Sedlec Ossuary, also known as the 'Bone Church,' is a small Gothic chapel located beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. It is adorned with garlands of human skulls, a bone chandelier, and chalices made from the bones of over 40,000 individuals. This macabre yet captivating site attracts visitors worldwide who are eager to witness its unique artistry and contemplate mortality.
Great piece of history that is well taken care of! Not too crowded on a Sunday but some people was a little bit disrespectful to the place and used the phone or camera when it is forbidden inside. Take your time to watch the video upstairs before you go inside. This will help you appreciate it even more.
Robin E — Google review
Very interesting church. It is one of a kind. It was much smaller than I expected. Definitely worth the visit. My only disappointment is that it’s so unique but you can’t take a picture of yourself inside. Granted there are few people who do not show respect when taking a pic, the remainder of the folks have to suffer for other’s bad decisions. this place is good for a quick stop.
Anand — Google review
Interesting and unsettling historic site. The information and videos about the restoration work makes you appreciate the dedication and craftsmanship of the people involved in creating the Ossuary and now ensuring the site is kept safe is really impressive.
Andy M — Google review
An absolutely fascinating and hauntingly beautiful place to visit. The Sedlec Ossuary is unlike anything else — both eerie and awe-inspiring at the same time. The artistry and respect shown in how the bones are arranged is incredible; it really makes you reflect on history, mortality, and craftsmanship all at once. I visited on a weekday and had almost no wait to get in, which made the experience even better. The site is well-preserved, informative, and surprisingly peaceful. Highly recommend stopping here if you’re anywhere near Kutná Hora — it’s a quick trip from Prague and completely worth it. Buying tickets in advance isn’t necessary if you go early in the day, but it can’t hurt during busy seasons.
Keith B — Google review
Came to Kutna Hora being a fan of KCD 2, and had to stop by this famous spot. I think my girlfriend thought I was a bit off for wanting to go to a church, but she ended up loving it just as much as me! Also don't be a doofus, pay attention and NO PHOTOGRAPHY OR VIDEOS!! There's a visitor's center just a short walk down the street where you buy tickets, or you can do so online ahead of time. Gift shop was cool, had some KCD related items as well
Richard B — Google review
Gorgeous but small ossuary. I'd give it five stars if it was allowed to tak pictures. I'd just like to have memory of my visit, respectfully.
Daphne — Google review
First need to know in advance buy tickets online there is no time slots it's valid all day (time slots are beeing added October 2025) second only a 1 hour/ 45mins form the center of Prague. ☠️ When there NO photose!! You just have to go see it for yourself definitely memorable and there is amazing coffee shop opposite and a lovely walk 15 mins away.
Erin-Grace C — Google review
Unfriendly staff. There is no ticket office at the location. There is no explanation of the history of the place. High price. Half of the place is well kept, the other half is ”ongoing”. Place serves it purpose: you get the immediate vibes of looking at real bones of thousands of people. You have to be into it to enjoy the experience. I didn’t. Would not recommend.

Churches & Cathedrals
The Cathedral of Assumption of Our Lady and St. John the Baptist is a stunning UNESCO-listed Catholic church that showcases a blend of Baroque and Gothic styles. Originally built in the 14th century, it was the first French Gothic church in Czech lands and the largest religious building in Bohemia at that time. Despite being burned by Hussites in the 1400s, it was restored to its former glory with a Baroque influence in the early 18th century.
This is the first attraction in Kutná Hora as you come from the train station. NOTE you buy your tickets either online or from the info kiosk. You cannot buy tickets at the churches.
Bridger J — Google review
The only town in the Czech Republic with 2 Cathedrals!!! This is one of them, and the other is located in the Town Center. The Church of the Assumption of Our Lady and Saint John the Baptist (Czech: Kostel Nanebevzetí Panny Marie a svatého Jana Křtitele) is a Gothic and Baroque Gothic church north-east of Kutná Hora in the Czech Republic and is listed in the UNESCO World Heritage List together with the Church of St. Barbara and other monuments in Kutná Hora. It is one of the most important Czech Gothic buildings built in the time of the last Přemyslids and also a very important and one of the oldest examples of the Baroque Gothic style (connected with the Czech Baroque architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel).
Buster I — Google review
Gorgeous cathedral thats worth dropping into if in the area. Close to the bone church and included in the ticket price for that, the building is worth a visit, even if just to appreciate the architecture.
Lynsey H — Google review
Though outside it doesn’t look appealing no doubt should visit this baroque style building and its a unesco site
Pam K — Google review
You can buy a packaged tickets including the Bone chapel and St Babara’s
Joseph W — Google review
Don't go now! Half of the church is under construction, iron reconstruction stairs ruin any silence, the beautiful Santini stairs totally covered by cloth. Despite that, no deduction of entrance fee. A beautiful place that I have visited several times before, but not worth visiting in summer 2025.
Helena L — Google review
Probably the least interesting cathedral you'll ever see. It's mildly interesting to go to the upper galleries and above the arches but there's nothing to see and nothing labeled. This place is bundled with the ossuary ticket.
Gabriel G — Google review
Sedlec is currently a part of Kutná Hora. In 1142 twelve Christian monks, invited by the nobleman Miroslav of Markvartice, came here. The monks were supposed to build a monastery here, which became the first and oldest monastery of this order in the Czech Republic. + pretty architecture and art + interesting view on the construction of the ceiling through the attic + art collections all over the church and attic

The Italian Court in Kutna Hora, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a former royal palace that now houses a museum of coin minting. This 1400s building features an elegant chapel and an ornate Audience Hall. The town itself boasts stunning Gothic architecture, including the magnificent St. Barbara's Church and the Italian Court, which was once used as the royal mint for producing the famous Prague groschen.
We visited it yesterday. The place is full of medieval history and well preserved. You can reserve a guided tour online and enjoy the experience of create your own groschen (Prague's coin). Many thanks to our guide Alex and Aneshka (sorry if I write the name wrong) who helped us doing our groschen. We hope to come back during summer season to enjoy the city . With love, Virginia and Facundo, two Argentinians living in The Netherlands
Virginia C — Google review
Jesus Christ be praised, buy a ticket in advance because we missed the ticket office door and ended up sneaking through the entire tour for free until they caught us at the coin minting exhibit. An easy speech check allowed us to buy a ticket and resume the tour however.
DAN L — Google review
The tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging and getting to mint my own coin was a unique and memorable experience. Something did yank my pizzle during my visit there... in the main courtyard there was a fountain. In the middle of a city? Where does the water come from?
Christopher H — Google review
The guy at the reception is the best tour guide ever. I sadly missed the English tour but had to follow the Czech language one. He explained some key points separately after the speech in English. And patiently answered all my questions with great range of knowledge. Just so helpful and charming. Besides there is a rather friendly one-eyed black cat wandering in their yard. If that wasn’t a right eye I’d take her as a symbol of Jan Žižka. There’s a lovely cat nest in the corridor and judging by her hair condition I can say she’s been taken good care of. Pet her! Such a lovely place to visit in anyways. But besides all of these, I FEEL QUITE HUNGRY!!!!!
Frank J — Google review
A ticket without a guide gets you almost nothing. The views from the garden are stunning though, but they don't require a ticket. Going with the guide apparently gets you to see the hall and more stuff inside.
Šarūnas P — Google review
We went there in Kutna Hora. Beautiful views and a park.
Maribel M — Google review
Generally speaking, this is a very beautiful place with long and interesting history, definitely worth to pay a visit, but I would like to use this opportunity to shout out our guide. I visited this place on 21st Aug 2025 and I took the guided tour in English at 14:30. Our guide did an absolutely amazing job, it was a very knowledgable person, who kept us all engaged and interested. I just wanted to say that the interior would probably be much less memorable to me personally, if it weren't for the way I was introduced to the history of this place! Thank you for this experience, it was one of the most interesting guided tours I've ever taken! PS If you want to take part in stamping you own Prague groschen, make sure to mention that at the register while buying the ticket, before entering the mint. For some reason, many people seem to be missing that information.

Very delicious food with amazing view and good price! I strongly recommend this place ! I celebrated my birthday here and it was incredible! I recommend the beef ribs in beer and the sherbet dessert!

Peaceful garden setting overlooking the nearby forest with views to the cathedral. Menu is reasonably broad with both Czech and English options. Food was sumptuous with good quantities, and service was attentive and friendly. Good value for money.
Chris E — Google review
Considering is one of the few places with a decent level of food, the only issue was the "timing" proposed by the waitress for waiting a table be available (from the 40 min she warning us, become 5 min) and the delivery time of the food from the ordering (25 min instead of the 40 min proposed). For the rest was according the expectation and the average ratio of the location (which I do believe should be not more than 4.5, but still top in Kutna Hora).
Houman T — Google review
An attractive location with typical Czech meals, that are not always available in Czech restaurants, but still classic one. That the reason for 5 stars for meals. If not, meal taste is good, with no surprises. If you are lucky and get a nice spot on the terrace, you will have a beautiful view on St.Barbara. Enjoy the place!
Sergej M — Google review
Had their mushroom ragout with potato dumplings and spinach. The dumplings were the kind of dumplings I was hoping for: buttery, savoury and soft. Rest of the meal, espacially the mushroom mixture paired well it. For drink they served me a řežane beer, which is dark beer poured over a normal beer. Can definitely recommend. Had nice outdoor seating with a nice view. Menu was in English as well, short to no waiting. Took about 15 minutes to serve after ordering

Fountains
The Gothic Stone Fountain, located in the heart of Rejsek Square, was constructed in 1495 to address the water shortage caused by extensive mining activities. This dodecagon-shaped structure originally had a roof and functioned as a reservoir, providing clean drinking water to the residents of Kutna Hora. Wooden piping extended over 2.5 kilometers to transport water from St. Adalbert spring to the fountain until the late 19th century.
An amazing fountain, right in the heart of the city. It felt almost magical to find something so special in such an unexpected spot. I kept wondering where the water came from, over and over again.
Robin — Google review
Beautiful historical fountain. But in the city center? I wonder where the water from. By the way there’s a blacksmith just 200 yards away. Better sneak here back midnight.
Frank J — Google review
A fountain?? I'm the middle of the city? Where can the water be coming from? 🤣 IYKYK I'll say, if you've played KCD 2 you'll really feel like you can recognize this spot.
Richard B — Google review
I was surprised that there was water there. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from.
Team V — Google review
Incredible fountain, here in the middle of the city, although I’m still unsure where the water came from…
Cristina — Google review
The fountain looks great and is worth visiting if you are in the area, but it's a shame it's surrounded by cars and parking spaces. It would be a nice centerpiece in a public square or a small park.
KJ — Google review
Drink the Gothic fountain water and taste the lovely essence of this historical masterpiece. Fine Gothic architecture in the midst of so many other historical landmarks in the bustling center of Kutna Hora, this piece caught my attention and prompted a nice sit and appreciate moment.

Hotel U Hrnčíře offers simple yet functional accommodations with complimentary Wi-Fi and an on-site restaurant featuring a charming terrace. Guests have praised the comfort food served at the restaurant, highlighting dishes such as the goose lunch special and chicken schnitzel for their delicious flavors and generous portions. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel has been commended, although some visitors have suggested that additional staff may be needed to enhance the service quality, particularly during busy periods.
This well located bed and breakfast offers great value for money. The room and bed were comfortable, and the shower offered plenty of water pressure. Wifi signal was strong. Breakfast was generous and tasty. The on-site restaurant also offers good meals at reasonable prices. All around are the medieval streets of Kutna Hora, with leading attractions a very short walk away. In the immediate vincity there is a good wine merchant (the medovina (mead) offered there is particularly good) and several restaurants and cafes. It is possible to park near to the hotel, though not on its door. Views from the hotel are pleasant, but far from spectacular. A good choice.

Stopped here for lunch. It was good comfort food with good pricing. We had the goose lunch special and chicken schnitzel. Both were tasty and the servings were generous. I brought in my mulled wine from across the street and they didn't complain or comment on it. Service was friendly and the place was cozy, warm and welcoming.

Food was OK, nice tarrace. The owner should definitely hire some more people, I felt bad seeing one poor waiter taking care of all tables outside. Even though he had a lot of things to do he was still still able to do the job great!
Kuba J — Google review
Terrasse okay, BUT I did not enjoy my dinner in this place. First, waiter was not friendly. We asked for a big rashberry lemonade to be shared. It seems that he was not very enthousiastic us to say that we will share the drink and answer us "okay 2 small rashberry lemonades then". My girlfriend insisted for a single one, as we asked. Lemonade was only served with syrup (in Czech republic, you could find lemonade with real fruit in it - when you attend to a nice restaurant...) I ordered an hermelin v bramboraku. Hermalin is supposed to be kind of camembert (little bit strong), I had a simple cheese (equivalent to smazene syr) instead, means my meal was not as tasty as I expected. Moreover I ordered a Topinka. Topinka is supposed to be a toasted bread on which we scratch garlic on it. I only received a fried toast of bread without any garlic taste. Disguting!! My friend ordered hanolky -> it was terrible industrial french fries (I mean good industrial french fries exists, not those one). Otherwise, Grilovana zelenina was okay. I don't recommend this place!!
Amedee V — Google review
Was an okay place to stay, more like a B&B than what you would describe a hotel. The rooms were very basic but they were clean! There was no English TV channels so unless you spoke Czech there was little point in the TV. The bathrooms again were quite basic with no toiletries provided. The hotel was in a great location just minutes away from the cathedral and town centre. The place had free wifi which was very easy to connect to with reasonable speeds so watching programs online was never an issue. Fresh towels were provided half way through the week but there wasnt any daily maid service. There was a continental style breakfast with tea coffee and juices and then a choice of scrambled eggs or eggs and ham. All in all a nice clean place to stay and a good location, just don't expect any luxury extras. But for the price you really can't complain.
Reece H — Google review
I love everything here except climbing up and down the stairs which always accompanies staying in a place with stories tail from generation to generations. Nice and clean heavy colored interior, great cuisine, good mulled wine, friendly and helpful staffs.

Very close to tourist places in a town. Good prices for typical Czech meals which they have in menu. Unfortunately they don't know how to brew beer, it takes so long time (other drinks came quickly). My fried cauliflower was little bit fat (too much oil), "american potatoes" was just bigger fries. Not very satisfied. Stuff is really rush which don't looks good but it was during the lunch time.

Good selection of food. Good prices for the quality. I have to agree with other reviews about smoke (from fried oil) in the restaurant. Also please note it is only cash restaurant. A part from these last two things, not bad.

Super little cafe open at 9AM when everything else in town opens at 10 or 11. Excellent awesome food, and the coffees were top notch. It wasn't crazy busy while we were there, maybe 4 tables the time it took us to have coffee and a baguette. The BLT baguette (pic) was fresh and perfect for lunch. The cafe also had a huge display of old vinyl full of Bob Dylan, Beatles, Pink Floyd etc., So expect some good music while you're here.

The staff is polite and provides excellent service, creating a calm and enjoyable atmosphere away from touristy areas. While language barriers may be present due to the untranslated menu, the copious and affordable local food makes for a satisfying meal.
Super affordable and the food was very tasty. The menu is easy to translate it you use the Google lens app. The service was fast and the food didn't take too long to arrive. I had chicken in a paprika sauce with dumplings and it was perfect. It was a huge plate of food for only 150 koruna.

This is more of a local spot it seemed, as the menus were only in Czech. But the beer was good and the steak fairly decent. Nothing to write home about, but good nonetheless. The waiters were not overly friendly, but I got served as soon as I sat down.

Proximity to the bonechurch and the cathedral made this a perfect place to stop and plan the trip back. Took a while to get a waitress and then took a while to get drinks, but i assume it was busier inside. I wanted something small to eat so had the beef broth which was very tasty! Prices were great, but they are a cash only business, so keep this in mind!

Simple good local food. Copious and abordable. But its for locals, menu are not translated language can be an issue. Excellent menu a mt 120 kc.

It was a great experience, real home-like Czech food, amazingly low prices and great portion sizes. I would never agree with the low reviews because of the wifi/bad attitude. I think the tourists can’t understand local culture and vibe. The place is great and cheap. Will definitely come back. ❤️

Nothing better than a good Czech beer by an open fire. The staff were very polite, friendly and gave an excellent standard of service. You lose that sense of being somewhere "touristy" it was a very calm and enjoyable visit.

I went to Kutna Hora to visit the town with my husband and baby and we stopped by this restaurant for a quick lunch. We were very happy with the delicious food and the service was also perfect. The interior were nice and warm. Recommended!

Day 2

Center of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with St Barbara's Church, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Tower - Havířská Bouda. All together, your day would be filled with about 6 hours of non-stop fun.

St. Barbara's Cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture located in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. The cathedral, with its sharp spines and flying buttresses, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most well-preserved churches in Central Europe. It was built between 1257 and 1281 and boasts five naves. The construction began in 1388 but wasn't completed until the early twentieth century. St.
Stepped into St Barbara’s on a bright morning and was immediately floored by that soaring Gothic nave—ribbed vaults twisting overhead like frozen webs. Sunlight streamed through vibrant stained glass, casting kaleidoscopic patterns onto centuries-old stone. Knowing it took over 500 years to complete—and that it was built by miners to rival Prague—makes every gargoyle, flying buttress, and delicate fresco feel like a statement of pride. Climbing up to peek at the exterior ribs and slender buttresses from inside was an unexpected highlight—architecture turned up close

Massive Gothic cathedral that serves as the main draw for this town. Beautiful interiors complement the towering external structure. Also featured intricate stained glass. There's a free audio/text guide that provided good context to the visit.
Sathish J — Google review
A beautiful church that rivals St Vitus Cathedral in Prague. We spent an hour+ here doing the audio guide on our phones. The audio guide was very informative and easy to use. The exterior of the church is gorgeous, it's hard to choose between St Barbara's or St Vitus in Prague Castle. The interior of the church is also very interesting and beautiful. It was lovely to see so many regences to the town's mining history.
Rebecca O — Google review
The entire complex of which the cathedral is a part is immense, extraordinarily beautiful, and the cathedral itself is huge, a construction that is no longer made nowadays. When you go up to the cathedral, you are enveloped by a feeling of well-being and happiness. You can buy a ticket just for the cathedral or another one that includes the ossuary from Sedlec , but the ossuary is just for advertising, it's not worth visiting, it's in another town, not far away.
Monica A — Google review
Very impressive cathedral- worth a visit. The audio guide was a bit boring, but maybe that’s just me! It’s very cool to go upstairs and walk around in the loft above the arched ceilings below!
Kevin S — Google review
Unbelievable! 10/10 must see! I've sen many pictures of this amazing Gothic church before coming here, but this is one of those places you simply have to experience. It doesn't even seem real. The detail of the masonry on both the exterior and interior are nothing short of stunnung. Stepping inside, was the most ornate and beautifully decorated church I've ever seen. From the masonry, to the carved statues painted and guilded in gold, simply stunning. And to think that construction started over 600 years ago is mind bending! Kuta Hora started as a simple monestary, until one of the monks found silver, and it quickly became one of the largest and wealthiest mines in Europe. At one point in time it was estimated that 30% of the silver that existed in Europe came from Kutna Hora, making it one of the wealthiest cities in all of Europe. With all that wealth came the funding to construct the fantastical. The Works started in 1388 and continued until 1588. Sadly, during the 200 years of construction, the mines began to run out of silver, and with it, the funds to continue construction. You will notice a seemingly plain and flat elevation on the north wall, a departure from the wildly complicated structure, leaving you impressed, but longing for the full vision to have been seen through. Tickets to enter are cheap, and beyond worth it.

A truly unique church/cathedral with the way it’s been built in separate parts over the last 600 years. For kingdom come deliverance fans it’s a must, I even bought a silver Groschen from the gift shop!

Specialty Museums
The Czech Museum of Silver is a small museum located in the historic center of Kutna Hora, offering insights into silver mining and local mining history. Visitors can explore an underground mine and view exhibits showcasing the city's rich mining heritage. Additionally, the museum is housed in Hradek (Little Castle), providing a unique setting for learning about the region's silver industry.
There’s two parts to this museum, part 1 is the exhibition and part 2 is the guided tour into the mine. You can choose to just go for one of them, or both. The tour was an amazing experiencing going into a real mine. I appreciate that they are concerned of our safety and pre-warned everyone about the enclosed environment we will be in. There’s two guides in the tour, one leading us and one following us at the back to ensure our safety. There is even a small fake mine to test our claustrophobia before we go in to the real mine. In the middle of the mine, our tour guide even simulated the conditions that the miners mined in. They were very knowledgeable and shared the history of Kutna Hora, the process of mining silver and even the lives of the miners. One tip is to join the tour with lesser people, because the mine is really small and cramped. The tour group can go up to 25 people but our small group of 7 people seemed perfect. There are Czech and English tours, but they also provided a file with translated version of the tour if you require. You can also buy a plain coin from the counter and mint your own coin using a hammer.

Museum of Silver in Kutha Hora is hidden gem of the city of Kutna Hora. It combines an exhibition of silver mining history in the region, with lots of very interesting information AND most importantly it also includes guided tour in the original silver mi e from 14th century. You walk through very narrow corridors 30 meters under the ground, you literally feel like traveling back in time. Absolutely amazing!!!
Vladimir N — Google review
We did the silver museum mine tour which was wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and conducting her first tour in English and she was very good! The tour was fascinating and covered the history, the process of mining, the tools and of course a visit down the mine itself. Book the tour ahead of time as places are limited. I would consider this a must if visiting Kutna Hora. Loved it.

Definitely high light of the day in Kutna Hora. Found this tour available in the afternoon and didn’t expect much, but it literally made our day. Great experience go under the silver mine, tour guide speaks very clearly. (We did the salt mine tour 4 days ago in Krakow, and this one is much better than that) Smaller group tour walking in the narrow tunnels, fun and educational experience.

I didn't know what to expect from this tour, but wow did I enjoy this one. Ondrej who was our guide did a great job explaining the mines and how they made coins. Don't miss this.

Fantastic tour of a recently rediscovered mine shaft from the middle ages, the tour guide was very knowledgeable about the towns history regarding silver mining and coin making throughout the Holy Roman Empire.

probably the best museum experience in my life. we got in tour with a very sweet english-speaking lady, who very passionately answered all of our questions and showed us the mines underneath Kutna Hora. we were a small group of 3 and we had plenty of space to crawl around. the upper building of Hradek is another museum exhibition about history of Kutna Hora and its silver mines, which is also very interesting to learn. must visit if you are in this sweet town. two combined tickets cost us 540czk, which is very cheap for this kind of experience

Went to the museum and participated in the "The Way of Silver"-tour. It was a really unique experience I'd never could've imagined. I really have no words to describe how amazing it was, a strong recommendation for the tour if you are going to Kutná Hora. Unless you have a fear of cramped spaces, there are quite tight spots, but that's just part of the charm. Wholehearted thanks to our amazing guides!

The hotel offers unfussy rooms, a spa area with a sauna and wellness center, and complimentary breakfast for guests. With 40 stylishly furnished rooms, modern presentation technology in training rooms, and recreational amenities like a spa tub, it's an ideal choice for travelers.
I absolutely loved this hotel. The service was extremely friendly and helpful, the room was clean and cozy, the included parking was more than sufficient for our van, and the location was superb for walking through Kutná Hora and taking the short train ride to the ossuary. Highly recommend and plan on going back.

Clean and big rooms, good location, satisfactory breakfast. Dinner worth a try, especially if you like the middle ages. Sauna a nice evening activity. Reminds me of a classic small town hotel. If you want to take a few days in Kuttenberg, because you have played KCD2 and are curious. This hotel is a good choice, and as a minimum I would eat a czech dinner here and look at the medieval decor. In a day you can walk to see most interesting places in Kuttenberg from the hotel :)

Thanks to Denisa our one night stay was amazing. We were here to visit Kutna Hora and the hotel is just a few minutes by feet from the Italian Court. The employees were all welcoming and the tavern style restaurant was an amazing way to end the day. Denisa gave us the best place to get Kolach and it was delicious 🫶

As an American woman traveling alone I felt safe and great location. Food at restaurant was delicious. Spa amenities were very nice, although strange to me that I had to make reservation for hot tub or sauna and pay additional. Room was clean and never heard neighbors. I did request more than 1 towel, 1 pillow and 1 blanket (it’s late October) but was denied. In the morning, you will be greeted by a howling dog or rooster…I couldn’t really tell.

Excellent value for money hotel around the corner from the town train station and adjacent to the old town of Kutna Hora. At this price point, it's incredible to get spacious, clean rooms, and with a view! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet (included in the nightly price) was very good.

Delicious food. Very kind staff. And nice rooms.
Maciej F — Google review
Comfortable, history-inspired experience with wellness. Overall we were very happy and enjoyed our time in the hotel. Our favourites were: The beer spa. The breakfast scrambled eggs with onion. The rooster waking us up in the morning. The friendly, quick working staff with a sense of humour. The tastefully "medieval" furnishing of the room. The "cut" beer (řezané), so skillfully tapped at the bar. There are small things that could be improved: The spa time has to be booked ahead, which is difficult to plan on a city vacation. The cleaning staff seems to miss a few spots, but overall the cleanliness was good. The spare ribs in the medieval tavern were dry and a very small portion - all other meals we had were tasty. There is an excellent coffee machine at the bar, yet the breakfast coffee comes out of a sad instant coffee thing next to it.

GASK, also known as the Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region, is a contemporary art space located in a 17th-century former Jesuit college. The gallery seamlessly blends modern architecture with its historical setting and offers numerous exhibition rooms featuring immersive installations and multimedia displays. Visitors can explore the permanent exhibit, which showcases artwork arranged by themes such as hope, friendship, and freedom, accompanied by thought-provoking quotes from Czech and world thinkers.
Total surprise... amazing exhibitions, perfectly curated and smartly narrated. And in the beautiful interiors of an old convent. What a blast

The inside of this gallery is super beautiful to watch, with a minimalist vibe in the corridors. Some rooms are super detailed on the roofs so I suggest you to have a walk around. There's also a bar in the inside where you can sit and enjoy some peaceful time. There are many entrances and it's located next to the main church. Take a look at the pictures so you can have an idea about the place. Enjoy it ;)
Ignazio A — Google review
This is a remarkably good art museum for a small city like Kutna Hora. It's campus is next to the famous cathedral. I spent 15 min in the cathedral and more than 3 hours in the art museum, including some time in the garden and the coffee shop. The artwork in the permanent exhibit is arranged by themes, such as hope, friendship, freedom, mind, and many more. The pieces of art on a given theme are accompanied by interesting quotes on the specific theme, quotes by prominent Czech and world thinkers. Thus, the exhibit is bi-modal, paintings and text. I think this gallery alone would justify a visit to Kutna Hora. An old town stroll would be a nice complement to the gallery visit.

I think I spent way too much time here, because it was so good. I came here because of a temporary installation of art pieces by Válovy sisters, but I've looked through the entire gallery and i very much enjoyed it. It was wonderfully curated, art pieces were divided by themes and complimented by thought-provoking quotes. Also, if you come here, don't forget to stay at the local café, as it's also very good and helps you refresh yourself after hours of looking at art.

Incredibly foul smell all around of raw sewage, leaking from nearby restaurant. The tower looks nice, but they accept only cash in 2023, and there is weird trap-like mechanism at the doors to the tower which lets you in for free but won't let you out without paying cash first.

Iluv A — Google review
The one star is for the view, which was surely nice. However, the experience was ridiculous: a turnstile to get to the elevator + payment to sit in a cafe at the top...this was a first, but fine. It was the service, which was more than unpleasant, that is the reason for the poor review. The attitude and manners of the lady heading the counter made us want to leave as soon as possible. Please don't interpret this is the standard for the Czech Republic or the region!

The view was really great and beer was nice but eating their potato cakes with some mushrooms - or God knows what it was - served cold, in a pool of old oil, led to long-lasting diarrhea and two days of fever. Not what I've expected from my vacation. If you consider that other opinions also mention poor quality of their food, I think it would be the best and safest for you to just go there and drink beer or two with a beautiful sight in front of you.
Marek M — Google review
We came here for drinks and the view. Service was great, and the view was amazing. The first beer I ordered tasted sour. I sent it back, and got a good beer. I repeated this process with my second beer too. I don't know how often they clean the draught system, but I would guess the beer was souring in dirty lines. I expect better than this, especially in the Czech Republic.

We were there to grab a dinner. At first, there were only four normal dishes to choose from. They served us small portions, the food was not so good and really expensive (in comparison to the quality). Than we recieved bill and the final price was 710,- (no problem for three people). So we told 750,- is ok. We forgot to check the terminal, but you normally trust the waiter. We got to our car and at that time we found out, that they put on terminal 850,-. So they "robbed" us for 100,-. We will never come back. Shame on you.

Since i was staying at the hotel, I was excited the restaurant was rated 4.5 stars. The rating was the best part of my experience. The service was curt at best (which I don't really factor much in my overall rating), and the food was just bad. I left most of my plate and walked to a local store to get some snacks for the evening. I ordered the duck and had to stop a couple times to make sure what I was chewing was not bone. Note that the restaurant was crowded, so I could have just had bad luck. But I felt obligated to provide a differing perspective from the top ranks that led me there.

Had the beef broth with liver dumplings, broth was light and fragrant and liver was very mild. Also had the local goulash with meat dumplings. The sauce gravy for the dumplings was delicious. The sauna at the hotel is also very nice and relaxing.

Food was good and tasted homemade. Nothing crazy but still tasty. The restaurant has a medieval times room with fun decor. We got the duck and dumplings and the mushroom pasta and we’re happy with it.

Kačina is a stunning 19th-century mansion located east of Kutna Hora in the Czech Republic. The chateau boasts an impressive Empire-style design and is surrounded by a large park, making it a picturesque destination for visitors. The main building features exquisite halls that once served as the residence of the noble family, while adjacent wings with pillared colonnades housed guest rooms. The property also includes pavilions connected to these wings.
Beautifully maintained building. We visited during summer,so we can see beautiful flowers and butterflies. The structure has beautiful Empire style looks. Functionally, the castle is divided into three parts. The main (central) building with exquisite halls was the residence of the family, with two quarter circle adjacent lower wings with pillared colonnades where the guest rooms were situated. To those wings were connected other pavilions. In the right one is situated the mansion's chapel and theatre, which were finished in the first half of the 19th century. In the left one, there is an extensive library dating from the 16th to 19th century. The castle is surrounded by a vast park that was founded already in 1789, according to the plan of famous Viennese botanist Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin (1727–1817).
Akhil K — Google review
This beautiful castle is actually a large manor and a well kept English garden. The garden is very nice for walking in, it is peaceful and well maintained. The castle itself consists of three parts, we did a guided tour for the library and theater. The tour took an hour, the guide was a retired gentleman who really enjoyed being a guide. We learned a lot, and enjoyed the tour. This time of year is off-season. I can imagine the garden being even more beautiful with blossoming flowers, but I can also imagine lots of people wanting to visit at the same time.

Lovely manor house in the countryside. Beautiful walks around the grounds and very interesting museum inside. Well worth the visit. Coffee and cake in the cafe are a bonus

Great place to visit. Huge park which slowly transfers to the forest. Nice for long walks. Directly on the castle there are permanent visits about county living and some short term seasons activities.

The museum of agriculture is not bad, but the highlights are the library and the theatre. If you had a chance to matchbyour visit with the ocean air market, concert or theatre, do it. The chateau has also nice arboretum and vineyards!

An 18th-century, neo-classical castle of great artistic and historical value. Its theatre, a real jewel, is fairly well preserved and deserves to be considered a Unesco heritage site.

The Ringelland zoo is a worthwhile destination for families, featuring tigers, alpacas, lions, and other large felines. It is child-friendly and offers convenient free parking right in front of the entrance. Children thoroughly enjoy their time here, marveling at the fascinating animals on display. The staff is welcoming and even allows visitors to interact with a large turtle being moved around.
Worth to visit minizoo with tigers, alpakas, lions and some other "big cats". It's kids friendly with free parking just in front of the entrance. Our kids enjoyed the place and admired the animals. Staff is friendly and we could touch a big turtle while it was brought from one place to another :). Entry fee is voluntary, so come with some cash, also if you wanted to buy some souvenirs (no credit cards here, but this is no Disneyland, so I don't mind. It just would be a plus).

We went in and were ignored for a long time while they served other customers. When we finally tried to order from the English menu, the waiter told us the items were not available, pointed to the Czech menu, and walked away without helping us. The Chocolate Museum in Kutna Hora is a small but charming attraction that offers a delightful experience for chocolate enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The museum showcases the story of the renowned Lidka brand, which gained international success before folding in 1993 due to political turmoil. Visitors can explore old memorabilia, signs, and molds while learning about the brand's intriguing history.
It is a definitely a small museum but the owner is making a short tour of the exhibition. He made us dark hot chocolate 🍫 and have us to taste us much chocolates us we like. For sure a must seen.

Absolutely lovely owner who helped us find the right chocolate for ourselves and gifts for friends. They have a great selection of vegan chocolate as well, the obvious dark chocolates, but even some vegan white and vegan milk chocolate. He even prepared us some vegan hot chocolate which tasted delicious. Highly recommended!

Really fun experience! The tour was pretty cool and informative. The staff was really kind and eager for you to sample their chocolates so you find your perfect pick! If you’re looking for authentic here it is! This was also where I first tried hot chocolate with Griotka, it was the best thing ever. I highly suggest you try!

The lady who served us was lovely and very knowledgeable. We did the tour/history of chocolate in Kutna Hora which was very interesting. We also had tasters of lots of different chocolates before deciding which ones to buy. All of the tasters were great. We bought 3 bars for ourselves and 1 to gift (Ginger and orange dark chocolate, Dark chocolate and raspberry, white chocolate and raspberry and plain 70% dark chocolate). We also had the hot chocolate which was really nice. I had the plain and my partner had the ginger one. I would definitely recommend this shop and the tour/history of you're in the area.

Small but cosy chocolateria shop with a museum-like display of history of a famous local brand. Wide selection of chockies, bit pricey but delicious. The museum part is free, guide included. The shopkeeper was very pleasant & helpful and you can ask anything choco-related. Just wish there were more tables to sit at.

This is a great little museum and chocolate shop. The museum only consists of 1 small room with memorobilia which the shop keeper gives a tour where you among other things learn how Nestle destroyed the chocolate industry in Czech. The tour in itself is free but you are expected to pay in tips. Afterwards you get to taste some of the delicious chocolate they are making and of course we bought some. If you are a fan of chocolate you should go here

The outer architecture contrasts with the interiors and content of the building. It offers a small but interactive museum experience for a fee, making it worth a visit. The house also features a restaurant serving delicious Czech cuisine and their own brewed beer.
A fantastic interactive display about Unesco heritage site in Czechia, with many hands on activities for children. Very kind personnel, a few lockers for medium sized bags (have a 5 or 10 czk coin ready for the locker key deposit). We visited with a 5 and a 9 year old, they loved it.

The outer architecture in direct contract with the interiors and the content of the building. It would use some more suitable content, the reference to Mikulas Dacicky of Hesov might be advisable. Still, remembering the ruins it was 5 years ago, well done to the town hall! Now, back to these interiors...

The Plague Column (Morovy sloup) in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic, is a Baroque gem built between 1713 and 1715 to commemorate the thousands who perished during the plague epidemic. Standing at over 16 meters high, it features intricate carvings and sculptures of Mary, cherubs, and saints. Modeled after the Holy Trinity Plague Column in Vienna, this monument serves as a reminder of the devastating plague of 1713-1715.
This sculpture is so full of carved details, it is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area. Built in memory of the victims of the plague, it's intricately carved and so well maintained, a stunning piece of history.
Bianca W — Google review
Brno’s Plague Column is a beautifully crafted Baroque monument, celebrating deliverance from the plague and honoring protective saints. It adds both historical depth and sculptural beauty to the city’s main square.
Maria A — Google review
The column is supposed to be a reminder of the plague of 1713-1715. I can't read Czech, but I don't see any reference to the plaque on the column at all. It does however look like a typical Marian column with a sculpture of Mary at the apex of the column which has been sculpture to look like clouds and cherubs to look like the assumption of Mary. At the base of the column are four saints, although I could only identify St Sebastian. The monument is well executed and is worth a look when visiting the city.
Macedonboy — Google review
The column is a sight to see in it's self, but the whole town of Kutna Hora has many wonderful things and places to see.

The Plague Column, also known as the Column of the Virgin Mary Immaculate, is located in Kutná Hora, Šultysova street. The FILM LEGENDS EXPERIENCE MUSEUM Kutná Hora AvP/Sci-fi special is a must-visit for fans of science fiction and horror movies. The museum offers an atmospheric experience with an abundance of film memorabilia, props, and immersive set decorations. Visitors can pose with life-size characters, take pictures with guns, and even sit on the throne. The museum spans 5 levels, including an underground floor, and offers student discounts on tickets.
Very interesting place displaying the work of private artists who have seemingly done a great job at creating these pieces with very accurate details and features. The young person at reception was extremely friendly and explained us about the visit. It's definitely a unique place within Kutna Hora to visit. I assume there are more museums from the same company with various themes, and this one is focused more on aliens. Price-wise, i would expect price to be slightly lower, considering the size of museum but cannot complain overall about the quality of work.
Faisal M — Google review
Expected a bigger variety because it said "film legends" but it was a (very impressive) collection of mostly Aliens, some Predator and a few collectibles of other franchises. The setting was very well made tho, in the basement with dim lighting and music and sounds from the movies. There's a spot you can take props from the wall for photos. But because of the scary setting, the few pieces from avatar, E.T., ghost busters and Back to the future didn't really fit in amongst the others. Too scary for my 8 and 11 year old boys (who were the ones who wanted to go in).
Sofie G — Google review
This museum is perfect for science fiction and horror movies fans. The museum is very spooky, dark with different lights changing. What an amazing find! :D I did not plan to go to the museum, but once in the area, I went in and, as a fan, was not disappointed! It is very well put together and looked after. The figures are fantastic, the quality and accuracy of the designs surprised me. The staff seemed to be fans as well, they were friendly, informative and nice. I totally recommend this experience for fans of the genre, you won't regret it!
Paula C — Google review
I was genuinely surprised by how great my experience was. You can really feel the passion of the people who put this whole thing together. A must-see if you visit Kutna Hora and are into sci-fi movies.
Onimitsu — Google review
Very cool place if you are a fan of Alien or Predator, there are a lot of high quality models and some info regarding the movies. There is also a small exhibition of other classic thriller/horror movies. If you are a fan you should go here, it also only takes around 30 minutes to go through it all
Anton G — Google review
Quite the odd find! Highly worth a visit! Numerous high quality models from Alien, Predator, A vs P and several other movies. Lots of replicas from Sideshow Collectables. The idea of displaying everything in the old medieval cellar is spot on! Cool ambient lights and sound. Pay cash or card at the entrance/ gift shop.

The Stone House, also known as Kamenny dum, is a striking representation of Late Gothic architecture that once belonged to the burgher Prokop Kroupa in the 15th century. Today, it stands as one of the buildings under the Czech Museum of Silver. This richly adorned house stands out among its neighboring structures and serves as an exceptional example of Late Gothic design.
Little museum that offers a glimpse into the long history of this peculiar house. As a bonus, we did the mini KCD II escape game, which was a lot of fun. Highly recommended.

Horrible experience, listed as a silver museum but nothing remotely related to silver. Also when going up the first floor we were followed by a “guide” who was watching our every step which made us feel like they thought we were criminals. In 10 minutes you can see the entire exposition…
Quinten Q — Google review
This was a lovely surprise. The stone house looks interesting enough from the outside and encouraged our interest. There were several displays of stone, glass and historical artefacts within the entrance hall. The literature issued was informative and interesting as we followed the tour around the house. LOOK out for the painting in the main hall upstairs....photo is underneath of a famous visiting king!

Honestly, I felt it wasn't worth my time, for the visit which had to be guided but where the guide didn't speak English (ok, fair) and basically followed me (I was there only person) through the few rooms while I read and English pamphlet. Why did I even have to wait for a tour? The displays were meh... The main silver museum 5mn away was much more interesting.

Amazing and phenomenal. We ordered the duck breast, pastas, the prosciutto pizza, and the pork tenderloin. Everything tasted home made and are well flavored. Very happy, exceptional for the price, and would 10/10 recommend :)

My personal and very surprising highlight in Kutná Hora... freshly made spaghetti carbonara and a chicken burger, which couldn't have been much better. Not to mention nerdy KCD beer — what more could you want? Everything was perfect, and the service was extremely friendly. A must-visit in Kutna Hora! Sry didn't take pictures...

After visiting the Sedlec ossuary church, it was the perfect place to have lunch in. Easily accessible and very cosy. We ordered the Mozarella Pomodoro pasta, the Carbonara, the chicken burger and the no.4 burger and they were all incredible portions for the price. The food was flavorfull, with a great texture served by the incredibly friendly and smily staff. It is a wonderful spot and an excellent place to stop at for a great lunch.

We both sat in and ordered from this place. All 3 nights we were in Kutna Hora we ate here as we enjoyed the food so much. We had pasta one night that was to die for and we also had pork tenderloin twice. The meat was cooked to perfection and the sauce was paired with it perfectly.

Very nice burger No 2, really liked the onion, the sauce and especially the medium cooked beef as I ordered. The French fries on the side were excellent and the dip fit them very good. Staff was welcoming and nice

MUJ FALAFEL Bistro is a charming falafel place located in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic. Despite initial low expectations, visitors were pleasantly surprised by the fresh and tasty ingredients and attention to detail in every dish. The small bistro offers unique kofta, chicken, and falafel sandwiches that are all prepared with love. The owner and staff are described as super lovely and helpful.
Small and cozy restaurant with kind service. Falafel wrap and raspberry lemonade were really delicious. Highly recommended! A small feedback: I think, it would be better if there was an option for half portion hummus.

This is the cutest little gem in Kutna Hora! I had the falafel wrap, baklava, and hot chocolate. The service was great, and the little girl helped me checkout! I would definitely come here again! Wonderful restaurant in the center of Kutna Hora. I'm a vegetarian and my wife isn't, and there were delicious options for both. We were served very attentively and politely. And we tried a Lebanese sweet that was the perfect end to the meal. I would definitely recommend it to family and friends visiting the city.

Bar & grill
The bar and grill in Kutna Hora is a delightful establishment that offers a pleasant atmosphere for visitors from Germany and locals alike. It provides an opportunity to socialize with Czech people, making it an ideal place to experience the local culture. While the prices of their extensive range of rum may be slightly elevated, the venue remains welcoming and amiable. With excellent beer, delectable food options, and an attractive interior design, this establishment guarantees a satisfying experience for all patrons.
One of the few places to go to in Kutna Hora if you're interested in night-life. Weekends are the time you want to explore Kutna Hora at night and Guinness is one place where, everyone who's out will, eventually, stop by. The staff is awesome, restless, always nice and smiling, extraordinary customer experience. The place is a bit tight, split in three section (garden area - which holds the grill - fitting ~25 ppl, main bar area - is a narrow corridor ending with an open booth-like part that connects with the garden - fitting sometimes up to 40-45, making the place look like ridiculously packed and the 3rd section being one level below which is almost a club-like area with an around 20 customers). The clientele averages around mid-twenties, starting (almost always) with the majority being ladies, early in the evening and ending with majority guys, early in the morning. Wide-range beverages, including some basic cocktails, draft cider and special group drinks. Has a jukebox and always serves SOME (microwave) food. Smoking is allowed in the garden area and vaping is welcomed everywhere.

Warm, happy crowd with an old school Cheers vibe until you deal with the cranky barmaid who likes to overcharge non-Czechs. Ordered an Campari Spritz, see pic of advertised card she handed me with price of 110czk. See bill with charge of 125czk. Charged 15czk over advertised price. I chose to be a better person and still tip her 46czk even after catching the price inflation. Btw, booze only served, or so she said, no food/bar snacks. Visitor beware! Reply back**Prosim. That was the price sheet handed to me. The bartender did not say there was an increase in price, again, she was somewhat rude. Maybe having a bad night. I don't know. You are presumptuous yourself to assume I don't speak or understand Czech and that I haven't been to.CZ ever before. You're again wrong on that point. Update your price sheets. Update what you do and don't serve. Take criticism with grace. Devkuji

Kozlovna Barborský dvůr is a popular spot with a friendly staff and quick service, even during busy times. The food receives high praise, particularly the salmon tart with avocado, Caprese burger, and tagliatelle with salmon. Additionally, the Turkish coffee is recommended for its delicious flavor. Visitors also appreciate the reasonable prices for both food and drinks. The atmosphere is described as lovely, making it a great option for lunch or dinner.
A week ago, our whole family of four visited Kutná Hora. We enjoyed it very much. We were treated poorly by the staff at a neighbouring restaurant. But thanks to that, we found and visited this restaurant here, "Kozlovna Barborský dvůr," where we had a delicious lunch and received quick and pleasant service from the waitresses. The coffee and dessert were delicious. We are delighted and highly recommend this restaurant. By the way, I'll mention that our lunch bill was very reasonable. It was tasty, pleasant, and attractively priced. Thank you. If we ever revisit Kutná Hora, we will revisit this restaurant.
Paweł K — Google review
The establishment is quite pleasant, and the service and food are both of high quality, with more than generous portions. The only suggestion for improvement would be the installation of air conditioning during the summer months, as the open windows to alleviate the heat did attract some flies near the food and drinks, though this is an understandable consequence of the circumstances. Nevertheless, air conditioning may help mitigate this issue.

This is a special day, because it was black out in a lot of the cities in Czech, it also affect this small town. Without electricity, some shops cannot provide food, and all of them cannot accept credit card payment! What a special day! But I manage to get some good food in this restaurant, although there is only Cezch menu. But it doesn’t matter, I just look at what other people are eating. And I found that I m eating some beef with some kind of pancake. It is delicious. The beef is tender and the gravy is delicious. Highly recommended. The manager calmly accepted my Euro for the payment 👍👍

We were there with our family today. We're giving it a well-deserved one star. We'll caption this review with the waitress's words: "That's not my problem." Our waitress didn't speak English, and as luck would have it, we had to ask for gluten- and lactose-free food. Ultimately, we were given one of the dishes we hadn't ordered because the waitress didn't understand us. How did the restaurant handle this? "That's not my problem." I didn't bother asking for the tea I ordered. We know we're not the easiest customers, but the service was embarrassingly poor. The very positive reviews from others are somewhat surprising. Our dishes were truly substandard. We don't recommend it; it was a disappointing experience.
Mariusz S — Google review
Unfriendly is an mild expression. Waited 10 minutes to be noticed, asked about a specific food we saw was available a few days ago (based on the photos on google maps), we recieved a strange grimace, no further explanation or other suggestion. Menu is only in czech, seems they dont want foreigners to eat there. We left and had a great meal a corner away.
Eszter S — Google review
We came here for lunch — and it turned out to be one of the most unpleasant dining experiences ever. The waiters were rude and arrogant, showing outright racist behavior, as if they were doing us a favor just by coming to the table. It felt like they immediately assumed we were from Russia (but we are not 🤦‍♂️) and therefore thought it was acceptable to be disrespectful and condescending. Instead of proper service, we got humiliation. The food itself was actually very tasty, but what’s the point if the whole lunch was ruined by such a disgusting atmosphere? I would not recommend this place to anyone who doesn’t want their mood spoiled.
Alex P — Google review
The waiter was very rude, and even if we speak perfect English he told us "No English, Czech only" in a very impolite manner. I would avoid this place since they are straight up against foreigners.

Located in a picturesque forest, the Sion castle ruins offer a captivating glimpse into medieval times. A serene brook valley below provides an ideal setting for leisurely walks or biking adventures. Additionally, the presence of rocks and a meadow by the brook makes it an excellent spot for wild camping. The castle's well-preserved remains, including war carriages and a statue of Jan Rohac of Dube, make it a compelling historical site.
Awesooome. A statue of Jan Roháč of Dubé, the last hussite hetman, the ruins of the castle look pretty well-preserved, and there are even few war carriages !! :-)

to be honest, the ruin of the castle is just a ruin, the access is quite okay, there are signs, you have to cross a dirt road for a while, it looks as if some fun was taking place probably in the summer, which adds to the charm of this place, don't go there on purpose because you will be disappointed, come there by the way

Nice museum of printing press, they have lots of old machines to look at. The audio guide is a bit odd as it's played loudly over an old radio. In the charming town of Kutna Hora, visitors can explore the Church of Saint James, a medieval church dating back to 1333. Although the interior is usually closed to visitors, the baroque paintings on its walls are worth trying to catch a glimpse of. The church's exterior offers impressive views and complements the picturesque panorama of the town.
Great church! Expect, there was a random guy named Henry there who kept asking me if I had seen his buddy Hans. After that, he bought us a couple of rounds at the local tavern. Overall great experience though!

I attended Mass there to fulfill my Sunday obligation, even as a tourist. I did not understand a single word, but the liturgy was solemn, majestic, and filled with love. The church itself is a symphony of aesthetics — a true feast for the eyes, a place that can rightfully be called the House of God. Ancient, venerable, and breathtakingly beautiful. A dream of a church in the very heartland of Bohemia.

T S — Google review
The beautiful Gothic Church of St. James, with its slender 86 m tall tower, is a defining landmark on the Kutná Hora skyline. It is the oldest church in the town. Its construction began in 1330 and ended in 1420. The church original plans icluded two towers but it turned out that the ground beneath was too unstable due to silver mining to hold two towers. The unfinished part of the second tower is visible on the church exterior. For the unusual height of its tower, the church was also referred to as the Tall or High Church until the 17th century. The interior combines Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque architecture.

In the heart of Kutna Hora, near the Italian Court, stands the Three Kings House. This building is adorned with a striking fresco depicting three Bohemian kings: Wenceslaus II, Vladislaus II, and Wenceslaus IV. The facade has become a popular spot for photos due to its unique artwork. While not the most prominent attraction in the area, it certainly stands out on an otherwise ordinary street.
This is not an ancient painting. But who cares when it’s so beautiful ?

The house on Havlíčkovo náměstí square was built only in 1903. The restoration was undertaken in 2013 by the academic painter and restorer Pavel Novák, the National Heritage Institute and the Czech Silver Museum. The reconstruction was based on period photographs. According to some details, it is likely that Mikoláš Aleš himself was their author. This monument stands in tribute to Karel Havlíček Borovský, a 19th century Czech writer, journalist, politician and publisher. He is considered a Czech patriot, contemporous withf František Palacký in the Czech National Revival movement. This monument features a bronze sculpture of Karel Havlíček Borovský depicted in a pose similar to many other Czech monuments honouring him. He is wearing traditional Czech clothing underneath a full cloak. He is look upwards to the right and his right hand is raised point in the same direction. The sculptor has made an effort to sculpt the details of his jacket to clearly indicate that he is wearing Czech attire and there are many folds in the cloak he is holding up with his left hand. The sculpture stands atop a plinth, set in a small flower bed. It's also located across the street from the Italian Court, which is another attraction in Kutna Hora. The sculpture is not a must see, but is worth a look if in the area.

(Translated by Google) Kutná Hora, Havlíčkovo náměstí. This unmissable statue is just a few steps from the ancient Wallachian Court. It commemorates Karel Havlíček's stay in this city in the summer of 1851. That's right, it was five years before his death. I already wrote in the previous review that this writer, poet, politician and elegant man stayed in this world for 12,690 days. Mostly hard days. There are many monuments to him throughout the republic, but also in the American Chicago. But what caught my eye is that on four of them he is depicted in the same dramatic gesture with his right hand pointing ... Where do you think, fill it up.

In Kutna Hora, visitors can explore the Gothic Cathedral of St. Barbara, the Baroque Jesuit College adorned with statues reminiscent of Prague's Charles Bridge, and the Silver Museum featuring a 280-meter mining tunnel. The area also includes historic sites like Vlassky dvur, Gothic churches, and Sedlec with its unique ossuary chapel decorated with 40,000 human remains.
The location of this college is perfectly positioned on the top of the mountain right next to the basilica. With food and drinks stand on the basilica side and walking distance to the small township on towards left. Gorgeous architecture, fair price on the tickets . We did lots of walking with up and down hills. By the end of visiting this area, we were exhausted from all the walking and all we want was some good chilled wine and delicious food. Which we had no problem to find in the town. Highly recommend by @winedinenvacay

This place is now a museum of modern Czech art. I'm not much of a museum buff but this one was a lot of fun. If the weather in Kutna Hora isn't cooperative this is a great place to explore, for that matter in any case.

Nice place but a bit pricy for what it offers. Also their permanent collection is somewhat strangely organized - by feelings - I've never seen that before. But overall ok...

Hrádek, also known as the Czech Museum of Silver, is a popular tourist attraction in Kutna Hora. It offers a captivating glimpse into the town's history as a silver-mining hub. Visitors can explore the original medieval mine's underground tunnels, view exhibits on the mining history, and gain insights into the miners' daily lives. The 15th-century castle now houses this museum and provides tours of one of the town's mine shafts.
In before all the "Jesus Christ Be praised" KCD 2 memes. Beautiful place, a landmark castle of the medieval period Bohemia.

(Translated by Google) We were only able to do the first tour because there was only one English tour in the afternoon, and we weren't allowed to do the Czech one. The first tour was very mediocre, even though it cost almost nothing. The temporary exhibition isn't translated into English. There were very few seats to sit and read the information. Also, a woman at the museum spoke very rudely. The second tour was probably better. (Original) Nous avons pu faire que le premier tour car qu’un seul tour en anglais l’après midi et nous n’étions pas accepté pour faire celui en tchèque. (Translated by Google) We only completed the second circuit, i.e. a visit to the mine and the mint. Tickets must be booked in advance. I visited the mine about 20 years ago, there have been a number of changes here (new staircase to enter the mine) as well as changes created by nature itself, e.g. walls overgrown with plants. The circuit ends with a visit to the Mint, which is a kind of competitor to the Mint in Vlašský dvůr. This will provide you with more information and experiences. I was surprised that visitors can store personal belongings in a locker, but about 20 people in the same locker, which does not seem to me to be sufficient protection against possible theft. I was negatively impressed by the fact that at the end of the tour, visitors hang their sweaty coats on hangers and other guests use them. I consider this (especially in the current tropical temperatures) to be unhygienic. Nevertheless, I recommend entering the mine. (Original) Absolvovali jsme pouze II.okruh tj. návštěva dolu a mincovny. Přesto vstup do dolu doporučuji.

Restaurant
Čtyři sestry - zahradní restaurace is a charming eatery run by a father and his four daughters, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant features both vegan and non-vegan options at reasonable prices. Guests can enjoy the extensive variety of homemade lemonades while sitting outside in the spacious garden area, which also includes a sandbox for children to play in. Additionally, the restaurant is dog-friendly and accepts card payments.
My boyfriend and I had dinner at "Čtyři sestry" and we loved everything about it. We both eat plant-based, so we were very happy to find a delicious vegan option (in the picture). It was sweet potato with a tofu cream, tempeh, cashews, arugula and balsamic vinegar. We wanted to try the vegan brownie, but it was sold out. The place looked elegant and the waitresses were kind. Hopefully, they will add more vegan options to the menu to choose from, but the one we had was absolutely perfect!

The restaurant is beautiful with and outer garden and amazing and chill music. The food is absolutely delicious, so much I had to compliment the chest. The staff was wonderful too! I can't muster up a single complaint about this site, the pork loin was utterly delicious 🔥 and the potato bed was perfect. I also recommend the craft beer and the rhubarb soft drink!

Stopped here for lunch and it was the best meal I had during four days in the Czech Republic. The space is beautiful and bright with lots of plants. I had the tilapia with root vegetables - the fish was perfectly cooked and so flavourful. My brother was equally impressed with the baked pasta. And we couldn’t believe how low the prices were for the quality of food. If we had stayed longer in Kutná Hora we definitely would have dined here again.

Amazing mains and surprisingly really cheap wine. We tried 5 different main options with different meats and was blown away by the variety in flavour and how well prepared the food was. Felt more like a 4 or 5 star location with local prices. I would think twice about the non-alcoholic drinks but that’s fairly a usually thing for places in Czechia. So if you enjoy other places you would here but if you’re spoilt by international standards then we would advise to go for their local wines. Very considerate service. As most of us only spoke English and we were in a rural part of Czechia we didn’t exactly such a great service, but they went above and beyond.

We came in after 20 o’clock and grabbed a sweet place in garden with great view. Unfortunately, the personal ignored us and let us waiting for almost half an hour. Then we were informed (by a chef?) that the warm kitchen had already closed. She could have told us that before(!) she let us choose the main dishes. Even though the pictures looked really nice online, we won’t come again, sadly.

Italian restaurant
Piazza Navona in Kutna Hora offers an authentic Italian dining experience that has gained popularity among both locals and tourists. Despite being located in a small Czech town, the restaurant serves up delicious Italian cuisine that rivals meals found in Italy itself. Visitors can expect a variety of dishes, including well-prepared rigatoni alla norcina and mouthwatering pizzas. The restaurant's friendly and efficient staff further enhance the overall dining experience.
Nice indoor very bright and outdoor big more subdued lighting seating. Bathrooms nice. Service great in English too. Vegetarian pizzas are wood oven, little light on flavor and salt, very Italian like, but the prices are incredible. Various spicier toppings like chili flakes and oil available.

Me and my friend decided to have lunch at this restaurant, the view was beautiful and there was option to eat inside also. I was quite impressed how neat and cozy it felt inside when we went to pay. I ordered a carbonara pasta and my friend had lasagna. For drinks we got lemon water, the lemon water we could tell they didn’t put much effort in, they just threw in lemon slices to water. Maybe I’m being a bit skeptic about it, but it’s my opinion ! Now the food, my portion was quite big, but the pasta tasted old and stale ( like if you let dry pasta open for a long time) the sauce had nice color but the taste did not blow away, honestly I had better. The lasagna was okay. I would recommend pasta with tomato base sauces.

We were pleasantly surprised by this place! We were visiting Kutna Hora for the day, and wanted to branch out from Czech cuisine. Pasta sounded like the perfect lunch for us and we were not disappointed. The pasta we had was delicious and slightly al dente. The staff were friendly and it was definitely affordable. It also was a good opportunity to try Kutna Hora beer.

It was a delicious restaurant. The moment I entered the restaurant, I saw the Italian soccer team, Intel Milan, decorated with their goods. As a soccer fan, this was a exciting point for me. The price was reasonable considering that it is a tourist attraction. Also the pizza was very large.

We seated for untidy table, but no problem. Firstly the waitress told us ( not kindly - please, could you move.....) told us to sit on a table for 2, which i understand, but it would be a whole lot different if she would just politly ask. Then we ordered drinks and food. Then i kindly asked for a glass of tap water to have with my already ordered drink, and she refused to do that for me. Said that she can only sell me botteled water and that they dont do that here. I really think she would be able to do that, as they have drinkable water here. So i would not come here again, just beacuse of the rude attitude. Pizza was solid good for the money. Ketchup or anything to have with the pizza is to pay, which is loss, again. We managed to get grinder chilly and salt, which is way to salty, if u want a hot kick. So, there is a lot of room to get better, but overall good pizza for the money.

I am Italian and I decided to came here for lunch as from the outside this place looked like it really was an authentic Italian restaurant and I was satisfied with my decision. I had rigatoni alla norcina and Segafredo coffee. The rigatoni were cooked the right way and very tasty and the coffee was good as well. The service was quick and the staff polite and efficient. Overall I enjoyed my lunch and even though this is a small Czech town the meal quality was very close (if not the same) to the Italian one. The only downside here is the restaurant itself. The place is in the city centre but the restaurant is small and there is little room between each table. That’s a pity but coming here is definitely worth it and I definitely recommend the place to any tourist who wants to try the Italian cuisine. If I happen to visit Kutná Hora in the future, I will probably come back.

Pizzeria Vita is a charming spot offering delicious pizzas at great prices. While they only accept cash, the quality of their pizzas makes it worth it. The variety of pizzas available is impressive, and the owner's hospitality adds to the experience. It's a hidden gem tucked away in a side street, but well worth seeking out for its fresh and fast service. Customers also appreciate the option to customize their pizza orders.
Had a craving for pizza and this one was the best rated in town. They have an English menu. You can buy a whole pizza or get some slices which is nice if you want a little snack. You can sit inside to eat but it is a small place

Delicious, it is thin but well worth the price! One pizza is enough to feed 1 person, 2 people if you are not too hungry, if you will want to take away you will have to pay 15Kc for a box. I recommend eating here, it is not crowdy or noisy and cars don't pass through at all.

Restaurace Dačický is a renowned dining spot in Kutna Hora, just a short stroll from St. Barbara's Cathedral. The restaurant is named after Mikulas Dacicky, a historical figure known for his love of wine, beer, and food. It offers an extensive menu featuring Czech, Central, and Eastern European dishes with a touch of European influence.
What an awesome restaurant, and this was the best meal in Czechia. Everything was cooked to perfection and everything was so delicious!!! Too bad i came to this town for a day. Otherwise, I’d come here every day!! We tried venison, mushroom soup, chicken schnitzel, and mushroom raugaut. Delicious!! It also looks like a castle. Can't wait to come back.

The restaurant has a good atmosphere, it’s very nice decorated. The waiters and waitresses are nice, the food takes a bit but it was full, so it’s okay. Both of us had a burger and the burgers were okay but not outstandingly good or so. Average burgers but a big portion size. If you’re hungry… it definitely is enough.

We came in without having a reservation and as it was early (a bit before noon) they were so kind to have us. The team is really nice and friendly, they gave us really good recommendations for the food and it was amazing. The portions are huge, we had only one dish each with a drink and sadly no more space for an apple strudel (which seemed delicious). We also have loved the old inn, medieval vibes, as "the Prancing Pony" in LOTR. We almost expected to meet Hobbits or maybe a Witcher resting in a corner. It was a great experience and the food was so warm and comforting while it was raining a lot outside. We highly recommend this place. Oh and it was a great price too, less than 30€ for both of us. Thank you Team!

Absolutely amazing, authentic Czech food. The plum sauce with deer meat is absolutely amazing. The dumplings with goulash are also the best I have ever tried! Will definitely return!
Phone S — Google review
Went to this restaurant due to the good reviews on Google and trust pilot. The decorations inside the restaurant gave it a medieval vibe which was lovely. The restaurant was completely empty inside, besides from us and only 2/3 couples/groups sat outside. We did visit in early September which is off season for the area. We were served by a waitress who wasn't very welcoming, but we didn't mind this as long as the food was good. We ordered the goulash and the strudel. The goulash was very tasty and a very large portion size, I could not finish it. Whilst eating our mains, I noticed one of the other waitresses blowing her nose frequently and never washing her hands. This made me feel uneasy, but as it wasn't our waitress I wasn't overly concerned. The strudel came on a piping hot plate and looked like it had been microwaved (had dried out in certain areas), which was disappointing. The strudel tasted okay but the texture wasn't great. I finished mine, but my partner could not finish his. For drinks, my partner ordered the Kutna Hora beer on tap, which he liked. I ordered a raspberry lemonade and the alchohol free fruit beer. The fruit beer was lovely, but the raspberry lemonade didn't taste of anything. Overall the meal was tasty and had very large servings and most of the drinks were great. However, the next morning, myself and my partner had upset stomachs (pain and diarrhea). This meal was the only food we'd eaten that was the same, so it was likely due to this meal, but we obviously can't be 100% sure. My partner felt better after a day, but I am still suffering with stomach pains, nausea and diarrhea nearly a week after this meal. It was a bad end to our trip as this was the last meal of our holiday, and likely made us unwell on the day of flying home. If I could go back in time, I would have chosen to eat somewhere else.

I've been a couple of times over a couple years, and was delighted each time. The ginger dumplings, the boar, the dill beef, all great. Delicious beer, and non-alcoholic fruit beer. All in a great atmosphere inside and out, with medieval history and some love music sometimes.
