Shopping
Bluewater Shopping Centre is a popular destination in Greenhithe, offering a wide range of department stores, fashion shops, lakeside dining options, and a cinema. The area surrounding the shopping center provides various accommodation choices and is close to attractions like Swanscombe Heritage Park and Queen Elizabeth II Bridge. Dartford has historical significance with landmarks such as Holy Trinity Church and eighteenth-century buildings on the high street.
Bluewater is a great place to shop, huge shopping center! There's a good variety of places to eat. Free parking is a big bonus too. Really nice to go for a walk by the small lake after a dinner/lunch if the weather is nice ☺️ highly recommended!
Berna G — Google review
Bluewater is an amazing place, easy to find and parking, plenty of. Shop for everyone, high end or "normal". Food from loads of different countries. Places itself is just nice. Now very Christmas style so warm and cozy. What else? Just go and visit the place. Worth it😊
The D — Google review
Some of the stores closed at 8pm when online closing times are 9pm so disappointing, a lot of empty retail units, and the centre lacks visual inspiration inside lots of the features have been removed, so it's all very bland, was also very hot, if you park at John Lewis when they close you have to find alternative way out Also fire exit doors are locked a huge safety concern I have visited many times over 25 years and find it's changed but not for the better on the positive side plenty free parking, shops and food outlets, toilets worth a visit
Lucy W — Google review
Great place for shopping, plenty of fashion shops, eateries and entertainment, Cinema, kids climbing, Ballerz, etc. easy parking and loads of disabled spots close the entrances on each floor of the multistories.

Me and my family really enjoy day trip to Bluewater Shopping Centre it’s beautiful and find great things many stores and food halls I really recommend to visit there your day will be amazing.☺️
Nadia F — Google review
One of the best shopping centres around! Bluewater is always a great day out — it’s clean, modern, and has an amazing variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options all in one place. The layout is easy to navigate, and there’s plenty of parking available. The staff throughout the centre are always polite and helpful, and it’s clear the place is well looked after. Whether you’re shopping, grabbing a meal, or just having a wander, Bluewater has something for everyone. Love coming here every time!
Dale U — Google review
Love this place. Massive shopping complex with all retail shops you can think of - medium to premium. Food Hall is good with different options. The only issue is the parking, Not sure why people do not prefer parking in the parking building near John Lewis. There is plenty there.
Mangalaram S — Google review
I always find something relevant for what I’m looking for here, but if you come close to Christmas be conscious it gets incredibly busy and parking can be a nightmare. When you go outside of the Christmas period parking is better but it can still get busy at peak times. The centre however is always clean and tidy and public transport links are good. If you don't mind busy shopping centres then this will be right up your street you will most definitely heal yourself if you need retail therapy!!

Chain retailer selling home, garden & leisure products, including furniture & kitchen equipment.
I generally like this store. Good selection of all household products plus the blingey bits for your house..... But service is terrible only two tills working. And o so slow. And when there is no bar code and they put a call out for someone to come it takes ages. And all the time the queue just gets longer. Pehaps it would be better especially when it's busy to open all the tills to keep customers Moveing...
Keith D — Google review
Visited this store and noticed it was very messy and the price tags on products were not placed correctly and staff very laid back. The shop needs a good turn around and cleanup which would improve the customer shopping experience.

Good quality items. some items are expensive and you can find better or the same one in B&m store at cheaper price. Good collection of mirrors and home decor. I would suggest to check Ikea, Home bargain and B&M before buying from Range.

Love the range and this is no exception, nice big store packed with everything you might want, bonus that it is surrounded by other good stores. Big carpark. Easy to maneuver also has an upstairs and there's a lift a bonus if you have bad knees like me

The range is a little expensive in terms of what I was expecting BUT fabulous choice of products.. this outlet also had a great cafe too...

IKEA Lakeside is a sprawling haven for home enthusiasts, offering an extensive range of ready-to-assemble furniture, textiles, lighting, and decor. This Scandinavian giant has mastered the art of affordability without compromising on style. Shoppers flock here not just for the impressive SEKTION kitchen cabinets but also to explore countless other products that cater to diverse tastes. The store's layout is designed for convenience with ample parking—including electric charging stations—and easy access for everyone.
Great store and easily able to spend whole afternoon here. Also have kids face painting for Easter. Lots of showrooms with inspiration how to decorate own house. Amazing options for home and kitchen storage. Not as much plant options. Not much queue at self checkout but some queues at customer service

You can’t go wrong with IKEA! Also really great to just arrive there and have a ridiculously cheap breakfast before you walk around. I think it’s an absolutely wonderful idea and I hope they keep doing it for a long time. The place wasn’t too busy, even though it was a Sunday, and the checkouts were fast. It’s always an easy place to get around, and you always seem to find exactly what you want to fill in those little spots in the house.

IKEA is amazing invention. 90% of my furniture are from here, great quality, things last. Few days ago I also tried their kids Creche. 60 min free child care for 3-10 years olds ! It’s amazing. You get a buzzer thing to notify once your time is finishing. Had a lovely catchup with my friend while kids were playing
Edita L — Google review
Bring your deck chair when ordering food at ikea your in for the long haul !! The queues are mental and your most likely not waiting for less then 30-40 minutes of which I waited This was my first time going to Ikea but also trying the food , the shopping experience was great and easy to navigate . But the food left a lot to be desired ! Was looking forward to the infamous meatballs but they was a bit meh if you ask me and pretty much a hype job With the cheap tasting meatballs , although I did like the sort of cheap synthetic gravy they top it with ! I did buy some of the frozen meatballs to see if I could sort of jazz it up at home . The star of the food show was that berry crumble cheesecake !! My god that was soooo good !!!!! I should of just had the pudding So overall you get a sort of okay value for money , but the quality of food doesn’t really reflect value . The other disappointing area is the selection of drinks from the drinks machine Many of which I’d never tried so I tried all of them and nearly all of them didn’t taste great , you can tell there watered down so much it was pretty much water , I think the only the one that tasted remotely any good was the lingonberry Gimme some cheap coke or lemonade any day of the week then that rubbish ! Drinks selection needs to be drastically improved For more food content follow me on socials @bigchefeats

The Good. Visited today with my 6 year old child to purchase new bedding. Started in the Café food wasnice and well priced. The lady at the checkout kindly pointed out the glass i had only enabled Blackcurrant, which was fine. Entered the store and asked for some directions and advice at the bed section. The lady gave me all the info needed and was well mannered. In the textile/bedding and young chap gave me the exact detail of the duvet pillow and covers i needed, which helped immensely. These stores aren't overly staffed, which helps to ensure competitive prices for us consumers but great help nonetheless. The Bad When convenient my way to collect the mattresses from the self serve area I decided it would be best to upgrade from the foam mattress to the sprung version as the additional cost of £90 offered great value once again. Found the foam version and assumed the sprung version would be in close proximity, which wasn't the case. Asked 3 members of staff for some assistance, and none of them could help. I was short on time and purchased the 2 foam versions begrudgingly. The Damn Right Ugly We were in desperate need of a toilet. A kind lady led us to a shortcut, and we hurriedly headed towards the WC in this checkout. WC, there was a significant change in the quality of staff customer service. My 6 year old was physically stopped from heading to the toilet as he had £65 of goods in a yellow basket. I explained to security to keep the basket, and we would collect it when finish the child was a little distressed, but nothing major. We still needed to collect the mattresses. Went back, retrieved the trolley from him, said thank you, asked if he knew roughly where Isle 65 was, and he pointed to the general vicinity. During this conversation, a female employee rudely interrupted, muttered something about Loomis, and turned around. I politely advised her that the way she spoke to him and interrupted was a tad rude. She completely agreed yet failed to offer empathy or apology. By the time I returned to the self-serve checkout, the staff were obviously monitoring me as a result of some sort of internal communication. They made that obviously clear. I looked different from every other shopper in that area and clearly fitted their ethnic profile of a shoplifter (I don't think I do) they just constantly glared at me. The 3 yellow baskets i now had crossed an imaginary unmarked geographical line (very odd). A young lady who had just joined the carry-on had good interpersonal skills and was very helpful (not sure if security had sent her too). Now surrounded and being glared at by security, I got a little flustered at breaking these unexplained imaginary lines, i thought it best to return these baskets before all hell broke loose went to grab the one behind be and the middle aged lady sitting at the checkout physically yanked it away from me. The child was looking round bemused during the whole debacle. Finally, I was given a shopping trolley by the pleasant lady who knew there was no need for this treatment and left having forgotten to pay and being politely reminded by her that I needed to do so which I did. Im not a shoplifter, and IKEA, your use of this profiling is offensive and disgraceful. To top it off, I was asked if I was a friend or family member - I almost choked. Close your stores and go strictly online as the walk-in customer experience is no longer a priority of value to you.

Big ikea shop, has everything and anything that ikea has to offer. The restaurant is great and the store is open until 10pm sometimes. I have been there a few times and it does get extremely busy on the weekends so the best time to go is during the week in the evening and you’ll find it’s very quiet

Good selection of all items for your home. Went for bedroom furniture and the choice shown in room set ups are very helpful. Chose our bedroom furniture and the young lady who helped with the ordering was so helpful and it was completed in minutes. The coffee shop was very impersonal but l just wont use that part again. Will use the shop again

Grays Beach Riverside Park in Thurrock, Essex, is a popular destination overlooking the River Thames. The park offers a variety of activities for all ages, including a large sandy play area with equipment suitable for different abilities, a play ship, zip line, and climbing structures. Visitors can also enjoy an urban beach just a short drive away, featuring a sandpit, skate ramp, splash park, ball court, walking trails, and picnic areas.
Great place for the kids!! Large sand pit with many apparatuses for children to busy themselves. Nice patch of greenery surrounds the pit and pavement that borders the pit where many children were rollerskating! A small park with swings and slides are also within the area. You can also grab something to eat from The Lightship Cafe, or simply grab an ice cream 🍦 Was a sunny day and my daughter really enjoyed it on her own.

Although it’s definitely not a real beach and it needs a bit of TLC, the riverside park was good for a nice walk. It’s dog-friendly and I could see the small kids were having fun on the rides and in the sand. Nature does a good job of making it pleasant and there are some great views overlooking the water.

Very nice playground for our 2 and half year old son to play around in. Plenty of rides to go on and a fun atmosphere . Our son loved the ducks and geese and he enjoyed feeding them . There were also people racing toy boats on the lake which was nice to observe We will definitely head back soon.

Never been before, popped down outside of paid parking hours (after 6pm) to have a look and see if it was worth a daytime visit. Lovely walk along the river path, and the play area looks lots of fun for the kids. Will be back.

Better than we expected for a short day out with the kids. Plenty bouncy fun, splash zone, and large sandy play area all within the park. And a cafe which serves plenty and those hot sugar ring donuts 😋. Recommend 👍 enjoy and relax
Harjit C — Google review
Amazing place, you better buy parking for at least 3 hrs. There is so much to explore here. Advised to take a few sets of change of cloths and shoe which is easy to remove as sand will go everywhere, better remove it. About the park, there is a toddler area which is fenced so the little ones can’t just run off. It has a small slide and little things to enjoy. In the giant sandpit there is thinks to do for all ages and there is wheelchair accessible play area too. Outside of the sandpit there are swings, and also wheelchair accessible play stuff. There is plenty green area to do your own games too. There is entertainment this time of the year, small train, big train, water play, mini golf - these you have to pay for around £2 or a bit more. There is a cafe and toilets.

TGI Fridays at Lakeside Retail Park is a casual American restaurant with a lively atmosphere, offering an extensive menu of American dishes along with beer and cocktails. The area also features other dining options like Tim Hortons and McDonald's, as well as local pubs for those who enjoy a pint. Additionally, there are healthcare facilities nearby to cater to any medical needs. This popular chain provides a consistent dining experience with its signature dishes and vibrant ambiance.
Service from Roy and Sophie at our celebratory was honestly amazing, they couldn’t have done any more for us all. 100% recommend this TGI!
Sam S — Google review
I have been coming to this location for years now ever since I was a kid, and I am ashamed to say how the mighty have fallen. What happened with the great atmospheric TGI’s of yesteryear? Going back either 10 or 15 years ago and you could never get to the bar, Now, if anything you can run round it with a clear path. I feel that the food is quite expensive for what you get these days, saying that, it is edible at least. I’ve given the food five stars because I don’t believe that is the problem. They are never normally busy now, which is sad to see but you’d think that the service would be even better as a result, but it is not, if anything is the opposite and we used to be served better when they was three deep in the restaurant alone. Barely any staff working. Except for my pal Roy, who me and my family have got to know over the years and a few others who were great but not as fast as usual What I’m trying to say is, I feel that this is a chain which is sadly no more and should just hang up their belt while they can and accept a great long legacy they’ve created rather than running it into something out of desperation that it can’t be anymore. I for one feel, that only way to inject life into this Iconic building (which I love itself) would be, if it was no longer associated with the TGI’s brand. Keep the American theme by all means, but it would need to be an independent diner. Then, just one of a kind location might actually get some custom through the door. Thank you
Bobby B — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’ve been coming to this TGI Fridays at Lakeside Retail Park for around 20 years now, and I’ve always had a soft spot for it. TGI’s has been a longtime favourite of mine, and this location in particular has always delivered when it comes to the food. The classics still hit the same — the Jack Daniel’s ribs, sesame chicken strips, fajitas, and boneless wings are just as tasty as ever. The chocolate fudge fixation and the s’mores sundae are always a must and never disappoint. When it comes to the food itself, they’ve stayed true to what made TGI’s so popular in the first place. That said, the overall experience just isn’t what it used to be. The place is starting to feel a bit tired and worn out. Tables were a little sticky, and the whole space could do with a deep clean and a refresh. It also seemed quite understaffed — service wasn’t bad, but it felt stretched and lacking the upbeat energy TGI’s is known for. Still love TGI Fridays as a brand, and I’d hate to see this location fade away, but it definitely needs some attention and investment — especially with another TGI’s just across the road at Lakeside Quay. Food is still great, but service, cleanliness, and atmosphere are just ok now. Prices are also creeping up, which makes the drop in overall experience more noticeable. Really hope this spot gets the love it deserves — it’s been a go-to for so many years.

Lovely restaurant, very understanding of my partner's gluten intolerance and had options. Lovely food and always a warm welcome from staff. It can get a bit busy fridays and Saturdays though so bear that in mind. Was some kids running riot climbing everything but no fault of the restaurant.

We had an amazing experience at TGI Fridays Lakeside thanks to Roy, the manager. From the moment we arrived, he was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive. When we had trouble signing up for the kids’ meal promotion, Roy went above and beyond to make sure the children still received their free meals without any stress. His professionalism, kindness, and genuine care made a big difference in our visit. The service throughout was excellent, and Roy made sure we were well taken care of at every step. Thank you, Roy, for making our meal so special — we will definitely be coming back!

Indian restaurant
Nestled in Grays, Thurrock, Shampaan is a vibrant and contemporary curry house that has been delighting diners since 1975. Originally known as the Night Palace, it holds the distinction of being the first Indian restaurant in Thurrock. With its bright artwork adorning white walls, Shampaan offers a delightful blend of classic and modern Indian and Bangladeshi dishes. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, enhanced by friendly staff who ensure every visit feels special.
Can't believe I've never given a review for Shampaan! A+! Me and the wife have been going here for 6 years now and when people visit we always take them here to show them the best Indian food around! The staff are always friendly and welcoming, atmosphere is warm and cosy, along with Indian music and lights around the ceiling. Anyway.... The food! We just can fault it. I always try a different starter and always enjoy it. On Sunday they do a great deal, £14.95 which includes a starter, main, side and rice from 13:00-16:00hrs. Chef specials and seafood included but at an additional cost. We always have to ask for takeaway boxes and we just can't finish the meals but don't wanna waste them. Provided with hot towels from packets at the end and offered a complimentary small spirit at the end - always like the touch when it's offered. There's a s dessert menu that we try to squeeze in but really isn't possible every time. There's a decent sized car park round the back but also free street parking if you can find it. This is our favourite Indian restaurant and even when we move we'll definitely keep coming back!

We had a wonderful experience at Shampaan Restaurant in West Thurrock. The food was absolutely succulent and plentiful – the mixed grill in particular was a real standout! A special mention to our waiter, Azad, who looked after us brilliantly throughout the evening. Wimpy is a casual dining establishment with a vast selection of burgers, mixed grills, and other comforting dishes. While it has become known for its relaxed atmosphere, Wimpy in Grays falls short as they do not offer delivery to the nearby town of Stanford-le-Hope. Nonetheless, customers rave about the exceptional customer service and delicious food that this long-standing chain provides. The restaurant is highly recommended for those seeking quality meals and attentive staff.
Met a few friends for lunch. Very accommodating with pushing tables together for us. Food and service good. Stayed quite a while but did not feel pressured to leave.

Wimpy is my new go to place. These sausage egg muffins were a game changer.

This place is honestly the most best to grub and enjoy, I got the bacon and cheese burger and it was delicious, the tender, the juicyness was just way out of this world, this is highly recommended and definitely a good area to eat and enjoy

Great customer service. Food is also great! Really recommend if you are looking for good food and service. Only second time here and both experiences have been great!

Unexpectedly good place to eat with great food and friendly staff. Food surprised me with great taste and presentation. I also did not expect such a variety to choose from. Best chicken burger I ever ate in my life. Wide choice of desserts and shakes.

Great food. Excellent service from staff.

Very poor customer service at Grays Shopping Centre. I wanted to feed my 7 week old baby and one of the waitresses offered me seat then gave menu. I didn’t order anything as only wanted to feed and then think about ordering something if I feel like. Another waitress came to me and told me that this area is only for customers. I’ll never go there again.
