Shopping mall
Shopping
Bayshore Mall is the largest indoor shopping center within a 150-mile radius of Eureka, offering a mix of big-name box stores and local vendors. The mall features a variety of dining options including a spacious food court and nearby restaurants. While some visitors note that the signage could be improved, many appreciate the cleanliness and availability of clean restrooms. Despite some closures, there are still great stores with helpful staff to explore.
It's a good place to do small shopping. Wish it had more places which I've heard is in the works. Just wish TJ Maxx and the Walmart opened their interior gates. Such an inconvenient pain to have to walk all the way to the back of the Mall to get to Walmart.
Draggy76 — Google review
This place is a sad place, most of the store fronts are closed as with the food court. There is maybe 3 food places still open. You can’t get to Walmart through the mall anymore. Walmart has closed it off. And it seems like every month a new store is closing its doors in the mall. Thyme should turn the mall into housing for the homeless or low income or better yet turn it into a community recreation center with a swimming pool!
Ashley P — Google review
It used to be so much fun to shop here! But, thanks to the rental increases from the owner, most businesses can't survive at the mall anymore. Something needs to change. Malls are coming back in so many cities around the country. Lower the rent, repair the grounds, and watch it flourish once again.
Rachel S — Google review
Lower the rent thing for the other stores, WHY did you take away my favorite stores?!?! The Arcade?! WHY IT WAS SO FUN :( It seems sad, I only go here for the Walmart and hot topic. I LOVED THE ARCADE, and listen I loved the other store I forgot what It's called but it was orange and the bags said something like "Thanks for buying from this store" And the store name, It sold Avatar the last Airbender stuff and The legend of korra things and other less known games and shows/anime figures. WHY DID YOU TAKE IT AWAY FROM MEEEEEEEEEEE!! Also it is slowly dying bro why is the person who made it getting greedier by the years?? BRING back the arcade!!!!!! WHY DID YOU GO LIKE "Bye bye DMV" AND REMOVED THE DMV?? Ross dress for less is good, the Walmart is good and all..IF THEY TAKE AWAY GAMESTOP YOU WONT SEE ME AGAIN SHOPPING HERE IM JUST SAYING. ITS NOT OKAY TO REMOVE SO MUCH STORES OVER THE YEARS BROCHACCO. I'm telling you cause what..HOW do you even think its good to take away good stores and keep the mid ones-?? Tell me why bro tell me why. Food court is good I guess, I don't eat there I eat at home but others seem happy when I see them eat there. TO MAKE UP FOR THE EMPTY STORES, GHOST MALL, PLEASE ADD NEW ONES OR DIFFERENT ONES PLEASE I SWEAR IF YOU DONT AND LEAVE IT THE SAME IM NEVER COMING BACK HERE EVER AGAIN BRO :<
Urbosa's F — Google review
We went to this shopping center as we were passing through to visit the Walmart, which was by far the smallest and worst stocked Walmart I have ever seen. Extremely small food section and very poorly designed parking lot. Would not recommend wasting your time if passing through, just keep driving to Crescent City.
Justin B — Google review
The mall is very small and doesn't feel like a mall. It's a sad mall but it's better to have what few stores they have then none at all. I wish they would just build a new mall and add stores to eureka.
Alicia L — Google review
The arcade and the cotton candy machine in the food court are the best parts of this mall. Many stores are vacant and the ones that are open are pricey. It closes way early, but there's plenty of parking!
Janet L — Google review
40 percent empty but fits the area needs and it's the only mall for 4 hours so it needs to stay

Recently I was in need of new bedding. I stopped in my local Kohl's as they usually have something I love. I found more than I was looking for. All items were on sale and the coupons were great. The best part of my trip were two of the sales people. Paige made sure I found the best deals and directed me to some items I wouldn't have found. She is an absolutely lovely person........and very good at her job. I'd also like to mention Jordan. When he noticed I was struggling with some large comforters and a rug, he jumped in (out of nowhere) and helped me. He even took all my items to checkout while I looked at shoes. It was about 5 minutes until closing. Because of his help, I was able to find a pair of boots I love. Thanks so much to both of them. I would even go back just to say hi.

Fort Humboldt State Historic Park

State park
Nature & Parks
Historical landmark
Fort Humboldt State Historic Park, located on a high cliff overlooking Humboldt Bay, was once a military post established in the mid-1800s to mediate conflicts between gold-seeking settlers and local Native American tribes. Today, it houses a historical museum dedicated to the fort's story and the region's indigenous people. The park also features a logging museum with outdoor displays of logging equipment, trains, and an authentic Native American dug-out canoe.
This is a great little stop in Eureka. There is a nice trail that takes you around the fort and you get all the history and some exercise. It sits atop a hill and overlooks the town.
Robert O — Google review
A wonderful historic park. Well-maintained green space with wonderful signs full of both sides of the history of the area. My only critique was the 2 signs on the side closest to the big busy road were sun-bleached and nearly impossible to read...maybe put them on the other side of the path. Family had a wonderful time: kids scampered around, and the grown-ups got to learn all about the history of the area. Easy walking path with tons of signs and info about a time gone by, both for the fort and the timber industry. I appreciate that it was open by 8am, and there was no homeless wandering about or camping. Come check it out!

It's a Bitter Sweet experience. As a kid I loved it, the little logger cabin, etc. Now that I'm older and they have recently added plaques around the site explaining what really happened when Bucks Port "Eureka" was founded. I'm glad that they did that it was a long time coming. It's a awesome place to fly a kite and walk Your dog on a sunny day. I suggest it if your from out of the area and want to learn some of the history of Humboldt County. Enjoy
HIPPIE — Google review
Small park with remnants of the old fort. There are signs explaining the history of each building and place.

Great for a short walk and nice history lesson. WOW the logging info! Artifacts about logging and the antique rail system. About half a mile walk around but parts are gravel so not wheel chair friendly. Bathrooms are clean. Parking is close.
Kelly F — Google review
Fort Humboldt State Historic Park in Eureka is one of the most meaningful and historic places in all of Humboldt County, and every visit here feels like stepping into the story of the region. Sitting on a bluff overlooking Humboldt Bay, the park gives you sweeping views of the water while surrounding you with grassy fields, towering trees, and the remnants of a place that played a major role in the area’s history. It is quiet and peaceful today, but walking through the grounds you cannot help but imagine the lives of the soldiers, settlers, and Native people whose stories are tied to this land. The highlight of the park is the restored hospital building, the only original structure still standing from when the fort was active in the mid 1800s. Inside, you can explore exhibits that tell the story of the fort, its military presence, and the difficult and often tragic history of the time. The displays cover both the soldiers stationed here and the conflicts with local Native tribes, offering a raw look at a period that shaped Humboldt’s past. It is not always an easy history to face, but it is an important one, and the museum does a good job of helping visitors understand the weight of what happened here. Beyond the hospital, the grounds are dotted with interpretive signs and reconstructed buildings that give you a sense of what the fort looked like when it was active. Old logging equipment and displays about Humboldt’s timber history are also featured, tying together the military past with the industries that later defined the area. Walking through the park feels like a mix of history and nature, with wide open grassy spaces that are perfect for picnics, quiet trails to wander, and benches where you can sit and take in the view of the bay. The park also has a strong connection to the cultural history of the local tribes. Exhibits and information panels share the perspective of the Native peoples who lived here long before the fort, reminding visitors that this was and still is their land. It adds a necessary and powerful layer to the experience, giving a fuller picture of the past. What makes Fort Humboldt stand out to me is how it blends beauty with history. On one hand, it is a gorgeous, open park where you can walk, relax, and take in the views. On the other, it is a historic site that forces you to pause and think about the stories of conflict, survival, and change that happened here. That balance makes it one of the most unique and important spots in Eureka. For me, Fort Humboldt is not just a park but a place of reflection. Every time I visit I enjoy the beauty of the setting, but I also leave with a deeper understanding of the history that shaped Humboldt County. It is a landmark that locals and visitors alike should take the time to explore because it holds lessons, stories, and perspectives that are too important to forget.

Good place to get a view of the bay. Big sky to watch the clouds. Big groomed grassy area to walk. Many people walk their dogs here. Has bathroom and old historical information.

Nicely kept grounds - impressive history. We love finding out what happened in the old west as it was settled - it's amazing what culture there used to be in this area. It's super sad to read about some of the things that happened to the natives in the area as well. Excellent place to take a walk and learn a little history.

Guests rave about the cozy atmosphere reminiscent of classic hometown pubs, making it an ideal spot for enjoying delicious dishes like Reuben Fritters and fish tacos.
Best fish and chips in town, or anywhere else I've encountered for that matter. We also had the Reuben sandwich and fish tacos w which were also delicious. Fried cheese curd appetizers were scrumptious. Highly recommend this place!

They seated me and my partner at our table by the door, so there were flies passing by every once in a while from the door being open. Then they took a long time to get our drinks, took a long time to bring the drinks. Got my clam chowder for my meal before our appetizer. Didn’t get checked on nor did we get offered any refills.. Probably took 50 minutes or so to get an appetizer. By that point we just asked our entrees to go. Then they didn’t communicate with each other, so when someone else brought our food on the plates I had to ask again for it to go.. Their food was good at home I guess. Just not our ideal date. You can see how it started at the restaurant with the plates, then put in to Togo boxes so we could leave. Gordon Ramsey would’ve been disappointed lol.

Great little Irish style restaurant/ pub. It's was busy and lined up but our hostess was very accommodating in getting us table Bar- asked for a traditional whiskey sour, flavour WA good but execution and presentation were not up to industry standard . Food - typical Irish place. They had some great appetizers and tasty for sure. Our dinners were served cold though. Sad Atmosphere- great spot cool place. Some decent Irish decor Service - again our hostess was amazing serving is the food talking to us . Our server was very standard policy order taking, must have been a long day . Execution on the service part was good to say the least . Verdict - check it out great fun spot . I'll be back 🤙

Strolling around when we stumbled in here. Upon entering has the makings of a real Irish Pub. Quickly greeted and seated. Smithwicks on tap so knew we had the right place. Ordered a Rueben and the Fish and chips. Corned beef used in the Rueben was to die for. Sandwich over the top good. Fish was pacific cod and fried perfectly. Malt vinegar brought out all the flavor and chips were perfect. Finished it off with one of the best Irish Bread pudding desserts we’ve had this side of the pond! Surrounded by a moat of heavenly caramel sauce. Fabulous lunch. Reasonably priced and great service from Kaiden! #stevensleavin!

nearly everything was phenomenal, the clams, the calamari, the scallops, even the fries were all amazing! the only thing we have disliked was the clam chowder… way too dense and not as flavourful as we had hoped. other than that very satisfied!!

Shout-out to the bartender dude who made this experience bearable. My wife and I recently visited Gallagher's, and unfortunately, our meal did not meet the standards we expected based on previous visits. We ordered the Irish potato skins, which were disappointing; it looked like bacon crumbs typically found in salads had just been dropped carelessly on top. The soda I received contained some mystery debris floating in the cup, which was unsettling. My wife's Reuben sandwich was severely burnt. I understand the difference between toasted rye and burnt rye, and this bread was definitely burnt. I ordered the Gallagher Burger with American cheese, but the cheese was missing entirely. fries were brought out instead when I ordered onion ring, When I asked for this to be corrected, they took both my burger and fries away, returning with only the burger shortly thereafter. Unfortunately, it took another 30 minutes for the onion rings to finally arrive—after I had already received the check. Furthermore, the burger patty itself seemed to have been torn apart before cooking, and there was an excessively large slab of onion placed inside, which I had to remove. The one redeeming factor of our experience was the bartender who assisted us. He clearly appeared overworked and was handling challenges posed by the new cooks very professionally. There was also a Latina server present who appeared visibly stressed and seemed annoyed when we requested ketchup; her irritation was evident both from her facial expression and the commentary she made while passing our table. The bartender kindly offered a refund for the burger due to the numerous issues, which demonstrated excellent customer service in a difficult situation. Despite this particular experience, I intend to return to Gallagher's, as I know they typically provide much better food and service. This visit seems to have been an off day for the new kitchen and serving staff.

I had the shrimp and grits. It was very good, I would order it again. The grits were very cheesy, and the shrimp were well cooked. My wife had the fish and chips, and she enjoyed that as well. She really liked the tartar sauce. We went back on my next visit to Eureka and placed the same order. They were both great. New location has a much cooler atmosphere.

This was a delightful sunset cruise in the Bay Area. The captain was entertaining, informative and we had a wonderful time meeting new people. Cocktails were available and the bay tour was interesting. A fun thing to do in Eureka if you get the chance.

This was so much fun. We did an early afternoon cruise to soak up a little sun. Our captain was fantastic. He guided the whole ride with historical and wildlife information. The boat was cozy (I think it holds only 22 passengers). Blankets were provided. Drinks were available for purchase. It's well worth doing (booking at the office kiosk is easier than using online or calling).

Perfect — let’s make this review feel like a vivid story of your trip, full of sensory detail so someone reading it feels like they’re right there with you. Here’s a more detailed, personal version: --- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Taking the Madaket Harbor Cruise ended up being one of the absolute highlights of my time on Nantucket. From the moment I stepped on board I felt completely at ease. The crew greeted everyone with huge smiles and a kind of hospitality that felt natural rather than rehearsed. They struck the perfect balance of being attentive without hovering and it really set the tone for the whole experience. The boat itself was spotless and had this relaxed charm to it. There was plenty of room to move around and the seating was comfortable whether you wanted to sit back and enjoy or stand by the railing to really take in the views. The bar on board was a nice touch too. Having a cold drink in hand while the sun dropped lower in the sky made the entire evening feel effortless. The harbor views are unforgettable. Being out on the water gave me an entirely new perspective of Nantucket. The shoreline stretched out with these gorgeous houses tucked into the landscape and the sky seemed to change colors every few minutes. Watching the sun slowly sink and paint the water in shades of gold and pink was nothing short of magical. I took more photos than I care to admit but honestly none of them captured how beautiful it felt to be there in the moment. The commentary from the crew was another highlight. They shared little bits of history and stories about the island that made the ride more than just sightseeing. I learned things I never would have picked up on my own and it deepened my appreciation for the area. It never felt like a lecture though, more like a friend telling you fun facts along the way. One of my favorite moments came when we spotted a seal bobbing in the water nearby. Instead of just cruising on, the captain slowed down so everyone could watch. People were laughing and pointing it out to their kids and it gave the whole boat this feeling of shared excitement. That kind of thoughtfulness really stuck with me. As the evening wrapped up, I realized how quickly the time had flown by. I could have easily stayed out there another hour just soaking it all in. When we docked I felt relaxed, happy, and already wishing I could do it all over again. If you are visiting Eureka's, Nantucket, do not skip this. The Madaket Harbor Cruise is the perfect mix of natural beauty, warm hospitality, and unforgettable memories. It is the kind of experience you will think back on long after you leave the island.

The group of 9 enjoyed their food. The tofu tacos satisfied me. The place is loud, typical pub/bar. Beer was reasonable to a fussy NEIPA only drinking new Yorker, and good to everyone else! The kids liked the video games in the back.

Out of this world great beers and big top notch burgers! Our bartender was excellent and you felt like you're one of the locals. We had two different burgers and they are huge and high quality with rich flavor. Great job guys!

I’m writing this mainly so that you keep up the good quality of your food and don’t lose customers just to save a few dollars. Today I ordered two burgers with fries and an extra order of fries. The extra fries were served hours earlier, since they felt hard and chewy. It bothers me that you might lose loyal weekly customers over just a few dollars. I hope you pay attention and keep up the good quality, because it’s a great place to eat.

This place was amazing just walking in aroma was everything and the atmosphere built up by all the detail, art, newspapers, figures, etc hung up and full of life instantly seated and had a super nice and lively waitress we tried the elk, black and blue, and hot brown sandwiches all were fantastic. The fried pickles and fries were super tasty as well maybe a touch more salt but that's preference great price for quantity of food would recommend and go again

We went a different brewery recently and had a generally good experience, but I would say Lost Coast Brewery & Cafe overshadows the other place in every way. Here we did a flight of beers, one taco, Baja salad and two different sandwiches. Wow, the food and beer were great and what a value compared to the other place we went to. Next time I'm in town, I'm coming back for sure.

I had a great experience!! I am staying in this special hotel the bar/restaurant is located in. The receptionist told me I might be able to bring my dog. Ben, who served me, treated my dog like a special guest! She got towels to lie on! (She loved it) and water. I got a custom made warm cocktail with brandy and the athnosphere, music, other guest, .. everything was just most lovely and cozy and warm hearted. As to the food, I enjoyed it! I had Hawaiian burgers with chicken and Parmesan and a tomato soup, and was very happy with me protein oriented healthy - good idea dish. I warmly recommend coming here!!! Don’t miss out! Super cool vibes. A fundraiser for the Kinetic Grand Championship involving karaoke was going on. Ate some amazing sliders, the board of the day, and a brownie ala mode! All delicious with plenty of leftovers even though a few people were munching on the goodies. What a delightful spot. Emily and Cheyenne were fantastic bartenders who made sure everyone was okay. They even cleaned up a mess so quickly that barely anyone noticed that another patron had knocked their drink over due to dancing exuberyummiest! Great space, will be back to enjoy the atmosphere as a patron.

Phatsy klines is one of the best restaurants in Humboldt County great service hidden gem and clean environment. Very unique design feels as though you are in the city in this tiny town of Eureka. I am obsessed with the restrooms check out all three! They are very unique also they have a cute hidden back patio area on a beautiful sunny day if you prefer eating outdoors or even enjoying some twinkly romantic lights at night.

Very cool vibe and interesting food menu. Located in the Eagle House. My review is way over do so they may not have the food choices we ordered but the experience was great and would recommend going and seeing what they offer now. My husband and I really enjoyed everything we tried and even ate the micro greens.

Where to begin! I have been here a few times now, with different groups of awesome people, and they all loved it! (As well as myself) Our wait staff every time has been phenomenal, and the food has never let us down! I enjoy that their menu pays attention to detail. It is a consistent menu, with a few daily specials! The food always looks just like the pictures, and tastes even better. The drinks are always to die for and made very well. It is a fun and clean establishment. My experience here has been consistently excellent. I love that they have vegan/vegetarian options as well and can seem to accomodate us whenever we would like to switch things up a bit! I love the Lavender Lemon Drop and their house made Garlic knotts always hit the spot.

We stopped in here for after dinner drinks before going home one evening. This place has the coolest atmosphere. We knew it would be awesome when they had a bubble machine outside the front door. Once you go inside it's like stepping into a spooky library with a bit of a steam punk meets new age vibe. I'll be honest, I have no idea how to describe it, but it is cool. Our drinks were great and the staff were awesome. I would absolutely recommend this place.

We are SOOO happy we stumbled upon this hotel and restaurant. Built in 1888 yet very modern and updated yet still kept many antiques throughout. This place is a gem and everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. We can’t wait to go back for live music. The DRINKS and FOOD are amazing! Everything made in house including all the simple syrups for their drinks. Fresh oysters from the area as well. If you want to step into history this hotel/restaurant and the surrounding area does a fantastic job.

Seafood restaurant
Jack's Seafood is a seafood restaurant located on the waterfront in Eureka, CA. The menu features fresh seafood right on the premises and an outdoor dining area overlooking Humboldt Bay. Happy hour specials are offered daily, along with local pint specials on Tuesdays. Table service and wheelchair access are available. There is also parking available.
Wow! Everything was so delicious I couldn’t stop eating. We ordered clam chowder, scallops, steamer clams and shrimp tacos - and every dish was absolutely amazing. The clam chowder was the best I’ve ever had! I only wish we were staying longer in the city so we could come back.
Maryna K — Google review
The food was good and delivered on flavor, making the meal enjoyable overall. Portions and presentation were solid, and the menu had decent variety. Service, however, did not match the quality of the food. While the waitress was polite, interactions felt rushed and lacked attentiveness. The experience could be improved with more focus on customer service.
Matt D — Google review
2 waitresses managed the restaurant they deserve kudos for doing it all. Wished the outside would have been available it was a beautiful evening. Those in our party thought the clam chowder was better than another local place we had already eaten at. The crab cakes could have more crab, less filling, and maybe a bit thicker and more brown than black, but flavor was great. Clams with linguine was different in a broth vs a creamy sauce. Grilled halibut was great. Halibut and chips were so so. The Halibut was a little thick and needed to be thinner and cooked a bit more for a good crunch and making it less soggy on the inside. Chips, aka steak fries, were great. The coleslaw needed more flavor and less mayo. Drinks were not very sweet if you like citrus, then they would suite you well. Windows to bay could use a wash. Restaurant overall was much smaller than it appeared from outside. Seafood, though, was fresh.

Its funny how the service and atmosphere can sometimes predetermine how you will feel about the food and how it tastes. Came on a Wednesday night around 6:15pm. It was a full house with 2 servers and a bartender who took tables as well. Long wait, sat down, wasn’t greeted for almost 20 minutes. She took our full order after greeting us. Our server was nice enough but running around like crazy. Took another 45 mins to get our food and by that time, I just knew we wouldn’t enjoy it as much as we should’ve/could’ve. I got the ciopinno and it was 6/10- my husband got the steak and he said 5/10 though he did like it was juicy, he said it wasn’t anything more than a normal steak. Glad we tried it but wouldn’t go back. They need more wait staff- i felt bad to give this rating cause I know how it is sometimes but for spending what we did, we just expected more.

Phenomenal food, fantastic service and a beautiful ocean view! What more could you want? My husband and I are visiting for the weekend so we decided to stop here for lunch. We ordered a bowl of the clam chowder and the crab cakes to start. Both were delicious! Hubby had the tuna melt & I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos - spectacular. The service was even better! So attentive & friendly. To wet the whistle, Hubby enjoyed a couple O’Douls and I had a yummy lemonade that wasn’t too sweet, just the way I like it! If you’re in the area, this place is a must try. 10/10 wish I would’ve taken more pictures of the fabulous food!

Pros: -Dog friendly patio—we called about 10 places with patios and none allowed. This was a win on the water too! -Amazing halibut fish and chips—I usually dont like cole slaw but theirs was amazing. The halibut was perfect and the fries were perfectly crisp. -Great service—even with our server being the only one for the whole place, she was amazing. Cons: -None

Had a great dinner! I had the halibut and hubby had the cioppino. Everything was delicious, service was excellent and a beautiful view from our table. And summer concert right outside to enjoy after dinner. Will definitely be back the next time we visit Eureka.

We are just visiting the area looking for great seafood. Tried Jack's. Every Thursday through the summer there is a concert series so parking can be a challenge. There's a big public lot, we were able to find a spot. We loved the clam chowder. My fettuccine Alfredo with crab meat was good. Hubby's poboy shrimp sandwich was a little spicy for his taste.

Caribbean restaurant
Bistro
This Caribbean restaurant is located in Old Town in Eureka and offers delicious island-inspired food such as jerk chicken and cod fritters. The outdoor patio is perfect for dining in the sunshine, and the owner was born in Barbados, making this an authentic taste of the Caribbean.
My husband and I were traveling through and decided to try this AMAZING restaurant in Eureka. Taste of Bim did not disappoint. The food was fresh, locally sourced, and was absolutely delicious. I had the fried chicken and it was so flavorful, including the rice and peas, and the veggies! Don’t get a salad! My husband had the oxtail and cleaned every bone. Even the ice cream was out of this world. So glad to support a local small family run business, and I know that if we ever come this way again, Taste of Bim will be on our list of stops.
Jennifer P — Google review
Jerked chicken: was excellent, rice and beans were excellent. The stewed vegetables had a great taste but consisted mostly of cabbage, would have liked to see some variety. ***** Fried chicken: was ok, but they laid it down on a very generous portion of mash potatoes (honestly too much but thats personal preference). The bottom was soggy, they need to plate more consciously. *** Salad: was good, it has raisins, they were a nice sweet pop, however there were a lot of carrots, shredded carrots and giant chunks of carrots.**** Fried cod fritters: theses were not what i had in mind when I ordered them. There who are no pieces of identifiable Cod, it seems to be just one large piece of dough fried. It was over fried, chewy, and had a really strong Curry taste, which I didn't mind. I wouldn't order these again.*

Well, since I'm still in Eureka and it's dinner time, I figured I'd eat ..sometimes I just have a spark of brilliance like that! I wasn't up for my typical fare, so I asked around for unusual places to eat, then I came upon this island dude playing calypso music on a steel drum on the sidewalk, and asked him where he would go...and between tokes he layed out A Taste of Bim Caribbean Restaurant to the soft beats of his steel drum. So off I went, and truly enjoyed an amazing meal, it didn't have a name because I just asked for a chicken dish with no curry, and what I got was really exceptional. The Caribbean food from A Taste of Bim is 5 stars all day long! ☆☆☆☆☆
American A — Google review
So delicious! We got the frizzled cod fish and the curry goat and both were yummy. The frizzled cod fish had a lot of flavors and a nice sweet taste. It went great with mashed potatoes. The curry goat was definitely a must if you like goat/lamb, but it was more simple/bland than the frizzled cod fish. I enjoyed them both!

I had a delicious tasty vegan mean here. Beans and veggies spiced to perfection. I really felt like I was in the Caribbean. Friendly staff. I will be back. Try something new! If you have not tried Caribbean food you are missing out! Give Bim a chance ;)
Joseph B — Google review
An employee in the coop recommended this restaurant and seemed enthusiastic about its food. so we gave it a try and it did not disappoint. Mother and daughter are a cooking team and you feel that you are invited guests to their table. I had the salted fish stew and it was favorable with Caribbean spices and moderately spiced. the cod is salted but it is not too salty when combined with the rice and vegetables in a wonderful sauce. A friend has the oxtail and the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. This place is about the food and it is tge food that provides the comfort. There is nothing fancy in its decor but if you want a home style made to order meal this is a place t go in Eureka that is different than most ethnic restaurants in the area. The House of Bim is reasonably priced and the portions of food are generous. Also try the homemade guava juice to add to your tropical restaurant experience
Elliot B — Google review
Food was absolutely amazing! We shared a side of the fried plantains, which were delicious. I had the Ribs Jerk, definitely recommend.
Anibal L — Google review
I wish i could give 3 and half stars because this place has potential. I ordered a stew chicken rice bowl and they use all white meat chicken so the chicken was dry formy taste. It was well seansoned and the flavor was nice i jut wish there was some bone-dark meat. I had some of the homemade sorrel (hibiscus) drink which was good. The atmosphere was nice and the service was goodm

Renowned for its premium seafood and steak offerings, this classy venue specializes in an array of fresh local seafood prepared to perfection—whether sautéed, grilled, or fried. Everything we had here was delicious. Especially the seafood chowder. They also bring warm sourdough. Hubby ordered the snapper with a compound butter. Very delicate and tasty. Can't wait to come back.

Fantastic seafood. Stopped by randomly as a walk in on a trip I was taking. Great serving sizes, the bread was fantastic, i had some japanese oysters I've never tried before and they were like butter. I wish I could remember the name of my server because he was incredibly friendly! Unfortunately I only had one night in Eureka to explore the menu more but the halibut was great. Will definitely be on my list the next time I pass through.

Never disappoints! Fabulous food and service. My husband had the clams and I had fish tacos, delicious. James our waiter was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommend this wonderful venue.

The service was excellent, very welcoming and informative. The Ahi was cooked perfectly but the twice backed potatoes were very dry. Local oysters were delicious. Lots of beer and wine selections but sold out of lots of dishes. We were there the kater part of the service but definitely affected the ordering. A bit pricey but that is also expected from fresh seafood restaurants. Would definitely return on a special occasion basis.

This has been the best restaurant I’ve eaten at for quite some time. Good service. Good atmosphere. Perfect amount of options in the menu. Decadence is an understatement. The food was superb and was reasonably priced.
Robert B — Google review
Made a reservation, was sat at a table, was not seen by a server for 15 minutes, finally waved one down to order an appetizer, was served really delicious Rockefeller oysters, was also served an overcooked plate of fettuccine, an overcooked filet grilled on an unclean grill top, and an ice cold baked potato, a side of overcooked zucchini and bell peppers, and was recommended a less than satisfactory bottle of wine. I did let our server know about the steak, and potato, and asked if I could have another plate of oysters in replacement of the overcooked steak. The OWNER then came over to my table with, what I thought was a piece of cake and an apology, was actually my cut up steak on a single plate, with her trying to tell me, a trained chef, what a medium rare steak looked like and was trying to convince me that that’s what it was. Inappropriate and I’m honestly appalled at such a seemingly upscale restaurant. Owners can do better, especially when she’s representing herself in such a way.

The food was excellent. The Dungeness crab was fresh firm and tasty. The clam chowder was creamy smooth. The filet was perfect med rare and tender. Louis gave us excellent service.

Had a wonderful dinner here with my husband after we eloped in the redwoods. Comfortable atmosphere, food and drinks were excellent, and service was fast and friendly. Although we were strangers passing through town, Samuel made us feel so welcome and even surprised us with dessert to celebrate our special day. Would absolutely come back to the Sea Grill!

Nestled in Sequoia Park, the historic Sequoia Park Zoo is California's oldest zoo, established in 1907. Spanning seven acres, it houses a diverse array of wildlife, with over 1,895 animals representing 54 different species. Visitors can encounter red pandas, river otters, bears, gibbons and birds of prey. The zoo also features a petting area for young children to enjoy close encounters with friendly animals.
The Sequoia Park Zoo is such a great little zoo that's perfect for any age! We spent about three hours here and also walked on the Redwood Sky Walk. They have a lot of great and unique animals to view which made for an interesting and educational trip. The Sky Walk was absolutely phenomenal! We really enjoyed learning as we walked along the redwood trees, suspended in the air. I like all of the educational pieces they have throughout the zoo and we all learned a lot. The cafe offers lots of food options and even delicious cookies and ice cream. There is no parking lot here so be mindful that you will have to park on the street in the surrounding neighborhoods but it's free so that's great.
Chrissy H — Google review
The zoo was a great experience! There was a nice variety of animals, and the bald eagles were especially cool to see. We mainly went for the skywalk, which was a lot of fun and such a unique experience. The tickets felt a little pricey, but overall it was worth it. I would definitely go again with friends and family.

Surprisingly amazing. We went there for the rescued bears only to find the the park was easily navigated and full of great information on each exhibit. We really didn't know what to expect, but found the staff incredibly friendly and informative, and each exhibit full of amazing, comfortably enjoyable friends ( animals). Small and perfect to visit on your trek through the redwoods. 💞

Loved, loved, loved Sequoia Park Zoo. The Sky walk overlooks the bear enclosure and is a fun little adventure all on its own. While the zoo is one of the smaller I've been to, we loved every encounter, and I found myself just smiling away the whole time. The enclosures are well maintained, none of the animals looked sad or too confined, and the staff were all very friendly and engaging. I highly recommend this sweet place. I'd definitely go back if I were to be in that area again on a future road trip.
Debbie D — Google review
This was a very small zoo with the skywalk being the main attraction. I enjoyed the monkeys, two eagles, two bears, hamsters, flamingos, and the eagles nest that you can climb in. But was disappointed the red panda exhibit was shut down for repair and that there were no river otters in their exhibit. The sky bridge was a cool experience and worth the stop in for that. It gave us an up close look at the redwood trees and a new fascination with just how majestically tall these trees are.
Melissa D — Google review
The park is small but so amazing we had so much fun seeing all the animals and taking our time enjoying the environment! The animals are all so happy and active in have never been to such a zoo were the animals are having so much fun! The Skywalk was amazing and the park and hiking area right next to the zoo was awesome!
Crystal H — Google review
For the Skywalk, 5 stars. For the zoo, 3.5. Staff was great, offering educational info on animals as you happened upon them walking by cages. But a number of enclosures were empty and there didn't feel like a ton of animals. The skywalk was beautiful and worth it, even though we had done several during our trip.
Adriana L — Google review
Super fun, to see South American animals in a zoo is new and unique. The redwood Skywalk was amazing and spooky looking down at how high you were. We would recommend always. It was sad that some of the exhibits were down for maintenance but understandable. Only downside was parking was impossible.

The Redwood Sky Walk at Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka is a must-visit attraction, offering an exhilarating experience of strolling through an old-growth redwood forest on a walkway elevated 100 feet above the ground. This ADA-accessible engineering marvel, which opened in 2021, provides breathtaking views and educational opportunities. Visitors of all ages can enjoy this unique adventure, with employees available to answer questions and assist with photos.
Great addition to your admission price to the zoo. Really get a birds eye view of the black bears as you traverse new heights in the red woods. Luckily we visited on a quieter week day as I could see this being rough with crowds. Beautiful and well worth the visit and rating as best in the US.
Jesse W — Google review
It is a very cute small zoo. The sky walk was really fun, but try going on a weekday when it's less crowded. There were a lot of people, so there was traffic on the sky bridges. Also surprisingly it was in the middle of a city in a park. Still beautiful and pristine. But as someone who drove 5 hrs, I had no idea it was a park. I would definitely go back, though. They also have a fun petting zoo area for kids.

This was such a fun experience! *More of a sanctuary than a zoo *Free parking *Easy to find *Food and eating area on site *Fun gift shop *Clean bathrooms *Very friendly & knowledgeable staff *Lots of interesting animal exhibits *Interactive, educational games along the way *Redwood Skywalk is amazing!!! This is a MUST-DO on a visit to Eureka! *ADA accessible in most of the park (no wheels allowed on the Skywalk, tho)

We lived in Eureka for a year, and moved out since early last year. We’re just like neighbors from this zoo but was not able to come. But my husband and I promise to each other to come back here and visit the zoo & experience the sky walk. And its all worth it. I miss Eureka, and Humbolt 🌳
Nars — Google review
The zoo is a small little zoo so don't expect anything by major. They do a lot of work restoring the wetlands, and have a lot of informative plaques talking about the environment and what goes on. The biggest highlight is of course, the Redwood Sky Walk which is def worth it. You would think it's scary being up there but it is not! There is a barn section for the kiddos to pet animals, a small place to eat, and a memorial to chimpanzees. One thing I did enjoy watching was one of the larger birds trollop around being territorial, it was rather amusing to the unamused boars.
Kayla L — Google review
This is a mist to whoever is visiting. It is a park that has a Zoo and the Skywalk is part of the zoo for any easy explanation. We actually only wanted to do the Skywalk but the Zoo was so nice we stayed an extra few hours exploring. I been to quite a few big Zoo in my life so I wasn’t expecting to like it so much. The feeding shows were so much fun especially the otter and raccoons. The animals are loved and well taking care off. The staff were so nice and helpful. I enjoyed every part of it from the petting barn, to the bear and birds. The Skywalk was beautiful but somehow became secondary to the experience. However, the skywalk was so fun and beautiful. I highly recommend this!

This was an amazing first zoo experience for our toddler! Their map is online and available through their site or a QR code when you enter. Their barnyard area was cool because at 11 they open the contact yard where we got to pet amd brush goats and sheep. The Skywalk was really cool too! Our toddler LOVED it and went a second time around the canopy. I couldn't do a second time due to a fear of heights, but my spouse and child were fearless, soaring across the bridges as they wiggled and cobbled.

The park features an impressive array of amenities, including free parking and various accommodation options nearby. Visitors can explore the lush surroundings on foot, with well-maintained walking loops and trails suitable for hikers of all levels.
It is worth every dollar to fully experience this park. Nothing short of breathtaking and astonishing. Seriously cool stuff. I love the mini zoo, and of course the sky walk is the highlight. Definitely a place to go out of your way to go to. If I could give 6 stars I would without a second thought.

This is a nice, clean little zoo. I was sad not all animals were visible. The ones we did see looked well taken care of. The Skywalk was fun. If you are afraid of heights or suspension bridges, it's not too bad just make sure no little jumping kids around. It was beautiful and great to see the redwoods up close. The staff was friendly. Cost seemed a bit high but I was OK paying it.

OK. After quite a few negative experiences at this particular Target, I'm done. There were a few special offers for items today in our trolley and I had our cashier scan the Wallet (I am a Circle member) on my phone before she rang it up. None of them appeared on our bill. I asked her to ring it up again but she dispatched us to Customer Service. When we went there, the person there said we had to go back, retrace our steps and come back with photos and bring them back. Both people were quite rude about it. I am currently disabled and couldn't face another trek around the store. We left. This was the final nail in the coffin Eureka Target experience for me. Other cashiers have rung it up again and realized it hadn't scanned properly and gave us the appropriate discounts. I am sick of the treatment we receive at this Target. Refrigerated food weeks past it's sell by date, unstocked shelves, rude staff (except for Jay, who is wonderful), fresh produce that is spoiled within 24 hours. It's like a store that has completely given up. I'm done. No-one needs this store. Thanks, but no thanks.
Margaret O — Google review
Customer service needs a major reality check , two male ( I'm female) employees responded to me very aggressively in the mannerisms that they spoke, I was at self checkout and the machine short changed me- it was only a few cents but regardless I expect to receive my change in full. I raised my hand to get the attention of an employee and the cashier at the register answered like he was about to jump over the register and do something to me, and j had not even spoke a single word, the employee that responded to his page for assistance, when I asked if the machine had been doing that long , was worse , big thumbs down
Lovely B — Google review
First pick up order here. Nearly all fresh food items were past expiration date or spoiled or both. Cheese covered in mold, yogurt ten days expired, ground beef past sale by date. This is incredibly concerning and total waste of time/planning. Will never get groceries here again
Shiloh W — Google review
Terrible customer service. Instead of price checking a vendor item an employee took the easy route and told me they simply couldn’t sell the item and had to be thrown away. They also initially didn’t even take the right item away from me so I had to go grab them to show that they’ve grabbed the wrong item from my cart after they’ve disappeared from the self checkout lanes. There’s always 2-3 employees standing around the checkout lanes not doing anything making the wait times much longer than they need to be. This Target also has the worst stocked shelves and the least cleanly aisles of any target I’ve been to. You can tell when HR takes a visit because they’ll put a temporary bandaid over everything. Also the freezers are always leaking and fresh produce is placed right next to trash here.

Every time I go, I get harassed by homeless in the parking lot. Trying to get money for artwork - which is worse than a scammer sliding into my DMs. Several of these homeless have called me almost every name in the book for just turning them down. I was just there, and had homeless guy with brown coat beard and hair at chin length - targeted me once my partner left me alone at my car. I've been attacked by people before when alone trying to get in my car, so I was scared of this guy being within a foot of my drivers door before I was even able to lock it. He proceeded to try and get my attention to get me to buy his art, and I'm telling him NO repeatedly. He left and proceeded to call me insults while walking straight to my partner who was close to the doors of the store. Luckily my partner said something to security. Targets security wont do anything to get rid of these homeless that are loitering around the parking lot and harassing every single person that is trying to shop or just there for a few minutes. They only take action if something happens inside the store. I have nothing really against the employees, because they are doing their best with their higherups being stressed all the time and taking it out on them. Which should change. Managers! Stop taking your frustrations out on those below you! They are doing their best at the front lines and you are not making it any easier. Especially with the rude and entitled customers that come into the store, who think they know everything about Target and their sales. No wonder why your employees want to work at Walmart or anywhere that pays better, or gives more hours. From what I hear, you have several employees that you consider disposable and haven't even bothered giving them a single work shift in months.

Terrible store. Awful customer service. Carefully check your receipt, as they regularly have incorrect prices on shelves, and signage making offers they will not honor. Do yourself a favor and try somewhere else.

I just wanted to buy a pack of shirts but they're LOCKED UP IN CASE like theyre made of gold or something. No one showed up to unlock the thing so my trip's time got doubled and I left without them. Dystopian hell. Lock boxes are a waste of everyones time and money

The Ingomar Club is a grand Victorian house in Eureka, California, known as the Carson Mansion. This architectural marvel boasts intricate detailing, vibrant colors, and ornate turret towers that capture the imagination of all who see it. While now a private club, the mansion's grounds are beautifully preserved and adorned with artwork by local artists. Although access to the interior is limited to members only, visiting this historical landmark offers a unique experience filled with opulence and architectural grandeur.
So very beautiful and cool that they have a virtual online tour. A shame that you can’t go inside, but it’s understandable as its a private club.

We only viewed it from the outside but even then could appreciate the splendor of it all.

Cool place to take a picture given the very interesting architecture of the building. Private club tho, so can’t go inside. Probably plan for 10 minutes of your time and move on. Still, must-go in Eureka.
Humberto H — Google review
Beautiful old Victorian definitely worth seeing while in Eureka. As others have mentioned it’s a private club not accessible to the general public. UPDATE: As suggested I went by and took a photo of the Carson Mansion decorated in all its Christmas glory. Spectacular‼️🎅

Beautiful, but whoever approved that green fabric Porte-cochère did the place no favors.
Austin J — Google review
We ate the restaurant and stayed in the carriage house. The food was ok. The carriage house was nice and large and fully stocked like an Airbnb. However, I expected a lot more given the mystique and history of the place. Update: after receiving a reply below from the Ingomar, I went to the site to provide more information. Alas, there is no place to provide feedback. 🤔 The biggest surprise to me was how empty the restaurant was. In a fairly large dining room, there was just one other couple eating and we were seated right next to them. That and a large projector/screen system playing the football game. It just seemed like we were in the wrong place. There were other little things that didn't measure up to what I always heard about. Not necessarily bad, just didn't meet my expectations.

It's the Carson mansion but you can't access it as it's members only so you can only view the exterior

It's a beautiful building. When are the crown jewels of eureka. Private club and they will chase you off.If you even try to look into the windows. It looms as a very unfriendly, one percenter location

Clothing store
T.J. Maxx is a retail chain that offers fashionable branded clothing, footwear, and accessories, as well as household items. Although this year's styles have received criticism for being unappealing, it is not entirely the store's fault. Their customer service is commendable with friendly and helpful staff. However, the store floor design is overcrowded and poorly laid out, leading to a warm shopping environment. Despite these issues, customers still intend to return for their shopping needs.
Never have had an issue here, really. It feels like your normal TJ Maxx! The staff keeps it as organized and clean as possible; they're typically very polite and personanable; and the security makes it feel like a safe environment.
Kambi B — Google review
The store is clean but the style of clothes here is wayy different than in Louisiana. It took me forever to find a pair of jeans . The home section is phenomenal though

I was in your store 7/30/25. I was impressed with Jen G and her kindness. After I made purchase of several items ( about 30), and gave her the wrong credit card, she without hesitation returned them and charged my TJ Mxx card. I told her she didn't have to but she knew I was disappointed and insisted we do it. I do retail also, I know this was exceptional customer service.

Love tjmaxx!! Great selection of skincare, hair care, soaps. Also great aisle of cleaning supplies. :)

Love this place, good prices big selections only negative they leave boxes of merchandise blocking the aisles where you can't go down and could be a fire issue if you had to evacuate in an emergency

Bistro
Nestled in the heart of Eureka, California, Humboldt Bay Bistro is a delightful fusion of French homestyle cooking and California cuisine. This charming restaurant boasts a cozy dining room that offers stunning views of the water, creating an inviting atmosphere perfect for any occasion. Whether you're in the mood for a casual drink with friends or a gourmet meal to celebrate a special moment, Humboldt Bay Bistro caters to all tastes with its diverse menu.
Everyone was so friendly and professional from the moment we stepped in till the second we stepped out First time at the Bistro and was not disappointed at all Maria was our server and was detailed in all the specials and when I preferred the vinegarette for my salad she told me it was her favorite and I was not disappointed! Above and beyond the halibut melted like butter in my mouth I’ve had halibut many places and nothing can compare 12/10 will recommend and be back I had the pasta seafood curry special and my husband had the crab stuffed halibut over risotto Excellent
Julie G — Google review
Charming old house fixed up as a restaurant. Unfortunately, the charm is only with regard to the decor. All surfaces are hard (floor, tables, chairs, benches, etc.), which leads to a high noise level. In many places this is deliberate, so as to create "energy" but all it creates is the necessity of yelling at servers and others at the table - despite the room not being full. I can't imagine the noise level if the room were were in had been full. Servers/preparers don't communicate: we ordered the table-side Caesar salad for three (delicious!), but no one told the person making the salad that it was for three; she had to go back for the correct plates. The lovely person making our salad tried to tell us about each ingredient, but she was difficult to hear over the room noise. I finished my salad and placed my knife and fork together on the side of the salad plate. The server asked if I wanted to keep my fork! No, that is why the utensils were placed where they were. Duck was delicious, but my husband's filet mignon - which he ordered rare - was medium. The server did not check back; we had to call out to a different server to send the meal back. The steak that was returned did not look like a filet mignon - it was not as thick as is usual. His replacement meal arrived after everyone else at the table had finished eating. No apology. No comped glass of wine. Just plate plopped on the table. My husband ordered two glasses of wine, one for each of us. The server brought one, and when we asked about the other glass, said, "Oh, I must have missed that order." Perhaps because of the noise level? The meals of the three family members with us were nice, but nothing memorable. My daughter's filet was underdone, but she was hungry and let it go. At the end of our meal, we were informed that 3 of the 5 desserts on the menu were unavailable. We went elsewhere for ice cream (which was available, but we were finished with the place by then). At a price tag of over $300 for a party of five (exclusive of gratuity), I expected better food and service.

The oysters, crab cakes, French onion soup and creme brulee were all amazing, as was the service. So down to earth but professional and made us feel at home.
Megan P — Google review
Looks can be deceiving… I came for the seafood and left disappointed. After reading reviews for Humboldt Bay Bistro and checking out the menu, I thought this place would be worth the price and I would finally discover a solid seafood spot here in Humboldt…I was wrong. When ordering drinks and appetizers the waitress made us feel rushed like we had a time limit to stay and eat. The Calamari fries were decent and the cocktail sauce and spicy aoili were good. The pomme frites were okay, nothing special. Now to the main attraction. The surf and turf, specifically the lobster which is the reason I came here. When I tell you this was the worst lobster I’ve had in my life. It was unseasoned and tough. Definitely not cooked correctly. And the butter they gave us tasted like movie theater popcorn butter. The bland taste ruined my meal for me along with the Filet Mignon which wasn’t as tender as I would’ve liked. The Yukon mashed potatoes were great though. My girlfriend got the Cajun fettuccine which she said tasted bland along with the fact that she found an eyebrow hair cooked into the pasta. My brother and father got the duck which came out lukewarm. For the 600$ bill you expect the best food in the world but this place was not worth it in the slightest. Humboldt Bay bistro provides you with a nice view but the service and food are not their strong suit.
Bill M — Google review
Seafood pasta was overcooked, not fresh tasting. Oysters not shucked well (lots of broken shell in oysters) and sauces were bland. Crabcake was ok. Underwhelming food overall.

My family's first time here: it will not be our last. We had wonderful food that was well prepared and presented. Service was friendly and efficient by our server Grace. Thank you all for making a birthday celebration memorable.

Showed up shortly after opening last Friday and was happy to get a table since we did not have a reservation. Are server Merilee was attentive, personable and super friendly. My husband was so happy with his steak (he always wants the rarest the chef can do) our waitress went and got the chef Ben so he could tell him in person. Ordered the Calamari fries which someone on another review said was the best they ever had and I have to agree! They were tender and not overly battered like most places. The French Onion soup was delicious & savory. I can't remember what my meal description was because it was the fish special of the day, but it was Halibut on a rice pilaf with some kind of lemon aioli, topped with Dungeness crab. It was cooked perfect, nice and creamy and I enjoyed every bite. My husband got the Rib-eye and like I said he enjoyed his meal. I tried his and it just melted in my mouth. I can't wait to go back!
KD — Google review
We didn’t have to wait for our table when we arrive because we’ve already made reservations for a large party. We got our menus right away, server didn’t come take order until 30mins after we sat down. While the waitress was taking our orders, we notice she was rolling her eyes at us, giving us an attitude. She didn’t finish taking our orders, she just collected all the menu. She didn’t even offer or ask what we would like to drink besides water and just left. One of our friend didn’t get to order so we had to go find our waitress, and order for her. We told our waitress and other waitress/waiter who work there that night many times(more than 3x) we haven’t order our drinks yet and we would like to order our drinks. Our food came, then the waitress came took our drinks order, then came back saying sorry there’s no more carbs drink (sodas). Oh great! Our group felt ignored by the waitress and that our presence was not valued, which is especially disappointing for a large party. My point is, we got very poor customer service at this restaurant. The waitress clearly needs retraining in customer service to provide a positive and welcoming experience for guests. It was our first time there, and surely will be our last. Will be telling friends and family to avoid this place in the future.

Hamburger restaurant
Fast-food chain known for its variety of piled-high burgers & meal combos, plus shakes.
5 stars out of five I love the atmosphere very nice and clean cashiers were very helpful. And suggested good food especially the manager name Imelda. She was very very kind I was just passing by as a traveler and I would recommend if your passing by eureka to come to this Carl’s jr cause of how nice and pleasant it is.
Andrew Q — Google review
Was really hungry the other night, and in the past, I’ve chosen Carl’s Jr., because the quality of the meat and the sandwiches was better than other places. No longer. I ordered the BBQ chicken sandwich, extra pickles. What I got was two pickles, and barely any BBQ sauce. The chicken itself was well cooked no issues there. The bun was standard. But the two items that would’ve made spending > $9 justifiable, and were super easy to add, were completely neglected. When something this basic is screwed up, it says a lot about the business, and what it said to me was: we don’t care about getting it right. Don’t bother to come back.

This has to be the nastiest Carls in the country. I ordered a jalapeño double, the patties were Cold Dried out Garbage. The cheese solid cold too. The cooking area was a mess, just a dirty looking place. What's wrong with management, perhaps they need to be REPLACED FIRST

Fries were fresh and amazing. Sandwhich was okay. The chicken patty was super small. The restaurant itself was filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. It was a little scary eating food from there. You cant use the restroom unless you've bought something.

Gross. I tried uploading a pic of the super brown lettuce on my sandwich. The meat was cold even though I waited for a few minutes for my order. I can't wait for in n out to open! Also the Arcata Carl's is way better go there if you can.

I specifically went to Carl's Jr for the Beyond Star Burger made with the meatless Beyond Burger. I requested no cheese and no mayo, trying to keep it vegan-ish. It tasted like what I remember of a fast food burger which is to say, not great. Warm weird pickle, slightly cooked lettuce, flavorless tomato. It was what it was. Maybe good in an emergency but I wouldn't go out of my way for one. Also service seemed slow for a Sunday after lunch but perhaps that was due to my unique order.

Nestled in the heart of Eureka, A A Bar & Grill is a hidden gem that beckons with its inviting atmosphere and mouthwatering menu. This casual neighborhood sports bar offers a delightful mix of steaks, classic pub fare, and refreshing cocktails. Despite its unassuming exterior, patrons rave about the quality of their charbroiled meats and hearty dishes like surf and turf featuring fried shrimp alongside crispy onion rings and fries.
We were 2 starving people came here late night after a 6hr hiking. My friend saw the steak sign as we drove by so we visited this place without any prior review/plan. It was mid summer time and house was full. Steak was great! (Taste, portion size, and price all very satisfying) I also loved their local cider, couldn’t remember the name but got me trying cider in every bar I went thereafter.

Back for a second time, and the 8oz Filet Mignon didn't disappoint! This time I paired it with the prawns and the fantastic twice-baked potato. Seriously, this steak is a standout. The gorgonzola butter is a game-changer, adding a wonderful depth of flavor to the already perfectly seasoned and cooked (medium-rare) steak. The twice-baked potato was also spot on and delicious. The minestrone soup was another highlight - perfectly seasoned and a joy to eat.
Greg R — Google review
We decided to stop in and try the steaks for our Anniversary. We went in around 4:15pm (dinner starts at 4pm) and easily found a table. The steaks were melt in your mouth perfect. The Gorgonzola butter is good but a bit salty. Justine was fantastic - she was holding down the bar and serving tables with a smile.

Such a fun place! Not very big so be prepared to sit at the bar unless you want to wait for a table or sit outside on the patio. We sat at the bar and had fun watching the gals make drinks while waiting on all of us. The food was delicious, served with a smile and offer of anything else needed. We split a steak and potato and were full after enjoying the amazing cheddar mushroom broccoli soup. We are from redding and will visit here every time we come to eureka. The service was amazing 👏 🤩

Eating at AA Grill felt like stepping into a classic small-town dive bar—and I mean that in the best way. The vibe was super laid-back, and the food totally surprised us. The fried chicken was crazy crispy (in a good way!), though I think the batter could use just a bit more seasoning. My husband’s steak was huge and cooked perfectly medium-rare—he was very happy. Service was chill and steady. Overall, a great little spot we’ll definitely hit up again.
Charlotte A — Google review
The servers are skilled and knowledgeable about the food and options. Hands down, the best steaks in the county and most places I've been elsewhere!! The soups offer best bites over the bag salad option, and they know how to bake potatoes right. You're served a bit of cottage cheese, and a dollop of horseradish on the side... don't get them confused!! I once confused the horseradish for my sour cream, that was one intensely flavored baked potato!! My hubby gets the onion rings in lieu of the potato (fries are another option, and twice baked potatoes) Also... it's always worth the $3 to add the gorgonzola butter sauce to your steak! They have house made cheesecake, but I've never been able to try it, I'm so stuffed full of amazing steak! You get a small discount for ordering two of the same steak together. This place is mostly a bar, with a few 4 and 2 seater options. If it's an important event, make a reservation, but don't bring a crowd, they would never fit!! Worth the effort to get a seat here, I've never been disappointed. They also have some tasty appetizers, but I keep it to the steak, it is just that good!! They also do breakfast on Saturday, brunch on Sunday, and lunch some days with a good looking menu. Any meat eater can find something tasty on their menu at any meal... I think the prices are great for the quality of the product!!

We are HSU alumni ('96) and were married at nearby Jacoby Creek. We are dumbstruck that we didn't discover this fabulous place until recently. The service was great. The food superb. We went back the next day for lunch and the best Bloody Mary's we've had in a long time. We visit often from Tehama County and this place will be at the top of our list.
P.J. N — Google review
I used to go to AA for breakfast every weekend and it was always awesome in every way. It's definitely a dive bar atmosphere, it has its charm. Today was the first time I'd been there in a year or more. They had only one person bartending/serving and one person in the kitchen - I can't see any reason for them to have a skeleton crew when they're so busy and I know they're raking it in, so my complaint is about the business more than the staff. It took about 30 minutes before we got the server's attention long enough to order (just barely). The coffee was cold and there was definitely no opportunity for refills. The food, which used to be so delicious, was AWFUL. The gravy tastes like paste, just raw flour, no seasoning, a few specs of sausage that did not add any flavor. No part of the meal was seasoned. Two of our 3 breakfasts came out with no hash browns, which is like a third of the breakfast. By the time we finally got those hash browns, we were finished eating so we were over it by then but they only sent out one order instead of the two we were shorted. We weren't trying to wait another half hour or more to get it sorted. We just won't be going back. There are enough good restaurants in Eureka at this point, resting on your laurels is not going to work anymore.

Second time eating here. Good food. Ordered the Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura, Miso Soup and the Sweet Potatoe Roll (vegetarian). Last time we got (2) of the Monster Rolls (Deep fried...non vegetarian). Everything I've had from here has been good. It is rather pricey, imo. I don't find that it is sensational for its price, however I understand that the restaurant business needs to make money too. Atmosphere is nice. Wait staff is polite and knowledge of their menu. Gardens
Humboldt Botanical Garden is a serene and meticulously maintained locale featuring trails that wind through flower gardens, trees, and a butterfly exhibit. The garden offers spectacular views of Humboldt Bay and the Pacific Ocean. It has a mixed climate that supports various plants and floral arrangements since its establishment in 1991. Visitors can enjoy the formal gardens with labeled plants as well as less formal forested areas with numerous benches for relaxation or contemplation.
Beautiful garden. At the end is a fun little walk around on a giant circle piece of art. If you walk the whole thing, it's a half mile. The host was very friendly and informative. Love this place!

Much more than it looks like it is at first glance. I expected a small community botanical garden we could walk through in 30 minutes flat... That's probably true of the terrace garden, but there's so much more here. Really well signed. Nice trails. Amazing woodland garden that was bursting with color mid-April. Definitely worth a stop...

Cool place, fun gift shop! Unfortunately, a staffing issue ruined our experience, as it did the other folks outside. Whoever worked Sunday, 8/17/25, was there by herself and SUPER stressed, saying right away they'd be closing early bc she was the only one there. Having been in the service industry, we showed sincere sympathy and tipped her well. But she proved incapable of hiding emotions in order to provide the customer service expected from this brand. I was astonished at the way she treated me over a friggin' pretzel--condescending attitude, arguing, snide remarks, zero humility, obviously zero customer service training or techniques to fall back on. This wasn't just a bad day, it was blatant customer mistreatment. My friend & I went outside to eat/drink. We were talking about the sitch, and the other customers sitting nearby chimed in, "I know, she's awful!!! It took over an hour to get a pretzel, then she gave US attitude!" So out of the 4 of us, one employee ruined the experience for all 4 of us. May try their café location (may not), but will never go back here. The other folks said the same.

I have enjoyed their Tangerine wheat beer, but have had a hard time finding it in a couple of stores in Northern California. When calling to get information, the gal on the other end of the phone was quiet short and rude. Lost Coast has now lost my business.
Trisha W — Google review
Absolutely great beer. I didn't plan to stay for more than 1 beer but they hazy IPA is absolutely amazing. I also tried their tangerine wheat, delicious for a person doesnt even like wheat beer. The hazy IPA is so fragrant, not just juicy but florally. No bitter after taste so it is very easy to drink. It has a hint of sweetness with a touch of almost like a honey after taste but not overpowering. It's definitely an amazing hazy IPA. Definitely will come back. They are dog friendly inside and outside. There is like a small park right outside. Outside food is OK as well.

Theaters
Nestled in the charming coastal town of Solana Beach, North Coast Repertory Theatre is a vibrant hub for live performances that celebrates the arts and culture. This professional theater showcases an array of stage plays and musicals, drawing on local talent that consistently impresses audiences. Visitors rave about the quality of productions, with memorable shows like "Cabaret" and "Sweeney Todd" leaving lasting impressions. The intimate setting enhances every performance, making each word and note resonate beautifully.
For a small town theater company, NCRT and Redwood Curtain do a terrific job of putting on a broad range of shows, solidly produced, directed, staged and acted.

Great local theater. Always good talent and a great time. They have snacks and drinks available (including beers, wines, ciders, sodas, water, etc...) and a variety of candy, popcorn and homemade cookies on occasion. My only wish would be for more comfortable seating.
Brian F — Google review
The theater is small and average. They have cookies during the break. They don't have enough bathrooms so go before you go. But the plays there are usually pretty good. We just saw the tenth Muse there and the acting was fantastic. very well done
William G — Google review
Love this theater and their productions. There is something about the theater itself that makes every word and any and all music sound intact and brilliant. There's some amazing talent on the North Coast and many if not most have been or are here. The musicals are the best. But actually-- everything is just always fantastic.

There are several theater groups in this area and they all have very talented people associated with them. NCRT's production of Cabaret was amazing! You can tell the cast had fun even though it was a serious subject. Thank you for bringing it to your sold out audiences!

Fantastic place to take in some theatre. Intimate setting, so you feel very much like youre in the thick of it. The rotating selection of plays is good, and ranges from classics to musicals. Always a good time, and reasonably priced.

We saw "Jesus Christ, Super Star" and had a wonderful evening! I had forgotten how small and intimate venue NCRT is. The only drawback to the evening was the sound system prevented us from understanding some of the words of the songs. Having said as much this will not keep us away from another wonderful evening/matinee at the NCRT! Thank you to the performers and all who are needed to produce the plays!

Samoa Beach

Beach
Samoa Beach is a low-key and secluded spot, perfect for watching the sunset or enjoying a weekend with the family. It's ideal for kids and even allows fur babies to join in on the fun. Visitors can find isolated spots to relax, bring their dogs, and drive 4x4 vehicles along the beach. While it may not be suitable for swimming or picnicking, it offers picturesque views and opportunities for activities like walking and photography.
The nearest ocean beach to Eureka has dunes, surfing and beachcombing. Often desolate but sometimes busy. Nice polished stones show at times, but mostly soft sand. Some cars get stuck in the sand, and can get a ticket along with a recovery.
Wade B — Google review
My favorite place Earth. Hella low-key beach with not much going on. Kinda like a "let's go watch the sunset" beach. Or "let's take the kids and the quads to the dunes for a weekend" type place. With that being said, don't tell no one about this beauty because id like it to stay that way. If you litter here, your a sad, sorry excuse for a human being and probably will ☠️ alone. People do actually live out here so respect it as you would your own home. Bless 🙏🏻🌞🌊

really lovely little beach that's not too busy and sometimes surfers are out there. Lots of cool rocks, driftwood, and usually shells too. I always wish the water were a little warmer, but even year round, its walkable and enjoyable.

Easy access, multiple points of entry. It is a big beach that is usually not busy! It is also not super windy like some beaches nearby. If you’re in Eureka it’s just 5 minutes away!

Fun beach to hang out and find secluded spots all to yourself. No rules. So bring your dogs and your 4x4s also no lifeguard so keep them feet up out in the water for the men in gray. Good waves year round

Barbecue restaurant
Located in Humboldt, California, the Humboldt Smokehouse is a casual spot serving up smoked meats, sandwiches, and several different sauces. The brisket and hot links were both amazing - definitely worth a visit!
I had the brisket and cheddar sandwich, I think it's called "Joe's". It was delicious. I put some of the Mac and cheese in it and it was even more delicious. Wonderful place, fantastic food. I asked the gentleman who served me some touristy questions and he immediately looked it up for me. Can't ask for more
Megan K — Google review
First of all I should say the staff are super nice and friendly. So five star to the staff. However, BBQ-wise it’s so so, the meet is good but the coating and burnt edges very salty. Overall it’s a so so place. The food price is good through considering the portion they serve.
Emad J — Google review
The pulled pork and burnt ends were yummy. Hubby enjoyed his brisket too. I really love their Georgia and Lexington BBQ sauces. Hubby loved their Kansas city sauce. Sides were ok. Friendly service.
Shonte B — Google review
Wishing I had read the reviews before I stopped by here and wasted my money for a meal I couldn't even stomach. The chicken was dry, burnt, and cold. The mac and cheese was one big clump of noodle and was also very obviously just Velveeta that had been sitting under a heatlamp all day. The cornbread was dry, mealy, and not at all fresh. I took a bite or two of each thing and threw the rest away. I can only hope the owner has no idea about all the corners being cut in their restaurant because every single item was disgusting, dry leftovers, CLEARLY not freshly made at all and clearly reheated a few times prior.
BareNaked L — Google review
They might have had a higher rating, but they were out of a fair amount of the items they BBQ. However, what they had was pretty darn good.
Greg R — Google review
My family is visiting the area currently. We saw this BBQ places listed as the best in town. Super excited to try something good we stopped in and were disappointed to say the least. We spent over $70 for food we could not finish at all. While there I decided to look at more reviews and wish I had before stopping in. Someone else said the following: “Voted "the best in town" but serving mediocre food. Who is voting for that title?” And I completely agree. They were out of most things on the menu. So I got chopped brisket. Which was somehow burnt but also cold. My beans were like warm and my mashed sweet potatoes were just that. I think mashed in the water they were boiled in. Only one of the BBQ sauces was palatable, the mustard sauce was actually really good. I didn’t think of writing a review until after I threw away my food, so I do not have a photo of that. I also could not get photos of the several misquotes all over the restaurant. My daughter was also scared by the huge spider web in the window next to our seats.
Courtney B — Google review
for a bbq joint, the price was really good, serving sizes were large. I got the pulled chicken which was great and im excited to go back and try the other meats, sides were alright, the mac needed some salt, and the beans needed some bbq sauce to really juice them up, but the serving sizes were great for $15. I really like the fact that they have different styles of sauces to try. Overall great value if youre craving some bbq, just think these folks need a bigger sign out front
Aleksander T — Google review
Friendly & helpful employees. Delicious chopped brisket sandwich (we added crispy onions) & baked beans. Several flavorful BBQ sauces to choose from with great descriptions to help you decide - ultimately ended up purchasing a bottle of their "Georgia" sauce to bring back home with us.

Breakfast restaurant
Golden Harvest Cafe is a popular Eureka breakfast spot that offers delivery through DoorDash. The cafe is small but has a wide variety of food, including many classic brunch items. The staff are friendly and the coffee is hot.
Probably the best breakfast available in Humboldt! Passing through town and this was the tentative pic for this morning's breakfast. So glad we did. The coffee was fresh and hot and not watery. The parking lot had lots of parking. We were seated immediately. The booths are a little bit tiny so hopefully you like the people you came with because you'll be close to them. Right off the bat. The whipped cream is fresh and made in-house. It goes in the hot chocolate and the stuffed French toast. It was a big favorite at the table. Unfortunately, I'm not good with eggs so I was delighted to see the potato cakes. The cheese was good and stringy. The bacon was yummy. They had at least three options of hot sauce. I was simply delighted. Kiddo got the chicken fried steak and ate at least half of it. Husband had to help with his hot cake and it was reported to be delicious. Other kiddo got the stuffed French toast and she couldn't finish but what I helped her with towards the end was fantastic. It was fried in the style that had the corn flakes. Perfect golden color achieved, with no dark brown anywhere. The strawberries were fresh and there was a light lemon custard involved that tied the whole thing together. Realistically, if this was in some kind of upscale French cafe with a chandelier and violins, I could expect pay twice as much and no one would have batted an eye in some City. The bathroom is gender neutral and there's some graffiti's and carvings but they can't do everything. There was also some homeless people out and about but that's pretty par for the course for the city and I certainly don't hold it against them chilling outside. The bathroom also had a changing table which is deeply appreciated. I can't wait to go again tomorrow and eat my body weight in delicious potatoes and hot coffee. Five stars would go again, and again.

Their menu goes HARD, and I thought that before even glancing at their Wednesday specials. Omg. Was hard to pick, but breakfast was a great treat. The potato pancake didn't look like I expected, but that's probably cuz i didn't read the description super well, and it was mouth-watering regardless. Our service was excellent 🤌🏼🙏🏼💜. Tysm!

TRUE AMERICAN FOOD RIGHT HERE!! Massive portions, $20-23 for the biggest breakfast you'll ever have!! And sooooo worth it! Chicken fried steak, Eggs, hash browns, and 2 fluffy biscuits with home made jam for $23 is so worth it! With every dish you get 2 addional sides! Pancakes are so goooood! Can't stress how good this place is! Servies wasn't the best in the world but they were busy so benefit of the doubt. Guy waiters are a little "off", not socially aware, we didn't get napkins, refills etc so maybe they can step up in that department too but over all definitely going back!

Really amazing breakfast food! The Nevada breakfast is pictured. The potato cakes are easily some of the best potatoes I've had in my entire life, especially with the housemade pork belly!

This is a nice diner with great food and service. It’s pretty basic “atmosphere”, but I don’t go out to breakfast for the atmosphere. The food was some of the best my husband and I have had for breakfast while traveling on the Northern California coast. The diner wasn’t busy, but even so our food came out Very fast and the portions are large. We appreciated that they left a carafe of coffee on our table. Highly recommend!

To begin - don’t be put off with the exterior appearance. It’s a dirty building on the outside and looks pretty run down but we didn’t come for that. We’re from out of town and we’re looking for organic food (or as good for us as possible) so we searched organic and found this place. First, we were greeted immediately by a gentleman who seated us , offered us drinks and brought us water. Jessica was our waitress and was super knowledgeable about the menu and so friendly. Food was brought quickly (we split the California scramble with smoked bacon) and it was separated for us. For our sides we opted for the fruit cup with organic bananas and the house made applesauce which was amazing! All in all plenty of food for the two of us and for $20 a steal We’ll definitely be back here!
Lisa F — Google review
I chose Golden Harvest because they offer tofu bacon and vegan eggs. I can't eat eggs because they cause eczema flare-ups. So, I've been researching vegan egg recipies. The tofu scramble recipe from School Night Vegan by Richard Makin looked so good I wanted to have some. So, I ordered tofu scramble with sausage patty and grilled pork belly. Their picture of hash brown looked really nice and crisp. When my plate arrived, but the tofu scramble looked ridiculous, it was nothing like the tofu eggs I tried in Palm Desert in look and taste. Although the hash brown looked like the picture on the website, it was not crispy, but soaking in grease. The sausage patty tasted dry and boring, the pork belly was burnt and dried up as well. My partner's egg Benedict had greasy onions, and was not very good either. Although the service was very good and the people very friendly, the first function of a restaurant is to satisfy our need for food. I could not finish my food!

Family restaurant
Nestled just south of Eureka, the Samoa Cookhouse is a charming slice of history that has been delighting visitors since 1890. This iconic establishment serves hearty, family-style American meals in a communal setting reminiscent of lumber camp dining. Guests can enjoy all-you-can-eat meals served in generous portions, perfect for those with big appetites.
The last time I ate here was 30+ years ago when I was a kid on vacation. I don't recall how good the food was back then but it is definitely good now. The ambiance is of a time long ago as old as the trees that went through the mill. The lady running the place has the hospitality of an idealistic Mom, welcoming to everybody who visits. The the food reminds me of my grandmas cooking. It's all homemade: bread, green beans, chicken soup, potatoes and the brisket was some of the best I've ever had. Definitely worth a stop if want to take a trip back in time and get some good old fashioned home cooking.

Great ambiance, feel of history… amazing staff , that’s the first impression.. the food was tasty as of home , nothing more nothing less , nothing fancy whatsoever. We went for a late breakfast, it was almost lunch time , but the kind lady chef prepared breakfast for us . Their biscuits and gravy is a must try . The scrambled egg was heavenly, sausages were perfect cooked , toasts were delicious. Buy their homemade bread . The staff who served us was so amazing and friendly. We felt like home ( we were the only customers at that time ) so they were able to take care of us . Please be ready to wait to get food , as it’s made fresh ..

Love this place. It's been about 6 years since last here, but the food and ambiance are great. Service was good, but only two people for a Sunday morning breakfast rush of at least 50 people. They were working hard.

Located in a beautiful scenic spot. Museum and tribute photos are great! Food was average. Pretty sure they are experiencing the staffing shortage as wait times and frazzled workers were evident. Bathroom wasn't very clean and needs some updates. Overall I'm glad to say I've been but probably won't go back.

Holy cow this place is good. They sit you quick, they tell you what they are serving that day, you say yes and they bring you your food. A dead simple formula that they nail with Laser precision. Our host/waitresses was amazing and friendly and carried the entire serving area with a smile. Are food was amazing and they had a good (small) selection of local beer. Would go again!

I’m reviewing their service and the museum inside (NOT THE FOOD) All the meals here have been served more than 105 years. I’m not sure how good the food are but they are very crowded. The little museum inside the cookhouse is so COOL, you will get to see how old days cooking material be like and more… We were running out of time so we can’t eat but I’m sure the food is great and that’s why so many people came here. Also they only serve one dish each meal and it’s different everyday.

I have always loved this eating establishment since the first time I ever found it! Which could be twenty years ago! I know it has been there longer, much longer than that! I hope it stays longer! Everytime I am in the area I try to go! I love bringing new people with me too! Here is why: the staff are quite friendly. The place is full of history. It is clean. Food is delicious! There is no way that you will leave hungry! I am so grateful that I was able to go again! I also bought bread to bring home!

An old logger's cookhouse that's been converted into an eatery, features a very limited menu and quick service. The staff here are hard working and very nice, so be sure to have some patience with them. I came in for breakfast and the food was great! If you want seconds or thirds, they are more than happy to accommodate. Be sure to buy a loaf of their bread (made in-house) and check out the museum featuring all sorts of turn-of-the-century artifacts from the building's past.

Seafood restaurant
Gills By the Bay is a seafood restaurant in Eureka, California that has great food and a 50s-vibe. The service is friendly and attentive, and the chowder is delicious!
We came from Sacramento for a weekend away to visit some beautiful hikes. A local who used to work here recommended this place. The crab eggs Benedict was absolutely perfect taste wise, the sauce tasted exactly like it should, although the yolk was a bit too firm, the side salad was really good the lettuce was fresh and crisp. Husband had crab omelette but he felt like there was not enough crab in his dish and there were barely any bell peppers (they are extra to add). It is a bit stuffy inside, but still a nice atmosphere. It might be better if some of the windows were cracked open an inch or two. There was a sign on the patio that only service dogs are allowed. The staff were friendly and hardworking. I would come back to try their seafood chowder next.

Great and popular place. We hit the Sunday lunch rush, but didn't have to wait for a table. We got our beverages right away - lemonade tasted house-made, water, and the large glass of champagne - but did wait a bit for our food (which was understandable, as they were slammed). Food worth the wait! BLT and fries were perfect; cold crab sandwich was stuffed with delicious crab in mayo with bit of green onion - no fillers! Our dessert was mixed berry pie, and vanilla ice cream. Despite being in the weeds, the staff was friendly and took the time to explain the dishes (we were newbies), and the owner talked to us about the photos, etc., on the wall., and history. We'll go back!

Food: Gumbo is good.  Shrimp and chicken is a slight kick. Salad has chicken peas and pickled beets.  Good solid side salad. The coleslaw is lacking flavor. The fries are semi think cut but perfectly seasoned... Great Job. The clam cutlet is pounded clam then breaded and pan fried.  It's heavy on the breading but its also heavy on the flavor... thumbs up. The fish and chips are pretty good too.  Taste like beer battered .. flaky and moist white fish (cod) I think inside a golden brown shell. This is the kind of place that deserves several visits, as long as you are OK with leaving your dog at home or in the car — assuming that it is a cloudy, misty, low temperature, safe day! — because there are nearby trails great for dog walking. (Although there is an outside deck and grounds, only certified ADA dogs are permitted.) The menu is standard diner fare, and there is a range of comfortable seating options, both inside and outside. During busy times, it may take a while before your order is taken, but once it is in, it pops out relatively quickly (yay!), and when sitting at the counter, water and coffee refills are provided in a timely manner. I can recommend any iteration of things with gravy on them: full biscuits, potatoes and gravy, a half order, or “Bobbie’s Biscuit.” Portions were generous and filling. I appreciated having the option of tomato juice (which I could spice up with Tabasco), and there are also mimosas 🥂available. During my visit in early October, the specials on the whiteboard included both Crab 🦀 Omelette and Crab Benedict. Other seafood based options were also available.

Delicious fresh made food! Although the restaurant was busy the waitress and cooks were working hard! While it was beautiful to sit outside, there was a wait so we belly’d up to the bar and watched how efficient and quick everyone worked together. Ordered a cup of their seafood chowder that had clams, shrimp and mushrooms and the Sandy Beach Sandwich with bay shrimp, bacon, green onions and cheddar cheese on grilled sourdough with fries. Sitting at the bar we were able to see all of the food that came out! They had a hot and cold crab sandwich that both looked delicious . Their Pub Cod sandwich was huge! The Shrimp Louie salad was big and had a lot of bay shrimp on it. This place was definitely worth the wait! Don’t miss out!

The cod and bread was super fresh but the staff seemed frazzled and took away from enjoying this cozy seaside restaurant. We were sat easily enough and chose inside since the outside tables were full. Our food came out quickly. I'd eat here again. Bonus they have a very small flower garden and a dock to walk out to the ocean. There are blackberry bushes along the back of the parking lot that we enjoyed as we walked from a nearby Airbnb.
Melissa D — Google review
The food itself was good and well-prepared, with flavors that made the meal enjoyable. Menu options seemed solid, and the quality was not the issue. The service, however, was poorly executed. Staff and kitchen operations felt disorganized, and the waitress unexpectedly took my plate mid-bite after realizing it was the wrong sandwich. The lack of coordination significantly detracted from the experience.

Truly disgusting food. I got a shrimp sandwich with bay shrimp thinking that since we were on a bay, they'd not be bag frozen. Imagine paying for mayo cheese and a fist of microwaved shrimp sandwich at a place on the water. At least I didn't get food poisoning

Day 4

Center of town
For day 4, we recommend exploring the center side of town. Start the day off with Halvorsen Park, then wind down and take it easy by the time you get to Sequoia Park Garden. All together, your day would be filled with about 7 hours of non-stop fun.

Park
Halvorsen Park is an underappreciated park with limited activities, but it offers a pleasant environment for strolling. It is highly recommended for picnics as there are ample tables available, providing a scenic view of the ocean and passing boats. The parking area is spacious enough to leave your car and explore the surroundings on a bicycle. This park seems to attract bikers, making it a potential location for biking events in the future.
Despite the obvious displaced lives, this is one of the most beautiful places in Eureka. Tons of artwork, scenic atmosphere and Bay trail is a treasure only found here.

Open space, a nice place to take my dog. Did see any signs that dogs needed to be leashed. But I would bring the leash regardless.

A relatively quiet place to park during the day for a few hours. The view of the water is limited but okay. There is a huge and very active off-leash dog field right next to it, so if you have a reactive dog, best to skip this one. There was some unhoused people-traffic nearby but nothing too worrisome.

I remember years ago they were going to put in a bunch of hotels down there for cruise lines they were going to bring in. The contractor who was supposed to build the motels ended up burning the county or whatever. He left all these steel beams and building supplies down there for Years. As kids we would ride bikes and other dumb shit down there like kids do. I heard Led Zepplin for the first time down there. A day that changed My life.... Anyways they finally cleaned up down there and for the most part its really nice down there. I havent eaten down there but I think they have restraunts in the area. Its nice to check out carson mansion and the other victorians down there and imagine what it use to be like in the 1800s.

Well, I have to say this is a very underrated park. I mean there are not alot of thing that you can do there but it is a very nice place to walk around. I recommend you to do picnic there. There are table that you can sit on the right and you also able to see the ocean and the boat. The parking lot is pretty much very big, you can leave you car there and ride your bike around.

It's a nice peaceful place to just lose yourself in. It's also a great place to people watch, if you like that kind of stuff, because there are all walks of life that go through there.

Situated in the historic Bank of Eureka building, the Clarke Historical Museum was established by Cecile Clarke to showcase Humboldt County's diverse history. The museum features exhibits on the gold rush era, logging industry, and Native American cultures of the region. Visitors can explore Victorian-era elegance and experience life as ranchers or farmers through interactive programs. The museum's mission is to preserve and interpret Northwestern California's history, offering a rich collection of woven baskets from local tribes.
Very cool! They don’t require that you pay to visit but they ask if you can give them a $5 donation if possible. Guy at the front desk desk was lovely and very helpful! Museum had a lot of interesting info about the city and surrounding area. Loved it!

I wanted to visit the large Native American collection of Northern California Tribes and was not disappointed. You will find a small museum in an old bank building with a number of exhibits and collections including Native American, guns, gems and minerals, local history, and much more. The Hallstone and Hover collections in the Native American exhibit includes baskets from the local Yurok and Karuk tribes. The Becker collection includes necklaces from the local tribes made from sea shells and pine nuts. The gun collection includes historic firearms and weapons including muskets, swords, and small guns. I also found a nice quilt display, a mineral collection, a Victorian Room display, and a number of local history exhibits including the expulsion of the Chinese. Located on E street in downtown Eureka with limited parking on the streets. A nice place to stop and learn about the local history of Humboldt County and the local tribes with a Native American plant collection in front of the museum.

Nice museum, right in old town square. Very lively and friendly employees. Lots of great artifacts encased in glass. An employee named Jason gave us a little tour, so that was lovely.

The Clarke Historical Museum in Eureka is one of the most fascinating places in the city and a true treasure for anyone who loves history and culture. Located right in the heart of Old Town in a beautiful historic bank building, the museum itself feels like stepping back in time before you even walk inside. The architecture alone is worth admiring, with its grand design and sense of old world Humboldt charm, but the real magic is what you find once you step through the doors. The exhibits are packed with stories and artifacts that bring the history of Humboldt County and Northern California to life. One of the highlights is the incredible Native American collection, especially the Yurok, Hupa, and Karuk basketry. The craftsmanship is breathtaking and it gives you a real sense of the depth and richness of local tribal traditions. These displays are not just beautiful to look at, they tell powerful stories about the people who lived here long before Eureka was a city, and they help you understand the cultural roots of the region. The museum also covers the history of the Gold Rush, logging, and the settlement of Humboldt, giving visitors a clear picture of how the area developed over time. You will find photographs, clothing, tools, and personal items that make the history feel human and real rather than just dates on a timeline. Walking through the museum feels like piecing together the lives of the people who shaped this area. Temporary and rotating exhibits keep the museum fresh, so even if you have been before there is always something new to learn. From local art displays to specialized history features, the Clarke keeps the experience engaging and relevant. The staff and volunteers here are knowledgeable and passionate. They are always ready to answer questions, share details about an exhibit, or point out something you might have missed. That personal touch makes the visit even more memorable. What I love most about the Clarke Historical Museum is how it connects you to Humboldt’s identity. It is not just a collection of artifacts, it is a story about where this community came from and what shaped it. The museum has a way of making history feel alive and connected to the present, reminding you of the deep roots that run through this place. For me the Clarke Historical Museum is one of the most important cultural landmarks in Eureka. It is a place that combines beauty, history, and education in a way that is inspiring and meaningful. Whether you are a local wanting to learn more about your home or a visitor curious about the history of Humboldt, this museum is a must see. Every time I leave I feel like I understand and appreciate this region on a deeper level.

Small but densely packed museum in Eureka. The first section is natural history and has a large collection of birds and rocks. There is a Vietnam war memorial that focuses on some of the locals. A Victorian section showcases the history of the area. The middle section is reserved for rotating exhibits. On our visit they were showcasing quilts. Lastly, they have the largest collection of Native American baskets in the country! Pretty neat for such a small museum. Definitely a great visit. Suggested donation of $5 for kids and $10 for adults.

Good experience and multiple items to view. Small and good for a quick visit to learn a bit more about this area, no charge, only a suggested donation asked.

What a wonderful museum dedicated to the history of the Humboldt community! Only suggested donation, no tickets required. Their current exhibits focused on Mckinleyville and the history of native tribes in the area, and were quite moving to read, view, and experience. Highly recommended!

The Morris Graves Museum of Art, housed in a neoclassical building dating back to 1902, showcases artwork from the Pacific Northwest region. The museum features three galleries and a gift shop where visitors can purchase many of the displayed pieces at reasonable prices. While aesthetics are subjective, the exhibited art is technically impressive. Admission is free with a suggested $5 donation. One notable artwork on display is 'Orange Man', which was created by an artist associated with the museum.
Museum was in a 100 year old Carnegie Library building beautifully kept. Wonderful exhibits of local area artists several of whom are nationally and internationally acclaimed. The exhibit of masks done by local elementary children was amazing. So nice the staff at the museum does these things with the children and the community. The gift shop was one of the best we have seen in the many museums we visited across the country. It was filled with unique items many sources from local artist and many also sources from artists in Nepal. Much of the sales from those went back to those artists. The gentleman who bought the gift shop products did a fantastic job. Everything was reasonably priced and made choosing something for a gift a difficult choice. Admission to the museum was $5 and $2 for seniors. Well worth the hour we spent here. Great stop in Eureka.

The Morris Graves Museum of Art is one of Eureka’s cultural treasures and a place that truly feels like the heart of the local art scene. From the moment you step up to the building, you can tell you are about to experience something special. The museum is housed in the beautifully restored historic Carnegie Library, and the architecture itself sets the tone with its elegant, classical style. It feels both historic and alive with creativity. Inside, the museum offers a wonderful variety of experiences. There are seven galleries with rotating exhibits that highlight both local talent and artists from across the Pacific Northwest, alongside works by Morris Graves himself, one of the most influential artists to come from this region. His art, often focused on nature and mysticism, feels perfectly at home here on the North Coast, surrounded by forests, ocean, and wild landscapes. Each visit brings something different because of the rotating shows, so there is always something new to discover. Beyond the galleries, the museum is also a community hub. The central rotunda hosts concerts, poetry readings, and performances that bring the space to life in a way that goes far beyond what most small-town art museums offer. There is also a sculpture garden and classrooms for art education, showing that this space is as much about nurturing the next generation of artists as it is about celebrating established ones. The museum is welcoming and accessible, with affordable admission and even free entry on the first Saturday of every month. The staff and volunteers are warm and knowledgeable, adding to the sense that this is not just a museum but a gathering place for the community. Whether you are an art lover, a history buff, or just someone who wants to spend a quiet afternoon surrounded by creativity, the Morris Graves Museum is an inspiring place to be. What stands out most is how much it reflects the spirit of Eureka and Humboldt County itself. It blends history, creativity, and community in a way that feels deeply rooted in place. Visiting here is a chance to connect with the artistic soul of the region, and it is absolutely worth the time for anyone living in or traveling through the North Coast.

Cooper Gulch Recreation Center

Park
Cooper Gulch Recreation Center is a charming park with a fun disc golf course featuring mostly easy holes, making it perfect for a relaxed game. The park offers activities like walking, dog-walking, and playing in the ball field or skate park. Visitors can enjoy the beautiful redwoods and well-maintained surroundings. While some areas may need improvement in terms of water drainage and erosion control, it's still a great place to unwind and have fun with various recreational activities.
I come here everyday, and this creek is clogged as in the photos, can we clean this up so the water runs smoothly. Or do I need to call the City of Eureka to do it?
Stacey M — Google review
I grew up going to this place, and its had its good days and bad ones, but it is an overwhelmingly positive addition to the surrounding area. Many people don't get out enough for various reasons, and this place makes that pretty convenient as it's an easy stop in to eat lunch, walk with or without a dog, watch the birds, the wind in the trees, or just not be inside for a while. You might see a homeless person or someone might be drinking a beer somewhere along the way, but I personally have never encountered any aggressive activity in the 46 years I've lived in Humboldt County, 40 of which I can remember going to coopers gulch. There are baseball fields, and a small skate park which I actually helped some younger kids at the time petition the city for. It's not a giant redwood forest park, or a small childs play park with equipment, but somehow both of those things in ways. Totally Enjoyable, Have Fun!

This is a nice place for a walk through. Part of the trail is in redwoods and evergreen trees. The disc golf course appears to be quite a challenge. Lots of groups use the course and enjoy the setting. Be aware that in the summer months there may be some homeless people, most of whom are no problem but be aware. After many many walks over the years through the park I have had no threatening situations.

Beautiful disc golf course, a little hard to follow, but we eventually found all (?) 9 holes. Great for dogs to tag along. The park was mostly clean, beautiful redwoods everywhere. They also had a baseball field, skate park, etc.
Kelli W — Google review
Little park in the middle of Eureka. At this moment the park is not well maintained, the grass is very tall. At the end of the day, the park can be a little scary. Despite of that, at day time this is a good option to take the dogs for a walking. Furthermore, the park has a very nice skateboard area and a frisbee field.

This park has a Frisbee golf course, ball field and large skate park that is always busy. I've never seen the bathrooms open. Nice small loop to walk with your dog or throw the ball in the field. Please clean up after your pets.

Sequoia Park Garden is a beloved 67-acre public park in Eureka, featuring a 40-acre original redwood grove and an adjacent zoo. The garden boasts a diverse collection of flowers and trees, including colorful dahlias that bloom in July. It's a relaxing place to enjoy nature, with well-maintained trails among the giant redwood trees and areas for kids to play. Visitors can also explore the nearby skywalk at the zoo.
It’s small but still a relaxing place you can come and just enjoy the different plants. Wasn’t so crowded and it’s next to the zoo. Easy to walk through and still beautiful to enjoy. Parking is along the street but if you don’t like this you can go next door and visit the skywalk they have in the zoo. Be aware and be safe out there!

This garden is incredible. We make sure to stop by and visit the beautiful plentiful colorful dahlias whenever we are passing through Eureka (which usually happens to be in July). Thank you so much for those who maintain and beautify this garden. This is such a treasure. Anyone passing through Eureka in the summer should 100% stop here!
Leah — Google review
Sequoia Park Garden in Eureka is one of the most enchanting and peaceful corners of the city, a place that feels like stepping into a secret sanctuary hidden inside the larger park. While the redwoods and trails of Sequoia Park are awe inspiring in their own right, the garden offers a more intimate kind of beauty. It is carefully tended, full of color and texture, and designed in a way that makes you want to slow down and really notice the details around you. Every time I visit, it feels like entering a quiet escape from the rest of the world. The garden is filled with seasonal flowers, blooming shrubs, and beautifully landscaped pathways that wind through the space. Depending on the time of year, you might see roses bursting with color, rhododendrons glowing in spring light, or dahlias adding their bold shapes and hues to the summer beds. The variety makes the garden feel alive year round, and there is always something new to notice. It is the kind of place where you can bring a book, sit on a bench, and just enjoy the peace of being surrounded by so much natural beauty. What I love about Sequoia Park Garden is the way it contrasts with the towering redwoods nearby. You can take a walk under trees that are hundreds of feet tall, then step into the garden where everything is smaller in scale but just as impressive in detail. The fragrance of flowers, the buzzing of bees, and the fluttering of butterflies all add to the sense of calm. It is a reminder that nature is not only about grand landscapes but also about the delicate beauty of individual blooms and careful design. The garden is also a favorite spot for locals to gather. Couples come here for photos, families stroll the paths together, and community members often use it as a quiet space to relax. Weddings and special events are sometimes held here, and it is easy to see why because the setting feels timeless and elegant. For me, Sequoia Park Garden is one of the hidden gems of Eureka. It is not as large or as well known as the zoo or the Sky Walk, but it has its own unique charm that makes it unforgettable. Every visit feels restorative, like you have been given a moment to pause and breathe deeply. It is one of those places that shows off the softer side of Humboldt’s natural beauty, and it is one I always recommend to anyone who wants to experience something truly peaceful in the city.
Siare K — Google review
Beautiful free gardens! Walked by here after the zoo. Came at the end of June and almost everything was in full bloom! Huge variety of mature flowers in bright colors.
Amanda W — Google review
Sequoia Park Garden is one of those peaceful little spots that’s easy to miss but totally worth finding. It’s right next to the zoo and the forest trails, and it feels like a quiet escape tucked into the edge of town. If you’re into flowers, hummingbirds, or just want a calm place to relax, this place is perfect. There’s a cute gazebo in the middle, a big open lawn where you can stretch out with a book, and benches scattered around for when you just want to sit and take it all in. The flower beds are full of color, especially in spring and summer, and there are always pollinators buzzing around—bees, butterflies, and tons of hummingbirds. It’s fun to try and snap pictures of them as they flit from flower to flower. It’s never too crowded, which makes it a great spot to unwind. Whether you’re coming from the zoo or just walking through the park, this little garden is a nice place to stop and catch your breath. It feels peaceful, like you’ve stepped into a slower, quieter world for a bit. This isn’t a big touristy place—it’s more of a local favorite where you can sit, think, daydream, or just enjoy being surrounded by nature. Honestly, it's one of the best places in Eureka to just chill. Grab a coffee, bring your camera, or pack a lunch and make it a relaxing part of your day.

Gabriel’s Italian Restaurant is a charming trattoria in old town Eureka, offering a cozy atmosphere with occasional live music and a selection of classic Italian dishes. The menu features small plates and hearty mains, including delectable options like salmon ravioli and Fettuccine Frutti De Mare. Guests rave about the artichoke heart fritters, bruschetta, and fried artichokes as must-try appetizers.
Very cozy and mellow atmosphere. Restrooms are upstairs, old building is refurbished and very quaint. Service was super friendly and helpful. Small plates were great, all pasta and ravioli and everything was well plated and tasted fantastic. Creme Brule was great dessert to share!

Let me just say that this is a gem. Please if nothing else go and get a drink at their superbly stocked and professionally tended bar. If you like rare liquors, you will be delighted. You will want to stay for dinner once you smell and see the food being served. Great Italian fare and seriously fine steaks. Great atmosphere and great food. Don't forget the dessert!

I LOVE Gabriel's! I go here a lot because the staff is awesome, the food is fantastic and I enjoy the atmosphere. I highly recommend the gnocchi. I enjoyed reading through all the bad reviews of this place - not sure if those people are severely fragile or what, but I'm sure they are making stuff up and looking for reasons to be offended. I've gone here once or twice a month for 15 years and have never seen or experienced what some of these people are complaining about. kind of surprised they didn't claim to find glass in their food....
Wayne — Google review
So disapointed!! The pasta was cold. Not even slightly warm. The filet mignon was an excellent cut of meat but they ruined it by putting this vinegary, sweet coating on it that was disgusting. Steak sauce should be an option, putting that on a nice piece of meat is a crime, ordered medium rare, but it was well done. The cocktails were horrible. The old fashion had so much sugar in it you couldn't taste the bourbon, just sugar. Their house special cocktail, the dark and stormy was just ginger ale, barely any alcohol, if any, felt like I was drinking a bad soda full of bitters. Finally just switched to beer and a shot. Took an hour to get our food. Sad, was so looking forward to eating there.
Matthew B — Google review
I came to Gabriel's this past Valentines with my partner, and it was such a great experience. The service was really nice, the server was very charming (I wish I could remember his name 😅), and he checked on us the perfect amount. Not too often, not too infrequently. And when we finished dinner, we didn't feel rushed to leave at all. We were allowed to sit and enjoy the rest of our wine. I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The lighting was soft and warm toned, making it feel very comfortable and intimate. The tables were arranged so that the ceiling lights wouldn't be directly above your head, but in the spaces between tables. Loved that. Their menu features tons of local seafood. One of the appetizers we had was steamed Manila clams in a garlic butter wine sauce with cherry tomatoes. Delicious umami sauce with the fresh lemon and cherry tomatoes, it was very bright and refreshing. Perfect for a starter. The other appetizer we got was fried polenta with mushrooms; my partner said it was some of the best polenta he's had. The side Caesar salad was good, I thought it was the perfect amount of dressing and cheese. The only thing with the food that I was disappointed in was the seasonal vegetables served with my entrée. It was lightly battered black cod served with Jasmine rice and the said seasonal vegetables. I usually love seeing seasonal veggies on the menu, so I was looking forward to that aspect of the meal. The disappointment came from the fact that my plate had a generous portion of roasted carrots and one single brussels sprout. The carrots were very tasty and well cooked, I'm just a bit sad I didn't get more variety, at least a couple more brussels sprouts. I understand that our reservation was closer to the end of when they were seating people (it was 8:30, they stopped seating at 9), so I get that they may have just been running low on their veggies at that point. That's the only thing that I can say that's not positive, though. The picture here was my entrée that I talk about. My partner has no complaints about the pasta dish he ordered, Frutti de Mare, aka fruit of the sea. It featured prawns, cod, and little mini shrimps. He actually made himself eat it all in one sitting because it was so good. I had leftovers, and the staff boxed my food for me. The wine selection was good, we thoroughly enjoyed a bottle of a New Zealand Sauvinon Blanc called Sea Cove that pared excellently with the seafood dishes. Highly recommend if you love seafood and want a fine dining experience to celebrate a special occasion.

Gabriel's is delicious and if you like Italian food it's a must-do in Eureka. Our awesome server Stanson recommended an appetizer, I cant remember the name but I normally would have never tried it and I'm so glad I did because it was delicious. The servings are large, enough for two so you can try multiple options! We had the salad, gnocchi, and desserts. SO DELICIOUS. Afterwards we sat at the bar for a drink... what a fun place with a TON of options and friendly bartender.

The service is fantastic, our server was very attentive, but not too much and incredibly knowledgeable about anything on the menu. The filet mignon and veal parmesan are both DELICIOUS and highly recommended. The atmosphere was nice and relaxing. There was music playing through the speakers at first, then a guitarist came in and was playing live music that went incredibly well with the restaurant's ambience. Overall, a memorable experience. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough
Samuel G — Google review
Very unsatisfactory experience. We had reservations for early dinner seating on Saturday date night, so not like we just walked in. Things started out ok - ordered non alcoholic drinks and appetizer and then dinner salads which came in a timely manner, but once tables started to fill up, it was impossible to get the attention of our waitress. She never once checked on us and seemed to be avoiding possible eye contact. Dinner plates came and the balsamic glaze on my filet mignon was burnt to a hard crust, ruining an otherwise very nice cut of meat. Finally got the waitress attention and she took my plate back to kitchen. She came back to tell me the chef agreed it had been ruined...and then I waited...and waited...and was ignored... and told my husband to eat his meal. Waitress seemed to have forgotten about me - didn't see if I wanted another drink or bread or something and was a pro at avoiding eye contact. 15 min later when I finally got her attention, having my date night ruined, I told her to just box it up to go. She's says to me - get this- "you don't have to take it if you don't want it" in the most condescending and phony manner. Incredulous, I tell her that I came here wanting dinner, but it was ruined and I sat here while my husband had to eat by himself! She then quickly brings me a box, which thankfully we weren't charged for. When I get home I find they gave me a poorer cut of overcooked meat with the rest of the meal the had slid off my plate. Disgraceful. The menu hasn't changed in years and is stale. The wait staff is rude and condescending. The building is in disrepair. Do yourself a favor and take your loved one somewhere else!

We ordered a pepperoni pizza for to go. It was ready rather quickly which was impressive for how good it was. They have huge slices of pizza, thin and cooked well. Sauce tastes great. The price wasn’t bad at all for what we got. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area.

Paul’s Live From New York Pizza has several locations. I ate at the Eureka location. The food lives up to the name. I ordered their Margherita pizza, and it was delectable. Their Eggplant Parmigiana hero is also excellent. The hot sandwiches come with french fries, or for a little extra, you get a garden salad. Restaurant
Nestled in the heart of Eureka, "Pachanga Mexicana" is a charming family-owned restaurant that has been delighting locals and visitors alike since its establishment in 1999. This cozy eatery prides itself on serving authentic Mexican cuisine crafted from fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Upon entering, guests are welcomed by friendly staff and a warm atmosphere adorned with lovely decor.
Some of the best Mexican food I’ve had. Everything is house made and it shows the level of care they have for their food. The tortillas and tortilla chips are great and so are the house made salsas. I’ve had the chicken mole and the layered enchiladas which were both extremely flavorful and delicious. They have a great drink list as well with fairly priced margaritas and tequila selection. Definitely a spot to frequent and not look anywhere else for great Mexican.

Absolutely amazing experience here. We’re in town visiting and decided to stop here for lunch. Service was excellent, space was clean, and we got our food super quick. I ordered the enchilada ranchera with chicken and oh my god, absolutely PHENOMENAL! The rice and beans were 10/10 too! Super tasty dishes that aren’t made with processed ingredients; everything is made in house and sourced locally.

The ladies that are this kitchen. Are very genuine, nice, good looking. And very respectful. They make everything hand made. I loved it. Passing through. This is where I stopped after being on the road for 3 days. This was my first meal that I have had after a long drive

Went out looking for a good Mexican place because I am not too thrilled with the one closest to where I live. I let Google make some suggestions based on location and the first place I tried was great. Super quaint and lovely decor, I was greeted by friendly staff and immediately shown to a table. Angelica came by with menus and info and gave me some suggestions as a first timer. I opted for the Empanada, and was lucky because Stacy who also was helping out told me I could go half and half with the red sauce/green sauce. The food is absolutely delicious and clearly authentic and homemade. The chips were fresh and the cabbage salsa is to die for! So I had the pork in the empanada and it was tender and moist, well seasoned and not too salty. Full of flavor and juicy goodness. I am happy to say the prices were fair and with a lovely pineapple cider and tip I was out the door for about $25. Stuffed. Highly recommend this local family-run gem.

My husband is a long time patron, however this is the first time I’ve been! Great service, delicious food, big portions! Absolutely satisfied. They even have a kids table and my almost 2 year old stayed occupied the whole time! I even got to meet the owner and her granddaughter. 10/10

I can’t begin to describe the experience of my tastebuds! Ay dios mio!!!! Hands down THE best Mexican food I’ve ever had. You can taste the LOVE in every dish and see the smiling faces of those in the kitchen. Homemade EVERYTHING including the tortillas that taste the way home feels. You will leave with a full belly ( possibly a popped button on your jeans) and a happy feeling. The photo below was the chili relleno burrito. I ate everything else too fast to take pictures 🫣

Sooo good! They make their own tortillas, tortilla chips and other delicious food!!! Everything was just sooo good! Definitely worth stopping in if you enjoy yummy Mexican food. You won't be disappointed.

Indian restaurant
Tandoori Bites Indian Cuisine is a beloved restaurant in Humboldt County, known for its authentic and spicy Indian food. The family-owned business prides itself on making fresh bread and scratch-made sauces. Despite being the only Indian restaurant in the area, some customers feel that the dishes lack the expected level of spiciness and flavor found in traditional Indian cuisine.
The waiter was so cute and very attentive. We ordered a bunch of vegan or veganized stuff and everything was great! Will definitely come here again next time I'm in Eureka. Oh, there was a hobo out front when I went in, asking for change, I didn't have any but I did give him an orange, I'd planned to give him some of my leftovers, but he was gone when I came out.

I had one of the worst dining experiences at this restaurant. The food was absolutely disappointing—bland, poorly cooked, and nowhere near authentic. For the price they charge, I expected at least decent quality, but what I got was completely unacceptable. I’ve attached a picture of the food they served me during dine-in, and it speaks for itself. The presentation was sloppy, the portion was ridiculous, and the taste was even worse. On top of that, the service was slow and indifferent, making the whole experience even more frustrating. I strongly do not recommend this place. Save your time and money—there are plenty of better Indian restaurants out there. Avoid this place unless you want to waste your money on subpar food!

After 9:30 service is awful. Extremely unapologetic staff. We were tired from a long trip so we just put up with crappy no service. No welcome nothing. Treated like to go menu. Served in plastic to go containers. Very small quantities. Bad food. Bad service. Made a mistake on my order and did not offer an apology or did anything to compensate for mess up. Avoid this place.

Butter chicken was good. Late night limited menu but still plenty of good options.

Very good food and great service. I had unwisely asked for a korma with hot spice, but ended up finding it too spicy. When I asked for the korma to be redone, the staff were super kind and re-did the korma in medium spice, free of charge. Highly recommend Tandoori Bites if you want great Indian food with high quality service in a great atmosphere.

Nice place, the food was average ; I really like Indian spices but the food was bland to me.

The food came out really quick, the assorted appetizer is an amazing deal and you get to try 4 things. The lamb curry was so spicy and delicious with the rice and onion kulcha (like naan) 🫓. Ended the meal with a chai ☕️ and gulab jamun which means purple rose 🌹 and yes sometimes they use rose water in this dessert here.

Food was awesome. Especially chicken korma. Have good gravy with nuts. Fresh naans and rotis. Good and rich flavors and definitely one is hungry, it is great. The only thing to notice is that the quantity is quite less compared to market standards but otherwise all great.
