel. The acoustics for the concert were brilliant and gave me goosebumps! We will definitely return in the daytime to see it again. Nice to do something different, we had a great time.
Helen C — Google review
It's a magical place. The Abbey is large and it is in good condition considering it's hundreds of years old. You could spend quite sometime here enjoying the Abbey. There is alot to see on the estate.

Absolutely Stunning place to visit. The grounds are immense and walks were beautiful. So we'll looked after. I'll definitely be going back to see the rest of it, it is so vast. Tip. Go early and take a pick nic if it's nice, or enjoy the cafe on site.
Bfcuk1 — Google review
The Abbey is beautiful and nd there is so much to see in the grounds. The Mill, Hall and the walk by the river through the woods to a lovely view point. The pools and statues are great. There are toilets and cafes in the grounds. Spent 5 hours there and still didn't get to see the deer park and church.
Tel F — Google review
Visited over the New Year A great set of ruins with plenty of information boards. The site is large so a fair bit of walking involved if you want to take in the gardens, follies & the church, though this isn't open during the winter months but looks spectacular. A coffee shop & seating avaliable near the lake & toilets, as well as near the entrance. The only downside was the amount of children climbing over the ruins, sometimes with big drops, let alone the importance of preserving them. An adequate play area is avaliable.

Thai restaurant
Mommy Thai is a popular restaurant with multiple locations in Leeds and York, offering a menu filled with classic Thai dishes served in a vibrant and rustic setting. The franchise has gained popularity for its delicious and authentic Thai cuisine, creating a street-food atmosphere that enhances the dining experience. One of their highlights is the lunch deal, providing great value for money and a wide variety of customizable options.
Hands down one of the best value restaurants in Leeds. The portions were massive and the prices were amazing. Fast service too! Food was absolutely delish, I forgot what I ordered but I ate EVERYTHING. My friends thoroughly enjoyed all of their dishes and the staff even provided containers if you wanted to take it home. You can pay in cash or card too! Thank you for a great experience.

Lovely place to have lunch. Great value for money and good tasting food. Great wide choice. It's a type of quick and yummy experience. We share with our 7 year old, two main meals. Plenty to go around. Drinks are also priced decently. We love it.
Gabriela B — Google review
Went here with a friend for the first time! 😍 The food was nice with decent sized portions. I ordered noodles with prawns for protein as part of the meal and it was lovely! I couldn't finish, but the staff kindly gave me my own takeaway box to pack myself when asked, and were efficient when delivering our meal. The atmosphere was quite noisy, especially as it was late at 8/9pm and multiple conversations were happening. Overall though, it is a nice place to eat at with a friend or two! ❤️
Equus F — Google review
Place feels very similar to places in Thailand. Portion sizes are large and will definitely fill you up. Service was very helpful and kind. Tom yum was good, perfect amount of spicy-ness. Pad Thai was sweet and nice although I found the noodles to be dry and stuck together. Overall, tasted very authentic and I would revisit.
Justin F — Google review
Great service and atmosphere, but I’d say be careful what noodles you order if you want authentic noodles. Recommend getting the mixed platter starter to share, it has a good variety and comes in a cute basket, very picturesque. I didn’t quite like the Kow soi curry noodles I had, the curry soup was seasoned well with mild spice, but the egg noodles were way too soft and had no texture. Disappointed in the egg noodles, they were in short strands as well, not sure if that was intentionally cut, can’t call it egg noodles if it’s trimmed. 10% off if you pay in cash.
Yulin — Google review
Their lunch deal is definitely of amazing value where you get a starter and main for £11! Compared to some of these other Thai restaurants that charge extra for even the rice dish! Quick and friendly service too.
Wren — Google review
Paid £12.95 for a meal that was unacceptable. Portion consisted of just two pieces of pork with a huge chunk of skin. Sauce leaked everywhere, soaking the bag and packaging (photos attached). To make things worse, the quality and presentation were completely inconsistent compared to my previous order from the same place (see photo). When I called the restaurant to give feedback, the staff showed no apology or accountability—instead, they told me to “ask Deliveroo for a refund.” That’s not how you treat paying customers.

Rudy's Pizza Napoletana in Leeds offers affordable and delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas with a variety of toppings, including classic options like margherita and vegetarian choices, as well as unique specials. The restaurant's white pizza and flavorful condiments set it apart from other pizza places. With its focus on chewy rather than crispy dough, Rudy's has become a popular choice for pizza lovers.
Delicious authentic Neapolitan pizza with a light, airy crust and fresh toppings. The Margherita was spot on, and the anchovy/olive pizza was full of flavor. Friendly service and a cozy spot. Definitely recommend! 🍕🥗🤌

Edit: emailed address below and Leeds branch twice, never heard back. Such a disappointing experience for Fathers Day. We love the Headingley branch so gave Leeds city a try. The waitress when asked by us if there was a free pint for Father’s Day said yes, but we were charged for it on the bill - to then be given a can of IPA instead, nice gesture (thank you) but not a free house drink like we were promised, or received for Mothers Day in Headingley. On Mothers Day my wife also received a kind free dessert but no offer of this for Father Day in Leeds. The pizzas took around 70 minutes from sitting down to arrive, the restaurant wasn’t even full and the staff didn’t appear too overwhelmed either. Tried ordering some olives to start and on my pizza only to be told “we’ve run out of olives?!” We were already a little miffed as to how Rudy’s in Headingley had run out of burrata on Mother’s Day too, for such a big chain their stock levels need looking at. The pizzas were great but after 2 very different experiences at 2 branches we are hesitant to go again 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ordered a boozy lemonade, garlic bread, a couple of pizzas some ice cream, and because the waiter was feeling generous, a lemoncello on the house! Amazing authentic food at reasonable prices especially keeping in mind premium location next to the train station, service was very good despite us not having a booking (we were heading for Jodhpur but it was closed ☹️), one of the lads took a 30min wait down to 10-15min by reshuffling booking arrangements (not everyone does this) for us two be seated, very accomadating Staff despite business and the atmosphere was very industrial/ contemporary whilst being homely, pizza is cooked, and bar are as part of open plan layout, bringing in natural light via high ceilings. Will definitely be taking my wife's parents when they arrive in the UK 😎 We spent £50 betwixt the two of us, but £10-20 per person should be ok, as my wife and I just came from 3hrs of tennis and ate like there's no tomorrow! 😄
Ronak N — Google review
Rudys near the station road is an absolute vibe. Rustic, authentic neapolitean pizzas with ambience as good as the toppings makes it one of the best pizza places in Leeds. We tried the garlic bread and portebello mushroom pizza, and both were brilliant. The most suprising part is how well everything is seasoned and every bite is flavorful. Unfortunately, we had no idea that the garlic bread is a pizza on its own with mozzarella so both the pizzas tasted very similar, but we'll have a reason to go back again (red sauce base)
Siddhant S — Google review
Such delicious pizza, highly recommend with the garlic aioli dip for the crust! I had the doppia mozzarella with added sweetcorn and garlic oil this time. Open kitchen where you can see them being made, out waitress was very sweet and all the staff were friendly and seemed upbeat. This is my second time at this branch but I enjoyed visiting the Manchester one a few years ago too.
Emma — Google review
Really disappointed as we normally love rudys ☹️ Ordered 2 pizzas for takeaway and they arrived with hardly any toppings, cheese or sauce, dry & cold as per photo, ended up binning most of it, have tried to contact company via their website first but didn’t receive a response

Ramen restaurant
Nestled in the heart of the city, House of Fu is a culinary gem that has recently transitioned from pop-up success to a permanent dining destination. This vibrant ramen restaurant offers an array of mouthwatering dishes, including their standout beef ramen, which boasts rich flavors and high-quality ingredients. For those looking for a lively atmosphere beyond dining, the upstairs bar features private karaoke booths where you can unleash your inner rock star.
We were strolling through the city center when we spotted this place and decided to give it a try—and it was the best decision ever! The curry chicken with rice and all the toppings was incredible, and the crispy cauliflower was out of this world. The prices are reasonable, and the service is outstanding. Definitely give it a try—you won’t regret it!

House of Fu was a lovely spot to get lunch. My friend and I shared a starter of pork gyozas (some of the best I have ever had) then we both got a bowl of ramen which were also delicious. The atmosphere was lively and there was nice background music. The staff were efficient but not overly chatty in my opinion. Overall I would really recommend. I would also advise booking on a weekend lunchtime.

Such a gem. We didn't book a table but we were lucky enough to have seats at high chairs. The staff is very friendly, relaxed and chatty. Food is amazing, and if you are struggling to use chopsticks 🥢-don't hesitate and ask for cutlery.(I am absolutely rubbish to use them in public, and would have food all over me ,and possibly other people😂). We had crispy cauliflower, and dumplings for start and both had 🍜 Ramen( that's what we was planning to have). It didn't disappoint! Nom nom nom! We will back when next time visiting Leeds for gig. Thank you!
Izabela W — Google review
Went here for lunchtime, the menu is ok, can be better. Mostly pork or chicken, there were other ramen that I would've tried, but it was plant based, unfortunately. The lack of beef dishes was a bit disappointing, and the gyoza's arrived earlier than the main food, we waited for the ramen but came too late so we just went ahead and ate the gyoza otherwise they'd go cold. The original fu ramen was a bit too rich and creamy slightly made me feel sick, so I stopped eating it. Don't get me wrong. The dish is nice but not for me.

Had a lovely meal at House of Fu this afternoon. My partner has some food allergies and the staff made him feel really reassured and informed which meant we could both enjoy our food worry free! It was delicious, the atmosphere was really relaxed, and the staff were lovely! Will definitely dine there again.
Meghann C — Google review
Loved the vibe of this place and the cool tiling and general decor/colour scheme. Had a nice mocktail menu and the staff were very attentive, chickened out of trying ramen for the first time but enjoyed the cauliflower rice bowl instead - very generous portions also!

The food is always amazing here! The lunch deal slaps for £10, as well as the great selection of drinks. Seeing jubel on the menu is always a good sign. Highly recommend coming for a cosy lunch lunch spot or lovely evening meal. Shout out to Tilly and Fin. They looked after me so well and the best people! Can’t wait to come back. Emma <3

The staff were really friendly and helpful. Maverick our chocolate labrador loved it too especially as he had a Waggychino. The food was really good. I had Eggs Benedict whilst my wife had a Pancake Stack with Berry Compote and white chocolate sauce.

A lovely place to while away a bit of time as a family. A good place to come after visiting the workhouse museum down the road (also recommended!). We particularly enjoyed the chocolate brownie and maltesers brownie, though one of our party noted that the carrot cake wasnt their favourite. Dogs are welcome, prices are as expected, menu is extensive enough to suit most tastes, staff are smiley and friendly and the walls are green.

A great little find on our travels. The young lady serving was attentive and helpful. We had the best coffees in a while and the Eggs Florentine we ordered were delicious, hence the photo!! Wishing you well with your business.

Nice little coffee shop with a good menu. Very welcoming and attentive service. Cakes were tasty and dog was greeted warmly with a complimentary gravy bone.

Went here today on recommendation of a friend. Wasn't disappointed ordered their large breakfast and a Tea, the tea came in it's own little teapot with real tea leaves. Lovely cuppa. The food was one of, if not the best Breakfast I have had. Could tell all the produce was fresh from a butcher not usual supermarket stuff. The large mushroom was cooked to perfection as was everything. The staff were polite and helpful, it was a pleasure to dine there and will be returning when next in Ripon. Well done to all, thank you for such a pleasant dining experience

Ooooh wow! You have to taste the Millionaire's shortbread! Mmmm! Absolutely gorgeous cafe! Lovely outside seating area. Warm welcome. A very happy place. Very friendly and attentive staff. The cakes.... oh, my word. Millionaire's shortbread eith REAL Belgian chocolate. So glad I chose that! (Waitress recommended it too). Lovely coffee, great vibe, comfortable and lovely decor. Ripon definitely has quirky and arty influences. So much to see. Will come back to Oliver's pantry! Might see you there! Thank you!

Nice place but I can't help feeling it is a bit unloved nowadays. Service is always very good and foods OK but its lacking something. If. You're paying to eat out you either want an amazing interior or great food so it's got a few paddles stuck on the wall, hmm. Plants? Lovely paintings? Nice calm music? Has none of this. Sorry needs a good cuddle from its owners :)

Day 2

Off the beaten path
For day 2, if you don’t mind the extra trek, today covers more off the beaten path places like Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. Not quite as popular as Malham Cove, but still highly rated among many travelers. Accounting for getting around and average time spent, today’s activities could take about 7 hours.

Hiking Trails
The Ingleton Waterfalls Trail is a stunning 4.5-mile journey that showcases the breathtaking beauty of Yorkshire's countryside. Nestled on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, this popular trail attracts both locals and visitors year-round with its enchanting scenery. As you traverse this circular route, you'll encounter five magnificent waterfalls and eight water features in total, all while following the picturesque paths along the River Twiss and River Doe.
What a great day out, really nice walk, quite difficult for older people, and a definite no for a little of disabled. But give it a go if you have good support and family assistance. They have a few places for a brew or snack, and even an ice cream van about half way. I think we took about 3 + hours, and walked about 4 miles. Do it you won't regret.
David H — Google review
Never heard of this place before so we thought we'd give it a go. Being in early October and a Monday it was quiet when we arrived, plenty of parking. Not the best of days weatherwise but that didn't put us off. It's definitely a trail that needs moderate fitness as it's fairly up and down with many steps, plus good boots are needed (especially in the wet as the rocks are slippery). But if you take time there shouldn't be any issues. Some amazing waterfalls with good viewing points. There are cafes at the start and half way round but the one by the carpark was closed. (Monday). There was an ice-cream van further up the trail. Overall a pleasant hike with great views. Is it worth £11 per adult? I'd say yes as someone has to maintain it.
Neil R — Google review
This walk is amazing. We went as a family group with 4 adults and 2 children aged 3 and 6 yrs. We thought the prices were a bit steep at first but the car park is very good and the toilets are clean and modern. The walk is exciting and awesome. There are waterfalls all the way up and on the way back down too. The path is stoney and slippy at times with lots of steps so adequate footwear and clothing is necessary. Absolutely brilliant.
Wendy G — Google review
Was a bit skeptical when i had to pay 11 each to walk around the trial. It was worth it. Many beautiful waterfalls and takes about 2 hours at least to complete. It took us 5. We like to stroll and really admire what were looking at. We even got to walk behind one of the falls which was breathtaking.
Nathan H — Google review
Way better than I imagined..walk took 3 hours to complete, and we saw many small to medium waterfalls. Entrance at £11 IS good value, don't let it put you off. Parking is plentiful, with excellent toilets just before yo pay to enter.
CHRISSO F — Google review
Great but long hike, the trail is well prepared but you need to factor in some 3hrs of your good paced walk for the full loop. Cafe with some refreshments and snacks half way through. Best to visit Autumn-Spring due to no leaves obscuring views and waterfalls full of water
Doktor W — Google review
The parking is free, but a entrance fees apply. The fee is absolutely worth it considering the work that must have gone in creating the paths, bridges, observation decks and walkways, truly a mark of engineering skills. Safe to walk if you are careful, and have good footwear. Not suitable for wheelchairs, pushchairs or anyone that isn't able to negotiate rocks, changing surfaces (which can be slippery) and heights! Amazing sets of many waterfalls of different categories, beautiful scenery and even a small snack cabin half way around in the middle of nowhere, as well as a lovely one towards the end of the walk. What a lovely village this is set in and surrounding areas are truly wonderful. Definitely go again as it's not the most strenuous of walks, and taking in all the sites and steady away take a few hours and about 4.5 miles circular. I will revisit in the winter when the water is higher, as I would imagine it's a powerful force to watch. Go check out this amazing place.
Mark — Google review
Beautiful views lovely and peaceful. I enjoyed the Waterfalls. But I won't lie, this trail is not easy in the slightest. I found it extremely difficult at times despite taking regular rest breaks. A lot of people turned back halfway through and we wondered why. The last half of the trail is mainly a hike through scenery and nothing to do with the waterfalls at all. The map does not match the trail which I found very unhelpful, there are numbers at certain points of the trail as you go along. I would suggest finishing at 8 or if you want to see the last waterfall 10. There is an ice cream van but it's another 10/15 mins after the last waterfall and is over a bridge with a steep decline and incline. Overall I'm chuffed we managed to do it in just over 3hrs but I wouldn't do it again. There is a toilet block and plenty of parking but the price seems a bit steep at £22 for 2 adults.

Caverns & Caves
White Scar Cave, located in the western Yorkshire Dales, is a popular destination for those seeking to explore the region's stunning underground landscape. The cave system, formed from limestone erosion over thousands of years, offers visitors the opportunity to experience subterranean passages, caverns, and waterfalls. Guided tours are available year-round, allowing guests to marvel at the impressive 100-meter-long cave with its towering 30-meter-high chambers.
This experience was enriching. Parking is excellent; if you time it right, there's no need to wait for the tour. Make sure you dress warmly and have shoes that don't slip. The staff on tour was friendly and really knowledgeable. Well done. I do recommend the visit as the cave experience is unique in every way. However, the staff in the shop were a bit sour, with no smiles or kindness. I felt like I was being watched all the time. One young man at the till had excellent customer skills and knowledge. Thank you, overall great experience.
Judit D — Google review
It's the only show cave I've visited and actually felt like I was in a natural cave. The fact that most of the cave is pretty much j as nature created it, with scaffolding platforms to walk on (rather than a dug out and concrete filled floor) gives it this feeling. Plus the end of the cave is still being explored. Really worthwhile visiting. The tour guides are great at what they do, and you're given plenty of opportunities at the end to make your own way out of the cave at your own pace to take photos.
Cameron F — Google review
White Scar Cave is a fascinating underground wonder! The guided tour takes you through impressive limestone formations, waterfalls, and unique chambers filled with natural beauty. The staff are knowledgeable and make the experience engaging. A bit of walking and ducking in places, but absolutely worth it for the breathtaking sights inside. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area
Shilpa G — Google review
Great cave experience, Mike our guide was fantastic. Informative and interesting to listen to. Great for adults and kids. You do need to have quite good mobility, there is a few sections that require you to walk stooped over and to be manoeuvring around rocks, lots of stairs too.
Sue D — Google review
Second visit to this outstanding set of showcaves and still every bit as magical as the first. Even the view from the car park is awe inspiring in a way that few other attractions can match, and things only get better from there as you make your way underground. The guides are very knowledgeable and help you to make sense of what you are seeing as you go. Some superb flowstone formations, and I found the ice age mud deposits in the battlefield cavern utterly fascinating. Take advantage of the toilet facilities before you enter the caves. It's a long walk around with a lot of running water. Definitely worth half a day of your time spent on a visit here.
Mark D — Google review
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour . The guide was extremely knowledgeable and very personable. If your tall be prepared for quite long passages where your crouched right down . The tour takes around 80 minutes to complete. Our group comprised ages from 10yrs old to about 70 ish and we all enjoyed it. Well worth a visit Esp on a rainy day
Nigel A — Google review
Our guide was Thomas, and he was wonderful. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to show us the cave as well as its interesting features. We will be returning when the water levels and higher and the waterfalls in the cave are more active The cave itself is fascinating, filled with cool formations and fossils, and with an interesting history. The walk is 1 mile in total and has areas with a wet floor, very low ceiling, and lots of steps but definitely well worth it for the history and formations
Rosie K — Google review
Really interesting tour but quite a workout especially if your of senior age lots of bending under low ceilings and metal steps to climb you'll be glad of a coffee or tea in the cafe afterwards worth seeing though

Hiking area
Ribblehead Viaduct is a stunning 19th-century railway viaduct located on the border of Cumbria and North Yorkshire in the remote area of the Yorkshire Dales. This iconic structure, part of the Settle-Carlisle railway, boasts 24 impressive stone arches and is a testament to Victorian engineering.
What a fantastic area to visit and walk. So much stunning scenery. If you are adventurous try climbing the Yorkshire 3 peaks, Pen y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in a day or do them over 3 days as separate walks.

Stunning scenery surrounding a incredible piece of historical engineering. Seen this on tv many times, so made my mind up to visit while staying in the area. Parking is just off the road in a made up free carpark, with made up gravel paths leading to the viaduct. As you approach it, it becomes more impressive untill you are stood in the shadows where it the work involved building it becomes apparent. Various paths & tracks lead of to moorland for hikers to explore. The icing on the cake would be to see a steam train cross it.
Paul B — Google review
Great scenic spot with free parking by the road just a short walk away. Managed to catch a diesel train crossing, but if you can time it for when a steam train is crossing, it would make a superb photo.

What a amazing bit of engineering, well worth a visit with the viaduct against the backdrop of the mountains, there's plenty parking places and loads of places for refreshments and ice cream. Just up from the viaduct there's a nice little pub.

Stunning Surroundings. Beautiful scenery. If you looking for a hiking challenge then this is a place you need to visit. There is plenty of space to camp with a camper van. They have a coffee/snack van after hiking. There is also a pub called The Station Inn Riddlehead Viaduct where you can go to have a warm meal and a pint. Very friendly staff. Scenic Walking Areas
Malham Cove is a remarkable geological formation in Yorkshire, featuring a limestone amphitheatre, waterfall, and stunning valley views. This large limestone structure was formed by glacier water during the last ice age and is now adorned with deeply eroded limestone pavement at its top. The area offers glorious vistas over the village of Malham and the surrounding Yorkshire Dales National Park.
Stunning place, amazing views. Extremely tight roads towards the village. Parking is on the street in the village if you are quick enough. Toilets are also in the village but no toilets around Malham Cove so make sure you went before 😉 path is easy enough for anybody however if you want to climb to the top you'll need to be ready for thousands of steep steps. Fascinating to watch the rock-climbers in action. Fabulous place to visit!
Ivana B — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Malham Cove is stunning! The limestone cliff is incredible to see up close, and the walk to the top is definitely worth it for the amazing views. The limestone pavement at the top is unique and really special. A great place for walking, exploring, or just taking in the scenery. Peaceful, beautiful, and unforgettable – highly recommend a visit! It is a bit of a trek and quite tiring!
Haaroon Y — Google review
Hard to know where to begin with a place like this. From the first glimpses of the cove on the approach to the views from the limestone pavement at the top, every step is a feast for the senses. Before you head straight for the top check out the glade at the base of the cove first. Almost surreal in it's beauty, it is the sort of place you never really want to leave, and in a sense I never will having carried a bit of it away with me in memory. Every step up towards the top provides sweeping vistas of the surrounding countryside to enjoy. Not the easiest of walks, had to take advantage of several opportunities to rest on the way. The reward for your efforts though is worth it. An otherworldly landscape of limestone slabs and the deep fissures between them. Mind your footing as you cross but make sure you fully explore everything (views and all) that the top has to offer. An absolute must see destination in its own right. Put this on your to do list now if it's not already there.

We arrived around 9am and there was some free car parking on the road. The main car park was full. Public toilets are clean with signs regarding routes. We did the circular route which was great for mixed ages but is moderate. Beautiful scenery. Nice cafes at the start and finish for a cuppa and slice of cake.

This is Mother Nature at its best!! Absolutely breathtaking scenery once you’ve reached the top. The limestone pavement is a marvel and the views across the Dales is spectacular!! Our dog loved the walk!! There’s a number of steps, sometimes uneven, so be careful. But it’s worth the climb to get there!!

Parked at the visitor centre, 2+ hours £6 ,pay by card only. Toilets and a little shop in the VC. Tea shop and pub within 2 mins walking. Walked to Janet's Foss in approx. 25 mins, then continued onto Malham Cove. This part is uphill but not overly difficult. Circular walk, we took it easy and completed it in just over 2 hours. Parking can be an issue as it’s a tiny residential spot, so quaint & cute. We tucked ourselves in at a grass verge at the beginning of the path. You will pass a bakery which has an honesty cafe with seats, drinks and a big selection of covered cakes & a few souvenirs. There are also toilets which were clean & stocked. The route is steep & stoney underfoot. Even with a decent level of fitness there is no denying it is a workout on the thighs! Took about 20 min before reaching the Folly on the left. Enter into the stone tunnel and another left will take you into the balcony to admire the waterfall, which was better than I expected. You can continue on through the stone tunnel to a road where you can continue climbing the hill, do the circular route passing some nice bridges and see the balcony from the opposite side, or return the way you came. Best to view after rainfall. Popular dog walking spot. Definitely worth the stop & the bakery was a delightful find. They have won several Best Of awards.

Fairly flat most of the way. Shady in some parts too. Scenic but can be busy and also noisy at the waterfall. Fairly short walk too but worth a look. Parking was £8 in a field near where the trail starts in the village, cards accepted.
Jude G — Google review
Came here on the back of a walk over from Malham Cove, through Goredale Scar, and this works as a perfect extension of that route. Also as a return route to Malham I think this works a lot better than simply retracing your steps backwards. It has the added advantage of being a lot flatter for those who's legs might by now be feeling a little defeated by it all. The waterfall itself is everything you would expect from one of Yorkshires wild places. Lush green vegetation fringes the clear waters as they cascade downwards. A picture perfect scene, though you will likely be competing with numerous other visitors to take the shot. Also saw some wild swimmers here (a popular spot apparently) though I don't think I personally would be easily persuaded into the equivalent of a cold bath in a public place. The walk onwards is enjoyable and filled with sufficient interest to easily compete with the first leg of the walk. The initial stretch is very rocky and could be challenging for the mobility impaired visitor. Also take care if you are tempted into the crossing on a conveniently felled log along the route. The child in me jumped on with barely a thought for my own personal safety. The adult then realized that logs don't seem nearly as wide when you are on them.

My wife and I love the Lake District and are relative newcomers to the Yorkshire Dales. However, from the trip we did earlier this year, we love it and one of the main reasons is the number of beautiful waterfalls Janet’s Foss was one of our favourite finds and has the bonus of a beautiful small pond to dip your feet in. The hardest part of getting there is driving down narrow country roads to get to Malham where the walk begins There’s a decent sized car park with toilets and a gift shop. The walk to Janet’s Foss is about 30 minutes direct along a flat route running beside a bubbling brook. The waterfall itself is beautiful with a small pond at its base You can continue on the route to see the Gordale Scar and Malham Cove - this is definitely more strenuous! If you can turn back to the village

Janet's Foss is a lovely place to visit, although when we arrived it was busy but in a short time became overcrowded and we couldn't fully appreciate it's beauty. The walk up from Malham is a nice walk and fairly easy. I would recommend going on a week day and when the weather isn't at its best as it would hopefully be quieter and a much more enjoyable experience.

Gordale Scar is a stunning limestone formation in the Yorkshire Dales, featuring a deep-sided gorge with waterfalls and a stream. Nearby Malham Cove is an impressive landscape feature, with its towering silver limestone face. The circuit from Malham to Malham Tarn and down to Malham Cove offers a geologically impressive walk, including the pulse-quickening scramble of the tufa waterfall at Gordale Scar.
Prepare to be captivated by Gordale Scar! Its stunning natural beauty and unique landscape offer an incredible experience, from exhilarating rock climbing to fascinating educational insights. Plus, there's a certain ethereal quality that makes it easy to imagine anything from ancient legends to unexplained aerial phenomena unfolding around you - truly a place of wonder!

Visited here on the back end of a walk straight from the top of Malham cove. This area acts as a perfect continuation of that route and as you would expect contains stunning views of the rugged landscape at every turn. The sheer scale of the place means that even when busy with other visitors it is not difficult to find your own space from which to marvel at the wonder of it all. Would have liked to have walked right up to the waterfall at the head of the Scar, but regrettably access was restricted during my visit due to recent rockfall. Views from the limit of the pathway were still worth the journey to get there though, and I can hardly mark a place down for nature doing what nature does. The pathway itself is well compacted graded gravel, and I think would provide reasonably good access for the mobility impaired visitor. Better than I have seen at many other outdoor / natural locations. Refreshments were available from a van nearby, but be aware the nearest toilet facilities I know of are back in Malham. A long walk if you are caught short.

Gordale Scar is, without a doubt, one of the most dramatically beautiful natural sights in the UK. We visited this iconic place on 9 August 2025. Forget the photos, they simply don't capture the sheer scale and raw power of this collapsed limestone cavern. From the moment you walk through the campsite field and turn the corner, the towering 100-meter-high cliffs of the gorge rise up, creating an atmosphere that feels ancient and primal. It's easy to see why artists and poets have been inspired here for centuries. The light barely penetrates the chasm, giving it a cool, slightly eerie, and utterly magical feeling. The main attraction is the waterfall at the end of the scar. Be aware to pass it and complete the circular walk over the top, you must scramble up the waterfall. This is not a simple path; the rocks are often wet, slick with tufa deposits & require good balance and strong footwear. If you aren't comfortable with a strenuous, slippery climb, please take the alternative, signposted path around the top. Gordale Scar is best enjoyed as part of the famous Malham circular walk, linking it with the beautiful Janet's Foss waterfall (a gentler, mossy cascade) and the magnificent Malham Cove limestone pavement. There is limited roadside parking near the start of the walk, but it's often better to park at the National Park Centre in Malham village and walk up. This isn't just a viewpoint; it's an adventure. Whether you are gazing up at the colossal rock walls or bravely scrambling beside the crashing water, Gordale Scar is an unforgettable, five-star experience that showcases the wild heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Go, but wear your hiking boots...

A fantastic piece of nature and a beautiful waterfall that is hidden within a scar. This is a lovely place to stop and have a snack/break when exploring the area with great protection from the wind and sun on hot days.

Worth the walk to see the waterfall! It’s very popular too! Once we got towards the waterfall, there were signs saying the footpath was closed due to falling rocks. However, folks ignored it and some climbed to the waterfall.
Elisa W — Google review
if all trails tells you to go up the waterfall to go around the top, don't. from a non rock climber there is pretty much nothing that looks even scalable. but this place is CRAZY. the size is overwhelming and vertigo inducing. walking along the path there, and back through the field along the stream is really nice. some people leave rubbish around, so try and pick it up if you find it.

The Wheatsheaf Hotel offers comfortable accommodations with complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi in a cozy establishment. The hotel boasts a charming pub and restaurant, providing homemade dishes that are well-received by patrons. The portions are generous, and the prices are reasonable. Friendly service is provided by polite staff members. In addition to the inviting interior, there is a spacious beer garden for enjoying sunny weather, as well as ample parking facilities.
A lovely little place for an impromptu overnight stop. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was standard pub grub, but done to a very high standard. Room was clean and spacious, and the bed comfy. Great value for money, considering the location.

Had food here Seafood medley it was full of grease and made me vomit. Definitely don’t have that My partner had scampi and chips and the chips were raw too We are local but won’t be back for food unfortunately. Apart from that the place is lovely on a sunny day for a drink only in future for us though. Maybe a bad day but has put us off

Stayed 2 nights with friends in September. Room comfortable, good quality tea and coffee, lovely and clean. Evening meals were good, reasonably priced and very generous portions! The staff deserve a special mention - everyone was very welcoming, helpful and just generally really nice. Exceptional service, thank you. Good location for exploring this area of the Dales. Good price, especially if booked direct.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Wheatsheaf in Ingleton — where “just popping in for one” somehow turns into a full afternoon. The staff are always delightful, like they’ve been specially trained in the art of making you feel at home (or maybe they’re just naturally that nice). The food? Plentiful. You don’t leave here hungry — you leave here planning when you can justify coming back. The beer garden is always awesome, whether you’re soaking up the sun or pretending the drizzle is “atmospheric.” And the lattes… oh, the lattes. Truly lovely — smooth, creamy, and exactly what you need before convincing yourself you’re walking off the calories on the waterfall trail. 10/10 would recommend. 0/10 chance of leaving without a smile.

Didn't stay but had a lovely meal after visiting the waterfalls. They also have a menu for dogs, so she was thrilled to join us for dinner for once. Forgot to get pictures of the food as we were all too hungry, but it was amazing and great value for money!

Been here twice over the weekend. Prices are fair and the food was great. Burger was a little greasy but edible. Service was OK and the some of the staff appeared to be happy 😉. Great location 👍 Very dog friendly

We’ve stayed here a couple of times when visiting Ingleton and will continue to do so. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, comfy beds, quiet area so we get good nights sleep. You can hear some noise from the pub which is expected but this quietened down in the evening so did not affect sleep at all.

We booked a mail when we were on holiday at the end of July of this year we found the food to be acceptable but nothing that would make it more competitive with the surrounding restaurant availability near immediate area looking forward in particular to the pies found that very average quite disappointed When I asked could I substitute the chips for salad? It refused but they could offer salad a side dish I have health conditions that prohibited me from having chips in general genuinely disappointed found it quite unacceptable and we certainly will not be going back there again.

The Lister Arms is a charming stone pub that offers country-chic rooms, some featuring fireplaces, and traditional dining. Situated in Malham village, it stands out among the few excellent pubs in the area. The old coaching inn boasts original features and serves food made from locally-sourced ingredients along with cask ales.
Lovely comfortable stay! I had a cosy double room and it certainly was! The bed was very comfy and the entire room was to a high standard with an array of coffee and tea to keep me going. The pub itself is well kept, cosy and welcoming. The breakfast and dinner quality was excellent and extremely filling. All the staff were friendly, professional and nothing was too much trouble!

The Afternoon Tea… wow. ‘Miniature’ versions of the main menu items, with an alcoholic drink (I went for the peach bellini) and a pot of tea or coffee, for £35! I was served soup, a steak pie, fish & chips, chicken strips, chips, a cheese steak burger. All with a jug of gravy, mushy peas & a hot sauce. As well as all this there were 3 desserts; a warm apple crumble, freshly baked scone with cream and jam and a mini chocolate cake. Mamma mia. The guy said nobody finishes the whole thing and always asks to take some away with them, which I reluctantly did due to having no room left in belly for rest of day. Bear in mind you have to book the afternoon tea 24 hours in advance but it’ll be the best meal you’ve ever anticipated. The main course meals I didn’t get a chance to try but they were the biggest finest looking plates of food you’ve ever seen. Shout out to the amazing friendly, funny and not overbearing staff who seemed to remember all their clientele even though most people are passing through for just a day or two. Dead cosy proper-pub vibes for a nightcap by the fire too on your way home. A million out of ten pub x

What a pub! I can’t rate the rooms but they have 23 of them! The pub is lovely, warm in temperature and hospitality. Staff are brilliant! The food was delicious! The best fish pie 🥧 I’ve ever had……including my own homemade. The food was a good size not too big. The coffee was also delicious! Love the homemade biscuits. All in all a wonderfully run pub. We will be back!

We had an amazing stay at The Lister Arms in Malham! The room was cosy and comfortable with lovely exposed beams, and it was wonderfully quiet. The bed was super comfy and perfect for a great night’s sleep after a big walk. The shower was hot with excellent water pressure (very important to me!) and was absolutely perfect. The food was fantastic—the Yorkshire Burger with chorizo jam is an absolute must-try! We also had the fish and chips, beef short rib, steak pie, treacle tart, and sticky toffee pudding sundae, all of which were five-star. Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had, with a really tasty fry-up and a great selection on the continental side too. The staff were so friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home in true Yorkshire style. Not just dog-friendly, but dog-enthusiastic! It’s also perfectly located—you can make it part of a lovely two-hour loop walk taking in Malham Cove and Janet’s Foss. Can’t wait to stay again!

Had a lovely 2 night stay in September. The room was very cosy and well stocked. There was a large bathroom with both a shower and bath, perfect after a long walk. The restaurant had launched their Autumn menu and this was delicious. I’d recommend the Short Beef Rib, which was fantastic. Very conveniently located for the circular walk to Malham Cove / Gorsdale Scar. Would definitely stay again.

Beautifully kept old pub, we were well looked after by all staff. Were given a room upgrade. Evening meal was lovely and breakfast excellent. Bed a little squeaky and room very warm but overall an excellent stay and we'd definitely come back. Special thanks to the Manager for making us so welcome.

Perfect location for Malham hiking and visiting the cove. Great service, atmosphere and people. Loved the dog friendly bar and dining, breakfast service included a sausage for the pooch which was a nice touch. It’s an old building so the rooms have some… camber? But they’re quiet and comfortable.

Our experience at The Lister Arms was wonderful . From the moment we arrived, the staff impressed us with their genuine warmth and attentive service, making us feel instantly at ease. Our room radiated a welcoming charm, complete with a generously sized bathroom, a very comfortable bed and great amenities including home baked cookies and The White Company toiletries. The culinary offerings were equally memorable—dinner was a delight, and breakfast was the perfect start to our day. Nestled in a picturesque location, The Lister Arms provides an ideal base for exploring the surrounding countryside. I would unreservedly recommend this charming retreat to anyone seeking a peaceful and rejuvenating escape.

Aysgarth Falls in Yorkshire Dales National Park Visitor Centre is a picturesque spot featuring a series of cascading waterfalls set amidst lush woodlands. The falls cover a one-mile stretch of the River Ure and are best seen during wet weather when thousands of gallons of water cascade over wide limestone steps. The surrounding area offers opportunities for walks, woodland hikes, and picnics.
Had a lovely day out with family. Beautiful spot for picnic and nice walks. Everyone enjoyed the day. Falls are picturesque and scenic. We went there after a long period of dry spell so not much water .. still it looked stunning. Less water has its own advantages as we were able to cross the river using stepping stones. I don’t think it would be possible if the river is full. Ample parking. Take your own food and water. I will definitely recommend this place for picnics and walks.
Ashfaque S — Google review
This is the sort of place where every which way you look is another perfectly framed view just waiting to be captured. Perfect for an absolute amateur photographer like myself who needs all the help he can get. I would imagine it to be stunning at any time of year, but was particularly beautiful with the first of the autumn colour fringing the edges of the river. Another attraction of this is that it does not depend on good weather to be enjoyed. In fact a spell of wet weather before you arrive will leave the falls in full spate and positively enhance the experience. If you are getting down direct to the waters edge tread carefully. The rocks can be slippery when wet, particularly if you are watching the falls and not your feet.

Lovely national park with some stunning waterfalls and walks. Best get there early though as the car park by the visitor centre gets very busy throughout the day during half terms or school hols. Nice little cafe in the visitors centre.

Wonderful place to visit and explore. We did the short walks to see the 3 falls (all beautiful and a real sense of the power of nature), and also a route from the bottom of the main carpark which took us over fields to a charming village. We’ll definitely be back to walk the circular route to Bolton Castle. Highly recommend planning your trip to be there over lunch, the tearoom on the bridge was excellent!

I absolutely love Aysgarth falls! I use to go every year during summer when on camping trips. I have recently gone again after a few years and took my partner who had never been. It was as beautiful as I remember. We went car camping in a near by car park and we when to the falls first thing in the opening. It’s great for dogs too! Plus, my partner was loving the fact that Robin Hood was films there!

Amazing little haven, Yorkshire really is a beautiful county. It has 3 falls, top middle bottom. The middle falls is basically just a viewing platform, but the top and bottom can be accessed for close up and engaging views. Lovely place. Worth a visit. Parking is cheaper at the main car park. The cafe before the hill down to the falls is more expensive. Paid £7 for 4 hrs. N ya can get same for up to full day in main car park at bottom between the falls.

Bolton Castle, completed in 1399, is one of the best-preserved medieval castles in the country. Nestled in the heart of Wensleydale, it offers stunning views over the Yorkshire Dales. Originally built as a luxurious home, it still retains its outstanding condition with numerous rooms and features to explore, providing insight into its turbulent past spanning over 600 years.
We had a fantastic time at Bolton Castle! The weather was sunny and perfect for a picnic on the lawn. Alice was wonderful, showing us the beautiful birds at the falconry and demonstrating the archery in the courtyard. We also loved our tour of the castle, especially seeing the room where Mary Queen of Scots stayed, and we had fun feeding the wild boars and getting lost in the maze. A perfect day out!

£48 to go in for a family of 4. £5 to park so we parked in the village for free. The people doing the show and talks were really great (archery/ owls / Mary queen of Scot’s). Kids LOVED the maze. The gardens are really well kept. We bought some herbs. Great day out. The owl aviaries seemed a bit bland and could have done with some more enrichment but owls seemed happy and in good health. Really well kept castle. Would recommend. Also great views from the top.

We stopped by this castle in the middle of a long hike and were delighted to find that the gardens, cafe, and some of the interior are free to access for those passing by! There is a P&D car park with free outdoor toilets and an adorable herd of wild boar. They are very friendly to visitors and so cute. 🦮✅These areas are also dog friendly, although the main ticketed interior museum is not dog friendly. If you have a dog, there is a "dog friendly" area of the cafe just for you. The staff were very friendly and brought us water and treats too! ☕️ The cafe offers oat milk and has a wide selection of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free cakes and drinks. Everything is clearly labelled and gluten free food is separated.

We had a great time, our second visit, last here in 2020. It was windy today so the owl display was taken indoors but still excellent. Some great views from the castle and nice grounds to walk round. If you want to venture further there are a couple of public footpaths starting from the castle grounds. Enjoyed seeing the wild boars.

A fabulous castle with gardens, shop and cafe, good but not free parking. Cafe had a good selection of sandwiches, quiche, pie and delicious cakes, hot and cold drinks. Had a bird of prey display too.

What a great day out! The castle is extraordinary and you get some awesome views. The gardens are gorgeous with a maze, vinery, herb and dye gardens. We went to the cafe too which had limited choices but it was fine and inside the castle which added to it's charm.

A stunning piece of history. Beautiful gardens and a well-maintained castle, including its ruined parts, make for a brilliant experience. The staff were also extremely knowledgeable and happy to take time out their day for a chat about the castle and its history.

Majestic and beautiful castle. Events from medieval period with volunteers dressed up as medieval knights, Lords and maids and showcasing activities and sword fights. The gardens are very well maintained and beautiful. Falconry events were being hosted. Lovely day out. Highly recommended. Please do buy wristbands to see castle and Gardens as all money go towards preserving the castle as it is now.

The Wensleydale Creamery Visitor Centre is a must-visit destination in Hawes, offering a unique experience for cheese enthusiasts and food lovers. The center features live cheese-making demonstrations and an impressive cheese room where visitors can sample different varieties of the famous Wensleydale cheese. Additionally, the on-site shop offers a wide range of cheeses, dairy products, hampers, and deli boxes for purchase.
Had a great time here, probably helps that I love cheese. Staff very friendly and efficient. Reasonable prices. Excellent cafe. Enjoyed the cheese making experience and tastings. We probably rushed it a little as we needed to drive home. Worth a visit only £5.75 and if you pick up a leaflet from various outlets you can get 2 for 1

Loved the Cheese Experience which was fun and informative. The shop and cheese room is full of delights to buy. However the restaurant really let it down. Overpriced for the quality received, tables available but told full initially and there seemed to be chaos amongst younger staff working out table spaces at front of restaurant yet ignoring those waiting to be seated or to find out if there is space. Restaurant was really completely disappointing.
Claire K — Google review
I visited the Wensleydale Creamery with my two young daughters (ages 1 and 4) and we all had a lovely time. The demonstration on how cheese is made was really interesting, and it was great to be able to view the factory in action. The cheese tasting was a highlight for me – so many varieties to try, and all delicious. I also found the prices in the shop and café to be very reasonable, which was a nice surprise. My girls especially enjoyed the interactive parts of the visitor experience, which kept them engaged and made it fun for the whole family. Overall, it’s a great place for both adults and children to enjoy. I’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the Yorkshire Dales.

I just love cheese of any description, and with my own history of working in the dairy industry a visit here was a bit of a no brainer really. The cheese making demonstration followed by tasting was an absolute highlight. Nice to see they had put out some Wensleydale and fruit cake samples to try. The two together just work so well. Regrettably there was no actual cheese production to watch from the viewing gallery during my visit, but I can hardly fault them on account of their production schedule. The cheese shop is also a must visit, more so than the equally well stocked gift shop in my opinion. Well laid out and with samples of each flavour available to try before you buy. I did a lot of trying, and then of course a little buying. Be prepared for the cold in here though, presumably to help keep the cheese fresh.

Wensleydale creamery visitors centre and Calverts Restaurant is in Hawes, in literally the heart/ middle of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The staff had spot on customer service/ hospitality. In shop, cheese shop and the restaurant. They have a small visiter car park, but the is a large car park 150 yds down the road, which is a pay car park. The Wensleydale creamery experience you need to buy tickets for online. In Calverts restaurant, we were lucky to get a table, many people turned away and had to book. For 2 meal,a side & 2 drinks cost £36. The meal was delicious 😋. I will post pictures. The cheese shop was very busyand wasnice to taste other cheeses. 🧀 😋 Will show also in pictures as well as the gift shop. The gift shop was like going in a candy shop as there was loads of items to buy and gifts. Some items was expensive but others not so bad. Ice-cream cost £3.50 each. I totally recommend. Wheelchair friendly and has blue badge parking.
Anne S — Google review
It certainly looked like fun when reading about it online. But when we visited on Sept 27, the place was absolutely packed. There was no parking in the visitor lot, so we needed to use the Pay & Display lot located down the street. I had hoped for a lovely cheese type tea in the restaurant, but had not realized that booking was necessary. I would have had to wait an hour, and I wasn't willing to do that with so many people crowding around. We opted to go to the "fast food" counter and order cheese scones, each of which came with a walloping amount of butter. I ordered the cappuccino to go with it. I felt a bit like splurging. The scones were OK. I wouldn't say they were outstanding. So, overall, I'd say my experience was disappointing, and I'm one who usually gets excited by simple things!
Barbara G — Google review
This was great fun. We didn't book in advance but it turns out that we didn't need to. The demonstration how to make Wensleydale cheese was very informative (And we used a 2 for 1 offer), full of information on the surrounding area and the instructor/demonstrator was a very likable gent. When we finished, we did have a booking in the restaurant and went for the tea for two which was a full on cheese overload! The staff did forget our drinks order so the wife had to go and reminded them, but apart from that the service was OK. It was a nice and relaxed atmosphere and reasonably priced for this day and age :-). The shop was chock full of nice gifts and I couldn't resist a new water bottle (Have you seen this chicken? IYKYK). The cheese shop was brilliant, being able to test all the cheeses before making a purchase. The surrounding area is beautiful and the drive to and from was a pleasure.

Hardraw Force

Scenic spot
Located in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, Hardraw Force is a must-see attraction for nature lovers. As England's highest unbroken waterfall, it cascades over a limestone cliff with a single drop of around 100 feet, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Visitors can also explore the nearby Hardraw Force Heritage Centre to learn about the area's history and natural wonders.
Beautiful hideaway yet accessible. It’s an hour just outside Durham. Fantastic for a day trip. £4 entrance fee- note that cash is the preferred payment method. 10 min walk from entrance to the waterfall itself. Hiking boots not required Take a book or a sandwich and chill out listening to the sound of the water 🧘‍♀️
Binta S — Google review
Beautiful single-drop waterfall- you can't capture its size or beauty on camera. You can mark at the attraction, or a few miles away if you want to follow one of the many of the circular walks which include this stop. There are also some ruins of ancient buildings, and a beautiful river to see within the ticketed area. At the base of the waterfall is a deep, clear pool where you can wild swim. This is a great stop for the whole family! There is a short walk to the falls from the entrance, or a longer walk (around 2km total) which goes up to the top of the waterfall and back down. If you start by following the right-hand entrance, there are newly built stairs to the top. The other side features a natural stone "staircase" which is very steep and unstable in places, although there are safety barriers. 🎟️ You do have to pay to get in as the land is privately owned and maintained but this is well worth it as the place is stunning with no litter. It is only £4 per person and you can pay cash, card, or contactless. All of the paths, stairs, and bridges are in excellent condition. There is a small cafe when you enter/ exit and everything is reasonably priced with friendly staff! 🦮✅ Dog friendly! The waterfall, forest, and cafe are all dog friendly.
April W — Google review
We didn't know before we visited that this is a privately owned waterfall and grounds and the task of keeping this going and the upkeep must be phenomenal to the standard that it is and breaking it up into 3 different routes for visitors is excellent 👏 and throw in the coffee ☕️ shop and visitors centre it's ideal 👏. Better still there is a pub at the entrance 😀 and a beautiful church ⛪️ next door to visit at the same time ⏲️.
Vincent W — Google review
45 mins to walk both routes. Nowhere really to sit near the waterfall so can't really spend much time at it. Nice to see but would only go back after a downpour however I feel they would close access if there was. No access without jumping privately owned walls or fences. Didn't want to but a drink or cake as we had to pay for access.

My partner and I went car camping near by and he wanted to go to Hardraw Force as he’s never been before. I use to go every summer when my family camped near by and I’ve always loved going! He absolutely loved it! We went mid morning on a Saturday and I’d wasn’t busy! We did pay £8 for the both of us to go in. It was nice to take the dog too!

Yorkshire and nature at it's finest. Dedicated car park with toilets and cafe. Lovely welcome by the staff. £4 each to get through to a stunning walk on well maintained paths. Absolutely gorgeous waterfall and pool.

The highest single drop falls in England of 100 feet looks spectacular, even in this summer drought. As a bonus, the road back to the motorway, the A684, is a stunning stretch of countryside road that gives a fantastic view of the Howgill hills. Hardraw Force is a stunning waterfall situated just off the A684, which runs along the length of Wensleydale, a truly beautiful stretch of English countryside. It sits in an estate behind the Green Dragon pub, a handy satnav setting, and costs £4 at time of writing. They prefer cash. There are also full toilet facilities and a cafe. Parking is restricted, about 12-15 spaces but there is also off road parking by the Old School House. The path is firm and wide and suitable for all visitors and only about half a mile long. There are plenty of benches and tables to sit and picnic and a variety of trails around the rest of the estate. Many waterfalls are difficult to get to but Hardraw is totally accessible and stunning to see.

Had an enjoyable stay at Simonstone Hotel! I dont know about the reviews but i believe that the venue had a nice personal touch to it and I met with really friendly staffs who helped along the way. I personally felt that dinner was pretty good there too! Pls try the Lamb! And the dessert was good. Breakfast was hearty and it felt homey for us. Oh and another thing i liked were the animals on site. It was a good experience for us as we dont get such things from where im from! Thank you for the hospitality and it was lovely!

A hidden gem! We had a fabulous time here. We couldn’t fault it. The rooms were comfortable, the staff friendly, the location is stunning and the food very good. It’s quirky in a good way and we will return. Instead of looking for faults, maybe look outside and breathe in the gorgeous Dales fresh air, get some exercise, enjoy a drink on the terrace, the wonderful public rooms, delicious food (thanks Chef) and feel grateful !

We had an exceptional meal served on the terrace. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious and exquisitely presented. Our dog was made to feel very welcome by all the staff. The grounds are beautiful, perfect for a post-lunch wander. We will definitely be back.

It’s a fine hotel but I found the dining experience poor which is why I give it 3 stars . The wine is brought to your table already opened and that was standard practice in the dining room. The wine I ordered was not the wine delivered but I decided not to make a fuss in front of everyone as it was already opened. I took it up quietly the next day with the bar staff and manager. They agreed the error and after investigation refunded a specific amount. It doesn’t matter whether you are a wine snob or what you are paying for your wine in any decent restaurant you would expect the wine to be opened at the table Yes it’s a smart hotel and the staff very friendly but maybe they are relying too much on their past reputation

A delight. Our room had the most beautiful view of the Dales, and was well fitted out even if the bath position to share the view was more romantic than practical. Staff are attentive, welcoming and efficient, and whilst some reviews led me to expect portion sizes towards the Nouvelle end of the spectrum, that was not our experience at all. In addition to the restaurant there is a spacious bar and drawing room. The building is old, and thus creaky, and rooms might have their foibles, but best to simply embrace this - frankly that view is without price.

Lovely location and great views from the outdoor seating and restaurant windows. Overall some nice historic rooms for dining and relaxing. Sunday lunch was good if a little pricey, and tight portion control. I do however take issue when a supposedly local ale is £7.50 a pint and £3.50 for a soda and lime. Then an automatic service charge of 10% which wasn't mentioned. Had considered returning until we saw the ridiculous drinks prices. I didn't complain about the service charge as restaurant and bar staff were all eager to please and very attentive. I hope they recieve the service charge directly. Pool room with free pool was a nice touch, but was very dim with no windows and in need of a refresh. Ultimately a countryside hotel with ideas of granduar and prices to match but fails to meet these lofty ambitions. Great service from the staff Great view but very rural location and ultimately probably not worth the trip due to very high prices.

Couldn't fault this place. Staff were great, food was awesome. Rooms were amazing, (bathroom may be a bit tired). Haven't played pool for ages games room was wonderful treat. Real treasure. Had a lovely 10 min walk down to Hardraw falls

Just dropped in for a drink and snack whilst I waited for friends. I sat in a very cosy lounge which had all been refurbished since I last visited and looked great. There were plenty of people outside in the sun on the terrace. The service was friendly and efficient and the food and drink was great. Having been a few years ago where the service was slow and the whole place looking a little tired, it looks as though they’ve undergone a big revamp. Would return and recommend. EV chargers for two cars and a modest amount of parking.

Fish and chips takeaway
"The Chippie" is a traditional fish and chip shop located in Hawes, offering a delightful menu of classic British fare. Visitors can enjoy high-quality fish, such as cod or haddock, served in crispy batter cooked in beef dripping. The establishment provides the option for takeaway or dining in and has received praise for its fresh and delicious offerings. Customers have highlighted the exceptional quality of the food, with crispy chips and flavorful battered fish.
Wow wow wow! Large servings and the cod was amazing! The best part for me was the curry sauce which was magnificent! Ordered a 2nd round of it. Manage to dine in on a Sat Evening & saw a queue for takeaways! It feels like Chippies is making the town feel alive! Must try when in Hawes!
Aaron C — Google review
The best chip shop in the area! The food was so good, I forgot to take a picture until I was halfway through... Safe to say, everything is delicious, freshly made, and high quality. There is a long queue every evening for dinner so get there in good time, even if you want takeaway. The queue is closed at 8pm, but they usually continue serving until the existing queue has been served. There is a free car park with public toilets only a minute walk up the road.

Stopped here for lunch after visiting the Wensleydale Creamery. The fish and chips were overcooked and was too oily (oil temperature too low?). It wasn't really seasoned much either so had to add a lot of malt vinegar and salt. The mayo, tartar sauce, and HP sauce were given in small packets and some of them were expired. Honestly didn't expect much for fish and chips in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales, so I'm not devastated or anything, and I honestly doubt anything else in the area would do much better food-wise. Service was quick and staff were lovely though!

Superb quality fish, fried to perfection, unfortunately the chips weren’t as good as the fish, really scrappy and dry, not terrible, but no way as good as the fish. Having said that, will definitely return if in the area

Aysgarth Falls Hotel & Restaurant is a charming establishment that offers comfortable rooms and a cozy wood-beamed pub with a fireside restaurant. The menu features delightful dishes such as smoked salmon and pumpernickel rillette, gravadlax, and cake with Wensleydale cheese. Situated near Aysgarth Falls, it's an ideal spot for visitors to refuel before or after exploring the picturesque surroundings of the Yorkshire Dales.
From the moment we arrived at this hotel we knew we’d made the right choice. As we had the dog with us, we were given one of the cottages. This was the perfect size for the 4 of us, having a kitchen, fridge and even a dishwasher. The patio was huge and private allowing us to relax without worrying about our dog getting out, while enjoying the fantastic views. We had dinner in the attached restaurant. I had the Sunday roast which was absolutely amazing. I have coeliac disease (so no Yorkshire pudding) but the staff were extremely attentive of my dietary needs and couldn’t do enough for us. My husband and son had the burger each, which was huge and ‘the best burger’ they’d ever had. My husband isn’t normally one for exaggerating about food, so it must have been good. My daughter had the fish and chips which was massive. It definitely went down well after exploring the falls. After a peaceful nights sleep we enjoyed the breakfast - full English for us and pancakes for my son. The service was phenomenal, the staff couldn’t have been more friendly or welcoming. I fully recommend this for anyone exploring the Dales and we will definitely be back. Well done to the team!

Just been for Sunday dinner. It was fabulous. Plenty of meat, a great choice of vegetables, mash and roasts. Great Yorkshire pudding and lovely gravy. The staff was spot on. Great service and a lovely pint of Black Sheep to wash it down We will return thanks

Loved it, from walking through the door, great. We were allocated a room in the cottage next to the pub, lovely room, spotlessly clean, really quiet, just a pity this was just an overnight stay. Food in the pub was really good, bit pricey, but large portions so I suppose it makes up for it Breakfast in the morning was superb, cereals, fruit, yoghurt etc and then freshly cooked hot food, set us up for the day. Nothing bad to say about this place, and put it with the stunning area, it has to be highly recommended

Good food, friendly staff, sloooooow service. Had lunch here on Saturday & Sunday dinner while staying at the campsite up the road. Lovely place, nice food, lovely staff.. have never waited so long for the menu, the drinks, the food, the dessert menu, the bill.. and the empty glasses were never cleared. Went in at 2pm, came out at 5pm and only then because we hassled them. On the Saturday we'd popped in on the off chance and we're told they weren't accepting walk ins so ordered drinks, booked a table online, then asked it to be made earlier (as in for now) wasn't a problem, they weren't busy. The Sunday dinner we'd booked in advance.

Excellent Hotel and thoughtfull rooms in a great location for exploring the falls and the wider local Yorkshire area. Smart staff, great service and good food. Will be even better once the get the garden pods/ rooms up and running. Highly recommended will visit again 👍🏼

We only went in for one drink after a hike so can't comment on the rooms. But the staff were friendly and we sat outside in the beer garden. It was pretty empty at the time we went but I can imagine it gets quite full. He wouldn't serve my son or his girlfriend with alcohol (even though they are in their mid-twenties) they had no ID on them so not the barman's fault. It was a nice little hotel/pub really so I would pop in again if we are in the area.

We went for dinner at the bar and it was a bit disappointing. The food was ok: portions were small, fish and chips were very good steak was a bit chewy, puddings were very nice. The thing that really let it down was the service. It was very slow and we had to go to the bar a few times to chase ordering drinks, puddings, getting menus etc. We’d gone to the Wheatsheaf Inn a couple of nights before and it was a much much better.

We’ve visited this village pub for meals before but this was our first overnight stay. Room was well equipped & a good size. Staff very friendly & helpful. The highlight of the stay was the food. We ate from the a la carte menu which was excellent quality, like you’d get in a good quality restaurant. There was also a pub grub menu available which looked good & cost less! This pub is in an excellent location for walking or exploring the northern Dales, we’re happy to recommend it, and we’re looking forward to a return visit.

I didn't stay here so can't comment on the rooms. We called for Sunday Roast and it was fantastic. They were busier than expected and therefore short staffed. However, the only waitress/bar tender/front of house was Daisy. She was calm, professional, friendly and efficient. The floated gracefully between tables, kitchen and bar. Later, a second waiter appeared to help her out and of course the chef (owner?) was also busy in the kitchen. The menu at lunchtime was purely Sunday Roast. The 4 adults had starters and then I had the ham, my husband had beef and my son and his wife had pork with crispy crackling. The children had very generously portioned spaghetti with meatballs and chicken nuggets (homemade) with fries and peas. Each adult meal came with a Yorkshire pudding and side dishes of extra veg Inc creamy leeks, cauli cheese and broccoli . The meats were served with roast potatoes, honey roast carrots and parsnips. And gravy of course. It was all amazing and delicious. No room for desserts unfortunately. Maybe next time we will skip starters. Although.. They too were delicious! We will be back when next in the Yorkshire Dales.

Visited on a Sunday. Easy to find, well signposted, plenty of parking. The routes were easy to follow and there are wider routes available if you eish to go off piste a bit. Dogs allowed on a lead. The rocks themselves fascinating to look at and you can climb most if you wish. It was a bit busy for my liking but worth a visit.
Jude G — Google review
Great place to visit with kids to get them away from a computer/phone screen to enjoy nature, to play hide and seek amongst the rocks. I remember my parents taking me and my siblings to play and how much fun we had back in the day. Our most recent visit saw families doing exactly what we did, spending quality time together.

Brilliant place for an active day out. It goes without saying that it can be rather precarious when climbing so be sure to dress appropriately. Dog friendly, plenty of space for a picnic, a few on site food trucks and thats all you'll need. They do charge to use the onsite car park, but it was only a few Pounds for the whole day. You're also close to Ripon, which is a nice place to swing by afterwards or you can walk to the Rocks from there if you're able!
Adam S — Google review
What an awesome place. It’s massive with a maze of twisting paths and interesting rock structures, lovely heather and ancient oak trees. It’s a perfect place to bring kids for a runabout and picnic. The car park is national trust so be a member or expect to pay a lot to park. There’s an asphalt path through the rocks that makes it easy for wheelchairs and pushchairs to see the rocks. Enjoy!

A lovely place for a chilled walk especially if you have kids. They can have a lot of fun climbing rocks with varying difficulty. Site is nicely set up with parking and have manned booths for information as well as I've cream stalls.

Well worth a visit. Especially for outdoor adventure. Lots of climbing, walking and fresh air. Little cafe, clean toilets and visitors centre with information. Plenty of parking and a really unusual sight with spectacular views.

Incredible landscape of sandstone rock formations of myriad shapes and sizes, most situated on open ground, with some hidden in lush woodland. Brimham Rocks comprises one of the largest areas of rock formations in the UK, with some spectacular examples of large rocks balanced on narrow bases, towering stacks, and a multitude of amazing shapes. The area also benefits from superb panoramic views over miles of surrounding countryside, overlooking the town of Harrogate and landmarks including Drax Power Station and RAF Menwith Hill. The site is well managed by the National Trust, with plenty of paid parking (free for members), and a refreshments kiosk and toilet facilities at the centre of the reserve. The main paths are well surfaced and provide easy access to some of the biggest rocks, buildings and trig point at the centre of the area, but to see everything you'll need to negotiate some narrower, steeper trails. The area's accessibility and close proximity to Harrogate means it can get very busy on weekends, particularly during peak season, so I'd advise arriving first thing in the morning if you prefer a quieter visit. I've seen striking rock formations in widespread locations including Staffordshire, Sussex and Fife, but no other individual location has matched the variety and extent of Brimham Rocks. A unique place, and a must see for landscape photographers and those with an interest in geology. I spent a bit over 3 hours exploring every corner of the area.

Stump Cross Caverns is a network of natural limestone caves and tunnels located beneath the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Specially lit walkways guide visitors through the underground passageways adorned with stunning stalagmites and stalactites. The site also features a fairy door trail for children, adding to its enchanting atmosphere. Visitors are advised to wear boots or wellies for the underground exploration, and hard hats are provided.
Such an incredible and unique experience! We loved the caves - they are breathtaking. Lovely little caffe and a great gift shop too! The staff are great and helpful. Definitely plan in advance how you will get here - if you are relying on public transport it would be best to sort that out first before booking! Great for an array of ages although some spaces can be quite tight and you have to bend over quite a bit (I’m about 5’5) - so that is just something to keep in mind. However for all who are fit and able, I highly recommend a visit :)
Courtney D — Google review
Went here with my son for a day out on the weekend. Parking is great, loads of spaces and had no trouble getting a spot. The inside of the building is a big mix of gift shop, cafe and check-in for the cave so it wasnt clear where we should have been going to get booked in. Once we found the check-in we purchased our ticket and the women who served us was incredibly nice and made us feel welcomed and excited to go down below. The cave it’s self it very tight but that is to be expected, there are a had full of seats while your down there if you need to sit down. Side note - don’t wear pants or shoes you don’t want to get dirty, the ground water has lime stone sediment in it so it will leave white marks on your shoes. The gift shop sells an incredible assortment of stones and crystals, it does say they are from the cave and suspect they aren’t. They don’t sell you standard gift shop items such as pens, pins and patches which is a shame because they are what most people collect as a reminder, I was looking to buy all 3 but ended up leaving with no souvenirs. Overall it was a pleasent experience, mainly due to the quality of the cave and the customer service of the staff. The contents of the shop could do with expanding as if you don’t like stones to buy them you don’t have anything to buy essentially.

We visited today with our 4 year old boys. What a fantastic experience! We have loved it all. We ventured in to the caves first and due to timing we managed the first half with the lights on then the walk back was in the dark with the UV torch. The kids loved it. The cafe offers great food at really reasonable prices. The staff here are so polite and pleasant and they really engaged with the children. We took part in cracking open a Geode and also panned for gems. We will absolutely return here! High recommend it

Absolutely fantastic day took my 5 year old daughter as I hadn’t been since I was her age and she absolutely loved every minute of it. The geode cracking was probably the stand out part of the day. All the staff were super friendly even in the reception area which was a bit chaotic but they were happy to help and point you in the right direction, the fossil dig was brilliant as well and then of course the caves themselves where brilliant and my daughter loved looking for the answers to the fairy door quiz. Would definitely recommend and will also definitely be back.

First time visiting Stump Cross Caverns and we absolutely loved it. The caves, especially under the UV torch looked so magical. Such a rare and amazing experience. Visited with my husband, 3 year old son & 1 year old daughter and they were all equally amazed. The staff were very nice, helpful and friendly, especially Dave. Would highly recommend. We are already planning our next family day out to visit again !

Second time visiting and still a wonderful experience. Brought our 2 grandchildren aged 9 and 7, both of whom have interest in fossils, dynasties and rocks. They loved it. Fantastic experience underground. Sadly I suffer from a bad back and there is a lot of low headroom areas so I had to double back halfway through as my back was hurting and I didn't was the embarrassment of calling out cave rescue. Nevertheless it was a great experience especially for children. The staff were warm and welcoming and there is a cafe there which appears popular with locals and visitors alike ..it is in the middle of nowhere...some amazing views.

A great place to spend an hour. We had a great time exploring the caves. They give you UV torches to use and the caves glow. It is very low in places. So you do have to be pretty agile to get through. My tall husband was very glad of the hard hats we had to wear. All in all a great place to visit. We paid £51 for a family of 4 and I think that's a fair price. And there is a cafe there too. We didn't use it so I can't comment on the food but it was very busy there.

There are plenty of picnic benches, making it perfect for a relaxed day out. Our visit was made even more special by the gorgeous sunshine — it really brought the whole place to life. Highly recommended for a family day trip!

Brilliant! Fantastic play areas, tons of guinea pigs to sit with and feed / brush. All the extras like feeding the calves or horses are included in the price. Tons of seating areas to take your own food/ eat from the cafe. Nice coffee and very fancy hot chocolate. Would recommend getting a free loyalty card when you go in (although did mine half way through the visit just showed them my receipt) go 5 times and get the 6th visit free. Closed from November to February.

Really great farm, Loads of extra bits to do, tractor rides and lots of different animals to be hands on with, I would take your own food though as it was a very limited menu option. Definitely a great family day out

The kids were absolutely buzzing to visit Hesketh Farm! They loved interacting with the animals, and it was such a joy to see their excitement. The place is spotless – honestly, cleaner than many play gyms we’ve been to. Prices are very reasonable, and the views around the farm are simply breathtaking! We’ll definitely be coming back and will happily recommend it to friends 👌💯

One of our favourites for a day out with the kids. Reasonable ticket prices and you can bring your own picnic but you can also purchase food and drinks there too. The animals are well kept and there's programmes throughout the day, at least one every hour (calf feeding, goat feeding etc). Also, we went on the tractor ride which was so cool, we stopped to see a herd of cow in the middle of the field next to the farm and the farmer told us some very interesting facts about them. You can easily spend the while day here with the family, highly recommended.

Leeds Art Gallery is a must-visit destination in the city, offering a vast collection of 20th-century art and engaging mixed media displays. Visitors can also participate in crafts workshops and unwind at the on-site cafe. The gallery is part of the vibrant cultural scene in Leeds, where traditional art galleries like Henry Moore Institute coexist with impressive street art. Fantastic experience! There were so many amazing exhibitions to explore, each offering something unique and thought-provoking. We really enjoyed taking our time browsing the art gallery, admiring the diverse range of artwork on display. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, happy to share insights and discuss the exhibitions in detail, which made the visit even more engaging. The atmosphere was welcoming, and it was clear that a lot of care and effort goes into curating the space. We had a great time and would highly recommend a visit to anyone who appreciates art and culture! Best of all it's free! 😃

Beautiful gallery …. We were a day too early for the Moore exhibition… no charge to enter. Lovely coffee shop and souvenir store. We strolled around the multiple levels and enjoyed the exhibitions. Definitely worth going in to see the variety of different types of art.

Fabulous Art Gallery & free… how cool and inspiring is that. Wonderful collection in a very beautiful building. New work by Mike Nelson on show too.

Great place to visit. There were lots of exciting and amazing diverse art exhibitions around the place that you would enjoy. There were free entry and no que on the weekday I visited. It is closed on Monday and public holiday; open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 3pm. No food, drinks or videoing is allowed inside the place. Most of the pictures I got were outside the building. The atmosphere were great and conducive; and the staff were friendly, happy, helpful and knowledgeable. Wonderful experience.

Great collection some wonderful modern British artists. Nash, Nicholson, Hepworth. On two floors. Free but I donated £5. Friendly staff. Also contains the Henry Moore Institute.

Quite a large collection of art. The best part is the fine arts room downstairs, just a few steps into the gallerys main entrance. If you trouble yourself upstairs, you will find a few more small rooms with more niche art. There are many interesting pieces there.

Beautiful museum of art. Various arts shown there and invite to escape the daily stress for a while. Entry is free but donations are welcomed.

A fine gallery with a good range of gallery sizes displaying a wide and varied collection. It hosts many good temporary exhibitions during the year. Free entry.

Indian restaurant
Bundobust Leeds is a casual craft beer bar that offers a menu of Indian street food in a laid-back setting with bare brick walls and wooden benches. The venue, a collaboration between the owner of Bradford's The Sparrow and the chef from West Yorkshire's Gujarati restaurant Prashad, boasts a street-food vibe, DIY decor, and an impressive selection of craft beers.
The food was really excellent. We got a sharing-meal for three or four people. Can’t remember exactly but there was plenty of food and lots of variety in the dishes. Would probably visit Leeds again just to go here! The tables could be a bit bigger considering so many people get sharing meals!

Great experience, slightly out of the ordinary with sharing platter snad street food. Shared the vegan platter and paneer, good beer on tap as well. Would definitely recommend

“Shall we pop in here or get the next train?” Wow did we make the right choice were head No off to India in a couple of months so I joked it would be good practice. It’s actually a culinadelight of mini street food style dishes that blow ur mind. I’m a presidential member of the carnivore society but I reckon I could be very easily turned if.i lived near establishments like this. Oh yeah, cracking beers to boot 10/10.

I really wished we lived in Leeds so we could visit more often! Every time we are in town Budobust is always top of the list of our places to visit. All the food is amazing. My favourite is the panneer tikka and my wife's is the bundo chaat. This visit was just a quick pit stop on our way for the train so just a quick snack but we will definitely be back soon!

This place is absolutely brilliant. We moved to Leeds about six months ago, and pretty much everyone we met told us we had to try Bundobust. After finally going, we now feel a bit foolish for waiting so long!— It’s not your typical Indian restaurant. The vibe is relaxed and informal, and the food is something else — creative, exciting, and packed with flavours we’d never tried before. It’s all vegetarian (with loads of vegan options too), but trust me, you won’t miss the meat. Dishes like the Palak Koftas and Mung Bean Chatpata were total standouts. One of the best parts is that everything is designed to share, so we were able to try loads of different dishes between the three of us. The whole experience felt and different, not your standard curry night out. And if you're into beer, you're in luck — Bundobust also doubles as a great little beer spot. There’s a solid range, from crisp lagers to punchy IPAs, and even a proper bitter. My partner loved their twist on a radler — a shandy made with spiced Indian lemonade. Oh, and did I mention the value? Three of us absolutely stuffed ourselves (with drinks!) for £20 a head. Can’t argue with that. Bottom line: if you’re in Leeds and haven’t been to Bundobust yet, don’t wait like we did — just go.

This is a find for me First time visitor to Leeds and was recommended this is nice and cheap So walked in and basically jt js branded as street food but I don’t think I have been to any part of india where some of there are sold as steeet food You pick a table and walk in and order and some food is cheap and place is full of students so I felt out The food tasted ok and I like the atmosphere Maybe as a place to try and whilst this is a vegetarian place it is ok I may not go again there

Really very enjoyable. I was skeptical about veggie / vegan chain place tbh. Food was delicious and tasty as well as spicy. It didn’t blow your head off. Best bhajis I’ve ever had. Tikka Paneer that’s filling and tasty. We ordered five dishes between two of us which was plenty. Also highly recommend the mango lassi drink which was insanely tasty. Only thing to watch is a round of 3 drinks was £25 and one of four drinks £32. Maybe it’s been a while since I was was out in Leeds but still a bit steep. Staff were amazing and really knowledgable about allergens which was impressive. We will be back!

Well what a fabulous lunch. The staff were informative, helpful and so obliging . The food was excellent and well presented for a street food . Also the Python beer brewed by themselves was light and clean in taste. Definitely be shouting from the roof tops about this place. The Devonshire Arms Brasserie & Bar is a dining establishment located in the picturesque Bolton Abbey Estate in Yorkshire Dales. It offers a diverse menu featuring British cuisine, including lentil stew and bacon sandwiches. The brasserie also caters to families with a children's menu and accommodations for young guests, making it an ideal destination for visitors of all ages. In addition to its culinary offerings, the venue provides a relaxing atmosphere for guests to enjoy their meals while taking in the natural beauty of the estate.
Excellent and friendly service, great quality food, beautiful location and a lovely spa. We came for the fireworks and feast evening, and stayed over. Our room was great, and well supplied. With a stay you get an hour a day in the spa, but you need to book it in. The spa was fun, with usual sauna, steam-room and small pool, with additional treatments and a lounge you can have drinks in. The feast was magnificent, with lovely canapes waiting for us on arrival in The Brasserie. The evening was busy but even so, the service was excellent. After some lovely food (that we'd pre-ordered) we were ushered put into the garden to watch a truly excellent display of fireworks, set to music. I can highly recommend the evening and would happily return next year.

Probably a 4.5 stars. Service was very good and staff very friendly. Restaurant clean and spacious and allowed dogs). Menu has some quite expensive dishes. However the pie was excellent, looked and tasted superb. Fish nicely cooked. Burger also good. Chips slightly disappointing could have been cooked for longer to give them some colour and the boys wanted more of them. Bread and butter pudding was outstanding especially the quince (i think that was the flavour) ice cream which was amazing.

A great, high end, dining experience. The food is amazing and well worth the price. What really makes this place shine though is the service (formal, yet also friendly) and the location (great views if you get sat in the right place). Highly recommend for a bit of a more special afternoon out

Had a lovely meal. Staff were great. Highly recommend will be going again next time we are around that way. The steak was well prepared and I had it rare. Sides were delicious. Maybe a little over priced but everything has gone up🙄

The Sunday menu here is a fixed price 2 or 3 course. No sly hidden extras, and top quality cookery. The portions are not huge, but if you opted for just 2 courses, that's probably on you. Service was friendly and pretty quick, but occasionally slightly chaotic. Overall, highly recommended. The wines by the glass are worth mentioning too, a bit more about them than you often find.

Fabulous lunch with my mum for a special birthday. We were very well looked after from the minute we stepped in the door. Fabulous food and lots of fish choices for Good Friday. Best meal I’ve had locally in a long time

After coming here for 30 years I am truly disappointed with our last visit, so much so that we probably won’t be back. The front of house girl was surly and unfriendly verging on acting superior. Food was rushed with lamb not allowed to rest and quality was average but the cost above average. Needs to improve massively

Historical landmark
Skipton Castle is a remarkably well-preserved medieval fortress, offering visitors a unique glimpse into history. Dating back over 900 years, it stands as one of the most complete and best-preserved castles in England. The entrance through the original Norman archway leads to a Tudor courtyard adorned with a yew tree planted centuries ago. Inside, visitors can explore various rooms including the Banqueting Hall, Kitchen, Bedchamber, and Dungeon.
Historic well preserved castle. £12.50 admission card only. Very friendly informative staff. You're given a double sided a4 sheet with route and brief information about each room. The castle itself is in roof condition. An 800 year old remains of chapel near to castle within its grounds. Nice tea room for refreshments.
Steve D — Google review
Loved the history behind the castle was bigger than initially thought. You get a map to follow when walking around gives you more information on history of the rooms. Beautiful preserved castle and grounds. Dogs are welcome in castle just not in shop and tea room but there is plenty of seating around. Kids under 5 go free takes about an hour or 2 to walk round castle slowly not include grounds.
Sally H — Google review
Really enjoyable look around this brilliant piece of history, you are left to walk around at your leisure which is good lots of signs explaining everything. Dog friendly which is great. It has a good car park which is a bit of a walk from the entrance but not a problem and it's something like £4.50 for the day so ideal for looking around Skipton town centre after the castle. The castle is literally 1 minute walk away.
Gasgas — Google review
Visiting Skipton Castle today felt like stepping gracefully into a living chapter of England’s storied past. Rising proudly above its surroundings, the castle possesses a quiet, enduring grandeur that immediately captures the heart. Its weathered stone walls, ancient archways, and immaculately kept grounds create an atmosphere where history does not merely linger — it breathes. Wandering through its corridors, one cannot help but admire the exquisite preservation of this medieval fortress. Every room, every vault, and every spiral stair whispers tales of resilience and nobility. Sunlight filtering through narrow windows casts soft patterns across the stone floors, lending a poetic stillness to the place. The courtyard, with its venerable yew tree standing sentinel for centuries, feels nothing short of enchanting. The staff deserve the highest praise. Their warmth, courtesy, and genuine passion for the castle enriched the experience immeasurably. They carried a quiet pride in sharing their knowledge, answering questions with patience and charm. Their presence added a welcoming human touch to the grandeur of the site. Access to the castle was wonderfully straightforward, with clear signage and well-kept paths that made the visit smooth and stress-free. Whether travelling alone, with family, or simply seeking a peaceful retreat into history, one can reach and explore the castle with absolute ease. Skipton Castle is not merely a tourist attraction — it is a beautiful encounter with heritage, artistry, and the enduring strength of time. I left with a sense of awe and gratitude, carrying with me the gentle magic of a place that truly honours its past. A must-visit, and a memory I shall hold dear.
Vishwas K — Google review
I love castles and Skipton castle is well preserved. Half of the castle is a private home ...the rest of the castle is open to the paying public and is small. The rooms are disappointingly empty...I think they could get furniture, weapons, suits of armour, period dress etc to make them look period and a bit more interesting...visitors can move around at their leisure. There is a gift shop toilets and tea room. There is also a car park close by which is part of the castle grounds.
Kelvin D — Google review
Absolutely loved it. Love castles and this is a good one. Not very big and apart from the few places you weren't allowed, then it's got a lot of history.
Andrew R — Google review
Amazing castle so much is original and in good condition. No fancy Disney stuff all original history . Some great views too. Highly recommended
Joan L — Google review
Friendly staff at the gate immediately made me feel welcome here. It is amazing how a first impression like that can carry through a visit, but after I just felt like it was okay to be there. The castle itself is a substantially intact stone keep etc with roofs still in place to keep the weather out. In fact I would absolutely recommend this as a good wet weather option. I should know as it was raining throughout my visit. There was a strange kind of duality to the place which is difficult to describe. Fully intact structure yet completely bare within, it seemed caught between living structure and standing ruin. Never quite knowing what it wants to be and landing awkwardly somewhere in between.

Come on people, use these places or lose them. Visited on Sunday and no one in there, nothing going on at all. Such a shame as it’s a nice bar, a bit different and doesn’t attract the usual sorry sorts. Deffo needs a marketing boost to drive some footfall. It’s a great spot…..apart from the steps outside that smell a bit funky….

We went on a Saturday afternoon before a football match. Staff were friendly, beer was adequate & good value. We ordered pizza from the pizzeria next door who brought it to our table in the bar next door. The pizza was very good! I suspect it’s much livelier of an evening than early doors Saturday lunchtime. A lot of places we’re still settling up. I’ll come back!

The atmosphere is incredible in this bar, with the walls giving a proper feel of being underground! When I used the toilets they had been kept very clean, identifiable by a clear sign. The bar was epic to eat and drink in, having a tunnel shaped ceiling and lights overhead as well as at the feet level! It was comfortable to sit down and my flavoursome drink was served quickly, followed by a true Italian pizza that was delicious.

Pen-y-ghent is a mountain peak known for its beginner-friendly walks and moderate hikes, featuring a steep and scenic ascent at the top. It's part of the famous Three Peaks trail, where adventurers can test their fitness by conquering the highest summits in the park. The area also offers beautiful valley trails alongside rivers with waterfalls to enjoy, as well as intriguing geological features like Malham Cove and Gordale Scar.
The start of the Yorkshire 3 peaks for us but we had climbed this mountain before. A nice workout on the ascent from the start and a good scrambly bit before the top. Well worth a visit for the views if you get good weather !

My third time climbing Penyghent great views from the top on a clear day! Always wear good clothes / footwear & leave no trace 🌅🌄🥾🚶‍♂️
Thomas G — Google review
First time climbing Pen-Y-Ghent with the family. Had a bit of trouble with a couple of my party who suffer with vertigo as they didn't know that towards the top there is a scramble, but we got up and they were very proud of themselves. There's a circular route you can take when walking up from Horton in Ribblesdale. If you take the right route, you'll be climbing sections, on the way up, if you take the left route it's a path all the way up, so you can avoid the scrambles if you think that would be too much by taking the left route and then coming back the same way. There's a pay and display car park in Horton in Ribblesdale too which has overflow parking places, so you should be ok parking.
Kieran D — Google review
Lovely walk with a bit of a scramble nearer the top. I've been up a few times, but today is the first time I've got views from the top. Quite windy today at the top too. A challenging walk, but worth it when you reach the summit. There's a few different ways up, but I generally do a six ish mile circular starting and finishing in Horton in Ribblesdale. You can do a twenty four mile walk taking in the three Yorkshire peaks including Pen-y-ghent if you want a really big challenge!
Donna W — Google review
One of the Yorkshire Three Peaks. This is usually the first peak that people scale and it is challenging but rewarding. The views from the top are breathtaking.

Wonderful views on a clear day. Tad windy! Sheep were friendly. But forgot the factor 50 which is a must!

The final of the 3 Peaks. Energised with some lunch however tired legs. A gradual climb, however at this stage the wind had picked up and made for a challenge. The climb to the summit involved a short scramble (just don’t look back) to the summit at 694m. Reached the summit at 4.30pm. Absolutely shattered, but satisfying. A short rest followed by a 2 hour walk back to the car. My challenge was complete.

Great place and was nice and cool inside in this hot weather 😊. Staff were great and friendly. There was a man at the end of the walk in the cave that gave us lots of information on the history. We all really enjoyed it.

A lovely cave above Ingleborough Nature Trail. I visited with my two nieces and we had a great time, even if they did think it was a bit 'spooky' and 'creepy'. It's a self guided tour, with information on laminated sheets to read as you wander round. Helmets are provided. The staff are lovely, and took the time to talk to us, and encouraged my nieces to ask questions about the cave. You can access it via public footpaths, or pay to wander up Ingleborough Nature Trail. We opted for the Trail as my nieces also looked for the Mimpish Squimbies on the trail on the way to the cave. It's worth paying the money to see the cave. It looks amazing, is full of stalagmites and stalactites, and has a crystal clear pool too. My nieces particularly liked all the water flowing alongside the path, and the fact that the little 'waterfalls' splashed on them as they walked past. Additionally there's a decent path throughout the cave, and they sell food/ a few souvenirs at the entrance of the cave too.
Donna W — Google review
Beautiful cave with wonderful features and stalactites and small cascades inside, the water in this cave originated all the way from nearby Gaping Gill. That said, this cave can get awfully crowded at times, and allowing a lot of dogs into this cave (even on leads) is, in my opinion, a step too far which ruined an otherwise amazing experience.
Gleb B — Google review
Long walk up from Clapham village but worth every step. Beautiful show cave that you walk through and end up 500 metres under ground. Low ceilings in places but hard hats provided so all good. Staff friendly and on hand for questions and queries. Amazing formations of stalagmites and stalactites and the different colours formed by the different elements in the water's. Little shop with basic souvenirs and refreshments.
Stephen A — Google review
Lovely walk to the cave and then into it. Staff were very friendly and informative. Dog friendly.
Emma G — Google review
To be honest, I didn't understand why I should pay about 16 pounds per person for "a cave" but I couldn't be more wrong! This cave is breathtaking, and the size is surprising! The self-guided tour is interesting and helpful to spot the amazing things in the cave. Bring some warmer clothes if you come during the summer (the cave is colder than outside). You will find a small snacks and hot drinks shop with some souvenirs at the entrance to the cave.

A birthday treat for me, my husband and friends were delighted to be forced to enjoy a 6 course meal ; I’m counting the canapés as a course as they were spectacular. We’ve been a few times here and it consistently delights! Highly recommend. This was not our original choice but we decided to try somewhere new. It is located a bit off the beaten track but not difficult to get to. Parking is on the roadside and you can either end up a few hundred yards away or, if you are lucky, next to the pub. We were a large group of four adults and five children and were given two little comfortable rooms separated by a couple of steps in this historic and intimate pub. The menu is interesting, varied and not expensive with something for everyone. There is also a separate menu for those with gluten related disorders. We tried a variety of options and loved all of them, in particular I had the “sea crumble” special and it was delicious, plus I sampled a couple of pints from their choice of real ales. All of the children enjoyed their meals and finished most of it. The 14 year old, who can eat for England, couldn’t eat all of his pizza so that tells you something about the portion size! Unusual for a pub but there is also a small bakery on the premises with some of the most amazing pastries. Some of these goodies were purchased for eating at home. All of the staff are friendly, attentive and helpful to ensure you enjoy your time there. We can’t wait to go again. Thank you all at the Black Cock

Fantastically accommodating with great service. It's a lovely old building with lots of small rooms, a bakery and bar squeezed in. We arrived on a Friday evening at about 6pm without booking. Although the place was packed and booked out, we were offered an outdoor table and main meals only, very fair I think. The food was delicious and the beer was great. The village is tiny with very limited parking close to the pub, but a few minutes walk down the road are usually lots of spaces. Lovely pub.

The room we had was bright, clean and tidy but the bed had seen better days and had a few other niggles.. Staff are great; food and drink good and tasty; not too expensive.. Location in Austwick is lovely but may feel isolated to some.

The best meal we have had in a long time. This place is a hidden gem, amazing food, good portion sizes and attentive service. Well worth visiting if you are in the area. 5 🌟

The food here was absolutely fantastic. Staff also great. Took time to recommend options from the menu and table service for drinks etc. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Excellent food, great atmosphere, attentive staff and friendly welcome in a fantastic location. What more can you ask for. Went for a family Sunday lunch for 11 people came away very impressed. As they say we will be back.

We went in for lunch, just on the off chance, and found it to be a most excellent pub. The service is extremely friendly, the food outstanding and the place is very comfortable. We hope to return next time we’re in the area.
