Nestled on 171 acres near one of California's oldest vineyards, Castello di Amorosa is a remarkable 13th-century-style Tuscan castle in Napa Valley. The castle, built by fourth-generation winemaker Dario Sattui, boasts over 100 rooms and features authentic medieval architecture with a moat, drawbridge, torture chamber, and defensive towers.
What an incredible experience at Castello di Amorosa! 🏰🍷 From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like royalty. The castle itself is breathtaking — every hallway, courtyard, and tower feels like stepping into a piece of Tuscany right here in Napa Valley. Our wine tasting was the highlight — beautifully guided, perfectly paced, and full of fascinating stories about the winemaking process. Each wine was unique and delicious, and our host did an amazing job helping us discover new favorites. The tour of the castle added so much to the experience — the architecture, the underground cellars, the medieval-style great hall, even the dungeon — all meticulously detailed and authentic. We ended the visit with a few bottles to take home and some stunning photos from the terrace overlooking the vineyards. 🌿🍇 If you’re visiting Napa, Castello di Amorosa is an absolute must — a perfect blend of history, beauty, and exceptional wine. My husband loves their red wines while I love their sweet wines 😍 We bought 23 cases of wines for our wedding ❤️ the best place to taste wine ever🍷✨ Our favorite wines: La Fantasia, Il Passito, Il Barone, Vermentino,

We had an absolutely amazing experience at this winery! My husband and I joined the tour on October 16, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Our guide, Gonzalo was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He shared so many great wine recommendations and stories that made the whole experience both educational and fun. We loved every tasting and ended up buying bunch of wines and joining the wine club because the wines were just that good! Thank you for creating such wonderful memories for us — we can’t wait to come back again someday. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

A fairytale winery come to life! Touring Castello di Amorosa was like stepping into another world — part medieval castle. The attention to detail in the architecture is breathtaking — from the stone towers and grand halls to the underground cellars that make you feel like you’re in Tuscany. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the winemaking process. The wines were exceptional — especially the reds and the late harvest wines — and the tasting experience felt both intimate and luxurious. You can tell every bottle is crafted with care and pride. Whether you’re a wine lover or just looking for an unforgettable experience, Castello di Amorosa is an absolute must-see. 🍷🏰

Castello di Amorosa is fun, unique, and full of interesting history — just be prepared for crowds. Our tour was excellent and our guide, Cynthia (Cindy), was the absolute best! She’s worked there forever, had tons of great information, and her humor made the whole experience even better. The tasting was delicious, and we loved getting to walk around the castle afterward to explore and take photos. It’s a beautiful property. One tip: have your reservation confirmation pulled up on your phone when you arrive at the gate. Overall, a really enjoyable experience and definitely worth a visit!
Kelsey K — Google review
Castello di Amorosa winery is located in this beautiful castle that is supposedly, according to some ratings and a poster on the entrance, one of the top 10 castles in the world. It is a small castle but adds to the experience of wine tasting. The staff is mostly Italian. Our host, Julio, did a great job at explaining the wines and making suggestions. We liked their red blend and their cabs. Good experience.
Susan M — Google review
Everyone told us to visit, though we were not anticipating being impressed with a "castle" built a few years ago. We had visited the sister winery, V. Sattui, which was amazing, and hoped for the best. "Everyone" was right! We were impressed with the beauty and architectural integrity of the structure and then wowed by the wine! Truly remarkable tasting of 5 wines and difficult to say what was our favorite!
Quita S — Google review
The castle is absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos — such a unique setting! The variety of wines at the tasting was pretty good, and overall the wine was enjoyable, though there’s plenty of great wine to be found throughout the area. What I didn’t love was the tour — it felt rushed and not very engaging compared to others I’ve done. Since the castle was actually built in the early 2000s, it lacks real historical background, and the experience felt more focused on selling wine and memberships than on sharing any authentic wine history.
Gunila M — Google review
Wow, love this castle. Makes me I'm in England, Germany, or Italy. The grape juice the red and white one was so perfectly fruity and sweet and yummy. The tour is so much fun to explore with the family and friends. The scenic view is awesome especially the flowers and the grape vineyards. I would love to come back again.

Nestled in the Napa Valley, Bothe-Napa Valley State Park offers a serene escape from the region's wine-centric attractions. Spanning 1,990 acres, it is home to the furthest inland coastal redwoods in a California state park, some of which have stood for over a century. The park boasts over 10 miles of well-maintained hiking trails that wind through redwood forests and along Ritchey Creek.
I have had nothing but spectacular hikes each time I come to this park. Redwoods, waterfalls & fantastic views along the way. The last portion of the hike to the top of Coyote Peak trail is a bit intense. Definitely not enjoyable on a hot day (I did that only one time). We had to cross the creek at one point- happy to say I didn’t fall in! I recommend this hike- maybe not for beginners but definitely for moderate hikers. Pack a lunch & enjoy!
Lisa — Google review
This campsite is quite the hidden gem! The grounds are pristine, staff was very friendly. Bathroom and showers were very clean. Excellent campsite with paths and hikes right from your spot. There is a large visitors center at the entrance too! This campground offers tent camping, yurts and cabins! Would definitely return and try a stay in a yurt or cabin next time. There is a pool that was very clean and perfect for kids in the summer. The location was the best part, so close to all the vineyards and restaurants along 128. Easy to got to dinner in one of the towns and then back to campground for firepit and smores! We stumbled upon this site and were so glad we did! Will certainly return!
Victoria C — Google review
Bothe-Napa Valley State Park is one of our regular hiking spots. If you like wooded trails, the Redwood Trail traces a creek from different vantage points. The Coyote Trail leads to a peak where you can see Napa Valley. There are cabins, yurts, and RV sites available to rent. The picnic area has charcoal grills and a bathroom/shower area. There is a pool open during the summer though we've never used it.
Damian E — Google review
The Yurts are very nice and well constructed. The cabins are more expensive but nicer if you want to spend a bit more. The bathrooms near the parking area don't have soap but there appears to be a soap near the Yurts and cabins. The park is not the most scenic since I am used to California plants and scenery. There is a creek and lots of foliage but no waterfalls or very large rock formations. There were some suspicious folks biking around and no park rangers in sight so be careful especially if you are alone. Maintain situational awareness and don't let your guard down.
Ian P — Google review
We car camped here with friends and our dog during the week. Our initial campsite (17) was pretty barren with little shade and no separation from the next site. We were able to swap to a better site and enjoyed our stay. Thank you camp host. While the park allows dogs, they are not allowed on any of the trails. This includes the short one to the nice creek that runs below the campsites. The location is great for visiting other spots in Napa valley. If you don’t have a dog with you the trail along the creek is nice. It’s actually a portion of the Bay Area Ridge Trail. Restrooms, trash, fire pits and sites are all well maintained.
Jeff M — Google review
We swam for 30 minutes, perfect. The picnic sites' bathrooms are the changing rooms. The lightbulb was out at the campsite bathrooms. We hiked over hills to the mill. A great time!
Suzy M — Google review
Bothe-Napa Valley State Park features lush forests, peaceful trails, and historic sites—perfect for hiking, picnicking, and experiencing Napa’s natural beauty away from the vineyards.
Fiza S — Google review
It is a very nice camping area that is kept clean and maintained constantly. It is expensive but it’s beautiful. It was 43 dollars for one night for the tent and car.

Sterling Vineyards is a renowned Napa Valley winery with an impressive collection of distinctive wines sourced from ten single vineyard estates. The historical winery features modern stucco architecture and two towers adorned with salvaged bells from St. Dunstans Church in East London, which chime every fifteen minutes. Visitors can choose from three tasting experiences, including self-guided tours, limited release wine tastings with artisan cheese and charcuterie, and educational food and wine pairings.
I had an amazing experience touring this winery. Each tasting was excellent. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The views from the winery were stunning, and the Gondola Ride to the reserve was perfect. We were able to join and become members, so now we can continue to enjoy their excellent selections! It was a memorable visit and definitely a highlight of our time in the vineyards.
Jennifer C — Google review
Had an amazing time at this vineyard. It is a fantastic location with amazing views. The wine tasting we did was self guided and I loved seeing the process at my own pace. The views of the rest of the valley are stunning as you take a gondola up to their building. Their were five different wine tastings and I loved each one. If I lived in a state that would allow wine to be shipped to me, I would have signed up for Sterling. Definitely worth the visit!
Tim K — Google review
We had an amazing time at Sterling Vineyards. The Gondola takes you to the winery. The property is amazing. Marcus was our professional wine person. Walking us thru the regions via the map and educating us about climate, wine skins, the weather, how grapes are picked and processed. All in all a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived and met Cathy, including all encounters with their team!
Kinny L — Google review
Everybody loves this spectacular structure on a hilltop. The gondola ride up to the winery is a fun ride. Views from nearly everywhere at the sprawling facility are breaktaking. Multiple tours and tasting experiences are available, with basic self-guided tour at $55.
Allen P — Google review
Absolutely loved this vineyard! The gondola ride up to the vineyard was so incredibly cool and unique! We did not have a reservation, but it was a Wednesday, so we purchased tickets at the gate and made our way over to the gondola. The views are stunning along the quick 5–7-minute gondola ride. Once you get to the top, they give you 5 wine tastings, along 5 different stops, and if you join their wine club, they will reimburse your tasting fees. The wines were very good, and we loved the gift shop at the end. My gf ended up joining the wine club. They have a beautiful rooftop deck where you can hang and enjoy the views too.

I am so happy and thankful for such a wonderful experience, we celebrated my friend’s bachelorette yesterday, up in the Hilltop experience and Maurice was the cherry on top in our visit. Maurice gave us a detailed explanation of the region and wines but also tips on what dish would be the best fit with each wine we tried. Thank you Maurice we had a lovely time. I recommend the Hilltop experience to anyone reading this because you get to be inside with ac and enjoy a walk through the property. The last thing was the cleanliness of the entire property, it’s beautiful and clean. Looking forward to another visit soon.

Amazing winery, spectacular views, the gondola ride was great, and they are the most modern gondola. They can seat up to eight but even better with only two.

Clos Pegase Winery & Tasting Room is a serene Mediterranean-inspired estate with beautiful gardens, extensive caves, and a modern building designed by architect Michael Graves. The winery offers wine tastings, guided tours, and sommelier wine-paired picnics in its Cave Theatre. Visitors can also enjoy the striking postmodern architecture, an extensive art collection, and sweeping views of mountains and vineyards.
As a member at Girard, we got benefits to complete a complementary tasting here. It’s a beautiful building and our host, Cheryl, was great at walking us through their history and the wines. We fell in love with their dessert wine which is t on the tasting menu but we saw someone else try it so we had to see. I definitely recommend a visit here.

Excellent tour with Wes. Really fun sharing the wine testing experience with other customers on the tour. Beautiful architecture and the cave was enjoyable. Great Cabernet selections and Hommage Chardonnay were delicious.

Had the best experience at Clos today! We were greeted and looked after by Wes who was absolutely brilliant and incredible. He was knowledgeable, funny and friendly. After tasting a few wines, we were treated to a tour of the cave. It was such a treat, and Wes was so sweet. Somehow by the end of the day, we ended up signing up for a membership! Can’t wait to go back. Thanks Wes!

A wonderful visit here with my family. It's truly one of the best wineries and tours we experienced while in Napa Valley. Knowledgeable and fun staff, delightful wine, and intimate cave tours. Please visit!
William O — Google review
One of our favorite wine tastings so far. Gorgeous views and wonderful picturesque environment. It was very cool to look at the caves where they also host private events. The guy that was our host was very knowledgeable and knew what we wanted. He was also willing to switch out some reds with whites so we can also taste their rose and Chardonnay.
Frederique D — Google review
We signed up for the premium connoisseur tour, and we're fortunate to get Nick as our guide. It was just the 2 of us for the tour, so it was extremely private. We could ask 1uestions and really get an in-depth understanding of wines from this tour. Nick was so knowledgeable and helped make the tour extremely memorable. Going into the caves for a private tasting was well beyond our expectations. My wife and I enjoyed the wines a lot and the food pairings just set the tone. Highly recommend! Look for coupon codes online to save on your tours. Or better yet, sign up for their wine club to receive amazing wines AND get your purchase price refunded.

This was our first visit, and what a find. Arvind poured for us, and we were blown away by their exquisite wines and the beautiful setting. We had committed not to join any wineries on this trip, but Clos Pegase easily won. We both joined as we were so impressed with their collection. The facility is expansive and modern. Art work through with tasteful decor. There are multiple tasting areas indoors and outdoors the tasting area is near the vineyards with gas fire pits to add to the ambiance. Their food offerings well done and accompany the wine well. The staff is relaxed and pour generously. They are extremely knowledgeable and love to talk about wine. It was the perfect end to a full day of wine tasting. Reservations are recommended especially on weekends. I returned with a colleague a few days later, and we spent 3 hours there. She joined the winery as well. Looking forward to many visits over the years!

Absolutely beautiful winery with a great story of the original family's architectural plans. The vineyard is themed on a work and play balance. Even though the vineyard is corporate owned now the wine is still amazing. Thank you for the amazing tasting experience!!!!

Cal Mart is a charming grocery store located on the main Lincoln Ave drag in town. It's a convenient spot to pick up provisions and gourmet groceries during your stay, as well as picnic and BBQ supplies. The store offers a great beer and wine selection, fresh foods, and even custom-made sandwiches at the counter. Visitors can also find children's games and books at Copperfields Books nearby.
Great local grocery store. Friendly employees. Really large selection of local wines, as well as many cheeses, and all the appropriate accessories! You can also get Napa/Calistoga souvenirs here. But aside from all of that, they have a great selection of everything else you expect a grocery store to have. Lots of parking, too.

I go to this grocery store because it's close to my work. While I don't traditionally "shop" at this market I love the Deli. The staff make great sandwiches and they have a delicious selection of baked goods made locally. Plus there's Decent coffee and well stocked wine and beer aisles.

We visited CalMart in Calistoga this week- bc of a local recommendation. Our Go to grocery store for great quality foods & variety back home in Redmond, WA is Whole Foods. WOW!!........ CalMart blew us away!! From a superb selection of wines to an amazing choice of delicious Deli foods. The sandwiches & so much more! We experienced extra friendly staff in the Deli dept. delighted to help us. And with smiles to share! Way to go Team CalMart!! Nothing like a small business for outstanding customer service! Lucky local Calistogians!! 🍀

It is great local grocery store. We picked up some nice ribeye steaks, some specialty cheeses, potatoes and salad for tonight's dinner.

Seems to be the largest supermarket in the area, and while I didn't particularly have one thing in mind -- mineral water, perhaps? I wound up buying wine; sushi; fruits and a mineral water, LOL. I saw that for all that they offer in a place with a few limits, they had a good stock of a lot of things. The prices were comparable to the San Francisco bay area, even though some things were a bit much. But, when you're on a holiday, that is the least of your concerns. Overall, I enjoyed it, and the folks were helpful and friendly. #TheBrokerWithAHeart

New favorite reasonably priced restaurant for a family dinner in Calistoga. The mini corn dogs were freshly made to order. The pork schnitzel was delicious. The nachos were impressive. Mainly locals. Sports bar vibe but elevated food. Friendly staff

Food was good and service was great but the prices at the restaurant did not match the prices on their website. That difference was the only reason they lost a star for me. The fried pickles and the spinach dip were both extremely good and I would recommend.
Troy C — Google review
My bestie and I decided to give this place a try today. We like to try places we've never been. The courtyard was lovely, the staff friendly, and my food was delicious. I had the crab risotto and it was phenomenal. Creamy, slightly tangy, and nice large chunks of crab. My friend had the hamburger. She wasn't super happy with it. She said it wasn't worth the money paid for it, and $2 extra for a little slice of cheese was outrageous. So, one star off for her being unhappy. We also had tater tots. They were so crispy! I would absolutely come back again. My food was delicious. I thought the price point was fair for being in the Napa valley.

Art Deco style bar near an Art Deco themed hotel. Service was good. The only disappointing thing was the absence of even medium shelf liquor. Looking for Bacardi, Tanqueray, Wild Turkey, or even Jim Beam? Nope, they gave none of that. All no-name spirits. The bathtub gin era of the 1920's is gone, for a reason.

Hey, looking for a place you can grab a bite and a cocktail delight? You can go big ol’ burger or maybe just grab an app of deviled eggs. Or maybe you’re like me who’s feeling the chicken Cobb salad which is what I got and it SATISFIED. The crowd here is great. I had a delightful time chit chatting with another brewski loving bro and trading war stories of life in Cali. If you’re in Calistoga, head to Johnny’s!

Fantastic!! Happy hour is A-MAZING! The sliders, omg.. do yourself a favor and get one of each. You will not be disappointed. In fact, you won't be disappointed with anything you order. We practically ordered one of everything off the menu and were pleased with everything... wide selection of drinks too. Ask Luigi the bar manager to make a bartenders choice. He asked us a few questions to see what our interests were and whipped something up that was devine! Mike the manager and Luigi are the definition of hospitality and customer service. Be sure to check out this gem!

My husband and I went there for my husband’s birthday. It was a nice restaurant, with a nice view and servers were nice. The food was ok. It wasn’t out of this world, but it tasted just fine. The prices are also a bit high for the quality of what you’re getting. I guess I just had higher expectations.

We had lunch here on a Wednesday after a spa visit. Service is very good. The view is nice...especially when they opened the folding doors. Food is good. My husband really liked the calistoga bowl. I thought the margherita pizza was just okay...the crust was really soggy. The pavlova dessert was tasty...really good except for the bitter tasting fruit underneath. Would definitely recommend for a nice lunch option.

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of California, the Old Faithful Geyser is a must-visit natural wonder that enchants visitors with its reliable eruptions. Just a short drive from downtown Calistoga, this scenic geyser bursts forth plumes of water and steam reaching heights of up to 80 feet multiple times daily, creating stunning rainbows when conditions are right. The site features charming picnic areas surrounded by serene gardens and offers an array of local goods at its gift shop.
This is the 3rd largest Geyser in the world and originally owned by a badass Woman Olga Kolbek, who observed the Geysers activity in relationship to seismic activities. The Geyser is active every 40 minutes, I'd recommend staying for at least 2 showings. It's a beautiful space, with chairs and benches to enjoy a snack and a beverage. There's a little museum with history on the earth and of Olga and her amazing life. There's also some sweet goats, llamas and horses to visit. Got there around 10am and stayed about 2 hours.

If you are looking for a place to relax with friends or just want to see something new, stop at this scenic site. Old faithful geyser is a hot spring that will burst out water like a fountain. It’s only for a few minutes, but it is beautiful to see. There are other activities on site including a geology museum, a petting zoo, and a bocce ball court. There is also a gift shop as well. Although it was not expensive, there are tickets on Groupon. It is children wheelchair friendly. Bring a picnic and sit down while you wait for the next eruption (around every 45 min). Enjoy 💕💕
Tayna L — Google review
A fun space to check out. Plan on bringing a picnic to get the most of the experience. Geyser went off ever 35-40 minutes. Kids really liked the llamas and goats. Games include boce ball and corn hole.

This was a great experience for your entire family! We arrived just as it began to erupt and the ushered us in immediately to see the attraction! Wow!!! What a sight to see!! we took pictures and as it began to fade, we went back and paid our admission fee, but walked back out to wait approximately 35 minutes for the next eruption that we were able to watch from start to finish, and it was truly spectacular! Granted, we were there on a rainy day, but the experience was very worthwhile! We have attached some pictures for you to enjoy 😎💯👍🏽
Steve B — Google review
This was a lovely experience. It takes about 30-40 minutes between each. While you wait you can visit the pony’s and feed the goats. There’s also a tiny museum where you can spend time in. Free coffee was nice to have because we visited after a heavy lunch 😅
Lawrence T — Google review
A fun stop to see a predictable "faithful"geyser within wine country. We went 5.21.25 and it was scheduled every 40 minutes or so. A lot of seating available while you wait. You can purchase food to feed the goats and llamas on site. I think it is worth a stop.

great place to be at spend the day. Picnic area swings petting zoo and relax. We had a wonderful day. Must see.

The geyser sprays every 20-30 minutes. There are alpacas, goats to pet. Great seating area and have some family time. For EV owners there are 2 free Tesla EV chargers at the property.

Wineries & Vineyards
Chateau Montelena Winery, established in 1882, is housed in a picturesque castle surrounded by manicured gardens. Visitors can enjoy daily tastings and weekday tours of the estate. The winery gained international recognition after its 1973 Chardonnay was declared the best in the 'Judgment of Paris' competition, elevating Napa Valley's status as a prominent wine region.
We booked a tasting here for my birthday and had a lovely time! The gentleman who did our tasting/tour was knowledgeable and kind with a lot of great stories. Beautiful grounds and wonderful experience ☺️
Colby W — Google review
Wonderful tasting as well as host. We stayed for at least two hours and it was totally wonderful. We are european and used to great french and italian wines but this beat our expectactions.
Romano K — Google review
We stopped by Chateau Montelena just to take photos since we didn’t have a tasting reservation. The property is absolutely beautiful — the castle-like building and the peaceful lake surrounded by trees make it feel like stepping into a fairytale. Even without tasting, it was worth the visit for the scenery alone. We’ll definitely come back next time with a reservation to experience their wine tasting!
Thuy T — Google review
Historic, Serene, and Unforgettable Chateau Montelena is everything you hope a Napa Valley winery will be—elegant, peaceful, and rich with history. The grounds are absolutely stunning, with a storybook stone chateau and a serene lake surrounded by lush greenery. It's the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and take it all in. The wine lives up to the legacy. Their Chardonnay, which famously beat the French in the 1976 Judgment of Paris, is still a standout—balanced, crisp, and beautifully structured. The Cabernet Sauvignon and other reds were equally impressive, showcasing depth, restraint, and finesse. The tasting experience is thoughtful and unpretentious, guided by knowledgeable staff who clearly love what they do. Whether you're a longtime wine lover or just beginning your journey, Chateau Montelena offers something truly special: world-class wine in a setting that feels timeless.

We took the tour with our tasting and had such a wonderful time! Their property was gorgeous and had a great family history. Wines were great. Keeley was our host and her warm, welcoming personality took our experience to the next level. Definitely worth a stop!
Jamie B — Google review
We visited as a group of 15, and unfortunately this was the least enjoyable tasting we’ve done so far. The property and history are impressive, but the actual experience felt disconnected from what makes great hospitality. We stood for nearly two hours while our host gave what felt like a scripted monologue focused heavily on himself and the legacy of the owners. The tone often came across as condescending rather than welcoming, and there was very little conversation about the wine itself. When we moved to the kitchen for a food pairing, the setup felt overlooked. The cheese board was placed in a way that most of the group couldn’t reach, and there were bats and bugs on the food prep area. It didn’t reflect the level of care or quality we expect at this price point. This ended up being the only winery of the weekend where not a single person in our group purchased a bottle. We really wanted to enjoy it, but the presentation and hospitality made it difficult to connect with the wines.
Santa K — Google review
The estate tour was wonderful! Keeley was very kind and we learned a lot from her about the history and the wine! The wines were delicious and we love how personalized this tour was. The Riesling and Zinfandel really stood out to us!
Tara Z — Google review
The property was beautiful, the wine was amazing, but Christian truly made the entire experience a 10/10! He was incredibly knowledgeable about wine and the processes involved in crafting different varieties. I had so many questions, all of which he answered in depth, providing examples that helped me better understand the complexities of it all. We visited during the winter, so it was quite cold. Because of the cold, we were able to enjoy a very intimate wine tasting with just my family and me. I never felt rushed or like my many questions were a bother! I would definitely book again with excitement to learn more from a host like him!

Restaurant
Sam's Social Club, located at the Indian Springs Resort and Spa in Calistoga, has established itself as a popular dining destination since its inception in 2015. The restaurant offers an elegant indoor dining space as well as a spacious outdoor area with fire pits and a geyser-fed fountain. The menu features creative American cuisine, including dishes like breakfast pizza, coconut chia pudding, and smoked salmon benedict.
We had a phenomenal time here, and we’ll definitely be paying them another visit on our next trip to Napa! We split the Sam’s Cheeseburger and can safely say this was the best burger we’ve ever had!! This burger had fantastic flavor, was cooked to perfection and it melted with each bite! The Philly Cheesesteak Hash was delicious and we believe this was a special during our visit. In addition, we order the Candy Cap Churros for dessert, which was also a standout here! On top of all that is their amazing staff, we were very impressed with the overall service! We highly recommend coming up to Calistoga and trying Sam’s Social Club, you won’t be disappointed! Visited Sam’s Social Club at the end of 2024.

Came for brunch before wine tasting. Warm banana bread was a great started. Of the entrees, I liked the egg in a hole best. Parmesan crust and truffle sauce were delicious. Benedict was standard.

Make sure to get the banana bread! It’s a must try. We recently had banana bread in Hawaii and its seriously is better. Food portions were big and breakfast was delicious. My 3 year old wanted pizza for breakfast (of course) and it came with tots and fruit. We will definitely be back!

The hotel we stayed overnight after our Napa wine tastings doesn’t have restaurants on site. We went to Sam’s Social Club which was 10 -15 minutes walk from our hotel , based on our hotel concierge’s recommendation. 5 stars is a combination of food quality and customer service. We were a party of four adults and we enjoyed our dishes for their portions and tastes.

We fell in dang love with this spot. The drinks were a m a z i n g (pisco sour and guy's getaway in particular), and the dishes we had were above and beyond. ABOVE and beyond. They killed the cheese board—absolutely flawless—and the octopus and the panzanella with burrata were noteworthy as heck. My husband is still talking about the octopus, and I don't think he's gonna stop anytime soon. Freaking bravo, man. We were so satisfied eating here.

This is a relaxed wine country restaurant on the property of Indian Springs resort. They have an interesting and diverse menu that has something for most diets and palates. We enjoyed a late lunch and birthday cocktails. The cobb salad and drinks were amazing. The outdoor patio is beautiful but it was a bit warm when we arrived so we opted for inside seating.

Here is a wonderful restaurant in a historic location- Indian Springs. The beautiful dining room and Alfresco options add to the experience at the top of the valley.
Paul F — Google review
Excellent food and friendly staff. Tammy was very helpful to set up table for us in the patio with the heat lamp in the evening. Alex the server made great food recommendations and explanations for their homemade pasta. He noticed they might have the last order of pasta for the day remaining so he quickly reserved that order with the kitchen and they came back to take the rest of our order. The pasta was delicious and glad we had a chance to try it. The grilled octopus was crunch outside and tender inside. Steak frite was also tasty. Apple crumble with vanilla gelato ice cream hit the pot after a very enjoyable dinner. We would definitely come back to more.

Café Sarafornia is a long-standing diner located in Calistoga, offering classic American meals and all-day breakfast. The restaurant's name has an interesting origin tied to the town's history. It has been owned by the Dierkhising family since 1976 and is known for its delicious breakfast options such as braised pork tostada, Brannan Benedict, and Huevos Rancheros.
Extremely pleasant workers taking care of me at the counter. Everyone was so friendly and attentive. Visitors like myself mingled easily with local regulars. And the food is so tasty. I had poached eggs with chorizo. It came with toast, avocado, Mexican sauces and various veges. The coffee was flavorful and refills were free. Cake and pie and cookies freshly made by a local nun looked up and me throughout my meal but I didn’t surrender. I was too full.

Perfect breakfast and brunch spot in Calistoga ! I really loved their foods. The hashbrown was one of the best. Omelet and egg Benedict were so flavorful and they were very generous with ingredients. The foods came out super fast and the service was great. The best part was how reasonable the price was. It was so refreshing to see the middle class prices amid crazy inflation madness. I am definitely coming back when I visit Calistoga!

Cute cafe with breakfast fare. Friendly staff. The special was peaches & almonds on pancakes. It was syrupy, too sweet for me, I think the pancakes are better on their own. Nevertheless, we took home a slice of that gorgeous, tall Carrot Cake, and it took two days to finish.

The Name of this place kills me. The food was much better than I expected for being california diner food. Had Luis Burrito which really tasted even better than it looked. Life story of the owners on the wall was a nice touch

I was trying to find a breakfast place to go with my best friend whom I haven't seen in ages. I gave her three options and she said she liked the dinner feel. Nothing like also needing time to research the menu and still take forever to pick. Both of us got distracted and took forever to order. We were sipping on coffee. Yes yes it will open your eye right up! (the coffee) Our orders were placed at separate times due to us blabbing but both orders took a long time. My friend's order came first and she waited for mine. I enjoyed my scramble and she hers. I think both of us wanted Benedicts. It was also a very poppin Sunday morning! Aka lots of people coming in and out. Our server looked like she barely had time to take a sip of water for how busy it was. *wished for maybe a vegan option or two but not the most veg head friendly Ambience=dinner all the way

Went in around 8:30am, we could choose our table. If you go around 9AM, expect a full house and some wait time. They are busy! Friendly server, great service, and yummy food. When we asked for 2 orders to-go, the server even tried to have the kitchen cooked the food closed to when we leave. The food stayed warm when got back to the resort! This is above and beyond service. Also loved the restaurant decorations, full of history and very festive for the holidays.

Yummy yummy! I just had a fresh bagel with lox, tomato, cream cheese, cappers and red onions —- all prepared so I could assemble. We are visiting the area for a few days and see all the locals and tourists stopping in for their morning coffee fix. Super nice “kid” at the register - he repeated all orders back with a genuine smile. My matcha with oat milk was perfectly prepared! My husband had a fresh berry smoothie - all good!

Spacious roastery with indoor and outdoor seating that serves coffee, pastries, and sandwiches. Food: The breakfast sandwich was tasty and normal size. The iced latte was decent. Maybe their regular coffee is a better choice based on other reviews. Atmosphere: There is spacious indoor seating and a few tables outside. Price: Fair price for the food and drinks. They aren’t expensive. Parking: Street parking is available in front of the restaurant and along the store fronts.

This place is such a cozy delight!! The older British gentleman who took our order was so friendly. Great matcha latte and my husband enjoyed his cold brew. Breakfast sandwiches were great, loved the bread! The ambience inside is the best part, it’s big enough where you can find a seat but it felt so cozy. I would definitely return!!

Where the local goes. Can get unlimited refills for coffee for $3.50. Medium and dark roast available (but the medium was better). They offer breakfast sandwiches, BLT and bagels. Ate here today. The beef stew was absolutely delicious and so was the lava cake for dessert. The waitresses were very pleasant. Nice relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely eat here again if I'm back in the U.S.

The Burger was out of this world! But you have to order fries, it doesn’t come with fries which is kind of a bummer for a $20 burger! The Ravioli was also delicious, pesto was creamy and just the right amount.

My experience here was fantastic. The ambiance was nice, and the friendly staff made our visit feel special. After self-seating, we were attended to immediately, which was great. I ordered the grilled chicken salad, while my girlfriend had the fish tacos. Both meals were full of flavor and came at a surprisingly reasonable price. Although we don’t drink anymore, the bar here is impressive, featuring an extensive drink menu. I can’t wait to return soon to try more entrees. This place is a great stop!

Hydro Grill offered good menu choices along with friendly, timely staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. Our appetizer of fried calamari was light and perfectly paired with a chipotle aioli, I very much enjoyed the rich flavor of the vintner beef stew with garlic mashed potatoes, and my partner's burger was thick and cooked perfectly. I also appreciated that the music was low key, adding to the experience, rather than taking away from it as is too often the case

Amazing food! We had the best contest burger, definitely worth a try. If you wanna keep it light, you can have a side salad or if you want to indulge it it’s a must to try the Italian truffle fries.

Im not typically someone to say anything or if i do gie direct feedback rather than this form. However i can not find how to contact the establishment directly so- we were super disappointed with our happy hour experience after all the good reviews. I’m not sure if our waitress was just having an off day but we felt extremely uncomfortable with how much the server conveyed that she felt we were being an inconvenience to her. In fairness we had opted to sit outside since we had a dog and it can be annoying to go in and out but overall the lack of attention and overall rudeness didn’t feel like it warranted the level off annoyance and dismissal we received through our short meal. We ended up cutting our meal short due the lack of attention and friendliness. Hope that maybe our experience is not entirely reflective of the overall experience.

I ordered spaghetti with meatballs - a classic - that was a hard miss. It was flavorless, soggy and the meatballs were dry. The entire time that I was there, no one came to fill up my glass of water or to check on me. It took a good 10 min to get the waitress’s attention to get me some Parmesan in order to give the spaghetti some flavor. The only reason I ate it was that I was starving and sending the food back would only have delayed my eating. It seemed that all the attention was focused on the locals. When I was asked about the food I said it was awful. The waitress offered no feedback whatsoever. She walked away and served me the bill in silence. My recommendation is that if you see this restaurant, keep walking. It’s a tourist trap!

I am visiting from Australia. Was looking forward to a pizza. 45 minutes later I get this pizza placed in front of me... Cold dry, no cheese and some slices of tomatoes thrown on top. Told the waitress the pizza was dry, she asked if I wanted some sauce cold or hot. The manager past by several times and noticed that I was not eating... Never even acknowledged me when I left I stated my disappointment, he could not care less. He ruined my experience . I came home hungry with a stomach ache. I highly recommend avoiding the place , you save yourself from disappointment. I have the receipt! Palisades Eatery 1414 Lincom Ave Calistoga. Owner is dishonest and trying to discredit my review. SHAME ON YOU!

The ambience and staff are amazing! They were all working hard and trying to get the rush the so called happy hour created for them. Let me tell you yes Palisades you got people to walk in the door, but we will not be returning. Our experience was by far the worst happy hour we’ve ever been to. The sliders are more like burger bites. The 4 “prawns with cocktail sauce” is really four small just defrosted shrimps from US FOODS, plated on four pieces of arugula with a large amount of cocktail sauce. For $10 each…. Felt like a scam honestly when the plate came out.

I absolutely LOVE this restaurant. Friendly staff and wonderful service! The food is exceptional, and this is our favorite place now!
Sierra B — Google review
Sushi Mambo was quite a disappointment to us. I am Japanese and born and raised in the San Francisco area where we have access to great Sushi restaurants. Good sushi starts with good rice. The sushi rice was much firmer than customary. This is due to improper cooking or poor quality rice. The sushi rice was either drastically under seasoned or not seasoned at all. Good sushi also requires quality fish. What we were served was either not fresh or just low quality. It lacked flavor and texture. A large part of a quality sushi restaurant is the presentation. It seems that the staff is unaware of how Maki rolls should be prepared, cut, and presented. Again a large disappointment. The service was adequate and because we had a dog, we dined outdoors so I cannot comment about the atmosphere although I did venture into the restaurant to use the bathroom and was unimpressed with the dacor. It seems to me that whomever designed the interior of the restaurant had little to no guidance or expertise. All in all, it was a very disappointing meal.

The best sushi restaurant in the Valley and perhaps even in the world. Every time I go back to home to Napa, I drive up to Calistoga and order the same sushi rolls. The Phoenix, great balls of fire, Diablo, cheese so beautiful and the ninja.

Miso hungry! Stopped off in Calistoga for a little sushi. The miso soup was very nice. The sushi was fresh and tasty. My wife had the ramen and wasn’t very happy, the broth was not very tasty and the meat had a funky flavor. Having said that the waitress was very good about it, and it was dealt with in a professional manner.

Keshia K — Google review
The plating was lovely, the food was okay. Inside the restaurant however is a faint tinge of urine. My friend and I chose to ignore it because we were extremely hungry, the service was very slow but I don't know maybe there were take out orders and we just weren't seeing anyone come get them. My soup spoon had lipstick on it so I set it aside on the table and tried to drink the bowl without a spoon but even the bowl had a strange after taste. The waitress didn't seem to care that I put the spoon off to the side with the bright red lipstick facing up and was usually gone before I could mention it, rarely ever to return again. I'm pretty sure if I did say anything I would have just received the same spoon with it wiped off. I don't know if I went when the B team was scheduled but the rice was very chewy for me and the flavors somewhat lacked so I wasn't entirely impressed. Over-all it isn't a bad spot but if you're a seasoned sushi consumer.. maybe go somewhere else

Lovely little café with great coffee and a wonderful personal touch — she makes everything herself, and it really shows. We love supporting this kind of business. Warm, positive vibe and a nice outdoor patio to enjoy your drink. We recommend the oat bars, the egg bites, and the oats for a healthy and filling breakfast.

Pictures and reviews are very misleading. I wish I looked deeper into the one star reviews before coming. The single staff member was fairly friendly but seemed to have no experience making coffee. There were four cups out at once and rather than making each cup at a time demonstrating the coffee craft in each coffee, the employee pulled several shots poured the amounts into each cup, let them sit on the counter while frothing a huge batch of milk and proceeded to just dump the milk into each cup….. I hate making reviews like this but the business advertises extreme care and quality for their coffee and yet these were made with such carelessness. The vanilla latte I got was super burnt and bitter; pretty close to a black coffee if you ask me. This place could easily turn this into a 5 star place again by starting with training every employee on creating the perfect cup of coffee. It seems like there are other staff that do take pride in making their coffee but unfortunately, I suppose, I didn’t come in at the right time. If you value your time and money please check out other coffee shops in the area while they figure out their business. I hate Starbucks and Starbucks is better than this…

I’ve been here twice in two weeks. Gave her a second chance, but it was just as bad as the first. She’s very nice, but only one person. I can handle slow service if the coffee is good. It’s so bad. I ordered a cortado; got a burnt latte. Went back and ordered a macchiato. I figured that would not be hard to mess up. I got an 8 oz cup half full of burnt, watery something with foam on top. So sad. Please send this sweet woman to barista school. Waited almost 30 minutes for a smoothie too. Yikes.

Nice set up in a relaxing little space. You can sit outside and just enjoy your time. We had a chunky monkey smoothie, nice and fresh, a smoked salmon bagel and an açai bowl, all prepared fresh for us. A variety of good quality, healthy and tasteful choices for a breakfast/brunch. Definitely worth it.

Great spot for coffee and treats! Talked with the owner who bought the place 4 months ago. Excellent service, quality coffee, and a welcoming vibe. Highly recommend!

Delightful corner coffee stop, the coffee was flavorful and strong without being overbearing and the service was prompt and friendly. Nice outdoor seating and plenty of parking.

Didn’t have the coffee but the food was quite disappointing . For example, avocado toast was cold dry piece of toast with avocado goo straight from the fridge. That dish is pretty hard to screw up but they managed it.

One of those great/small town coffee places that has some good frozen Acai Bowls and Breakfast Sandwiches at reasonable prices!!
