Rocamadour in 2 days

If you only have 2 days to spend in Rocamadour, we’ve narrowed down the top places you should check out to get the best experience of your time here.
Rocamadour is a dramatic cliffside village in southwest France, famed for its medieval sanctuaries stacked above a canyon of the Alzou River. Pilgrims and visitors climb the Grand Escalier to reach the revered Notre-Dame chapel and its Black Madonna statue, which have drawn worshippers for centuries. The village’s stone houses, narrow lanes, and fortified gates create a striking backdrop, while nearby attractions like the Gouffre de Padirac and Dordogne Valley make it a strong base for exploring the region.
With favorites like La Table du Curé, Moulin à Eau de Cougnaguet, and Resto bistrot l’Estanquet, we’ll make sure you don’t miss out on all the must sees. We even included some of our favorite food spots around the area, like Logis Hôtel le Terminus des Pèlerins and Resto bistrot l’Estanquet so you can get the best taste of Rocamadour while you’re here. To see our full list of food recommendations, check out our best restaurants post. If you're traveling on a budget, you can check out our cheap eats post.

Monkey Forest is a popular destination in the Lot department, attracting numerous visitors. It's home to around 150 Barbary macaques living freely in a forest setting. The site offers an opportunity to observe these endangered monkeys up close and learn about their social behavior and evolution through informative panels, video documentaries, and knowledgeable volunteers. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along a 1.3 km path for approximately 1.5 hours to watch the monkeys roam freely in conditions resembling their natural habitat.
Not sure what everyone else was talking about regarding steepness and roughness of terrain, maybe they've adjusted the paths since then? All signage in French and English, talks in English upon request, all the staff spoke both French and English. We drove an hour and it was worth every moment! Took about an hour to walk through the park, never knew when you'd come across a monkey around the bend. Thoroughly enjoyable and informative. Highly recommend.
Jill J — Google review
Well presented park with very happy and healthy looking primates. Easy walking path, a nice little shop and small restaurant at the end, with a play area for the kids. Highly recommended.
Kevin B — Google review
Amazing experience! All the staff I spoke to spoke good English and were very friendly. The route was very informative, with signs displaying the monkey’s social structure, diet, and ecosystem. The monkeys, of North African origin have plenty of space, and you can really get up close to them as they roam freely across the paths. The information office also has useful leaflets for other attractions in the area. The fairly well priced entry allows you to stay for as long as you like, however a family group price would have been nice.

Really fun for kids and a beautiful park. The food offered is high quality. Love to see the improvements they have made over the years!

Lovely place, knowledgeable staff. Monkeys free roaming, mid way round are some breathtaking views of the Dordogne. Definitely worth a visit, I will definitely return when I'm back down that part of the world 🌎
Rachel H — Google review
Very interesting and easy to get up close to the monkeys. The staff are very friendly and very knowledgeable. Great place to visit as adults or children!
Dewald B — Google review
This place is amazing! the monkey's roam free all around you in the park. Loved the talk also.
Theresa B — Google review
The Monkey Forest is very cool and has beautiful views of Rocamadour, but we had a frustrating experience that I think could be helpful for others to know about when planning a trip there. On the weekend the park is open is the mornings from 10-12. We arrived with our 2.5 year old at 11 and after walking in we were told we needed to hurry to make it through the 1km path before 12. We were not worried, everyone was walking just fine. By 11:30 the park employees started following us down the path telling us to hurry up. Clearly more concerned about missing a minute of lunch than visitors having a nice experience. At that point we were only 10 minute walk from our car and we told them we were not worried about making it out by 12. But they insisted that we were being very slow and they kept pestering us and making our time less than fun and rushing along our toddler when he was just starting to really enjoy watching the monkeys. I wanted a refund after this experience but the office was closed by 11:45 when we make it back to the parking lot with 15 minutes to spare. I really wish they had told us that they expect you to run as fast as you can through the park and that you will be harassed if your not out by 11:30 (eventhough they close for lunch 12-1 officially). Instead of sympathy when we expressed exasperation for the 3 employee flanking and berating) we received sarcasm and criticism. Not a very nice was to treat your guests monkey forest, I hope you will try to do better in the future and that others are aware that they should arrive at 10 for the morning walk if you don’t want to get this kind of treatment.

La Table du Curé is a classic bistro located in the heart of Rocamadour, offering a warm welcome and great hospitality. The restaurant is known for its friendly and helpful staff who provide excellent food and wine suggestions. With a terrace overlooking the Alzou valley, guests can savor regional specialties while enjoying remarkable views of the churches. The ambiance is inviting, making it popular among locals and visitors alike.
We booked a table and asked to be seated outside - great table with a fabulous view of the valley. Very attentive, but not intrusive service, from our waiter who made some recommendations to us that all turned out to be excellent choices. Delicious food, great quality ingredients and beautifully cooked (steak especially done to perfection). Excellent value for money and all served with a smile. We'd highly recommend to anyone looking for good food, friendly and efficient service and a perfect location.

Great place for lunch in Rocamadour! We had the persillade d’escargots and the foie gras for starter! Both amazing. Then had the cassoulet and the confit the canard. Outstanding as well. Then finished with the Fromage le Rocamadour fermier and just one dessert as we we’re completely full. Definitely recommend if in Rocamadour! Well done to all the staff

Food and Service was great. Many flies about in the restaurant, which might disrupt one's dining experience, you can also buy your cigarettes here. I absolutely loved the food for the price I paid, and thank you for the service 🙏
Cynthia A — Google review
I am very disappointed of this place. We just sat down to chose from the menu and just a few minutes later the owner starts complaining that we were taking too much time to order. He expulsed us and started yelling at us. There is no air conditioning in the restaurant and everything is old fashioned. I was with my pregnant sister who was also aggressively insulted and left completely stressed out. The owner heard me talking Hebrew which is why he acted this way
דוד ט — Google review
We had the duck in goats cheese sauce and the sea bream with tagliatelle, both of which were delicious. Very friendly service and a nice setting overlooking the valley. Highly recommended location for relaxing during a trip to Rocamadour.
Andrew B — Google review
In the heart of Roccamadour you will find this restaurant with some traditional food options. The food is okay given the location. The staff is extremely efficient. Right after we and some tables next to us ordered we had our drinks and even the starters were brought quickly. I believe there is better quality food available elsewhere but given the location in a very popular tourist destination it's well worth eating here.
T P — Google review
Great restaurant with nice view (if you're sitting at the table outside), service was great and food was excellent (the cassoulet and the grilled cod were amazing!) It's also kids-friendly and offers kids menu. This was my second visit, so need I say more :)

Basilica
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
Basilique Saint Sauveur, constructed between the 11th and 13th centuries, is a significant religious site in Rocamadour. The church, built in a Romanesque-Gothic style directly into the cliffs, houses the relics of Saint Amadour in its crypt. Despite falling into disrepair at one point, it has been restored to its former glory. Visitors can admire embellishments, paintings, inscriptions showcasing notable visitors like Philippe the Handsome.
I didn't get to the top, but it's worth the effort, I believe. This basilica is set in the sheer rock face of the steep-sided valley. The village of Rocamadour runs horizontally (almost) through the valley. Its dramatic setting is accessible only through a very narrow tunnel.

Historic Sites
Located in the commune of Rocamadour in the Lot, Grotte Préhistorique des Merveilles, also known as the Cave of Wonders, is a prehistoric cave close to the religious city famous for its chapel and basilica. Discovered in 1920 and made accessible to the public in 1921, this natural cave features ancient paintings dating back 20,000 years.
Visited today 23/09 with a little trepidation after reading some previous reviews on TripAdvisor! What a charming small attraction with a fascinating history. We were in a party of 18-20 divided into two groups, 6 English speakers & the rest French ( got to expect that in France!) We had our own guide, a very good English speaker who went into enthusiastically describing the various features & fauna of the cave. A small but perfectly formed attraction.
Tony B — Google review
The cave was very interesting! I really wanted to see the cave paintings. However, the tour we joined was in French. We can only understand a little bit of French so it was quite difficult to follow. A written guide was given to us so that we can at least have an overview of the discussion. Surprisingly, the cave was fairly small. This cave can be a quick stop if you want to have a short break and cool down during your trip. Unfortunately, photos are not allowed during the tour.
Michiko A — Google review
Dont go if you can't speak French! Tour guides speak perfectly good English but none during the actual tour. Caves were interesting but were small. Would have been fine if any part of it was in English
Jon S — Google review
We had a fantastic visit to this cave near Rocamadour. The guide (Pierre) offered us a special tour in English and had so much information about the prehistoric paintings and what it tells us about the people who painted them perhaps 30 or more thousand years ago. The geology is cool too. It’s not a long visit (45 minutes), but so worthwhile! You need to call to get a reservation.
Jessica S — Google review
We booked by phone on our way to Rocamadour and they slotted our party of 8 in straight away. The tour was primarily in French, but Coco our guide did a lot for us in English and was happy to answer our questions. The cave isn't huge, but it is evidence of cro-magnon people having a sense of self 20 000 years ago, and leaving their mark for us to see. Would definitely recommend.
J G — Google review
This is a great cave but the tour is quite controlled. There is what can only be described as 25 min lecture before you can even enter the cave, not ideal on a searing hot day. Then the 2 guides divide the group in 2 and talk non-stop for a further 40-45 mins. It is only in French. Which is fine as you are in France, but they don’t like it if you break off to try and enjoy/experience the cave alone, even though, as the cave is not that big, you are within eyesight at all times by the guides. There is no moment to experience the cave without the guides talking. In addition the door is locked so you can not get out. This is a 20 min tour, advertised at 45 min but it takes 1.15min due to the lectures. Incredibly frustrating. If you don’t speak French, skip it.
Kathryn F — Google review
Not what we expected to be honest. A cave with some very dubious pictures on the walls and some stalagmites and stalactites. It was all in french too, they do English versions but not every day.

All together a lot of people visited the magic spot. But it was well organized. A very special experience!

Water mill

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Moulin à Eau de Cougnaguet is a charming water mill located in a picturesque setting with seven towers and beautiful architecture to admire. The road leading to the mill is long and windy, adding to its rustic charm. Visitors can take guided tours by the charming guide, Hubert, who explains the mill's operations in detail. The tour includes insights into flour production and offers a glimpse of the living quarters upstairs.
My son and I visited Le moulin fotifie de 14ieme siecle de Cougnaguet in August 2010. We loved it. It still grinds flour with enormous millstones. It has an enormous fireplace and is fortified against attack. The mill can also flood the surrounding land to prevent attack. Fascinating example of how necessary services operated and protected from attack in 1300s France.
Élise B — Google review
Great experience. You are guided in French by the Miller who explains every detail of the process and actually operates the mill. You can even bring some flour home. Unfortunately this experience may disappear soon as no one is ready to take over.
Paul V — Google review
This was a cool stop on our trip. It's 5 euro to enter and get a demonstration of how the mill works. The staff only spoke French, but were nice and still explained things to us. There was a sheet with some info in English which was helpful. We thought there was just the bottom part of the building to see but you can also see upstairs which contains a living space. It was a lovely day and this spot is unique and beautiful.
Marilyn S — Google review
A long and windy patchwork of a road leads to the mill. This is no no major tourist attraction - it is run by the couple and tours are guided by Hubert who is absolutely charming and more than willing to explain everything carefully in French. An English sheet gives an overview of how the water mill operated and flour produced. We were lucky enough to be offered prunus eau de vie and to see the living quarters upstairs. As others have said - such a charming guide and a fascinating insight into times gone by.
Rosie L — Google review
This beautiful old fortified mill is still in operation and is, frankly, amazing. The equipment is incredibly old and looks like it should be in a museum, but it all actually still runs thanks to the dedicated owners. I have never seen anything like this place in my life--it is like stepping back in time technologically.
David W — Google review
Awesome bit of history and the hosts where perfectly delightful, making sure my wife and I got the full tour even though they spoke very little English and we speak very little French. Beautiful place!

Great little hotel in the heart of the most amazing medieval city, Rocamadour. The top floor rooms are a little small but for 1 or 2 nights it's no problem. The views over the Alzou Canyon are spectacular. Look out for the hot air balloon in the morning. Breakfast was quaint with juice, yoghurt, croissants and bread.

Amazing views from the terrace, the rooms are on the small side but if you’re only staying for a night or two it doesn’t really matter…

Definitely yummy, but with room for improvement as far as depth of the dishes go. Everything was delicious and well seasoned, but further variety within each dish would push it over the top and to a 5-star.

Restaurant
Resto bistrot l’Estanquet is a funky and informal restaurant in Rocamadour, offering creative dishes and afternoon ice cream. The place is known for accommodating allergies and intolerances to gluten and dairy products. The friendly staff provides excellent service, making it a must-visit spot. One of the highlights is the 1-kilogram boneless ribeye steak, perfectly cooked to meet high standards.
We ate dinner here after touring the town of Rocamadour. It was pretty crowded at 7:30 and we had a reservation so we're seated right away at a high top table near the sidewalk. Plat du jour was well prepared and we enjoyed every dish. The server was friendly, but seemed to be stretched due to serving too many tables. It didn't affect us as we were not in a hurry. Nice outdoor seating area with a modern vibe.
Douglas H — Google review
We picked this bistro due to location and the high reviews. It is hard for me to write a seemingly bad review, but I will make the best of it. I ordered the veal with risotto and mushroom sauce. I received a pork loin chop with some sort of legumes and roasted potato and carrot. I questioned the server as to what it was and she stated the it was pork, then another server stepped in and claimed it to be veal. The second server ask if I didn’t like it, and I stated it was not what I order, the veal. He insured me it was. I wasn’t born yesterday and know the difference between veal with risotto and mushroom sauce vs pork with legumes. I will add photos of the item. Other than this, service was good. (except for getting the order wrong, and then not taking responsibility for the problem). They still charged me for the item and I received no apology and no attempt was made to correct this. It saddens me as I would do everything I could to make it right. The young person was honest until pressured by the older person, I feel sorry for her as she wanted to do the right thing but her piers told her not to. I will not go to this restaurant again, they think they can get away with downgrading a meal, something I would never do. Although the staff was friendly, they have done the wrong thing.
Mike M — Google review
The restaurant is very well located and very easy to get to. We ordered Beef Entrecote and Duck Leg. For dessert we ordered Burnt Sugar Cream with Pistacio and a French Cheese Dessert. The Duck Leg and desserts were excellent, but the Beef Entrecote was an unpleasant experience from two points of view: 1) I ordered it to be done medium and I initially received it very, very raw. After I asked for it to be kept on the grill a little longer, it really came medium done. 2) It was very, very fatty, which made me leave almost half of it on the plate (practically impossible to eat that fat!). Another minus that I would like to underline is the fact that our table was cleared away a very long time after we finished eating the main courses, so the dessert came very late!
Stelian V — Google review
The best steak I've had in France so far. Before this, I had given up on steaks cooked by local chefs, regardless of homemade or Bib Gourmand. All the steaks were overcooked. The ones I could actually enjoy were prepared by Italian or American chefs. Luckily, the doneness and texture of the steak at this place finally meet the standard. 🥩1-kilogram boneless ribeye steak. The menu states it's for two people, but the normal portion for one person is ard 180-300g. The 1 kg serving is probably meant for big eaters. As it turned out, two normal eaters couldn't finish it all. This dish comes with salad and fries as sides, so it's just right for 3-4 people. The steak is cooked to perfection, seared on the outside, tender on the inside. It's presented in the form of ribeye, sizzling on a preheated iron plate as it's brought to your table. For carnivores, there's nothing more satisfying than the sound of sizzling beef on an iron plate. The steak is medium, with a beautiful pink center perfectly sealed by the caramelized outer layer. It's lightly salted, enhancing the meat's flavor. No need for sauce; the seasoning is just right. It's a testament to the quality of the beef. Every bite is a delight. The only downside is that there were flies flying around in the dining area, which affected the dining experience. I hope the restaurant can maintain better cleanliness.
LongEr — Google review
A pretty nice restaurant. Revisited this restaurant for the Canard confit. It's the best as far as I'm concerned. Tried their new dish called the pork cheek. Looks pretty normal but it taste superb. It's soft and flavorful. Not regretting the choice. But one thing to take note is to call and make a reservation before arrival. It's always full!

Lovely waiter but run off his feet there for forgot everything. Food passable but only just. Never got asked when eating how it was, not suprised as I expect the poor staff get a lot of negative reviews. Very basic, wouldn't rush back. Nothing for vegetarian at all. Menu very limited full stop. Nice pint of ratz but that's it. Shame as with more staff and organisation could do so much better.

Overall very happy with this place. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars on food is that neither myself or my boyfriend were given an option of how we wanted our food cooked. I had the steak and would have preferred it blue and it came well done and he had the burger and it came (very) blue when he would have preferred well done.

Looks a nice testaurant. Called in for a coffee and decided to sit outside. Sat at a table for four. Told to move to a table for two even though there must have been 15-20 empty tables by the waitress. Other couples were sat on four seater tables. 🤷🏻 We left and sat on a table for four and had a nice coffee opposite. Average score for food as didn’t stay long enough.
Craig J — Google review
Great place to stop for a pint of the local beer (Ratz), good service and nice outdoor seating.
MJ M — Google review
The galette was good and fairly priced. Service lowlight was forgetting out starter (and we did not taste their local cheese as a result of that), while the highlight was the flexibility in letting us keep our car parked on their own carpark while we visited the sanctuary.

I've done quite a bit of traveling in France, and this has, by far, been one of my fave places to stay. It's lovely, the people who run it are so kind and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, the grounds are beautiful . The breakfast was fresh and delicious. I highly recommend a stay here. We even decided to stay over an extra night! Who doesn't love a castle stay?!

A visit will won't forget. The family goes out of their way to make stay enjoyable and share treasures of this special place. Would highly recommend

Marvelous all around. Impeccable and tastefully furnished rooms.Incredible views. The most delicious breakfast. Kind and friendly hosts. This place is a dream home away from home.

What an amazing place. We were greeted by a fantastic host who showed us to our apartment. When we came back from working late our host was fantastic and looked after us with some fantastic food. Can’t recommend this place any higher! Just disappointed we couldn’t stay longer.
Steve H — Google review
We stayed at Les Vieilles Tours for one night when we visited Rocamadour and Gouffre de Padirac. We had a warm welcome from the owners of the hotel, which is a family run. The entire family was so helpful to us, especially that our car broke down and they came and collected us in the middle of the night after we visited Rocamadour. They also helped us find someone to fix it and they did all of this out of respect for their guests. At the checkout they didn't want to accept one cent extra for their time and fuel to rescue us. We are very grateful for what they did to us and made our stay more enjoyable despite our particular situation. The hotel is 10 min away by car from Cite Medieval, located on a large property on top of the hill with a spectacular view and a nice pool. Our rooms were quite big and we had plenty of space for 3 adults and a child. Breakfast was lovely, with plenty of choices nicely presented sourced from local producers and home made pancakes and crepes. One day we will definitely return to Les Vieilles Tours as there is so much to visit in the area.

Less than 5 minute drive to Rocamadour with nice views, quiet family /dog friendly location with great pool. The family staff offer great service.
Philippe G — Google review
The grounds are nice and views are lovely. Our room was more basic than anticipated, but adequate and quiet. The food at dinner and breakfast was mostly quite good.
Brian ( — Google review
This is a wonderful hotel and restaurant where everyone receives a warm welcome from the proprietor Laurent Tabeyi, always keen to make sure that everyone has a fantastic experience. The hotel, with an excellent restaurant and wine list, is a perfect place from which to explore the historic area of the Alzou gorge and is located very near the ancient pilgrim town of Rocamadour as well as dozens of other nearby picturesque villages. The hotel also makes a perfect base for walking and cycling holidays.

Day 2

Northeast side of town
For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Grottes de Lacave, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Rocher des Aigles. All together, your day would be filled with about 8 hours of non-stop fun.

Nestled just 10 kilometers from the enchanting town of Rocamadour, the Grottes de Lacave beckons adventurers and nature enthusiasts alike. This stunning limestone cave system, dating back to the Jurassic era, offers a captivating journey through 1.6 kilometers of underground wonders accessed via a charming electric train. As you traverse this remarkable network, you'll encounter ten distinct chambers filled with awe-inspiring stalactites and expansive lakes that create an otherworldly atmosphere.
Very good grottes to visit, be prepared to climb stairs though but very worth it
Michael M — Google review
Interesting caves and worth a visit but there are lots of stairs once inside. The train wasn't running when we arrived which meant a 400m walk up a gentle incline before we even started. Train was running on the way out - it is very cosy!
Brent H — Google review
Fantastic place ,we were the only ones there Fantastic light show to music, we saw plenty of bats ....
Mel O — Google review
Beautiful cave with underground lakes and lots of stairs. A small train takes you up hill after which you have to walk a good 400 steps on a stair to get you to the first room. It is worth the visit, though it is a very busy cave with long waiting lines.
Marije G — Google review
Interesting visit in a cave that is above the ground. First part of the journey is done via a small little train that brings at the main hall, after which two branches - one at left and one at right -brings in two well protected and well preserved abyss.
Andrea M — Google review
A fantastic family visit. I seriously can't fault this place. Well worth a visit if you are ever in the area of Rocamadour.
Martin P — Google review
Lovely cave! Big chambers with nice little lakes and beautiful formations. Lighting is very nicely done highlighting the different structures in the cave. The train is a very nice surprising start and end to the tour, you will feel your legs after cause there is a lot of stairs to climb and descent, but very doable.
Samir B — Google review
The UV display is impressive but other than a few pretty formations there's not huge amount to see. English tour is given as a pamphlet, but you're underground in the dark so you can't actually read it!

Step into the ancient world at Prehisto Dino Park, a forested wonderland filled with lifelike animatronic dinosaurs and informative displays tracing the evolution of these fascinating creatures. As you wander through the lush jungle, you'll encounter 150 life-size representations of dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals, each accompanied by an immersive soundtrack that transports you back in time. While the park doesn't feature any rides, it offers a captivating stroll through history for both kids and adults alike.
An absolute gem of an attraction. My four year old loved it. Staff very nice. Giftshop is great. The attention to detail is fab. An amazing drive there too. A very fun day out. Thank you! 🇬🇧
Charles B — Google review
The park is quite well decorated with dinosaurs, especially the big ones. The information about the dinosaurs is available in French and English only, but well, it's quite recognisable. My child enjoyed it alot. A few things to note, the park is constructed along a slope, the beginning is a descending trail. Certain areas can be a bit steep for baby strollers. The path is laid with some fine rocks which is nice, but is rather slippery. I do not recommend going with a stroller or for anyone with walking aids. There's no shelter nor toilets along the trail so if you're stuck out there in bad weather, it will be quite a challenge to hide. There is no indication of any shortcut to return to the entrance, the one unmarked shortcut I found along the way is too steep. Overall, it's a nice attraction but could improve the experience better for the visitors, especially for your visitors' safety.
Dylon ( — Google review
I just visited the cave and enjoyed it a lot. The impression of the dinosaur exhibition was that it is a lovely area and footpath for a walk (nice for adults) and dinosaur experience with a little bit of prehistoric information (nice for the kids).
Katja A — Google review
Nice park to visit with young kids. While walking downhill you can experience dinosaurs with some explanation of the species and how they got extinct. Halfway there is a cave which is also worth a visit (do note: one of the few caves without stairs, so it is also possible to visit with strollers!) Do avoid the souvenir shop at the end, because prices are simply ridiculous.
Frank V — Google review
Good entertainment for the whole family, the tour takes about an hour. The picknick area right next to the park is also worth a visit, good food and service but more importantly large trees that bring a lot of shade.
Roy — Google review
This park does not boast any ride, only life -size reconstruction of dinosaur (some seem to be well done, some not so much) and ice age, down to neolithic animals and human ancestors. But it was a hit for my kids who have been totally into dinosaurs the last 6 months. The park offers a nice stroll in a forested area. It also boasts a cave called Cave Charbonnieres, which requires a separate entrance ticket, but worth the visit too. I did not see any kiosks selling beverages in the park, so you might need to come with your own drinks. The park is baby stroller friendly.
Angeline T — Google review
Great for children aged 3 and up. Caves were wonderful and a lovely walk with lots of dinosaurs.
Grainne M — Google review
Took grandchildren, they really enjoyed walking round see all the various life like 🦖. Reasonable prices, my only issues took long time to get into the park, so slow dealing with customers. Laid out very well.

Rocher des Aigles is a bird park located on a rocky promontory, boasting over 400 birds of prey, owls, and parrots. Visitors can witness captivating falconry displays showcasing the aerial acrobatics of majestic creatures like eagles, falcons, and vultures set against the stunning backdrop of Rocamadour's cliffs.
Amazing experience. Our kid loved it. Definitly recommend it
Bruno M — Google review
It's a nice place to visit, many birds like vultures, eagles, owls and a nice collection of parrots. The show itself is wonderful. Having said this all. It's a pity the French don't give shows in English. The staff is pretty good in English but the show itself is in French. I see this as contempt for non-French speaking tourists which were when I was there at least 40 percent if us.
T P — Google review
The flying display was really good. First time we had seen parrots and macaws actually flown freely.
David M — Google review
absolutely recommend going to the bird show. Not in english but still an incredible show. Only downside felt some of the birds didn’t look too happy. Still would recommend to any one to visit.
Helen — Google review
Brilliant way to spend an afternoon watching Birds of Prey fly off into the sky, enjoy themselves for 20-30minutes then come back to handlers who were performing with other birds. For the kids they had Condors walk over their legs, fed parrots and kestrel, had owl on head and handled a little owl. Some got to be part of the demonstration feeding flying birds. Took up 3 hours easily for €11 each, drinks over the same time span would have been far more expensive. Go!
Hernandez E — Google review
It was amazing! Warning: the entire program was in French. As a non-French speaker I still enjoyed the show immensely!

Restaurant du Château is a relaxed dining spot with a terrace that serves regional specialties from spring through fall. Located in the historical district of Rocamadour, it offers robust and generous dishes reflecting the area's glorious past. The restaurant is part of Hotel du Chateau, which also features recreational amenities such as an outdoor tennis court and a seasonal outdoor pool.
Nice restaurante, tasty food and a good atmosphere. No one talks in english, so the communication could be a problem sometimes. The steak dish was divine!
Juan P — Google review
Good presentation but average taste, nothing too special. It is also a place for tourists, so quite expensive for the food quality. My husband's risotto was the same risotto flavour given to our toddler (child's meal) without much cream and fish topping. He could have just ordered the child's meal too and fish on the side.
Laurice M — Google review
The quality of the food was very poor. I had an omelette truffles. The quantity and quality of the truffles was very poor. The potatoes were frozen. The restaurant is very old (90’s probably) no intimacy.
Alexandra T — Google review
I struggled with the rating of this one... We've been going there regularly for the last 10 years and have never been disappointed. But the attitude of the restaurant boss really threw us off this time. He was particularly unfriendly, not to say rude, towards our young kids. That said, our waiter did excuse for his boss' behavior. The food was good, as always, especially the dessert (peach cream with pistachio mousse, truly amazing). and their outdoor terrasse under the trees is very enjoyable.
Xavier T — Google review
Very disappointing experience. The staff was unfriendly and unwelcoming from the moment we arrived. What’s worse, we had clearly informed the restaurant in advance that our guests does not eat lamb. Despite this, they still served a dish containing lamb without any prior notice or explanation. This lack of communication and disregard for dietary requests is completely unacceptable.
N10021211 L — Google review
In 30 years of travel and dining the 3rd worst meal ever!!! We had a French speaker in our party so no misinterpretation about the menu. Fish did not come in a lemon sauce but was in a batter crust. Except the crust as soggy and meal was not hot. No hint of lemon or flavour at all. I’ve had better fish and chips for 1/4 the price at the corner shop. La Carnard was tough as was the filet. Service was presumptuous, atmosphere pretty non existent. Avoid dining here at all costs
David B — Google review
Great place! The food is fine though a bit pricier than what I remember from previous years. I have been there multiple times and always enjoyed it a lot. Their external terrace, under the trees, is perfect for kids as they can play around very safely. Staff is also very friendly.
