I've been to the Alaska SeaLife Center multiple times over the years and each time it never fails to impress. There is much to explore and learn here. Exhibits teach about impact of environmental changes on Ressurection Bay's wildlife, the life cycle of sea bird species, and how research is conducted to better understand this region Sea anemone, starfish, Puffins and Sellar Sea Lions (among dozens of other species) live in this sanctuary; it is incredible to watch and interact with them, to gain a new appreciation for Alaska and its beautiful denizens. The center also has a veterinarian/wildlife response team that cares for injured animals and tells their story. For a small town like Seward, the SeaLife Center punches well above its weight and is well worth a visit

You can see almost all kinds of Alaskan sea wildlife there, in something close to their natural habitat. Check out the pictures to see what you can find there. This place is perfect for anyone who wasn’t lucky enough to spot some of these animals in the wild. I especially loved seeing the puffins — they are such lovely birds.

This was a fun way to spend about 90 minutes of our day! We went in the afternoon around 4pm when it was much less busy than earlier in the day. What was great about going at this time is that at 5pm we got to see the puffins being fed! This was awesome especially because this was one of the animals we were most excited to see. We were told the lower underwater viewing of the feeding was the place to be. It didn't disappoint because we got to see lots of puffin action when they would dive for their food. Overall, a great way to spend some time in Seward. Very well put together SeaLife Center!

This is a small sea life center but it is full of great information on the sea life in the area. The staff is very nice and knowledgeable. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the sea life that was available. You start upstairs and work your way downstairs. There is a small coffee/snack area and a nice gift shop. We spent probably 2 hours inside. They have parking available for RVs, vehicles and handicap.

The SeaLife Center was so much fun. I hadn't been in years and even going without kids, I spent two hours there. So much cool sea creatures to see. From seabirds to fish to octopus to big sea lions, I was thoroughly entertained. The docent near the seals was very knowledgeable and full of great information. There was even a touch tank to gentle brush upon sea urchins and starfish. It's definitely worth a trip here when you're in Seward.

This place is so fun! It is full of amazing staff who are all friendly and knowledgeable. The building isn't huge but its very well laid out so that it does not feel crowded. It's really clean and the exhibits are clearly maintained with care. I REALLY enjoyed the octopus, I wish I knew if they had named him or her. The touch tank is also so fun, made me feel like a kid again.

Absolutely spectacular!!! It was a bit crowded when we visited, but the tickets were timed so I imagine that helps with the crowd. We saw so many incredible creatures and learned a lot. We found the staff friendly and knowledgeable. They loved sharing facts about the animals in their care.

Well worth the price and wait time. About $40 per person and 30 minute wait time. Their dishes are packed with seafood. Every single menu we ordered had so much seafood that it was so flavorful and protein rich. The salmon dip is a must-try, where the salmon dip and the cucumber combination is extraordinary.

This place is the top restaurant in Alaska! The menu is so balanced, tasty and not heavy for your stomach. You can see that the chef spend time to build the menu, spend time on every dish presentation. It has interesting positions, and my top is fish (both types), oysters and the deserts. This is the first place, where I got back twice during the trip. I think they are always fully occupied and there is no option to reserve a table in advance. I would highly recommend to come 10-15 minutes before they are opening and you will have a high chance to get a table without a wait

We spent four nights in Seward and, by far, The Cookery was the best restaurant we visited. If you’re looking for the freshest seafood Steward has to offer, cooked perfectly, then this place is a must. We started with the shrimp cocktail and the seafood chowder. For our main course, we opted for the fish of the day, which was salmon, of course. To cleanse our palates, we ended the meal with a shared dessert of Chocolate Coconut Sorbet.

Best restaurant in Seward by far. Enjoyed every dish we had. Went back for two nights! High quality ingredients, good preparation, unique and interesting recipes. Our server, Brandon, was friendly, efficient and attentive -couldn’t ask for better service. Nice contemporary space with a classy, relaxed vibe. A much-needed reprieve from the old-timey diner/grungy woodsy vibe at other restaurants in town. Prices are in line with other sit-down restaurants in town, but with much better food and ambience. Note that they don’t do online/advance reservations. That has its downsides, but it does allow for a much wider range of people to try their cooking. So factor in wait times if you don’t arrive by 5/5:30 PM. Their system for walk-up reservations was very efficient; you could track how many parties were ahead of you. Highly, highly recommend!

This was our favorite meal during our Alaska trip. The oysters were very fresh and naturally sweet, and the seafood dishes were all well-prepared. They have a fresh catch menu. The halibut we had was also nicely cooked and paired with sauces/other ingredients that were more thoughtful than other places. Overall, a very good dining experience and much better than some of the popular spots we tried in Anchorage like Glacier Brewhouse and Kincaid Grill.

Had a lovely dinner here with good service. A bit overpriced for its quality, which is expected of Seward. The oysters and spot shrimps were super fresh and delicious. The cream cheese ice cream was good as well. The (free) amuse bouche was very underwhelming. Not a fan of the shrimp n grits—shrimps and sauce were great, but the combination of grits and nuts did not work for me. Also tried the strawberry nojito, which will be a skip for me. If I go again, I’d order exclusively from the appetizers/seafood list and the fresh sheet Note that this place is extremely popular and does not take reservations. Tried to go right when they open and leave your name on the waitlist

We just finished our dinner at The Cookery, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Good food, excellent service and an overall great vibe! Our server was very warm and patient, while being very prompt with our food. Dishes were well put together and paired well with our drinks. We definitely recommend this place, as a great way to end a beautiful day in Seward, and further adding to your memories.

Had such a good experience here that I had dinner twice here while staying in Steward! No wait to sit down, and attentive wait staff made for a good dinner. The Tuscan Salmon was amazing! The portions were generous and the flavors were wonderful! I highly recommend Gold Rush Bistro!!!!

Wonderful staff. Tasty food that also looks delicious. Fun restaurant/wood cabin vibe. The food here, although a little more expensive than other options, was very good and presented well on the plate. We were not disappointed at all. We had some desserts that came in larger quantities than expected, but that was a welcome thing! We were some of the last guests in the restaurant and we weren't made to rush or anything. The staff were very nice and easy to talk to. They gave us some recommendations on some good local shops to visit. A very fun place to eat, excellent fish dishes!

Such a great place! Small, but great atmosphere. We came in as a party of 5 close to closing. We asked if they could seat us. We waited about 15 minutes for another party to finish up, and were seated and served. The Tuscan Salmon was some of the best I’ve ever had! Fantastic char, and seasoning with the rice. Didn’t need anything else. Would highly recommend and these folks are trying to earn business.

Man, I really don't like giving low ratings, but the Pasta Alla Salmone that my husband and I had were so bland. Not only that, but the bell peppers weren't cooked long enough. We had to ask for salt and pepper and add it to every bite to make it taste better. Cute place, nice service, but not for me. And the water tasted weird to me.

Great place for a reasonably priced seafood dinner in Seward. Family owned and family run business that uses local ingredients. Very professional with simple yet elegant dishes. If you are looking for a drink with your meal, be advised that they don’t serve alcohol, but that did not inhibit the experience for us

The Gold Rush Bistro halibut fish and chips, chowder, and salad was my top meal during my trip! It was all very fresh and well seasoned with very generous portions. I’ll be thinking about that meal for a long time!

Food a little dry and bland but the wait staff were very helpful in getting hot sauce and lemon. Nice Italian soda, liked the vibe here too.

Absolutely adore this coffee shop that was recommended to us on our trip to Seward. This place has such a cool vibe. Super welcoming to all. Low key. Fantastic coffee and fresh pastries. We will definitely be back on our next visit to Alaska and would love to rent the parsonage on the property.

Neatest coffee house I’ve ever been to. Everything is made fresh and priced reasonably well. Local artists have pieces for sale that you can browse through. People that work there are very personable and friendly. Can tell they take pride in their small town. Definitely will be going back. Cozy atmosphere.

Sadly we weren't able to experience the coffee of this rad place, but I still wanted to take the time to recommend because they still deserve it. The line from the start was OUT THE DOOR on a Saturday morning in Seward, but my fiancé and I were able to tuck away in the upstairs loft area and take in the space. It is so unique! I might not have had a cup of coffee in my hand, but I know it would have been exceptional matching the environment. One other thing I noticed is that there is a separate line for the locals of Seward, and the coffeehouses appreciation to their business throughout the cold winters. Such a great concept. If you're in Seward, make a stop here, and drink a cappuccino in my honor :)

The coolest atmosphere! It's an old church converted into a coffee shop. There is lots of lovely art from local artists- and available for purchase! There is also an upstairs where you can sit on couches and chairs- it has a "Friends" coffee shop feel. Definitely worth a stop in!

Such a cute and cozy coffee shop! We looked around at the art for quite a while, enjoyed coffee, and yummy baked goods. Highly recommend the jalapeño bagel bombs!

Alaska has such wonderful coffee spots and this is truly a gem! Should be a must visit on a visit to Seward. I tried their Dubai chocolate special latte and it was so good. The vibe of this place is great and if you get a seat in the loft with that big window then nothing like it!

This was a great place - got my latte here which was good but we loved the vibe of this place. Lots of places to sit but we took a take out. I believe they repueposed an old church into this lovely place with great artwork all across the place. They had a community pay it forward board where you can pay for specific co.munity and support it.

Amazing experience! The trip includes a boat ride to and from the glacier, and kayaking there is something everyone capable should try. It was my first time kayaking in the sea, so it took strength, technique, and effort, but our guide Tony was fantastic, he gave us great tips along the way and even shared scones and homemade granola bars. A truly unique adventure.

We had an amazing time! Our guide Anna was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. So fun to kayak next to seals and sea lions and also to explore the little inter tidal creatures. Everywhere you looked was incredible scenery. Loved hanging out at the Fox Island spit! 10/10 would recommend!

We had an incredible time: the boat taxi out we saw tons of wildlife, our camp sites were spectacular, the kayaking was great, and we were able to go on a few short exploration hikes. Our guide, Cole, was very helpful and knowledgeable about animals and places. The logistics of the trip were well thought-out and ran smoothly. We had a good mix of kayaking and short hikes/short explorations. We saw lots of birds, some sea mammals, and many cool plants and fungi. We could have happily stayed many more days! A few guides, who had not come on our trip but were in the boat taxi with us, saw us after the trip and went out of their way to come check-in with us as we waited for a shuttle after returning to Seward.

My husband and I went out on the all day boat and kayak tour last week from Seward into the fjords and kayaking up to the glacier. We loved our guide Cooper and everything about this company. We liked the warm and waterproof gear they give you. We liked how they divided us into 3, 6 person groups plus one guide. The boat operators (which I believe are an independent company) were great at spotting and stopping for wildlife pictures. We saw Oracas and Sea Lions and enjoyed the fjords. Once in the bay where the kayaks were the guides efficiently got us underway and push you in the water so your feet stay dry! While sitting in our kayaks with a view of the glacier, we had a delicious sandwich from a local bakery that was also catered to my husband’s allergies. When the tour concluded, they allowed us to choose which local charity the donation from our ticket revenue would go to. Overall, a really outstanding and upstanding local business we highly recommend.

Tony was the best guide ever and knew about every tree, every bird, and so much history! What a great way to spend the day…can’t speak highly enough about Kayak Adventures!!! They clearly want you to have an amazing experience. Thank you. We did the full day…kayaked, hiked, had delicious homemade granola bars and sandwiches…the mint water was perfect….and then kayaked again. The highlight of our trip to Alaska!

We loved our trip! We were unable to kayak due to strong north winds, but the wildlife tour was absolutely worth it! Our guide Freddy was super friendly and had lots of knowledge. The boat stopped for tons of wildlife - we saw humpback and orca whales, otters, seals, sea lions, puffins, porpoises, and mountain goats! We saw several humpbacks feeding in a circle which was awesome. The captain (Jamie?) got us really close to shore and put us in great position to see everything, including Aialik Glacier, which we were able to get quite close to.

This was actually so amazing! I enjoyed speaking with the amazing staff and the adventure was worth every penny! We got to see a bald eagle, sea otters & even a harbor sea lion. They provided locally made granola bars & a warm drink on our snack break. AND they donate 1% of profits to charity. I joined this trip solo and was welcomed by everyone in the group. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking to Kayak in Seward

Gluten free fried fish bites!!! We found Flamingo Lounge on a gluten free app, and the reviews were right! Our server Spencer was friendly and happy to answer a few questions from us. The Bucket of Butt was incredible. The batter (coconut flour based) was perfectly seasoned and was fried to an impressive crisp in a dedicated fryer. My wife and I shared the 10 chunk bucket and added fries with it. We also had a couple of their zero-proof drinks and both were surprising. Very refreshing. Overall, this was one of the best GF meals I've had in years. Would highly recommend!

Has character and staff is really nice. We showed up on Memorial Day weekend at the height of dinner time and they let us grab a cocktail standing for a chance to sneak into a bar seat for food before the table could open (1 hour wait). Worked and food was great! Crab is good enough to stand alone so just hope when we're back they have a full crab entree!!

If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Outstanding vibe, high quality fresh food, and expertly crafted cocktails. It’s very hard to believe a place this high of quality exists in a city of only 2,800 people. My home town in Ohio is 25,000 and nothing comes close to the quality of the food and service here. The halibut was one of the best fish I’ve ever had. The crab cakes had literal chunks of crab in them. They even threw in part of a shell to show me it was fresh lmao! They certainly know how to make an old fashioned. I cannot recommend this place enough. Checkout Flamingo Lounge when you’re in Seward. You will not be disappointed!

The coolest little gem in Seward! Swanky 60s style lounge with excellent cocktails and food. The staff were all so nice as well. I got a whole snow crab here for nearly half the price of other popular spots in town. Can’t be beat if you’re looking for good vibes and food.

I heard people talking about the place and wanted to check it out. The place didn't disappoint. The sourdough bread was excellent. The drinks were good and I really enjoyed my Crab legs, you should also try the halibut, it was excellent as well.

Super cute lounge with great atmosphere and aesthetic. I got my crab fix here and it was excellent. The tanner crab was sweet and succulent, barely even touched the butter! Service at the bar was friendly and attentive too. All around killer!

Really enjoyed all of their food and fancy drinks! Very cozy atmosphere. Super appreciate the separated fryer for GF items to meet needs of our gluten-free family members. They accommodated seating for our group of 5 in just 30 minutes with no reservation. Maggie was our waitress and just so sweet and lovely.

Convenient spot to grab a bite. Fish and chips are amazing but way too expensive 😫 50 bucks! We got burgers for 18, and they were great, too. My daughter got the kids' fish and chips and let me try some. Service was great and the dining area quite elegant. I don't recommend the coleslaw, not what you would normally expect.

Close to the museum with plenty of outdoor seating, this place seems like it would be popular. We arrived on a Sunday evening and there was only other table occupied. Service and food were ok. We had the salmon with a blueberry compote and salad. Nothing special.

I’m really amazed by the king crab legs and the chowder. They taste so fresh and natural, i also tried the halibut fish and chips. I strongly suggest trying halibut and the crab. Huili is from the same country as me and all other waiters am were also so friendly. I felt like this is my second hometown, as a sea food lover.

Great recommendation from a friendly stranger. Service is outstanding. The food is delicious and well made with fresh ingredients. I had the apple walnut salad. The cod fish and chips that my mother got was crispy on the outside and perfect on the inside. My husband had the reindeer sausage soup and he wanted to come back for it. Even the kids Mac and cheese was flatbed on top. The attention to detail!!

Pretty place, great location… but that’s where it ends The building is charming and the location is fantastic, but don’t let that fool you, walk on past. The employees were friendly and the service, while a bit slow, wasn’t terrible. The menu looked fun, the dishes were plated beautifully, and the cocktails were just as gorgeous. The view from our window was fantastic. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t hold up past the aesthetics. They had the heat on, which is strange for summer, and the food missed the mark. My halibut was overcooked, the fries were undercooked, and the jalapeño coleslaw, while an interesting concept, didn’t pair well with the rest of the plate. The margarita was a heavy pour of what tasted like low-end tequila, making it undrinkable. Save your money—there are better places to eat nearby that offer both the view and the flavor.

Seasalt Alaskan Bar & Grill is a good spot for seafood and a welcoming atmosphere. Staff is attentive and friendly.

I would not go back. There are much better options nearby. I feel like I was overcharged and underwhelmed. We got a bowl of chowder which was small bowl 98% cream with a few small potatoes, maybe one clam? Salads consisted of iceberg lettuce topped with a tiny portion of onions and tomato with not enough dressing. I'd honestly expect better from McDonalds. The fish and chips and salmon Sandi were pretty good, but small sized portions for the price compared to other restaurants in the area. We finished and waited for 15 minutes to get a check while our waiter was busy sweeping and getting ready to close. The only real positive of this place is the view from the deck, but that can be had elsewhere.

I was very surprised by this place! It's defently the best Chinese restaurant I've been to. I had the chicken chow mein and it was fantastic. It a true mom and pop restaurant. Super friendly owners! Will definitely stop by again on our next trip to seward.

If you love Chinese, go here!!! The Mongolian beef is AMAZING!!!!! The portions are HUGE! You won't be disappointed! The lady and her husband are so nice also! They're like little ninjas in the kitchen. The food was done so fast and tasted oh so amazing!! It's forsure underrated!

Our food was very tasty. The Mongolian Beef was our favorite dish. Grandmother our server was a little slow but the food came fast and generous servings. We will eat there again.

The yummiest Chinese food I had in Seward!! When you look at it from outside it might deceive you but it's beautiful inside. I was craving some hot soup and ordered their tofu soup which was made without egg and it was one of the best soups of my life :) spicy n hot just what I needed :) do try it out..!

Almost didn't get a picture of my Mongolian Beef, it was so delicious. Wonderful oriental fare and everyone in my family was happy with their food - Almond Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and Halibut. Definitely recommend this spot!

Family owned restaurant, large portions with the standard American-Chinese menu and decor. Personal preference I'd give it a 3-star rating, but for most people I think they'll really enjoy the restaurant so I gave them 4.

Pipeline Lakes Trail in the Chugach National Forest near Cordova, Alaska is a a great day hike. Beautiful views!

As a fine art photographer, Chugach National Forest was absolutely stunning. The hikes were amazing, the scenery was breath taking, and the amount of wildlife was great. I will definitely be back during the winter to capture its beauty then too.

Beautiful views all around. You will pass through the Chugach Forest if you're driving down south to Seward. Watch out for Moose 🫎 crossing the roads. Maintain your distance if you stop for photos as moose are known to charge if you're too close. Especially for cow moose with cute calves.

Driving in and around national forests of Alaska is always beautiful and breathtaking. 360°. It doesn’t matter which time of the year always enjoy. Driving and walking around. Get out of town and enjoy your ride.

We camped at a small turn out on Loose Rocks ponds that was very popular. A great place to boondock. We hiked to Byron glacier which is an easy 2 miles round trip, and Portage glacier which was much more difficult especially the first 3/4 of a mile ,but worth it.

Come explore some of the best Alaska has to offer. From the wild nature, to the scenic hikes. You will not be disappointed.

Horsetail Falls trail is fairly unmarked but super amazing! It's okay for kids under 5, carrying under 3 recommended. Super well kept boardwalk and less than a mile to the platform at the end. Our family loved it and will make it a yearly trip!

We had a great time. Daryl was our guide and was an enthusiastic ambassador for Alaska, Seward and mushing. We had a nice short ride with our 16 dog pack who were extremely anxious for us to get going. We then met the dogs and a young litter of pups. We were educated on mushing and the Ididerod. We then hiked out to Exit Glacier which was an easy hike for healthy legs and a beautiful sight to log into my memory cache.

Absolutely loved every second of this experience! The staff was incredible—so kind, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about what they do. You can tell the dogs are living their best lives—happy, healthy, and so excited to run and meet everyone! It’s not just a tour, it’s a full-on Alaskan adventure. From learning about the Iditarod legacy to riding with these amazing pups, it was unforgettable. Huge respect to the Seavey team for creating something so fun, educational, and full of heart. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Seward—this is a must-do!

We loved our experience at IdidaRide! Micah (not sure if I spelled that right) was an awesome musher- provided tons of knowledge and was very passionate about these dogs. They provided a video of us mushing AND a bunch of photos, which I loved. Plus the puppies!!!! They were only 3 days old and the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. All the dogs were such good boys and adorable. Very cool to learn about mushing!

We visited Seavey's last week as part of our one week inland tour of Alaska. We learned a lot about the dogs and what it takes to get them ready for the Iditarod and how grueling that is for both the dogs and the musher. The dogs were so friendly and receptive to us strangers. Of course, we all loved holding the puppies too.

Did one in Talkeetna earlier in the week; this one is quite a bit better. Better staffed, better facilities, better “sled run” concept, more information, and more professionalism. Don’t intend to slag the other one too bad, except to say having the opportunity to compare, this is the better one to patronize IMO.

We had a memorable trip. The crew was fun and informative and we saw multiple porpoises and fin whales, along with other marine wildlife. The scenery and the glacier up close was spectacular. The boat was extremely comfortable with assigned indoor seats and free deck seats. The 6h cruise was totally worth it!

Our boat tour with Major Marine Tours was amazing. Even with the rainy day it was absolutely worth it! The crew was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They shared the history of the area, stories about the animals, and the various rock formations we passed by. We also saw a few glaciers that were accessable only from a boat. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to experience the cruise no matter the weather!

I was concerned that boat trips wouldn’t be available in October. Thanks to Major Marine Tour! We had a fantastic four-hour boat trip. The staffs were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful l. Not only we saw the otters, sea lions, seals, eagles, also we learned a lot about glaciers, history about the area. Most importantly, I didn’t get a sea sickness. I still recall that I threw up a few times in the boat trip in Hawaii. This chat boat is definitely bigger and has strong engine. It was a perfect day and wonderful trip. Thank you!😊

Excellent thing to do to spend a day in Seward. The trip had breathtaking views and the staff an abundance of experience, giving us a plethora of interesting information about the geographical landscape, and the flora and fauna. We saw whales, killer whales, seals, and so many cool marine birds! It was a great trip for ANYBODY - especially families with kids. There were also great perks - delicious food and even the chance to cruise with a beer or cocktail of that is your thing. Above all the crew were amazing! So professional and they attended to our every need. I can’t recommend this trip enough! Worth every penny!

Our family loved this tour! They do an excellent job getting you as close as they can to whales, sea lions, and other wildlife. We were very pleased to see Fin and Humpback Whales, Stellar Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Sea Otters, both species of puffin, and numerous other birds. The captain was super knowledgeable and friendly. The snack prices in the boat are very reasonable, too! I highly recommend

We did a 6 hour tour and had amazing weather. The tour has been the highlight of our trip. Birds, sea lions and dolphins to start. Comfortable seating with some assigned seats inside so you had a place to retreat to if you got cold, windy or wet. Narration was educational and not over the top. We enjoyed it. Topped off with the glacier visit, a pair of humpback whales and at the end Orcas! We loved it. Would definitely recommend!

My family took the 6 hour boat tour with Major Marine tours. The boat was top-notch. Each group has their own personal indoor table to leave your belongings at for the duration of the trip. The outdoor seating and viewing areas were also great. The provided lunch was good, and the boat even has a small bar. The glacier ice margaritas were a big hit with everyone. We saw Orcas, whales, puffins, porpoises, bald eagles, sea otters, and sea lions. It was a perfect day!

Well there is a reason they have a 4.8 star review. This trip was awesome. We got lucky and had perfect weather so that made it even better. Steve (evening Steve) was out captain and his knowledge was amazing. I'm not a history person but hearing all the facts he had made the trip that much better. The food they served was actually really good and then a chocolate chip cookie at the and was icing on the cake. We got to see humpback whales and orcas along with a bunch of birds. Then the glaciers and other scenery was just fantastic. We will be bringing the kids back and this will definitely be a trip we take again.

Wow this tour was amazing! We went on the Classic Kenai Fjord Tour and the views were amazing. We saw two glaciers, lots of wildlife including whales, sea otter, seals, and sea lions. The staff was absolutely fantastic. Shoutout to Captain Smith! He was very patient and and let us take pictures of wildlife he could find, he was very informative and gave us a background history of Seward. The crew was amazing too, they had very fast service with the lunch (which was amazing!) The entire experience was amazing 👏

First and most important: we picked an 8 hours tour and for everyone, who have doubts either to take a smaller tour or this one, I would highly recommend to take this one. I was at that position as well, and the lady we met during our trip recommended to take 8 hours, as she took it and she was so impressed.Here are the reasons that might help you: 1. You would have a chance to get way further and closer to the glacier and with that get a better understanding on how big it was and how much of it already melted. 2. The captain of the cruise always have some interesting insights about every part of the way, the cruise is going through. 3. You will see and hear how glacier pieces fall apart. This is magnificent to watch and hear. 4. The wildlife - captain always chasing any wildlife he or anyone on the cruise sees. We were lucky to see the group of whales, who were catching the food. We also were going along with a whale mom and a kid and watching them playing, as well as tried to get a better view of orcas. 5. Yes, I know it might be pricey, but it totally worth every penny! The experience is unforgettable. 6. Besides glacier and wildlife, there are waterfalls, islands and lot more! !! Important part: take some motion medicine, as chasing wildlife might sounds like a fun, but in reality your body might not be that excited of all waves 😅

Everything was excellent from start to finish! The check in process was very easy. There is a waiting room and bathrooms as you wait to board. Keep in mind their check in office is inside of a hotel so it gets busy! Now the cruise itself was breathtaking! The crew was very kind and caring. They talked with every passenger on board and chatted/shared stories which made the whole experience more memorable. We received brochures of all the animals that we could potentially see. The captain went to great efforts to spot and point out any animals he encountered and we saw a ton! From whales, sea lions, sea others, puffins and a ton of Orcas! I am so happy for this once in a lifetime experience!

Fantastic boat and charter. Check in was easy with a nice sized gift shop to browse while you wait. The boat had plenty of room for all the passengers. We saw tons of animals. The sights were amazing. 8/31, it was cold but awesome to be able to go inside for a few to warm up. The food was great both the chicken and gluten free/veggie option. Couldn't/wouldn't have changed a thing.

Even though it is pretty geared towards mass tourism, they managed to provide a very unique and excellent tour. We saw wildlife and glaciers beyond our wildest expectations and they did everything to make the trip enjoyable. Note: it was pretty cold and the sea was rough. Ships seemed in top condition and staff is accommodating and professional. Recommendation!

Although we had cloudy, rainy and drizzly weather, it was still a fantastic tour. The captain was very knowledgeable about the area and made sure we all saw plenty of wildlife. The staff was amazing as well. They served a very good lunch and the chocolate chip cookies were a hit. This is a definite tour you need to do while in Seward.

This restaurant was good! The view was spectacular. Our waitress was great and told us about the customer favorites. The crab cakes and fish & chips were a hit.

A stunning venue, a delightful waitress, and mediocre food.. The halibut came with bird's eye frozen beans, $38 halibut and frozen beans go figure... The halibut was actually quite good but rather miniscule for the price, The rice was overcooked and cold, and frozen beans yes frozen beans! But wait The view of the small boat harbor is great The waitress was exceptional beyond comparison, The wine was very good and and well priced., so in spite of the frozen beans a pretty good experience, I'm not sure I'd go back, except to chat with Sherry the waitress and enjoy the wine and the view but not the frozen beans.

Decided to stop here for lunch as there was no wait. Got seated and walked into a swarm of some type of bug IN the restaurant flying over all the tables. Shrugged it off. We ordered clam chowder that only had a taste once I put an immense amount of salt on it. Honestly everything we ordered needed so much salt to have a taste except for my kids chicken nuggets which were too salty. They need a new chef.food is way too over priced for the cardboard you get.

The Main dinner Halibut with stuffed crab in a lobster bisque sauce($43) and the Clam Chowder ($12) was tasty. I would rate this a 5 out of 5 except the value is just not there. We had the Stuffed Halibut with Crab on a lobster bisque sauce ($43). It was very good taste and texture. However it was the smallest piece of Halibut i have ever seen at a resteraunt, and with just a miniscule amount of crab (see photo). Kids meal was 10$ for fish and chips, large potion of fries and just 1 small piece of fried rockfish. With a order of shrimp, 5 pieces, and a glass of wine all this was $110 with tip. I just do not see the value here. Not a good deal at all. I would probably say I would value this dinner at $40 max not the $110 due to the portian size.

We wanted to mix it up while we were down in Seward so we stepped into Chinooks and there was about a 30-minute wait for a family of five not too bad. Service was okay they were understaffed but the food did make up for a lot. We ended up getting some cheese curds, crab cakes, fish and chips my husband ended up getting a crab stuffed halibut in a lobster bisque which was absolutely amazing.

Our waitress was absolutely wonderful! The view of the wharf added to the great experience. The food was good but was pricy for what we got as far as flavor profile. The smoked salmon bowl had cold broccoli and it was weird with hot rice. Caribou meatloaf was amazing. Was happy with dinner but nothing to write home about.

Service was good, polite. Food was mediocre and not cheap. We got the caribou meat loaf, pesto halibut, and a seafood chowder. Everything was subpar and portions small. Soup was not very seafood-y. Halibut fillet was thin and not flavorful. Meatloaf was good but portion was small. I got broccoli instead of the canned beans and it was fresh. Not really flavored but at least it was fresh lol such a shame cus they have a nice view but the food leaves much to be desired.

Having 4 kids we looked for some place all would enjoy. The kids ended up with a cheeseburger and fries, which they loved. I had the salmon & rice bowl with pico on top. The rice was delish. The salmon was dry and overcooked. That was disappointing since it was around $30-$35. All in all it was a nice end to a long day.

Spacious place with indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered salmon rice bowl which was good. Others ordered fish & Chips. Unknowingly my son placed another order for me & the manager kindly cancelled it after I requested him. I appreciate this gesture. There is a 2 hr free parking in the public lot opposite the restaurant. It is right in the heart of Seward and hard to miss. Good place for a quick bite.

The food was basic burgers, it didn’t appear that they served anything other than premade frozen food. The shrimp dishes weren’t local.

My friend and I went here for dinner a few nights ago! We had an amazing experience. The service was fantastic and we felt super welcomed. We ordered crab and it was to die for! Literally best crab I’ve ever had. I also ordered fried cod with fries and it was also delicious. Definitely a must go to spot when in Seward!

I've been looking for fresh seafood since I've been here, 2 weeks, and I finally found it here. The fish and chips with Halibut is perfect, just what I was looking for. Crispy shrimp is great too!

Absolutely INCREDIBLE food with fast service! The Seafood Chowder is the best I’ve had- it’s flavorful with a perfect consistency and the addition of a bread bowl makes it sheer perfection. The shrimp were fried crispy and delicious. The Halibut and Salmon Fish and Chips were both amazing as well. I can’t recommend it enough!

I mean, if you want fish and chips, or just something basic you can get it here. It cost my son and I $50 for lunch and we drank water. Services was fantastic. But I'm not sure we will be back. Will definitely check out a few other establishments. The location and service is fantastic!

Resurrection Roadhouse is a conveniently located restaurant within the Windsong Lodge area. The menu is somewhat limited for lunch and dinner, but the food was delicious! There is also a wonderful menu of drinks. We had a delicious dinner with very tasty dessert. The waiter staff is friendly and service is very prompt. The cherry on the top is spectacular view of the snow capped mountains! If it is warm enough, I would definitely recommend sitting at the outdoor patio!

Our server did his best to give us a good experience, but there was a massive delay from the kitchen. We arrived for an early dinner at five thirty p m., successfully ordered starters, and then proceeded to wait. As the tables around us filled in with newly arriving guests who also ordered, received their food, sat around for a while, ordered dessert, received their dessert, paid their checks, and left, we continue to wait for our entrees. The server professionally and apologetically came by every ten minutes or so to either profusely apologize for the delay and assure us that our food was being plated and should be out within minutes. 90 minutes after ordering, our entrees came out, and the surf and turf was stone cold. I hated to send it back because I would actually wanted to eat dinner sometime before breakfast, but I didn't feel like eating cold grilled meat with congealed mushroom and onion glaze. Another 30 minutes later, I finally received my food, long after the other members of my family had finished their meals. Sadly, we observed the same occurrence happening to another couple with a child seated at the table next to us and saw our poor server making the rounds to apologize to other tables nearby. Meanwhile, the additional condiments that my family members who did receive hot food had requested never arrived. Aside from that, if all you want is ice water, they have a plentiful, delicious supply of it, and the refills are very prompt and timely. The bread starter was a non-starter, and the halibut and chips had potential but when it arrived it looked like about half of the portion was missing.

Overall, this is a great restaurant, but it’s a bit pricey. We had to wait 40 min for a table of 6 and then 64 min to get our food. I wasn’t impressed by that but the food was really good.

Food was good but the views are spectacular. Good selection of AK beers. Prices are less than comparable restaurants in town and the food reflects that, but not in a bad way. Good value for money, excellent staff and the views are awesome.

This restaurant has the potential to be one of the best in town. Its quiet location, appealing ambiance, and excellent views provide a great foundation. Unfortunately, a lack of consistency and what appears to be a deceptive fee structure are significantly holding it back. The primary issue is a persistent inconsistency in service and food preparation. Small but critical details are frequently missed, including incorrect salad dressings, failure to accommodate cheese preferences, and serving food at the wrong temperature. These errors, combined with discrepancies between menu prices and the final bill, suggest a lack of attention to detail that is unacceptable for a fine dining establishment. A recent experience also raised concerns about a hidden charge. I was charged a "remote destination fee," which the server vaguely explained as being related to trucking in supplies. When I identified myself as a local, I was treated with suspicion, giving me the impression that this fee is a way to unfairly charge tourists. This practice is particularly disappointing given the amount of business I have personally directed to the restaurant through my work in the local tourism industry. A high-end restaurant cannot afford to get the details wrong, tack on hidden fees, and expect to succeed long-term. I hope management addresses these issues to ensure the restaurant lives up to its full potential and maintains a positive reputation within the community.

Get the seafood Chowder. It's the best! Skip everything else The grilled beef skewers were too salty The wagyu burger tasted so bland.

TL:DR - mediocre, overpriced food and poor service. Don’t go unless you’re on a cruise. The Windsong resort is designed to cater to cruise ship guests, which we were not. We put our names on the waitlist but they forgot about us. Finally sat us when we asked why we were getting skipped. Took about 15 min to get a waitress. The food was dropped off by someone else who offered to get crushed red pepper but it never came. Our sodas and waters were never refilled. The staff focuses on keeping the large tables of cruise guests happy. The kale salad was a mountain of kale drenched with store-bought dressing and sprinkled with a few sad, store-bought croutons. The quinoa and black bean salad was a weird, mushy and crunchy paste of uncooked quinoa mixed in mashed beans. Seriously, what kitchen doesn’t know that quinoa needs to be cooked. The pizza was okay. The only good thing about dinner was the seafood chowder.

WOW! We were so pleased with our experience! We had 9:30p reservations & we were not rushed at all! The menu offered a great selection along with the daily specials. We liked the suggested wine pairing. Justin H. was very attentive & professional. The seafood was fresh & cooked perfectly. We enjoyed the chocolate cake to go-don’t skip this!

While on an Anchorage tour, a couple recommended Ray's as a good place to eat in Seward. They were not wrong. My husband and I shared oysters, seafood chowder and fish with chips. Everything was delicious and tasted so fresh. Stan, our server, was professional and friendly. He provided excellent service. Atmosphere was very pleasant. Music was just the right level so talking was very easy. And the view is incredible.

Stopped by for a large family style meal with friends. We tried many items across the menu, as well as the suggested wine pairing — everything was super delicious. We stopped in around dinner time with no reservation, and as a group of 5 we were seated in one of the best seats in the house immediately. Service was fantastic, and the whole group regarded this meal as one of the best we had in AK. I will be back given the opportunity!

We got a great booth overlooking the water and had a wonderful time!! If you are visiting Seward you should come here. HOWEVER…if you ARE NOT in a hurry, you need to intentionally order slowly because the food comes out fast. So if you’re trying to relax just order a couple things at a time and do not put in your order all at once. We ordered slowly and they didn’t rush us and we had a great time! We had lots of wine and super yummy seafood. The staff was friendly and we would def go back!

Great experience at the restaurant. Food was great, but perhaps some plating would be an elevation to the experience. Most fish come with an Asian-infused style of cooking which was really refreshing and surprising to us! Server and ambience is great nonetheless, definitely a recommended place in Seward !

We were hesitant to go based on the mixed reviews but ended up with great food. Food in Alaska is expensive, but this was by far our most expensive meal of the trip. The food was good but the presentation/plating was very sloppy. Sablefish was outstanding. A tiny basket of bread came before the meal and we were told if we wanted more it would cost $6, go the price of the meals more bread should be included. Service was lackluster.

Excellent seafood and very kind wait staff. The drinks were all excellent, we enjoyed the Miso Sablefish and Chowder the most. The fisherman’s stew and ultimate seafood linguine were also excellent. The restaurant was not overly loud, it was easy to talk to everyone at the table. The views from the restaurant were excellent and it was easy to access downtown. The waiter made good recommendations for our food and also helped advise on what to do while we were in town.

This information and visitor center for the national park is located in the heart of the town amidst all the day cruise companies. It’s easily accessible and has about two rangers helping out with the maps and other purchases. They have interactive exhibits displaying information about the history of various glaciers, people living in the fjords, and more. Can easily spend an hour there. Amelia at the front desk gave us more information about the trails available around the park. Definitely recommend it.

Visitors center was a good source for information. We stopped in for some tour information and came away with alot more. They were friendly and helpful with information. They helped us locate a great place to say for the few days we stayed in Seward.

This was an amazing time and worth every penny! Ordering tickets online was easy and the staff and Captin greeted everyone as they boarded the boat and left the boat. You can tell they love their job. The captain was very knowledgeable and active in pointing out and showing us all the wildlife and landmarks possible. The food was very delicious. The boat was very clean and maintained. Heated cabins with a view and open decks allow you to move all over the deck to catch the best views. The crew and Captain interacted with us alot and were energetic to make us feel welcome. I can't wait to take my whole family next year!

This is a small visitor center that sits in town along the marina. They have some videos that run about every 30 minutes. Very informative. There is a small gift shop as well.

Beautiful views and thoughtfully curated park experience. Lots of useful signs to explain how glaciers are formed and how climate change has caused them to recede dramatically in last 150 years. Trails are very well maintained and sign-posted. Must visit for kids of all ages. I ❤️ our Park Service & Rangers!

Different from other visitors center this one is located in the small harbor of the town seward. So plenty of options to get food or drinks or a tour nearby.

A beautiful visitor center. I recommend watching the movie. Staff is helpful and friendly. There are many options on seeing g glaciers, wildlife, and the Harding Ice Sheet.

Fantastic place to take the family out for a day on the water.

The harbour is well located on the main Seward street, however, it doesn't have a good arrangement for people standing in queue and you will get drenched in rain while waiting to board the cruise. Carry an umbrella and it will definitely be of help. The place itself is very scenic and beautiful, so a must visit!

Port Harbor in Alaska is a stunning spot, surrounded by mountains that seem to hover over the water. The cruise ship anchored in the distance added a majestic touch. We even spotted a sea otter right at the port. Truly a beautiful and memorable location.

Very nice place with all kinds of restaurants and little shops! Best shop is a family owned business Lighthouse gifts! Best prices!! And loved this memorial to those who died in the 1964 earthquake.

If you're looking to launch your boat or watch some wildlife then the Seward Boat Harbor is a great place to visit. The Seward Boat Harbor is a great place to launch a boat or even a kayak. The boat launch is located near the Kenai Fjords National Park Visitor Center on 4th Street and the kayak launch is located at the Northeast corner of the Seward Boat Harbor. Parking is a pain, so you will need some coins or a credit card to pay for time. The Seward Boat Harbor is home to wildlife including sea otters. If the sun is bright you can see fry swimming in gigantic numbers below the catwalks. Occasionally a bald eagle will sit on a tall light pole looking for fish too. The Seward Boat Harbor is a great resource, but the sad reality is the expansion many years ago removed a significant amount of beach. The beach was a great place to snag King Salmon. While the fishing near the Seward Boat Harbor isn't the same the expansion did modernize and expand the Seward Boat Harbor capacity.

The color of the water here is so beautiful! Try to plan your visit on a sunny day, you won't regret it!

We were pleasantly surprised to find so many vegetarian options at Woody Thai Kitchen in Seward — and even more surprised by how amazing everything tasted! We ordered the Panga Curry, Pineapple Fried Rice, and kids’ noodles, and every dish was packed with flavor and clearly made with care. The taste was far above average — absolutely delicious 🤤. Prices seemed a bit high at first, but the portions are huge, so it’s actually great value. No wonder this place is so popular — it totally deserves the hype! A must-visit for Thai food lovers, especially if you’re vegetarian

Good Thai food. Portions are larger sized but apt for the high prices. Service was good, friendly but slow. It took us close to an hour to get our food, although there wasn’t any wait time to get a table. They had a separate vegan menu, which was nice to see. Would recommend this place while you are here in Seward and craving some delicious food!

Really tasty Thai cuisine! I got the chicken pad thai and appreciated that I could customize the spiciness level (I got level 5- the most spicy). The food has a nice kick and the portion size was large. Perfect for anyone who is looking for a big meal to fill up on after a long day of activity. I'd happily come back and it's definitely worth a try if you are craving Thai!

Our Airbnb host recommended Woody’s. It was excellent! Portions are large and more than enough for a couple to share (if you can agree on a menu item;-) ). Was a busy time but the staff and kitchen staff were extremely efficient and we received or order in a timely matter. We definitely recommend!

The atmosphere was very nice. The spring rolls were tasty and crunchy. However, make sure to check if dishes are spicy before you order. Many of the dishes are quite spicy or sweet. Pretty good overall though.

I’ve been to this Thai restaurant in Seward twice now, and both times it was packed, which says a lot! It’s clearly a local favorite, and for good reason. I tried both the Panang and Red Curries, and they were absolutely fantastic. I like a good kick, so I went with spice level 4, and it hit the perfect balance—hot enough to satisfy but not overwhelming. The Drunken Noodles were just as amazing—bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and cooked just right. What really stood out was how helpful the staff were. They made great recommendations and took time to explain the dishes and spice levels. That kind of service goes a long way, especially in a busy spot. On top of that, the prices were very fair—something that’s hard to come by in Seward, where restaurants are usually pretty expensive. Highly recommend if you’re looking for flavorful, authentic Thai food with great service and solid value.

Very good tacos! My personal favorite are the Rock Fish, tacos with beans and rice. The carne asada tacos are pretty darn good as well. This is a small restaurant, but they have plenty of tables. The customer service is good and the food comes out pretty fast. One of my new favorite places to come for dinner when I’m working in Seward.

Awesome rockfish tacos! The best bang for your buck in Seward, super reasonably priced. Service was great and very fast order fulfillment! Tacos were so good we had to order more! They also have a cooler with cups for free water which was a nice touch. We didn’t check this place out until the last day of our trip, but if we had been there sooner we would have been back!

EXCELLENT fish tacos, and the staff were very kind and quick and the music was super fun! they had delicious unique taco sauces too. seriously can’t recommend enough!!

At first, I thought the Tacos were a little overpriced. But man, they were fresh and damn good. You can tell this food isn't from the freezer! Only down side is you have to go to the pub to get a beer and there is extremely limited seating. They will call you through a window on the pub side if you want to hang out there and eat! I had the hot rod!

Oh this burrito was GOOD! I will be thinking about it for a while 🌯 seasoned to perfection, cheese melty and gooey, smoky and sweet elote, soft tortilla with a bit of chewyness.... literally nothing more I could want in a burrito, 10/10 would recommend

Quick service and good tasting good. The salsa bar had some very interesting options and they were super flavorful and spicy!

Had pescado (rockfish) burrito ($13), husband had pollo (chicken) burrito ($13), and we shared a carne asada (steak) taco ($4.50). All of it was delicious. The burritos are large. The taco is small so you will need a few of them to make a meal. They have a small area where you can choose your salsa. The mild was also delicious. I didn’t try the others. I gave four star for atmosphere only because of the death metal music.

Came here for beer and dinner. I really enjoyed the Milk Stout and my husband was delighted with his White Fang Hefe. We decided to split the Tuscan Raider pizza. He loved it and I enjoyed the pizza, but found it hard to enjoy it with the burnt marks, but not really burnt marks? It was like black smoke dust on it. I would rip off the pieces and give it to my husband because it would just ruin the taste for me. The waitress was awesome, though. Amazing memory, checked on us, and was on top of it!

I came here yesterday for dinner with my husband and in laws. It was nice that we could get a table right away without a reservation. There weren’t many food items on the menu. My father-in-law got a glass of beer that smelled like fruit punch; I don’t remember what it was called lol but he loved it (he even bought the store souvenir glasses). We got pretzels and cheese fries as starters. The cheese fries were on the special menu. You have to scan the qr code on the menu to see it. They were good—not outstanding but good. I went with the Bao Down as an entree. The buns were soft. The fish was nice, not fishy at all. The others got pizzas. I didn’t try theirs but they seemed to enjoy it.

So walked in without reservations, with a large group. They very professionally got us a table and the service was top notch. Food is very good, beer is very good. It is worth a meal or two if you are in Seward.

I’m a little indifferent about this place. When I go out to eat, I generally expect to be impressed or just feel at least somewhat satisfied. We came to this place looking for the fish tacos that everyone had been posting about in the reviews, but arrived to see that they had changed the menu to be more of an Asian fusion and then there was also ‘gourmet’ wood fired pizza. I ordered the mango cider, and this was the only thing that impressed me from what we ordered on the menu. For an appetizer we had the loaded homies, and the Gorgonzola really ruined the flavor. It’s all we could taste. For an entree we shared the dad’s micro dosing pizza which, reading the ingredients, sounded amazing. But tasting it, it was just so plain. It’s missing the ‘wow’ factor that I really thought that these ingredients could deliver. Our server was very kind and attentive, so I greatly appreciate her for that. The food was just really lacking for us and made us disappointed to have spent our money here as the first dining experience for us in Alaska.

NOTE: They are currently closed for the season. They will be reopening in May 2023. Seward Brewing Company has to be probably my second favorite restaurant in town. We got food from quite a few places in Seward when we were in town back in June 2022, but SBC is probably my second favorite out of all the ones we tried. The overall vibe of the restaurant is gorgeous and modern. 2 floors of seating so they can accommodate a lot of people. The service was super friendly! Our waitress was very attentive to us, gave great menu suggestions since we were new people to town, and had a great attitude! As for the food, I got the Regular Rudy pizza and it was amazing! The crust is crispy and the toppings are crazy hot and fresh! Overall, if you ever make it out to Seward in the summer time, hit up this place! Great food, service, and beer lists! I’ll definitely come back here the next time I make it out to Alaska.

Seated our group of 8 quickly. Good beer selection on tap. Food was good, not great, but still a good option when seeking an alternative to high-end seafood while in Seward. My pizza came out well, but saw a few with a little more char on the crust than I care for.

Fiona was amazing and loved all the sports playing.. all taps except one was Alaskan beer! And the amazing Fiona makes a perfect pour!!!

No complaints on this bar. Had some great beer options on draft. Accepts credit cards which was nice compared to others nearby that are cash only. Also has pool and darts and a selection of board games.

I have consistently recommended this establishment to my guests throughout the season. However, my recent experience was disappointing. I stopped in to play a quick game of pool while waiting on laundry, and the bartender informed me that I could not use the pool table without purchasing a drink. When I declined, I was asked to leave. After sending numerous customers here over the season, I felt that this response showed a lack of appreciation and poor customer service. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will no longer be recommending this business.

We stopped in to grab a quick bite & drink before a tour but being a holiday the kitchen was closed. No big deal! The bar tender shared of a few close by options that we could bring in. So we tried out a recommended food truck & came back to eat & have a few drinks. Good atmosphere, prices were reasonable, locals were welcoming, & credit cards accepted.

Great local Alaskan options! I was able to try 3 or 4 different brews. Clean place with pool and darts. No food, but you can get food at the Mexican restaurant next door if they're open and have it at the Alehouse. Friendly service. Bartender provided local to-do options while visiting town.

Great drinks, good people behind the bar. Definitely the place to hang out! And if you're hungry, there's good tacos too!

Great local bar hangout with good selection of beers on tap and local distilled spirits. They don't offer food but you can bring your own.

Good place to get a large breakfast for a good price. They are located in the small harbor. The pancakes where 8 inches and about an inch thick. Definitely more than enough to fill me up.

Really good food! Everything smelled delicious! We all got filled. Their food was made freshly for us and tasted like it was made in house. We had really service too- they were understanding of our kiddos. Their cinnamon rolls and raspberry cream bear paws are done of the best we have had! A must stop!

An unassuming cafe from the outside. A great community and some amazing food on the inside. The breakfast burrito and the apple fritter were amazing. My family also really enjoyed the biscuit sandwich and the fried egg sandwich (but I think the burrito is the winner). Everyone, including the patrons, were so kind and talkative. It really made the experience great. Highly recommend stopping here if you come to Seward.

Very good breakfast! I had a bagel breakfast sandwich and my husband had pancakes - we both felt full and actually didn’t eat lunch as we weren’t hungry. Wonderful employees and very friendly gentleman running things. This is a busy place and items are cooked as you order, so don’t go in thinking this is “fast food”; definitely worth the wait. Breakfast served til 11, then lunch items; closes at 2. They also have bakery/donut shop items and the cinnamon roll is delicious!

I've debated about leaving a review for Lighthouse cafe and bakery. I did a google search, as I typically do for the various town/cities we visit, for sourdough bakery. Lighthouse Bakery came up. Then we walked around Seward and I saw it. The first time we looked in it was busy, two young girls were selling chocolate chip cookies outside and we happily bought two. But I didn't see many pastries and absolute no loaves of read. It was between 10-11 am and I thought that perhaps they were just already out. Then this morning we visited again for breakfast. As stated in some other reviews the counter man has opinions that he isn't shy about sharing, but I thought that, because I also love Jesus Christ the Lord, there might be some kinship. But there wasn't. He just seemed a bit angry and quite disgruntled. We ordered two breakfasts - both with eggs over easy. The menu indicated that my breakfast came with choice of bread. When I asked about sourdough bread the counter man said that they only have white bread and the indication was that that's the only bread they ever have (and I should be happy with it). We also requested orange juice, which turned out to be something like Tang orange beverage. When we received our breakfasts (order at the counter then they bring it to you when ready) one was scrambled eggs and the other over easy. Husband said he'd take the scrambled, so we switched the bacon with the reindeer sausage because there was a line at the counter and in some of the reviews it indicates that asking for corrections is greeted caustically. The cinnamon rolls and other pastries were plentiful at this time of day (about 8:30 am) and we got some to go for breakfasts tomorrow and possibly beyond. They are quite large and the little bits that stuck to the bag when I transferred them to an air tight container were tasty, so I'm hopeful for future meals. So three stars seems a middling experience.

This is the place to eat breakfast while in Seward! The very few places that are open for breakfast are over priced tourist traps. Not the Lighthouse! They serve a great breakfast at very reasonable prices. The folks at the counter are friendly and helpful. We will come back again!

Walked in, ordered at the counter, and my food was brought to me at the table. Very friendly and pleasant staff. The chicken wrap was good flavor wise, cubed chicken with diced tomatoes, lettuce and lots of ranch. But it was “wrapped” very loosely so it fell apart when I started to eat it.

Reindeer burrito was good, but nachos were horrible! Everyone’s side of nachos were stale to the point of breaking your teeth. I ordered halibut nachos and had about 2-3 tablespoons of meat and about 4 chips weren’t stale and I was able to eat them.

went for lunch and tried the halibut burrito, it has great flavor and the atmosphere was friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and for families with kids as the menu and venu is child friendly.

This was a great find near the harbor. We had a halibut burrito which was amazing. My daughter thought the kids bean and cheese burrito was too spicy but my husband and I enjoyed her leftovers. They have great salsa and a couple tap beers. There are 2 other restaurants attached so your whole party could pick and choose if they liked.

Halibut blackened tacos were excellent! The tofu burrito with aloha salsa was extraordinaire ❤️

Good restaurant to have a fast meal. We are a family of 8. We ordered kids burritos along with some tacos and a reindeer burrito. We enjoyed the meal and the swift service. Cashier and cooks ensured that we were seated with our water cups while we wait. I would recommend this place to eat.

Great place next to the pier to get a bite before boarding the cruise. Told them I was taking a cruise in 10mn and they were super quick with making my order. Cashier/cook very nice and super helpful even went into the kitchen to finish our order.

Good enough to eat here 2 days in a row. I got the Greek burrito (after much hesitation for might be obvious reasons). It did not disappoint! They have a unique selection of burritos that I would love to try. This is together with the crab place and pizza place in the same location. So convenient for a group that doesn't know what they want. 😄 Between yesterday and today, we tried all 3 restaurants and they were all fabulous! Highly recommend! Very friendly staff too! 😁

If you’re visiting Seward, this is a must visit. We ordered a venison burger and a bacon cheese burger with fries. Check out how much bacon was on the burger - it was at least 4-5 layers. The food was delicious AND a school bus to eat in??? Very cool. This place is awesome. 10/10 recommend

Went there around lunchtime and ordered 3 burgers-two bacon and one cheese. $60 plus tip. Didn't take too long to get the food (wasn't too busy) and overall, a good amount of seating. The burgers were maybe like 1/4" thick and overcooked, the bacon tasted and looked like it was cooking in burnt, dirty grease, and the burgers just tasted super bland. I'll repeat this part because for $60 total, I would hope to have a good serving size but the meat patty was way too thin and overcooked. I did however love the fries. Tastiest fries I've had in a while. I'll probably try a different spot next time.

Great burgers and fries place and I'm a burger snob. If you want a good burger in Seward this is your place. Very nice folks to boot. Seating is a bit odd albeit comfortable in an old school bus. To feed a family of five, it was $79.00... Everything in Alaska is expensive so it's average prices. Wife and daughter for fish (cod) and chips. They really liked theirs too. Highly recommend this place if your in the Burger of fish and chips mood.

Really cool little place. We originally sat down at a restaurant by the water and after looking at the menu we knew it wasn't for us. We left there and stumbled upon this place. This was sooo much better. I got a burger and a couple other got fish and chips. The food was great and we sat outside because the weather was perfect. The little bus as a seating area was a cool touch. They had a good menu and a big selection of shakes. I got a boring vanilla one but it was really thick and tasty. The staff was really friendly and they were busting their butts to get the food out fast. I definitely suggest tryinng them out.

We ordered Red’s #1 burger with Maple Bacon and an Elk Cheese Burger for to-go. The burgers were delicious, fries tasted great, with generous serving size and fresh ingredients. The prices were decent for the huge portion we got. They can get pretty busy during dinner so there’s a bit of a wait but it was worth it!

Absolutely worth a stop — excellent value by Alaska standards! The food is tasty and those fries… seriously delicious!

This is a MUST SEE National Park! Stunningly dramatic landscapes that are picture perfect, beautiful glaciers, plentiful wildlife. For me, this National Park was the highlight of my entire vacation. It is quintessential Alaska! The best way to see the park will be to take a boat tour out of Seward. I recommend Major Marine Tours.

Certainly up there in the list of national parks. Certainly not your average national park where youbhike around and get wonderful views. Here you normally take now if the cruise options, kayak, or helicopter in to see things. I decided to go with kenjai Fjords tour to the northwestern glacier with wildlife sightings and Certainly was nit disappointed

This was an amazing adventure. I highly recommend this for everyone who's traveling in the area of Seward Alaska. Our group went out on the boat to experience the glacier. What we experienced was not only an amazing glacier but other wildlife including whales, seagulls seals. This was an amazing experience and I highly recommend this for everyone. The photos don't do the area Justice as it is the most beautiful area I've seen in Alaska. You're definitely immersed into the sea with nature.

My wife and I just completed the leisurely 1.8 mi (2.9 km) glacier overlook loop. It was absolutely amazing and perfect for pictures. Would recommend to families, beginners, and people looking for an easy hike.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip. I saw a few wildlife, including a whale. However, be prepared for sea sickness. It was a memorable experience.

Beautiful spot! Parked at their waterfront camper spots and enjoyed the scenery for a few days. There are some great hikes near by, their cafe serves a killer fish&chips. It’s a good vibe and a well ran place! Highly recommend going on a fishing charter. I had a blast and will be eating freshly caught fish for weeks 😋

Visited Miller's Landing from 9 to12 August 2025: Captain's Cabin Accommodation and Captain's Choice Kayaking. kayaking: With Emma as our guide we kayaked the Northwestern Fjord leading to the the Northwestern Glacier. Emma did a fantastic job keeping us safe and showing us the lay of the land and water. From humpback whales, seals, puffins, and the groaning of the glacier slowly grinding its way to the sea, we saw and heard it all. Thank you Emma. And thank you for sharing the link with pictures from the day. Captain's Cabin: Well. Let's just say the Captain's Cabin was Rustic. Very Simple. Basic needs met. Had interesting neighbors

We did a full day glacier kayaking tour last summer. It was the most expensive activity in our entire Alaska adventure. We saw beautiful nature and I have no doubt the guides were working hard, however- there was not an appropriate gear check in before leaving. My travel buddy and I are experienced outdoors women, but we opted to pay $$$ to have guides take us into areas where we are unfamiliar- sea kayaking. On their website they say that they have everything you need for your tour. When we left, there was not a single mention of clothing. No one checked our set ups to see if we were adequately prepared. One family in our group was decked out in denim, and my adventure partner had a down jacket and didn’t realize how poorly that would perform. When we arrived on time, we waited without anyone checking in with us. Plenty of people were around and seemed busy, but no one approached or filled us in on what was going on until eventually my friend had to go ask what was happening. As the day progressed, my friend started to become hypothermic, to the point where she was crying and in a lot of pain. She was truly scared. The guides offered her their ONE extra layer, which was thankfully enough for her. The mom of the other family told us that her sons asked her if they were going to die. Luckily, this family was extremely tough and NEVER complained and got through it unscathed, but the outcome could’ve been very different with a different family. When we got closer to the glacier, we then realized we couldn’t get very close because of the wind coming off and the risk of ice calving off. Then a BOAT with a motor went right past us and got up super close to the glacier. We were stunned. Definitely should’ve taken that boat and paid a fraction of the price. Also, the boat did not slow down at all to look at puffins or wildlife in either direction. The boat driver seemed pretty weathered and borderline annoyed to be ferrying us to the kayak put in. All in all, it was a not a great operation and we were pretty disappointed. 2/5 stars because I do think the guides were trying pretty hard but were not set up for success. Would not repeat.

We stayed at the Birch cabin on Miller's Landing and it was perfect. The cabin was clean and blankets were provided(also clean). The restrooms and shower - well maintained - were on the main building other side of the road and easy to access. The location is to die for, we saw 2 bald eagles and river otters as we were leaving!

We did a full day fishing charter. Our family group of 4 had so much fun and we caught lots of fish. What really made the trip fun was the incredible deck hands, both Owen and Logan. Super friendly, energetic and hard working especially with all of us who seldom going fishing.was amazing from start to finish. We caught silver salmon, halibut and rockfish. Logan and Owen love their jobs! We will definitely use them again on our next trip. Maybe very shortly, again. From the May family.

I have worked with Miller's landing for both work and play reasons and absolutely loved it every time! I've had couples book their water taxi for weddings and photoshoots in Thumb Cove and Fox Island and beyond, I've stayed in their dry cabins (The Viking Seaside) and at their camp sites, and I've done a kayaking tour and a Fourth of July Kayaking tour turned water taxi due to weather. Every single time they've been so kind, easy to work with, and just all around awesome! Highly recommend them if you'll be in Seward and want a fun adventure or a very Alaskan place to stay!

Wow! What a spectacular piece of beauty we got to experience at Miller's Landing!! Highly x 1,000,000 recommended! We stayed in the "Full Ocean Yurt" and it was incredible. Breathtaking views! And the amenities were really good. My only comment is that if you go in the summer, take a sleep mask as the skylight has no way of "closing" and therefore it was very light! We also got to take our doggie with - which we always appreciate.

It was voluminous and wonderful waterfall right at the edge of the town. We spotted it from our cruise trip to the glacier. You can take your car right next to it. The water gushes down with force and it’s impossible to miss it. Check it out if you are in town.

Beautiful waterfall! It’s amazing to see the sheer force and volume of water cascading down from the mountains—truly astonishing.

Won’t recommend visiting till the construction is completed. Too much dust and nothing to see

fun place to chill. definitely an old building and it smells musty when you first walk in but you get used to it. apparently the story behind the dollars is sailors would want to reserve money for drinks when they got back into port and would post money aside with their names. now it’s just a silly tradition! they will give you markers if you want to put a dollar up.

Local rustic Alaskan bar with history and a lot of character! Bartender was very nice and makes a great Margarita. I usually take my friends here for a drink and the experience, they've never been disappointed. They only offer a snack menu, but we only go there for the atmosphere and drinks, usually go to Highliner or Rustic Goat nearby for food.

We arrived in town and some time to kill before checking into our Airbnb. The Seward Brewery does not open till 5. Yukon was pretty packed and only 1 bar tender but all in all it was a cool place to hang and people watch. Draft beer and shot if Crown $15.

The bartender there is very rude. Better go to bar which is next to it they are so welcoming and service is good too..

I had a great time at the Thursday night dance party with DJ Waitwat!! So much fun and the drinks are good too!

The Yukon Bar is Seward's local dive bar. There were a lot of locals - some colorful characters, all were nice to us tourists. We're glad to have stopped here because we had a great time. My drink (old fashion) was pretty bad, but the atmosphere was so fun. There is one pool table, a juke box, live music, a ceiling full of dollar bills from past visitors, a very eclectic collection of odds and ends that decorate the bar, offensive bathroom graffiti, and a small but cute highlight - a quarter-collecting panda that sits at the bar. I recommend stopping by if you are in town and dive-bars are your thing.

Quite possibly the worst cocktail waitress of all time. We were there on July 3rd, they had only two employees working and the waitress ignored us. Did not bring us any drinks. And moved incredibly slow. So slow, that we found it so annoying, that we left. It’s a cool Alaskan bar but AWFUL service. Would never go back

The halibut n chips were excellent, hot and crispy and ample portions but the jewel on the menu was reindeer sausage soup. Super delicious creamy and flavored with herbs and a pinch of red pepper with big chunks of savory meat and potatoes. Just what I needed after a rainy and chilly day. Six Alaska beers on tap and a half dozen wines. Service was excellent. It’s clean and comfy. The restaurant was not busy and we were seated immediately. We will be back. The reggae music was a bit loud but didn’t interfere with conversation.

Chattermark is a great restaurant in Seward, though it can get quite busy, especially when cruise ships are in town, which makes the restaurant get a bit loud. That said, the food was very good. I had the Battered Halibut and Chips, which was excellent, crispy, flavourful, and definitely worth recommending. My partner ordered the burger and felt it was slightly on the dry side, but still decent overall. A solid choice if you’re looking for a good meal in a lively spot.

Music wasn't too loud. It was clean. and the food excellant. Portions were big enough to fill you up without being overstuffed. We had the signature fish and chips which came with a piece of breaded salmon and a breaded piece of halibut.

Well it's one of the places where everyone is trying to do everything. The servers tried to do their best. We had I think 2 or 3 of them because they kept changing and coming and asking the same questions. And the food? If you don't care about your money or the quality of the food then this is the perfect place for you.

It was extremely disappointing. Everything was completely lacking in flavor and any creativity from the chef. Quinoa, salad, and blueberries with a sour sauce — plus fish! $35 for this? Zero harmony, zero taste. My husband and son ordered burgers, and they were so bland and unsalted that they had to drown them in ketchup just to make them edible!

Nice clean environment. I loved the salmon and halibut wall carvings. Anyway, I don't normally eat fried foods, but I love both halibut and salmon, so I ate what my sons ate- namely fish and chips. It was delicious I must say.

We are a french couple looking for a nice place to eat...we went 3 Times in 24h. We started with the Alaskan board plate and it was delicious. Then we tried the other dishes that sound more european. We gonna be honnest, it has a taste of home for sure but it has the special touch that makes it unique. Do not under estimate the sandwiches they are way better than most of these you can find in France. Obviously we loved it. The place is really lovely and warming , the view on the sea makes you spend a relaxing moment.

My friends and I were visiting Seward for 1 week and we literally went here 3-4 times, it’s THAT good!! Highly highly recommend their hot apple cider and roast beef sandwich. It was probably the best roast beef sandwich I’ve had in my life!!! The vibes are great and everyone there is super nice. Located in downtown Seward so it was convenient too.

Charming, Cozy, and Absolutely Worth a Stop! Stopped in because the place looked adorable, and it absolutely was! The atmosphere had such great energy and a welcoming vibe, with a fabulous view that made the experience even better. I ordered the wine flight and picked out my own wines, each one was fantastic, with rich flavors and perfect pours. The staff were wonderful, friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. Matt waited on us, and he was a true highlight, knowledgeable, witty, and fun to chat with, making the whole visit even more enjoyable. If you’re in the area, this spot is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Completely adored this restaurant and gift shop! We enjoyed two wine flights and the Alaskan charcuterie board. The black cod and salmon smears were delicious and the smoked black cod pieces were also amazing! It was super nice to have some gluten free cracker and bread options too. Their space is so cute and quaint and private…but then grand at the same time, as their window view is incredible. The staff were so nice and really knowledgeable about the area, which was super helpful. We saw orcas while enjoying the delicious wine and food!

Stopped here for a quick bite. It's conveniently located just down from the sealife center and has a great view. The sandwiches were perfect size and tasted amazing. We were in port for the day on a cruise and there's a free city shuttle service that will take you from the cruise terminal to just down the street.

This was a great quick breakfast with a water+mountain backdrop. The staff were friendly and helpful. The warm apple cider and capers sandwich was just about perfect.

We were looking for creative fish options while in town. The bagel sandwich (salmon or cod) was really good! I guess I expected like a fillet on a bagel but it was a more of schmear and it was delightfully flavorful. Great price too. Cute little seating and vibe. Local artists on the wall is always good. Beware, the ginger beer hits like Tyson!
