Amazing displays and well layed out. Nice areas to sit and rest or spend time infront of large glass aquariums. Some touch displays and steps for the little ones to have a better view.

The waterfront is so beautiful to behold. It has so many shops with a variety of different items to purchase and there is a wide range of eateries to pick from. There various boats of all shapes and sizes on the port. I was able to enjoy a sunset cruise from a boat company that offer them on the waterfront. The hop and off tour company also offer a sunset cruise in one of their packages.

What a great use of an old part/wharf area. There is so much there to enjoy. Did a 30min boat trip around harbour which was excellent incl seeing the seals up close. Will be heading back tomorrow for some shopping.

A great vibe place in Cape Town located on the waterfront. There is a lot to do including an art gallery, aquarium, live music and dance performances, a swing style bridge, a large shopping centre and a range of souvenir shops and restaurants including a budget friendly food court. There is a supermarket on the basement level of the shopping centre. Be sure to check out the Cape Town Frame, clocktower and the seal landing areas.

What a cool experience on the Cape Town waterfront. Wonderful views of Table Mountain, the waterfront and all different views. Minimal wait, Sunday afternoon in winter, and you go 4-5 times around The Cape Wheel. We did the Cape Wheel with the Double-decker bus package, well worth the extra money.

Even if you buy a ticket online you still have to go to the ticket booth to get a printed ticket. The ride is about 10 minutes, or 4 rotations. You get great views of the area.

One of the best places I’ve ever visited! As a sea and fish lover..it felt like a dream.. I spent almost three hours enjoying every detail.. The jellyfish room is so artistic and beautiful! Staff are very friendly..I visited twice — the first time was much better..since the second visit was too crowded with school trips..My advice: avoid peak hours for the best experience…

This was a choice because of the bad weather, but then we realized this must be a key highlight of Cape Town when you visit the city. It's a real blast! Super recommended!!! Everything is so clean and well maintained - kudos to the workers and the management. You can find almost every species of what belongs to the sea.

We've learned a lot about marine life, discovering new species I didn't know existed, endangered species, warm and cold water species. This is the best largest aquarium I've been to. World class standard, perfectly laid out, there's pause areas, coffee stations and ablutions. Definitely coming back here with my family!

Really wonderful to see the sea creatures in somewhat of their natural habitat. It is great for kids and took us about 2 hours to go through everything (without the feeding). Great variety and the big aquariums are just memorizing to sit and watch. If you need to unwind from this busy and crazy world this is an absolutely tranquil experience. The sharks and sea turtles are worth it on their own

They have a large variety of sea species, some that I haven't seen elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and proactive. They also have a behind the scenes experience that we missed. Needed 2+hours to move around. The kids also enjoyed it

Visited the Muizenberg Beach for the colorful huts and loved every moment of it!!! Brightly painted beach huts: These iconic, colorful huts are a distinctive feature of the beach and a popular photo spot. Surfers' Corner: Muizenberg is considered the main surfing spot in Cape Town, especially known for its gentle, rolling waves, making it ideal for beginners. Several surf schools and surf shops are located in the area. Warmer waters: The waters at Muizenberg Beach are generally warmer than those on the Atlantic Seaboard, making it a pleasant swimming spot. Blue Flag status: The beach has been awarded Blue Flag status since 2008, signifying its high standards for safety, recreational facilities, and environmental management.

That is probably one of the most well known spot in South Africa with pictures being featured in many travel/airlines magazines over the late decades. Must visit. If you're an avgeek, you might be lucky to spot an aircraft approaching CPT airport, here 744 BA which I coincidently landed with at the time.

Muizenberg Beach is one of my absolute favorite spots in Cape Town! The long stretch of soft sand and gentle waves make it perfect for swimming, surfing, or just relaxing by the water. It has a really fun, laid-back vibe — great for families, beginners learning to surf, or anyone looking to enjoy a classic beach day. The colorful beach huts give it so much character, and there are plenty of cafés and surf shops nearby, so it’s easy to grab a coffee or a bite after your swim. The beach is well-kept and the lifeguards make it feel safe. Parking can get busy on weekends, but it’s totally worth it for the atmosphere and views. A must-visit when you’re in Cape Town!

The beach ⛱️ so cool 😎 and very nice. The tide is lower so people can swim 🏊‍♂️ even more inside the sea. The colorful small houses 🏘 😍 ✨️ are amazing, but people are spoiling the wood. Needs to be taken care of and more maintains with proper management. The visitors are messing and making dirty the beach. Littering everywhere and not willing to throw the waste in the bins 😠😡. If not, take care of this beach will go worse very soon.

Great restaurant with good ambiance. The restaurant is located in a big shopping mall and is near the big Cape Town wheel for having a scenic experience on the wheel. The shopping mall itself has all types of brand shops and shops for local handicrafts. The dining area is quite bid and is well furnished with taste. I visited the restaurant at dinner town and ordered a beef Steak. Food was very good and the service was very efficient. Presentation of the food was good.

I really enjoyed my first-ever restaurant visit to Tashas in Cape Town yesterday! It was recommended by concierge at my hotel, when I asked for a nice place to sit down and eat, and within walking distance. Considering I had just arrived from a 14-hour flight the night before, I was still a little out of sorts. The young male server with glasses, whose name I, unfortunately, didn’t remember but should’ve written down, was incredibly welcoming and friendly. I know most servers try to be pleasant for the sake of a tip, but he genuinely seemed delighted I was there as a first-time visitor. He even gave me a quick rundown of his language, teaching me how to say “hello,” “how are you,” and “my name is,” which I gladly jotted down. He approved my choice of the turmeric shot and assured me it would awaken my senses, then recommended the elderberry smoothie—both of which gave me the boost I needed. I later ordered the Goddess Salad and was all set. In my travel-fogged state, I accidentally walked out thinking I had already paid. He had handed me the receipt first with the printed amount and tip line, which I filled out without realizing I hadn’t actually paid yet. Normally, servers bring a portable card reader to scan your method of payment. It didn’t register until I stepped outside and he, along with a manager, approached me. As a medical clinician, I’m certainly not a thief, though I’m sure that’s exactly what it looked like in the moment, something I’ve chuckled about ever since. Overall, it was a chic and posh experience on a dime, with excellent service and, for me, a little embarrassment at the end. Still, I would highly recommend Tashas to anyone looking for great music paired with excellent food.

Wow, we truly enjoyed the Flora and Fauna menus, we had to have one of each between us so we could try everything. Our server Alan was amazing and we had an unforgettable experience getting to know him and his passion. The wine pairings were out of this world, all local wines. The restaurant also gave us a lovely surprise.

On our journey throughout our African vacation this restaurant still stands out as the best place that we had dinner in three weeks. It was beyond exceptional. We tried both à la carte and also the Flora and Fana. Wow. I cannot say enough amazing things about this restaurant. For anyone that lives near this hotel and is able to go to Terrarium regularly, we are jealous. If you have not been, you have to go. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Full score!! Impeccable food and good service at very reasonable prices. What a find! Chef Erasmus came out to explain some of his small plate masterpieces which really didn’t need much explaining because the taste of each and every dish did all the explaining. Honestly one of the best lunches I’ve had in a while. The standout dishes were the beets with fennel, tom yum yellowtail ceviche, tomato tartare and melt in your mouth brisket with creamy mash. Five plates were sufficient to share between two people, but in hindsight most plates were too good to share! I can’t wait to try the evening fixed menu.

We had the most amazing experience here at Terrarium. We had the fauna tasting and pairing menu which was also exceptionally adapted to suit my mum’s needs (no dairy, eggs or wheat). Got this recommendation from a chef who's food I love. It's in the Queen Victoria Hotel and they seemed a bit chaotic when we got there. That said, it was definitely the best meal I've had on the continent of Africa so far. Every single course was amazing. Attention to detail. Great waiter (Alan) and support staff, imaginative, beautifully plated, a meal that anywhere else would have been $100-$200 pp. Stand out was the cold Tom Yom Gai Ceviche. A beautiful location with a lovely view of the mountain and boats, the drinks were well made and the service was fine as the place was busy. I was, however not a fan of the food, it looked good but didn't taste as good, the place is also quite. pricey, but it has good vibes.

Very nice service, sat outside by the wharf. Ordered a few starters and some drinks. The mussels were fresh & delightful. The tempura prawns were so so. Prawns are tiny, bland and greasy. My mocktail, Berry Blaze was delicious. Pricing was fare.

In this economy, these mussels are the only thing worth believing in. I don’t know if this place has ever entered any culinary competitions, but if there’s a global league for mussels, they need to be disqualified for unfair advantage. I consider myself something of a mussel connoisseur, a title I bestowed upon myself after years of rigorous, unsupervised research, and I can confidently say these are the best I’ve ever had. They were so fresh I briefly wondered if they had been plucked straight from Poseidon’s bathtub. The sauce? I have no idea what it is. Possibly a controlled substance. I’d drink it by the litre. Frankly, if I have to die someday, I hope it’s by drowning in that sauce. Five stars, one near-religious experience, and the loss of all self-respect for licking the bowl.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Den Anker as part of our visit to Cape Town. The food was delicious, the service friendly and attentive (thank you, Quinton!), and a very upbeat positive vibe to the space. We shared the lobster croquettes as a starter and then moved onto the Pork Belly for my partner and Bobotie for me. Both we excellent. Portions are generous enough we didn't have room for dessert. At a restaurant notable for serving Belgian beer, the choice was obvious. My partner had Duvel, and I had a bottle of Cherry Chouffe. I would suggest making a reservation to avoid missing out. For some reason I have been following this place on Instagram for years - maybe 5. I don’t know why I followed (and follow it). Never had been to Cape Town till earlier this week and voila like any tourist landed at the V&A Waterfront and Den Anker stares at you as the first thing. Couldn’t believe my luck. We were three of us, had a drink each. Great service.

A cozy and elegant restaurant with a beautiful harbor view. The food was good and the service was truly excellent. I especially loved their traditional tequila , definitely a highlight of the evening.

It is a high-end fine dining establishment, where the food is an art form. The tasting menu features small, precise portions with complex and delicate flavors. The use of custom ceramic plates shaped like corals and shells suggests a focus on natural textures, while the spectacular service completes the unique experience with spectacular views of the waterfront.

If you want a Michelin grade, top 50 restaurants in the world, head to the Pier, top level, you will never regret it. You will get a chef menu (also vegetarian) that is competing with the best Michelin in Europe and beyond. Highly recommended ! And the price compared to London and New York is absolutely an regular restaurant everywhere else!

​As the first mall I visited on my vacation in South Africa, Canal Walk set an incredibly high standard. The selection of shops is fantastic, with well-stocked stores for everything from clothing to home essentials. I was impressed by the fair pricing, finding great value across the board. The beautiful food court offers a wonderful variety of tastes in a lively atmosphere. For a complete and enjoyable shopping experience, I highly recommend it.

Love shopping here, parking is convenient and plenty of parking, huge selections on specialty items and so many options to shop for deals. I shopped for the entire family, and even found a child size 4 rugby boot on sale at Tekkie Town, and then relaxed at Mugg & Bean for hours having one of their favorite soups.

I visit this place to see “Landscape of the Soul” by Anton Smith. This juxta position of 500 masks, protruding from a 33 metre long wall, three metres high, is an impressive sight to behold in its entirety. But as you step closer, you see that every face is fragmented. Peaceful route for walk. River is surrounded by beautiful parks and flowers.

If you visit Cape Town, take note of how well this city is managed. The rest of our beautiful country is falling apart while this city is flourishing. Absolutely lovely.

Visited Canal Walk Shopping Centre recently and it's a mixed bag. On the one hand, it's a massive mall with a great variety of shops, making it a shopper's paradise. The facilities are well-maintained and it's nice to spend a day browsing and shopping. However, be warned: it gets CRAZY busy, especially on month-ends, Friday nights, and Saturday nights. The crowds can be overwhelming, and the food queues are RIDICULOUS! We waited over 30 minutes at McDonald's, and the food was just okay. And don't even get me started on KFC - the food was chewy and not worth the wait. If you're looking for a chill shopping experience, avoid Canal Walk on busy days. But if you're prepared for the chaos, it's definitely worth a visit. Just plan ahead, arrive early, and be prepared for the crowds! Rating: 3/5 stars

The Old Biscuit Mill definitely has a unique and vibrant vibe — lots of shops, galleries, and food stalls, all packed with character and local creativity. The fresh coconut I tried was tasty and refreshing, perfect for a hot day! However, the market could really benefit from better cleanliness and organization. The layout feels a bit chaotic, with little direction or signage, making it easy to get lost. Some of the food stalls also seemed to operate in less-than-food-safe conditions, which was disappointing considering the overall reputation of the place. Still, it’s worth visiting for the atmosphere and local experience — just go with an open mind and low expectations on hygiene and structure.

Lots to see and do here, variety of shops, eateries, coffee shops, dining areas. Not too touristy, although you can get gifts from here as we did. We spent an afternoon in here shopping, my wife bought some gifts, and we ended up dining here which was relaxing And enjoyable.

Very good spot to buy some local work - clothes, craftsman work, paintings and more. It’s not the cheapest place and it does close early in the day (as most things in Cape Town). However, you can find quality products so it could be worth the visit.

The Neighbourgoods Market located at The Old Biscuit Mill is a fun day out for people who want to meet up with friends for some food and drinks, listen to an artist perform, and buy some home made goods, fresh produce, etc. There are many different stalls with food options catering to most dietary preferences. The market is also dog friendly, as long as your dog is well behaved. There isn’t any parking on the premises, so you have to find a spot to park outside on the street or in one of the side roads, but there are usually parking attendants showing you where you can park.

Our small group, enjoyed a leisurely stroll through the galleries. The organization was impeccable, with curated musicians & dance shows. It was a a fantastic Heritage day, where by free entry was granted for all South Africans. There was also an affordable food market just outside. The Art was full of tales & offered a cultural understanding. The lighting in he different galleries was very interesting and your eyes eventually adapt. The crowd was not to thick, it flowed well and was not to overwhelming, however I believe the air control was not working correctly, as it became hot & stuffy in areas, all in all a well worth day spent celebrating the rich cultural diversity and unity together enriched in creative art & history. Thanks Zietz it was a delightful experience

The Zeitz Museum is an amazing experience on two levels. To begin, the museum’s six different exhibits are fascinating and they opened my mind to perspectives and aspects of art/history that I had never contemplated before. For example, the special exhibit focused on the generational trauma caused from French serving Senegalese fighting in Vietnam during the 1940-50s and the consequences that had upon families and cultures, a truly fascinating moment that I had never even considered in that context. Eye opening. The second aspect of the museum that boggles the mind and fills the soul with wonder is the museum itself. The Zeitz is truly an awe inspiring structure; the coolest museum I visited during my time in Cape Town.

Pity about the posh restaurant at the top great view and should be booked out ... shocking service from the kitchen, the waitress was lovely and we understood it was not her fault... Can't say we would go back for anything other than the view... Something the kitchen can't control!

Spacious viewing halls, clean simple signage, a leveled variety of exhibitions. The entrance foyer is something engineers and architecture students will truly love! The conversion of a grain silo into a museum is quite a phenomenal achievement. The actual quality of art on display varies though. Some installations are modern and superb and others you can see are just fillers so you are not walking through empty halls. Best to visit during the day, tire yourself, build and appetite and go for lunch at the neighboring restaurants.

I mean The building is really impressive and looks really cool from the inside, and the art was cool too, sure. But that art museum cost over two times More compared to other art museum in Cape-Town. I was expecting more for that price. Honestly I would recommend going to the national art gallery instead (it's in Gardens), about same amount of art to see and only costs about 80rand

We were super excited to try out Le Pickle with the uptake of so many smash burgers in Cape Town. Unfortunately, the burger was quite greasy and the chips had the best texture but no flavour. BUT I will say that the brands vibe & store is epic and it’s situated in a great location which could make for some great memories. They also serve alcohol.

The mall it self is very inviting and clean. Also the security was so helpful and eager to assist. I visited the mall on the 27th August. I had a bad experience with spar baked cheese cake and miltart slices. Definitely don't purchase those items. It was dry, probably old and I chocked on it. I had to throw it away. I tossed the slip because my expectations was a good slice of cake I guess. It looked to good definitely not worth R50 and R45 a slice.

A wonderful top-class self-catering resort with all the amenities you can ask for. It is neat, clean, and well looked after. The hot water springs are lovely, especially in Winter. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I a great experience there.

This village/mall is quite nice. It seemingly has everything one needs without going oversized like a mall. Pharmacy, hardware, sporting equipment, grocery, housewares, etc. Disagree with the negative reviews here. Talk it slow and enjoy the variety, chill in the open space and enjoy the people watching. Lots of security about, which I suppose is good. As a tourist found this place inviting and the shopkeepers all friendly. Recommend and would return.

A worthy visit for both locals and visitors when next in Cape Town. Easy and accessible parking and roadside free after 13h00. The selection of shops, restaurants, and beautiful architecture make for great photographs with no buskers nor beggars allowing for leisurely strolls and a most enjoyable half day to see all.

Make sure you make a reservation in advance for The Pot Luck Club, we were only left with the 6pm slot availability. The beauty of arriving at this hour was that we can admire the view of table mountain and lion’s head in the sunset on one side and the port on the other. They are like tapas with fusion twist so you can get to try many plates. We ordered the Peruvian Ceviche, Penang Broccoli and Wild Mushrooms and they were all delicious. The plate that I was particularly impressed was Venison Tataki - a gastronomic piece that was vividly visual in red not for the fainted heart and bold on the tastebuds. The spring brook served with chicken liver pate go surprisingly well together. If you don’t like gamey taste this may not be for you.

From the first booking interaction all the way to the final bite of dessert, everything was an absolute pleasure. We enjoyed six main dishes and two desserts, and not a single plate missed the mark. Quite the opposite: some dishes stood out so much that they genuinely felt like a fusion of South African heritage and global influences, executed with such balance and creativity that we already know we’ll be back on our next visit. (Braii Broodtjie was our favorite) We also have to mention the Umami Sour, hands down one of the best cocktails we’ve had on this trip. We chose to sit at the bar right in front of the kitchen because we wanted to see real pros at work, and you didn’t disappoint. The focus, professionalism, and calm precision of the kitchen team were a joy to watch. They even took time to chat with us. This was the best meal I had in South Africa. Stunning views, really great atmosphere and location, and the staff were top class. All the dishes we had were so good and being able to see the kitchen staff working away was a great touch. The cocktails were also all really well made and unique! If I’m back in Cape Town I will 100% be visiting again! Highly recommend stopping by.

We had such a fantastic time at the Sunday Brunch special at The Pot Luck Club. The bottomless MCC and Bloody Marys were absolutely a cherry on top of a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The staff were not only friendly but also incredibly skilled, paying great attention to detail and creating a relaxed atmosphere where we could enjoy everything they had to offer while catching up with friends. The food was superb and beautifully presented, with the Eggs Benedict standing out as a highlight. The drinks kept coming, which added to the fun. I highly recommend checking out the Sunday Brunch. This place came highly recommended and it didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere was buzzing right from the doors opening, open kitchen, great service they really check all the boxes. Very cool place to have a dinner with your loved ones. Tapas type menu, that was brought to another level, not only by taste , but by presentation as well. All the servers are very pleasant, knowledgeable of vines and menu lists . Beautiful view of the town from a 6 th floor/ rooth top. I would upgrade tables and settings for so high level of cuisine and service. I, I forgot about cocktails!!!! Very high level of cocktails as well. Highly recommend to experience high end local cuisine !!!

I cannot fault this place at all. The atmosphere is eclectic and fun. The aromatics coming from the kitchen are divine. We tried the Goat Curry and the Butter chicken which were both an 11/10. Make sure to book, or you might miss out.

If you are a novice at fine dining this meal would've been fantastic. If however, like us you are well versed in fine dining this meal would've been less than expected. It looked stunning but the chef over-used chillies which in most dishes totally over-powered the other ingredients (even the palate cleanser had chillies in the soil. We did love the mango dessert, it was really good. Also we left there way poorer but still hungry so for us the meal was not worth the price (and we got it on the restaurant week special). The service was really good, and the view was lovely.

Beautiful setting on the harbor with elegant décor and warm, polished service. Unfortunately, we were asked to wait, even with an empty dining room, because we arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation. This felt unnecessarily rigid. Dinner was good but not memorable, with dishes emphasizing presentation over flavor. The wine was the clear standout. All in all, Julie and I had a very pleasant evening and a lovely meal.

Everything was phenomenal. I don’t even know what was the best dish, as almost all courses were among the best I’ve had. The furniture was great, and service was on point as well. Highly recommend. This would probably translate to a 1 michelin star restaurant, inching towards the second.

The service was good. Attentive waitress and sommelier is attentive and professional. The wine pairing was good. The food is good but I found the sour and spicy were overpowering for some dishes. Specially for the tuna. The lamb is gamy.

Even though the weather says otherwise, winter is soon coming to an end. How do I know? Because the winter specials wrap up at the end of August, bittersweet because I love the cozy hideaway but not the tourist rush. We decided to take advantage of the lunch special at R595 per person. A while back I went to Pier upstairs, so I was curious to try The Waterside’s vegetarian menu. Walking in from the icy wind, we were met with warmth, both the temperature and the smiles. Wine-lined walls, modern coastal elegance, sleek chairs, oak tables, and those big harbour views. It felt polished but not try-hard. I ordered bubbles (it was Women’s Month after all) and loved seeing a whole page of women-owned wines. My rosé MCC had a blush-gold hue and tasted as crisp and elegant as it looked. The vegetarian menu started with sweet potato, my favourite vegetable, but dressed up like it was headed for the Met Gala. A glossy tamarind sauce, curled ribbon garnish, edible flowers, all beautifully plated. It wasn’t just a looker, the sweet potato was soft and naturally sweet, the sauce gently spiced with curry notes, tangy tamarind sass, plus kimchi for heat and crunch. A touch more salt and it would’ve been perfect. Then came the palate cleanser: the cutest little cactus pot. Zesty lemon sorbet with a tequila-mezcal kick, crunchy chocolate-chilli “soil”, refreshing, grown-up, and genius. I’d happily drink it as a summer cocktail. Mains were gnocchi, golden potato pillows with a light crisp, salsa verde sauce, fresh broccoli and carrots, crispy garnish for seasoning. Vibrant colours like a spring garden on a plate. Comforting, zesty, salty, fresh, all in harmony. Honestly, vegetarians know what’s up; I had zero FOMO. And then dessert, maybe my favourite dessert ever. Minimalist but perfect plating: ruby-red rhubarb tart, creamy cheesecake swirl, dainty quenelle of ice cream. The tart was tangy, jammy, with a buttery buckwheat base. Paired with the decadent cheesecake swirl, it was pure magic. Love at first bite. The ice cream added a cool, not-too-sweet balance. Together? A modern rom-com love triangle that worked. Overall, The Waterside gave me an amazing afternoon: tranquil atmosphere, gorgeous views, and food that’s both beautiful and flavourful. Service was warm, welcoming, and polished. If you’re wondering whether the vegetarian menu is worth it, it absolutely is. Highly recommend. Till next time!

Had an excellent experience at waterside. The presentation of each course was spectacular. The food had good influence of western and Asian flavors. Service was also very pleasant and one point. I did not give five stars for food only because for certain courses, I think the chef tried too hard in terms of mixing flavor profiles. For example, there is no reason to add the bland scallops into an Asian spiced pork belly dish. The bland and soft scallops took away from the rich profile that the dish otherwise had. I did not select the chef's wine pairing because the selection did not look adequate for that price point. However they do have a good selection of wines by the glass. Everything was good except the Tawny, which was not aged enough to serve at a restaurant of this profile and price point.

A very authentic Portuguese restaurant that has been here forever. I think I visited it in 1988 for the first time. At that stage, it had already been an establishment. Good value, generous portions, and well-prepared food. Some surprisingly nice wines on an unpretentious menu. What you see is what you get… nothing over the top but always up to standard. The service can be a bit slow, especially on a Friday afternoon at lunchtime.

We hadn't been to Dias in a long time. We went to a concert at the Star Theatre nearby and had a quick dinner. Our group ordered grilled hake, Portuguese Prego, Hake Ala Dias (hake, calamari), Trinchado Generous portion sizes and we all enjoyed our meals. Waitresses were friendly and service was quick. We loved the Portuguese family vibe. We parked across the road.

Amazing good, we go here every time we’re in Cape Town, never had a bad meal. Nothing fancy but those are the best places. The garlic roll was incredible. Great service.

A truly beautiful garden! This place is a hidden gem.. The garden is filled with so many rare and incredibly beautiful flowers..as well as some stunning artistic statues.. It's the perfect spot for walking..relaxing..and just enjoying nature. The place is absolutely massive..so one day is definitely not enough to see it all..I'll definitely be back and next time inshallah I'll make sure to visit for at least two days to truly appreciate everything it has to offer.. The botanical gardens around South Africa are an invaluable showcase of local plant life, exhibiting extraordinary biodiversity. The Cape fynbos is the smallest of 6 floral kingdoms in the world, but the richest in unit of area. There are over 9000 species of plant in the Cape, with 6200 not to be found anywhere else in the world. Table mountain alone has more plant species than the whole of the UK. Kirstenbosch is a regular visitor and prize winner at the famous Chelsea flower show. Visiting these botanical gardens provides an opportunity to see the plants displayed there in their natural habitat, on the foot of Table mountain. It is a very beautiful, deeply relaxing place place to visit and spend time. You can take walks, have picnics or visit the classy Moyo restaurant. Highly recommended visit.

This place took our breath away! The gardens and the spectacular views are something you see in magazines. You choose what to do here, you can do the trails and see all the botanical garden has to offer or you can set up a blanket on the floor and have a relaxing picnic while you enjoy the breathtaking views. If I lived in Cape Town, I would have an annual membership because I would be coming not only to see and enjoy the garden but also to enjoy all the events they offer. Enjoyed my time at Kirstenbosch and would recommend getting off the Red Bus here for a walk around. The guided tour definitely elevated the experience, having people share anecdotes and educate you on the different plants! The tours are at 10am, 11am and 2pm. We got coffee from Vida to walk around with and had lunch on premises so it is easy to spend a few hours here.

Wynberg Park is a hidden gem! The facility is perfect for outdoor events, with simple yet lovely picnic and braai spots. The views are stunning! Highly recommend for bigger groups or just a chill day out. Will definitely be back!

Lovely park that is well maintained and family friendly. With multiple designated braai area and a play place for kids you can go on Lovely group walks and have great views. Alcohol is prohibited

So beautiful, also has benches and braai places available. No alcohol allowed which is even better.

We attended a small family gathering here and it was not bad at all. Lots of space, shade and nice views of the dam / pond and animals. Nice grassy areas, well kept and maintained but bathrooms needed some TLC but perhaps because it is open to the public, it is not in the best state. Quiet, private and we had a lovely Sunday afternoon spent with friends and family.

Located in a very central area along long street, the market is composed of easily around 30 stalls selling magnets, keyrings, traditional African clothes, handcrafts, caps, decorative items and bracelets among others. Large variety of stuffs sold at high prices that you should at least divide by 3 to obtain a fair price. However, sometimes you can get better prices without much bargain in Pan African Market ( a building found 100m away) or cheaper fixed prices in African Curiosity (V&A Waterfront). The market is active as from 9-10am till 5pm everyday, and amazingly as it might seem, they dismantle every stall at the end of the day and mount them again the next day, every single day.

A good number of souvenirs shops are located here from 0900-1700 everyday.. You have bargain at least 50%

Classic souvenirs are sold here. Prices should be negotiated. There are similar souvenirs sold at different stalls so be a little bit patient and walk through the square before buying at first stall you see.

Loads of options for African handicrafts big and small to take home as souvenirs. The options on fridge magnets was great there were no handcrafted or unique fridge magnet purchase options available as in Lesotho. The fridge magnets were also pricier than say Boulder beach SAN park gift shop. The vendors are pleasant and easy to talk to, and they don't hassle you into buying stuff. I mainly went to purchase a handcrafted ostrich egg, which was cheaper than the ones I saw in other gift shops.

Very good place to buy souvernirs and gift for South Africa Trip. Lots of stone sculptures, wooden sculptures, arts, etc. made by local artists. you may need to bargain a bit to get a good deal, but the price is good to support local people as well.

I love this iconic Cape Town Market. The crafts are mostly handmade by artisans. They sell clothing, handbags, jewellery drums, bowls, baskets, beautiful paintings of wildlife, and so much more. There are restaurants nearby for coffee, lunch, cocktails, wine, and much more delightful and delicous treatss. The cobble stone paving are hundreds of years old. The traders are friendly and wonderful to chat to, they come from places across Africa and have beautiful stories to share with you 😊

Gigi’s Rooftop is such a vibe! ✨ The ambience is fantastic—chic but relaxed, with the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay all night. The music, the lighting, the view… everything just works together perfectly. Drinks were on point, food delicious, and the service made it even better. Definitely one of those spots that feels special the moment you walk in.

I'm not even sure where to start, we popped here for a lovely lunch in the sun, the food was absolutely unreal, the decor absolutely amazing so modern and fresh! such a unique place with so much to give, it's an absolute VIBE! staff was so so lovely, friendly and welcoming. my better half and I was absolutely vibing, drinks/cocktails was so lovely, music great and the only one massive thing that ruined it was CHLOE, extremely rude, came over and rudley told us we are not allowed on the decking as there's a sign ( bare in mind we took loads photos and even a staff member took photos of us up there and did not say we wasint allowed there, others did too) Chloe rather than approaching us and explaining this like a human she barked at us and walked away while we tried to speak to her ( we was very shocked that some could act in this manner towards anyone never mind a paying customer!) she ruined our whole experience, we did mention this to two members of staff, I however nothing happened we got a sorry that was it. unfortunately people like Chloe should not work anywhere near people, the lack of customer service, empathy, no logic, no respect is absolutely disgusting, she needs a new job and fast before she barks at others! Other than that the place was fabulous 👌🏽 I hope the 2.5mil views I get on here really see Chloe for what she is ( not the first I've met)

Visiting from the US. This is my second time at Gigi’s. Whenever I visit Cape Town, Gigi’s is on my list. They always have great food and drinks. Staff is so nice and friendly. Brandon greeted me as soon as I walked in, and had me laughing the whole time. Ashley made us amazing cocktails. If ever he’s behind the bar, let him make you a custom drink. He’s a real mixologist. 🎉 Definitely my favorite spot when I visit. ❤️

Lovely roof top restaurant that shares the area with the hotel pool & sun deck. The restaurant is a covered deck & inside area. Very funky & eclectic decor. No street presence or advertising. Food was very tasty (risotto, pasta & flat bread). Not a long wait for delivery. Good range of drinks - beers, wines & cocktails. All fairly priced. Service was just ok - quickly shown to table, wait to place food/drink order, & a drink we ordered never arrived.

I absolutely love this spot! The staff are incredible and the decor and vibe are amazing. The food is great (Halaal friendly upon request) and their mocktails are truly something special. My only gripe what that service was quite slow. You wait quite a while after ordering to receive your beverage and especially your food. I hope they’re able to iron out that issue soon. All in all, I’m a fan and will be returning!

Went for birthday dinner and it was amazing, the atmosphere is to die for, nice music and perfect lighting. The service was great, shoutout to Tash for being so great, she explained the menu in detail and recommended some great dish, such a sweetheart. Experience was wholesome definitely coming back for cocktails ❤️

I love coming here for cocktails and tapas - they have a wide variety of tasty options. They're a bit on the pricey side but the unique setting/decor and amazing atmosphere make it worth the visit - especially for a date night!

I don’t know what happened in the kitchen on that day, but I unfortunately won’t be visiting again. I’m wildly suprised by all the great reviews and stars, as that’s why we chose Haiku as our restaurant of choice. - made a reservation with a staff member, when we arrived no one was informed. But this was not even a problem because it was quiet, so we got seated easily. - lighting is so dark. It feels like 11pm in there. - food took so long to arrive - ordered the 12 piece sushi platter for R300: it was a disaster. There was more rice than fish, the fried sushi was so hard because it wasn’t coated in tempura batter, ginger looked a few days old, the assortment was a joke (2 salmon roses, 2 tuna nigiri, 4 over fried tuna California roll, 4 tuna and Salomon California roll) the water said there was prawn but we didn’t get any in our platter. - it was a very quiet Sunday, only our table and another table of 4 to look after. Our waiter was giving ‘not interested’ to be at work on that long weekend. Not disrespectful, but just super lethargic and whatever. Took so like to bring the cutlery and the bill. - prawn toast would have been so tasty but way too salty. - The tuna tacos for R195: the tacos were extremely oily. The tuna was great, a bit stingy with the guac. - this seems to be a high end restaurant, so note that the sushi and dim sum come in quantities of 2/3/4/6 and it’s unspecified on the menu! I wanted to order noodles and the duck but after the mediocre food and service we called it a night. Went home unsatisfied.

Was debating between going to a less high end place but chose this because I liked the exterior. Inside is gorgeous and the service was good but food wasn’t anything special. We got lots of dim sum and one wok- the Vegs didn’t have much taste we needed to add some salt and we also ordered the spicy prawn and chili oil chicken dim sum. The chicken one was better and the food was fine but again, nothing to rave about. I’m sure the hole in the wall would have been a bit more authentic but alas

Incredible quality Asian fusion food: Japanese, Thai and Chinese. The dumplings were so popular with all 7 of us. We enjoyed superior quality sushi, fresh and flavourful. The coconut rice was outstanding with the Kung pao curry. Do not miss out on the cheesecake. We shared that delicious desert. If you need special dietary advice only accept advice from the management. Great gluten free options available.

Was welcomed with a smile Atmospere was that of a fine dining restuarant . Our Waiter Brydon recommended our dishes which was spot on with his selections . He was friendly and very helpful. Food was great would recommend to anyone to visit this place for a fine dining experence and would definately return .

Loved it. The quality of food was wonderful and fresh, every bite was tasty and well presented. Service was very good and attentive, we enjoyed the ambiance which is romantic and comfortable lighting. We ordered tapas style to try as much as we can and we’re were pleasantly surprised every time. Food kept coming and it was wonderful.

Enjoyed a celebratory lunch on Heritage day. Enjoyed a glass of Chenin with crispy duck salad, followed by the Haiku sushi platter and angry duck with egg fried rice. Excellent as always!

Borruso’s in Kenilworth is the perfect spot to catch up with friends or family. Warm, friendly, and consistent. The waiters are a bit young so make mistakes sometimes but overall a lovely experience. An added bonus that they dont charge corkage 🍕🍝🍷

This place is a suburban institution in Cape Town. It’s super local , barely any tourists, just a lovely little Italian restaurant that is cozy, unassuming, with great food and friendly staff - tucked away in the southern suburbs. Kinda hard to find the entrance of the building actually. Sit outside if you have kids coz it’s really small inside. Obviously - great pizza.

Pizza was delicious! Waitrons were super friendly. And they had Black Label beer, so this was amazeballs!! Love it👌👌

This was definitely one of the best pizza's I have ever eaten. Fresh and delicately spiced topping, perfectly baked thin Italian crust, simply delicious! If you have a big appetite, I also strongly recommend to try the foccacia as a starter, they were also very tasty. Desserts are homemade and excellent. There is a lively publike atmosphere. Waiters are friendly and service is very fast. Reservations are not possible, but not needed because a table will be available in no time and the pizza is absolutely worth the wait.

Went with family from overseas since we have grown up with this place but also because it is the only pizza and pasta place that is delicious beyond say. Pizza is thin base, with amazing toppings and superb fresh chilli on the side. Favourites are the 'foccaccio' and the 'no name brand', as well as the pasta 'alfredo', which is creamy and so full of authentic flavours. There is a very unique and special quality and character of Borrussos that makes it stand out. From the colours of choice, different furnitures, old victorian style bathroom to the wood fired oven surrounded by money notes, and of course the vintage alcohol bottles and the team pictures throughout the years on display. Lovely owners and such cheerful young ladies and gents working there give such a great vibe and an atmosphere worth wanting more. We have and will always enjoy every moment... Keep up the incredible work and thank you team for bringing smiles to everyone's faces! See you soon, as you will say, pizza will never ever go wrong:) Take care everybody.

Such a lovely dinner out with family on my first visit to Cape Town. In Kennilworth is where this quaint, traditional Italian gem can be found. Think 'Nonna's' kitchen - cozy corners, mood lighting, mismatched chairs, and the chatter of happy customers clinking wine glasses and enjoying generously portioned, delicious food. Perfect pizza - thin crust with lovely quality toppings. I had the blue cheese and fig preserve foccacia to start and the Puttanesca fettucine for mains. Brilliant. My family (who make this a regular stop) highly recommend the Lasagne - I'll absolutely have that next time 😅

Loved it. Great atmosphere. Great service. Great pizza. Would have been 5 star if it wasn't for the wait for food. It was packed so no problem but a bit long. Will give another go for sure!
