Grocery store
Albrook Mall is the largest shopping center in Panama, conveniently located near the Albrook Gran Terminal. It offers a wide range of amenities including a hotel, casino, bars, supermarket, and various dining options. The mall boasts spacious passages and stadium-type cinemas with a capacity for 2,500 people. With completely air-conditioned department and brand stores, it also provides 5,000 parking spaces with strict security measures in place.
I love this mall. It was my first time visiting. I was immediately impressed and in love. Lots of huge department stores. Well-known brand name stores. And for a true shopaholic, deals, sales and bargains galore. There is something for everyone (shopping, casino, movies, bowling, grocery, pharmacy, foodie etc al) Lots of walking There was a train but we didn't use it We stayed 5 days and did not get to visit alot of the mall, especially the side with the super 99 store. It's really bustling on Saturdays Nice and calm during the week I'm definitely going back I recommend to anyone who needs retail therapy.
KV J — Google review
This is the largest mall in Central America and it has a lot stores. You have to plan your day properly because you can spend hours there shopping lol. There were a few cheap stores but keep in mind the material might not worth the cost for some items. I got some shorts and I love them.
Tasheika M — Google review
Visiting Albrook Mall in the evening was an unforgettable experience this place is enormous and full of life, even as the sun went down! The energy was electric, with crowds of people taking advantage of the mall’s endless shopping options. I was amazed by the variety, from well known brands to budget friendly local stalls, all offering great deals that made browsing even more exciting. The playful themed sections, like the elephant area, added a fun and unique touch, making it stand out from any other mall. Even in the evening, the sheer size of the place was impressive you could easily spend hours here and still not see everything! Arrive with time to spare! Whether you come in the morning or evening, Albrook Mall is a retail paradise with unbeatable prices. But at night, it takes on a vibrant, bustling atmosphere that makes shopping feel like an adventure. Don’t miss out this is the ultimate spot for great finds and endless exploration!
Gilbert R — Google review
A huge mall with a massive food court. There is a carousel inside. I particularly like that at each entrance there is an animal statue making easy for tour to determine where you are especially when ordering an Uber. Really thoughtful feature.
LaShaun R — Google review
Lots of walking but it is a beautiful mall. I loved the store Stevens. Got some good stuff there.
Toni M — Google review
Nice mall with options for cheap buys and lots of dining options. The animal statues are cool and the mall is easy to get to with the subway. Happened to catch the typical dance right in the middle of it.
Suzana D — Google review
This mall is huge. There are several large food courts, therefore many options. If you drive, make sure to keep track of where you parked your car.

National Parks
Metropolitan Natural Park, established in 1988, is an urban wildlife refuge located just outside the main Panama City area. It offers a variety of easy-to-moderate trails, picnic areas, and dedicated lookout points. As Central America's only protected tropical forest within city limits, it attracts nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers seeking to capture the diverse flora and fauna.
What a magnificent place right in the middle of Panama. This place is magical ✨️ I love how the rays of the sun gently kissed the plants. The air is clean, crisp, and fresh. Lots of Fauna and Flora. Colorful butterflies. The breathtaking views made this an amazing experience. It costs $2 for locals.
G D — Google review
Metropolitan Natural Park was such a great stop! It’s only $5 to enter, and there are about 5 miles of trails to explore. We did the hike to the scenic overlook — about 3 miles round trip — and it was very family-friendly. It’s uphill, but not too steep or difficult. The views at the top are amazing, with a full panorama of Panama City and the sea dotted with ships waiting to enter the canal. We even saw some monkeys along the way! Highly recommend if you’re looking for an easy nature escape right near the city.
Cara H — Google review
Beautiful park, perfect for some hike. Be aware that when they say moderate to describe the intensity of the trail it really means intense for kids or elders.
Gonzalo ( — Google review
We arrived late - about 1/2 hour before official closing, but were told that we could go on one of the shorter trails if we were back by 5. Lovely walk, hot! But nice observation area at top of trail, and we saw an agouti(?) some turtles, butterflies, spiders, a small scorpion, and lots of cool flora. Go.
Sheila B — Google review
A hike easy enough for the whole family. Various routes that take about 1 - 2hrs to navigate observantly. Steepest part is the final 10mins to get above the canopy where the reward is the view. Can get hot and humid so bring water.
Lana G — Google review
We loved this park and seeing all the animals! Hated seeing the flying cockroaches, but everything else was awesome.
Janice E — Google review
A beautiful place to enjoy nature just 10 minutes from the city. We saw agoutis, butterflies, hummingbirds and turtles.

Seafood market
Fresh food market
Seafood restaurant
Mercado De Marisco Cinta Costera, also known as the fish market, is a seafood haven in Panama City. It features over 70 stalls offering the freshest seafood and provides an opportunity for visitors to handpick their own seafood and have it prepared in the open-air restaurant located above the market hall. The market offers a variety of raw seafood sold by the pound indoors, while outside there are about 20 ceviche and fish stands serving cooked food at affordable prices.
The atmosphere was good. The food was fresh and good. We had a good time. I will come back again.

The different shops have the same menu but we chose Venas Azules in our last visit. Beware! the waiters will suggest dishes that combined many items in the menu so make sure that you understand what you are ordering from the menu. The vibe feels authentic, not luxury. The environment is clean and functional and you can see the fisherman's boats from the other side of the deck. Overall good experience and friendly staff.

I don't like eating with bugs too many biting insects there. I went to a restaurant I will post the picture. This is a place that screws tourists with prices. Lobster was chewy as hell
Karen B — Google review
Not at all the "Must do" thing suggested in blogs. It pales in comparison to fish markets elsewhere in the world. It's relatively small, not very busy and a bit underwhelming and boring. The good thing is foreigners probably don't buy anything, they just go to look, so no one hassles you. You can get food whilst there in the outside, covered restaurants downstairs. Chose wisely. I went to Allison restaurant and it was expensive and not great.
D — Google review
The food was awesome. The right vendor will walk you to the market to pick out your own fresh still alive seafood and cook right there for you. With the garlic butter sauce. They only take cash so bring your money with you. You also get a free margarita or frozen drink of your choice.

This was one of my bucket list fish markets to visit. This market is exceptional with many cevisherias in the same building. If in Panama City, don't miss it.

Fried whole Red snapper with Salsa de Camarones (Shrimp Sauce): sauce has a base of tomato, onion, pepper, and cream or coconut milk for richness. Shrimp, coconut rice, and a coleslaw. Along side is a jugo de passionfruit (blended passionfruit juice). Add Rosa, the best server with the prettiest smile and you have an amazing experience.

If you're gonna eat here go straight to Rosa from la Promesa, with her friendly smile good prices and excellent service, it will not disappoint! I had the pulpo in coconut sauce with a beer, fries and a small ceviche for 13 usd, everything included! Also, you can pay by credit card.

Plaza Simón Bolívar, a historic square in Panama City's Casco Viejo, is a charming spot filled with cafes and restaurants. Renamed in 1883 to honor the independence hero Simon Bolivar, it offers a bohemian nightlife with live music and dancing at venues like La Casona and Relic Bar. The plaza is surrounded by historic buildings and outdoor restaurants, making it an ideal place for people-watching.
Beautiful town square with statue of Simon Bolivar, the unifier of Latin America: surrounded by colonial buildings including the Teatro Nacional.

I heard a lot about it but I think the media gave us a different perspective of the Bolivar. The worst thing about it is the neighbourhood behind it which was flooded with water during this time raining condition. There are several restaurants but very expensive too

Seafood market
The Mercado de Mariscos (Seafood Market) is a unique restaurant in Panama City where you can order fresh seafood directly from the fishermen. The market itself has a bustling food scene with many restaurants, but the best experience is to head to the indoor market and order ceviche and fish cooked on the spot.
The fish market was such an interesting experience—seeing the day’s fresh catch and then enjoying a delicious meal right there was a highlight. There are plenty of food options and while the servers can be a bit pushy, they’re respectful if you politely decline. The fresh ceviche was amazing! Definitely a cool and memorable part of our trip.

The food was amazing at the market, but please be aware that there are local vendors that will disturb your meal to sell you things. Upon arrival, all restaurant servers will be trying to encourage you to eat at their restaurant. Overall, I give it a four star only because of that, but we really enjoyed the food and we’re also able to get a free drink and ceviche to try!

Restaurante Casablanca offers a delightful dining experience with amazing food and exceptional service. The filet mignon, accompanied by a delectable sauce, bacon, mushrooms, and asparagus, was particularly outstanding. Guests staying in the vicinity were treated to complimentary alcoholic drinks and juices. While some found the hosts less friendly during late hours, the staff including Valentina, Gabriel, and Tamara were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable.
I’m so glad I came across this restaurant on my last day in Panama City. It’s hands down the best place I’ve tried here so far! The prices are reasonable, and both the food and drinks are top-notch. If you’re visiting Panama City, make sure to eat here at least once—you won’t regret it!

This was my first time in Panama, and this was by far one of the best places I visited while I was here. The atmosphere was inviting and unique. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The food was absolutely phenomenal from the start. The appetizers, the main meal, and the desserts were all mouth-wateringly delicious and well thought out. Along with the cocktails, which were well balanced and extremely satisfying from the first sip to the last. I give this place a 10 out of 10 and encourage anyone who visits Panama to make this one of the places you stop and visit while you are here.

Great Location and atmosphere in the heart of Casco Viejo in front of Plaza Bolivar. The restaurant and hotel is a meticulously preserved historic building with charm and friendly staff. The restaurant / bar is well appointed with a flavorful menu - although I was not too thrilled with my seafood linguini, we still had a good time. The T-Bone steak was a nice surprise.

Restaurante Casablanca in Panama is a gem for craft cocktails and great ambiance. The drinks are not only delicious but beautifully presented—from refreshing herb-infused spritzes to a fun skull-shaped surprise! 🍸💀 The bar is vibrant and well-stocked, and the attention to detail really stands out. A perfect stop for a stylish evening in the city.

Fast food restaurant
Carl's Jr. is a popular fast-food chain renowned for its extensive selection of towering burgers and combo meals, along with delectable milkshakes. The restaurant is known for serving generous portions of delicious patties that set it apart from typical franchise hamburgers. Their French fries are also highly enjoyable. Although the jalapeno burger can sometimes be overly moist, the spiciness adds to its overall appeal.
This is third time visiting. I like to eat hamburgers here. Not like a franchise hamburger, the amount is plenty and the patty is delicious. French fries are also delicious. The jalapenos burger was a little watery, so it was uncomfortable to eat, but it was still good to eat spicy.

Great location to view the skyline of Panama City. The ambiance can be very romantic. The hamburger was really good. The fish of the day was corvina and had nice flavor. The drinks were made very well. If you are looking to find a place with a view, this is the place to be.

This is a great place to eat the only bad thing I have to say about it is the slow service and we were the only table, but it’s well located at the “casco histórico” food and drinks were delicious, I just don’t recommend the Tiramisu I didn’t even felt the coffee or the cacao flavors. Day 2

Proximity is everything
For day 2, we bundled attractions like Miraflores Visitor's Center and Miraflores Locks and other places within a close range, so that the time it takes to travel between all of them is less than one hour. Combined with the average time people spend there, your day should take about 7 hours.

Miraflores Visitor's Center

Visitor center
The Miraflores Visitor's Center is a must-visit attraction near the Panama Canal, offering a fascinating experience for visitors. It features informative museum displays showcasing the history of the canal and provides an opportunity to witness ships passing through the locks from observation decks. Situated close to popular tourist spots like Casco Antiguo and the Causeway, it also boasts being in proximity to one of the world's largest malls.
You’d think that this is just a tourist trap, but it was actually incredible. Definitely stop by if you are in Panama City! The IMAX movie did not disappoint and seeing some ships come in was the cherry on top of a great experience. I would recommend getting tickets online so you don’t have to wait in the line.
Janice E — Google review
The movie tells the Canals history and “how Americans are good” lol. Just do not seat in first row! It’s a great engineering build but it needs more information about how the visit works, like vessels chart or any important information.
Pedro S — Google review
I hope that the present day two-story platform and its observation deck are just temporary, until the renovations to the five-story building next door are done. A call to The visitors Center did not clarify any doubts as the representative told me that this new observation deck may continue as a permanent replacement. The website does not clarify any details either. This is bad news as the building next door had an observation deck on the top floor. That view was fantastic. However this new two-story platform is a big step down as it lacks a roof to protect you from the Sun and rain. On top of that the staircase is too narrow causing foot traffic bottlenecks by the people congregating there. You will have to fight for a good view of the ships passing by especially when there are large crowds. Man what a disappointment from what is to be a great experience. I did not visit the theater this time around but I do recall having a good experience previously. The staff is well trained and helpful. Parking lot is spacious. This is the most famous canal in the world. So not surprisingly it is the country's most popular tourist attraction. So despite the disappointing platform this place remains a must-see for everyone
Panama G — Google review
Amazing experience at the center. I would recommend to go from 3:30-4pm onwards as it was very packed when we came. At 5pm we were almost alone and there were many boats passing by. We loved the speakers commenting on the boat passing.
Joanie — Google review
We visited the Miraflores Visitor Center and had a great experience! We bought the basic tickets online ahead of time for $17, which were valid for the whole day (no time slot needed). That got us access to the observation deck and the IMAX screening — both worth it, and we were there for under two hours total. So glad we purchased tickets in advance because when we arrived right at 8 a.m. there was already a line for people buying on-site, but we got to walk right in. We went straight to the observation deck and got to see two ships moving through the locks — such a cool experience! Definitely recommend going early for the best viewing and smaller crowds.
Cara H — Google review
MUST see …. Close to Panama City center. Worth the 2 hours. Very informative. And pretty inspiring. Aside from physically watching a ship pass thru the locks, there is an excellent 30-minute movie detailing the construction and use of the Panama Canal in 3D. The facility is wheelchair accessible. Although many people, the crowd is manageable.
Bryan S — Google review
I wish I would have known the times of the boats passing through. We missed the morning boats coming from the Pacific. And we would have had to wait 3 more hours to see the first boat coming the other way. I will have to come back another day.
Om D — Google review
Very crowded at 2-4pm. The viewing platform is too small and poorly designed, so it's difficult to see the channel well. All money seems to have been spent on the 3D movie with massive theater instead. The lock on the Atlantic side gives much nicer experience.

Historical landmark
One of the most famous attractions in Panama is the Miraflores Locks, part of the Panama Canal. This engineering marvel opened in 1913 and has had a significant impact on global commerce and weather patterns. The locks use gravity to move ships between the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, with 14,000 ships passing through annually. Visitors can witness this impressive feat at the Miraflores Visitor Center, where they can observe ships being raised or lowered as water levels are adjusted.
What a cool experience! It was so interesting and fun to visit this amazing and unique project! We enjoyed watching the passing through of server ships and the IMAX movie about the canal was great and very educational! We loved it!
Viktoriya A — Google review
The canal is the pride of our country and this display does some justice to the engineering masterpiece that the canal truly is. The video presentation with Morgan Freeman is very educational as well as uplifting about the nation as a whole. The viewing center is also very nice you can see ships passing thorough this older lock and see massive vessels up very close. For little ones there is a nice covered playground to keep them from getting too restless.

Amazing place and story. Brilliant IMAX documentary movie. Time your visit such that you can watch the Morgan Freeman narrated movie at around 1, so you can see a ship passing through at around 2-4 (typical hour).
Tarun Y — Google review
Loved my visit. Beware that most ships pass earlier in the morning or around 2pm in the afternoon. If you arrive around noon (like I did last, you'll have to wait a bit). There is a movie narrated by Morgan Freeman and is a must-watch. It teaches you all about the history of the Panama Canal. There are also plenty of food options, I got popcorn for the movie ($3), and an iced coffee. They were both really good. I would give it 5 stars if I could have found better information of ship passage timings. I searched their website and couldn't find anything about it.
Stephanie S — Google review
Very interesting, depends on time you are there. Many ships passing through at certain times. IMAX is good but could be a bit better. The Miraflores is on the old canal but still very busy. You can also see huge ships going to the new canal but from distance. I would expect a museum with all principal explanation but there is none. It is very money focused there.
Jan M — Google review
Awesome experience. Impressed by the pilot boats thst guided our ship. Amazing how the locks work.
Luci H — Google review
Well worth a visit! Very interesting to see the locks in action. The IMAX movie is also very good. Have a look at the schedule for the lock, or you might not see any ships.
Kai S — Google review
Traveling through the Panama canal is something one must experience. I loved the beautiful landscapes and the experience of traveling through the locks is definitely one to put on bucket list

Shopping mall
Shopping
Centro Comercial El Dorado is a no-frills mall that offers a variety of stores for electronics, phone accessories, and souvenirs. It has undergone several renovations and now features small shops, a department store, supermarkets, cinemas, and even a bowling alley. Located near Panama City's newer Chinatowns, it also boasts restaurants and shops. The mall is known for its competitive prices on cell phones and accessories.
Sometime ago I made a review to this place and it was average, but with the new image and improvements, the mall has become excellent. They host events that promote culture as well and I liked it. Besides the stores offer good stuffs and the service has improved quite a bit. The chance is doing great so far. Keep it up!!
Yesenia Q — Google review
My first time at this event. And it was an experience full of food, fun, and familiy .
David G — Google review
This is the place for the best prices in cell phones and accessories. So many stores competing with each other. The second floor is half empty and looks to specialize in hair salons. The third floor is a movie theater. The sub level is a food court along with post office. Even after construction to evolve, it still cannot compete with the newer malls in terms of quantity. However, this place has a few advantages over them. There is a store that duplicates specialized car keys, a post office, two casinos outside, two supermarkets and cell phone stores with talented technicians. They did amazing work on my phone. But the main advantage it has is its location in a historically busy area. Unlike other malls situated in secluded areas, this one is surrounded by plazas and businesses within walking distance. Right outside you will find top bakeries, casinos, specialty stores, and restaurants that have made this area legendary. The mall is located in the area referred to as the second Chinatown as evidenced by Asian establishments outside, especially in the rear areas of the mall.
Panama G — Google review
Decent mall with a lot of cell phone shops.
Jason B — Google review
It's definitely improved after renovations, but pretty much every other store is a cheap electronics store
Enrique B — Google review
You can find a relaxed place to get drinks, check gadgets, or get a book. The food court is good, not expensive, or fancy.
Moose K — Google review
This is a good mall for the following: - cheap electronics (cellphones and tablets) - cheap, quick electronics repair - craft stores (2) - fabric (3+) - nerd/geek shirts - clothes from stores not found in more popular malls - chinese grocery stores - Panama souvenirs (Centro Oriental, Gran Morrison, Saks) I'd describe as a no frills atmosphere. Real Panamanian families here doing their shopping. I don't rate it higher because you have to pay for parking (1hr free) and traffic around the area is always very congested. But i go there frequently and enjoy it.
Dori T — Google review
Great place to go if you need anything cell phone. Also a good place to take electronics for repairs. I also noticed a few Chinese grocery places in there. I had to ask for help finding a location and the security guards were friendly and helpful.

Fast food restaurant
Taco Bell | El Dorado is a popular fast-food spot known for its Mexican-inspired menu featuring tacos, quesadillas, and nachos. While some customers praise the good food at affordable prices, others have noted that the service can be slow at times.
Typical taco bell, good food (in my opinion) at a great price. Service was slow, so I'll take away one star
Eduardo G — Google review
They take WAYYY too long to take your order and way longer to give you the food. The place is always filthy and messy. Do not recommend it
Kadmus — Google review
Filthy location. Horrible customer service. The food made me sick. Avoid at all costs.
Rarity P — Google review
Bad experience. Terrible customer service. Unless you know exactly what you are taking, or you have no other options for better franchises, you shouldn’t go there. Personnel is not high qualified to fulfill customers basic needs. You may find them away for minutes chatting, no one asks you if you want to order unless you do. The first time I went there, they took too long to get ready a simple order, they did not give me what I asked, it costed me double the price because I was not informed that the very same menu was cheaper if you just say you wanted to include the soda as well, which in my opinion makes no sense, and I should at least have the knowledge of it. personnel is rude, and won’t care if you are standing waiting as if it wasn’t their job. If you ask for supreme French fries there is still the chance you will get too little French fries, but complaining is not going to take you anywhere.
A P — Google review
Fast food restaurant with very slow service. The food is ok, nothing different from other Taco Bell but customer service is terrible. Almost 20 minutes to take our order and every single order was taken with errors. It seems customers knew better the menu options than the personnel. First time on this restaurant and will be the last with so many good options around El Dorado.
Milton S — Google review
Horrible customer service. Worker refused to fill soda from behind the counter even both soda machine was broken. Ordered steak burrito recieved grounded beef when i clearly said steak burrito. Asked the workers about this issue they said the menu has changed and steak is more $. ???? Either they messed my order and won't admit it or they are in process of changing their brand to Taco Loco.
Wei S — Google review
Love taco bell, but taco bell drive through in Panama is awful, the microphone has never worked and they only have one window so you order where you pay, it's ok if its empty but if there is more than one car in the line stay away as you will be there forever.
Russell B — Google review
Service is horrible. Dont like to generalize but panaminians in general seem to not be very friendly to tourists. Bad experience, beautiful city.

Food court
La Plaza Ciudad del Saber offers a diverse range of dining options, catering to all tastes and dietary preferences. With its open-air setting, patrons can enjoy a delightful atmosphere while indulging in delicious meals. The food court has an offbeat charm and is particularly notable for its impressive selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. Additionally, it provides small play areas and both indoor and outdoor seating arrangements for added convenience.
Off the beaten path but really good selection of food even vegetarian, and vegan. Not to mention, it is small play areas and outdoor/indoor seating.

I recently checked out this plaza, and it's a really solid spot! It's got pretty much everything you could want for a quick stop or even a leisurely afternoon. There are a few restaurants if you're looking for a meal, a cool bookstore to browse, and a cozy coffee shop for your caffeine fix. Plus, there's a health store and even a mini-market for any essentials or snacks you might need. One of the best things is the parking – plenty of spots both underneath and on the side, which is super convenient. And no need to worry about the weather, because it's all covered, so you're good to go even if it rains. They even have TVs. It's definitely a go-to if you're ever in the area and need a quick bite or just a nice place to chill.

This is a great place to go to exercise or walk outside. The Plaza is an outdoor food court with lots of great options to eat. There are many non profits that have offices here. Florida State University has an extension campus here also. One of the photos I'm posting is near the FSU campus and the other is from a recycling center located here.

Restaurant
Restaurante Makoto is a trendy rooftop Japanese restaurant located in Panama City. Owned by Chef Makoto Okuwa, who trained under sushi master Makoto Kumazaki, the restaurant offers a creative twist on traditional Edomae-Sushi dishes. The menu features innovative recipes like toro tartare, wagyu filet, and hay smoked albacore.
Easily the best dining experience I’ve had—simply EPIC. The ambience was warm and inviting (9/10), and the service was flawless (10/10). The appetizers, featuring grilled octopus and wagyu wontons, were both outstanding (10/10). Our entrées—branzino and skirt steak—were perfectly executed (10/10), and the desserts continued the high standard (10/10). Cocktail options were diverse and well-crafted (9/10), and the servers’ knowledge of the menu was exceptional (10/10). Highly recommend for anyone seeking an unforgettable dining experience.

Only speaking about the sashimi and sushi platters for 50 USD. Best sushi placec in Panama. A very business, classy place. I came during the weekend. Amazing experience, some of the best sushi I've had (coming from Toronto and Vancouver). Very fresh and flavour packed. I think I liked the sashimi better for taste but the nigiri fills you up more (it comes with a salmon roll too). Expensive but worth trying if you like high quality sushi.
Jeff C — Google review
What a delicious experience, dining at Makoto. It's perfect for a romantic dinner date. We tried a variety of dishes, and will soon return for more! We ordered the truffle salmon, rainbow roll maki, the spicy yellowtail with japaleno maki, the yellowtail and oh-toro nigiris, and the shortrib yaki noodles. All the dishes were insane, the fish felt fresh and the cuts were perfect, and the shortrib noodles incredily flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the baked alaska, which was good, and the petit gateau, which blew us away - the dulce de leche filling was sweet but not overwhelming, and the flavors played wonderfully together. The service was also lovely, friendly and knowledgeable.

We sat on the patio with a great view of the city, and the atmosphere was really relaxing. The sushi was fresh and tasted amazing—definitely a place we’d come back to.
Katherine J — Google review
Best sushi and seafood I have had. Great views of the city from the outdoor seating. Good collection of Japanese sake and wine.
Shiv S — Google review
Makoto was fantastic! We celebrated my fiancé’s birthday here after receiving a recommendation from a fellow traveler. It was well worth it! The views were amazing especially at night the sky line was truly breathtaking. The food was really tasty as well, the drinks and atmosphere were well curated. The price was a bit dear, as I expected the food to taste just a little bit better. If you go the rock shrimp was a must have.
Bryan U — Google review
Had a fantastic time at Makoto, the staff is very welcoming and the food is amazing. I especially recommend the spicy edamame and for dessert the chocolate mousse.
Sarah — Google review
The restaurant, food, service and atmosphere are special and beautiful. A spectacular experience!! If you are looking for traditional sashimi and sushi in Panamá, this is the place—no other. The management team are some of the finest in the region, and they will work together with you to create a unique, memorable happening. Makoto is a magical discovery. Salmon sashimi, beef robata , hamachi nigiri and crispy Brussels sprouts are only a few of their items that may be described as the finest in the area. Sit at the sushi bar for a fun show with experienced chefs, or a table in the lounge or outside on the 11th floor patio. The chu-toro, ikura, shima aji and tamago are all top notch. Sake and beer were frigid cold and they have a special wine cellar, too. This is too good to be true. Heavenly! If you enjoy excellent Japanese food and drink in an amazing atmosphere, you will not be disappointed. The service, kitchen staff, cooks and chefs are exceptional. Highly, highly, highly recommended.
