Perched on a high promontory with stunning views of the island, Fort George is a historic British fortification originally built in 1813. Over the years, it was utilized by various military forces before being restored and renovated. Today, it serves as a multifaceted venue featuring an art gallery, Mediterranean restaurant, and lounge bar. Visitors can enjoy exceptional service and delectable cuisine while taking in breathtaking sunset views over Vis town.
Surely the best sunset you've ever seen. The side that faces the sunset is the restaurant and the other side is the cocktail bar. The food is excellently presented, everything on the plate looks perfect. The service is excellent.

Sensational wedding venue. Our nephew and his gorgeous bride were married here last week. It was the best venue EVER! The rooftop area was spacious and perfect for a large group, the dining floor worked well as well as the entrance foyers. Would definitely recommend for a group venue. Easily 5 stars!

Worth the 40 minute walk from Vis. Setting - the very best. Service - superb. Only had coffee and soaked up the views and opulent setting. Ps the most exquisite restaurant toilets ever! One of the best, most romantic open air settings ever.
Dave F — Google review
Wide menu with large portions. We loved the fish soup, foie gras risotto, calamari and the fish of the day. Super filling and delicious in beautiful surroundings. It was raining so we ate inside which has an amazing atmosphere. So happy we went here despite being out of the way of the port.

Perfect, one of the best experiences ever! From the hospitality of Marina who received our reservation, through perfect service of Aleksandra, breathtaking sunset and atmosphere to the most delicious food on the island. Must have - shrimp risotto.

Very easy walk from downtown Vis, about 40 minutes of gradual uphill to fort george. The cafe was closed for a private event, otherwise would've been perfect to enjoy an espresso or spritz at the end of the hike.

Very picturesque fort on an island absolutely packed with military history. Unbelievably gorgeous venue for weddings etc. Stunning views and great vibe!! Recommended site.

Nature & Parks
Prirovo Beach is a charming spot located near the monastery in Vis town. The beach offers clear and warm waters, making it perfect for swimming and diving. Visitors can relax under plenty of shade or enjoy refreshments at the small cafe nearby. Additionally, there are non-salty-water showers available for use after a dip in the sea. While the northern end of the beach has large boulders with black sea urchins, the southern end features a small cafe near the church.
Quite good beach, especially if you are waiting for the ferry. If you have swimming shoes, that’s a plus as the stones are slightly uncomfortable but otherwise it’s crystal clean and pleasant. Some fish that are keen on biting your bits so get quick in the sea. No showers unfortunately in September wich is disappointing but there is cabins to change. There is a great hotel restaurant in the corner of the beach that offers brilliant lunch for 15£ or dinner/breakfast.
Tijana K — Google review
A beautiful small stretch of pebble beach near the port of Vis. We spent a whole day here as there was a beach cafe close by for drinks and bathroom. You can also walk around to see the church which is beautiful
Natalie B — Google review
Pleasant pebble beach with plenty of shade to rest in, some changing areas, but no showers that I could see. There is a small cafe at the south end, near the church. Watch out for black sea urchins around the large boulders at the northern end of the beach.
Emma B — Google review
My personal favorite beach on the island. There is a ton of space on the pebbled beach, beautiful views looking out on the harbor, and tons of space to swim out far in crystal clear water. No/very few sun beds, but very clean and convenient to vis town.

Plaža Grandovac

Public bath
Plaža Grandovac is a charming beach located about 15 minutes from Vis center, offering a serene and natural environment. The smooth pebbles, clear waters, and lack of crowds make it an ideal spot for relaxation and swimming. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque view of the horizon, with boats passing by the inlet. While there is rough parking available nearby, the beach may undergo changes due to nearby construction projects.
Beautiful beach - no facilities, loungers or cafe, but completely natural, gorgeous blue water, lovely forest. Excellent swimming. Pretty quiet even in July. I didn’t see any of the trash other commenters experienced (Visited July 2023). A wonderful unspoilt and calming place.

About 15min from Vis center on foot, there's a parking lot nearby. Crystal clear water and usually no big crowds... Love this place 💙 You can find abandoned bunker nearby, but be carefull as there is lots of debris and the ventilation seems to be pretty bad (potential risk of CO poisoning)
Michał K — Google review
Very nice beach, less crowded than the city beach in Vis, the water is clear. You can walk there from the city however it is also possible to come by car, the parking is available.
Andrea M — Google review
Nice pebbel beach with clear blue sea. Close to town Vis, easy accessible, also by car - parking is on the road that leads to the beach. Not crowded. No bar or restaurant at the beach.

Good beach. Small stones. Water gets deep fast. Some natural shadow. Parking is near but no roads. Clean water. However the half island Grandovac is now private. In 2020 they are removing the old buildings and who knows what will be built and how access to the beach will be managed.

Restaurant
Kod Paveta is a charming taverna with a cozy atmosphere and a few outdoor tables. The local food is highly recommended, especially the prsut (Croatian prosciutto) and the lamb with potatoes. The salad is flavorful, indicating organic and loving preparation. Guests praise the fast and friendly service that allows them to savor their experience. The nautical-themed interior adds to the comfortable, homey feel of the place.
I cannot recommend this place enough. These pics are a small part of our dinner menu. Every dish that we tasted was recommended by the chef and was top notch. All together the best meal on the island. The owners are super friendly and kind, really know their way with people. Great service and hospitality!

I have been coming here for years and this restaurant is the one I look forward to returning to the most! It’s a small family owned restaurant and the food is made with love. Everything is fantastic but seriously the gnocchi Gorgonzola here is the BEST IN THE WORLD! She makes amazing pašticada too, and we love their wine! Try the gnocchi, you won’t regret it.
Kimberly C — Google review
We really enjoyed the homemade tomato soup. Creamy, flavorful, and clearly made from fresh ingredients. The steak was juicy, tender, and perfectly cooked. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. All in all, a great meal. We’ll definitely be back!

Had a lovely dinner here on our first night in vis. The waiter was super friendly and gave us recommendations (and also made the gnocchi in the morning so everything is fresh and homemade). We had the Gorgonzola gnocchi and beef Pašticada - both delicious! And local red wine which was great, too. Definitely recommend.

It was amazing! Me and my girlfriend came for dinner and we had the beef and homemade gnocchi and black risotto and it was absolutely amazing! We loved every bite, the service was also amazing, the waiter was so friendly! I’d 110% recommend coming if you can, lovely meal with lovely service! Can’t wait to come back. Thank you Kod Paveta ❤️

Best place in all of Ves, the food is SO flavourful, use the best ingredients, service is impeccable and the bathrooms are very clean, it feels like first class in an old town. We ordered a variety of meals and not one of them disappointed. I recommend booking in advance because it’s always fully booked. They also provide glutton free food and it’s not the kind of glutton free food that’s tasteless, it tastes even better than food with glutton. No exaggeration, top tier place. Pave, our waiter, was so chilled and let us take our time but also served everything smoothly. Was a privilege to eat here, honestly.
P M — Google review
We came to Kod Paveta initially because of bad weather and uncertainty at another restaurant, but it was our best dinner experience to date in Croatia. The food was authentic and fresh. The service was very good, the owner was very polite and nice to us. The ambiance was lovely, very intimate since all the street tables had to be moved inside, but the owner was able to make everyone feel very welcome and comfortable despite the circumstances. We happily came a second time the next evening and the experience was just as pleasant.
Xavier B — Google review
If you want to enjoy traditional Croatian cuisine, then you definitely should visit Kod Paveta. Wonderful home cooking from Anka, friendly and relaxed service from Pave will make your evening enjoyable. They have options for everyone: gluten-free, vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters. I recommend it!

AnDe Bistro & Bar is a hidden gem on the island of Vis that promises an unforgettable dining experience. The menu features a delightful array of fresh and flavorful dishes, all beautifully presented to please both the eyes and palate. The staff here are exceptionally friendly and attentive, creating a welcoming atmosphere without being intrusive. With its perfect blend of cozy yet upscale ambiance, AnDe Bistro & Bar is ideal for everything from romantic date nights to lively dinners with friends.
On my way from Vis to Kut, fleeing a bit the usual streamlined Konobas, I stumbled over the sign "Fish and Chips" that instantly cought my attention. Good job, I spontaneously decided to enter. I was rewarded for this decision by a really nice plate of fish and chips, washed down by a tasty glas of white. The pancake, that rounded things up, was fluffy, the jam fruity and the portion more than sufficient! When I asked the owner if I could perhaps take along one of the knives, as I was missing one on my ship, I was presented with a full set of cutlery and not allowed to pay for it. What a nice gesture from a nice person in s nice restaurant!

In the flood of offers on the island of Vis, we chose this place without looking at the rating. This alone would probably have turned us off, but in our experience it is not exactly fair to the restaurateur. Luckily, we were right at the beginning when the place opened and I saw in which bush the rabbit was hiding for such a rating. Both the cook and the waiter are alone for everything, but the calamari (15€) on the hot plate was very deliciously prepared. In short, I RECOMMEND it, but you should not rush because everything is freshly prepared and the "waiter" is not exactly speedy Gonzalez and he does not have to be, that's how the service is impeccable. The price ... normal for Vis, very competitive compared to the bars on the waterfront.
Leo — Google review
In general very good experience! Lovely waitress and friendly kitchen stuff. We loved our coffee and breakfast. Although the sausage wasn’t the best and french toasts could be less soft inside. The prices were alright.
Jakub N — Google review
The owner of the hotel recommended this place to us. And the place is really worthy - delicious food, pleasant music, smiling waiters, if not for the elderly male waiter who was constantly picking on the less experienced guys, not mincing his words - despite the guests of the restaurant. I don't understand - why such a quarrelsome person is on the staff? During our week on the island, we visited this restaurant several times and each time something happened. Otherwise - a great atmospheric place, with music and excellent cuisine.

We sailed to VIS and had a great time with friends at AnDe Bistro! The Apple Pie was delicious so as the Lava Cake!
Rom K — Google review
The food was beyond delicious, every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The ambiance struck the perfect balance between cozy and upscale, making it a great spot for both a date night or dinner with friends. You can tell the team here really cares about quality and service. I’ll definitely be coming back, highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

We both ate burgers (salmon burger and fish burger), based on the ingredients it seems more a brunch type of meal than a proper meal, also a bit pricey for this size of portion. The bread was a bit too dry for my taste and the ingredients were nothing special. Service was ok.

I happen to love fish sandwiches, don't ask me why. I eat them a lot. I can't remember having a fish sandwiches as good as the one here. It is simple but phenomenal. Perfect. Fried hake (white fish) with lettuce, tomato, onions, sauce. Just perfect.

Restaurant
Lola Konoba & Bar is a unique dining spot on the island, offering a fusion of flavors with a touch of Spain in its gourmet cuisine. The chef's experience living in Spain brings an authentic Spanish influence to the menu. The restaurant provides an exceptional garden setting for a delightful dining experience, complemented by excellent service and a selection of local wines. Guests rave about the flavorful dishes, such as salmon and hake prepared in different styles, and the outstanding cocktails and gin tonics.
Dining at Lola Konoba was truly a highlight of our trip to Vis. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was perfect, laid-back yet elegant, with a gorgeous garden setting and a vibe that captures the magic of the island. What really made the evening unforgettable was Daniela, our incredible host. She went above and beyond, offering thoughtful recommendations for drinks and dishes that turned out to be absolute hits. Every bite was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. On top of that, Daniela shared wonderful suggestions for places to explore around the island, including beaches (Silver Beach) and wine tours, helping us make the most of our time here. The central location made it easy to stop in during a walk around town, and we’re so glad we did. If you're visiting Vis, Lola Konoba is a must. A perfect combination of great food, warm hospitality, and island charm.

This restaurant is excellent, particularly the ambience and staff. We shared a few of the starters: the cuttlefish croquettes, the gnudi with ricotta and truffle and the roast pumpkin with spicy tahini mayo. All were amazing, but the pumpkin took the cake. The spice was just perfect. For the mains, I got the beef cheek. This was really tender and overall excellent, only issue was that some of the almonds were very bitter. Finally for dessert, we tried all of them: the carob cake, deconstructed lemon tart and the chocolate truffles. I wasn’t a fan of these to be honest - not worth the price!

MUST TRY 💎 Hidden garden gem with amazing drinks and food. The atmosphere is also super charming with great music. The service is friendly and overall this is the type of hidden gem anyone hopes to find! I came just for the experience so only had drinks and a snack but would love to come back for a full meal!

We had our wedding at Lola Konoba on Vis Island, and it was truly the most magical day of our lives. From the very start of planning to the moment the last song played on the day of our wedding, Puri and her husband were there for us every step of the way. They made everything feel easy and exciting, and nothing was ever too much to ask. Their kindness, care, and attention to detail went far beyond our expectations. On the day itself, the whole team created an atmosphere filled with love, warmth, and joy, everything we could have dreamed of and more. The food, the setting, the way we and our guests were looked after… it was all just perfect. We will forever be grateful to Puri, her husband, and the amazing staff at Lola for giving us memories we will cherish for a lifetime. I highly recommend you book Lola for an intimate wedding, and allow Puri the autonomy to design the venue based on your pintrest board because she is the most talented wedding designer I have ever come across… I will thank you for a lifetime

Absolutely stunning location! Very nice service and have great recommendations. Had a fantastic starter which was the cuttlefish croquettes followed by a beef cannelloni (could do with a bit more spice or extra flavor) and the grilled octopus (my favorite). We were then recommended the carob cake which was super tasty. Definitely recommend for the cute location, great service, and fantastic food!

The atmosphere is great in this restaurant. The service people are amazing and the food is delicious. And a fair warning, the portions are huge so share food, especially the antipasti. There were two of us and we took 2 antipasti and we were full by the time we got our main dishes. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

A truly pleasant experience in a stunning place. I had the challenge to organice a social event for 47 people for all the participants of the 2025 UX FLOTILLA Edition, and the Lola Konoba team leaded by Puri, set up a delicious meal for all of us. The atenttion was lovely, and each table were able to pay by card without any problem. Thanks very much to Puri and her team, keep going!!

Visiting Lola was a highlight of our trip to Vis in 2023, and when we returned this year, it was just as nice as our memories remembered. The setting is beautiful and was sheltered from the October evening breeze, the menu options were carefully selected and catered to different tastes, the food itself was delicious and generous portions, and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and generous with their time. Would 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting, and a big thank you to the Lola team for their hard work!

Villa Rustica Vis is a charming family-owned restaurant on Vis island, offering traditional Croatian recipes in a peaceful garden setting. Diners can enjoy fresh and tasty dishes like stuffed peppers, octopus salad, marinated sardines, beef risotto, and cuttlefish with beans. The outdoor grill adds to the romantic atmosphere as guests savor delicious meals served by friendly staff. With fair prices and a historical garden to explore, this restaurant provides an unforgettable dining experience near the center of Vis.
Had an amazing time and feest in Villa Rustica! Delicious food and kind waiter with helping attitude made our evening. Yes, there are few ants on trees, but hey, aren’t we guests in their world;)

It was a fair dinner. Lamb on grill was unfortunately not evenly grilled, two pieces were very good but other two overgrilled and totaly dry. Black risotto was OK, rice maybe a bit overcooked. A little more attention to details and would be really good. Open Vugava vine was light and tasty.

Food was delicious and the service was great ! Beautiful atmosphere as well. Keep your eyes peeled for “carpet” the cat and other stray friends.

Great restaurant. Family-owned and -managed with a traditional approach to cooking. 100% recommended if you wanna try out some traditional Croatian recipes. We had the stuffed peppers, the octopus salad and marinated sardines - everything was fresh and tasty. The location is equally pleasing, the garden is very peaceful and the tables are quite apart from one another.

We really wanted to love the food, as the garden seating is so beautiful. Our calimari was big and impressive looking but extremely rubbery. Our lamb was well seasoned but thin and a bit dry. Our bread basket was just toast slices, and ants got into the basket. The only saving grace was the squid ink risotto, which was delicious with a side of roasted vegetables. We unfortunately liked the food the least out of the places we tried so far in Zagreb, Split, and Vis, although we do try to avoid touristy places and have generally been quite successful 🌝

Overall, this restaurant was amazing. It had a great exterior, outside surrounded with nature in the shade which was very pleasent. Good food, excellent fish shoup and fish dishes. Like in a movie, Maria, a professional chef prepares delicious Croatian dishes in a stylish, romantic garden with open grill, served by her congenial outdoor cook. We came on short notice with 9 people and had the best dinner of our sail trip. Lamb, fish, risotto, cuttlefish, you name it, with nice white house wine.

Konoba Težok is a hidden gem in Vis, located about 1.1km from the tourist boat port. Despite being a bit off the beaten path, it's well worth the visit. The restaurant offers amazing service and good quality meals at reasonable prices. It provides a quieter atmosphere to enjoy the sunset and is highly recommended for a great dining experience. The staff are professional and friendly, making guests feel welcomed and valued.
We had a lovely meal there last night. The steaks were yummy and cooked well, the serving staff friendly and helpful. They let us stay after and complete another round of uno. Very convenient for the boats and price wise in the middle of all of the restaurants we have eaten at over the last 10 days. Nice ambience, locals going swimming, people wandering looking at boats. All in all very nice.

Whether you're a local or just visiting Croatia, this restaurant is an absolute gem. From the moment we sat down to the last bite, everything was flawless. Seafood appetizer – a perfect introduction to the Mediterranean! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. A great balance between tradition and creativity. Tuna steak – simply outstanding. Perfectly seared, tender on the inside, and full of taste. One of the best I’ve ever had. The service – special compliments to the waiter, who was not only professional and attentive but also genuinely warm and welcoming. He added a personal touch that made the whole experience even better. Highly recommended – I’ll definitely be coming back!

The view is breathtaking! The fish carpaccio is incredible. Service was personable :) Double check your bill, we were charged twice for everything we ordered…..

Well..I'll try to be polite. The restaurant is nicely situated at far end of the pier with a cozy atmosphere. Settings were for a nice dinner out with friends. That's pretty much the good part. The waiter did not take notes, so we got some random orders. Some were left without. The wine was served in a pitcher and was foul. It's not a matter of taste. No one could drink it. The word about the tuna was not so satisfied, but risotto people had no complaints. 26e bbq ribs were the tiniest I have ever seen. They were tender and well made but almost cold and totally not worth the money.

Ordered the swordfish with capers - very generous meal with sides suggested by the waiter. Delicious - couldn’t eat it all. Waiter friendly and good views of the lights of Vis. A hidden gem at the end of Vis. Worth the walk.

We were initially a bit cautious because there was no one else in the restaurant and especially having passed a few other places that were busy, it made us wonder …. If you approach in the same circumstances, dispel the caution! The food was delicious and began with an appetiser of home made cheese which was light as if whipped and herby. The black risotto deeply flavoursome with tender cuttlefish and chicken in Mediterranean sauce made with fresh tomatoes and herbs was tangy fresh and aromatic. The best meal out in Vis/ Kut to date!
Emma W — Google review
The owner and the bartender in good spirit, a lot of help what to order from a relatively rich menu. Freshly caught fish was very good. Wine tastes perfect. At the end, we were treated to some local spirits.
Luka B — Google review
TBH, not the best of experiences. I'll start with the good point - wine was reasonably priced. 2 of the 4 meals had were not great, if we hadn't ordered extra fries all meals would have just consisted of a slab of meat and half a tomato. Massive error with the bill left us overcharged. Really disappointing restaurant that doesn't deserve to be running - learn from our mistakes and avoid at all costs.

For day 2, we recommend exploring the northeast side side of town. Start the day off with Stončica, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Mamma Mia 2. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Beach
Stončica is a picturesque beach located in a narrow bay on the island of Vis. It features a mix of sand and rocks, with clear waters ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Families with children will appreciate the sandy shore, shallow sea that allows for worry-free play, and the presence of palm trees providing shade from the sun. The beach also offers amenities such as a restaurant, toilet facilities, and nearby parking.
One of the most beautiful beaches on Vis, the shades of the sea spill along the deep bay from green to dark blue, the shade of a dozen palm trees on the shore adds an extra touch of charm. In high season it is too small for the number of people who would like to enjoy it, so that should be taken into account.

Nice small beach, especially if you have children. Sandy and shallow beach with clear water. In September it was not crowded.
Mina M — Google review
We spent a whole day here and it was the perfect short day trip from Vis port area for a relaxing day by the sea. Got there easily by moped with great views along the way. Short walk down to the beach which had a public bathroom and a great spot for lunch or dinner with fresh seafood and salad (for the veggies). We went beginning of June and it made for a peaceful day, ideal for sunbathing and snorkelling.

I don't understand the hype about this beach. It's nice, the sea is beautifully clean, and there's a gentle sandy entry, but the edges are full of stinging anemones, the shore is covered in trash, and there's no shade. The owners of the restaurant and the kiosk should make more of an effort to keep the beach clean.
Daniel N — Google review
The beach is tiny and whilst there is some sand there isn’t much and the rest of the beach is gritty. There is a small area of grass you can sit on next to goal posts. There is a restaurant onsite at one end of the beach and a bar at the other. Beers were reasonably priced; we didn’t try the restaurant. Our view out of the bay was obscured by a dozen yachts and the swim zone is small; the shoreline is sandy and pebbly - watch out for sea urchins.

A peaceful sandy beach with a long entrance and and small waters perfect for children. During the day there is a lot of shade under the palm trees and an awsome konoba! Easy to arrive at by car & 5 min walk.
Cristina I — Google review
Very nice beach. Suitable for kids, there are sand and pebbles parts. You have a toilet available and a restaurant. Aproach to beach is with car and last part on foot.
Stjepan V — Google review
Great place for people with kids, sand on beach, little rocks on entrance, shallow sea allows small kids to play without worry. There are few palm trees for shade to hide from sun, toilette and small konoba Stoncica with ok prices for drinks and food. Access to beach is little steep near beach but nothing to worry about, beach is cca 300m from wide space for parking cars. There is also lighthouse nearby, 1.8km away from parking, but access to lighthouse is not permited, non the less it looks vey powerfull.

Beach
Milna Beach is a small city beach located on a peninsula with fine gravel and pebbles. Tamarisk trees provide shade, creating a perfect spot for hot summer days. The crystal-clear turquoise sea is shallow and calm, making it ideal for swimming and water activities like kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding. Nearby amenities include restaurants, volleyball and futsal courts, as well as the option to take a taxi boat to Budikovac Island.
One of the most beautiful beaches I've seen. Crystal blue water and sand, easily accessible by scooter or car. Our host told us it was busy and the 'hidden' beach next to it was better, but we found Milna to be the best and even more quiet. You can rent two beds and a parasol for only 15 euro. It is also possible to rent a paddle board or kayak to visit the smaller island up north.
Jelle H — Google review
We found this beach stunning!! We decided to go hang on the rocks and the pebbles near the boats, it was truly stunning!! The water was so clear and it felt like swimming in a swimming pool. Absolutely loved it 😍

Nice and tiny sandy beach with crystal clear turquoise sea. Sea is shallow and calm most of the time. You can access it by car. Parking for cars is on the street next to the beach. Kayak and SUP renting as well as take taxi boat to island Budikovac are available at the beach. 20 minutes walking distance from here is another beautiful beach called Zaglav, there is also bar / restaurant.

Very nice beach, with lovely colours and not too crowded
Ernesto N — Google review
A fair bay it is, yet the beach be but a modest strip, with scarce a spot wherein a weary soul might lay himself down. The sands, alas, be somewhat befouled, though the waters glisten crystal-clear. Services there be upon the shore, and lo — one may even tether his carriage but a stone’s throw away.

One of few rear sandy beaches on the island Vis. Lovely quiet place often not to crowded.Paddle board rental and different boat tours available from here. Certainly recommendations!

Average sandy beach, smells a bit, narrow, near a road but not much traffic. Water is shallow so great for kids. Parking is near if you are not too late. View of the village. Zaglav beach is much better.

Restaurant
Pizzeria Karijola is a must-visit spot located along the shore towards Vis. With its mainly outdoor seating, it offers a magnificent view of the marina. Visitors praise it for serving some of the best pizza in Croatia. The restaurant's location at the end of a beautiful promenade, surrounded by souvenir shops and restaurants, adds to its charm. Guests enjoy the aromatic atmosphere, enhanced by the sea breeze and pleasant music.
We came there at 23:30 and expected kitchen to be closed, and we asked waiter girl to confirm it. Then we ordered couple of beers and pull out some snack that we had with ourselves. 10 minutes after that, a guy working there came to us and said: "I can not longer watch you eating the crisps. Take the menu and choose quick." And we did. They made 2 excellent pizzas just for us and they didn't have to. What a lovely gesture.
Radomir V — Google review
Pizzeria Karijola on Vis Island is a must-visit. They serve delicious thin and crispy pizzas with a great craft beer and wine selection. We ordered several different pizzas, I recommend the pizza with anchovies and the pizza with smoked bacon. The staff is friendly, and the sea view adds to the cozy ambience. Don't miss this spot if you're looking for tasty pizza by the sea.
Milos V — Google review
We were pleasantly surprised by how quickly our pizzas were ready, prepared in no time and served with a smile. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. Both pizzas we tried were delicious, with fresh ingredients and perfect crusts. Highly recommended for a quick, tasty, and enjoyable meal!

One of the best pizza places I've ever been to. The crust is immaculate, the sauce is perfect. If you're on Vis and don't visit this place, you're not truly visiting Vis!

Place sucked (servers were terrible) place wasn’t that busy. We bussed our own table, grabbed our own menu. Sat for 20 minutes without being serviced. Female, was about 5ft 6in, brown hair in a bun, smiled and never came back, lots of open tables.

If you’re looking for a place to feel invisible, this is it. We didn’t have a reservation but were happy to wait for a table—unfortunately, the teenage hostess was incredibly rude and unwelcoming. She wouldn’t even look at us when we asked about the wait time, rolled her eyes, and made a disgusted face, almost like we were bothering her just by existing. Based on that treatment alone, we wouldn’t return even with a reservation. Zero stars—avoid this place. ✨ If you’re after friendly service and truly the best pizza in town, do yourself a favor and go to Mamma Mia 2—it’s on a whole different level. 🍕

Boat tour agency
Vis Tours, operated by Mili, offers an exceptional experience for travelers looking to explore the stunning island of Vis and its surrounding areas. With a focus on providing top-notch customer service, Mili ensures that guests feel valued and well-cared for during their journey. The tours include visits to Hvar, tours of Pakleni Islands, lunch at Laganini, swims at beautiful beaches, and afternoon tours along the Vis coastline.
This was such an awesome private boat tour of Vis (southern side of island)! Also a great price, considering my friend and I had a whole boat and tour to ourselves. Mili, our guide, was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and accommodating. He was also immediately responsive to communication, which was much appreciated. The tour itself was incredible, and Mili took us places that a lot of other boat tours don’t go. Such a beautiful, relaxing day. We’d recommend Vis Tours in a heartbeat!
Jennifer W — Google review
Fantastic trip. Mily was great in challenging weather conditions ensuring he could find a pick up and drop off location that avoided the waves and winds and meaning we could still visit secluded and calm coves and caves with beautiful coloured water and great swimming. Has to be the best way to reach secluded coves that would be very difficult to get to by land. We are a family of four from the UK and chose a private tour. Very happy to recommend.

We had a wonderful experience with Vis Tours, exploring the blue caves and hidden beaches of Vis. From start to finish, the tour was perfectly organized, relaxed, and filled with beautiful sights. The pace of the tour was just right, and our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the island. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Vis – it’s a must-do!
Alexis M — Google review
Yesterday we returned, full of impressions, from a boat cruise around Vis and a couple of neighboring islands. We quickly and easily agreed on everything with our captain Miljenko - Mili. We tol him we were interested in visiting the Stiniva beach and the Blue Cave on Biševo. The rest of our itinerary was splendidly designed by Mili. A very nice Dutch family of three went with us, so we had an almost private tour. According to Mili's recommendation, we started the trip at 8 am, which turned out to be excellent because we avoided the biggest crowds at the most famous locations, and the sun wasn't that strong either. We passed by the lighthouse on Cape Stončica, and then visited the Green Cave on the islet of Ravnik. The next stop was Ruda bay, which delighted us - crystal clear and calm sea with the most beautiful hues of blue and green. Then we went to the famous Stiniva beach, where we bathed and drank coffee. Mili has a waterproof bag that can hold money, phones and other necessities. On the way to the next beach, Mili showed us the limestone rocks around which the sea is also of beautiful colors. The next bay, Velika Pritišćina, is also very nice and pleasant for swimming. Then we headed to Biševo, where our rubber boat showed its speed, and Captain Mili demonstrated his driving skills. The 30 minutes' ride was extremely pleasant. Mili provided us with fast-track tickets, so we didn't even wait 5 minutes to get on the boat that goes to the Blue Cave itself. The Blue Cave itself is an incredible experience, don't miss it! We returned to the town of Vis via the northern side of the island, so we toured the entire island. The last stop before the Vis port was the Jastog Tunnel, which the Yugoslav Army built in the 1980s to hold warships. The trip was truly unforgettable, and for that we are grateful to our captain Mili, who is an excellent expert on the island of Vis and the entire archipelago, a safe and experienced skipper and a very pleasant company. Relaxed and easy-going in his manner, he will explain everything you are interested in, and will not bore you with unnecessary stories. At the end, you feel as if you were on a trip with a small group of friends. Highly recommended!

Very nice adventurous tour. Skipper made effort to get us to the beaches and caves we wanted to see during our short time we had on the island.

Excellent tour along the south shore of Vis. Being a private tour we were able to choose how much time in each location and our guide was wonderful. Highly recommend Vis tours. Speedboat ride was comfortable and allowed us to get to many places.

We had an amazing day touring around the island of Vis with our skipper. He was professional, skilled, and made the whole trip feel like a private tour just for us. The ride was smooth and comfortable, and he even managed to get us quick entry into the Blue Cave, saving us a lot of waiting time. On top of that, he was extremely friendly and pleasant, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommended!

Wonderful experience in Vis. Since it’s a local company, got us speed line tickets at the blue cave which made a world of difference! Mamma Mia 2 was filmed on Vis Island, which stood in for Greece in the movie. The island was taken over by the production company during filming, and many locals were hired as extras. Various companies offer tours of Mamma Mia filming locations on the island, but it's also possible to visit these spots independently with a vehicle. Vis Island features prominently in the film, showcasing its picturesque sites like the Franciscan Monastery and Stiniva Cove.
One of the best coffee spots on the island! The food is fresh, delicious, and always beautifully presented. The staff is polite and understands good service. It’s quiet, with pleasant music, and conveniently located near the ferry.

LOCATION & ATMOSPHERE Location next to the sea, in the harbor but the atmosphere is good enough to undo the fact that you are in the harbor. SERVICE Professional, pleasant. PRICE Medium prices, consider it is a touristic place and they are not cheap but for the quality and quantity - good value. FOOD The best part. I took burratina pizza, great taste, 32cm radius of pizza (asked the waiter haha) and there are a lot of things on it. Fried sweet potato is good but the portion is very expensive (8.5€) - I expected 5€ max. OVERALL A good place to eat in the city of Vis, recommendation.

Visited with friends in the middle of September. The food was nice — I had shrimp risotto and tomato soup, both tasty and filling, and the risotto was cooked perfectly. My friend had grilled calamari and an Aperol. The only disappointment for me was the cocktail. I ordered a Pornstar Martini, and for the first time ever, it was served without passion fruit — instead, it came with a slice of dried lime. I honestly thought it was a joke, since passion fruit is the essence of that cocktail. If the recipe differs from the classic version, it should really be mentioned on the menu.

My mom and I had the most AMAZING food and service at this restaurant. This was easily one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. The servers were incredibly friendly & happy to provide recommendations. 10/10 experience - a MUST go!

A very popular spot right next to the ferry and water. It had a lot of seating and was a great space to relax. Which was good because it took a very long time to get service, at one point we were worried that we were sat in a spot that wouldn’t get served, but it did come eventually. We really had to fight for attention to order. The food was fine, standard brunchish fare. I would look more fondly on it if it wasn’t such a chore to get assistance. The frittata was more scrambled eggs on toast.

Great food in a really nice ambient. The staff was super nice and the shrimp risotto was out of this world. I decently recommend the cheeseburger also. It is a real pleasure to watch the melted cheese drape all ower the burger.

Last but not least, Mvesevm Vis is a captivating wine bar that combines coffee, beverages, and remarkable historical artifacts. Although the food options are limited to occasional cold platters and snacks, there is still an abundance of things to appreciate about this intriguing establishment. Upon entering, one is greeted by walls adorned with historical elements, including military attire. The quality of coffee at this cafe is exceptional while their gin cocktails featuring local Dalmatian gin are highly recommended.
I can say this is the best wine place in Vis, inc whole Split area. A range of wine is available in wine by the glass, and the selection is fantastic. Lovely and cosy vibe with a fantastic owner as well. I can not recommend it more! Just visit there and enjoy the experience :)

One of the best specialty coffees I've had opportunity to taste. Really liked traditional style merged with very much competitive coffee taste - a little bit sour which I love. Very nice, easy going and comfy place with great food and great service. We had rumpsteak and potatoes and it was amazing (hence the empty plate 😊). Portions are big, everything is fresh. Regarding dessert highly recommend crepes with lemon and sugar!

We had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant in Croatia, and it quickly became our favorite! The food was absolutely delicious, with incredible seafood that was incredibly fresh. Plus, the dessert was simply delightful, rounding out a perfect meal. What truly set this place apart was the lovely and welcoming staff. They were incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, which features produce grown right in their own garden attached to the restaurant. This farm-to-table approach added an extra layer of freshness and flavor to every dish. The ambiance was perfect, with an incredible view that enhanced our dining experience. It was a wonderful combination of a homey atmosphere and upscale dining, making it feel special yet comfortable. We were so impressed by the staff's professionalism and upbeat attitude, especially when faced with some rude customers. They handled everything with grace and warmth, which made us appreciate them even more. Pizzeria Charlie Vis is a popular spot in Croatia, especially for tourists. It's located near the center of town and offers great pizza and pasta dishes. The atmosphere is lively, with outdoor seating by the harbor and a lovely old palace. The food receives praise for its unique flavors, such as the mortadella pizza with sour cream and the spicy lasagne diavola. Vegetarian options are available, along with delicious French fries and fresh juices.
Delicious pizza! We came with a large group and the team were able to facilitate our takeaway pizzas very seamlessly. The food was great and reasonable prices. Some good local ingredient pizzas too!

Cranky waiters ruin the experience. They were not at all welcoming. The place wasn't busy between lunch and dinner. They asked we sit at a table for 4, not 5. The table for 5 Never filled while we were there. Then we started by ordering drinks, and were told to go across the street if we didn't order food. We stayed and ordered food which was ok, NOT amazing. People we knew came and sat down and were given the same run around, so we asked them to sit at our table. Then other friends of theirs showed up for dinner and they all left to eat elsewhere because the service was so unfriendly. The original table they sat at never filled and the restaurant lost out on another 6 customers not willing to tolerate a rude welcome. Too bad, the food was decent, but it's not like there are not about 6 pizzerias within a few blocks of here. Maybe it's just best to go elsewhere.

Surprise hidden gem in Vis! This place was recommended by our tour guide and it did not disappoint. The menu is simple but delicious and the service was speedy. We sat in the courtyard for dinner so we weren’t in the hot sun. We ordered the margarita pizza and the bolognese spaghetti. Both were fabulous! I forgot to take pics until after we had started so apologies that you’re not seeing them as delivered to the table.

Fish was cut and grilled to finish. Totally unacceptable for 3 peaces of fish below 1 kg each. We ordered wine, and they had only 2 bottles and they let us know once we were ordering more. Fish was not as fresh as advertised. They were playing cheap house music often used in hotels lobbies and supermarkets or malls.

Avoid this place!! My friend lost her credit card here. The next day, I called the number from their business card. The owner/manager answered and told me they hadn’t found anything, and that I shouldn’t be calling about “stupid things” between 2–5 PM. He then started swearing at me and insulting me before hanging up. Absolutely disgraceful! This place is overrated—avoid it at all costs! At the very least, local guests, be smarter and stay away!!

Stiniva is a charming and secluded beach known for its small size, clear waters, and sheltered atmosphere. It is situated in a picturesque cove on Vis Island, surrounded by high limestone cliffs that almost encircle the area with only a narrow opening to the sea. Accessible by a steep track or boat, this idyllic white pebble beach offers crystal-clear blue waters for swimming and features a small bar cabin for refreshments.
The hike is 20m down 20m up medium-slow tempo. you can make it in sandals easily, if you are not sure then bring sneakers. The beach is very atmospheric bring glasses to look underwater. early morning are the best before it’s too crowded

A real hidden gem on Vis worth the rocky trek down. We got a moped from the port area and it took us around 30 mins to arrive and then a hike literally down a cliff to get to the beach. Manageable for all ages if you’re comfortable with rocky paths and the 15/20 minute hike is 100% worth it for the beach. There is a bathroom and small food place at the bottom with rentable deck chairs but we just laid out on the pebbles. The cove was a small piece of paradise with clear water perfect for swimming and snorkelling. We even saw a couple rock climbing and people paddle boarding in from boats. A definite must-visit when on the island 💙🦋

Disclaimer: My partner has a heart condition and she was the one that wanted to visit, I did not force her to go on this hike, but I did support her throughout it. This place is truly amazing. So far it's been the most beautiful beach we've visited, and we've seen quite a few really great looking ones. There are two ways to get there. Via car + hike. Or via boat. Not sure about the costs of the boat ride, but a return trip with Smile Taxi from Komiža was 60 EUR. I have included some photos and a video to try and give you a taste of the most difficult parts of the hike. I would say it's a medium level hike. People say it takes 15 min each way. I clocked our ascent at 35-37 minutes with a lot of breaks for my partner to be able to rest along the way. The hike is not very difficult, but does require some caution. There are parts with very sharp rocks, parts with sliding rocks, parts where a bit of climbing may be required. But if my partner with a heart disease and other illnesses was able to make it, you can probably do too. And the beach is really worth it. It's a stoney kind of beach, with lots of rounded stones of various sizes.

Stiniva Beach is hands down the most beautiful beach I’ve ever seen in my life. Tucked away in a secluded cove with crystal-clear water and beautiful high cliffs surrounding you, it feels like stepping into a hidden paradise. The atmosphere is peaceful and almost surreal, especially in the early morning when the light is soft and the crowds haven’t arrived yet. Getting there requires a bit of a hike, about 20 minutes down and another 20 back up at a medium-slow pace. It’s not too difficult, but definitely not ideal for sandals and flip flops. Do yourself a favor and bring sneakers or proper walking shoes and the sandals/flip flops you can save them in to the bag and then have them on the beach. Once you reach the beach, you’ll want to stay a while. Bring snorkeling glasses, the underwater view is amazing. The water is so clear you can see fish swimming all around, and the calmness of the bay makes it perfect for a relaxing swim. There’s also a small café called Tavern Peruka right near the beach. It’s a great spot to grab a coffee, soda, juice, or even a sandwich. Prices start at around €4 and go up from there. They accept both card and cash, which is super convenient. If you’re visiting Vis, Stiniva is an absolute must. There is no wifi or phone signal. Just go early, bring the right shoes, and take your time soaking it all in you won’t regret it. Enjoy!☺️
Luka S — Google review
Stiniva on Vis Island is an incredible beach known for its impressive cliffs that form a beautiful, secluded cove. Getting there involves a very steep 15-30 minute hike, with some parts being quite slippery. Alternatively, you can arrive by boat, but if so, you will need to take a dinghy or swim to the shore. So, be ready for some adventure. The beach is a mix of pebbles and rocks with crystal-clear, blue water perfect for swimming. Arrive early to beat the crowds, as it gets busy, especially with boats bringing tourists later in the day. Even better, visit outside the peak season. There is a small local bar for drinks, which unfortunately, due to some over-commercialisation (loud music, additional building, and occupying the beach with sunbeds), somewhat spoils the original natural experience. Expect higher prices. Though it is popular and can be crowded, if you are on Vis, Stiniva beach is a must-see for its stunning natural beauty. Just wear good shoes, bring water, and be prepared for the hike back up! The amazing views and unique setting make it totally worth it.

It matches the beauty of the photos I saw before coming here. Despite there being many bost tours it didn't feel crowded. Was able to get a few shots and photos without many people in it.

The Green Cave is a captivating destination that should be on every traveler's itinerary when exploring the stunning Croatian coastline. This enchanting cave, accessible via a small group speedboat excursion, offers an unforgettable experience as you swim in its crystal-clear waters and marvel at the beams of sunlight streaming through its roof. The vibrant shades of blue create a mesmerizing backdrop for photos, making it ideal for those with waterproof cameras.
Such an awesome and intrepid experience. The peace and magic of these caves is truly healing. It was great and extremely nourishing to soak it all up.
Buyisiwe V — Google review
For those who have to pay to go in this cave, I would advise not if you also then have the chance to go to the Blue Cave. The Blue Cave is worth paying to go in. The Green Cave is not worth paying to go in. However, depending on how you are getting here, you can swim into the cave for free. Luckily, our boat excursion came later in the day when the small boats are no longer operating, and you can simply swim, which is cool. But there's not much special about this other than it's a cave with water access.
Jonathan M — Google review
Nice cave if you catch the beam of light you can get nice picture from underwater. Bring waterproof phone case. Totally worth it not sure how I feel about the 12 € fee to enter as its nature and we shouldn't pay for nature water, cliffs etc...but...
Ana I — Google review
It's a nice small cave that has a hole in the ceiling through which the sun his the underwater floor and gives some nice reflections. You can be either taken in by the cave crew on a small boat to take some pics or swim in (you'll pay the ticket either way). We went in with the small boat to take a few pics then a quick snorkeling action on our way out. Needles to say, you need a boat to get to the cave location.
Tudor L — Google review
Gorgeous! The water is crystal clear and you can easily see the bottom. The cave is really cool!
Summer N — Google review
Extremely beautiful and lovely to see. I have no idea why so many reviews are talking about having to pay to enter. There was no rope and no one blocking us from entering at all (ad of was May 2024). It's fairly small and quite dark, but in the center there is a hole which light shines through and makes a beautiful scene in the middle. Pictures can't really do it justice, you have to see it for yourself!

Super cool to be able to swim into the caves. The interior isn't as stunning as the blue caves, but it was a great experience!!

Restaurant
Roki's Winery & Restaurant, situated on the picturesque Croatian island of Vis, has gained popularity among locals for its delectable seafood and traditional Dalmatian dishes. Housed in a charmingly refurbished stone building, the restaurant exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere. Emphasizing the use of locally sourced ingredients like fresh fish caught by local fishermen and seasonal produce from nearby farms, Roki's is committed to offering an authentic culinary experience.
This was my third time at Roki’s over the past seven years and it’s still one of my favorite restaurants. The food and service are always fantastic but they have currently moved to a location which is much more accessible near Vis town (five minute drive) but I miss the location on the winery which was stunning. We ordered the octopus fish and meat for three adults and two teabags boys and it was way too much food (which we knew but wanted to try). The cocktails of the day was also wonderful. Will be returning next time I’m in Vis regardless of the location.
Aaron G — Google review
We ordered octopus and monkfish under the lid, everything was delicious! The atmosphere was pleasant and the host was great.
Ivan Š — Google review
It was our first time in Roki's and it was amazing, we will definitely be coming back next year. The food was amazing, the octopus was the best we have ever head. The waiter was also super nice.
Lucija K — Google review
This was our second visit to Rocki’s and I'm happy to say that it lived up to our high expectations. We've not had better peka! We preferred the old location but the new one is also nice. They can pick you up from Vis, which is great if you don't have a car. It used to be free and they didn't mention when we booked that it now costs 12€ for 2 people return, but that's totally reasonable. The fish plate starter was excellent too.
Tom W — Google review
Best octopus peka we have had! They have really delicious wine. The waiter was very welcoming and gave us a wine recommendation.
Ana G — Google review
The staff were very friendly, the food was delicious(the portion was more than enough for two), and the atmosphere was very nice. The slow-cooked dishes(peka) need to be ordered in advance when you reserve a table, so they’re ready when you arrive! Highly recommended!
Monna Č — Google review
I do not recommend this restaurant. The food was average – we ordered lamb and veal, and both were overcooked. The wine was good but overpriced, just like the food. We paid 160 euros for two adults and a 5-year-old child, only for main course and wine. The portion of meat was 33 euros, but we were given very few pieces of meat and a lot of potatoes. For 100 euros, we expected more than just a few small pieces of meat. It was really too much for what we received. We left feeling like we had been cheated. I wouldn’t suggest going there. I don’t recommend this restaurant.
Katarina C — Google review
Over priced and disappointing for the amount of money paid. Are group of 6 expected a Peka for two, each. Instead it was a large Peka with mostly potato, 3-4 small carrots and 10 pieces of lamb for 6! Not worthy of euro 32 per person. Food was good but value for money was not. A few more different vegetables and a couple more lamb pieces would have made a difference.

When we visited Nikola’s farm we were welcomed warmly, he gave us to try his own farm tomatoes ( I have never tried tastier tomatoes in my life) and explained everything about his CBD products. His products were amazing and you can order them online as well! If you are in island Vis definitely go visit this place, I would recommend to anyone!

A must visit when in Vis, even if you are not interested only in CBD products, Nikola the owner shows you all his cosmetic products, homemade, sustainable and eco friendly. There is something so charming about visiting the farm, seeing the way the family business is run, and helps that the owner is a super friendly guy! We left with 5g of cbd (really reasonably priced) and it was some of the most natural delicious flower we have come across. Please go and visit if you are nearby, it is well worth the short trip!

You will not regret visiting Nikola and his farm. Informative, kind and helpful briefly describe the host/CEO of Canna Vis. His merchandise is top notch, organic and locally produced. Also, the bang for buck ratio is unparalleled. I warmly reccomend putting this bussiness in your itinerary while visiting the Island. Canna Vis > Tegridy Farms, Nikola > Randy

CannaVis isnt just another company. Today we had the chance to get to see the owner and the team on our own. We just wanted to buy CBD oil because of health issues and drive away. But this was impossible. The owner warmly welcomed us and offered us to sit and try out his products. It was like we knew each other, people with a huge heart and passion that made you feel like home. There is so much effort and love behind each item and the quality is amazing. Everything is 100% natural, like in good old times. I am so happy that we spend one of our last days in Vis with this beautiful human beings, the time flew away and two ours later we left, but we will definetly come back. Thank you very much ! ❤️

Tito’s Cave

4.2
(165)
Cave
Tito’s Cave, located near the mountain Hum, served as a strategic base for Yugoslav revolutionary Josep Broz Tito during World War II. It was used as a secret headquarters and naval base during the period of former Yugoslavia. The cave is accessible by car through steep roads and a climb of about 200 steps. It offers a well-preserved historical site with insignia and provides a great view of the Adriatic Sea.
It’s located below Hum and it’s formerly known as Ghost's Cave, after former Yugoslav President Tito was there to hide. In 1944 he spent time in this cave (equipped to provide a safe and comfortable stay for one of the most powerful people in the world at the time). Here he set out to meet Winston Churchill and Stalin. You can reach out the place nearby by car and then walk up the hill using the 275 stairs. It's definitely not very well signposted, there is no sign at all basically 😅 It’s a fascinating place.. you can easily jump back on that time and understand how the soldiers where protecting the cave entrance from the places around. The cave is exposed to sun so no lamps are needed inside. If you like history, I recommend you to pay it a visit… P.S. it’s a free place to visit, you pay only with the sweat walking up the stairs 🤣😉
Gianluca ( — Google review
A secluded place reachable by car (very steep roads). There is a little shoulder where you can park and leave your car. Then you have about 200 steps to reach the cave. The cave is in great condition, and also all the insignia there. There is great view above the Adriaric Sea, and you can see why Tito chose this place to live and work from here.
Ivan M — Google review
If you drive around it has sence to make a stop. There are signs at the “main” road Titova špilja, so follow them. Finaly no signs so search for a small parking place which ends by stone stairs. Up the stairs 10-15 minutes and you climb up to the cave. Actially there are 2 caves, so let´s go to see both.
Tomáš R — Google review
Well I think it’s a must if you are on Vis. Nothing special but with historical meaning.
Alisa T — Google review
We visited it on a tour with alturnature military tours from komiza. It's a bit of a hike up a stone path
Scrummybuns M — Google review
Very very amazing place from history of WW2 from the ex Yu teritory... supreme commander Tito has HQ here and from here he managed strategic decisions. Also, from airfield nearby he flied to Bari, Italy on meeting with prime minister Churchill. For history lovers these is must see place. Recommended!
Jan L — Google review
"It's okay." It's not a cave but a largish dent in the rock (actually two), but pretty nice view and easy to reach. Also close is the other "cave" (also not really a cave), where the comerades held their meetings. And Tito may or may not have been there, but that's a minor detail. The footpath starting here and going up to the Hum is really nice, though.
Péter G — Google review
Total waste of time. Do not waste your time or money going here. We climbed all the stairs and there are two caves. Caves is generous, more like small ledges under an overhanging cliff face. There’s some writing on the wall and that’s all you’re going to see. Unless this place has been tagged in the wrong location which going by the pictures it hasn’t then don’t bother coming here. I’ve added photos of the only things you’ll see to save you the trouble.

Konoba Senko is a highly recommended restaurant located on the way to Mala Travna. Many boats make a stop at this delightful eatery, which boasts a rating of 4.7/5 on Google Reviews. It's worth embarking on the adventurous journey to reach this hidden gem, as you will be rewarded with breathtaking views and access to a beautiful beach. The restaurant offers a unique dining experience by serving only the catch of the day, making each meal fresh and exciting.
Senko is a living legend. If you ever visit the island Vis in Croatia, you have to come here ❤️ Each dish or drink you try here is homemade. You can enjoy a swim in a cristal clear sea at a unique, hidden gem on the Adriatic sea.

Ignore the bad reviews, those people don't "get it". This was one of the best days of our trip. Swimming in between lunch courses, homemade wine and food all from the heart and made with love. Amazing vibes. Amazing people. Amazing location. Wow.
Jacin F — Google review
I highly recommend it! An authentic island tavern, the likes of which are harder and harder to find these days. Excellent local seafood and wine. The multi-course meal takes a couple of hours, the idea is to slow down, relax and enjoy as much as possible. Host Senko will be happy to share some rich life stories and spice up the day with his sparkling humour. A unique and unforgettable experience.
Branimir B — Google review
Amazing experience at this family-run restaurant. The freshest produce you can get and very friendly hosts. Between courses you can take a dive in the beautiful bay where parts of some meal come from. We had a big amount of appetisers (the great Dalmatian kind), a dogfish soup, and grilled swordfish as a main. The family who runs this konoba is very assertive and humorous and makes you feel like you’re the only group eating there. The amazing design of the wine bottled turned out to be a drawing of the host’s daughter, who even let my friend help him scale a fish with him. A must visit on Vis and even worth the visit from the mainland.
Thor S — Google review
The bay is serene – crystal-clear waters, a sense of seclusion, almost poetic. That illusion fades quickly once you notice the unfortunate trail of human disregard: abandoned diapers, empty bottles, and general waste that silently mars the natural beauty. As for Senko's Conoba, the experience is certainly memorable – though not in the way one might hope. No sign or information, no indication of what you're supposed to do. Are you to wait? Is a reservation required? Do you need a handwritten invitation? Who knows... One assumes telepathy is the preferred method of guest communication. The owner, meanwhile, appears wholly convinced he is running a MICHELIN-starred establishment of global prestige – just without the service or grace. We were thrown out with such an impressive cocktail of arrogance and aggression that it almost felt like performance art. Excellent seafood and wine can also be found elsewhere. Ideally served with a touch of basic human decency.
Ivy R — Google review
The way to Mala Travna is a pure adventure, but it is worth it because you will be greeted by a perfect view and a beach. We decided to round off the evening at Taverna Senko, the only restaurant in the small bay. They don't have a menu, serve what was caught that day. I was most surprised by the catfish soup and I can't wait to eat it again! The young lady who served us deserved the award of the friendliest waitress on the island. We felt really accepted! Recommend
Nikolina L — Google review
The most unique place. Dress code swimm costume. Food out of this world. Owner such a character called Robinson Crusoe of Vis. Sea 5 meters from restaurant. In between courses you can go for a dip. Everything about this place is unique. Can't wait next Tuesday to go again.
Blazenka Z — Google review
Being in this type of konoba is a special experience — there’s no menu; every day brings a new one depending on the catch of the day. The food was really, really good — from the cold starter, soup made from sea catfish (the best fish soup ever), grilled fish, and finally a sweet dessert. Between courses, you can take a swim in the sea. The homemade wine was very nice. The only complaints are the extremely high prices, especially considering you don’t receive any kind of receipt, let alone a fiscal one with tax. There’s also a lack of cleanliness in the konoba itself: half the tables are rotten, there’s an overgrown fig tree you have to push through to even reach the place, and the glasses and salt shaker were dirty — the salt shaker was so sticky it stuck to your hand. There was even a dead bug in the oil container.

Nestled in the heart of the stunning island of Vis, "Darko Agroturizam" offers an authentic culinary experience that is truly unforgettable. Run by Darko and his wife for over 35 years, this charming farm serves up delicious meals crafted from their own homegrown ingredients. Guests rave about the mouthwatering goat meat, fresh salads, warm bread, and delightful desserts—all prepared with love and care.
At Darko's it's done how it's supposed to; local produce, everything from meat to fish to wine. There is no fancy menu with lots of items, but the stuff that is, is top notch. As is the service and atmosphere and personal touch from people that have lived through the island's history. Recommended!
Fran R — Google review
Very sad to write but most of Agro-tourisms on island Vis have become synonym for fraud. 10-15 years ago Darko was a hidden, off the beaten path place where you could feel the old authentic Vis island village atmosphere, eat local dish called "peka" and drink home made wine. In the old days this was a must do and see thing on island Vis. The host Darko was happy to welcome you in his terrace as very few tourists knew about him and you felt almost like he is your friend. This was his side job, better said, a hobby and all the negative things like dirtiness, clumsy service, bad wine, average food etc... looked charming and easy to forgive. Now, a decade later, nothing changed. Besides this simple meal "Peka" and a glass of really bad wine cost 60€ per person with no starter, desert. Unfortunately the greed has taken it's part and all the charm this place had in the past is gone. The overpriced bill was, like always before, written on a piece of paper. So no tax, VAT, whatever the damn thing is called. It's a pity the bill ruined the experience because sometimes this fckn simple Peka dish can be really tasty. Better go to Konoba Dol. Darko is just another smiling tourist rip-off guy.

We were very lucky to find this place! For 35years Darko runs his farm in the middle of an island. The dinner was made and served by him and his wife. The goat meat, salad, warm bread, wine and desert were delicious! All made of self grow ingredients in that farm. It’s was unforgettable absolutely authentic experience and the price of 50euros per person for all this was totally worth it! Call few days in advance to book a dinner

There are no words to describe it. Darko is so lovely and does everything with love and smile! If you want to feel like home- go for it. If you want to have heaven in your mouth and belly- go for it. And money? Yes- it is not cheap- but it is more worth than the money you pay for it. Local experience. We really enjoyed our time there.
Ama J — Google review
Don’t go there. First of the price is outrageous for what you get. I paid 50€ for a glas of juice and an unknown meat and something looking like cuscus, and that’s isn’t even what I ordered, I ordered fish. The meat was in some type of sauce and the way it was served looked like prison food. The owner made me uncomfortable because he started talking about inappropriate things that I did not want to hear. Don’t go there it was a total scam and a unpleasant experience. I would give 0 stars if I could
Matei M — Google review
Best Peka ever. We had fish and lamp, both were amazing. The farmer/owner/Fisher/cook/waiter (all the same person) was very nice and helpful, explained everything. He said himself the octopus Peka is the best. Next time we give it a try. Depending on the season probably everything in the Peka is from himself. IMPORTANT: order Peka best the day before, but latest around lunchtime for the evening (it's slow cooking 😉)

Just skip it….definitely not worth it. Overpriced, not prepared with care and interest , not an enjoyable experience - only an overrated tourist trap. If you want good quality traditional food in a genuine setting- go for the restaurant at the crossroads instead.

We went here on the 4th of July. At the door we were told that they had just opened the day prior and so their menu was very limited, but we didn't mind. They let us sit and were not disappointed. The appetizer plate was anchovies, octopus salad and tuna creme with white bread and it was so delicious I could've eaten the entire plate myself. Similarly our main courses (grilled chicken and tuna with vegetable sauce) were wonderful, juicy and cooked to perfection. If I come back to Vis one day, I'll come here again <3

This nice little cute restaurant is so authentic. We were lucky to have our rehearsal dinner here before the day of our wedding. Mario, their manager organized a five star dinner for us including a beautiful authentic traditional Croatian live music with the owner playing for us. We really felt special and our guests were also amazed with everything. Thank you Mario for going above and beyond to make our wedding week so special 🙏

We did not manage to take the pictures as we were very hungry, however, we ordered 2 beefsteaks, one chicken fillet, soup and tuna pate. Beefsteaks were completely cool, chicken was solid. Then we politely asked the waitress to give us the properly cooked food, still we received the average meal. In the end we paid too much for a second-class food. To be realistic, service was ok, atmosphere is really nice, however we did not come at the restaurant to wonder around but to eat.

8 of us booked a table and transfer (a van in our case) to the restaurant. Transfer is being paid with the diner bill and the price is totally fine. We were lucky to be only guests (September) so the beautiful garden was all ours. Host were really nice and pleasent. Most importantly, food and wine were amazing! Pancakes as a desert are my personal recommendation.

On a rainy day in Vis whilst driving around the countryside we came accross this gem. Beautiful rustic interior with a touch of elegance. Host very welcoming. To start we were given samples of pestos which the kitchen prepares and are available at their shop in town. They were all delicious. We ordered the piratestew with octopus which was a hearty dish. Delicious! Highly recommended. Definately worth a short drive from Vis. A must visit when visiting Vis.

Konoba Barba is a popular dinner spot known for its traditional Croatian dish called Peka, which features slow-cooked octopus, fish, or lamb with vegetables that takes four hours to prepare. Visitors have praised the quick and delicious service of fish and sides, as well as the pleasant house wine. The attentive and friendly staff contribute to a delightful dining experience in a dreamy ambiance with a stunning sea view from the terrace.
Amazingly fresh and delicious seafood, wonderful views and an extremely polite waiter. Portions were much bigger than usual, we ended up eating more than we normally would. They charge per kg by the way so I understand why portions are such. I still highly recommend to visit this place. The quality of food is impeccable.
Matea G — Google review
I rarely leave reviews, but this meal was so shockingly bad I feel compelled to warn others. I ordered the lamb and ribeye expecting at least a basic level of quality, but both were borderline inedible. The lamb was dry, flavorless, and somehow managed to be both overcooked and rubbery. It had a gamey aftertaste that made me question its freshness. As for the ribeye — I don’t even know where to begin. It was tough, under-seasoned, and arrived at the table lukewarm. There was no sear, no richness — just a bland, chewy mess that tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for hours. To make matters worse, the staff didn’t seem to care. When we politely mentioned the issue, we were met with a shrug and no offer to fix it or replace the food. For the price point, this was beyond unacceptable. There are plenty of other restaurants that actually know how to cook meat — do yourself a favor and go to one of them. I won’t be back.

Nice view fish restaurant that oversees Komiža harbour. Food solid, staff pleasant. Domestic bread and good olive oil brings and extra advantage to this place.

Had dinner at Konoba Bara and it was a 10/10 experience. I had the grilled seabass and squids – both were outstanding. The seabass was perfectly grilled: crispy skin, juicy and meaty inside, and beautifully filleted by the staff at the table. The grilled squids were full of flavor, just the right amount of smokiness to bring out their natural taste. Paired it with their house red wine – surprisingly, it worked even better with the fish than a white would. Excellent service, great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

A bit late with this review..Was here in 2019, sailing on all the different Islands, stopping at vis to see Blue cave the next day. We loved the food, the local Vogava white wine, the view and the service. So much than when returning to Vis 5 years later we had to look up pictures to find name of restaurant. Unfortunately we where at wrong harbour and restaurant was on oppsite side of Vis Island, so we could not visit. Still: When you remember the restaurant 6 years later and I travel to 5-10 countries a year its worth a review

Wallking through Komiža six of us came across Konoba Barba. We had no plans and thought we would try them out. We were seated on the terrace with a spectacular view of the harbor. We discussed dinner options with our waiter and he showed us some fresh fish (like caught that day!) to see if we were interested. OMG! We choose both the Sea Bass and Scorpian Fish. We asked if he could suggested sides - he did, as well as wines to pair with our meal - again he did. He asked if we might be interested in Lobster - why not! Wow, the wines were fantastic - all Croatian, and the fish was hands down the best Sea Bass I've ever had. As for the Scorpian Fish - I've never had it, but it too was fantastic. The Lobster was also great, with the sauce served with it the star of the show. We had an outstanding meal, wines, and service. Try them, your taste buds will thank you.

Great outdoor seating with a beautiful view! Good service. We had the catch of the day which was very good, a nice snapper that was fresh and sweet paired with grilled veggies (eggplant could be grilled a bit longer) and French fries (were hollow so wouldn’t recommend). Overall very good and loved the atmosphere!
Vedant M — Google review
We were lead into ordering things that we actually weren’t up to, instead of asking us first. Some things we resisted but the main course not and it ended up in a grilled fish which actually didn’t taste much at all. The sides, such as rice and grilled veggies were really small portions. Afterwards the waiter was sure to make us know that tips were not included when paying with credit card, which is even more annoying considering that he had not even offered us to see the dessert menu. On the positive side it is a really nice setting next to water with a nice view.

Bejbi Bar is a popular spot located right on the seafront in Vis town, where tourists and locals gather to enjoy drinks and cocktails. The bar offers a great atmosphere with summer vibes, live music, and a quality DJ during the summer months. Visitors can relax on the terrace and enjoy stunning sunset views. While it's close to the ferry, this doesn't pose an issue during nighttime hours. The bar provides good service with affordable drinks and delicious coffee.

Lovely place to drink the night away, good service and cheap drinks. My only complaint is they have a house dog, it wasn't a sausage dog so my wife wouldn't allow me to stroke it. Would definitely be allowed to go back if it had a sausage dog.

If you find yourself in Vis, this is the place to chill. Choice of music is great, summer vibes and quality DJ, and during summer you can hear a lot of live band play. The only downside is the proximity of the ferry, but in the night hours, that is present a problem.

Nautica Vis Diving Center

Diving center
Nautica Vis Diving Center is a fantastic place with friendly and helpful staff. Experienced divers can enjoy top-class diving on deep wrecks, caves, and swim throughs, while beginners can take basic dive courses with attentive and fun instructors. The center offers discovery dives for those looking to experience diving for the first time. Visitors appreciate the professional, accommodating, and friendly approach of the team at Nautica Vis Diving Center.
If you are staying in the area and want to try diving or you are already a certified diver Nautica guys can take you to incredible sites around the island. Very professional and well organised.
Piotr L — Google review
I dived with this center for two days at the beginning of September as an experienced diver. Positives: – All dives are clearly planned a day in advance, with a board describing the next day’s schedule and the special features of each dive site. – Good quality equipment. – I really enjoyed the dive sites Nova Pošta and Volici — rich marine life, and at Nova Pošta two amazing tunnels that were truly unforgettable. The boat trip is light and pleasant. – This dive center organizes regular night dives once a week, unlike many others that don’t guarantee them. This was one of the main reasons I chose them. Negatives: – Communication is mostly in Polish. You constantly keep reminding them you don’t speak Polish. On the first day I wasn’t even called to the briefing; it was held entirely in Polish, and when I asked for an English translation one of the divers translated instead of the instructor. – Large crowds, a lot of hustle and waiting, staff and guides seemed very busy, didn’t greet or introduce themselves, and overall it didn’t feel very welcoming. – Teti and Vassilios wrecks are reached from Komiža. Because of logistics, two 35-minute dives took from 12:30 to 20:00. Marine life there was sparse and the wrecks could only be viewed from the outside. In my opinion, not worth it. – The center has a mandatory check dive (€50) even for experienced divers — I had dived just two days before. – When booking, I waited a long time for replies. The day before my booked date I wasn’t told when to arrive, and they didn’t answer emails or the main WhatsApp until I dug through my old messages to find the number they answer on Sundays. – You can only book dives with a deposit. Overall, I had two dive days: one not very successful, and the second much better with great guides Ola and Sana, who explained everything in English and were very friendly, plus we had fantastic dive sites. So diving here depends a lot on which team you get and which sites you’re assigned. The underwater world around Vis is wonderful regardless, and despite the mixed experience I still recommend diving on island.

Had the most amazing experience with Nautica Dive Center. Eweline (dive instructior) was very very patient and kind. All staff is really nice and makes you feel comfortable - they also follow all safety rules and provide nearly brand new equipment. Definitely want to come back for more war season.

Visited the centre for a discovery dive for my partner, after visiting a few others & not getting the right feel / approach (I’ve dived all over the world, spent a lot of time in a few centres & appreciate the ‘right’ approach for me!). The team were professional, accommodating, friendly & my partner loved his first dive straight off the centre. They were also very quick to turn around & respond, as we were very last minute. Thanks all 👍🏻

If you're planning a trip to the stunning island of Vis in Croatia, look no further than Tourist Agency Teuta for an unforgettable experience. This agency offers a fantastic range of rental options, including cars, scooters, and e-bikes that allow you to explore the island's hidden gems—think secluded coves and picturesque vineyards. For those interested in history, their Military Tour is a must-do!
We arrived in Vis last sunday March the 30th. All rentals were still closed, Teuta included, but after a call to the posted number the owner interrupted his lunch to bring us a scooter for the day. We were his first rentals of the year. He quickly showed us a great route to take around the island and we had a blast riding around, seeing the sights (the submarine base was impressive), beaches and of course Vis and Komiža as well. He also gave us an upgrade to a 200cc scooter (I have my motorcycle license) and his phone number should anything come up. All in all a great experience, great service and would 100% recommend!

On Wednesday we did the around the island boat tour. We were lucky to find such a nice shared group, all were super kind. The bays we went to were very pretty, some secluded ones were super quiet too. Blue cave was super busy and felt rushes, but this is organised by the Blue cave people and not Teuta. Our captain Ivan is a true ambassador of the island and shared a lot of interesting facts with us. Tour ran smoothly and felt personal as Ivan took care of the needs and preferences of all guests.

We had an amazing experience in Vis. We have travelled the islands around Croaria and this was by far the best. We hired mopeds from Agency Teutu and dealt with Chiara who was a brilliant advocate for every tourist experience - helpful, informed and acted as a tourist guide, giving us advice on where to visit, eat and drink as well as the bikes. I would highly recommend hiring mopeds or electric bikes and that will allow you to visit every location as there is one main road that goes around the Island, which is in excellent t condition. A brilliant place to visit with stunning mountain views beautiful beeches and excellent tourist advice. Well done Vis from your friends in Ireland.

Absolutely fantastic dinner experience at Pojoda! We had an amazing evening here, the food was simply outstanding. I had the tuna tartare, which was incredibly fresh and full of flavour. My partner started with a fish appetizer, also delicious and perfectly prepared. The highlight for us was the spaghetti with lobster, absolutely divine. Everything we tried was exceptionally well cooked and full of taste. I also had a glass of Vugava, a local white wine from the island of Vis which was a real discovery! Elegant, fresh, and perfectly paired with the seafood. Excellent value for money as well. The service was super friendly and welcoming, and the whole atmosphere was relaxed and authentic. We were lucky to get a table late in the evening without a reservation, but I’d highly recommend booking in advance, especially during summer. Great location and food. We had the Greek salad, chevap with bread, and another one with fries. We had a good evening here last night. We accidentally left my sunglasses there. I called last night to check and they confirmed they had them. I returned this morning to collect them. The owner was the rudest individual I have ever encountered. He claimed not to know about the sunglasses and told us to get out. He would look for where one of his staff had left them and was totally disinterested. Eventually after 30 min and begging another person, we found them. A great location, unfortunately ruined but an obnoxious owner. Won’t be back!

We sat for coffee before the ferry in the morning. Paid the bill and the waitress 'forgot' to give us the change back. When I asked for my change, she acted as if it were by accident, but it was an incredibly insincere apology, and felt like it was done on purpose. Be careful.

Restaurant Val 2.0 on the island of Vis is known for its commitment to using locally sourced and freshly caught ingredients, ensuring traceability and promoting ethical practices. The restaurant aims to preserve the tradition of incorporating these authentic flavors into their cuisine while being responsible towards the environment and local communities. While some visitors have noted areas for improvement in terms of service and pricing, many others have raved about their incredible dining experiences at Val 2.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Val 2.0, and it was an experience that far exceeded my expectations. From the moment I stepped through the door, I knew I was in for a treat. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a coastal charm that perfectly set the tone for a seafood feast. The menu is a seafood lover's dream, offering an impressive selection of fresh. I started with the shrimps, which were incredibly fresh. For the main course, we had “šampjer”, and it was nothing short of perfection. The fish was grilled to absolute perfection. The side dishes were equally delightful. The service was top-notch as well. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of excellent. In short, Val 2.0 is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates high-quality seafood. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their fantastic offerings!

The terrace at “Val2.0” is simply stunning, offering a beautiful and relaxing setting for any meal. The staff is exceptionally welcoming and attentive, making every visit a pleasure. The menu impresses with a fantastic selection of dishes, and the fish is absolutely spectacular—always fresh, perfectly prepared, and bursting with flavor. Every detail, from the ambiance to the food and service, makes “Val2.0” a truly outstanding dining destination. Highly recommended!

We have been going to Vis for many years and this year we wanted to try this famous restaurant on Vis. And it is an understatement to say that we are delighted. First row to the sea, palm trees, service.. Last year the owner changed and you can see serious progress and effort put in it because we went there 4 years ago and it was so so. We had tuna tartare for a starter, then fresh fish and pancakes for the end. The food is 10/10. You can see that they have an excellent chef. We drank their homemade wine. The prices are normal and even compared to other things on Vis they are below average. Every recommendation and we will definitely come back!

I've visited restaurant Val recently and it was an amazing experience that I hope to repeat soon. Everything from the ambient, service, personel, and especially food, deserves 5 stars. We ate traditional Dalmatian cuisine and it is by far one of the best restaurant on Croatian coast, and best on the islands, we've visited so far. Highly recommended!

Tatare steak was amazing! Also, for main course, veal and lamb were amazing, cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! That’s my recommendation! On the other hand, pasta was not that good. It was plain and a bit tasteless. House white wine was also really good so i would recommend that too. All in all worth visiting and having dinner here!

Really nice food at Val 2.0. Their monkfish dish was really nice and fresh. The risotto was also really creamy and tasty, nice big portion. Our tuna tartare appetizer was alright, could have gone without it. But overall, great service, good wines, and good Food!

Excellent food, the best lobster ever. Really pleasant atmosphere and a beautiful setting. Big compliments to the owners for having such a great team. The waiters were so friendly and made us feel completely at home!

We wanted to try this restaurant on Vis because it was the first one on Tripadvisor. And we can see why. It was 5/5… All the tables are by the sea and the terrace under the palm trees is amazing. We had tuna tartare for a starter, then fresh fish and daily dessert for the end. The food rating is 10/10. You can see that the food is fresh and the chef is excellent. Alex waiter was good and funny. The prices are completely okay and we were really satisfied. Every recommendation and we will definitely come back!

When you find yourself in the charming town of Vis, make sure to stop by Nona Darinka, a delightful family-run restaurant that radiates warmth and passion through its food and service. The menu may be simple, but each dish is crafted with care; their tortellini and chicken come highly recommended. What truly sets Nona Darinka apart is its enchanting atmosphere—dine amidst beautiful decor that tells stories of history or enjoy your meal on the terrace surrounded by ancient stone walls.
If you are in Vis, you must visit this restaurant. It's a family business and you can feel the love and pride that goes into the food and the service. We had tortellini and also chicken, and would recommend both. The prices are on a par with others in the area, but the atmosphere and decoration of Nona Darinka stands it apart from the rest.

We ordered that day's special, which was spaghetti with 2 types of sea shells and shrimp, and half liter of wine. We got the same amount of wine and water in small jugs and a glass of ice, which melted almost immediately. Whenever we tried to get the waiters' attention to bring us more water and ice, we were ignored or forgotten about. This continued for almost 2 hours until we finally got our food. I can't describe the immense disappointment I felt when I ate that first bite, after starving for almost 2 hours and watching everybody else get their food. The spaghetti was dry and plain. No sauce, no nothing. They could've at least tossed it on some butter and herbs over heat to make it taste like something. Half of the sea shells were empty. We got 2 shrimp and a head from the third one. Nothing about this dish required more than an hour to be prepared or deserved 120 kn that we were charged for it. I just want to make clear that I'm not blaming the waiters for not bringing us water, they were constantly running around serving people and they clearly needed one more worker. Don't go to this restaurant. The food is substandard, the waiters are overworked and the prices are over the top.

Don't waste your time and money. The food is pricey (like everything in Vis) but it's not worth it. Me and my friend waited for more than one and a half hour for their daily special - spaghetti with schrimp and sea shells. The restaurant is clearly understaffed. There were only 2 waiters and the local has interior on two floors and exterior in 2 separate parts of the street. The waiters were running around all the time and still haven't managed to keep up with the orders (the bad service wasn't their fault, they were doing their best, but the restaurant definitely needs 1-2 more waiters!). When the food finally arrived it was dissapointing. There was literally no sauce. It was plain store-bought spaghetti with 2 schrimps, 1 schrimp head (??) and a few sea shells (some were empty). No flavours, no souce, no spices. It costed around 110 kuna per plate. Would not recommend.

They did have tables free - but, because we were a group with kids it was not possible! Miserable service!
Diana Z — Google review
Waited way more than an hour for dinner, which was served 20.10. The excuse was that they had to make coal first, and we were the first customers ordering stuff for that. Problem is that we were never told that our order would take that long and would never have ordered this, as we had children with us.. The fish was OK, but so less side that we were still hungry afterwards..

Had a beautiful meal here. Lovely little authentic restaurant with simple menu. Pasta was very tasty and pizza baked bread delicious. Set down a gorgeous lane way in Vis. Restaurant is quaint with lane way, inside and upstairs dining area. Would definitely go back

We sat down at approximately 7:40 and ordered food around 7:50 PM. We waited until 9:00 PM asking the server three times if our food was on the way. At that point he comes out and tells us we never actually ordered anything. So we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to be told our order had not been submitted. Walked away and got some fast food, starving.

The family winery is perfect. Beautiful and comforting. So friendly! We did the tasting and very pleasant wines. Enjoyed them all and preferred the white and red. We really enjoyed the visit. Thank you.

It is a perfect way to end a day after visiting the island and enjoying the beach. Calm, well maintained, and absolutely charming winery. The wine was delicious, we got the full degustation, which consisted of a white, rose, red and lasty a dessert wine, all of which seemed to only get better. The owner was super kind and generous, which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. We tried a little bit of olive oil as well, which was just as good as the wine. A perfect visit to end a 3-day trip on the magnificent island of Vis. Thank you again for having us!

Rustic and unique, this winery offers more than just great wine. It offers a glimpse into the local culture, the relaxed atmosphere of the island and, if you are lucky to have time to speak with Mario, you will feel the history of the winery come alive. After the tasting, we walked through the garden to visit where the wine is made, seeing the tools to bottle and cork the wine. It was one of best experiences in Croatia

There is nothing original I could add that hasn’t already been said below in other reviews. I can only echo the sentiment shared by another not to go here, but to RUN here! We decided to stop in here after the beach on our way back to Kamize, for an authentic wine tasting experience. We got exactly what we were hoping for. We were immediately greeted by Mario, who introduced himself as a winemaker. He was polite and hospitable and invited us a choice of places to sit. Long story short, we had a wonderful afternoon tasting Mario’s selection of wines and enjoying his generosity, authenticity and passion. He shared his knowledge of wine and local history. We were wonderfully comfortable in the afternoon sun sitting in garden. The offering is simple but complete and well thought through, and Mario’s generosity was the highlight of the experience. He even offered to show us the cellar where he and his wife produce the wine. I highly recommend an afternoon visit without a time limit to visit and enjoy this place. My favourite was the dessert wine - delicious!

We had a wonderful tasting at Vidovic Family Winery! We (a group of 5) chose to do the tasting of all 4 of the wines which the family produce. Included was snacks to go with the wines and we got a wonderful presentation of the history of the wineyard and the wines. Would recommend this to everyone - lovely setting, wine and people!

Amazing place, almost unknown for the average tourist who visits Vis. Ancient Roman baths should be better presented since it is one of the oldest buildings on the island and it displays a largr masterpiece of mosaic art. Truly a must-see location to vidit. The Church of St. Jerome, situated on the picturesque Prirovo peninsula in Vis, holds historical significance as it was built by Conventual Franciscans at the beginning of the 16th century. The church is located near the stunning Vis cemetery and offers a serene atmosphere for visitors to explore. While some feel that the interior could benefit from renovation, many appreciate its tranquil ambiance and recommend a visit when in Vis.

Museum
The Archeological Museum Vis is a fascinating historic attraction located within fortifications that reflect the Habsburg presence in the mid-1800s. It houses significant archeological discoveries dating back to 4000 BC, from the time when Dionysus the Elder established his colony in the town. One of its notable exhibits is the bronze head of Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt.
So much history here... Too bad that the part on the history under the Italian occupation is written only in Croatian.

It's a little hidden, but you will see pieces of the Island history that you can't see in other places, information about the Greek civilization, the local pottery and costumes . The building is a old Fort founded in 1830. Later part was used a hospital. The museum entrance is 20kn. Take a time and enjoy this archeological experience.

Nestled in the heart of Vis, Fields of Grace Vineyards offers a unique culinary adventure that stands out from the typical Dalmatian dining scene. Just 4 km from the town of Vis, this charming estate features a delightful restaurant where guests can immerse themselves in an innovative gastronomic experience. The venue boasts a stunning stone house with a spacious terrace surrounded by lush Mediterranean herb gardens.
Great Food Off The Beaten Path The group wanted to get Asian food after a few days of traveling through Croatia. I happened to stumble upon this restaurant via Trip Advisor and Google Maps. After reading Jack's resume on their website, I knew this was going to exceed expectations. The restaurant is on a beautiful, quaint vineyard in the hills of Vis. It is about a 10 minute taxi from the harbor. Jack was also responsive while emailing for reservations. Pork & Shrimp Wontons Juicy and in a soy ginger sauce. Very similar to what you would get in the US. Tiger Shrimp Salad Well cooked large shrimp. The dressing is not overly sweet or sour. I still would have liked it more sweet & sour but he did comment he adjusted all his dishes to the Croatian taste. Overall, crisp and refreshing. Fish Tom Yum Soup and Clay Pot Rice Nice, hearty, and creamy. Had multiple types of fish. Rice was fluffy and well cooked. Great main dish and everyone went in for more. Apple Panna Cotta Very nice layering. Perfect sweetness and tartness. The pre fixe also came with 3 types of wine that the Jack and Lin make. While not full bodied, the lightness and fruit notes made for a pleasant drink. Easily crushable and will creep up on you. 8 euros a bottle if you want to buy more and take home. They were very generous with the bottles and they included about 15 bottles of wine for 11 people. It was a very intimate experience as there was only another Croatian couple at the restaurant. Jack and Lin very communicative with every wine and dish. We also all conversed throughout the meal with them, getting to know them very well. This restaurant could very well be labeled a Michelin Bib Gourmand if the judges ever venture to the islands of Croatia. Definitely worth a visit.
Alex T — Google review
Jack and Lin's property is absolutely stunning. The moment we stepped onto the property we were met with the scent of lavender and rosemary, with bees buzzing around to pollinate everything and butterflies floating everywhere. They also have several friendly winery cats. The wine is lovely and Jack & Lin make excellent hosts (and company). They put so much love and care into their winery, the time that my husband and I got to spend there will not be forgotten.

Had a fantastic time at Fields of Grace! Very cute and nice location with a very beautiful vineyard and garden. It was nice having some Asian food on this trip and Jack did very well with the tofu skin wraps, the shrimp sweet and chili coconut cream, and a tom yum chicken curry. The wine pairings went very well and especially loved the welschriesling. Defo recommend to visit the vineyard and having dinner here, Lin and Jack are a great duo and had nice hospitality.

On our 3-week trip around Europe, this ended up being the most memorable meal of the whole trip. The food was incredible — comforting, flavorful Asian dishes that were just perfect. Jack and Lin, the owners, are so warm and welcoming and really made the experience special. The wines were just as good — we loved them so much we bought a case to take with us. The winery is gorgeous too. Highly recommend if you’re visiting Vis. Just a heads up: it’s cash only.
Baylee Z — Google review
Great food and wine, wonderful service. The hosts are brilliant and really put thought and care into their food and the presentation. The ambiance is calm, the restaurant is on their land, surrounded by nature and it's very relaxing and private. You are free to enjoy the food at a leisurely pace, every course accompanied by their excellent wine. We had a really nice evening
Tina T — Google review
The atmosphere was warm and lively, with about 20 guests sharing the space. It struck a great balance between intimate and social. We ended up chatting with a mix of locals and tourists, which added a lot to the experience. I don’t drink, but my wife was very happy with the host’s selection of three wines from his own vineyard, each poured with a bit of backstory. The multi-course dinner was creative and well-executed, blending Dalmatian and Asian influences in a way that felt both thoughtful and satisfying. We started with a delicate tofu skin roll, followed by a spicy corn soup with shrimp and cod, then curry chicken thighs, and ended on a bright note with an orange cake for dessert. Every dish had its own character (and back story) and was clearly made with love and care. The hosts were very friendly and attentive and told us a bit about everything that we were eating and drinking and were more than happy to answer any of our questions. Their evident enthusiasm and openness really elevated the experience. Do keep in mind that it can get cool in the evening, so a light sweater is a smart call. Overall, this is a place that brings together great food, interesting people, and a beautiful setting. We’ll definitely be back.
Ljubo L — Google review
Fields of Grace definitely does it’s name justice. From the get go you are welcomed by the lavender and rosemary scents from the garden on your way to the restaurant. You are welcomed by Lin and Jaksa, the hosts. The wine tasting dinner was an amazing experience, with different food from the Asian cuisine, paired with locally produced wine by Lin and Jaksa. An interesting combination, that works out great! Lin and Jaksa are interesting, welcoming people that will make time to chat to everyone whilist hosting. Make sure not to miss out during your visit to Vis!
Ilona G — Google review
Such a beautiful location, the outside dining area is set between roses and rosemary and their vineyard. It's casually charming and feels relaxed and welcoming, but also carefully considered. Dinner was several courses, with each dish introduced through a personal story that reflected the hosts’ roots in China and Croatia. Local ingredients from their garden and the sea were blended with Chinese influences in a way that felt balanced and seamless. The wines, all from their vineyard, had a distinct character and paired well with the food. Even though they were full and the hosts were very attentive and efficient, the evening never felt rushed. We ended up chatting quite a bit with the super friendly hosts and the other guests, which added to the relaxed, communal feel. All in all, it was a very memorable evening. Not just because of the food and wine, which were excellent, but because of the warmth, storytelling, and atmosphere. What a special place!

Taxi boat & Rent a boat "Green Cave"

Water sports equipment rental service
If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable experience on the waters of Vis, consider visiting the Green Cave. This lesser-known gem offers a majestic and mesmerizing sight as sunlight shines into the cave, creating stunning colors. You can reach this natural wonder by taxi boat or rent a boat to explore at your own pace. Once there, you can take a dinghy off the main boat to enter the darkened cove and even go for a chilly swim.
Ana Maria is the girl sitting at the booth, and she is wonderful. Her giving, kind spirit and her efforts to go out of the way to make things possible is second to nobody! This taxi to Blue Lagoon is also something you simply have to do—the lagoon is stunning, the captain is kind and knowledgable and it’s a perfect day trip to further unwind. Ana is an absolute gem and we couldn’t recommend her and this taxi service/beach/rentals more. Hvala Puno, friends.

A pleasant garden under a large palm tree right by the shore. Exceptionally friendly service staff, a wonderful location, and good food. Considering all this, the prices are high, but this isn’t a place you would visit every day. Or perhaps you would, if you want to spoil your soul🫠.

Lovely sunset, kind service, stylish location. The Longdrink? Mainly a giant ice monolith with a splash of actual drink. Less refreshment, more refrigeration.
Tim B — Google review
Never again Atmosphere is awesome, but that is it. Cocktails are way too expensive, total rip off. I used to come there earlier, prices were bit higher, still acceptable. Cocktails were good. But this year prices are enormous and cocktails are bellow average

Such an idillic place! We stopped on Vis island during our organized boattrip and we are very glad we found this spot. Food, juices and icecoffee are really good. All fresh. And the location is amazing.

Simply the best place to while away the hours on Vis, whether it's with a coffee, brunch or something stronger or, if you want to take our approach, all three! Incredible views, lovely staff, delicious food and drinks. This is my happy place!
Kat — Google review
If you are looking for a place for brunch or sunset drinks this is it. It turned out to be our favourite place to visit on faily bases. Relaxed atmosphere, great service, food and cocktails. Anja and Nikola made this place even more amazing with their consistent smiles and amazing service. Would love to be back

Awesome little gem with an amazing setting and view. Waiter was a legend helped provide us with some insight on some good dinner spots. Drinks were also great!
Reece W — Google review
Two mornings in a row we came looking for breakfast they didn't have due to "exceptional" situations. I understand things can happen, but they didn't have any notice or anything, zero transparency. Every other person here came expecting having something to eat, so not a nice experience at all

Fast food restaurant
Nestled on the stunning island of Vis, Fast Food Porat is a culinary gem that stands out for its delicious offerings and welcoming atmosphere. Located near the picturesque sandy beach of Porat, which was recognized by The Irish Times as one of the world's most beautiful beaches in 2011, this eatery is perfect for those seeking a quick yet satisfying meal after exploring nearby attractions like the Blue Cave and Church of St. Silvestar.
Took the food as takeout to ferry and enjoyed it there. The employees took care to insulate and package everything so it does not cool down. Good old svhool fast food, no fancy brioches or caranelized onions. Really nice place to eat fast.
Bojan B — Google review
The best fast food on the island Vis. Both in terms of price and quality. If I have to compare freshly baked čevapčiči with defrosted fish in a pricey restaurant, Porat wins! All praise to the girls who serve! Too bad, I was so hungry that there is no photo of the food, because we ate it on a nearby bench overlooking the sea!

Incredible, great portion size and very tasty

This place should be called "slow averge cold food" Average food, some of it cold. 30 minutes wait, it's not fast food. Appalling service, they kept my money and said it was my fault the chips were cold. Avoid unless you like cold chips, losing money standing around waiting for average burgers and awful service.

The best late night food run by the sweetest ladies!
Patrick W — Google review
A hidden gem of a place, for 30 kn, you get a huge cheeseburger with fresh ingredients, prepared right in front of you by lovely staff members. Beats McDonald's every single day!
Hans C — Google review
Amazing food, value, and service! I got a chicken sandwich and it was 1/3 the price as the burger I got next door and tasted 3 times better! The ladies working here are so sweet!
Hanzhi G — Google review
Great place! Huge portions prepared upon order. They cook right in front of you. Food is fresh, very tasty, and very reasonably priced. 70 kn for ćevapi, giant hamburger, and french fries. We ate there multiple times because it was so good. Would definitely recommend for a quick meal in Vis!

Kavana Riva is a charming spot located near the ferry pier, with a well-stocked supermarket nearby. The area boasts a long line of cafes and bars along the Riva, offering a wonderful ambiance by the sea. Visitors can enjoy excellent food served by helpful and friendly staff at reasonable prices. The waterfront view is delightful, and guests can expect great service from waitstaff like Melissa, who adds to the enjoyable experience with her friendly demeanor and local insights.
Wonderful ambience, by the sea, excellent food, very helpful, nice and friendly waiter. Considering the effort and quality, the prices are very reasonable. Great recommendation.
Duda K — Google review
We had a great experience at Kavana Riva. We were mostly looking to eat the local lamb speciality dish, which we found available here. Firstly, the staff were super warm and welcoming, which we very much appreciated. It was also suggested to us to try a soup - forgot the exact name of the dish - but it was extremely tasty (it was a red soup which included broad beans). The lamb was fantastic, cooked so differently to how we're used to it. Well done to the chefs - restaurant is recommended!

So good, we went here for our last two nights of our four nights in Vis, probably would have went every night if we tried it earlier. The meat is amazing quality, cooked perfectly. We recommend trying the meat platter, lamb or black Angus steak. The staff are exceptional. Shout out to Alan and Melissa (great drink recomdations, we have a bottle or two for at home) We will definitely be returning when we come back to Vis.

Wonderful water front view , great food and most friendly waitress Melissa ! She used to live in the US and we thoroughly enjoyed our chat

Very well located, right at the mooring places so it is excellent for sailing vessels. The breakfast was really good but a bit expensive and they did not accept card. The waitress was not particularly in a good mood, but service was fast.

They do not like people of color here. I was greeted AFTER an older white gentleman even though I sat down before him. She literally walked past me and ignored me until I locked eyes with her…and me and him were the only people out there. I shoulda left right then. Then I got a drink, she brought it to me with the check even tho I was sitting at the table to eat. Sign number 2 that I shoulda left. Then she asked “can I help you” and I’m like yes I want food. I ordered the bacon burger. It was good. Then when I went to leave she goes, your original check and this one is 24€, which it should’ve only been 19, and she shrugs her shoulders and said, “you still could have drank it if we spooned out the bee” so you have to pay for it. She said she would ask the manager and he seemed very rude an dismissive and didn’t even come over and speak to me, just kept drinking and smoking cigs at the outside bar. Unacceptable customer service and overpriced basic food. This whole island seems to have an issue with dark skinned people because they were ALL giving me nasty looks.

Excellent breakfast, ate the dalmatian eggs two times in a row, excellent size and nice mix of flavours for a very affordable price (6,5 euros)

Nestled on the enchanting island of Vis, KONOBA MAGIĆ VIS is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic homemade cuisine. This charming family tavern offers a delightful culinary experience with traditional dishes like lamb and octopus cooked under a bell (peka), paired perfectly with local wines from nearby vineyards. The journey to this hidden gem, whether by sea or through a scenic 7-kilometer drive from the town of Vis, adds to its allure.
The most beautiful two evenings, having food and wine and cake here. The most tasty food I have ever experienced, best wine and beautiful special luxury environment.
Jordan E — Google review
A magical experience from the start. Being so isolated in the middle of the remote island has awakened a feeling of detachment from the world so deep it was healing and much needed for me. Barely having internet access was a nice bonus. This place is special and justifies the high price with great food, solid local wine and a great secluded location in the middle of a vineyard. If you want fast food, high speed internet, cheap wine, crowded places or bang for the buck, then this place is NOT for you. Also, you are in the field surrounded by nature so be careful of wasps and other bugs because they live there, obviously.
Matej P — Google review
Seriously good. Fantastic wine. Food was simple and outstanding. Service amazing friendly. Can’t recommend this winery restaurant enough. It’s outside the town but well worth the drive or taxi ride. Magical evening for sure.

Best peka I’ve ever had, absolutely delicious, a must go if you’re on Vis. Beautiful atmosphere and very friendly and kind staff. Big thumbs up for the host who made us a homemade focaccia to finish up the peka.
Dorian96 — Google review
Amazing octopus peka! You have to make a reservation. Soothing view in the middle of the vineyard with local products only.
Bruno O — Google review
The octopus cooked under the bell was absolutely amazing, with a portion more than big enough for two. The starter was delicious as well. Great service and a lovely atmosphere. We’ll be telling our friends about this place! Price was ok as well.
