Port de Cassis

Marina
Port de Cassis is a charming and picturesque harbor filled with brightly colored buildings and fishing boats. The area offers car-free streets, perfect for leisurely strolls among pastel-painted buildings, colorful shutters, cobbled streets, and vibrant plant-filled pots. From the port, visitors can embark on excursions to the essential calanques of Port Pin and En Vau after a scenic hike from Calanque de Port Miou.
Incredible little coastal town. Having been in the "out of season" I can highly recommend it for the amazing scenery and bright beaches with beautiful waves crashing about everywhere. Personally it is the town's proximity within the Calanques mountain range that makes this place feel so special. Be careful heading there in the midst of summer however, as being familiar with the likes of St Ives in Cornwall, it's plain to see a small town that gets utterly bombarded with summer tourism when you see one! Highly recommend.

I love this small town with beautiful beaches and canyons, my 2nd years to comeback here. Boat trip recommended Walk to the canyon Fishing trip and diving Good foods around the port People are friendly and not too busy Beautiful views

Stunning, accessible, surrounded by an adorable town with wonderful food and shops. Amazing market in thr center of town on Saturdays. Would love to stay just there and take a short drive to Marseille or up the coast in either direction.

Great little town, very touristy but a nice busy vibe. There were plenty of boat tours and cafes to keep you going.

Beautiful port. Charming side streets and alleys. Great seafood abound. Idyllic is only the beginning.

Port de Cassis is a charming and picturesque harbor nestled on the Mediterranean coast of southern France. Surrounded by pastel-colored buildings, bustling cafes, and stunning cliffs, it offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and Provençal ambiance. The port is lively yet relaxed, ideal for strolling, people-watching, or enjoying fresh seafood with a view of bobbing fishing boats and luxury yachts. Its proximity to the Calanques makes it a great starting point for boat tours or hikes, adding a touch of adventure to its serene vibe. A must-visit for anyone exploring the French Riviera.
Paul W — Google review
This is a very lovely seaside village and I highly recommend taking a boat tour. The boat tour was the best part of the visit. The shopping here is pretty good and not total tourist junk like some places. If you look closely, you can find some better quality stuff made in France and Italy. There are several restaurants here. I ate at Chez Marie, which was pretty good for a sandwich shop and very reasonably priced.

Monsieur Brun is a great place to go for a sundowner. The drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are attentive. The location is perfect for people watching and the view from the restaurant is amazing.
Perfect place for lunch facing the harbor. Caesar salad was excellent, server pleasant and mercifully spoke English, and also accommodated my Iced Tea request. Be sure to ask for the butter for the bread, French butter is amazing.
Patricia P — Google review
The restaurant Mr. Brun is the perfect place to have all the see food dishes you can imagine, the menu is now amazing but honestly this is the right place to have oysters, shrimps, sea urchin, etc. the prices were quite fair and the location is right next to the Port so you can have an amazing lunch while the sun is shining. Servers were nice and the food came in time.

Great restaurant overlooking the port. Excellent food, and large portions. The steak tartare was fabulous as where the chips cooked in lard! Music choice was good to.

If you imagine visiting the south of France with the James Bond film Casino Royale or the black and white classic Casablanca as your inspiration, you’ll be disappointed. Clearly this small casino is not home to high rolling masters of espionage or even the backdrop for love with a piano soundtrack. However, it is a place you can enjoy a drink, spend time trying your luck on the slots, or wager on a table.

Plage du Bestouan is a charming beach in Cassis, known for its unique natural features such as a pebbly shore and stunning turquoise waters. It is one of the two main beaches in the area, offering crystal-clear water perfect for sunbathing and snorkeling. The beach is located near the Calanques, making it an ideal spot for both relaxation and exploration.
Very beautiful beach. Lovely water, not too crowded compare to the other port with is a 15min walk from here. Nice little place to spend half a day or a full day just to chill out and unwind. Tip- get early as car park is difficult.
Ab A — Google review
Smaller more pebbly beach on the far left of Cassis. You can hire a sunbed for €30 each a day and there’s a bar right there for drinks but all fairly pricey. The water is clean and there are lifeguards right there so safe for smaller children playing. It’s large pebbles though so quite hard to walk on. There’s parking right behind the beach and a few restaurants just on the road behind it. It gets very crowded though so be prepared to either pay for a bed or grab a small spot to put your belongings.
Lucy W — Google review
I love this beach. It’s small and can get crowded but it has an amazing view and the water feels like a cold pool. There are a couple good places to grab lunch/snacks/drinks. There are a few places to jump off into the water also.

The eatery situated in Cassis harbor is a renowned spot frequented by insiders who enjoy gathering there year after year. People often convene at Nino's at 11:30 am, following their visit to the market, to leisurely sip on a glass of Pastis while observing the procession of fishing vessels. By noon, everyone has already assembled around the table and engages in lively discussions about who will savor the final antipasti!
They are a great team! Authentic, friendly, helpful and efficient if you need any info e.t.c. Great spot to enjoy façade view of the harbor / castle / horizon color shades. Great French menu options, service, vibe. Merci beaucoup✨️🎉
Villy V — Google review
Visited Le Bistrot de Nino looking for a good time with friends, unfortunately the food was abysmal. We ordered the prawn linguine and steak, and on top of a very long wait, the pasta was quite literally tasteless and the steak was cooked and seasoned poorly. However, the wait staff were very kind and accommodating and the view was amazing. Despite its good looks, I would not dine here again on account of the food. A very poor €200 spent.
Jeff — Google review
We had a pleasure having dinner in this restaurant with amazing view and very friendly staff. We went for a catch of the day in combination with some very good local wine, and huge portion of dessert. Everything from the beginning to the end of the experience was great, we can only recommend this outstanding restaurant next to Port of Cassis! Valeriia and Ignace
Valeriia F — Google review
We stayed in one of their rooms and sitting on our balcony we had a view of the restaurant. Watching tableside preparation of catch of the day drove us to the decision to try it one evening. Our waitress was wonderful and the sea bream was fresh, properly cooked with a generous helping of potatoes and vegetables. The view was magnificent.
Douglas H — Google review
Same as for all restaurants in cassis that are located around the harbor - they are low quality. Doesn’t matter how luxurious they might look like. Herr we had a good wine, was really good rose. The burger was like from the burger kind and the fish was the worst ever fish my wife ever had. This all is just sad that people will tell about the French cuisine. You can eat at good restaurants but sadly not here. French cuisine can be amazing and it’s a bit of shame that it is presented here like that. Sit here, drink a glass of wine or beer, enjoy the view and eat somewhere else😀
Alexey S — Google review
Aggghhhhh, where to start with how dreadful this was?! In a tourist town like Cassis, it’s not necessary to have Alain Ducasse in the kitchen to earn money. I knew thjs. I did some due diligence and it suggested Nino was one of the better restaurants on the port. It can’t be? It’s dreadful. Lackadaisical to non-existent service (And the sense they couldn’t care less because they will be busy anyway). Lukewarm beer and wine. Cold mussels in a moule mariniere, which surely they couldn’t mess up?! It’s hard to recall wasting my money in a place that cares so little about its food or customers. I had to go somewhere else after to eat straight after to check not everywhere in Cassis could be so awful. Thankfully there are clearly much better options.
Owain J — Google review
We ordered a bottle of white wine and I had the sole a la meunière. The wine arrived too warm as if they had it placed in the ice bucket uncooled. Okay, the second bottle was cold. Then I got my fish. It was maximum half done. I sent it back. It arrived still not completely cooked. I left it on the plate. At least our good waiter had the decency of leaving it off the bill. So the service was okay the rest not so much.
Uwe R — Google review
Friendly and efficient service by hard-working English-speaking staff, but the food was really disappointing after a very long wait. Moules marinières: generous portion of small tasty mussels, but they were overcooked. Fritto misto: uninteresting, not crisp, seafood overcooked and tough. On the other hand, the local white wine was excellent. The port-side location is beautiful.

Cesar la Suite is a delightful dining spot that captures the essence of coastal charm. Nestled by the picturesque port of Cassis, this restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere complemented by friendly service and stunning views. Guests can enjoy a variety of seafood dishes, including delicious mussels and fresh salads, all while soaking in the gentle sea breeze. Whether you find yourself on their lovely terrace or inside due to unpredictable weather, you're sure to have an enjoyable experience filled with good food and warm hospitality.
Good food, fresh fish, great drinks, and the views can’t be beat! Fun place for lunch in Cassis! My wife had a Chicken Caesar Salad and I had the plat du jour, a “Hamburger Fish & Chips” which was a breaded fish sandwich with fries. The local Provence wine and gin cocktail were both great, and we finished our meal with espressos. Très délicieux, bon appétit!
Lee W — Google review
We were greeted by a nice female server. Unfortunately we waited forever for our fish. People came, ate and left in the meantime. Fish was overcooked and cold when it was served and although we ordered filets, it was full of bones. Was nauseaus the whole night. Don't recommend.
Eva F — Google review
The only thing worth coming here for is the tap water. We waited 25 minutes just for drinks and over an hour and twenty minutes for food. When it finally arrived, it was awful. Staff never once apologised for the delay. To make matters worse, other tables who arrived 20 minutes after us managed to order, eat, have dessert, and coffee before we even saw our mains. Absolutely dreadful experience.
Oscar J — Google review
Unfortunately not the best experience in France for us. Really nice outdoor sitting area on the quay and the staff were pleasant. Fast to sit down and order and the pre dinner cocktails we had were fantastic. Then the food came....which was terrible. I ordered the grilled steak which was literally a piece of steak on a plate. That's it. I don't think it was seasoned or anything. My friend ordered the fish which he described as thawed (from frozen) warmed and put on a plate. The worst food we've eaten in Europe. Disappointed to say the least. Especially for the price: €30 for the steak?!?
Andrew G — Google review
A tourist trap. Waiting time for food is ridiculous. Food overcooked and small quantities. Absolutely the worst. Do not go.
Louis — Google review
Food are really disappointed, bad taste, small quantities and over cooked, and much more expensive than normal restaurants. 35 euros for per person but not full. Very bad experience
Abigail L — Google review
Steak was okay tbf Everything was completely over priced and very average , the gambas, 27 euro for 2 pawns and some soggy chips Luke warm service Without doubt our worst meal in France
Jason C — Google review
Stay away from this “restaurant”. Horrible service and food. We waited over an hour for a Ceasar salad that had boxed chicken nuggets on top for the “chicken” , a burger that was leaking sauce all overand tasted like a BigMac and steak frites that were cold and the steak was gristly and fatty. Our server was drinking and laughing behind the bar while we sat with no bread or water. We speak French so there was no language barrier. This was in the off season so it wasn’t that they were busy and they had plenty of staff. The view from the restaurant are beautiful. NOT a reason to eat here. Their sign said “Service non-stop”. What a joke. To top it off, after we paid and left the two waitresses ran outside after us and our kids to ask if we had flipped them off. ?!?!!? We had not. What a weird experience to end an otherwise beautiful day.

French restaurant
Chez Gilbert is a Mediterranean restaurant located in Cassis, France. The menu features seafood and soups dishes as well as meat options. It is open every day except Wednesday for lunch and dinner. The restaurant has received mixed reviews for how welcoming its staff were, but the food itself was praised for being very good.
We picked Chez Gilbert mostly by chance while in Cassis, and wow were we fortunate. The seafood dishes here are spectacular! The lobster was unbelievable, more than enough for 2 persons, and the accompanying potato dish was simply sublime. The staff warned us that portions were large, and so we did not order appetizers. Nonetheless, they provided a chef appetizer that was diced vegetables with shellfish in olive oil that was incredible! The sole meuniere with risotto was fantastic, and the bread & butter were French - so really great! Service was friendly and efficient, and the views of the harbor amazing. Love this place!
Mike H — Google review
Don’t be fooled by the pics and views of this restaurant. The food was absolutely the worst in all of France, ridiculously overpriced and low quality with no taste. It is basically a tourist trap charging €65 euro for a Bouillabaisse which was nothing more than low quality fish stew. €125 euro for a fish. We were disgusted with the food and what we got foe price we paid.
Ryan F — Google review
The 50 euros menu is way too expensive for the quality of food you get. The fish soup was tasteless and without any actual fish in it, the main dish was a grilled bar which came almost cold, the desert was ok. Service was super slow and not really friendly.
Virginie F — Google review
The bouillabaisse was a major letdown!!!For such a high price(70€!), I expected something remotely authentic or flavorful — instead, I got overcooked and absolutely flavorless fish! Frankly, it felt like a lazy attempt at a premium dish, priced as if it were something special. I left feeling ripped off. Definitely not worth it!!!!
Kristina N — Google review
Posh and snobbish place. I took the menu for 50€ - food was okay I guess. I was expecting more for that price. But Pavlova was great! The problem was, all three male waiters that were going around with such miserably serious and stern faces that I started to wonder, “is that their idea of what waiters in a serious and fancy establishment should be like?” Because in all other places, you’d expect waiters to be super smiley and friendly, and you relax in their presence as well. Here, no.
Artur P — Google review
Elegant and with a great view from both sides of the dock. Very friendly staff and attentive. Food is very nice and the serve sword fish which is very tasty. They also have a typical dish from the region which is a big fish stew, very tasty. Offers nice local wines.
Mario C — Google review
I love how fresh the produce tasted, but found flavors lacking in their specialty bouillabaisse. To me it just needed more depth, more umami...and for 50€ I expected more. The entrees were ok, though I hoped for more finesse even for a bistro. CG, you could be so so much more! Keep it up!

Order fish soup, Bouillabaisse and Mussles. I like Mussle. Bouillabaisse is OK but If I have come again I would order fish soup Mussle and something else because Bouillabaisse is 4 kind of fish in the fish soup.

L'atelier Gastronomique is a restaurant that specializes in Mediterranean cuisine. Sonia, the chef, and Jean-Marc, the manager, will help you enjoy fresh and homemade dishes. The restaurant is located in Cassis, which is an attractive town on the southeastern coast of France. Parking is available nearby and there are wheelchair accessible entrances.
What a nice surprise to find this wonderful little spot. The Smoked Salmon Ravioli was amazing. We also loved the Cherry Tomato Tart as a first course and the Coconut Flan Dessert was great!!

Dinner: this busy lunch place is a find, and a good one. The place is set up for well above average eats. Dinner is less impressive. We try the 5 appetisers between the 3 of us. None is disastrous, but none jump the hump to 5* glory. The best dishes are the tomato tart and fish soup, the cheese melt is yum ans simple. The tuna rillete barely rises above mundane and the zucchini flowers suffer under the weight of a batter that needed to be far thinner, and preferably made with iced water, japonaise. The wine list is bio beaut, with prices to match. The waiter is as haughty as a cartoon french inkeeper and a real joy to be in the same place with. A safe and decent choice any time of day.

Food is just beyond delicious, the chef is so, so talented. And they were so great at accommodating our child’s allergies while still making a meal that he absolutely inhaled, asking “more” the whole time and crying if we didn’t put it in his mouth fast enough. The service is excellent, and the couple that owns this restaurant is just so, so pleasant. They opened early for us and accommodated us without a reservation. We literally immediately made a reservation for the next day, it was so excellent.

Cassis is one of the nicest places to go in the Provence. A small port near Marseille and way more attractive than Saint Tropez. As all the French here know. So we often drive there from Aix. Today we had lunch in L' Atelier Gastronomique. A short walk away from the busy terraces looking out over the port (also nice bit more standard cuisine) in a side street, this is absolutely worth the detour you go here for a great and special sandwich or tasty 'dejeuner'. We had a truffle croque madame, salade chevre and a croustillant with jambon and salad. All very nicely prepared by a nice and very service-oriented couple; Clemens , his wife and their friend. We agreed with Clemens that he would speak English with us and we would answer him back in French so we both could learn from the conversation. Need I say more?

GORGEOUS! Absolutely worth the hike there. -highly recommend the panoramic way even though it’s 30 minutes longer - the views are stunning! The way to the beach is a big difficult, but really doable.
Elena M — Google review
It's a bit of a hike to get here (wear a good pair of shoes) and make sure you bring plenty of water, especially on a hot day. But the views along the walk are stunning and the beach is well worth the effort. It's a popular beach, but if the main beach is too busy you can scramble along the rocks to find your own quieter spot. Swimming is lovely and you can dry off in the sun after. The circular walk around to the next Calanques is definitely recommended for the views, but there is a bit of clambering involved.
Geoff S — Google review
Beautiful spot for a swim. The water is clear and it wasn’t too crowded when we visited on a Tuesday at the end of June. There are a few shaded areas to escape the sun. The hike from Cassis center took about 50 minutes. It’s not too difficult and definitely worth it!!

This may depend on season entirely. We went on a Tuesday august, and had a terrible time despite the beautiful scenery. This was because 1) we had the most nightmarish parking, in which we looked for an hour in the parking lots before giving up, and being lucky enough to find street parking. People were asking those getting off the shuttle for their parking spot, and claiming them. 2) it was ridiculously crowded on the hike and in the calanque itself. The town was similarly horribly crowded at the port, but quieter outside. This said, it was a beautiful place, and fantastic to swim in. Probably best in the off season.

I cannot move on from the breathtaking beauty of the view here. It's definitely worth the walk to this beach. The sea is beautiful and clear, swimming and watching the fishes is so peaceful and enjoyable.

Nestled between towering cliffs and accessible only by foot or boat, Calanque d'En-vau is a remote beach with stunning turquoise waters. The journey to reach this hidden gem involves a challenging 7-hour hike and an 8,000-meter uphill climb, offering breathtaking views of Port-Pin and Port-Miou along the way. Visitors can also explore nearby calanques such as Calanque de Port-Pin before making their way to Cassis.
Amazing spot. Tricky 5km hike from Cassis with steep ground and loose stones... but well worth the effort for the heavenly views and stunning bay with chilly azure blue waters and cliffs either side. Very popular in the summer months... for a good reason. Simply stunning
Philip J — Google review
We walked about2hrs from the parking to get there and 1h40min to get back. The road is easy if you follow the right path but be sure to take a had, sunscreen and plenty of water as there is almost no shade during the walk there
Aleksandra C — Google review
One of the most amazing and incredible landscape during the trip. Highly recommend to be well prepared for sharp up and down hiking.

Picturesque cove made even more sweet by the decently long hike from Cassis, and by swimming out to the buoys in the cove. The view back towards the beach is stunning! Bring sturdy shoes for the hike, water shoes for the beach (or very tough feet), and a lunch (Wednesdays and Fridays are market days in Cassis!), book, good company. Great full afternoon activity to experience the park with like minded folks from around the world. The water in September was 70 degrees F, clear, very refreshing with the air temp at 80 ish degrees F.
Alex B — Google review
Very pretty view when hiking and turquoise, transparent water. We downloaded the Mes Calanques app, which guided us towards the Calanque d’En Vau via Port Pin - there are also marks on the rocks. We followed the panoramic path to go, and the shorter path (green) to retour. The hike was heavy especially the steep part descending to the water, but if you are physically active it’s super manageable. The rest of the path is rocky - sometimes slippery, but doable. The hike is magnificent, totally worth it!!

Nice beach but OMG the walk from cassis is brutal. Be prepared for some serious climbing up and down and make sure you've got plenty of water.
Dave C — Google review
Parking in Cassis is near to impossible. You have to be lucky to find place in the streets. The hike is very easy to the first beach but gets difficult later. I really believe that if you don't have proper shoes you should not go. The terrain is quite slippery even in sneakers. Important: bring water shoes as well, it will be much easier to walk on the beach. I also think you should leave those trekking poles in your car, there are parts of the hike where you need to have free hands. We got stuck in a "traffic jam" because of group of hikers with these poles. Even in september there is soooo many people. If you come after 3pm, there will be no sun but also much less people.
Diana L — Google review
Beautiful swimming spot once you get there. Around a 17km hike in total, back and forth from the Cassis train station. Ish 4km one way from the edge of the town where the route turns into a hiking trail. The hike is quite tough during the summer heat. Steep and lots of small rocks that move from under your feet. Definitely requires proper shoes. Bring at least 2L of water per person. You’ll sweat it out in a heart beat. We went in the middle of June, and the place was packed. I’d imagine during July it would be jam-packed.

Cassis Calanques Plongée

Diving center
Cassis Calanques Plongée is a must-visit destination for those seeking the beauty of the Mediterranean. Nestled between the renowned Massif des Calanques and the majestic Cap Canaille, Cassis offers visitors a taste of Provence and the sea. The main attraction here is the Calanques, rocky inlets perfect for hiking, swimming, and boating with stunning views of the Mediterranean.
A quick HALF day trip here from Aix was just great. We took a 1 hour boat trip to visit three creeks (calanques), spent an hour or two on the beach, and had great drinks on the main Queen Street afterwards. We were back in Aix in time to clean up, rest and go out to dinner. The highways are amazing and make such a trip possible.

Cassis Calanques was our first dive experience in Europe. We were well received by the dive crew, they had well-maintained rental wetsuits which we appreciated. The dive sites are pretty close to the marina, which is great if you don't enjoy long boat rides, plus the view of the city and the Calanques is simply breathtaking. We got to see sunken Napolean-era canons and huge Groupers. We highly recommend!
Dominic D — Google review
If you are not a french speaker don't come here. We were completely ignored the whole trip, not briefed properly, equipment wasn't checked, and the instructor for my friends baptism told her that diving wasn't her thing after a couple tries (with almost no instruction on his end). Don't tell people that your instructors speak english when they simply refuse to do it even if they can. Also they don't even have water on board. Their masks and equipment is not very good quality. We paid almost 200 euro for one dive and it was the worst experience I have ever had.

This was such a great dive shop. They took us out to a beautiful dive site at a rock far off the coast. My instructor/guide did an incredible job pointing out wild life. The dive lasted about 45-50 minutes, and their rental gear was really nice. Overall, they helped me have possibly my favorite diving experience yet.
William H — Google review
Nice and friendly team with a great atmosphere. Felt very professional. The dive guide Florie was patient, checking in frequently and gave a perfect tour of the spot. Saw lots fish - grouper, barracuda, eels, wrasse, rock fish, blennies and more. We were also the first boat to arrive at the spot before other dive groups. Also a nice touch with hot tea given out after the dive.

Plage de la Grande Mer in Cassis is a stunning free beach located near the town center. It offers breathtaking views of cliffs and calanques, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or a relaxing day by the sea. This sandy beach is ideal for families and anyone seeking to bask in the Mediterranean sunshine. Visitors can enjoy swimming, sunbathing, and various other activities while taking in the natural beauty of the coast.
I was almost cry when I first visit Cassis. It was the most beautiful beach and town I‘ve ever been in my life. It’s a small city, you can visit few tourist area for 1-2days. Some famous tourist beach is crowded with people. But there’s many beaches, you can walk around and choose one what you most like. You can enjoy relaxed time and the sun for yourself!

Lovely place! From Marseille it was a 40min bus ride to Cassis (3.50€) then a short walk to the beach. Not sandy but the pebbles are very small so not hard to walk on it and comfortable to lay down. The water was perfect, very clear! Beach was packed at 8-9am, lots of tourists but I saw a least 7 police person walking around the city and beach. It felt safe enough to go in for a swim while leaving my stuff behind as a solo traveler. No shower to wash off after going for a swim, only a tap to wash your feet/legs. There is a small shop to grab drinks and popsicle but quite expensive. But people were nice and spoke English. There’s is also a small area with sunbeds for hire

Plage de l’Arène is a secluded and wild beach located in Cassis, less crowded than other beaches in the area. Accessible via a small car park and steep steps, this rocky beach is surrounded by pine trees and offers a peaceful atmosphere. It's not the easiest for swimming, so reef shoes are recommended. The beach can be reached through a side street near vineyards, making it more hidden than other nearby beaches.
This beach is a dream come true for nature lovers and anyone seeking tranquility away from the crowds. The crystal-clear turquoise water, dramatic cliffs, and lush pine-covered hills create an almost surreal backdrop. Even on a misty day, the view was absolutely magical, with the clouds hugging the mountain tops like a scene from a fantasy movie. Whether you're paddleboarding, relaxing on the rocky shore, or just taking in the views, this place feels peaceful and raw. My favorite beach during winter.

Pizza restaurant
La Girandole is a small, family-owned pizza restaurant located in a typical street of Cassis. The brothers who own La Girandole are welcoming and will introduce you to their delicious Mediterranean-inspired and Creole cuisine.
This was the best dinner i had in a really long time. I went with my friend, we ordered focaccia for starters and it was DELICIOUS. The straciatella was creamy and the truffles MMM. Then i had a duck steak, also really yummy, the meat was tender and well seasoned. My friend ordered gnocchi and they were drowning in a delicious sause and cheese. Everything went so well, the waiting time was a little long like 30 mins but it was worth waiting. At the end we were served a mini digestive cocktail, so refreshing and tasty. For sure would recommend to everyone looking for a nice place to eat. The staff was also really nice.

This is the perfect place if you want to eat good affordable Pasta in Cassis. The Pasta Vongole and the Arrabiata are both great and the staff is also very nice - you can even get a Cuba Libre. Also the Gnochi house Pasta was good if you like more cheesy stuff. We were at several restaurant in Cassis with the aim not to spend more then 20 to 30 Euros per person and this was the best - we visited at end of May 2024.

Last night we 5 persons went to have dinner there. The person next to us was having “Arrabbiata and Burrata”, 4 of us ordered the same, I order another pasta. Surprisingly they gave us much less quantity than our neighbor. Moreover after us some one ordered the same, they also gave much more than us. I complained to the waiters, twice but they ignored. Finally I complained to the boss. They should treat us fairly. We will never go there again.

Nestled in the charming town of Cassis, Chez Poulette offers a delightful escape from the bustling port area. This cozy eatery is known for its homemade dishes and warm atmosphere, making it an ideal spot to unwind while enjoying stunning views of the sea. The restaurant's location allows diners to soak in the picturesque scenery of colorful boats bobbing in the harbor and the majestic Château de Cassis looming above.
We enjoyed a wonderful lunch in the restaurant. The waitress kindly explained the menus in English since we don’t neither know nor speak French. They also showed their warm hospitality and inquired us how the food tastes several times. We ordered 4 different kinds of main courses, 2 kinds of desserts. We shared the food together. Every dish was empty, you can imagine how we loved the cuisine very much.😋 Strongly recommend!👍

Exceptional experience here. Waitress was brilliant, explained all the menu in detail to us upon arrival. She was good humoured also. The food was absolutely gorgeous. The prawn fried rice dish and the duck were both very tasty. The white wine was equally nice. A wonderful experience from start to finish, would highly recommend.

There is one proper way to describe this restaurant: Fantastic Among a sea of touristic restaurants that have mediocre food, this hidden gem stands out in every way possible. My advice is to order everything on the menu; and make a reservation to get a nice table. As for parking, I would suggest to parachute in instead. There is no parking, and you will have to park far away and walk about half an hour to get to the restaurant. But the food makes the parking situation minimally annoying. In summary, the food that this restaurant offers is amazing.

An absolutely amazing experience here!! Food was incredibly delicious - from apps to mains to desserts, and the top notch service made the experience so much better. We dropped one of our calamari pieces on the ground, and they brought us out a couple pieces to make up for it - so thoughtful! Would recommend to everyone and would definitely return.

Yummy and familiar flavours in the shrimp fried rice. Loved the sauce, if I could suggest one slight improvement would be to have more peanuts, the crunch adds to the dish! The staff were great—was clearly a busy period but they were very kind and warm and acquiesced to my request for more peanuts 😂

A Hidden Gem for Homemade Delights We recently dined at this cozy little restaurant and were absolutely blown away by the experience. From the moment we walked in, the warm and welcoming atmosphere made us feel right at home. The service was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring, which made the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. Plus, the service was super quick, which is always a plus! As for the food, it was nothing short of amazing. We ordered four different dishes, and each one was perfect. Every dish tasted like it was made with love, using fresh and high-quality ingredients. The flavors were rich and comforting, truly reminiscent of home-cooked meals. To top it off, we tried four different desserts, and they were absolutely incredible—each one better than the last! If you're looking for a place with heartfelt service, fast service, and delicious homemade food (and desserts!), this restaurant is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Perhaps one of the best meals of my life! Absolutely phenomenal! Each dish was perfectly executed. The duck was cooked to perfection and the flavors far from boring. The ceviche was so unique it had me dancing in my seat. Paired with a rose, pure magic. The panna cotta was the perfecting ending. You need a reservation but the place is very unpretentious, which I love! Why doesn’t this place have a Michelin star? I just don’t understand!

Haute French restaurant
La Presqu'île is a renowned restaurant located between Cassis and the stunning Calanques massif, offering breathtaking views of the Bay of Cassis and Cap Canaille. Since 1978, this establishment has been serving inventive southern French cuisine that showcases the flavors of Provence and the Mediterranean. The restaurant's terrace provides a privileged setting to enjoy a leisurely meal while soaking in the last rays of daylight.
La Presqu'île in Cassis offers an unforgettable dining experience in a prime location, with stunning views of the cliffs across the bay. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the service was absolutely flawless from start to finish. Every dish we had was delicious and beautifully presented, truly a feast for both the eyes and the palate. The only downside was the portion sizes, which were quite small. The turbot main course, in particular, was surprisingly tiny—probably less than 2 ounces. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and left with a great impression. If you’re looking for a fantastic dinner with breathtaking views, I highly recommend La Presqu'île. Just don’t expect large portions!

Having a G&T to start the lunch with these views was such a vibe let me tell you! Won’t regret trying this place. Also the parking situation was amazing. They have dedicated parking for people who have an advanced reservation with the restaurant. They leave your name with the parking attendant at front, you just say your name, don’t have to pay 10 EUR and get parking right out the front of the restaurant. We went early and enjoyed the walk around the view point and Calanques.

Our set lunch menu was as tasty and beautifully as the view was marvelous. Exciting tastes with meticulous attention to the details. An addition from the wide selection of cheeses made the meal complete. The staff was very pleasant and professional. Clearly a restaurant with high ambitions, witch I believe they reacted.

The view and setting are absolutely breathtaking, worth every penny. I recommend booking an early dinner to fully enjoy the sunset 🌅 and stunning sea views. The food was delicious, with the grilled tomato being a standout. I appreciate the concept of offering two set menus to choose from. However, the service could be improved by having two designated serving times. This would allow the kitchen to bring out food for all guests simultaneously, which would save time, especially considering the terrace has over 50 seats. Staggered arrivals make it challenging to serve everyone smoothly ☺️.

La Villa Madie is an upscale restaurant offering refined Mediterranean cuisine and breathtaking sea views from its terrace. Run by Chef Dimitri Droisneau and his wife Marielle, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant requires a smart casual dress code. The menu features standout dishes like grilled Mediterranean rouget with almonds and fennel in urchin-and-saffron sauce.
I visited this exquisite restaurant for lunch with my wife to celebrate her birthday, and it was an unforgettable experience. The ambiance was truly enchanting, with stunning decor that harmoniously complemented the breathtaking views surrounding us. Each dish was crafted with a thoughtful blend of seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. The presentation was a feast for the eyes, while the flavors danced across our palates, leaving us in awe of the remarkable cooking. The staff provided an exceptional level of service, taking the time to thoroughly explain the intricate details of the food and wine pairings, all in English. Their warmth and friendliness made us feel right at home. Having dined at numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, we found La Villa Madie to be our favorite of them all.

The place is simply amazing . The service was excellent, no mistake or error. The wine list is super and real good pricing, except for the first growth Bordeaux- everything else was priced very reasonably. The food presentation and quality is up to three star. The chef visited every table- nice gesture. The atmosphere is magic. We will definitely return!

After making a later booking, we decided to arrive about an hour early due to our hotel’s check-out time. We were pleasantly surprised by how effortlessly the staff accommodated this. As we walked through the restaurant to the outdoor terrace, we were greeted by a stunning view from our table. We initially dined outside but moved indoors later due to a change in the weather. The food was exquisite, both in taste and presentation. Unfortunately, a flight cancellation that evening prevented us from fully savoring our meal. However, the staff graciously expedited the service, allowing us to complete our meal while reworking our travel plans. They even packed the petit fours for us to enjoy on our way home!

Brasserie du Corton Review (Not to be confused with La Villa Madie ***) The food was excellent. Really delicious and well executed. The highlights were the beef and oyster tartare, something that was novel for us. Also the veal dish where the meat was cleverly hidden inside the vegetables was a fun dish as well. Quite tasty! The negatives: It was really hot on the balcony, and there was no option to sit inside with air conditioning. There were no fans or anything to help with the heat on the balcony. Inside the "dining room" it was very disorganised and seemed like some of the staff's personal effects were just laying around. On a day with 34 degrees Celcius, perhaps having an air conditioned room for lunch would have been a good idea. The service was not good either. This is honestly not a place where you would expect to have to serve your own wine. But our glasses sat empty for 10 minutes plus, and our white wine bottle sat in the bucket while waiters walked back and forth. This is France, right? The country that invented gastronomy and wine service? The restaurant downstairs has the highest culinary distinction from a certain tire company, right? If you want to respond with "oh well, if you wanted that level of service, then go to La Villa Madie." Wrong. There are many hotels that have the brasserie - fine dining restaurants combo, and their levels of service are comparable. That was not the case here. To be fair the food was excellent, and on a less hot day in the spring or fall the balcony would have been lovely. Installing some ceiling fans would go a long way towards thermal comfort in the summer on the balcony, with the added huge bonus of keeping flies and mosquitos away from guests. The wine service and organisation of the inside dining room need improvement.

With a stunning view of the sea, we enjoyed the best dinner I have ever had. The dishes showed so much finesse, intriguing flavour combinations, evolving tastes, and a perfectly cohesive menu (a.o. sardine/caviar and anemone). The recommended wine pairings were fantastic (a.o. a heavenly Gavoty Clarendon from 2015, and a Gros Noré Bandol from 2015 as well: kudos to the sommelier), and the staff was warm and attentive. This is a dinner I will never forget!

The food was beautiful and very good, but I was never overwhelmed by the flavors the way I’ve experienced in the past while dining at 3 Star restaurant at almost 400€ a person. I recommend trying it yours. The wine list was stunning and the service impeccable, not to mention the view.

La Brasserie du Corton, not the 3 Michelin star La Villa Madie; a bit disappointing for the price - 3 course meal for 70 euros. Between the two of us we had steak and oyster tartare, braised leek, fish of the day (local white fish, texture similar to tuna), fig and lemon tart dessert. Cant say any component of the dish was really that memorable/unique.

Clos Sainte-Magdeleine is a must-visit in Cassis, offering a unique experience surrounded by captivating cliffs in the Calanques National Park. The vineyard, owned by the Zafiropulo family for four generations, is committed to preserving the area through certified Organic and Sustainable Agriculture. The terraced vines offer stunning sea views and produce exceptional wines.
Had an absolutely wonderful experience at Clos Sainte-Magdeleine. We were welcomed by Camille who was very friendly and knowledgeable about the peculiarities of the wine production. All wines were stunners! Particularly liked Bel-Arme and Baume-Noire, very different from each other but equally pleasant.
Olga G — Google review
We were so pleased to discover that the Clos Ste Magdeleine winery was easily reached on foot from the town of Cassis as the wine has been recommended to us and we wanted to try something local. A really lovely lady helped us find a bottle of something to our taste (and budget) as they have a few available to try - and very patiently put up with my appalling attempts to originally converse in French! Don't be put off by the closed door. Just ring the buzzer and you'll be let in! We ended up with a great bottle of their white wine - highly recommended.
Josh O — Google review
Camille was beyond warm and welcoming! We came during the off season when tours were unavailable, yet she provided us with so much information about the wines we were purchasing. She even gave us a small taste of a few! Afterwords she walked us out- but before saying goodbye, she showed us a lovely view on the side of the building overlooking the ocean and provided us with restaurant recommendations! Lovely experience.

Should have read the newer reviews before going. We were recommended to visit by the Cassis tourist information centre, they said bookings aren't required so we walked there today (Saturday 17th September) to find the door closed and no answer to the doorbell or intercom despite being there during the opening times as posted on the door. It would have been useful to at least have a sign on the door saying it was closed. For the owners - you may want to tell the information centre and hotels that you aren't open as they are recommending visits to you!

I discovered the “Bel Arme” in a nice restaurant in Tokyo. Really great wine, went very well with our dinner. Thank you !
Basil V — Google review
We really love the wine. The tasting was great and you really feel their passion in what they are doing. They do not have a parking spot so this can be tricky at a sunny day. Cassis has a lot of beach tourists coming by car
Alex B — Google review
We attempted to visit this vineyard for a scheduled tour and tasting on Saturday 15 July at 11am as advertised on the website. We arrived at 10:40 and were stopped at the gate and rather than put our names down and being invited to wait in the tasting room, sent away and told to come back at 11:00 when the tour started, despite the fact the sign on the door said they were open for business. When we returned promptly at 11:00 a sign had been put on the door saying closed until noon due to a tour in progress. We rang the bell and the same person greeted us and told us the tour was now full! We asked why we had been sent away and asked to return if this was the case. In return for our troubles we were offered a free tasting at noon. We returned promptly at noon and rang the bell multiple times and were completely ignored for over ten minutes. Another worker unlocked the gate to let herself in but did not invite us in. Again, the sign by the gate said they were open for business this entire time. We were shocked by the rudeness with which we were treated on our holiday in Cassis, and wasted a lot of time walking to and from the vineyard. We would therefore not recommend this vineyard for visits to anyone.

Plage du Corton, also known as Plage Sainte Magdeleine, is a small and secluded pebble beach located in a picturesque cove along the coast south of Cassis. Accessible via a 15-minute walk from Cassis harbor, this hidden gem offers stunning views of surrounding hills and cliffs. Visitors can enjoy a tranquil retreat by strolling along the water's edge, swimming in the crystal-clear waters, or indulging in a seaside picnic.
Beautiful scenery, a lovely rocky beach, don’t forget to take your water shoes, there is a small restaurant for easy food and drinks

A very clean beach, but it was a stone beach and not a sandy one. A great access ro parking places.
Lida D — Google review
Struggling to find a decent beach in the area, we came across this one. Well, at first it seemed better than crowded beaches around until something disgusting started to come out of hidden pipe into the water. When we walked around we found tones of garbage everywhere (here in the south of France lots of youngsters groups are out and this explains mainly the source of pollution) aluminum drinks bottles, broken glass bottles, thrown away items, socks, fishermen stuff...all dumped on the beaches... It’s disgusting 🤢🤢🤢
AG L — Google review
I'm not sure why this little beach gets so many low reviews. When we arrived in February it felt nice and there were only around 2 to 5 other people at any given time. It felt very isolated and you soon forget that there's a whole city above you. We found lots of sea glass and enjoyed watching the waves crash over all the pebbles.

Fabulous place. You need to ne prepared for hiking as there are some very rough sections unless you take the flat steep section which is perhaps 3 times onger.

Quiet, small, less know. Keep walking along the right hand rocks for space. Fun break that splashes up high. There’s surfing and bodyboarding nearby too. 🏊‍♀️🐟🏄‍♀️

Small place, bad smell, crowded and the water is disgusting, full with some kind of seagrass, brown and not bad looking. Big stones, not pebbles in the water, hard to go with shoes on. Not recommended!!

Great place to eat after a hot day at the beach. The tables are clean, the food is cheap (with real portions) and the workers know English and are very polite and quick. I ordered a custom sandwich + fries + a drink for just 9.5€. Would recommend it 👌

Seafood restaurant
The fish store Poissonnerie Laurent is a great place to go if you're looking for delicious seafood dishes. The clams are especially good, and the friendly service makes it a great spot to enjoy your meal.
This is a great dinner place for my weekend getaway. They gave us a great sea port view. For English speakers, they do have English menu. Some waiters speaks English, others tried their best and they are all wonderful. Their foods are excellent, beers too. Fresh mussels and fish, cooked perfectly, well seasoned. Their bathroom has cut decor and clean. Overall, it’s one of the friendliest place I visited in France.

hello this restaurant is in a beautiful location and has a beautifully equipped food and beverage menu. All the food we ordered was excellent, and accompanied by free bread and olive oil that was a pleasant surprise. The prices were pretty extravagant, but that is to be expected by the location. The experience was marred however by the quality of service. We were spoken down upon and intimated by the woman appearing to be the hostess, wearing a flowery top. She was insistent upon us each ordering a meal each. Despite having already spent €50 on food and beverages, she deemed this insufficient to warrant our seating at a table. Following a rude discussion, we were begrudgingly permitted to remain at our table, provided we left in a short period of time. We will not be attending this restaurant again. Merci pour votre attention!

Absolutely amazing food and service. We watched the fisherman sell fish caught just 30 mins ago to the restaurant. We then ate that fresh fish for dinner. Seasoned fabulously. Thank you, we hope to be back! We were on our honeymoon and the waitress Marie made it so special!!

Despite the lovely waterfront location, the food was absolutely terrible — downright inedible. The dishes were outdated, poorly prepared, and completely lacking in flavor. Out of seven different plates we ordered, not a single one was even remotely enjoyable. In short — avoid this place at all costs

We visited Cassis for a few hours while staying in Marseille. A couple of bar owners and taxi drivers told us we should go. Our bus was delayed by an hour some didn't arrive until gone 2pm, so we were concerned that the restaurants would be closed. Thankfully we found Poissonnerie Laurent. We were warmly welcomed and our waiter was cheerful and helpful with the menu. My wife had Moules Provencal, which came in a huge pot with a tomato sauce, chips and bread. They were big and plump, perhaps because they were baked. I had a Small Bouillabaisse. It's a good job I ordered a small one because it was huge. A plate of potatoes, with mussels and a whole Gurnard plus at least a dozen large croutons, rouilly and grated cheese and a tureen full of soup. The waiter explained how I should eat it, which was helpful. It took an age to eat it because there was so.much, but it was fantastic. I highly recommend the restaurant and the dish. All washed down with a glass or two of local Rose wine which was lovely. A touch of salinity, red fruits, herbs and lovely and off dry. We even had room for a Lemon Meringue tart which came with the most incredible cassis I've cream. The service was prompt, we were never rushed, and the bill came to €105, which was very reasonable for such a fabulous meal great service overlooking the Port. Highly recommend.

Wasn’t a guest at the hotel but went to their bar for a meal during sunset. Stunning view and great service! The menu wasn’t too extensive but expected at a bar. Food was amazing, go for the view and get a drink. Must make a reservation to eat at the actual restaurant.

The staff is the best feature of this gorgeous hotel. They are kind, friendly, and attentive. We had excellent service from Vlada, Nicholas, Florian, Adrian, and at the front desk from Leo! Having lived in Europe for many years, the people at Les Roches Blanches are rare. I am an American and at times have experienced a lack of patience and kindness from Europeans. Not here! Thank you so much for a lovely vacation.

Above, beyond, & sea! A special place. Elegant, reviving, giving, wholesome. The setting is stunning, and the hotel luxurious whilst still maintaining that relaxed vibe. The reception is fun with stylish quirky furnishings that don’t clash—they tell stories. Both pools (heated/sea water) overlook the pretty coastline. Our room was one of the best I’ve ever stayed in. It went above & beyond. Breakfast was beautifully prepared with high quality fare & a variety of delicious healthy options too. I particularly enjoyed the smoked salmon, poached eggs on demand, ginger shot, matcha oatmilk latte option (I added chia!), cheeseboard, mushrooms, & tomatoes that burst in your mouth like summer sunshine.. – & oh those pastrys! Hats off to the pastry chef who whisks artistry with sophistication. You’ve got to try the pistachio cream cronut - that was divine. The staff were polite, courteous, & on the ball. The hotel is clearly run by a GM who strives for (& achieves) perfection. For us, LRB was the best stay ever. An unforgettable blissful wellness experience that wafts with you long after you’ve gone. If I could give 6 stars..

Wow, I mean wow! This hotel is stunning and the staff are so friendly and helpful. They even have a shuttle to help wish you around. You won’t want to leave though, it’s just so fabulous! We stayed in one of the cheaper rooms and I was nervous after seeing some reviews, but the room was great, with a partial sea view and a thoughtful welcome gift. J would definitely return and recommend this gem. My only input is that if a guest shows up a little bit early, they’ll definitely want to go to the pool, so just be helpful with that option.

We stayed for 3 nights, though we could have easily stayed for a few more! The views are unbelievable and the service by the pool was great. The hotel is near great hikes which is highly recommended given the views (follow the blue trail). We ate at all the restaurants at the hotel and had a very good meal at them all! Also, concierge team is very helpful and accommodative!

We had a wonderful stay (for the 3rd time) at Les Roches Blanches. The location and views are unmatched and truly makes this hotel so special. The property is stunning and facilities are well maintained and cleaned. Majority of the staff is excellent - we had a few hiccups like slow service at breakfast, a concierge booking that wasn't made, and AC that didn't work well. With all of that said, I would return back again and again!
Emily K — Google review
This was my 3rd summer in a row staying at Les Roches Blanches. Though I immediately fell in love with the hotel the first time I stayed in it, there were some glitches in service notably at the beach club and restaurants my first 2 times staying there. However, this year the service was perfect. Well executed without being stuffy and not providing "over service" which can also be annoying. I would equate the style of service at Les Roches Blanches as understated luxury and similar to what you find at Eden Rock in Saint Barths. I can now say that Les Roches Blanches is my favorite hotel in the world and I've already reserved for next summer!

Awful experience - we had to cancel two nights having to go back to London unexpectedly. The hotel refused to offer a discount and did charge for 4 nights (we spent two). If we were off season I would understand but in that case the rooms were sold immediately (we monitored the site) so we ended up paying 350 euros per person for two nights for a noisy hotel with tiny rooms. Pure racket and jackpot for the hotel with double revenue for those nights. Such a bad customer experience. Avoid absolutely.

We spent a whole week in this hotel, and we can highly recommend it. It is a simple, nice and clean hotel in a typical old Provençal house. Our room had everything we needed. The location is perfect, because it is in the most vivid street with lots of useful shops and almost in front of the port. We had our breakfast right on the sidewalk and enjoyed the beautiful morning atmosphere when the whole village awakened, the shops opened, people had their coffee... A special thanks goes to the friendly French ladies at the reception, Cathérine and Sabrina - they were always ready to answer our questions, to help us and to make sure that everything is the way we needed it. All in all, we had a great stay and enjoyed the authentic atmosphere of the hotel and its surroundings. It was like being one of the locals, a lovely experience. :-)

The room we were given was small and very unclean: there was a skid mark in the toilet as a souvenir from previous guests, hair in the cabinet, the dark walls were dirty, the toilet was dirty, the floors were dirty and there was dust in places were you are supposed to put your stuff on. When l pointed this out to the lady in charge she was apologetic ti start with, but hot very annoyed when It was evident that the filthy was all over the place. Location wise, what Is the advantage of being in town if you can't sleep at night due to the relentless noise? I personally would rather walk 5' to get to town and actually get to sleep at night and have a reasonably comfortable parking area. I have to say, the sheets seemed clean and they refunded us a 12 euros extra, the price for allowing out dog in the room. Avoid of you can.

Le Petit Train Touristique de Cassis is a charming way to explore the picturesque port town. Visitors can experience the typical Provençal atmosphere at the fishing port, where colorful boats sell fresh seafood each morning. The train offers a 40-minute tour around Cassis, providing an alternative way to see the town's historic center and scenic surroundings. While it's convenient for those with mobility issues, walking around Cassis is highly recommended for a more immersive experience of its southern charm.
Worth seeing.

Cute ride across Cassis with a stop next to one of the creeks of the Calanques (view from the top). We were ignored at first when we were waiting to get on the train, that was quite rude. But the owner later excused himself and explained there were technical difficulties. During our ride, the audio with the descriptions worked well though.
Claudio K — Google review
This is a terrible attraction. Crazy bumpy with no suspension. If you have a bad back or are traveling with an infant I'd avoid this at all costs. The route is pretty poor too. Do yourself a favour and walk about don't bother with this train. The only useful thing we learnt was as where the big supermarket was.
Daniel B — Google review
Bought tickets at tourist office for 3.15pm only to be told the train was full of people who hadn't ordered or booked and just turned up, paying on the spot. Driver was particularly unhelpful going on rude. Just avoid at all cost and save your money for a company that actually does half decent business.
Nigel S — Google review
Silly little train ride, mostly up hills in the area with large houses behind walls. Not much to see. At the end a view of the canyon. Not worth it at all. Waist of time. Would not recommend.

Didn’t let us on even though we have priority, driver was clueless and just wanted the money. No respect, spoke with lack of care, not worth doing. Do not buy

Château de Cassis is a luxurious hotel located in the picturesque seaside town of Cassis, offering refined suites with stunning sea views and an outdoor pool. The town itself is a quintessential Provencal gem, featuring pastel-hued houses, cobblestone streets, and easy access to the Calanques de Cassis Natural Park. The chateau itself has a rich history dating back to the 9th century when it was originally built as a fortress.
Incredible hotel with great service and amazing views. The pool is wonderful and the breakfast is great as well. The chateau looks over the city and is just a quick walk into the town but do note it’s pretty steep (more than worth it!). We had a car and it was very easy to locate and park. Remy was very communicative and helpful. One of the most peaceful, unique, and beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Gregory M — Google review
Got married here in Sept 2023, returned in Sept 2025 and it remains lovely and perfect. Neither my wife nor I can imagine a better place.
Alexander E — Google review
Unbeatable views from the castle. I have stayed at a many ocean front hotels/resorts but none compare to the breathtaking view from this Chateau. Remy, the concierge was kind enough to help us with our luggage, give us a tour of the property and arrange cutlery/tableware for our dinner which we had packed from a restaurant in town. The room we stayed in was the dungeon - it came with a terrace, which again had a beautiful lookout. The only slight inconvenience was the church bells at night, every hour - something to keep in mind should you choose this room. I think the other rooms which were located more inside the chateau were better shielded from the city noise.
Neerjakshi S — Google review
The most breathtakingly beautiful and well maintained place we have ever had the pleasure of staying at. Remy greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the grounds and was available whenever we needed anything. The room was perfect in every way - climate, amenities, very comfortable bed, and the view is unbeatable. And to somehow top all of that, the continental breakfast was the perfect additional touch. We liked that access is limited to guests since it makes the place feel more secure and serene. We took a taxi from Marseille to get here and walked the rest of our stay there. We had no trouble with walking up and down the hill. Town is just a short walk away, no more than 10 minutes even with breaks. Great value for the price per night, especially compared to what some of the 5 star hotels charge and they are no where near as nice as Chateau de Cassis. Would highly recommend and would love to return!
Trisha B — Google review
Very disappointing, I went up to Chateau de Cassis and at the entrance it says: guest access only, cannot be visited. I don't know what would be so disturbing to let the tourists enjoy the garden, the view and possibly drink something. The road to reach this destination is very difficult and despite all that I did it in vain. I tried to contact the property before to go there and a robot answers and speaks in French… I didn't understand anything. on the official website it says that it is open until 8 pm, which is very confusing, thinking that you can go and visit.
Claudia B — Google review
We made a booking. After 11 hours we found out our flight was cancelled. We provided proof. Initially the staff said they would reimburse it, as any decent hotel would, which normally have a 24 hours grace period. Then they changed their mind and tried to negotiate with us. Honestly, a joke of customer service. They seem desperate for clients
Carolina G — Google review
An absolutely stunning view with perfectly paired wine to match the mood and history. You will be enamored by the beauty by just being in the moment to soak it all in. Look at the picture taken down in the port with the bright moon and lights.

Very good restaurant with local dishes rethought to match modernity. Try local dish soup and desserts. The wine card is extensive, about 40 per glass options. Ambience and views are outstanding. Terasse is available for apéritifs / cigars

The place is absolutely stunning. However, the food is rather mediocre. Bad value for money, to be honest. The price for the main course is 60 euros, we both got fish and it was partially raw. Unfortunately we didn’t finish the plate. The staff is kind, however we had to ask 5 times for the umbrellas to be moved to be protected from sun. 5 times….

I would highly recommend this restaurant as a date night. I took my fiancee and we loved the food. The view and ambiance of course are amazing but the service was incredible as well! Our waitress was very attentive and one of the best services we have had in France. Cocktails are top notch. That being said, everything is expensive but as a night to remember out, I think it is totally worth it!

Excellent! Our table offered just the right amount of privacy while still feeling connected to the restaurant’s cosy atmosphere. The deep sea prawn starter was outstanding, and oh the bouillabaisse!!! you could literally taste the sea in every bite. For dessert we had the vanilla cake (fab) & fig sabayon. Both understate, but over deliver. And if you’re lucky to have Tom and Babaka serving you, well that’s just the cherry on top. They anticipated our needs without being intrusive—refilling glasses with a knowing smile and giving us space during those lingering moments between courses. When service shines, it transforms any meal into an unforgettable experience. I’d highly recommend this spot.

Great food and spectacular views. We ate on the balcony, with a superb view of the ocean and the cliffs. I had the wild sea bass, which was the best meal I had on our trip to France. Also had a "lemon meringue tart" cocktail which was terrific. Service was friendly and impeccable. The restaurant is attached to a 5-star hotel called Les Roches Blanches, which seems like an amazing place to stay as well.

We had a wonderful meal here. I’m not sure how anyone could find a flaw and write a bad review! Everything was beautiful! The food, service, the breathtaking views! We had the catch of the day and the Lemon Menton for dessert 😋 & my drink was delicious too! The Roucas! I hope to visit again one day!

Absolutely stunning ambiance with five star food and service. We very much enjoyed our meal at Les Belles Canailles. From the moment we walked in we were welcomed and immediately seated at a beautiful table outside with a stunning Mediterranean view. Service was impeccable and the food is outstanding. Bar Le Port, situated on the Cassis port, is a popular spot that embodies the essence of Cassis life. Visitors can bask in the sun on the terrace and savor breakfast with a view. The bar offers a variety of drinks including cappuccinos and wine at reasonable prices. While enjoying the beautiful setting and central location, guests can indulge in complimentary nuts and olives along with friendly service.
It's my favorite bar in Cassis any time of the day. Nice terrace with a view on the port, good drinks, café crème is delicious, lively atmosphere with a mix of local and tourists. The bar is closed on Monday and they don't accept credit cards, you have a pictogram saying that on every table.

Really a great spot for a cocktail or glass of wine. We found this on our first day and enjoyed the mix of locals in the bar and back of the terrace, with the tourists out front. Reasonable prices, great people watching, and no rush at all!! Getting used to the cultural difference where one has to request a refill or check, rather than being pushed every so often by waitstaff in US was fun. Really nice!!

This bakery, La Tarte Tropézienne Cassis, is known for its delicious croissants and pain au chocolate. The staff is very efficient in handling the queue, so you won't have to wait too long. However, the tarte tropezienne is slightly overpriced.
almost missed out on this place because we didn’t explore this one street in Cassis! the store is bright, and inviting with a small number of seats for eating inside… here you’ll find the legendary tarte tropézienne — light, airy, and mild; it is an absolute wonder — the staff were super friendly and we didn’t wait at all I’d also recommend the mini beignet — the best snack in the world! and there is a plethora of boulangerie staples to choose from if you want something more savoury (or cheesy) not sure why google keeps flagging this review

Winery
Domaine du Bagnol is a renowned vineyard in Cassis, located in the Provence wine region of France. Unlike other areas in Provence, Cassis specializes in white wine production, with 75% of its output being white wines made from the Clairette grape variety. The vineyard offers a delightful wine tasting experience, allowing visitors to sample a selection of their wines including whites, rosés, and reds.
My wife & I had an incredible experience at Domaine du Bagnol in Cassis! We both enjoyed the 6 wine tasters, and each wine was delightful. The rosé was definitely our favorite! Our hostess was lovely and ensured we had a fantastic time, providing insightful information about each wine as we tasted them. The landscape surrounding the vineyard was breathtaking, adding to the overall charm of our visit. We highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cassis and it is well worth the price.

I haven’t done many wine tastings but this one was fun! Our host was super pleasant and knowledgeable. We learned a lot about what is grown in the region and the wine history of the area. We got some good suggestions for her favourite local bars and restaurants as well. The winery itself is just a short drive or walk just outside a town – a 10-15 minute easy walk from the harbour. We did book a reservation for our tasting - but just earlier that same day. Beautiful vineyards and lovely property.

One of the only places in France we found where you can do a true wine tasting. All 6 that we tried were wonderful, and the staff was knowledgeable and friendly. They also serve packaged snacks that paired perfectly with the wine. If you are in the area, I'd recommend stopping for a tasting.

Elodie was amazing—so friendly, passionate, and made wine feel super approachable, even for beginners. The wines were absolutely delicious, and a few totally surprised us in the best way! Big thanks to Elodie for making the experience so special and for all the great local recommendations. If you’re in Cassis, don’t miss this place!

In the archaeological part, we discovered amphorae from La Ciotat and Port-Miou, as well as ceramics from Italy and objects recovered from wrecks, notably that of the Cassidaigne reef. In the exhibition, we appreciated the works of René Seyssaud, post-impressionist and fauvist painter, who painted Provence in colorful works: landscapes, seaside, scrubland and the Étang de Berre. The museum presents two complementary aspects: maritime discoveries and local art, giving a good overview of the history and culture of Cassis. Entrance to the museum is free. Poignant presentation at check in with a great energy and delivery. The breakfast is incredible. Fresh fruits, wonderful pastries and the best pancakes I’ve ever had. Fresh OJ and a lovely coffee. The environment feels like a tropical oasis. The pool and lounge chairs were spectacular. A great place to lay around, take a nap, read, and/or swim. Pool temp is perfect. The room was as described on the website. A beautiful interior design with nice art, lovely robes, a very great shower and a Japanese style bidet. An easy walk down to the port of Cassis. I absolutely 100% recommend this place to everyone. Eric and Sabine were incredible hosts. Wishing them and The Address ALL the success.

We have just returned for the most amazing 6 days at the Address in Cassis France. From the moment of arrival to our departure yesterday every moment was beyond perfect. The hospitality of the owners Eric and Sabine were outstanding. From breakfast brought your terrace in the morning to the afternoon fruit or ice cream brought to you at the pool the afternoon not a special touch was missed. I already miss it and cannot wait to return. A true oasis in the lovely beach town of Cassis. So many amazing first class restaurants nearby and natural beauty to explore. The rooms were wonderful with a Japanese toilet to boot! Thank you Sabine and Eric for a most memorable vacation!!! We miss you already!

Our stay at The Address was nothing short of exceptional. Eric and Sabine are outstanding hosts who go above and beyond to make every guest feel truly welcome. From the moment we arrived, their warmth and attention to detail made us feel comfortable at home. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious Sabine’s recipes are special, a perfect start to each day. The views from the property are beautiful, and the pool area is stunning—a peaceful oasis to relax in. The rooms are spotless, with incredibly comfortable beds and immaculate bathrooms. Every corner of The Address reflects care and quality. A special mention goes to Eric for his kindness and support: when our car broke down just 30 minutes before our scheduled boat trip, he immediately offered to drive us to the port and even contacted the rental company on our behalf. While we were enjoying the sea, he coordinated with the towing service and managed the entire situation for us. Truly above and beyond! The Address is hands down the nicest place to stay in Cassis. I can’t recommend it enough!

My wife and I have visited France a number of times but have never been to Cassis. What a marvelous town with great sites and a great ambiance. However, our favorite part of the visit to Cassis was the L' Address. It is probably the best overall place we have stayed in France. We stayed in the Master suite where we enjoyed the sea view and breakfasts on our private terrace. Eric and Sabine are tremendous hosts who were very helpful about sites and restaurants. It was great to get to know them. Sabine's breakfasts were the best of our trip and Eric was always around to offer a great glass of Cassis rose. We hope to return in the near future.

My husband said he wanted to see the coast of France when we returned this year, and I agreed. We thought about staying in Marseilles but chose instead to visit the lovely coastal town of Cassis. I am SO glad we did. There is something magical about this little town. It's situated at the base of a fairly steep hill that leads right down to the harbor and the Mediterranean sea. It's old and new at the same time. It's beautiful and fun while also being possibly the most relaxing spot I have ever been on planet earth. I never wanted to leave. A big part of all of our very positive feelings about Cassis had to do with our lodging at the Address. First, the location is wonderful - up on the hill and providing a wonderful view of the water and the hill from the numerous seating areas and balconies. We were visiting in February, so it was too cold to swim in the beautiful pool, but I could just imagine enjoying that view poolside when the weather is warmer. We rented the Master suite which is larger and located upstairs. This of course provides the best view since you are higher and the Master is just this little oasis of heaven. The space is not big but there are a lot of little touches and smart design choices that make the space plenty big and pretty much perfect. The bed is so soft and heavenly, you can open the window and feel the breeze, it's just a beautiful and relaxing spot. All of the amenities in the Address really take it to the next level, from the fancy toilet bidet (I am not kidding, total game changer if you like a bidet) to the automated blinds that slide up and down with the click of a button. Eric and Sabine are the ultimate hosts - offering to do just about anything for you, from making recommendations, giving directions, arranging transport to the airport or simply helping you with your baggage. Eric did not complain in the slightest when we arrived SEVEN hours after we were scheduled to (got stuck at Heathrow) and arrived at the gate after midnight. He was always there to answer questions, point us in the right direction or just simply chat. Sabine is a little more shy than Eric but equally hospitable, and she deserves extra credit because she is the incredible chef who prepares the daily breakfast. Each morning we would come down to a lovely sliced warm baguette with butter and a selection of jams, fruit, juice, coffee and then whatever we wanted within reason... eggs, homemade yogurt and most notably, Sabine's amazing pancakes. Don't be stupid like we were and wait till the last day to try one! Eric told us they were the best pancakes and he was not lying. I am not kidding when I say we are already discussing returning and for a longer period of time. I've stayed in a LOT of very nice places from Hawaii to Europe to Asia, and this little village in France was THE most relaxing and tranquil places I've ever stayed. I honestly cannot wait to come back and miss it immensely already.

Erik and Sabine were wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for. Erik poured us a glass of wine to sip while enjoying his orientation to Cassis, and then he made us dinner reservations. Breakfasts were delicious. The room was spotless and comfortable and quiet. The view was great. The pool was a delight. Two nights was not enough. I hope to return some day!

A fantastic property with great views! Just 10min walk to the main harbour where the beach and restaurants are. We stayed for 2 nights on a short trip to Cassis and had a wonderful stay! Rooms were spacious, clean and well decorated. We spent a whole day just hanging out by the pool. Eric and Sabine were great hosts, very accommodating and made us feel at home. Do try the the tasting menu here as it was delicious (better than the restaurants at the harbour for sure!) my wife and I especially enjoyed the fish soup! The breakfast was fantastic as well! Can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a great stay!

Beach
Plage des pierres blanches is a stunning spot near the sea, making it one of the best destinations for families. The beach offers a nudist section and is free to visit. Accessing the area can be a bit challenging, so it's recommended to wear comfortable sneakers and stone beach slippers due to the lack of sand. The rocky trails may require hiking shoes, but the breathtaking destination makes it all worthwhile.
Beautiful body of water and land. Not busy compared to the beach around the corner. It's a nudist beach so don't judge if people have on less clothes than you 😉
Nathaniel C — Google review
There is enough space to lie on the flat stonek/rock. Access to the sea is quite hard but it's possible. There is not so much people so you can enjoy more privacy. Even if you don't count with swimming there, walking path is worthy to walk because it's nice piece of nature and you can have some nice views around.
Michal C — Google review
Loved this spot. So good for stating hours and hours, and so fun. Blue sea, warm and cozi in front of an inmense ocean
Romina A — Google review
Rocky path to get there, beautiful views.
Drew L — Google review
Great place to bathe. There is no beach so the easiest way to access the water is to jump in.
Paul H — Google review
Amazing spot near the sea! Definetely one of the best I've ever been. It's free and for families. There's a part where people can be naked (nudist beach). The access is not super easy so if you go you should wear confortable snickers and have separately stone beach slippers since there is no sand. They are more confortable to go into the sea and walk around.
Lina G — Google review
This place is like heaven on earth! To get there I recommend wearing hiking shoes because the trails are very rocky and scramble but the destination is very worth it! There weren't even that many people there. Hope you enjoy your time!

Italian restaurant
Bar
La Stazione is a traditional old-school haunt with red accents and outdoor tables, cooking traditional pizza, pasta & antipasti. They are known for their exceptional service and delicious food. The first night they had space when it was extremely busy, and the next night they were able to remain open despite a flood in Cassis. They made two incredible dishes the second night, one of which was an off-menu salad that was popular with diners.
Everyone was so nice in the restaurant. The pasta was already so good and even better when I added Tabasco!! Superb!! The chef heard that I wanted it to be more spicy and gave me a chilli padi hahahaa so funny but very thoughtful!!
Christy L — Google review
I went in to have dinner there as a solo diner and was told that everything was reserved. It was early and the place was almost empty. I was angry and walked out. The host came out to find me a minute or two later and invited me back. Thank heavens he did, because the pasta was superb. I had the chef's ravioli and it was completely delicious. The staff were charming after my initial experience and I will go back again several times before I leave Cassis. Well worth the very fair prices.

Stumbled upon this gem, great Italian food in tghe heart of coastal France , we had the Gnocci and Canneloni , outstanding , the venue and the staff were happy and helpful. many thanks

As I told the waitress and the chef they were in our top 2 of the best pizza’s we’ve ever had, so so good. The dough is incredible and ingredients really fresh. The staff are super welcoming. Great little atmosphere! Rare to find a a truly great pizzeria.

I have been to this restaurant every summer holiday for 5 years and never been disappointed. Food is superb. Anyhow it is a bit busy, so reservation is a must if you want to secure a table for the time you want. Amazing Italian restaurant in little French town. What a special!
Pam N — Google review
Food is pretty good, overpriced in comparison to the other options nearby. Reason for the rating is the staff is rude and will make sure to upset you when asking for water, a box, or your order.
Mishall A — Google review
Don't forget to make a reservation, because this place is worth it! We have had a nice family dinner. The people here are working hard, though are friendly towards anyone including small children. I can't remember a restaurant in Cassis where all the dishes served were worth every penny. The prices are okay and the toilet is clean.

We were really looking forward to dinner at "La Stazione" and made extra reservations a few days in advance. Unfortunately, our expectations were not met. The staff left a stressed impression, the gnocchi were lukewarm and the promised bread was not brought. Maybe today was not their day. All in all, the restaurant did not stand out from the usual tourist restaurants in the region today. Maybe it will be better another day.

I don't eat a lot of burgers but the brie special burger I had yesterday was simply divine. The burgers are huge, the fries are plentiful and we even got a free coffee at the end of our meal. The staff were very helpful even though we have virtually no French. C'est magnifique

Mediterranean restaurant
Le Bistro - Restaurant Cassis is a charming eatery located at the end of Cassis Port, offering two spacious terraces for diners to enjoy the bustling activity of pleasure boats. The restaurant provides an indoor dining area as well as semi-covered and outdoor terrace with stunning views of Cassis marina and surrounding hills. Despite its name, the menu goes beyond traditional bistro fare to include burgers and pizza alongside Provençal seafood dishes, pasta, and French cuisine.
Very cute restaurant with an absolutely beautiful view we had the fixed menu at €29 for a starter and a main or main and dessert The waiters were all very kind my only critique is that the portions were a bit small ( the salmon with tagliatelle was the best)

Food tasted very good, and there is a specific kind of fish that I don’t remember its name that was so good, will post its pic, the seating at the balcony holds a great view, a little bit expensive but the food is worth it.

We had a wonderful time at Le Bistro, and it has five star views of Cassis. The burger was delicious and our server (we didn’t catch her name but she’s originally from Reims, FR) was amazing and very patient with our big group!

We brought four kids ages 2-9 and the staff were incredibly accommodating and did a great job. I am glad I did not check the reviews about kids being brought into the restaurant, because our experience was great. The view of the harbour and Mediterranean were well worth the lunch.

We went for their happy hour. There was only one other table in the whole restaurant and they made us sit right next to those people…. A bit of a pity. The limoncello spritz wasn’t great.

Brunch restaurant
Breakfast Club Cassis is a charming brunch spot in Cassis, offering a variety of traditional-inspired dishes made with high-quality, locally-sourced ingredients. The friendly service and welcoming atmosphere make it a delightful place to start your day. While some visitors found the prices to be on the higher side for portion sizes, many praised the delicious food and artistic presentation. From brioche French toast to American pancakes, there's something for everyone at this lovely breakfast destination.
Excellent experience! Got seated right away on their outside patio. The menu is quite varied. Ordered their version of Eggs Benedict and the Brioche Perdue. Both were very good. Was served by a young lady who was friendly and efficient. Merci!!!!

What a delicious little brunch cafe! Delicious food and very friendly staff. We returned twice as the food was so good! We tried the Quebec Pancake stack, the egg brioche and the poke bowl and everything was beyond our expectations!

Stopped in while visiting town with my family and had a very delicious brunch, including avocado, toast, pancakes, and an amazing sweet bun. Would highly recommend. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. And they have a cute dog who lives in the restaurant

Gluten free options advertised on website were not available on the day which was very disappointing. Service was good. Food was okay, and below expectations.

We went here three days in a row. Best American pancakes and only real cappuccino I could find in Cassis. The waiters are very welcoming and help you to start the day in the best way.
Chanou T — Google review
Super rude service, and discriminatory against Americans and foreigners. Despite having a reservation, hostesses ignored us and sat several walk-ins ahead of our party. When we were finally acknowledged, they would only seat us in the only table in the blazing hot sun, despite several open tables in the shade. Would not allow us to switch tables after requested. Also, while we were waiting, one of their umbrellas toppled over and hit one of their customers in the face!! Avoid at all costs. Edited to reply to response: You must have us confused with someone else. We arrived 3 minutes before our reservation time. We were at the restaurant at 11:27 for an 11:30 reservation. There were 4 people in our party, not 2. I stand by my review. Terrible and dishonest establishment.
Michelle M — Google review
Breakfast Club was a mixed bag. Scrambled eggs were just okay—nothing special—but the buns were soft and enjoyable. Coffee? A total miss. Prices are fair, so if you’re just looking for a basic egg fix, it’s passable. But skip it if you’re after a good cup of coffee.
Umit K — Google review
Breakfast Flub! Haha. Boycott this place. SO many better options in beautiful Cassis. Worst service we had in France. Edit: I think you can get a good sense for how this establishment is run by how they respond to the negative reviews. They don’t take accountability or respect their customers. That’s there prerogative of course. I don’t think they will be in business much longer. Boycott…
